- 1:47Speaker 5: Water of the money up.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Look, come.
- 1:58Speaker 8: Come on, you'll think, uh huh, I sure will.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Good morning everybody. You all listen to the voice. Come on,
- 2:07Speaker 2: dig me now, one.
- 2:08Speaker 8: And only Steve Harvey got a radio show. I thank
- 2:11Speaker 8: God for it every day. I try to remember that too,
- 2:14Speaker 8: you know. I try to remember to be grateful. I
- 2:18Speaker 8: think gratitude is one of the things that helps keep
- 2:22Speaker 8: me grounded. You can go as far as you want
- 2:24Speaker 8: in life. If you don't mind who gets the credit. Well,
- 2:27Speaker 8: that applies to God too, don't it. I mean, you know, really,
- 2:31Speaker 8: if you don't mind who gets the credit. I'm surrounded
- 2:35Speaker 8: by very competent people. I'm surrounded by a lot of
- 2:39Speaker 8: people who work hard on their jobs on their career,
- 2:44Speaker 8: who are dedicated employees and also just dedicated to their
- 2:49Speaker 8: families and you know, dedicated to their own set of aspirations.
- 2:53Speaker 8: I don't expect anybody to work for me forever. I
- 2:58Speaker 8: always look at my jobortunities as stepping stones because I
- 3:03Speaker 8: want everyone around me really to aspire to be more.
- 3:06Speaker 8: I mean, that's really the way I am. I'm not
- 3:09Speaker 8: any other way. I'm not trying to hold you to
- 3:12Speaker 8: this position. You know, tell you there's no room for
- 3:15Speaker 8: growth any of that. But even though I'm surrounded by
- 3:20Speaker 8: these people, I'm grateful that God placed them in my path,
- 3:27Speaker 8: in my life. But in my mind, in my spirit,
- 3:34Speaker 8: in everything in me, the credit still belongs to God.
- 3:39Speaker 8: I'm sorry, the credit still belongs to God. See if
- 3:46Speaker 8: you would, just for a moment, stop thinking about yourself,
- 3:52Speaker 8: just for a moment. I know that's hard, but just
- 3:54Speaker 8: for a moment, stop thinking about yourself and realize that
- 3:58Speaker 8: maybe you are who you are because God is who
- 4:02Speaker 8: he is. Maybe that's the case. Have you ever considered that?
- 4:07Speaker 8: That's the strongest possibility I can give to you? You know,
- 4:11Speaker 8: how do you think you the one that made it through?
- 4:16Speaker 8: How you think you the one after all of the
- 4:19Speaker 8: ignorant decisions we have made? And oh my goodness, let's
- 4:23Speaker 8: all be honest. Ain't we made some crazy decisions? I'm
- 4:27Speaker 8: talking about, man, I have made decisions so adverse to
- 4:31Speaker 8: my destiny and career, my promises.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I've made some decisions.
- 4:37Speaker 8: Man, knowingly you hear me knowingly do something wrong, and
- 4:43Speaker 8: in spite of all that, I'm.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Still here standing.
- 4:46Speaker 8: Okay, come on now, really, really, all the dirt you'd done,
- 4:51Speaker 8: done everybody done dirt, all the mistakes you've made, you
- 4:57Speaker 8: in the position you in today because of what? Because
- 5:00Speaker 8: you all that? Because you work harder than anybody else. Look,
- 5:06Speaker 8: I work hard, I'll be I'll tell you in a minute.
- 5:09Speaker 9: I work hard.
- 5:10Speaker 8: But I don't think I'm the hardest working person out there.
- 5:13Speaker 8: I'm pretty sure somebody done work way harder than I have.
- 5:17Speaker 8: So okay, so you work hard? Okay, cool, I got
- 5:20Speaker 8: all that. But man, what about his grace and his mercy?
- 5:27Speaker 8: What about his favor? How many times, man you done
- 5:32Speaker 8: relied on that, even when you ain't know you was
- 5:34Speaker 8: relying on it? How many times man God done shown
- 5:37Speaker 8: you mercy? You ain't even deserve it? Do you know
- 5:41Speaker 8: how many things I've done wrong? I just ain't get
- 5:43Speaker 8: caught at it?
- 5:46Speaker 2: You know. Let me see how simple I can be here?
- 5:49Speaker 8: You speed, you jwall, You lie to police when you
- 5:55Speaker 8: get pulled over that you wasn't speed, and you go
- 5:58Speaker 8: to court and argue you wasn't speed when you was,
- 6:02Speaker 8: You make U turns. I'm just doing traffic violations. Now,
- 6:08Speaker 8: let's get off traffic for a second. Let's get on
- 6:11Speaker 8: human violations. You talk about people when you're not supposed to.
- 6:17Speaker 8: You indulge yourself in gossip even when you don't really.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Have all the facts.
- 6:22Speaker 8: You pass judgment, You lust for people that don't belong
- 6:28Speaker 8: to you. You say things to people that you're not
- 6:32Speaker 8: supposed to say. So look, all of us, we all,
- 6:40Speaker 8: we're all guilty.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Now.
- 6:41Speaker 8: See I'm not saying you do all of that, but
- 6:44Speaker 8: I'm saying I'm pretty sure I hit you somewhere in there,
- 6:47Speaker 8: just somewhere in there. You done lied before, you know,
- 6:51Speaker 8: you lied recently. I mean, come on, And I'm just
- 6:54Speaker 8: saying so with all that in mind, See, I'm just
- 6:57Speaker 8: looking at the little things that we do that we
- 6:58Speaker 8: don't get busted for. Not to mention the chips you
- 7:01Speaker 8: stole when you was a kid and nobody caught you. Well,
- 7:05Speaker 8: that elevated, didn't it. And some of y'all just didn't
- 7:07Speaker 8: stop stealing. And next thing. You know, you was in
- 7:09Speaker 8: a car. Now you're sitting somewhere you don't want to
- 7:11Speaker 8: be sitting because of a decision you made. But through
- 7:15Speaker 8: his grace and mercy, couldn't it have been worse?
- 7:17Speaker 2: Though?
- 7:17Speaker 8: Without his grace and mercy, could not it have been worse.
- 7:22Speaker 8: I know two dudes that got caught in the garage
- 7:24Speaker 8: one time trying to break in somebody's house, and the
- 7:26Speaker 8: person in the house they broke into just happened to
- 7:29Speaker 8: have a gun and held them in the garage, caught
- 7:33Speaker 8: them and held them to the garage to the police car.
- 7:36Speaker 8: That's Grace and Mercy right there, because they had all
- 7:39Speaker 8: full right to shoot these two people, but they didn't.
- 7:42Speaker 8: They're Grace and Mercy. See, all of us have benefited
- 7:46Speaker 8: from his grace and mercy.
- 7:48Speaker 2: All of us have.
- 7:49Speaker 8: Done a wrong, committed a sin, broken a law, and somehow,
- 7:52Speaker 8: through his grace and mercy, got by, doing drugs, buying drugs,
- 7:56Speaker 8: slanging drugs, doing something, got by, jumped on some for
- 8:00Speaker 8: no reason, got by, you know.
- 8:03Speaker 2: So see how you figure with all that.
- 8:07Speaker 8: That can go on in your life? And then hold on,
- 8:09Speaker 8: let me throw a couple more at you. You can't
- 8:12Speaker 8: wake yourself up in the morning, mister big shot, you
- 8:17Speaker 8: don't have the ability to control the breaths that you take. Really,
- 8:22Speaker 8: mister big shot, really, let's get real basic with it now.
- 8:27Speaker 2: You can't wake yourself up in the morning.
- 8:30Speaker 8: That's favor, that's grace, that's mercy, that's Him allowing you
- 8:38Speaker 8: to wake up just hoping we get it right. You know,
- 8:43Speaker 8: God spared me through all the dirt I was doing
- 8:45Speaker 8: just hoping. One day, man, can you just straighten up
- 8:48Speaker 8: a little bit? When I finally straightened up? And I'm
- 8:52Speaker 8: gonna just say it, straightened up a little bit. See,
- 8:54Speaker 8: I ain't straightened up all the way. Say I ain't
- 8:56Speaker 8: gonna sit here and tell you that I just straightened
- 8:58Speaker 8: up a little bit blessing me. So the more blessings
- 9:02Speaker 8: I gotta start going. Man, maybe I'll try straighten up
- 9:04Speaker 8: a little bit more. So I straightened up a little
- 9:05Speaker 8: bit more. I still got a long way to go,
- 9:08Speaker 8: but I'm straighter than I was now. When people judging me,
- 9:11Speaker 8: and as they will, and they do, because that ain't right,
- 9:14Speaker 8: but they do, and I ain't walking just the way
- 9:16Speaker 8: they walk, then here come to criticism. I get it
- 9:19Speaker 8: all the time. Stop wanting credit all the time, and
- 9:22Speaker 8: give out some credit where credit is due instead of
- 9:25Speaker 8: having somebody patting you on your back all the time.
- 9:28Speaker 8: Why don't you tell God kill people it was really
- 9:30Speaker 8: was God, man that you don't really know how you
- 9:33Speaker 8: made it? That really man, you have no explanation for
- 9:35Speaker 8: your success, or you have no explanation why you still
- 9:38Speaker 8: exist in today. Why don't you tell somebody it was
- 9:41Speaker 8: God today. Don't be ashamed. It's the truth, ain't it.
- 9:44Speaker 8: I mean, really, man, Let's give God some credit here.
- 9:48Speaker 8: Give God the credit and the glory and the honor.
- 9:51Speaker 8: And like that plaque said, you can go as far
- 9:53Speaker 8: as you want in life if you don't mind who
- 9:55Speaker 8: gets the credit.
- 9:56Speaker 10: All right, you're listening morning show.

- 10:05Speaker 8: new day. God has been good. You should recognize that.

- 10:12Speaker 8: immediately make a list, get your iPhone, take out your
- 10:17Speaker 8: note section, get a pen or paper, do whatever you
- 10:20Speaker 8: want to do, or just.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Stop and close your eyes.
- 10:22Speaker 8: I want you to list fifteen things that you're thankful for,
- 10:27Speaker 8: and you have it. As soon as you do that,
- 10:30Speaker 8: you will be now up on the right side of
- 10:33Speaker 8: the bed. Joy and depression cannot reside in the same place.

- 14:26Speaker 7: it or are you?
- 14:27Speaker 17: Uh uh?
- 14:28Speaker 18: What's your current church?
- 14:30Speaker 7: Hold? Well, we liven't been in a minute, you know.
- 14:32Speaker 7: For you you you baptized my son and my daughter.
- 14:35Speaker 7: Uh kareem? All right? You baptized them. I don't. I
- 14:40Speaker 7: don't think you. I mean, I'm sure you do a
- 14:41Speaker 7: lot of people.
- 14:42Speaker 17: But yeah, I was about to say I do a lot.
- 14:44Speaker 17: I can't really pin point in name like that. You
- 14:46Speaker 17: said it was about a couple of years.
- 14:48Speaker 7: Ago, three years between two and between two and three
- 14:51Speaker 7: years ago. You you baptized my little girl and my son.
- 14:54Speaker 17: Okay, blessed on that. I'm glad I was able to
- 14:57Speaker 17: do that service for you. I was wondering how get
- 15:00Speaker 17: my number? Usually any things like this usually get handled
- 15:04Speaker 17: with the church, you know, one of my deacons or
- 15:06Speaker 17: my secretary. But uh uh did you call the church
- 15:10Speaker 17: and they gave you my number?
- 15:14Speaker 7: This this guy at the church, let me see. His
- 15:16Speaker 7: name is Oh Dobbs, Dobbs brother, brother Dobbs, brother.
- 15:21Speaker 17: Brother Dobs gave you my phone number, my information, Brother Dobbs.
- 15:24Speaker 7: I got this from brother Dobbs that you I could
- 15:28Speaker 7: reach you. Now you know him right, he's one of
- 15:30Speaker 7: your deacons.
- 15:31Speaker 17: Brother, He's that's a good man right there. I know
- 15:34Speaker 17: the many years.
- 15:35Speaker 7: Okay him, I rooting for wanting to talk to you directly. Okay,
- 15:39Speaker 7: Like I said, you baptized my little girl Tailoring and
- 15:42Speaker 7: my son Kareem. What are baptizing is supposed to be
- 15:47Speaker 7: you cleansing them and you watching them? Brad. Okay, here's
- 15:50Speaker 7: my problem here, my problem. You baptized my kids. But
- 15:54Speaker 7: it ain't nothing saying they grave still bad. They still
- 15:58Speaker 7: didn't cobeating it. I don't see where your dad the days.
- 16:04Speaker 7: But if you if I don't see what your baptide
- 16:08Speaker 7: has done anything all the time, and I don't know
- 16:12Speaker 7: that I spent when I was down. I want that.
- 16:14Speaker 17: Money back now. Okay, now you concuse me. I'm not
- 16:18Speaker 17: sure if I think you know we need to stop
- 16:20Speaker 17: this madness right now because you're talking about your money back. Baptized.
- 16:26Speaker 17: I'm more alike with baptized your kids. I've been at
- 16:28Speaker 17: this church person for many years, so I won't doubt
- 16:31Speaker 17: that I'm probably the past that you're looking for. But
- 16:35Speaker 17: I just don't understand what you're trying to get at
- 16:37Speaker 17: here about the baptism that.
- 16:39Speaker 7: I'm saying you're supposed to when when people get baptized,
- 16:43Speaker 7: it's supposed to change them.
- 16:45Speaker 17: Cleansing.
- 16:46Speaker 7: Okay, I see, yes, clean them, but my kids, let
- 16:51Speaker 7: me let me ask you.
- 16:52Speaker 17: I'm just trying to brother, I'm just just trying to
- 16:54Speaker 17: get to the bottom of this. You know what I mean,
- 16:55Speaker 17: because when we get on the band, how you got
- 17:00Speaker 17: my numbers?
- 17:01Speaker 7: The bottom of it is your your baptizing ain't doing nothing.
- 17:06Speaker 7: My kids will still graves bad, they still discover boll.
- 17:11Speaker 7: Yo said, why they haven't become to church?
- 17:13Speaker 17: You said you're not going to any congregation. Maybe you
- 17:15Speaker 17: guys need to come on back to church, sit in
- 17:17Speaker 17: or some sermons. You know, I even work with your
- 17:19Speaker 17: one on one. But I can't. I can't do nothing
- 17:23Speaker 17: about the grades in school. I mean, and and and
- 17:27Speaker 17: and overall that starts when you.
- 17:29Speaker 7: When you have back that damn. I should see a
- 17:32Speaker 7: change in them, and I don't see a change. But
- 17:35Speaker 7: all the time I was going to your church, I'm
- 17:38Speaker 7: paying for these tithes. Well then I'm not getting any
- 17:41Speaker 7: Hey man, at the end of the day's path here,
- 17:43Speaker 7: I want my money back. That's what That's what we
- 17:45Speaker 7: have at the end that.
- 17:47Speaker 17: Brother David, that's not how it worked. Brother, you understand,
- 17:50Speaker 17: I'm not I'm not trying to raise my.
- 17:52Speaker 7: Voice at you.
- 17:52Speaker 19: But you, you all over you, all over the place.
- 17:54Speaker 17: You want money back.
- 17:56Speaker 7: I understand.
- 17:57Speaker 17: What can I do for you.
- 17:58Speaker 7: I can tell you now what you can do. My kids,
- 18:00Speaker 7: I don't got them baptized over there with you. All
- 18:03Speaker 7: that time I go on your church, I'm paying me time.
- 18:05Speaker 7: I'm paying time, paying ane time, and I get my
- 18:08Speaker 7: kids baptized. And but the hides gonna have.
- 18:11Speaker 17: Nothing to do with the baptism.
- 18:13Speaker 7: The times had something to do with all this time.
- 18:16Speaker 7: I spit over there and I'm not taking anything in return. Brother,
- 18:20Speaker 7: that's what you're calling all in the world.
- 18:22Speaker 20: Am I gonna figure out how much cards you need?
- 18:25Speaker 7: I know? Ever think about that?
- 18:27Speaker 17: I know exactly No, no, no, no, you call him
- 18:29Speaker 17: home with this nonsense.
- 18:31Speaker 20: You're not even a member of my congregation, and I
- 18:34Speaker 20: just don't like it.
- 18:36Speaker 7: Maybe who you think you were ready to? Your boy said,
- 18:39Speaker 7: just because you're gonna show you're a man of the tribal,
- 18:41Speaker 7: don't mean that that's because I'm a manrai of God.
- 18:43Speaker 18: Don't mean I can't cut your own You understand that, Brother.
- 18:46Speaker 17: If it's something you need to deal with, you need
- 18:48Speaker 17: to talk to people at the church.
- 18:49Speaker 7: Why if I need to talk to brother dog when
- 18:52Speaker 7: I'm talking to that, I do not need to the
- 18:54Speaker 7: problem right now. You're a problem. I'm a problem. I
- 18:57Speaker 7: just had a bunch of tide money and I won't
- 19:00Speaker 7: I know exactly how much I spent over there, and
- 19:02Speaker 7: I want my money back.
- 19:04Speaker 17: Brother, about that?

- 23:04Speaker 7: All right?
- 23:05Speaker 11: All right?
- 23:05Speaker 15: Schuler and Augusta says, I'm a fifty seven year old
- 23:08Speaker 15: man and I'm renting a house to a woman that
- 23:10Speaker 15: I used to date. Lately, I've been sleeping with her
- 23:13Speaker 15: twenty eight year old daughter, and we've kept it on
- 23:15Speaker 15: the download because I don't need the drama. The woman
- 23:19Speaker 15: has been ill and she can't pay her rent. Her
- 23:22Speaker 15: daughter told me if I don't stop pressuring them for
- 23:25Speaker 15: the rent, she's going to tell her mom about us.
- 23:27Speaker 15: This will kill my reputation in town. But I need
- 23:31Speaker 15: the money. What can I do?
- 23:34Speaker 2: See old pimp Shoela. Let me explain her to you.
- 23:37Speaker 8: God, Oh, you can't play the game, be the pimp
- 23:42Speaker 8: and the player, and don't expect to get played or pimped.
- 23:46Speaker 2: It's the game you created.
- 23:48Speaker 8: You can't be the player and the pimp in the
- 23:50Speaker 8: game and then don't expect the game to turn around
- 23:52Speaker 8: play and pimp you. Now, you screwing this woman's daughter
- 23:56Speaker 8: on the down low, so you thought, but you preshing
- 24:00Speaker 8: them for money. Now let me let me ask some
- 24:02Speaker 8: so how you gonna play the young girl for some
- 24:05Speaker 8: for some sex. But now when it comes to some
- 24:09Speaker 8: allocation on the rent, you don't want to give her nothing.
- 24:12Speaker 8: So now you just she's brustaus have to sex you
- 24:15Speaker 8: and you don't chipy in nothing on the rent her mama.
- 24:19Speaker 8: Not only are you messing over her, you used to
- 24:22Speaker 8: mess with her and she's ill. Can you let some
- 24:26Speaker 8: of the dog in you like a grown man? Or
- 24:29Speaker 8: you just gonna be dogs your whole life. It's just
- 24:31Speaker 8: about you, Shuler, Shuler. Now, I don't know what this
- 24:36Speaker 8: young girl thinks that she's gonna accomplish by telling her
- 24:38Speaker 8: mother about y'all, because that's just gonna break her heart.
- 24:42Speaker 8: She already sick. Yeah, so that's a stupid thing for
- 24:46Speaker 8: her to initiate you with. But your dumb mans is
- 24:50Speaker 8: talking about it to ruin your reputation in town.
- 24:54Speaker 2: With me, dog, it's all about you.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yeah, you're sleeping.
- 24:58Speaker 2: With your former girlfriends daughter on the low.
- 25:02Speaker 8: You won't give them a break on rick because you
- 25:05Speaker 8: need the money, but you need the sex. From the
- 25:08Speaker 8: twenty eight year old. But you need your reputation intact.
- 25:11Speaker 8: Look like they're gonna be staying there for free will
- 25:13Speaker 8: for me?
- 25:18Speaker 1: All right, we're moving on as being show.
- 25:23Speaker 8: It ain't free Pardner, all right.
- 25:26Speaker 15: My husband died in January, and I offered to let
- 25:29Speaker 15: his brother and his wife move in with me because
- 25:32Speaker 15: I needed a company and I have plenty of room.
- 25:34Speaker 15: His brother and I love to watch old movies, and
- 25:37Speaker 15: we stay up late together in the living room watching movies,
- 25:40Speaker 15: reminiscing and making love while his wife is sleeping. It
- 25:48Speaker 15: helped me deal with the loss of my husband, and
- 25:50Speaker 15: I don't want it to end. Should I tell him
- 25:53Speaker 15: I'm falling for him or not?
- 25:58Speaker 2: They just very clean.
- 26:01Speaker 8: Sleeping with his brother has helped you deal with his death,
- 26:07Speaker 8: That's what she said, because I guess.
- 26:09Speaker 2: It's like he ain't gone. No more.
- 26:13Speaker 11: Imagines him.
- 26:15Speaker 2: So I'm trying to and now his wife in the

- 26:31Speaker 2: Okay, y'all watching old movies.
- 26:34Speaker 9: Uh huh, car Washed.
- 26:37Speaker 8: Well if you know who he is, you know, I mean,
- 26:39Speaker 8: how old y'all? Gladiator?
- 26:43Speaker 2: Oh? I was talking to some people set today.
- 26:45Speaker 8: They were talking about Gladiator horse Dad.
- 26:50Speaker 2: What the hell you mean?
- 26:54Speaker 8: She told me when Gladier came out I was four,
- 27:00Speaker 8: that's possible.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Yeah, So look, lady, we can't help you.
- 27:07Speaker 8: I mean, if that's how you decided to get over

- 27:18Speaker 2: I don't really know what to say to you.
- 27:24Speaker 8: Well, then they all gonna be in there with now,
- 27:26Speaker 8: they're all gonna be in there making the damn moving in.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Yeah, what is going on?
- 27:31Speaker 2: We can see later.
- 27:34Speaker 11: Yeah, it's bound to happen.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I don't know what to tell you, lady. Sorry, good loans.
- 27:41Speaker 15: Don't tell him she's falling for him or not. That's
- 27:44Speaker 15: that's the only thing she wants to Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah, hell yeah, go on and tell him
- 27:51Speaker 8: then't tell your brother in law that you're falling for him.
- 27:55Speaker 8: And asked him to go ask him going there and
- 27:57Speaker 8: tell his wife how she feel about it, And y'all
- 28:01Speaker 8: make some coffee and talk it over.
- 28:05Speaker 2: While your pictures.
- 28:06Speaker 9: On the wall.
- 28:07Speaker 10: You're listening hard Morning show.
- 28:12Speaker 15: All right, Sometimes we all find ourselves in a conversation. Okay,
- 28:17Speaker 15: be a political, scientific, educational, financial, even hip hop pop
- 28:21Speaker 15: culture based conversations where we just have no clue, I
- 28:26Speaker 15: mean clueless to what the person is talking about.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Okay, so so guess.
- 28:31Speaker 9: What sure to do with sports? Busted?
- 28:36Speaker 15: So do you guys chime in and ask people to
- 28:39Speaker 15: get you up to speed or do you just.
- 28:42Speaker 11: Not in agreement?
- 28:43Speaker 2: Like you know, you know, like I actually get in
- 28:45Speaker 2: the conversations.
- 28:46Speaker 11: I wanted to start with you.
- 28:48Speaker 8: Yes, thence like bring up a subject cause you know,
- 28:53Speaker 8: I ain't got nothing now I don't know nothing about it.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Engineering making a bridge, oh man?
- 28:59Speaker 8: You know, and my father man used to work constructing.
- 29:02Speaker 8: You know, I used to work on bridge. We used
- 29:04Speaker 8: to have had the cracks in the bridge, so I
- 29:07Speaker 8: knew all about the structural design of a bridge, what
- 29:10Speaker 8: called the fracture spaces in it.
- 29:12Speaker 2: And I just did like that.
- 29:14Speaker 15: Yeah, did you or your father go to engineering school?
- 29:17Speaker 15: I mean take engineering?
- 29:18Speaker 2: And I never did.
- 29:20Speaker 15: Did he have a construction company or no?
- 29:23Speaker 7: No?
- 29:24Speaker 8: No, no, Now we work for this company, Frank buddy,
- 29:27Speaker 8: Frank buddy contract.
- 29:28Speaker 11: Have you ever driven over a bridge here?
- 29:31Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 29:31Speaker 8: I been a lot of That's how we knew how
- 29:32Speaker 8: they cracked, you know, structural engineering position is what we
- 29:36Speaker 8: would take hold was the uprooted problem that diverted the
- 29:39Speaker 8: situation into a cracking.
- 29:41Speaker 2: At first, he.
- 29:42Speaker 9: Sound good what he's talking about.
- 29:45Speaker 11: There's like a board game like them.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Go ahead, go ahead, car.
- 29:50Speaker 3: I was ask him, so, how would you what would
- 29:53Speaker 3: you recommend to update a bridge? Well, I think up
- 29:56Speaker 3: is a very bridge.
- 29:59Speaker 8: The Golden brid bridge has been needn update and repairing.
- 30:02Speaker 8: You have been several earthquakes, has we waking the foundation.
- 30:06Speaker 8: But I think what we're gonna have to do is
- 30:07Speaker 8: we're gonna have to do a section out of time.
- 30:09Speaker 8: I think we're gonna have to break that bridge and half.
- 30:11Speaker 8: So we had just one way traffic going one way,
- 30:13Speaker 8: and then once you get the one one lane blocked off,
- 30:16Speaker 8: and then you can do the restructural work on the
- 30:18Speaker 8: other sides, and then you reinforce it up under with
- 30:21Speaker 8: welding beams and now to join them back together, and
- 30:23Speaker 8: that way they'll fix that whole thing.
- 30:25Speaker 1: You mentioned earthquakes.
- 30:29Speaker 15: I was wondering, you know, we're out here in La
- 30:32Speaker 15: what do you know a lot of seismatologists have been
- 30:34Speaker 15: on the news lately saying there is a possibility that
- 30:37Speaker 15: there could be an earthquake coming up soon?
- 30:40Speaker 1: You agree with that?
- 30:41Speaker 2: Four point seven?
- 30:42Speaker 11: Four point seven?
- 30:44Speaker 21: What are you basing that on?
- 30:45Speaker 2: Yeah, because last was four point six?
- 30:49Speaker 15: Predict Are you a seismatologist by any chance or you
- 30:54Speaker 15: had you know anybody that is?
- 30:55Speaker 2: No, I'm I'm a quake atologist.
- 30:57Speaker 21: After so far, so good?
- 31:09Speaker 13: Yeah, anything just anything I couldn't I can get right
- 31:14Speaker 13: with it.
- 31:14Speaker 8: In houses, houses you know a lot about how Yeah,
- 31:18Speaker 8: I grew up in the housing projects.
- 31:23Speaker 15: I'm meant seismologists, seismatologists.
- 31:27Speaker 2: That's why I said, you said, because I knew you
- 31:29Speaker 2: didn't know what you.
- 31:32Speaker 16: Go ahead tell me you know you know anything about
- 31:35Speaker 16: design and airplanes are absolutely?
- 31:38Speaker 15: Absolutely, you mean like the engines and stuff are inside,
- 31:41Speaker 15: which that core Well let's go be Yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 31:47Speaker 8: Rose Royce is number one engine manufacturer of jet planes
- 31:51Speaker 8: in the world right.
- 31:52Speaker 11: Now, now that I believe that's from you, that I believe.
- 31:55Speaker 8: Rose Ross is number one jet manufactured engine parts and
- 32:00Speaker 8: oldest in the world today. And so whatever I'm picking
- 32:04Speaker 8: out a plane always goes rows right.
- 32:06Speaker 15: Okay, what's the best feat to get up with altitude?
- 32:12Speaker 8: Well, you want to fly at least thirty three thousands,
- 32:14Speaker 8: But if you in the whole war substantial plane you
- 32:18Speaker 8: can get up to forty nine thousand, which then at
- 32:20Speaker 8: that point you can see the curvature of the Earth.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I cannot argue this.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I guess you're up there in heaven on my.
- 32:28Speaker 8: Afe forty nine thousand feet and a G five. You
- 32:31Speaker 8: can see the curvature of the Earth ahead.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Wow, the planet.
- 32:35Speaker 2: So you can see that the world is round.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Wow.
- 32:40Speaker 2: No, and that's a fact, it really is.
- 32:43Speaker 15: I can't argue with you because I have no idea
- 32:45Speaker 15: A thousand altitude.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, thirty will need anything.
- 32:51Speaker 3: What do you think about these people speaking of that
- 32:53Speaker 3: thing you're talking about the world and the earth and planet?
- 32:55Speaker 3: What do you think about these people that are now
- 32:57Speaker 3: saying that Earth is flat? They're coming out saying that.
- 33:00Speaker 8: Oh they saying that because they ain't never been up
- 33:02Speaker 8: for nine thousand. I see all they've been on the delta.
- 33:08Speaker 8: Don't do for nine thou you got to get on
- 33:11Speaker 8: something else here. What I'm talking about most people talking
- 33:14Speaker 8: about the world is flat because just sheer ignorance.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Yeah, if the world is flat, how come China over there?
- 33:25Speaker 1: We gotta be able to see chinaf it with flat
- 33:27Speaker 1: I like.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Or you can drive over there to it.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Yeah, right, what do you see?
- 33:33Speaker 8: If the world was flat, you wouldn't have to worry
- 33:35Speaker 8: about it wouldn't have to be no time zone change
- 33:38Speaker 8: because it's gonna get half the world would be light.
- 33:40Speaker 1: At the same time, dropping knowledge.
- 33:43Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 33:44Speaker 8: I think because it's tilted in his own sphere and
- 33:47Speaker 8: it rotates, you don't never get that quarter of the
- 33:50Speaker 8: world is always different.
- 33:51Speaker 2: From the other three four.
- 33:52Speaker 11: But I do like daylight savings time though.
- 33:55Speaker 2: And keep it. Well, they're not gonna do that anymore.
- 33:58Speaker 8: They're gonna cut that out because farm ain't what it
- 34:00Speaker 8: used to be in the United States and America. They
- 34:02Speaker 8: don't do daylight saving nowhere else but over here.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Let's review. So you know about bridges and everything about them?
- 34:11Speaker 1: Yeah, times out?
- 34:12Speaker 8: Yeah, and I just get with anybody real quick anything
- 34:16Speaker 8: come health.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Global warming, global warming, it's happening. I don't even damn
- 34:21Speaker 2: what is happening.
- 34:24Speaker 8: And it ain't got nothing to do with the cold
- 34:26Speaker 8: weather like his stupid ass things. Nothing at all. Global
- 34:30Speaker 8: warming is real. It's melting the glaciers at an uncommonly
- 34:34Speaker 8: rapid paced, thus producing more weather. Change is globally, because
- 34:38Speaker 8: the moisture is not conversation is forming in a cloud
- 34:40Speaker 8: formation and giving us the radic weather in places that
- 34:43Speaker 8: we would normally have it. Thus, global warming is real,
- 34:47Speaker 8: and the glaciers are decreasing at point seven inches per
- 34:52Speaker 8: seven inches every six months.
- 34:56Speaker 15: You're listening Morning show, it is time to out? Or
- 35:00Speaker 15: would you rather let's play around, let's get into it.
- 35:03Speaker 15: Would you rather sing everything you speak? Or would you
- 35:07Speaker 15: rather dance every time you walk?
- 35:12Speaker 2: Saying everything else?
- 35:14Speaker 1: We know that's what you want.
- 35:15Speaker 9: I'm not sure to be that happy as black.
- 35:17Speaker 22: Person dance and every time you walk, so sing something.
- 35:24Speaker 9: Steve, ask me a question.
- 35:27Speaker 15: Tell, okay, what time is our meeting today? Our conference
- 35:31Speaker 15: call meeting.
- 35:31Speaker 2: The time of the meeting will be.
- 35:36Speaker 8: Somewhere about a quarter to three.
- 35:40Speaker 2: I want you call the Tommy.
- 35:44Speaker 8: I won't Junior counn Mississippi Monica. I want everybody boom zoom,
- 35:54Speaker 8: get plenty of route, see you a phone call three
- 36:02Speaker 8: hours after noon.
- 36:07Speaker 11: He sings everything. I just be loan.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right. So here's another one.

- 52:46Speaker 1: Thanking nephew.
- 52:47Speaker 15: My children are inconvenient is the subject. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 52:53Speaker 15: I'm fifty one years old. I'm a married woman, and
- 52:56Speaker 15: I've been with my husband for seven years. We met
- 52:59Speaker 15: at a concert while picking up our daughters, who were
- 53:02Speaker 15: both sixteen at the time. He and I started talking
- 53:05Speaker 15: about how we shouldn't have let our daughters go u chaperone.
- 53:09Speaker 15: My daughter and her friends came out first, and he
- 53:12Speaker 15: got my number before I walked away. We instantly clicked,
- 53:16Speaker 15: and he proposed a year. A year after a year
- 53:19Speaker 15: of dating, our daughters didn't know each other, so they
- 53:22Speaker 15: demanded separate bedrooms as we struggled to blend our families
- 53:26Speaker 15: after marriage. Right now, we live with two twenty three
- 53:30Speaker 15: year old women, and he has a son that is nineteen,
- 53:33Speaker 15: and he comes and goes as he pleases. When he
- 53:35Speaker 15: breaks up with this girl, he's back on our couch
- 53:38Speaker 15: for a few weeks. All of our bedrooms, all of
- 53:41Speaker 15: our closets, and two storage rooms have been taken over
- 53:45Speaker 15: by grown children. My husband and I are a decent couple,
- 53:49Speaker 15: and my man works hard, and so do I. We
- 53:52Speaker 15: brought our children up in the church and we made
- 53:55Speaker 15: sure they went to college. All three of them dropped out.
- 53:58Speaker 15: Our girls smoke, and I'm sure our son does too,
- 54:02Speaker 15: but he's just better at hiding it. The girls smoke
- 54:05Speaker 15: in our backyard, and the neighbors used to complain, but
- 54:08Speaker 15: now they just accept it like we do. I talk
- 54:12Speaker 15: to my husband about us selling our house and downsizing
- 54:15Speaker 15: to a condo so these freeloaders won't have any space.
- 54:18Speaker 15: But he's got a soft spot for these grown, lazy women.
- 54:22Speaker 15: I want to redo our kitchen and den, but I
- 54:24Speaker 15: refuse to make our home nicer until the freeloaders leave.
- 54:28Speaker 15: I don't feel bad for them because they're a major
- 54:31Speaker 15: inconvenience At this point, they have no way to take
- 54:34Speaker 15: care of themselves if we put them out. What can
- 54:37Speaker 15: we do to get these grown ups out of here? Wow,
- 54:41Speaker 15: this is a really sad letter. Smoking weed in the
- 54:45Speaker 15: backyard not working. This has got to stop right now. Okay,
- 54:51Speaker 15: and downsizing to a nice condo sounds really nice.
- 54:55Speaker 1: And I got to ask whereas their mother. She probably doesn't.
- 54:59Speaker 15: Let them take advance of her space like you guys,
- 55:02Speaker 15: You and your husband have to present some sort of
- 55:04Speaker 15: united front. I know you said your husband has a
- 55:06Speaker 15: soft spot, but you all got to get this together
- 55:09Speaker 15: so you can talk to these entitle, spoiled kids. You
- 55:12Speaker 15: got to let them know things are about to change
- 55:14Speaker 15: the free rides over. You got to set a deadline
- 55:17Speaker 15: for them to get it together and get out. They
- 55:20Speaker 15: need jobs, they need apartments so they can get out
- 55:23Speaker 15: as soon as possible. They should start looking now, You
- 55:26Speaker 15: as parents are enabling them. That's what you're doing. These
- 55:31Speaker 15: kids have no incentive to get out. They have free meals,
- 55:35Speaker 15: free room and board. They can smoke weed whenever they
- 55:38Speaker 15: want to. You guys don't say anything. I mean, what's
- 55:40Speaker 15: their incentive to lead? I mean, the sun does have
- 55:44Speaker 15: a place to live, so you definitely shouldn't be letting
- 55:47Speaker 15: him come and go as he pleases.
- 55:51Speaker 1: I know you love your kids.
- 55:52Speaker 15: We all love our kids, but there does come a
- 55:54Speaker 15: time when we have to let go so they can
- 55:56Speaker 15: spread their wings and get started on their own path,
- 55:59Speaker 15: on their own journey. They'll figure it out. They will
- 56:02Speaker 15: figure it out as we all did, and they'll thank
- 56:06Speaker 15: you later. All right, But you got to tell them
- 56:08Speaker 15: to get out now. Step that deadline and stick to it.
- 56:11Speaker 15: You and your husband together as a couple, Steve.
- 56:16Speaker 8: All of us on this show that have adult children
- 56:19Speaker 8: know what this letter is about. MM and we're sick
- 56:22Speaker 8: of this type of letter.
- 56:24Speaker 24: Yeah, we feel for you. We understand you. We empathize
- 56:29Speaker 24: with you. But at the same time, I've had to
- 56:33Speaker 24: do some things. Now let me tell you something. It
- 56:35Speaker 24: ain't all these because I'm all through this letter. I
- 56:37Speaker 24: had blended family. All this here, so you know, here
- 56:40Speaker 24: we go. Y'all met at a rap concert. Both y'all
- 56:44Speaker 24: sixteen year old daughters was at the concert. Y'all met
- 56:46Speaker 24: waiting on them to come outside. Your daughters came out
- 56:49Speaker 24: first with her friends. You all clicked. He asked for
- 56:53Speaker 24: your number before you walked away. A year later, you
- 56:55Speaker 24: all were married.
- 56:57Speaker 8: Your daughters, who are both sixteen, didn't really know each other,
- 57:00Speaker 8: so they demanded separate bedrooms. As we struggle to blend
- 57:04Speaker 8: our families after marriage.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Blending the family's not easy.
- 57:08Speaker 8: Especially the older they get, the more opinionated they are,
- 57:11Speaker 8: and they have personalities, and they not necessarily would have
- 57:14Speaker 8: been friends. They just became family. The thing with family
- 57:19Speaker 8: is you don't get to pick your family. You do
- 57:21Speaker 8: get to pick your friends. So when you throw them
- 57:24Speaker 8: into this situation, it is going to be some difficulties.
- 57:28Speaker 8: Right now, after seven years, you live with two twenty
- 57:32Speaker 8: three year old women, and yeah, as a son is nineteen,
- 57:36Speaker 8: come and go as he pleases, he break up with
- 57:38Speaker 8: his girlfriend.
- 57:38Speaker 2: He's back on our couch for a few weeks.
- 57:41Speaker 8: All of our bedrooms, all of our clauses two stories
- 57:43Speaker 8: rooms have been taking up our grown children. My husband
- 57:46Speaker 8: and I have a decent couple, and my man works hard,
- 57:49Speaker 8: and so do I. It's just so much going wrong
- 57:52Speaker 8: in this letter. First of all, they've been at y'all's
- 57:55Speaker 8: house way too long. Now I'm off of you a
- 57:58Speaker 8: solution when we come back. But let me say this.
- 58:01Speaker 8: We brought our children up into church. Okay, so much
- 58:04Speaker 8: for that, So much for that. I don't even know
- 58:08Speaker 8: why you put that in there. I don't know, I
- 58:10Speaker 8: don't know. I don't know if that was.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Supposed to change something.
- 58:12Speaker 8: Because you bought them up in the church, you can
- 58:15Speaker 8: bring them up in the church, and you can bring
- 58:16Speaker 8: them up in the club when they ain't doing what
- 58:18Speaker 8: they supposed to do. They ain't doing what they're supposed
- 58:20Speaker 8: to do. And we made sure they went to college.
- 58:24Speaker 8: All three of them dropped out. Okay, so now you're
- 58:30Speaker 8: making adult decisions on your own, then it is time
- 58:35Speaker 8: for adult consequences when I come back to me. This
- 58:41Speaker 8: whole letter is about consequences. And you have to allow
- 58:47Speaker 8: and I've learned this as a parent. You have to
- 58:49Speaker 8: allow for the consequences to occur. It's the only way
- 58:53Speaker 8: they gonna learn. And it's not consequences that you inflict,
- 58:57Speaker 8: it's consequences that happened from their decisions.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Go over this when I come back.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Hang on, Steve.
- 59:02Speaker 15: We'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 59:04Speaker 15: twenty three minutes after the hour subject my children are inconvenient.
- 59:10Speaker 15: We'll get back into it right after this.
- 59:12Speaker 10: You're listening Hardy Morning Show.
- 59:16Speaker 15: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter.
- 59:19Speaker 15: My children are inconvenient?
- 59:22Speaker 2: Well, well, well, well ain't they all?
- 59:27Speaker 8: Sometimes your children get on your last damn Nerve.
- 59:32Speaker 2: Oh, they don't think they do, but they do.
- 59:36Speaker 8: And guess what the good news is they children gonna
- 59:40Speaker 8: get on they damn nerves too. So that's how I've been.
- 59:46Speaker 8: I'll be looking at my son with kids nine, he'd
- 59:49Speaker 8: be talking to me. I don't even be listening at
- 59:51Speaker 8: the time. What, oh be listening whatever? Whatever?
- 59:56Speaker 2: You was that same damn problem I tried to tell you.
- 1:00:02Speaker 8: So now we got these couple that gotten married. They
- 1:00:05Speaker 8: have two daughters at sixteen, they blended a family. They're
- 1:00:08Speaker 8: having difficulties. The daughters demanded each separate bedrooms. They struggle
- 1:00:13Speaker 8: with their marriage. You got a nineteen year old boy
- 1:00:15Speaker 8: that comes and go when he pleads. If he break
- 1:00:17Speaker 8: up with his girlfriend, he back on their couch for
- 1:00:19Speaker 8: a few weeks. All the bedrooms and closets and storages
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: taken up by grown children. And you all are decent couple.
- 1:00:26Speaker 8: You and your husband. Y'all raised your kids in church,
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: which they're whatever. Anyway, we made sure they went to college.
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: Now all three of the kids have decided to drop
- 1:00:36Speaker 8: out of college.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: This is where your consequences have to be. Give.
- 1:00:41Speaker 8: The one thing I've taught my children is this, the
- 1:00:43Speaker 8: older you get, the more die of the consequences. See,
- 1:00:47Speaker 8: you can make the mistakes at a child, and me
- 1:00:50Speaker 8: and your parents will help you. But the older you get,
- 1:00:53Speaker 8: my man, the more die of the consequences. And I'm
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: not gonna stop the consequences from happening to you. So
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: once they decided to drop out of college, then guess
- 1:01:02Speaker 8: what they needed to develop then was a plan of action.
- 1:01:06Speaker 8: Since you don't want to go to college, but they
- 1:01:08Speaker 8: ain't have one, and you all didn't allow them to
- 1:01:11Speaker 8: have one because you all let them come back to
- 1:01:13Speaker 8: the whole. Now all three of them are dropped out,
- 1:01:15Speaker 8: and now they smoking weed. And you're sure your son
- 1:01:18Speaker 8: does too, He just better at hiding it. The girls
- 1:01:21Speaker 8: smoke weed in y'all's backyard, and the neighbors used to complain,
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: but now they just accept it like we do.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Really seemed to me like you need some rules at
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: your house.
- 1:01:30Speaker 8: See, you can stay here, but these are the rules
- 1:01:34Speaker 8: at our house. You can't smoke weed in the backyard.
- 1:01:38Speaker 8: It's no longer acceptable. And if you smoke weed in
- 1:01:42Speaker 8: the backyard, we're gonna put you out. But they ain't
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: got no consequences, so they do what they want to do. Now,
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: you say you've talked to your husband about selling your
- 1:01:51Speaker 8: house and downsizing so you can get rid of these
- 1:01:55Speaker 8: freeloaders because they won't have any space. But he got
- 1:01:59Speaker 8: a spot for these grown lazy women. I'm assuming that
- 1:02:02Speaker 8: you don't. That's why you wrote the letter. You want
- 1:02:05Speaker 8: to redo your kitchen and den, but you don't want
- 1:02:07Speaker 8: to make them place nicer until the freeloaders leave. I
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: don't feel bad for them because they have a major inconvenience.
- 1:02:13Speaker 8: At this point, they have no way to take care
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: of themselves. This is where you and I have a problem.
- 1:02:20Speaker 8: They have no way to take care of themselves. Well,
- 1:02:23Speaker 8: that's not true. They do have a way once they
- 1:02:27Speaker 8: have to find a way. I'm gonna repeat that. They
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: do have a way once they have to find a way.
- 1:02:38Speaker 8: But as Shirley said, you've enabled them, so now they
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: ain't got to find a way.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: We're in the backyard smoking weed.
- 1:02:46Speaker 8: We got a roof over our head, we got some
- 1:02:48Speaker 8: neat and we can get around.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: So what do we need to do anything for if
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: we put them out?
- 1:02:57Speaker 8: What can they they I'm sorry, we have no way
- 1:03:01Speaker 8: to take They have no way to get care of
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: themselves if we put them out. What can we do
- 1:03:05Speaker 8: to get these grown ups out of here? First of all,
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: you need to set a deadline. That's for starters. You
- 1:03:12Speaker 8: all have six months to find a job. Whoever doesn't
- 1:03:17Speaker 8: have a job will be staying with the one that
- 1:03:21Speaker 8: does have a job. But everybody got six months to
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: find a job. Secondly, you and your husband stop cooking
- 1:03:30Speaker 8: at home and y'all go out to dinner.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: I don't care if it's to go up to Popeyes.
- 1:03:35Speaker 8: I don't give a damn if it's to go get
- 1:03:36Speaker 8: salad that Windy's a bar salad bar.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: I don't give a damn. If it's go to Gym
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: and Nicks, I don't care what it is.
- 1:03:43Speaker 8: Y'all need to stop cooking, starve they ass out.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: See, stop making conveniences. Yeah, so stop cooking, go out
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: to dinner.
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: Set a deadline, and then they have to realize consequences
- 1:03:59Speaker 8: you have. I have to allow life to hand them
- 1:04:04Speaker 8: what they putting in. See, you get out of life
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: what you put in. So if you don't allow your
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: kids to suffer consequences, Daddy, can I borrow some money?
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: What you need?
- 1:04:16Speaker 8: And then they tell me, I'm under no obligation to
- 1:04:20Speaker 8: give you the money. It depends on what's happening in
- 1:04:23Speaker 8: your life. And I'm telling you right now, for the
- 1:04:26Speaker 8: most part, I forced them to figure it out. I
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: forced them to figure it out. And you know what,
- 1:04:35Speaker 8: they go do They go and figure it out because
- 1:04:39Speaker 8: you know what we all did. We all struggle to
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: give our kids a better life than the one we
- 1:04:46Speaker 8: had and in that process, you all, we created a
- 1:04:50Speaker 8: safety net for them that we didn't have. And so now,
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: guess what they do. They keep diving and laying in
- 1:04:57Speaker 8: the damn net. And that's all they do because they
- 1:05:03Speaker 8: think they're smart and they take advantage of the safety net.
- 1:05:06Speaker 8: You have to remove the net. True, I'm sorry. It's
- 1:05:12Speaker 8: the only way to make it happen.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: Yep. And let them figure it out. That's the only
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: way to do it. Deadline. You gotta get your ass out.
- 1:05:20Speaker 11: That's right, Steve.
- 1:05:22Speaker 15: Post your comments on Today's Strawberry Letter at Steve Harvey
- 1:05:25Speaker 15: FM on Instagram and Facebook. Check out the Strawberry Letter
- 1:05:27Speaker 15: podcast on demand.
- 1:05:29Speaker 10: You're listening Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:05:33Speaker 15: Okay, here's the question, what about the current world? What
- 1:05:37Speaker 15: about the current world would be most surprising to your
- 1:05:41Speaker 15: younger self? All right, Steve, So do you think the
- 1:05:44Speaker 15: most surprising thing about the current world your younger self
- 1:05:47Speaker 15: would be upset and shocked about is how people can
- 1:05:50Speaker 15: actually make a living as influencers, you know, influencers taking
- 1:05:55Speaker 15: pictures of themselves posting them on the internet on social media.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: Oh what I been shocked at that?
- 1:06:01Speaker 7: Just that? Oh?
- 1:06:02Speaker 8: Hell yeah, because all I knew was hard work. I
- 1:06:04Speaker 8: just I just saw my daddy hard work. I ain't
- 1:06:06Speaker 8: never knew, no, if when influenced who there were no
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: cell phones? Who how you gonna influence them? And ain't
- 1:06:16Speaker 8: but three TV stations?
- 1:06:19Speaker 11: So now.
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: What are you fitting to do? I would be stunned.
- 1:06:25Speaker 8: I'm stunned anyway. I mean, like I'm to be honest
- 1:06:28Speaker 8: with you as my current self, I'm still amazed at
- 1:06:32Speaker 8: the fact and I'm really opening my eyes to the
- 1:06:34Speaker 8: fact that these young people have another way of earning
- 1:06:38Speaker 8: a living and it's not the route we took.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: And it's been a struggle for me admitting to that.
- 1:06:44Speaker 15: So okay, So that's that's another part too, the part
- 1:06:47Speaker 15: two of this question, what would your younger self find shocking?
- 1:06:51Speaker 11: What else would you find shocking?
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Cell phone? Cell phone?
- 1:06:56Speaker 10: Cell phones?
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: Cell phones, it's unthinkable. That was one of the greatest
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: inventions party just right up there, my unthinkabout that.
- 1:07:07Speaker 8: And a computer that you can type in information and
- 1:07:10Speaker 8: it talk talk back to.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: You Siri.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: In your phone, Siri Alexa dog dog.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: We had to call phone one one, right, Yeah, we.
- 1:07:23Speaker 15: Had to call for one one to a live operator
- 1:07:26Speaker 15: and she didn't know how to time right.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: Oh, you had to have all the information and she
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: would say, I don't see that, I need more information.
- 1:07:34Speaker 14: Dog, Hold up, hold up a phone book, Hello you two.
- 1:07:42Speaker 8: Bro, Because if you was looking for John Smith and
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: opened the phone.
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: Book, dog, give me a picture.
- 1:07:52Speaker 8: Which Smith is a lot of down that line, just
- 1:07:56Speaker 8: trying to call and hope that little girl.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Answer the phone.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: What little girl?
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Uh huh?
- 1:08:01Speaker 8: John Smith for daddy name. I got to go down
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: leeve Smith. I don't have her phone number.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: I got a call and ship.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Are you liked when you were young?
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Cuss out? Hung up on it?
- 1:08:12Speaker 8: I wish you that would bring you little black ass
- 1:08:15Speaker 8: by here, Come on by here.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: She don't live here, but come by you.
- 1:08:21Speaker 11: What about landlines with that real long extension cord?
- 1:08:25Speaker 8: Go on out, my man, My daddy bought her fifty
- 1:08:28Speaker 8: foot that he could talk on the porch. We thought
- 1:08:30Speaker 8: that was the coolest thing in the world, that porch talking.
- 1:08:33Speaker 8: But you tried to take that phone out on the
- 1:08:35Speaker 8: porch and talk. But look the hell you going with
- 1:08:37Speaker 8: that phone. You ain't brought no cord in here.
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: All right?

- 1:10:03Speaker 13: be looking at you. Okay, don't throw yourself out trying
- 1:10:08Speaker 13: to look at it.
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:10:10Speaker 12: Things you say to the family to let you know
- 1:10:11Speaker 12: that your date is not attractive.
- 1:10:13Speaker 23: You know what, I really think it's great we have
- 1:10:14Speaker 23: matching hairlines.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: I really do think.
- 1:10:19Speaker 16: Ways to say your date that isn't really that attract
- 1:10:24Speaker 16: You know what, she looked like her daddy, but she

- 1:13:26Speaker 15: J Anthony's j Anthony Brown's comedy Roulette. We'll have more
- 1:13:29Speaker 15: of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up at twenty
- 1:13:31Speaker 15: minutes after the hour.
- 1:13:33Speaker 11: Right after this.
- 1:13:35Speaker 10: You're listening Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:13:40Speaker 17: All right.
- 1:13:40Speaker 11: So here's a question.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Is Generation Z over social media?
- 1:13:45Speaker 15: Really? Well?
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: It could be because it's heart huh.
- 1:13:48Speaker 15: It could be because as hard as it is to
- 1:13:50Speaker 15: believe the generation raised on social media, Generation Z may
- 1:13:55Speaker 15: be growing tired of it by now. Last year, the
- 1:13:58Speaker 15: University of Chicago published a report that found that fifty
- 1:14:01Speaker 15: seven percent of college students who are active users of
- 1:14:05Speaker 15: Instagram would quote prefer to live in a world without
- 1:14:10Speaker 15: the platform. Researchers ask the students how much they would
- 1:14:14Speaker 15: have to be paid to get rid of their social media,
- 1:14:16Speaker 15: and the average answer about fifty dollars. Some fifty dollars
- 1:14:22Speaker 15: would make them make their social media go away. So
- 1:14:26Speaker 15: do you guys agree that life would be better without
- 1:14:30Speaker 15: social media?
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: I do? It might be I like it, Mike, Oh no,
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: da oh, I like it. No, wait.
- 1:14:45Speaker 15: Right now, because we didn't have it growing up, and
- 1:14:48Speaker 15: we were fine.
- 1:14:49Speaker 9: We weren't just fine.
- 1:14:50Speaker 11: Yeah, we turned out fine.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: Well, I'm liking for what. I don't need it.
- 1:14:54Speaker 8: I don't need it to be successful, and I show
- 1:14:57Speaker 8: don't need it to find out the lies.
- 1:14:59Speaker 9: That's how.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: Me and my wife brother David Steve. Are we still together?
- 1:15:07Speaker 8: I say, yeah, baby, papass was taking pictures of me,
- 1:15:11Speaker 8: so I just wanted to came back over there. Yeah,
- 1:15:14Speaker 8: everything fine, I didn't hear anything.
- 1:15:16Speaker 15: All right, coming up in thirty three minutes after the hour,
- 1:15:19Speaker 15: we'll play around it. Would you rather right after this
- 1:15:23Speaker 15: you're listening hard morning show. It is time now for
- 1:15:27Speaker 15: would you rather let's play around, let's get into it.
- 1:15:30Speaker 15: Would you rather sing everything you speak? Or would you
- 1:15:35Speaker 15: rather dance every time you walk?
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: I'm saying everything else.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Hey, we know that's what you.
- 1:15:43Speaker 9: I'm nothing to be that happy ass black.
- 1:15:45Speaker 22: Person dancing every time you walk, doing a little jig.
- 1:15:51Speaker 11: So sing something?
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: See you ask me a question?
- 1:15:55Speaker 15: Tell okay, what time is our meeting today? Our conference
- 1:15:58Speaker 15: call am of the.
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: Meeting will be somewhere about a quarter to three.
- 1:16:08Speaker 8: I want you call the Tommy, I want Junior corn

- 1:16:36Speaker 11: He sings everything just his house will be long. Yes, yes,
- 1:16:42Speaker 11: all right.
- 1:16:43Speaker 15: So here's another one. Would you rather have Christmas twice
- 1:16:47Speaker 15: a year? Or would you rather have your birthday twice
- 1:16:50Speaker 15: a year?
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: Birthday?
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: You rather have a birthday?
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Hell yeah, hell yeah?
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: Why not?
- 1:16:57Speaker 9: Christmas?
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: I got you money, I got to spend on marching.
- 1:17:05Speaker 8: Already, got Galentown Day, mother Day, damn anniversary, her birthday?
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: Huh hell no, we can do Christmas.
- 1:17:11Speaker 23: Choice, okay, perspective I got you, okay, coins yeah, okay,
- 1:17:22Speaker 23: all right?
- 1:17:22Speaker 15: Would you rather be the commissioner of the NFL or
- 1:17:26Speaker 15: be the general manager of your favorite NFL team?
- 1:17:30Speaker 7: Oh?
- 1:17:31Speaker 15: Would you rather be the commissioner of the NFL? Or
- 1:17:34Speaker 15: would you rather be the general manager of your favorite
- 1:17:36Speaker 15: NFL sports team?
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: Ain't doing nothing? I need to be out front and
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: be the commissioner.
- 1:17:42Speaker 8: Yeah, commission and the check wave that I'll tell you
- 1:17:45Speaker 8: right now, DeShawn Watson would be playing for the Browns
- 1:17:49Speaker 8: right now.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: He would be what.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: Playing for the Browns? No criminal charges?
- 1:17:57Speaker 15: We have none, So the commissioner could be out Brian.
- 1:18:05Speaker 12: Okay, what about you, commission he wouldn't be in Cleveland
- 1:18:10Speaker 12: if I was the commissioner.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: Okay, well, good thing, you're the last. Ain't a commissioner?
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Thank you guys. That is today's roundup.
- 1:18:24Speaker 15: Would you rather coming up at forty nine minutes after
- 1:18:27Speaker 15: the hour, the last break of the day and Steve
- 1:18:29Speaker 15: Harvey's closing remarks right after this you're listening morning show?
- 1:18:35Speaker 15: All right? Here we are, guys, last break of the
- 1:18:37Speaker 15: day on this Monday.
- 1:18:40Speaker 8: Hey, I got I got something I want to share
- 1:18:43Speaker 8: with you all today. Okay, you know today when I
- 1:18:48Speaker 8: woke up this morning. I didn't do my usual meditation
- 1:18:55Speaker 8: every morning, and I missed about three days in a row.
- 1:19:00Speaker 8: My early morning meditation. I always get up. It's something
- 1:19:03Speaker 8: I've been doing for a little while now. I started
- 1:19:06Speaker 8: it last summer, and I very rarely miss a day.
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: I've been very very happy about that. The benefit of
- 1:19:15Speaker 8: it is it gives me a moment alone before the
- 1:19:20Speaker 8: hectic part of the day begins, and before the phone
- 1:19:24Speaker 8: starts ringing, and before I you know, I used to
- 1:19:26Speaker 8: wake up and look at my emails and my text
- 1:19:29Speaker 8: and get started, and I stopped doing that. And it's
- 1:19:33Speaker 8: been a big refresher for me in my life because
- 1:19:37Speaker 8: I just felt like I was starting my day wrong.
- 1:19:40Speaker 8: I needed to have some spirituality bought into my life
- 1:19:44Speaker 8: first thing in the morning, and I found that. Ever
- 1:19:48Speaker 8: since the summer, that's been a very very important aspect.
- 1:19:51Speaker 8: It's been very calming for me. It has been very
- 1:19:57Speaker 8: very invigorating. It has helped me change where a lot
- 1:20:01Speaker 8: of my days start. But that alone time that I
- 1:20:04Speaker 8: spend having my spiritual moment with my creator is the
- 1:20:09Speaker 8: way I've chosen to do it. I want to tell
- 1:20:12Speaker 8: you all something. If you haven't tried that. Give it
- 1:20:16Speaker 8: a try. It's something about the early morning hours before
- 1:20:20Speaker 8: you start hearing trafficing, before you turn the TV on
- 1:20:25Speaker 8: or answer emails or texts. It's something about the quiet
- 1:20:30Speaker 8: of early morning, before the house starts moving around and
- 1:20:34Speaker 8: plates clanging and stuff like that, and door shutting.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: It's an amazing time to get.
- 1:20:42Speaker 8: In touch with your spirituality. And I suggest just give
- 1:20:47Speaker 8: it a try. You know, it may not be for you.
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: It may not. I don't know you, but it happens
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: a lot.
- 1:20:58Speaker 8: I was reading a scripture once doing this thing, and
- 1:21:02Speaker 8: it was saying that I'm paraphrasing it because it show
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: ain't what it said exactly, but I will come with
- 1:21:08Speaker 8: you in the early mornings and hear your cry. And
- 1:21:13Speaker 8: so it has been very beneficial to me. And this morning,
- 1:21:18Speaker 8: in particular, after spending about three days not doing it, today,
- 1:21:25Speaker 8: I sat down and all I did in my journal,
- 1:21:31Speaker 8: because I have a Bible, I have a daily devotional,
- 1:21:34Speaker 8: I have a journal. All I did in my journal
- 1:21:36Speaker 8: this morning was I began to write out everything.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: I could think of that I wanted to thank him for.
- 1:21:49Speaker 8: I just put a list of things I was grateful for,
- 1:21:55Speaker 8: and the next thing, I know, I had filled.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: Up two pages, I mean two complete pages in my journal.
- 1:22:03Speaker 8: You know, now it's not a piece of notebook paper,
- 1:22:06Speaker 8: you know they're going to three ring binder, but it's
- 1:22:10Speaker 8: a substantial piece of paper.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: And I filled it.
- 1:22:14Speaker 8: Up because I was just I couldn't stop writing, and
- 1:22:19Speaker 8: I was writing everything. I think him for safe passage
- 1:22:24Speaker 8: and the airways. I thanked him for my children's health.
- 1:22:28Speaker 8: I thanked him for guidance. I started thinking him for
- 1:22:33Speaker 8: everything that he's done for me that I pray about,
- 1:22:37Speaker 8: and the things that he's done for me that I
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: don't pray about.
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: I thank him for my breath. I thanked him for
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: my measure of health.
- 1:22:44Speaker 8: I thanked him for being able to have a lifestyle
- 1:22:48Speaker 8: beyond my dreams.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: I was thinking him for.
- 1:22:53Speaker 8: The ability to dress myself. I was thanking him for
- 1:22:59Speaker 8: going to the super Bowl, for having a successful NFL honors,
- 1:23:04Speaker 8: for meeting people, for taking on the mantra that I
- 1:23:08Speaker 8: didn't want to complain. So I've cut back on that.
- 1:23:11Speaker 8: I haven't stopped completely. You know, I'm catching myself every
- 1:23:15Speaker 8: now and then, but I've been so far. I've cut
- 1:23:18Speaker 8: down on complaining drastically and I'm thank him for that
- 1:23:21Speaker 8: because instead of complaining, whenever I feel like I want
- 1:23:25Speaker 8: to complain about something, I find a way to be grateful.
- 1:23:28Speaker 8: I find something to be grateful for. So I've I've
- 1:23:31Speaker 8: replaced complaining with gratitude.
- 1:23:35Speaker 9: Wow.
- 1:23:36Speaker 8: Wow, what a game changer, What an amazing mental state
- 1:23:41Speaker 8: that puts you in if you could exchange complaining for gratitude.
- 1:23:48Speaker 8: Gratitude is a very very underrated principle of success. Not
- 1:23:56Speaker 8: many people talk about it. But the more grateful you are,
- 1:24:00Speaker 8: the more things grate God will give you to be
- 1:24:04Speaker 8: grateful for. The more grateful you are, the more thing
- 1:24:07Speaker 8: God God will give to you to be grateful for.
- 1:24:10Speaker 8: That's a fact. That's a fact. And so I'm suggesting
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: to everybody get up a little bit earlier and spend
- 1:24:24Speaker 8: twenty minutes, fifteen minutes, let's start there.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: The more you could do, the better.
- 1:24:32Speaker 8: But if you could start with ten quiet minutes with
- 1:24:36Speaker 8: just you and you and God, and I don't care
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: what faith you're in, just you and God. Just spend
- 1:24:44Speaker 8: some time talking with him, thanking him, telling him what
- 1:24:47Speaker 8: you want, telling him what you need, asking for the
- 1:24:51Speaker 8: help that you want. But tell him you love him
- 1:24:54Speaker 8: and tell him and tell him you're trying to get
- 1:24:56Speaker 8: it right and you need some helping, and tell him
- 1:24:59Speaker 8: what you want and thank you. It's an amazing way
- 1:25:03Speaker 8: to start your day. Just give it a thought. Shop
- 1:25:05Speaker 8: that's all. Those are my closes, room loss.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Have a nice days. Talk to guy who's going to be real.
