- 1:31Speaker 2: I got to turn the mouth.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Turn you probably got to turn the mouth and turn out,
- 1:46Speaker 1: turn the water of the monico.
- 1:49Speaker 5: Look me, come.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Come on, you're thinking that? Aha, I said, will come
- 2:04Speaker 2: on it.
- 2:04Speaker 6: Everybody y'all listening to the voice, come on, dig me
- 2:07Speaker 6: nowt what it only Steve Harvey got.
- 2:10Speaker 2: A radio show man. Oh man, ain't God good? Yeah?
- 2:14Speaker 6: Yes, hey, you know I want to remind everybody today
- 2:18Speaker 6: that you got to keep pressing forward.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Man.
- 2:21Speaker 6: I know it gets difficult out there sometimes, but you
- 2:23Speaker 6: got to keep pressing forward. There's nothing else for you
- 2:27Speaker 6: to do. The option of quitting, turning back, giving up
- 2:31Speaker 6: it cannot be there. The thoughts can pop into your head,
- 2:35Speaker 6: but when they do, you got to pray about it.
- 2:38Speaker 6: But you got to keep pressing forward. You got to
- 2:40Speaker 6: keep it moving, man. I don't care how dark and
- 2:44Speaker 6: dirty you get. For you, you got to somehow summon
- 2:47Speaker 6: it up within you to keep it moving, to keep
- 2:50Speaker 6: pressing forward, because the only way you're gonna get it
- 2:52Speaker 6: is you got to stay in the race. You know,
- 2:55Speaker 6: you've heard it said a thousand times. The race isn't
- 2:57Speaker 6: given to the swift, but to him that'll do it
- 2:59Speaker 6: to the end. You got to stay with it, whatever
- 3:01Speaker 6: it is. I don't know what it is for you,
- 3:03Speaker 6: but whatever it is, you got to stay with it
- 3:05Speaker 6: because quin don't Quentin, don't let you see the end result,
- 3:10Speaker 6: give it up. Don't let you see the end results.
- 3:12Speaker 6: Turning back, don't let you see the end. The only
- 3:14Speaker 6: way to see the end results is you got to
- 3:16Speaker 6: finish the race. You got to stay in the race
- 3:19Speaker 6: because the victory may be nearer than it seems. There's
- 3:22Speaker 6: a poem I learned in college under some stressful situations
- 3:26Speaker 6: I've just said like that. There is a stanza in
- 3:29Speaker 6: this poem called don't Quit that says, often the goal
- 3:33Speaker 6: is nearer than it seems to a faint and a
- 3:37Speaker 6: faltering man. And often the struggler has given up when
- 3:43Speaker 6: he might have captured the victor's cup, and he learns
- 3:47Speaker 6: too late, when the night came down, how close he
- 3:51Speaker 6: was to the golden crown. Now that's just a Stanza
- 3:55Speaker 6: in it. The poem is much longer than that. I
- 3:57Speaker 6: know the whole thing because I learned, But I've always
- 4:02Speaker 6: remembered that poem that the goal is often nearer than
- 4:08Speaker 6: it seems to a faint and a faltering man. And
- 4:12Speaker 6: oftentimes the struggler has given up when he might have
- 4:16Speaker 6: captured the victor's cup, but then he learns too late,
- 4:20Speaker 6: when the night came down, how close he was to
- 4:23Speaker 6: the golden crown. And there's the last stands of the
- 4:26Speaker 6: poem says, it may be near when it seems afar,
- 4:30Speaker 6: so stick to the fight when your heart is tit.
- 4:33Speaker 6: It's when things seem worse that you mustn't quit. That
- 4:37Speaker 6: that poem is really there's an it's an unknown author
- 4:40Speaker 6: to the poem, so if you want to look it up,
- 4:42Speaker 6: it's called don't Quit. The author is unknown. They never
- 4:46Speaker 6: knew who it was. But you know, I'm talking to
- 4:48Speaker 6: you today from the standpoint of encouragement.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I won't.
- 4:51Speaker 6: I want to show you an analogy that I've tripped
- 4:53Speaker 6: on this morning when I was thinking about something I
- 4:57Speaker 6: wanted and I was thinking, you know, okay, if you
- 5:00Speaker 6: have a job, the way you have to do your job,
- 5:03Speaker 6: your job forces you to do this, so you can't
- 5:05Speaker 6: just randomly do this on your job.
- 5:08Speaker 2: A job forces you to plan ahead a little bit,
- 5:11Speaker 2: you know.
- 5:12Speaker 6: A job requires that you go through the procedures in
- 5:14Speaker 6: order for something to happen that you want to happen. Example,
- 5:18Speaker 6: you want a vacation, you have to put in for
- 5:21Speaker 6: that vacation, and that's what it's called on your job,
- 5:24Speaker 6: just put in. You may dress it up some other way,
- 5:26Speaker 6: but the common sense you have to put in. You
- 5:29Speaker 6: got to do that because the job requires it. You
- 5:31Speaker 6: got to put in for your vacation. If you want
- 5:34Speaker 6: a promotion and you see it post it somewhere that
- 5:38Speaker 6: we are now have a position opening, you got to
- 5:40Speaker 6: put in for that.
- 5:41Speaker 2: You just can't sit back and hope they pick.
- 5:44Speaker 6: You, because they're probably going to pick the person who
- 5:48Speaker 6: wants it, who shows the initiative to go get it.
- 5:51Speaker 6: So you have to put in for a promotion on
- 5:53Speaker 6: a lot of jobs. If you want some days off,
- 5:57Speaker 6: you got to put in for that. All of these
- 6:00Speaker 6: are things that you want. You want vacations, you want
- 6:03Speaker 6: a day off here, and now you want some promotions.
- 6:06Speaker 6: If you want a raise, you have to go in
- 6:09Speaker 6: and request a raise. It requires an action on your
- 6:14Speaker 6: part on your job. And guess what, we've all accepted
- 6:17Speaker 6: this as this is the way it's done. You want
- 6:19Speaker 6: to raise, you have to put in for a raise.
- 6:21Speaker 6: You want to raise, you got to go in and
- 6:23Speaker 6: have a meeting and take a request so you can
- 6:25Speaker 6: show your value to get to raise. You want a
- 6:27Speaker 6: vacation time, you got to put in for that, and
- 6:29Speaker 6: then they got to They can tell you, yeah, your name,
- 6:31Speaker 6: You want a promotion, same thing, you want some days off,
- 6:34Speaker 6: same thing.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Okay, that's the deal with your job. Well, that's the
- 6:37Speaker 2: deal with your life too.
- 6:39Speaker 6: That exact picture that I painted for you that you're
- 6:41Speaker 6: all so very much aware of that you're very crystal
- 6:44Speaker 6: clear on the rules and regulations that you have no
- 6:46Speaker 6: problem following him the same rules for your life. What
- 6:49Speaker 6: you mean by that, Steve, You got to put in
- 6:51Speaker 6: with God. You got to put in for what you
- 6:54Speaker 6: want with God all you. And it's as simple as
- 6:57Speaker 6: that you put in you want some more of this,
- 7:00Speaker 6: some more that you got to put in with God.
- 7:03Speaker 6: You put in with your job. You go down there
- 7:04Speaker 6: and ask that man what you want, and you ain't
- 7:06Speaker 6: got no problem following the rules, Well, put in with God?
- 7:10Speaker 1: What you want?
- 7:11Speaker 2: What your list?
- 7:12Speaker 6: What's your request? What do you really want? How much
- 7:16Speaker 6: money you really trying to make? Where you really trying
- 7:19Speaker 6: to live? What kind of career and job would you
- 7:21Speaker 6: really like to have? What kind of person would you
- 7:24Speaker 6: really like to be? What type of family are you
- 7:27Speaker 6: hoping and wishing for? Who is the person you want
- 7:30Speaker 6: in your life? What type of person do you what's
- 7:31Speaker 6: the relationship you're looking for?
- 7:33Speaker 2: What you want? You got to put in for that.
- 7:36Speaker 2: You got to put in. You got to go to
- 7:38Speaker 2: God and put in for that.
- 7:39Speaker 6: See, we'll follow the rules set to us up, set
- 7:42Speaker 6: us up and set up by us in a system.
- 7:44Speaker 6: But we simple rules of putting in for your life. Man,
- 7:48Speaker 6: we don't even do that. I wish I would put
- 7:50Speaker 6: in for a job and not put in for God.
- 7:52Speaker 6: You gotta be kidding me. You think this man that
- 7:54Speaker 6: has this company can has more to offer to you
- 7:57Speaker 6: in terms of vacation, promos and raisers than God I
- 8:00Speaker 6: got for you for your life. Man, you keep putting
- 8:02Speaker 6: too much faith in Man, that's what's wrong with us.
- 8:05Speaker 6: I show hope he give me his raise. I'll show
- 8:07Speaker 6: I don't even go to people with that, I go
- 8:09Speaker 6: to God about it. Then God touched them people's hearts.
- 8:12Speaker 6: Then when I walk in there, it's already done. That's
- 8:15Speaker 6: how you capture this thing, folks. It's not a magic trick.
- 8:19Speaker 6: It's just a real simple understanding. Why would you not
- 8:23Speaker 6: put in with God? If you're gonna put in on
- 8:24Speaker 6: your job, that don't make no sense. Where you get
- 8:26Speaker 6: the job from? Where your job? Where your boss get
- 8:29Speaker 6: his position from? Where did this company come from? So
- 8:32Speaker 6: when you peel back to but now, it all make
- 8:34Speaker 6: a lot of sense, don't it?
- 8:35Speaker 2: It really does. And I'm just a common sense god.
- 8:38Speaker 4: You know.
- 8:38Speaker 6: Look, I don't have the education that a lot of
- 8:39Speaker 6: people have, but I gotta show show enough bunch of
- 8:43Speaker 6: life experience. Though Oh I've been I've been getting smacked
- 8:46Speaker 6: and knocked down the majority of my life. Oh I
- 8:49Speaker 6: may look good to you now there look like he
- 8:51Speaker 6: got his shy and going on. And I am grateful
- 8:53Speaker 6: to God for my life that I got now because
- 8:55Speaker 6: this show ain't the one I had. But I got
- 8:57Speaker 6: news for you. It ain't the one I thought I
- 8:59Speaker 6: was gonna have till I put in for it. I
- 9:01Speaker 6: ain't see none of this until I put in for it.
- 9:03Speaker 6: And you know, as I saw it shaping and forming,
- 9:06Speaker 6: and I said, God, could that really be happening?
- 9:08Speaker 2: I wonder if you could make me this? Lord.
- 9:11Speaker 6: I was wondering, Man, could I really have a syndicated
- 9:14Speaker 6: radio show? Lord, make it happen. If it's in your will,
- 9:17Speaker 6: I put in for it, put in for it now.
- 9:20Speaker 6: I'm working my tail off now because that's a part
- 9:22Speaker 6: of it.
- 9:23Speaker 5: See.
- 9:23Speaker 6: But then God tells you that too. He says, faith
- 9:26Speaker 6: without works is dead. So I got a bunch of
- 9:28Speaker 6: more stuff that I don't put in for God. I
- 9:29Speaker 6: can't tell y'all what it is, but oh Lord, have mercy.
- 9:33Speaker 6: I'm in line. I'm putting in for all the blessings
- 9:36Speaker 6: that due me. If God's passing out of raising blessings,
- 9:40Speaker 6: I'm lined up. He passing out a promotion. He's going
- 9:43Speaker 6: to promote some more blessings. I'm lined up. He want
- 9:46Speaker 6: to send me on a bigger vacation. I'm lined up.
- 9:49Speaker 6: He passing out extra checks down at the job. I'm
- 9:53Speaker 6: lined up because I'm putting in. Why don't you put
- 9:56Speaker 6: in too? Come on, y'all, talk to God.
- 9:57Speaker 2: He loved it. It from me.

- 57:27Speaker 1: we argue over stupid stuff all the time. His dad
- 57:31Speaker 1: knows the stuff. It's stupid, but he's always on my
- 57:33Speaker 1: husband's side. I texted an online therapist for help and
- 57:38Speaker 1: was told that if the group thinks I'm wrong, then
- 57:40Speaker 1: I'm wrong, so I need your opinion. I take care
- 57:44Speaker 1: of all the laundry and dry cleaning. My husband will
- 57:48Speaker 1: want to wear a particular shirt one day, but it's
- 57:50Speaker 1: still at the dry cleaners. I told him to communicate
- 57:53Speaker 1: with me and that can stop happening. He will say
- 57:57Speaker 1: things like, we don't have any children, so why can't
- 57:59Speaker 1: I go to the dry cleaner? More often, his parents
- 58:02Speaker 1: have agreed with him on little issues like this, when
- 58:06Speaker 1: the underlying issue is they're mad because they want grandchildren
- 58:09Speaker 1: and I'm not ready. I'm not having a baby with
- 58:12Speaker 1: a man that talks down to me and picks fights
- 58:15Speaker 1: over petty ds. When his mom talks to me crazy
- 58:18Speaker 1: and I tell her to watch her tone, he sides
- 58:21Speaker 1: with her. I don't have my family, and I don't
- 58:24Speaker 1: have my family and our personal affairs, so why can't
- 58:26Speaker 1: he keep them out of our business?
- 58:29Speaker 4: Well?
- 58:29Speaker 1: I think that's kind of simple. It seems like they've
- 58:33Speaker 1: coddled him all of his life, and he's really never
- 58:36Speaker 1: stood up to them about anything, especially you know about
- 58:40Speaker 1: you his spouse. They still treat him like he's their
- 58:42Speaker 1: little boy, and anyone who speaks up or challenges him
- 58:46Speaker 1: like you is the enemy or she should know her
- 58:49Speaker 1: place or whatever. And he never followed that principle in
- 58:52Speaker 1: the Bible that says, you know, to leave all others
- 58:56Speaker 1: and cleave to the white. He doesn't put you or
- 58:58Speaker 1: the marriage first. There's also a saying that goes what
- 59:02Speaker 1: happens in the house stays in the house or house business,
- 59:05Speaker 1: and there's no way that as a grown man, he
- 59:08Speaker 1: should be running back to his parents telling them what
- 59:11Speaker 1: goes on at home. Of course, they're going to dislike
- 59:15Speaker 1: you and resent you if he's only telling one side
- 59:17Speaker 1: of the story. I mean, do you and your husband
- 59:21Speaker 1: even like each other? Because it doesn't sound like it.
- 59:24Speaker 1: I mean, what is all this arguing and fighting about anyway?
- 59:28Speaker 1: And why are you guys arguing in front of his folks.
- 59:33Speaker 1: You really need to stop that because if you do
- 59:35Speaker 1: it in front of them, they're most likely going to
- 59:38Speaker 1: be in the business. I would say, don't even respond
- 59:41Speaker 1: when his mom talks to you crazy, because telling her
- 59:44Speaker 1: to watch her tone is disrespectful and that's why he
- 59:47Speaker 1: sides with her. You know, it just sounds crazy. That
- 59:51Speaker 1: sounds crazy too. I think this can be fixed if
- 59:54Speaker 1: you guys stop being so petty with each other and
- 59:57Speaker 1: just grow up. The both of you should seek marital counseling,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: and please don't have a baby until after you finish
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: your therapy sessions, please, Steve.
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: Well Well Well this type of letter that I specialize
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: in because it's called reading between the lines?
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: Whose side is he on? When you say who? Who
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: do you mean? Who is he?
- 1:00:24Speaker 6: She must be referring to her husband. Well throughout the letter,
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: it ain't on your side. So let's just figure this out.
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: This Stephen Shirley, my husband and I bicker a lot.
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: He repeats things to his mom and daddy, and they
- 1:00:38Speaker 6: judge me from what he's told them.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Mama's boy. Over the holidays, we.
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: Went to his parents' house in Ohio, and I was
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: miserable the entire time because his mom is a trip
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: mama's boy. Before we got married, we got into a
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: huge argument in front of his parents, and his mother
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: told me that I should know my place with my
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: husband and stop challenging him whenever he tells me things
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: mama's boy. I understood that and promise myself that I
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: would do better.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: You can't.
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: You're married to a mama's boy. Her advice has continued.
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: That's cause he's a mama's boy. And four years later,
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: she still only has advice for me when my husband
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: and I get into argument.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: Mama's boy. Yes, we argu over stupid stuff all the time.
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: His dad knows the stuff's stupid, but he's always on
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: my husband's side.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: He's scared at a mama too. I text an online
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: now here we go.
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: I text and online therapists for help and was told
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: if the group thinks I'm wrong, then I'm wrong.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Now you know me and therapist. But therapy is real.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: So if you're gonna go, I suggest you get off line.
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: Sound to me like you need to go, sit somewhere
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: and see somebody lie see you on line telling them
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: what's wrong.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: And they can't see your face.
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: Therapists work better when they can see your face, when
- 1:02:19Speaker 6: they can hear you heavy breathing, you know, when they
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: do a response you don't like and you fold your arms.
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: See all this can't come across on line, you know,
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: like even when we zoom. You can't tell the whole
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: story when we zoom it. See, you don't really know
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: what I'm doing right now, not everything. You can't see
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: both my hands. You don't know what I'm doing.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: See. That's why on line therapy might not be best
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: for you.
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: You need to take your somewhere and see somebody live
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: because think you wrong, then you wrong. Then while the
- 1:02:52Speaker 6: hell you go talk to the group instead of therapist.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: All that thought, Steve. Okay, Well, in part two of
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: your response coming up at twenty three minute, and it's
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: after the hour, Today's Strawberry letter subject whose side is
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: he on? We'll get back into it right after this.

- 1:03:44Speaker 1: globelife Radio dot com. All right, Steve, come on, let's
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: recap today's strawberry letter. The subject whose side is he on?
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: Well, you know, we done talked about this being a
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: mama's boy, and I think that's what's true, because a
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: lot of stuff in here when they argue, she take
- 1:04:00Speaker 6: his side. Mama's boy. Every time they have a disputy,
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: run home and tell his mommy and daddy, mama's boy,
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: you know you ought to know your place with your
- 1:04:09Speaker 6: husband and stop challenging whatever he tell you. Think that's
- 1:04:11Speaker 6: what his mama said to you. That's because here mama's boy.
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: His father know y'all all over stupid stuff, but he
- 1:04:17Speaker 6: takes his son's side too. That's cause the daddy scared
- 1:04:20Speaker 6: of the mama too. Okay, now we didne got this
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: cleared up. The mama's running things over there, So now
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: you done got so tired of this that you'd HAVEE
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: decided to go to an online therapist for help, and
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: was told that if the group thinks I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: My suggestion is you need to quit going online to
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: this therapist. You need to take your down to her office.
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: You need somebody to see your face in your therapist sasy.
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: You need somebody somebody hear you heavy breathing.
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: To see.
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: A therapist can help you better if they see all
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: the nuances of your frustration, lip smacking, heavy breathing, underbreath moterings.
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: They needs to hit it for a therapist to help you,
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: They need to hear it. He ain't getting it online,
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: So I suggest going down that line. Now here we go,
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: so I need your opinion. I take care of all
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: our laundry and dry cleaning. My husband will want to
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: wear a particular shirt one day, but it's still at
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: the dry cleaners. I told him to communicate with me,
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: and that can stop happening. He will say things like,
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: we don't have any children, so why can't I go
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: through the dry cleaner's more often.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: Let's hate this line right here, this poet statement. Right here.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: You do all the dry cleaning.
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: Your husband wants to wear a particular shirt one day,
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: but it's at the dry cleaner.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: You told him to communicate with you more. Now his
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: need two shirts? That's all this is? See what is
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: you in my bast this little red, funky little shirt.
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: You're talking about when you just need another shirt, and
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: then he gonna tell you we ain't got no kids.
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: You ought to be able to go to the dry
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: cleaning more. If we ain't got no kids, you don't
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: be buying another shirt. See, you gotta get this stuff
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: off you. You keep letting them dump stuff on you
- 1:06:22Speaker 6: with his inadequate behind that his shortcomings as a man.
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: He's gotta run to his mama with everything. He can't
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: afford two shirts. What y'all finna have a baby for?
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: You know much stuff you got to buy for a baby.
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: He can't even afford another shirt, y'all arguing about stupid stuff.
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: He want a particular shirt and it's at the dry cleaning.
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: You just wanted shirt Monday, this Thursday. Everybody gonna see
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: you with that shirt on.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: Because you know you like it.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: Because he's got the little bumble bee on the collar.
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: He got one Gucci shirt. Now he want everybody to
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: see he got it on. Told you have to buy
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: the shirt with the bumble bee on neck anywhere because
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: everybody gonna know it's the same shirt.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: When you poe.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: You can't get extravagant stuff.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: You got to stay simple, take your down to Mace's
- 1:07:11Speaker 6: and get you white shirt and you wear it many times.
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: You want you, Oh no, you gonna go down there
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: and get to goot your white shirt with the bee
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: on the collar. Now, I guess what everybody now, you
- 1:07:20Speaker 6: got nicknamed Cheeriolds. You know they call it your stuff
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: at work. You don't even know nothing about cheerios.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: Why they call it? You know, you know Cheerio got
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: their little b on it. You know, Black people have
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: slick stuff, and they do.
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: His parents have agreed with him on little issues like this,
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: when the underlying issue is they're mad because they want
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: a grandchildren and I'm not ready and I'm not having
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: a baby with a man that talks down to me
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: and picks fights over a petty bs. You, young lady,
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: are absolutely one correct. Is your body, is your life,
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: and is your husband. When his mom talks to me crazy,
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: I tell her to watch her. Told he sides with
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: her because you have got tired of him. So now, Shirley,
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: you're gonna be the mother and I'm gonna be the daughter,
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: and I'm gonna tell you how the ways you can
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: have this cause because this barriage.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: Ain't gonna make it no way.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Now, baby, you know you're supposed to listen to your
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: husband and go get that shirt out the cleaners. Baby, yes, baby.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: He the baby. Don't call me a baby. He the baby.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Well, it's a term of endearment, honey. Don't take offense
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: to it.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, honey, honey. If he had some money,
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: we could have two shirts.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Well, sweetie, it sounds like you have an attitude. What's
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: the problem.
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: I got an attitude because I hadn't married. Yo, boy,
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: that's why I got it.
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: Walked to.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: He is my baby. He is my baby, but he's
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: a grown man. He married you. He can't be a.
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: Baby and a grown man at the same time. Lady,
- 1:09:03Speaker 6: you can call me mom, you call you sweetie. Now
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: I'm nothing to call you mama. You're already too many
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: mamas around here.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Now, what attitude?
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: I got a mama? Well, that's what the attitude is.
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: I got a mama and I left her to marry
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: my husband who is stuck up under his mama.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: You need to cut the apron strings in what you.
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: Need to do?
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: Well, you know what, I think the apron strings are cut.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: You have your house, we have our house, and we
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: count along just fine. What's the problem.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: Baby.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: Don't nobody like you.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: You're mad a lot.
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: We ain't getting along. We're about to get home. It's
- 1:09:41Speaker 6: what we're finn do. And I'm not fit to have

- 1:13:59Speaker 6: You're to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, So guys,
- 1:14:07Speaker 6: this is from Vernon in Friendswood.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Vernon says, I've been sleeping in the guest room for
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: the past two years, and my wife stopped having sex
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: with me last summer. I've fallen in love with a
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: lovely woman that doesn't nag me or put me down.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: We're always together lately, so she's concerned about being judged
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: and called a home wrecker. I don't want the lady
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: to see me as a cheater, so I have not
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: tried to have sex with her yet. Should I trust
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: my gut and file for divorce? Or am I just
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: excited to have a new lady in my life.
- 1:14:42Speaker 6: Wow, that's a tough one, bro, because yeah, did he
- 1:14:45Speaker 6: say he had done something to be put in the
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: guest room?
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Now tell us what it was?
- 1:14:51Speaker 6: Now, Okay, we all know you ain't gonna sit over
- 1:14:54Speaker 6: there for no reason, and she stopped having sex with
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: you last summer.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: Now, bro, let's just be real.
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: You had to do something to end up over there,
- 1:15:05Speaker 6: and if you'd have stayed over there for two summers,
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: she'd bene locked in.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: What could he have done?
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: Though? Oh well, let's see here we go.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: What you got?
- 1:15:17Speaker 11: Ye?
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: Now here is what's really crazy.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:15:20Speaker 6: I got this new girlfriend that I'm head over heels about,
- 1:15:26Speaker 6: crazy about, lovely woman. And she's starting to be concerned
- 1:15:32Speaker 6: because she don't want to be considered a home re record.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Nothing right.
- 1:15:37Speaker 6: You trying to tell me you ain't slept with this woman.
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: So I ain't slept with this woman, that's.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: What you said. I have not tried. He doesn't want
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: her to see him as a cheater, he says.
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: Bruh, Bro, you've been in the other room for two
- 1:15:51Speaker 6: years and your wife started having stop having secret you
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: last summer.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: What you've been doing since then?
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: He says, He you hurt? These are his words. So
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: I have not tried to have sex with her. I
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: don't want the lady to see me as a cheater.
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: You've had sex with somebody, dog, and you are a
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: cheater because that's why you're in that other room.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: So we gotta come terms with all this hit now.
- 1:16:18Speaker 6: Yeah, because you're talking to somebody who know a lie
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: when he heard Okay, you.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: Ain't slept with this lady, but you slept with somebody
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: last summer.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: For two years. He's been in a guest room for
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: two years.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Two years. You had said so light since last summer.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, should be filed for divorce. Trust his gut, He
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: sang it filed for gut man.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: What do your wife's gut say? That's what you should
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: have been her gut been put you out. Yeah.
- 1:16:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: And what you think your wife been doing for two years?
- 1:16:57Speaker 7: Oh wow, to do to do too.
- 1:17:03Speaker 6: That's it because when a woman don't ask you what
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: you're doing or shows no concern, she didn't checked out though,
- 1:17:12Speaker 6: open yep.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: All right, yeah, all right, moving on with you. We
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: have time for another one. This is from Lynn in Chicago.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Lynn says, I had too much to drink on date
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: night and passed out on the floor in my bedroom.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: My husband didn't bother to take my clothes off or
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: give me a blanket. I woke up and he was
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: snuggled up in the middle of the bed. He said
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: he wait, he said he was drunk too, so he
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: was not responsible for me. Shouldn't the husband always be
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: responsible for his wife?
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: You do a guy so drunk that you fell asleep
- 1:17:53Speaker 6: in the middle of the flow. Yes, I'm just I'm
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: this ain't gonna do no good. I'm just gonna go
- 1:18:02Speaker 6: out on the lilm and say this, what y'all need
- 1:18:05Speaker 6: to quit drinking? I don't know, that's just a suggestion.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: Because he was drunk too. Right, left on the floor
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: and got in the bed and snuggled up nicely, yeah,
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: and enjoyed it.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, I don't know. Let me ask you a question.
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: When you get drunk, do you not get as cold
- 1:18:28Speaker 6: as you normally do because of the alcohol.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: That lady was freezing, but she woke up free.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: All right, we'll just leave it right here.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: Thank you for knowing that, sir.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: Coming up in twenty minutes after, we have more of
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Right after this, you're listening
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Okay, So we all
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: remember being too young to go to bars and clubs
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: back in the day, But imagine now being told you're
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: too old to go to a club well, that's what
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: happened in a bar in Tokyo. They're under fire this
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: bar for having an age restriction policy, which states that
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: no one over the age of forty is allowed in
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: the club. Only club gores the ages. Yeah, forty, between
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: the ages of twenty one and thirty nine can go
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: to the club. Since the club received a lot of backlash,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: the owner has decided to allow people over forty to
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: be admitted, but only if they convince the bouncer that
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: they're still young at heart.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: Were going there like regular people?
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Nope, got to convince the bouncer.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: So when's the last time. When's the last time you
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: guys have been to a club? Yeah, it's been a minute.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: Huh, let me see last time.

- 1:20:01Speaker 2: It's loud at the.

- 1:20:07Speaker 6: My son in law opened up a club in Atlanta
- 1:20:11Speaker 6: and we had to go to the Grand open. I
- 1:20:14Speaker 6: knew that night that wasn't gonna make it. They don't yet.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: They don't dance.

- 1:24:32Speaker 1: and we'll close out the show with the one and
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey right after this. You're listening to the
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Life is unpredictable, but protecting your

- 1:25:16Speaker 1: the day. It's been a good day. It's been a
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: fun day. You guys. Yeah, thank you to our listener forever, I.
- 1:25:27Speaker 7: Got your uncle.
- 1:25:27Speaker 8: You know, today is the first day of Black History
- 1:25:30Speaker 8: and second day, second day for us, second day by
- 1:25:34Speaker 8: first day on the radio.
- 1:25:35Speaker 7: Fourth I'm at that.
- 1:25:36Speaker 8: But let me ask you, why do you feel the
- 1:25:38Speaker 8: state of black people are right now? What we're dealing with,
- 1:25:41Speaker 8: everything that's going on.
- 1:25:42Speaker 6: How do you assesst listen to me? I think since
- 1:25:46Speaker 6: it's Black History Month, I'd rather take a different approach.
- 1:25:50Speaker 6: What do you mean I would like to take the
- 1:25:52Speaker 6: approach or how I felt as being black. Being black
- 1:26:03Speaker 6: has been one of my proudest things. I have never
- 1:26:11Speaker 6: ever been ashamed of being black.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: I have worn this crown on.
- 1:26:19Speaker 6: My behalf, on my family's behalf, and whether you all
- 1:26:24Speaker 6: believe it or not, on behalf of those who look
- 1:26:27Speaker 6: up to me, who respect me, who consider me a
- 1:26:31Speaker 6: role model, who I inspire, and I have thoroughly, thoroughly
- 1:26:41Speaker 6: enjoyed being black.
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: I love our survival skills.
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: I love our ability to overcome, to withstand, to deal with,
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: to grapple, and in spite of all that we've gone
- 1:26:57Speaker 6: through that's been presented as challenges in front of us,
- 1:27:02Speaker 6: we steal the wanes man, We steal the ones. We
- 1:27:08Speaker 6: are the creators of everything that is cool in the
- 1:27:11Speaker 6: culture and around the world today. We are the creators
- 1:27:16Speaker 6: of cool in the culture. We make all sports that
- 1:27:24Speaker 6: we participate in more exciting.
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: We are.
- 1:27:32Speaker 6: Some of the most talented people, as a matter of fact,
- 1:27:37Speaker 6: the most talented people in all of the entertainment, and.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: Ain't nobody topping us.
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: We are.
- 1:27:51Speaker 6: The determining factor, especially our young people. We are determining
- 1:27:57Speaker 6: factor on what's cool to wear in terms of we
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: are the determining factors of what's cool to do with
- 1:28:04Speaker 6: your hair.
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: Everybody emulates what we do with our hair.
- 1:28:13Speaker 6: Every Black woman that has been a Black woman naturally
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: from birth is the reason why.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: They chase that look so desperate.
- 1:28:28Speaker 6: Black women have thick lips already, no botox required.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: Black women are born with the round bottoms. They born
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: with it. Now.
- 1:28:41Speaker 6: Bb Elsen came famous, but famous why because everybody won't
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: that look.
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: White women won't the look. Latino women won't the looks.
- 1:28:53Speaker 6: They had it mostly with us anyway, But you look
- 1:28:56Speaker 6: at it right now man aging women. They all trying
- 1:28:59Speaker 6: to get that look. They all want plump lips. Talked
- 1:29:03Speaker 6: about us having that for years, but chased it, chased it,
- 1:29:10Speaker 6: had to have it. What't happened to you found a
- 1:29:13Speaker 6: way to get it done too, so we still it.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: Music.
- 1:29:20Speaker 6: I was telling some young people at my camp one year,
- 1:29:23Speaker 6: I said, do you know that a lot of white
- 1:29:27Speaker 6: kids have black kids on their wall, Black men on
- 1:29:31Speaker 6: their wall, black women on their wall. They got to beyonces,
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: the basketball players, the football players. I ain't saying, ain't
- 1:29:38Speaker 6: just some cold white ball players out there too, that's
- 1:29:41Speaker 6: on the walls. But you see white kids putting black
- 1:29:46Speaker 6: kids on the wall because.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: You all don't really know.
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: How really powerful and important to the culture you are.
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: You so important to the culture that they don't want
- 1:30:00Speaker 6: y'all to be in the culture no more. You are
- 1:30:04Speaker 6: so important and relevant to our history that they don't
- 1:30:07Speaker 6: want y'all to know you are important to the history.
- 1:30:10Speaker 6: Oh and don't you think it's a twofold reason. It's
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: number one, say, don'tant so they don't have to be
- 1:30:18Speaker 6: reminded of what all they did to us. That's the
- 1:30:21Speaker 6: eradicating the civil rights movement, getting rid of affirmative action,
- 1:30:25Speaker 6: get rid of history and schools, getting rid of plaques
- 1:30:28Speaker 6: and stuff on walls, getting rid of the mention of slavery,
- 1:30:31Speaker 6: so they don't have to be reminded.
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: But the big reason is so you don't know.
- 1:30:39Speaker 6: So you don't know how powerful you are, so you
- 1:30:44Speaker 6: don't recognize or remember the contribution you made to the
- 1:30:48Speaker 6: growth and development of this country.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: With some bad people.
- 1:30:54Speaker 6: Man, oh man, we it I've been so proud of
- 1:31:00Speaker 6: Now listen to me. Are there's some great non blacks?
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: Of course it is. We work with them all the time.
- 1:31:11Speaker 6: We associate with them all the time, and we cool
- 1:31:16Speaker 6: with that, and we require no apologies for that. You know,
- 1:31:21Speaker 6: our vice president said, we want an America where white
- 1:31:27Speaker 6: people don't have to apologize for being white, and the
- 1:31:30Speaker 6: whole crowd erupted. Black people never asked you to apologize
- 1:31:35Speaker 6: for being white. What we want you to do is
- 1:31:37Speaker 6: get rid of the gods who keep the active like
- 1:31:41Speaker 6: because they white, that that enables them to some form
- 1:31:45Speaker 6: of superiority. And that's what we talk.
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: For.
