- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, So we are doing a dual podcast if
- 0:02Speaker 1: you are listening right now to the Ben Ferguson podcast.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Actually thought I was going to take a little bit
- 0:06Speaker 1: of time off during spring break, but then the war
- 0:08Speaker 1: broke out in Iran. So Senator Cruz and I are
- 0:11Speaker 1: doing a dual podcast right now that you are hearing
- 0:13Speaker 1: both of us, and we've got a lot to bring
- 0:15Speaker 1: you on what's happening in Iran and some other issues
- 0:18Speaker 1: as well.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Well. We're in week two of the war with Iran,
- 0:22Speaker 2: and I will say this success is continue to build up.
- 0:27Speaker 2: If you look at the first day of this conflict,
- 0:29Speaker 2: Iran launched three hundred and fifty ballistic missiles. By day
- 0:34Speaker 2: eight that had dropped to fifteen. The second day of
- 0:39Speaker 2: this conflict, Iran launched five hundred and forty one drone
- 0:44Speaker 2: attacks by day eight that had dropped to twelve. What
- 0:50Speaker 2: we have done in less than two weeks now, we
- 0:55Speaker 2: have taken out Iran's air defenses. We've taken out their
- 1:01Speaker 2: missile launching capacity, we have taken out their missiles, we
- 1:05Speaker 2: have taken out their missile manufacturing. We've taken out their
- 1:09Speaker 2: drone launch capacity, we have taken out their drones. We
- 1:13Speaker 2: have taken out their drone manufacturing. If you look at
- 1:16Speaker 2: their navy, virtually every ship in their navy has been
- 1:20Speaker 2: sunk to the bottom of the ocean. That effect in
- 1:24Speaker 2: less than two weeks is profound. And I want you
- 1:29Speaker 2: to listen to the Secretary of War Pete Hesith talking
- 1:32Speaker 2: about what's been accomplished and what to expect next. Give
- 1:35Speaker 2: a listen.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Before we get to that, though, I want to tell
- 1:38Speaker 1: you about our friends at bitcoin IRA. Can you buy
- 1:42Speaker 1: real bitcoin in your retirement account? If not, it's time
- 1:46Speaker 1: to upgrade to bitcoin IRA. You can buy and sell

- 2:18Speaker 2: For every interrupt you let me interrupt you right now, Ben,
- 2:22Speaker 2: So you're right now in Caba.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I am that's true. Yes, yes, that's true.
- 2:26Speaker 2: And I just want to thank you on behalf of
- 2:29Speaker 2: every Verdict listener, but especially the Verdict viewers. So there
- 2:32Speaker 2: are a lot of Vertict viewers who watch on on
- 2:36Speaker 2: on YouTube, who watch on Facebook? And I just want
- 2:39Speaker 2: to say, I'm really glad that you are not in
- 2:41Speaker 2: aspito right now. I am not.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I am in a suit, a jacket, or even worse,
- 2:48Speaker 4: a borat. A borat, yes that like covers the equipment
- 2:51Speaker 4: and goes over your shoulders. I'm just gonna say, to
- 2:56Speaker 4: be honest, we don't know if you're in aspeito a
- 2:59Speaker 4: borat because the camera shot is only chest up.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yeah, this is this is what you call hazing. When
- 3:05Speaker 1: when when when center Cruise is one.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Of us is at work, Like I've spent the whole
- 3:10Speaker 2: day in the Senate, I'm working. By the way, it's
- 3:12Speaker 2: your spring break, it's my spring break. My girls were
- 3:16Speaker 2: were skiing on spring break. I went for a day
- 3:19Speaker 2: and a half and then got on a plane and
- 3:21Speaker 2: I flew back to Washington, d C. Because some of
- 3:23Speaker 2: us have a job.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. And and I'm proud.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I want you to know that I'm proud of you,
- 3:29Speaker 1: as I would clear on the beach today.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Benjamin has had nineteen dakeries today, and and and if
- 3:35Speaker 2: I asked him to walk in a straight line and
- 3:38Speaker 2: spell the alphabet backwards, he couldn't do so.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I did have two Miami Vices today just an interview.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I knew you would.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I don't even know what a Miami Vice is you.
- 3:46Speaker 3: That's that's just said. I'll introduce you the next time
- 3:48Speaker 3: we're hanging out in Cabba.
- 3:49Speaker 2: What what is a Miami Vice.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's it's a pinnaclauda strawberry dacre together. They called him
- 3:54Speaker 1: Miami Vice. You never had a Miami Vice in your
- 3:57Speaker 1: entire life. As I'm sitting here in Cava, I will
- 4:01Speaker 1: mean this sincerely.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I just don't care. I'm That's how happy I am.
- 4:05Speaker 3: All Right, So here we go. Here's Pete head Seth.
- 4:07Speaker 1: We're gonna start with Pete head Seth giving an update
- 4:10Speaker 1: on the war. I want you to take a listen
- 4:12Speaker 1: to what he had to say about where we are
- 4:14Speaker 1: now and what is happening.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Take a listen to this.
- 4:18Speaker 5: On day ten of Operation Epic Fury, we are winning
- 4:22Speaker 5: with an overwhelming and unrelenting focus on our objectives, which
- 4:27Speaker 5: are the same as the day I gave my first
- 4:30Speaker 5: briefing here on Operation Epic Fury. They're straightforward, and we
- 4:35Speaker 5: are executing them with ruthless precision. One destroy their missile stockpiles,
- 4:42Speaker 5: their missile launchers, and their defense industrial base missiles and
- 4:47Speaker 5: their ability to make them two destroy their navy, and
- 4:53Speaker 5: three permanently deny Iran nuclear weapons forever. It's a focused,
- 5:00Speaker 5: maximum authority mission delivered with overwhelming and unrelenting precision, no hesitation,
- 5:08Speaker 5: no half measures.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Well, let me ask you this sinator.
- 5:12Speaker 1: As you hear him lay that out, I want to
- 5:14Speaker 1: know what the pulsees in DC as you guys are
- 5:17Speaker 1: there talking about this. I'm still trying to figure out
- 5:21Speaker 1: what exactly the Democrat talking point is. I've seen like
- 5:24Speaker 1: four or five of them that they've been kind of
- 5:26Speaker 1: throwing jello at a wall to.
- 5:27Speaker 3: See if anything will stick.
- 5:29Speaker 1: They're obviously wanting to hurt Donald Trump and this or
- 5:31Speaker 1: trying to say he's going to get into forever or
- 5:33Speaker 1: it's not really working. So what are your colleagues saying
- 5:36Speaker 1: in the Senate about this? And also among Republicans as well,
- 5:40Speaker 1: there's even been there was an interesting moment by the way,
- 5:43Speaker 1: where like they were trying to bait you into trashing
- 5:45Speaker 1: Lindsey Graham and others are trying to turn Republicans against Republicans.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And as I was sitting here on the beach drinking
- 5:51Speaker 1: my Miami Vice. I enjoyed watching You Have to Deal
- 5:54Speaker 1: with That on TV because I just got to be
- 5:57Speaker 1: a spectator.
- 5:57Speaker 3: It was great.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, last night I was on Laura Ingram, and
- 6:02Speaker 2: Laura's a friend and she's supporting President Trump in this
- 6:06Speaker 2: military conflict. But she asked a whole series of questions
- 6:09Speaker 2: about aren't you upset that it's been reported that Lindsey
- 6:13Speaker 2: Graham was talking to Prime Minister net and Yahoo? And
- 6:15Speaker 2: she basically said, isn't Lindsay acting as a lobbyist for Israel?
- 6:22Speaker 2: And I said, Laura, with all due respect, now, and
- 6:25Speaker 2: that's really a silly question. Listen, Lindsey, I agree with
- 6:32Speaker 2: Lindsay on some issues. I disagree with Lindsay on other issues.
- 6:35Speaker 2: You look at the Iraq War. Lindsay was a big
- 6:37Speaker 2: proposent of the Iraq War. I think the Iraq War
- 6:40Speaker 2: was a serious mistake. I think it did harm to
- 6:43Speaker 2: the United States. And I've said that for a long
- 6:45Speaker 2: long time. So Lindsay and are on totally different pages
- 6:49Speaker 2: when it comes to Iraq. When it comes to Iran,
- 6:52Speaker 2: Lindsey and I agree. I think when the Ayatola says
- 6:55Speaker 2: death to America. He means it. I think President Trump
- 6:58Speaker 2: is right to act to take out the leadership in
- 7:04Speaker 2: Iran because having radical Islamist leadership that wants to murder
- 7:08Speaker 2: Americans is bad for America. The regime in Iran has
- 7:12Speaker 2: been the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism for forty
- 7:15Speaker 2: seven years. Theyre provide ninety percent of the funding for Hamas,
- 7:20Speaker 2: for Hesbela and for the Houthis. They've killed nearly one
- 7:24Speaker 2: thousand Americans in the last five decades. The Ayahtola he
- 7:30Speaker 2: leads mobs channing death to America, and he hires two
- 7:36Speaker 2: different crews of hit men to try to murder Donald J. Trump.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Yeah, by the way too, and can pause on that.
- 7:43Speaker 2: One was just convicted the last week of doing so. Yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I was gonna say, let's spend a moment on this
- 7:48Speaker 1: because this is part of the Democrats talking point, and
- 7:52Speaker 1: I've been fighting this pretty hard on TV as well,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and they're like, well, they weren't. There was not a
- 7:56Speaker 1: direct threat here. This was not a direct threat to America.
- 8:00Speaker 1: You're now putting people in harm's way. Let's make it
- 8:03Speaker 1: very clear on this show as you described it, not
- 8:07Speaker 1: one but two that we know about were sent to
- 8:10Speaker 1: try to take out and kill the President of America.
- 8:13Speaker 3: That came directly from Iran.
- 8:15Speaker 2: And by the way, the hitman told the Department of Justice,
- 8:18Speaker 2: I was hired by Iran, I was trained by Iran,
- 8:21Speaker 2: and my purpose was to murder President Trump. There's no
- 8:23Speaker 2: dispute that it was Iran that was paying for this.
- 8:26Speaker 2: And I will note if you remember last year when
- 8:28Speaker 2: I was interviewed by Tucker Carlson, it was an unhinged interview,
- 8:33Speaker 2: but he disputed me. He said, no, no, no, I've
- 8:38Speaker 2: never heard that Iran's trying to murder Donald Trump, which
- 8:40Speaker 2: was insane and totally counterfactual. And it's hard to actually
- 8:44Speaker 2: argue with someone for whom facts don't matter and they
- 8:47Speaker 2: just make up facts. But then Tucker said, bizarrely, well,
- 8:52Speaker 2: and if Iran was trying to murder Trump, we should
- 8:57Speaker 2: attack them now, we should nuke them, which was insane.
- 9:03Speaker 2: And by the way, I will say, in Monday's podcast,
- 9:05Speaker 2: we pointed out Tucker has become such an Islamist shill,
- 9:11Speaker 2: such an Israel hating zealot, such an advocate for every
- 9:18Speaker 2: Islamist enemy of America that he has argued this week
- 9:23Speaker 2: that President Trump's demand for unconditional surrender of Iran means
- 9:29Speaker 2: that Iran should expect American soldiers to rape their wives
- 9:34Speaker 2: and daughters. Yes, that is an absolute slander of our
- 9:40Speaker 2: American servicemen and women. It is totally false, it is ahistorical.
- 9:46Speaker 2: We don't do that. Other armies do that. America does not.
- 9:50Speaker 2: And he also argued that he thinks America is going
- 9:53Speaker 2: to nuke Iran. To be clear, that's what Jahadis Tucker
- 10:01Speaker 2: said in his interview we should do if Iran was
- 10:06Speaker 2: trying to murder President Trump. We now have one of
- 10:11Speaker 2: the hit men convicted in a federal jury for trying
- 10:15Speaker 2: to murder Trump. So Tucker's bad faith, disingenuous position is
- 10:21Speaker 2: we should nuke them. Of course, we should nuke them.
- 10:24Speaker 2: We're not gonna nuke Iran. That is bizarre, that is wrong.
- 10:29Speaker 2: We're also not There is no circumstance in which American
- 10:32Speaker 2: soldiers are going to rape the women of Iran. But
- 10:35Speaker 2: do you know who is broadcasting Tucker's broadcast right now?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Literally Iran?
- 10:41Speaker 1: The state sponsored media is broadcasting it to their people.
- 10:45Speaker 2: The government of Iran is broadcasting Tucker to their people.
- 10:49Speaker 2: The Muslim Brotherhood has retweeted and put out Tucker's broadcast
- 10:52Speaker 2: to the world. R T the press organization Russia. Russia
- 10:58Speaker 2: Today is pushing out Tucker. So you want to talk
- 11:02Speaker 2: about a damn effective propagandist for people who hate America.
- 11:06Speaker 2: And this is the slippery slope of Jew hate and
- 11:09Speaker 2: Israel hate. You start with just hating Israel and Jews
- 11:13Speaker 2: blaming everything bad in the world. It's the Jews, and
- 11:16Speaker 2: you very quickly get into the problem is capitalism. By
- 11:20Speaker 2: the way, Tucker is now attacking capitalism on a daily
- 11:22Speaker 2: basis and embracing He's embraced Comrade Mandami as the mayor
- 11:28Speaker 2: of New York. He's defended him repeatedly. He's embraced Nicholas Maduro,
- 11:32Speaker 2: the Marxist America hating dictator of Venezuela, who Donald Trump
- 11:36Speaker 2: went and rightly apprehended for being one of the biggest
- 11:39Speaker 2: drug dealers in the world, killing Americans. Tucker is defending him.
- 11:44Speaker 2: And that pattern is incredibly dangerous. We're seeing it play
- 11:49Speaker 2: out every day.
- 11:50Speaker 3: By the way, side note, this is going to be interesting.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I want you to guess in two thousand, this would
- 11:56Speaker 1: probably be two thousand and.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Nine, eight or nine.
- 12:00Speaker 1: My big to day to day like to date right now,
- 12:04Speaker 1: the biggest contract I've ever been offered in my entire
- 12:07Speaker 1: life to do radio TV.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Do you know who it was from?
- 12:11Speaker 2: I'm guessing Tucker. And what I want to ask is,
- 12:13Speaker 2: did you have to buy a home and cut her
- 12:15Speaker 2: like he has no.
- 12:16Speaker 1: No, that's a good guess, but no, it was not.
- 12:18Speaker 1: My biggest offer in the history of my career was RT.
- 12:23Speaker 1: They tried to hire. They were trying to hire conservatives,
- 12:26Speaker 1: and so in two thousand whatever year they like, they
- 12:28Speaker 1: came into America in the marketplace.
- 12:30Speaker 2: How much did they offer you?
- 12:31Speaker 3: Oh dude, it was seven figures.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I mean it was I don't remember, Like seriously, I
- 12:36Speaker 1: get rich, like instant, get rich money.
- 12:38Speaker 2: So they offered you over a million dollars.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Yes, over a million dollars.
- 12:42Speaker 2: So the likes to say, Vladimir Putin is wise and
- 12:46Speaker 2: a damn good looking man.
- 12:47Speaker 1: So this is how they entrap people. As I describe it,
- 12:51Speaker 1: I was in the bush years. I get a phone
- 12:54Speaker 1: call from a former worker slash, you know, TV executive
- 12:58Speaker 1: from Fox News Channel, and they said, Hey, I've moved
- 13:01Speaker 1: on to something else. I'd love to meet with you.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm like, sure, more than happy to me. I'd worked
- 13:04Speaker 1: with them before at Fox News Channel. Like, okay, no
- 13:06Speaker 1: big deal. I go to lunch in DC, that's where
- 13:10Speaker 1: I was living at the time, and she hands me
- 13:12Speaker 1: her card and she's working for RT and I'm like
- 13:16Speaker 1: RT like Russia today like and she's like yes, and
- 13:18Speaker 1: she's like, we would love to have you come on
- 13:20Speaker 1: and just give your viewpoint. We would never tell you
- 13:23Speaker 1: what to say. We would never tell you what to like.
- 13:26Speaker 1: You know, we want you to just be exactly who
- 13:28Speaker 1: you are. We want a fair and balanced conversation about
- 13:30Speaker 1: the world. We think you would be great. I was like,
- 13:32Speaker 1: I was like, I'm still in shock. I'm like this
- 13:35Speaker 1: is I'm like looking for cameras. I'm waiting for, like
- 13:37Speaker 1: you know, somebody to come out, like from the side
- 13:39Speaker 1: room like we got him.
- 13:40Speaker 3: And I'm like I literally looked.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I was like, there's no amount of money that is
- 13:44Speaker 1: gonna make me work for the Russia and for BLA.
- 13:47Speaker 1: I think I said Vladimir put and they were like, well,
- 13:48Speaker 1: here's the offer, and they slid it across the table.
- 13:50Speaker 3: It was like a scene ow of the movie. And
- 13:52Speaker 3: I opened it.
- 13:52Speaker 1: It was I mean, it was seven figures and I literally,
- 13:54Speaker 1: I literally number tell me what seven figures means? Do
- 13:57Speaker 1: you remember that it was well over a million per year?
- 13:59Speaker 1: But it was a multi year deal, so it was like.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It was like a million one, a million nine, Like I.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Can't remember if it was like I want to say
- 14:07Speaker 1: again a long time. I want to say it was
- 14:08Speaker 1: like a million two or three. And that was their
- 14:10Speaker 1: first offer per year. And so I leave the meeting
- 14:13Speaker 1: and I'm like, look, I'm not going to do it,
- 14:15Speaker 1: but things, I just think about it and I'm like,
- 14:17Speaker 1: I'm not going to do it, but things they're like, well,
- 14:18Speaker 1: if you ever want to come as a guest or
- 14:20Speaker 1: if you ever change your mind. So I leave and
- 14:22Speaker 1: I called John Ashcroft at the time, he was the
- 14:24Speaker 1: former Turity general. I was like, John, I just got
- 14:26Speaker 1: offered money from Vladimir Putin. He was like started chuckling,
- 14:29Speaker 1: like Santa. He was like Russia today. I was like, yay.
- 14:31Speaker 1: He's like, you're like the eighth person's called me today
- 14:33Speaker 1: to tell me the last week they're getting an offer
- 14:35Speaker 1: from russiaday because they're trying to legitimize themselves in America
- 14:38Speaker 1: for their propaganda.
- 14:40Speaker 3: And then they were on.
- 14:41Speaker 1: TV until they invaded Ukraine and then Artie like fired
- 14:46Speaker 1: everybody in America. But I knew people that took the
- 14:48Speaker 1: money and got rich, like I knew like legitiularly, like yeah,
- 14:50Speaker 1: take the Russian cash, like no problem. That is by
- 14:53Speaker 1: the way, the reason why I bring it up is
- 14:55Speaker 1: because with Tucker Carlson, when everybody's like, well, there is
- 14:57Speaker 1: there really money to be made to be like anti
- 14:59Speaker 1: America anti Yes, there is lots of money that people
- 15:03Speaker 1: are getting paid. I don't know who's getting paid, but
- 15:05Speaker 1: a lot of people are getting paid.
- 15:06Speaker 3: So just know that money.
- 15:08Speaker 2: By the way, we know that a foreign funders for
- 15:11Speaker 2: US universities. Yeah, the number one country in the world.
- 15:15Speaker 2: You know what it is? Is it China? Nope?
- 15:19Speaker 3: Really, Russia nope?
- 15:21Speaker 2: Iran nope?
- 15:23Speaker 3: All right, who is it?
- 15:24Speaker 2: Cutter?
- 15:25Speaker 3: Oh that okay, there you go.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Six point six billion dollars with a B.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Six point six billion comes from cut to our universities,
- 15:34Speaker 1: to our universities.
- 15:35Speaker 2: You want to know why our universities are so rabidly
- 15:39Speaker 2: anti American, so rabidly anti Semitics, so rabidly anti Israel,
- 15:44Speaker 2: so rabidly anti capitalism, so rapidly Look you look at
- 15:49Speaker 2: the anti Semitic protests that we had on college campuses
- 15:51Speaker 2: all across the country. Yeah, did any of you notice
- 15:55Speaker 2: that the tents all matched?
- 15:57Speaker 3: Yeah, there you go.
- 15:59Speaker 2: And to be clear cutter, by the way, it's been
- 16:02Speaker 2: publicly reported, they hired spies to spy on me. They
- 16:08Speaker 2: view me as their biggest opponent in Washington, and listen,
- 16:12Speaker 2: it's very simple. I don't have anything against the Kutaris
- 16:16Speaker 2: other than they welcome and host. Hold, let me finish this,
- 16:20Speaker 2: Let me finish this. I don't have anything against the
- 16:22Speaker 2: Kataris other than that they welcome and host the senior
- 16:26Speaker 2: leadership of Hamas. They live like billionaires, They live in
- 16:30Speaker 2: lavish luxury. They support Hamas, they encourage Hamas, They fund
- 16:36Speaker 2: Israel haters, America haters, communists, people tearing America down. They
- 16:41Speaker 2: propagandize our kids. I'm perfectly happy to welcome the Qataris
- 16:45Speaker 2: into the society of civilized nation if they will stop
- 16:48Speaker 2: funding people trying to destroy America. And I don't take
- 16:52Speaker 2: it kindly when you write lots of checks to people
- 16:55Speaker 2: who hate American or trying to destroy our nation. I
- 16:57Speaker 2: view that as less than friendly content.
- 17:00Speaker 1: This year marks a critical moment for our country. As
- 17:03Speaker 1: the opposition grows more aggressive and unapologetic, the fight now
- 17:08Speaker 1: reaches into the everyday decisions we make. Patriot Mobile has
- 17:13Speaker 1: been standing on the front lines fighting for freedom for
- 17:16Speaker 1: more than twelve years. They don't just deliver top tier
- 17:19Speaker 1: wireless service. They are activists like me who truly care
- 17:23Speaker 1: about our country. Patriot Mobile offers prioritize premium access on
- 17:29Speaker 1: all three major US networks, giving you the same or
- 17:32Speaker 1: better coverage than the main carriers do. That means fast

- 17:52Speaker 1: you can switch in minutes. You can keep your same

- 18:22Speaker 1: That's Patriot mobile dot com slash ferguson or nine seven
- 18:27Speaker 1: to two Patriot. By the way, to everyone in guitar,
- 18:31Speaker 1: that's a spy listening right now. I just want you
- 18:33Speaker 1: to know. And this is the comment Ted's life is
- 18:36Speaker 1: very boring. Sometimes he really is methodical.
- 18:39Speaker 3: It's not there's nothing exciting happening there.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I just want to be calling right like a can
- 18:44Speaker 2: can I tell a story? And it's a story some
- 18:47Speaker 2: of our podcast listeners will will will remember. So back
- 18:52Speaker 2: in twenty sixteen, when I'm running for president and it's
- 18:56Speaker 2: it's getting down to to the end of the race,
- 18:58Speaker 2: and it's me and Donald trumpet where neck and neck.
- 19:01Speaker 2: And in that race, I won twelve states, Trump won
- 19:06Speaker 2: twenty four, and no other Republican won more than a
- 19:10Speaker 2: single state Kaiseiquan, Ohio, Rubio one Minnesota, and Trump and
- 19:13Speaker 2: I won every other state in the country. And in
- 19:18Speaker 2: the course of that campaign, there was a story that
- 19:21Speaker 2: broke in the National Inquirer that said I was having
- 19:26Speaker 2: five simultaneous affairs and this is front page, big story.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Cruise caught yes, and look, men, you know my wife, Heidi,
- 19:37Speaker 2: I do. I had to call Heidi and for anyone married.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Let me say to everyone listening and watching this spot,
- 19:46Speaker 2: if you're married, I got to tell you, it sucks
- 19:50Speaker 2: to pick up the phone and call your spouse and
- 19:52Speaker 2: say a sweetheart. So there is a front page story
- 19:57Speaker 2: that is in every checkout aisle of every supermarket in
- 20:01Speaker 2: America that said I'm having five simultaneous affairs and I
- 20:08Speaker 2: adore Heidi. She's my best friend in the world. But
- 20:10Speaker 2: I was nervous about this call. That is not a
- 20:12Speaker 2: fun If you had to call on and say that,
- 20:15Speaker 2: that would be a call that sucked. So I make
- 20:19Speaker 2: the call. Do you know Heidi's reaction?
- 20:23Speaker 1: Well, I know this story and I know exactly reaction,
- 20:26Speaker 1: which is the best part about the whole story.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Heidi burst into a uporious laughter. She's like doubled over laughing,
- 20:36Speaker 2: and I actually got offended. I'm like, sweetheart, it's not true,
- 20:40Speaker 2: but damn it, I could. I mean, like, what are
- 20:42Speaker 2: you saying? Like like I didn't, but but.
- 20:46Speaker 3: You're that undesirable, That's what she's saying right there. There's
- 20:49Speaker 3: no way.
- 20:50Speaker 2: And I gotta say for the Katari spies, I think
- 20:55Speaker 2: they were frustrated because look, I have dinner many nights
- 20:58Speaker 2: in DC at Capitol Garrel. You and I have had
- 21:00Speaker 2: dinner many times there. Yes, we had my political fact.
- 21:04Speaker 1: To be clear, I don't think you and I have
- 21:06Speaker 1: ever had dinner anywhere else in d C. But there,
- 21:09Speaker 1: that's how Mondane.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It is okay.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Even exist in DC in that world.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Look, I'm if you're cheating on anybody.
- 21:18Speaker 3: It's Capital Grill. That would be the story.
- 21:20Speaker 2: I'm a homebody. Listen. When I was in law school,
- 21:23Speaker 2: I lived in the dorms Hemingway. I lived in Hastings Hall,
- 21:28Speaker 2: which is a dorm. I lived there three years. Right
- 21:31Speaker 2: next to it was Hemingway Gym, and then right next
- 21:34Speaker 2: to it was Gannett House was the Law Review. That
- 21:36Speaker 2: triangle was maybe three hundred yards. I spent almost every
- 21:41Speaker 2: waking moment of three years of law school in that
- 21:43Speaker 2: triangle between my dorm, the gym, and the Law Review.
- 21:46Speaker 2: That was basically I would go to class occasionally, but
- 21:48Speaker 2: it was essentially that triangle d C. I rarely, like,
- 21:53Speaker 2: like Capgirl is six blocks away from the Capitol. I
- 21:56Speaker 2: rarely go beyond that that that radius. But I will
- 22:00Speaker 2: tell you in twenty sixteen, my opponents and more than
- 22:02Speaker 2: one of my opponents, was like flashing major chunks of cash,
- 22:08Speaker 2: trying to get cap grill waiters and waitresses to like
- 22:12Speaker 2: rat on me, like running around and getting busy with
- 22:16Speaker 2: some Washington lobs.
- 22:18Speaker 1: They were looking for an Easter and Peo don't realize this.
- 22:20Speaker 1: This is real in politics, Like they.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Go to they're dragging through trying to get.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Me hand out cash to anybody.
- 22:25Speaker 1: They'll give them a story so they can report it
- 22:27Speaker 1: as someone who says in this world.
- 22:30Speaker 2: And I got to say, like, my life is just
- 22:32Speaker 2: pretty damn boring on that. And I will tell you
- 22:35Speaker 2: I actually I want to take a minute. I want
- 22:37Speaker 2: to speak to the men listening to this podcast. I
- 22:39Speaker 2: want to share some wisdom. So our pastor is Greg Mott,
- 22:44Speaker 2: and actually you now go to our church. You used
- 22:45Speaker 2: to go to Second Baptist, you now go to First Baptist.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Greg Mott is a wonderful, dear friend. He's a man
- 22:50Speaker 2: of God. Before you moved first Pastor, Greg did a
- 22:56Speaker 2: sermon series. It was like I think six weeks and
- 22:59Speaker 2: it was on King Dave. And I really enjoyed that
- 23:01Speaker 2: sermon series. King David was remarkable person in the Bible,
- 23:04Speaker 2: and I remember he was covering the chapter on Bestsheba.
- 23:09Speaker 2: And if you remember, King David is standing on the
- 23:11Speaker 2: roof of his palace and he looks down and he
- 23:12Speaker 2: sees Besthsheba, the most beautiful woman in the land, and
- 23:16Speaker 2: he gazes upon her, and he ultimately ends up bringing
- 23:20Speaker 2: her in and sending her husband your riot, to the
- 23:22Speaker 2: front lines and killing him and sleeping with her and
- 23:25Speaker 2: then marrying her, and and God extracts the price of
- 23:28Speaker 2: killing her firstborn son, although her next son was King Solomon,
- 23:32Speaker 2: So he did continue the line. But Pastor greg is
- 23:37Speaker 2: talking about and he just stops. He says, all right,
- 23:40Speaker 2: I want to talk to all the men in the congregation.
- 23:44Speaker 2: And he says, you may be.
- 23:45Speaker 1: By the way, if you're says podcast and you want
- 23:47Speaker 1: to hear greg Mont's voice, like go listen to one
- 23:50Speaker 1: of his sermons, and you'll understand how good he is
- 23:52Speaker 1: at delivering these types of lines.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Continue it's and by the way. Pastor Gregg started his ministry.
- 23:59Speaker 2: He was a student at Texas A and M. And
- 24:02Speaker 2: he started a little Bible study in his dorm room
- 24:05Speaker 2: or his apartment, and it started with a few students.
- 24:08Speaker 2: It grew into what's called breakaway and he would have
- 24:11Speaker 2: ten thousand students a week meeting in the basketball gymnasium.
- 24:15Speaker 2: So where we go to church. First Baptist Church is
- 24:19Speaker 2: an institution in Houston. I went there as a little kid.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Doctor John Bassania was the pastor forty years ago and
- 24:26Speaker 2: he was a Houston institution. By the way, the church
- 24:30Speaker 2: was founded. Do you know the story. Do you know
- 24:32Speaker 2: where the church was founded? No, So the church was founded.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I don't know the exact year, but Texas was an
- 24:40Speaker 2: independent nation between eighteen thirty six and eighteen forty five,
- 24:44Speaker 2: and First Baptist Church of Houston was founded somewhere in
- 24:46Speaker 2: that nine year period. I don't remember the year. And
- 24:49Speaker 2: Pastor Greg said one time, he said, look, this church
- 24:52Speaker 2: was actually founded by American missionaries who were coming to
- 24:57Speaker 2: a foreign nation. And the foreign nation was the republ
- 25:00Speaker 2: Book of Texas. So American nations went from America to
- 25:03Speaker 2: the Republic of Texas and they founded the church. Anyway,
- 25:09Speaker 2: what he said to the men in the church. And
- 25:11Speaker 2: by the way, so Pastor Greg built up breakaway and
- 25:14Speaker 2: it was getting ten thousand students a week to come
- 25:17Speaker 2: to this Bible study at A and M. And then
- 25:21Speaker 2: when doctor Bassanio retired First Baptist did a search who's
- 25:25Speaker 2: our new pastor, and they actually found Pastor Greg. He
- 25:28Speaker 2: was thirty three years old and they brought him in.
- 25:32Speaker 2: He'd never pastored to church. He just like led this
- 25:34Speaker 2: Bible study at A and M. They brought him in
- 25:37Speaker 2: and he's led. Pastor Greg and I are exactly the
- 25:39Speaker 2: same age, we're both fifty five, and they brought him in, like,
- 25:43Speaker 2: and he's become our pastor. And he is. He's a
- 25:46Speaker 2: great pastor. But what I admire most about him is
- 25:48Speaker 2: he's incredibly humble. Yes, Like Heidi doesn't like megachurches. She
- 25:54Speaker 2: grew up in a very small church in the central
- 25:56Speaker 2: coast to California. She likes small, intimate churches where you
- 25:59Speaker 2: have forty people there on Sunday morning, like like where
- 26:02Speaker 2: everyone knows everyone. And First Baptist is a huge church.
- 26:06Speaker 2: The only reason we go there is because she likes
- 26:09Speaker 2: Pastor Greg so much that she's just like, all right,
- 26:12Speaker 2: I will endure the larger.
- 26:14Speaker 3: The larger crowds.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, But part of the reason she likes him and
- 26:20Speaker 2: I like him is he is genuinely humble and he's
- 26:23Speaker 2: a godly man, Like he's a lot of pastors of
- 26:27Speaker 2: megachurches are are are frankly arrogant. I mean hubris. Look,
- 26:31Speaker 2: hubris is is.
- 26:32Speaker 3: They become rock stars in a bubble.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Pride is a temptation in the ministry, It's a temptation
- 26:38Speaker 2: in politics, it's a temptation in the media. Like you
- 26:41Speaker 2: like it's it's easy when you're surrounded by adulation to
- 26:46Speaker 2: believe it, and it's hard to resist it. And I
- 26:49Speaker 2: will say Pastor Greg does an amazing job. He and
- 26:53Speaker 2: I spend every month. Actually something we've started this year
- 26:57Speaker 2: which I'm really grateful for. He's begun coming over to
- 26:59Speaker 2: my house else once a month Sunday afternoons or evenings,
- 27:05Speaker 2: just to have a Bible study and prayer session together,
- 27:08Speaker 2: which I'm grateful for. But anyway, his David sermon, when
- 27:13Speaker 2: he talks about Bethshiev, he says, I want to talk
- 27:15Speaker 2: to the men in the congregation, and he said, you
- 27:18Speaker 2: may think you are strong, you may think you have integrity,
- 27:22Speaker 2: you have resolved, and he said, I want to tell
- 27:25Speaker 2: you when temptation presents itself, run run, just get away.
- 27:33Speaker 2: He said. The mistake David made is he's on the
- 27:35Speaker 2: roof of his palacies looking down, and he kept watching.
- 27:40Speaker 2: What David should have done is turn around. And by
- 27:42Speaker 2: the way, the Bible describes David as a man after
- 27:44Speaker 2: God's own heart, and he said, David should have turned
- 27:47Speaker 2: around and just gotten himself out of that.
- 27:49Speaker 1: So before we wrap, I want to get back to
- 27:52Speaker 1: something else political world that I do think is important
- 27:54Speaker 1: for us to cover real quick. And that is the
- 27:57Speaker 1: one thing that the Democrats seem to be being able
- 27:59Speaker 1: to grab on, and it's saying tangible here is gas prices.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I know you've been around the president, I know you're
- 28:05Speaker 1: in DC. The President's been pretty clear about this. This
- 28:09Speaker 1: is gonna be short term increase. Democrats do seem to
- 28:12Speaker 1: be latching onto this. Like remember when egg prices is
- 28:14Speaker 1: like a big thing and the putt of world. This
- 28:16Speaker 1: is the new egg price thing, right, Oh my gosh,
- 28:19Speaker 1: Donald Trump say he's a lower price to the pump
- 28:20Speaker 1: for you. Look at it now, Look how bad it is.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Now it's gonna be you know, ten hours a gallon
- 28:25Speaker 1: in California, it's gonna be five six hours gallon everywhere else.
- 28:27Speaker 3: The President's come out and says it's gonna be short term.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I believe him.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I think also seeing how hard we're hitting a RAN
- 28:33Speaker 1: right now is also showing the timeline here that they
- 28:37Speaker 1: are wanting to do everything as fast as they can.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Why drag this out, go all in, do it quickly,
- 28:44Speaker 1: get the pain over with and let those people hopefully
- 28:46Speaker 1: rise up and take over a RAN and actually move forward.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Are you that worried about about the gas prices? I'm
- 28:54Speaker 3: I'm not yet.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Like, if it's three months from now or two months
- 28:56Speaker 1: from now, I'm gonna be more worried. But right now
- 28:58Speaker 1: I feel like this is exactly on schedule or ahead
- 29:01Speaker 1: of schedule, as the White House has described it.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Yeah. So, look, there's been a short term increase in
- 29:06Speaker 2: gas prices, and any time there's a military conflict in
- 29:09Speaker 2: the Middle East, gas prices go up because a lot
- 29:12Speaker 2: of oil comes from the Middle East, and so military
- 29:16Speaker 2: conflict has an effect on supplying demand. I think this
- 29:20Speaker 2: will be short term. One of the things to remember
- 29:23Speaker 2: is so six months ago, gas prices were about I
- 29:28Speaker 2: don't have the exact number off the top of my head,
- 29:30Speaker 2: but about two dollars and fifty cents a gallon. Yeah,
- 29:33Speaker 2: they've risen about a dollar. They are about three dollars
- 29:35Speaker 2: and fifty cents a gallon. This is national averages. And
- 29:39Speaker 2: so it is true that over the last six months
- 29:42Speaker 2: gasoline prices have risen. Where were they eighteen months ago
- 29:47Speaker 2: under Joe Biden there were nearly six dollars a gallon,
- 29:50Speaker 2: So by any measure, there was massively cheaper than Joe Biden. Yes,
- 29:55Speaker 2: they've gone up from about two fifty to about three fifty,
- 29:58Speaker 2: But I think this is a short term increase. And
- 30:01Speaker 2: I got to say, if and when the Iranian regime collapses,
- 30:05Speaker 2: and by the way, we've utterly degraded their military and
- 30:08Speaker 2: we've taken out the Ittola and the senior military leadership,
- 30:11Speaker 2: if and when we have a government in Iran that
- 30:15Speaker 2: is not a radical theocratic Islamist government who wants to
- 30:19Speaker 2: murder America, who is funding terrorists all across the world,
- 30:22Speaker 2: who is actively trying to murder Americans every single day,
- 30:26Speaker 2: If we have just a normal government, I don't really
- 30:28Speaker 2: care who we have, just as long as it's not
- 30:30Speaker 2: a crazy person killing Americans, the effect on global gas
- 30:35Speaker 2: prices will be to lower them significantly. So I actually
- 30:38Speaker 2: think this conflict in the long term or even the
- 30:41Speaker 2: medium term, will have a substantial downward pressure on gasoline prices.
- 30:45Speaker 2: There's a short period where prices have spiked somewhat, although
- 30:49Speaker 2: to be clear, they're much much lower than under Biden,
- 30:52Speaker 2: but they are higher than they were six months ago
- 30:54Speaker 2: under Trump. Look, I think the Democrats are attacking gas
- 30:58Speaker 2: prices because they hate Trump and they're just everything Trump
- 31:01Speaker 2: does is wrong. This is an incredibly important decision that
- 31:09Speaker 2: Trump has made for advancing US national security. And I
- 31:12Speaker 2: will say part of the reason why, when like I
- 31:15Speaker 2: was being questioned on Lindsay Graham, I like Lindsay as
- 31:18Speaker 2: I said, I agree with him sometimes, I disagree with
- 31:20Speaker 2: them sometimes. But what the questioning really was about is
- 31:24Speaker 2: Isn't the Iran war about Israel? Isn't this all about Israel?
- 31:28Speaker 2: And the suggestion was Israel or as a puppet master
- 31:31Speaker 2: controlling Donald Trump. That's just a blatant lie. This military
- 31:36Speaker 2: conflict has very little to do with Israel. The reason
- 31:41Speaker 2: President Trump decided to attack Iran is because Iran has
- 31:45Speaker 2: been waging war with America for forty seven years and
- 31:47Speaker 2: they've killed nearly a thousand Americans and they're the leading
- 31:50Speaker 2: state sponsor of terrorism the world. And so the people
- 31:55Speaker 2: trying to say I don't want another war for Israel.
- 31:58Speaker 2: I don't want my children to die for the Jews.
- 32:02Speaker 2: That is, that is not honest, because we're doing this
- 32:08Speaker 2: because the regime in Iran is killing Americans. And to
- 32:12Speaker 2: be clear, if they had the capacity, if they had
- 32:15Speaker 2: nuclear weapons, they would kill many many more Americans. If
- 32:20Speaker 2: they could, they would kill you and me right now, Ben,
- 32:23Speaker 2: if they could, every listener of this podcast, they would
- 32:26Speaker 2: kill If they had a nuclear weapon, I believe there
- 32:28Speaker 2: is a real possibility they would detonate it in the
- 32:31Speaker 2: skies of Tel Aviv or New York or Los Angeles.
- 32:34Speaker 2: And I'm not interested in seeing a day where hundreds
- 32:38Speaker 2: of thousands of Americans are murdered by an iatola channing
- 32:42Speaker 2: death to America. That's why President Trump acted. But it
- 32:45Speaker 2: was not about Israel. It was about America, and I
- 32:49Speaker 2: think we need to be very very clear about that.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I also think one of the other things that I
- 32:53Speaker 1: think is really frustrating is just saying how many people
- 32:55Speaker 1: act as if somehow Donald Trump was hoodwinked by Israel
- 32:59Speaker 1: for us to get involved in this war.
- 33:01Speaker 3: And you were asked about that.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I was asked about as well on TV, and I
- 33:04Speaker 1: said that is the biggest load of crap I've heard
- 33:06Speaker 1: in a long time. President Trump isn't hoodwink by anybody.
- 33:09Speaker 1: President Trump isn't walked around by anyone. And if you've
- 33:13Speaker 1: ever been around him, you know that. I think it
- 33:15Speaker 1: goes back to what you just said. The President understood
- 33:18Speaker 1: the national security risks not to Israel, all right there,
- 33:21Speaker 1: This is America first, correct, it's America and the national
- 33:24Speaker 1: security threat to America, and clear the fact that they're
- 33:27Speaker 1: trying to kill and have sent people and train people
- 33:30Speaker 1: and pay people to try to kill the President of
- 33:32Speaker 1: the United States of America. Also people in the last administration.
- 33:35Speaker 1: John Bolton, for example, was one of those. There's several
- 33:37Speaker 1: others on this list that have actually have been they've
- 33:40Speaker 1: had hits out all O'Brien hook, Yes, exactly, So you
- 33:44Speaker 1: go with the list here. The President was clear about
- 33:47Speaker 1: this that this is about America. And I think that's
- 33:51Speaker 1: another example when I said there's like four or five
- 33:53Speaker 1: working theories Democrats throwing jel at to wall saying does
- 33:56Speaker 1: any of this fit with Americans? I also think it's
- 33:58Speaker 1: very interesting and final to you. I don't think the
- 34:01Speaker 1: American people are buying this, and part of it's because
- 34:04Speaker 1: I think Democrats have just said some of those orlandis
- 34:07Speaker 1: and crazy things on every issue, tried to hurt Donald Trump.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Now it's becoming a little bit more of white noise,
- 34:13Speaker 1: and that's that I'm thankful for that, to be honest
- 34:15Speaker 1: with you.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I think that's right. And and look, some
- 34:19Speaker 2: of the reaction of the voters will depend on how
- 34:21Speaker 2: this plays out. If this military conflict lasts many months
- 34:27Speaker 2: or years, if we're sitting here a year from now
- 34:29Speaker 2: and still mired to military conflict, if we've got a
- 34:33Speaker 2: massive troop presence on the ground, if we have hundreds
- 34:36Speaker 2: or thousands of American soldiers being killed, this war will
- 34:40Speaker 2: be very unpopular. Yeah, I think the chances of that
- 34:44Speaker 2: happening are very very close to zero percent. Iran is
- 34:48Speaker 2: not a raq. We're not going to see a massive
- 34:53Speaker 2: troop presence on the ground. We're not going to see
- 34:55Speaker 2: an extended military occupation. Actually, I want you to listen
- 34:58Speaker 2: to Pete Hagg said making this point, and we're going
- 35:01Speaker 2: to wrap up on this. Listen, listen to the Secretary
- 35:03Speaker 2: of War, Pete Hegseth.
- 35:06Speaker 5: You see, this is not two thousand and three, This
- 35:09Speaker 5: is not endless nation building under those types of quagmires
- 35:14Speaker 5: we saw under Bush or Obama. It's not even close.
- 35:19Speaker 5: Our generation of soldier will not let that happen again,
- 35:22Speaker 5: and nor will this president, who very clearly ran against
- 35:26Speaker 5: those kinds of never ending, nebulously scoped missions. Those days
- 35:32Speaker 5: are dead. Instead, we're winning decisively with brutal efficiency, total
- 35:38Speaker 5: air dominance, and an unbreakable will to accomplish the President's
- 35:43Speaker 5: objectives on our timeline. We stay locked on the target
- 35:48Speaker 5: because here at the Department of War, that's our job.
- 35:51Speaker 3: You listen to Pete there.
- 35:53Speaker 1: This is one of the reasons why I actually think
- 35:54Speaker 1: it was a blessing that he was named and made
- 35:56Speaker 1: it through confirmation.
- 35:57Speaker 2: He's a guy that he's a combat veteran who's been
- 36:00Speaker 2: in harm's way.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a guy that I think is genuinely
- 36:04Speaker 1: in the room advocating to make sure that what happened
- 36:07Speaker 1: to a lot of his colleagues when he was serving
- 36:09Speaker 1: in uniform and deployed, that doesn't happen to this group
- 36:13Speaker 1: of soldiers now.
- 36:15Speaker 3: And it's clear that this is personal for him.
- 36:18Speaker 1: That's why I'm so thankful that he's there in this
- 36:20Speaker 1: position because he lived the other side of it that
- 36:23Speaker 1: he was just describing.
- 36:25Speaker 2: Right, Look, avoiding endless wars does not mean embracing isolationism. Yeah,
- 36:31Speaker 2: peace through strength is what Reagan called it. Donald Trump
- 36:35Speaker 2: just understands it as being a strong commander in chief
- 36:38Speaker 2: that when people are killing Americans, he is going to
- 36:41Speaker 2: respond vigorously to take them out. And by the way,
- 36:44Speaker 2: our enemies are terrified. As I've said before, at three
- 36:48Speaker 2: am on January third, there was not a Latin American
- 36:52Speaker 2: dictator who didn't have to change his shorts because that's
- 36:55Speaker 2: when President Trump sees Nicholas Maduro is happening in Iran.
- 37:01Speaker 2: The top leadership has been taken out. Every bad guy,
- 37:04Speaker 2: every person who hates America is really really worried right
- 37:07Speaker 2: now because this is a nation that defends itself. And
- 37:10Speaker 2: by the way, that makes clear, if you kill Americans,
- 37:13Speaker 2: there are going to be massive consequences to it. Barack
- 37:17Speaker 2: Obama and Joe Biden's weakness and appeasement that if you
- 37:20Speaker 2: kill Americans, oh well, we're not going to do anything
- 37:23Speaker 2: about it. That invites more people to target and kill Americans.
- 37:27Speaker 2: This is about avoiding war by being strong enough to
- 37:31Speaker 2: take out the people that are killing Americans and that
- 37:35Speaker 2: avoids protracted military conflict. I think that's what we're seeing
- 37:39Speaker 2: right now, and it makes America a whole lot safer.
- 37:42Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt about it.
