- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on uh huh I show will good morning everybody,
- 0:08Speaker 1: y'all listen to the bars, come on, dig me not
- 0:10Speaker 1: want and on it. Steve Harvey got a radio show,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Man on Man on Man. Grateful for it comes with
- 0:21Speaker 1: a huge amount of responsibility. I didn't really know I
- 0:26Speaker 1: was gonna have to be this responsible, you know. UM,
- 0:30Speaker 1: can I share something with y'all? You know, Um, I
- 0:34Speaker 1: started out uh to finally I had gotten on track
- 0:39Speaker 1: and was able to see away uh to even uh
- 0:45Speaker 1: uh pursue uh my dream. Um it has been Um.
- 0:54Speaker 1: It has been a long, a long trip that I've
- 0:56Speaker 1: been on. Uh and I've gone through so many phases
- 1:00Speaker 1: of it. Um it is. It is rewarding along the way, uh,
- 1:11Speaker 1: to accomplish your dreams. What I'm saying is this, let
- 1:14Speaker 1: me let me put it together because I got so
- 1:16Speaker 1: much running through my head right now. You know. It's
- 1:20Speaker 1: it's one thing to accomplish your dreams, but there's joy
- 1:25Speaker 1: in the process of achieving it. See, some people are
- 1:30Speaker 1: so caught up in the goal, the final goal, that
- 1:35Speaker 1: they find no joy, no enjoyment in the process. If
- 1:43Speaker 1: you have found what it is you want to do
- 1:48Speaker 1: and you strike out on that journey. Please understand you
- 1:52Speaker 1: are far more blessed than the average person. Do you
- 1:56Speaker 1: understand that to know what it is you really want
- 2:00Speaker 1: to do, to find your work in life, your purpose,
- 2:06Speaker 1: to find out what direction you want to go in,
- 2:10Speaker 1: is such a blessing. The average person, if you sit
- 2:14Speaker 1: down and talk to them, oftentimes don't have their life
- 2:19Speaker 1: on track. And it'd be some people that you're looking
- 2:21Speaker 1: at you think God are going on because of their appearance,
- 2:26Speaker 1: their swagger. Oh they walk like it, they talk like it,
- 2:29Speaker 1: they look like it. But if you sit down and
- 2:31Speaker 1: talk to the average person, the average person man does
- 2:36Speaker 1: not know what their purpose is, has not discovered what
- 2:40Speaker 1: they wanna do, and have no idea how to get there.
- 2:44Speaker 1: If you are on the other side of that, if
- 2:46Speaker 1: you understand your purpose, if you have an idea of
- 2:50Speaker 1: what you wanna be, and you are on your way there,
- 2:54Speaker 1: you are truly blessed. And in that blessing you must
- 3:00Speaker 1: recognize it as a blessed. You must recognize the fact
- 3:04Speaker 1: that you are you are on the right side, and
- 3:10Speaker 1: that there should be a sense of accomplishment and a
- 3:13Speaker 1: feeling of pride in you that you are on track
- 3:16Speaker 1: to accomplish your goal. See what used to happen was
- 3:21Speaker 1: sometimes I used to keep my nose so on the
- 3:24Speaker 1: grindstone that I wouldn't even look up and realize. Man, hey, man,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I know you're trying to get here, but Steve, hold on, Man,
- 3:34Speaker 1: can't you see what you've done so far? Can't you
- 3:37Speaker 1: find just some joy in the process. See, a lot
- 3:40Speaker 1: of us lose the joy of the blessings God has
- 3:43Speaker 1: given us because we're looking at the end tomorrow. I
- 3:46Speaker 1: ain't there yet, You're on your way. I'm gonna give
- 3:50Speaker 1: you an example. I had a friend who told me
- 3:54Speaker 1: that they wanted to be a million now, and they
- 3:57Speaker 1: asked me some questions and I told so they started
- 4:01Speaker 1: the process. And I am telling you, this dude works
- 4:07Speaker 1: extremely hard. So about a year later we were talking.
- 4:13Speaker 1: He had found this business, he had uh set his goal,
- 4:19Speaker 1: and he was working towards him. And I checked him
- 4:24Speaker 1: by the year. Then about two years later I ran
- 4:27Speaker 1: up into him again. We were talking about it and everything.
- 4:29Speaker 1: It's a man really really appreciate advice. He said, Man,
- 4:33Speaker 1: but this is this is it's all jacked up, man,
- 4:36Speaker 1: cause I still ain't made that million I was talking about.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I said, well, hey, man, just just keep at it.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It's coming. He's a man. Keep at it. Man, You
- 4:44Speaker 1: know how long I've been doing this? And I got quiet, cause, yeah,
- 4:48Speaker 1: I know exactly how long you've been been two years now.
- 4:51Speaker 1: And I didn't say that to him, but I said
- 4:53Speaker 1: to myself, yeah, two years. He's a man. I've been
- 4:56Speaker 1: grinding so long. Man, it's just it ain't having it
- 4:59Speaker 1: from me. I said, wait a minute, man, hold hold on,
- 5:02Speaker 1: hold on. I said, about how much you're making right
- 5:04Speaker 1: now a year? Man, about two hundred fifty thousands. I
- 5:12Speaker 1: quit breathing. I said, well, my man, two years ago
- 5:19Speaker 1: you didn't have a clue. Two years later, you're making
- 5:24Speaker 1: a quarter of a million dollars. I said, man, do
- 5:28Speaker 1: you understand how blessed you are? I said, man, your
- 5:31Speaker 1: family was about to get put out two years ago.
- 5:36Speaker 1: You don't borrow the house? Yeah, man, but this ain't
- 5:38Speaker 1: the house. I really won't whoa partner? Whoa I got that?
- 5:42Speaker 1: I got that house. You really won't make my car
- 5:46Speaker 1: five eight million? I don't know, But man, y'all got
- 5:50Speaker 1: a house, you're making a payments, you drive it. You
- 5:52Speaker 1: ain't out no more. I said, hold on, man, you
- 5:54Speaker 1: gotta stop, I said, you got to stop. I said, man,
- 5:56Speaker 1: because right now, man, you you're coming across as real
- 5:59Speaker 1: ungrateful to me. So I know, God, who has done
- 6:02Speaker 1: all this for you got to be looking at you
- 6:04Speaker 1: with his own folded. But then he God, so he
- 6:07Speaker 1: probably handled it all together different. I was just speculating
- 6:10Speaker 1: with him, and so he said, man, why are you
- 6:11Speaker 1: tripping like that? Man? Man, you act like don't nobody
- 6:14Speaker 1: want to have nothing but you? I said, whoa man?
- 6:16Speaker 1: Where are you going with this conversation? I said, Oh,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I didn't come to you. I just came to you
- 6:20Speaker 1: and ask you how you doing. And I'm trying to
- 6:22Speaker 1: point out to you that the journey that you started on,
- 6:26Speaker 1: that you are on your way, and you are in
- 6:28Speaker 1: the process of accomplishing your goals. And can you not
- 6:31Speaker 1: feel some joy and some pleasure in your accomplishment. Quit
- 6:36Speaker 1: tripping on the fact that you ain't made a million yet.
- 6:38Speaker 1: You on your way. You don't went from your He thought,
- 6:41Speaker 1: this dude was making fifteen thousand dollars a year. You
- 6:43Speaker 1: making quarter of a million dollars in two years. May
- 6:45Speaker 1: come on, man, can't you see? Can't you see? So
- 6:50Speaker 1: he said, eventually, Man, I kind of see what you're saying,
- 6:53Speaker 1: But that ain't about nothing to me because I never
- 6:57Speaker 1: ran up into him. A year and a half later,
- 7:00Speaker 1: How you doing, man, Man, I show wish I had
- 7:04Speaker 1: appreciated my life when I had it like that. I said,
- 7:07Speaker 1: what you may had it like that and just fell
- 7:10Speaker 1: on some hard times. Man, I'm right back why I was.
- 7:14Speaker 1: And then we talked. I said, hey, man, don't worry
- 7:16Speaker 1: about it. I said, Once you know how to accomplish something,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I said, you just reapply the same principles and start
- 7:21Speaker 1: on over again. Man, you know how hard it is
- 7:24Speaker 1: to be to start over. Okay, my man, hold up, partner,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you can do yourself like this again. First, you wasn't
- 7:29Speaker 1: grateful for what you had. Now you're looking at the
- 7:32Speaker 1: fact that you might have to start over, and you
- 7:34Speaker 1: know how hard it is to start over. But you
- 7:36Speaker 1: have the knowledge the principles, and you got a little
- 7:39Speaker 1: bit of money to go on and get it going again.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I said, Man, don't keep doing this to yourself. I said, Man,
- 7:44Speaker 1: you ain't grateful no matter what God do for you.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So what you need to do, partner, stop reassess yourself.
- 7:51Speaker 1: The fact that you were not grateful in the first place.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Could that be the reason why? You know? Man, maybe
- 7:58Speaker 1: I'm not calling it cause I ain't got I do
- 8:00Speaker 1: not know how he thinks, nor do I claim to know.
- 8:03Speaker 1: But let's just imagine for a moment. Let's just say,
- 8:08Speaker 1: maybe for a moment, maybe God said, Okay, you ain't
- 8:14Speaker 1: happy with this. Okay, didn't handle it your way? You
- 8:18Speaker 1: obviously ain't happy with the way I'm bringing it into
- 8:20Speaker 1: your life. You want to handle it your way, Go
- 8:22Speaker 1: ahead and handle it because he will let you have
- 8:24Speaker 1: it your way. Can I tell you that he will
- 8:27Speaker 1: let you do it exactly the way you want to it,
- 8:29Speaker 1: because he gives us all the power of choice. So
- 8:31Speaker 1: then maybe he said, Okay, you don't appreciate the way
- 8:34Speaker 1: I'm doing it. You don't like the favor I'm showing you.
- 8:37Speaker 1: You think it's take it too long. I'm gonna let
- 8:39Speaker 1: you do it your way. I'm not gonna turn my
- 8:41Speaker 1: back on you. I'm just gonna let you do it
- 8:43Speaker 1: your way. Just just say. Maybe he said that, and
- 8:48Speaker 1: now he right back where he was. So what I
- 8:51Speaker 1: try to get the young cat to understand was, man,
- 8:55Speaker 1: appreciate your life for what it is, because like um Life,
- 9:00Speaker 1: Jenny has got that song that he got out off
- 9:02Speaker 1: this album. Still I still believe it could have been worse,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and now that it is worse. What's on your mind now, folks,
- 9:11Speaker 1: If you are on that side of life where you
- 9:13Speaker 1: have figured out what you wanna do, you know how
- 9:15Speaker 1: you're gonna get that, and you know your purpose. You're
- 9:18Speaker 1: accomplishing what the majority of people never ever do. So
- 9:21Speaker 1: be grateful for your process. Be grateful for the fact
- 9:25Speaker 1: that you ain't got what, you won't yet everything, but
- 9:27Speaker 1: you are on your way to getting it. That is
- 9:29Speaker 1: some gratitude that has to be shown in that regard. Okay,
- 9:33Speaker 1: don't tumble yourself, don't throw yourself off the cliff. It's
- 9:37Speaker 1: gonna be all right. Success takes a measure of time.
- 9:41Speaker 1: It is not easy. If successful easy, everybody would be successful.
- 9:47Speaker 1: The usually the difference between people who are successful in
- 9:51Speaker 1: people who are not is that the successful people never
- 9:54Speaker 1: gave up. You got to stay with it. Please be
- 10:01Speaker 1: encouraged if you stay with it, if you never give up,
- 10:05Speaker 1: God will bring you through. That's a one percent for show,
- 10:10Speaker 1: because that's his promise. Now, if we could just keep
- 10:14Speaker 1: our end of the bargain. That's the trick, all right, y'all.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I'm sorry this warning if I sounded a little all
- 10:21Speaker 1: over the place, in a little jumble, but that's how
- 10:23Speaker 1: it came to me. So you know, uh, y'all, keep
- 10:27Speaker 1: your head up. You're listening. St eighteen minutes out of
- 10:34Speaker 1: the hoys, we'll welcome to the ride. It is the
- 10:36Speaker 1: Steve Hobby Morning Show. Uncle Stephens traveling back, oh from
- 10:41Speaker 1: Miss Universe. Oh dear, we'll talk about that shortly. He's
- 10:45Speaker 1: traveling back him in Junior. But me and the girls
- 10:48Speaker 1: as always holding it down, top top, top top, top
- 10:51Speaker 1: of the moan into the whole world. That's listening on
- 10:54Speaker 1: top of the beautiful ladies. Shirley's jew Berry. Hey, good morning, nephew.
- 10:59Speaker 1: You're in a good mood to day to hear that.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Happy Monday to you. Good morning, Carla and juniors with
- 11:06Speaker 1: your uncle of course. And yeah, he wrote some of
- 11:09Speaker 1: the show yesterday. You guys get to see something. We'll
- 11:11Speaker 1: talk soon as Carlin Fer, good morning, good morning, good
- 11:15Speaker 1: morning crew. What's up nephew holding it down? My girl,
- 11:17Speaker 1: Shirley Strawberry, Happy Monday to you, and yes we did
- 11:22Speaker 1: watch the Miss Universe Patges Shirley and now we're on
- 11:24Speaker 1: the phone. You know we do that. There were shows
- 11:27Speaker 1: and award shows. Yeah, we Steve did great, right, he
- 11:34Speaker 1: he was a little slow because he would read everything
- 11:36Speaker 1: full time to make show. And when when Miss Um
- 11:41Speaker 1: Philippines from last year, when she gave him the glasses
- 11:44Speaker 1: right before he read the winter, that was really that
- 11:47Speaker 1: was really cheap. Really he did a great job, he
- 11:51Speaker 1: really did. I thought Miss Hayes he was gonna wind. Yeah,
- 11:58Speaker 1: I said Miss France, so I was surely not. Miss
- 12:01Speaker 1: France got it. Yeah, I wanted to. I wanted Miss Columbia.
- 12:05Speaker 1: She was absolutely dropped gorgeous. I mean that's some beautiful,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I mean absolutely beautiful women in the Missy universe. Ms
- 12:13Speaker 1: Um Miss Kenya, Yes, miss miss Kenya, the first Miss
- 12:19Speaker 1: Black Brazil. Yes she was. I mean just on Andy
- 12:26Speaker 1: spoke well to Yes she did. She was very articulous.
- 12:29Speaker 1: She had she was kind of like a full figured woman.
- 12:32Speaker 1: She was very curvy. I loved her, very confident, very
- 12:36Speaker 1: us as beautiful she was. She was. But let me
- 12:40Speaker 1: ask you, didn't they answer it later? A tall question
- 12:45Speaker 1: and then her answer was nothing but hype. But I
- 12:53Speaker 1: think the language barrier sometimes gets in the way. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:58Speaker 1: of the questions and the answers, what did she think?
- 13:02Speaker 1: To the effect it was something like, you're tall for
- 13:05Speaker 1: your country. Yeah, you're a foot taller than I guess
- 13:08Speaker 1: the average height of women in your country. And I
- 13:10Speaker 1: don't want to say I don't know if it was miss.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I don't want to say the wrong country. We have
- 13:15Speaker 1: enough miss uniforms issues. But anyway, and so Steve was
- 13:20Speaker 1: asking her, um, how do you feel about that? Because
- 13:24Speaker 1: you know you're you're six ft so she didn't look
- 13:26Speaker 1: like a giant on stage because Steve is, what about
- 13:29Speaker 1: six six too, So they were kind of like eye
- 13:32Speaker 1: to eye. So when when he asked that question, I said,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I SHO didn't look that tall. But then he was
- 13:37Speaker 1: explaining the average height and she didn't explain nothing. So
- 13:43Speaker 1: her answer was it was kind of like, um, it's
- 13:49Speaker 1: a blessing and help others. That's something like I can
- 13:54Speaker 1: see if he was reaching for something to help somebody.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Was a little time correctly, like I said, the language barrier,
- 14:02Speaker 1: but nerves, yeah, and and they're no nervous because I
- 14:06Speaker 1: don't know the question and it's coming, you know. Yeah,
- 14:08Speaker 1: But that's part of being it, you know, exactly to
- 14:13Speaker 1: respond well in those type situations. But they were dropped
- 14:16Speaker 1: at gorgeous. I mean all of them. They were beautiful
- 14:19Speaker 1: and Steve did a great job. Mexico was cold, she
- 14:23Speaker 1: was good. Love good. Thailand was good. Miss Times Thailand. Yeah,
- 14:27Speaker 1: it made me love all the countries more. The world.
- 14:31Speaker 1: We want to embrace the world. We met last year,
- 14:34Speaker 1: do you guys remember we met Miss Cayman Islands. Miss
- 14:37Speaker 1: Cayman Islands was like right there in the front. She
- 14:41Speaker 1: was in the front, the sister with the short hair.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yeah as well. I stood next to her, Miss Cayman Islands.
- 14:49Speaker 1: What are we going back next month? Yes, we will
- 14:52Speaker 1: get wed. She let me wear her crown. Really surely.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It was beautiful. We had a great time there and
- 15:02Speaker 1: but but all in all, I'd say the Miss Universe
- 15:05Speaker 1: pageant was really pretty and I like the boys a minute.
- 15:08Speaker 1: That was good to get boys to Man performed, Yeah,
- 15:12Speaker 1: he performed. Cynthia Bailey was one of the judges from
- 15:15Speaker 1: Real Housewives Up Atlanta. She was one of the judges. Yeah,
- 15:19Speaker 1: he was at the very beginning when they introduced all
- 15:22Speaker 1: of the contestants. So we're gonna play highlights. We got
- 15:25Speaker 1: highlights from your uncle nephew, so we're gonna a lot
- 15:28Speaker 1: of pauses and what you got. He was funny though
- 15:33Speaker 1: he was he was on this game though last night
- 15:35Speaker 1: he was like you or not? Did you see how
- 15:38Speaker 1: long it took before he said France, If not there
- 15:41Speaker 1: a second, y'all gonna put it up there. I want,
- 15:44Speaker 1: I wanted on the car and on the telepromm. We
- 15:47Speaker 1: want to see it all. Okay you sure? Yeah? Throwing
- 15:52Speaker 1: up there again, very well France. And then when she
- 15:58Speaker 1: took her walk and got her crowd good night. It
- 16:04Speaker 1: was good. He did a good job. And again if
- 16:08Speaker 1: you miss it, we got some highlights coming stick around
- 16:10Speaker 1: all morning. This hour. Got the tall question. I don't
- 16:14Speaker 1: know if I have the tall question, and we gotta
- 16:16Speaker 1: let that one go. We're gonna be nice. Zag awards
- 16:21Speaker 1: were last night, Yes, surely Denzel Washington one for Best
- 16:26Speaker 1: Actor for Fences, which I think he should have won. Absolutely.
- 16:30Speaker 1: His speech was when he got up on stage, because
- 16:32Speaker 1: you know, he's he's like a I won't say a
- 16:35Speaker 1: Bible scholar, but he's really into the Bible. He's read
- 16:37Speaker 1: it front to back, like I don't know how many times.
- 16:41Speaker 1: So he's Yeah. So when he did a book at
- 16:44Speaker 1: ELI and he was in brill, he had already read
- 16:46Speaker 1: already read it, right, So he got up on stage
- 16:48Speaker 1: when he won. He was stunned. You could see the
- 16:51Speaker 1: look on his face. He was not expecting to win.
- 16:53Speaker 1: He got up on stage and said, I'm a god
- 16:56Speaker 1: fearing man, he said, but I have to tell you
- 16:59Speaker 1: I had no ethan this one. He said. I'm just
- 17:01Speaker 1: gonna be honest. He said, I thought they were going
- 17:04Speaker 1: to give it to the young guy. I think he
- 17:05Speaker 1: was meaning Casey Affleck for Manchester by the Sea. He said,
- 17:09Speaker 1: I saw that. Yeah, he was it good. It's a
- 17:12Speaker 1: good movie. Okay, Well I'm biased because I'm a Denzel fanatic.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, but it was. It was. It was a
- 17:18Speaker 1: very it was very good for y'all wouldn't sit through it,
- 17:23Speaker 1: but for an actor to watch it, it's good. Does
- 17:26Speaker 1: that make sense? Yeah? Yeah, we appreciate that. Oh yeah,
- 17:30Speaker 1: that's why I appreciate Denzel's performance so much. Violet Davis
- 17:33Speaker 1: one as well, so being a member of saying I
- 17:36Speaker 1: get all these films sent to him. That's right. Okay,
- 17:39Speaker 1: so I haven't watched him all, but I did watch
- 17:41Speaker 1: man Chester? I watch of course, I watched Fences. I
- 17:44Speaker 1: have Jackie Oh to watch. I have La La La
- 17:48Speaker 1: La La, and to watch Moon. Um. I got all
- 17:51Speaker 1: these things to watch. I haven't watched yet. He kind
- 17:55Speaker 1: of say, we'll be back. We have much more on
- 18:00Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. We'll be back at thirty
- 18:02Speaker 1: four after the hour you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 18:06Speaker 1: All right, the voice of Junior, who is on the
- 18:09Speaker 1: plane with Uncle Steve, your uncle nephew coming back from
- 18:14Speaker 1: the Philippines. Successfully? Yeah, successfully? Are they gonna be able
- 18:19Speaker 1: to get back in the country. See there, you saying
- 18:23Speaker 1: you gotta ask today to talk about this band we
- 18:27Speaker 1: need to talk about I feel like we gotta walk
- 18:29Speaker 1: around with our freedom papers. This is getting scary, y'all.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Don't feel like y'all need your freedom paper. This boy's
- 18:35Speaker 1: been in office ten days and you need your freedom paper.
- 18:41Speaker 1: All right, y'all gonna answer my question. What do I
- 18:46Speaker 1: need freedom papers to move around the country. I'm just asked.
- 18:52Speaker 1: This looks crazy, man. Yeah. President Trump signed an executive
- 18:55Speaker 1: order on Friday night to keep refugees from entering the
- 18:59Speaker 1: country four d and twenty days and immigrants from seven
- 19:03Speaker 1: predominantly Mussim nations out for three months. The countries affected
- 19:08Speaker 1: our Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, and Somalia. You
- 19:13Speaker 1: did not hear Philippines on that list, nephew, So you
- 19:16Speaker 1: don't have to worry about your uncle. And they're not
- 19:19Speaker 1: gonna keep my uncle. I'm not gonna happy. I will
- 19:22Speaker 1: go there and give him. You're all gonna keep now
- 19:25Speaker 1: you might, then you better have your papers. Yeah. This
- 19:33Speaker 1: is the extreme vetting Trump promise during the campaign, but
- 19:37Speaker 1: it still seems to have called everyone by surprise. I
- 19:40Speaker 1: mean everyone was shocked by this, every single one. Uh.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Trump on Sunday, still tweeting, of course, rejected the storm
- 19:47Speaker 1: of criticism whipped up by his immigration measures, issuing a
- 19:51Speaker 1: statement that came amid rising criticism of his move by
- 19:54Speaker 1: high profile Republicans. He says, we will continue to show
- 19:57Speaker 1: compassion to those fleeing oppress, but we will do so
- 20:01Speaker 1: while protecting our own citizens and voters. The statement said,
- 20:05Speaker 1: adding this is not a Muslim band because most people
- 20:07Speaker 1: are calling it a Muslim band as a media is
- 20:10Speaker 1: falsely reporting, Well then what is it? So so let
- 20:14Speaker 1: me aage this his short do his wife get to
- 20:17Speaker 1: stay here? Or do do we see let's see there
- 20:23Speaker 1: you go? What we got to look at all of it? Night?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Well he's kidding. You know the backlash. You know yesterday
- 20:29Speaker 1: if you turned on the news, you saw thousands of
- 20:31Speaker 1: people at airport, just straight it. Yeah, and demonstrators also
- 20:36Speaker 1: because probably when he signed this as I cautive order
- 20:40Speaker 1: on Friday, think about people that were flying here Friday night,
- 20:43Speaker 1: they were already on the plane. That's what I'm saying.
- 20:46Speaker 1: There wasn't a warning or anything. It was just during
- 20:49Speaker 1: the campaign he this was one of his campaign problems promises. Now,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I guess a warning. He let the people know at
- 20:57Speaker 1: the top, but it did not come down to like
- 21:00Speaker 1: T S A. And you know, folks, that's what security
- 21:08Speaker 1: officials weren't given much guidance about how the order you know,
- 21:12Speaker 1: was gonna take place and all that. I mean, it
- 21:15Speaker 1: was just such a mess how how the order would
- 21:18Speaker 1: be implemented. They didn't know how to enforce it. Thus
- 21:21Speaker 1: it was just a lot of confusion, a lot of chaos.
- 21:24Speaker 1: And it still is. People don't know if you got
- 21:26Speaker 1: a legitimate green card, you can't use it right now.
- 21:30Speaker 1: It depends on what country here. Yeah, you're from. It
- 21:34Speaker 1: depends on the country. I mean, you saw the protests
- 21:37Speaker 1: in New York, JFK's Airport, l A, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco,
- 21:42Speaker 1: I mean North Carolina. Now, yes, some travelers who were
- 21:47Speaker 1: in the air, like we just mentioned when Trump signed
- 21:50Speaker 1: the order, they weren't able to enter the country when
- 21:52Speaker 1: they landed. Some were detained, others were sent back to
- 21:55Speaker 1: where they flew in from. I mean, just a mess.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Can you imagine? I mean, can you imagine? Yeah, all right,
- 22:01Speaker 1: we'll be back at forty eight after the hour. You're
- 22:04Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Harvey Show. All right, coming up next.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Steve Harvey, our Feels leader, hosted the Miss Universe pageant
- 22:14Speaker 1: for the second time in a row last night. We're
- 22:16Speaker 1: gonna play some of those highlights coming up, so don't
- 22:19Speaker 1: go anym No. He was on point. He really was.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Great job, Steve. Alright, nephew, we talked about it. Your
- 22:35Speaker 1: uncle hosted the missy Universe pageant last night. Yeah, I
- 22:40Speaker 1: did a great job. But we have to take you
- 22:42Speaker 1: back there because he was on point. He was on
- 22:44Speaker 1: fire last night. Very funny Steve. First of all, he
- 22:47Speaker 1: opened the show. Uh with this escape plan, he had
- 22:51Speaker 1: check it out first. This is it. This is the plan.
- 22:55Speaker 1: It went hold for the last year. It cannot happen
- 22:58Speaker 1: a year. So if it happens this here and I
- 23:00Speaker 1: get to the end and the same thing happened wrong name,
- 23:04Speaker 1: I gotta get out of here. I can't take it.
- 23:06Speaker 1: This is in the escape plan. Okay, here's a deal.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Something happens at the end. I get this name wrong.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I stepped to the right. I dropped down in the
- 23:14Speaker 1: trap door. You immediately send out my double trying somebody
- 23:19Speaker 1: here in the Philippines that looked like me remotely. Get
- 23:23Speaker 1: him out on the stage. I'm gonna go up to
- 23:26Speaker 1: the roof. I'm gonna zip line. Look, I've measured it out.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It can go. I can make it. I zip line
- 23:32Speaker 1: over to the upper building. I go down the steps.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I get down to the bottom. There'll be a bakery truck.
- 23:39Speaker 1: That's what this represents right here. It's a baker truck. Wait, no,
- 23:42Speaker 1: this is my ticket out of here. I get in
- 23:44Speaker 1: the bakery truck. I'm at the airport. I'm on the jet.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm in the States. Steven his boys Junior was in
- 23:57Speaker 1: there too. Was the video I missed open. Boy, that
- 24:02Speaker 1: was well thought out. Yeah, but he went on. Junior said,
- 24:06Speaker 1: well what about us? Is the room on to play
- 24:08Speaker 1: for us? And Steve said, don't about to know, y'all.
- 24:14Speaker 1: But he got through it. Yeah he did. He really
- 24:18Speaker 1: did a great job. Okay, he said, it's Steve Harvey's back. Steve,
- 24:23Speaker 1: I know what you're thinking, is that the guy from
- 24:27Speaker 1: last year? Did they bring back that guy from last year? Well?
- 24:38Speaker 1: They did. It's me bad. Oh it's been a long
- 24:44Speaker 1: year getting here too, cause so boy, I paid the
- 24:48Speaker 1: price for last year. But one thing I learned in life,
- 24:51Speaker 1: when you make a mistake, you just gotta keep on
- 24:53Speaker 1: moving forward. Man. That's a lesson learned right there, Steve.
- 24:58Speaker 1: And you had to play it out in front of
- 24:59Speaker 1: the world world. You know, when you fall off that
- 25:01Speaker 1: horse and get up and get back on it. That
- 25:03Speaker 1: that was a great lesson though funny at the same time.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It made you laugh. Right well, Miss Miss Universe, the
- 25:12Speaker 1: real the correct Miss Universe Ms Philippines was there. Of course,
- 25:17Speaker 1: was just gorgeous show dresses. Oh she was so beautiful anyway,
- 25:24Speaker 1: her name was Pia. She thanks Steve for her popularity.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Steve I never got to thank you, but thank you
- 25:30Speaker 1: for making me the most popular Miss Universe. Wor I know, right,
- 25:38Speaker 1: how does how does Columbia feel about Steve? Let's ask
- 25:42Speaker 1: Miss Columbia. I'm with myself. How do people in Columbia
- 25:51Speaker 1: feel about Steve Harvey? Ain't nobody talking to y'all? Want
- 25:58Speaker 1: to know? Just just lie to me, Chris let us.
- 26:05Speaker 1: People hit you, but me, No, I love you. She
- 26:13Speaker 1: was so cute. That's who I wanted to win. She
- 26:16Speaker 1: love me. Three finalists, right, I want to Miss Haiti,
- 26:20Speaker 1: Many Haiti, Miss France, and Miss Columbia with a three
- 26:23Speaker 1: Finally finalists, I picked a hall of those. But but
- 26:26Speaker 1: the funny part. She said, you wanted the truth and
- 26:28Speaker 1: he said, no, just lie to me. She said, a
- 26:31Speaker 1: lot of people hate you, but not me. She said,
- 26:35Speaker 1: a lot of people hate you. It was really but
- 26:40Speaker 1: you know this, you know this, I mean it was.
- 26:43Speaker 1: It was really fun watching him. I we know Steve
- 26:46Speaker 1: so well, so we know his facial expressions and we
- 26:49Speaker 1: know he was a little nervous. But he did dog
- 26:51Speaker 1: on thing last night. He did. Yes, he the moment.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, let's get to that. Okay, watch how long
- 27:03Speaker 1: it take for say, Frank spoiler, thank you so much, Peter,
- 27:09Speaker 1: We're you're late, but thank you, thank you God. Here
- 27:15Speaker 1: we go. The new Miss Universe is friends. You didn't
- 27:35Speaker 1: time and if you didn't see it. Uh. The Miss
- 27:38Speaker 1: University former Miss Universitia from the Philippines brought him out
- 27:41Speaker 1: some glasses to make sure. Yes, you can see what
- 27:46Speaker 1: you read, Yes, to make sure. By the way, Donald
- 27:50Speaker 1: Trump sold the Miss Universe pageant back in two thousand
- 27:53Speaker 1: fifteen to I M G. So he no longer owns that.
- 27:57Speaker 1: In case you didn't know that. Anyway, we'll love more.
- 28:00Speaker 1: It's a lot of other stuff. He's still on the
- 28:02Speaker 1: way today. He supposed to be then got rid of
- 28:05Speaker 1: ain't Why are you locking people out of the country.
- 28:08Speaker 1: You're still owning all this other stuff, locking people like
- 28:12Speaker 1: you're supposed to have had the key to the cities
- 28:13Speaker 1: and stuff. I'm just supposed to give people people key
- 28:16Speaker 1: to the city and show him love. You're locking the
- 28:19Speaker 1: damn dose on the United State. What kind of stuff
- 28:21Speaker 1: is that I've left the people in here? Well, ms
- 28:25Speaker 1: And is coming up. She's gonna have some national news
- 28:28Speaker 1: and we'll talk more about Donald Trump. So stay right here. Wow,
- 28:32Speaker 1: what a day. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 28:35Speaker 1: All right, nephew, let's go to miss and she's standing.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Let's get it. Let's get it. She's here, she's beautiful.
- 28:40Speaker 1: She may have a key to the United States. Let's
- 28:43Speaker 1: check in, beautiful and trip, I think I lost my keys.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Thank you very much, morning everybody, and warning to his
- 28:54Speaker 1: and trips the news, good morning, showing the call the
- 28:56Speaker 1: time the Junior Morning. Demonstrations, of course, took place in
- 28:58Speaker 1: several cities um and at international airports over the weekend,
- 29:02Speaker 1: protesting President Trump's executive order that temporarily keeps people from
- 29:06Speaker 1: seven mostly Muslim countries from entering the US. However, White
- 29:10Speaker 1: House spokesman Show on Spices Set on ABC's This Week
- 29:12Speaker 1: that the administration is standing by its position and with
- 29:15Speaker 1: good reasons. We shouldn't let people just re enter the
- 29:18Speaker 1: country who are not citizens of the United States because
- 29:21Speaker 1: they've gone to a place that we have concerns about.
- 29:24Speaker 1: They should be asked certain questions, they should go through
- 29:26Speaker 1: extreme vetting to make sure that when they re enter
- 29:28Speaker 1: this country that they continue to do so with peaceful purposes. However,
- 29:32Speaker 1: critics of the order want to know why it keeps
- 29:34Speaker 1: green card holders out of the country too, and why
- 29:36Speaker 1: there was no grace period allowed for people who are
- 29:38Speaker 1: already traveling when it took effect. By the way, the
- 29:41Speaker 1: President issued three more executive orders over the weekend, folks
- 29:44Speaker 1: are really paying attention to. Mr Trump issued a memorandum
- 29:47Speaker 1: limiting the powers of both the Director of National Intelligence
- 29:51Speaker 1: and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, while
- 29:54Speaker 1: at the same time reshuffling the National Security Council to
- 29:57Speaker 1: include his controversial chief strategists. Steve Bannon. He's going to
- 30:01Speaker 1: be on it. Steve Bannon ran the Bright Barton News website,
- 30:04Speaker 1: which has been criticizing criticized for providing platform for the
- 30:07Speaker 1: white nationalists Ault right movement. He's going to be on
- 30:11Speaker 1: that panel. Some good news for Flint, Michigan state officials
- 30:14Speaker 1: say the levels of lead and flints drinking water, the
- 30:16Speaker 1: focus of that public health crisis, have now fallen below
- 30:19Speaker 1: federal limits, but they're still telling residents to use filtered
- 30:22Speaker 1: water because the old lead pipes in Flint are being replaced.
- 30:25Speaker 1: A quarter recent study the risk of dying from cervical
- 30:29Speaker 1: cancer may be much higher than previously believed, particularly among
- 30:32Speaker 1: black women. A study from the John Hopkins Bloomberg School
- 30:35Speaker 1: of Health to that African American women are dying from
- 30:38Speaker 1: cancer at a rate seventy seven percent higher than white women,
- 30:41Speaker 1: who have a forty seven percent death rate. So since
- 30:44Speaker 1: is we got to go to the doctors and we
- 30:45Speaker 1: got to check ourselves often? Okay? Off? All right? On
- 30:49Speaker 1: a better note. A Last Night Screen Actors Awards, of course,
- 30:52Speaker 1: the New Muslim Travel Band was mentioned by many, starting
- 30:54Speaker 1: at the very beginning by actor Ashton Cutcher. Fellow sag
- 30:59Speaker 1: after a member is in everyone at home and everyone
- 31:03Speaker 1: in airports that belong in my America. You are a
- 31:11Speaker 1: part of the fabric of who we are, and we
- 31:14Speaker 1: love you and we welcome you. As for the awards,
- 31:17Speaker 1: the Best Actor went to Denzel Washington admits he didn't
- 31:20Speaker 1: think you gonna get it. He said, he thought one
- 31:22Speaker 1: of the young guys were gonna get it. Best Comedy
- 31:24Speaker 1: show cast Oranges in New Black. Best Female Supporting Actress
- 31:27Speaker 1: was Viola Davis Offenses, where she honored the late playwright
- 31:30Speaker 1: August Wilson. But August did so beautifully. Is he honored
- 31:35Speaker 1: the average man who happened to be a man of color.
- 31:40Speaker 1: We deserve to be in the cannon of any in
- 31:43Speaker 1: the center of any narrative that's written out there, and
- 31:47Speaker 1: that's what August did. He elevated my father, my mother,
- 31:51Speaker 1: my uncle's who had eighth and fifth grade educations and
- 31:56Speaker 1: he just encapsulated them in history. So thank you, aug
- 32:00Speaker 1: That's right. Male supporting actor my Herschela Ali for Moonlight
- 32:04Speaker 1: and for best Cash and Emotion Picture Hidden Figures. Yes,
- 32:07Speaker 1: a Lifetime Chieven Award, by the way, given to Lily Tomlin,
- 32:09Speaker 1: which you know well deserved. Love her. Now back to
- 32:12Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Board show. You Ain't got a key, Miss
- 32:15Speaker 1: ain't lost my keys. We didn't need keys, and we
- 32:21Speaker 1: were escaping terror. We had to come north. That was
- 32:24Speaker 1: a little different. But we know we understand as black
- 32:26Speaker 1: Americans how it is to try to run away from
- 32:28Speaker 1: terror because we escaped terror in the South and saw
- 32:31Speaker 1: of us went to other countries like Canada, but we
- 32:33Speaker 1: were lucky enough we didn't have to go to an airport,
- 32:35Speaker 1: but we did have to escape, and you know how
- 32:37Speaker 1: we did that. So we understand the escape from terror
- 32:40Speaker 1: as well as other people from other countries. We understand
- 32:42Speaker 1: as Americans because we had to run from terror. Two right,
- 32:46Speaker 1: that's right, thank you. Yeah. Do we do the box office? Um,
- 32:53Speaker 1: I'll just tell you quickly, Um, I can tell you, okay,
- 32:56Speaker 1: go ahead. Tops to the box Office was split that
- 33:00Speaker 1: one with a guy with twenty one personality. That's Tommy's movie,
- 33:04Speaker 1: that his life story. Yes, but make some more money.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Hidden figures held on the third place and she's still
- 33:12Speaker 1: hanging in there. So many are going to see Hidden Figures.
- 33:14Speaker 1: I'm so proud that they care. So yes, So it's
- 33:18Speaker 1: really good. Oh and the second in the second place
- 33:20Speaker 1: was The Dog's Purpose, Yeah, which I wanted to see
- 33:23Speaker 1: because I doore dog because you're to I really do.
- 33:26Speaker 1: People I don't know, but the dogs. I just And
- 33:30Speaker 1: then La la la. And number five with the twelve
- 33:33Speaker 1: point one Resident Evil, the final chapter thirteen point nine.
- 33:36Speaker 1: That was number four. So yeah, good movie weekends. Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 1: so how was your weekend, guys? I went to Um,
- 33:44Speaker 1: mom was good. I went to the NFL Experience Houston,
- 33:48Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, they got all these activities for kids
- 33:51Speaker 1: and stuff to do lead them to the Super Bowl.
- 33:54Speaker 1: And they got this thing called Discovery on the Green,
- 33:56Speaker 1: which is outside of the big convention center where Fox
- 33:59Speaker 1: set up. Everybody is set up and getting ready for
- 34:01Speaker 1: the Super Bowls. There's a lot of funs. I took
- 34:03Speaker 1: my son out there. We had it. We had a blast. Yeah.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I saw on the news that a lot of Atlanta
- 34:07Speaker 1: Falcons arrived in Houston, and I think the Patriots they
- 34:11Speaker 1: come today, I believe. But it's on. It's getting the countdown.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Be a good game, yeah yeah, and you know Atlanta.
- 34:20Speaker 1: I think Atlanta got a shot at this. I really do.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they got a shot. They're here. That dirty
- 34:26Speaker 1: bird is something else. They score thirty points a game,
- 34:30Speaker 1: so it's gonna be a high scoring game to me. Now,
- 34:32Speaker 1: if it ain't a high scoring game, date on me.
- 34:36Speaker 1: That's my pre Let's go high, go higher, go home high.
- 34:45Speaker 1: In the words the first lady. Okay, well I'm coming

- 51:58Speaker 1: hold on tight. We got it for you, all right.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Subject hopeless romantic Dear Stephen Shirley, I need help. I
- 52:07Speaker 1: am a married woman with three kids. I've been married
- 52:10Speaker 1: twelve years. My husband is an amazing provider and father,
- 52:16Speaker 1: but we lack romance in our marriage. We don't have
- 52:19Speaker 1: any issues in the bedroom, but our marriage has no
- 52:22Speaker 1: romance at all. I am not high I am not
- 52:25Speaker 1: a high maintenance female, and I have told my husband
- 52:28Speaker 1: what I want and what I like. He just doesn't
- 52:31Speaker 1: get it. I only asked that he celebrates my birthday
- 52:35Speaker 1: each year. I could care less about the other holidays.
- 52:38Speaker 1: I have been disappointed on my past ten birthdays. I
- 52:43Speaker 1: only like one type of flower. I have shown him
- 52:46Speaker 1: the type of flower I like, and I sent him
- 52:50Speaker 1: samples over the years. We have even gone to a
- 52:53Speaker 1: florist together for me to point some flowers out, and
- 52:56Speaker 1: still I want to scream. So for my Earth Day
- 53:00Speaker 1: this year, I got flowers, but not the ones I like.
- 53:04Speaker 1: How could it be? I need romance and surprises. We
- 53:09Speaker 1: have one. We have had counseling to help him bring
- 53:12Speaker 1: the romance back. And and I don't want to give
- 53:15Speaker 1: up on us. I am starting to understand why some
- 53:18Speaker 1: guys have a side chick. I know it's not the
- 53:21Speaker 1: way to think. According to my pastor, I'm just a
- 53:25Speaker 1: hopeless romantic. What can I do? Please help? You're gonna
- 53:28Speaker 1: break up over some flowers? Really? Um, really, you have
- 53:34Speaker 1: every right, every right to feel how you feel and
- 53:36Speaker 1: to want what you want. I mean, you really do.
- 53:39Speaker 1: And since you want flowers, man, I suggest one eight
- 53:42Speaker 1: hundred flowers because they will hook you up, thank you
- 53:45Speaker 1: very much. One eight hundred flowers, smile guarantee. But I
- 53:50Speaker 1: mean I have to tell you that I think you're
- 53:53Speaker 1: doing too much. I really do. I mean, no one
- 53:55Speaker 1: wants to be nagged or or bullied or coerced or
- 54:00Speaker 1: into buying flowers. I mean it should be natural, it
- 54:02Speaker 1: should just come because he wants to do it for you. Uh,
- 54:06Speaker 1: if you want flowers, I mean, let him know, let
- 54:09Speaker 1: him know in a nice way. Okay, you've done that,
- 54:10Speaker 1: but it just doesn't seem like you've done it in
- 54:12Speaker 1: a nice way. It sounds like you're bullying him. You're
- 54:15Speaker 1: taking him all over town. I want these flowers from
- 54:18Speaker 1: this shop. I want to do this. I want come
- 54:21Speaker 1: on now, come on. Really, I don't think you should
- 54:24Speaker 1: throw it all away just because just because of marriage,
- 54:28Speaker 1: I mean just because of flowers. I don't think you
- 54:31Speaker 1: should throw your whole marriage away on this. You and
- 54:34Speaker 1: talk about you understand why some guys have a side check.
- 54:36Speaker 1: You mean you would cheat on your husband because he
- 54:38Speaker 1: doesn't buy you flowers? Really, and you're right, it's not
- 54:43Speaker 1: the way to think. And your pastor was right and
- 54:45Speaker 1: telling you that, yeah, you're hopeless romantic. And you know,
- 54:50Speaker 1: you say he's great in the bedroom, you say he's
- 54:53Speaker 1: an amazing provider and an amazing father. I mean, what
- 54:57Speaker 1: more do you want buy your own flowers at this point? Really,
- 55:02Speaker 1: you have so much. I mean, no one's perfect. I'm
- 55:04Speaker 1: sure you're not perfect either. You're not gonna get just
- 55:06Speaker 1: everything you want all the time. You know, I think
- 55:10Speaker 1: this is more on you than it's on him. You've
- 55:12Speaker 1: shown him, you've done it. He should as a husband
- 55:16Speaker 1: know that they're important to you and want to do
- 55:18Speaker 1: that for you. Of course, happy wife, happy life. But
- 55:21Speaker 1: if he doesn't, you can't make a grown person do anything.
- 55:24Speaker 1: You have to change yourself. You you're the one that's
- 55:27Speaker 1: got to make that change. And uh, I mean, I
- 55:30Speaker 1: don't know what else to tell you. You know one
- 55:33Speaker 1: flowers dot com? Tommy, what are you huffing? What kind
- 55:43Speaker 1: of damn flowers do you want? You don't need help.
- 55:48Speaker 1: You need a gardener. You need a flowers. You need

- 56:49Speaker 1: he crazy? Or the venus fly trap? They catch bugs
- 56:54Speaker 1: and stuff when they come by and close up on it.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Is that what you're what is you're looking for? You
- 56:59Speaker 1: got to go then and ask the people and tell them,

- 57:09Speaker 1: Lili Gardaniels, you name it. They all over the place.
- 57:15Speaker 1: You're gonna let one flower shut this down the whole thing.

- 57:21Speaker 1: something to put on the cast. Is that what you want?
- 57:24Speaker 1: A reef? That's a reef about it? Divorce? Nobody had
