Peter Neal played by Anthony Franciosa is a famous author of crime/mystery novels. After the release of his new hit book Tenebrae, Peter travels to Rome to promote his story through interviews and morning talk shows. However, Peter is quickly caught up in a real-life mystery involving brutal deaths linked to his book. The police (big fans of his work by the way) keep Peter in the loop as they work together to crack the case, but things quickly get out of hand as the murders stack up.
