- 0:00I'm the sheriff of Riverside County.
- 0:01And you decide I'm going to grow my hat in and run for governor
- 0:04of California. Yes, the last time leadership
- 0:06played a part in California was when Ronald Reagan was elected.
- 0:09My rise in leadership across the country was because of 2020 was
- 0:13because of nuisance mandates, because I was the first person
- 0:16in the country in a position of authority to stand up and say
- 0:19we're not going to do that here. He is expecting us to arrest
- 0:21anyone violating these orders, cite them and take their money,
- 0:24close their businesses. I'm going to eliminate state
- 0:26income tax for everyone. How are we going to pay the
- 0:28bills? The same way Tech does, the same
- 0:30way Alaska does, the same way the Dakotas do.
- 0:33Government doesn't have kids. Parents have kids and parents
- 0:35raise their. Kids, if Steve Hilton Cams and I
- 0:37say, well, what's your beef with Sheriff Bianca?
- 0:39What would he say? He is claiming that I sided with
- 0:41BLM. Do you have any regrets of how
- 0:43you handled that situation? We set the tone for the country
- 0:46to end those riots. It's often said in politics that
- 0:53the country goes the way of states like California.
- 0:56So whatever extremes are happening here politically,
- 0:58culturally, tend to show up eventually in the rest of the
- 1:01country. Well, as a native Californian
- 1:03myself, and because we film here out of California, I care deeply
- 1:07about what is happening in the state.
- 1:09And guess what? As you might know, Gavin Newsom,
- 1:12our current governor, is on his way out.
- 1:14He's likely going to be running, by the way, for president of the
- 1:16United States, maybe against JD Vance.
- 1:18We'll see and cross that bridge when we get there.
- 1:20But the race is on for the new governor in the state of
- 1:24California. And today on the show, I'm
- 1:26delighted to have the contender who is the top of the polls
- 1:29right now, believe it or not, for the California gubernatorial
- 1:32race, who is Sheriff Chad Bianco.
- 1:35Now, Sheriff Chad Bianco is a pro-life, pro family candidate
- 1:38and he has very strong opinions about many of the things that we
- 1:41care about on this show. I have also extended invitations
- 1:44to all of the other top contenders for the gubernatorial
- 1:48race. We'll see if they take me up on
- 1:49it, including Representative Eric Falwell, Katie Porter, as
- 1:53well as Steve Hilton and others. Also a huge thank you to
- 1:56everybody who's been subscribing to the show.
- 1:57Make sure that you hit that subscribe button if you're

- 2:02Also, if you're listening over on podcast app, make sure you're
- 2:04subscribed over at Spotify or at Apple.
- 2:07And please leave us a review. Those reviews help to show rise
- 2:11in the ranks and reach more people.
- 2:13Chad Bianco, welcome to the podcast.
- 2:15Thank you very much. I should say Sheriff Chad
- 2:17Bianco. They're both the same thing.
- 2:19Thank you. So glad you're here.
- 2:20Thank you for coming on the show.
- 2:21Of course, I was excited to see your name, a pro-life Republican
- 2:25from pro family Republican at the top of the polls for the
- 2:29gubernatorial race that California's going to be voting
- 2:33on our next governor. Thank God we'll no longer have
- 2:36God bless him, but Gavin Newsom. And I was like, I got to get to
- 2:39know this, this sheriff from Riverside County.
- 2:42So thanks for sitting down with me.
- 2:43Yes, you're welcome. And there have been multiple
- 2:45recent polls and you are pulling at the top.
- 2:48Yes, we've actually been at the top for the last four months.
- 2:51And I think it's, it's like 11 out of the last 13 polls we've
- 2:56been #1 and the other, the other ones I've been #2 so things are
- 3:00going very well. Message is resonating well.
- 3:02California's looking for change and I think that I, I my 32
- 3:09years of doing what I'm doing or have been doing, I think that's
- 3:12fitting exactly what they're looking for to to help rescue
- 3:16our beautiful state. Now, we're going to run through
- 3:19your positions and some of your history, but first, for people
- 3:21who don't understand California, because we're a little unique in
- 3:23how we run our governor races, when you when I say you're at
- 3:27the top of the polls, we're talking about a poll that has
- 3:30both Republicans and Democrats and anyone else on it.
- 3:33Can you give people a quick primer for how the races the
- 3:36races will happen for California, for us to decide our
- 3:39next governor? So we have what is called a
- 3:41jungle primary. So we are Democrats and
- 3:44Republicans, but we don't have a Republican primary and a
- 3:47Democrat primary. It is a jungle primary where
- 3:50everyone goes together and the top 2 vote getters in the June
- 3:55election end up in basically a runoff election in the in the
- 3:59primary election in November. So it doesn't matter if you're a
- 4:03Democrat or a Republican, your goal is to finish in the top 2.
- 4:07If you don't finish in the top 2, then obviously you, you do
- 4:11not get to go to November. And statistically it I, it's
- 4:15probably not ever going to happen.
- 4:17But statistically, it could be two Democrats going to November
- 4:21or it could be two Republicans going to November.
- 4:23That's it's a stretch, but it's certainly statistically
- 4:27possible. So when is the first vote to
- 4:29decide who goes to the final vote?
- 4:32So June 2nd, you guys are all and, and just to throw out some
- 4:34of the names that are out there, there's a bunch of Democrats
- 4:36like Katie Porter, Eric Swalwell, others we're going to
- 4:40get into. You have a Republican opponent
- 4:42that we're going to talk about in a few minutes.
- 4:44There's a, there's a lot, I think there's something like 108
- 4:48total candidates, but there's probably like 6 or 7 prominent
- 4:52Democrats and then really only two Republicans that are even
- 4:56polling at all. And it would be myself and Steve
- 5:00Hilton. And you're the top, you're at 20
- 5:02plus percent depending on the poll.
- 5:03Depend, yes. And so one other question just
- 5:07for people who are in California, not as familiar
- 5:09outside of California. So when you hit June 2nd, right,
- 5:13is, is there a sense of what number you want to be at in
- 5:16those polls to make sure you're going to be one of those top 2?
- 5:18The number really doesn't matter.
- 5:20We're extremely confident we're going to be #1 and then whoever
- 5:25survives and makes it to #2 that's what we'll worry about
- 5:29into November. Very.
- 5:30Crazy if it was 2 Republicans. It would be crazy.
- 5:33It's it's probably, it is extremely unlikely, extremely
- 5:39unlikely. But it it, it, it's, and then
- 5:42it's a completely different race.
- 5:44It's two different strategies. You can't have the same strategy
- 5:47for June that you have for November.
- 5:49June is just making sure that you're top one or two.
- 5:52And then November is all about changing California and policy
- 5:57type issues where it's a Republican conservative against
- 6:02a liberal progressive Democrat. That's really what it is.
- 6:05Yes. All right.
- 6:06So give us the background on on you, Sheriff.
- 6:09Well, I was born and raised in Utah.
- 6:13My dad was in the Air Force at the time.
- 6:15I was born at Hill Air Force Base in Utah.
- 6:17We traveled to California, Lompoc.
- 6:19I don't remember that. So that way I had a a little bit
- 6:22of a time spent living here only for about a year and then we
- 6:25moved back home. That's where my mom and dad were
- 6:27from. So I was raised there.
- 6:30I was raised in a family of three.
- 6:32My mom and dad were very young. My mom was 16 when she became
- 6:36pregnant. She turned 17 when she had me,
- 6:39but she was a senior in high school and my dad 18, and he
- 6:43went off to Vietnam. So it was my mom had, I mean she
- 6:49struggled. It was they were very young.
- 6:51She she jokes and says she doesn't even know how she didn't
- 6:54even know how she got pregnant. She didn't know.
- 6:56We, we make fun of her now, but luckily we I had good
- 7:02grandparents and they helped good great aunts that helped.
- 7:07And then my mom had she ended up having three kids before she was
- 7:1021. So all of their friends didn't
- 7:14have kids. So my mom and dad were very
- 7:16young and they didn't get to do the things that their friends
- 7:19were doing. They were parents.
- 7:20And so they, it was nice growing up with very young parents.
- 7:23I mean, I was their friend, they were our friends.
- 7:25They were, they were great parents.
- 7:27But three kids, three boys and small town thousand people in my
- 7:32town. The entire county probably had
- 7:351518 thousand. So it was, it was small, very
- 7:38rural mining town in Utah and I grew up very athletic.
- 7:43I was into everything. I eventually left the town
- 7:48because of athletics. I would ended up getting a
- 7:50college scholarship to play baseball and ended up in Salt
- 7:54Lake City at the University of Utah and then after that moved
- 7:57to California. Baseball is what gave me my love
- 7:59for California. I came here to play in the
- 8:02Little League World Series in I was 11, and I just fell in love
- 8:06with it. Everything we were in Santa
- 8:07Monica, everything about Santa Monica, I was absolutely in love
- 8:10with. And I told my mom and dad when I
- 8:13came home, I'm moving to California.
- 8:15And she made me promise to do it when I was an adult.
- 8:17So I did 22, finished school and moved to California.
- 8:22I met my wife, I mean, raised a beautiful family.
- 8:26We're very happy, very successful.
- 8:28I found law enforcement. I got into this profession and
- 8:32it suited me very, very well. It's I'm definitely a a believer
- 8:38in God. As I progressed through life, I
- 8:42realized that we're supposed to be doing everything we can to,
- 8:46to do the things that we want and achieve the things that we
- 8:49want. But sometimes that's not what
- 8:52God wants us to do or where we're supposed to be.
- 8:55And you know, selfishly, I was supposed to be a Major League
- 8:58Baseball player and all of that stuff, but that isn't where God
- 9:03had me. I had no interest in law
- 9:05enforcement. I don't even really, I remember
- 9:08one of my friends was in the Academy and it's like, oh, that
- 9:10sounds kind of cool. And you know, that was, it's a
- 9:12good career and paid more than what I was making at the time
- 9:15and good benefits. So I put myself through a
- 9:17sheriff's Academy and from day one it was like, Oh my gosh,
- 9:22this is amazing. And I've had a fantastic career.
- 9:26Very happy that I got into it and it's very rewarding and it's
- 9:31for me how I was raised. I was raised by a very I don't
- 9:37want to say he was strict, but he was, he was.
- 9:43He made us grow up to be responsible kids.
- 9:46We had to. We didn't throw.
- 9:47Trash on the side of the road. No, no, we were, you know, we,
- 9:52they taught us responsibility and they taught us respect.
- 9:55And you know, I, I like saying I had probably 100 dads because I
- 10:01grew up in a very small mining town, very ethnic, different
- 10:06ethnic origins. Everyone came in the early 1900s
- 10:09to work in the coal mines. And they, the, the values were
- 10:13just very different. And it didn't matter if my dad
- 10:16was there, someone else saw me. I was disciplined by someone
- 10:19else. And so I grew up with
- 10:21responsibility. I grew up caring about other
- 10:23people. There were many times where we
- 10:26would have to sacrifice things that we wanted to do or vacation
- 10:29or something like that because my dad was helping someone and
- 10:32we had to go help them. You know, I had to do labor, you
- 10:36know, help someone pour concrete or build a wall or something.
- 10:40We were just always helping people and that was, that was
- 10:43really the community that I grew up in.
- 10:44So that formed, I think perfectly for me to be in law
- 10:48enforcement because that's really our job every single day
- 10:52is helping other people in an emergency situation.
- 10:55And I really as an adult now looking back, it's that's where
- 10:59I get my joy. I, I, that's it.
- 11:02I mean, I don't, there's nothing else that entices me.
- 11:05I don't bothers my wife a little bit.
- 11:07She wishes I cared about money a little bit more than I do, but
- 11:10as long as we pay the bills we're good.
- 11:12I I being a millionaire wouldn't impress me.
- 11:14I'd I'd like to win the lottery but I don't really want to.
- 11:17It's just more problems and it is long as I can help someone in
- 11:22either a high 5 or a handshake or that even a look.
- 11:26You can tell when you help people in my line of work they
- 11:28don't even have to say thank you.
- 11:29You can tell by the look on their face and that makes me
- 11:32want to keep coming back and doing it over and over.
- 11:35So I we raised our kids here, we have 4 kids, we have 5 grandkids
- 11:40now and we are extremely happy in our lives.
- 11:44Which brings me to this election.
- 11:47Yes, why? Why did you decide to and were
- 11:50were you retired at this point as sheriff?
- 11:52You're still? Practicing the sheriff.
- 11:54Sheriff of Riverside County. I'm the sheriff of Riverside
- 11:56County and you? Decide I'm going to throw my hat
- 11:59in and run for Governor of California.
- 12:01Yes. And I and along those lines, I
- 12:04never said I never had that feeling of I want to be
- 12:08governor. I came to the realization that I
- 12:11have to be governor if California is going to change,
- 12:15we have to have something drastically different than what
- 12:18we have and that what is coming next.
- 12:21I watched the people that were lining up to run for election on
- 12:25the Democrat side. You could tell who was coming on
- 12:28the Republican side and being a part of government that I am.
- 12:33I'm the highest elected official in Riverside County, two and a
- 12:36half million people. So you elect sheriff in
- 12:38Riverside County? You were elected.
- 12:39So you say 2 million people elected you to be the top law
- 12:43enforcement guy in Riverside County?
- 12:45I was elected in 2018, re elected in 2022 and now my
- 12:49election my next election is 2028.
- 12:52So for this election, I am running as the current Sheriff
- 12:55of Riverside County. We're the second largest
- 12:57Sheriff's Department in the state, 4th largest in the

- 14:40for people under understand what it means to be the sheriff
- 14:42should be the top elected member of government for Riverside
- 14:47County. You're the sheriff, you're in
- 14:48charge of keeping 2 million people safe.
- 14:50How do you do that? It's a massive operation and in
- 14:54the end it it's, it sounds. I would let everybody else tell
- 14:58you how you do it and then they would point to me and say that's
- 15:01how you do it. So it sounds funny coming from
- 15:03me. And I don't like bragging about
- 15:04myself or saying that it's. You're here to brag.
- 15:06I want you to tell us why we should vote.
- 15:09It's. Complete leadership.
- 15:10The only reason we are successful is because how I was
- 15:15raised, what brought me to where I am today, the 32 years that I
- 15:19how I operated in a law enforcement career.
- 15:22It's leadership, it's integrity, it's honesty, it's leadership,
- 15:25it's doing things for other people instead of yourself.
- 15:28And I've emerged as a nationwide leader of law enforcement,
- 15:34especially in this state. And that is why we're
- 15:37successful. It's I didn't come into a
- 15:40massive organization of 45144 hundred employees.
- 15:44And I do all the work. It's, it's the vision that I
- 15:48create. It's the direction that I
- 15:50promote. It's the people that I put in
- 15:52place to manage that direction. And it's making sure that what I
- 15:58believe and what I want, what the voters voted for, that our
- 16:02organization is, is living up to that.
- 16:04It is following through with that.
- 16:07And that is pure leadership. And for me in this state, that
- 16:12is what we completely missing, completely missing.
- 16:17We vote for bright shiny objects.
- 16:19We vote for millionaires, billionaires, somebody with a
- 16:24shiny name or somebody with a flashy attitude.
- 16:27And we don't care about their integrity.
- 16:29We don't care about their ethics and their morals and their
- 16:32values. We don't even pay attention to
- 16:35it. And certainly not leadership
- 16:37ability. And we're putting the person in
- 16:39the very top position in our state, the the person that
- 16:42controls the agenda of our government and our state.
- 16:46And we have no idea whether or not they can even lead people.
- 16:49And that's why we failed. That's why we failed.
- 16:52I talk all the time about about this, about leadership.
- 16:55And truly in our government in California, the last time
- 17:00leadership ever played a part in California was when Ronald
- 17:03Reagan was elected. Ronald Reagan was elected
- 17:07because he was recruited for that position because of his
- 17:10leadership ability in the movie industry and in the Hollywood
- 17:15arena. That's where that was his
- 17:16livelihood. And he was a well known, well
- 17:19respected leader with conservative values that was
- 17:22recruited to run for governor and he won.
- 17:24And it, I mean it, it was a, it was a godsend to California.
- 17:28It was a godsend to our country. But that was the last time.
- 17:31And ironically, it was 58 years ago that he was elected to the
- 17:37office. I know that because it was the
- 17:38year I was born. So it's been a long time.
- 17:41And that was, I think that's the appeal that I have why I'm
- 17:46leading in all of these polls. It isn't because anything
- 17:48special that Chad Bianco has to offer or share of Chad Bianco.
- 17:52It's the leadership ability, it's the proven leadership.
- 17:55It's how I carry myself. It's I'm no better than anyone
- 17:58else. I'm just in a different
- 17:59position, one that I can affect people's lives and I choose to
- 18:03do it in a productive manner rather than to benefit myself or
- 18:07for some other selfish reason. And that's really what we're
- 18:10missing in California government.
- 18:12We really are. I mean, immediately it's
- 18:14flashing in my mind as Gavin Newsom during Covad and he's
- 18:18like shutting down everyone's grandmothers funeral and, you
- 18:22know, shutting down at the churches and everything else.
- 18:24And then he's at the what's the name of the restaurant?
- 18:27French Laundry, The French Laundry with a group of people
- 18:30unmasked hanging out, dining on like, like, whatever.
- 18:34He's dining on souffle. I don't know.
- 18:35Yeah, I know. And then it's like oopsie.
- 18:37And everyone just like, OK, whatever.
- 18:39And it's like, this is like, this is emblematic of the
- 18:43leadership, I would argue of Gavin Newsom is like rules for
- 18:46thee but not for me and just enriching himself constantly.
- 18:49I mean, he's become so successful financially.
- 18:52And again, not that you can't become successful financially,
- 18:54that's not inherently wrong. But you look at how he
- 18:57personally operates and you look at how you know the the problems
- 18:59that have plagued California. From everyone else.
- 19:02And just like this is and then of course, his social policy.
- 19:05I mean, you know, he just did this, you know, song and dance
- 19:08press conference with his wife. Sorry, I've got a rant for one
- 19:10minute because it's one of the reasons I'm excited about your
- 19:12candidacy. But you know, just the extremism
- 19:16of Gavin Newsom. He has this song and dance press
- 19:17conference in the last couple weeks.
- 19:19And I know you're not running against Gavin Newsom, but you're
- 19:21running against Gavin Newsom wannabes really am Katie Porter,
- 19:24Eric Sawwell. These are like Gavin Newsom is
- 19:27like, is the extreme enough for us?
- 19:28Like we're going to one up him. And that's what's happening,
- 19:31that's they're doubling down on horrific policies that he has
- 19:36implemented and that he has even followed that he came, I mean,
- 19:40he followed some horrible ones, but then he's implemented the
- 19:43same of his own, some of his own, and then continued with the
- 19:46same. And the current ones coming
- 19:47after are doing the same thing. They're they're hailing him as a
- 19:50hero and then saying that they're even going to double
- 19:53down and do it bigger, more taxes, more cap and trade, more
- 19:57of the extremism that that's being forced on us.
- 20:00So I really am running against Gavin Newsom.
- 20:04Yes, I mean, the press conference recently, his wife
- 20:06was there too. And they're they're like
- 20:09laughing and gleefully about how they're going to give hundreds
- 20:11of millions of dollars to pay for abortions.
- 20:14And even the press there were not impressed.
- 20:17Even the liberal press are like, oh, gosh, like, guys, this is a
- 20:19loser for us. Like California's like in this
- 20:22huge deficit. And you're like spending money
- 20:23on abortions, like, that's going to save the day.
- 20:26And this like Mrs. Gavin Newsom gets up there and she's like,
- 20:29why aren't you guys more supporting us basically, and
- 20:32against the war on women? I'm like, guys, that is so.
- 20:35I don't know, 2015. I don't know what year that was
- 20:38that slogan, but it doesn't work anymore.
- 20:40Yeah. Like people.
- 20:41Yeah. It's just like it's.
- 20:42Tone deaf. 20 doesn't needs, isn't more abortions.
- 20:47And what destroyed California was not abortions.
- 20:49I mean, it's horrific, but that it didn't destroy California.
- 20:53Your policies destroyed California.
- 20:55And we're tired of your policies.
- 20:57And so when we ask you about your policies, we want to know
- 21:01why you're destroying California and what you're going to do to
- 21:03stop it before you leave. And the answer is nothing.
- 21:06They just get mad. Except fund abortions like as.
- 21:08Like, yeah, we're going to drop $100 million.
- 21:10It's crazy. For more free abortions.
- 21:12So I've got to ask you another question about your work as the
- 21:16sheriff of Riverside County. What did success look like for
- 21:19you? I know you mentioned leadership,
- 21:21obviously is your job. That's how you see it.
- 21:23You're there to serve. But in terms of how you made
- 21:26life better for the people, the residents of Riverside County,
- 21:31what did that look like for you as sheriff?
- 21:34Yeah. So it's it's kind of like a
- 21:37almost like an 8 year, seven-year.
- 21:39I'm in my 8th year now and it's almost a looking back, it's it's
- 21:44the difference in public safety in Riverside County in 2018
- 21:49compared to 2026. And it's night and day.
- 21:53And that part about Gavin Newsom and, and my popularity and my,
- 21:59my rise in leadership across the country was because of 2020 was
- 22:04because of nuisance mandates, because I was the first person
- 22:06in the country in a position of authority to stand up and say
- 22:11absolute ridiculous. And we're not going to do that
- 22:13here. What?
- 22:14What? Where is it that you were saying
- 22:15we're not going to do in Riverside County?
- 22:16We did not arrest anyone for not wearing a mask.
- 22:19We did not arrest anyone for not wearing a mask.
- 22:21We did not arrest anyone for not closing their business.
- 22:22If you went, if we did not arrest you for going to a
- 22:24restaurant, we did not arrest you for going to churches.
- 22:27And those were all the things that they were telling us they
- 22:29wanted done with all of the mandates.
- 22:31And you just said I'm. Not I'm not doing it.
- 22:33Yeah, this is my county. I won't do it right now.
- 22:36Are you allowed to do that? By the way?
- 22:37What's the law? The governor has the mandate and
- 22:40you're like, no, I don't want to do it that way.
- 22:41Yes. So the interesting part about
- 22:43that is, and I used to say it, it's like these are
- 22:45unconstitutional rules. They were not laws.
- 22:48They were never laws. Had they gone to the legislature
- 22:52and said we are going to pass these laws that that you as a
- 22:56resident can have to wear a mask or you can't go to church or you
- 22:59can't open your business, you can't shop in stores that we
- 23:02didn't tell you were good enough to shop in.
- 23:04If they would have made it a law, that would have been much
- 23:06more difficult for me. I could still have said no,
- 23:09we're not going to do it, but I would be technically violating
- 23:13that law by not enforcing it. And there's unfortunately, you
- 23:17can be removed from office if you do that, if you violate a
- 23:20law even. If you're if you're mounting A
- 23:22constitutional challenge that has to play out in the court
- 23:24system, you still have to in in the interim, abide by the law of
- 23:27your position. I would have probably been
- 23:29removed from office. We would have sued, but we would
- 23:31have won. We would have eventually won on
- 23:33constitutional grounds. But these orders in particular
- 23:37in 2020 were just Newsome's orders.
- 23:41It was just a political agenda, seeing how much they could get
- 23:44away with and imposing them upon us.
- 23:47And as the sheriff, I, I said no.
- 23:49So in California we have a lot of discretion as law enforcement
- 23:52officers, particularly from misdemeanor down as a felony.
- 23:56We really don't. I can't.
- 23:57If I know you have a felony warrant, I have to arrest you.
- 24:00If you commit a felony and I know you committed that felony,
- 24:04I have to arrest you. But misdemeanors is a
- 24:07discretion. Misdemeanors are a tool where I
- 24:09could, you know, if, if you, I mean, I don't know what driving
- 24:11without a license, that's a misdemeanor technically.
- 24:14And I can tell you, look, This is why you need to get a
- 24:16license. I'm going to let you go this
- 24:17time, but you need to go get a driver's license And it's a,
- 24:21it's a warning basically, but to get you to hopefully go do the
- 24:25right thing. So I do have a lot of
- 24:27discretion, but in this particular case it was twofold.
- 24:30I knew it wasn't a law. It was an order, which
- 24:33technically I have to abide by orders because there's another
- 24:35law that says that. But these were completely
- 24:37unconstitutional orders. And I gave a speech in front of
- 24:40the Board of Supervisors with the day that I knew they were
- 24:42going to follow the governor's orders.
- 24:45And I said, it's not going to happen here.
- 24:47We are not. I'm not taking away resources,
- 24:50law enforcement resources from keeping us safe from rapists,
- 24:54robbers, burglars, drug dealers, thieves, all of those things and
- 24:59make a criminal out of a single mom who's trying to put a roof
- 25:05over the head of her children. And I said it's never going to
- 25:07happen. I it's not happening here.
- 25:10And when I did that, that I shot onto the national stage because
- 25:15nobody had done that. No one was standing up for what
- 25:17we all felt was common sense and Riverside County benefited from
- 25:22that immensely. Immensely.
- 25:25We brought businesses to Riverside County that were being
- 25:27forced closed in other places. We bought residents that wanted
- 25:31to go to restaurants or church. They moved to Riverside County
- 25:34to do that. Employees.
- 25:37We had vaccine mandates where people were getting fired.
- 25:39Any anyone in law enforcement that got fired for not taking a
- 25:42vaccine, I hired them. If they applied for us, we hired
- 25:45them. We we made it to where the
- 25:49politics and the agenda we're taking out of it and we're just
- 25:52common sense legal law, constitution, all of those
- 25:56things. And that's what I mean, it
- 25:59skyrocketed me on the national stage.
- 26:01So that was for the beginning of me.
- 26:03That was the change in Riverside County and that was the change
- 26:06in our agency of what my goal was for us is by the time I
- 26:11left, I wanted to be the best law enforcement agency in the
- 26:14country. If you talk about like me
- 26:16growing up, law enforcement was LAPD or NYPDI mean those were
- 26:22oh, let's see what LA is doing. Let's see what New York is
- 26:24doing. And that's that was the epitome
- 26:26of law enforcement And I wanted to be Riverside sheriff and we
- 26:31took I took a almost failing organization.
- 26:34Morale was horrible. We were we were so short on
- 26:38employees not operating how we should.
- 26:41Public safety was a disaster in California.
- 26:42We weren't fighting crime. We weren't addressing issues.
- 26:45I changed the way we operated. We went to a instead of fighting
- 26:48crime, we attacked quality of life issues.
- 26:52So whatever your quality of life is, that's my main priority.
- 26:56So I have two and a half million quality of life issues that we
- 27:00address in Riverside County because that's what that's what
- 27:02concerns you. And if you're going to call us,
- 27:05we are going to make sure that that is our top priority is
- 27:08making sure that your life and whatever is affecting you is
- 27:11being made easier when we leave. And it was successful.
- 27:15And so now I am one of the most respected law enforcement
- 27:19agencies in the country. We, we are looked at to see how
- 27:22we're doing things right and to see that, you know, what
- 27:25mistakes we made and how did we fix them.
- 27:27And I, I'm sending deputies all across the country to, to train
- 27:31other people on what we're doing.
- 27:34One of the things that I'm just super, super proud of just
- 27:36because of other things in, in my career that I did is crimes
- 27:39against children there as a dad, as a man, as an as an adult, I
- 27:45as a cop, we have to protect kids.
- 27:48Kids can't protect themselves. Adults sometimes can protect
- 27:51themselves, but truly kids cannot.
- 27:53And when adults are going to victimize them or when adults
- 27:56need protection, if their parents aren't going to do it,
- 27:58then the cops have to and I have to make sure that they're safe.
- 28:01So we've, we've had a massive shift toward protecting our kids
- 28:06from human trafficking, from sex trafficking, molestation, abuse,
- 28:11all of those things. And we train other people in the
- 28:14country on what we're doing right and how successful we are.
- 28:17So that's really that success for me, it's not personal
- 28:21success. It was my life as a law
- 28:25enforcement officer, my, my identity as a lawman.
- 28:29I wanted the agency that I work for to be the best.
- 28:32And we, we truly are. I mean, we're not done, we're
- 28:35not perfect. There's a lot of things that we
- 28:38can always strive to be the best.
- 28:40And if you strive to be the best, you'll probably are the
- 28:43best because there's not too many people that are striving
- 28:46every single day to be better than they were yesterday.
- 28:48And that's what I want the mission of our agency to be.
- 28:51And it's. It seems to be working well.
- 28:54So I would love to explore just for a minute what this has
- 28:56looked like in Riverside County. Let's talk about the kids for a
- 28:58minute. You know, cops, our job is to
- 29:00protect kids. We protect kids.
- 29:01And you mentioned abuse, molestation.
- 29:04There's obviously trafficking, which is horrible when you show
- 29:07up, you know, 2018, right? And this is your new job.
- 29:11You got eight years, you got to like, fix, fix this.
- 29:13As you said, it was failing in many ways.
- 29:15What did it look like? What did your policies look
- 29:17like, your changes look like? And you're not just talking
- 29:19about who are we going to arrest?
- 29:20You were looking at the causal, you know, the, what are the, the
- 29:23factors that are causing this? And how can we use our agency
- 29:26and, and work with the rest of the city to solve or the county
- 29:28to solve these issues? What did it look like to make
- 29:31Riverside County safer for kids in the last, you know, going on
- 29:3488 years? It it's really enforcement.
- 29:37It was, there are, there are laws on the books that were not
- 29:39being enforced that we, we have a 0 tolerance for.
- 29:43And that's the, that's, we have a, we have a policy of a
- 29:47relentless pursuit of criminals. If you're going to victimize
- 29:51anyone in Riverside County, particularly a child, we are
- 29:54going to find you, we are going to hold you accountable and we
- 29:57are going to save or rescue that child from that abuse.
- 30:01So I doubled the size of our human trafficking team.
- 30:04We, we put way more money than had ever been utilized in that
- 30:10arena toward technology to help them identify suspects, identify
- 30:15victims, rescue victims. And it was, it really was just a
- 30:19mindset change. It was my agenda was letting
- 30:22deputies know that this is your goal, go out and do it.
- 30:28And if you can't do it, then let us know as an administration
- 30:31what we need to provide you to make sure you have the tools to
- 30:33do it. So it was training, it was
- 30:35resources, it was money, it was equipment, it was adding more
- 30:38personnel to to those arenas, to those task forces, partnering
- 30:43with other task forces. So we as a force multiplier, so
- 30:46we make sure that we do that And, and I really, I started, I
- 30:50started that arena for Riverside County in 2005.
- 30:54I, I was responsible for a sting operation that we did to
- 30:59basically arrest people who were attempting to, or were molesting
- 31:04kids using online access to get to, to gain contact with them.
- 31:10And we, we cooperated, I guess you could say with Dateline, NBC
- 31:16Dateline, we brought Dateline in and they recorded a three day
- 31:19operation where we arrested 51 people for traveling all over
- 31:24Southern California, one from another state.
- 31:26And they were coming to molest a 12 or 13 year old boy or girl.
- 31:30And we arrested them and it was shown to the shown to the
- 31:32country. I remember those.
- 31:34I didn't realize that was you behind that, and that was before
- 31:37becoming sheriff. Yes, I was a supervisor.
- 31:39I was a Sergeant in our department and of a detective
- 31:42Bureau that we saw this issue was happening and we wanted to
- 31:46do something big to try and stop it.
- 31:49And it eventually became NBC's number one.
- 31:52It it still is NBC's number one rated series or or program the
- 31:59dateline to Catch a predator and.
- 32:02That's amazing. When I did that, after we did it
- 32:05and it aired when we we late, we knew how big it was and we knew
- 32:09that it was it was bigger than what we thought.
- 32:12And so we laid the groundwork up until the time that it aired.
- 32:15And then right after it aired was a board meeting that the now
- 32:20the administrator back at the time went to the board and said
- 32:23we have a massive issue that we just showed and we need
- 32:25resources. And they formed 2 task forces.
- 32:28They formed the safe task force and a spider task force.
- 32:31And it was basically a it was to protect kids and it was an
- 32:35online, it was two things together.
- 32:37The sheriff before me stopped it, new sheriff, he ended it.
- 32:42I took over. We redid it.
- 32:44The DA at the time was running a lot with it.
- 32:47He was, he was trying to do what he could and we just gave more
- 32:50resources to him. We've combined them now into one
- 32:53program that actually the DA runs.
- 32:57The umbrella is under the DA's office now and we just provide
- 33:00more resources and more investigators to make sure that
- 33:03we do that. But super proud of that, super
- 33:06proud of that, what we did for the country.
- 33:08I helped hundreds of other agencies across the country do
- 33:12the same type of operation. I even helped Scotland Yard do
- 33:16one in London. I wish they would have sent me
- 33:18over there. I did it all by phone, but it
- 33:20was, it was fun. It was very rewarding because it
- 33:23we knew at the time that it was such a massive problem.

- 35:14off your order. What I think a lot of people may
- 35:17not realize is there's a lot of discretion, right, for law
- 35:20enforcement in terms of resource allocation, what to focus on in
- 35:23terms of investigating crimes and prosecuting crimes.
- 35:26And that's where if you're not focused on the things that
- 35:29matter or you're not allocating enough to the the the least of
- 35:31these, the victims, children in this case, then there might not
- 35:34be justice for them because of the bureau's distracted or
- 35:37working on other things. And I think that child first
- 35:40mentality is so key. Have you seen more arrests made
- 35:44under your leadership of child predators or like what does that
- 35:47look like in terms of the outcomes for arrests or for
- 35:50prosecutions or convictions or, you know, anything in the area?
- 35:53Yeah. I think statistically in the
- 35:56beginning there were a lot more arrests, but then that tapers
- 35:59down if you're doing, if you're doing.
- 36:01A safer community. They don't want to and they also
- 36:03don't want to come here. It's like they don't want to be
- 36:05a a pedo in Riverside County. That's.
- 36:08Exactly right. I mean, it's it and it's very
- 36:10well known. It's very well known in the
- 36:12online community. We we are still we still have
- 36:15investigators in those in those chat rooms, in those, I mean
- 36:19even Snapchat, I mean it, it is so easy to to get access to our
- 36:23kids. So we have the Intel, so we have
- 36:27the the resources that are put into those things to make sure
- 36:30that we're monitoring to find victims, to find, you know,
- 36:33human trafficking systems and the people responsible for them.
- 36:38And we go, then we go attack them and we go, we go find out.
- 36:41But in those systems, we also know that they talk about
- 36:45Riverside County, they, they don't want to go to Riverside
- 36:48County or they're aware that law enforcement is very active in
- 36:53undercover operations and, and, and finding out who they are.
- 36:58So we know that we've lowered it And it's, it's unfortunately,
- 37:01it's one of those things where it's like, well, people that my,
- 37:04my detractors will say, well, prove to me that you lowered it.
- 37:08It's like, well, I can't prove something that didn't happen.
- 37:11It's like it's it's impossible to take all the resources away
- 37:15and then wonder what it would have looked like now.
- 37:18Has it gone up in other counties?
- 37:20I know that you know child like the the proliferation of child
- 37:23sexual assault material as an example, C Sam has gone up.
- 37:26It's actually in. The last decade like an
- 37:28incredibly credible amount, which is terrifying.
- 37:30Yeah, not across all jurisdictions, but it certainly
- 37:34has in some. And we know that criminal
- 37:37behavior and criminal activity goes where it's easy.
- 37:40If there's the threat of getting caught, if there's a chance of
- 37:42getting caught, you don't, criminals will avoid it.
- 37:46Criminals will stay away. So it's there, there are so many
- 37:49different aspects of crime and how to identify them and how to,
- 37:54how to not only chase the reporting, but then follow up
- 37:58with the with the arrests and everything else.
- 38:00It's, it's hard to statistically come up with something that you
- 38:03can say, oh, look how great we did.
- 38:05It's because the I'm not a fan of of statistics because I can
- 38:11twist the statistics to mean something for me.
- 38:14But if you don't believe me, or if or if you think differently
- 38:18than me, you can use those same numbers and twist them into
- 38:21something different. And yours.
- 38:23Yours are not necessarily untrue, but neither are mine.
- 38:26They both say something different, but we use it for our
- 38:29own benefit. So that's why statistics.
- 38:31Aren't How would you measure if not statistics?
- 38:33If not like people. Feel.
- 38:34How people feel. So, and I'll give you an
- 38:37example, do you feel like California is safer today than
- 38:39it was 10 years ago? No.
- 38:42No one does but the statistics that the governor is going to
- 38:46promote. This is the gaslighting of San
- 38:48Francisco. They say statistically San
- 38:50Francisco is safer, but then people don't feel safe in San
- 38:53Francisco. And they say, well, my friend
- 38:54just got mugged and that wasn't happening 10 years ago, right?
- 38:57But you you're telling me I'm safer?
- 38:58Yeah, so and they they're twisting the statistics and then
- 39:01in California they've changed the laws to where crimes aren't
- 39:04crimes anymore. So if 50 before 2014 when we
- 39:09legalized almost everything in California made everything
- 39:12change from a felony to a misdemeanor, we don't report
- 39:14those anymore. They're no longer.
- 39:16Theft is no longer reported as a theft because it's less than
- 39:19$950. So it's petty theft, which now
- 39:24doesn't get reported the same way.
- 39:25So the statistics for theft show drastic decrease in crime.
- 39:30Overall crime is down. Well, that's because people
- 39:32don't report it anymore. It's not a crime.
- 39:34So you're twisting what is, what the numbers even show for your
- 39:39benefit. But yet we know in California, I
- 39:41know my deputies right now are far more busier than I was when
- 39:45I was a deputy. I I feel sorry for them
- 39:47sometimes. The amount of calls that they
- 39:49are going to, the types of calls that they're going to, it's far
- 39:53worse than when I was a deputy. 30 years ago.
- 39:55Why do you think that is? Because crime is getting worse.
- 39:58But why? Why?
- 39:59There's because crime in California is enabled.
- 40:03We are enabling criminal behavior.
- 40:05There is no consequence. We have a judicial that we had
- 40:08since 2012, we had criminal justice reform.
- 40:13That's what California was pushed on all of us.
- 40:15And when I tell you that we need to reform something, you're
- 40:18going to agree with me because you know what the word reform
- 40:20means something is broken and we're going to make it better.
- 40:23So if I say, hey, we need to reform the criminal justice
- 40:25system, of course you're going to say yes, we do.
- 40:28But the reality of California criminal justice reform was a
- 40:32love affair with criminals. They don't care.
- 40:35The lawmakers that have passed all these horrific laws don't
- 40:37care about the victims. They don't care about law
- 40:40abiding Californians. They care about suspects that
- 40:44they label as victims of society because we made them commit
- 40:48crimes. We made them do something wrong
- 40:50because we didn't take care of them socially.
- 40:53So there's no personal responsibility for bad behavior.
- 40:58So you're enabling more and more criminal activity, and that's
- 41:01what we see as cops. So in Riverside County, do you
- 41:03guys make more more arrests than like say, LAPD?
- 41:07I think we did at one point, but then again it our crime isn't.
- 41:12Safer so crime is less. Is crime better in Riverside?
- 41:15There's less crime in Riverside County now than there was in
- 41:182018. I'm going to say yes.
- 41:20So crime all across the country went up.
- 41:24Ours in Riverside County didn't go up as much as everybody
- 41:27else's did. But crime is obviously going up
- 41:30just because of the environment that California is.
- 41:32In culture. Absolutely yes, and you can't
- 41:35help that you but. You're saying you're not, your
- 41:37crime isn't as high as other counties, right?
- 41:39And you're in it. And if it's gone up, it's gone
- 41:41up slower than other counties. It's gone up.
- 41:43And we use the metric of what do, What do California residents
- 41:47feel? What do Riverside County
- 41:48residents feel? And overall, my residents feel
- 41:53like their deputies are doing a fantastic job.
- 41:55They feel safe, they feel like they're being protected.
- 41:58They feel like we are doing everything we can to fight
- 42:01violent crime and crime in general.
- 42:03I do think the posture of, of the, the relationship between
- 42:06the average person and the, and the cops like do are the cops
- 42:09decent? Are the cops going to show up
- 42:10when we need them? Are the cops, do they, are they
- 42:13caring about the things that I care about and, and focus on the
- 42:16things I, I want them to focus on.
- 42:18That does go a long way for the feelings of safety of people.
- 42:21I do think there is probably a disconnect between objective,
- 42:24you know, objective standards of safety.
- 42:25But to your point, it's very convoluted today.
- 42:27It is, you know, San Francisco's that case in point.
- 42:30You know how Stanford's sister just talked about, oh, the crime
- 42:32has gone down. Like, no, it hasn't, right.
- 42:35OK, what about so there's crime? That's one bucket.
- 42:38But as sheriff, you were doing more than addressing crime in
- 42:42terms of arresting people. Your.
- 42:45Quality of life. Yeah, so tell me what that looks
- 42:47like as sheriff to be helping improve people's quality of life
- 42:50in Riverside. County quality of life doesn't
- 42:52necessarily have to be a crime. It could be a a problem in your
- 42:56neighborhood, anything, a bad neighbor a a horrific neighbor
- 43:00that really isn't breaking the law, but he is terrorizing the
- 43:03neighborhood. We will address that.
- 43:05We will address it with a person.
- 43:07We'll do everything we can legally through the criminal
- 43:09justice system, but also just going out and kind of hope
- 43:14hopefully educating the neighbor.
- 43:16It's like, look, you're destroying your entire
- 43:18neighborhood because of your attitude and we just all want
- 43:21you getting along. Quit, stop.
- 43:22We have to stop them from calling us on you.
- 43:24But it's your behavior that's causing it.
- 43:27And I mean, that's a, that's an off the wall, you know, way to
- 43:31describe it. But it could be any quality of
- 43:33life. It could be.
- 43:35Pit bulls on the loose? Absolutely.
- 43:37We could. Be in our neighborhood not long
- 43:39ago, yeah, there was just a pit bull.
- 43:41And I said, what's going like, what is this?
- 43:43You know, like, yeah. So that's a, that's a, that's a
- 43:45whole nother animal to open up it with animals in California,
- 43:49because we have in from a law enforcement perspective, when we
- 43:53have animal issues, that's animal controls responsibility.
- 43:57And I'm not a fan of animal control.
- 44:00I don't, I wish they fell under law enforcement.
- 44:02They fell under that. Would make sense to me.
- 44:05It makes sense to me, but they won't put it under me and
- 44:08because. The point of animal control is
- 44:10the safety of people, right? And yeah, you treat the animals
- 44:13with dignity. You treat the animals with
- 44:15dignity. But the number one?
- 44:16The animals and everything. Else that's true, but the number
- 44:18one priority in the end will be human safety.
- 44:20Yeah, and there's no enforcement.
- 44:22We have rules and we have laws, but there's no enforcement.
- 44:25It's everything is social and everything is we don't want to
- 44:28offend anybody and we don't want to make anybody mad.
- 44:30And it's like, well, it's past that point and we need to take
- 44:34action. And so the state is broken in.
- 44:38It's in, it's in the way it protects animals or protects
- 44:42people from animals or animals from people.
- 44:44And I mean, that's a whole nother Side Story of of what
- 44:47we'll have to deal with. When you, when you said, when
- 44:49you said the two and a half million, I might have misheard
- 44:51you when you said I think it was two and a half million.
- 44:53There's two and a half million residents in Riverside.
- 44:55Residents. So when you said the 2 1/2
- 44:57millions concerns about safety, you're part of what you've
- 45:01prepared your department to do is receive concerns and be able
- 45:04to address them in a more personalized way, even if it
- 45:06doesn't have to do with outright law breaking.
- 45:08Absolutely. So it's like that neighbor who's
- 45:10just seems threatening or like not being neighborly, Can you go
- 45:13chat with him? I mean, what?
- 45:15Yeah. What does it look like
- 45:16practically? What do you have your guys do?
- 45:17We respond to everything. There are law enforcement
- 45:20agencies across the state and across the country that no
- 45:23longer respond to certain crimes.
- 45:25We respond to everything. Yeah, we respond to everything,
- 45:27and we prioritize it. I mean, there are some people
- 45:29that are angry that it took us 4 hours or six hours to get to
- 45:33their call, but we have to prioritize them, too because
- 45:36we're answering everything and we're limited in how many people
- 45:40are actually working in the day in order to get to that call.
- 45:44We have to prioritize them. A crime against a person that's
- 45:46happening right now is obviously a bigger priority than I had an
- 45:50argument with my neighbor because he cut my tree.
- 45:53So those we have to prioritize, but we're going to respond to
- 45:57everything and we're going to do everything we can.
- 45:59The deputies know that you respond to every call and you,
- 46:03it is your job to resolve that issue before you leave.
- 46:07And we do everything we possibly can to try and make that happen,
- 46:10whether it's, and sometimes it doesn't have to be arrest
- 46:12someone, if it has to be arrest somebody, then then that's what
- 46:17has to happen. But if a peaceful resolution can
- 46:20come because of the actions that the deputies taking, then that
- 46:24emergency in your life is now handled.
- 46:27And that's really what a 911 call is.
- 46:29It is your emergency, the most important thing in your life at
- 46:32the time. And we are coming out there to
- 46:34handle it for you. Is your goal to you're helping
- 46:37to solve the emergency, but how do you focus on fostering more
- 46:40Community Trust, right? Because the ideal is people are
- 46:43not calling 911 on their neighbors, right?
- 46:45Yeah. So that's the the feeling that
- 46:48people know that the deputies are responding and handling that
- 46:51situation. There's there was when I was
- 46:54before I ran for office. I mean, it was deputies don't
- 46:57show up, deputies don't do anything.
- 46:59I had all these problems and right and that I knew that
- 47:04wasn't true because I knew who I worked with.
- 47:07I knew the I knew what deputies wanted to do and I knew what we
- 47:10tried to do. It was just not the direction of
- 47:13the department so everybody wasn't forced to be doing the
- 47:15same thing. And it's we just changed.
- 47:19We just changed not only our approach to how we did things,
- 47:25but in doing that, we changed people's perception of what we
- 47:28were doing. So now they see us constantly.
- 47:31They see us in their neighborhoods all the time.
- 47:33When they caught, they know we're going to, we're going to,
- 47:36if we're going, if you're going to be late to that call,
- 47:38dispatch will call them back and say we're coming, we're still on
- 47:42our way. Or the deputy will call and say,
- 47:45I was on my way to your call and I had to stop this car.
- 47:48As soon as I finish this, I'll I'm still coming.
- 47:51You don't have to call again. We're going to be there.
- 47:53So it's just taking more of a personal responsibility in
- 47:57making sure that the community that you're protecting and the
- 48:00community that you're serving is taken care of.
- 48:02I changed our motto to service above self-service.
- 48:06The service that we are providing goes in front of you,
- 48:11taking care of yourself. You sacrifice yourself, you
- 48:13sacrifice your time. Unfortunately, we know that in
- 48:16our lives, we sacrifice our family sometimes and but that's,
- 48:20that's what we got into. That's that's what, that's how I
- 48:23want to be. Better is making sure that the
- 48:25people that we serve are more important than us.
- 48:28So I want to get into your policy differences between
- 48:32yourself and some of the folks you're running against.
- 48:35Now there's the Democrat bucket, which the differences are going
- 48:38to be pretty extreme. We're going to get into that
- 48:39night and day. And then there's this Republican
- 48:42ish bucket. And then I want to get into the
- 48:45critic, the criticisms that you have of some of your, you know,
- 48:50folks next to you running as Republicans, as well as the
- 48:53criticisms that they have levied against you and your response to
- 48:56that. So let's start with the
- 48:57Republican bucket. There's another gentleman
- 49:00running right now for governor named Steve Hilton.
- 49:04And we were talking briefly about him before you, you sat
- 49:06down. I was asking about, you know,
- 49:08your thoughts, the differences. How do you see your leadership
- 49:12and policies as different from Hilton's?
- 49:16The the difference is one of us is a leader and the other one is
- 49:19not. And it's not just me saying
- 49:22that. I mean, I've never heard him say
- 49:25he's a leader. At least he's not going to lie
- 49:28and tell you he is. He's never done anything to
- 49:31prove anything otherwise. And I what's?
- 49:33His background that you would say that about him?
- 49:35He's a political strategist. His entire adult life has been a
- 49:39political strategist and a political strategist mission is
- 49:43to convince you of something that either may or may not be
- 49:46true. And for him, we have,
- 49:49thankfully, we have history that proves that it's not true.
- 49:53I mean, he was a political and, and he's not even from the
- 49:55United States. It was a political strategist in
- 49:58another country with a completely different government
- 50:01running different, different beliefs than American
- 50:05government. And we know from history that
- 50:09he, in that strategy that he was responsible for, he convinced
- 50:14the entire country that they were going to change their
- 50:18country in a more fiscally conservative Republican manner.
- 50:22And they were elected. His the person that was his boss
- 50:28was elected. But then quickly the government
- 50:30found out they weren't anything close to conservative
- 50:34Republicans. They were very liberal.
- 50:36They were very globalist. What country is this?
- 50:39England. So he basically helped run a
- 50:41campaign for. David Cameron.
- 50:43And he said we're so conservative, it's going to be
- 50:45great. We're going to not be like those
- 50:46other guys. And then you're saying they
- 50:48didn't fulfill those promises. But he was very good at making
- 50:50the promise in Europe. They made the promise.
- 50:52They convinced everybody of something that wasn't true.
- 50:54And then when they got into office, they changed and they
- 50:57went very green, very left, very liberal, very globalist.
- 51:01Steve Hilton might say, if he was here, I'm going to guess and
- 51:04we're going to try to have him on the show to talk what he
- 51:06wants to say, but he's going to say, well, that was not any
- 51:09faults or bosses, you know, it was his strategy.
- 51:12I would do it differently. I I mean, I don't know what he'd
- 51:14say, but maybe something along those lines.
- 51:16But we know that he was the chief strategist.
- 51:18He was behind the entire thing. And then when the country found
- 51:21out that they had been duped, he was unelected.
- 51:25And I mean, I'll say this, Steve was run out of England.
- 51:29He didn't voluntarily come to America.
- 51:31His political career was over in England because they figured him
- 51:35out and they it was over. He had to come to America.
- 51:39And he came to California. I don't know where he came to.
- 51:42I don't know if he started here or started.
- 51:44He been a resident here. Well, I think 10 years maybe,
- 51:49maybe a little bit more than that.
- 51:50He's just been five years, maybe as a citizen.
- 51:53So it is relatively new. But his past and my past are
- 51:57completely different. Mine is based on one of truth of
- 52:00integrity, honesty, leadership and his is about political
- 52:06strategy for a personal end, personal means for an end.
- 52:12And I've never flip-flopped. There's so that's and that's the
- 52:16difference. We don't like politicians
- 52:18because politicians say one thing and do something else.
- 52:21That's his entire life. And it's it's a little bit
- 52:24frustrating for me in this world right now knowing in California
- 52:28that we absolutely must change from Democrat the every 20 years
- 52:32we elected Republican governor. So even Steve.
- 52:35California gets bad enough and they're like, let's get the.
- 52:38Yes. So even Steve knew several years
- 52:40ago, we've all known that this was going to be the election
- 52:44that if we are going to win Republicans, it was going to be
- 52:46this one. Because every 20 years we do it.
- 52:49And California is horrible right now.
- 52:52So a lot of things are going wrong to convince people let's
- 52:54go a different path. And so like, for instance, I'm
- 52:59I, my entire life, there is nothing about me other than
- 53:02fiscally conservative Republican.
- 53:05Everything about my life says that I'm a Christian
- 53:09conservative Republican. When Steve first came to the
- 53:15United States, he formed a business to raise money for the
- 53:18Democrat Party. His candidate.
- 53:21Was like 10 years ago. That was in 2016.
- 53:24OK, so that was. I mean, even to the point where
- 53:27he has said that he wanted Bernie Sanders to be president
- 53:32and he did not support President Trump originally, but then jumps
- 53:38on the bandwagon because he sees that's where everybody else is
- 53:40going and now has changed his tune for this.
- 53:43So he's not a Republican, he's a globalist, self-proclaimed.
- 53:49He won't say he's a globalist. He says he's a populist.
- 53:52But when you look at what he's done, what he did in England,
- 53:55it's globalist that is not Republican.
- 53:57That is that is what California is technically doing now that
- 54:01the socialism, globalist, everybody the same and all those
- 54:04things. That's what we're fighting
- 54:06against. But that's his core beliefs.
- 54:08And so there's everything is completely opposite about he and
- 54:13I. My life is based on integrity
- 54:15and honesty. Law enforcement, I can be fired
- 54:20for lying. I can lose my position for
- 54:24lying. In law enforcement world, we
- 54:26call it you lie, you die. That's just a phrase.
- 54:28We have that if you lie, you can no longer be a cop because you
- 54:33can never go to court. You can never arrest someone.
- 54:36Exactly. And that's how it should be.
- 54:39But along those lines, in this election, for all of you out
- 54:44there watching and listening, you can be rest assured that I'm
- 54:47the only one telling you the truth 100% of the time.
- 54:50And so if someone else is saying something different, you can be
- 54:55guaranteed that I'm not lying. So you.
- 54:57Might have to question that if you lie in your campaign, could
- 55:00you be fired for that? Technically, I technically I can
- 55:03be removed or prevented or it's going to be, it's going to,
- 55:07it's, it's basically going to taint all of the deputies that
- 55:11work under me. If your boss is a liar, then the
- 55:14whole organization, right? Then the whole organization is
- 55:18dishonest and distrustful and everything else.
- 55:20And this is their agenda. So we also have peace officers.
- 55:25We have, we have a certificate now that the state controls.
- 55:29So our ability to be peace officers is because we have a
- 55:32law enforcement certificate that can be revoked if we violate
- 55:37those law enforcement rules. So the state of California can
- 55:40take away my peace officer powers, my ability to be a peace
- 55:44officer if I violate those rules.
- 55:47And if that happens, then I'm not qualified to be the sheriff.
- 55:50So I can't be the sheriff if I'm not even a law enforcement
- 55:52officer. It's, it's a, it's nuanced and
- 55:55it's technical, but that's been my life.
- 55:58My life is about honesty, integrity, transparency.
- 56:02And you just do the right thing for the right reasons.
- 56:03And it doesn't matter what the consequences are because you're
- 56:06always telling the truth and you always do something right.
- 56:09And that's the difference between he and I.
- 56:11So if Steve Hilton comes in and we're going to invite him on the
- 56:13show, we'll see if he shows up. But if, you know, he's welcome
- 56:15to join the show, I'm going to invite Katie Porter on the show.
- 56:17I'm going to write Erica Swalwell.
- 56:18We're going to bite them all. I'm glad you're you're here
- 56:20first. So if Steve Hilton cams and I
- 56:23say, well, what's your what's your beef with Sheriff Bianco?
- 56:28What would he say? I'm standing in his, well, he's
- 56:30standing in anything. I'm standing in his way of
- 56:32winning. But what's his criticism of you?
- 56:34He he does have a pot I was just looking at yesterday.
- 56:37His only criticism of me right now is he is claiming that I
- 56:40sided with BLM in the riots of 2020 when the reality of that
- 56:44was right. At the same time that I hit the
- 56:47national stage with COVID and standing up to COVID, I also hit
- 56:51the national stage for standing up to BLM and eliminating them
- 56:56from our county. And we did it with overwhelming
- 56:59force. And but the one particular thing
- 57:02that he's claiming, and he's being dishonest in his
- 57:05representation because he knows he has to harm me to elevate
- 57:10himself. His qualifications are not going
- 57:12to put him above me in this campaign.
- 57:15So he somehow has to harm me. My campaign is based on honesty,
- 57:18integrity, leadership. And So what does he have to do?
- 57:22He has to attack honesty, integrity and leadership.
- 57:26So he's making up all of these allegations that I'm not being
- 57:29honest, that I don't have any leadership ability and I don't
- 57:33have any integrity. And in this particular case,
- 57:36back in 2020, there was right when when it started going from,
- 57:40I don't want to say peaceful protest, it was never peaceful.
- 57:43But when it went from protest to violent, we told them it was
- 57:47over. We told them you have 20
- 57:49minutes. This is now an unlawful
- 57:50assembly. We're going to physically,
- 57:52violently maybe, and remove you from this area.
- 57:58And the organizers at the time, I had met with them several days
- 58:02prior and going over the ground rules and everything else.
- 58:06I had been with them for hours on the front line.
- 58:09We had 1200 officers that were there on the front line, 10,000,
- 58:12roughly about 10,000 protesters. And I had been in between those
- 58:16two groups. There's a line of deputies and
- 58:19cops behind me. Protesters are all this way, and
- 58:21I'm in the middle. And we were making sure that
- 58:24everything was perfect. We will protect your right to
- 58:28protest, but we're not going to allow you to break the law.
- 58:32And so I told them it was over, and they thanked me for
- 58:35everything that we had done for the last several hours.
- 58:37And they asked if they could pray for my deputies.
- 58:40I'm never going to say no to that.
- 58:42So they asked people around them to pray.
- 58:45I asked deputies if they wanted to pray.
- 58:47I told them I couldn't force anybody, but if they want to,
- 58:49they can. And we prayed.
- 58:52So the pictures and the and the video snippets that are being
- 58:55posted by Steve and paid for by Steve for everybody to see today
- 58:59is just saying, look, he he kneeled to BLM.
- 59:03And so you have that connotation that by bending a knee or by
- 59:08kneeling to BLM means that I cowered to BLM or I sympathize
- 59:11with them or I was on their side.
- 59:14Well, that doesn't go together with an organization that was
- 59:20basically a mortal enemy of law enforcement.
- 59:23They were a domestic terrorist organization that hated cops.
- 59:28So how does, how do I, how am IA national leader of law
- 59:34enforcement right now? If I I bent the knee to a
- 59:40domestic terrorist organization that hates cops.
- 59:42In in this in this incident that Steve Hilton's talking about and
- 59:46there's AI mean I've watched the video, right.
- 59:48And so you see it all. You can see it all in videos.
- 59:49It's there are. Are you saying that the the
- 59:52organizers, the BLM, because all the BLM is monolith.
- 59:55There's some people that earnestly went out.
- 59:57My friends, yeah, I had friends and extended family members that
- 1:00:01were there. Because there was a true
- 1:00:03sympathy for some people who have been victims of yeah, there
- 1:00:06have been events of police brutality that does exist.
- 1:00:09Now, does that mean that all police are bad?
- 1:00:11No. Like, so there's the nuance,
- 1:00:13right? And, and there was overwhelming
- 1:00:14sympathy for, you know, you watch anyone killed on camera or
- 1:00:18die on camera afterwards. It was discovered he had all
- 1:00:20these, you know, drugs in his system and stuff.
- 1:00:21But you watch that, and it's devastating, right?
- 1:00:23And so of course, there's an understanding of it.
- 1:00:26And Derek Chauvin, he's in jail for it.
- 1:00:28I know. Will he be let go of jail?
- 1:00:30I mean, there's obviously this whole debate around that.
- 1:00:32But the point is to watch a gentleman, you know, a
- 1:00:37ultimately a person made in God's image, any human being
- 1:00:39killed on camera is going to create sympathy and concern.
- 1:00:42And then you're going to get concerned about is the police
- 1:00:44doing the best tactics here and is there police brutality?
- 1:00:47Here brought the protesters out there.
- 1:00:48Right, so I'm not. They weren't all rioters trying
- 1:00:50to burn it down. Some of them weren't all bad.
- 1:00:52Yes. So when you were talking to
- 1:00:54those people on the front line and you're having this
- 1:00:56interaction, they're asking to pray, was that a friendly?
- 1:00:59I mean, it sounds like it was a very friendly interaction
- 1:01:01because you actually, you were not afraid of them.
- 1:01:02You got on your knees in front. I was not afraid.
- 1:01:05I was. Not afraid you were on their.
- 1:01:06Knees and they weren't afraid of the deputies.
- 1:01:07I mean, when not the the there were three real organizers that
- 1:01:11organized the event, that got their permits and all of those
- 1:01:13things. They did the right thing.
- 1:01:15But we all knew that we were watching LA burn the night
- 1:01:18before they were getting. Heated up and that's when you
- 1:01:21said you guys got to stop now because it's just it could go,
- 1:01:23it could get violent, was your concern.
- 1:01:25Yes, and and we waited until it did.
- 1:01:28So the first bottle that got thrown at us, that's when I said
- 1:01:32OK, it's over. So there was a bottle.
- 1:01:33Oh yes, absolutely. There were several all at once.
- 1:01:36They it was, it was, that's what every one of those protests.
- 1:01:39Not everyone. The majority of those protests
- 1:01:42at the time, that's what they turned into.
- 1:01:44They were all peaceful protests until they weren't.
- 1:01:47But they all ended up or the majority of them ended up not.
- 1:01:51And then what we see on TV was when they spiraled because there
- 1:01:54was no enforcement, so there was no one stopping.
- 1:01:56So they're getting down on one knee?
- 1:01:57Was this after the bottle was thrown?
- 1:01:59No. Oh, I see.
- 1:02:00That was 1/2 hour before. OK, so there were things were
- 1:02:03peaceful at that point and. And it was getting to it well.
- 1:02:06It was at the point where I said, OK, it's over now.
- 1:02:09We're going to give you 30 minutes to clear out this is an
- 1:02:12unlawful assembly. We made the announcements of the
- 1:02:14unlawful assembly, told everybody that they had to
- 1:02:16leave. I told them that they had to
- 1:02:18leave. At the time.
- 1:02:19They told me basically, thank you.
- 1:02:21Your deputies were unbelievably professional when they probably
- 1:02:25shouldn't have been because of how we were being treated.
- 1:02:28And then they told me what was going, what we could expect.
- 1:02:31They told me where the weapons were, what was going to be used
- 1:02:34against us. The general description of the
- 1:02:36people that were, they're all dressed the same.
- 1:02:38The Antifa types that were going to be instigating the crowd and
- 1:02:42that we're going to be driving what was going to come next.
- 1:02:44They knew what was coming next. We all that's what we had
- 1:02:47planned for. And so when I told them it was
- 1:02:50over, they thanked me. Everything's good.
- 1:02:53They had been in my office prior prior days and before they left,
- 1:02:56they prayed, we prayed that everything was going to end up
- 1:02:59well. So that night they said, can we
- 1:03:01pray for your deputies? We know this is not going to end
- 1:03:03well. Can we pray for everybody's
- 1:03:05safety? And I said yes.
- 1:03:07So in hindsight. Did they ask you to kneel?
- 1:03:09Yes. I see so in.
- 1:03:11Trying to trick you or. I don't.
- 1:03:13Well, if I looked back now I could say possibly, but.
- 1:03:17Because they wanted that gotcha shot.
- 1:03:18Time in the me to the moment and this is the problem that I have
- 1:03:20where I get so frustrated with people because there's a lot of
- 1:03:23people saying that I should have known better and you and you
- 1:03:26know, I should have done something different.
- 1:03:28Well, that's easy for you to say sitting in your living.
- 1:03:32Room. Exactly from the safety of your
- 1:03:35television. But I was in front of 10,000
- 1:03:38people yelling, deaf to cops, calling me and my parents, every
- 1:03:43name in the book and mixed in with some of my friends.
- 1:03:48Now I couldn't believe that they were there.
- 1:03:50I didn't want them there, but that was still their right to do
- 1:03:53it. So we maintained the the safety
- 1:03:56and security of the protesters. But at the same time, we had to
- 1:03:59protect the buildings, we had to protect the businesses, we had
- 1:04:01to protect the people that lived there.
- 1:04:03We had to protect the people that weren't there to be
- 1:04:04violent. And when it became violent, we
- 1:04:07ended it. And so to be very brutally
- 1:04:10honest, I was the first person in the country to actually end
- 1:04:15their riots to the point where I had conversations with the
- 1:04:18sheriff of Los Angeles saying you've got to do the same thing.
- 1:04:21You can't let this get Snowball out of control.
- 1:04:24You have to end it now. And then they eventually did.
- 1:04:27It took them a couple of days because they they were kind of a
- 1:04:30little bit behind the 8 ball, but we never got behind the 8
- 1:04:32ball. We eliminated them at the time.
- 1:04:35So in hindsight, looking back was were we played?
- 1:04:38Maybe, but I don't care. I know what I did during that
- 1:04:42time was the exact right thing to do.
- 1:04:45I know that everything that happened that day worked out
- 1:04:48perfect because we had no injuries.
- 1:04:50We had no businesses looted, we had no businesses damaged.
- 1:04:54We had them eliminated from our downtown.
- 1:04:57No fires, no buildings burned down, nothing of the sort.
- 1:05:01And to this day, they haven't come back.
- 1:05:04They've gone into everywhere else, but they haven't come back
- 1:05:07to Riverside County. And we follow them online.
- 1:05:10We follow the groups that are organizing all these paid
- 1:05:13protests because that's what they are.
- 1:05:15And they warn people don't go to Riverside County.
- 1:05:18Well, and I think like saying, OK, I'll kneel.
- 1:05:19I'll kneel to pray. You just said it.
- 1:05:21And in the moment, yeah, I'll kneel to pray.
- 1:05:23It's not thinking of a bigger agenda of getting a gotcha
- 1:05:25moment for politics or something.
- 1:05:27And you held your line, like you said, you prevented property
- 1:05:29damage. You prevented a riot from
- 1:05:31forming. And I think, you know, again,
- 1:05:34we'll hear Steve Hilton give his best case.
- 1:05:36If he comes on about why, you know, that's just unacceptable
- 1:05:39or whatever. But I'm like, big deal, big
- 1:05:41deal. Yeah.
- 1:05:42Is it wrong to kneel to pray as a cop in public?
- 1:05:44Is that wrong? Is that like against code?
- 1:05:46I don't, I've never heard of that.
- 1:05:47I don't know. And so for, and so I'll, I'll, I
- 1:05:50don't, I'm not going to defend him because he's being dishonest
- 1:05:53about the whole thing, but he's going to say this is where he is
- 1:05:56attacking my leadership, integrity and honesty because
- 1:05:59his answer is I'm lying. His answer is that I'm making
- 1:06:02that up that we didn't pray because in his little video,
- 1:06:06there's no mention of praying. So therefore, Chad Bianca's a
- 1:06:10liar. That's, that's his position.
- 1:06:13And I, I tell everyone this, everyone, I don't care what you
- 1:06:20think. I care what the 1200 cops there
- 1:06:23think. And the 1200 cops that were
- 1:06:25there know exactly what happened that night.
- 1:06:28They know that I didn't kneel to BLM.
- 1:06:30They know I didn't side with them one single bit.
- 1:06:34They know that we were asked to pray.
- 1:06:35So was that happened off camera? Like how does that work?
- 1:06:38Then someone they you guys were discussing, they said hey, we.
- 1:06:40Don't know where those cameras came from.
- 1:06:42They're not ours. I mean, they're cell phones and
- 1:06:44they. What was the time sequence?
- 1:06:46And then we can move on to some of the policy stuff.
- 1:06:47But the time sequence was they talk, they ask you to pray, and
- 1:06:51then you. The news, the interview with the
- 1:06:55news lady, there was only one news lady there and she didn't
- 1:06:59come there until after. So she came there after it was
- 1:07:02over. But then I sat there and
- 1:07:03interviewed with her. And so she's got her camera,
- 1:07:07she's sitting on the ground with her camera and she's has me
- 1:07:10kneeling there on the camera and I did an interview with her on
- 1:07:13the camera. Do I maybe regret that part?
- 1:07:16Yes. But I still wouldn't change it.
- 1:07:18I don't care because I know what we were doing at the time.
- 1:07:22And it's the decisions that I have to make that are different
- 1:07:27than everyone else is. My decisions involve or could
- 1:07:33involve life and death on the other side.
- 1:07:34Do you think it diffused the tension that you were on your
- 1:07:37knees? We know it did.
- 1:07:38We know it did. Everyone there said it did.
- 1:07:41If you look back now, I'll give you a perfect example.
- 1:07:44There is a reporter from one of our newspapers that I probably
- 1:07:50don't know if there's another person in the world that he
- 1:07:53dislikes more than me. I don't care for whatever
- 1:07:57reason, I he just does not like me being the sheriff and he does
- 1:08:02everything he can to badmouth me.
- 1:08:04And he just did an op-ed saying how wrong it is for them to
- 1:08:07attack me on this because I'm the only law enforcement officer
- 1:08:12at the time leader that saved my city.
- 1:08:16And he said he doesn't care. He doesn't necessarily he one
- 1:08:20way or the other, he doesn't believe me or not believe me.
- 1:08:22He just knows that I made the right decisions at the right
- 1:08:25time in that moment and I protected our city.
- 1:08:29And he even says it hurts him to even say that because he doesn't
- 1:08:32like me. But in that particular
- 1:08:34situation, I did the right thing.
- 1:08:36And I will tell you from a leadership perspective, I was
- 1:08:40leading both sides there. And do you know it at the time?
- 1:08:43No, you don't. But but my, my being, my ability
- 1:08:47to be a leader is leading both sides.
- 1:08:50Those 3 organizers of that event were not against me.
- 1:08:55They were doing everything they could to work with me to make
- 1:08:57sure that they got what they wanted, to make sure that they
- 1:09:00were able to protest. And maybe maybe part of them
- 1:09:02asking you to kneel to pray, but that sign of almost a sense of
- 1:09:06solidarity that they wanted you to show for the good people in
- 1:09:10the crowd, for them to feel like, yes, they got me.
- 1:09:13They got our message. Now we can now we can disband.
- 1:09:17I mean, I wonder if that was part of like almost like a
- 1:09:19diploma diplomatic thing that they were trying to do with you
- 1:09:22all. It may be.
- 1:09:23Prevent some of the more violent folks from taking advantage of
- 1:09:26the crowd's zeal. It may be, and there's even
- 1:09:28proof that that could be it because they were kneeling too.
- 1:09:32Oh, they kneel too. Oh absolutely.
- 1:09:33The BLM people kneel, yes. So were they kneeling to me?
- 1:09:36That you guys were both kneeling.
- 1:09:38Yes, they're they weren't kneeling to me.
- 1:09:40They're not going to say they were kneeling to me.
- 1:09:42We were kneeling to pray and. So both sides kneeled?
- 1:09:46Yes. Do you have any regrets?
- 1:09:49None. Of how you handled that
- 1:09:51situation. None, none.
- 1:09:53We set the tone for the country to end those riots and knowing
- 1:09:58now the riots that happened in LA recently about ICE and they
- 1:10:02can't. They were coming to Riverside.
- 1:10:04The groups and the the websites and the instant message or the
- 1:10:08the social media sites were directing them to Riverside.
- 1:10:11And then came the warnings from the organizers.
- 1:10:15We advise you not to go there specifically, they said, and I
- 1:10:20haven't, I could read it to word for word, but it's you're going
- 1:10:24to Riverside County and Riverside County is controlled
- 1:10:26by Sheriff Chad Bianco. We cannot help you there.
- 1:10:29If you do go there, do not go around anyone in a 10° uniform
- 1:10:33and avoid county buildings and county controlled cities.
- 1:10:36That's what they told the protesters because I set the
- 1:10:39tone. They know exactly where they fit
- 1:10:42in the in the public safety realm.
- 1:10:44You can protest, but you're not going to be violent.
- 1:10:46We've had, we've had several protests and they are very
- 1:10:50peaceful. They are very calm.
- 1:10:52They come out and they do their protest for an hour and then
- 1:10:56they leave. But the riots, the violence is
- 1:10:59never going to come to Riverside County.
- 1:11:01So how is your policy different and how do you talk about your
- 1:11:04policy being different, if at all, from Steve Hilton's?
- 1:11:06I, I, I know you're talking about leadership, your
- 1:11:08positioning, your experience. So you've talked about that, but
- 1:11:10do you have any differences in policies that voters should know
- 1:11:13about? No, because I came out with all
- 1:11:16of my policies in February and then in April he repeated all of
- 1:11:20them. So there, there is nothing
- 1:11:22different. Mine is more bold because I know
- 1:11:25exactly what I can do. I know exactly why California's
- 1:11:27broke and I know exactly how we can fix it.
- 1:11:29And I know that I have the leadership to do it, the desire
- 1:11:33and the leadership ability to do it.
- 1:11:35So he's claiming that he's going to lower taxes for those that
- 1:11:39make less than $100,000. I'm going to eliminate state
- 1:11:42income tax for everyone. I'm going to make us 100% oil
- 1:11:48independent in California. Wait a minute, you want to
- 1:11:51eliminate Allstate income tax? Because there's several other.
- 1:11:54States that do this, which is amazing. 10 other U.S. states
- 1:11:58have no have no income tax. How are you going to?
- 1:12:00We're going to be the 11th. How I love that.
- 1:12:03I mean, sounds good to me. How are you going to how are we
- 1:12:04going to pay the bills, oil and how are we?
- 1:12:07Going to get Texas does the same way Alaska does, the same way
- 1:12:09the Dakotas do, the same way everybody else that has oil does
- 1:12:13it. We have more oil than anyone.
- 1:12:16Aren't they shutting down a refinery as they speak?
- 1:12:18Our California government is forcing oil out of our state,
- 1:12:22and here's the billions. Of dollars.
- 1:12:23We're bleeding right when we do that.
- 1:12:25Billions. Probably hundreds of billions,
- 1:12:28whether you like or want to be green or save the environment,
- 1:12:32we all want to save the environment.
- 1:12:33As God fearing people, as God believing people, we are called
- 1:12:37to save the environment. We are called to protect what we
- 1:12:40are given. And we are going to do that the
- 1:12:42same way every other state in the country does.
- 1:12:44But California is not going to live in a Pollyanna world where
- 1:12:49we're going to save the world on Californians backs where no one
- 1:12:53else is doing anything. The rest of the country is doing
- 1:12:56what they should be doing to save the environment, but
- 1:12:59California does it on steroids and it's basically just
- 1:13:02punishing us for living in California, taking away our
- 1:13:04money. So oil is not bad.
- 1:13:08We have been lied to and said that oil is bad.
- 1:13:11And the reality of oil is oil runs the world and oil will run
- 1:13:17the world for the next 100 years.
- 1:13:19We're never going to run out. We're not going to run out.
- 1:13:21It's not a it's not a, a resource that is being
- 1:13:25eliminated. We have far more oil than we
- 1:13:28will ever, ever, ever use. California has more heavy crude
- 1:13:32than any place in the world and we're 4th and sweet crude.
- 1:13:35And yet we import 80% of our oil.
- 1:13:38There is a benefit to drilling your own because when you drill
- 1:13:41your own, the oil company pays the state of fee.
- 1:13:43For every gallon they drill, they pay a fee to the state.
- 1:13:46The 80% coming in pays absolutely nothing.
- 1:13:49So that so when oil is being drilled in California as if it
- 1:13:52is, it's already paying fees. Right now it is.
- 1:13:55When you and and are those fees enough to replace?
- 1:13:58If we let all the companies back into drill here, would that be
- 1:14:02enough to replace? Abolishing income tax for
- 1:14:05really? Yes, that's crazy because we
- 1:14:07would now become an exporter of oil.
- 1:14:09Yes, if we were oil independent in California, the money
- 1:14:12generated from drilling our own oil and using our own oil
- 1:14:15completely fund state government.
- 1:14:17So what are the environmental realities if we were to do this,
- 1:14:21become more oil, not just independent, but now we're at
- 1:14:24oil power, we're exporting it, we're making money off of it.
- 1:14:27It's it's funding our state. What are the like real world
- 1:14:31experiences that people might have in terms of is it going to
- 1:14:34pollute our environment more? It is going to do absolutely
- 1:14:37nothing. Really absolutely nothing.
- 1:14:40We have been lied to. We have been misled.
- 1:14:42We have been abused by activists, by climate activists,
- 1:14:46by environmental activists that have been controlling the entire
- 1:14:50state of California at our expense.
- 1:14:53It won't have any negative impact on our oceans.
- 1:14:55It's actually going to be a better impact if you're if you
- 1:14:58care about the environment and you care about green and you
- 1:15:00care about your whole carbon footprint.
- 1:15:03It is far worse for the world and California that we get our
- 1:15:10oil from the Middle East because they have 0 restrictions, 0
- 1:15:14regulations. They're just doing whatever it
- 1:15:16is they're doing in the Middle East to get as much oil as they
- 1:15:18can to sell it to us. Then we load it onto ships and
- 1:15:21then ship all that oil over here.
- 1:15:23The carbon footprint is 10 * 100 times worse than if we drilled
- 1:15:28our own oil from California. They, they want you to believe
- 1:15:32they're going to the, the left when they attack me for this.
- 1:15:36They're going to show you pictures of the Middle East.
- 1:15:38They're going to show you pictures of Venezuela.
- 1:15:40They're going to show you pictures of these horrific,
- 1:15:43horrible things that are happening to the environment and
- 1:15:46make you believe that it's oil in California and it's not.
- 1:15:49Can we drill though that that physical amounts of oil while
- 1:15:53maintaining our environmental standards?
- 1:15:55Completely. Completely.
- 1:15:57Can you explain that a little more for people?
- 1:15:59What does that what what are the environmental standards that we
- 1:16:01can maintain while drilling at the amount where we could fund
- 1:16:04the government, the oil independent?
- 1:16:07The same ones that the the Dakotas have the same 1 Colorado
- 1:16:10has the same one Texas has the same one Alaska has.
- 1:16:14So is Texas destroyed or any other state that is oil
- 1:16:18independent? Are they, have they been
- 1:16:20destroyed? Is Alaska destroyed?
- 1:16:22Alaska is one of the most beautiful places on the entire
- 1:16:25planet. How can that be?
- 1:16:28Their oil independent, They, they supply the world with oil.
- 1:16:31So how can that be? The reality is we've been lied
- 1:16:35to. We've been lied to for an
- 1:16:37agenda. And they've, they're playing on
- 1:16:39our hearts and our emotions of us wanting to do the right thing
- 1:16:42because we're good people. And Oh my gosh, we have to
- 1:16:44protect our environment. Well, OK, yes, that's right.
- 1:16:47And we're going to protect our environment.
- 1:16:49We're not going to just allow unfettered drilling and oil
- 1:16:55flowing down the sidewalk. I mean, that's that's not going
- 1:16:59to happen. Where?
- 1:17:00Where is the oil in California? Just for people's.
- 1:17:03Predominantly Kern County, but then also there's tons of oil
- 1:17:07reserves along the coast. So the Central Valley from
- 1:17:12probably like San Bernardino, the edge of San Bernardino
- 1:17:14County, north all through Kern County, all through the Central
- 1:17:17Valley, tons and tons and tons of oil reserves.
- 1:17:21And then even along our coastline, there's oil
- 1:17:23everywhere really. But the majority of the big
- 1:17:26deposits are Kern County and our coastal.
- 1:17:28Areas. So does that mean we'll see?
- 1:17:30We would see drilling on the beach.
- 1:17:32No, no, absolutely not. We have several.
- 1:17:35We have several offshore drilling wells now that have
- 1:17:38been there for a long time. They've just shut them.
- 1:17:40Down you don't even. We don't really see them even.
- 1:17:42I mean, you can see them. You don't really know what they
- 1:17:44are. It's like, oh, I wonder what
- 1:17:45that is. It's a big, it's a big platform
- 1:17:47out there in the ocean. But the reality?
- 1:17:50And I think there's this like, again, these are the climate
- 1:17:52activists stories of that can instill fear, but well, there's
- 1:17:56an oil spill and now our beautiful Pacific.
- 1:18:00Ocean, we have to take care of it, and we absolutely do the
- 1:18:03same way Texas does, the same way every other state that
- 1:18:07drills oil, they do the same thing.
- 1:18:10There's there's there's no one in those states complaining.
- 1:18:14There's no one in the rest of the country complaining that
- 1:18:16Texas uses its own oil. Texas just benefits from it.
- 1:18:20Texans love it. Alaska.
- 1:18:22Alaskans love it. If you live in Alaska, you get
- 1:18:26paid for being an Alaskan at the end of the year because of the
- 1:18:29revenue generated from oil. Does Alaska have no income tax?
- 1:18:32No income tax and then they get a check at the end of the year
- 1:18:35because of oil. Because of oil.
- 1:18:37That's wild. Right.
- 1:18:38That's what Texas is. It, it, it's, it's, I'm not
- 1:18:42reinventing the wheel. I'm just allowing.
- 1:18:47Well, I will tell you I also during this campaign, one of my
- 1:18:50big issues is is convincing conservative Republicans to stop
- 1:18:54being so pessimistic. Wow.
- 1:18:55We are the most pessimistic people everywhere.
- 1:18:58We're everything is always no. No, I believe you.
- 1:19:01I believe you. But I think, I think the average
- 1:19:03person, we're not even. I think the.
- 1:19:04Conditioned for that. We're not conditioned for it.
- 1:19:07Yes, we think, oh, it's hell in a handbasket.
- 1:19:09And I hate this when people say that California is impossible to
- 1:19:11change it it's locked in, you know, it's it's gonna, it's just
- 1:19:14going downhill, downhill. I said, why does it always?
- 1:19:17Leadership is what can change it.
- 1:19:19Leadership is what can make people change their behavior,
- 1:19:21change their. You can't change your behavior
- 1:19:23if you have a different vision. And I think you casting a vision
- 1:19:26of what's possible is half the battle.
- 1:19:28Yeah, I'll give you a perfect example.
- 1:19:31Outside of the environment. I I love the environment.
- 1:19:33I want my kids to enjoy California, everything about it.
- 1:19:36I want them to enjoy the beach. I want them to enjoy their
- 1:19:39mountains. I want them to enjoy their
- 1:19:40valleys. I want the I want them to enjoy
- 1:19:42the food that California grows. Everything about California.
- 1:19:46I want my grandkids and my kids to enjoy.
- 1:19:48I don't want them going to another state to do it.
- 1:19:50I want them doing it here. So I do care about the
- 1:19:53environment. I do care about what what our
- 1:19:56what our world looks like, what our country looks like, what our
- 1:19:59state looks like. I don't want black skies.
- 1:20:01I don't want oil running down the sidewalk.
- 1:20:03I don't want any of those things.
- 1:20:04And we'll make sure that that never, ever happens just like
- 1:20:06other places are doing. Perfect example is wildlife.
- 1:20:11I am and and. California's wildlife is being
- 1:20:17absolutely destroyed by animal activism.
- 1:20:20How so? We have a hands off approach to
- 1:20:24animal to to wildlife in California particularly the
- 1:20:28perfect example is wolves. So wolves are extinct in
- 1:20:32California. Well, people that like looking
- 1:20:35at wolves in magazines living in San Francisco decided that they
- 1:20:39wanted wolves back into because how horrible people are that we
- 1:20:44made wolves extinct. Well, we didn't really make them
- 1:20:47extinct. They still live everywhere, just
- 1:20:50not in California, because we live here and we are the
- 1:20:54predominant species and wolves didn't want to be around us.
- 1:20:58So wolves moved away. They went far north into the
- 1:21:01more secluded areas and everything else.
- 1:21:03So Californians decide to decide that they want not Californians.
- 1:21:07The majority of Californians don't want them, but the
- 1:21:10politicians decide that they're going to bring wolves back.
- 1:21:12We import what we did we. Did we put them in Northern
- 1:21:15California? Shasta County, Siskiyou County,
- 1:21:18those northern county, the the northern counties in our state
- 1:21:21in the mountains. So now their farmer farmers are
- 1:21:24being their, their ranches are being destroyed by wolves eating
- 1:21:27cows, eating all the livestock. Now they're eating their they're
- 1:21:31killing their horses, they're killing their dogs.
- 1:21:33They're missing, they're missing animals from all over.
- 1:21:35The deer in the elk herds are being completely decimated by an
- 1:21:40overpopulation of lions, bears, and now wolves.
- 1:21:45A true wildlife management program manages that wildlife so
- 1:21:50all of them thrive. You can't have an unlimited
- 1:21:53amount of mountain lions in California.
- 1:21:55You do, and that's wildlife management.
- 1:21:57That's what I want. I know that in order for us to
- 1:22:01have deer so everybody can see an an elk and bears and mountain
- 1:22:05lions and wolves, we have to manage all of them.
- 1:22:08And it's not a hands off approach.
- 1:22:10But we are controlled by activists.
- 1:22:13That's who runs our state activist lawyers and in those
- 1:22:16activism groups control our state.
- 1:22:19And so all of us are being, we're suffering the consequences
- 1:22:23of that and we just have to put common sense into it.
- 1:22:26Common sense has to be put back into how we manage every aspect
- 1:22:29of our state. What would you do differently
- 1:22:31now? We're talking about your
- 1:22:32differences with obviously the Democrats big time here.
- 1:22:34So we're talking about the environment, we're talking about
- 1:22:36the economy and how you would just transform that by removing
- 1:22:40the income tax and then? We remove taxes.
- 1:22:42We remove regulation that's causing fees and businesses to
- 1:22:46flee. And it's it.
- 1:22:48We, we have a, we have a regulatory process in California
- 1:22:52that's been weaponized by lawyers and activism groups to
- 1:22:55prevent growth. That's truly what they represent
- 1:22:58is no growth. There can be no home building,
- 1:23:01there can be no businesses. There can be no new businesses,
- 1:23:04no expanding of cities, no new cities.
- 1:23:06Everything has to be what we already have, which is why they,
- 1:23:10they want every place to just be built straight up.
- 1:23:13Everybody live in an apartment. You don't get to to have your
- 1:23:15own house anymore. You have to live in an apartment
- 1:23:17where we tell you to live. That's activism and it has to
- 1:23:21stop. That's not American, that's not
- 1:23:24Californian, that's not what we all want, and it has to
- 1:23:27absolutely stop. What about these issues that by
- 1:23:31quite frankly, as a parent find terrifying coming down the Pike?
- 1:23:34Like children are not, you know, children become basically wards
- 1:23:40of the state effectively. And if they decide they're trans
- 1:23:43at, you know, nine years old, you can lose custody if if
- 1:23:46you're not affirming their new trans identity and you're not
- 1:23:48allowed to take your child to counseling if they're struggling
- 1:23:51with same sex attraction. I mean, this is already the
- 1:23:53stated law in California. They call it conversion therapy.
- 1:23:56I've had on these so-called conversion therapists.
- 1:23:58They're actually just counselors who are helping people navigate.
- 1:24:00Why do you experience same sex attraction?
- 1:24:02What does it mean? So there's all of this.
- 1:24:04It's insane social engineering when it comes to our children
- 1:24:08and healthcare and they're saying parents aren't allowed to
- 1:24:11basically be parents anymore. Yeah, absolutely not.
- 1:24:14Government doesn't have kids. They have no ability to have
- 1:24:18kids. Parents have kids and parents
- 1:24:21raise their kids. It's parents responsibility to
- 1:24:24decide what goes into their kids body, how their kids think, how
- 1:24:28their kids are raised, that their values, their beliefs, all
- 1:24:33of those things are the parents responsibility, not the
- 1:24:35government's. And the government doesn't get
- 1:24:37to take your kids away and then decide to teach them something
- 1:24:40different while at the same time telling them to keep secrets
- 1:24:43from you. As a parent, as a cop, I am
- 1:24:46telling you right now there is. And as a dad, there is
- 1:24:51absolutely nothing more terrifying than another adult
- 1:24:56telling a child to keep a secret from a parent that ethically,
- 1:25:01morally, criminally, everything about it is 100% wrong.
- 1:25:07And that's the agenda and that's the mission of California State
- 1:25:10government in our education system.
- 1:25:12And it absolutely ends with me as your governor.
- 1:25:15Absolutely ends. What?
- 1:25:17What about education? Our.
- 1:25:19Educational education, you know, our education system is there's
- 1:25:24a lot of complaints about California's education.
- 1:25:27There's also concerns about vaccine policies where families
- 1:25:30are being told that unless they fulfill the schedule, I mean,
- 1:25:33even the CDC came out with a new schedule and California's like,
- 1:25:36screw you, we're going to give them all hepatitis B, the kids.
- 1:25:39I mean, that's what's your take on all that?
- 1:25:41That's going to end. You are not going to have to
- 1:25:43vaccinate your kids to get them into school.
- 1:25:45That is up to a parent. What happens to?
- 1:25:48What they think is best for their kids.
- 1:25:49Absolutely, Absolutely. If they want the child to be
- 1:25:52protected in that way, they can choose that.
- 1:25:53If they don't want that, then they they don't need to do.
- 1:25:55That and for all of the detractors that are looking me
- 1:25:57saying how I'm not a doctor, I actually just pay attention to
- 1:26:01doctors and scientists and everything else.
- 1:26:03And there's just as many doctors and scientists that are saying
- 1:26:06that we are being harmed and killed by medical intervention,
- 1:26:10by vaccines, by treatments, by whatever the case as doctors and
- 1:26:16scientists on the other side that are saying how necessary it
- 1:26:19is. So when that happens, that's
- 1:26:21what trusting the sciences is. You learn both sides and you
- 1:26:24trust, you trust what the science is.
- 1:26:27And if you trust the science, this is saying that these these
- 1:26:29vaccines are causing autism, these vaccines are causing
- 1:26:32death, these vaccines are causing all of these issues,
- 1:26:34then you decide whether or not your child is going to get those
- 1:26:37vaccines with can with informed consent of what the consequences
- 1:26:42are of not only not getting in the vaccine, but also getting
- 1:26:46the vaccine. But that is your job and your
- 1:26:48right as a parent. It's not up to the government
- 1:26:51because the government is nothing but a political agenda.
- 1:26:54That's all the government is, is a political agenda.
- 1:26:57And we have to. We, we are not taking away the
- 1:27:00rights of parents, the ability of parents to be parents, just
- 1:27:04simply because we have a different agenda of where we
- 1:27:06want society going. So it sounds like you're not
- 1:27:09anti vaccine per SE, you're not saying you can't get vaccines if
- 1:27:12you want to, etcetera. You're just saying parents need
- 1:27:14to have the choice. Yes, I am not anti vaccine.
- 1:27:17You get to decide. I'm not taking a vaccine, I'm
- 1:27:20not putting that in my body. If it's my child, my child,
- 1:27:24that's not going in my child's body.
- 1:27:26We will be healthy. We will do all of those things,
- 1:27:29but I'm not putting that substance in my child's body.
- 1:27:32That's what I'm in favor of. And for you, if it's if you
- 1:27:36believe that everything is is all legitimate and you want to
- 1:27:39take those risks and you believe that it's more beneficial for
- 1:27:42you or your child, then that's your right to do that too.
- 1:27:45So I'm not anti vaccine. I'm anti vaccine for me and my
- 1:27:48family but not you and your family if that's what you
- 1:27:51decide. What about pregnancy resource
- 1:27:55centers and the pro-life issue? So right now California is
- 1:27:57spending money on abortion. It's disgusting.
- 1:27:59They're saying Gavin Newsom created this abortion
- 1:28:01destination state literally I'm going to pay for he set up
- 1:28:04billboards in other states in 2022 and he said we will pay for
- 1:28:08you to fly to California. We're going to pay for your
- 1:28:10abortion. And then California Democratic
- 1:28:12leadership is gone after pregnancy resource centers that
- 1:28:15are providing free confidential care to moms and babies in need.
- 1:28:19Free diaper papers, free pregnant, you know, prenatal
- 1:28:21care, all these things, you have to post abortion advertisements.
- 1:28:24This went to the Supreme Court, by the way.
- 1:28:27Becerra, who I think is on the ticket too, he's running for
- 1:28:31governor, too. He's crazy.
- 1:28:32He was the attorney general. He tried to force the pregnancy
- 1:28:34resources. Xavier Becerra tried to force
- 1:28:37pregnancy centers to do this. He lost in the Supreme Court.
- 1:28:40What's your view on all of this? So I support those in my county.
- 1:28:44I have spoken at their events. I have given money to them.
- 1:28:47The pregnancy resource centers. And it is, name one other
- 1:28:52elective surgery, elective medical procedure that taxpayers
- 1:28:57pay for. There's nothing.
- 1:29:00There's nothing. If you want a facelift, go get a
- 1:29:02facelift. But you're paying for it.
- 1:29:04Your insurance isn't going to pay for it.
- 1:29:05My taxpayer dollars are not going to pay for it.
- 1:29:08Healthcare. Why?
- 1:29:11Number one, it's not healthcare. I, I do not believe that an
- 1:29:15abortion is healthcare. We've been that's one of those
- 1:29:17play on words that of course I can't take healthcare away from
- 1:29:21someone, but it's not healthcare, it's birth control.
- 1:29:24You're using abortion as birth control.
- 1:29:27Why am I paying for your birth control if you.
- 1:29:29Want to pay for it? Fine.
- 1:29:30Absolutely, Absolutely. If you want to pay for it, fine.
- 1:29:34We unfortunately made it the law here.
- 1:29:36And if that's the way you're going to choose if, if, if
- 1:29:39you're not going to have the same beliefs as I am, that's OK.
- 1:29:42But I'm not paying. I'm not agreeing with yours and
- 1:29:44I'm not paying for your, for your decisions that there's,
- 1:29:48there will not be as a governor, I will not fund Planned
- 1:29:52Parenthood. There's, there's, and, and I
- 1:29:54know that Planned Parenthood is, is not all about just abortions.
- 1:29:58I know there's birth control and everything else, but why am I
- 1:30:01paying for your birth control? I mean, we have, we have plenty
- 1:30:04of resources available to, of birth control that I mean
- 1:30:08there's plenty of ways not to have a baby.
- 1:30:09The number one way is you don't have sex if you're not married
- 1:30:11and ready to have. A baby.
- 1:30:12Why aren't we talking about that?
- 1:30:13We don't talk about that We think people are animals when
- 1:30:15they're not they we have. Them we have them in school
- 1:30:18teaching 3rd graders how to have sex.
- 1:30:21It's very, very diabolical. It is that that's not going to
- 1:30:25happen with me as your governor. What, what, how is it going to
- 1:30:27work if your governor, sheriff, when you're dealing with a
- 1:30:31legislature that is likely going to be radically opposed to you
- 1:30:36and you're dealing with when it comes to abortion abortions
- 1:30:38right now enshrined in the state constitution?
- 1:30:41So you have this like block that the Democrats have just built
- 1:30:45this like, you know, iron box of all of these, quite frankly,
- 1:30:49many of them evils, right, and these agendas.
- 1:30:51But I control the budget and a constitutional right isn't
- 1:30:55something that is funded. We don't fund your
- 1:30:59constitutional rights. I firmly believe in the Second
- 1:31:02Amendment. It's my right to have an own
- 1:31:04guns. The government's not buying me
- 1:31:06guns. So why?
- 1:31:09Why isn't another what acclaimed constitutional right?
- 1:31:13Why is that being funded? It shouldn't be funded.
- 1:31:15And I mean, if we're and if you're going to say, if you're
- 1:31:18going to say and maybe, maybe maybe an agreement, if they're
- 1:31:22going to say that, you know, the legislature is going to say that
- 1:31:25they want this in the budget and they're not going to agree to
- 1:31:27anything else. It's like, OK, whatever you want
- 1:31:30for your mission. We're putting the same amount of
- 1:31:32money in the pregnancy centers that help women or help couples
- 1:31:37deal with maybe they weren't ready to have a baby, but now
- 1:31:41we're going to going to help them be successful.
- 1:31:43We're going to help them raise their child.
- 1:31:44We're going to help them with with medical and all those
- 1:31:47things and we'll put the same amount of money.
- 1:31:48Why is it nothing? And and that side is shunned and
- 1:31:53labeled called names, but the other side is funded.
- 1:31:57It doesn't make any sense How? Are you going to negotiate if
- 1:32:00your governor with the with with the crazies in Sacramento?
- 1:32:04I mean, how are you going to do it?
- 1:32:07I'm involved with them now anyway, and people don't like
- 1:32:10hearing this and they don't like to believe it because we're so
- 1:32:13broken. But I know that there's probably
- 1:32:16only about 20 seriously broken people in Sacramento.
- 1:32:22Unfortunately, they're the ones running everything.
- 1:32:24Yes, and the governor's office and the attorney general.
- 1:32:26You're saying you're saying a lot of the other people,
- 1:32:28including the Democrats, are are decent.
- 1:32:30They. Are middle of the road decent
- 1:32:31people that do not believe in the agenda.
- 1:32:33The problem is is they have no cover above them.
- 1:32:36They're and I tell them some of them I've told them you're not
- 1:32:39leaders, you're not doing what you were elected here to come
- 1:32:42and do and their answer is you have to get along.
- 1:32:45And if I can't help my constituents, if I don't go
- 1:32:49along with their agenda because I won't get the money or the
- 1:32:51help or my bills won't get passed.
- 1:32:53And it's it, it's it's like bully tactics kind of you that
- 1:32:59you support us or you're not getting anything.
- 1:33:01And if you go against us, we're going to destroy you.
- 1:33:03But it's only coming from a handful of people there, maybe
- 1:33:07less than 20. When you have a governor that is
- 1:33:12now on the page of sanity that we are not going to do these
- 1:33:17ridiculous things, then those middle of the road people have
- 1:33:20something to stand up to. They have something to help
- 1:33:23them. They will side with the
- 1:33:24Republicans. The Republicans will side with
- 1:33:25some of the moderate Democrats. And then you stand up to the 20
- 1:33:30that are making all of the rules and you just override them.
- 1:33:33And then you have a governor that supports you.
- 1:33:35There are plenty of Democrats in Sacramento that want safety for
- 1:33:39their families, that don't believe in indoctrination, that
- 1:33:41don't want forced vaccines. There are plenty of them.
- 1:33:45This this idea that Democrats have to hate Republicans and
- 1:33:48that we have to believe in everything on the Democrat side.
- 1:33:51If if you have to believe that you're, you know, a socialist
- 1:33:55just because you want to be a Democrat or say you're a
- 1:33:57Democrat is not true. There are plenty of middle of
- 1:34:00the road Democrats. If you become governor, can you
- 1:34:02say now that you would not fund abortions you're not going to
- 1:34:07use tax pay dollars for? Abortions.
- 1:34:08I most certainly could say that, yes.
- 1:34:10Thank you. I know lots of people are going
- 1:34:13to be excited to fight for your campaign because of that,
- 1:34:18because it's just of all the insults that have been levied
- 1:34:21against the people of California that we're now in complicit and
- 1:34:24bloodshed and we're paying for it and it's just deteriorating
- 1:34:27the state even more. It's just devastating.
- 1:34:29We're, we're supposedly broke. Well, we know we're broke.
- 1:34:33We're in debt. We have debt like you cannot
- 1:34:35believe the the state budget has the, the committee, the state
- 1:34:40Budget Office has said that the governor's budget is setting us
- 1:34:44up for failure for the next 5 years.
- 1:34:47And then to the point where they said that the next governor is
- 1:34:50going to fail, has no ability to operate government.
- 1:34:53Why would he do that? If he thought that a Democrat
- 1:34:55was going to win, he wouldn't. He knows I'm going to win and
- 1:34:58he's going to try and sabotage everything about state
- 1:35:01government. So we're broke, we're in debt in
- 1:35:06the millions, if not billions, where it's billions in debt, and
- 1:35:10yet he can miraculously come up with $100 million for abortions.
- 1:35:15And we're already funding through Medicaid, right?
- 1:35:18So why do you think you're going to win?
- 1:35:20You keep saying you're going to win.
- 1:35:21You know you're going to win. You believe you can win.
- 1:35:23The same, the same reason why we're seeing me it leading every
- 1:35:27poll because people are over it. People, even Democrats.
- 1:35:32Democrats have told me, I don't really believe in everything you
- 1:35:36say, but I know you have to win because we are broken.
- 1:35:40We are going in the wrong direction.
- 1:35:42There has to be drastic change. And I believe you're going to
- 1:35:45make the right decisions for California and then they'll
- 1:35:47throw out, but you can't do this and you can't do this, but we
- 1:35:50know you're going to make the right decisions for California.
- 1:35:53That's the people that are behind my campaign.
- 1:35:55It's not. It's not just the.
- 1:35:57Republican. You have Democrats.
- 1:36:00And independents, I've been endorsed already by the American
- 1:36:03Independent Party. So the, the middle of the road
- 1:36:06people know that I'm going to be the only one making this change.
- 1:36:09California, when you look at everything that's broken in
- 1:36:12California, crime is rampant. We are not safe here.
- 1:36:16Our kids aren't safe. Our businesses aren't safe.
- 1:36:18The homeless issues are just out off the hook.
- 1:36:21The drugs, the alcohol abuse, the mental health addiction, the
- 1:36:25those causing psychosis and seeing what we see in the
- 1:36:28streets, everything is broken about public safety.
- 1:36:31It's not necessarily safe. People don't feel safe in
- 1:36:33California anymore. Now combine that with what we're
- 1:36:36seeing that we're the most corrupt state in the country
- 1:36:39with the abuse of our money, the fraudulent abuse of our money,
- 1:36:41the stealing of our taxpayer money, the laundering through
- 1:36:44these nonprofits and Ng OS that are getting unbelievably wealthy
- 1:36:48and then getting the same people elected again with the money
- 1:36:51going in the back door. And they're looking for the rest
- 1:36:55of the state. The people that are propping me
- 1:36:58up in all of these polls want a sheriff to go in here and fix
- 1:37:01our state, go fix our public safety, make us make us safe and
- 1:37:05go stop the waste, the fraud, the abuse and the corruption in
- 1:37:08our state government. That's what they're looking for.
- 1:37:11And they, it's not even me saying it.
- 1:37:14They have 32 years of proof. I'm the only person on this
- 1:37:17ballot that is proof of concept. They can tell you anything they
- 1:37:21want. Democrats are proof.
- 1:37:22No Eric Swalwell ever had a job. I don't think.
- 1:37:25So it's being in, I don't think. And Katie Porter, what did she
- 1:37:28do? Yeah, I mean, she's kind.
- 1:37:30Of crazy to think about. She's a teacher or a professor
- 1:37:33or something. But.
- 1:37:35I'll use that as a poster child. In politics now for a decade,
- 1:37:38right, I mean. Yeah, and horrible at it.
- 1:37:41I mean, she didn't do a good job.
- 1:37:42She. Yells at her staff, right.
- 1:37:44She see if she was willing to come on the show.
- 1:37:46I'll ask her to explain that I asked you the tough questions
- 1:37:48about your thing that you know you get accused of.
- 1:37:50So we'll ask about those those questions if those folks will
- 1:37:53come in here. I'm as transparent as you can
- 1:37:55get. I mean, everyone.
- 1:37:56I've been through three elections for elections as as a
- 1:38:01sheriff. This is the fourth, you know, in
- 1:38:02state government. If there's anything bad about
- 1:38:04me, everybody knows it. There's nothing bad about me.
- 1:38:07It's it's going to be made-up. This whole thing, this, this
- 1:38:10concocted, fabricated story of the honest ethical leader has
- 1:38:18been concocted to attack that. So another Republican who's
- 1:38:22failing in his campaign, he can't go above me, so he's
- 1:38:25trying to lower me. I mean that that's really how it
- 1:38:28works. And in the campaign world, in
- 1:38:31politics, everyone knows that you only attack your opponent if
- 1:38:35you're losing. And so now we know that he's
- 1:38:37absolutely losing. He knows he's losing.
- 1:38:39So now he has to attack me. Even attacked Mayhem.
- 1:38:42Who do you think's going to be #2 if you're #1 on June 2nd, who
- 1:38:46do you think's going to be? Who do you think your your
- 1:38:47opponent is going to be this fall?
- 1:38:48If I if I had to say just off of the trajectory and how things
- 1:38:53are working in the polls, I would have to say Swalwell.
- 1:38:58I I can't. It's hard to imagine California
- 1:39:00voting for Swalwell over you, but we'll see.
- 1:39:02We'll see. Yeah, I don't think they will.
- 1:39:03I think when we get to policy and when we get to where it it,
- 1:39:06it truly is going to be one concept versus the other
- 1:39:11concept. I represent everything that
- 1:39:13Californians want different and he represents the status quo or
- 1:39:17worse. And so when I go into November,
- 1:39:20that's really going to be the difference is the Democrat
- 1:39:22policy in California is indefensible.
- 1:39:24There's not one thing that they can point to in California to
- 1:39:27say, look, we're a success, point to a city where they've
- 1:39:30been successful, point to point to the train to nowhere where
- 1:39:36they're successful. I mean, everything about the
- 1:39:38Democrat progressive agenda in California is a failure.
- 1:39:44And I represent everything opposite.
- 1:39:47And that's what the November elections going to be.
- 1:39:50So this June election is just making sure that I'm #1 or #2 I,
- 1:39:54we believe I'm going to be #1 just based off of numbers and
- 1:39:57who we think is going to vote for me.
- 1:39:59And then we'll worry about November when it comes to it.
- 1:40:01But when it comes down to picking between change and
- 1:40:05status quo? Worse, we think that
- 1:40:08Californians over it. I think we're ready for change
- 1:40:11in California. Sheriff Chad Bianco, thank you
- 1:40:14so much. How can people find your
- 1:40:15campaign and learn more about you?
