Baptism was a common practice in the culture of Jesus and the early church. It is something people saw often and realized what it meant. But in the eyes of many today, the Christian ritual of baptism is kind of a strange looking thing to do. Honestly, dunking someone under water in a pool, river or water tank inside a church building looks and feels odd.
