- 0:00This shit ain't nothing to me, man. That is a
- 0:29nice shirt, Leo. I really enjoy it. Good? Oh,
- 0:35man. Boxing before dark. Boxing before dark.
- 0:39Boxing before dark. If you say it three times,
- 0:42I'll appear in your room behind you. Oh, man.
- 0:47Well, I'm actually wearing my Inoue, my chibi
- 0:50Inoue shirt. You can check that out on lvx .be
- 0:57slash shop. It's super cute. I tried to replicate
- 1:02it with David Benavidez. Not as cute. Not as
- 1:08cute. It's not. But I tried my best. But, Shinada,
- 1:13how are you doing? How's Japan treating you this
- 1:16week? Actually, the weather is finally not fucking
- 1:20terrible. I think we're down to like 25, 27 highs.
- 1:27Which I much prefer over 35. I cannot wait until
- 1:31winter. I want it to be winter. I want it to
- 1:35be 5 degrees outside so I can wear long sleeves
- 1:38and not sweat when I walk to work. Although when
- 1:42I get to work, they'll have it 26 in the office
- 1:46because Japanese people have poor circulation.
- 1:50Man, I wish I got down to 5 here. I have to say,
- 1:59and I knew this would happen, I miss winter so
- 2:01badly, which sounds very stereotypical, but actual
- 2:05snow that you can go out and play in, I miss
- 2:08it so much. I enjoyed every winter. When I was
- 2:13in anywhere that had Winter Wonderland, I always
- 2:17enjoyed it. Yeah, I mean, the minus 30 sucks
- 2:22ass, but minus 10? Minus 10 is nice. I don't
- 2:27care what anyone says. You know what I think
- 2:34might be nice? Nakatani dropping his belts. Wait,
- 2:40you have something here for 1FC. Yeah, so I've
- 2:44been watching the Friday Night Fights. And there
- 2:47was one last night that was fucking awesome.
- 2:50And I'm going to butcher the names. But Folicit
- 2:54versus Redhoe was a war. I overemphasized the
- 3:01hoe, I'm sure. Redhoe. I would too, because it's
- 3:04funny. It was a war. It was great. Friday Night
- 3:09Fights, man. It's not MMA, which is a selling
- 3:13point. kickboxing or muay thai and they're on
- 3:17youtube for free and they're amazing even if
- 3:21you can't watch them at the time because it's
- 3:24not a bad time for me but i guess in america
- 3:26it's probably ass but you you should watch them
- 3:29like when you're bored on a tuesday or something
- 3:33i say it every week on uh ultimate effing casuals
- 3:38friday friday fights You are the one who convinced
- 3:43me, and I'm hooked now. I fucking love 1FC. I
- 3:47actually bought a ticket for their big November
- 3:49thing here in Tokyo. I get to see, what's his
- 3:55name? The Iron Man. Rod Tang. Yeah, I get to
- 3:59see Rod Tang. I know he's passed it and everything
- 4:01else, but I'm super excited about it. I would
- 4:03still be excited to see him. Yeah. I got ass
- 4:09tickets, but, you know. You're still going to
- 4:12be there. Yeah. Okay, now to Nakatani dropping
- 4:18his belts. Is this a sign he's moving up? Oh,
- 4:23that's 100 % what it is. Yeah, he dropped his
- 4:26belts because he's moving up. Now, one thing
- 4:29I will say that I really like is everybody complains
- 4:33about people holding belts hostages. Nakatani's
- 4:36not doing that at all. I, like... How do I put
- 4:42it? I like the straightforwardness of it. Like,
- 4:47yeah, I'm gonna move up in my next fight so you
- 4:49fuckers can fight over these belts now. I don't
- 4:53want them. I don't need them. Yeah. Nope. I'm
- 4:57gonna go get my big payday, get my ass kicked
- 4:59by Inoue. Alright, so you're gonna be riding
- 5:04for Inoue in that one? Yeah, of course. Oh, man,
- 5:07I was feeling the underdog with, uh... underdog's
- 5:10counterpunch yeah no i i don't think nakatani
- 5:16is as good as people think he is perhaps i i
- 5:21think nakatani's been fighting a lot of cans
- 5:24and has really built up the um the image yeah
- 5:29and i think he's really i do think he's good
- 5:31like really good but i don't i don't think he
- 5:35can beat in a way Inoue's just better. You're
- 5:41probably right. I'm going to go for Nakatani
- 5:44anyway, just because I've got to be a contrarian.
- 5:47Well, and he trains with Mexicans and stuff.
- 5:54Oh, so you didn't see this one. Crawford was
- 5:57pulled over. Do you know the story behind that?
- 6:02Not the whole story. I meant to go look it up
- 6:05and totally forgot to. I saw a little clip where
- 6:08the officer was telling him not to reach for
- 6:10a gun. That's all I saw. Did Crawford actually
- 6:16have guns in his vehicle? Because he likes guns.
- 6:19He owns lots of them. Yes, and he and all of
- 6:22his crew are licensed to carry. Yeah. I'm not
- 6:27saying it was illegal, but did he have guns in
- 6:30the car with him? Yeah, okay, okay. I meant to
- 6:33go look. Because if he's driving dangerously
- 6:37and has the back of the car filled with guns,
- 6:40I can see the cops being a little nervous. Yeah,
- 6:45that's pretty much what happened, was the cops
- 6:48were nervous, so they had to draw their weapons
- 6:50because they saw there was guns out in the open.
- 6:55like all right everybody slowly get out of the
- 6:57vehicle yeah i did see on like instagram and
- 7:04stuff people trying to make it a race thing i'm
- 7:07like dude even if you're white and driving dangerously
- 7:10and have guns like laying on the back seat the
- 7:15cops are gonna pull their weapons i've had american
- 7:18highway patrol pull their gun on me before like
- 7:22it's not a rare thing and I am the whitest of
- 7:27white ladies. Like... I've never had a cop pull
- 7:34their gun on me. Oh, fucking Border Patrol loves
- 7:38pulling their gun on people. Of course they do.
- 7:40Bunch of dicks. But no, I got... So when I first
- 7:46got my license, I'm aging myself terribly here.
- 7:49Montana didn't have speed limits yet. Montana
- 7:52was one of the last states to put in speed limits.
- 7:56So when I was 16, they didn't have a speed limit,
- 7:59and I came back to visit when I was, I think,
- 8:0319. I was at university, and they had put in
- 8:06speed limits, and I didn't realize, so I was
- 8:09driving too fast and got pulled over, which is
- 8:12fair. But the fucking cops there just pull their
- 8:17guns on everyone, I swear to God. They probably
- 8:20do. Anyways, I don't think the cop was particularly
- 8:26bad or hard on Crawford if he was driving the
- 8:30way it sounds like he was driving. Yeah, from
- 8:34what I gather as well, he was acting up. I kind
- 8:41of get it. He was just coming off of the big
- 8:43parade that they had. Totally in his honor. So,
- 8:47you know, you're riding on cloud nine. So you're
- 8:50acting up a little bit. I get it, but yeah. I
- 8:53get it, but getting pulled over is also not a
- 8:57surprise. Yeah, I get getting pulled over, too.
- 9:01At least he wasn't drinking and driving. Yeah,
- 9:04and everyone was licensed to carry firearms.
- 9:09Everyone had firearms on their person. Nobody
- 9:12made any fucking crazy moves. This thing got
- 9:16settled, and... I think the mayor of Omaha was
- 9:19like, oh, you know, just a routine situation.
- 9:25So. Yeah. Well, and I haven't seen Crawford overly
- 9:28complain about it. Yeah. Like I said, it was
- 9:31just like internet warriors. Like somebody. Something
- 9:35it's not. Yeah. Well, somebody was like, what
- 9:37do you get pulled over for? And there was like
- 9:40six comments of driving while black. And I'm
- 9:43like, I really don't think that's what it was,
- 9:44guys. But yeah, I get celebrating and driving
- 9:48like an asshole. I've done it before, too. But
- 9:50if you get pulled over, you get pulled over.
- 9:53And it's not surprising that the cops were nervous
- 9:56if everybody had guns. There was one out in the
- 9:59open. That was what started the whole nervousness
- 10:02to begin with. So, I don't know. I don't really
- 10:07see anything too wrong with it. On either side,
- 10:12really. Like, nobody got hurt. Yeah. It's fine.
- 10:17Crawford has the money to pay dangerous driving
- 10:19fines. Driving like an asshole fine? Yeah, well...
- 10:25I mean... If that's what you choose to do, you
- 10:29take the risk of having to pay for it. Mmm...
- 10:36Daigo Higa. Unsurprisingly, he unretired. Yeah.
- 10:45I was surprised when he announced his retirement.
- 10:49I am not surprised by this. Yeah, I think he
- 10:53just retired because he was tired of getting
- 10:55draws. I need somebody to call in and tell me
- 11:01what the record is for consecutive draws. Because
- 11:04I'm sure there's been quite a few people who
- 11:06have gotten two in a row. But if he gets three
- 11:08in a row, that has to be rare. Yeah. I might
- 11:14have to look into this as well, just to see.
- 11:18I also didn't see who he's unretiring to fight,
- 11:21or if he has a fight lined up, or if he just
- 11:24announced his... I just thought it was announcing
- 11:27unretirement. Yeah, I just mean, like, I can't
- 11:33even speculate who his opponent will be next,
- 11:37I don't think. Like, there's lots of options,
- 11:40but... I don't know if he has one lined up or
- 11:43anything. Ooh, bet he fights for a title. I mean,
- 11:48if your last fight was a draw for a title, and
- 11:52then a draw for a title, and then, or... Two
- 11:57title draws? Yeah. Who is it in the Discord fucking
- 12:02hates he getting title shots? He complains every
- 12:05time. I can't remember. I don't know. Is it Deuce?
- 12:08Deuce hates it. Deuce is like, why the fuck does
- 12:11this man keep getting shots? He's not that good.
- 12:16And I'm like... He's entertaining. He's always
- 12:20entertaining. And he's not that bad. No. Just
- 12:25unfortunately not having the best luck. Yeah.
- 12:33But I'm kind of happy. I'll watch Higa again.
- 12:36I like him. Yeah, I would gladly tune into his
- 12:39next fight. My fellow Urasoe Okinawa bro. And
- 12:47he hasn't looked bad yet. No, he hasn't. He does
- 12:52look like he's past his peak, but he's definitely
- 12:55not washed. Oh, it's not on the outline, but
- 13:00Ioka broke the top 10 in the rankings again,
- 13:03too. So I'm wondering who they're lining him
- 13:06up for. What? Speaking of older Japanese guys
- 13:11that are probably a little past it. Wait, who?
- 13:18Full name? Kasuto Ioka. Oh, I just completely
- 13:23misheard you. And I thought you meant like Tony
- 13:25Ioka, the French heavyweight. I was like, why
- 13:28would you know that? No, no, no. No, Ioka. Ioka,
- 13:32yeah. I can't remember which... It doesn't really
- 13:40matter. I can't remember which sanctioning body
- 13:43it was. He was number 9 again. Probably WBA then.
- 13:50He's number 9 again. Maybe I can go to a Higa
- 13:58Ioka card before I leave again. Out in Ota City.
- 14:04Oh, because, yeah, that's where they put their
- 14:06undesirables. Yeah. Oh, speaking of undesirable,
- 14:17Moses Itauma rejects an IBF eliminator. He rejected
- 14:23it. He rejected a final eliminator. He was going
- 14:27to fight Frank Sanchez, and if he won, he gets
- 14:30a shot at Usyk. And he turned it down. Frank
- 14:35Sanchez is a step up, but... Winnable, I think.
- 14:42Yeah, I don't follow the heavies like most people
- 14:46do, but I guess Itauma's maybe not as confident
- 14:51as everyone else is about Itauma. In his last
- 14:57fight, he said, when he sparked Dillian White,
- 15:00he had said, Everyone in the crowd was shouting,
- 15:03like, who do you want to fight next? And then
- 15:05the crowd was all shouting, Usyk, Usyk, Usyk.
- 15:08And he's like, yeah, everyone's saying that,
- 15:10but there's other guys who have earned that shot,
- 15:13and I kind of haven't. Yeah. He kind of did a
- 15:16little shrug. Like, I would if I had the chance,
- 15:21sure. But obviously he won't. Yeah. Because he
- 15:25turned down the eliminator. I didn't mind that
- 15:29speech, but, like... Maybe he's not very confident.
- 15:34Maybe this is going to be his downside. Like,
- 15:37he's got the skills, but no balls to take on
- 15:42the really tough challenges. Oh, I forgot to
- 15:47do this. Oh yeah, you gotta turn on your on -air
- 15:52sign so nobody interrupts. Yeah, well, Dogbert's
- 15:57the only one that'll do that. I think it's okay
- 16:02for him to reject it. The fight with Frank Sanchez,
- 16:08it's not a bad one. Is he at that level? Maybe
- 16:13not. But that's, I think, but also maybe. So
- 16:17it would have been a decent fight, but. Yeah,
- 16:22I'm just talking shit, I guess. But I like to
- 16:28see people challenge themselves. Like, Itauma
- 16:31hasn't had a hard fight yet. No, he hasn't. It's
- 16:37still... I think people are still protecting
- 16:41their O's a little too much. Less. Like, that
- 16:45whole thing's going away a bit. But you don't
- 16:49want to push people too fast either. I don't
- 16:52know. I don't know heavyweight stuff. I think
- 16:58it's alright. I also didn't know that Atom was
- 17:01born in Slovakia. Yeah. Him and his brother.
- 17:08Interesting. Alright. So who do you think he's
- 17:16gonna fight instead, then? Fuck, that's a good
- 17:19question. Let's have... Like, if he doesn't want
- 17:25to fight Sanchez, who's one step below that?
- 17:32Jared Anderson? Is Anderson still a name? I feel
- 17:38like he got found out really bad. He did. I don't
- 17:41think Jared Anderson will take that fight, to
- 17:44be honest. Justice Hooney. Maybe. He was soundly
- 17:52outboxing Fabio Wardley. Until he got absolutely
- 17:55fucking wrecked. I enjoyed that, actually. I
- 18:01didn't. I was on Team Hoonie. Anything to upset
- 18:06Lin? Yeah, fair. Yeah, I guess. I feel like Hoonie's
- 18:15a harder test than Sanchez, though. And there's
- 18:21no... belt -stangling in front of you. Kevin
- 18:28Lorena? Who had a buzzed hoonie as well. I don't
- 18:38know. I just feel like Frank Sanchez isn't that
- 18:40hard of a pest. Yeah, I don't think he is either.
- 18:43I feel like that was a really reasonable one
- 18:46that Atalma should have taken. Maybe I'm underestimating
- 18:55Frank Sanchez. Perhaps. He's a Cuban 33, so,
- 19:03you know. So 50. Yeah, he's considerably older.
- 19:08When he fought Aguit Caballel, he definitely
- 19:11did look the worst for wear. Yeah. Wait, I'm
- 19:17not saying Frank Sanchez is bad. I just mean,
- 19:20like, I think that's a reasonable fight for Atalma
- 19:22at this point. That's why I'm kind of surprised
- 19:25he rejected it. Hmm. What did the guys on B -side
- 19:30think about that? Yeah, it was like the no -needs
- 19:36-to -rush kind of thing. Atalma's still the second
- 19:39coming. But Josh wrote a piece on it. It's on
- 19:45the fucking Wayside Sports Review. That's up
- 19:52on LVXmedia .net. Check it out. I want to skip
- 20:00ahead really quick. So if Etaba is not going
- 20:03to take the Usyk Eliminator, who's next for Usyk?
- 20:07Now, I found this on social media, so it had
- 20:10some options already presented. Joseph Parker.
- 20:14Fabio Wardley, Tyson Fury, Jake Paul, other.
- 20:20Jake Paul's such a stupid fucking answer. I don't
- 20:23think Usyk's fighting Jake Paul. I would like
- 20:26for him to get paid. Yeah, I don't think Usyk
- 20:30cares that much about having more money. He wouldn't
- 20:34dishonor himself? I don't think so. Maybe I'm
- 20:38wrong. And it's a lot of money. And I... Can't
- 20:41overly judge people for taking a lot of money,
- 20:43but... Yeah. I mean, the only real good answer
- 20:48is Parker, right? Yeah, that's what Saul and
- 20:52I thought was Joseph Parker. Like... He's earned
- 20:58a shot. And he's been waiting. And Parker's been
- 21:03looking good. He deserves the shot. And I think
- 21:06Usyk beats him anyways, but... I mean... I think
- 21:09Joseph Parker should get his shot. It's a new
- 21:12wrinkle, right? It's a new type of, a new style
- 21:16of fight. Because Fabio Wardley, I would liken
- 21:21it to Dubois. I don't think Wardley has the skills
- 21:26to do anything. To hang? Yeah. And he's beat
- 21:33Fury twice. Fury does not deserve another shot.
- 21:37Yeah, seriously. Speaking of Usyk, has there
- 21:42been any news about the lawsuit? He's been getting...
- 21:48I don't know if he is sued, but somebody was
- 21:52investigating him because he asked for time before
- 21:56a defense because of a back injury, and then
- 21:58he had those videos of him dancing. Like, your
- 22:01back doesn't look very injured, man. Well, yes.
- 22:07to be dancing around in Ukrainian pop star videos,
- 22:13music videos, yeah, it's a little silly, but
- 22:18it's also not as physically taxing as professional
- 22:23training. It was the WBO that was wanting to
- 22:27investigate him. I'm not generally knocking him
- 22:31for it or anything. I just meant, like, I hadn't
- 22:33heard anything about the investigation. I haven't
- 22:36either. Usyk's also in a movie that's coming
- 22:40out soon. I've been seeing some actors talking
- 22:44about filming with him, and it sounds hilarious,
- 22:47as expected. The one that I saw was that he needs
- 22:51to be paid in cake to do anything. He didn't
- 22:56like having to be sprayed down with fake sweat
- 22:59and stuff, and they had to bribe him with cake.
- 23:08So, Usyk is becoming a real heavyweight, apparently,
- 23:12during his time off. Honestly, I said it before,
- 23:17I think he could retire now and still be the
- 23:20fucking, like, greatest of this generation, for
- 23:24sure. He already is the greatest of this generation.
- 23:27That's what I mean. Like if he retires now, there's
- 23:30no, there's take anything away from them. Yeah.
- 23:33If he wants to go film Hollywood movies and eat
- 23:36cake, I think he's earned it. One of the others
- 23:41that was in the Usyk who's next for Usyk post
- 23:45that I didn't include here on the list, but was
- 23:49included was Anthony Joshua. And I put that in
- 23:53the same category as Tyson Fury. He's also beat
- 23:55him twice. Exactly. There's nothing more to see
- 23:59here. Yeah. But I mentioned Anthony Joshua because
- 24:05who might be next for Anthony Joshua? He's got
- 24:09his comeback scheduled. And the options on the
- 24:13post I found this on, Jake Paul, Tony Yoka, Martin
- 24:18Bacoli, and I added... rematching Daniel Dubois.
- 24:23I don't think he should rematch Dubois. But...
- 24:28I'd like for him to fight Tony Yoka. That's what
- 24:31I came down with. I've heard some very convincing
- 24:34arguments for Tony Yoka. Yoka's also a little
- 24:38past it. It's a Britain versus France thing.
- 24:43They... Were they at the same Olympics? Or they
- 24:46won gold medals back -to -back or something?
- 24:49Yeah. like i i don't even know who tony yoka
- 24:54fucking is i honestly heavyweights are not my
- 24:57jam but i heard some convincing arguments that
- 25:00i'm like yeah i could see why people would want
- 25:02to see that fight and it might be fun if they're
- 25:05both a bit past it like for tony yoka to be past
- 25:11it though he has to have been been it yeah he
- 25:15has to have been it to begin with and he never
- 25:18was Fair enough. But still, all of the miscellaneous
- 25:25reasons do make it a compelling fight. I want
- 25:30to see it. Well, and I think AJ does need a bit
- 25:34of a confidence booster. Yep. So if he can get
- 25:39some money fighting Yoka, who's a bit of a name.
- 25:43Like, I have heard his name before. If Yoka's
- 25:47not much of a threat. Like, I think even Bacoli...
- 25:52Probably beats his ass. Well, not beats his ass,
- 25:56but has the chance of sparking him. AJ seems
- 25:59very sparkable now. Like... I don't know. Jake
- 26:08Paul would be a fucking joke. I think he beats
- 26:12Jake Paul like he did, uh... Francis Ngannou.
- 26:16I wouldn't mind seeing that, but I don't know.
- 26:21We've talked about Jake Paul a bunch. I don't
- 26:24like Jake Paul as a boxer. I don't like him getting
- 26:28to fight big names. I understand why it happens
- 26:32and stuff, but he doesn't deserve it. In my opinion.
- 26:38But Jake Paul's... choney is a really good promoter
- 26:43i don't dislike him in boxing anymore but i don't
- 26:47like him being in the ring i want him to just
- 26:50promote what's his promotion called most valuable
- 26:54yeah mvp sorry i got the hiccups i i want him
- 27:00to go promote fighters he seems good at it he
- 27:04seems to actually give a shit about the fighters.
- 27:08He's making his money in other places. He doesn't
- 27:10need to make it ripping them off. I mean, he
- 27:15basically runs women's boxing now. At this point,
- 27:18he's signed anyone who matters. Pretty much,
- 27:23yeah. Oh, that's a good segue. They announced
- 27:33Who gets into the Hall of Fame of boxing last
- 27:37week, I think. Yeah. And they had three women.
- 27:44I got to look up the other two. But the German
- 27:49lady, Christina Hammer, was on the list. I was
- 27:54happy she made the Hall of Fame. Is she on the
- 27:57ballot or is she in? I might have misunderstood.
- 28:03I think the ballots are out. Okay, I thought
- 28:06they were in. I thought they announced who was
- 28:08in. The ballots are out now and voting is through
- 28:13December. Okay, okay. I misunderstood the thing
- 28:18I listened to. I was listening to podcasts at
- 28:20work and just not paying that much attention,
- 28:24I guess. But Christina Hammer being on there,
- 28:27it's a good shout. I think Triple G made this
- 28:31one. Yeah. I obviously recognized everyone's
- 28:39name, but I just have such a shit memory. Sean
- 28:45Porter was on the list, I think. Okay. I could
- 28:52see him... I could see the argument for him making
- 28:55it. I don't know if I would. Vote him first ballot,
- 28:59but I need to see who else is on it. Yeah, I
- 29:06mentioned this and then have completely dropped
- 29:10the fucking ball on it. This annoys me. I'm not
- 29:15a huge feminist or anything, but it's super fucking
- 29:18hard to find the women in these articles. And
- 29:22I have to say, I really like Boxing Scene Today,
- 29:25the pro -box one. And they had a whole show,
- 29:29and this pissed me off. I would have rather they
- 29:33just didn't mention it at all. They talked for,
- 29:35like, 20 minutes about the men that were nominated,
- 29:37and literally their outro was saying the three
- 29:41women's names. Oh. I was like, oh, yeah, and
- 29:45these three women were also nominated. And I'm
- 29:48like, goddamn, guys. Like, it would have been
- 29:52less dismissive to just not bring them up. Yeah.
- 29:56Then to mention them as an afterthought. Yeah,
- 29:59that annoyed me. It annoyed me enough I left
- 30:04a comment that nobody's ever going to see on
- 30:06their YouTube. Okay, so here's the 2026 ones.
- 30:12Triple G. Vernon Forrest. Steve Collins. The
- 30:19Celtic Warrior. I recognize the name, but I don't
- 30:25remember why he's a name. Christina Hammer, Jackie
- 30:31Nava. Is Vernon Forrest the one that got shot?
- 30:36Like, he died fairly young. He got shot in a
- 30:39carjacking or something? I don't know. I might
- 30:47have the wrong guy. Not a carjacking, but a robbery.
- 30:54Someone robbed him in Atlanta and he fought back.
- 31:08Steve Bunce is in the broadcaster slot. I don't
- 31:15know who that is. He's the British dude. He does
- 31:18Box Nation. Oh, I do recognize that. Yeah, okay.
- 31:25He's a bald, older guy. I don't care for Steve
- 31:30Bunce. Anyway. Yeah, speaking of Hall of Fame,
- 31:36do you think AJ has the credentials to make the
- 31:39Hall of Fame? Because I don't. I think AJ will
- 31:46be in the Hall of Fame. He will make it, yes,
- 31:48but I don't think he should. I don't think he's
- 31:50as deserving as others. I think AJ is famous
- 31:58enough that his resume probably doesn't matter.
- 32:08Like, there's a lot of people in the Hall of
- 32:12Fame that are not the best boxers. True. That
- 32:15is very true. And this is true for any Hall of
- 32:18Fame. It's not just boxing. Like, if you are
- 32:22famous enough and personable enough or hated
- 32:26enough, you get in the Hall of Fame. It's not
- 32:30skill -based. It's... Yeah, it's not entirely
- 32:34in the ring. It's just... Yeah. That is the exact
- 32:40same argument I made last time when we were talking
- 32:42about Ricky Hatton. Right, and I think Ricky
- 32:47Hatton should be in the Hall of Fame, but I don't
- 32:51think he's the best British boxer. No, yeah.
- 32:55Like, those are two different arguments, Leo.
- 32:57Yes, I know. The Hall of Fame is not necessarily
- 33:02100 % merit -based, and I'm okay with that. I
- 33:07think that people with a big fan base should
- 33:10be in the Hall of Fame, and you can go see...
- 33:15their whatever their stuff uh years from now
- 33:20like I went to the hockey hall of fame and there's
- 33:25there's a lot of guys I wish were in there that
- 33:27will never be in there because I like the goons
- 33:30like so Donald Brashear is not gonna make the
- 33:36hockey hall of fame like he was famous for fighting
- 33:41That was his thing. That doesn't get you in the
- 33:43Hall of Fame. No, probably not. But there's me
- 33:48and a bunch of other people that would be excited
- 33:50to see his jersey hanging in there anyways. You
- 33:55know? And I think there's some boxers like that,
- 33:57too. Ricky Hatton has the resume. Maybe he lost
- 34:02every big fight, but he fought people. But I
- 34:08just... AJ's so famous. I think he deserves to
- 34:12be there anyways. He's done a lot for boxing
- 34:14outside of the ring. Oh, look at you making a
- 34:19case for him. And it's a good one. I was just
- 34:24thinking purely on his resume. Like Saul and
- 34:26I were talking, when we were talking about it,
- 34:28we were speaking purely on his resume. Like who's
- 34:31his best win, Vladimir Klitschko? And take away
- 34:36Klitschko, what else has he accomplished? I mean,
- 34:40he was a champion for a long period of time.
- 34:44Like, he held belts. Yeah. Heavyweight's not
- 34:49my forte. But I just think that AJ is famous
- 34:53enough and has enough fans, and he has been a
- 34:57good ambassador of the sport. And, like I said,
- 35:02the Hall of Fame, I don't think, is or should
- 35:05be purely merit -based. If you're... likable
- 35:10enough, you can get in the Hall of Fame. If it's
- 35:13purely merit -based, then what would... How many
- 35:16ballots would it take for Roberto Duran to have
- 35:20gotten in? Because he got his ass kicked by Ray
- 35:23Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Marvin Hagler. Yeah, like...
- 35:30But Duran obviously deserves to be in the Hall
- 35:34of Fame. Of course he does. Like, that's not
- 35:36a debate. But you're right. His resume, he's
- 35:42got a lot of losses. But again, I don't think
- 35:45that should matter. AJ has done enough for the
- 35:50sport at large that his thinner resume shouldn't
- 35:59hold him back too much. And how do I put this
- 36:04without sounding like an asshole? Getting in
- 36:07the Hall of Fame is great, but I mean, that also
- 36:12doesn't mean a whole bunch. It just means you've
- 36:15been recognized. But, like, there's some people
- 36:19in the Hall of Fame that I don't know who the
- 36:21fuck they are. True. And not just, like, because
- 36:26they're so old. Like, there's people the right
- 36:29generation that I should know who they are that
- 36:32I just don't. And there's some people that I
- 36:35wish were in there that aren't. Like, I think
- 36:38Mickey Ward deserves to be in the Hall of Fame,
- 36:41and I don't think he was ever voted in. I'm sure
- 36:44he has been at this point. I don't know. I know
- 36:48he went when Arturo Gatti was inducted. He went
- 36:55to the induction ceremony because Gatti was dead.
- 36:59Oh, he was inducted. In 2019. So my example is...
- 37:07But okay. It took to 2019. Yeah, but still using
- 37:12this example, like, Mickey Ward's resume is kind
- 37:15of shit. But nobody's mad he's in the Hall of
- 37:19Fame. Yeah. Or if they are, they can come fight
- 37:22me. Or you could call in and say, why is she
- 37:27wrong? 833 -589 -7637. I will meet you in a field
- 37:34and fight you if you tell me Mickey Ward doesn't
- 37:38deserve to be there. Because he does. But if
- 37:43Mickey Ward's in the Hall of Fame, AJ's resume's
- 37:45better. Yeah. Speaking of good resumes, the Thrilla
- 37:54in Manila. 50 years. I rewatched it. I rewatched
- 38:00it to celebrate. And, yeah. Still great? Quite
- 38:07thrilling. Very Manila -ing. Not a whole lot
- 38:14to say beyond that. It was fucking fantastic.
- 38:17I do know that the climate of Manila gets a lot
- 38:21of credit for Ali's win in that one. The heat
- 38:26and the humidity and the... Yeah. I don't think
- 38:32that's fair, but it gets brought up a lot. He
- 38:35was definitely in the fight, and he won a good
- 38:40number of rounds. I do think that was one of
- 38:45Ali's really maxed out stats, was being able
- 38:50to endure everything. Like, his ability to take
- 38:59punishment. And not just punches punishment,
- 39:07but endure the heat and the exhaustion. I do
- 39:15think that was one of Ali's greatest strengths.
- 39:19Do you think, if we look back, was Ali, or even
- 39:25Frasier for that matter, were they in... Like
- 39:29a men's fashion magazine? Like GQ? Ali was in
- 39:34many magazines. That's a good segue. Tsutsumi's
- 39:43fashion magazine articles and photoshoots are
- 39:48fucking great. I have built up a... persona for
- 39:54him that is probably so far off it's ridiculous
- 39:58but I just picture like high school Sutsumi looking
- 40:02at fashion magazines being like I want to do
- 40:06this and not being pretty enough to be a model
- 40:09because Asian men's models are pretty then I
- 40:13don't even think they're handsome they're just
- 40:15pretty men and uh Sutsumi definitely would have
- 40:20rather been a model than a boxer I think In my
- 40:23head, he joined boxing so he could be in a fashion
- 40:27magazine, which has happened. His dream has finally,
- 40:31like, fuck the titles, fuck the winning record,
- 40:35all of that. I've made it into a fashion magazine.
- 40:39My fan fiction is definitely this is his dream
- 40:43coming true. He talks about working in a secondhand
- 40:48store. uh in the article and how that really
- 40:52helped him improve his fashion his fashion is
- 40:55Canadian tuxedos half the time and somehow they
- 40:58work like he does look fashionable but it's a
- 41:01lot of denim on denim Anyways, it made me really
- 41:08happy. I was really happy for him that he got
- 41:11to be in this magazine. And he's had a couple
- 41:14professional photo shoots. And he keeps leaking
- 41:18the pictures. Not leaking, but sharing the pictures
- 41:21on Instagram. Are you going to get a copy of
- 41:23it? I have absolutely no idea how to do that.
- 41:29But maybe. If I see it in a store, I will definitely
- 41:33buy it. I've bought a couple magazines that had
- 41:37Inoue on the cover and stuff. If I see Tsutsumi
- 41:42in a magazine, I am definitely buying it. Well,
- 41:46anything more for Tsutsumi fangirling, thrill
- 41:55in Manila, Hall of Fame talk? No, I did change
- 42:01my Discord profile picture to my favorite Tsutsumi
- 42:06fashion mag picture. I don't know if you've seen
- 42:09it yet, Leo. It's only in SP. I do the server
- 42:14-specific ones, but you should go check it out.
- 42:17He's doing the blue steel with his hand on his
- 42:20face. Fucking great. Whatever makes him happy.

- 47:00but we do have some stuff coming up. October
- 47:0311th is going to be a busy day. Nice. Two cards.
- 47:09The first one, Matchroom on DAZN. This one's
- 47:13in Sheffield in the UK. Oh, David Allen is the
- 47:19headliner fighting Arslan Beck Makhmudov. The
- 47:24heavyweight's your favorite. Yeah, yeah. I don't
- 47:30know. I don't know how to feel about Dave Allen,
- 47:33to be honest. He's coming off some dynamite wins.
- 47:38He has looked good recently, I guess, against
- 47:42Johnny Fisher. I am happy Dave Allen is getting
- 47:49paid. Let's put it that way. Johnny Fisher, his
- 47:55father, Big John, he made it onto... So this
- 48:00podcast I listen to, it's called Last Podcast
- 48:04on the Left. They have like a smorgasbord of
- 48:09auxiliary content. Like one thing they do once
- 48:14a week. They host a live stream where they just
- 48:18watch like shit from social media and stuff.
- 48:22Yeah. Like every every week, a different host.
- 48:25It's they call it their mandate where they pick
- 48:27all the videos that they watch and then they
- 48:29all comment. So one of them, one of the guys,
- 48:32Henry, he picked a picture. He picked a video
- 48:34of he was doing. Is this guy a hero or a villain?
- 48:39And he picked Big John Fisher and and he was
- 48:43just eating bosh. Yeah. And they're like, they
- 48:49came out with he's a villain, but then later
- 48:51the next week. They should change that. They
- 48:54did. They revamped it. He's actually a good dude.
- 49:00I saw a while ago that Big John got on like regular
- 49:06TV and they were asking him about some, about
- 49:11how people were treating immigrants in Britain
- 49:14right now. And he was very serious, did not make
- 49:20it jokey at all, and was like... I really was
- 49:26a little surprised at how reasonable and good
- 49:30his take was. I kind of expected Big John to
- 49:33either make it a joke or be crazy right -wing
- 49:37a little bit. Yeah. For no reason, I guess. Because
- 49:42he wasn't. He was like, no, it has to be controlled,
- 49:46but people are here, and you should treat people
- 49:49like people, was basically his message. Yeah,
- 49:51everyone deserves respect. Yeah, I was like,
- 49:55fuck yes, man. Yeah, that's exactly what they
- 49:57brought up about him. Yeah, I had been pretty
- 50:01indifferent, I guess, to Big John, but after
- 50:04I saw that, I was like... Fuck it, yeah. Like,
- 50:07he seems like a good dude, actually. Yep. He's
- 50:10like, even if you don't think they should be
- 50:12here, they're still people. Like, so. And then
- 50:18he started going off about all the different,
- 50:20like, immigrant cuisines that he likes. Like,
- 50:23I like Chinese food, Indian food. Well, I mean,
- 50:28it's a good argument. The food is good. Yeah.
- 50:34That's Dave Allen, Arslanbek Mahmudov, Josh Padley,
- 50:38the electrician in our hearts. I do kind of have
- 50:44to cheer for Padley now. Yeah, he's a blue -collar
- 50:49guy. He finally got... Realizing his dream. Can't
- 50:56help it. Well, he finally got to quit his day
- 50:59job, right? Yeah, he did. Realizing his dream.
- 51:04Oh, but the other guy is from Herefordshire,
- 51:07and I used to have Hereford cattle, so. So Reese
- 51:12Bilotti is, you're riding with Reese Bilotti?
- 51:16No. But I would like to actually go visit Herefordshire.
- 51:25I loved Hereford cows, but that's a different
- 51:29podcast. Coming soon to Lux Media. Cows. Yeah.
- 51:37Shit at his farming takes. We can call my brother
- 51:41and ask him about the border stuff. How is your
- 51:45wheat this week? Actually, this year it's not
- 51:49great. It's going to be a tough year next year.
- 51:55Moving to the second card of the day. Matchroom
- 51:59again on DAZN. This one's at the Wells Fargo
- 52:03Center in Philadelphia. Nice. Is Isaac going?
- 52:08Yep. Nice. He's taking some first -timers, some
- 52:13boxing first -timers. Oh, that's exciting. Yeah.
- 52:17Picked a good fight to go to. At least the headline's
- 52:20awesome. Jaron Ennis. Luis Malima. I think he's
- 52:25unheralded. He should give Ennis some good work.
- 52:32Oh, I recognize Lima. It should be a good fight.
- 52:35I do think Boots probably wins. To me, it's not
- 52:41a matter of if. It's just like, how badly is
- 52:43he going to beat Lima? And I'm thinking like
- 52:488 -4, 9 -3. Yeah, I don't think he gets a knockout.
- 52:53Boots is not a knockout artist. From Angola.
- 53:01Lives in Portugal now. Might have to ride with
- 53:05the European. Wait, where is Angola? I just made
- 53:11myself sound stupid, didn't I? Angola is in Africa,
- 53:13but he lives in Portugal now. Okay. Other than
- 53:20that, this card is pretty fucking weak. Jesse
- 53:24Hart? Yeah. That can't be... It is the son of
- 53:28Jesse Hart. This is Jesse Hart, the second coming.
- 53:34Okay. Khalil Coe is a matchroom, I don't know,
- 53:40prospect, I guess, at 10 -1 -1. That could be
- 53:47a fun fight. Local Philly guy? Yeah. And Alexis
- 53:54Barillet versus Guido Vianello. I think Barillet
- 53:59is Canadian. Is he? Yeah. Ah, very French -Canadian.
- 54:08Look at his face, Leo. I know you can't see it.
- 54:12Holy shit. That is the most French -Canadian
- 54:17looking person on the planet. Verso Guido Vianello.
- 54:24How Italian does he look? Quite. France versus
- 54:30Italy. I don't know if Guido looks super Italian.
- 54:36Other than those three fights, I don't know who
- 54:38else is on this. We need to find somebody who
- 54:41speaks Quebecois because it's so fucking terrible.
- 54:49Isn't... Marlon? He's Filipino. Marlon is Filipino?
- 54:59Okay. I don't think there's any French Canadians.
- 55:05There's Canadians, but I don't think they're
- 55:07French Canadians. There is a French Canadian.
- 55:09I am just... It is at the tip of my tongue. I
- 55:14know there is one. Aiden's Ontario. I don't know.
- 55:22Somebody in there is... We'll have to find him
- 55:25so I can make fun of him. Get him to call in
- 55:28and drop some tabernax. Is it Vom? Vom's French.
- 55:38Okay. I knew he was a French speaker. Yeah. I
- 55:44asked him and they don't swear the same. Like
- 55:47at all. Yeah. I had asked somebody about that
- 55:51too. Because that's what's important. I don't
- 55:54know. Yeah, well, I find it funny because the
- 55:59Quebec swears are all church things. I can't
- 56:04remember the others. Yeah, I can't remember the
- 56:06others, but I know they're all church things.
- 56:10But what's the Canadian joke? Yeah, of course
- 56:14I speak French. Like, yes, no toaster. Quebec
- 56:20uses toaster for toaster. We know toaster. That's
- 56:27how they say toaster. Toaster. Yeah. We've got
- 56:31to phlegm it. You speak through your nose. Anyways,
- 56:38I guess enough shitting on Quebec people, but
- 56:41go Guido, I guess. We're riding with the Italian.
- 56:47Yeah, his name, I thought Guido was like a...
- 56:51I thought it was a slur. I thought so too. Yeah,
- 56:54I really didn't realize it was a name until I
- 56:57was embarrassingly old. I thought Guido was a
- 57:00slur. I thought Guido was a slur as well until
- 57:02I Guido Vianello. Now I know it's not. Well,
- 57:07it kind of is. Yeah, it still is in the West,
- 57:11in the US, and probably in Canada as well. It
- 57:13depends how you say it. Yeah. Yeah. But it became
- 57:18a slur because it was the most... Common name.
- 57:23Like calling all Chinese people like Chang. Oh,
- 57:29yeah. But sometimes you're just right. Yeah,
- 57:35you call them all Guido and chances are one of
- 57:39them is going to be named Guido. 10 % of the
- 57:41time, you're right. And that's how slurs are
- 57:45born. Well, anything more for Boots? No. Boots
- 57:51is going to win. When is Boots getting his belt
- 57:56shot? Well, if you count the IBO, he's getting
- 58:01one right now. Do we count the IBO? We do not
- 58:06count the IBO. Good question. He's on the wrong
- 58:13side of the promotional divide. Two of the belts
- 58:19are with... PBC with Fundora, who's fighting
- 58:23Keith Thurman for whatever reason. Keith Thurman
- 58:28needs to just retire. You're old. Xander Zayas
- 58:32at top rank has won. Which one am I missing?
- 58:37WBA. Terrence Crawford had it. He must have dropped
- 58:45it. Abbas Baru, the German guy. He's the one
- 58:51who has it now. Do you think he would fight Boots?
- 58:56For that kind of payout, probably. It's probably
- 59:00going to be a better payout than he's seen at
- 59:02this point in his career. But yeah, Beru is the
- 59:07one who stands out. He's like the weakest link
- 59:10of the three. Boots is listed as number one contender
- 59:15by the WBA that Beru has. Lovely. Because I think
- 59:22Virgil Ortiz and Sebastian Fedora are kind of
- 59:27lined up to fight that one out, aren't they?
- 59:31Not lined up as in anything signed, but that
- 59:34feels like it's going to happen. Or no? Wait
- 59:39a tick. Who has the IBF? Is that Murtazaliev?
- 59:44That's right. I forgot about him. Mertazaliev,
- 59:49Fundora, Zayas, and Baru. I don't... Mertazaliev
- 59:58might give Boots a shot. He's not listed very
- 1:00:01high in their rankings, though. Josh Kelly is
- 1:00:05the top of that one. He's also the top of the
- 1:00:10WBO. Wait, I'm not tripping, right? Zayas has
- 1:00:14the WBO? Yeah. Okay. But Josh Kelly is listed
- 1:00:19next. Yeah. Let me do this. Support for this
