- 0:01Speaker 1: The Autopen, I think is maybe one of the biggest
- 0:04Speaker 1: scandals that we've had in fifty to one hundred years.
- 0:07Speaker 1: This is a tremendous scandal. The people on the other
- 0:10Speaker 1: side of the Resolute Desk I know them, Lisa, the
- 0:14Speaker 1: Hall Group, and then No Good. I guarantee he knew
- 0:17Speaker 1: nothing about what he was saying. I guarantee it.
- 0:20Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning. It's nice to have you, whether it's
- 0:26Speaker 3: on the forty seven Morning Update. And here are the
- 0:28Speaker 3: big stories that we're talking about. First up, Center Ran
- 0:31Speaker 3: Paul has formally relaunched efforts to bring criminal charges against
- 0:36Speaker 3: doctor Anthony Fauci, connecting the initiative to the autopen questions
- 0:42Speaker 3: around Biden's pardons that included Anthony Fauci. This all relating
- 0:47Speaker 3: to gain a function research testimony and the Wuhan Institute
- 0:51Speaker 3: of Virology. We'll give you the latest on that in
- 0:54Speaker 3: just a second. Also, in a major move, the Supreme
- 0:58Speaker 3: Court has stepped in the President's planned to shut down
- 1:02Speaker 3: the Department of Education, returning educations back to the States,
- 1:08Speaker 3: and the left has gone completely unhinged. It's the forty
- 1:12Speaker 3: seven Morning Update, and it starts.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Right now story number one.
- 1:16Speaker 3: It is a major move that many of you listening
- 1:18Speaker 3: will be very excited about. Senator Ran Paul, the Republican
- 1:22Speaker 3: from Kentucky, has now reissued a criminal referral to the
- 1:26Speaker 3: Department of Justice concerning doctor Anthony Fauci, and it was
- 1:31Speaker 3: prompted by recent revelations about President Joe Biden's use of
- 1:36Speaker 3: an autopen to sign pardon documents, including doctor Anthony Fauci's.
- 1:42Speaker 3: What we know is that Senator Paul went to X
- 1:45Speaker 3: and said this today, I reissue my criminal referral of
- 1:49Speaker 3: doctor Anthony Fauci to Trump's DOJ. Perjury is a crime
- 1:54Speaker 3: and Fauci must be held accountable. Paul's argument is simple.
- 1:58Speaker 3: If Biden's autopen pardon is invalid, then the DOJ can
- 2:03Speaker 3: still pursue Fauci for perjury relating to his May twenty
- 2:07Speaker 3: twenty one Senate testimony about US funded gain of function
- 2:13Speaker 3: research in Wuhan. Now, Fauci originally testified that the NIH
- 2:20Speaker 3: never funded gain of function research at the Wuhan Institute
- 2:25Speaker 3: of Eurology. However, later emails surface suggesting otherwise, leading Senator
- 2:31Speaker 3: Paul to accuse Fauci of lying to Congress and lying
- 2:35Speaker 3: under oath. So what are the legal implications. Well, if
- 2:39Speaker 3: a pardon is invalidated by courts due to auto pen concerns,
- 2:44Speaker 3: Fauci could theoretically be prosecuted perjury before Congress, carries penalties
- 2:49Speaker 3: of up to five years in prison plus finds. There's
- 2:52Speaker 3: also another point here. Paul originally referred Fauci the DOJ
- 2:57Speaker 3: in July of twenty twenty three. That's how confident he
- 3:01Speaker 3: was in the case. After the House Coronavirus Committee released
- 3:05Speaker 3: the internal emails suggesting Fauci knew about the risky virus
- 3:09Speaker 3: research being done in Wuhan and our dollars going to
- 3:13Speaker 3: that institute. Now, Biden issued what was described as a
- 3:17Speaker 3: quote preemptive pardon of Fauci and other officials at the
- 3:22Speaker 3: end of his term, a move potentially undermined if courts
- 3:26Speaker 3: ruled that the Autopen signatures are in fact invalid. So
- 3:30Speaker 3: the bottom line is this Center Paul has formally relaunched
- 3:34Speaker 3: efforts to bring the criminal charges against Fauci, connecting the
- 3:38Speaker 3: initiative to the Autopen questions around Biden's pardons overall, and
- 3:43Speaker 3: the key is this whether or not these autopen signed
- 3:46Speaker 3: pardons hold up legally. Fauci's legal accountability now rests partially
- 3:51Speaker 3: on potential court challenges to those pardons and on interpretations
- 3:57Speaker 3: of what gain of function definitions are. Now here's one
- 4:00Speaker 3: other thing you need to know. Senator Paul says it's
- 4:03Speaker 3: nice that he actually is getting to work with the
- 4:05Speaker 3: Trump administration on this as the kriminal referral over Fauci
- 4:10Speaker 3: is ongoing.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Hey, Trump administration two point I was back in charge.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Are you hopeful that they actually get to the bottom
- 4:16Speaker 4: of COVID nineteen. You know, we're excited about the Trump
- 4:19Speaker 4: administration actually helping. We've been through several years of the
- 4:22Speaker 4: Biden administration actually trying to hide the ball, covering up
- 4:26Speaker 4: what had happened, obscuring the truth, and really refusing to
- 4:29Speaker 4: give any records concerning this. I've been trying for over
- 4:32Speaker 4: three years to get non classified records about the decision
- 4:36Speaker 4: to fund the research in wu On, and it's been denied.
- 4:39Speaker 4: But I can tell you under Secretary Kennedy, under Jay Baticharia,
- 4:43Speaker 4: the records are beginning to flow, and what we're discovering is, yes,
- 4:47Speaker 4: they did debate over whether or not it was gain
- 4:49Speaker 4: of function. Fauci said, everybody said it was not gain
- 4:52Speaker 4: of function. Well, we're going to forget to the bottom
- 4:55Speaker 4: of this, and ultimately doctor Faucie's going to need to
- 4:57Speaker 4: come back in and explain why he made this decision.
- 5:00Speaker 4: There ultimately will be an interview, either voluntarily or involuntarily.
- 5:05Speaker 4: If he won't come, he will have to come back
- 5:07Speaker 4: explain to the American people why he decided to fund
- 5:10Speaker 4: this research in China. This may be one of the
- 5:12Speaker 4: greatest medical errors in modern history, and he bears a
- 5:18Speaker 4: large part of the responsibility for this.
- 5:20Speaker 5: Sure and it doesn't stop with the D and I.
- 5:22Speaker 5: President Trump signing an executive order ending all the president
- 5:26Speaker 5: and all future federal funding of gain a function research
- 5:30Speaker 5: in for nations like China. Ron, what are your thoughts
- 5:36Speaker 5: on this executive order signed by the President?
- 5:39Speaker 4: You know, I think it's a great idea. It's going
- 5:41Speaker 4: to ultimately need to be followed up by changing the law.
- 5:44Speaker 4: I have a bipartisan bill that passed last session unanimously.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I'm going to pass it again out of committee as well,
- 5:51Speaker 4: and I'm hoping that we can make legislation occur. The
- 5:54Speaker 4: reason you need legislation is if one administration fixes it,
- 5:58Speaker 4: the next administration just come in and unfixes it or
- 6:01Speaker 4: takes away the reform. So really what we need to
- 6:04Speaker 4: do is have law, and we actually have some bipartisan
- 6:06Speaker 4: support for reform legislation. My legislation would let President Trump
- 6:11Speaker 4: create a commission or a council of scientists that would
- 6:15Speaker 4: oversee this. The reason you need a council to make
- 6:18Speaker 4: active decisions is people divine gain a function in different ways.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Anthony Fauci said, well, the reason the research and we
- 6:25Speaker 4: want didn't get extra scrutiny is he defined it as
- 6:28Speaker 4: not being gain a function. Now, almost everybody disagrees with him,
- 6:32Speaker 4: but that's what he did, is he defined away the problem.
- 6:35Speaker 3: And that is exactly why he's saying he's going to
- 6:38Speaker 3: have to come back before Congress. It's also the reason
- 6:40Speaker 3: why he's looking at the pardon and the autopen use
- 6:44Speaker 3: and Senator Paul making it clear that reissuing his criminal
- 6:47Speaker 3: referral to the Department of Justice for doctor Anthony Fauci
- 6:50Speaker 3: after his pardoner was confirmed to be issued by a
- 6:53Speaker 3: late night autopen is going to be a very interesting
- 6:56Speaker 3: story moving forward, and we're going to cover.
- 6:59Speaker 2: It for you, number two.
- 7:00Speaker 3: President Trump campaigned on getting education public education back to
- 7:05Speaker 3: the States and back to the local municipalities, and most importantly,
- 7:09Speaker 3: giving the power back to the parents to get their
- 7:12Speaker 3: kids the best education possible. He also said he was
- 7:15Speaker 3: going to shut down the Department of Education. Linda McMahon
- 7:19Speaker 3: had the job of doing exactly that, but the left
- 7:22Speaker 3: decided to step in with injunctions to stop her from
- 7:26Speaker 3: doing that job. Well, now the Supreme Court has come
- 7:29Speaker 3: down with their ruling. It was a six' three ruling
- 7:33Speaker 3: lifting a lower court injunction that had blocked the administration
- 7:37Speaker 3: from laying off about one thy four hundred, employees nearly
- 7:41Speaker 3: one third of The department Of education. Workforce this ruling
- 7:45Speaker 3: temporarily green Lights Donald Trump's march executive order directing The
- 7:50Speaker 3: secretary Of Education linda McMahon to quote take all necessary
- 7:55Speaker 3: steps to close the department to the fullest extent possible
- 7:59Speaker 3: via state of. Action, now six concertative justices allowed the
- 8:03Speaker 3: layoffs to proceed while litigation continues in the lower. Courts
- 8:08Speaker 3: Justice sotomayor Joined Atlanta kagan And jackson dissenting, strongly warning
- 8:14Speaker 3: that these decisions enable executive lawlessness as they described, it
- 8:17Speaker 3: and erodes the separation of powers by allowing a de
- 8:20Speaker 3: facto dismantling of a congressional agency via unilateral staffing. Cuts,
- 8:27Speaker 3: yes the left is all in to try to Stop
- 8:30Speaker 3: Donald trump from getting kids a better. Education, now The
- 8:33Speaker 3: High court paused this preliminary injunction that went into effect
- 8:37Speaker 3: by THE Us District, judge a judge who was A
- 8:40Speaker 3: biden appointee In, boston that ordered the employees be. Reinstated,
- 8:45Speaker 3: quote The United States Supreme court has headed a major
- 8:48Speaker 3: victory to parents and students across the country by declaring
- 8:53Speaker 3: The trump administration may proceed on returning the functions of
- 8:57Speaker 3: The department Of education back to The, states is What
- 9:01Speaker 3: Donald trump wrote in a post On True Social he
- 9:04Speaker 3: went on to, say, now with this Great Supreme court,
- 9:08Speaker 3: decision Our secretary Of, Education elena, McMahon may begin the
- 9:12Speaker 3: very important, process saying the federal government has been running
- 9:16Speaker 3: our education system into the, ground but we are going
- 9:19Speaker 3: to turn it all around by giving the power back
- 9:22Speaker 3: to the. People trump went on to, Say america's students
- 9:25Speaker 3: will be the, best be the, brightest and be the
- 9:28Speaker 3: most highly educated anywhere in the. World thank you to
- 9:31Speaker 3: The United States Supreme court now The Supreme court six
- 9:34Speaker 3: or three ruling came in that dispute that begins shortly
- 9:37Speaker 3: after The Education department On march the eleventh announcer reduction
- 9:41Speaker 3: of force involving oney three hundred and seventy eight. Employees
- 9:45Speaker 3: McMahon said in a news release that the staff reductions
- 9:47Speaker 3: reflected The department Of education's commitment to quote, efficiency, accountability
- 9:53Speaker 3: and ensuring that resources are directed where they matter most
- 9:56Speaker 3: to the, students to the, parents and to the. Teacher
- 10:00Speaker 3: trump issued that executive order nine days later that Instructed
- 10:04Speaker 3: man to take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure
- 10:07Speaker 3: of The department Of, education and On march twenty, first
- 10:10Speaker 3: he announced that the programs For students with special needs
- 10:14Speaker 3: and The Federal Student Loan portfolio would be transferred from
- 10:18Speaker 3: The department Of education to The department Of health And
- 10:20Speaker 3: Human services and The Small Business, administration. Respectively that is
- 10:24Speaker 3: when a group of twenty states in The district Of
- 10:27Speaker 3: columbia to public school districts and teachers' unions filed a
- 10:32Speaker 3: federal lawsuit In massachusetts arguing the staff reductions violated The
- 10:37Speaker 3: constitution and the federal laws governing administrative, agencies yet, again
- 10:42Speaker 3: putting the teachers' union ahead of the parents and most,
- 10:46Speaker 3: importantly the. Students Now secretary Of education McMahon put this
- 10:52Speaker 3: out On, acts, saying, quote today The Supreme court again
- 10:55Speaker 3: confirmed the. Obvious The president of The United states Of,
- 10:58Speaker 3: america as the head of the exact executive, branch has
- 11:00Speaker 3: the ultimate authority to make decisions about staffing, levels administrative,
- 11:05Speaker 3: organization and day to day operations of federal. Agencies while
- 11:09Speaker 3: today's ruling is a significant win for students and, families
- 11:13Speaker 3: it is a shame that the highest court in the
- 11:15Speaker 3: land had to step in to Allow President trump to
- 11:17Speaker 3: advance the Reforms americans elected him to deliver using the
- 11:21Speaker 3: authorities granted to him by OUR Us. Constitution she went
- 11:25Speaker 3: on to, say THE Us department Of education will now
- 11:28Speaker 3: deliver on its mandate to restore excellence In american. Education
- 11:33Speaker 3: we will carry out the reduction of force to promote
- 11:35Speaker 3: efficiency and, accountability and to ensure resources are directed where
- 11:40Speaker 3: they matter most to, students, parents and. Teachers as we
- 11:44Speaker 3: return education to The, States this administration will continue to
- 11:48Speaker 3: perform all statutory duties while empowering families and teachers by
- 11:53Speaker 3: reducing education bureaucracy yet, again The President United states Of
- 11:59Speaker 3: america not backing down and making sure That american students
- 12:03Speaker 3: have a chance to succeed instead of being in a
- 12:06Speaker 3: total failing system with a federal government that has done
- 12:10Speaker 3: anything but give them a great.
