- 0:00Speaker 1: Gas stoves. Yeah, they're controversial. Now. I don't know if
- 0:05Speaker 1: you know this, but Democrats believe that you shouldn't be
- 0:08Speaker 1: allowed to have one. Biden's consumers safety official has had
- 0:12Speaker 1: to come out now and claim that he does not
- 0:15Speaker 1: want to ban gas stoves after promoting it as a
- 0:18Speaker 1: real possibility because of the backlash, saying also, he doesn't
- 0:23Speaker 1: want to do it. However, okay, however, you're ready, it
- 0:29Speaker 1: may be a necessity. The Biden administration is officially considering
- 0:34Speaker 1: a ban on gas stoves in the US over concerns
- 0:37Speaker 1: about alleged harmful quote air pollutants released from the appliances.
- 0:42Speaker 1: According to a report, if you believe that I've got
- 0:47Speaker 1: some really good stuff to sell you, the far reaching
- 0:50Speaker 1: administration made this discovery quote by the US Consumer Product
- 0:58Speaker 1: Safety Commission and their commissioner, who stated that gas stove
- 1:03Speaker 1: appliances are a quote hidden hazard quote unquote. Any option
- 1:08Speaker 1: is on the table quote products that can't be made
- 1:12Speaker 1: safe can be banned. He stated that the agency was
- 1:16Speaker 1: considering placing at mission standards on appliances if they can
- 1:20Speaker 1: not ban the manufacturing or import of gas stoves. Bloomberg
- 1:25Speaker 1: reported yesterday they went on to say that they had
- 1:29Speaker 1: received significant backlash over the idea due to the approximately
- 1:33Speaker 1: forty percent of the Americans who use gas stoves in
- 1:37Speaker 1: their homes and the bureaucratic effort it would take to
- 1:41Speaker 1: apply those changes could be tough. Representative Gary Palmer, a
- 1:47Speaker 1: Republican from Alabama, said, over forty million American households use
- 1:52Speaker 1: gas stoves. This type of power should never have been
- 1:55Speaker 1: given to an unelected bureaucrat or bureaucrats in its time
- 2:00Speaker 1: for it to end. He tweeted this in response to
- 2:03Speaker 1: the idea from the Biden administration. After receiving heat from
- 2:07Speaker 1: Palmer and others on social media, the Agency commissioner backtracked
- 2:12Speaker 1: on the consideration, saying, quote, to be clear, the CPSC
- 2:17Speaker 1: isn't coming for anyone's gas stoves. Regulations apply to new products.
- 2:22Speaker 1: The Biden officials set in response, thanks for your interest.
- 2:26Speaker 1: For Americans to choose quote to switch from gas to electric,
- 2:32Speaker 1: there is support available. Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act,
- 2:37Speaker 1: which includes an eight hundred and forty dollar rebate. So
- 2:41Speaker 1: now we're bribing you to get off of fossil fuels.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Now you understand what this is really all about. The
- 2:47Speaker 1: Bloomberg Reports cited studies that indicate gas stoves emit toxins
- 2:51Speaker 1: such as nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and fine particles at
- 2:57Speaker 1: levels that are linked to respiratory illness, cardiovascular problems, cancer,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and other health conditions. The studies were from the Instuite
- 3:05Speaker 1: of Policy Integrity and the American Chemical Society. Recent peer
- 3:10Speaker 1: review research also showed the twelve percent of childhood asthma
- 3:13Speaker 1: case in the US were linked to gas stoves. The
- 3:17Speaker 1: outlet noted Washington based trade group representing various gas manufacturers
- 3:23Speaker 1: such as Whirlpool, is opposed to a nationwide ban on
- 3:26Speaker 1: gas stoves, noting that any type of cooking stove or
- 3:29Speaker 1: appliance will produce harmful at missions, they said, it's not
- 3:32Speaker 1: the gas stove that's the problem. It's ventilation is really
- 3:35Speaker 1: where the discussion should be. Rather than banning one particular
- 3:39Speaker 1: type of technology, banning one type of cooking appliance is
- 3:44Speaker 1: not going to address the concern about overall indoor air
- 3:47Speaker 1: quality quote unquote. We may need some behavioral change. We
- 3:52Speaker 1: may need people to turn on their hoods when cooking.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Near the end of December, multiple Democrat represents and senator
- 4:01Speaker 1: sent a letter to the chairman asking the agency to
- 4:04Speaker 1: take action against gas stoves, setting black, Latino and low
- 4:11Speaker 1: income households experienced disproportionate air pollution compared to other households.
- 4:18Speaker 1: The letter, turning it into a racial issue, was sent
- 4:20Speaker 1: by Corey Booker, Elizabeth Warren, Don Bayer, Ted lu and
- 4:26Speaker 1: multiple other Democrat congressional members. I mean, I still have
- 4:31Speaker 1: a hard time figuring this kind of crap out, I
- 4:34Speaker 1: really do. It's just shocking to me that this is
- 4:41Speaker 1: what they are working on. Like, they're really working on this.
- 4:44Speaker 1: They spent time on this, they spent hours, They had
- 4:51Speaker 1: meetings in washing in DC about all right, let's all
- 4:53Speaker 1: sign on to this letter demanding this. It's just sad.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I mean, for me, I'm really just shocked by it
- 5:04Speaker 1: because I understand politics really well. I don't understand where
- 5:08Speaker 1: they thought this was an upside. And then I realize
- 5:12Speaker 1: I'm not dealing with rational people. They're trying to figure
- 5:15Speaker 1: out a way to ban fossil fuels, a natural gas
- 5:20Speaker 1: coming to your house. If they can get rid of
- 5:22Speaker 1: all those lines, that's a quote victory for them, right,
- 5:27Speaker 1: Like this is a this is a big victory for them. Now,
- 5:33Speaker 1: this is a ventilation issue if anything, And there are still,
- 5:37Speaker 1: as they said, things that air quality, things that get
- 5:40Speaker 1: in the air, even if you are cooking on electricity,
- 5:46Speaker 1: if you're burning something to smoke, if you are cooking
- 5:49Speaker 1: on high heat. Right, the particles that go in the
- 5:52Speaker 1: air from the pan, that go from the food while
- 5:54Speaker 1: you're cooking, the oil or the butter that you're using,
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's a ventilation issue. But they they didn't want to
- 6:00Speaker 1: do that, right, They didn't want to talk about it
- 6:02Speaker 1: from that perspective. They want to use it as an
- 6:07Speaker 1: opportunity to say, in America again, its supposed to be
- 6:10Speaker 1: the freest country in the world, We're gonna ban your
- 6:13Speaker 1: gas stove. A lot of people started putting up memes
- 6:16Speaker 1: of their gas stove saying, my gas stove identifies as
- 6:20Speaker 1: electric or come and take it now. I would laugh
- 6:26Speaker 1: at this story two years ago. I probably wouldn't even
- 6:30Speaker 1: spend the time talking about it. I might mention it
- 6:32Speaker 1: as a in the you know, a bunch of idiots
- 6:35Speaker 1: in Washington said this today. Right, I might do that, okay,
- 6:39Speaker 1: but I sure as hell wouldn't spend ten minutes on it.
- 6:44Speaker 1: But now I know what can happen because of the
- 6:47Speaker 1: COVID lockdowns. I understand that people lost their jobs over
- 6:52Speaker 1: not getting vaccinated. I understand that the entire country was
- 6:55Speaker 1: shut down. I understand they shut down schools for years, businesses.
- 6:59Speaker 1: They said you couldn't eat six feet apart from each other, right, remember,
- 7:02Speaker 1: you couldn't eat with people from another household that didn't
- 7:04Speaker 1: live with you. I mean, the insanity of the COVID
- 7:09Speaker 1: regulations were truly out of control, and the things that
- 7:13Speaker 1: they put on people that people complied with. Now, it's like,
- 7:15Speaker 1: when this kind of stuff happens, you have to talk
- 7:18Speaker 1: about it, and you have to rally the troops, and
- 7:20Speaker 1: you have to explain why it's so crazy, because otherwise
- 7:23Speaker 1: I do believe that things like this will a hundred
- 7:26Speaker 1: percent come to reality. Or one day you're gonna wake up,
- 7:29Speaker 1: you're gonna be touring a house, or your stove's gonna
- 7:31Speaker 1: go out and you're not gonna be able to buy
- 7:33Speaker 1: a gas stove. Now you go back to the money,
- 7:36Speaker 1: and it's always about following the money. They're like, well,
- 7:39Speaker 1: there's an eight hundred and what was eight and forty
- 7:42Speaker 1: dollars eight hundred and fifty dollar you know, moment here
- 7:46Speaker 1: that you know, they said, well, you can't get your
- 7:48Speaker 1: money in a rebate, so you'll put an electric I mean,
- 7:52Speaker 1: this is the President, Joe Biden's Consumer Product Safety Commissioner
- 7:57Speaker 1: telling you that the reality is you just need to
- 8:01Speaker 1: do this, and you need to do it, and if
- 8:04Speaker 1: you don't do it, it's gonna you know, people are
- 8:06Speaker 1: gonna die. That's what they're now always going with. I'll
- 8:09Speaker 1: never give up my gas stove. Ronnie Jackson, Congressman said,
- 8:13Speaker 1: if the Many Acts and the White House come to
- 8:15Speaker 1: for my stove, they can pry it for my cold
- 8:18Speaker 1: dead hands, come and take it. He tweeted, gas stoves
- 8:22Speaker 1: for me, for me, but not for thee or. Another
- 8:24Speaker 1: popular account lives of TikTok sharing photos of Democrats with
- 8:29Speaker 1: gas stoves in their homes. One of them is Kamala Harris.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Another one with them was Joe Biden cooking over gas.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Another one is AOC cooking it with gas, and another
- 8:39Speaker 1: one was Elizabeth Warren cooking with gas. All of these idiots,
- 8:45Speaker 1: but hey for them, right, it's all about quote safety.
- 8:50Speaker 1: To be clear, I'm not looking to ban gas stoves, right,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I just am trying to get this air quality where
- 8:55Speaker 1: it needs to be. The President does not support banning
- 8:58Speaker 1: gas stoves, and the Consumer Products Safety Commission, which is independent,
- 9:02Speaker 1: it is not banning gas stoves, the White House Press
- 9:04Speaker 1: Secretary said during the Daily White House Press Briefing on Wednesday,
- 9:07Speaker 1: after massive backlash, Usually they'll say these things. They'll float
- 9:12Speaker 1: it and they won't stop, They'll keep going. That's how
- 9:16Speaker 1: this usually works. This was, as I would describe it,
- 9:20Speaker 1: phase one, right, I mean, I mean, really, that's what
- 9:23Speaker 1: this is. This is phase one, and then they'll go
- 9:27Speaker 1: into phase two. That's how this works. They float it,
- 9:33Speaker 1: they kind of get a pulse. Then they figure out
- 9:36Speaker 1: what people's reaction is, they figure out what people how
- 9:39Speaker 1: they're going to respond to it. They then decide how
- 9:43Speaker 1: they're going to really respond to it with the next phase.
- 9:48Speaker 1: This is not going to end today. As my point,
- 9:51Speaker 1: this is the beginning. If there's anything I know about Democrats,
- 9:53Speaker 1: they play the long game. We've got new news on
- 9:58Speaker 1: the documents. Foul o, my o, my, were these some
- 10:02Speaker 1: pretty interesting documents, these documents, and as I mentioned yesterday,
- 10:07Speaker 1: we have a special counsel that is going to be
- 10:09Speaker 1: investigating the handling of these classified documents. By then, the
- 10:13Speaker 1: Vice President Joe Biden. The Attorney General Garland assigned a
- 10:16Speaker 1: special council to investigate it because now we have three
- 10:20Speaker 1: locations that we know of where these documents were. The
- 10:24Speaker 1: Attorney General announced his decision Thursday to appoint that special
- 10:27Speaker 1: council to investigate Joe Biden after these classified documents from
- 10:30Speaker 1: his time as the vice president and Barack Obama's administration
- 10:34Speaker 1: were found in his possession, which he's not allowed to have.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Garland said, I concluded that under the Special Council regulations,
- 10:42Speaker 1: it was in the public interest to appoint a special counsel.
- 10:45Speaker 1: He announced. The former years Attorney for Maryland, Robert Her,
- 10:48Speaker 1: appointed by former President Trump to investigate Biden, is the man.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Mister Her has a long and distinguished career as a prosecutor,
- 10:58Speaker 1: Garland said, adding that I want sure that mister Her
- 11:00Speaker 1: receives all the resources he needs to conduct his work.
- 11:03Speaker 1: The Attorney General laid out the timeline for the Justice
- 11:06Speaker 1: Department's handling of the investigation, revealing that the investigation was
- 11:09Speaker 1: well underway before it was reported on Tuesday. Garland recounted
- 11:15Speaker 1: that he was first notified a Biden's possession of classified
- 11:18Speaker 1: documents on the evening of November the fourth, which were
- 11:22Speaker 1: found by his quote lawyer in his office at Penn
- 11:25Speaker 1: Biden Center. I don't buy that for a second. It's
- 11:27Speaker 1: before the election. Man. In't amazing how that didn't leak out.
- 11:31Speaker 1: On November the ninth, Garland revealed the FBI began an
- 11:34Speaker 1: investigation as to whether classified information was found in Biden's
- 11:37Speaker 1: possession had been illegally mishandled. Man. I sure did wait
- 11:41Speaker 1: till the election day for that, didn't they. Garland also
- 11:44Speaker 1: said that on November the fourteenth, wow, just right after
- 11:47Speaker 1: the election, he assigned the US attorney to conduct an
- 11:51Speaker 1: initial investigation of the present for the documents found at
- 11:54Speaker 1: the Penn Biden Center. He also revealed that Joe Biden's
- 11:57Speaker 1: attorney then notified them on December the twentieth, right before Christmas,
- 12:02Speaker 1: about the classified documents found in his garage. Then the
- 12:07Speaker 1: FBI was sent to secure those documents. President Joe Biden's counsel,
- 12:12Speaker 1: Richards Saber set in a statement that Biden's possession of
- 12:16Speaker 1: the classified documents was quote a mistake quote unquote, and
- 12:21Speaker 1: that the documents were inadvertently misplaced quote unquote. We have
- 12:26Speaker 1: cooperated fully with the Justice Department throughout its review, and
- 12:29Speaker 1: we will continue to cooperate with the special counsel. He wrote.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Now they're trying to say in their defense as well,
- 12:35Speaker 1: we've done it right. That's what they're now saying. All right,
- 12:38Speaker 1: we've done it right. We did all of it right. Okay,
- 12:42Speaker 1: so you need to give us like some credit for
- 12:46Speaker 1: us doing it right. You should be proud of us
- 12:49Speaker 1: for doing it right. We did this amazing thing. We
- 12:54Speaker 1: did these documents the right way. There is no right
- 12:58Speaker 1: way to do this, Okay, when you're not supposed to
- 13:01Speaker 1: have classified documents and you've had them for years. If
- 13:04Speaker 1: that is what you're now saying, your defense is, that's
- 13:06Speaker 1: a bad defense. Now, the interesting point about the special
- 13:10Speaker 1: Counsel Robert Herm is that we now know that he
- 13:13Speaker 1: worked with Rob Rosenstein. The special counsel. You heard that
- 13:17Speaker 1: he was appointed by Trump really doesn't mean anything, unfortunately,
- 13:21Speaker 1: so you understand and center Ted Cruz and I talked
- 13:24Speaker 1: about this yesterday. Donald Trump did not do a very
- 13:29Speaker 1: good job of vetting the people he gave power to.
- 13:32Speaker 1: A great example of that as Rob Rosenstein, who was
- 13:34Speaker 1: actually given his power by Donald Trump, and then he
- 13:38Speaker 1: became like the perfect deep state James Comey s guy,
- 13:45Speaker 1: so he didn't take and his team didn't do adequate
- 13:49Speaker 1: dives on the people before they gave them power, and
- 13:52Speaker 1: that came back to bite them in the rear end,
- 13:54Speaker 1: like for their entire presidency. So just because you hear
- 13:59Speaker 1: that this special counsel Robert Hrr worked with Rod Rosenstein,
- 14:03Speaker 1: does not with Donald Trump or was appointed by Donald Trump,
- 14:06Speaker 1: you really shouldn't take a big sigh of relief from that,
- 14:11Speaker 1: because again Rod Rosenstein, one of the worst deep staters ever,
- 14:15Speaker 1: was given his power by Donald Trump and this guy
- 14:18Speaker 1: worked for him. Now Robert Herr, appointed by Garland, also
- 14:23Speaker 1: tells me that maybe he's you know, right of maybe
- 14:27Speaker 1: left of center. Where Garland was not going to give
- 14:30Speaker 1: you a hardcore conservative prosecutor, he did need to check
- 14:33Speaker 1: a box so he could say, hey, look, I picked
- 14:35Speaker 1: a guy that Trump picked. So everybody calmed down. But
- 14:38Speaker 1: Garland's probe and a President Joe Biden's mishandling of the
- 14:41Speaker 1: classified information, he had no choice because he just did
- 14:44Speaker 1: this a Trump and it was among those at the
- 14:46Speaker 1: Justice Department who had knowledge about the Russian hoax perpetrated
- 14:51Speaker 1: on former President Donald Trump that we do know about
- 14:55Speaker 1: Robert Herr. In fact, according to a Justice Department document,
- 14:59Speaker 1: Listening carefully, her is a former DOJ official who quote handled,
- 15:05Speaker 1: participated in, or had personal knowledge of the FBI's relationship
- 15:13Speaker 1: and communications with Christopher Steele, who authored the infamous Steele
- 15:19Speaker 1: dossier that paved the way for the Russian hoax and
- 15:22Speaker 1: the impeachment of Donald Trump. This is the own Justice
- 15:26Speaker 1: Department document that names her as one of those who handled,
- 15:29Speaker 1: participated in, or had personal knowledge of the FBI's relationship
- 15:33Speaker 1: and communication with Chris Steele. Robert Herr was also among
- 15:37Speaker 1: those that not only were involved in that, but apparently
- 15:41Speaker 1: we're involved in where the investigation went. So to recap
- 15:45Speaker 1: for you, this newly appointed special Counsel, Robert Herr was
- 15:48Speaker 1: a former Trump appointee. That's what Democrats want you to know.
- 15:52Speaker 1: A US attorney, you also worked for Deputy Attorney General
- 15:55Speaker 1: Rod Rosenstein during Robert Mueller's investigation, and also worked now
- 16:00Speaker 1: under the FBI Director Ray at the DOJ. So if
- 16:03Speaker 1: you think this guy is, you know, one of us,
- 16:06Speaker 1: probably not. Her began his career by clerking for the
- 16:10Speaker 1: late Chief Justice Rinquist after graduating from Harvard and Stanford.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Her was then hired as the principal Associate Deputy Attorney General,
- 16:18Speaker 1: serving as the top aide to Rod Rosenstein, the mastermind
- 16:22Speaker 1: behind impeachment of Donald Trump and the investigation the Russian Doskier.
- 16:26Speaker 1: When they knew the entire time they were investigating it
- 16:29Speaker 1: that it was user generated from the Democratic National Committee
- 16:32Speaker 1: and Hillary Clinton's campaign, they knew it was a lie.
- 16:35Speaker 1: It wasn't real. So he served as the top aide
- 16:38Speaker 1: to Rod Rosenstein, the Deputy Attorney General under President Donald Trump.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Before that, he'd also been special assistant to Christopher Ray,
- 16:47Speaker 1: who was leading to Justice Department's criminal investigation at the time,
- 16:51Speaker 1: and went on to become the FBI director. All of this,
- 16:54Speaker 1: by the way, according to Washington Post liberal newspaper, Rosenstein
- 16:58Speaker 1: announced her appointment press release, praising him as having experience
- 17:02Speaker 1: and judgment that will advance our effort to deter crime,
- 17:06Speaker 1: promote the rule of law, and ensure equal justice for everyone.
- 17:10Speaker 1: In twenty eighteen, two years into his presidency, Donald Trump
- 17:14Speaker 1: nominated her to lead the Maryland unanimously confirmed by the
- 17:18Speaker 1: Senate in March of that year. Under her direction at
- 17:22Speaker 1: the Maryland US Attorney's Office, he brought and resolved charges
- 17:25Speaker 1: for corruption and are fraught against dozens of elected officials,
- 17:29Speaker 1: public officeholders, and public employees. Again this according to the
- 17:33Speaker 1: Justice Department's press release. During her service the Maryland US
- 17:37Speaker 1: Attorney's Office was reportedly one of the busiest in the nation.
- 17:41Speaker 1: He prosecuted a case of a former National Security Agency
- 17:44Speaker 1: contractor who allegedly stole classified information from the federal government.
- 17:50Speaker 1: The theft was reportedly the largest of classified documents in
- 17:54Speaker 1: US history, So he has a lot of you know,
- 17:58Speaker 1: experience with classified doubt document cases. And just in February
- 18:03Speaker 1: of last year, her to part of the US Attorney's
- 18:06Speaker 1: Office and joined the Global legal office of Gibson, Dunn
- 18:09Speaker 1: and Crutcher, which handles white collar crime issues and regulatory matters.
- 18:14Speaker 1: The law firm employees eighteen hundred lawyers and twenty offices
- 18:17Speaker 1: of major cities throughout the United States of America, Europe,
- 18:20Speaker 1: and the Middle East, Asia South Africa. Its website states
- 18:24Speaker 1: HER's appointment as a special prosecutor on Thursday comes as
- 18:27Speaker 1: Republicans have slam Biden's double standard of justice. Two weeks
- 18:31Speaker 1: after Biden's classified documents were unearthed at the Penn Biden center,
- 18:35Speaker 1: Garland named special council to investigate Trump, not Biden. So
- 18:39Speaker 1: again they named a special prosecutor to investigate Trump, two
- 18:44Speaker 1: weeks after they knew that these documents have been found
- 18:47Speaker 1: at the University of Penn. So if you don't think
- 18:50Speaker 1: the game's rigged and fixed, you're an idiot. The Attorney General,
- 18:54Speaker 1: Merrick Garland, who knew about it, actually named a special
- 18:56Speaker 1: counsel not to investigate Biden, but to investigate Donald Trump.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Garland now forced into a corner. He was forced into
- 19:05Speaker 1: a corner as he made the announcement. Now a lot
- 19:06Speaker 1: of you did not get to hear that announcement, and
- 19:08Speaker 1: I want to play it for you, and you can
- 19:12Speaker 1: hear just in the voice of Garland. It was basically
- 19:16Speaker 1: like a hostage video. This happened yesterday mid morning round
- 19:22Speaker 1: what time was it, rounds noon, eleven forty five, And
- 19:27Speaker 1: this is the official announcement coming from the Department of Justice.
- 19:31Speaker 1: No questions asked afterwards. So you understand and listen carefully
- 19:35Speaker 1: of the timeline. And here they could have disclosed as
- 19:38Speaker 1: to you before the midterm elections, and they deliberately chose
- 19:41Speaker 1: not to because they knew that it could effect the elections.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Take a listen again the announcement from Garland appointing Robert
- 19:49Speaker 1: her as a special counsel for the Biden documents. Now
- 19:51Speaker 1: three different locations that we know of where these documents
- 19:55Speaker 1: have been found. I'm here today to announce the appointment
- 19:58Speaker 1: of Robert Her as a special council pursuing a Department
- 20:03Speaker 1: of Justice regulations governing such matters. In keeping with those regulations,
- 20:07Speaker 1: I have today notified the designated members of each House
- 20:10Speaker 1: of Congress of the appointment. I'm joined today by John Lausch,
- 20:14Speaker 1: the US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, who
- 20:17Speaker 1: conducted the initial investigation into the matter that I will
- 20:21Speaker 1: describe today. On the evening of November fourth, twenty twenty two,
- 20:26Speaker 1: the National Archives Office of Inspector General contacted a prosecutor
- 20:30Speaker 1: at the Department of Justice. It informed him that the
- 20:34Speaker 1: White House had notified the Archives that documents bearing classification
- 20:38Speaker 1: markings were identified at the office of the Penn Biden
- 20:41Speaker 1: Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, located in Washington, d C.
- 20:47Speaker 1: That office was not authorized for storage or classified at documents.
- 20:52Speaker 1: The prosecutor was also advised that those documents had been
- 20:54Speaker 1: secured in an archives facility. On November ninth, the FBI
- 21:00Speaker 1: commenced an assessment consistent with standard protocols to understand whether
- 21:04Speaker 1: classified information had been mishandled in violation of federal law.
- 21:10Speaker 1: On November fourteenth, pursuant to Section six hundred point two
- 21:14Speaker 1: B of the Special Council Regulations, I assigned US Attorney
- 21:18Speaker 1: Laosche to conduct an initial investigation to inform my decision
- 21:23Speaker 1: whether to appoint a special counsel. Mister Laosche has served
- 21:27Speaker 1: as the US attorney in Chicago since twenty seventeen. Before that,
- 21:31Speaker 1: he spent more than a decade as an assistant US
- 21:33Speaker 1: attorney in that same office. I selected him to conduct
- 21:36Speaker 1: the initial investigation because I was confident his experience would
- 21:40Speaker 1: ensure that it would be done professionally and expeditiously. On
- 21:46Speaker 1: December twentieth, President Biden's personal counsel informed mister Laoch that
- 21:51Speaker 1: additional documents bearing classification markings were identified in the garage
- 21:56Speaker 1: of the President's private residence in Wilmington, Delaware. President Biden's
- 22:01Speaker 1: counsel informed mister Looch that those documents were among other
- 22:04Speaker 1: records from the period of the President's service as Vice President.
- 22:09Speaker 1: The FBI went to the location and secured those documents.
- 22:13Speaker 1: On January fifth, twenty twenty three, mister Lousch brief me
- 22:17Speaker 1: on the results of his initial investigation and advised me
- 22:21Speaker 1: that further investigation by a special counsel was warranted. Based
- 22:25Speaker 1: on mister Lousch's initial investigation, I concluded that under the
- 22:29Speaker 1: special Council regulations, it was in the public interests to
- 22:33Speaker 1: appoint a special council. In the days since, while mister
- 22:37Speaker 1: Lousch continued the investigation, the Department identified mister her for
- 22:41Speaker 1: appointment as special counsel. This morning, President Biden's Personal council
- 22:46Speaker 1: called mister Loosch and stated that an additional document bearing
- 22:49Speaker 1: classification markings was identified at the President's personal residence in Wilmington, Delaware.
- 22:57Speaker 1: When I first contacted mister Lousch about this matter, he
- 23:00Speaker 1: said he could lead the initial investigation, but would be
- 23:03Speaker 1: unable to accept any longer term assignment because he would
- 23:06Speaker 1: be leaving the Department in early twenty twenty three for
- 23:09Speaker 1: the private sector. US Attorney Lausch and his team of
- 23:13Speaker 1: prosecutors and agents have conducted this initial investigation with professionalism
- 23:18Speaker 1: and speed. I am grateful to them. Earlier today, I
- 23:25Speaker 1: signed an order appointing Robert Herr a Special Council for
- 23:28Speaker 1: the matter I just described. The document authorizes him to
- 23:32Speaker 1: investigate whether any person or entity violated the law in
- 23:35Speaker 1: connection with this matter. The Special Council will not be
- 23:38Speaker 1: subject to the day to day supervision of any official
- 23:41Speaker 1: of the Department, but he must comply with the regulations, procedures,
- 23:45Speaker 1: and policies of the Department. Mister Herr has a long
- 23:49Speaker 1: and distinguished career as a prosecutor. In two thousand and three,
- 23:53Speaker 1: he joined the Department's Criminal Division, or he worked on
- 23:56Speaker 1: counter terrorism, corporate fraud, and appellate matters. From two thousand
- 24:01Speaker 1: and seven until twenty fourteen, mister Hurr served as an
- 24:04Speaker 1: Assistant US Attorney for the District of Maryland, where he
- 24:07Speaker 1: prosecuted matters ranging from violent crime to financial fraud. In
- 24:11Speaker 1: twenty seventeen, mister Hurr rejoined the Department as the Principal
- 24:15Speaker 1: Associate Deputy Attorney General. In twenty eighteen, he was nominated
- 24:20Speaker 1: and confirmed to serve as a US Attorney for the
- 24:24Speaker 1: District of Maryland. As US attorney, he supervised some of
- 24:27Speaker 1: the departments more important national security, public corruption, and other
- 24:32Speaker 1: high profile matters. I will ensure that mister Hurr receives
- 24:36Speaker 1: all the resources he needs to conduct his work. As
- 24:41Speaker 1: I have said before, I strongly believe that the normal
- 24:45Speaker 1: processes of this Department can handle all investigations with integrity,
- 24:51Speaker 1: but under the regulations, the extraordinary circumstances here require the
- 24:55Speaker 1: appointment of a special counsel for this matter. This appointment
- 25:00Speaker 1: underscores for the public the Department's commitment to both independence
- 25:04Speaker 1: and accountability and particularly sensitive matters, and to making decisions
- 25:09Speaker 1: indisputably guided only by the facts and the law. I
- 25:15Speaker 1: am confident that mister Herr will carry out his responsibility
- 25:19Speaker 1: in an even handed and urgent manner and in an
- 25:22Speaker 1: accordance with the highest traditions of this department. Thank you all.
- 25:28Speaker 1: The President about this investigation service nothing. He didn't answer
- 25:32Speaker 1: that question, Have you ever spoken to president about this investigation?
- 25:36Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you answer that question because you don't want
- 25:39Speaker 1: people to know the answer, which is I'm sure that
- 25:41Speaker 1: he absolutely has spoken to the President about this. The
- 25:45Speaker 1: media also doing their job really well. I mean, they're
- 25:50Speaker 1: doing one hell of a job. The media has been
- 25:54Speaker 1: just really focused on explaining that there is a friends
- 26:00Speaker 1: between Donald Trump and Joe Biden and these documents that
- 26:05Speaker 1: Donald Trump did it wrong, Joe Biden did it right,
- 26:08Speaker 1: and they're falling all over themselves to sell you this crap.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Listen from MSNBC just this morning. You're baker. We've been
- 26:13Speaker 1: pointing that out this morning and all week, just cataloging
- 26:16Speaker 1: the differences in these two cases. Chief among the differences
- 26:20Speaker 1: being that the Biden white House appears to have immediately
- 26:23Speaker 1: handed these documents over to the National Archives when they
- 26:25Speaker 1: were discovered, rather than obstructing the way Donald Trump and
- 26:28Speaker 1: his aids did. But as you talk to your sources
- 26:31Speaker 1: in and around the White House, first of all, why
- 26:33Speaker 1: did it take so long for the public to learn
- 26:35Speaker 1: about this. It was only a media report that discovered this.
- 26:39Speaker 1: And how big of a problem do they view this
- 26:41Speaker 1: to be? Yeah, I think that's right. Look at very
- 26:44Speaker 1: different than the Trump case. There does not appear, as
- 26:46Speaker 1: everybody has said, to be a willful obstruction in the
- 26:49Speaker 1: same way that we have been talking about in mar Lago.
- 26:52Speaker 1: That doesn't mean there aren't important questions, and you're right
- 26:55Speaker 1: to raise one of them. They discover these first documents
- 26:57Speaker 1: on November. The second I was six days or the
- 27:00Speaker 1: midterm elections. They did not tell the public about it.
- 27:03Speaker 1: They didn't tell the public about it, as Christian reported,
- 27:05Speaker 1: until this week, when they had no choice because the
- 27:07Speaker 1: media was going to report. In fact, when the media
- 27:10Speaker 1: reported on the first batch of documents on Monday, the
- 27:12Speaker 1: White House confirmed it, but didn't mention that they had
- 27:15Speaker 1: already by that point found a second batch of documents.
- 27:18Speaker 1: They only acknowledged that when there was a new media
- 27:20Speaker 1: reporting on that. So they'll tell you that. The reason
- 27:23Speaker 1: why is they didn't want to sort of put this
- 27:26Speaker 1: out in piece meal. They didn't want to be litigating
- 27:29Speaker 1: this in the press while there was still a question
- 27:31Speaker 1: about whether they would be a special counsel. They had
- 27:33Speaker 1: hoped that perhaps Jack Laus, the US Tourney who was
- 27:37Speaker 1: considering this matter for Mary Carlow, would not recommend a
- 27:40Speaker 1: special counsel, and so they didn't want to make it
- 27:42Speaker 1: a public issue. But that raised is still a lot
- 27:44Speaker 1: of questions because obviously, when you talk about transparency, two
- 27:47Speaker 1: months went by when they didn't say anything, particularly before
- 27:49Speaker 1: mid term, they knew it would have been damaging and
- 27:51Speaker 1: Democrats had to come out. I mean the way that
- 27:56Speaker 1: they will just lie to your face. White House say
- 28:00Speaker 1: anything on Biden documents because they knew it would have
- 28:02Speaker 1: been damaging for Dems in the mid terms. They tell
- 28:05Speaker 1: you that, all right, Well they lied to you for
- 28:07Speaker 1: that and they didn't say anything. It's amazing. No one
- 28:11Speaker 1: leaked this, right, No one leaked this. That's insane. We
- 28:17Speaker 1: now know that NBC News is saying, all right, multiple
- 28:20Speaker 1: people have been interviewed by the FBI, like this is
- 28:23Speaker 1: a big deal. Well, Andrew, we're learning. My colleague Mike
- 28:26Speaker 1: Memily and I are reporting that as part of this
- 28:29Speaker 1: Justice Apartment review of the classified documents in President Biden's possession,
- 28:35Speaker 1: they've interviewed multiple Biden staffers, those who worked for him
- 28:38Speaker 1: in those closing days of his time as vice president,
- 28:42Speaker 1: including Kathy Chung, who had served as executive assistant to
- 28:47Speaker 1: the President, who's described to us as somebody who would
- 28:49Speaker 1: have had a key role in packing up those boxes
- 28:52Speaker 1: in those final days of President Biden's term as vice president. Now,
- 28:56Speaker 1: what we're told is that those who have been interviewed
- 29:00Speaker 1: they did so when they were asked to be interviewed
- 29:02Speaker 1: by federal law enforcement, that they agreed to do so quickly.
- 29:06Speaker 1: And that those who were involved in packing up the
- 29:09Speaker 1: former vice presidents now president's vice presidential office were not
- 29:14Speaker 1: they were just putting things in boxes, that there was
- 29:16Speaker 1: no intent here, that they weren't looking and seeing what
- 29:20Speaker 1: exactly was in these papers, that they weren't intentionally putting
- 29:24Speaker 1: classified documents among commingled with the president's political and personal documents.
- 29:31Speaker 1: I mean, everything's fine, right, Like we know that the
- 29:34Speaker 1: FBI's interviewed multiple people, but look, all of it adds up.
- 29:38Speaker 1: He's just a really nice guy and these people just
- 29:40Speaker 1: made a genuine mistake and really thing, really, everything is
- 29:44Speaker 1: okay here, nothing's wrong. How many of you are going
- 29:47Speaker 1: to just buy this and say, yep, it is different
- 29:50Speaker 1: because they keep telling you it's different. Donald Trump's the
- 29:53Speaker 1: worst person in the world. Donald Trump's the way he
- 29:54Speaker 1: did it as completely the opposite of how we did it,
- 29:57Speaker 1: and that's what the media is selling. You. Please share
- 29:59Speaker 1: this with your fa ami and friends and I'll see
- 30:01Speaker 1: you back here tomorrow.
