- 0:00Speaker 1: My next guest. He's on the phone right now and
- 0:02Speaker 1: I'm excited to interview him. He is an NBA All Star,
- 0:06Speaker 1: tech investor and New York Times bestselling author of The
- 0:09Speaker 1: Sixth Man. The swing Man was an All Star NBA
- 0:13Speaker 1: All Star in twenty twelve, and it's been named to
- 0:15Speaker 1: the NBA All Defensive Team twice. He was the NBA
- 0:20Speaker 1: Founder's MVP. I remember that year, Tara tarab And was
- 0:25Speaker 1: a key component to the basketball basketball success then the
- 0:30Speaker 1: world championship run of the Golden State Wars. Please welcome
- 0:33Speaker 1: to money making conversation. Andre Eagu Dollar. How you doing, sir,
- 0:39Speaker 1: I'm doing good? My friends? So you you sold alert here? Andre?
- 0:43Speaker 1: You know what what city? Or Yeah, my friend, I'm
- 0:46Speaker 1: an elliot the moment, getting a little UM work done
- 0:49Speaker 1: on the body, listening a little bit and uh getting
- 0:52Speaker 1: some PRP plasma replacement UH treatment for the body the
- 0:56Speaker 1: uh you know, for the upcoming season, trying to get
- 0:59Speaker 1: ready um and have another successful one of it. Well,
- 1:03Speaker 1: you know the interesting thing about in part of your
- 1:05Speaker 1: book you talk about, you know, the training a lot
- 1:08Speaker 1: of you know, the high tech training that you you
- 1:10Speaker 1: really have to look at your body, you know, I've
- 1:12Speaker 1: heard when I was reading about uh Lebron James, he
- 1:15Speaker 1: spends over a million dollars here when he flies, his
- 1:18Speaker 1: trainers fly with him. What exactly do do? You? What
- 1:22Speaker 1: exactly do? When? When did the mindset that you have
- 1:24Speaker 1: to take care of your body start? Because I read
- 1:26Speaker 1: your book which is called the Six Mans six the
- 1:30Speaker 1: Sixth Man, and it started your journey, you know, in Springfield, Illinois,
- 1:35Speaker 1: and then you go through high school. You know, we're
- 1:37Speaker 1: really started earlier elementary, middle school. You're talking about your
- 1:39Speaker 1: brother Frank. And then you get to College of Arizona.
- 1:41Speaker 1: You almost went to Arkansas and then uh Nola Richards
- 1:45Speaker 1: he resigned and so you changed your mind with Arizona.
- 1:48Speaker 1: So when did you start taking care of your body? Uh?
- 1:52Speaker 1: I say, you know, you start having those conversations early
- 1:55Speaker 1: in the league. I mean the league tries to practice
- 2:00Speaker 1: much information into a week as they can, you know,
- 2:04Speaker 1: because that's all the time they have. It's called the
- 2:05Speaker 1: Rookie Transition program. And you hear that Moniker, you know
- 2:11Speaker 1: if you if you brought a ferrari, would you put
- 2:13Speaker 1: sheet gas in it? You start you start hearing out
- 2:16Speaker 1: a lot. You can apply that to pretty much anything
- 2:21Speaker 1: that you're doing, and say, you know, if you had
- 2:24Speaker 1: a ferrarie, how would you treat it? You know, how
- 2:26Speaker 1: many times would you watch it? You handwash it? You
- 2:28Speaker 1: would handwash it, or you know, you would make sure
- 2:31Speaker 1: they didn't get a scratch, or you will put the
- 2:33Speaker 1: right fluids into it. Um, you will put the right
- 2:37Speaker 1: things in any part of the engine, and you will
- 2:39Speaker 1: put top of the line products with it. You know, uh,
- 2:42Speaker 1: cleaning the tires, you're trying to use the best tier cleaner.
- 2:45Speaker 1: So in terms of just my body, UM, I start
- 2:50Speaker 1: to watch other guys and see what they were doing.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And it took me, uh some years to find kind
- 2:57Speaker 1: of like my niche and kind of fine what was
- 3:01Speaker 1: optimal for me. And the big thing was just doing
- 3:04Speaker 1: a lot of homework, doing my own studying, UM, surrounding
- 3:07Speaker 1: myself with people who were sharing their knowledge, and it
- 3:13Speaker 1: was about it was really when I started fixing my
- 3:17Speaker 1: sleep and taking my behind the bed is when a
- 3:21Speaker 1: lot of things change. And I said, okay, I'm not
- 3:24Speaker 1: getting enough sleep, and I started studying sleep and saying, okay,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you gotta get the eight hours a night, and these
- 3:31Speaker 1: are the things that are keeping you up and these
- 3:33Speaker 1: are the things that will help you go to sleep.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Once you start with that layer, you get really in
- 3:37Speaker 1: depth with one thing and it flows into a lot
- 3:40Speaker 1: of other lifestyle things in terms of health. And from there,
- 3:43Speaker 1: the the what I would started eating flowed into it.
- 3:47Speaker 1: You know. UM, let's meet a lot like like almost
- 3:50Speaker 1: cut out meat, h dairy, UM, sugar. Trying to working
- 3:55Speaker 1: on that, which is hard, really hard to do because
- 3:57Speaker 1: it's just so accustomed to having those things any married
- 4:00Speaker 1: and diet and really a lot of us going back
- 4:03Speaker 1: to tracing our roots and seeing you know, what was
- 4:07Speaker 1: beneficial to um. You know, generations and generations before me,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and where their diets are like and how that affected
- 4:17Speaker 1: their body. Read a book right now called The Sports
- 4:19Speaker 1: Gene and talks in terms of you know what genes
- 4:23Speaker 1: different cultures have and how that affects are performances in
- 4:27Speaker 1: different sports. And you know why Ethiopians and Kings are
- 4:31Speaker 1: great at uh long distance and how Jamaicans are great
- 4:35Speaker 1: at sprinting. And you know how diets can help and
- 4:38Speaker 1: hand you or how a diet can help you compete
- 4:41Speaker 1: with the likes of those cultures. So UM just really
- 4:44Speaker 1: started to do my homework or anything um involving you know,
- 4:48Speaker 1: whether it be basketball, whether it be business, and how
- 4:51Speaker 1: I can be my optimal self. I ask you this, Um.
- 4:57Speaker 1: We we're talking about your book The Sixth Man, but
- 4:59Speaker 1: you as a person, what what view or what perspective
- 5:03Speaker 1: of person would you would want a person to have
- 5:04Speaker 1: about you as a as a man, as a as
- 5:07Speaker 1: a husband, as a father, as a as a business person?
- 5:11Speaker 1: What what? What? What? What? What image do you want
- 5:14Speaker 1: to project when people say your name or you walk
- 5:16Speaker 1: into a room. I think I just want people to
- 5:20Speaker 1: realize that, you know, I'll do my homework. You know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: I'm very focused on process. You know, it's it's not
- 5:29Speaker 1: necessarily about the end results or you know, the money
- 5:35Speaker 1: or the same for me, it's about seeing a journey
- 5:41Speaker 1: or seeing and go. And I really enjoy putting all
- 5:48Speaker 1: the pieces together to build that ultimate puzzle, you know,
- 5:51Speaker 1: whether that be on the championship team or hoping the
- 5:55Speaker 1: team be the best team that that they can be.
- 5:58Speaker 1: You know, it may only be the team first round exit,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but that we played our best basketball, We got the
- 6:05Speaker 1: most out of every single person on the team. You know,
- 6:08Speaker 1: that was a successful year for that particular team. You know,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I feel like I'm trying to enhance anyone that I'm around.
- 6:15Speaker 1: You know, tell for friends that or to business people
- 6:18Speaker 1: that that I get close to, or invest in companies.
- 6:20Speaker 1: You know, when I invest in the company and they say, well, us,
- 6:22Speaker 1: you're bringing the table to the table. Besides, you know
- 6:25Speaker 1: the financial side or did the equity And I say, however,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I can help the company, And that may be putting
- 6:34Speaker 1: you in touch with other companies that I invested in,
- 6:36Speaker 1: or putting you in touch with UM power movers who
- 6:40Speaker 1: can help you find a CFO or help you find
- 6:43Speaker 1: the CMO. You know, I've tried to find a good
- 6:47Speaker 1: network of people across the globe and UM just connecting
- 6:50Speaker 1: people and UM building great products, building great companies. And
- 6:57Speaker 1: it's been a great journey. It's sort of like being
- 6:59Speaker 1: a gym one of you gotta find the right coach
- 7:02Speaker 1: right right UM basketball development system to enhance the players. Uh,
- 7:07Speaker 1: just bringing the best out of everybody. We know. The
- 7:10Speaker 1: thing about when I was reading your book, the book
- 7:12Speaker 1: is called the Sixth Band of Talking. I'm interviewing andre
- 7:15Speaker 1: Iguadala in the book, and this New York Times best
- 7:18Speaker 1: selling book. The thing that came across when you talk
- 7:21Speaker 1: about your brother who was an amazing athlete. You talked
- 7:23Speaker 1: about Jeff Walker, You talked about different athletes who who
- 7:27Speaker 1: came along your life. You took what they what you
- 7:30Speaker 1: felt they never took to the next level like finishes
- 7:35Speaker 1: you talk about. You know, you read newspapers. You know,
- 7:37Speaker 1: people walking a room and go, why why are this
- 7:39Speaker 1: young kid reading newspaper because they thought that was add
- 7:41Speaker 1: but you, but that was part of the house. You
- 7:43Speaker 1: could read the newspapers your parents, your mom excuse me,
- 7:46Speaker 1: your mom thought that was part of the growth process
- 7:49Speaker 1: to know the world for real. I do that with
- 7:51Speaker 1: my daughter. Always tell my daughter all my life, I said,
- 7:53Speaker 1: sit down and look at the six o'clock news. So
- 7:55Speaker 1: you want to know what life, look at the news.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Don't look at those of that other stuff. But you
- 7:58Speaker 1: gotta look at the news. And that was your mom's
- 8:01Speaker 1: approach was the newspaper. My approach was the six o'clock news.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And so when you look at the things that that
- 8:06Speaker 1: you value and that you're growing And we got like
- 8:08Speaker 1: fifty seconds left in this break, can you say real
- 8:11Speaker 1: quick about what bothered you when you didn't see people
- 8:13Speaker 1: with talent take advantage of it. Yeah, so I really
- 8:19Speaker 1: we'll try to process that, especially at young age and
- 8:22Speaker 1: you've got people order than you, um when you looked
- 8:26Speaker 1: up to And what I found was, you know, you
- 8:29Speaker 1: can become a product in your environment where you know,
- 8:32Speaker 1: folks didn't expect you, you know, they generalized you. They
- 8:35Speaker 1: didn't expect you to have success in the classroom. They
- 8:37Speaker 1: didn't expect you to you know, have a mind and
- 8:40Speaker 1: be able to speak it and be able to articulate it. Um.
- 8:44Speaker 1: So for me, it was that it was a challenge.
- 8:45Speaker 1: You know, I made that a challenge. You know, Okay,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna show you that it's more than dribbling the ball.
- 8:50Speaker 1: You know, I'm gonna be able to have success in
- 8:52Speaker 1: the classroom. I'm gonna be able to uh spark a
- 8:55Speaker 1: debate and be able to articulate you know why I
- 8:58Speaker 1: feel the way that I feel, and I'm gonna learn
- 9:01Speaker 1: as much as I can to be able to have
- 9:04Speaker 1: success in those conversations. So it was just it was
- 9:07Speaker 1: a challenge that I tried to put on myself and
- 9:10Speaker 1: and completed. Cool, We'll be right back with more of
- 9:12Speaker 1: my man entitled The book is entitled The Sixth Man.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I'm speaking to andre igu Dollar I'm on the phone
- 9:19Speaker 1: with They call him a six maid, and some people
- 9:23Speaker 1: call a swing man because he can be all over
- 9:24Speaker 1: the clore. He can be he can go the sinner.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Sometimes he might go the power forward. Sometimes he might
- 9:30Speaker 1: go on a small four. He might the shooting guard,
- 9:32Speaker 1: he might guard the point guard, because he had that
- 9:35Speaker 1: skill set like that. Every time you dunk, I would
- 9:38Speaker 1: you had my spirit, you know, because you know, so
- 9:44Speaker 1: many of us lived through your success, and so that's
- 9:47Speaker 1: a responsibility when you have people like me or young
- 9:50Speaker 1: young people like you talk about the legends when you
- 9:53Speaker 1: got to play with the legends, and then you start
- 9:55Speaker 1: mentioning the legends who directed you at a certain point,
- 9:58Speaker 1: and you realize as you was coming up, you didn't
- 10:00Speaker 1: think you belonged on the court. And then you people
- 10:02Speaker 1: start checking you and you realized why they're checking me, well,
- 10:05Speaker 1: because you're the baddest man on the court. So the
- 10:07Speaker 1: realization of yourself you were just a humble guy that
- 10:11Speaker 1: had this guard getting talent without the arrogance, am I right, Yeah, yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 1: well you know, and we all go through those different
- 10:17Speaker 1: moments in life, so I definitely, you know, try to
- 10:20Speaker 1: find the balance and you know the scale with way
- 10:24Speaker 1: one way and tip the other way. You know, I've
- 10:26Speaker 1: had moments where I've had to check myself or I've
- 10:28Speaker 1: always tried to put people around me who you know,
- 10:30Speaker 1: hold me accountable, you know, be able to give me
- 10:33Speaker 1: constructive criticism. But those things are really important to you know,
- 10:37Speaker 1: the company that you keep. Um so there. I've had
- 10:40Speaker 1: times where I've been too humble, and I haven't been
- 10:44Speaker 1: I haven't had as much confidence as I should have
- 10:46Speaker 1: in certain areas, and other times I got a little
- 10:48Speaker 1: too cocky. But I found you gotta have the right balance,
- 10:52Speaker 1: you know, you gotta be humble and put in that work.
- 10:54Speaker 1: And sometimes you gotta go to the humble beginnings and
- 10:57Speaker 1: put yourself in the mindset like you know, I'm just
- 11:00Speaker 1: a kid at home, you know, trying to see the family.
- 11:03Speaker 1: You know, you gotta you gotta put yourself in that mode.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And other times, you know, in the core, you gotta
- 11:06Speaker 1: tell yourself, look, I'm the baddest man out here. You know,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm putting in the work. You know, I respected the game,
- 11:12Speaker 1: I do it the right way, and I'm one of
- 11:14Speaker 1: the hardest workers and I'm gonna show it out here.
- 11:16Speaker 1: And I don't think anybody can you know, compete with
- 11:19Speaker 1: me in certain areas of the game that I feel
- 11:22Speaker 1: very confident. And so you just gotta have that right balance.
- 11:25Speaker 1: You gotta always believe in yourself and um, I feel
- 11:28Speaker 1: like I was surrounding myself with the right people to
- 11:31Speaker 1: keep that thing balanced. You better have confident when you
- 11:33Speaker 1: you know, when you were running up on Lebron, you
- 11:35Speaker 1: know you get up underneath them running up on him.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Now that that you man, you know, you're a special dude.
- 11:42Speaker 1: And I say that from a standpoint of just watching
- 11:45Speaker 1: your career, your body of work, and there's a professionalism
- 11:49Speaker 1: that you carry with yourself because of the fact that
- 11:53Speaker 1: you're a great player, but you were able to back
- 11:55Speaker 1: down when you were surrounded by other great players to
- 11:58Speaker 1: make the bigger picture work. And that that humbleness is
- 12:02Speaker 1: a greatness and that has to be applauded. And that
- 12:06Speaker 1: is something that I'm sure when you speak to people,
- 12:09Speaker 1: you it has to be acknowledged that you know that
- 12:12Speaker 1: a team works, a team wins, an individual just accomplished
- 12:16Speaker 1: it is that correct in my assessment of you. I
- 12:21Speaker 1: would like to think so, and I appreciate that, Um,
- 12:23Speaker 1: you know, and it's it could be difficult to make
- 12:26Speaker 1: those adjustments on the fly. And you know, sometimes you
- 12:31Speaker 1: have transition into a position that's not as beneficial to
- 12:36Speaker 1: you personally, but beneficial to the whole, whether it be
- 12:39Speaker 1: a team or a company or a family or wherever
- 12:43Speaker 1: you are. Um, you got to see the big picture.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And and I'll tell you interesting story. I would have
- 12:50Speaker 1: a lot of different conversations with people who were very
- 12:53Speaker 1: supportive of me, and they would ask, you know, why
- 12:55Speaker 1: don't you shoot this much? You know, you're just You're
- 12:58Speaker 1: just as good as this guy. You know, why don't
- 13:00Speaker 1: you get into shine that you deserve? You know? You know, Um,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I've been in the gym with you. You shot you know,
- 13:06Speaker 1: you made five hundred shots, Uh, every day for a summer,
- 13:09Speaker 1: the whole summer. Too straight? You know, you could shoot
- 13:12Speaker 1: the ball? Or why didn't you do this? Or you know,
- 13:14Speaker 1: not understanding the process or not understanding you know the
- 13:17Speaker 1: bigger picture and and and end game and end game
- 13:20Speaker 1: is always too Like I said before, UH, maximize the team.
- 13:26Speaker 1: And I was lucky to have a guy like Steve
- 13:30Speaker 1: Kirr who went to University of Arizona, had the same
- 13:32Speaker 1: coaches I did, so we spoke the same basketball language.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You know, when he came in and start coaching us.
- 13:38Speaker 1: It's it's usually difficult for guys to adjust to a
- 13:40Speaker 1: new coaches like differently go different language, different verbics, and
- 13:43Speaker 1: it's like, well, you know, people trying to adjust on
- 13:45Speaker 1: the fly. You know, it was seamless for me. I
- 13:48Speaker 1: was like, Oh, I get everything he said. We did
- 13:49Speaker 1: these same drills in college. You know, he would Olsen talk,
- 13:52Speaker 1: so I understood everything that he was trying to do.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And when he told me, you know, I need you
- 13:56Speaker 1: to come off the bench and uh, you know, to
- 13:58Speaker 1: help our team have more depth there for you know,
- 14:01Speaker 1: it's more balanced game. Over forty eight minutes. You know,
- 14:05Speaker 1: I understood everything he was trying to say, and I
- 14:07Speaker 1: was like, oh, I get that. That's that's nothing, and
- 14:09Speaker 1: we gotta we gotta chance to do some special you know.
- 14:11Speaker 1: So you know, why not, um, just go along with
- 14:15Speaker 1: the process and you know, have faith in it and
- 14:18Speaker 1: see what happens. Going for the book, the sixth Man,
- 14:21Speaker 1: one of the areas of the book that I've been
- 14:22Speaker 1: followed you that's not in the book as much as
- 14:24Speaker 1: you mentioned it. It's the tech investment side of you
- 14:28Speaker 1: talk to us about how did you get involved in
- 14:30Speaker 1: that and what is the future are you are your
- 14:33Speaker 1: person that's uh, that's mentoring other NBA players or other
- 14:36Speaker 1: athletes are students. What did your overall participation as a
- 14:42Speaker 1: tech investor? Well, it started as a trade account. You know,
- 14:46Speaker 1: you hear a lot of stories about athletes going broke
- 14:48Speaker 1: or athletes not having that financial literacy that they need
- 14:51Speaker 1: to have to have financial successes, you know, after they're
- 14:54Speaker 1: playing days. So you know, I took it up for
- 14:55Speaker 1: myself to like I said before, right stuff with the
- 14:57Speaker 1: way people people that were going to empower you, people
- 14:59Speaker 1: that were book accountable and make sure that you learn
- 15:02Speaker 1: and you gotta hold yourself accountable too, and do your
- 15:04Speaker 1: do your work, you know what I'm saying. Like I
- 15:05Speaker 1: used to, like you said before, read the newspaper every day,
- 15:08Speaker 1: and you know, you get you get the habit of
- 15:10Speaker 1: being able to retain information and and read the newspaper
- 15:13Speaker 1: and the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, all those publications.
- 15:16Speaker 1: So I started e trade account, and you know, a
- 15:19Speaker 1: business partner helped me, you know, pick a few stocks
- 15:21Speaker 1: and then how do we track the stocks and understand
- 15:24Speaker 1: why they're going up, why they're going down. I gotta
- 15:26Speaker 1: understand the markets and how the markets work, and not
- 15:28Speaker 1: just in in America, but globally. Everything is connected. And
- 15:34Speaker 1: from there I saw that, you know, the iPhone came
- 15:37Speaker 1: out a round the time, and I was having had
- 15:38Speaker 1: all the Apple products, so I said, let me put
- 15:41Speaker 1: some money Apple and you know, from there and start
- 15:43Speaker 1: seeing the effects that Apple had on other companies that
- 15:46Speaker 1: were up and coming um on on the mobile platforms
- 15:49Speaker 1: and start investment in those. It's all some success there
- 15:53Speaker 1: in the public markets. And you know, reading into it,
- 15:56Speaker 1: you say, okay, hear about these private markets and who's
- 15:58Speaker 1: going to be up for I p over the next
- 16:00Speaker 1: couple of years. It's like private markets and you know,
- 16:02Speaker 1: pique my interests and said, you know, how do we
- 16:04Speaker 1: go deeper? And um, timing was perfect, being a free agent,
- 16:08Speaker 1: having a few years investing under my belt in the
- 16:10Speaker 1: public markets and got to the to the Bay area,
- 16:13Speaker 1: which Silicon Valley and that's where all of it is,
- 16:15Speaker 1: and work myself right, it just he murdered. It was
- 16:18Speaker 1: the perfect time and just immersed myself with everything that's
- 16:23Speaker 1: going on in Silicone Valley and Mason great connects and uh,
- 16:29Speaker 1: they helped me help, they helped me along the way,
- 16:31Speaker 1: and and and and here we are investing in a
- 16:34Speaker 1: lot of startup companies, companies in different UH growth areas.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And what I'm ded with that is started the players
- 16:42Speaker 1: text on it, which empowers all the athletes to be
- 16:45Speaker 1: able to learn about the text space and how to
- 16:49Speaker 1: grow up business or how to start your own company,
- 16:52Speaker 1: how to get funding, um, how to you know, different
- 16:56Speaker 1: growth stages and when you can invest in what's the
- 16:58Speaker 1: need and the risk? And we were trying to empower players.
- 17:01Speaker 1: And uh, I feel like I'm at the forefront of
- 17:04Speaker 1: bridging the gap between tech and sports. A man, you know,
- 17:09Speaker 1: just here and you talk, you know, just here, the
- 17:12Speaker 1: strength in your tone, the knowledge. Um, your mom, you know,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I'll be remissed if I don't bring her name up
- 17:20Speaker 1: doing this conversation. Just tell us the impact that she
- 17:23Speaker 1: had in your life and and how are you caring
- 17:27Speaker 1: that impact to affect other people positively? Yeah, my mom
- 17:31Speaker 1: was very instrumental and you know everything that I did.
- 17:36Speaker 1: You know, even in playing sports. Uh, she played a
- 17:38Speaker 1: little bit of ball, but she understood the game. She
- 17:40Speaker 1: watched the game, and she was very specific in terms
- 17:45Speaker 1: of where her goals were and where she wanted us
- 17:48Speaker 1: to be. Uh, we didn't have to be rich or
- 17:51Speaker 1: or you know, we had She had her own definition
- 17:53Speaker 1: of success, which was you know, experience in the world,
- 17:57Speaker 1: you know, not being having that small time mindset, which
- 18:01Speaker 1: a lot of the athletes where I come from, hals,
- 18:05Speaker 1: they're always a strage experience different things. That's why they
- 18:07Speaker 1: end up right back at home, you know after after
- 18:10Speaker 1: a couple of months of college. You know, that was
- 18:11Speaker 1: like the norm. You know, go to college for a
- 18:14Speaker 1: couple of months and they end up right back home.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I couldn't handle the pressures or you know, the you know,
- 18:20Speaker 1: weren't as familiar with that environment and couldn't handle it.
- 18:25Speaker 1: So that was stuck in my mind at a young age.
- 18:28Speaker 1: You know, you're getting out, he's going forward from home
- 18:30Speaker 1: as possible, and you're gonna see the world and you're
- 18:32Speaker 1: gonna maximize your potentials. And she was very tough at times,
- 18:36Speaker 1: but she was loving at the same time. You know,
- 18:38Speaker 1: I was a mama's boy, so I was very attached
- 18:39Speaker 1: to her um. So you know, it's just having somebody
- 18:43Speaker 1: that had confidence in you were, having somebody that held
- 18:45Speaker 1: your accountable and you know when you got the line
- 18:48Speaker 1: out of line, she put you right back out. How
- 18:49Speaker 1: you going really sad? Yeah, she didn't play no games.
- 18:53Speaker 1: But at the same time, you knew somebody that had
- 18:55Speaker 1: your back. You knew it came from a loving place,
- 18:57Speaker 1: So you know, act she made it easy. We know
- 19:00Speaker 1: when I got in trouble by my mother, you know
- 19:02Speaker 1: I would sit back and reflecting me like I was
- 19:04Speaker 1: in the wrong. You know, most of us would be like,
- 19:06Speaker 1: you know, my mom did me wrong, my dad did
- 19:08Speaker 1: me wrong, and I don't understand why they're doing this
- 19:10Speaker 1: to me. But for me, it was like I don't
- 19:12Speaker 1: know what it was. She this was such a great
- 19:13Speaker 1: parent that I understood everything she was trying to love,
- 19:16Speaker 1: to do or get across, and she just wanted me
- 19:18Speaker 1: to be successful. My man and me all start in
- 19:21Speaker 1: twenty twelve, NBA All Start, All Defensive Team twice, NBA
- 19:26Speaker 1: World Champion, Olympic Champion. Also should have been Slam Junk
- 19:31Speaker 1: Slam Dunk Champion, but that didn't happen because guess what,
- 19:34Speaker 1: there's a bad job just sitting at the table. Y'all
- 19:37Speaker 1: go out and buy his book. He's my man, Andre
- 19:40Speaker 1: Egual Dollar, the sixth Man getting excited to talk about
- 19:43Speaker 1: that slam dunk. They should have gave you, my man,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I appreciate you coming on the show, and if you
- 19:48Speaker 1: ever need me, tell you PR people to send me
- 19:50Speaker 1: some some banners so I can putting on my social
- 19:52Speaker 1: media so I can extend the opportunities to Promoe out there. Man,
- 19:55Speaker 1: you're great, dude. Do not change anything that you do
- 19:58Speaker 1: about yourself. Okay, I appreciate it. Thanks so much for
