- 0:01Speaker 1: The coward behind the shooting the assassination of Charlie Kirk
- 0:06Speaker 1: has been caught. We know a lot more about the individual,
- 0:10Speaker 1: including etchings on bullet casings of Charlie Kirk's assassination suspect
- 0:16Speaker 1: saying things like hey, fascist catch. The Utah Governor Spencer
- 0:22Speaker 1: Cock revealed Friday that the bullet casings in the rifle
- 0:26Speaker 1: allegedly used by Tyler Robinson to assassinate Charlie Kirk were
- 0:30Speaker 1: etched with a variety of messages, including one that read,
- 0:35Speaker 1: hey fascists catch. Robinson twenty two was arrested Thursday evening
- 0:42Speaker 1: after a family member turned him in. I want you
- 0:46Speaker 1: to hear from the governor first, and then you're gonna
- 0:49Speaker 1: hear her from Cash Pttel, the FBI Director, on exactly
- 0:54Speaker 1: how all of this went down.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. We got him. On the
- 1:00Speaker 2: evening of September eleventh, a family member of Tyler Robinson
- 1:05Speaker 2: reached out to a family friend who contacted the Washington
- 1:08Speaker 2: County Sheriff's office with information that Robinson had confessed to
- 1:12Speaker 2: them or implied that he had committed the incident. This
- 1:16Speaker 2: information was relayed to the Utah County Sheriff's office and
- 1:19Speaker 2: seen investigators at Utah Valley University. This information was also
- 1:24Speaker 2: conveyed to the FBI. Investigators reviewed additional video footage from
- 1:30Speaker 2: UVU surveillance and identified Robinson arriving on UVU campus in
- 1:34Speaker 2: a gray Dodge Challenger at approximately eight twenty nine am
- 1:38Speaker 2: on September tenth, in which he is observed on video
- 1:42Speaker 2: in a plain maroon T shirt, light colored shorts, a
- 1:46Speaker 2: black hat with a white logo, and light colored shoes.
- 1:49Speaker 2: When encountered in person by investigators in Washington County on
- 1:52Speaker 2: September twelfth in the early morning hours, Robinson was observed
- 1:56Speaker 2: in consistent clothing with those surveillance images. Investigators interviewed a
- 2:02Speaker 2: family member of Robinson, who stated that Robinson had become
- 2:05Speaker 2: more political in recent years. The family member referenced a
- 2:09Speaker 2: recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to
- 2:13Speaker 2: September tenth, and in the conversation with another family member,
- 2:17Speaker 2: Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked
- 2:21Speaker 2: about why they didn't like him and the viewpoints that
- 2:24Speaker 2: he had. The family member also stated Kirk was full
- 2:27Speaker 2: of hate and spreading hate. The family member also confirmed
- 2:31Speaker 2: Robinson had a gray Dodge Challenger. Investigators identified an individual
- 2:37Speaker 2: as the roommate of Robinson. Investigators interviewed that roommate, who
- 2:41Speaker 2: stated that his roommate, referring to Robinson, made a joke
- 2:45Speaker 2: on discord. Investigators asked if he would show them the
- 2:48Speaker 2: messages on discord. He opened it and showed several messages
- 2:51Speaker 2: to investigators and allowed investigators to take photos of the
- 2:55Speaker 2: screen as each message was shown by Robinson's roommate. The
- 2:59Speaker 2: photos consisted of various messages, including content of messages between
- 3:04Speaker 2: the phone contact named Tyler with an emoji icon and
- 3:08Speaker 2: Robinson's roommate's device. The content of these messages included messages
- 3:14Speaker 2: affiliated with the contact Tyler, stating a need to retrieve
- 3:18Speaker 2: a rifle from a drop point, leaving the rifle in
- 3:22Speaker 2: a bush, Messages related to visually watching the area where
- 3:27Speaker 2: a rifle was left, and a message referring to having
- 3:31Speaker 2: left the rifle wrapped in a towel. The messages also
- 3:35Speaker 2: referred to engraving bullets and a mention of a scope
- 3:40Speaker 2: and the rifle being unique. Messages from the contact Tyler
- 3:45Speaker 2: also mentioned that he had changed outfits. I know there
- 3:51Speaker 2: has been speculation as well as to the writing on
- 3:56Speaker 2: those casings, those bullet casings, and I believe we have
- 4:03Speaker 2: that as well, and I will share that with you now. So,
- 4:10Speaker 2: the area north of Campus Drive Road where the suspect
- 4:13Speaker 2: crossed over, you saw some of that in the video
- 4:16Speaker 2: that we released last night, consists of a grassy area
- 4:19Speaker 2: with trees on the edge of the UBU campus. Investigators
- 4:22Speaker 2: discovered a bolt action rifle wrapped in a dark colored towel.
- 4:27Speaker 2: The rifle was determined to be a Mouser Model ninety
- 4:30Speaker 2: eight thirty six thirty six caliber bolt action rifle. The
- 4:34Speaker 2: rifle had a scope mounted on top of it. Investigators
- 4:37Speaker 2: noted inscriptions that had been engraved on casings found with
- 4:41Speaker 2: the rifle. Inscriptions on a fired casing read notices bulges
- 4:48Speaker 2: capital wo, what's this question mark. Inscriptions on the three
- 4:53Speaker 2: unfired casings read hay fascist, exclamation point, catch, exclamation point,
- 5:00Speaker 2: up arrow symbol, right arrow and symbol, and three down
- 5:05Speaker 2: arrow symbols. A second unfired casing read oh belli chow
- 5:10Speaker 2: bella chow bella chow chow chow. And a third unfired
- 5:14Speaker 2: casing read if you read this, you are gay LMAO.
- 5:21Speaker 2: We are indebted to law enforcement across the state who
- 5:26Speaker 2: has worked seamlessly together local law enforcement, state law enforcement,
- 5:31Speaker 2: and our federal partners with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- 5:35Speaker 2: We're grateful for everyone who worked together in such a
- 5:39Speaker 2: short amount of time to find this person and to
- 5:46Speaker 2: bring justice. I want to thank the public who has
- 5:49Speaker 2: been so engaged reviewing, reviewing videos, helping us with sending
- 5:54Speaker 2: in tips, and helping us get to this point. I
- 5:59Speaker 2: want to thank the family members of Tyler Robinson who
- 6:03Speaker 2: did the right thing in this case and we're able
- 6:07Speaker 2: to bring him into law enforcement as well. I especially
- 6:14Speaker 2: want to thank the family of Charlie Kirk Erica, Charlie's parents,
- 6:22Speaker 2: his children. I want us to be thinking of them
- 6:25Speaker 2: as we bring justice in this case. They will be
- 6:29Speaker 2: involved in that justice. We will be working very closely
- 6:32Speaker 2: with them as we move through this process as well.
- 6:36Speaker 2: This is a very sad day for again for our country,
- 6:41Speaker 2: a terrible day for the state of Utah. But I'm
- 6:45Speaker 2: grateful that at this moment we have an opportunity to
- 6:48Speaker 2: bring closure to this very dark chapter in our nation's history.
- 6:53Speaker 2: With that, I will now turn the turn the microphone
- 6:56Speaker 2: over to the Director of the FBI, Cash pTau, Thank.
- 7:01Speaker 3: You, Governor. This is what happens when you let good
- 7:04Speaker 3: cops be cops. The FBI and our partners are proud
- 7:08Speaker 3: to stand here today together to bring justice to the
- 7:11Speaker 3: family of Charlie Kirk in honors memory. I want to
- 7:14Speaker 3: express my deep gratitude to President Trump, the Vice President,
- 7:17Speaker 3: and the entire White House who have been so incredibly
- 7:19Speaker 3: supportive with both resources and just personally to the FBI
- 7:23Speaker 3: as a team. They had our backs the entire way,
- 7:26Speaker 3: and I just want to express my gratitude for giving
- 7:28Speaker 3: us the resources we need to operate in this space
- 7:31Speaker 3: to bring this sort of justice at this sort of speed.
- 7:34Speaker 3: In thirty three hours, we have made historic progress for Charlie.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Governor Cox, our partnership has been absolutely incredible these last
- 7:45Speaker 3: few days. Our partnership will endure. Your state and local partners,
- 7:49Speaker 3: your sheriffs, your DPS, community has been unbelievably impressive in
- 7:54Speaker 3: the hardest of times. In a case like this, cannot
- 7:57Speaker 3: be solved, cannot be brought without partnering with your state
- 8:01Speaker 3: and local authorities. The FBI has a certain role to play,
- 8:03Speaker 3: and we will play that role, and we will lead
- 8:06Speaker 3: out for the federal government, but Governor Cox, we are
- 8:08Speaker 3: so grateful for your state partnership that let out on
- 8:11Speaker 3: this investigation. A little bit of the timeline. Charlie was
- 8:16Speaker 3: shot at twelve twenty three pm on Wednesday. The first
- 8:20Speaker 3: FBI agents Aren't arrived on scene in sixteen minutes with
- 8:23Speaker 3: chiefs of police at twelve thirty nine and secured the scene.
- 8:28Speaker 3: The FBI immediately launched fixed wing assets. We utilize these
- 8:32Speaker 3: assets to transport personnel, specialty technicians, hasAge rescue teams. We
- 8:37Speaker 3: also utilize these assets to go back and forth from
- 8:40Speaker 3: the East Coast and here in Utah to transport forensic
- 8:42Speaker 3: evidence and other evidence that will be analyzed and is
- 8:45Speaker 3: being analyzed at our FBI laboratories in Quantico and other
- 8:48Speaker 3: laboratories including the ATF and my direction. The FBI released
- 8:53Speaker 3: the first set of FBI photos of the suspect at
- 8:55Speaker 3: ten am local time on nine to eleven, then shortly thereafter,
- 9:01Speaker 3: the FBI reward of one hundred thousand dollars was released
- 9:03Speaker 3: at ten forty five am Local myself and Deputy Director
- 9:08Speaker 3: Bondino arrived on the scene at approximately five thirty pm
- 9:11Speaker 3: on nine to eleven. The Governor led a press conference
- 9:15Speaker 3: last night at approximately eight pm, where, in my direction,
- 9:20Speaker 3: the FBI released a never before seen video of the suspect.
- 9:24Speaker 3: We also released new images to the public of the suspect,
- 9:30Speaker 3: and just last night, the suspect was taken into custody
- 9:34Speaker 3: at ten pm local time, in less than thirty six
- 9:37Speaker 3: hours thirty three to be precise, thanks to the full
- 9:42Speaker 3: weight of the federal government and leading out with the
- 9:45Speaker 3: partners here in the state of Utah and Governor Cox,
- 9:48Speaker 3: the suspect was apprehended in historic time period. And I
- 9:52Speaker 3: want to highlight what Governor Cox said, This would not
- 9:54Speaker 3: have been possible without you the media and you the public.
- 9:57Speaker 3: That's why we went so public so fast, and we're
- 10:00Speaker 3: so transparent, and we're committed to that transparency. The crime
- 10:05Speaker 3: scene just a little bit there. It is a large
- 10:07Speaker 3: crime scene. State and local authorities along with federal authorities,
- 10:10Speaker 3: process that crime scene quickly, and I even had the
- 10:17Speaker 3: ability to walk through that crime scene and walk through
- 10:21Speaker 3: the steps the suspect took to learn more about what
- 10:24Speaker 3: was needed and what resources we needed to brare to
- 10:27Speaker 3: create a full picture for the FBI and leadership back
- 10:30Speaker 3: in Washington Furthermore, thankfully to state local partners, forensic evidence
- 10:34Speaker 3: has been seized and continues to be garnered. Forensic evidence
- 10:38Speaker 3: has already been evaluated FBI laboratories in Quantico and state
- 10:41Speaker 3: local authorities here. We will continue to process evidence as
- 10:45Speaker 3: we see it, as we collect it, and we will
- 10:47Speaker 3: continue to deliver to Governor Cox and his team. Last night,
- 10:51Speaker 3: we had a total of approximately seven thousand interviews excuse me,
- 10:54Speaker 3: seven thousand leads. As of this morning, thanks to your
- 10:58Speaker 3: great work, we have over eleven thousand leads that were
- 11:01Speaker 3: called in to the FBI and we are running out
- 11:04Speaker 3: every single lead that we can. Every one of those
- 11:08Speaker 3: leads will be run out. The arrest is a testament
- 11:11Speaker 3: to dedication of good law enforcement being great and partnerships
- 11:16Speaker 3: in law enforcement, which I've tried to highlight as my
- 11:18Speaker 3: tenure at the Director of the FBI. There is no
- 11:21Speaker 3: better relationship for law enforcement than the FBI to partner
- 11:25Speaker 3: with state and local authorities, and you've seen it here
- 11:28Speaker 3: in these last few days. The FBI Salt Lake Field Office,
- 11:31Speaker 3: along with our offices in La Phoenix, Denver, San Antonio,
- 11:35Speaker 3: Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, our headquarters component in Quantico all
- 11:39Speaker 3: participate in the FBI. I want to express my deep
- 11:42Speaker 3: gratitude to the employees of the FBI, the men and women,
- 11:46Speaker 3: the evidence response team, tacticians, the special operators, the agents,
- 11:51Speaker 3: the support staff. You have done monumental work in historic
- 11:55Speaker 3: time when the public who had a right to demand
- 12:00Speaker 3: and such an expeditious solving of an investigation. The FBI
- 12:05Speaker 3: answered that call diligently, critically important to our nation, and
- 12:11Speaker 3: we delivered. And I'm proud to be their leader, and
- 12:13Speaker 3: I'm proud to be the director of the FBI. This
- 12:16Speaker 3: is a very much an ongoing investigation, as the governor said,
- 12:19Speaker 3: and we will continue to work with state and local
- 12:21Speaker 3: authorities to develop the investigation, to provide them the evidence
- 12:25Speaker 3: they need for their ongoing prosecutions. And we will be
- 12:28Speaker 3: here to answer every call they absolutely have, as long
- 12:31Speaker 3: as it takes, for as long as we need to
- 12:34Speaker 3: find and apprehend who whatever suspects were involved in this crime. Lastly,
- 12:42Speaker 3: to my friend Charlie kirk rest now, brother, we have
- 12:47Speaker 3: the watch and I'll see you in Valhalla.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I got to tell you, it's so nice to see
- 12:53Speaker 1: people in law enforcement and the governor care so much
- 12:56Speaker 1: about justice. For this assassination, knowing that, as Cash Barttel
- 13:01Speaker 1: said it over and over again, this is what happens
- 13:03Speaker 1: to you let good people do their jobs in uniform
- 13:07Speaker 1: the Utah governor. They're revealing the truth about what has
- 13:11Speaker 1: what was said on the bullet casings, and I love
- 13:16Speaker 1: knowing that there are people that aren't trying to cover
- 13:19Speaker 1: things up or whitewash things, or make them somehow different
- 13:22Speaker 1: than what they really are. We're finding out exactly what
- 13:27Speaker 1: happened here. We also know that one of the phrases,
- 13:31Speaker 1: the bella coo phrase, is associated with left wing songs
- 13:35Speaker 1: loosely linked to twentieth century Italian opponents of fascism. We're
- 13:41Speaker 1: going to find out even more about this, but let
- 13:44Speaker 1: me also just say that is sad as I am
- 13:51Speaker 1: over losing my friend Charlie, I am so thankful to
- 13:55Speaker 1: see so many people coming around to love on his family,
- 14:00Speaker 1: to love on his friends, to stand up for what
- 14:04Speaker 1: he stood up for, to stand up for what we
- 14:06Speaker 1: believe in, and to know that this shooter may have
- 14:09Speaker 1: thought they won, but they didn't. They didn't stop us.
- 14:13Speaker 1: They made us stronger, They didn't silence us. They made
- 14:17Speaker 1: us louder. They didn't get rid of Charlie Kirk's voice.
- 14:21Speaker 1: They just added millions and I mean that literally to
- 14:27Speaker 1: continue on with what he was advocating for. I am
- 14:31Speaker 1: so thankful that we live in a country where good
- 14:35Speaker 1: can still overcome evil. There are many out there that
- 14:41Speaker 1: are celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk Allah Mamr for example.
- 14:45Speaker 1: So conservatives who support Charlie Kirk are full of blank.
- 14:48Speaker 1: They're also Democrats trying to rewrite history, acting like they
- 14:53Speaker 1: were not the ones that created this environment and this
- 14:56Speaker 1: level of hatred. And I'm glad that using their jobs,
- 15:01Speaker 1: many of them on college campuses, have lost their jobs
- 15:04Speaker 1: for what they said celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk,
- 15:07Speaker 1: celebrating the assassination of him, and there's accountability there as well.
- 15:13Speaker 1: We are also hearing from world leaders, not just President
- 15:17Speaker 1: Donald Trump, who has spoken out about this, and the
- 15:19Speaker 1: Vice president also is going to Utah and going to
- 15:23Speaker 1: be picking up the family of Charlie Kirk, his wife
- 15:27Speaker 1: and children and relatives and taking Charlie's casket back to Arizona.
- 15:33Speaker 1: We've learned that, but there are leaders around the world
- 15:36Speaker 1: now that are talking about what happened to Charlie Kirk.
- 15:41Speaker 1: One of those is the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nette Yahoo.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Now Charlie was a protector of Israel. He was very
- 15:50Speaker 1: much like me, where he was proud to be an
- 15:52Speaker 1: ally and to stand with the Jewish people. I wear
- 15:56Speaker 1: if you see me on TV, I wear a pen
- 16:00Speaker 1: that is the US flag, and it's right next to
- 16:02Speaker 1: the Israeli flag. And I keep wearing it because every
- 16:08Speaker 1: time I'm on TV, it irritates people and the hate
- 16:12Speaker 1: and bigotry comes out. And I want to shine a
- 16:14Speaker 1: light on the standing and the unity that we need
- 16:18Speaker 1: to have with Israel. And that is absolutely what Charlie
- 16:22Speaker 1: Cook stood for as well. And net Yahoo was on
- 16:27Speaker 1: Newsmax with Greta Ancestrum. He had actually been on there
- 16:30Speaker 1: recently with her, and I want you to hear what
- 16:32Speaker 1: he had to say about Charlie.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Mister Prime Minister. It's very nice to talk to you
- 16:37Speaker 4: against sir, but I didn't dream that I'd be talking
- 16:39Speaker 4: to you so soon since the last time we spoke.
- 16:43Speaker 5: Well, the circumstances are tragic and as you can imagine, Greta,
- 16:50Speaker 5: I want to say a farewell to a great human being,
- 16:55Speaker 5: great friend of Israel, a great champion of Judeo Christianization
- 17:01Speaker 5: and a champion of free speech, free debate, freedom. Charlie
- 17:05Speaker 5: kirk Is. His loss is terrible, and we agree for him,
- 17:12Speaker 5: for his wife, Erica, for his two beautiful children, and
- 17:16Speaker 5: for the many, many, many people who will not hear
- 17:20Speaker 5: his voice. His legacy, yes, but his unique voice that's gone.
- 17:29Speaker 2: You know.
- 17:29Speaker 4: I'm you didn't just read about him, You actually knew him.
- 17:33Speaker 4: He wrote you a very personal letter in May, and
- 17:35Speaker 4: I think you just spoke to him recently, am I right?
- 17:39Speaker 5: Yeah? Yes, he did. You know, he wrote me this
- 17:41Speaker 5: letter and I think May second and he says, one
- 17:45Speaker 5: of my greatest joys as a Christian is advocating for
- 17:49Speaker 5: Israel and forming alliances to defend your deil Christian civilization.
- 17:54Speaker 5: That's in a nutshell, Charlie. And then I called him
- 17:59Speaker 5: a few weeks and I said, so, Charlie, why didn't
- 18:02Speaker 5: you come and visit us? And he said, well, I'm
- 18:06Speaker 5: going to and we were going to fix a date
- 18:09Speaker 5: and that's not going to take place.
- 18:13Speaker 1: An emotional Benjamin Nette Yahu there. And I think anyone
- 18:17Speaker 1: that had traded text messages or phone calls with Charlie
- 18:21Speaker 1: in recent days and weeks is just shocked still to
- 18:27Speaker 1: the core by what has happened. I also want to
- 18:30Speaker 1: address a question that's been asked to me a lot
- 18:35Speaker 1: and in the last twenty four hours, not just by family,
- 18:40Speaker 1: but friends and also others that I work with, and
- 18:44Speaker 1: that is the real concern over safety for anyone that's
- 18:48Speaker 1: out there doing anything like what Charlie did. There is
- 18:54Speaker 1: very real concern, and there are different things that will
- 18:58Speaker 1: be done. I will doing different things, things differently, and
- 19:04Speaker 1: the way that I move and the way that I
- 19:06Speaker 1: do things and the way that I do TV appearances,
- 19:09Speaker 1: because there is a real sense of not fear, I
- 19:14Speaker 1: think reality that there is a wing now of the
- 19:18Speaker 1: Democratic Party that is in essence of terrorist organization, and
- 19:22Speaker 1: they will be inspired by what just happened. The number
- 19:25Speaker 1: of people that cheered on the assassination of Charlie Kirk
- 19:32Speaker 1: is poison that is clearly poisoned the well in a
- 19:37Speaker 1: way that I don't even think I realized how bad
- 19:40Speaker 1: it was. And I deal with this every day every
- 19:45Speaker 1: time that I go on TV. The number of people
- 19:47Speaker 1: that write horrible things online is ever since twenty sixteen,
- 19:52Speaker 1: is just constant. Like I kind of laugh and smirk
- 19:55Speaker 1: and just whatever. You've got to have thic skin to
- 19:58Speaker 1: do this. And there's so many others, but the most
- 20:02Speaker 1: shocking part of all of this is just the vitriol
- 20:06Speaker 1: and the hate and the celebration of the death of
- 20:09Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk. And it's something we need to talk about.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I want to get back to what I was talking
- 20:16Speaker 1: about a moment ago as well, which is dealing with
- 20:18Speaker 1: the hate that is out there. The hate that we
- 20:21Speaker 1: are witnessing is at a level of a cancer that
- 20:27Speaker 1: I am. I am still taken aback by.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Now.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I'll give you an example. You may know that the
- 20:32Speaker 1: It's a show that's on Fox TMZ. They're there. They
- 20:36Speaker 1: always report big news when it happens and they get
- 20:39Speaker 1: you know, it's it's it's like the National Enquirer, but
- 20:42Speaker 1: with like faster pace and more reality. They're the first
- 20:46Speaker 1: ones that report people that die and scandals and sports
- 20:50Speaker 1: and all sorts of things. And when there's things that
- 20:53Speaker 1: happen they're tragic. There a lot of people go to
- 20:55Speaker 1: them TMZ. Yesterday when Charlie Kirk, when the news was
- 21:01Speaker 1: breaking of his death, the live feed was up and
- 21:07Speaker 1: they have now come out and been forced just publicly shamed.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I don't think they actually really care. I want to
- 21:14Speaker 1: make that clear, but they've now been forced to apologize
- 21:18Speaker 1: because the staff on the video you can hear erupting
- 21:23Speaker 1: into clapping, cheering and laughter after it was reported that
- 21:31Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk was dead. The Daily Mail put it this way,
- 21:36Speaker 1: timz has been forced to apologize after stafters burst into
- 21:40Speaker 1: laughter the moment Charlie Kirk's death was announced during an
- 21:43Speaker 1: unflattering live stream. Now to be clear, the people in
- 21:46Speaker 1: the room, they didn't know. I guess that they were
- 21:48Speaker 1: going out live. The entertainment News out had found itself
- 21:52Speaker 1: in hot water while reporting on the gory death of
- 21:55Speaker 1: the MAGA firebrand on Wednesday. While Harvey the guy who's
- 22:00Speaker 1: famous for TMZU and Charles, I don't even know what
- 22:04Speaker 1: the hell the other guy's last name is. We're discussing
- 22:06Speaker 1: the thirty one year old Turning Point USA founder assassination,
- 22:10Speaker 1: laughter erupted in the background. Levin remained stoic as he
- 22:14Speaker 1: broke the news to the live audience, but viewers were
- 22:18Speaker 1: sickened by what they heard. During the live stream quote,
- 22:22Speaker 1: employees were heard cheering, clamping, and celebrating just thirty seconds
- 22:25Speaker 1: before announcing Charlie Kirk's death. One user on x said
- 22:29Speaker 1: they laughed and applauded the cold blooded murder of a
- 22:32Speaker 1: husband and a father on a public broadcast like it
- 22:35Speaker 1: was some kind of sick joke, before handing it off
- 22:38Speaker 1: to Harvey. Conservative internet person personality Laura Lumer called the
- 22:43Speaker 1: incident disgusting, shameful and disgust disgusting behavior by TMZ. Charlie's
- 22:49Speaker 1: a husband, a father. He was murdering cold blood. The
- 22:52Speaker 1: worst part is about these two individuals who are famous
- 22:56Speaker 1: for getting into this type of smut and profiting off
- 23:01Speaker 1: of other people's worst days in their lives, is that
- 23:05Speaker 1: no one has dropped the show. TMZ then was forced
- 23:09Speaker 1: to put out what I could call a cover your
- 23:11Speaker 1: ass statement. We want to make it clear that these
- 23:14Speaker 1: cheers were a reaction to a high speed chase happening
- 23:17Speaker 1: in California. This was prior to and not related to
- 23:19Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk's death. By the way, I want to make
- 23:21Speaker 1: it clear, I don't believe that that's what they put out.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Then TMZ later put out this video trying to cover themselves.
- 23:31Speaker 6: We were live streaming all day during this tragedy, when
- 23:37Speaker 6: something happened in our office as we were reporting the
- 23:43Speaker 6: assassination of Charlie Kirk, there were some people in the
- 23:48Speaker 6: back room, away from your newsdesk here who were watching
- 23:52Speaker 6: a car chase and they were laughing. They were clapping,
- 23:58Speaker 6: and you could hear it out here. And we want
- 24:02Speaker 6: to make a couple of things clear. One is that
- 24:07Speaker 6: I know these people and they were not laughing. They
- 24:11Speaker 6: were not reacting that way about Charlie Kirk's assassination. They
- 24:16Speaker 6: were not. They would not work here if they did.
- 24:19Speaker 6: And that being said, we acknowledged that it was horrible timing,
- 24:24Speaker 6: and for that we are sorry. We apologize. We apologize it.
- 24:28Speaker 6: You had to hear that, and I get why. If
- 24:30Speaker 6: you're watching the stream, you may have felt that that's
- 24:33Speaker 6: what the laughter was about. We assure you it was
- 24:36Speaker 6: not about that, but it was horrible timing. And by
- 24:40Speaker 6: the way, I get it too, and he gets it
- 24:42Speaker 6: because we listened as we were talking. You can go
- 24:46Speaker 6: back and look on the stream. I actually walked off
- 24:48Speaker 6: camera to go back and find out what the hell
- 24:50Speaker 6: was going on because it was inappropriate for the laughter
- 24:55Speaker 6: at that time. But no one was laughing about the
- 24:58Speaker 6: Charlie Kirk tragedy. Nevertheless, we apologize for the way it sounded.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I don't I'm just going to be clear, I don't
- 25:05Speaker 1: believe this for a second. I think this is a
- 25:09Speaker 1: cover your abs moment. I think the timing and the
- 25:12Speaker 1: idea that this was you're covering those two stories same
- 25:14Speaker 1: time and people weren't aware of what was going on
- 25:17Speaker 1: is just completely and utterly insane, and it is really sad.
- 25:27Speaker 1: It also makes me incredibly angry that this is where
- 25:32Speaker 1: we are now, where people are saying things like this
- 25:36Speaker 1: and celebrating it this way. There are people that are
- 25:40Speaker 1: also blaming Donald Trump for Charlie Kirk's death, which is
- 25:44Speaker 1: also total insanity. Jim Acosta, former guy at CNN, he
- 25:52Speaker 1: had a guest on his show today and I want
- 25:55Speaker 1: you to hear what he had to say on Charlie Kirk.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Listened to his words carefully.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:00Speaker 7: I mean, there's exploitation going on of his death, and
- 26:06Speaker 7: it's happening on the right and it's absolutely disgraceful and
- 26:10Speaker 7: it's sending us down a course where more people are
- 26:15Speaker 7: probably going to get hurt. And I mean that to
- 26:17Speaker 7: me is that's where I kind of held my breath yesterday.
- 26:20Speaker 7: Is that, you know, I think we're now in a
- 26:22Speaker 7: moment and there's not a whole lot you and I
- 26:25Speaker 7: can do about this. Mike, you and I can talk
- 26:27Speaker 7: about this until we're blue in the face or right
- 26:29Speaker 7: in the face or whatever. There's not a whole hell
- 26:31Speaker 7: a lot we can do to stop what is now
- 26:35Speaker 7: I think happening, which is we're going to be in
- 26:37Speaker 7: this eye for an eye moment. People on the far
- 26:40Speaker 7: right are going to use this moment. You already have
- 26:43Speaker 7: the State Department earlier today saying that quote unquote, foreigners
- 26:47Speaker 7: need to watch what they say. And Trump is talking
- 26:50Speaker 7: about retribution. I mean, if you read between the lines
- 26:54Speaker 7: of what he said last night, you know, screwed Jesse
- 26:58Speaker 7: Waters and what he said. Between the lines of what
- 27:00Speaker 7: Trump said last night, he's talking about revenge and retribution.
- 27:07Speaker 1: This is what the newsrooms are filled with. Jim Acosta
- 27:11Speaker 1: is no different than he was when he was at
- 27:12Speaker 1: the White House saying there's exploitation going on of his death.
- 27:17Speaker 1: It's happening on the right and it's absolutely disgraceful. You
- 27:22Speaker 1: guys can't turn it off for five seconds and just
- 27:25Speaker 1: say that this is a horrific tragedy and we should
- 27:28Speaker 1: maybe come together instead you want to use it to
- 27:31Speaker 1: go after conservatives. They weren't done there by the way
- 27:36Speaker 1: his guests said, quote people like Jesse Waters, they don't
- 27:40Speaker 1: give a blank about Charlie Kirk. And then he said,
- 27:44Speaker 1: I'm not going to sugarcoat who Charlie Kirk was. They
- 27:48Speaker 1: are celebrating his death, they are celebrating the shooter. They
- 27:57Speaker 1: are advocating with the rhetoric for more of this to happen,
- 28:04Speaker 1: which goes back to the point that I said earlier
- 28:06Speaker 1: about some people that reached out to me. There is
- 28:10Speaker 1: a real fear, there is a real concern, There is
- 28:13Speaker 1: a real worry for all of us that do what
- 28:16Speaker 1: we do that this is going to happen again. And
- 28:21Speaker 1: I would say, pray for all of the people that
- 28:25Speaker 1: you know that do this. Pray for all of them
- 28:29Speaker 1: for their safety and their security, because you can hear
- 28:32Speaker 1: in the clips that I just played for you there
- 28:36Speaker 1: is a terrorist group of the Democratic Party that is
- 28:41Speaker 1: wanting more of this to happen, and they're acting like
- 28:44Speaker 1: this is just the beginning and not the end, and
- 28:46Speaker 1: it's sick and it's perverted and it's evil, and we're
- 28:51Speaker 1: witnessing it play out on social media and on TV
- 28:54Speaker 1: as we speak. But what I'll say right now is this, Pray.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Pay for Charlie's wife, Pray for Charlie's children, Pray for
- 29:05Speaker 1: all of them, and I'll see you back here tomorrow
