- 0:40Speaker 3: I've been on vacation. I've lost all the rules of
- 0:43Speaker 3: radio and being on vacation. It's amazing when you go
- 0:47Speaker 3: on vacation because of the fact that my body was different,
- 0:51Speaker 3: my mind was different, my world was different.
- 0:54Speaker 1: As soon as it.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Got on that plane halfway back over here, I could
- 0:59Speaker 3: tell my body was differ and I can tell the
- 1:00Speaker 3: focus I started realizing I was about to get back
- 1:04Speaker 3: into the.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Jungle, the jungle we call every day life.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I'm about to start reading CNN, you know, reading about
- 1:12Speaker 3: stuff I don't want to read about evening news, all
- 1:14Speaker 3: that good stuff. But again, so that tells you that
- 1:17Speaker 3: something I used to didn't. I didn't take vacations, man,
- 1:20Speaker 3: I didn't take vacations at all. I was so paranoid,
- 1:24Speaker 3: worried about getting off that little wheel that somebody's gonna
- 1:27Speaker 3: take my slide or I would lose my advantage. And
- 1:31Speaker 3: not realizing the advantage I was losing was not spending
- 1:34Speaker 3: enough time with my family, not taking care of my body,
- 1:38Speaker 3: allowing stress, mental strain, something we'll be talking about a
- 1:42Speaker 3: lot on the show today. If you want to talk
- 1:45Speaker 3: to us today, please call us and let us know.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Shares your stories today. What's happening in your life? Why
- 1:51Speaker 3: is it important that I should hear your story?
- 1:54Speaker 1: Why?
- 1:54Speaker 3: Because my story is I'm being uttered next week. I'm
- 2:00Speaker 3: happy to say that. And the fact that somebody has
- 2:03Speaker 3: thought of me. The Atlanta Business League has thought of myself,
- 2:07Speaker 3: and somebody had to nominate me. I didn't nominate myself.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Somebody thought enough to nominate me, And because of that,
- 2:12Speaker 3: I'm being recognized for being a community leader, for being
- 2:16Speaker 3: an entrepreneur and that amazing in itself that somebody thought
- 2:22Speaker 3: of that and I talk have a second on a
- 2:24Speaker 3: show called the Bragging Segment. Well, this is Rushan McDonald's
- 2:27Speaker 3: Bragging Segment. The Atlanta Business League host is seventeen annual.

- 2:43Speaker 3: room with me next week. And one of the legends
- 2:46Speaker 3: of the Hall of Fame that will be inducted to
- 2:48Speaker 3: the incredible war done. If you don't know what this
- 2:52Speaker 3: young man has done with his life personally, what he
- 2:54Speaker 3: has done with the community, not only as an athlete
- 2:58Speaker 3: and a formal NFL player, but a philanthropist, house building,
- 3:02Speaker 3: it's incredible. Google that man's name Warwick done.
- 3:05Speaker 1: W A R R. I C K. Done.
- 3:08Speaker 3: But also there are other influencers out there. I'll just
- 3:10Speaker 3: share a few names, not gonna burden you. People who
- 3:13Speaker 3: I'll call my classmates. You know, Afred McCrae. He's the
- 3:17Speaker 3: president of the Bank of America Atlanta. My man doctor
- 3:21Speaker 3: Kevin James, president of Morris Brown, doctor David A. Thomas,
- 3:26Speaker 3: the president of Morehouse College, and many many more will
- 3:29Speaker 3: be sharing that stage with me on the Night of
- 3:32Speaker 3: Black Excellence. From a male perspective, the twenty twenty three
- 3:36Speaker 3: Atlanta Business League Men of Influence, I will be MOI
- 3:42Speaker 3: I'll be deducted to have my pictures. You know, I'm
- 3:44Speaker 3: gonna put it on social media. I'm gonna do it up.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna do it up on the way Sean McDonald
- 3:48Speaker 3: can do it up. But more importantly, my family be there,
- 3:51Speaker 3: and people that carry about will be there, and more
- 3:53Speaker 3: importantly w C Okay, we'll be there doing their thing
- 3:57Speaker 3: because we are a community station that shouts out to success,
- 4:00Speaker 3: not only from an entrepreneurial standpoint for the community. We're
- 4:03Speaker 3: a community base and we're leaders in that forefront, not
- 4:06Speaker 3: only in jazz. When this show streams worldwide, because I
- 4:10Speaker 3: know because of the fact that I get calls from
- 4:13Speaker 3: Florida to Pennsylvania, to California to the Midwest. But more
- 4:19Speaker 3: importantly than the guests I bring on the show, the
- 4:21Speaker 3: guests who have made this show so successful and like again,
- 4:25Speaker 3: if you want to call and talk today. You know,
- 4:27Speaker 3: want to congratulate me for being honored. I take that
- 4:30Speaker 3: phone call. If you want to talk about some of
- 4:33Speaker 3: things you want to share from a small business perspective,
- 4:36Speaker 3: I would do that. Now, let's get to business. My
- 4:39Speaker 3: guest he's on the call and I had him on
- 4:41Speaker 3: the show before and it really dealt into chronic pain,
- 4:45Speaker 3: mental stress, overcoming the odds. His name is Jackson Dunbar.
- 4:49Speaker 3: He triumphed by earning a comfortable living after having lost
- 4:52Speaker 3: it all. Dunbar's committed to creating a new normal life
- 4:55Speaker 3: for himself, deliberately focused on his physical health and stre
- 5:00Speaker 3: continue to earn an income while still in chronic pain,
- 5:03Speaker 3: and without his knowledge, was teaching himself and possibly the world,
- 5:08Speaker 3: a masterclass in survival. In his book, he gives a
- 5:11Speaker 3: first hand account on how he made money, lost Danty palce,
- 5:16Speaker 3: and thrived in chronic pain in the financial and.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Health care worlds.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Please work with the money making conversation masterclass again the
- 5:24Speaker 3: one and only Jackson Dunbar.
- 5:26Speaker 4: How you doing, sir, great? Thank you so much for
- 5:29Speaker 4: having me. And I want to say congratulations on the world.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I appreciate appreciate it, you know, because you know I
- 5:37Speaker 3: had to be nominated by it.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I didn't do the nomination myself. When it was an
- 5:41Speaker 3: email was sent to me, I was surprised, and uh,
- 5:44Speaker 3: taking am back about it in a good way, you know,
- 5:47Speaker 3: because when I invite you and I meet people like you,
- 5:50Speaker 3: I'm being educated, Jackson. I'm being confronted with information I
- 5:54Speaker 3: didn't know about. And I'm just going to share something
- 5:56Speaker 3: I was on vacation. I hurt my knee, Jackson, and
- 5:59Speaker 3: right now that's hurt right now, my left kne and
- 6:02Speaker 3: so I continue to walk up the heels, I continue
- 6:05Speaker 3: to do everything with my family, and that ice packed it.
- 6:07Speaker 3: So I'm dealing with a degree of pain as we speak.
- 6:11Speaker 3: But I wanted to get into detail and talk about
- 6:14Speaker 3: the pain that you're dealing with. I would like to
- 6:16Speaker 3: believe you're dealing with it currently.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Correct, Yes, yes, I am. I am the chronic pain
- 6:22Speaker 4: patient due to a car accident. I'm chronic paying patient
- 6:26Speaker 4: to someone that's in constant pain over six months. I've
- 6:30Speaker 4: been in constant paine since twenty fifteen, that was when
- 6:33Speaker 4: my accident occurred. And yeah, I just have to deal
- 6:37Speaker 4: with it when you say that.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Now, right now, there's a. You know, I've had pain.
- 6:42Speaker 3: I was in the hospital for thirty days. I lung collapsed,
- 6:45Speaker 3: and I remember, I'll share this story with everybody. I
- 6:49Speaker 3: remember when I went into hospital. It was in an
- 6:51Speaker 3: emergency and the doctor pulled back the curta and he said,
- 6:54Speaker 3: we don't do immediate surgery on you.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You will die.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I can always remember that statement. And he said that
- 7:00Speaker 3: because my lung had collapsed so much that I you know,
- 7:04Speaker 3: you know it's interesting how you're long when you when
- 7:07Speaker 3: it collapsed, it becomes the size of a quarter. That's
- 7:09Speaker 3: how That's how big it was when it collapsed. And
- 7:12Speaker 3: then and they had to so they had to do
- 7:14Speaker 3: surgery on me by making an incision or right above
- 7:19Speaker 3: my or along my small rib cage to insert a
- 7:22Speaker 3: tube or guess what. They couldn't deaden anything. I had
- 7:26Speaker 3: to feel the incision. I had to feel the two
- 7:32Speaker 3: being inserted in me and deal with the pain. And
- 7:35Speaker 3: I remember, Jackson, it was just it was a moment
- 7:38Speaker 3: where you just had to deal with it. Otherwise the
- 7:43Speaker 3: results wouldn't have came out that would allow me to
- 7:46Speaker 3: talk today. How did you because that was just an incident,
- 7:50Speaker 3: but you're dealing with it twenty four hours a day.
- 7:53Speaker 4: How I think the hard part, and this took a
- 7:57Speaker 4: few years for me, was I was focused on what
- 8:00Speaker 4: I lost. I think the summer before the accident, I
- 8:03Speaker 4: ran the peach tree. I ran the peach tree with
- 8:05Speaker 4: my wife. You know, I used to bike around Thrown
- 8:09Speaker 4: Mountain all the time with my son. So I think
- 8:12Speaker 4: the first three years of this I focused on that,
- 8:15Speaker 4: And then what happened. I started. I met a minister
- 8:20Speaker 4: and she told me, hey, why don't you start focusing
- 8:22Speaker 4: on the things you can do? And then and suggested
- 8:27Speaker 4: I get therapy, on which I did. I got to say,
- 8:31Speaker 4: if you're chronic, paying patient and you don't have a
- 8:34Speaker 4: good mental health team that can help you focus on
- 8:39Speaker 4: those things that can keep your focus and moving forward, yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 4: you're missing a great piece of something that's going to
- 8:48Speaker 4: make you healthy long term. So after after I got
- 8:55Speaker 4: the tools in order to figure out how to focus
- 8:57Speaker 4: on what I could do, what I could do for myself,
- 9:01Speaker 4: what I could do for my family, what I could
- 9:02Speaker 4: do for my community. Then it became like any other
- 9:06Speaker 4: problem I was solving business. I myself. I have always
- 9:12Speaker 4: been told I'm I create a problem solver, problem became Hey,
- 9:16Speaker 4: How do I make How do I make money even
- 9:19Speaker 4: though I can't leave my house? How do I lose
- 9:23Speaker 4: weight even though I'm on pain meds that make me
- 9:27Speaker 4: gain weight? How do I thrive in crime pain even
- 9:30Speaker 4: though I'm on mids that make me suicidal? How do
- 9:33Speaker 4: I deal with the racism that singdemic and pain menacing treatment?
- 9:41Speaker 4: As a middle age black man who often yeah, even
- 9:45Speaker 4: though eighty percent of the people that die from opiate
- 9:49Speaker 4: overdoses are white men and women between the ages of
- 9:52Speaker 4: twenty five and thirty two, I'm stereotyped often when I
- 9:57Speaker 4: go in order to get my medications histor reason I
- 10:00Speaker 4: my book Race Matters and Pay Medicine, How I made money,
- 10:04Speaker 4: Lost ninety pounds and driving fame.
- 10:07Speaker 3: It was interesting because a lot of sickle cell patients
- 10:10Speaker 3: get stereotype as drug users when they come in and
- 10:13Speaker 3: try to seek drug medication because they know what they're
- 10:16Speaker 3: supposed to get and they know they know why they
- 10:20Speaker 3: should be getting it, and people will call them or
- 10:23Speaker 3: accuse them being drug users. So that a lot of
- 10:27Speaker 3: it is due to the fact because they are people
- 10:29Speaker 3: of color, they are offering the minority community and people
- 10:32Speaker 3: are stereotyping them. So I would have to say that
- 10:35Speaker 3: you oftentime was a victim of stereotyping.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Correct.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Yes, yes, even despite the numbers that most of the
- 10:42Speaker 4: people who are dying from this do not look like us.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Wow, it was something you put out there that I
- 10:49Speaker 3: wanted to bring back because in twenty twenty, during COVID,
- 10:52Speaker 3: therapy became a rise in the Black community, you know,
- 10:56Speaker 3: became a normal part of the conversation, the mental health conversation.
- 11:01Speaker 3: A lot of famous people started confessing their issues, a
- 11:05Speaker 3: lot of athletes started confessing their issues with mental health,
- 11:10Speaker 3: and they COVID really sent people over the edge. A
- 11:13Speaker 3: lot of relationships were lost during the COVID period due
- 11:17Speaker 3: to mental strain. Now you said the word therapy. Now
- 11:21Speaker 3: with that a word, did you could share publicly with
- 11:24Speaker 3: your friends, with your people that you cared about as
- 11:27Speaker 3: strangers without being looked upon as a person with a problem.
- 11:32Speaker 4: You know what my favorite chapter in this book is
- 11:38Speaker 4: real Black men don't do therapy. And what's funny about
- 11:44Speaker 4: that is that I only well met Atlanta. We're a
- 11:49Speaker 4: group of African American child and adolescent psychiatrists that work
- 11:53Speaker 4: in the Greater Atlanta area. So I'm surrounded by a
- 11:57Speaker 4: psychiatrists and for whatever and they were telling me, hey, listen,
- 12:02Speaker 4: something's off with you. I think you need therapy, and
- 12:07Speaker 4: I just wasn't hearing it. And it wasn't until what
- 12:14Speaker 4: what happened. I was taking my daughter to the hair store.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Sally's right, yeah, closed the door on my face. I
- 12:22Speaker 4: started yelling at him. He called me an old man,
- 12:25Speaker 4: that this old man can kick your butt. And my
- 12:28Speaker 4: daughter was afraid of me.
- 12:30Speaker 3: And he little jackson that you talk about, the old
- 12:35Speaker 3: man could kick your butt.
- 12:36Speaker 1: That was you.
- 12:37Speaker 4: And I was in a scooter saying this. I can
- 12:41Speaker 4: imagine that I was in a scooter telling some twenty
- 12:45Speaker 4: year old pump okay that could beat him down. And
- 12:49Speaker 4: I had my nine year old daughter there right right,
- 12:53Speaker 4: and she looked at me like I was crazy. And
- 12:56Speaker 4: I came home. I told my wife, Hey, you know
- 12:59Speaker 4: what or right, Adam minimal all the work that I
- 13:04Speaker 4: put into at that time. I put a lot of
- 13:07Speaker 4: work into my diet, dropping weight in order to manage
- 13:09Speaker 4: the pain, had to put any work into my into
- 13:12Speaker 4: my mind. So she helped me find a therapist that
- 13:17Speaker 4: focused in chronic pain and the psychiatrist that did as well.
- 13:21Speaker 4: And the psychiatrist wasn't my saving grace because what she
- 13:24Speaker 4: was able to do was lay out all my meds.
- 13:27Speaker 4: At this time, the pain doctor was giving me meds,
- 13:31Speaker 4: the PCP was giving me meds, the urologists was getting
- 13:36Speaker 4: I was getting meds from everybody, but there was no
- 13:38Speaker 4: one serving as as a quarterback, you know, to basically say, hey,
- 13:43Speaker 4: these meds should go here, these meds shouldn't be here.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Whatever psychiatrists did all that, she was like, Okay, this
- 13:49Speaker 4: is what's making you crazy, it's making me gang weight. Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 4: So basically she got rid of some things, aded some mothers,
- 13:56Speaker 4: and then finally think right and be myself again. It
- 14:02Speaker 4: was it was almost as hey, the person that I
- 14:05Speaker 4: was was gone for years and finally I could think
- 14:08Speaker 4: the way the way I normally did.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, because a lot of people who deal with I
- 14:12Speaker 3: get there. I hear this bipolar illnesses complain about the meds.
- 14:17Speaker 3: They they they often the time they will drop off
- 14:20Speaker 3: of them.
- 14:21Speaker 1: You know. I recently interviewed Will.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Downing and his daughter was bipolar and she committed suicide
- 14:29Speaker 3: January of this year. And so because of the fact
- 14:33Speaker 3: that she got off of meds and because of that
- 14:35Speaker 3: uncomfiden zone, she went into isolation, and of course isolation.
- 14:40Speaker 3: So recently I say that we're about to we're going
- 14:42Speaker 3: to go to a break, but when I come back,
- 14:44Speaker 3: I want to talk about your support groups that got
- 14:47Speaker 3: you through it because of the fact that when you
- 14:49Speaker 3: came back home after that incident, that your daughter, so
- 14:53Speaker 3: you spoke to your wife and that was an important
- 14:56Speaker 3: conversation because that led you to.
- 14:57Speaker 1: The better life that you lived today.
- 14:59Speaker 3: We were right back more money making conversation talking to
- 15:01Speaker 3: mister Jackson Dunbar. We'll be getting to financial fire financial
- 15:06Speaker 3: literacy later on this show, but more importantly How I
- 15:08Speaker 3: Made money his chapters How I Made money, lost ninety
- 15:12Speaker 3: pounds and thrived in chronic pain.
- 15:14Speaker 1: We were bright.
- 15:15Speaker 3: We'll be right back with more money making conversation. More
- 15:17Speaker 3: importantly four zero four eight eight zero nine two five five,
- 15:20Speaker 3: then share your story with us because your story will
- 15:23Speaker 3: help other people get better.
- 15:31Speaker 5: We'll be right back with more money making conversations Masterclass
- 15:35Speaker 5: with Rushawn McDonald. You are now tuned into the money
- 15:40Speaker 5: Making Conversations.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Minute of Inspiration with Rashawn McDonald.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Following tammeron Hall's bittersweet exit from NBC Today's Show more
- 15:48Speaker 3: than two years ago. A lot of people wrote her
- 15:50Speaker 3: off and some said it was a mistake to leave
- 15:52Speaker 3: the show. Well, Tameron Hall has overcome the odds and
- 15:55Speaker 3: now hosts one of the hottest shows in daytime talk.
- 15:58Speaker 6: Most important to me and for me is that folks
- 16:01Speaker 6: who are at home launching know what they're getting. They're
- 16:04Speaker 6: getting a real conversation. I hope they're getting smart questions.
- 16:07Speaker 6: We are looking for substantive ways to make our lives
- 16:10Speaker 6: better as people, as parents. The human experience is a
- 16:15Speaker 6: common thread. At the end of the day. I don't
- 16:17Speaker 6: want someone keeping me from my dream. I don't want
- 16:20Speaker 6: someone you know, standing in my way. I want inspiration.
- 16:23Speaker 6: I want to be a better wife, I want to
- 16:25Speaker 6: be a better daughter, I want to be a better mom.
- 16:27Speaker 6: And so that's a big part of what we talk
- 16:29Speaker 6: about on our show.
- 16:31Speaker 3: If you want to hear this full interview with Tameron Hall,

- 17:52Speaker 3: Hi, there, welcome back to Money Making Conversation Masterclass. I'm
- 17:55Speaker 3: speaking with Jackson Gumbar. If you want to join the conversation,
- 17:59Speaker 3: I want to share your stories about mental health recovery,
- 18:02Speaker 3: accepting the fact that you needed of therapy or in
- 18:06Speaker 3: your life. Because the whole thing about it is that
- 18:08Speaker 3: I'm just trying to create an open line of conversation
- 18:11Speaker 3: that so many people like us, people of color, especially
- 18:14Speaker 3: men who avoid I've told people many times I probably
- 18:17Speaker 3: have dealt with depression many times in my life and
- 18:19Speaker 3: didn't even know it. I just dealt with it. And
- 18:22Speaker 3: you don't have to do that. You don't have to
- 18:24Speaker 3: deal with something by yourself. You don't have to be
- 18:26Speaker 3: a shame that something that's happening in your life that's
- 18:29Speaker 3: making you uncomfortable. And that's what this show really is about.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Money Making Conversations Masterclass. It's a journey into your spirit,
- 18:37Speaker 3: into your soul with information and hopefully these interviews will
- 18:41Speaker 3: motivate you to be honest with yourself, will be motivated,
- 18:44Speaker 3: will motivate you to share your understanding that you can
- 18:48Speaker 3: make a difference in life. That's all I do. I
- 18:50Speaker 3: get up every day trying to make a difference. And
- 18:52Speaker 3: I feel that my interview that I've had for the
- 18:55Speaker 3: second time with Jackson Dunbar, because he impacted a lot
- 18:58Speaker 3: of people the last time he was on the show
- 19:00Speaker 3: and bringing him back on the show really is kind
- 19:03Speaker 3: of like defining his purpose. His purpose is to let
- 19:06Speaker 3: people hear his story and motivate them to be winners.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Am I correct Jackson?
- 19:14Speaker 4: Thank you for having me back?
- 19:16Speaker 3: Well, you know, I'll be honest with you. You know a
- 19:18Speaker 3: lot of people came to including one of my producers,
- 19:21Speaker 3: was recommending that I bring you back and said, Rashan,
- 19:25Speaker 3: we should really look at developing a show especially around
- 19:31Speaker 3: men and mental health men in therapy men and you know,
- 19:35Speaker 3: within the black community, we are you know, we you know,
- 19:39Speaker 3: last high, first fire, last to get the information on
- 19:42Speaker 3: the financial end, last to get information on therapy, scept
- 19:45Speaker 3: the responsibility deny the gay community within our household, deny
- 19:49Speaker 3: there's age in our household. We're such an in denial
- 19:52Speaker 3: community that we're in the end, we are only hurting
- 19:55Speaker 3: ourselves by being misinformed about what we can do. And
- 19:59Speaker 3: when you were I had a book like this, which I
- 20:01Speaker 3: feel is a very, very a purposeful book. How I
- 20:06Speaker 3: Made Money, you know is one of those chapters in
- 20:08Speaker 3: your book. What problem do you select investing as a
- 20:12Speaker 3: money maker?
- 20:13Speaker 4: Well, I think what I did, and I think any
- 20:15Speaker 4: chronic pain patient in my position should do this as well.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Come to the reality that you are limited in what
- 20:25Speaker 4: you can do. Right. If you're lucky with the payments,
- 20:29Speaker 4: you may have a few hours of lucidity at best.
- 20:32Speaker 4: So the question is what's the best way to make
- 20:35Speaker 4: money the biggest bang for the book in that short
- 20:38Speaker 4: amount of time. And for me, it was investing. Let's see,
- 20:42Speaker 4: because of because I have a lot of great in
- 20:44Speaker 4: the NBA, I spent a lot of time crunching numbers
- 20:48Speaker 4: and analyzing trends in my career, so I thought, hey,
- 20:52Speaker 4: why why can't I use that for the stock market.
- 20:57Speaker 4: So essentially what I did was I said, hey, how
- 21:01Speaker 4: much money could I afford to lose on a trip
- 21:04Speaker 4: to Vegas. I'm talking hotel, airfare, gambling, whatnot. I'll without
- 21:11Speaker 4: losing any sleep. So I took those funds and I
- 21:15Speaker 4: started investing. I think, so you're.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Saying, maybe just give us a number of day. I
- 21:20Speaker 3: don't know how what's your trip to Vegas? Are you
- 21:23Speaker 3: on softwares or your first class of Delta?
- 21:25Speaker 1: Do you roll with a do you roll with an
- 21:28Speaker 1: off trip motel? Or you on the strip?
- 21:30Speaker 3: You know in Caesar, please please let us know what
- 21:34Speaker 3: is your version of a Vegas trip Jackson?
- 21:36Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, So hey, I'm way too over Southwest. I'm blind.
- 21:42Speaker 4: I'm staying at Seasons.
- 21:44Speaker 1: There you go.
- 21:45Speaker 4: When I get there, there you go, there you go,
- 21:47Speaker 4: there you go. Okay, So so let's say five to
- 21:50Speaker 4: ten grand.
- 21:51Speaker 1: There you go, there you go.
- 21:52Speaker 3: You working there?
- 21:53Speaker 4: Yeah? Okay, so five to ten grand. And at the
- 21:56Speaker 4: time when I started, interest rates were zero, so everybody
- 22:00Speaker 4: was making money, right, so I figured, hey, I had
- 22:04Speaker 4: more credentials than my financial planner. Why not give it
- 22:08Speaker 4: a shot. First month I turned that I what tripled
- 22:13Speaker 4: that money?
- 22:15Speaker 1: Okay?
- 22:15Speaker 3: Now now now when you say that, now you gotta
- 22:17Speaker 3: slow it down my team, because that's when they get
- 22:19Speaker 3: into this money made conversations massacre. How did you triple
- 22:22Speaker 3: your money? Was it crypto? Because that was a big
- 22:24Speaker 3: that was kind of like the raise here crypto money
- 22:27Speaker 3: get flipped real quick, bigcoin? Did you what? What made
- 22:30Speaker 3: you make decisions on? Will you tech? Where were you
- 22:35Speaker 3: at with your money?
- 22:36Speaker 4: Okay? Where was I at? Neo? I made most of
- 22:41Speaker 4: that money on Neo, and and I did get on
- 22:47Speaker 4: I did get on Bigcoin at four thousand. So TOCI
- 22:50Speaker 4: by accident to this day. If I had put that
- 22:54Speaker 4: money on at Barium, yeah, life, that would have been
- 22:58Speaker 4: life changing. But bigcoin is one of those things is
- 23:03Speaker 4: that you get on at a low but she had
- 23:06Speaker 4: a little cost. Bashes. Leave it alone. You'll come back
- 23:09Speaker 4: a year and bam, there's all this money. That was
- 23:11Speaker 4: what happened to me there at the At the same time, anything.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Stop, Jackson.
- 23:20Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 23:20Speaker 3: You're hurting my feelings over here. Bam, all that money.
- 23:25Speaker 3: It's some people out there, they're by ready to commit suicide.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Listen to this call. I'm telling you we're not trying
- 23:31Speaker 3: to put people in the stress lane when you can't
- 23:34Speaker 3: say bam, all that money, that that that hurts my feeling.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest with you, jack That hurts my feeling.
- 23:40Speaker 4: You know what's funny, Okay, When I started investing, within
- 23:44Speaker 4: a month, I went from my wife leaving the house.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I'm on the sofa in pain. You know how your
- 23:52Speaker 4: wife can look at you if you're not working, She's
- 23:54Speaker 4: got to.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Go to work right right, right, right right.
- 23:58Speaker 4: My wife understands the ID, but still it's like, why
- 24:03Speaker 4: is this guy on the couch and I gotta go out.
- 24:07Speaker 4: I went from that in a month too. Baby, You've
- 24:12Speaker 4: had this skill set our whole life and you never
- 24:15Speaker 4: once thought about using it.
- 24:18Speaker 8: And hey, Jackson, Jackson, you're fine, she said, Baby like that, baby, baby, yes.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Yes, And thirty days I couldn't believe it. Transformation.
- 24:33Speaker 1: She went from cutting to evili You rolled around in
- 24:36Speaker 1: the wheelchair. The baby you got the skill set. I
- 24:40Speaker 1: didn't know you had. Come over here, come over here,
- 24:42Speaker 1: let let's talk. But that, but that skill set.
- 24:45Speaker 3: You know, God is good in a lot of ways
- 24:47Speaker 3: because of the fact that you took advantage of You
- 24:50Speaker 3: could have sat in the corner and complained, took your drugs,
- 24:54Speaker 3: not do therapy, and embarrass your daughter every year on
- 24:58Speaker 3: her birthday because you mad at the life because you
- 25:01Speaker 3: felt sorry for yourself. You know, because of the fact
- 25:04Speaker 3: that you know, right now my knee hurt, but it's
- 25:07Speaker 3: not in chronic pain. Because right now, when I get up,
- 25:10Speaker 3: I'm gonna feel the pain because my knee is at
- 25:12Speaker 3: an angle and I start to walk. I'm a feeling.
- 25:14Speaker 3: But you know, I tend to want to get a
- 25:17Speaker 3: clearer understanding. If you could help me and my listeners,
- 25:23Speaker 3: what is a day in the life of a person
- 25:26Speaker 3: who's in criminal pain from when they get up or
- 25:28Speaker 3: what they try to sleep.
- 25:30Speaker 1: What is that and how does that feel? And how
- 25:32Speaker 1: do you how do you do? What's that day to day?
- 25:34Speaker 1: Out our experience?
- 25:37Speaker 4: Okay, well it starts out with you wake up, Okay,
- 25:42Speaker 4: how do I get out of bed and at least
- 25:45Speaker 4: the amount of pain? Then you go to okay, how
- 25:48Speaker 4: do I do number one or number two and at
- 25:51Speaker 4: least the amount of pain? Then then it's okay. You
- 25:57Speaker 4: have to remember your meade. And I've been taking the
- 26:01Speaker 4: same mass for years. She had forever reason that time
- 26:04Speaker 4: of the day, I always forget. It's always harry to
- 26:07Speaker 4: remember which meant the team, because I got some for
- 26:09Speaker 4: the morning, some for the afternoon, and then some at night.
- 26:14Speaker 4: It takes about an hour and kind of groggy from
- 26:18Speaker 4: my morning managed to kick in. Typically I'm on I'm
- 26:23Speaker 4: on my recliner and I'm sort of in between let's see,
- 26:30Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden, dam, I'm lucid, and
- 26:32Speaker 4: I'm that way for the next few hours. That's when
- 26:36Speaker 4: that's when I'm treating. I'm looking at crypto, I'm looking
- 26:40Speaker 4: at crypto based box, I'm looking at it here Karon
- 26:44Speaker 4: Hunter had me on her show back in April. I
- 26:47Speaker 4: told her, Ribbean, is she I hope she listened to me,
- 26:50Speaker 4: Because she did, she would have more than she would
- 26:52Speaker 4: have almost tripled her money. I think it was straightening
- 26:55Speaker 4: her by nine dollars to share again. I think it's
- 26:57Speaker 4: somewhere around twenty five twenty six now. So I so
- 27:03Speaker 4: I look at the trends and then I tell everyone, hey, hey, listen,
- 27:08Speaker 4: if you want to trade, find find other people who
- 27:11Speaker 4: like the trade as well, because what ends up happening
- 27:14Speaker 4: is that all former community and I might be a
- 27:18Speaker 4: car guy, you might be a commodities guy. You may
- 27:22Speaker 4: have them on up. That's a crypto guy. Anyway, we're
- 27:26Speaker 4: all looking at different aspects of the market, and you
- 27:28Speaker 4: may find something that I don't know about that makes money,
- 27:32Speaker 4: and vice versa. So we have a meeting, we discuss
- 27:35Speaker 4: all of that, and then I go about the business
- 27:38Speaker 4: of making some money. Afterwards, the meds were off, the
- 27:44Speaker 4: pain becomes sharp. I wait until about four or so
- 27:48Speaker 4: to take my afternoon meds. Then the pain is really bad.
- 27:53Speaker 4: I will hopefully make it to the pool swim stretch,
- 27:58Speaker 4: and then by around eight nine o'clock I'm just on
- 28:02Speaker 4: the floor waiting to take the afternoon edge that will
- 28:06Speaker 4: put me to sleep, maybe around midnight, and then I
- 28:09Speaker 4: do it all over again. Wow.
- 28:11Speaker 3: I want to thank you for sharing that that story.
- 28:15Speaker 3: That's an honest story, and I want you to stick around.
- 28:18Speaker 3: And I want to get back to the financial investing
- 28:21Speaker 3: because we only tip of the ice careaer. I want
- 28:23Speaker 3: the people understand your value. And also you're in the
- 28:26Speaker 3: healthcare field as well, correct Jackson.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Yes, Yes, psychiatry child i'le and adult psychiatry.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Cool.
- 28:34Speaker 3: We want to talk about that a little bit. But
- 28:36Speaker 3: more importantly, I just wanted to talk to my audience
- 28:38Speaker 3: for a minute about not only fiscal responsibility but mental responsibility. Well,
- 28:44Speaker 3: I look at my life, you know, it was really interesting, Jackson.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I will start thinking about what I didn't do in
- 28:50Speaker 3: my life. You know, that's a that's a that's a place, man,
- 28:53Speaker 3: where you can wallow and pity. And if I had
- 28:57Speaker 3: done this, this could happen. If I'd done this, this
- 29:00Speaker 3: could happen if I'd have went over here, if I wouldn't,
- 29:02Speaker 3: And we can never get into that point in our
- 29:05Speaker 3: lives and regret what we've done. We should only focus
- 29:10Speaker 3: on what we can do and plan a better life,
- 29:13Speaker 3: not only for yourself but for your family. And that
- 29:17Speaker 3: was one of the primary reasons Jackson, I wanted to
- 29:19Speaker 3: bring you back on the show because I felt our
- 29:23Speaker 3: interview was fantastic, but I really wanted people hear the
- 29:28Speaker 3: sacrifices that your family makes due to this accident related
- 29:32Speaker 3: injury that came into your life. You didn't plan on
- 29:34Speaker 3: living a life of chronic paining. Like you said, you
- 29:36Speaker 3: was bike riding, he was done the Peach Tree five
- 29:40Speaker 3: k race, and so you was active. But you did
- 29:43Speaker 3: not let a negative win in your life. And that's
- 29:48Speaker 3: important and that's part of your motivation now I would
- 29:51Speaker 3: assume correct.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Yes, yes, And when you cat I call it the
- 29:59Speaker 4: dark and the light side of the force. Okay, standing
- 30:03Speaker 4: on that dark side, only focus on the things you
- 30:05Speaker 4: can't No, nothing but misery over there. When you make
- 30:11Speaker 4: your life one hundred about what can I do to
- 30:15Speaker 4: maximize my life in the three or four hours I
- 30:19Speaker 4: have a day, You'll be You'll be shocked at just
- 30:23Speaker 4: what your mind comes up with. And you have time
- 30:27Speaker 4: to be us around or any of this other stuff
- 30:29Speaker 4: you got to get you to get the business and
- 30:32Speaker 4: that's how and that's how I focus myself.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Remember this, if you planning a vacation, think about it twice.
- 30:38Speaker 1: You might want to invest.
