- 1:43Speaker 5: I probably got to turn out to turn out the
- 1:47Speaker 5: water the mony.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Look me, come me, come out, You think that I
- 2:02Speaker 3: sure will? Good morning everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 7: You are listening to the voice, Come on, dig me
- 2:07Speaker 7: now one and only see Harvey got a radio show,
- 2:11Speaker 7: Yeah man, got one.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Hey.
- 2:14Speaker 7: You know, I think of my life in terms of blessings.
- 2:18Speaker 7: You know, I take mostly a positive approach and a
- 2:22Speaker 7: positive spin to my life. I hardly ever dwell on
- 2:27Speaker 7: you know, the what's well. I can't say that I
- 2:29Speaker 7: don't think about the what's wrong in it because I
- 2:32Speaker 7: have to, because I have to address problems as they arise.
- 2:35Speaker 7: But I try not to let them consume me. I
- 2:40Speaker 7: let the consumption part be about the blessings, the positive
- 2:44Speaker 7: things that has occurred in my life, the good things
- 2:47Speaker 7: that God has done for me, the power that He's
- 2:51Speaker 7: displayed in my life, the protection he's given me over
- 2:55Speaker 7: the years to being tucked under his wings. I focus
- 2:58Speaker 7: on the things that he promises me. I think of
- 3:02Speaker 7: all the goodness that I perceive to come my way.
- 3:05Speaker 7: I think that has a lot to do with me
- 3:07Speaker 7: learning more and more about the law of attraction in
- 3:11Speaker 7: terms of you know, what you think and what you
- 3:14Speaker 7: put out in the space, and what you pray about
- 3:16Speaker 7: is what you receive. You know, and so I've become
- 3:20Speaker 7: better and better at that. It's not to say that
- 3:23Speaker 7: I'm not human and I don't have moments where I
- 3:27Speaker 7: think a little bit too long about what's going wrong
- 3:30Speaker 7: and what enemy is about to attack and what they're
- 3:32Speaker 7: going to do and say and and all of this
- 3:35Speaker 7: his That's not to say that I'm not concerned about it.
- 3:38Speaker 7: But I try to dwell mostly on the positive. And
- 3:41Speaker 7: one of the things that I learned, you can have
- 3:44Speaker 7: an incredible life, all of us. We can have incredible
- 3:49Speaker 7: lives if we just let God drive.
- 3:53Speaker 3: See. The problem that I had years ago was I
- 3:57Speaker 3: was the driver of my life, and.
- 4:00Speaker 7: I was taking myself in the directions that I thought
- 4:04Speaker 7: would be best for me, and I aimed at things
- 4:07Speaker 7: that I thought I could accomplish, and I set goals
- 4:11Speaker 7: that I saw myself being able to attain. I was
- 4:16Speaker 7: driving when I gave up and I let God drive.
- 4:20Speaker 7: I then opened up my mind and my spirit to
- 4:25Speaker 7: what God had for me, For what God could see
- 4:29Speaker 7: for me, for what God could do in my life, well,
- 4:32Speaker 7: for what God wanted for me. Now he wanted for
- 4:37Speaker 7: me and he wanted of me. See that's the connection
- 4:42Speaker 7: that you got to try to make. Well, I'm not tried.
- 4:44Speaker 7: That's the connection that you got to make to really
- 4:47Speaker 7: get it. Now, listen to me. What I don't want
- 4:49Speaker 7: you to do is do like me. Don't be afraid
- 4:52Speaker 7: of the what for of the what he wants you
- 4:55Speaker 7: to do part see, because that ain't gonna be nearly
- 4:58Speaker 7: as demanding and as all setting as you think it's
- 5:01Speaker 7: gonna be.
- 5:01Speaker 3: See.
- 5:02Speaker 7: I thought that if I did God's will, that if
- 5:05Speaker 7: I let God tell me what to do, that it
- 5:08Speaker 7: would cause me to not to be able to do
- 5:10Speaker 7: a certain some things I wanted to do well, which
- 5:13Speaker 7: is true. But the stuff I wanted to do was
- 5:15Speaker 7: all detrimental to my well being and my future and
- 5:19Speaker 7: my growth and development as a man. I was stopping
- 5:23Speaker 7: my own growth as a man because see, I was
- 5:25Speaker 7: doing what I thought I should do as a man.
- 5:28Speaker 7: But when you give it over to God. See, God
- 5:31Speaker 7: has a much better plan for you than you can
- 5:33Speaker 7: ever have for yourself. And God knows a better way,
- 5:36Speaker 7: far better than the one you know. I want you
- 5:38Speaker 7: to believe that. Man, You got to understand that part
- 5:40Speaker 7: of it. And that's the part that I finally got
- 5:43Speaker 7: through my head to let God do it his way
- 5:46Speaker 7: and to show me a better way, and to teach
- 5:49Speaker 7: me a better way and expose to me a better way.
- 5:52Speaker 7: And when I opened up my mind to what God
- 5:55Speaker 7: was talking about, I began to see things totally differently,
- 5:59Speaker 7: and things started coming to me totally differently. If you've
- 6:03Speaker 7: been a friend of mine or a fan of mine
- 6:06Speaker 7: over the years, I mean, you've had to see it,
- 6:09Speaker 7: the change. You've had to see the difference I mean,
- 6:13Speaker 7: And I acknowledge that every chance I get, because I
- 6:16Speaker 7: promised God I would, and I hope that I'm not
- 6:19Speaker 7: falling short in that category. But then again, if I
- 6:22Speaker 7: told it all day long would he done for me?
- 6:25Speaker 7: I still wouldn't have enough time to really explain thoroughly
- 6:29Speaker 7: what He's done for me, because it's such a continuous
- 6:31Speaker 7: growth in me. But now that's not to say that
- 6:35Speaker 7: I'm finished or I'm done or I'm complete, because I'm
- 6:39Speaker 7: still shock.
- 6:41Speaker 3: You can't be him.
- 6:43Speaker 7: You can strive for perfection. I hear people saying it
- 6:45Speaker 7: all the time. I applaud you for saying you want
- 6:47Speaker 7: to be perfect, but you ain't and you can't. So
- 6:51Speaker 7: you quit saying it. You quit saying it to me,
- 6:53Speaker 7: quit saying it to other people. I'm seeking a life
- 6:56Speaker 7: of perfection, but it's something that you cannot have because
- 7:00Speaker 7: he said you can't do it.
- 7:02Speaker 3: But that's what he'd have for.
- 7:03Speaker 7: He'd have for the moments when you stumble and you fall,
- 7:06Speaker 7: and you go stumble and fall. See, you got to
- 7:08Speaker 7: get that part right, man, The stumbling falling part is coming.
- 7:12Speaker 7: But see, you get God in your life and it
- 7:14Speaker 7: helps you so that you.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Don't stumble, fall, wallow, roll, over lay their languish. That's
- 7:21Speaker 3: what God is for.
- 7:22Speaker 7: So when you stumbling, fall, you get back up because
- 7:26Speaker 7: you're going to make mistakes, You're going to get it wrong,
- 7:29Speaker 7: You're going to come under attack, You're going to be
- 7:33Speaker 7: lied about, you are going to be falsely accused.
- 7:36Speaker 3: That's going to happen to you.
- 7:38Speaker 7: The moment you make a decision to do better, the
- 7:41Speaker 7: moment you try to be more. The devil got to
- 7:44Speaker 7: send his attackers, man, and he controls certain people. He
- 7:48Speaker 7: just got people that's on his side twenty four seven.
- 7:51Speaker 3: You know him too.
- 7:52Speaker 7: You've all met one or two of them in your life.
- 7:55Speaker 7: They just busy with the business of nothingness. They just
- 8:00Speaker 7: about the destruction of others. You said, I know them,
- 8:04Speaker 7: you know them. They coming. But here's what you gotta
- 8:07Speaker 7: hold fast too. They can't take away nothing from you
- 8:11Speaker 7: that God gave you. They didn't make you. See, people
- 8:15Speaker 7: who claim to have made you, if they so in
- 8:19Speaker 7: to make you business, why don't they make theyself? Or
- 8:22Speaker 7: if they ain't with you no more? And they so
- 8:24Speaker 7: busy in them I made you business, why don't they
- 8:28Speaker 7: make somebody else? Since you want to get credit for
- 8:31Speaker 7: making somebody make yourself. If you're responsible for someone else's success,
- 8:38Speaker 7: then you should easily be able to take claim and
- 8:41Speaker 7: be responsible for your own success. See, be careful of that.
- 8:45Speaker 7: Don't and don't change your course because somebody is attacking
- 8:49Speaker 7: you with that.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I just hope, man, that I'm giving it to God
- 8:53Speaker 3: the way I.
- 8:53Speaker 7: Said I would give it to him that I would
- 8:55Speaker 7: unload every chance I got that I was supposed to
- 8:59Speaker 7: without being you know, or here he come again.
- 9:01Speaker 8: You know.
- 9:01Speaker 7: I try not to be that, but man, I don't
- 9:04Speaker 7: know what else to be for the first twelve minutes
- 9:05Speaker 7: of my show. What else you want me to say?
- 9:07Speaker 7: I got four hours? I can't give God twelve twelve minutes, man,
- 9:12Speaker 7: I mean, for real, Steve, come on, man, I mean,
- 9:14Speaker 7: let's look at this right here. If you've given honor
- 9:17Speaker 7: to God just twelve minutes out the day, dog, he
- 9:20Speaker 7: gave you twenty four hours of luxury and life and
- 9:24Speaker 7: breath and hope and promise, you ain't got twelve minutes
- 9:27Speaker 7: to give him out the day.
- 9:28Speaker 3: That don't make no sense. What in exchange?
- 9:31Speaker 7: What a wonderful life God has given me in exchange
- 9:34Speaker 7: for so small of effort that I put forth. Don't
- 9:37Speaker 7: let the effort you got to put forth to God
- 9:39Speaker 7: seem so dawning that you don't attempt to do it,
- 9:42Speaker 7: because man, it seems like a lot.
- 9:44Speaker 3: It ain't nothing to compare to what He be giving
- 9:46Speaker 3: us for real.
- 9:47Speaker 7: So if you want a real life, you want a
- 9:48Speaker 7: real shot at what you can be, what you can have,
- 9:50Speaker 7: what you can own, what you can become who you
- 9:53Speaker 7: really are.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Go to God, let him fix you.
- 9:55Speaker 6: Man.
- 9:56Speaker 3: That's all.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

- 56:18Speaker 3: got it for you here it is Strawberry Letter.
- 56:20Speaker 11: All right, nephew, thank you. Subject, there's always an odor.
- 56:25Speaker 11: Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm married to a man that works
- 56:28Speaker 11: hard and he plays hard. He's the king of his
- 56:30Speaker 11: castle and he does the cooking and cleaning at the house.
- 56:34Speaker 11: Me being the queen that I am, I let him
- 56:36Speaker 11: do what needs to be done. But there are times
- 56:39Speaker 11: that he needs help with some things. He's a country
- 56:42Speaker 11: boy and he fries bacon early in the morning. He
- 56:45Speaker 11: eats sardines, He likes chittlings, for the holidays, and he
- 56:49Speaker 11: likes to hunt and will bring home whatever he's killed
- 56:53Speaker 11: after it's treated, and he'll cook that too. My husband
- 56:57Speaker 11: usually smells like a hot mess. My house usually smells
- 57:02Speaker 11: like a hot mess with his stinky food. Then there's
- 57:05Speaker 11: the fact that he doesn't shower after he's been in
- 57:08Speaker 11: there cooking all day. I have to tell him that
- 57:11Speaker 11: he'd better not touch our bed before he watches washes
- 57:14Speaker 11: his body.
- 57:14Speaker 1: And his hair. The other night, he had my sheet
- 57:17Speaker 1: smelling like.
- 57:18Speaker 11: A smoker because he got in bed after slow cooking
- 57:21Speaker 11: a brisket. He's always in need of a scrub down,
- 57:24Speaker 11: and I do not mind helping him get clean in
- 57:27Speaker 11: the shower so he won't smell so manly. He's proud
- 57:32Speaker 11: of his smells and his stinking food. He smokes cigars
- 57:35Speaker 11: and he started back smoking weed. I'm telling you, he
- 57:39Speaker 11: can't do anything without a strong smell attached to it.
- 57:43Speaker 11: Imagine how his favorite combat style bootsmell after he's been
- 57:47Speaker 11: working hard in them all day.
- 57:49Speaker 1: It's like nothing to him.
- 57:51Speaker 11: Because he leaves them in the kitchen by the door
- 57:53Speaker 11: instead of leaving them in the garage. After twelve years
- 57:56Speaker 11: of marriage, it's hopeless I want to give him, give
- 58:00Speaker 11: him an ultimatum to be more aware of his cleanliness,
- 58:03Speaker 11: but I don't want to be mean. He really is
- 58:06Speaker 11: a sweet man, but there's always an odor. If this
- 58:10Speaker 11: is my only complaint, do I sound silly to be
- 58:13Speaker 11: so irritated by this? Or can I tell him to
- 58:16Speaker 11: do better? Well, yeah, you can tell him to do better,
- 58:19Speaker 11: and this might be your only complaint, but this is
- 58:21Speaker 11: a major, major complaint. Come on, now, you said he
- 58:26Speaker 11: does the cooking and the cleaning, Well maybe you need
- 58:28Speaker 11: to start cooking and especially cleaning since you can't do this,
- 58:33Speaker 11: not even if it's your husband. So you're saying he's
- 58:36Speaker 11: a great guy, but he stinks. That's what you're saying.
- 58:39Speaker 6: You can't do this.
- 58:41Speaker 11: Cleanliness and smells. It's just a deal breaker, a bad smell.
- 58:46Speaker 11: It's just a deal breaker for me. It should be
- 58:48Speaker 11: for you and everyone else.
- 58:49Speaker 1: You gotta be clean.
- 58:51Speaker 11: Why would you want to mix with somebody else's I
- 58:54Speaker 11: don't understand that. And yes, again, you can tell him
- 58:57Speaker 11: whatever you need to tell him. He's your husband. You
- 59:01Speaker 11: gotta let him know. Baby, I love you. You're a
- 59:04Speaker 11: great man. We've been married for twelve years. But you
- 59:07Speaker 11: gotta clean yourself up. We gotta clean this house up,
- 59:09Speaker 11: get these smells out of here. It's all too much.
- 59:13Speaker 11: And don't even think about sounding silly to be so
- 59:17Speaker 11: irritated by this. Yeah, you can tell him to do better,
- 59:19Speaker 11: and he needs to do better.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Tommy.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Ugh, there's always cloocks. We're gonna have to put some
- 59:28Speaker 3: cloorocks everywhere in order for us to get through the
- 59:32Speaker 3: drama that we're going. I'm trying to figure out. I'm
- 59:34Speaker 3: trying to close my eyes and just try to imagine
- 59:39Speaker 3: all the nasty that you've been laid out for us.
- 59:41Speaker 3: We got bacon going, we got sardines and chippling's going,
- 59:44Speaker 3: all them three things like that. Have you ever had
- 59:47Speaker 3: all that cooking at work time? Sardines, bacon, chitting. That's
- 59:51Speaker 3: a lot. The kitchen has absorbed a lot right there already.
- 59:55Speaker 3: All right, then we got we got stuff he didn't kill,
- 59:58Speaker 3: not not calling Shirley. That's what that means. Outside, We
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: got a deal hanging out there.
- 1:00:03Speaker 11: He dead.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: You know that, don't you. We got a couple of
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: raccoons out there. They dead, Okay, we find to cut
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: them up and they find to be something to eat,
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: so we you know, we h yeah, yeah, we gotta
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: we gotta clean that up. We got don't get me rope.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: We got a hog, got there, the hog dead, We
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: waiting to eat him. We got all this dead rope,
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: all this dead kill laying out there. That's just just
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: thinking too. So now the whole patio toe up. Y'all
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: understand this, This is all the stuff we got around
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: this house. Y'all gotta understand how we live it. We
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: living in the woods. Evidently we are living in the woods.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Okay, now, now he.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Brings his nesty behind the bed. Now the now the
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: sheets smell like a smoker. You understand, Keep it out
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: a little. We're doing We were done, stuck up everything.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: On top of all this, he got the narrative, fire
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: up some weed at a cigare We gotta what.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Is we doing?
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: You got too You got too many. You do too much.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Either you're gonna smoke cigars and sit down, or you're
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: gonna be a hunter and sit down. You can't be
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: a chef, hunter, smoker, You can't be all these things.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: You got to pick one so we can figure out
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: how we can fix that problem. We got too many problems. Now,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: listen to these boots. We need to put these boots.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: I'm not even up for these boots being in the garage.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: I'm not These boots need to be on the back
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: of his truck. And when he get ready to go somewhere,
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: he reached back there and grab them boots. But them
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: boots don't need to come in the garage or the house.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: But you got a nasty man. Because see now you're
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: talking about you. You don't mind getting in there in
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: the shower washing him. He don't even know how to
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: wash himself.
- 1:01:41Speaker 12: This is a problem.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: You got a nasty man. And then you got the
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: nurse saying he's a nice guy. It's a nice It's
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: a lot of nice nasty men. But don't nobody want
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: them at their house? Said, you got a nasty man.
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: You gotta really make a decision. Do you want to
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: live the rest of your life like this? Because guess what,
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: he not gonna change his nasty for you.
- 1:02:03Speaker 11: Waste.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: He's been nasty for twelve years. Hein none changed. The
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: saudine has been the same them, chittling has been the same.
- 1:02:11Speaker 8: Them.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: Chittleness should have been a dead giveaway. Who's eating that
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: every day?
- 1:02:14Speaker 12: Who?
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: Who?
- 1:02:16Speaker 9: No?
- 1:02:16Speaker 8: No?
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Just for the holiday?
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: And we and guess what. Let me tell you something
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: about them chitlings. They ain't clean. You know he ain't
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: clean it You know they're not clean. All right, Hang on, nephew,
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: if you sleeping with him, it's something wrong with you.

- 1:03:28Speaker 11: There's always an odor and right there has turned a
- 1:03:31Speaker 11: lot of people off. This woman is married to a
- 1:03:33Speaker 11: man that she says, works hard, plays hard. He's a
- 1:03:36Speaker 11: king of his castle. He does all the cooking and
- 1:03:39Speaker 11: cleaning in his house. They've been married for twelve years.
- 1:03:43Speaker 11: She calls herself a queen, and she lets him do
- 1:03:45Speaker 11: what needs to be done well, according to the title,
- 1:03:49Speaker 11: what needs to be done is to get these odors out,
- 1:03:51Speaker 11: clean yourself up, she says.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: He comes to bed sometimes smoking.
- 1:03:55Speaker 11: The bed smells like a smoke house because you know,
- 1:03:58Speaker 11: I guess, he doesn't walk before he gets to bed.
- 1:04:01Speaker 11: She has to get in the shower with him and
- 1:04:03Speaker 11: help him shower and clean up and everything. He's a
- 1:04:06Speaker 11: grown man. They've been married for twelve years. He had
- 1:04:10Speaker 11: her sheet smelling like a smoker. His shoes smell horrible,
- 1:04:14Speaker 11: His combat boots smell terrible. He smokes cigars. He just
- 1:04:18Speaker 11: started smoking weed. He cooks chillings in the house, bacon
- 1:04:22Speaker 11: every morning, which is nothing wrong with that, But come on, now,
- 1:04:26Speaker 11: you gotta let some of this stuff air out.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: She wants to know.
- 1:04:30Speaker 11: She doesn't want to be mean, she says, because he's
- 1:04:33Speaker 11: a really sweet man, but there's always an odor so
- 1:04:36Speaker 11: she says, if this is her only complaint, does she
- 1:04:39Speaker 11: sounds silly real sweet to be irritated by this?
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: And can she she's asking us, can she tell him
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: to do better?
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: Junior?

- 1:13:48Speaker 11: wouldn't stop crying. My son is only fifteen. I went
- 1:13:53Speaker 11: down to the school and had words with the principal
- 1:13:55Speaker 11: because back in the day, we had to man up
- 1:13:58Speaker 11: if we got our hearts broken before, during, or after school.
- 1:14:02Speaker 11: My son does not like the girl because she dated
- 1:14:04Speaker 11: one of his teammates. I do feel bad for the
- 1:14:07Speaker 11: young lady, But what am I supposed to do about that?

- 1:14:22Speaker 12: Right?
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: I know y'all ain't got me down here off my
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: job though.

- 1:14:48Speaker 13: He didn't do anything right.
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: What are we talking about when we get that? What's
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: the meaning to get back together?

- 1:15:30Speaker 10: She dated my teammate. I didn't care, but that that
- 1:15:34Speaker 10: means going through something he's do. You know what the
- 1:15:36Speaker 10: pressure it is to keep breaking hearts. It's a lot
- 1:15:38Speaker 10: of pressure that nobody's asked about how he's doing. I'm
- 1:15:44Speaker 10: the third about on your boy. Yeah, check on your boy,
- 1:15:47Speaker 10: because that's what I had to go. Somebody had to
- 1:15:49Speaker 10: check on me because I'm killing him in high school.
- 1:15:51Speaker 10: That's what I was going through, all right. I wasn't

- 1:17:09Speaker 10: Being sex at fifteen is very difficult. And y'all are
- 1:17:12Speaker 10: sitting there disrespecting this young man. This young man, he
- 1:17:15Speaker 10: needs counseling, He needs therapy. Let's say we was in
