- 1:16Speaker 1: and I saw him boy and saw him in A
- 1:18Speaker 1: long time owner the Haberdasher in Dallas, Texas, designer and
- 1:22Speaker 1: stylus at best dressed Man. He's a it's a clothing brand.
- 1:26Speaker 1: He's he's a He's a man who when I walk
- 1:28Speaker 1: in a room, he makes me look better because guess what,
- 1:30Speaker 1: he's put clothes on my body. One of the famous
- 1:33Speaker 1: people he's dressed for a long time has been comedian,
- 1:36Speaker 1: entrepreneur world. I guess he's a global brand now. Steve Harvey,
- 1:40Speaker 1: please welcome to Money Making Conversation. O'Keene Habbi, Good morning,
- 1:45Speaker 1: Good morning, Sean. How are you doing. Oh I saw
- 1:49Speaker 1: you man, I looked down at you was down there
- 1:51Speaker 1: right in front of me. Mary. I just stopped talking
- 1:53Speaker 1: and lean over and shaking hand. How are you doing,
- 1:55Speaker 1: my friend? I am good and happy to be here
- 1:59Speaker 1: then this morning. Glad to have you glad to have
- 2:02Speaker 1: an engl on your show. Bro. Well, let me just
- 2:05Speaker 1: talk about your brain, what you're trying to do and
- 2:08Speaker 1: how long have you been doing it? Uh? How do
- 2:10Speaker 1: you like, like a talent like Steve Harvey Woods one
- 2:13Speaker 1: of your clients at the time we made How do
- 2:17Speaker 1: you how do you create a relationship with a client,
- 2:19Speaker 1: celebrities or every day? How do you do that? How
- 2:21Speaker 1: do you do that? Um? Actually, you know, UM, when
- 2:25Speaker 1: we created the clothing store in here and Dallas, one
- 2:29Speaker 1: of my first top which is a silhouette images of men.
- 2:33Speaker 1: H That's when I met uh, comedians like Steve Heavy,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you know, before he you know, before his global Um,
- 2:42Speaker 1: I mean then that he is today, you know. So
- 2:44Speaker 1: we met at the fashion show, you know, and you
- 2:47Speaker 1: know we became friends, and I had the opportunity to, um,
- 2:51Speaker 1: to clothe him and to help him out, you know,
- 2:54Speaker 1: with his wardrobe. Actually with the first TV show, which
- 2:58Speaker 1: is a lot of people don't know me and the boys,
- 3:01Speaker 1: you know, I clothed at him at the show. I'm
- 3:04Speaker 1: sure you know what I'm talking about. And also I
- 3:06Speaker 1: walked with him, you know, while he was traveling all
- 3:09Speaker 1: over the country. And then I get to meet people
- 3:13Speaker 1: like said, there the tenor and you know more other
- 3:16Speaker 1: comedians and celebrities and pastors and leaders and tv uh,
- 3:22Speaker 1: you know, executives all over the world. That's when I
- 3:26Speaker 1: get to meet you as well. Absolutely so that that's
- 3:28Speaker 1: why we maintain this friendship today. That's when I saw
- 3:31Speaker 1: you with I said, I be you gotta do my show.
- 3:34Speaker 1: He said, Hey, Roan, call me. You know, I'll be there. Now.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Let's talk about because you and the I guess they
- 3:39Speaker 1: would will we say the tailor made business. You make
- 3:41Speaker 1: tailored suits that to to to fit the man. Correct,
- 3:46Speaker 1: that's what you do, correct, Okay? Cool? Custom clothing, custom clothes.
- 3:49Speaker 1: What is the difference between off rack suits versus a
- 3:53Speaker 1: custom suit? What the difference between this? You know a
- 3:57Speaker 1: lot of people, um, they don't know the difference between
- 4:02Speaker 1: the off right and UH and custom. But that's what
- 4:05Speaker 1: we want to talk about this morning. Custom suit is
- 4:08Speaker 1: something that you know that you made first to fast.
- 4:11Speaker 1: It would be uh, something that would be pacifically made
- 4:15Speaker 1: for you and not for the whole community. You know.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And when you want to make a custom suit, you know,
- 4:22Speaker 1: or you get to meet your haberdashall your you know,
- 4:25Speaker 1: your designer somebody like like myself, and then you get
- 4:29Speaker 1: to choose your own fabric. You get to choose your
- 4:31Speaker 1: own style. And then you know, we take your measurement.
- 4:34Speaker 1: You know, we take about party or starry to tharty
- 4:38Speaker 1: five measurements. You know, off your body, you know, from
- 4:41Speaker 1: your shoulder, your chairs, your tossle, you know, your heaps,
- 4:45Speaker 1: your your biceps. If even the way you wear your
- 4:48Speaker 1: clothes or the way you wear your watch is unlike
- 4:51Speaker 1: um or like offering cloth. Offering clothes is something that's
- 4:55Speaker 1: made for the for the public. You know, it's made
- 4:58Speaker 1: for the you know it is, it's just for the
- 5:01Speaker 1: for everybody, you know. But but when you come to
- 5:04Speaker 1: custom clothes, it's one of the kind and the guests
- 5:07Speaker 1: to have your name on it just specifically made for you,
- 5:10Speaker 1: and it will made for your lifestyle and for what
- 5:13Speaker 1: you do, and you know, for the occasion that you
- 5:16Speaker 1: are going into. You know, so that's the difference between
- 5:19Speaker 1: our custom and off right and again off right suit.
- 5:24Speaker 1: You know, um you will see that it's made out
- 5:26Speaker 1: of a cheap quality sometimes, but custom suit would be
- 5:31Speaker 1: made out of a good quality, one of a kind quality.
- 5:34Speaker 1: And then what you see the the product. They after
- 5:38Speaker 1: the after products. You know, you see the lining is matching,
- 5:43Speaker 1: you see the plant is its coordinating. You know, it's
- 5:46Speaker 1: different from from our of fright, so you know where
- 5:50Speaker 1: where they just are cut five hundred, one thousand suits
- 5:53Speaker 1: at the same time. But the custom suits, you know,
- 5:56Speaker 1: we'll make this one at a time and you have
- 5:59Speaker 1: to wait for custom suit. You know, everything that's good,
- 6:03Speaker 1: you know it was with with the fall. Let me
- 6:05Speaker 1: let me, let me, let me, let me say something
- 6:07Speaker 1: about that because a lot of people, you know, prices
- 6:10Speaker 1: are I wear suits today and some people don't. They
- 6:13Speaker 1: that's a new suit fifteen years old, ten years old.
- 6:17Speaker 1: That's what you get when you buy a custom suit
- 6:19Speaker 1: and long term quality and so so over that same period,
- 6:23Speaker 1: you know, you may buy maybe four or five suits.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I'm still wearing the same suit because it was designed
- 6:29Speaker 1: for my body. See, when you're going to a store,
- 6:31Speaker 1: they have a suit on the rack, and then they're
- 6:33Speaker 1: gonna they're gonna they're gonna start messing with the structure
- 6:35Speaker 1: of the suit to fit your body. Soon they start
- 6:39Speaker 1: messing with the structure of the suit. The suits damaged.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I don't care what they tell you. The suits been
- 6:43Speaker 1: damaged now because of the fact that you have to
- 6:46Speaker 1: they have to do. There's just so many different ways
- 6:48Speaker 1: you have to shape that. If you're a customer suit,
- 6:51Speaker 1: it's fitted to your body and so it lays correctly,
- 6:55Speaker 1: and it lasts a long time, and it's lays in
- 6:57Speaker 1: your crowchair, your back. If you don't want pockets in
- 6:59Speaker 1: the back, I don't want suits with pants. I don't
- 7:01Speaker 1: like pants pockets and the backside. So none of my
- 7:04Speaker 1: pants I asked for that they don't. They say, Okay,
- 7:07Speaker 1: you don't want that. You don't want that. So if
- 7:09Speaker 1: I go into store, I can't get that so mad
- 7:12Speaker 1: because I got there, you go right there, and so
- 7:16Speaker 1: so I just wanted to I wanted to slow that
- 7:17Speaker 1: down a little bit on my show today because you know,
- 7:20Speaker 1: I've talked about luxury lifestyle. I'm just trying to everybody
- 7:23Speaker 1: to know on this show today is about affordability and
- 7:26Speaker 1: accountability and also if you just slow down for a
- 7:29Speaker 1: minute before you just start, I can't afford that you're grangers.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I was just running over there there and I'm not
- 7:36Speaker 1: I'm not putting out man swear halls. I'm not putting
- 7:38Speaker 1: out soup mark I'm not putting out d and K.
- 7:41Speaker 1: That's what they do. But I'm just letting you know
- 7:43Speaker 1: that there are options out there if you just expand
- 7:46Speaker 1: your own rise and just a little bit and go.
- 7:48Speaker 1: You know something, if I spend two hundred dollars more.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald's telling me, if I go to Hobby get
- 7:54Speaker 1: a soup made in Dallas, Texas, guess what, it's gonna
- 7:57Speaker 1: last me ten fifteen years. I kid you not look it.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I kid you not have suits unless I've gained weight.
- 8:03Speaker 1: That's only I might. I'll grow him, I might, I'll
- 8:04Speaker 1: weigh them. But then I guess what. I lost sixteen
- 8:07Speaker 1: pounds on back in him, So I guess what. I
- 8:09Speaker 1: pulled them right off that at that closet. Every SHU
- 8:11Speaker 1: back and stop stop. The other day when the producers
- 8:14Speaker 1: came and he goo, is that a new suit? I said, yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 1: but it wasn't because it was a custom made suit.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And that's what you do when you get that brand.
- 8:26Speaker 1: And so I wanted to definitely put that out there.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And I want to talk about your thin man, your
- 8:31Speaker 1: short man, heavy set man, tall man, athletic man. Every
- 8:35Speaker 1: suit fits them difference different. How do you make a
- 8:38Speaker 1: decision when somebody comes in. You know, let's let's go,
- 8:40Speaker 1: let's go to extreme dude with a pope billy, big billy,
- 8:44Speaker 1: how do you how do you shape that suit to
- 8:46Speaker 1: fit that body? Okay? Uh? The fall you want to
- 8:51Speaker 1: for heavy set man, you know he's not short, you
- 8:58Speaker 1: know you want to you want to to avoid a
- 9:02Speaker 1: natural um show that you know, and then you want
- 9:07Speaker 1: to avoid something that that um that would make that
- 9:10Speaker 1: would make them are a little heavier. You know. Uh
- 9:13Speaker 1: in this kind of thing, you know, you want to
- 9:15Speaker 1: shoot a fabric or the style. You know that that
- 9:19Speaker 1: that would feed the men, especially you know for a
- 9:22Speaker 1: man with a heavy or stocky uh that is stocky buills.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You know. The basic goal is to a situate you know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: the vertical lines of the body. You know. Now you
- 9:33Speaker 1: want to avoid a gament that is too thin or
- 9:36Speaker 1: that that is bulging. You know that that would make
- 9:38Speaker 1: the men look bigger. You know what I'm saying. You know,
- 9:41Speaker 1: and if it's a short man, you know you don't
- 9:43Speaker 1: wanna give him a short two short jacket because you
- 9:48Speaker 1: know when the short is when the jacket that you're
- 9:52Speaker 1: gonna be right back with more mighty make a conversation.
- 9:55Speaker 1: How be you're rocking brother, fashion extraordinary? Style is or brand?
- 10:01Speaker 1: I always say a fashion brand manager or he's based
- 10:03Speaker 1: in Dallas, Texas. Been knowing him a long time. Was
- 10:06Speaker 1: in Dallas doing the Black Women's Expo on stage speaking
- 10:10Speaker 1: and Okim Habib came up and said, Rashaw. Well, he
- 10:13Speaker 1: didn't say that because he don't want to be respectful.
- 10:15Speaker 1: He just walked into my eyesight and I called him.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I went, I be my man and so and and
- 10:22Speaker 1: I invited him to come on the show just talk
- 10:24Speaker 1: about fashion, because I'm just trying to destroy some myths.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Some myths how be about people? You know, people put
- 10:30Speaker 1: a price tag on certain things and then they say
- 10:32Speaker 1: they can't afford it, or it's something that's for rich folks.
- 10:35Speaker 1: And I'm not saying that that what we're talking about
- 10:38Speaker 1: is inexpensive. I'm saying that if you invest in yourself,
- 10:42Speaker 1: and one of the things you should invest in yourself
- 10:43Speaker 1: is your clothes. You should invest in clothes. You can
- 10:46Speaker 1: invested at least one good suit. If you're gonna invest
- 10:49Speaker 1: in the one good suit, making a tailor made suit
- 10:51Speaker 1: because it would last you forever. So if you got
- 10:53Speaker 1: a black suits that you're always gonna need. You can
- 10:56Speaker 1: always need a black suit, a blue or dark blue suit,
- 10:59Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And uh brown suit those
- 11:02Speaker 1: na's real popular is great because I love gray. So
- 11:04Speaker 1: if you had a black suit and a navy blue
- 11:07Speaker 1: type suit, thenk you win in because you can go
- 11:09Speaker 1: for any interview if you walk in. You know, if
- 11:13Speaker 1: it's a sadness in your family, you got the black suit.
- 11:15Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. You cover you want to
- 11:17Speaker 1: go for a job interview, you got the blue suit.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You know you want to go to another job interview,
- 11:21Speaker 1: you got the black suit. So you always got the
- 11:24Speaker 1: festive occasion, the professional look or go out to a
- 11:27Speaker 1: dinner situation. You got through these suits. So I'm telling
- 11:29Speaker 1: you is that if you're gonna invest in these lifestyle
- 11:31Speaker 1: changes that are good for you, then you do it.
- 11:34Speaker 1: If you're not gonna invest in it, and guess what,
- 11:36Speaker 1: you're short changing yourself because these opportunities come across uh
- 11:41Speaker 1: very rare in your life and you should experience it
- 11:43Speaker 1: at the highest level. Am I making any mistakes in
- 11:46Speaker 1: what I'm saying? How beat? No, no, no side? But
- 11:49Speaker 1: what I would like to add this something this this
- 11:51Speaker 1: you know, if you want to invest in in suits,
- 11:54Speaker 1: like you said, you know, suits are now affordable with
- 11:57Speaker 1: like I'll start in my own custom suit from six
- 11:59Speaker 1: to nine, day nine and you don't have to pay
- 12:02Speaker 1: off from you pay half and then you pay the
- 12:05Speaker 1: rest when it comes in about four or five weeks later.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And another thing I want to add this. You know
- 12:12Speaker 1: when a brother, when a guy is going to start
- 12:15Speaker 1: to start building their wardrobe, you know you want to
- 12:19Speaker 1: go with a great suit, you know, a navy suit
- 12:22Speaker 1: and a trip or three piece suit. You know, because
- 12:25Speaker 1: this kind of suit it will last you long. This
- 12:28Speaker 1: is where you can extend it because in a great
- 12:31Speaker 1: suit you can take the jacket you know sometimes you
- 12:34Speaker 1: know and we're like a khaki with it or a
- 12:36Speaker 1: pair of jeans. You know, where you can be able
- 12:39Speaker 1: to to suit around. You know what I'm saying, You're
- 12:41Speaker 1: going to a total business meeting one more one day
- 12:45Speaker 1: you go to the meeting in the great suit and
- 12:47Speaker 1: the next day, you know, maybe you want to go
- 12:49Speaker 1: to dinner, you know, with your coworkers or whatever, I
- 12:52Speaker 1: want to go to happier you can done the same
- 12:55Speaker 1: jacket with a khaki or with the jeans. You know
- 12:58Speaker 1: that was still give you as port jacket look and
- 13:02Speaker 1: you still be dressy and casual at the same time.
- 13:05Speaker 1: And a navy suit is always good to have in
- 13:08Speaker 1: your worldrobe as well because it's will it would give
- 13:11Speaker 1: you all the all despectives of what you need. You know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: in the suit, black suit is always good. Like you said,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you know, you are right on point on black suit.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Black suit. You cannot lose on that because when you
- 13:24Speaker 1: have a black suit, you can wait to a wedding.
- 13:26Speaker 1: You can turn a black suit into after five by
- 13:30Speaker 1: donning a boat tie or something like that. You can
- 13:34Speaker 1: wear a caju a shirt round round shirt or bottom
- 13:40Speaker 1: down shirt. You know. So a black suit is always good.
- 13:43Speaker 1: You know as well. You can wait to a wedding
- 13:46Speaker 1: or to a funnel, you know, or to church, you know,
- 13:48Speaker 1: whatever you want to go, you know, and always you know,
- 13:51Speaker 1: black it's always good for for meeting. You know. Let
- 13:54Speaker 1: me ask you this because you know, like as I
- 13:56Speaker 1: started UM in eight six, I work for IBM and
- 14:00Speaker 1: i BM. You know, the basically they didn't tell you,
- 14:03Speaker 1: but the requirement was to wear a suit. And now
- 14:06Speaker 1: I've just seen over the years, you know, they just
- 14:08Speaker 1: do casual fridays. And now you have all these uh
- 14:12Speaker 1: tech companies coming out and the casual look becomes a
- 14:14Speaker 1: dominant look. So so explain to us, is that is
- 14:18Speaker 1: there's still value in having a suit and wearing a
- 14:21Speaker 1: suit with the day's lifestyle changes and casual being such
- 14:26Speaker 1: a big point of view for how people want to
- 14:29Speaker 1: look today. Yes, UM, so you know in the history
- 14:33Speaker 1: of and hits your faction, you know, UM for for
- 14:37Speaker 1: man especially, you know, suits is what um you know,
- 14:40Speaker 1: the dignify a man. You know, you go through the
- 14:43Speaker 1: app part. You know, in the suit, you travel in
- 14:45Speaker 1: the suit, you go through a business making in the suit.
- 14:48Speaker 1: But uh, but this this, you know, this lifestyle is
- 14:52Speaker 1: changing a little bit. You know as time goes on.
- 14:55Speaker 1: You know, new ideas are coming in. You know where
- 14:58Speaker 1: um even when jens are now being accepted on Friday,
- 15:02Speaker 1: you know, to go to work, you know, uh, you know,
- 15:05Speaker 1: you know, no new ideas and experiences demand not only
- 15:10Speaker 1: a new world, but but you know now it's demanding
- 15:13Speaker 1: and new styles. You know, the current social and UH
- 15:18Speaker 1: and cultural trends have always been you know mirrored mirrored
- 15:22Speaker 1: in um now into casual and lay back. You know,
- 15:27Speaker 1: lay back for men, you know, but I wish we
- 15:30Speaker 1: can go back to the instant tourist, you know, and
- 15:33Speaker 1: and there you know where where men who is always
- 15:36Speaker 1: you know that pad everywhere that that that you go
- 15:39Speaker 1: you know, but this this, you know, it's it's more casual,
- 15:43Speaker 1: laid back. And like I said, you know, now you
- 15:46Speaker 1: go to to places and you see you know, or
- 15:49Speaker 1: even CEOs aware engines now, you know, because things are
- 15:53Speaker 1: more demanding into more casual laid back and of course
- 15:58Speaker 1: you know with the with Them clothing brand going up,
- 16:03Speaker 1: Genes and CAUs you know. Uh, you see now you
- 16:07Speaker 1: can buy a pair of gears for two people think
- 16:11Speaker 1: that because it's two three, the last day of Genes.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I can wait to you know, to a wedding. You
- 16:16Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. But it's not supposed to be
- 16:18Speaker 1: like that, you know what I mean? Because I want
- 16:21Speaker 1: to I want to shift gears here because you sent
- 16:24Speaker 1: me a list of questions and I wanted the question.
- 16:26Speaker 1: You said, you're looking for interns with marketing and social
- 16:29Speaker 1: media experience. Explain that to us and why is that important? Yes? Yes, uh,
- 16:34Speaker 1: it's very important to me now because I have our
- 16:37Speaker 1: e commerce website you know, on our website and also
- 16:41Speaker 1: on the e commerce um like a Shopify and Amazon
- 16:46Speaker 1: and e base and marketplaces. Now I'm looking for interns,
- 16:51Speaker 1: you know, somebody that have experienced in social media, you know, uh,
- 16:56Speaker 1: in social marketing that can help me, you know in
- 16:59Speaker 1: the business you know, of course, you know, I specialize
- 17:02Speaker 1: and custom clothing and in fashion, and I have learned
