- 0:09Speaker 3: At all at all, So don't given a black Alican
- 0:16Speaker 3: b busy.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Listening to.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Show. I don't Joy, Well, yeah, Joy, you know you.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Love you.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Loone. You gotta turn to turn the mouth turn you
- 1:43Speaker 3: probably got to turn the mouth turn out, turn the
- 1:47Speaker 3: water of the money jump.
- 1:55Speaker 5: Come come on, you'll think, uh huh, I sure will
- 2:03Speaker 5: come on to everybody. You'll listen to the voice. Come on,
- 2:08Speaker 5: take me now. One and only, Steve Harvey got a
- 2:12Speaker 5: radio self. Steve Harvey got a radio show.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Sometimes when a chuckle like that reminds me and my
- 2:20Speaker 2: oldest brother that passed away.
- 2:21Speaker 5: He used to laugh like that. It's kind of funny
- 2:23Speaker 5: how jeans get passed down through the line. I don't
- 2:26Speaker 5: know why I told you all that, just so want
- 2:28Speaker 5: to share with you that's all. As always, always kind
- 2:32Speaker 5: of asked God to help me, you know, And and
- 2:35Speaker 5: and I had I had gotten off track a little
- 2:38Speaker 5: bit because one of the principles of success I want
- 2:43Speaker 5: to share with you all today is the law of attraction.
- 2:47Speaker 5: And that is a very very serious principle. It cannot
- 2:51Speaker 5: be ignored. The law of attraction. And I'm not going
- 2:56Speaker 5: to be able to explain it to you as well
- 2:59Speaker 5: as the secrets can, or as well as some people.
- 3:02Speaker 5: I can only articulate it to you the way that
- 3:07Speaker 5: I see it. And the law of attraction is very,
- 3:10Speaker 5: very real. The law of attraction is a principle of success.
- 3:15Speaker 5: It is something that everyone has to adhere to. Now,
- 3:20Speaker 5: whether you know the law of attraction or not, it
- 3:24Speaker 5: does not make it not exist for you. This is
- 3:29Speaker 5: the case where ignorance is not the excuse. The fact
- 3:34Speaker 5: that no one told it to you. There is no
- 3:37Speaker 5: pass for this one. The fact that you never heard
- 3:40Speaker 5: it before it does not allow you to do it
- 3:44Speaker 5: any other way.
- 3:46Speaker 2: So let me see if I can put it to
- 3:49Speaker 2: you best I can.
- 3:50Speaker 5: The law of attraction, the law of attraction, to put
- 3:53Speaker 5: it real, simply, is the thing that you focus on,
- 3:58Speaker 5: the thing that you t talk about, the thing that
- 4:02Speaker 5: you think of, is the thing that you draw to you.
- 4:06Speaker 2: It's what you attract to you. That's basically the law
- 4:10Speaker 2: of attraction.
- 4:11Speaker 5: The thing that you talk about, the thing that you
- 4:14Speaker 5: think about, the thing that you focus on, whatever it
- 4:19Speaker 5: is that is.
- 4:21Speaker 2: What you attract.
- 4:23Speaker 5: The law of attraction does not differentiate from positive and negative.
- 4:31Speaker 2: It only does what it does. What I am saying
- 4:36Speaker 2: is this in the law of attraction.
- 4:40Speaker 5: No matter what you think of, no matter what occupies
- 4:44Speaker 5: your time, no matter what you say, or no matter
- 4:48Speaker 5: what the focus is, positive or negative, the law of
- 4:52Speaker 5: attraction knows neither one. It just attracts it. So let's
- 4:57Speaker 5: use some examples here. I can just the best example.
- 5:01Speaker 5: Always uses me.
- 5:03Speaker 2: That way.
- 5:03Speaker 5: I ain't got to figure out nothing. I can just
- 5:05Speaker 5: tell you my side of it. I was in a
- 5:08Speaker 5: lot of debt one time in my life. This is
- 5:12Speaker 5: before any of you knew me, so you can understand.
- 5:16Speaker 5: In case you're not thinking, I don't want you to
- 5:20Speaker 5: think that this conversation is about your income level, because
- 5:24Speaker 5: it's not. It doesn't matter what income level you are.
- 5:26Speaker 5: The law of attraction works in all aspects money, family, relationships, job, career, love.
- 5:34Speaker 5: It just works that way. Okay, here's a deal. I
- 5:37Speaker 5: kept saying, man, this debt is killing me. I got
- 5:41Speaker 5: to get out. That's what I thought was a good goal,
- 5:46Speaker 5: to get out of debt. But what I kept saying was,
- 5:50Speaker 5: you know, I kept talking about debt, and you know
- 5:53Speaker 5: what it kept doing. It kept attracting debt to me.
- 5:58Speaker 5: So guess what I could get out?
- 6:01Speaker 2: That's all? Is that crazy?
- 6:05Speaker 5: That is an amazing law to understand. What turned it
- 6:09Speaker 5: around for me was I started claiming a life of abundance. God,
- 6:17Speaker 5: I am seeking a life of abundance. I want to
- 6:21Speaker 5: have more than enough. I want to be able to
- 6:24Speaker 5: help other people. I just want to have a law
- 6:28Speaker 5: of attraction so that I be able to provide my
- 6:31Speaker 5: family the lifestyle that I want to provide them.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I want, Heavenly Father to.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Be able to be an example of your goodness and
- 6:39Speaker 5: your grace in my life. That is what I started saying.
- 6:44Speaker 5: And guess what, that's what I started attracting. I'm going
- 6:48Speaker 5: to have a great relationship with my children. I'm going
- 6:51Speaker 5: to be the father that I always wanted to be.
- 6:55Speaker 5: I'm going to be a good father. I'm going to
- 6:58Speaker 5: be a good husband.
- 7:00Speaker 6: Now.
- 7:00Speaker 5: I am going to do the right things. I am
- 7:03Speaker 5: going to be the type of example that my sons
- 7:06Speaker 5: can look no further and go. I can be like
- 7:09Speaker 5: my dad. I want to be able to be a place,
- 7:12Speaker 5: a beacon of light and hope for my daughters to
- 7:15Speaker 5: come through. That's what I started saying. That's what I
- 7:18Speaker 5: started attracting to my life. The law of attraction does
- 7:24Speaker 5: not care if you want it to be positive or negative.
- 7:28Speaker 5: The law of attraction just attracts whatever it is you
- 7:33Speaker 5: focus on, what you think about, the words that come
- 7:37Speaker 5: out your mouth. You cannot overlook this principle of success
- 7:42Speaker 5: and expect to make it because of the fact that
- 7:44Speaker 5: you've never heard of the law of attraction, because of
- 7:47Speaker 5: the fact that you don't know how it really operates.
- 7:51Speaker 2: It does not make it not exist in your day.
- 7:55Speaker 2: You can start.
- 7:56Speaker 5: Today attracting the right things to you by changing what
- 8:02Speaker 5: you say, what you think, what you focus on. Change
- 8:10Speaker 5: the focus, change the thought, change the words that come
- 8:16Speaker 5: out your mouth, and guess what you change what you
- 8:20Speaker 5: attract to yourself. You have got to ask yourself why
- 8:24Speaker 5: is it?
- 8:25Speaker 2: Man?
- 8:25Speaker 5: Man, let me tell you something. Somebody said the Bishop
- 8:28Speaker 5: Jakes one time. They said, man, everything you touch turns
- 8:32Speaker 5: to gold. He said, no, I just don't touch everything.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Man, This is crazy. Come on, man, he has a focus.
- 8:44Speaker 2: He has a focus. See, he ain't just everywhere. Bring
- 8:48Speaker 2: me any idea, Let me try that.
- 8:50Speaker 5: No, no, no, man, he has a focus. He has
- 8:53Speaker 5: a law of attraction. That's working where he's attracting things
- 8:57Speaker 5: to his life. That that's positive that he can. That's
- 9:02Speaker 5: not to say, mister Jakes don't have problems, because we
- 9:04Speaker 5: talk often and man, he have them. Oh please understand.
- 9:08Speaker 5: And he not trying to attract the problems. But what
- 9:11Speaker 5: he will attract is the proper solution for the problem.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And ain't that all you need? Sometimes?
- 9:18Speaker 5: God did not say that it would be easy. He
- 9:22Speaker 5: just said he would be with you. And if God
- 9:25Speaker 5: is with you, who.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Can be against you?
- 9:28Speaker 5: God will make your enemies your footstool. God is powerful man,
- 9:31Speaker 5: His word is true. He do what he say he
- 9:34Speaker 5: gonna do. Now, all we got to do is do
- 9:37Speaker 5: some of what we say, cause we ain't gonna do everything.
- 9:39Speaker 5: Just do some of what we say.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Okay, here's the deal. God is going to do everything
- 9:44Speaker 2: he say he gonna do.
- 9:46Speaker 5: You and I just got to do some of the
- 9:49Speaker 5: stuff we say we're gonna do it because he already
- 9:51Speaker 5: know we ain't gonna do all of them.
- 9:52Speaker 2: He clear on that. He clear on that. All right,
- 9:56Speaker 2: thank you.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening, morning, ladies and gentlemen.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Without further ado, I would like to start the show now.
- 10:07Speaker 5: A s A p all in the words of my daddy.
- 10:11Speaker 5: Rat now, I want it done it? Rat now, Daddy?
- 10:16Speaker 5: When you want? Rat now, Daddy? When you want when
- 10:21Speaker 5: I say it? He never gave me a straight answer, man.
- 10:26Speaker 1: That was my father.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Man.
- 10:27Speaker 5: I think that has a lot to do with the
- 10:29Speaker 5: how I am today. My father never gave me a
- 10:32Speaker 5: straight answer. It was always to make you think about
- 10:36Speaker 5: what you say. Oh yeah, yeah, see good morning, Shirley Carler, Mississippi,
- 10:44Speaker 5: Monica Junior, and Thommas we're gonna I'm gonna give you
- 10:48Speaker 5: an example of how my father was this morning. Anyone

- 10:55Speaker 5: to respond.
- 10:55Speaker 2: To you as how Slick Harvey did it? Carler?
- 11:01Speaker 1: Daddy? What are we having for dinner tonight?
- 11:04Speaker 2: What's your mama cooking?

- 11:14Speaker 2: But is it rice? The question is what is your mama?
- 11:17Speaker 2: What is we having for dinner? And whatever your mama cooking?
- 11:20Speaker 2: What we finish?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Had that? But Daddy, I still don't know.

- 11:46Speaker 5: Can we Well, that ain't a good time for me
- 11:50Speaker 5: because the baseball game gonna be old.
- 11:55Speaker 1: So are we gonna watch the baseball game?
- 11:57Speaker 6: Then?
- 11:57Speaker 5: What you think we're gonna watch? If I want to
- 11:59Speaker 5: watch baseball game? If you want to watch good time?
- 12:01Speaker 5: What you think we shouldn't look at? If you got it,
- 12:05Speaker 5: you watch what you want to watch.
- 12:07Speaker 6: That is it, daddy? That is it?
- 12:09Speaker 7: Next question, Hey daddy, can we go outside and you

- 12:31Speaker 2: Can we get a pool? Can you get a pool?
- 12:33Speaker 6: Or what.
- 12:37Speaker 2: A swimming pool? Like like the kids down the street

- 21:10Speaker 4: My husband doesn't work out, so I asked him why
- 21:12Speaker 4: it was the bag in there. He says that sometimes
- 21:16Speaker 4: he can't make it to the bathroom at work, so
- 21:18Speaker 4: he keeps a change of undies in his car just
- 21:21Speaker 4: in case. What.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I don't know if I should believe him or not,
- 21:25Speaker 1: But he does have a sensitive stomach?

- 22:30Speaker 5: you hugged me. He can't hold his water good. At
- 22:33Speaker 5: least it's his water.
- 22:34Speaker 6: You know.
- 22:34Speaker 5: He's a man just defecating on hisself. That's why he
- 22:36Speaker 5: don't have to get another job right here, anybody fin
- 22:39Speaker 5: to do that. But I'm feel hisself a lot to us,
- 22:41Speaker 5: just telling me where dog passed and wear them Cai

- 22:49Speaker 1: I'm going Lauren and Alabama.
- 22:52Speaker 6: Uh.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Since five years ago, my husband called me from work
- 22:55Speaker 4: and said that he wanted a divorce. He said he
- 22:57Speaker 4: had found his soulmate and he wanted to be with
- 23:00Speaker 4: I had no idea at first that a soulmate is
- 23:02Speaker 4: our church member. I know for a fact that she
- 23:05Speaker 4: may still be married to an older man at the church,
- 23:08Speaker 4: and he still pays all of her bills. I've been
- 23:11Speaker 4: doing some spy work and I'm about to give them
- 23:13Speaker 4: a big both of them, a big wake up call.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Am I being evil?
- 23:18Speaker 2: Or should I do it? Well? I really would like
- 23:21Speaker 2: to know what the big wake up call is.
- 23:24Speaker 5: I mean, if you think she's it's a friend of
- 23:26Speaker 5: yours from the church and she's still married to an
- 23:28Speaker 5: older man and he called you from work and just said, hey,
- 23:32Speaker 5: I want to be with my soulmate. You know, I
- 23:34Speaker 5: want a divorce to kind of throw you off a
- 23:36Speaker 5: little bit. But he don't want you. That's clear, clear,
- 23:41Speaker 5: So you know. I look, I could tell you to
- 23:44Speaker 5: just leave it go, but you hain't. You got some
- 23:46Speaker 5: information you're gonna drop a bombshell. I just need to
- 23:50Speaker 5: know where you're gonna do it. As you're gonna do
- 23:51Speaker 5: it at his job. You're gonna do it down at
- 23:53Speaker 5: the church and probably have a lot more. You need
- 23:55Speaker 5: to know where it's gonna be at, though, Yeah, because
- 23:57Speaker 5: that determines the biggest the size of the bombshell. On
- 24:00Speaker 5: his job, he won't create that big of ruckers because
- 24:04Speaker 5: by Hr has to stay out of his personal life.
- 24:06Speaker 5: But if you do it down at the church, they
- 24:08Speaker 5: is your personal life. You know, church got no laws
- 24:12Speaker 5: down there? Are they gonna run that up there? They
- 24:15Speaker 5: gonna run that up the flag pole. I would leave
- 24:18Speaker 5: it alone and just realize he don't want you, because
- 24:21Speaker 5: I mean when you do that, he still ain't gonna
- 24:23Speaker 5: want you.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Yeah, now you done done some research, Go ahead.
- 24:27Speaker 1: What I feel like they want to fight for their marriage.

- 24:35Speaker 5: If a man call you and tell you that that
- 24:37Speaker 5: you can't fix that, you're not fling, all of a sudden,
- 24:40Speaker 5: you fin. He fin change his mind and you the
- 24:42Speaker 5: soul mate. Girl, go on about yourself. Get your life,
- 24:47Speaker 5: all right, Lauren all right?

- 25:05Speaker 1: Let me pursue her.
- 25:07Speaker 4: I'm old school and I love the chase. I like
- 25:10Speaker 4: to pretend I still have it, and she won't let me.

- 27:47Speaker 5: Hey Dad, I'm going over to Grandma's house. You know,
- 27:50Speaker 5: they ain't got much longer to live. I was listening
- 27:52Speaker 5: to Steve Morning Show, and it was an old man
- 27:55Speaker 5: who rode in to him and told him me, he
- 27:57Speaker 5: got he got a lot less left and he had
- 28:00Speaker 5: in his past. And I know Grandmama and them don't

- 28:38Speaker 4: job just as bad as dating someone who is addicted
- 28:42Speaker 4: to addicted to a substance. Steve, So, I gotta ask you.
- 28:45Speaker 4: Can you be in a healthy relationship with someone who
- 28:48Speaker 4: is addicted to their job? Or can two people who
- 28:52Speaker 4: are each addicted to their own job have a healthy
- 28:54Speaker 4: relationship with each other?
- 28:56Speaker 6: That is.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Addicted?
- 29:00Speaker 5: There is a tough word, but that is if you
- 29:02Speaker 5: are addicted to your job. Any addiction is a problem.
- 29:06Speaker 5: It means you're doing something in excess and you can't
- 29:10Speaker 5: seem to control it.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Right, You keep going back so you could control it.
- 29:16Speaker 5: But if you think you trapped in it. So it's
- 29:21Speaker 5: a lot of ways around this thing. I don't what

- 29:34Speaker 2: Junior? I say it can't? It could work.
- 29:37Speaker 3: It could work.
- 29:39Speaker 7: Two people are addicted to their job. You know, if
- 29:41Speaker 7: you love doing what you do, you know, I mean
- 29:43Speaker 7: I love my job.
- 29:44Speaker 1: But isn't it a time issue?
- 29:45Speaker 6: Though?
- 29:46Speaker 1: I mean, if you're addicted to your job? Do you
- 29:47Speaker 1: have time to cut each other with each other?
- 29:51Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 29:52Speaker 5: Well, if both of you is addicted, has to be
- 29:56Speaker 5: a mutual time you know that you agree upon and
- 30:00Speaker 5: it probably ain't gonna be long.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't see. I don't see this working because
- 30:06Speaker 4: your job comes first. You won't you don't put the

- 30:38Speaker 5: Well, I'm using the word addiction in the harshest way because,
- 30:43Speaker 5: like I said, addiction is a tough word.
- 30:45Speaker 4: It is.
- 30:46Speaker 5: So the question is, how would you would you like
- 30:48Speaker 5: to be in a relationship with a man that was
- 30:50Speaker 5: addicted to you?
- 30:52Speaker 2: Now this might sound good, be all over me, but
- 30:54Speaker 2: I mean.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Everywhere, but Steve, he has to have time.

- 31:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that's it. There is a thing called too much.
- 31:54Speaker 6: I see.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Yeah, what you're saying, I'm going to the stove. Well,
- 31:57Speaker 1: let me get him on other side. Yeah, hold up,
- 32:01Speaker 1: you need some time to yourself. Everyone needs that.
- 32:03Speaker 2: You want me to get I'm not worried about that.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I lost my baby.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I don't need help. But you you go to work.
- 32:16Speaker 11: Well see that's the thing though, so the workaholic, because
- 32:20Speaker 11: I know that I have a girlfriend that she says
- 32:22Speaker 11: she complains because her man works all the time.
- 32:25Speaker 1: And I'm like, it's gotta be a healthy balance.
- 32:28Speaker 2: If you can't make it to the salon. I shall
- 32:30Speaker 2: know my family.
- 32:31Speaker 5: They did what they thought was an intervention on me
- 32:35Speaker 5: to talk to me about the hours I work.
- 32:37Speaker 2: And I need to slow down.
- 32:39Speaker 1: And I agree with them, and so do we.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I asked them all the time, though, Uh, what
- 32:46Speaker 2: what's y'all's payment? Playing for all this here?
- 32:52Speaker 6: For all of you?
- 32:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, you know, y'all over here, just steady

- 33:08Speaker 5: in there and it's fourteen bottles of half yeah, and

- 33:21Speaker 5: open bottle on your ground. Put your name on your
- 33:25Speaker 5: damn bottle with that magic mark I put in there.
- 33:28Speaker 4: But there comes a point when are you working because
- 33:33Speaker 4: you have to work?
- 33:34Speaker 1: Or are you working because you just love what you
- 33:36Speaker 1: do too?
- 33:39Speaker 2: It's a combination.
- 33:40Speaker 5: Somebody, my son, said something that was really moving to
- 33:44Speaker 5: me in Abu Dhabi and it kind of really made
- 33:50Speaker 5: me feel really good because it let me know he
- 33:52Speaker 5: was thinking about his dad.
- 33:56Speaker 2: So I was talking to this wealthy guy. He was
- 33:59Speaker 2: from Kirshnill like that. I don't know where that is.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Go ahead me either, A really nice guy. I don't

- 34:11Speaker 5: I said, man, I want to be a billionaire. He
- 34:14Speaker 5: said for what what do you need it for? He said,
- 34:19Speaker 5: name something that you can do with a billion dollars
- 34:24Speaker 5: that you can't do right now. You live in nice homes,
- 34:28Speaker 5: you fly private, you own cars, you want, you dress
- 34:32Speaker 5: how you want. What can you do anymore with the
- 34:35Speaker 5: billion that you can't do now? My son went and
- 34:37Speaker 5: looked at him and said nothing. My dad just wants
- 34:42Speaker 5: to do nothing.
- 34:44Speaker 1: He said, my dad just wants to be My dad.

- 36:59Speaker 4: whose ex lives next door.
- 37:02Speaker 8: I'm going with the chest. I'm gonna see you from
- 37:04Speaker 8: behind more than I am on from the front. Anyway.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Wow, Wow, Wow, are you sleepy because you just wow?
- 37:14Speaker 3: You asked me.

- 38:03Speaker 6: We can do it.
- 38:03Speaker 2: At least.
- 38:05Speaker 1: What you say, Junior, I'd rather do that.

- 38:27Speaker 1: Your ex. You scared? Really you're listening morning show.
- 38:38Speaker 4: Here's a question for you guys. What's something you wish
- 38:41Speaker 4: you knew before you had kids? So here's something we
- 38:44Speaker 4: saw on Facebook. Okay, I have three kids, and there's
- 38:48Speaker 4: a lot I thought I knew, but I had no
- 38:50Speaker 4: idea about having kids. If I could tell my younger
- 38:54Speaker 4: self one thing about having kids, I'd say that you're
- 38:56Speaker 4: going to have to learn how to do some serious,
- 38:59Speaker 4: serious scheduling. It's all about working on their schedule, not yours. Okay,
- 39:06Speaker 4: As a.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Parent, what advice do you give your friends who are
- 39:09Speaker 1: about to have kids?
- 39:13Speaker 2: Start?
- 39:14Speaker 5: Yeah, you can, I recommend falster care. Why right out
- 39:24Speaker 5: the gate, dog, don't even send yourself through this right here.
- 39:27Speaker 5: If I'd have known what I knew, I'd have looked
- 39:29Speaker 5: into foster care. I just wasn't not aware of the program.
- 39:32Speaker 5: But I'd have put mine in it. How to put
- 39:34Speaker 5: mine into foster care and just let them build character
- 39:39Speaker 5: from there. You know, because I know a lot of
- 39:41Speaker 5: people that came through the foster care system. They have
- 39:43Speaker 5: a lot of driving gut and grit, know how to
- 39:46Speaker 5: overcome things.
- 39:47Speaker 3: My children.
- 39:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I gave him a little soft ass life. I
- 39:50Speaker 5: should have put him into the program, got him in
- 39:53Speaker 5: the system. That's my recommendation to anybody having damn kid.
- 39:58Speaker 1: You don't have kids, but you have your nephews.
- 40:01Speaker 7: Yeah, oh man, you uh differently disown them. Yeah, I
- 40:10Speaker 7: sure will.
- 40:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 40:11Speaker 7: Yeah, because I'm gonna tell you something. It don't make
- 40:14Speaker 7: no sense for this kid to be this much medication
- 40:16Speaker 7: and not know nothing. Them pills are real and tell
- 40:19Speaker 7: you that.
- 40:21Speaker 1: You have to take that pill.
- 40:22Speaker 7: That don't take that pill? Did ady h d pill?
- 40:25Speaker 7: If he don't take that pill, you in for a
- 40:26Speaker 7: world of hurt. I'm telling that much right now. You're
- 40:28Speaker 7: in a world of hurt if you don't take that pill.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Get your ass off the couch.
- 40:32Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, ma'am. I mean, he just knew you.
- 40:34Speaker 2: He didn't know you know.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I got a call one time, the teacher called me
- 40:38Speaker 1: no line.
- 40:39Speaker 7: Said, could you come up here because your nephew is
- 40:41Speaker 7: standing on his head in the corner while they're taking
- 40:43Speaker 7: the test.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Will get your ass in the chair take the test
- 40:45Speaker 1: with the.

- 40:59Speaker 8: your mama and daddy the first eight to ten years.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Just just sit back and just watch, just letting mommy
- 41:06Speaker 2: and daddy handle yo. Yeah, somebody don't know about kids exactly.
- 41:14Speaker 8: Just give him away and sit back and watching.
- 41:19Speaker 2: That's it.
- 41:20Speaker 8: Just give him, give him to him and watch and
- 41:22Speaker 8: see how mom and daddy do it. Because you wasn't
- 41:24Speaker 8: watching when mom and daddy was raising you. But just
- 41:26Speaker 8: sit back and watch this time.
- 41:28Speaker 1: See how the nerve yourself something. Yeah, you guys all
- 41:31Speaker 1: said the same thing, basically, give him away.
- 41:35Speaker 2: It's too much work.
- 41:37Speaker 7: It's I said stuff no adult should be saying, like,
- 41:42Speaker 7: whon't you get the dog leg got your mouth? He
- 41:46Speaker 7: bit the damn dog, get your ass. I'm sorry, y'all.
- 41:51Speaker 7: He don't nor act like this hate.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Take the pill.

- 42:11Speaker 6: What? When?
- 42:14Speaker 4: What?
- 42:15Speaker 6: Yo?
- 42:16Speaker 1: Why where is he?
- 42:19Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 42:19Speaker 5: That's it And for all of us that's right, and
- 42:23Speaker 5: for all of us that have kids other than Shirley
- 42:26Speaker 5: and call it Shirley and Carlin would tell you, you know,
- 42:30Speaker 5: raise their kids love him and all this hell and

- 42:35Speaker 4: Our philosophy doesn't work with.
- 42:41Speaker 5: It's years of pain. First of all, your life will
- 42:46Speaker 5: never be the same. It's not yours anymore. If you

- 42:55Speaker 5: feed them, dress them, carry them, hold them everything here.

- 51:32Speaker 6: What I do?
- 51:33Speaker 5: Now?
- 51:33Speaker 6: What I do?
- 51:34Speaker 1: I can't pray?
- 51:35Speaker 3: How y'all don't see this? That's all that.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Hi.
- 51:39Speaker 12: How y'all don't see how y'all don't know all these greatness? Yeah,

- 52:14Speaker 4: on parenting, and more, please submit your Strawberry Letter to
- 52:18Speaker 4: Steve Harvey FM and click submit Strawberry Letter, and we
- 52:21Speaker 4: could be reading your letter live on the air and
- 52:24Speaker 4: helping you out, just like.
- 52:26Speaker 1: We're going to do for this person right here.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Buggle up, hold on tight. We got it for you.
- 52:37Speaker 3: At all.
- 52:38Speaker 4: All right, subject one big happy family or nothing at
- 52:42Speaker 4: all Dear Stephen Shirley. I've been dating a man for
- 52:46Speaker 4: three years and we get along great. We've talked about
- 52:49Speaker 4: getting married, but we have to work out a few
- 52:51Speaker 4: kinks first. Both of us have teenage kids from previous relationships,
- 52:56Speaker 4: and I spend a lot of time with his kids
- 52:58Speaker 4: every other weekend. He is always around my kids because
- 53:02Speaker 4: I have sole custody of them. We always joke about
- 53:05Speaker 4: his kids like hanging out. Excuse me, We always joke
- 53:09Speaker 4: about how his kids like hanging out with me more
- 53:11Speaker 4: than him.
- 53:13Speaker 1: If I am doing something for my kids, I include
- 53:16Speaker 1: his kids.
- 53:16Speaker 4: I buy them gifts for birthdays, Christmas, or just because
- 53:20Speaker 4: I buy them gifts, and there's no separation to me.
- 53:24Speaker 3: But over the.
- 53:25Speaker 4: Weekend I have the strangest conversation with my boyfriend about
- 53:29Speaker 4: the kids. He told me that this Christmas he plans
- 53:34Speaker 4: to focus more on his kids and spend quality time
- 53:38Speaker 4: with them alone during the holidays.
- 53:41Speaker 1: I was shocked to hear this.
- 53:44Speaker 4: Over the years, he's been good to my kids, but
- 53:47Speaker 4: I do see a difference in how he treats them
- 53:49Speaker 4: and how he treats his own kids.
- 53:51Speaker 1: My kids love him, so I never make a big
- 53:54Speaker 1: deal out of it.
- 53:55Speaker 4: The fact that he is trying to make a big
- 53:57Speaker 4: distinction between the kids really hurts my feeling. Blended families
- 54:01Speaker 4: are tricky and we've been trying to make it work,
- 54:04Speaker 4: but this was a harsh reality check. My kids come first,
- 54:08Speaker 4: but I'm able to love his kids as my own.
- 54:10Speaker 4: Now I have doubts about marriage. Am I overthinking this?
- 54:14Speaker 4: Stephen Shirley?
- 54:15Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 54:17Speaker 1: No, you are not overthinking anything.
- 54:20Speaker 4: I say what you see and what you know, because
- 54:24Speaker 4: when people show you and in this case, tell you
- 54:27Speaker 4: who they are, please believe them. I mean, okay, let's
- 54:31Speaker 4: look at the facts. This man that you've been with
- 54:34Speaker 4: for three years told you that this Christmas he just
- 54:39Speaker 4: wants to spend quality time with his kids alone during
- 54:43Speaker 4: the holidays. What else do you need to hear? It's
- 54:47Speaker 4: the holidays. That's the time when you and your man
- 54:49Speaker 4: and kids. You know, you guys are supposed to spend
- 54:52Speaker 4: family time together, not a part So again, what else
- 54:58Speaker 4: is it that you need to hear? I mean, he
- 55:00Speaker 4: doesn't want to be with you, and he doesn't want
- 55:02Speaker 4: to be with you and your kids for Christmas. Okay,
- 55:05Speaker 4: in this relationship, you are all in. You are just
- 55:08Speaker 4: everything in this relationship you have accepted as teenage kids.
- 55:12Speaker 4: You spend a lot of time with them, You remember
- 55:14Speaker 4: their birthdays and other special occasions. You buy them gifts
- 55:17Speaker 4: and stuff. He, on the other hand, makes a difference
- 55:20Speaker 4: between his kids and your kids, and you're right. In
- 55:23Speaker 4: order for a blended family to work, you have to
- 55:26Speaker 4: show love to everyone, even if in your heart you
- 55:28Speaker 4: love your own kids more.
- 55:30Speaker 1: And I think that's pretty normal to feel that way.
- 55:32Speaker 1: You have a special bond with your kids, you carried
- 55:34Speaker 1: them and all of that.
- 55:35Speaker 4: But you know you're fair and loving on the outside.
- 55:39Speaker 4: But your man is not doing that, and he's not
- 55:41Speaker 4: trying to hide it. Even though you say your kids
- 55:43Speaker 4: love him and you haven't made a big deal out
- 55:45Speaker 4: of it, it is a big deal because he sounds
- 55:48Speaker 4: like he has checked out of this relationship and on
- 55:50Speaker 4: his way out of this relationship. Someone who's thinking of marriage,
- 55:54Speaker 4: of marrying you, would not want to be without you
- 55:58Speaker 4: on this Christmas Okay, sounds like he's gonna be with
- 56:02Speaker 4: someone else.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Steve, Well, Shirley, I have to agree with you now.
- 56:09Speaker 6: So here we go.
- 56:10Speaker 5: This lady been dating this man for three years, everything
- 56:13Speaker 5: going great, talking about getting married, but they need to
- 56:16Speaker 5: work out some kinks. You know, both of them got kids.
- 56:20Speaker 5: He spends a lot of time in He's always around
- 56:22Speaker 5: the kids because she got soul custody of them. And
- 56:26Speaker 5: we joke about how his kids like hanging out with
- 56:28Speaker 5: me more than him, you know. And then you know,
- 56:31Speaker 5: if I'm doing something for my kids, I include his kids.
- 56:34Speaker 5: I buy them gifts for birthdays, Christmas, everything no separation
- 56:37Speaker 5: to me. But over the weekend had a little conversation
- 56:40Speaker 5: with my boyfriend about the kids. He told me he
- 56:42Speaker 5: say this Christmas, he playing it on focusing more on
- 56:45Speaker 5: his kids, spend quality time with them alone.
- 56:50Speaker 2: During the holidays. I was shocked to hear this.
- 56:54Speaker 5: Over the years, he's been good to my kids, but
- 56:56Speaker 5: I do see a difference in how he treats him
- 56:59Speaker 5: and how he treats his own kids. My kids love him,
- 57:02Speaker 5: so I never made a big deal out of the
- 57:04Speaker 5: fact that he's trying to make a big distinction between
- 57:06Speaker 5: the kids.
- 57:07Speaker 2: Really hurt my feelings.
- 57:08Speaker 5: Being the family's are tricky, Yes they are, and I've
- 57:11Speaker 5: been trying to make it work, but this was a
- 57:13Speaker 5: harsh reality check. My kids come first, but I'm able
- 57:18Speaker 5: to love his kids. That's my own. Now I have
- 57:21Speaker 5: doubts about marriage. Am overthinking this. I think you all
- 57:25Speaker 5: got to sit down and have a conversation. Something is happening,
- 57:28Speaker 5: what he's feeling like. He's obviously not paying close enough
- 57:31Speaker 5: attention to his own kids. So he decided this year
- 57:34Speaker 5: he going to spend times with his kids alone. Somebody
- 57:40Speaker 5: that said something to him. He didn't come to this
- 57:42Speaker 5: conclusion on his own. Somebody said something to him what
- 57:47Speaker 5: he meant. Somebody said, you know what the kids feel like,
- 57:50Speaker 5: you just treat everybody better than them. They come in
- 57:53Speaker 5: there and they feel like your step chid. Somebody fed
- 57:57Speaker 5: this information to him. I'm all one of the kids
- 58:01Speaker 5: said something to him. That's the only reason for he
- 58:03Speaker 5: just suddenly go like this. So he's trying to prove
- 58:06Speaker 5: that that's not true. So he gonna be spending a
- 58:10Speaker 5: lot of time with just his kids.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Alone on Christmas and he's been with her.
- 58:14Speaker 3: For three years.
- 58:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know how he thinks that's gonna be. Yeah,
- 58:19Speaker 5: he been not later, he'd better not say that nobody.
- 58:22Speaker 5: Then lay down.
- 58:22Speaker 1: He's finna miss them kids, and then lay down.
- 58:26Speaker 2: He can't go to sleep in that house. He can't
- 58:29Speaker 2: make that statement and then't go get into bed and
- 58:31Speaker 2: start snooping. Now that's been being a temp on your.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Life up But that was kind of cold though.
- 58:39Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, he plans to focus more on his
- 58:42Speaker 4: kids and spend quality time with them alone during the holiday.
- 58:46Speaker 2: No, that ain't had his work. Oh and you said
- 58:49Speaker 2: this out laughed.
- 58:50Speaker 1: All right, Steve, Well hang on.
- 58:52Speaker 4: Part two of your answer is coming up at twenty
- 58:54Speaker 4: three after the hours. Subject one big happy family or
- 58:58Speaker 4: nothing at all?
- 58:59Speaker 1: Right out after this you're listening morning show. All right, Steve,
- 59:06Speaker 1: this letter is crazy.
- 59:07Speaker 4: Let's recap subject one big happy family or nothing at all.
- 59:11Speaker 5: Well, it looked like nothing at all because he wanted
- 59:13Speaker 5: to spend this holiday with his kids, spend more time
- 59:17Speaker 5: with his kids alone. That's time of making your kids
- 59:21Speaker 5: have happy Christmases. And my kids over here they live
- 59:24Speaker 5: stuck out. Now, we're not gonna do that this year.
- 59:29Speaker 2: Michelle.
- 59:30Speaker 5: I want you to be the wife asking me why
- 59:32Speaker 5: we can't have this Christmas together, and you're gonna be
- 59:35Speaker 5: repeatedly keep asking me about this Christmas, and I'm gonna
- 59:38Speaker 5: keep giving you different reasons.
- 59:39Speaker 4: Okay, Well, honey, I'm so happy the holidays are here.
- 59:44Speaker 4: I can't wait to spend Christmas with you.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Well, you know, I wish I could say the same.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Well, what do you mean we are spending it together,
- 59:54Speaker 1: aren't we?
- 59:54Speaker 2: Well, you know, we're gonna spend it together, but it's
- 59:56Speaker 2: gonna be separate.
- 59:58Speaker 4: But separate is not together, Honey, We're going to spend
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: Christmas together, right, you, me and the kids.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Hey, look, you need to keep saying the word together.

- 1:00:09Speaker 1: We're gonna spend it together.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: We're gonna be together, but it's gonna be separate.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I want to spend it together, you know, you, me,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: the kids, us, Well, hold on, hold.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: On, hold on, hold on, hold on what what key
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: is you talking about?

- 1:00:47Speaker 2: time I'm.

- 1:03:19Speaker 6: Now?
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: See, you know you're just trying to make this some mills.

- 1:03:54Speaker 1: but it's my house.

- 1:04:03Speaker 2: Oh, well, I'm gonna have to get a restraint and on.

- 1:04:33Speaker 1: No, I don't think so, honey. It's not gonna go
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: down like that.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: But we've been.
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: Together for three years. We've always spent Christmas together. We're

- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Here's Steve with his closing remarks.
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: My closing remarks today us rather personal to me, as
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: I'm sure it is with a lot of you when
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: you hear this subject. But I want to try to
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: encourage people to make this readily available to themselves. I
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: can't even begin to tell you how effective this weapon
- 1:20:49Speaker 5: has been for me throughout my life, how many times
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: I have used this to help me, to comfort me,
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: to soothe me, to guide me, to just make me
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: feel like somebody's listening. I'm talking about the effectiveness of prayer.
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: I want to remind everybody on a personal level of
- 1:21:13Speaker 5: what prayer has meant to me. Now, I'm sure that
- 1:21:17Speaker 5: millions of people listening to me know exactly what I'm
- 1:21:20Speaker 5: talking about, but sometimes you got to say it out
- 1:21:23Speaker 5: loud as a reminder to yourself and just an offer
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: to other people who might be struggling out there. Because
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: everybody struggles with something. But every time I've truly struggled
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: with something, prayer has been my most effective tool. It
- 1:21:41Speaker 5: really is, man. The thing about prayer, The cool thing
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: about prayer is you don't have to ask for nobody's permission,
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: you don't need an appointment, you don't have to clear
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: it with anybody. And I'm sure that you know people
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: will share with you certain methods they use. But really,
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: any way you do it be just fine. You don't
- 1:22:08Speaker 5: have to be on your knees, you know, if you
- 1:22:11Speaker 5: want to, that's absolutely fine. But you could be on
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: the public transportation, you could be driving, you could be
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: sitting in your car, you could be in your cubicle,
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: you could be at your desk, you could be at
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: your workstation, you could be walking on the way to lunch.
- 1:22:25Speaker 5: You can do it anywhere, So please don't wait until
- 1:22:28Speaker 5: you have an available space or time. Because the thing
- 1:22:32Speaker 5: about prayer and God man, he's always available. The cool
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: thing about prayer also, it doesn't require perfection. And what
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: I mean by that is you don't have to have
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: yourself together to do it. This is a big one
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: that people need to understand. Prayer does not require perfection.
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: As a matter of fact, Prayer doesn't require that you
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: come to pray, do you get it right? Matter of fact,
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: you don't have to get it right. You don't have
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: to be perfect. Prayer is for broken people. Prayer is
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: for people that are confused. Prayer for people who are
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: unsure about the next move. Prayer is for people who
- 1:23:18Speaker 5: are grieving. Prayer is for people who are hurting. Prayer
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: is for people who feel alone. It's for people who
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: got nowhere to go, who have no place to turn. Now,
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: it would be good if you used it all the time,
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: but let's be honest, a lot of times we wait
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: till something is wrong. It's best to do it all
- 1:23:47Speaker 5: the time. But if you are finding yourself in one
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: of these positions of being broken, confused, unsure, hurting, grieving alone,
- 1:23:58Speaker 5: then it's available. Because the thing about God is he's merciful.
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: He understands already that you're not perfect. He understands already
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: that you only come to him a lot of times
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: when you really need him. But the incredible thing about
- 1:24:12Speaker 5: him is he's always there. That's incredible. God is behind
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: the prison walls, He's inside of hospitals. God is down
- 1:24:22Speaker 5: at the funeral home. God shows up man when he
- 1:24:27Speaker 5: needed most, when he's needed most. And it doesn't matter,
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: because let me tell you what prayer has done for me.
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: It has given me comfort. It has given me a
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: surefire way to get real answers. Prayer connects us to
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: the greatest source of power available to man.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: I'm just talking to you real, y'all.
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: I'm just giving it to you the way I see it,
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: that our people who can explain prayer far better me.
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: I'm pretty show there's some people in that pool pitch
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: can give you a cold, cold definition of prayer. Well
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: what if you ain't, what if you ain't down that Sunday.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: I'm just telling you from a hood cat that prayer
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: has worked for me, that it's got through got me
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: through some of my darkest moments when it seemed like
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: everywhere I turned they was against me.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: Prayer got me through it.
