- 0:01Speaker 1: So as I come on here right now, the big
- 0:03Speaker 1: question that everybody is asking is is Joe Biden going home?
- 0:08Speaker 1: Is he going to go back to Delaware? Is he
- 0:12Speaker 1: going to just drop out of the race. I want
- 0:14Speaker 1: to be clear, I don't think he's going to drop out.
- 0:17Speaker 1: There's a lot of reporting right now saying that the
- 0:20Speaker 1: President is thinking about dropping out. The Democrats are saying
- 0:25Speaker 1: he's got to drop out. They're losing their minds on TV.
- 0:28Speaker 1: The media is united against him getting out. The Democratic
- 0:32Speaker 1: leadership is united behind getting him out. And Biden met
- 0:36Speaker 1: with Democratic governors and the polls show that he is
- 0:38Speaker 1: slipping in his support.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Now.
- 0:41Speaker 1: President Biden huddled with a group of more than twenty
- 0:44Speaker 1: Democratic governors in an attempt to stabilize a standing among
- 0:48Speaker 1: his party's leaders. All right, The President was said to
- 0:51Speaker 1: be mowing the future of his candency with key allies,
- 0:54Speaker 1: and a new poll show that Donald Trump had a
- 0:57Speaker 1: widen lead over Joe Biden after the debate disaster. Donald
- 1:04Speaker 1: Trump now leads President Biden forty nine to forty three
- 1:07Speaker 1: percent among likely voters nationally. A new poll shows I
- 1:12Speaker 1: don't care about national polls that much, because yes, it
- 1:14Speaker 1: shows your trend, but it does a meanything because this
- 1:17Speaker 1: all comes down to the electoral College.
- 1:19Speaker 2: So I look at swing states.
- 1:21Speaker 1: What I know right now is the president of the
- 1:22Speaker 1: United States of America, Joe Biden is behind Donald Trump
- 1:25Speaker 1: in every single swing state. Now in Michigan, Joe Biden
- 1:31Speaker 1: sought to reassure Democrats that her husband was up to
- 1:34Speaker 1: the job. Not all there were convinced either. As we
- 1:37Speaker 1: are going through this, as they're trying to convince everybody
- 1:41Speaker 1: before July fourth holiday that everything is going to be
- 1:44Speaker 1: just fine. Congressional Democrats have also now become cautious when
- 1:49Speaker 1: defending President Biden's ability to serve and also win reelection
- 1:53Speaker 1: because they're afraid because all of them on the House
- 1:56Speaker 1: side are up for reelection right every two years. They're
- 2:00Speaker 1: that Joe Biden may make them lose some of their seats.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And then the question is who would be the front
- 2:06Speaker 1: runner right now if it Joe Biden does step aside.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I think it's no doubt right now that the front
- 2:12Speaker 1: runner is Kamala Harris. Why because she's the only one
- 2:15Speaker 1: that could actually use the money that's been raised for
- 2:17Speaker 1: the Biden Harris campaign, and it seems very problematic for
- 2:21Speaker 1: someone to come in with no war chest and have
- 2:24Speaker 1: to start at zero. Kamala Harris would start with the
- 2:27Speaker 1: same amount of money that is in their bank account
- 2:29Speaker 1: right now. Harris is also growing the support on social
- 2:35Speaker 1: media among Democrats because I think they also understand that
- 2:39Speaker 1: the campaign is up and running. They don't have to
- 2:42Speaker 1: start something new, and they don't have to start raising
- 2:44Speaker 1: money from scratch. So you combine all of those things.
- 2:48Speaker 1: And yes, there's a lot going on. But let me
- 2:51Speaker 1: let you hear what Tim Waltz said before I play
- 2:54Speaker 1: that for you, I want to tell you about my

- 4:41Speaker 2: Now listen to this.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Tim Waltz, Governor, walking out of this meeting at the
- 4:46Speaker 1: White House about eight o'clock on July third, and this
- 4:51Speaker 1: is what he said to the American people.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Doc, thank you, SPID for office, Yes, FIP for office.
- 4:56Speaker 3: President as three and a half, three and a half
- 4:58Speaker 3: years of delivering for us, going through what we've all
- 5:01Speaker 3: been through. None of us are denying Thursday night was
- 5:04Speaker 3: a bad performance.
- 5:05Speaker 2: It was a bad Uh. It was a bad.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Hit if you will on that. But it doesn't impact
- 5:10Speaker 3: what I believe he's delivering.
- 5:19Speaker 4: No, I always say this.
- 5:21Speaker 2: In November, we've got a clear choice.
- 5:23Speaker 4: The President was very clear that he is in this
- 5:25Speaker 4: to win this, and the president is going to President
- 5:28Speaker 4: is our nominee, the president is our party leader. And
- 5:31Speaker 4: the President has told us, and he was very clear
- 5:33Speaker 4: back there that he is in this to winness. And
- 5:35Speaker 4: so for people, I would say and listen, we're governors.
- 5:38Speaker 4: We don't do handering. That's not what we do. Governor's
- 5:41Speaker 4: working get things done. Governors say, tell me the objective,
- 5:45Speaker 4: and we're going to make sure that we accomplish the objective.
- 5:47Speaker 4: And so for people who who who are who are concerned,
- 5:50Speaker 4: I just want to be very clear on something. And
- 5:52Speaker 4: come November, we've got a binary choice, and the binary
- 5:56Speaker 4: choices between someone who has continually delivered for us in
- 5:59Speaker 4: our states and the people of our states, and frankly,
- 6:01Speaker 4: someone who's vision for the future of this country is
- 6:04Speaker 4: downright dangerous. And so I would tell people it is
- 6:08Speaker 4: time to mount up, and it is time to get
- 6:10Speaker 4: serious and understands. Did the President explain that his debated
- 6:22Speaker 4: copies to you on Thursday night?
- 6:23Speaker 2: Did he understand the states?
- 6:25Speaker 4: Did he speaking?
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he did. He said, Look he didn't he listened.
- 6:27Speaker 2: He didn't listen to himself.
- 6:28Speaker 5: And I thought he gave a great example when he said, look,
- 6:31Speaker 5: I'm worrying about numbers on this.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It's about people. It's about their lives.
- 6:34Speaker 5: This is Joe from Scranton. He talks about building the
- 6:36Speaker 5: middle class. He did it, he delivered. And I think
- 6:39Speaker 5: this idea that you get in your own head, you
- 6:40Speaker 5: get a little bit cycled up on that.
- 6:42Speaker 2: What we saw it in there today was a guy who.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Was the guy that all of us believed in the
- 6:46Speaker 3: first time who could beat Donald Trump and did beat Donald.
- 6:48Speaker 6: Trump with.
- 6:52Speaker 2: That thank you, and they rushed off.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Now those Democratic governors that went before that microphone are
- 6:59Speaker 1: saying in a very united front, he is still our guy.
- 7:03Speaker 1: On TV, however, the Democrats on TV are saying something
- 7:07Speaker 1: very very different. We have a second House Democrat that
- 7:10Speaker 1: is now calling on Biden to drop out of the
- 7:12Speaker 1: twenty twenty four race publicly. Then a third came forward,
- 7:16Speaker 1: Representative Moulton, saying, I have grave concerns that Biden can
- 7:21Speaker 1: beat Trump. So it's not even about the cognitive decline.
- 7:25Speaker 1: It's about, Hey, if this guy's going to lose, he
- 7:28Speaker 1: may make some of us lose. So we're going to
- 7:30Speaker 1: bail on him selfishly because now we no longer like him.
- 7:35Speaker 1: And I want you to hear what CNN said. A
- 7:37Speaker 1: bunch of Democrats on there and they're talking about this.
- 7:41Speaker 7: Listen, thoughts are because I've heard that message for months,
- 7:45Speaker 7: right that look at the record, and if he just
- 7:47Speaker 7: articulates the record, that will show in the numbers.
- 7:50Speaker 2: But it hasn't.
- 7:52Speaker 7: It hasn't shown in the numbers, and those numbers are
- 7:54Speaker 7: getting worse, and he didn't show an ability to make
- 7:57Speaker 7: that case aggressively in the debates, So I wonder where
- 8:01Speaker 7: that leaves us in your view.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Look, I'm just going to be honest.
- 8:05Speaker 8: I mean, everybody comes on the air and says all
- 8:07Speaker 8: this great stuff, but behind the scenes it's.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Full skill panic.
- 8:11Speaker 8: People are passing around legal memos, PDFs are flying back
- 8:15Speaker 8: and forth on WhatsApp trying to figure out what are
- 8:18Speaker 8: the options. How can you replace Biden? How do you
- 8:21Speaker 8: get him to do it in a way where he
- 8:22Speaker 8: feels respected as he should be respected. Who should Kamala
- 8:25Speaker 8: Harris's vice president be. The conversation on air and the
- 8:29Speaker 8: conversation off air are completely different. And so it's the
- 8:33Speaker 8: same thing with you saw with the Trump situation where
- 8:35Speaker 8: people would come on air and defend Trump and then
- 8:37Speaker 8: you talk to people and then we got a crazy candidate.
- 8:40Speaker 8: We don't have a crazy candidate. We have a great candidate.
- 8:42Speaker 8: We have a beautiful man. We have someone who loves
- 8:44Speaker 8: this country. We have someone who has given his all,
- 8:47Speaker 8: I mean his all to the last drop for this country.
- 8:50Speaker 8: But he may not be able to get across.
- 8:51Speaker 2: The finish line.
- 8:52Speaker 8: And a mature party has to take that into account,
- 8:55Speaker 8: and that is what's happening. And so look, I understand
- 8:58Speaker 8: people want to, you know, to defend them and protect
- 9:01Speaker 8: him and give him their space and the dignity to
- 9:03Speaker 8: make his own choice. But there is a big conversation
- 9:06Speaker 8: happening right now about how this happens, not.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Weather, How this happens not weather.
- 9:11Speaker 1: You notice how now, all of a sudden this has
- 9:13Speaker 1: started to really change the dynamic. Here they're saying, I
- 9:17Speaker 1: want to get rid of him, and I want to
- 9:20Speaker 1: get rid of him right now, and he has to
- 9:23Speaker 1: understand that it's time for us to get rid of him,
- 9:25Speaker 1: and we need him to go away, and we need
- 9:28Speaker 1: him to do it in a responsible manner, and we're
- 9:30Speaker 1: going to push him. Then you have those the White
- 9:33Speaker 1: House who are saying, well, maybe he doesn't need to go,
- 9:36Speaker 1: maybe it's too hard. And then the question is does Harris.
- 9:39Speaker 1: If Harris is the one that's going to get everything right,
- 9:42Speaker 1: like all the money and she becomes a candidate, does
- 9:45Speaker 1: she have a better chance against Donald Trump? That is
- 9:48Speaker 1: a fair question that also needs to be asked now.
- 9:52Speaker 1: By the way, on a side note, the White House
- 9:54Speaker 1: is not helping Okay, the White House is not doing
- 9:57Speaker 1: a very good job of helping at all, right now,
- 10:01Speaker 1: when they're asked basic questions. Listen to White House Press
- 10:04Speaker 1: Secretary being asked about the new excuse that Joe Biden
- 10:08Speaker 1: suffered from jetlag and that's why he didn't do well
- 10:11Speaker 1: at the last debate.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 10:15Speaker 9: There's no question that international travel can be rigorous. I
- 10:18Speaker 9: think the confusion is that he's still suffering from the
- 10:21Speaker 9: effects of.
- 10:21Speaker 2: That nearly two weeks later.
- 10:23Speaker 10: So he articulated a little bit about, like, do you
- 10:27Speaker 10: guys usually have accommodations for him after he does a trip,
- 10:31Speaker 10: that he's going to have jet lag for that long
- 10:33Speaker 10: a period of time.
- 10:34Speaker 6: So can you can you when you say two weeks later,
- 10:37Speaker 6: what do you.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Mean the debate?
- 10:38Speaker 9: He arrives back in the United States twelve or thirteen
- 10:41Speaker 9: days before the debate, So his explanation for a for
- 10:43Speaker 9: debate performance is jetlag.
- 10:45Speaker 6: So what I want to say is it's the jetlag
- 10:49Speaker 6: and also the cold, right. It is the two things,
- 10:53Speaker 6: and that occurred, and you all heard it in his
- 10:57Speaker 6: voice when he did the debate, right, and it is
- 11:00Speaker 6: even something that we shared ahead of time. You heard
- 11:02Speaker 6: it in his voice, and we confirmed it, and I
- 11:05Speaker 6: think that's important to note as well, like it is
- 11:07Speaker 6: the jet lag and the cold. But I want to
- 11:10Speaker 6: be really I want to be really clear here. This
- 11:12Speaker 6: is not an excuse, right, This is not an excuse.
- 11:14Speaker 6: You all asked for an explanation, and we get we're
- 11:16Speaker 6: giving it an explanation.
- 11:18Speaker 2: It is not an excuse.
- 11:19Speaker 6: I don't want that to be the leading piece of
- 11:22Speaker 6: this ask for the only reason we're sharing this because
- 11:25Speaker 6: it was asked of me here and the President certainly
- 11:27Speaker 6: wanted to give an explanation himself, and that's what he
- 11:30Speaker 6: did yesterday. We want to We understand that it wasn't
- 11:35Speaker 6: his best night.
- 11:36Speaker 2: It wasn't a great debate.
- 11:37Speaker 6: We understand that, and we understand what supporters saw, what
- 11:42Speaker 6: the American people saw, and what you all saw, and
- 11:44Speaker 6: so we wanted to give an explanation. So I don't
- 11:47Speaker 6: want to get into this or are you giving this excuse?
- 11:50Speaker 2: Not an excuse, We're giving you.
- 11:52Speaker 6: What our explanation was. We want to continue to make
- 11:56Speaker 6: sure that we do everything that we can to deliver
- 12:00Speaker 6: the American people. That's what we're going to continue to do.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I mean, this is one of those when you just
- 12:05Speaker 1: gotta laugh. Joe Biden. They're saying, the reason why I
- 12:09Speaker 1: had a bad debate is because he suffered from jetlag,
- 12:12Speaker 1: and that would have been fourteen days before the debate,
- 12:14Speaker 1: two weeks before the debate. They're saying, well, we had jetlag,
- 12:19Speaker 1: and so therefore that's why I had a bad night
- 12:22Speaker 1: is because of the jet lag from two weeks prior vacation.
- 12:29Speaker 1: But we're not making excuses. If I was Joe Biden,
- 12:32Speaker 1: by the way, I'd be firing the White House pres
- 12:34Speaker 1: secretary right now because she's only making you look like
- 12:37Speaker 1: you're more incompetent. The fallout from the debate this past
- 12:43Speaker 1: week continues, and there are a lot of people that
- 12:47Speaker 1: have been asking me what is going to happen, and
- 12:51Speaker 1: there's a lot of different scenarios. So I'm going to
- 12:53Speaker 1: break it down for you so you understand exactly what
- 12:56Speaker 1: could happen here.
- 12:58Speaker 2: After what was.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Described by Reuters as the president's quote shaky performance at
- 13:05Speaker 1: the debate with Donald Trump on Thursday night, Democrats then
- 13:09Speaker 1: began to openly question whether he should be replaced as
- 13:13Speaker 1: a candidate for the twenty twenty four election. There is
- 13:18Speaker 1: a process for doing so, but to be very clear,
- 13:22Speaker 1: so everyone understands that process it's going to be extremely messy.
- 13:27Speaker 2: The other question is how does it work.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Reuters spoke with a senior fellow at the Brookings It's
- 13:34Speaker 1: two think tank, a Democratic National Committee member and the
- 13:37Speaker 1: author of the book Primary Politics about the presidential nominating process,
- 13:42Speaker 1: and they asked the question that everyone's asking, how would
- 13:45Speaker 1: it work? So what options do the Democrats have. Let's
- 13:50Speaker 1: start with that the Democratic Party has had no real
- 13:55Speaker 1: plan b for Biden.
- 13:58Speaker 2: As its presidential candidate.
- 14:00Speaker 1: He ran virtually unopposed for the party's presidential nomination. They
- 14:04Speaker 1: decided that they decided to basically shut everybody out, tell
- 14:07Speaker 1: everybody not to run against him in a primary. He
- 14:11Speaker 1: will not be nominated officially, however, until later this summer
- 14:16Speaker 1: at the Democratic National Convention. So the reality is, yes,
- 14:21Speaker 1: there is still time to make a change. And then
- 14:25Speaker 1: that's where the handful, yeah, not one or two, but
- 14:28Speaker 1: a handful of scenarios become possible realities. Now here's the
- 14:34Speaker 1: easiest path to replace Joe Biden. So you understand, Biden
- 14:38Speaker 1: could just decide by himself. And as you know, there's
- 14:42Speaker 1: reports that he's having a meeting with his closest advisors
- 14:46Speaker 1: and his family Sunday right had this big meeting that
- 14:51Speaker 1: they put out to decide and to talk about the
- 14:54Speaker 1: future of the campaign. There could be and we're hearing
- 14:58Speaker 1: that quote the money has dried up, people are not
- 15:01Speaker 1: willing to give. They also are gonna be looking at
- 15:04Speaker 1: polling and internal polling numbers decide is there a pathway
- 15:09Speaker 1: for the president and not just a pathway, but is
- 15:12Speaker 1: there a way that they could turn this ship around
- 15:15Speaker 1: after the dismal performance. Now, I will say this to
- 15:19Speaker 1: be clear, Joe Biden and the team made sure that
- 15:23Speaker 1: Joe Biden was out there right after these debates and
- 15:26Speaker 1: not into hiding like he usually is. I've seen more
- 15:30Speaker 1: of Joe Biden in the past week than I have
- 15:32Speaker 1: seen probably in the last six months.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Joe Biden is out.
- 15:36Speaker 1: There, and they're treating him like he is a candidate
- 15:39Speaker 1: right now running for office. Now he may actually have
- 15:42Speaker 1: to be a real candidate now, not just kind of
- 15:45Speaker 1: show up here and there. He's gonna have to go
- 15:47Speaker 1: full speed ahead and look at a lot of donors
- 15:50Speaker 1: in the eyes, and meet with a lot of people
- 15:53Speaker 1: and ask for a lot of favors. He's not gonna
- 15:55Speaker 1: be able to just do this by sitting at the
- 15:56Speaker 1: White House, taking naps and working a noon to or schedule.
- 16:00Speaker 1: So again, Biden could just straight up decide himself, I'm
- 16:05Speaker 1: gonna step.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Aside before I'm nominated at the convention.
- 16:09Speaker 1: He could be challenged by the way by others who
- 16:11Speaker 1: try to win over the delegates that he has accrued,
- 16:15Speaker 1: and that would be basically like a coup attempt by
- 16:18Speaker 1: the Democratic Party internally. Or he could withdraw after the
- 16:23Speaker 1: Democratic conventions in Chicago in August, leaving the Democratic National
- 16:27Speaker 1: Committee to elect someone.
- 16:29Speaker 2: To run against Trump in his place.
- 16:31Speaker 1: So those are the real scenarios that are at play here.
- 16:36Speaker 1: So the next question is obviously this what happens next? Well,
- 16:41Speaker 1: right now, the process largely depends on Joe Biden. So
- 16:45Speaker 1: what I would say is, it doesn't really matter what
- 16:47Speaker 1: any of the Democrats say.
- 16:49Speaker 2: It's gonna be up to Joe Biden.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Now he would have to agree to step down or
- 16:54Speaker 1: face a challenger this late in the process. He would
- 16:57Speaker 1: then try to force him to then basically get out
- 17:01Speaker 1: of the race. Biden and the team around him so
- 17:05Speaker 1: far have shown zero indications except for this meeting with
- 17:09Speaker 1: a family and that could just be to say, hey,
- 17:10Speaker 1: we met, we decided we're going to stick in this thing.
- 17:13Speaker 1: But we had a serious meeting to placate some Democrats.
- 17:15Speaker 2: That are losing their minds.
- 17:17Speaker 1: But in reality, every signal is going to Joe Biden
- 17:21Speaker 1: is not wanting to step aside, and no opponents have
- 17:25Speaker 1: said they would come and challenge him directly at the convention.
- 17:29Speaker 1: In fact, there haven't even been leaks of those types
- 17:31Speaker 1: of conversations. So that should also tell you something. Now
- 17:37Speaker 1: you got to ask yourself then this question, who would
- 17:40Speaker 1: even his top political opponents in the Democratic Party is
- 17:45Speaker 1: potential replacements be whether and I'm not rooting for these people,
- 17:50Speaker 1: I'm just telling you the reality. Number one would be
- 17:54Speaker 1: Vice President Kamala Harris. Because she is the vice president,
- 17:58Speaker 1: she's second in line, she's already running with him. It
- 18:01Speaker 1: would make sense that Kamwa Harris would be the nominee.
- 18:05Speaker 1: The problem is she's hated by many Democrats and the
- 18:08Speaker 1: polling numbers for her are absolutely dismal. So again she's
- 18:14Speaker 1: number one in theory on paper. Then number two would
- 18:19Speaker 1: obviously be California Governor Gavin Newsom. The problem with Gavin
- 18:23Speaker 1: Newsom is you would be basically replacing an African American
- 18:27Speaker 1: woman with a white, rich dude from California. I don't
- 18:31Speaker 1: know how that's going to go over with minority voters,
- 18:34Speaker 1: specifically African Americans and women in the Democratic Party. That's
- 18:41Speaker 1: number two now, Gavin Newsom, just to be clear, and
- 18:45Speaker 1: some would say this was him being a good soldier,
- 18:48Speaker 1: but he spoke passionately in his defense after the debate,
- 18:53Speaker 1: serving as a surrogate role and showcasing his support. Now
- 18:58Speaker 1: he also, I think looked really good to Democrats. It
- 19:01Speaker 1: saw him because he contrasted what Joe Biden had just
- 19:04Speaker 1: done on stage.
- 19:06Speaker 2: And was faltering.
- 19:07Speaker 1: So one looks crisp and clean and new and energetic
- 19:11Speaker 1: in Newsome, and the other looks old SENI island Well,
- 19:15Speaker 1: I mean lost his dead gumb mine. Now here's the
- 19:18Speaker 1: other question. What happens if Joe Biden steps down? He
- 19:23Speaker 1: just comes out and says, all right, I'm out. It's
- 19:28Speaker 1: a fair question.
- 19:30Speaker 2: The answer.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Biden has spent the last several months accruing about four
- 19:35Speaker 1: thousand Democratic delegates by winning primary elections in US states
- 19:40Speaker 1: and territories. Those delegates would normally vote for him, but
- 19:45Speaker 1: the rules do not bind or force them to do so.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Delegates of the convention can vote with their conscience, which
- 19:52Speaker 1: means they can throw their vote to someone else. So
- 19:55Speaker 1: if Biden says, hey, I'm releasing the delegates. Okay, all
- 20:00Speaker 1: four thousand plus of you, I'm releasing you, and I'm
- 20:04Speaker 1: gonna release you, and you get to step I'm gonna
- 20:07Speaker 1: step aside, then there could be a throwdown competition among
- 20:13Speaker 1: other Democratic candidates become the nominee. In theory, at the
- 20:16Speaker 1: Democratic Convention, that would play out like a movie. That
- 20:19Speaker 1: could be good or bad for the Democrats, depending on
- 20:21Speaker 1: if they do it well. If there's a grand debate,
- 20:24Speaker 1: it could help the person coming out of there, or
- 20:25Speaker 1: it could completely divide the Democratic Party and ruin their
- 20:29Speaker 1: chances come November. It's a very risky game, so that
- 20:34Speaker 1: would be the easiest, easiest path. Biden releases the delegates,
- 20:39Speaker 1: so I'm stepping aside, and there could be a coronation.
- 20:43Speaker 1: They could say it's gonna be Kamla and that could
- 20:46Speaker 1: be the end of that, or they could say it's
- 20:47Speaker 1: gonna be Gavin Newsom, or there could be an all
- 20:50Speaker 1: out war. But ultimately it's gonna come down to Biden.
- 20:54Speaker 1: In that scenario, who would replace Joe Biden. Several candidates
- 21:02Speaker 1: could step into the fray. There is obviously no number one.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Kama Harris would be in theory the number one. I
- 21:09Speaker 1: mentioned that a moment ago, but she doesn't really She's
- 21:12Speaker 1: not really number one because people.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Don't really like her.
- 21:16Speaker 1: And so Harris would almost certainly be at the top
- 21:19Speaker 1: of the list just because she's the vice president. It's
- 21:21Speaker 1: the natural progression of power and the Democratic Party when
- 21:25Speaker 1: they ran, it's like, well, she would be a great
- 21:27Speaker 1: vice president in case thing happened in the president right,
- 21:30Speaker 1: like it's all there on paper. But she's got her
- 21:34Speaker 1: own problems. She's got her own problems at a rocky start.
- 21:39Speaker 1: She can't keep people around to work for her. That's
- 21:41Speaker 1: another problem. She apparently is impossible to work for the Democrats.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Insiders can't stand her and how much of a diva
- 21:49Speaker 1: she is, and that's putting it nicely.
- 21:52Speaker 2: The turnover in her staff is just horrendous.
- 21:54Speaker 1: It's basically like, you get a job working for it's
- 21:56Speaker 1: like congratulations if you started sitting out resumes. Yet it's
- 21:59Speaker 1: almost like you go to get a job with Kamwa
- 22:01Speaker 1: and then you immediately start looking for your next job,
- 22:03Speaker 1: because you know you're going to want to die if
- 22:06Speaker 1: you don't get out of there quickly. Now, let's also
- 22:11Speaker 1: talk about what the US Constitution says.
- 22:14Speaker 2: All right, this is important.
- 22:16Speaker 1: The US Constitution dictates the vice president become president if
- 22:20Speaker 1: the president dies.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Or becomes incapacitated.
- 22:25Speaker 1: But it is not way in on an inner party
- 22:29Speaker 1: process for choosing a nominee at the convention.
- 22:32Speaker 2: That's why I say it's open season.
- 22:34Speaker 1: So let's go through the list, because it is bigger
- 22:36Speaker 1: than Kamala Harris. Right on that list, California governor news
- 22:40Speaker 1: from that would be I think probably the top of
- 22:42Speaker 1: the list, Michigan governor because a lot of people say
- 22:46Speaker 1: they want a woman. By golly, they thought it was
- 22:48Speaker 1: gonna be Hillary Clinton, break that glass ceiling and feminists
- 22:50Speaker 1: out there right So Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, Kentucky Governor
- 22:56Speaker 1: Andy Masher, Illinois governor it's j is it in it?
- 23:01Speaker 2: JB? Yes? JB. Pritz KERR.
- 23:05Speaker 1: They've all been pushed on social media by Democrats as
- 23:08Speaker 1: possible replacements. Now they are Biden supporters and campaign surrogates
- 23:15Speaker 1: who are working to help get them elected in theory
- 23:18Speaker 1: until the debate happened this week, and then maybe they
- 23:21Speaker 1: were like, all right, I need to start looking out
- 23:22Speaker 1: for my own best interest, not his anymore. And so
- 23:26Speaker 1: they may be working the phones behind the scenes. Now
- 23:29Speaker 1: the next question that people ask is this, So, how
- 23:32Speaker 1: would a nominee be chosen?
- 23:34Speaker 2: It's a great question. This is how it's going to work.
- 23:37Speaker 1: There would likely be a free for all of sorts
- 23:40Speaker 1: between the Democratic heavyweights that were vying for the job.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Candidates would have to get signatures from six hundred convention
- 23:50Speaker 1: delegates to be nominated. They're expected to be about four
- 23:55Speaker 1: six and seventy two delegates at the Democratic Convention for
- 23:59Speaker 1: this year. They're including three thousand, nine and thirty three
- 24:04Speaker 1: pledge delegates in seven hundred and thirty nine automatic or
- 24:08Speaker 1: super delegates. This is according to the latest numbers that
- 24:11Speaker 1: we have. So you got to even get on the ballot.
- 24:15Speaker 1: If Biden was a step down, you'd got it. You'd
- 24:19Speaker 1: have to go to the convention, you'd have to suck
- 24:21Speaker 1: up to a bunch of people, and you'd have to
- 24:23Speaker 1: get at least six hundred signatures to be nominated. Now,
- 24:26Speaker 1: once you're nominated, you're still short of the majority, right,
- 24:29Speaker 1: you just need six hundred to get in the game.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I think most of these people will be able to
- 24:34Speaker 1: pull that off, Like Gavin NEOs would be able to
- 24:35Speaker 1: get a lot of those just from California alone. Michigan
- 24:38Speaker 1: Governor Whitman would be able to get a lot from her.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Kentucky governor, same thing, Illinois governor, same thing. So you'd
- 24:43Speaker 1: go to your home state first and go, hey, nominate me.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I need all your signatures, and then you'd find enough.
- 24:49Speaker 1: So there's it wouldn't be shocking if all of these
- 24:52Speaker 1: people got a shot at it. In theory, it doesn't
- 24:54Speaker 1: mean you're gonna get close to the number needed of
- 24:56Speaker 1: delegates actually get the nomination at the convention. Now here's
- 25:01Speaker 1: the other part that's very important. So you know how
- 25:03Speaker 1: this works. If no one gets a majority of the delegates,
- 25:08Speaker 1: then there would be a.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Quote broker convention. You may have heard brokered convention.
- 25:13Speaker 1: It was something talked about in twenty sixteen a lot
- 25:15Speaker 1: when Donald Trump they were talking about the possibility of
- 25:18Speaker 1: a brokered convention in Cleveland.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I was there for that when it was going on.
- 25:21Speaker 2: It was insane. Now, what is a brokered convention?
- 25:26Speaker 1: It is in which the delegates act as in essence,
- 25:29Speaker 1: free agents and negotiate with a party leadership to come
- 25:34Speaker 1: up with a nominee. Now, there's a lot of backscratching
- 25:38Speaker 1: and corruption you could call it, that goes on when
- 25:40Speaker 1: that happens, right, Like, there's a delegates really important, and
- 25:43Speaker 1: then what happens is some people they will team up
- 25:46Speaker 1: with a and become like a group like Latino delegates
- 25:48Speaker 1: or African American delegates or delegates from New York or
- 25:51Speaker 1: delegates from California. Why because there's power numbers. And then
- 25:55Speaker 1: it comes down to the bigger issue of hey, what
- 25:58Speaker 1: do I get in return? Because I'm now way more
- 26:02Speaker 1: important to you than winning a state on Super Tuesday
- 26:05Speaker 1: for example. Like think about the power these four thousand,
- 26:10Speaker 1: six hundred and seventy two delegates have if some of
- 26:13Speaker 1: them start teaming up into voting box, right, Well, I
- 26:17Speaker 1: mean there's people that could literally say, hey, if you
- 26:19Speaker 1: get if we give this to you, I want a
- 26:22Speaker 1: job at the White House or at the DD or
- 26:24Speaker 1: the FBI or the DJ whatever it may be, right,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I want to There's and there's leaders within the group
- 26:32Speaker 1: that may bring that group together and what they may
- 26:35Speaker 1: do is. They may say, Hey, I want to be
- 26:37Speaker 1: an ambassador to I don't know, like some amazing country
- 26:41Speaker 1: you know where I can just go hang out. I
- 26:42Speaker 1: want to go be a you know, open up a
- 26:45Speaker 1: consulate somewhere. For example, if I bring you fifteen votes
- 26:49Speaker 1: or thirty votes or sixty three votes, right, delegates, what
- 26:52Speaker 1: do I get in return for that?
- 26:54Speaker 3: Right?
- 26:54Speaker 1: I've heard being the ambassador of Bermuda is really nice.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Would love to be an ambassador to a really chill
- 27:00Speaker 1: country for example. Now, if no one gets the majority
- 27:05Speaker 1: of the delegates, then you have the broker convention.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Everybody's a free agents.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Now the rules would be established, by the way, and
- 27:12Speaker 1: there would be a rogue call vote for the names
- 27:14Speaker 1: placed into the nomination process at the convention.
- 27:18Speaker 2: And this gets insane.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Why because it could take many rounds of voting for
- 27:24Speaker 1: someone to get a majority and become the nominating I
- 27:27Speaker 1: remember the House speakership fight that we had recently and
- 27:30Speaker 1: how crazy that got. That would look mild in comparison
- 27:35Speaker 1: to a broker convention. At the Democratic convention, it would
- 27:41Speaker 1: be insane. I've been to several, as I've covered and
- 27:46Speaker 1: had to commentate Democrat conventions Okay, I've never enjoyed going
- 27:51Speaker 1: to the Democrat convention because obviously I'm an outsider and
- 27:54Speaker 1: they hate me because I'm a hardcore conservative. But I've gone,
- 27:58Speaker 1: and I can tell you if there's a broken convention,
- 28:00Speaker 1: I actually wish I was going. I have no plans
- 28:03Speaker 1: to be a Democratic convention this year, but I'd actually
- 28:05Speaker 1: regret not going and saying, all right, I want to
- 28:07Speaker 1: go and now do TV from there and radio from there,
- 28:10Speaker 1: because it's going to be so insane now it could
- 28:15Speaker 1: take several rounds. The next question is, hey, when was
- 28:18Speaker 1: the last broker convention? Well, the last broker convention when
- 28:23Speaker 1: Democrats failed to nominate a candidate on.
- 28:25Speaker 2: The first ballot was all the way back.
- 28:28Speaker 1: In nineteen fifty two, So it's been a long time, folks,
- 28:34Speaker 1: since this has happened. The other question I get asked
- 28:37Speaker 1: is this what happens if Biden steps down after the convention,
- 28:41Speaker 1: not before. If Biden steps down after the August convention,
- 28:47Speaker 1: the four hundred and thirty five members of the Democratic
- 28:51Speaker 1: National Committee would then choose a new candidate. Every one
- 28:55Speaker 1: of them becomes very powerful, very quickly, and the same
- 28:58Speaker 1: thing that I would expect to happen at the convention
- 29:00Speaker 1: with the delegates, would happen within these members of the
- 29:04Speaker 1: Democratic National Committee, because there's going to be a lot
- 29:08Speaker 1: of those conversations what do I get? Right, hey, Gavin,
- 29:12Speaker 1: you want my vote? What do I get? Because this
- 29:15Speaker 1: is all about power. If you're a member of the
- 29:18Speaker 1: Democratic National Committee, you're doing it for personal gain.
- 29:24Speaker 2: You're not doing it for like service to your country.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Right, You're you clearly are are somebody that wants to
- 29:30Speaker 1: be involved in the Democratic Party and you want to
- 29:33Speaker 1: be powerful, and that's why you're a member.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Well, this is what would happen.
- 29:39Speaker 1: The members would all get together, four hundred and thirty
- 29:41Speaker 1: five of them, and they would meet in a special
- 29:44Speaker 1: session and then they would select who the nominee would be.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Since it was after the convention, so all those delegates
- 29:53Speaker 1: of the convention basically would lose all of their power.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Right, so their leverage is only.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Good up until the end of the convention, and once the
- 30:00Speaker 1: convention's over, it's game over.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Now.
- 30:03Speaker 1: You may say, all right, well, then who the hell
- 30:05Speaker 1: are these four hundred and thirty five Democratic National Committee members. Well,
- 30:09Speaker 1: the answer simple, They are divided quote equally between men
- 30:14Speaker 1: and women.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Because Democratic Party is everything.
- 30:16Speaker 1: That way, right, as well as various constituency groups including
- 30:22Speaker 1: labor unions and their leaders, lgbt QIA plus plus plus
- 30:29Speaker 1: plus plus representatives, and racial minorities now other totals. Seventy
- 30:37Speaker 1: five of these four hundred and thirty five DNC members
- 30:39Speaker 1: are appointed at large by the chair, while the rest
- 30:43Speaker 1: are elected in their respective states. So the argument would be, hey,
- 30:48Speaker 1: we have representation from every state in America and the
- 30:51Speaker 1: Democratic you know committee, we all are here, Let's decide
- 30:55Speaker 1: who our nominees going to be.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Now, who could nominate an alternative? In that case? Is
- 31:02Speaker 2: the next question?
- 31:03Speaker 6: Right?
- 31:03Speaker 1: If there's a big fight, well, to nominate a candidate
- 31:07Speaker 1: to replace Biden on the ballot, this is what has
- 31:10Speaker 1: to happen.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Number one, The person would have to have the support of.
- 31:13Speaker 1: A minimum number of Democratic National Committee members. That number
- 31:19Speaker 1: and this is a guest because the number can change,
- 31:22Speaker 1: but it's going to be somewhere around at.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Least sixty of the four thirty five.
- 31:27Speaker 1: The exact number would be determined, by the way, by
- 31:30Speaker 1: the DNC's Rules Committee, which would lay out the rules
- 31:33Speaker 1: for the proceedings before they started. So there's a lot
- 31:36Speaker 1: of just insanity that could happen even there, but the
- 31:39Speaker 1: number that most people believe would be around the.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Number would be around sixty.
- 31:43Speaker 1: There would likely be nominating speeches by anyone that was
- 31:49Speaker 1: going to be nominated, and then seconding speeches by people
- 31:53Speaker 1: that why they're nominating the person. Now, multiple candidates, by
- 31:57Speaker 1: the way, could be nominated before the list is what
- 31:59Speaker 1: will down to the real front runners? I think we
- 32:02Speaker 1: all know who's going to be on that short list.
- 32:05Speaker 1: And then the other question is, all right, so if
- 32:07Speaker 1: we do that, then how do the votes counted?
- 32:09Speaker 2: How does that work?
- 32:11Speaker 1: The Democrat National Committee would hold its meeting in Washington,
- 32:14Speaker 1: they believe right, based on everything we've been told, and
- 32:18Speaker 1: the votes would be counted there. Ballots would be coded,
- 32:21Speaker 1: they'd be signed and collected by hand. And by the way,
- 32:23Speaker 1: I bet you have to use an ID to make
- 32:25Speaker 1: sure you're voting. If not, I'm going to show up
- 32:28Speaker 1: just say I'm a committee member and see if I
- 32:30Speaker 1: can vote, because remember Democrats don't believe in voter ID voting.
- 32:33Speaker 1: But I bet if they're having a Democrat National Committee meeting,
- 32:36Speaker 1: you're going to have to show some form of ID
- 32:38Speaker 1: before you vote.
- 32:40Speaker 2: These are going to be coded, signed, and collected by hand.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Now, if a vote were to happen that happened, were
- 32:47Speaker 1: to happen very close to election day, then it gets
- 32:50Speaker 1: even more crazy. All right, So election day's Imember the fifth,
- 32:54Speaker 1: because it would not be possible to meet in person,
- 32:58Speaker 1: So then the meeting would actually be viral.
- 33:01Speaker 2: So you take everything that I just told you into consideration.
- 33:06Speaker 1: And what this sounds like to many is this would
- 33:09Speaker 1: be And I'm one of those, it's whether I don't
- 33:12Speaker 1: I don't care how many Democratic journalists, Okay, I don't
- 33:20Speaker 1: care how many editorial boards demand that Joe Biden set
- 33:27Speaker 1: down saying it's time for him to go, that he
- 33:28Speaker 1: can't win without.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Joe Biden doing it himself and walking away.
- 33:36Speaker 1: This thing gets really really nasty, Okay, Like this thing
- 33:40Speaker 1: gets nasty, It gets ugly. Not not only does it
- 33:47Speaker 1: get ugly, but it but it also I think would
- 33:52Speaker 1: divide the party. You'd have a bunch of people screaming race. Okay,
- 33:58Speaker 1: you'd have a bunch of people screaming, Kamala Harris deserves
- 34:03Speaker 1: this and it's owed this right like that, Like that
- 34:06Speaker 1: would be a large part of this. Like they would
- 34:08Speaker 1: just say it straight up, like, go, hold on, we
- 34:10Speaker 1: are owed this, she's the one. If you don't pick
- 34:13Speaker 1: a woman, right then it's I think it could be
- 34:16Speaker 1: a huge problem as.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Well, like a massive problem.
- 34:20Speaker 1: So you know, I look at this and what I
- 34:24Speaker 1: see is a whole another level of corruption. The Democratic
- 34:31Speaker 1: Party would have an infighting that you couldn't even imagine.
- 34:36Speaker 1: And I don't believe it would be a coronation at all. Okay,
- 34:39Speaker 1: Like I think this would be a drag out, knock
- 34:44Speaker 1: down fight that could divide the party seventeen ways to Sunday.
- 34:50Speaker 2: That's just my gut. This would be an ugly, ugly battle.
- 34:57Speaker 2: And then you'd have to sew.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Up the wound triage the Democratic Party and then try
- 35:02Speaker 1: to get them united all behind a candidate. That would
- 35:07Speaker 1: be extremely, extremely, extremely tough job.
- 35:12Speaker 2: That would be a tough job for anybody.
- 35:15Speaker 1: But look, if you're in the if you're a feminist
- 35:18Speaker 1: and they pick Gavin Newsom, you're gonna be mad. If
- 35:22Speaker 1: you think a woman should be present, you think it
- 35:24Speaker 1: should be an African American woman, and you should break
- 35:26Speaker 1: that glass ceiling, which the Democratic Party is absolutely obsessed with,
- 35:29Speaker 1: right like they are.
- 35:30Speaker 2: They're obsessed with that and all of a sudden, it
- 35:33Speaker 2: doesn't go to Kamwa.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Harris like, I think there's gonna be a lot of
- 35:37Speaker 1: African Americans women, specifically the BIC I'm done, like like
- 35:41Speaker 1: I'm out, I'm done, I am done with you.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna Now.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Does that mean they're gona vote for Trump? Of course not, Okay.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna go vote for Trump. I
- 35:52Speaker 1: just think they won't vote. I think they'll just go
- 35:56Speaker 1: home or stay home and they'll say I'm done with you, guys.
- 36:02Speaker 1: There's also another part right now that's important, and this
- 36:06Speaker 1: is the last aspect of this that I'm gonna mention,
- 36:10Speaker 1: and that is how much donor fatigue is there right now?
- 36:15Speaker 1: How much donor fatigue is there people that have given
- 36:18Speaker 1: a lot of money and raised a lot of money
- 36:21Speaker 1: and given all this cash to Joe Biden and then
- 36:24Speaker 1: you're basically with a new candidate starting all over. So
- 36:27Speaker 1: they're going to come running to you, going, we need
- 36:28Speaker 1: a bunch of money. Are there going to be a
- 36:31Speaker 1: lot of people they're gonna be excited about giving major donations?
- 36:35Speaker 6: Right?
- 36:36Speaker 1: Is there going to be a lot of Democrats? Like yep, No,
- 36:38Speaker 1: I'm in for another half a million. I'm in for
- 36:41Speaker 1: another one hundred thousand. You know, these super packs have
- 36:43Speaker 1: been raising all this money and advocating for Joe Biden.
- 36:48Speaker 2: You're going to start all over.
- 36:51Speaker 1: And so when you do, are there going to be
- 36:54Speaker 1: a bunch of donors They're willing to go and basically
- 36:57Speaker 1: revamp up a new campaign for a new candidate who
- 37:02Speaker 1: is in theory way.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Behind Donald Trump.
- 37:07Speaker 1: You notice I have not mentioned Donald Trump name until
- 37:09Speaker 1: now what forty I mean minutes into this thing.
- 37:13Speaker 2: That's how good it is.
- 37:14Speaker 1: By the way, for Donald Trump, this is so complicated
- 37:17Speaker 1: that his name doesn't even come up until forty minutes
- 37:19Speaker 1: into the conversation. Okay, that and Democrats know this, which
- 37:27Speaker 1: then brings me to my final play. There's a chance
- 37:31Speaker 1: that Joe Biden, they could say, let's just try to
- 37:33Speaker 1: get him elected, get across the finish line, Let's try
- 37:37Speaker 1: to do this thing, and then after we elect him,
- 37:40Speaker 1: we'll force him to step down, or the family may
- 37:43Speaker 1: say we'll step down. Now, whether you believe them or not,
- 37:46Speaker 1: that's a different conversation. Okay, whether you believe them or not,
- 37:50Speaker 1: very very very very very very very different conversation.
- 37:55Speaker 2: You may not believe them, but that could be their plan.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Hey, we'll get him through, we'll try to knock this out,
- 38:02Speaker 1: and then maybe he'll resign while in office and the
- 38:06Speaker 1: vice president becomes the president. Never underestimate how disgusting and
- 38:12Speaker 1: vile these people in the Democratic Party are. You also
- 38:16Speaker 1: have to remember their socialists, Communists and Marxists, so they
- 38:20Speaker 1: don't really care about like screwing people, Okay, including Joe Biden.
- 38:26Speaker 1: And don't think for a moment that Joe Biden doesn't
- 38:28Speaker 1: know that either.
