- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things, and it's tough, true good of the
- 0:24Speaker 1: listening to the other. Please, I don't join jo. You
- 0:59Speaker 1: gotta turn you, you gotta turn to turn them out.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Turn you got to turn them out to turn the water.
- 1:47Speaker 1: The water got me come come on your bah, I
- 2:02Speaker 1: show will a good morning everybody. Y'all listening to the voice,
- 2:07Speaker 1: come on dig me now. But it only Steve Harvey
- 2:10Speaker 1: got a radio show man. Instead of trying to be
- 2:13Speaker 1: about the business to y'all, I'm I'm I'm doing all
- 2:18Speaker 1: I can. But you know what's crazy in the efforts
- 2:22Speaker 1: that I make. I can do more. You know, my
- 2:27Speaker 1: father used to tell me something when I was growing up.
- 2:29Speaker 1: He says, son, when you've done your best and you've
- 2:35Speaker 1: done all you can, sit still for a second and
- 2:40Speaker 1: just do a little bit more. Always remember that, he said,
- 2:45Speaker 1: When you've done the best you can and you can
- 2:47Speaker 1: done all you can think of, he say, sit still
- 2:50Speaker 1: for a minute and do some more. And you know
- 2:53Speaker 1: what I've discovered in my life, always have a little more.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I ain't ever just out, out, out complete. I can't
- 3:00Speaker 1: take another step. There ain't another breath in me, There
- 3:04Speaker 1: ain't there ain't another thought I can produce. I'm never
- 3:07Speaker 1: completely out, man. Just take a rest for a minute, man,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and then just do a little bit more and that that.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many times that's helped me
- 3:19Speaker 1: get over the top. You know, I was watching a
- 3:22Speaker 1: documentary about people climbing Mount Everest and how difficult climbing
- 3:26Speaker 1: Mount Everest was, and how they have on the hill
- 3:31Speaker 1: something called like a death zone or killing zone, where
- 3:34Speaker 1: the majority of people run out of oxygen and they
- 3:37Speaker 1: have to turn back. Well, what's crazy is it's right
- 3:42Speaker 1: in view of the summit. You can actually see the
- 3:46Speaker 1: top of Mount Everest from there. But it's but it's
- 3:50Speaker 1: that little bit that's left that's this most difficult. Now,
- 3:54Speaker 1: I forgot all the reasons why they said most people
- 3:56Speaker 1: don't make it from there, and more people have lost
- 3:59Speaker 1: their lives in that area. I don't know what it is,
- 4:02Speaker 1: but the people that make it to the top of
- 4:06Speaker 1: Mount efforts. They all had to go through that same
- 4:09Speaker 1: zone or that same area, but they had a little
- 4:14Speaker 1: bit more that allowed them to get to the top.
- 4:18Speaker 1: You know a lot of people have had accidents up
- 4:20Speaker 1: there trying that, so I'm not even really sure if
- 4:22Speaker 1: Mount Everest analogy is a good one. But let's just
- 4:27Speaker 1: break it down a little bit more. Let's just talk
- 4:29Speaker 1: about life. There's a poem I learned back when the
- 4:34Speaker 1: host pledge, and it's called don't Quit. It goes like this,
- 4:37Speaker 1: if I make a mistake, I'm just trying to drum
- 4:40Speaker 1: it up, So here we go. It says when things
- 4:42Speaker 1: go wrong, as they sometimes will, when the road you're
- 4:45Speaker 1: trudging seems all uphill, when your funds are low and
- 4:50Speaker 1: your debts are high, when you want to smile, but
- 4:54Speaker 1: you have to sigh when cares are pressing you down
- 4:58Speaker 1: a bit, rest if you must, but don't quit. For
- 5:03Speaker 1: life is queer with its twisting turns, as every one
- 5:06Speaker 1: of us must sometimes learn, And many a fellow has
- 5:10Speaker 1: turned about when he might have won had he stuck
- 5:14Speaker 1: it out. So don't give up. Though the pace seems slow,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you may succeed with another blow. Often the gold is
- 5:24Speaker 1: nearer than it seems to a faint and a faltering man.
- 5:29Speaker 1: And often the struggler has given up when he might
- 5:32Speaker 1: have captured the victor's cup, and he learns too late,
- 5:36Speaker 1: when the night came down, how close he was to
- 5:40Speaker 1: the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out. It's
- 5:47Speaker 1: your silver tint of your clouds of doubt, and you
- 5:51Speaker 1: never can tell how close you are. It may be
- 5:54Speaker 1: kneel when it seems afar, so stick to the fight
- 6:00Speaker 1: when your hardest hit. It's when things seem worse that
- 6:04Speaker 1: you mustn't quit. I remember it because I had a
- 6:08Speaker 1: special method of helping you remember stuff back then. But
- 6:11Speaker 1: I remembered that at that point. My dad has kept me.
- 6:15Speaker 1: You know, we often talk about scripture and everything, and
- 6:19Speaker 1: then I don't see how I could live without it.
- 6:21Speaker 1: But every now and then, man, somebody has a writing.
- 6:24Speaker 1: God puts a writing on somebody's hard that delivers a message. Man,
- 6:28Speaker 1: that can help people. I use every motivational tool that
- 6:31Speaker 1: I possibly can to climb this letter of success or
- 6:34Speaker 1: try to be the best fall and the best husband
- 6:36Speaker 1: I can be. I've done a lot of changing over
- 6:39Speaker 1: the years, and so have you. But change is necessary
- 6:42Speaker 1: in order to grow. If you don't make changes, folks,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you can't grow. I was a young man on my set.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I kept looking at him, and a sharp little young
- 6:51Speaker 1: dude just on my set, and he had these dreads
- 6:56Speaker 1: and I mean they were they were super long, man,
- 7:00Speaker 1: they will well below the middle of his back, I
- 7:03Speaker 1: mean images long. And he kept talking to me, and
- 7:05Speaker 1: he kept talking to me and talking to me. So
- 7:08Speaker 1: your man kept talking to him, and I said, hey, man,
- 7:10Speaker 1: you know you do you're a huge self, a favor
- 7:13Speaker 1: in the business you're in. If you got a haircut,
- 7:16Speaker 1: you would do yourself a huge favor. I said, your
- 7:19Speaker 1: images everything, man, I said, you keep stopping me in
- 7:21Speaker 1: the hallway to try to tell me what you're doing,
- 7:23Speaker 1: what you are, but all I see is your hair.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I keep trying to figure out what you're doing with
- 7:27Speaker 1: all that hair. Man, Now you can feel how you
- 7:30Speaker 1: want to feel. But I'm like an employer. I employed people.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So when I'm walking through the hallway and I try
- 7:38Speaker 1: to think of you traveling with me and you sitting
- 7:40Speaker 1: in a meeting with me, I try to imagine you
- 7:42Speaker 1: in your suit sitting there talking business with me. And so,
- 7:46Speaker 1: just like other employers are, I'm just having a real
- 7:49Speaker 1: story with you. So I said, man, you'll to consider
- 7:51Speaker 1: cutting your hair. He said, Man, mister Harvey, I've been
- 7:55Speaker 1: growing his hair side a little boy. I said, how
- 7:58Speaker 1: old are you now? He said twenty eight? I said, well,
- 8:01Speaker 1: how long you want to hang on to what you
- 8:03Speaker 1: was when you was a little boy? You know, if
- 8:05Speaker 1: you started growing your hair when you're a teenager. I mean,
- 8:07Speaker 1: you're twenty eight now. And I said, so, let me
- 8:10Speaker 1: help you understand something. Let me let me ask you something.
- 8:13Speaker 1: What does it do for you? Hey? Man, it's just
- 8:16Speaker 1: who I am. It's I said, so you your have
- 8:21Speaker 1: He said no, no, but it's a part of me.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I say, that part of you that you're hanging on to.
- 8:27Speaker 1: What does it do for you? I just like it? Well, dog,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I like ice cream, but I feed that. But if
- 8:34Speaker 1: I hang on the ice cream and eat ice cream
- 8:36Speaker 1: every single day, my body gonna reflect that. What is
- 8:40Speaker 1: it that you hanging on to that you don't want
- 8:43Speaker 1: to let go of? That's prohibiting you from being what
- 8:45Speaker 1: all you can be? See, it's hard to be what
- 8:48Speaker 1: all you can be if you want to keep being
- 8:50Speaker 1: all you was? Don't that make sense to you? So
- 8:55Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many times I've had to change.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Change is necessary to grow. You can't be all you
- 9:04Speaker 1: can be if you want to keep hanging on to
- 9:07Speaker 1: all you was. That don't make no sense. How do
- 9:12Speaker 1: you go forward? If you keep going backwards? You can't
- 9:16Speaker 1: stay here and go there? Do you understand that if
- 9:21Speaker 1: you want to go over there, you must remove yourself
- 9:24Speaker 1: from right here? Oh? I got right Here is comfortable,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I got right here is safe. But over there's where
- 9:32Speaker 1: the shade is. Over, There's where the fruit is. Over
- 9:36Speaker 1: there is where the opportunity is. Over there is where
- 9:41Speaker 1: the mountain of goal is. So why are you stuck
- 9:44Speaker 1: on here? You got to leave here to go over there.
- 9:48Speaker 1: You can't be all you can be if you want
- 9:51Speaker 1: to stay stuck on who you was. Change this growth
- 9:54Speaker 1: is necessary. All let's go. You're listening to, ladies and gentlemen.
- 10:03Speaker 1: We are here another great morning. This morning is a
- 10:07Speaker 1: little different than other mornings. Don't because normally I open
- 10:11Speaker 1: up with well, I ain't gonna stop. I'm opening up
- 10:13Speaker 1: with gratitude. I'm glad I'm here, Grateful I made it,
- 10:16Speaker 1: Glad I wasn't at the oscar last night. So many
- 10:19Speaker 1: things I'm grateful. I'm gonna tell you right now, to you, okay, okay,
- 10:25Speaker 1: now old what we're doing, lady and Jentleman Sherley Strawberry
- 10:29Speaker 1: collif for Real, the Mouth of the South, Mississippi, Monica,
- 10:32Speaker 1: Junior to wonder Boy kill Space and nephew, Tommy and myself.
- 10:37Speaker 1: We are here. Oh, I'll normally would go, Junior, what's
- 10:40Speaker 1: on your mind? But I already know what's on that
- 10:42Speaker 1: mind because it's on everybody's mind this morning. Yes, yes,
- 10:50Speaker 1: that was unbelievable. Hey, let me tell you how crazy
- 10:52Speaker 1: it is. I'm not even in the country. Huh yeah,
- 10:58Speaker 1: listen to me, man, I'm in the Middle East. All
- 11:02Speaker 1: they talking about, dog, they all they're talking about. You know.
- 11:14Speaker 1: First of all, you gotta understand Will Smith is an
- 11:17Speaker 1: international star. Yes, so most people know who he is.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Those who don't are trying to figure it out over him.
- 11:28Speaker 1: But the number one question is why did he do
- 11:33Speaker 1: that on television? Number one? We're all trying to figure
- 11:39Speaker 1: that out. That's a worldwide question. We don't know if
- 11:43Speaker 1: he could take that one back. That was not good, man.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I mean, in his speech, he sounded like he felt justified.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Though in his acceptance speech, he also won Best Actor
- 11:56Speaker 1: for his performance in King Richard. Yeah, it puts a
- 11:59Speaker 1: blemish on that. I'm sorry it puts a blemish on
- 12:02Speaker 1: a big one. It was the iconic moment in TV
- 12:06Speaker 1: history that Chris Rock said a joke and you got
- 12:12Speaker 1: up from your seat and walked on steam and assault. Yeah. See,
- 12:20Speaker 1: here's here's the history I know behind it. First of all,
- 12:26Speaker 1: knowing Chris Rock the way I do, Chris Rock is
- 12:29Speaker 1: not a mean spirited guy, and he definitely don't do
- 12:32Speaker 1: stuff about people's family, you know, wives and stuff. What
- 12:36Speaker 1: happens is into my understanding, this is what the insiders
- 12:40Speaker 1: are telling me. Jada's hair is that left because she
- 12:44Speaker 1: has some type of problem and her daughter, her daughter
- 12:48Speaker 1: had cut off her head to support her in it. Yes, so,
- 12:51Speaker 1: and I guess it bugs Jada, which I can understand.
- 12:55Speaker 1: When Chris Rock made the joke, I don't think it
- 12:58Speaker 1: was about that. It was simply about out the lower
- 13:01Speaker 1: hair cut her resembling Demi Moore when Demi Moore did
- 13:05Speaker 1: g I Joe Jane Jane. And I think that the
- 13:09Speaker 1: joke was looking forward to g I Joe Jane and
- 13:13Speaker 1: that was Joe Jane too, right, And that was a joke.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And I don't think it was like cracking on her
- 13:20Speaker 1: condition or anything, because we don't laughed at it at first,
- 13:24Speaker 1: we don't laugh. Then when he saw his wife, he
- 13:27Speaker 1: went up there. When we come back, we're talking about
- 13:30Speaker 1: this this morning. I'm gonna give you my opinion after
- 13:33Speaker 1: I hear from the crew. I'm gonna let the crew
- 13:34Speaker 1: share that moment. Okay, coming up at the top of
- 13:37Speaker 1: the hour. We thought last night, we'll talk about it
- 13:40Speaker 1: when we come back right after this. You're listening, all right,
- 13:46Speaker 1: Steve so Um. We all saw it last night at
- 13:49Speaker 1: the Oscars when Will Smith walked up on stage and
- 13:52Speaker 1: smacked Chris Rock in the mouth for telling what we
- 13:57Speaker 1: all thought was a harmless joke, which can Adians dude
- 14:01Speaker 1: all the time. At the Oscars. Will laughed at first
- 14:04Speaker 1: about the joke. Jada didn't like it, And here we are.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I don't think that Chris knowing Chris was talking about
- 14:11Speaker 1: a condition in her hair. I don't even think he's
- 14:14Speaker 1: aware of it. I don't. I'm just I'm just talking
- 14:17Speaker 1: about the g I Jane joke being she cut her
- 14:22Speaker 1: hair off like Demi Moore. Will Smith laughed at it
- 14:25Speaker 1: at first, Yes he did, and then he went up
- 14:28Speaker 1: on stage and slapped his dude. Now, kudos to Rock
- 14:33Speaker 1: for being professional. Yes, sir, he's a g to me.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Ch is glad, yeah, glad. He took the slap like
- 14:43Speaker 1: it was like from a third class. He didn't buckle
- 14:45Speaker 1: or nothing. He just went bo and then he said,
- 14:48Speaker 1: damn man, we're just slapped the sugar honey iced tea
- 14:51Speaker 1: out of me. Joke, man, it was a joke. Okay.
- 14:55Speaker 1: What you all thoughts well? Okay? Initially, Steve, I thought
- 14:59Speaker 1: it was a bit it. I honestly I did. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: believe too. I did not believe that Will Smith walked
- 15:05Speaker 1: up on stage like that without an explanation and just
- 15:09Speaker 1: smacked Chris Rock in the mount. I just didn't. I
- 15:11Speaker 1: could not believe that, not on this night, you know,
- 15:15Speaker 1: not on this night. Everybody said Will was the favorite
- 15:18Speaker 1: to win the Oscar, all of it. It was Will's night.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Why would you do this? I think he blemished his
- 15:23Speaker 1: whole night. I think he blemished his Oscar. This was
- 15:27Speaker 1: the most unclassy thing I have ever seen this guy
- 15:30Speaker 1: do ever, man ever, Yeah, y'all know me? Oh right?
- 15:38Speaker 1: Dot com Oh my god, Will I had a beat
- 15:42Speaker 1: hill as I think for me, the issue it was
- 15:48Speaker 1: so much going on, Like I thought it was comedy too,
- 15:50Speaker 1: I thought it was a scared I thought it was
- 15:52Speaker 1: a comedy bit. When once I realized what was really
- 15:55Speaker 1: happened happening, I was I was mad. I was mad
- 15:59Speaker 1: that it happened. It was such an iconic night, well
- 16:03Speaker 1: produced by a black man, Beyonce performing opening up. Uh,
- 16:10Speaker 1: just how big the night was, and for it to
- 16:13Speaker 1: be where you go on stage and assaulted a man
- 16:17Speaker 1: for a joke. I just thought he overreacted. You're assaulted
- 16:22Speaker 1: Chris rock Will, Yeah, this is us, this is our community.
- 16:26Speaker 1: That's what kind of hurt me the most. I'm so
- 16:30Speaker 1: surprised he was able to stay there and not be
- 16:32Speaker 1: escorted out because of his violent act. You know, it
- 16:36Speaker 1: was more than Kanye did at the Grammys with Taylor Swift.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I mean, it was just beyond Kanye. Yeah, it was
- 16:45Speaker 1: way beyond that, you know. And we talked about Kanye.
- 16:48Speaker 1: We're still talking about it, you know when it comes up.
- 16:51Speaker 1: But this right here, I couldn't believe it. No, I
- 16:55Speaker 1: thought it was a skit. I did. I've been doing
- 16:58Speaker 1: skits all night long, So okay, did he go another one?
- 17:02Speaker 1: And we had Will over the shop and he said
- 17:05Speaker 1: we got some surprises. I was like, yeah, just tay
- 17:07Speaker 1: me one of the packer. Yeah, he junior. Have you
- 17:12Speaker 1: been crying all night over about the whole thing because
- 17:19Speaker 1: your voice, man, did just send you to tears, because
- 17:21Speaker 1: you like you've been up all night weeping. But here's
- 17:27Speaker 1: another thing. Like we said earlier, Will Smith won the
- 17:30Speaker 1: Academy Award for Best Packer for his performance in King Richard.
- 17:36Speaker 1: He apologized in his acceptance speech to the Academy, but
- 17:41Speaker 1: not to Chris Rock. This was your moment to humble
- 17:45Speaker 1: yourself and just say, hey, man, you know I overreacted. Brother,
- 17:49Speaker 1: I'm sorry, you know whatever, I apologize for real. Whenever, yeah, whenever.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Y'all want my opinion, let me know. But let me
- 17:58Speaker 1: just say this as a comedy, I'm telling you right now,
- 18:02Speaker 1: slap one of the kings. Yeah, we gonna have to
- 18:06Speaker 1: immediately go to commercial break. I'm talking about to have
- 18:11Speaker 1: one of them show ain't slapping Saint Louis. You ain't
- 18:15Speaker 1: slapping Chicago, the late great Bernie Mack. You damn show
- 18:19Speaker 1: ain't slapping Cleveland. So I don't know what you're find
- 18:22Speaker 1: to do, dog, and you ain't gonna slap Compton. So
- 18:24Speaker 1: I'm trying to figure out but you know, Chris, Chris smaller,
- 18:29Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Yeah, I could not believe
- 18:36Speaker 1: he did it. I have an opinion, but I need
- 18:39Speaker 1: some minutes, though you haven't in some minutes show. Okay,
- 18:48Speaker 1: here's a deal. First of all, I was a bit
- 18:53Speaker 1: torn because I didn't see it actually because I'm out
- 18:55Speaker 1: of the country. So I saw just a piece of
- 18:58Speaker 1: the tape. Then I watched what is said, Then I
- 19:00Speaker 1: watched his acceptance speech, and I watched it all up.
- 19:03Speaker 1: So I'm torn between a man defending his wife's honor,
- 19:08Speaker 1: and then I'm torn between dignity, and then I'm torn
- 19:12Speaker 1: between the joke. The joke was not a vile joke. Man.
- 19:17Speaker 1: If he said, you know your wife can do this
- 19:20Speaker 1: to me and do that to me, down, down, down, down,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I'm coming up there and putting my foot on it.
- 19:25Speaker 1: But that joke he told was not a mean spirit
- 19:29Speaker 1: of joke, and I don't think he did it with
- 19:30Speaker 1: the intent of knowing that Jada has a problem with
- 19:33Speaker 1: her hair, because Chris Rock ain't that type of dude. Secondly,
- 19:37Speaker 1: so I can understand the defense of your wife, but
- 19:40Speaker 1: the way he should have did it was after the show.
- 19:45Speaker 1: He could have stepped to him and said, hey man,
- 19:48Speaker 1: and he could have slapped the taste out of Chris
- 19:50Speaker 1: rock mouth and then they could have worked it out.
- 19:52Speaker 1: But I thought it was a real punk ass move
- 19:55Speaker 1: to go up there on national TV where you know
- 19:57Speaker 1: you can slap this brother. See this how you know
- 20:00Speaker 1: it was? It was some It was some Hollywood ass mess.
- 20:03Speaker 1: He slapped a dude and turned his back and walked off.
- 20:06Speaker 1: You know good in hair wail in real life? Man,
- 20:09Speaker 1: do you slap? If you slap a black man in
- 20:13Speaker 1: real life and try to turn your back and walk off,
- 20:17Speaker 1: it ain't no way you can do that. Will Smith
- 20:20Speaker 1: knew what he was doing, He know the moment and everything.
- 20:25Speaker 1: But he blew it. He absolutely one blew it. And
- 20:31Speaker 1: he put Rock in a place where Rock had to
- 20:33Speaker 1: do the only dignified thing he could do was standing
- 20:37Speaker 1: in took the slap black a man. I got MODI say, oh,
- 20:41Speaker 1: all right, we'll be back with more of Steve's commentary
- 20:45Speaker 1: on last night and Will Smith slapping Chris Rock We'll
- 20:50Speaker 1: get into that right after this. You're listening show, all right,
- 20:56Speaker 1: we all thought last night, We've been talking about it
- 20:59Speaker 1: all morning, everybody around the world Steve. You say it's
- 21:02Speaker 1: talking about it. You're halfway around the world and they're
- 21:04Speaker 1: talking about it over there. It was Smith's International. It
- 21:09Speaker 1: was early morning over here, you know. Man. But like
- 21:13Speaker 1: I said, here's here's the thing of it. I understand
- 21:16Speaker 1: the defending the honor of your wife. I'm that dude,
- 21:19Speaker 1: But you're gonna have to do something for that. He
- 21:22Speaker 1: didn't do that. That joke was not worthy of the reaction.
- 21:27Speaker 1: If he was gonna have a reaction, I think that
- 21:29Speaker 1: Will should have done. The man thing was stepped to
- 21:32Speaker 1: him afterwards in that press room, and if he wanted
- 21:35Speaker 1: to slap Chris, then he could have slapped Chris in
- 21:37Speaker 1: the press room and seeing high wind. But see, he
- 21:42Speaker 1: laughed at the joke till he saw Jada's reaction. Now
- 21:45Speaker 1: Will's But now let me tell you something. That's a
- 21:48Speaker 1: Hollywood move. Now to go up there on national TV
- 21:52Speaker 1: slap another black man, turn around your back and walk off,
- 21:56Speaker 1: because you know he can't do nothing. See I know this,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I know he noticed because we all been in Hollywood
- 22:02Speaker 1: long enough. So now to turn your back and walk off,
- 22:06Speaker 1: you're gonna slap the dude and then turn around and
- 22:08Speaker 1: walk off. You know in real life that the day
- 22:10Speaker 1: age the way that's gonna go. You already and and
- 22:14Speaker 1: and and and and and Rock is a Jersey boy,
- 22:16Speaker 1: so now so, And I didn't think the moment was that.
- 22:19Speaker 1: And I think he overreacted, like Carlin said, he paid
- 22:23Speaker 1: too much into the moment his acceptance speech, that was
- 22:26Speaker 1: raggedy apologizing to the Academy. But but here's what I
- 22:31Speaker 1: think is gonna happen when this go down and wake
- 22:34Speaker 1: up the right way. That's gonna be some type of
- 22:37Speaker 1: banning from the Oscars of Will Smith. Because look, they
- 22:42Speaker 1: took Kanye off the Grammys for saying, um, Trevor, no,
- 22:49Speaker 1: he took They took him off the Grammars, the Oscars.
- 22:53Speaker 1: It's all Hollywood is about. It's the biggest moment. And
- 22:56Speaker 1: for you to do that on the biggest moment, yes, violence,
- 23:02Speaker 1: they all told him, right, Yeah, in your biggest moment,
- 23:08Speaker 1: it's when the devil comes for you. Yeah, you should
- 23:10Speaker 1: have handled that totally different. Man. He owes locking apology,
- 23:15Speaker 1: but you know, a public apology, just like I was
- 23:20Speaker 1: waiting for that during his speech last night. I was
- 23:23Speaker 1: waiting for him. Let me tell you what I think
- 23:25Speaker 1: this is. I apologize all this stuff that built up
- 23:29Speaker 1: about him and his wife and and and and their marriage.
- 23:34Speaker 1: That stuff has been brewing so long. You guys have
- 23:37Speaker 1: been putting yourself out there for so long. Now you
- 23:41Speaker 1: on front page, and now if anybody says anything, you're
- 23:44Speaker 1: ready to attack, because but you put this out there.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Y'all have been putting this out there for months for
- 23:51Speaker 1: mother else would we know it if they didn't tell us.
- 23:54Speaker 1: We don't know what's going on in their bedroom or
- 23:57Speaker 1: anywhere anything about their marriage. We just loved Will and Jada.
- 24:00Speaker 1: That was it. Now all this stuff just come out.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Let me let me repeat what Chris Rock said, Steve,
- 24:06Speaker 1: Chris Rock said, Jada, I love you, g I Jane too,
- 24:11Speaker 1: can't wait to see it. That's all he said. That's
- 24:14Speaker 1: what he said, right, That's that's not a slap you
- 24:20Speaker 1: in the mouth moment. And don't I know Chris Rock,
- 24:24Speaker 1: Chris Rock would never do that to a person's wife.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I'm look man. Me and Chris Rock have had personal
- 24:29Speaker 1: moments about this because somebody said something about my wife
- 24:32Speaker 1: one time and Chris Rock called me about it. He's
- 24:36Speaker 1: not that type of guy. He's not. And I heard
- 24:39Speaker 1: the joke. And it didn't call for all of that.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Will Smith did a Hollywood slap. He showed his ass
- 24:47Speaker 1: on national TV when he knew where. He knew it
- 24:49Speaker 1: wasn't gonna repercussion. Listen, man, we black men. You know
- 24:52Speaker 1: how this go? You slap a black man, don't anywhere
- 24:56Speaker 1: but there. Just slap any black dude. And see how
- 24:59Speaker 1: I go slap a dude that drive PEPSI truck. See
- 25:02Speaker 1: how go you slapping dude down at seventy eleven? See hi,
- 25:06Speaker 1: go slap a black dude in and it's not gonna
- 25:12Speaker 1: it's not gonna be what we all think. Let me
- 25:17Speaker 1: explain something to you. I wish you would slap me.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I wish you would let me tell you something. I
- 25:23Speaker 1: might not be able to whip you, but we damn
- 25:26Speaker 1: show find out we got we got and see I
- 25:31Speaker 1: can get whipped. I know I can't. I ain't what
- 25:34Speaker 1: I used to be, but I tell you what I
- 25:36Speaker 1: still am though I'm that one. Yeah that I ain't
- 25:41Speaker 1: to turn the other cheek. Dude, I ain't never been here.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I just think we all did that Hollywood moment, man,
- 25:48Speaker 1: and I think that's gonna have to be some repercussions.
- 25:50Speaker 1: They're going to they got to do something, as this
- 25:54Speaker 1: is the biggest night in Hollywood. You can't do this
- 25:57Speaker 1: to this man, this man you him to come and
- 26:01Speaker 1: be a presenter. He wrote a joke which committe he
- 26:04Speaker 1: was invited, Yes, he was invited to be a presenter.
- 26:07Speaker 1: You let somebody walk up on that stage and slap
- 26:11Speaker 1: a presenter on national TV. Then you give him. He
- 26:13Speaker 1: can keep the oscar. You ain't gotta take the oscar.
- 26:15Speaker 1: All that. I don't care about all that, because he
- 26:17Speaker 1: did a great job in the movie. From what I understand,
- 26:19Speaker 1: they ain't what I'm talking about. But he knew who
- 26:22Speaker 1: he was slapping and where he was slapping him out right.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I just hated to see you because this is Will
- 26:28Speaker 1: Packer's big night. Yes, he did an excellent job. Man,
- 26:34Speaker 1: it was flawless up until that point, up until the slap.
- 26:37Speaker 1: It was flawless. In my opinion that that Will Smith
- 26:41Speaker 1: and I mean Will Packer and Shayla Cowen did an
- 26:45Speaker 1: excellent job on the on the Oscars, excellent job. It
- 26:48Speaker 1: was flawless up until then. Really, Okay, listen to this,
- 26:52Speaker 1: listen to this. Okay, I have the official statement from
- 26:57Speaker 1: the LAPD. Come on. Yes, we have a LAPD. Investigative
- 27:02Speaker 1: entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during
- 27:06Speaker 1: the Academy World program. The incident involved one individual slapping another.
- 27:11Speaker 1: The individual involved has declined to file a police report.
- 27:14Speaker 1: If they involved party desires a police report at a
- 27:18Speaker 1: later date, LAPD would be available to complete an investigative report.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Let me explay something to you. Even the NFL, with
- 27:27Speaker 1: all the players they got, they have conduct clauses. What's
- 27:31Speaker 1: gonna happen to Deshaun Washington is simply because of the accusations,
- 27:35Speaker 1: they're gonna suspend. Hell, they'll suspend you for the behavior
- 27:39Speaker 1: now for your talking about. I want to be an
- 27:46Speaker 1: ambassador of that kind of love and care and concern.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to
- 27:52Speaker 1: apologize to all of my fellow nominees. Yo, Dog Dog Rock,
- 27:59Speaker 1: that's you should have apologized. I don't think Will Smith
- 28:04Speaker 1: understands the ramifications of all of this. He will forever
- 28:08Speaker 1: be remembered for this moment right here. Yeah, it's going
- 28:12Speaker 1: to turnish him in a lot of ways. Um, And
- 28:15Speaker 1: it's sad because the dude's career is stella. You know,
- 28:19Speaker 1: they can't take that big Willie about his acting. He's
- 28:23Speaker 1: a bad boy. Can't take nothing from him from his men,
- 28:25Speaker 1: And I get it. But like Tommy said, this is
- 28:28Speaker 1: all build up from all this public scrutiny they've been under.
- 28:32Speaker 1: But they was more on a red table talking about it. Yes,
- 28:38Speaker 1: we didn't know about the entanglement. How do we know?
- 28:41Speaker 1: I don't know, august Alsina, how do we know this?
- 28:45Speaker 1: You are the wrong person? Right right? But see now
- 28:52Speaker 1: he didn't get slapped. Yeah that's all. I'm all right, Yeah,
- 28:58Speaker 1: all right? Are we talking about this more about I
- 29:04Speaker 1: think I are coming up at the top of the hour.
- 29:07Speaker 1: We'll talk more about this incident at the Oscars last night.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to the Steven Show. All right,
- 29:16Speaker 1: So Steve in a nutshell last night at the ninety
- 29:20Speaker 1: fourth Annual Academy Awards, produced by Will Packer and his
- 29:25Speaker 1: partner Shayla Cohen. It was one of the most iconic
- 29:29Speaker 1: moments in history. We all saw it. We saw Chris
- 29:32Speaker 1: Rock walk on stage do jokes about acknowledging the mostly
- 29:36Speaker 1: masked free audience before making a reference to Jada Pinkett
- 29:39Speaker 1: Smith and saying I love you Jada, I can't wait
- 29:43Speaker 1: to see g I Jane too. Take a listen, Jada,
- 29:47Speaker 1: I love you g I Jane two. Can't wait to
- 29:50Speaker 1: see it. All right, that was that was a nice one.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Okay about here, oh Richard, Oh and yeah it happened then, yeah,
- 30:09Speaker 1: oh wow wow. Will Smith just smacked it out of me.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Name wow, dude, Yeah, it was a g I Jane
- 30:26Speaker 1: Joe my name. I'm going to okay, I can oh, okay,
- 30:39Speaker 1: that was greatest night in the history of television. But
- 30:45Speaker 1: see nothing I see to see. The moment for it
- 30:50Speaker 1: was what you're calling the most iconic moment should have
- 30:54Speaker 1: been the fact that we had a black producer for
- 30:58Speaker 1: The Great Kid and a black female assistant producer of
- 31:02Speaker 1: the Grammys, that Beyonce, for the first time in five years,
- 31:07Speaker 1: has come back to do an award show that black women,
- 31:14Speaker 1: two black women, and a third woman, Amy Schumer hosting
- 31:18Speaker 1: the Grammys. That there were I mean, I mean oscars,
- 31:22Speaker 1: That there were black people out on the red carpet.
- 31:27Speaker 1: See that that that Will Packer set up a night
- 31:35Speaker 1: that should be the iconic moment of this show. Now
- 31:38Speaker 1: we've lost all of that. We've lost all of that
- 31:43Speaker 1: Now see damn diversity. Some black people was allowed for
- 31:47Speaker 1: the first season to participate in a way that we've
- 31:50Speaker 1: never participated for diversity. That's some damn black people finally
- 31:56Speaker 1: getting to participate in the biggest a ward show of
- 32:00Speaker 1: the night. Now for it to be marred with this,
- 32:05Speaker 1: that's the mistake and the thing of it is Will Smith. No,
- 32:10Speaker 1: he know, he knows the moment, He knows the grander
- 32:15Speaker 1: of moments. He has been there before. This dude is
- 32:20Speaker 1: holly Wood. Will Smith ain't ain't no he no rapper,
- 32:25Speaker 1: he from the grid. Will Smith is Holly Wood. Why Hollywood,
- 32:33Speaker 1: why do we always destroy us? Why do we can't
- 32:37Speaker 1: have nothing? We do that to ourselves. Many we can't
- 32:42Speaker 1: blame the white man for this, can't blame the man nothing.
- 32:46Speaker 1: This is us. We do this to us. Yeah, it was,
- 32:50Speaker 1: it was. See here's a sad part. Here's the sad part.
- 32:57Speaker 1: We are the only race that's responsible for the actions
- 33:03Speaker 1: of one another. See. We shouldn't even have to say
- 33:08Speaker 1: why do we do this to us? Because what that
- 33:12Speaker 1: does is that keeps them doing it to us, because
- 33:16Speaker 1: now we do it to ourselves. See, we we've got
- 33:20Speaker 1: to understand what's really at play here the moment. Yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 1: big Willie is smart enough to know what this moment is. Now,
- 33:30Speaker 1: that's got what you trying to say about God got
- 33:34Speaker 1: me defending you know, my family. Oh dog, but just
- 33:38Speaker 1: ain't just what necessary? See, don't put God in it
- 33:42Speaker 1: and then walk up there and do something on God anyway.
- 33:47Speaker 1: It's not it's not. It's not he's not a gangster.
- 33:53Speaker 1: That's not what you do, Will, It's not what you do.
- 33:57Speaker 1: I think, Kanye think this was stupid. Know what I'm saying.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I think And yeah, that's pretty bad. Yeah, that's saying
- 34:04Speaker 1: a lot right there. Well, well let me ask you, Tommy.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Do you think it was stupid? This was outstandingly ignorant
- 34:13Speaker 1: right here right here he tried to get fancy with
- 34:16Speaker 1: the residential the residential expert. Yeah, yeah, yeah, this was
- 34:22Speaker 1: disrespectful man. Yeah, Steve, I want to go back to
- 34:24Speaker 1: what you were saying. You were saying, Will knows Hollywood. Will,
- 34:28Speaker 1: it's Hollywood. Will is an international star. To me, isn't
- 34:32Speaker 1: that all the more reason for him not to do this,
- 34:36Speaker 1: for him not to mess up a moment? Surely that
- 34:39Speaker 1: was the exact reason why he shouldn't have done it.
- 34:42Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Then at the same time, this
- 34:46Speaker 1: was the reason he did it. He knew he could
- 34:51Speaker 1: walk up here, slap this man and turn around and
- 34:55Speaker 1: walk off and what nothing gonna happen. Look, man, we
- 34:59Speaker 1: all from down the way, you know how this really go.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You walk up and slap a black dude. No matter
- 35:06Speaker 1: what happened he got there got to be something for that.
- 35:09Speaker 1: We all knew that. But the enormity of the moment,
- 35:12Speaker 1: which was the mistake he made. And like Denzel told him,
- 35:16Speaker 1: in your highest moments, it's when the devil come for you.
- 35:21Speaker 1: So now you can't put this off on God talking
- 35:24Speaker 1: on God has called me. God didn't send you up there.
- 35:28Speaker 1: You never do that. Bishop Kenneth Oma taught me one thing,
- 35:32Speaker 1: God's voice has no sin in it. So when you
- 35:36Speaker 1: say God called me to do something, and then you
- 35:40Speaker 1: walk up there, man, no dog dog dog, Come on, man,
- 35:43Speaker 1: slow down, apologize to Chris. Will you apologize to me?
- 35:49Speaker 1: But I'm gonna slap you back though, Yeah, yeah, I
- 35:52Speaker 1: love I love Amy. Okay, all right, we'll have more
- 35:57Speaker 1: about the oscars right after this. You're list sew all right,
- 36:03Speaker 1: we've been talking about it again all morning. I mean,
- 36:05Speaker 1: how could we not. It was such an iconic moment
- 36:08Speaker 1: last night at the Oscars when Will Smith walked up
- 36:10Speaker 1: on stage and slapped Chris Rock for a joke Chris
- 36:13Speaker 1: Rock made about Jada Pinkett Smith being in g I
- 36:18Speaker 1: Jane Too, the movie Jada I Love You Can't Wait
- 36:21Speaker 1: for g I Jane Too? Is what Chris Rock said?
- 36:24Speaker 1: That was? It was it? Yeah, and enough, you know,
- 36:29Speaker 1: we still wouldn't know who wore this documentary. And you know,
- 36:34Speaker 1: I'm so just. I really thought it was a joke.
- 36:39Speaker 1: I really thought it was a skit we all did
- 36:42Speaker 1: in the beginning. Yeah, I just could not believe that
- 36:45Speaker 1: Will Smith did that. I could on live TV. I
- 36:49Speaker 1: could not believe that that he did it. And active
- 36:53Speaker 1: matter is the class we thought we all had. I
- 36:59Speaker 1: still say Chris Rock is a g He was a professional.
- 37:03Speaker 1: He handled the moment, stayed on stage, did the Oscar winner,
- 37:08Speaker 1: presented the Oscar to uh the roots. It was for
- 37:13Speaker 1: summer soul. He was a soul. Yeah, let me tell
- 37:16Speaker 1: you something. Chris rockslove man to me. You know what?
- 37:20Speaker 1: And speaking of Chris Rock, you know he's going on
- 37:22Speaker 1: tour with Kevin Hart. I wonder if he'll put this
- 37:25Speaker 1: incident right. If everybody hates about it, you think write
- 37:33Speaker 1: about it, let me explain something to you. Yeah, he
- 37:37Speaker 1: will respect and not mentioned Jada because that's not what
- 37:40Speaker 1: the joke was about anyway. But Will Smith, don't he
- 37:44Speaker 1: can buggle out. There's gonna be some brilliant, brilliantly funny
- 37:48Speaker 1: stuff coming out of this. Yeah, you know, I'm just
- 37:51Speaker 1: sort of really sort of torn with this whole thing. Man.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I'm just so I'm not like really disappointed in Will
- 37:58Speaker 1: because I don't really know him like that. I just
- 38:00Speaker 1: know of him like that. But the part that I
- 38:03Speaker 1: hate the most of it is he did it in
- 38:07Speaker 1: a way where he knew he could get away with it.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I'm telling y'all, man, So that's come on, man, he
- 38:15Speaker 1: walk nobody else, slapp nobody else. We're like that, dude, Man,
- 38:18Speaker 1: you ain't been slapping. Damn. That's a damn moment. Don't
- 38:22Speaker 1: You don't have any reason to slap somebody now, but
- 38:28Speaker 1: a violent moment. I don't know. It's not making any
- 38:31Speaker 1: sense to me with it. Man. Oh and by the way,
- 38:35Speaker 1: um Steve the LAPD released a statement about the assault,
- 38:39Speaker 1: and as of now, Chris Rock has not pressed any charges. No,
- 38:43Speaker 1: Chris ain't gonna press charges because we guessed that dude. No, no,
- 38:48Speaker 1: that was assault. Yeah yeah, I'll tell you right now
- 38:52Speaker 1: though you heard that old you heard it. It ain't over.
- 38:55Speaker 1: But hold but let me tell you something. You don't
- 38:57Speaker 1: have to you know you don't. I don't have to
- 39:00Speaker 1: press charges. Yeah yeah yeah, oh in a district attorney
- 39:05Speaker 1: can look at all right. We'll be back with more
- 39:09Speaker 1: of a Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up at thirty
- 39:11Speaker 1: four minutes after the hour. Right after this, you're listening
- 39:14Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Five. Recent surveys have
- 39:19Speaker 1: indicated strong support for President Joe Biden's decision to nominate
- 39:23Speaker 1: Judge Katanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court seat that
- 39:26Speaker 1: retired Justice Stephen Bryer is vacating. According to an average
- 39:31Speaker 1: of five polls, about fifty three percent of Americans supported
- 39:34Speaker 1: Jackson's confirmation, with about twenty six percent of Americans opposed.
- 39:39Speaker 1: If Jackson's ratings hold up through her likely confirmation, she
- 39:43Speaker 1: would be the most popular nominee to be confirmed since
- 39:47Speaker 1: John Roberts into five. So here's what's next for Judge
- 39:51Speaker 1: Katanji Brown Jackson. Democrats hope to consider Jackson's nomination as
- 39:56Speaker 1: soon as today, March twenty eighth, but object from any
- 40:00Speaker 1: one committee member could lead to a nomination being held
- 40:03Speaker 1: over for a week. And it's a safe bet there
- 40:06Speaker 1: will be Republican objections. Okay, Jackson's nomination will head next
- 40:11Speaker 1: to a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee that slated
- 40:15Speaker 1: to take place on Monday, April fourth, and she could
- 40:18Speaker 1: be confirmed as early as April eighth. And that's what
- 40:22Speaker 1: we want to hear. That is good news. Yes, yes, yes,
- 40:28Speaker 1: class act she is and she truly smart, smart, smart, brilliant.
- 40:34Speaker 1: You get in there that we got to want her
- 40:35Speaker 1: back class. You know, he ain't good round black women
- 40:38Speaker 1: don't know its class sick? Or is he hiding? What
- 40:41Speaker 1: do you think? Well? I think he's out of hockeys
- 40:43Speaker 1: out now? Yeah, yeah, I think not she case. Yeah,
- 40:53Speaker 1: women ain't afraid of nothing, nothing and nothing. Don't think
- 40:57Speaker 1: you do? Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure knew? Yeah, come on,
- 41:03Speaker 1: what do you say, Steve, even if he didn't know,
- 41:05Speaker 1: what are he gonna do? Exactly? You're saying he should
- 41:10Speaker 1: resign or being well, see you know where she holding that.
- 41:14Speaker 1: You've seen that family picture where they got the doll.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I haven't seen that. What about it? You ain't seen
- 41:20Speaker 1: that picture? The dog is closer than he is. He
- 41:27Speaker 1: looked real secondary to that dog. Oh that ain't a
- 41:34Speaker 1: good sign. Class. Well, at least he's out of the hospital.
- 41:39Speaker 1: He had an infection or whatever. At least he's out. Yeah.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I don't want nobody. I don't wish no bad on nobody. Physically,
- 41:45Speaker 1: I don't. I don't mean. You know right, if your
- 41:48Speaker 1: wife got something to do with this insurrection, yes, she
- 41:52Speaker 1: needs to do her time. Yes, yeah, you had something
- 41:56Speaker 1: like everyone else, treason and all that. Can't control that
- 42:01Speaker 1: white woman? Why no control? What did she climbed that wall?
- 42:13Speaker 1: Because she climbed that wall. She went to the rally. Yeah,
- 42:20Speaker 1: did she left? Yeah, she said she left because it
- 42:23Speaker 1: was cold, which is a lie. She left because she
- 42:27Speaker 1: got caught store. She wants to check her trap, make
- 42:35Speaker 1: sure everything was in place. Then she laughed. Yeah, she
- 42:39Speaker 1: gave us. He gave her speech. We want you on

- 42:57Speaker 1: just sporting and Judge Katanji Brown Jackson right now, you know,
- 43:04Speaker 1: looking for them and making know what about her. I
- 43:07Speaker 1: was listening to these whole things that they're doing. She's
- 43:12Speaker 1: more qualified and in over half the judges that are
- 43:17Speaker 1: in the position, and she's more qualified than the people
- 43:21Speaker 1: that are questioning her. Exactly right, exactly the Poe Dunk
- 43:27Speaker 1: senators that's questioning her. They can't hold a candle to
- 43:31Speaker 1: this woman. No what they talking to her angry about?
- 43:36Speaker 1: Oh that fool. And then Ted Crews holding up the
- 43:39Speaker 1: little book. Are you saying by this book that children
- 43:41Speaker 1: are racist? Yes, if your funky mammy and daddy is
- 43:46Speaker 1: racist and have taught you the end word, and you
- 43:49Speaker 1: in junior in elementary school, you're damn right, your baby racist, mister,
- 43:56Speaker 1: youlling roll the fool, your oldest racist. We got to
- 44:01Speaker 1: stop you from using mammy though, We're gonna have to

- 45:11Speaker 1: you think it's damn. I mean, I'm just you know,
- 45:13Speaker 1: I'm a little depressed because I don't feel stupid today.
- 45:15Speaker 1: I'm going through it. It happens. Trust who you are.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Let me just say this to you, Tom answer. Confidence
- 45:23Speaker 1: building you've never missed. Yeah, I think I thank you
- 45:29Speaker 1: actual absolute stupidest. When you don't thank you all man,
- 45:36Speaker 1: that's a boost that right there been the most alarming
- 45:40Speaker 1: part to me. Right, thank you? Right there? See how

- 45:59Speaker 1: I mean I have I just feel like this morning,
- 46:01Speaker 1: I have not seen nothing stupid that really has registered.
- 46:04Speaker 1: You know what I haven't. I haven't said are you
- 46:07Speaker 1: listening to play Devil's Advocate? You haven't said anything like

- 47:37Speaker 1: my brothers All right, let's see if I can be stupid.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. Something I need to take care.
- 47:46Speaker 1: I talked to man, I speak to Terry. My name
- 47:49Speaker 1: is Daryl. Damon is my brother. I don't live in
- 47:51Speaker 1: Dallas where y'all live. That I'm the one that lived
- 47:54Speaker 1: out of town. But we didn't have a family meeting
- 47:56Speaker 1: and talked about it. And uh, I know Travis your son,
- 48:00Speaker 1: he eight years old. But the problem is the reason
- 48:03Speaker 1: why I'm calling you TI is called. We didn't found
- 48:07Speaker 1: out that Travis ain't none of damons child. Excuse me,
- 48:12Speaker 1: Travis ain't none of Damon child. He'd been paying you
- 48:15Speaker 1: child support here for the last eight hold on, and
- 48:17Speaker 1: you said your name was who I'm dare, I'm Damon brother,
- 48:21Speaker 1: and who gave you this information? We all have found
- 48:24Speaker 1: the information out. We actually gonna go down there to
- 48:26Speaker 1: the courthouse and get all this stuff rectified. But we
- 48:28Speaker 1: didn't found out that Travis ain't ain't none of Damon's child.
- 48:32Speaker 1: And he's been sitting up here sending you money seven
- 48:35Speaker 1: to eight hundred dollars a month and this child ain't
- 48:37Speaker 1: even here. Now, I hate for Travis to find this out,
- 48:40Speaker 1: and he gonna have to find it out, but he
- 48:42Speaker 1: ain't got the fid Why are you calling me? Look,
- 48:46Speaker 1: the family didn't had a meeting, and I'm the one
- 48:48Speaker 1: that they decided to make the phone call and tell
- 48:50Speaker 1: you what's going on now. You you you don't have
- 48:53Speaker 1: a damn thing to do with this. You You ain't
- 48:55Speaker 1: nobody daddy over here, So I'm not sure what you're
- 48:58Speaker 1: calling for. Who God made you? Key wanted you to
- 49:01Speaker 1: be head in charge to call but that it's not
- 49:03Speaker 1: gonna work out. But let me why why are you
- 49:06Speaker 1: doing this to my brother? That's what I'm saying. For
- 49:08Speaker 1: eight years, the man been sitting you seven hundred seven
- 49:10Speaker 1: dollars a month and and this ain't even his child.
- 49:14Speaker 1: You know, why why am I even talking to you?
- 49:18Speaker 1: I'm not really sure. Your brother need to call me
- 49:20Speaker 1: if he has any problems with questions you have a
- 49:22Speaker 1: good day. Hello, you don't hang no damn phone up
- 49:28Speaker 1: on me. Damon told me the last was hard headed anyway. Now, look,
- 49:33Speaker 1: you know what you got the wrong one, baby, Like
- 49:35Speaker 1: I'm trying to not lose all my religion today, but
- 49:38Speaker 1: you're about to make me lose it on your You
- 49:41Speaker 1: don't know who you over here. So, like I said before,
- 49:44Speaker 1: my fund your nephew that you're trying not to claim
- 49:47Speaker 1: over there. I don't know why you came from wherever
- 49:49Speaker 1: the hell you said you came from the dollars to
- 49:51Speaker 1: try to I came from California down here to Dallas,
- 49:54Speaker 1: and I'm telling you need to take your bath. I'm
- 49:56Speaker 1: back to California because down here, if you don't know
- 49:59Speaker 1: me like that, I don't know you, but I'm fend
- 50:01Speaker 1: to know you, and Travis fend to know that my
- 50:03Speaker 1: brother ain't his daddy. No, I don't know you know what.
- 50:07Speaker 1: You need to talk to your brother again. That's what
- 50:08Speaker 1: you need to do. And you don't need to be
- 50:09Speaker 1: talking to me. You've been to send us all the
- 50:11Speaker 1: money and my brother didn't sent y'all. I and when
- 50:17Speaker 1: I do, look and I said, when I sent all
- 50:19Speaker 1: that eight years worth of money back. You're gonna send
- 50:22Speaker 1: every dime back because it belonged to my brother. That
- 50:24Speaker 1: ain't my brother child. Now we ain't got time to
- 50:26Speaker 1: be going on on ma repover showing nothing to find
- 50:29Speaker 1: out who the daddy? You know what? Like I said,
- 50:31Speaker 1: you picked the wrong one. It'd be your best friend
- 50:34Speaker 1: not to call me anymore. You actually it is a
- 50:36Speaker 1: good thing that you call, because if you can't knocking
- 50:38Speaker 1: on my dog, you to got y'all with today? No
- 50:40Speaker 1: you go, that's my second thing I've been to do.
- 50:43Speaker 1: If we can't rectified over the fall, I don't have
- 50:45Speaker 1: a problem coming over there knocking down some dos and
- 50:47Speaker 1: getting some questions answered, because damn it, this ain't Damon's baby.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Obviously you must wish it was yours. So you're taking
- 50:53Speaker 1: so much entry. No it ain't mine, but but it
- 50:57Speaker 1: ain't game wins either, and we got to sell any
- 51:00Speaker 1: and looking for from But I'm sorry this was taken
- 51:03Speaker 1: over here and Damon, where we continue to play? When
- 51:05Speaker 1: you owe Damon, don't open that's what far with your
- 51:08Speaker 1: brother's Marie. I want to play. I'm sorry. He's gonna
- 51:11Speaker 1: continue to play and you can call wherever you want.
- 51:13Speaker 1: To come do whatever you want to do. So go
- 51:14Speaker 1: back and tell your mama and everybody else who's waiting
- 51:17Speaker 1: for this meeting to let them know it ain't having me. Look,
- 51:21Speaker 1: my mama ain't got nothing to do with it. Mama been.
- 51:23Speaker 1: What's your mamma? You said your mamma. Now, y'all got
- 51:25Speaker 1: to get us. She's the same way, like, I'll see
- 51:27Speaker 1: where you get it from. You're like, just like car,
- 51:29Speaker 1: Mama knows that, y'all from knows it. People mone y'all
- 51:33Speaker 1: damn business. That's a grown man. That ain't. My mama
- 51:35Speaker 1: said it from the get go that it wasn't hunt
- 51:37Speaker 1: that it wasn't. Damon chime no, that mean your mama's
- 51:40Speaker 1: two faced lock because you're ain't what your mama said.
- 51:42Speaker 1: You ain't been to sit here and bring my mama
- 51:44Speaker 1: up in this well. If you know so much, then
- 51:46Speaker 1: you breck. Come back on my belly. I'm not I'm
- 51:48Speaker 1: not there. If you want to. We didn't done the man.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Seven hundred and fifty dollars times twelve times eight is
- 51:55Speaker 1: seventy two thousand dollars. That's how much money. And my
- 51:59Speaker 1: brother didn't sent you, and that's how much we want back.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I need you to get to working on this money. Nah, okay,
- 52:06Speaker 1: why don't you come over here and get it? Don't
- 52:08Speaker 1: get your whoop today, Terry, come on over here. You
- 52:10Speaker 1: don't see you one thing. If you in Dallas when
- 52:14Speaker 1: I don't care nothing body but I'm in no Dallas.
- 52:16Speaker 1: You sain't canni for you. So I don't even know
- 52:19Speaker 1: what they don't. I'm I don't even go why away
- 52:21Speaker 1: from my time talking to you? Like I said, your
- 52:23Speaker 1: brother is a week if he got to call you,
- 52:26Speaker 1: y'all had him eating and you got to be the
- 52:28Speaker 1: one to call. I'm not really understanding. Look, I got
- 52:30Speaker 1: one more thing I need to say to you. As
- 52:32Speaker 1: you listening to me, you know you know my damn nerves.
- 52:35Speaker 1: That's what you're doing. You respect me? Are you listening
- 52:38Speaker 1: to me? What that's his nephew? Timing from the Steve
- 52:42Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. You just got prank. Oh, you just
- 52:49Speaker 1: got pranked by your sister telling your baby. She say
- 52:55Speaker 1: talk to her about her baby, daddy and that baby. Yeah,
- 52:59Speaker 1: I don't play sho Oh my god. I'm all right.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. What is the baddest I'm
- 53:06Speaker 1: talking about the baddest radio show in the land Steyning Show.
- 53:13Speaker 1: I feel my stupid coming back. Oh, feel my stupid.
- 53:22Speaker 1: It never last, it never left. All right, Thank you, nephew.

- 53:54Speaker 1: never know. It could be yours. Yeah, could be Buckle
- 53:58Speaker 1: up and hold on tight. We got it for you here.
- 54:00Speaker 1: It is Strawberry Letter, subject they Want Equal Treatment. Dear
- 54:05Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley. I'm in my late forties and my sister
- 54:08Speaker 1: in law is my best friend. My brother is cheating
- 54:11Speaker 1: on her and she found out from their six year
- 54:13Speaker 1: old son. I was keeping their son, and we went
- 54:16Speaker 1: to visit my mother, his grandmother, while my stupid brother
- 54:20Speaker 1: had his girlfriend over there having a fish fry in
- 54:23Speaker 1: the backyard. My mother was in the house mad as heck,
- 54:26Speaker 1: but my dad was outside with them because the woman
- 54:29Speaker 1: has a really nice body. My nephew didn't see the woman,
- 54:32Speaker 1: but my mother was so upset that she unleashed a
- 54:35Speaker 1: rant and the boy heard it from the other room.
- 54:38Speaker 1: He could not wait to tell his mom, and she
- 54:40Speaker 1: called me and lit into me about it. I told
- 54:44Speaker 1: her that I was clueless, and she didn't believe me.
- 54:47Speaker 1: My brother blames me for bringing his son over to
- 54:50Speaker 1: our parents' home. My brother ended up moving in with
- 54:53Speaker 1: my parents temporarily and continued to date this side chick
- 54:57Speaker 1: even though he was trying to work things out with
- 55:00Speaker 1: his wife. I am stuck in the middle because he
- 55:02Speaker 1: has me counseling the side chick, begging her to be
- 55:05Speaker 1: patient while he figures out how to leave his wife.
- 55:08Speaker 1: He's not leaving his wife, and I want to tell
- 55:11Speaker 1: his side chick that, but that would be even messier
- 55:15Speaker 1: the side. The side chick wants equal treatment as his wife.
- 55:19Speaker 1: His wife wants it all if he wants to go
- 55:21Speaker 1: back home. She wants a new ring and a recommitment
- 55:25Speaker 1: ceremony with a big, fancy honeymoon. The side chick said,
- 55:29Speaker 1: if she's going to stay with him. She wants a
- 55:30Speaker 1: commitment ring and a big vacation to a romantic island
- 55:34Speaker 1: to prove he's all hers. I told him he's in
- 55:38Speaker 1: way too deep and he needs to get his affairs
- 55:41Speaker 1: in order. I've been living with this guilt for almost
- 55:44Speaker 1: a year. My therapist said I should come clean and
- 55:47Speaker 1: be honest with both women. Should I do this to
- 55:49Speaker 1: my brother? Okay? No, no, don't do this to your brother. Okay,
- 55:55Speaker 1: But you gotta look at what it's doing to you,
- 55:58Speaker 1: and way more importantly, you can't do this to yourself.
- 56:01Speaker 1: You just can't. You got to get out of the
- 56:03Speaker 1: middle of this. This is a mess, and this has
- 56:06Speaker 1: nothing to do with you. You're not cheating on anyone.
- 56:09Speaker 1: You innocently took your nephew to see his grandparents, and
- 56:12Speaker 1: now you're getting it from all sides. Your brother's mad
- 56:16Speaker 1: at you, your bestie's mad at you, and the side
- 56:18Speaker 1: chick even has something to say, and she shouldn't have
- 56:21Speaker 1: anything to say about any of this. It's amazing to me, though,
- 56:25Speaker 1: that a six year old, a six year old little
- 56:28Speaker 1: boy couldn't wait to tell his mom about the side chick.
- 56:33Speaker 1: I mean, he must be really advanced. Because when we
- 56:35Speaker 1: were kids, you know, we constantly heard the phrase stay
- 56:38Speaker 1: out of grown folks bid. But his mom probably put
- 56:42Speaker 1: him up to it. I don't know. Listen, you've got
- 56:45Speaker 1: to start blaming yourself in all of this and stop
- 56:49Speaker 1: letting your brother punk you, and his side chick and
- 56:52Speaker 1: his wife you're bestie, they're all using you. You got
- 56:55Speaker 1: to stand up for yourself. Tell them all to kiss
- 56:59Speaker 1: your behind. You can, you had a choice, kiss you're behind,
- 57:02Speaker 1: Tell them to work it out and tell them to
- 57:04Speaker 1: leave it, leave you out of it. You could tell
- 57:06Speaker 1: you could tell them one of those or all of those.
- 57:09Speaker 1: All it is is misplaced anger on the wife's part
- 57:13Speaker 1: and trying to place blame on the brother's part, and
- 57:15Speaker 1: trying to get something out of it on the side
- 57:18Speaker 1: chicks part. I mean, your brothers manage you, yet he's
- 57:20Speaker 1: the one cheating. Your best friend is manage you, although
- 57:23Speaker 1: it's her husband that's a fault here. I mean, I
- 57:26Speaker 1: think you should get you some business immediately, because clearly
- 57:29Speaker 1: you have none because you're in this. You got to
- 57:32Speaker 1: stop feeling guilty and thinking you cause this and get
- 57:35Speaker 1: on with your life. I mean, you've been going through
- 57:37Speaker 1: this for a whole year now feeling guilty. You're the
- 57:40Speaker 1: one that needs to get away. They need to all
- 57:42Speaker 1: pay for your trip, not them. They don't need to
- 57:46Speaker 1: go anywhere. And as far as your therapist goes, fire him,
- 57:50Speaker 1: which are the one that gave you this bad advice
- 57:52Speaker 1: about coming clean? Steve excellent response. I think what you
- 57:58Speaker 1: said is spot on. I agree one thousand percent with
- 58:03Speaker 1: everything you said. I can't really add nothing to this
- 58:07Speaker 1: except a very unique perspective because there's some lies being
- 58:13Speaker 1: told anyhether and that's where I come in. I love it. Now.
- 58:21Speaker 1: This woman that wrote the letters is writing because she's
- 58:25Speaker 1: stuck in the middle. Obviously, I'm in my late parties
- 58:29Speaker 1: and my sister in law is my best friend. Okay,
- 58:32Speaker 1: there you go. My brother's cheating on her, and she
- 58:35Speaker 1: found out from the six year old son. So the
- 58:39Speaker 1: aunt was keeping her nephew, which is a six year old,
- 58:44Speaker 1: went by to visit her mother with her nephew, which
- 58:50Speaker 1: is the mother's grandson. Your dumbass brother had his girlfriend
- 58:59Speaker 1: over his mom and daddy house, having a fish fry
- 59:03Speaker 1: in the backyard. My mother was in the house mad
- 59:08Speaker 1: as heck, as most women would be, but my dad
- 59:13Speaker 1: was outside with him because the woman had a really
- 59:15Speaker 1: nice body. I don't know if that's the reason. I
- 59:23Speaker 1: think the daddy was out there, because well, the daddy
- 59:27Speaker 1: was just being the daddy. See the problem in this
- 59:31Speaker 1: letter is now you say your nephew didn't see the woman,
- 59:35Speaker 1: but your mother was upset and was renting, and the
- 59:38Speaker 1: boy overheard in the other room and he couldn't wait
- 59:40Speaker 1: to go tell his mom, and she called me and
- 59:43Speaker 1: lit into you about it, and I told her you
- 59:45Speaker 1: was clueless, and she didn't believe me. Well, why would
- 59:49Speaker 1: you take the boy, the nephew over to your mother's
- 59:52Speaker 1: house if you knew your brother was over there with
- 59:55Speaker 1: another woman. There's no way you would have done that
- 59:59Speaker 1: because you're not. Aren't You wouldn't have done that to
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: the boy, but your dumb ass brother over there. You
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: know what the problem with your brother is, he got
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: too much support for his bs. That's what's wrong. And
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: when we come back, I'll explain it. All right. We'll
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: have part two of Steve's response coming up at twenty
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: three minutes after be our Thank you Steve, subject of
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter, they want equal treatment. We'll go back
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: into it right after this you're listening show, All right,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry letter and finish
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: up with your response. The subjects they want equal treatment. Yeah,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: you know, this is kind of crazy. This woman got
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: a brother that's cheating, and she was keeping the brothers
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: son who is her nephew. Her best friend is her
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: brother's wife, which is her sister in law. She go
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: over to the house. Her brother got a chick over
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: there having a fish fry in a mom and daddy backyard.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: That's ignorant to begin with. Now the mama in the
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: house madness. Heck, but you say your daddy was outside
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: with him because the woman got a really nice body.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: My nephew didn't see the woman, but your mama was
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: so upset she unleased the ranch. The little boy heard it.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: He couldn't wait to go back home and tell his mama.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Your girlfriend, who is your best friend, the sister in
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: law to your brother's brother's wife, who is your sister
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: law or your best friend lit into you because she
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: thought you was in on it. You told her you
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: was clueless, and she didn't believe me. I said before,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: why would you take the boy over to the house?
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: And expose your nephew to some guard. But you had
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: no idea he was over here, and you didn't take
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: the boy in the backyard. He just overheard the grandmother talking. So,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: now what didn't happen, because it is your brother ended
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: up moving in with your parents because he didn't got
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: put out, and he's continued to date the side chick
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: with the banging body, even though he trying to work
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: things out with his wife. Now you say you're stuck
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: in the middle because he got you counseling the side chick,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: begging her to be patient while he figured out how
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: to leave his wife. Then you say, he ain't leaving
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: his wife, and I want to tell the side chick that,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: but that would be even message. Your brother is the
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: one that's a fault in this whole thing, first of all,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: cheating on his wife. Second of all, he took the
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: side check to his parents' house, having a fish fry
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: in the backyard. Did daddy out there supporting the son,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: And now he got you counseling the side chick. The
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: best way to do people who bring bs to you
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: is let them lay in. They b s get out
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: of the support system business. You ain't don't ever help
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: nobody do wrong unless you are a man. Unless you're
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: a man, and this is your boy, it is our
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: obligation to help you try whatever. Man different rules if
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: because I got do it for you. Okay, now here
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: with okay, hold on, now, let me help you understand this.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: If your girl gets in trouble, you're gonna help her
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: because that's your colonel. Now, y'all don't ever talk about
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: that side of it. But y'all comes to each other's
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: rescue because I've heard it. Whatever I have to do
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: with the latter nothing, it's just don't get mad at
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: me when I tell you that the only way you're
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: supposed to get involved in this if y'all was boys,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: you should stay out of this because your best friend
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: is your sister in law. So you definitely shouldn't be
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: counseling the side and chick because your brother got everybody
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: involved in his BS. Now the side chick wants equal
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: treatment as the wife. Now listen to this. His wife
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: want it all If he wants to go back home,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: she want a new ring and a recommitment ceremony and
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: a big fancy honeymoon. That ain't just to show commitment.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: She just really wants some stuff. She just wants some stuff, really,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: because you're gonna take a man back and that No,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: this is some things. You're considering taking him back because
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: you want him back, but you want some things with it. Recommitment,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: bigger ring, fancy honeymoon. Yeah, but now here the problem
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: is the side chick said. If she gonna stay with him,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: she want a commitment ring, a big vacation to a
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: romantic alive, to prove that he's all hers. I told
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: him he ain't way too deep and to get his
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: infans in order. Let me explain to you what's wrong here.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Your brother is telling both women the same thing. That's
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: what's wrong, because if he was telling them the truth,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: both of them would might not be demanding the same thing.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: But he's telling both of them, I want to be
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: with you. Give me a minute to work this out.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Getting the divorce is difficult. Give me a minute. I'm
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: working this out. I gotta get this check out of
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: my life. She tripping, just what the nothing? This wasn't
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: even about her, right, baby? I want you because here
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: what brok can't do. He don't have the money for
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: an apartment. That's why he had had to move back
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: in with his mom and daddy. Ain't no where in
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: the hell. He got two rains and he damned him.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: Can't go on two vacations a romantic getaway. So as
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: soon as y'all quick supporting this b s, it's gonna
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: all come to a head. Now. You say you've been
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: living with this guilt for almost a year, that's because
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: he got too much help. Your therapist says I should
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: come clean and be honest with both women. Your therapist
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: is a woman, because the man would never say that.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Ain't no way. The only way a man would say
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: that if he wanted to sleep with you. Your sapist
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: is a woman. Yeah, fire them, and this ain't the
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: time for that. Ye all right? Steve hit us up
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: on Instagram at Steve Harvey FM. She's a woman. Stubberry Letter.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: You can also check out the Strawberry Letter podcast Done
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: to Man coming up next to the Sports Junior right
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show Time now
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: for Sports Talk with Junior. What you got Junior? Okay, Shirley,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: but let me just thank Jackson, Mississippi for coming out
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: to Chuckles and hanging out with your favorite play cousin
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Man Folk shows two Friday, two Saturday. Thank you, Chuckles Man. Listen,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: I know you oversee, but you don't even know this,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: but your board, Dan Sanders, Let's just go ahead give
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Prime some props. Many on Friday they had Jackson States
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Pro Day. Right. Prime set up there and called out
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: all the NFL teams who did not come to his
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: pro day. And I'm telling you, Prime is over here.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Fight for these HBCU athletes. Man, this is what he said.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: He said, there's thirty two teams in this Crayola box. Therefore,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: the Dolphins, the Broncos, the Texans, the Bills, the Buccaneers,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: the Ravens, the Panthers, and the Browns, the Vikings and
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: the Eagles. Where art thou You could at least showed
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: up a little bit? You could have said somebody. He said,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: I guarantee you're going to Mississippi State and you're going
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: to Old miss But I guarantee you we're gonna show
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: up there. I understand you saying that you have more talent,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: but guess what we're coming and when we arrived, you
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: better be here because our students deserve it. I'm proud
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: of Prime for that should have been we should have had,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: we should have had we should have been there, we
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: should have held we could have we could have got
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: his son. Though. For Baker Mayfield, I'm telling you, man,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: I'm just saying it's crazy because, Okay, we do know
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: HBCUs don't have all the facilities as a D one
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: school have, like like like Oklahoma Old Miss. We understand that.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: But these athletes they play over there too. There's some
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: talented casts that deserve It's from Jerry Rice, it's some.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: But I'm just talking to that I know for real.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: Doug Williams, Yeah, from an hbc U. Yeah. So there
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: are players men that are us and they just don't
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: get the looks because they look at them as if
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: they don't play against the same type of talent. And
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: that's just not fair. So I'm proud of Prime Man
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: for calling them out. I'm with Timmy man. The Texas
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: should have helped open up the facility. It's sorry. We
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: should have been We should have been in there. They
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: should have been at A Yeah, we need all level.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: We need to start. We need to start picking them
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: up at middle school because we don't have a quarterback.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: We ain't got a wide receiver. We don't know nobody
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: on our team. The famous person on the Texas is
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: the mascot, and that's a damn shame. The bull, the bull,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: the bull, the more favorite player. We got here trying
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: to get trade ye so man, shut out the danset Man.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: Thank you, pry ye Man, I see pry Yeah, all right, Junior,
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: thank you coming up at the top. Or we'll play
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: a round him comedy Roulette right after this. You're listening,
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: all right? So Steve in a nutshell. Last night at
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: the ninety fourth Annual Academy Awards, produced by Will Packer
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: and his partner Shayla Cohen, it was one of the
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: most iconic moments in history. We all saw it. We
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: saw Chris Rock walk on stage do jokes about acknowledging
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: the mostly mask free audience before making a reference to
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: Jada Pinkett Smith and saying I love you Jada. I
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: can't wait to see g I Jane too. Take a listen, Jada,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: I love you g I Jane two. Can't wait to
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: see it. All right? That was that was a nice one. Okay,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I'm out here, Oh Richard, Oh oh wow wow. Will
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Smith the smack out of Wow. Dude, it was a
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: gi Janee my wife name. I'm going to okay, I
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: can okay. That was greatest night in the history of television.
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: See see no, no, I'll see see to see the
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: moment for it was what you're calling the most iconic moment.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Should have been the fact that we had a black
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: producer for the Grammys and a black female sister producer
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: of the Grammys. That Beyonce, for the first time in
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: five years, has come back to do an award show.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: That that was black women, two black women, and a
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: third woman, Amy Schumer hosting the Grammys. That that was,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: I mean, I'm oscars. That there were black people out
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: on the red carpet. See that that that Will Packer
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: set up a night that should be the iconic moment
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: of this show. Now we've lost all of that. We've
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: lost all of that now see damn diversity. Some black
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: people was allowed for the first season to participate in
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: a way that we've never participated for that's some damn
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: black people finally getting to participate in the biggest award
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: show of the night. Now for it to be marred
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: with this, that's the mistake and the thing of it.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Is will Smith. Know, he know, he knows the moment,
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: He knows the grandeur of moments. He has been there before.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: This dude is Hollywood. Will Smith. Ain't ain't no he
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: no rapper, He from the grid. Will Smith is Holly Wood.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Why Holly okay? Why do we always destroy us? Why
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: do we can't have nothing? Time? We do that to ourselves?
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Many we can't blame the white man for this, can't
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: blame the white man nothing. This is us. We do
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: this to us. Yeah it was, it was. But see
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: here's a sad part. Here's the sad part. We are
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: the only race that's responsible for the actions of one another. See,
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: we shouldn't even have to say why do we do
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: this to us? Because what that does is that keeps
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: them doing it to us, because now we do it
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: to ourselves. See we we've got to understand what's really
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: at play here the moment. Yeah, big Willie is smart
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: enough to know what this moment is. Now that's got
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: what you're trying to say about God got me defending
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: you know, my family? Oh oh dog, but just just
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: what necessary sixty don't put God in it and then
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: walk up there and do something on good will it's
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: not a game anyway. It's not. It's not. It's not
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: apologize to Chris Will, I apologize to me, but I'm
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: gonna slap you back though. Yeah, I loved I loved
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Amy Schumer. Okay, all right, we'll have more about the
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Oscars right after this. You're listening to show. Last night
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: at the ninety fourth Annual Academy Awards, we saw Chris
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: Rock walk on stage do jokes about acknowledging the mostly
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: mask free audience before making a friends to Jada Pinkett
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Smith and saying I love you, Jada. I can't wait
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: to see g I Jane too. Steven. I want to
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: go back to where you were saying. You were saying,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Will knows Hollywood. Will it is Hollywood. Will is an
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: international star to me, Isn't that all the more reason
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: for him not to do this, for him not to
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: mess up a moment? Surely that was the exact reason
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: why he shouldn't have done it, That's what I'm saying.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Being at the same time, this was the reason he
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: did it. He knew he could walk up here, slap
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: this man and turn around and walk off and what
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: nothing gonna happen? Look, man, We all from down the
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: way know why this is really going You walk up
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: and slap a black dude. No matter what happened, he
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: got there got to be something for that. Will knew that.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: But the enormity of the moment, which was the mistake
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: he made, and like Denzel told him, in your highest moments,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: it's when the devil come for you. So now you
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: can't put this off on God talking about God has
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: called me. God didn't send you up there. You never
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: do that. Bishop Kenneth Oma taught me one thing, God's
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: voice has no sin in it. So when you say
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: God called me to do something and then you walk
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: up there, man, no dog dog dog. Come on, man,
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: all right, we'll have more right after this. You're listening
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: to show time now for a game of would you rather?
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Would you rather think about this one? Guys, would you
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: rather be a middle class white woman or a rich
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: black man? Black man? Be Yeah, he said, I just
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: want to stay me. I want to stay black. I
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: just want to stay me a rich black man. No,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: the membership has its privileges. Yeah, that's the point of
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: of the of the woods. You rather, Yeah, I ain't
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: got it. You didn't, Okay, would you rather be a
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: middle class white woman, a middle class white woman, or
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: a rich black man, which you already are middle class
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: white woman or rich black man. Why the heir would
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: I want to do privilege anything, say anything they get
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: to do. Okay, I'd be a rich black man and
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: just say it anyway and just suffer the consequence anyway. Yeah,
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: you're gonna stay you, You just stay you, all right.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Would you rather eat free at Chili for one year
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: or no eating out for a whole year? Free at
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Chili's for one year or no eating out for a year? Yeah,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: I'm eating I'm not. I'm not gonna be Chili for
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: a year. I'm gonna die at that point. I had
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: a lot of experience with that. Two for twenty. I'm
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: going with Chili. I've had a lot of days at
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: this place, Fried Steak, got it all right, Stephen Jake
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: Sizling Plate. Yeah, but I haven't been to Chilies enough
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: times in my life even know so, I mean I
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: haven't been to Chilies. Yeah. So you're gonna as much
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: as you love having dinner out, so you're gonna stay
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: in for a year no eating out. So the choices
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: to eat out only at chilis for a year, or
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: stay in and eat for a year. Yeah, no, I'm
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: gonna stay. You're not any pictures. I'm gonna have to
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: take your chilis about the food. It ain't but two
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: chilis and you Steve coming to night every night. You
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: know where Stevie. Alright, one last one, Let's see if
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: we can get to this one. Tell your mate how
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: you really feel? Would you rather tell your mate how
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: you really feel? Or cry? Or cry when she's mad
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: at you? Still be hell? I could say what I
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: really feel because if I do, she gonna be cry,
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: both of us being all right? Coming up? Thank you guys.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: That was would you rather for today? Coming up? It
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: is our last break of the day and we'll be back.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Oh yes, and we'll have some closing remarks from the
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey right after this. You're listening
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: to stow all right? Here we are, guys, on this
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: last break of the day, on this Monday. We've been
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: talking about it again all morning. I mean, how could
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: we not. It was such an iconic moment last night
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: at the Oscars when Will Smith walked up on stage
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: and slapped Chris Rock for a joke Chris Rock made
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: about Jada Pinkett Smith being in g I Jane Too
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: the movie. That's it. Yeah, and enough. I'm just sort
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: of really sort of torn with this whole thing. Man.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: I'm just so I'm not like really disappointed in we
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: all because I don't really know him like that. I
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: just know of him like that. But the part that
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: I hate the most of it is he did it
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: in a way where he knew he could get away
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: with it. I'm telling y'all, man, So that's why, come on, man,
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: he walk nobody else slapped nobody else. Well, ain't that dude? Man,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: you ain't been slapping. Damn, that's a day momentum. You
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: don't had plenty reason to slap somebody. Now. Yeah, I'm closing.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: You know, I wanted to talk about being motivational and
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: becoming motivated. You know, I spend a lot of time
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: I search Instagram for motivational things to capture my attention.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: Of course, you gotta you gotta, you gotta weed through
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: them some of the garbage that's on there. But I
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: spend most of my time looking for motivational stuff. And
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: I'm online YouTube looking up motivational speakers and stuff. Because
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: I enjoy hearing other people's takes. My two favorite, two
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: of my favorite people, it's Bishop td Jake's and Joel Oldstein.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: Those are two of my favorites. But I'm gonna tell
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: you something on that. When I look online and I'm
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: scrolling through Instagram, you know who really really strikes me.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: It's two people. It's a man and a woman, Coach Stormy.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Coach Stormy. I see her on Instagram a lot, and
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: she's a former dancer who has turned her life completely
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: around and really really gotten into the motivational thing and
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: has really helped a lot of people. She does it
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: in a flashy kind of the way, you know what
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: I mean, And I would imagine it's not everybody's cup
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: of tea. But I wanted to take a moment man,
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: to just say to that system that she's really given
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: it a shot. Man. And when you hear her story
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: and where she comes from, see, you have to understand
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: a person's journey to even understand their story. And because
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: their story is not similar to the story you hear
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: from other people is because the journey to where they
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: got to is not that of other people. And a
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: lot of people may not I may not be some
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: people's cup of tea. She may not be your cup
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: of tea, but she's affecting some lives out there, And
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: I just wanted to say that I recognize that. You know,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: whether you think of Great as a person or not,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: that's your thing. It's like this, I've learned a lot
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: from former inmates, but people get hung up on the
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: fact that they were an inmate. So Steve, how you listening? Well,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: because I'm looking at somebody who overcame. I'm looking at
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: somebody who found a way to turn their life around
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: and get it right, you know what I mean. And
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: once again, maybe not your cup of tea. But I
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: don't really look at stuff like that because I've learned
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: in my life not to judge people, because why are
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: you judging and everything? Remember, you got a story too,
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: and you got a history in a past that everybody
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: don't know about. Now, just because everybody don't know your
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: history or your past don't mean you ain't got warm.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: So why are you snubbed and turning your nose up
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: at somebody's story. Hey, Hey, suppose we knew your whole story.
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: Suppose we knew the truth about you. So I'm Okay,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: when people expose themselves and become transparent and tell you
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: the way they got them where they are, I'm okay
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: with that. But I just wanted to say that about
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: that sister, man. I think she's effective. I think she's
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: helping a lot of people with her story. Now you
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: know she ain't Oprah. I got that. But then let
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: me ask you a question. Who is she? Ain't Tyler?
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: But who is she? Ain't Michelle Obama? But who is she?
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: One of a kind, just like those people are one
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: of a kind. Also, I want to take my hat
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: off to Eric Thomas. Man, Eric Thomas, the hip hop preacher.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: That boy right down, man, I'm telling you, man, when
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: I really want to find something, I don't know nobody
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: that's more passionate about being a motivational speaker than Eric Thomas.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: I ain't. Ain't let me tell you something, man. I
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: listened to everybody. I listened to John Maxwell, I've listened
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: to Tony Robbins, I've listening. I've listened to a lot
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: of speakers, man, I have yet to see the orator
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: that Eric Thomas is. He's passionate. I was reading the
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: commas one time, this lady I could tell who she was.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: Why is he so angry? That ain't angry, that's passion
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: How can you do that? I get accused of that sometimes,
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: mister Harvey, Why are you so angry? I ain't angry.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: I'm passionate, but I ain't that dude. As a motivational speaker,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: Eric Thomas, that dude right there is on point. And
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: I'm saying that to you to say this, instead of
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: spending your time going down to see what's on TMZ,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: take half of that time and start putting it into
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: motivational speakers and just hearing what people's theories are. I've
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: learned a lot from people, man, by just hearing their
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: little thoughts. I get thoughts starters from people all the time.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: So take yourself off a TMZ and take yourself off
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: a TikTok trying to get a laugh, and try to
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: pour something into yourself. A lot of these motivational speakers
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: I find many of them coming from straight from biblical principles,
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: which are all most positive motivational speeches are spiritually based.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: But that's just a suggestion to you man, just try,
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: you know, at the beginning of the week, instead of
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: looking so much at TikTok and TMZ and watching TV.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: Take some time to pour something into yourself from some
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: of these motivational speakers that can probably just get some
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: some of your thoughts started for you. That's all I
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: wanted to say to you today. And once again, like
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: I always say, if you didn't like that close and remark,
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: just join us tomorrow. Maybe you'll like that one. Okay.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: And once again, as always, y'all talk to God. He'd
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: love to hear from you today. For all Steve Every Contests,
