- 0:00The states will determine by vote or legislation, or perhaps
- 0:03both, and whatever they decide must be the law of the land, in
- 0:07this case the law of the state. He starts by saying Roe V Wade
- 0:11is overruled. Now it's up to the will of the
- 0:13people. It's up to the states, and
- 0:15that's where it should be. And this is the fatal flaw.
- 0:17It's not the pro-life position to say let California go its way
- 0:21and let Texas go its way. That's not the position of
- 0:24justice. That's not a position that
- 0:26respects human rights. Hello everybody.
- 0:32Hey guys, Welcome back to the Lila Rose Podcast.

- 0:59We're also going to be talking about the new declaration from
- 1:02the Vatican on the infinite dignity of human life, which is
- 1:06true. The human human life has
- 1:08infinite dignity, were made in God's image.
- 1:09Some beautiful words coming from the Vatican that condemn
- 1:12ultimately surrogacy, abortion, IVF and euthanasia.

- 2:29and it makes a big difference. So President Trump came out this
- 2:32morning, posted on Not on X because he's still not back on
- 2:36X. He was on truth social with his
- 2:39very formal statement on abortion.
- 2:40We're going to be listening to that 4 minute statement from
- 2:44President Trump and I will be giving my response to it.
- 2:47In addition, we're going to talk about the declaration from the
- 2:50Vatican, which is very strong words but beautiful words about
- 2:54the dignity of human life. The infinite dignity of human
- 2:57life. First of all, just got to thank

- 4:15month. OK, let's go to President Trump
- 4:19and his recent statements. Now I want to take a step back
- 4:24and provide some context here, folks listening, you're very
- 4:29educated on this already. I know you follow politics.
- 4:31You've been tracking President Trump was our president for four
- 4:33years. He's now obviously the
- 4:35Republican nominee and he is been for the pro-life movement,
- 4:40very instrumental because he was the one who appointed pro-life
- 4:44judges, at least judges that are originalist, so they understand
- 4:50the value of our constitution, who ultimately were the ones to
- 4:54overturn Roe V Wade in Dobbs V Jackson.
- 4:58This happened almost two years ago and it was a huge movement,
- 5:02a huge moment for the pro-life movement, and it's something
- 5:05that basically removed the shackles from the pro-life
- 5:09movement to do work in this country to actually ban
- 5:12abortions at the state level. So that became possible.
- 5:15There are opportunities that were open to the movement that
- 5:18were not available to the movement before.
- 5:20So it was a huge step forward because before Roe V Wade
- 5:23ultimately declared that you could not prohibit abortions
- 5:27after a certain time or for certain reasons, even if you
- 5:30were the most pro-life state in America, you had to permit the
- 5:32killing of preborn children. And after Roe V Wade was
- 5:35overruled, many states went into the trigger laws, went into a
- 5:39fact that ultimately banned abortion.
- 5:41So you have some abortion free states which is an incredible
- 5:46step forward. Now the challenge here though is
- 5:49when Roe V Wade was overruled, what the justices didn't do was
- 5:54assert the equal right to life of every pre born child that
- 5:59exists not just at the state or community level, but at the
- 6:02federal level, that every human being has the same fundamental
- 6:06human rights. And the first of that first of
- 6:08those rights is life. The Justices did not declare
- 6:11that this is the fact in the in their ruling, there was some
- 6:16additional thoughts from some of the justices that indicated that
- 6:19yes, they do think equal protection should be given to
- 6:22all preborn children. But that wasn't the beef, the
- 6:24main meat of the ruling. That's unfortunate.
- 6:27That was a missed opportunity and we should be clear about
- 6:30that. Even in the pro-life movement
- 6:31that, well, overturning Roe V Wade was a huge step forward.
- 6:34They did not declare the equal status of the preborn child to
- 6:37the born child. Science reason shows us that
- 6:41this is a human life just like the born child.
- 6:44Life doesn't begin at birth. Life begins at fertilization.
- 6:47The science is clear on this. When a unique single cell human
- 6:50embryo comes into existence with its own genetic code, all it
- 6:53needs is time and nourishment to grow.
- 6:56So already in our Constitution we have the 14th Amendment,
- 7:00which declares that all people should have equal protection
- 7:04under the law and that no state has the right to deprive anyone
- 7:08of life without due process. Of course, there's no due
- 7:12process for the preborn child in a state like California where
- 7:15there it's legal to kill a baby through all nine months of
- 7:18pregnancy. So I say this everyone, because
- 7:22it's really important that we recognize where we are at with
- 7:27our current pro-life landscape and abortion, pro abortion
- 7:30landscape with the fight that's ongoing.
- 7:33Overturning Roe V Wade was a win, a tremendous win that saved
- 7:39some studies say 50,000 lives within the first year from
- 7:43abortion. Huge win, incalculable.
- 7:45Win 50,000 lives, almost 50,000 lives saved from abortion
- 7:50because these trigger laws went into effect.
- 7:52Banning abortion in over 10 states.
- 7:54Amazing progress. Amazing progress.
- 7:56Every single one of those lives, precious made in God's image,
- 8:00deserves to live. But the end game.
- 8:03The end game is complete legal protection for the preborn
- 8:06child. We can't tolerate this ongoing
- 8:09status quo of some abortions except some abortions.
- 8:13Imagine if we had done that during the time of slavery and
- 8:17we had said, OK, we're going to, in the North, free the slaves or
- 8:21not. Permit, abort, not permit
- 8:23slavery. But in the South, it's OK.
- 8:25Let the states in the South decide the will of the people.
- 8:28Let the will of the people decide.
- 8:29In the South, let them choose, let them vote and have slavery
- 8:34if they want it. Let them follow their hearts.
- 8:36And if they think it's OK to have a slave, they can have a
- 8:39slave. Let them let them do it.
- 8:41Let them do it. In fact, if you go back in time
- 8:44and look at the 19th century and slavery in America, there were
- 8:46even some good Christians, Christians, people who were OK
- 8:50with slavery thought it was OK in the South.
- 8:52It was an institution they could tolerate, maybe treat the slave
- 8:55well. But you can enslave other
- 8:56people. It's OK.
- 8:58America was deeply divided by the issue of slavery, deeply
- 9:02divided by the issue of slavery. And imagine if the politicians
- 9:06of the North imagine if the abolitionist.
- 9:07Imagine if Abraham Lincoln had said America will always be
- 9:10divided, and it's the way that it is.
- 9:12Let's have the compromise of let the South be the South and the
- 9:15North be the North. But no, a house divided cannot
- 9:20stand. And the house that is this
- 9:22American country that we love so much cannot stand.
- 9:27If we continue to play this game of let some states decide that
- 9:31children may live or die while other states protect their
- 9:34fundamental right to live. We have to choose what kind of
- 9:38country will we be. Will we be a country that
- 9:41tolerates the shedding of innocent blood and allows the
- 9:44stronger the adults, the powerful, to vote, that the
- 9:48weakest members among us are children in the womb, don't have
- 9:51the legal status, don't have the right to live, and therefore can
- 9:54be killed at the will of their mother or their doctor?
- 9:58Is that the kind of country that we want to be?
- 10:00And I say adamantly, no, no, we cannot be that country.
- 10:05That is not a country based on justice or human rights.
- 10:08That is a country that is based on injustice at its core.
- 10:12We must do better. We can do better.
- 10:14We've done better in the past. We've made mistakes as a
- 10:16country, and we have set those mistakes right.
- 10:21We've set those mistakes right when we have stood up and spoken
- 10:24the truth unapologetically, that all people are created equal in
- 10:29the image of God and all have the same human rights.
- 10:32The 1st is life and liberty, the pursuit of happiness.
- 10:35Life comes first. We must stand by our principle
- 10:38here. We cannot compromise on the
- 10:39principle. And so in this context, I want
- 10:42to introduce President Trump's comments this morning, and I
- 10:45want you to think about the political leadership of Abraham
- 10:49Lincoln. I want you to think about the
- 10:51political leadership of those that were, as they were called
- 10:54then, abolitionists in the 19th century, who said we will not
- 10:58accept the compromise, the compromise of allowing some to
- 11:02be enslaved and others to be free, but that all men are Born
- 11:06Free and should be free. And similarly, all humans have
- 11:11the right to live and should be allowed to be born to begin with
- 11:15and not killed by the great violence of abortion.
- 11:18So let's go to President Trump's comments.
- 11:20This is what he's signaling for his continuing presidential
- 11:25campaign. And he's signaling this because,
- 11:27you know, President Trump, he wants to win.
- 11:29It's understandable anybody wanting and running for an
- 11:32election wants to win, but let's see the pathway he's choosing
- 11:35right now to win. Let's let's listen to the the
- 11:37clip here. Under my leadership, the
- 11:41Republican Party will always support the creation of strong,
- 11:45thriving, and healthy American families.
- 11:48We want to make it easier for mothers and families to have
- 11:51babies, not harder. That includes supporting the
- 11:55availability of fertility treatments like IVF in every
- 11:59state in America. Like the overwhelming majority
- 12:03of Americans, including the vast majority of Republicans,
- 12:06conservatives, Christians, and pro-life Americans, I strongly
- 12:10support the availability of IVF for couples who are trying to
- 12:14have a precious baby. What could be more beautiful or
- 12:18better than that? OK, we can pass here.
- 12:20I want to start with this because he's not talking right
- 12:22now about a federal ban on abortion versus states.
- 12:25He's not even talking about abortion legislation right now.
- 12:27He's talking about IVFIVF has been in the news.
- 12:31We've talked about it on the show before.
- 12:32But I need to make a note here. I don't want to focus the show
- 12:35today on IVF because we have done that and we'll be doing
- 12:37more of that in the future. But it's important to make a
- 12:41note here. The president is using this
- 12:43language. President Trump is using this
- 12:44language about the availability of IVF, and he's praising IVF
- 12:48quite frankly, as a, you know, important fertility treatment
- 12:50that family should have access to.
- 12:53What is lost here is realities of IVF that many people may not
- 12:57be aware of, which is that in IVF there are today an estimated
- 13:02a million million children in deep freeze, a million children
- 13:06in freezers unsure of their fate, if they'll ever see the
- 13:09the, if they'll ever see the opportunity to grow and be born.
- 13:13There are countless more. Countless.
- 13:15Truly, we don't know the number, but they estimate that it's up
- 13:18to it's under 10% of children who are created via IVF, make it
- 13:23to birth, make it alive. The IVF process is very
- 13:26dangerous for children. Many children are discarded or
- 13:30destroyed in the process of IVF. They're miscarried in the
- 13:34process of IVF or they're in deep freeze in the process of
- 13:37IVF. In that sense, it's very not
- 13:40pro-life because IVF puts these new human lives that are
- 13:43intentionally created under great risk during their journey
- 13:47into potentially being born one day.
- 13:49Many don't even have that opportunity because they're
- 13:51frozen or they're destroyed before they even have that
- 13:53opportunity. This is, this is the real truth
- 13:57of the IVF industry. But many people don't know it.
- 13:59They go into it with good intentioned hearts.
- 14:02I want a baby. I'm.
- 14:03I'm struggling with fertility. I really want a child, and they
- 14:05don't know that it's very dangerous for the child and that
- 14:09many children in the process are killed or left in deep freeze.
- 14:13And I want to say one more thing about this.
- 14:15In the state of Alabama, which President Trump is indirectly
- 14:19referencing, You probably remember this, the Alabama
- 14:22Supreme Court just, I think it was two months ago, ruled that
- 14:27parents in Alabama could bring a wrongful death suit against an
- 14:30IVF clinic. Remember this.
- 14:32And the Alabama Supreme Court was lambasted by media,
- 14:36including local media in Alabama, that they were harming
- 14:39the IVF clinics, that they were harming IVF families because
- 14:44some IVF clinics threatened to shut down in Alabama because now
- 14:49they might face wrongful death lawsuits from parents.
- 14:53And why did the parents bring the lawsuit in Alabama?
- 14:56Because what happened was in this IVF clinic, they left the
- 15:00door unsecured. Somebody walked in and smashed
- 15:04some of the babies who were in deep freeze, negligent, totally
- 15:09negligent by the IVF clinic and they are these precious sons and
- 15:13daughters were killed. And the parents were heartbroken
- 15:16that the IVF clinic was reckless and allowed this to happen to
- 15:19their babies. And so they tried to sue and the
- 15:22Alabama Supreme Court said you can sue.
- 15:25That's all they said. They didn't say the child.
- 15:27They didn't even say IVF should be banned.
- 15:29They didn't say IVF, you know, is the IVF clinic is not allowed
- 15:35to do IVF. They just said that parents can
- 15:39sue if there's negligence. That's it.
- 15:42And what happened? Massive outcry.
- 15:45Then what happened? Tragically, in a rush to respond
- 15:50to that massive outcry, even pro-life, self avowed pro-life
- 15:55legislators in Alabama and the Governor passed a law that
- 15:59allows IVF clinics in Alabama to operate with complete impunity,
- 16:02meaning they cannot be sued for any reason and they certainly
- 16:06can't be held criminally liable. If they intentionally kill at
- 16:10the request of parents, say babies or abandoned babies in
- 16:14deep freeze, they turn the freezer off and kill the baby.
- 16:17Or they are negligent and recklessly allow somebody to
- 16:20smash the bottles of the babies or the the vials of the babies
- 16:23who are in deep freeze. No recourse for parents, no
- 16:26recourse for anyone on behalf of those babies.
- 16:30Those babies have zero legal status in Alabama.
- 16:33That's what ultimately this legislation that got signed to
- 16:36law says. How is that pro-life to say that
- 16:39an IVF baby, a baby conceived, an IVF, has no rights and their
- 16:44parents don't even have rights to sue on their behalf.
- 16:47It's not pro-life, unfortunately, that the talking
- 16:50point here, you know, from President Trump and from other
- 16:53politicians is that we need more IVF as opposed to maybe we need
- 16:57to look at alternatives and reject a practice that has led
- 17:01to the deaths and the misuse of the lives of so many children.
- 17:06Right. So I'm going to move on because
- 17:09there's much more we could say on this, but we're going to do
- 17:11more in future episodes. In fact, I'm going to have on
- 17:13the show in just a few weeks Doctor Lauren Rubal, who was an
- 17:17IVF specialist. She's a doctor and OBGYN who
- 17:20worked in IVF and she's going to walk us through step by step
- 17:23what IVF actually is, what it does and it's harms.
- 17:27Everyone deserves to hear this, including parents who have done
- 17:29or are considering IVF. Everyone needs to hear this.
- 17:31So we're going to get to that. But I want to go back to
- 17:35President Trump's comments and the beef of what he says, which
- 17:38is the meat of what he says, which is about abortion
- 17:42restriction and regulation. So let's go to that next.
- 17:48Other than that, today, I'm pleased that the Alabama
- 17:51Legislature has acted very quickly and passed legislation
- 17:56that preserves the availability of IVF in Alabama.
- 18:00They really did a great and fast job.
- 18:03The Republican Party should always be on the side of the
- 18:06miracle of life and the side of mother's father.
- 18:09They're beautiful babies and that's what we are.
- 18:11IVF is an important part of that and our great Republican Party
- 18:15will always be with you in your quest for the ultimate joy in
- 18:20life. Many people have asked me what
- 18:23my position is on abortion and abortion rights, especially
- 18:27since I was proudly the person responsible for the ending of
- 18:30something that all legal scholars, both sides wanted and
- 18:35in fact demanded be ended. Roe V Wade, they wanted it
- 18:40ended. It must be remembered that the
- 18:43Democrats are the radical ones on this position because they
- 18:47support abortion up to and even beyond the 9th month, the
- 18:51concept of having an abortion in the later months, and even
- 18:55execution after birth. And that's exactly what it is.
- 18:59The baby is born. The baby is executed after
- 19:02birth, is unacceptable, and almost everyone agrees with
- 19:07that. My view is now that we have
- 19:09abortion, where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint to,
- 19:13states will determine by vote or legislation or perhaps both, and
- 19:17whatever they decide must be the law of the land, in this case
- 19:22the law of the state. Many states.
- 19:25Will be. So he's very clear here.
- 19:27He starts by saying, you know, some sort of pro-life light
- 19:30commentary like you shouldn't kill a baby in the later
- 19:32trimester, don't kill a baby who's a newborn.
- 19:35OK, great, 100% agree. And I think that, yes, most
- 19:40people can agree on that. He is right there.
- 19:42But then he goes on to really deliver the main core of his
- 19:45message, which is that it's up to the states.
- 19:47Roe V Wade is overruled. Now it's up to the will of the
- 19:51people. It's up to the states, and
- 19:52that's where it should be. And this is the fatal flaw.
- 19:56This is the fatal flaw because this is not the pro-life
- 19:59position. It's not the pro-life position
- 20:01to say let California go its way and let Texas go its way.
- 20:07Think about it. Let's break this down.
- 20:09We talked about slavery earlier. Imagine if that had been the
- 20:13abolitionist, the pro freedom movement position.
- 20:18OK, let the South decide to have their slaves.
- 20:21Just let us do what we want in the North and not have our
- 20:24slaves. Because slavery is wrong in our
- 20:26view, but they think it's right in there.
- 20:28So they're going to do what they want to do.
- 20:30That's not the position of justice.
- 20:34That's not a position that respects human rights.
- 20:36That's a position of right, of of might makes right, The might
- 20:41makes right positions as you have the power to persecute or
- 20:46to dominate X people, minority group.
- 20:51And therefore, if you choose to use that power, it is your right
- 20:54to do so. This is the idea of democracy is
- 20:57right at all costs, right? If the democracy votes on it,
- 20:59then it's OK what that really is saying.
- 21:03If the mob rules, if the mob decides lynch that man, hang
- 21:08that man, let that baby be killed, then the mob is right
- 21:12because they cast some ballots and they did it in a democratic
- 21:16process, right? They, they, they, they voted on
- 21:19it. And therefore, it's OK.
- 21:21That's not how a country of rule, of of of of law and rule
- 21:27actually operates. That's not how a country of
- 21:30justice actually operates. That's why we're not just a
- 21:34democracy, by the way, as a country.
- 21:36Because just a democracy, if everything was a thumbs up or
- 21:38thumbs down based on what the potential mob thinks, we'd have
- 21:42some serious issues. We're not just a democracy in
- 21:45this country. We're a Democratic Republic.
- 21:48There's more systems. We also have a judiciary.
- 21:50We also have a We have multiple branches of government that
- 21:53keeps the other branches in check.
- 21:55So to say that it's OK and it's actually good for states to
- 22:00decide which children should live or die.
- 22:03Oh, the child can live or die in the second trimester, In the
- 22:08third trimester. Oh, just the first.
- 22:09Only in the first trimester, it's OK to kill the baby.
- 22:12But that's what we decide. No, you don't get to decide
- 22:15that. The pro-life position is this.
- 22:18It is always wrong to intentionally take an innocent
- 22:22human life. It's always wrong to do that.
- 22:25Abortion is the intentional taking of an innocent human
- 22:29life. Therefore, abortion is always
- 22:33wrong. Abortion is always wrong because
- 22:36it's the intentional taking of an innocent human life.
- 22:38We know it's an innocent human life because the science is
- 22:40crystal clear on that. Science shows us that human life
- 22:42begins at fertilization. We know this is a child at 3 1/2
- 22:45weeks. The hearts already beating.
- 22:47Brain waves can be detected by six or seven weeks.
- 22:49I mean, it's amazing how quickly this child grows.
- 22:51This is a human life, a son or a daughter.
- 22:54That is the fact. And the other fact is that human
- 22:58rights are universal. They are inalienable.
- 23:01That means they belong to all of us.
- 23:03We all possess them by virtue of being human, being human.
- 23:07It's enough that you are human. That gives you human rights.
- 23:12You can also say you're made in God's image.
- 23:14You are endowed by your Creator with these rights.
- 23:16As our Declaration says, first right is what life.
- 23:19What is the right to life mean? The right to not be killed.
- 23:23What does our Constitution say? The 14th Amendment says
- 23:25specifically that no state, no state mind you, has the right to
- 23:31deprive anyone of life without due process.
- 23:34The state does not have the right to create a law that says
- 23:37if you are in the first trimester, you can be killed.
- 23:40If you were conceived through sexual violence, you can be
- 23:43killed. If your mother and the doctor
- 23:46decide together that the mother doesn't want this baby, you can
- 23:49be killed and you can operate as an abortion clinic with
- 23:52impunity. You may operate because someone
- 23:55who is stronger than this baby decided that the baby can be
- 23:58killed. That is not protecting human
- 24:03rights, obviously. And human rights mean that you
- 24:06have a right to live, and you have that right to live, that
- 24:10right to be protected by not just your state, but by your
- 24:14country. And if your state is violating
- 24:17your rights, then your country, the federal law, should step
- 24:21into play here. And that's where there is a
- 24:23responsibility for both our Supreme Court and for our our
- 24:29Congress, our U.S. Congress to take action.
- 24:33And President Trump here is saying, I'm washing my hands of
- 24:35this. He's saying I'm washing my hands
- 24:36of this. I'm washing my hands of this.
- 24:38I'm, it's the states. It's the states.
- 24:40And it would be one thing if President Trump said it's the
- 24:42states. It's the states.
- 24:43Because guys, I'm super pro-life.
- 24:45I want a federal abortion ban. You know, this is wrong.
- 24:48But there's only so much I can do, guys.
- 24:50You know, that would be one thing.
- 24:52And I still would disagree with him, but that would be one
- 24:54thing. But he's not even saying that
- 24:56here. He's taking a moral high ground
- 24:58here by saying that it should be the states.
- 25:03It's good that it's the states it states mobs don't get to
- 25:08decide, should not get to decide who lives or dies, whether
- 25:11little babies are dismembered in the first trimester in suction
- 25:14to death. Well, little babies in the
- 25:16second trimester are dismembered during live, excruciating
- 25:20dismemberment abortions and pulled out limb from torso from
- 25:23their mother's womb Where their babies in the third trimester,
- 25:26like here in California where it's legal to kill abortions
- 25:29through all nine months, can be given a lethal injection and
- 25:32then delivered dead lethal injections.
- 25:35For babies in a state where they don't even give lethal
- 25:37injections to criminal offenders who've murdered serial killers
- 25:44who have murdered multiple people.
- 25:46You give the lethal injection to the baby for being unwanted, for
- 25:50the crime of being unwanted, and we don't permit the death
- 25:53penalty for others who are convicted criminals.
- 25:56How does this make sense? It doesn't make sense.
- 25:59It's not just. It's not reasonable,
- 26:03unfortunately. This is the message that
- 26:05President Trump is pushing as the pro-life candidate, and it
- 26:09is deeply unfortunate. It's deeply tragic to see this
- 26:12statement from the president, from the former president.
- 26:14Let's listen to the rest of it. The law of the state.
- 26:21Many states will be different, Many will have a different
- 26:25number of weeks, or some will have more conservative than
- 26:29others and that's what they will be at the end of the day.
- 26:32This is all about the will of the people.
- 26:34You must follow your heart or in many cases your religion or your
- 26:39faith. Do what's right for your family
- 26:42and do what's right for yourself.
- 26:44Do what's right for your children.
- 26:45Do what's right for our country and.
- 26:48Vote so so President Trump is saying, do what's right.
- 26:51Follow your heart. What is right, President Trump
- 26:54with abortion. It is not complicated.
- 26:57It is never right to kill an innocent human being.
- 27:01Abortion kills an innocent human being.
- 27:03Abortion is never right. He won't say it.
- 27:06He's not saying it, and he's saying folly.
- 27:09Your heart, do what's best for your family.
- 27:12These are nice sounding platitudes that have a deadly
- 27:15implication here, a deadly implication, which is that let
- 27:19the states decide. And some states like California
- 27:22and New York, they're deciding, They've decided.
- 27:25They've decided to let the killing take place through all
- 27:27nine months of pregnancy for any reason.
- 27:30And it is brutal. It's devastating.
- 27:33There's 2500 abortions, more than 2500 abortions a day in
- 27:36this country. Children, boys and girls, sons
- 27:40and daughters being dismembered, being killed.
- 27:43And the leading, the candidate for the GOP former president is
- 27:48saying let it be, let it be. Go fight it out of the state.
- 27:52If you want to do some work, go fight it out.
- 27:54But for me, I'm going to let it be because that's that's not my
- 27:57job. It is your job.
- 28:00It is the job of the executive branch, of the judiciary, of the
- 28:03legislative branch. It's the job of all branches of
- 28:05government to work together to ensure that our basic human
- 28:09rights are protected and the weakest members of our society
- 28:13do not have that protection in place.
- 28:15It is your job. Let's keep listening and finish
- 28:18out the statement from the president.
- 28:22Important to vote at the end of the day, it's all about will of
- 28:26the people. That's where we are right now
- 28:29and that's what we want, the will of the people.
- 28:31I want to thank you 6 Justice. It's so easy to say I'm OK with
- 28:36the will of the people when your life is not on the line.
- 28:39President Trump's life is not on the line in the sense that
- 28:42people democracy is voting whether he lives or dies.
- 28:47Well, my life is not on the line right now to vote whether Lila
- 28:50lives or dies. Your life is not on the line.
- 28:52They're not. There's not a, there's not a
- 28:53group getting together to do a ballot initiative to vote
- 28:57whether you specifically get to live or die.
- 28:59But there are thousands and future millions of children
- 29:03whose lives are in the line because somebody's voting on it.
- 29:06And it's very easy for us as adults with our rights protected
- 29:09because we are born, because we have the privilege of birth to
- 29:13say, huh, say la vie, let them decide the will of the people
- 29:18when we are not. Our lives are not on the line.
- 29:20Put yourself in the shoes of the preborn life.
- 29:23Who is on the line? Who has their whole life in
- 29:26front of them and who There are actively people who are voting
- 29:29on whether or not it's OK for someone to go kill that life
- 29:32because they're unwanted or seen as undesirable.
- 29:34That is what the president is speaking about, and it is
- 29:37tragic. You can keep going here.
- 29:42This is Chief Justice John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel
- 29:46Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch.
- 29:51Incredible people for having the courage to allow this long term
- 29:55hard fought battle to finally end this 50 year battle over Roe
- 30:00V Wade, took it out of the federal hands and brought it
- 30:03into the hearts, minds and vote of the people at each state was
- 30:08really something. Now it's up to the states to do
- 30:11the right thing. Like Ronald Reagan, I am
- 30:13strongly in favor of exceptions for rape, incest and life of the
- 30:18mother. You must follow your heart of
- 30:20this issue, but remember all. Right.
- 30:22So this is kind of where he closes out here.
- 30:23But this is very important to note this here.
- 30:26The president is revealing his position even more clearly at
- 30:28this point. President Trump, he's saying
- 30:31that ultimately we have to have the states do the right thing.
- 30:35And then he goes on to say basically what he thinks that
- 30:38right thing to be. And he reiterates what he calls
- 30:40Ronald Reagan's position, which is that it's OK to kill the baby
- 30:44in cases of rape, incest, or if the life or the health of the
- 30:46mother is at risk. And this is, again, tragic and
- 30:49not the pro-life position, unfortunately, the position that
- 30:52Trump is saying even beyond his mistake about the states should
- 30:55decide and when fight it out what they want to do.
- 30:58He's saying, OK, states do the right thing.
- 30:59What's the right thing? According to President Trump,
- 31:01he's saying that there's needs to be exceptions.
- 31:04There should be exceptions. What does this actually mean?
- 31:07I want to break this down here because I think we get lost in
- 31:09the language here, the rhetoric, and unfortunately it's very
- 31:13euphemistic. So these are kind of false words
- 31:16that are being used to cover up a an ugly reality, you know,
- 31:19positive sounding words. What does it mean when you say
- 31:22abortion should be legal in the exception in the cases of these
- 31:27severe tragedies? Right.
- 31:30Let's break down the first one, rape and incest.
- 31:32What is happening in the situation in sexual violence,
- 31:36horrific sexual violence, A baby is conceived, usually there is a
- 31:41horrible perpetrator, perpetrator, typically, he's
- 31:44not. Sometimes he's not held
- 31:46accountable. There's a victim here, a woman,
- 31:49a girl who becomes pregnant. And what is the idea of an
- 31:54exception for abortion in this case?
- 31:56It means that if this happens, if a baby is conceived this way,
- 32:00when that baby does not have any legal status, that baby has no
- 32:03right to live. It is OK to kill the baby in the
- 32:06case of rape or incest. Rape or incest are horrific
- 32:11violences that are not healed or solved in any way by an
- 32:15abortion, which is another horrific violence.
- 32:18This gets lost in the conversation, in this talk of
- 32:21exceptions, in this euphemistic language of exceptions.
- 32:24If a woman or a girl survives rape or incest, she's not going
- 32:27to get healed by an abortion. It's not that she's going to
- 32:30forget the horror of the rape she endured.
- 32:32She's not going to somehow get better emotional support because
- 32:36she has an abortion. In fact, an abortion adds
- 32:38another trauma to that first trauma of rape and an additional
- 32:42injustice, which is to destroy an innocent human life conceived
- 32:45in rape. Your parents sins or crimes
- 32:50should not be on you to pay the price for.
- 32:55But that's exactly what an exception in rape or incest
- 32:57does. It says you are responsible, in
- 33:01fact, in some ways more responsible for the crime of
- 33:04your father, that we're going to kill you in an abortion.
- 33:08We don't even give the death penalty to rapists.
- 33:11It's against federal law, in fact, to do that.
- 33:15And so why would we give the death penalty to an innocent
- 33:17child conceived in rape? That's the president's position
- 33:20here, President Trump's position, and it's tragic.
- 33:22It's not correct. It's not just it's not loving.
- 33:26It's not loving to the rape survivor because it's another
- 33:29trauma. We're pretending that somehow
- 33:31she's going to be helped by an additional trauma and injustice.
- 33:34And it's horrific to that baby. And then the other thing that
- 33:37the President Trump, President Trump says here is, well, what
- 33:39about the life of the mother? Common misunderstanding.
- 33:42But medical doctors agree. Thousands of OBGYNS have agreed
- 33:45that abortion is not medically necessary.
- 33:49Killing a baby intentionally is not a medical treatment.
- 33:52In some cases, you may need to do an early delivery or manage a
- 33:55pregnancy carefully to ensure best outcomes for baby and
- 33:57mother. But you don't need to go in
- 33:59there and destroy the baby's life to save the life of the
- 34:01mother. And in fact, even former
- 34:04abortionist Anthony Levitino, he worked in a high risk N Upper
- 34:09New York State clinic helping moms with very high risk
- 34:13pregnancy. Dealing with thousands of these
- 34:14pregnancies, he said. I never once had to kill a baby
- 34:17to save a big mother's life. In some cases, we may have to do
- 34:21an early delivery in an extreme emergency.
- 34:23Early delivery of the baby is when you deliver the baby early,
- 34:26but you're not killing the baby in the process.
- 34:28And you hope that you have extended that pregnancy long
- 34:31enough that the baby has a shot at life and you can put the baby
- 34:34in NICU and let that baby live, right?
- 34:38Big misunderstanding here. And the problem here is the
- 34:40president, President Trump is perpetuating this myth that we
- 34:43need abortion for health, that abortion is somehow healthcare
- 34:46when it's the farthest thing from it.
- 34:48All right. It was very disappointing to
- 34:50hear the statement from President Trump.
- 34:52It was disappointing. And he's, he's smarter than
- 34:56this. I mean he's a very smart
- 34:58politician. He know.
- 35:00I think he, I think he should know better at this point.
- 35:03He's kind of saying I have my position on abortion.
- 35:05Finally, at the beginning he says this.
- 35:06You've been the president for four years before and you've
- 35:08been running now, you know, since then, basically planning
- 35:12to run again since Joe Biden took the office and now you're
- 35:16figuring it out eight years later.
- 35:17You should be pro-life. You should be fully pro-life,
- 35:21anti abortion against killing a baby, no matter what.
- 35:24People talk about political expediency.
- 35:26OK, I'm going to address that. People are asking me Lila, but
- 35:29how? How about winning the election,
- 35:31Lila, how do you win the election?
- 35:33And I want to share a couple polls here that people may not
- 35:37have considered about winning elections and pro-life law
- 35:40because according to President Trump in the statement, there's
- 35:44no federal law he would run to stop abortions.
- 35:48There's no federal restrictions in most European countries.
- 35:51The federal law, the nation's, the national law prohibits
- 35:56abortion after the first trimester.
- 35:58We don't have that in the United States.
- 36:00We allow states like California and New York to kill through all
- 36:04nine months the will of the people.
- 36:06We allow that. That's not even allowed in most
- 36:09of Europe. And President Trump is not
- 36:11taking a stand here. He's washing his hands of it and
- 36:13and people are saying, well, he has to do that.
- 36:15Lila, it's politically expedient.
- 36:17We got to win the election. The Democrats are worse.
- 36:20Yes, I will fully acknowledge President Biden is worse on
- 36:22abortion than President Trump. That is.
- 36:24That is not an argument. That's not even being contested
- 36:27here. President Biden is zealously pro
- 36:30abortion through all nine months for any reason.
- 36:32He would never pass any pro-life law.
- 36:34But President Trump here is indicating he would not pass any
- 36:37pro-life law at the federal level.
- 36:38When he takes power, let the states figure it out.
- 36:42And the reality is he could pass the federal law if he had both
- 36:45houses of Congress, which we might get.
- 36:47It's possible we've had it before.
- 36:49What are some pro-life laws he could pass?
- 36:51Well, look at Florida for an example.
- 36:54Florida passed the heartbeat law, as did Texas before they
- 36:57fully banned abortion. Banning abortions after the
- 37:00baby's heartbeat can be detected around six or seven weeks.
- 37:04These laws save thousands, 10s of thousands, and a national
- 37:08skill would save hundreds of thousands of lives from
- 37:11abortion. Hundreds of thousands, they say,
- 37:13estimated up to 2/3 of babies are killed.
- 37:16After that 7 to 8 week, seven week mark.
- 37:19So we're talking about hundreds of thousands of lives
- 37:22nationally. People say, well, the heartbeat
- 37:24law is not popular. Like it would never pass.
- 37:26That's not true. That's a narrative from
- 37:29mainstream media that's very pro abortion that hates the
- 37:32heartbeat law. I want to pull up some pulling
- 37:34here on this 'cause this is very important for us to be aware of.
- 37:37So according to a Rasmussen poll, and this was done a
- 37:42national poll of voters on the heartbeat law.
- 37:45This was after Texas passed their heartbeat law that Greg
- 37:49Abbott, Governor Abbott signed into law.
- 37:52And this law, this poll from Rasmussen found that 46% of
- 37:57Americans, bipartisan. So this was both Democrats and
- 38:00Republicans said that they support banning abortions once
- 38:06the heartbeat of the baby can be detected.
- 38:08And only 43%, only 43% of Americans opposed it.
- 38:13So more Americans supported federally a national ban on
- 38:18babies when the heartbeat can be detected, then opposed it.
- 38:21This is a tremendously significant poll that was done.
- 38:25There are other polls that have been done as well.
- 38:27As an example, according to this was just a year ago, April 2023.
- 38:32NPR found that the proportion of Americans who support pro-life
- 38:36laws up to the time of cardiac activity at about six weeks.
- 38:40So abortion restriction at six weeks had increased from 27% to
- 38:4540%. Big increase in the popularity
- 38:49of this law, especially when it's educated on when people are
- 38:52educated on this. A year ago, 62% of 62% of
- 38:57Floridians, and this included Democrats.
- 39:00Among those, 62% support legislation to protect unborn
- 39:05babies when a heartbeat is detected. 61% of Floridian in
- 39:10Florida can be considered, you know, a kind of a bellwether
- 39:12state you have. It's a purple state.
- 39:15You have, you know, potential for it to go left or right.
- 39:18Often can go right. And Governor DeSantis has done
- 39:20amazing leadership there. But with 61% of independence in
- 39:24Florida support a heartbeat law. 58% of women in Florida support
- 39:29a heartbeat law. Hispanic voters were even more
- 39:32likely than others to support the legislation at 76% talk
- 39:36about the Hispanic vote. 76% of Floridians who are Hispanic
- 39:40support the heartbeat law. In Florida there's a lot of
- 39:44support, especially when they're winsomely messaged on and led on
- 39:48by good leaders for significant abortion restrictions.
- 39:53So why is the president not even backing any and instead saying
- 39:58throw it to the states President Trump?
- 40:00It doesn't make any sense. So there's more research on
- 40:04this. In fact, we're going to be
- 40:06putting out a memo from Live Action discussing the political
- 40:10palatability of some of these abortion restrictions now, right
- 40:16and wrong, regardless of whether something is politically
- 40:18palatable, you need to say what's right.
- 40:20You need to do, you need to do what's right.
- 40:23You need to speak the truth. So I think it's one thing again,
- 40:26if a politician says I support complete legal protection for
- 40:29the preborn child, but I'm going to sign yes on this legislation
- 40:32because it's the best we can do with the current political
- 40:34status of the state. That's one thing.
- 40:36But that's not what President Trump is doing here.
- 40:39It's also what he did. He didn't say I'm completely
- 40:41pro-life. I support every life's right to
- 40:43live. The country's not there yet.
- 40:45I'm going to do the best I can with within the working
- 40:47framework I have. That's not what he did, right.
- 40:50He said let the states decide. And I'm like Ronald Reagan.
- 40:53I support these exceptions. It doesn't have to be that way.
- 40:56Even from the political expediency standpoint, it
- 41:00doesn't have to be that way. Heartbeat law can be very
- 41:03popular. It's been successful in states
- 41:05like Florida. It is successful in a state like
- 41:08Texas. In fact, abortion abolition is
- 41:10successful in Texas. We can do more.
- 41:13We can do better. We've got to do more.
- 41:16We've got to do better. In fact, the GOP, the Republican
- 41:20Party's platform is pro-life, defines itself as being pro-life
- 41:25for all children, that it's completely protect should
- 41:28protect all children from abortion.
- 41:30President Trump's exceptions, let the states figure it out.
- 41:33That's not even the GOP platform right now.
- 41:37So in conclusion here in President Trump, we've got to
- 41:40step back and say this is not acceptable, this isn't
- 41:43politically smart, this isn't going to mobilize your base.
- 41:46This is disappointing. Your base and this is not going
- 41:49to win over some pro aborts to your side.
- 41:51They want abortion through all nine months.
- 41:53They're not going to go vote for you because you're saying let
- 41:56Texas ban its abortions if it wants to.
- 41:58That states rights argument is not going to win the day with
- 42:02your average pro abort Democrat. Who are you winning here?
- 42:05Who are you winning? You're not winning anyone's vote
- 42:08here. President Trump, the political
- 42:10strategy you're playing out here is not successful.
- 42:13It's not. It's not going to succeed.
- 42:16Do what's right, say what's right, and there are very
- 42:20politically palatable on both the left and the right,
- 42:23significant pro-life measures that you can take as President
- 42:27of the United States. And we urge you to do it.
- 42:31It's not too late. The election isn't for several,
- 42:33many more months. And you can change your tone
- 42:37here. That's my message to President
- 42:39Trump. You can change your tone.
- 42:41You can change your position. You've changed it before.
- 42:44Do what's right. Pro lifers want to vote for you.
- 42:48Give them a good reason. Give them a good reason to vote
- 42:51for you. And don't just make it.
- 42:52Oh, be loyal to me because years ago I put pro-life justices in
- 42:56place. Unfortunately, even with those
- 42:59pro-life justices in place, we still have the fight of our
- 43:02lives because children are being killed and we got to.
- 43:04We've got to protect them. So do more, do better.
- 43:07We people want to be able to vote for you because Lord knows
- 43:12President Biden is not not a good option.
- 43:14Not a good option. OK, I'll have many more thoughts
- 43:17on this. We will talk about this more in
- 43:19the future. We'll continue to talk and cover
- 43:21the election in the future. But I wanted to break down his
- 43:23President Trump statements. I wanted to break down political
- 43:27viability of these different pro-life laws and let me know
- 43:31your thoughts. Obviously, as always, I love to
- 43:32hear from you guys. I'm going to check the chat now
- 43:34on YouTube because we're doing this on YouTube live.
- 43:38Judas says no to killing babies. Yep, that's the that's the
- 43:41pro-life position in a nutshell. Do not kill.
- 43:45There's some other comments here about Trump.
- 43:47I think there was one I saw earlier.
- 43:49What can we do? Let's see here where it was.
- 43:53There's lots of chat is going here, lots of debate happening
- 43:56in the chat. I'm going to come back to this
- 43:58chat a few more times in this live to finish out here.
- 44:03President's job is never to be a tyrant and enforce laws
- 44:05nationally. He did what he should give the
- 44:07power back to the states. And this is from a comment here
- 44:10on the YouTube chat. Incorrect.
- 44:13The president's job is to uphold the Constitution of the United
- 44:16States. It's not just to go with mob
- 44:18rule. And if the Constitution of the
- 44:20United States promises certain fundamental human rights, then
- 44:23yes, the president and all branches of government should
- 44:26get involved in ensuring that those rights are upheld.
- 44:29That is the president's job. He takes an oath to uphold the
- 44:32Constitution. The Constitution says you have a
- 44:35right to life, and that right should not be deprived without
- 44:40any due process. And that's what abortion does.
- 44:42So I would take issue with that and say absolutely, the
- 44:46president has a job here. And it's not just to placate the
- 44:48masses or to let the states do terrible and egregious
- 44:52injustices. That's not the job of the
- 44:54president. All right, We're going to go
- 44:57quickly here to the declaration from the Vatican.
- 45:00This is some good news, guys. I know this was a disappointing
- 45:03statement this morning from President Trump, but there is
- 45:05good news coming out of the Vatican.
- 45:08There has been criticism of the Holy Father of Pope Francis for
- 45:11not being strong enough on bioethical issues.
- 45:14You know, sometimes the right is upset with the president, with
- 45:17the Pope, and other times the left is upset with the Pope.
- 45:20I think the Pope's job, you know, the Pope's job is, is to
- 45:23be true to the Magisterium of the church and to what?
- 45:26How Jesus Christ is leading the church and the Holy Spirit is
- 45:28leading the church. And I do want to celebrate this
- 45:31declaration coming out of the Vatican because it says some
- 45:33very beautiful things. So this is a really positive
- 45:35note to end on here. And I think it's important that
- 45:38we all know what this declaration says.
- 45:41Before that, I've got to thank our last two sponsors for the
- 45:44episode today. As you guys know, we've
- 45:47partnered again with the Halo app, which is the number one
- 45:50prayer app in America and in the world.
- 45:52Actually, it's been top on the App Store many times.
- 45:56This is an app that's used by millions of people to help them
- 45:58pray. As you guys know.
- 46:00And as I announced in my last show, we had paused our
- 46:04partnership with Hallow because they chose to work with at the
- 46:07time in some of their public marketing.
- 46:09A person who was very involved in pro abortion activism a few
- 46:11years ago, I've had a lot of heart to hearts with the
- 46:14leadership since then and they've apologized.
- 46:16They said they will not make that mistake again.
- 46:19They are very pro-life, the company and they do amazing work
- 46:22and they've been proved their vetting processes and will not
- 46:24be doing that in the future. So if you're someone who's
- 46:26pro-life, you're someone who's supporting the pro-life
- 46:30movement. I think you can with confidence
- 46:31download the Hallow app and use them.
- 46:33They are committed to, of course, not just the pro-life
- 46:36ethic, but they're committed to prayer and bringing people
- 46:39closer to God. Their app is amazing.
- 46:41It's the best in class app in the App Store of any prayer app.
- 46:44It has meditations that you can do holy Scripture readings, deep
- 46:48diving, the Bible. Right now they're doing a whole
- 46:51series on the early church where you can learn about what the
- 46:53early Christian Church has to say in their prayer practices.
- 46:57It has sleep stories. It has content for kids.
- 46:59There's tons of beautiful content on the Halo app.

- 48:08OK, good news here. Declaration from the Vatican.
- 48:10I just want to read some of these beautiful lines.
- 48:12So it's called Dignitas Infinita on human dignity, and it is
- 48:18coming from the to castry for the doctrine of the faith.
- 48:22It's a declaration, and it says, Dignitas infinita.
- 48:26Every human person possesses an infinite dignity, inalienably
- 48:31grounded in his or her very being, which prevails in and
- 48:35beyond every circumstance, state or situation the person may ever
- 48:39encounter. How beautiful this is, the
- 48:42fullness of the pro-life position, right?
- 48:44That every person has this infinite dignity.
- 48:47It's a beautifully it's a beautiful phrase.
- 48:49You have infinite dignity because you're made in the image
- 48:52of an infinitely good God. And it specifically notes the
- 48:57evils, some very controversial things, including abortion,
- 49:01surrogacy, euthanasia, and transgender gender ideology.
- 49:05I want to read some quotes here because I think they're
- 49:07important for us to think about and meditate on number one.
- 49:11It notes. It quotes Pope John Paul, Pope
- 49:15St. John Paul.
- 49:15The second saying among all the crimes which can be committed
- 49:20against life, procured abortion has characteristics making it
- 49:25particularly serious and deplorable today, In many
- 49:28people's consciences, the perception of its gravity has
- 49:31become progressively obscured. We were talking early about
- 49:35euphemisms, President Trump's comments We're obscuring how
- 49:39uniquely deplorable abortion is. The acceptance of abortion in
- 49:44the popular mind, in behavior, and even in law, in law itself,
- 49:49is a telling sign of an extremely dangerous crisis of
- 49:54the moral sense which is becoming more and more incapable
- 49:57of distinguishing between good and evil, even when the
- 50:01fundamental right to life is at stake.
- 50:04Powerful words repeated here in this declaration from Pope St.
- 50:08John Paul the 2nd. It's sobering for us to remember
- 50:12when we think about politics and the law and how we operate in
- 50:16the culture. This is a serious moral evil
- 50:19that puts at risk the most fundamental foundations of what
- 50:25it means to be human and rule of Law and justice.
- 50:29Surrogacy. The Declaration addresses
- 50:31surrogacy, also very hot topic in the news.
- 50:33We've discussed it on the show. They quote Pope Francis the
- 50:37path, the path to peace calls her respect for life for every
- 50:42human life, starting with the life of the unborn child in the
- 50:44mother's womb, which cannot be suppressed or turned into an
- 50:48object of trafficking. In this regard, I deemed
- 50:51deplorable the practice of so-called surrogate motherhood,
- 50:55which represents a grave violation of the dignity of the
- 50:58woman and the child based on the exploitation of situations of
- 51:01the mother's material needs. A child is always a gift and
- 51:05never the basis for a commercial contract.
- 51:09Consequently, I express my hope for an effort by the
- 51:11international community to prohibit this this practice
- 51:14universally. Surrogacy is wrong because it
- 51:17turns a child into a product, severing that child from his or
- 51:21her biological parents by design.
- 51:23This is of course different from adoption because an adoption
- 51:26there's a significant tragedy or problem that occurs that is not
- 51:31intended or foreseen, where the child who is conceived cannot be
- 51:35placed for whatever reason with the biological parents, so must
- 51:38be placed with a loving family to heal that wound of that being
- 51:42orphaned as a child. Surrogacy is the opposite.
- 51:44It's intentionally bringing a life into the world to then
- 51:46sever the bonds that that child deserves to have with his or her
- 51:50parents. Commoditizing pregnancy.
- 51:53It addresses euthanasia. This is a big one.
- 51:56We're going to do a show on this in the future because there's
- 51:58some very disturbing trends happening in the world right now
- 52:01in Canada, in parts of northern Europe, to promote the
- 52:06euthanasia that assisted killing doctors, assisting the killing
- 52:10of patients struggling with mental health issues with
- 52:13autism, the declaration reads. There is a special case of human
- 52:18dignity violation that is quieter but is swiftly gaining
- 52:22ground. It is unique in how it utilizes
- 52:25A mistaken understanding of human dignity to turn the
- 52:28concept of dignity against life itself.
- 52:32What's referencing here this idea of death with dignity?
- 52:34That to die with dignity means sometimes you can just have your
- 52:37doctor kill you that somehow dignified.
- 52:40This confusion is particularly evident today in discussion
- 52:44surrounding euthanasia. For example, laws permitting
- 52:48euthanasia or assisted suicide or sometimes called death with
- 52:51dignity acts with this. There is widespread notion that
- 52:55euthanasia or assisted suicide is sometimes somehow consistent
- 52:59with respect for the dignity of the human person.
- 53:01Certainly, the dignity of those who are critically or terminally
- 53:04ill call for suitable and necessary efforts to alleviate
- 53:07suffering by providing appropriate palliative care and
- 53:11avoiding aggressive treatments or disproportionate medical
- 53:14procedures. This approach corresponds with
- 53:17enduring responsibility to appreciate the needs of the sick
- 53:20person. However, an effort of this
- 53:22nature is entirely different from, and is indeed contrary to,
- 53:27a decision to end one's own life or that of another person who is
- 53:32burdened by suffering. They're saying in significant
- 53:36cases of stress and pain, it can be morally elicit to avoid
- 53:40certain treatments. It certainly is good to provide
- 53:43palliative care or Hospice care to provide alleviation of
- 53:47suffering. But to intentionally kill to
- 53:49take one's own life, or someone else's life that's entrusted to
- 53:53your care as a physician or caretaker, is always wrong.
- 53:57I'm grateful for this moral clarity.
- 53:59It's so needed today. It's so needed today.
- 54:02And you don't need to be Catholic or religious to
- 54:05recognize these fundamental truths that are written in our
- 54:09heart. That natural law reveals to us
- 54:12that it's always wrong to kill an innocent life.
- 54:15It's always wrong to kill an innocent life.
- 54:17And that children deserve their mother and their father when
- 54:21that can at all times be offered them.
- 54:24They deserve their biological mother and father.
- 54:26And if there's a broken, a breaking of bonds because of
- 54:29tragedy or death or other reasons, adoption can be a
- 54:31beautiful healing option. But ultimately, This is why IVF
- 54:36and surrogacy, egg donation, these practices are so
- 54:40problematic. So I'm grateful for this
- 54:43declaration from the Vatican. It's good.
- 54:45It's good to have this out. You know, it comes out the same
- 54:48morning that President Trump makes his Trump makes his
- 54:50comments. But it shows us there is a a
- 54:53North Star here of right and wrong, and we must be faithful
- 54:57to the truth, even if it's controversial, Especially
- 55:01actually, if it is controversial, be faithful to
- 55:04the truth, especially when it is controversial because the truth
- 55:10sets people free and the truth can save lives.
- 55:13That's the power of the truth, but we must be willing to speak
- 55:16it. I'm going to do a couple
- 55:19questions here before we wrap getting some questions in
- 55:22looking at the chat here, we're going to pull up, if we can pull
- 55:28up. Franco, There were a question
- 55:29coming in from social media. We got one on politics here
- 55:34asking about let's pull this up here, whether or not we should
- 55:40we vote for Donald Trump. Here we go.
- 55:43Should we vote for Donald Trump? Does he support the pro-life
- 55:46movement? As you can notice in my talk
- 55:51today, I did not say don't or do vote for president, former
- 55:54President Donald Trump. I think that now is the time to
- 55:59demand justice and right thinking from his from his
- 56:06campaign. I think we have the power.
- 56:09You know, the vote doesn't take place for several more months.
- 56:12Now is the time to signal what you care about as a voter.
- 56:16What do you care about? What is important to you?
- 56:18You're not voting tomorrow, you're voting in several months.
- 56:20There's a lot of time here for President Trump to evolve
- 56:25towards what is right here. So I would say, I think it's
- 56:28very clear that when you go to a an election, when you go into an
- 56:33election, when you go to a voting booth and the the
- 56:36Catholic Church teaches this, a lot of Christians believe this
- 56:38whether you're faith-based or not.
- 56:39Many people operate this way that there's usually not a
- 56:43perfect candidate. You usually pick the lesser of
- 56:45two evils, but the reality is we get a choice in how we support
- 56:51if we support candidates, and our support means the world to
- 56:54them. So if you signal to President
- 56:56Trump that no matter what, you'll vote for him, you don't
- 56:58care. As long as he's a margin, a a, a
- 57:02smidgen better than President Biden, you're in for life.
- 57:07Don't expect the best results. Don't expect the best results.
- 57:11But if you're going to say, listen, if you want me to
- 57:14campaign for you, if you want me to vote for you, if you want me
- 57:17to support you, grow a backbone, stand stronger, have a better
- 57:21position here on life. I think the campaign's
- 57:24listening. I think the campaign can and
- 57:26will listen. So pro-life America, make your
- 57:28voice heard. Don't just go the way of the
- 57:31candidate that is a little better than the last, but demand
- 57:34the best you can get. I think that needs to be the
- 57:36posture of the pro-life movement at this time.
- 57:40All right. Checking the chat here one more
- 57:41time. We'll take one more question
- 57:43from the chat before we wrap here.
- 57:46Here's a question. How do you know which statements
- 57:49to believe from this Pope? I'm a cradle Catholic and.
- 57:53But I'm. I'm here.
- 57:54I'm sick of hearing him speaking out of both sides of his mouth.
- 57:57All right. I understand some of the
- 57:59confusion here because I think there have been many statements
- 58:02that have been depending how they're reported in media or
- 58:05stated sometimes in the Italian by the Pope or Spanish and then
- 58:08translated into English. There's a lot of
- 58:11miscommunications and I do think the media is eager to pick up
- 58:16any sort of perceived discrepancy from what the Holy
- 58:19Father may say, not in an official statement, but make a
- 58:22media interview and create controversy from it.
- 58:26So I would just say be very discerning.
- 58:28If you hear someone saying the Pope said something, try to go
- 58:31back to the original source or text of what he may have said or
- 58:35may not have said. The Pope has never said
- 58:37anything. That's a departure from the
- 58:40teaching of the church, which is biblical, biblically based.
- 58:44It is without error. It's passed the test of time for
- 58:48now, 2000 years. And I'm happy to say that, say
- 58:51that with relief. Has he said things that I think
- 58:54have been misinterpreted or out of context?
- 58:56Yes. And confusing?
- 58:58Yes, quite frankly, I've even felt personally concerned.
- 59:02Oh, this seems confusing for people, but within a certain
- 59:05context, with a certain understanding, we can break it
- 59:07down and see, OK, this is actually not a violation of the
- 59:10scriptures or what the Church is teaching.
- 59:12This is with context. It there's there's truth to what
- 59:15he's saying actually. So I would say I understand the
- 59:18frustration. I I know many people who share
- 59:20it. But I would say go back to the
- 59:22original statements, look at the context, work through the
- 59:25context and know that there has been no change made by this Holy
- 59:30Father to remove one iota of the Church's teaching on faith and
- 59:35morals. And the official declarations
- 59:38coming from the Vatican, encyclicals coming from the
- 59:41Vatican are sharing more of the beautiful truths of our faith.
- 59:45So be encouraged by that and let's not go back and forth on
- 59:50this sort of outrage train that the media wants to take us on to
- 59:54create division. Instead be sober minded.
- 59:56I know the audience of this podcast is very serious.
- 1:00:00About what you may hear, hear or there from media, look at the
- 1:00:04original statements and trust that the gates of hell do not
- 1:00:07and will not prevail against Jesus Christ and his church.
- 1:00:11That's the hope we have right? That is the hope we have.
- 1:00:14Thank you guys so much for listening to this episode of the
