- 0:01Speaker 1: When you go into a voting place like you go
- 0:04Speaker 1: into in a properly run state, they look at you,
- 0:08Speaker 1: they give you, give voter ID, you give all sorts
- 0:11Speaker 1: of identification. I mean, it would be very hard to
- 0:14Speaker 1: cheat in Amaska. When you send out minions like California,
- 0:17Speaker 1: I think they send out thirty six million ballots. They
- 0:20Speaker 1: don't have a voting booth in the whole place, And
- 0:23Speaker 1: then minions of ballots come back. Nobody knows where they're
- 0:25Speaker 1: coming from it.
- 0:26Speaker 2: But what are you gonna do about it? The way
- 0:28Speaker 2: you win.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Is by swamping them.
- 0:30Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Good Wednesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:36Speaker 4: the forty seven Morning Updating. We've got two big stories
- 0:38Speaker 4: for you this morning. Donald Trump warned us that there
- 0:41Speaker 4: were far too many illegal immigrants in this country and
- 0:44Speaker 4: they were costing Americans or lives. We now know that
- 0:48Speaker 4: an illegal alien truck driver was behind the fatal U
- 0:51Speaker 4: turn that has gone viral, and he actually failed the
- 0:55Speaker 4: English language tests and could only identify a single highway
- 1:01Speaker 4: traffic sign.
- 1:02Speaker 2: So how did he get his CDL.
- 1:05Speaker 4: We'll tell you this pathetic story of leadership and how
- 1:08Speaker 4: it involves Democrats in power. Plus, in a major move,
- 1:12Speaker 4: President Trump is now pledging to end mail in ballots
- 1:17Speaker 4: and voting machines ahead of the twenty twenty six midterms
- 1:21Speaker 4: through an executive order. Will this hold up or is
- 1:24Speaker 4: the President advocating for a fight in the court system
- 1:27Speaker 4: to protect our elections on purpose?
- 1:30Speaker 2: I'll break that down as well.
- 1:32Speaker 4: But first let me tell you about Krocket Coffee. If
- 1:35Speaker 4: you drink coffee like I do, I drink it every day.
- 1:38Speaker 4: I want a great cup of coffee. Well, my good
- 1:41Speaker 4: friends Klay Travis and Buck Sexton decided to start a
- 1:45Speaker 4: company that only did small batch, premium coffee. Small batch
- 1:50Speaker 4: roasted coffee is just another level of incredible, amazing, smooth
- 1:57Speaker 4: coffee that if you've never tried it before, you've got
- 2:00Speaker 4: to do it because every cup is premium. It's not average,
- 2:04Speaker 4: it's not even good. It's amazing coffee. Crockett Coffee they
- 2:09Speaker 4: do this in small batches, and there is no need
- 2:12Speaker 4: to give your money to the woke liberal coffee brands
- 2:15Speaker 4: that are out there, because my good friends, that's part
- 2:18Speaker 4: of the reason why they start this company. They are
- 2:21Speaker 4: sick and tired of giving their money to companies and
- 2:23Speaker 4: hate our values, and they said, hey, we can do
- 2:26Speaker 4: this and do it better than anybody else. Now you
- 2:29Speaker 4: at Crockett Coffee, you can choose between fresh ground or
- 2:32Speaker 4: whole bean or ca cups. You choose, And if you're
- 2:35Speaker 4: interested in mushroom coffee and the positive benefits that come
- 2:38Speaker 4: with enjoying that each day, Crockett Coffee is now producing
- 2:41Speaker 4: that as well. They've got dark rows, miiled roast, a
- 2:44Speaker 4: light roast, even a decaf version, and a mushroom organic blend.
- 2:48Speaker 4: You chreuse what you like, and I'm going to save
- 2:51Speaker 4: you money to try Crockett Coffee. Right now, you can

- 3:28Speaker 4: and get the best cup of coffee you've ever had.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Each and every day. It's a forty seven morning Update,
- 3:34Speaker 2: and it starts right now.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 3:36Speaker 4: An illegal truck driver behind a fatal U turn failed
- 3:41Speaker 4: the English language tests we're now finding out. At mile
- 3:45Speaker 4: marker one seventy on the Florida Turnpike, a semi truck
- 3:49Speaker 4: driver executed an illegal U turn in an area designated
- 3:52Speaker 4: quote official use only. It has caused a fatal collision
- 3:56Speaker 4: and three fatalities in a Chrysler Town and Country Treay
- 4:00Speaker 4: minivan were killed a thirty seven year old woman, a
- 4:03Speaker 4: thirty year old man, and a fifty four year old
- 4:06Speaker 4: man from Miami. The truck driver is, unfortunately where the
- 4:10Speaker 4: tragic story begins, identified as a twenty eight year old
- 4:14Speaker 4: Indian national living illegally in the United States of America.
- 4:19Speaker 4: He entered the country in twenty eighteen, reportedly via Mexico,
- 4:24Speaker 4: and was actually granted a work permit in June of
- 4:27Speaker 4: twenty twenty one after an earlier denial under the Trump administration,
- 4:33Speaker 4: meaning Joe Biden allowed this to happen. We also are
- 4:37Speaker 4: finding out more about the licensing details of the illegal immigrant.
- 4:41Speaker 4: The man literally held a CDL, a commercial driver's license,
- 4:45Speaker 4: something that is supposed to be hard to get, but
- 4:48Speaker 4: it wasn't for this illegal immigrant because he went to
- 4:51Speaker 4: a sanctuary state and it was issued by California, one
- 4:54Speaker 4: of nineteen states plus DC that will actually grant cdl's
- 5:00Speaker 4: regardless of immigration status. That is why we would refer
- 5:04Speaker 4: to them as a sanctuary state. Federal testing after the
- 5:08Speaker 4: crash revealed that the man failed to properly interpret basic
- 5:14Speaker 4: English instructions and road signs. He answered only two of
- 5:18Speaker 4: twelve English questions correctly and identified just one of ford
- 5:23Speaker 4: traffic signs correctly. Legal charges are also going to take place,
- 5:28Speaker 4: but the damage has already been done. The driver now
- 5:31Speaker 4: faces three counts of vehicular homicide and immigration violations. An
- 5:37Speaker 4: ICE detainer has been issued and federal authorities are requesting
- 5:40Speaker 4: as transfer once state proceedings conclude. We also had these
- 5:44Speaker 4: shocking video evidence that went viral. The dashcam footage from
- 5:49Speaker 4: inside the truck capturing the illegal maneuver and ensuing crash
- 5:53Speaker 4: had surfaced and circulated widely, also showing a man that
- 5:56Speaker 4: really didn't seem to care much that he had just
- 5:59Speaker 4: taken the lives three individuals. Now the legal and political
- 6:03Speaker 4: fallout is even bigger. In Florida, each count of ike
- 6:06Speaker 4: your Homicide can carry up to fifteen years, meaning the
- 6:10Speaker 4: maximum of forty five years in prison if he is
- 6:13Speaker 4: convicted on all three. Prosecutors also must prove recklessness and
- 6:18Speaker 4: not just negligence to receive that sentence. Federal state crash
- 6:24Speaker 4: is also another part of the problem here, also the
- 6:26Speaker 4: question of federal and state and what's going to happen there.
- 6:30Speaker 4: The Department of Homeland Security criticize California's licensing policies, calling
- 6:35Speaker 4: it asinine, while California officials and legal experts countered that
- 6:40Speaker 4: the man had quote a valid visa and work permit
- 6:44Speaker 4: when he received his license, validating compliance with legal requirements,
- 6:49Speaker 4: even though apparently couldn't even read the basic road signs.
- 6:52Speaker 4: And then there's the bigger question how many more are
- 6:55Speaker 4: out there on the roadways who have been given CDLs
- 6:58Speaker 4: who can't speak English and don't know what the signs
- 7:01Speaker 4: say on the roads they're driving with an eighteen wheeler.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Public reaction is going to play a large part in this.
- 7:08Speaker 4: The incident has sparked intense backlash, fueling political debate over
- 7:13Speaker 4: sanctuary state policies and also these states that are permitting
- 7:16Speaker 4: undocumented illegal immigrants to obtain CDLs. California Governor Gavin Newsom
- 7:23Speaker 4: is also facing particularly sharp criticism over the entire episode. So,
- 7:29Speaker 4: if you look at it and step back, here's the takeaway.
- 7:32Speaker 4: You have a semi truck driver who killed three Americans
- 7:35Speaker 4: while making an illegal U turn in Florida, failed an
- 7:37Speaker 4: English language proficiency test and also failed to accurately identify
- 7:41Speaker 4: highway traffic signs. In the press release from the Department
- 7:45Speaker 4: of Transportation, it was revealed that officials of the Federal
- 7:48Speaker 4: Motor Carrier Safety Administration had launched an investigation into the
- 7:52Speaker 4: deadly crash in Florida. During the interview with the driver,
- 7:56Speaker 4: they are now saying publicly who has been identified investigators
- 7:59Speaker 4: at MENA at a English language proficiency assessment, he failed
- 8:04Speaker 4: the assessment and only provided quote correct answers to just
- 8:07Speaker 4: two of twelve verbal questions. And again, as I mentioned earlier,
- 8:11Speaker 4: the report now states he only accurately identified one of
- 8:14Speaker 4: four highway traffic signs. It states that he had he
- 8:17Speaker 4: followed the rules. This driver would have never been behind
- 8:20Speaker 4: the wheel, and the three precious lives would still be
- 8:23Speaker 4: with US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy saying in a statement,
- 8:28Speaker 4: quote this crash was a preventable tragedy directly caused by
- 8:33Speaker 4: reckless decisions and compounded by despicable failures. Non enforcement and
- 8:38Speaker 4: radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a
- 8:42Speaker 4: lawless frontier, resulting, he says, in unqualified foreign drivers improperly
- 8:48Speaker 4: acquiring licenses to operate forty ton vehicles. The press release
- 8:53Speaker 4: from Sean Duffy, Transportation Secretary, also revealed that on July
- 8:58Speaker 4: the fifteenth of twenty twenty three, Washington State, we are
- 9:01Speaker 4: now being told, issued the man a quote regular full
- 9:05Speaker 4: term commercial driver's license, and then on July twenty third
- 9:09Speaker 4: of twenty twenty four, the driver was issued a limited
- 9:13Speaker 4: term slash CDL in California as well. So the federal
- 9:17Speaker 4: investigators administering all of this, and they know that this
- 9:21Speaker 4: guy can't speak English, doesn't know the signs, and then
- 9:24Speaker 4: killed three people, and yet Democrats are still defending the
- 9:28Speaker 4: practice of giving illegal immigrants CDL licenses to drive eighteen
- 9:33Speaker 4: millers in America. There's no doubt that Sean Duffy and
- 9:36Speaker 4: the Trump administration are gonna do everything they can to
- 9:39Speaker 4: make sure this stops happening, especially in light.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Of what we just witnessed now story number two.
- 9:46Speaker 4: You may remember during the campaign, Donald Trump said that
- 9:50Speaker 4: if you elected him, he was going to look into
- 9:53Speaker 4: voter election integrity and he was wanting to get rid
- 9:56Speaker 4: of mail in ballots. Now that has made the left
- 10:00Speaker 4: lose their minds. Why, because we have now witnessed even
- 10:03Speaker 4: recently local elected officials stuffing the ballot box. It happened
- 10:08Speaker 4: to be the mailbox with mail in ballots that obviously
- 10:12Speaker 4: were not from the people that they were setting them
- 10:14Speaker 4: in on their behalf. Well, now Donald Trump has pledged
- 10:17Speaker 4: to end mail in ballots and voting machines ahead of
- 10:21Speaker 4: the twenty twenty six midterms, making big news with the announcement,
- 10:25Speaker 4: President Trump announcing he intends to sign an executive order
- 10:29Speaker 4: banning the use of mail in ballots and electronic voting
- 10:31Speaker 4: machines in federal elections, setting the stage for a fierce
- 10:35Speaker 4: political and legal battle ahead.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Of the twenty twenty six midterms.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Now, this move, Trump argued, is quote necessary to restore
- 10:43Speaker 4: public confidence in American elections, which he says have been
- 10:47Speaker 4: plagued by fraud, mismanagement, and manipulation since the rapid expansion
- 10:53Speaker 4: of vote by mail and the widespread adoption of computerized
- 10:57Speaker 4: voting systems. Quote, I am going to a movement to
- 11:00Speaker 4: get rid of mail in ballots and also, while we're
- 11:03Speaker 4: at it, highly inaccurate, very expensive, and seriously controversial voting machines,
- 11:08Speaker 4: Trump wrote in a true social post. Elections, by the way,
- 11:12Speaker 4: the United States are primarily run by state governments, not Washington.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Legal experts are noting that there could be a real
- 11:19Speaker 4: problem and a fight, obviously, a fight that Donald Trump
- 11:22Speaker 4: has no problem having, and that fight would be over
- 11:26Speaker 4: constitution and who actually has the authority. Yes, the Constitution
- 11:30Speaker 4: gives states the authority to administer elections, with Congress, not
- 11:34Speaker 4: the President, holding limited power to quote regulate them. One
- 11:38Speaker 4: liberal law professor at New York University put it this way,
- 11:41Speaker 4: quote the president has no power constitutionally to dictate two
- 11:45Speaker 4: states the manner in which they conduct national elections. Still,
- 11:48Speaker 4: Donald Trump in says that states act as agents of
- 11:52Speaker 4: the federal government when conducting elections and therefore must follow
- 11:55Speaker 4: the presidential direction. That claim is clearly a test that
- 11:59Speaker 4: the it's more than happy to happen, and that's exactly
- 12:02Speaker 4: why he's wanting to do the executive order. He obviously
- 12:05Speaker 4: is planning on it going to court now. Conservative liberals
- 12:08Speaker 4: have long raised alarms about electronic voting machines.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Let me say that again.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Conservatives and liberals have been raising alarms about the electronic
- 12:17Speaker 4: voting machines, which rely on proprietary software and digital tabulation
- 12:22Speaker 4: of the votes. In fact, critics on both sides of
- 12:25Speaker 4: the aisle have actually argued the same thing, that these machines,
- 12:29Speaker 4: produced by a handful of private companies, are vulnerable to hacking,
- 12:33Speaker 4: miss programming, or even deliberate tampering. Now, while election officials
- 12:38Speaker 4: insist that voting machines are more accurate than handcounts, skeptics
- 12:43Speaker 4: point to high profile erarors in passed elections, such as
- 12:47Speaker 4: miss reported totals and technical breakdowns that left voters frustrated
- 12:51Speaker 4: wondering if their votes were even counted. In fact, Democrats
- 12:55Speaker 4: have been critical of electronic voting machines and ravit times
- 13:00Speaker 4: raised significant concerns about their reliability and also security. A
- 13:05Speaker 4: great example of this is in Georgia, leading Democrats criticize
- 13:09Speaker 4: the state's decision to use dominion ballot marking devices, arguing
- 13:14Speaker 4: they were vulnerable to tampering and lack the transparency of
- 13:18Speaker 4: hand marked paper ballots. Lawsuits were filed seeking to block
- 13:21Speaker 4: their use, with election security advocates pointing to risks of
- 13:25Speaker 4: hacking and also just basic software flaws. In fact, the
- 13:29Speaker 4: twenty twenty HBO documentary Killed Chain, the cyber War in
- 13:33Speaker 4: America's elections highlighted potential vulnerabilities and computerized voting, featuring interviews
- 13:39Speaker 4: with security experts who warned the machines could be manipulated
- 13:43Speaker 4: and most shockingly, leave elections open to interference. Together, democratic lawmakers,
- 13:50Speaker 4: advocacy groups, and investigative media have question whether technology base
- 13:55Speaker 4: voting undermines public trust. Let me say that again, this
- 13:58Speaker 4: is democratic law makers that have been doing this. They
- 14:01Speaker 4: were also pressing for greater reliance on paper ballots and
- 14:05Speaker 4: robust auditing. So why now would Democrats be against what
- 14:10Speaker 4: they've been advocating for. It actually comes down to one
- 14:13Speaker 4: simple issue. They hate Donald Trump, and they also don't
- 14:17Speaker 4: want admit that maybe Donald Trump is right about a
- 14:20Speaker 4: lot of this issue When it comes to election integrity,
- 14:23Speaker 4: as to the president. He says he wants transparency. He
- 14:27Speaker 4: wants hand counted paper ballots, even if it's slower, to
- 14:31Speaker 4: make sure that our elections are meaningful, that people feel
- 14:35Speaker 4: like their ballots are being casted and not canceled out
- 14:38Speaker 4: by a hacker or a computer. Yes, it may even
- 14:41Speaker 4: cost a little bit more money, but is it worth
- 14:44Speaker 4: it to know that your vote counts. That's exactly what
- 14:47Speaker 4: the President's saying and the legal fight he's wanting to have.
