Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:01Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Ted Cruz and our Week in
- 0:04Speaker 2: review Ben Ferguson with you, and we had some major
- 0:07Speaker 2: stories this week. You may have missed them, and I
- 0:09Speaker 2: want to get you up to date. First up, Biden
- 0:12Speaker 2: wants more illegals to come in to this country by
- 0:16Speaker 2: loosening policies before Donald Trump is inaugurated on January the twentieth.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Why is he doing it?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Clearly trying to create an immigration dumpster fire for Donald
- 0:26Speaker 2: Trump and the administration obviously not listening to the American people. Also,
- 0:32Speaker 2: Joe Biden is celebrating the Rose Garden the Israel cease fire. Well,
- 0:38Speaker 2: why did it actually happen? Well, it was because he
- 0:40Speaker 2: abandoned our ally and refused to send the weapons that
- 0:45Speaker 2: Israel needed. And finally, anti Semitism out of control on
- 0:49Speaker 2: college campuses for the last year. So now will things
- 0:53Speaker 2: change and will they reverse course because Trump has become president.
- 0:58Speaker 2: We're going to talk about all of it. It's a
- 1:00Speaker 2: Week in review and it starts right now. There is
- 1:03Speaker 2: like two dumpster fires that seem to be happening simultaneously
- 1:08Speaker 2: with the Biden administration, his team around him, and I
- 1:11Speaker 2: think Americans should be incredibly angry over this for the
- 1:14Speaker 2: fact that they're clearly saying, we know we lost the election,
- 1:17Speaker 2: we know you chose a different path, but we're gonna
- 1:20Speaker 2: stick it to the American people and also stick it
- 1:22Speaker 2: to the Trump administration. Biden has decided, at the very
- 1:26Speaker 2: end of his administration not respecting the voters when one
- 1:29Speaker 2: of their top issues was border security, to loose in
- 1:34Speaker 2: key migrant policies quote unquote right before you go into
- 1:39Speaker 2: December January and until January twentieth, when obviously Donald Trump
- 1:44Speaker 2: would undo all of this.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I think it is absolutely clear that both Biden and
- 1:48Speaker 3: Harris want Trump to fail. They want the problems in
- 1:52Speaker 3: this country to get worse, and they want to make
- 1:56Speaker 3: sure that that Donald Trump inherits the worst stinking pile
- 2:01Speaker 3: of crap possible. So you look at challenges at home
- 2:05Speaker 3: and abroad. At home, the greatest domestic challenge we have
- 2:09Speaker 3: is the open borders that Joe Biden Kamala Harris put
- 2:12Speaker 3: in place. Abroad, the greatest challenge we have are the
- 2:14Speaker 3: wars that are unfolding because of Joe Biden Kamala Harris's weakness. Domestically,
- 2:20Speaker 3: what are they doing well, Apparently neither Biden nor Harris
- 2:23Speaker 3: learned a damn thing from the election. They didn't hear
- 2:26Speaker 3: from the voters that they don't want an open border,
- 2:28Speaker 3: they don't want this invasion. So instead they're doubling down,
- 2:32Speaker 3: and they're trying to make it harder for Trump to
- 2:36Speaker 3: come in with the new administration, secure the border and
- 2:39Speaker 3: remove dangerous criminal illegal aliens. Take a listen to this
- 2:42Speaker 3: reporting on Fox about what specifically the Biden administration is doing, Sandra.
- 2:48Speaker 4: The Biden administration is quietly loosening immigration policies before Trump
- 2:53Speaker 4: takes offense. This according to The New York Post. It reports,
- 2:57Speaker 4: the administration is testing a new app that will allow
- 3:00Speaker 4: illegal migrants to bypass in person check ins at their
- 3:05Speaker 4: local ice office. Jeff Paul is Live with More. It
- 3:09Speaker 4: sounds like they're just given Donald Trump one more thing
- 3:12Speaker 4: to undo.
- 3:14Speaker 5: Well, joh we do know the Biden administration has been
- 3:16Speaker 5: testing this new immigration in Customs app, and the idea
- 3:20Speaker 5: is to streamline the check in process for migrants, allow
- 3:23Speaker 5: them to use their phones or computers to touch base
- 3:26Speaker 5: with immigration officials while they wait for their date in court,
- 3:29Speaker 5: instead of appearing for those check ins in person. Now,
- 3:33Speaker 5: a source tells Fox News. Ice has been using the
- 3:35Speaker 5: app already in a couple of cities, but according to
- 3:37Speaker 5: the New York Post, it's going to be launched officially
- 3:40Speaker 5: next month in New York City. The field office there
- 3:44Speaker 5: reportedly has been overwhelmed, fully booked with appointments for a year.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Our sources tell us that's really the push to get
- 3:50Speaker 5: this backlogged moved through. The concerns regarding this app. Obviously,
- 3:54Speaker 5: it's a new app, so there's going to be some glitches.
- 3:57Speaker 5: The other wider concern is could it cause even more
- 4:00Speaker 5: migrants to go under the radar. We'll have to see
- 4:02Speaker 5: what happens.
- 4:03Speaker 6: John.
- 4:04Speaker 2: There's also some major issues in the reporting with this app.
- 4:07Speaker 2: For example, the app reportedly has severe glitches and issues
- 4:12Speaker 2: and does not track a migrants location if he or
- 4:15Speaker 2: she is using an Android phone or laptop. So, hey,
- 4:18Speaker 2: if you're a legal immigrant, just don't use an iPhone
- 4:21Speaker 2: and they won't be able to track you. The app
- 4:22Speaker 2: also does not check migrants for pass arrests or outstanding warrants,
- 4:27Speaker 2: which is what they do now currently, and so that's
- 4:30Speaker 2: another problem.
- 4:31Speaker 1: They say. The app allows them to opt.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Out of the the contest government orders to undergo electronic tracking,
- 4:37Speaker 2: so you can just say no, I don't want to
- 4:38Speaker 2: be tracked.
- 4:39Speaker 1: There's no way to find you.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And they know all of these glitches are in here,
- 4:42Speaker 2: and yet they're going, yes, we should move forward with this,
- 4:45Speaker 2: knowing that Donald Trump's going to undo it.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Well, understand, the problem is not just that Donald Trump's
- 4:50Speaker 3: gonna undo it, but the Biden administration is trying to
- 4:53Speaker 3: make it harder to find these illegal immigrants. Why would
- 4:56Speaker 3: you say, Hey, you don't have to check in in person. Hey,
- 4:59Speaker 3: you can check in on any app that doesn't track
- 5:00Speaker 3: your location, if you're on an Android for it. Hey,
- 5:03Speaker 3: you can check in in a way that we're not
- 5:04Speaker 3: going to find out if you've been arrested, if you
- 5:06Speaker 3: have a warrant. This is all designed to help illegal
- 5:10Speaker 3: immigrants go underground because Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and let's
- 5:14Speaker 3: be clear, every Democrat in the House and Senate. You
- 5:16Speaker 3: don't hear any of the Democrats speaking out of it
- 5:18Speaker 3: against this. None of them are saying this is wrong,
- 5:21Speaker 3: don't do this. This is designed to make it more
- 5:24Speaker 3: difficult for the incoming administration to find illegal immigrants and
- 5:28Speaker 3: to arrest illegal immigrants and to deport illegal immigrants. That
- 5:31Speaker 3: includes the convicted murderers that have been released by this administration,
- 5:36Speaker 3: the convicted rapists, the convicted child molesters. You look at,
- 5:40Speaker 3: twenty twenty three set the record for the highest number
- 5:44Speaker 3: of illegal immigrants entering the country in a single year,
- 5:47Speaker 3: three point two million. And Joe Biden and Kamala Harris
- 5:51Speaker 3: they don't want those illegal immigrants removed from this country.
- 5:55Speaker 3: They see them as future Democrat voters. This is all
- 5:57Speaker 3: about power, and I got to say say it is stunning.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Well here, I want you to take a look at this,
- 6:05Speaker 3: this tweet from Bill Malusion that lays out some of
- 6:08Speaker 3: the numbers. And for those of y'all that are listening,
- 6:10Speaker 3: I'm going to read it to you. This is what
- 6:11Speaker 3: Bill Malugin tweeted. New per US official to Fox News.
- 6:15Speaker 3: There are currently one point four million illegal immigrants in
- 6:19Speaker 3: the US who have been ordered deported by a DOJ
- 6:21Speaker 3: immigration judge but haven't been removed yet.
- 6:25Speaker 2: So that's, by the way, if people want to know
- 6:26Speaker 2: where Trump's going to start, I think Bill Malugin's tweet
- 6:29Speaker 2: is a great reminder. There are one point four million
- 6:32Speaker 2: illegal immigrants US have been ordered to be deported. So
- 6:35Speaker 2: if you want to know where they're going to start,
- 6:37Speaker 2: this is where they would start.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm told approximately thirteen thousand of them are being
- 6:41Speaker 3: held in ice custody, So out of one point four million,
- 6:44Speaker 3: only thirteen thousand are in custody. The population of one
- 6:47Speaker 3: point four million illegal immigrants have final orders of removal,
- 6:52Speaker 3: meaning they have had their immigration cases heard, receive their
- 6:55Speaker 3: due process, and have been ordered removed from the US
- 6:58Speaker 3: by a DOJ fed immigration judge. A fraction of them
- 7:03Speaker 3: may still have appeal options available to them and may
- 7:05Speaker 3: not yet be removable. With only thirteen thousand in federalized custody,
- 7:11Speaker 3: we are potentially looking at a lot of people roaming
- 7:13Speaker 3: around the country who are in the US illegally and
- 7:15Speaker 3: who have been ordered removed. It is impossible to know
- 7:20Speaker 3: how many of them may be in state or local custodies.
- 7:24Speaker 3: That one point four million, You're right, is exactly where
- 7:27Speaker 3: I expect the Trump administration to start. I also expect
- 7:29Speaker 3: them to start with the five hundred thousand convicted criminals,
- 7:33Speaker 3: those with other criminal convictions murder, rape, child molestation, who
- 7:37Speaker 3: are illegal immigrants who are released to go and apprehend
- 7:40Speaker 3: the criminals, go after the murderers, the rapists, the child molesters,
- 7:44Speaker 3: go after the Venezuelan gang members. If you're a Venezuelan
- 7:47Speaker 3: gang member, my advice is pack up and move out
- 7:50Speaker 3: right now, because we're coming for you. That this administration
- 7:54Speaker 3: is going to arrest you, They're going to remove you,
- 7:56Speaker 3: they're going to deport you, that if you've committed criminal offenses,
- 7:59Speaker 3: they're going to put.
- 7:59Speaker 1: You in jail.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Let's talk about the tone death aspect of this, and
- 8:03Speaker 2: I say tone death, some people would care.
- 8:06Speaker 1: They don't seem to care. Referring to Biden administration.
- 8:09Speaker 2: You just had a trial that was watched in Georgia
- 8:13Speaker 2: of an incredible young lady who fought for a life
- 8:16Speaker 2: for eighteen minutes. Eighteen minutes she was fighting to save
- 8:20Speaker 2: her own life. She was ultimately killed by an league
- 8:23Speaker 2: lmmgrant that we were paying for the hotel rooms, we
- 8:25Speaker 2: were flying him from New York to Georgia, and we're
- 8:29Speaker 2: allowing him to be able to kill this incredible student
- 8:32Speaker 2: in nursing school. And yet the response from this administration is, yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 2: we're gonna keep facilitating that and do it on an
- 8:39Speaker 2: app and make sure we can't track people for the
- 8:42Speaker 2: next seventy days, because well, we're sorry that you guys
- 8:45Speaker 2: picked Donald Trump and you wanted security.
- 8:47Speaker 1: We're not going to give that to you.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Well, it's even worse than that. The attitude of a
- 8:52Speaker 3: great many Democrats is massive resistance. It is reminiscent of
- 8:57Speaker 3: Bull connor during the Civil rights battles. O'Connor was an
- 9:00Speaker 3: elected Democrat who did not want to follow the law
- 9:04Speaker 3: and was defying the law, and he was bitterly angry.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I want you to give a listen to a modern
- 9:10Speaker 3: day Bull Connor, which is the Democrat mayor of the
- 9:13Speaker 3: city of Denver. Give a listen to what he has
- 9:15Speaker 3: to say.
- 9:15Speaker 7: About civil disobedience. You've mentioned that a couple of times now.
- 9:18Speaker 7: Would you be willing to participate in those as the
- 9:21Speaker 7: mayor of Denver? Would you be willing to go out
- 9:22Speaker 7: and protest these things?
- 9:23Speaker 8: I would if I believe that our residents are having
- 9:26Speaker 8: their rights violate. If I think things are happening that
- 9:28Speaker 8: are illegal or immoral or an American in our city,
- 9:32Speaker 8: I would certainly protest it, and I would expect other
- 9:34Speaker 8: residents would do the same.
- 9:35Speaker 7: Trump's new borders are Tom Homan has said that he
- 9:38Speaker 7: is willing to arrest leaders like yourself for standing in
- 9:44Speaker 7: the way of these policies that they want to enact.
- 9:47Speaker 7: Would you be willing to go to jail for these things?
- 9:49Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm not afraid of that, and I'm also not
- 9:51Speaker 8: seeking that. I think the goal is we want to
- 9:53Speaker 8: be able to negotiate with reasonable people how to solve
- 9:57Speaker 8: hard problems for publican and democratic presence in the past
- 10:00Speaker 8: have all tried to find solutions to these problems. President
- 10:02Speaker 8: Reagan help people get access to work so they could
- 10:04Speaker 8: stay and support themselves. Biden Harris worked on restricting entry
- 10:07Speaker 8: at the border to close down There are a lot
- 10:08Speaker 8: of ways to approach this problem. We don't think it
- 10:10Speaker 8: has to come to this, but yeah, I think when
- 10:12Speaker 8: you look at you know, Ralph Carr has always been
- 10:14Speaker 8: one of my heroes. He was the governor who in
- 10:16Speaker 8: the middle of the interment of Japanese Americans said this
- 10:18Speaker 8: was the wrong thing to do, and he stood up.
- 10:20Speaker 8: It was unpopular, people were mad at about it. That
- 10:22Speaker 8: was the middle of a wartime. If the president or
- 10:25Speaker 8: any of his actors are going to do things that
- 10:26Speaker 8: we think are illegal or immoral or an American we'll
- 10:29Speaker 8: stand up against those.
- 10:30Speaker 1: It's amazing how the law doesn't matter.
- 10:32Speaker 2: He just said, well, if it's the thing I think
- 10:33Speaker 2: is immoral, then I'm going to just say I'm not
- 10:35Speaker 2: going to follow the law. That's clearly and they want
- 10:39Speaker 2: to become martyrs, they want to become famous. He's enjoying
- 10:41Speaker 2: this moment. Please put me in handcuffs, make me a martyr.
- 10:44Speaker 2: And I'm saying that we are still a sanctuary city.
- 10:47Speaker 3: So understand, the mayor of Denver is the modern day
- 10:51Speaker 3: Bull Connor. He is standing at the courthouse saying I
- 10:56Speaker 3: will block federal law. I will not follow federal law
- 11:00Speaker 3: because my politics, my prejudices. It's interesting he referenced Japanese
- 11:05Speaker 3: internment camps. Who was it that ordered Japanese internment camps?
- 11:08Speaker 3: That was a Democrat president.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Fdr.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You want to talk about patterns of lawlessness, The Democrat
- 11:13Speaker 3: Party has over a century of history of lawlessness. And
- 11:18Speaker 3: I'm going to call for something right now. So the
- 11:21Speaker 3: mayor of Denvers said, we want illegal immigrants in our city.
- 11:24Speaker 3: We will fight to keep illegal immigrants in our city.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I don't care that the voters don't want it. I
- 11:28Speaker 3: don't care what federal law says. I don't care about
- 11:31Speaker 3: the women being murdered, the women being raped, the children
- 11:33Speaker 3: being assaulted. I'm going to call right now for Greg Abbott,
- 11:37Speaker 3: the governor of Texas, for Ron de Santis, the governor
- 11:40Speaker 3: of Florida, for any other red governor to start sending
- 11:43Speaker 3: buses to Denver, Colorado. Mayor of Denver wants illegal immigrants. Well,
- 11:49Speaker 3: you know what, Joe Biden. One of the lies that
- 11:51Speaker 3: mayor just said is well Biden and Harris tightened the
- 11:54Speaker 3: standards at the border.
- 11:55Speaker 1: That is called a lie.
- 11:56Speaker 3: They didn't tighten the standard. They open up the border.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Texas is being in right now, and I'm going to
- 12:03Speaker 3: urge the state government of Texas send every one of
- 12:05Speaker 3: the illegals who comes into the state to Denver, Colorado,
- 12:08Speaker 3: drop them off in front of the mayor's residence. He
- 12:12Speaker 3: wants them there. He's willing to go to jail to
- 12:14Speaker 3: fight for them to be there. Fine, we will send
- 12:17Speaker 3: you the Venezuelan gang members to your city and let's see.
- 12:21Speaker 3: You know, I'm going to predict right now the residents
- 12:24Speaker 3: of Denver aren't going to like this. I'm going to
- 12:25Speaker 3: predict right now, what is.
- 12:27Speaker 1: A tipping point?
- 12:27Speaker 2: That was the question was going to ask you because
- 12:29Speaker 2: it is in Colorado where we've seen these gangs from
- 12:32Speaker 2: Venezuela take over apartment complexes.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Aurora, Colorado. And by the way, ABC, the corporate media
- 12:38Speaker 3: just said, well, it was only a handful of apartment complexes. Well,
- 12:40Speaker 3: you know, you know what, We'll send a few more
- 12:43Speaker 3: and let us know when you would like us to stop,
- 12:46Speaker 3: because you're so proud see today's Democrat. They don't fight
- 12:51Speaker 3: for American citizens, they fight for illegal immigrants. They fight
- 12:54Speaker 3: for Venezuelan gang members. They want more of them there. Well,
- 12:58Speaker 3: I'm happy to remove them from the state of Texas
- 13:00Speaker 3: that removed them from Florida, to remove them from other
- 13:02Speaker 3: red states and guess what, they can all learn to
- 13:06Speaker 3: be skipros.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 13:10Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 13:13Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, Sanata,
- 13:18Speaker 2: let me ask you another question about the Also, when
- 13:21Speaker 2: it comes to the timing of this there was Israel
- 13:24Speaker 2: wanted to make it clear they feel like the Biden
- 13:27Speaker 2: administration completely abandoned them and their leadership, which was to
- 13:34Speaker 2: force them into a ceasefire. Israeli government spokesman went on
- 13:39Speaker 2: MSNBC and this is what he.
- 13:42Speaker 9: Said on that potential ceasefire deal joining US now. Israeli
- 13:45Speaker 9: government spokesman in the Office of the Prime Minister, David Menser,
- 13:48Speaker 9: really good to have you. Thank you for being with us.
- 13:50Speaker 10: Is this a.
- 13:51Speaker 9: Permanent deal or a temporary deal?
- 13:53Speaker 11: The lens of the five depends on what happens inside Lebanon.
- 13:58Speaker 11: We will certainly from Israel's twenty you adhere to the agreement,
- 14:01Speaker 11: but we will also insist on the agreement being enforced.
- 14:06Speaker 10: We will respond forcefully to any violation.
- 14:10Speaker 11: So with the US is understanding, we will maintain the
- 14:14Speaker 11: full freedom of military action. Yes, of course, we want
- 14:17Speaker 11: our people to go home to their homes in sovereign
- 14:21Speaker 11: Israeli territory.
- 14:22Speaker 1: But if.
- 14:23Speaker 11: Violates the agreement and tries to rearm, we will attack.
- 14:28Speaker 11: If it tries to rebuild its terrorist infratrack infrastructure near
- 14:31Speaker 11: the border, we will attack.
- 14:33Speaker 10: And the Prime Minister has made crystal clear.
- 14:35Speaker 11: If it launches rockets, if it digs tunnels, if it
- 14:39Speaker 11: brings in truckloads of rockets, we will attack. We all
- 14:45Speaker 11: want peace in this region, no one more than Israel,
- 14:47Speaker 11: but we will respond forcibly to any violation of disagreement.
- 14:52Speaker 9: Does that go for the other side as well? If
- 14:54Speaker 9: Israel comes back and rearms itself and resets for a
- 14:59Speaker 9: possible future escalation, possible future escalation in Lebanon, is that
- 15:04Speaker 9: a violation of the agreement?
- 15:05Speaker 1: I just kind of stop and get your reaction to that.
- 15:08Speaker 2: It's amazing how the media here is acting like Israel
- 15:11Speaker 2: is a terrorist organization. They should be held to the
- 15:13Speaker 2: same standards as a terrorist organization, Like, well, hold on
- 15:16Speaker 2: a second, if you're gonna hold terrorist's standards Israel, are
- 15:20Speaker 2: you guys gonna not arm yourself again? Israel is doing
- 15:25Speaker 2: this in a defensive manner because they've been attacked from
- 15:27Speaker 2: all sides, and yet NBC is asking a question like
- 15:30Speaker 2: they're a terrorist group.
- 15:32Speaker 3: That may be the most astonishing question I've ever heard
- 15:34Speaker 3: a reporter say in my life. I want you to
- 15:37Speaker 3: play that play just the final question again. I want
- 15:40Speaker 3: you to hear it, because this is staggering that this
- 15:44Speaker 3: is Do you have the name of this reporter?
- 15:46Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:46Speaker 2: This is on Katie Tour's show NBC slash MSNBC. And
- 15:52Speaker 2: again here's that question as she acts like Israel's a
- 15:55Speaker 2: terrorist organization.
- 15:57Speaker 9: Does that go for the other side as well? If
- 15:59Speaker 9: Israel comes back and rearms itself and resets for a
- 16:03Speaker 9: possible future escalation, possible future escalation in Lebanon, is that
- 16:08Speaker 9: a violation of the agreement?
- 16:10Speaker 2: I mean, people wonder why the media no one has
- 16:14Speaker 2: any faith in them anymore?
- 16:16Speaker 3: And understand, Katie Tuur was a star reporter for NBC.
- 16:21Speaker 3: She was embedded with the Trump campaign in twenty sixteen.
- 16:25Speaker 3: She now has her own show on MSNBC. And what
- 16:28Speaker 3: an absurd question is the agreement violated if Israel re
- 16:34Speaker 3: arms itself, Katie, Israel is a sovereign nation. Israel is
- 16:38Speaker 3: entitled to defend itself. There's nothing in this agreement. I mean,
- 16:42Speaker 3: listen to the idiocy of well, doesn't this agreement say
- 16:45Speaker 3: that Israel cannot have an army, can't defend itself, has
- 16:48Speaker 3: to be utterly defenseless. Why, Well, they committed the horrible
- 16:52Speaker 3: crime of existing when Hamas came in and murdered twelve
- 16:56Speaker 3: hundred innocent civilians. Like there is a reason that we
- 17:01Speaker 3: did an episode early on after October seventh. That's actually
- 17:03Speaker 3: one of my favorite episodes entitled CNN is Hamas's Air
- 17:08Speaker 3: Force so is MSNBC, so is ABC. By the way,
- 17:12Speaker 3: you want to go back and that that's one of
- 17:13Speaker 3: the episodes we put on YouTube. It's a video episode
- 17:17Speaker 3: and you can watch it because we play about a
- 17:19Speaker 3: dozen different clips where the corporate media is the pr
- 17:24Speaker 3: arm of hamas well, there is MSNBC being the pr
- 17:28Speaker 3: arm of Hesbela saying well, wouldn't it violated if Israel
- 17:32Speaker 3: re arms itself. No, Israel has a right to defend
- 17:36Speaker 3: itself and to keep the people of Israel safe, and
- 17:39Speaker 3: they are not the equivalent as apparently MSNBC seems to
- 17:42Speaker 3: think of the terrorist organization Samas and Hesbela that target
- 17:46Speaker 3: and murder civilians.
- 17:48Speaker 2: I wish, by the way, I could say that this
- 17:49Speaker 2: was the worst for Katie in this interview. Listen to
- 17:52Speaker 2: the response from the Israeli government spokesman and then the
- 17:55Speaker 2: follow up to this about why the timing has happened
- 18:00Speaker 2: now for this deal to be done, and that's where
- 18:02Speaker 2: it Israel basically kind of says like, yeah, it's the
- 18:05Speaker 2: Biden administration's fault because they didn't give us what we
- 18:08Speaker 2: need to defend ourselves.
- 18:09Speaker 11: Listen, of course, not Casey, Israel's a sovereign country, not
- 18:13Speaker 11: a terrorist organization. We're talking about Jezebela, a terrorist organization
- 18:17Speaker 11: in my country. But also last time I checked in
- 18:20Speaker 11: your country to Kasey, they're a terrorist organization. They're our enemy.
- 18:24Speaker 11: That make no misting that your enemy, and the States
- 18:26Speaker 11: as well. So we, of course at Israel will defend ourselves.
- 18:29Speaker 11: That's our rights like any other country in the world,
- 18:33Speaker 11: to defend ourselves. But if this terrorist organization begins to
- 18:37Speaker 11: prepare another attack against us, we will defend ourselves.
- 18:42Speaker 10: Israel reserves that right.
- 18:44Speaker 9: Is this contingent upon the US unfreezing a weaponshipment, specifically
- 18:48Speaker 9: those one ton bombs that Israel had been using so effectively.
- 18:53Speaker 11: Well, look, the Prime Minister made clear just before a
- 18:57Speaker 11: couple of hours ago that the reason why this has
- 19:00Speaker 11: happened now are three reasons.
- 19:02Speaker 10: It's because we want to focus now on the Iranian threat.
- 19:06Speaker 11: The premiss didn't want to expand on that, but we
- 19:08Speaker 11: know that Iran is preparing to create a nuclear weapon.
- 19:12Speaker 11: We cannot let that happen. We will always make that
- 19:15Speaker 11: our number one priority because Iran say they wish to
- 19:18Speaker 11: wipe this country up the face of the earth.
- 19:21Speaker 10: Katie, when they say it. We believe it.
- 19:24Speaker 11: And the second reason, of course is to yes, give
- 19:27Speaker 11: our forces a breather and to replenish our stocks.
- 19:31Speaker 10: And there have been big delays.
- 19:32Speaker 11: The Prime Minister made that clear that yes, the US
- 19:35Speaker 11: is our closest ally in the world.
- 19:36Speaker 10: There are no two closer countries anywhere in the world.
- 19:40Speaker 11: That there have been big delays in weapons and munitions deliveries.
- 19:43Speaker 10: The Prime Minister made that clear.
- 19:45Speaker 11: And these delays we hope will be resolved very very soon.
- 19:50Speaker 11: But really the third reason for this ceasepy now is
- 19:53Speaker 11: to separate as. The Prime Minister said that fronts and
- 19:57Speaker 11: isolate from US. From day two law Hamas was counting
- 20:01Speaker 11: Onbela to fight by its side. That was a massive miscalculation.
- 20:06Speaker 11: With Hesbela now out of the picture, Hamas is left
- 20:09Speaker 11: on its own and Israel can increase our pressure on
- 20:12Speaker 11: Hamas get our hostages home, which is our sacred mission.
- 20:16Speaker 10: It's on number one priority.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Has I mean you hear it there, there's still like,
- 20:22Speaker 2: hey you guys, let us hang out to dry.
- 20:24Speaker 1: The Biden administration did this on purpose. We need this.
- 20:27Speaker 1: We got to wait for Trump to come in.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Well, and that's why this cease fire happened now as
- 20:32Speaker 3: the Biden White House put enormous pressure on Israel to
- 20:35Speaker 3: accept this deal, Israel did, and it is rational for
- 20:38Speaker 3: Israel to make the decision focusing on Hamas, cutting Hamas
- 20:41Speaker 3: off from Hesbela. That is a major strategic step forward.
- 20:45Speaker 3: And so I understand why the deal was attractive. But
- 20:48Speaker 3: the deal is also this White House is a It
- 20:50Speaker 3: was prompted by this White House for extended periods of
- 20:54Speaker 3: time cutting off weapons to Israel.
- 20:56Speaker 11: But b.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Joe Biden and Kamala Harrison, the Democrats are trying to
- 21:01Speaker 3: tie Israel's hands, and they're trying to do it before
- 21:04Speaker 3: the Trump administration comes into office. And so what I'm
- 21:06Speaker 3: trying to make clear is nothing in this deal ties
- 21:10Speaker 3: Israel's hands to protect itself, to defeat and kill terrorists. Understand, Literally,
- 21:16Speaker 3: on the day of October seventh, the Biden administration was
- 21:19Speaker 3: saying publicly, do not retaliate militarily. They have been saying
- 21:24Speaker 3: every day since October seventh. Happened, stop killing terrorists. And Israel,
- 21:29Speaker 3: to its credit, and I got to say the Prime
- 21:31Speaker 3: Minister spokesman there, I think did a fantastic job of
- 21:34Speaker 3: articulating that Israel is going to defend itself whether or
- 21:38Speaker 3: not Democrats in Washington are willing to support it.
- 21:42Speaker 2: As before, If you want to hear the rest of
- 21:44Speaker 2: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 21:47Speaker 2: dow the podcast from earlier this week to hear the
- 21:49Speaker 2: entire thing. I want to get back to the big
- 21:53Speaker 2: story number three of the week you may have missed.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question about college campuses, and
- 21:58Speaker 2: we talked to the I'm going to go you mentioned
- 22:01Speaker 2: in the center, and I talked about this a lot
- 22:03Speaker 2: on the show. Those presidents that came before Congress, and
- 22:07Speaker 2: it was shocking that they would not stop the just
- 22:11Speaker 2: abuse of the Jewish students and not protect them. Do
- 22:16Speaker 2: you feel like the pendulum will swing back watching what
- 22:20Speaker 2: happened to some of those presidents and just seeing how
- 22:23Speaker 2: extreme these college campuses have gotten, or do you think
- 22:26Speaker 2: they're just so indoctrinated to hate Israel now that this
- 22:29Speaker 2: is just the policy of almost all of these IVY schools.
- 22:33Speaker 6: Well, the good things then is as a sort of
- 22:37Speaker 6: broken down academic myself, I can tell you one thing
- 22:41Speaker 6: which is the one thing they care more about than
- 22:45Speaker 6: their parking spaces is their funding. And so if you
- 22:51Speaker 6: hold their funding at risk, they will stop this behavior.
- 22:56Speaker 6: And so I was at penn last April to give
- 23:00Speaker 6: remarks on why I think it's a bad idea to
- 23:02Speaker 6: hate Jews, and I required three layers of armed guards.
- 23:07Speaker 6: I had Philadelphia City cops, I had pen cops, and
- 23:11Speaker 6: Heritage was not satisfied with that, and they sent an
- 23:14Speaker 6: additional armed guard with me because it was such radical
- 23:19Speaker 6: thing for me to go on campus and make these remarks,
- 23:23Speaker 6: and that speech isn't free. A lot of people had
- 23:27Speaker 6: to pay for that, including the taxpayers of Pennsylvania amongst others.
- 23:33Speaker 6: And it was a really enlightening moment that we have
- 23:38Speaker 6: to hold this funding at risk. And I've heard President
- 23:41Speaker 6: Trump talk about this. I think very forcefully that no
- 23:46Speaker 6: university should get federal funding. And I think we can
- 23:50Speaker 6: also look at this from the state perspective and hold
- 23:54Speaker 6: that funding at risk and that will actually change this behavior.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Well. And I got to say, Victoria has a lot
- 24:01Speaker 3: of courage going on to college campuses and facing the
- 24:05Speaker 3: crazy left, the angry left, the Israel hating and America
- 24:09Speaker 3: hating left, and we need to see more of that courage,
- 24:11Speaker 3: more of that courage among academics, more of that courage
- 24:15Speaker 3: among students. And you know, I think back. You know,
- 24:18Speaker 3: I mentioned Ben at the outset that Victoria was my
- 24:21Speaker 3: first national security advisor, and I think it's worth recounting
- 24:25Speaker 3: a little bit of that story when we first started
- 24:26Speaker 3: working together. So I was elected to the Senate twelve
- 24:30Speaker 3: years ago. I show up in December of twenty twelve,
- 24:34Speaker 3: sworn in in January of twenty thirteen. And when you're
- 24:38Speaker 3: a brand new Senator, when you're a baby senator, they
- 24:40Speaker 3: put you down down on these little bitty basement offices
- 24:43Speaker 3: and it's basically freshman hazing. I mean, there are one
- 24:46Speaker 3: hundred Senate offices that are full offices, but they keep
- 24:50Speaker 3: the new senators down in the basement for three four
- 24:52Speaker 3: five months, just basically as an initiation. And then so
- 24:56Speaker 3: Victoria was part of our very first team that came
- 25:00Speaker 3: together right when I was newly elected. And she came
- 25:02Speaker 3: and joined us initially for what was going to be
- 25:04Speaker 3: two weeks and just to help us get started, help
- 25:07Speaker 3: us hire some staff, and then she then she was
- 25:09Speaker 3: going to move on. And when we got there. One
- 25:12Speaker 3: of the very first things we had as we had
- 25:14Speaker 3: a vote on John Kerrey, who had been nominated as
- 25:17Speaker 3: Secretary of State, and John Kerry at the time I
- 25:20Speaker 3: was elected, he was a senator, so he was a
- 25:22Speaker 3: colleague of mine for like four minutes. And then Obama
- 25:25Speaker 3: the beginning of the second term, nominated Kerrie as Secretary
- 25:27Speaker 3: of State. I remember John Carey came by my basement office.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Victoria was sitting in the office in the meeting, and
- 25:33Speaker 3: Carrie was, let me speak nicely, incredibly confident in himself.
- 25:41Speaker 3: I'm trying to put that in a kind tone, and
- 25:45Speaker 3: he gave me this this sort of long lecture how
- 25:48Speaker 3: I really need to it needed to embrace the Law
- 25:51Speaker 3: of the Sea Treaty, which the Law of the Sea Treaty,
- 25:54Speaker 3: among other things, significantly undermines US sovereignty and gives away
- 25:58Speaker 3: the ability of we the people to make own laws.
- 26:01Speaker 3: And I remember sitting that just kind of laughing and
- 26:03Speaker 3: being like, Okay, this guy has no idea who I am,
- 26:07Speaker 3: like none whatsoever. And we then came to the vote
- 26:13Speaker 3: on the floor of the Senate, and it was one
- 26:14Speaker 3: of the very first votes I ever took, and I
- 26:17Speaker 3: went down and voted no, and there was literally an
- 26:21Speaker 3: audible gasp on the floor of the Senate when I
- 26:25Speaker 3: voted no, because a freshman senator was certainly not supposed
- 26:29Speaker 3: to do that. The vote was ninety seven to three.
- 26:32Speaker 3: So ninety seven senators voted yes. There were only three
- 26:35Speaker 3: of us that voted no. I was it ninety four
- 26:39Speaker 3: to three? Okay, Well, then I guess Carrie didn't vote
- 26:41Speaker 3: for himself. And I remember the three.
- 26:43Speaker 10: I remember them.
- 26:45Speaker 3: I don't know who skipped. Whoever skipped, they did better
- 26:47Speaker 3: than the ninety four. And then immediately thereafter, about concurrently
- 26:52Speaker 3: with it, was the confirmation of Chuck Hagel. Now Chuck
- 26:57Speaker 3: Hagel is who Obama had nominated to be Secretary of Defense,
- 27:00Speaker 3: and Chuck Hagel had been a Republican senator. I didn't
- 27:03Speaker 3: know Hegel, but as I looked at his record, his
- 27:06Speaker 3: record was terrible. And so I ended up leading what
- 27:11Speaker 3: was the very first filibuster in American history against a
- 27:15Speaker 3: defense secretary, and it was successful. It was before Harry
- 27:18Speaker 3: Reid had used the nuclear option, before he'd blown up
- 27:20Speaker 3: the filibuster. So you can't filibuster now a cabinet nominee anymore,
- 27:24Speaker 3: but you could then, and we successfully held forty one Republicans.
- 27:29Speaker 3: We stopped his nomination, and then actually Republicans being what
- 27:34Speaker 3: they are, several other Republicans who joined us went wobbly
- 27:37Speaker 3: and decided to confirm him anyway. But that's another story.
- 27:40Speaker 3: But what I will say is I think it got
- 27:43Speaker 3: Victoria's attention that this was not going to be just
- 27:47Speaker 3: to quiet go along to get a long tenure in
- 27:49Speaker 3: the Senate, that we were there to fight battles and
- 27:52Speaker 3: lead battles. And she ended up staying in. And I'll
- 27:58Speaker 3: tell you something astonishing, Penn. So, if you rewind the
- 28:01Speaker 3: clock twelve years ago, twelve years ago, I am elected
- 28:06Speaker 3: to the Senate, I'm elected to the Senate. I'm forty
- 28:08Speaker 3: one years old, brand new, elected to the Senate. And
- 28:11Speaker 3: as I came into the Senate, I had areas that
- 28:13Speaker 3: I knew a lot about. If you were talking about
- 28:15Speaker 3: legal issues, if you're talking about criminal justice, if you
- 28:17Speaker 3: were talking about constitutional law, I had a long background
- 28:21Speaker 3: in all of those issues. When it came to foreign policy,
- 28:26Speaker 3: I had essentially zero background. Just my professional career, I'd
- 28:30Speaker 3: never worked in foreign policy. I never worked in the
- 28:32Speaker 3: State Department of Defense department. I'd never dealt with foreign policy.
- 28:36Speaker 3: My focus had always been domestic. When I was on
- 28:39Speaker 3: the George W. Bush campaign twenty four years ago, I
- 28:43Speaker 3: was the domestic policy advisor. That was my specialty, and
- 28:45Speaker 3: so look economic matter, domestic matters. I had a lot
- 28:49Speaker 3: of experience foreign policy, I had essentially none, but I
- 28:53Speaker 3: did have some strong beliefs. The son of a Cuban
- 28:57Speaker 3: immigrant who had fought in the Cuban Revolution, and I
- 29:00Speaker 3: believed profoundly in freedom. I was inspired by Reagan. Peace
- 29:06Speaker 3: through strength is a principle in philosophy that I believed
- 29:11Speaker 3: deeply in. But I didn't have a terribly deep subject
- 29:16Speaker 3: matter expertise. And so one of the things I give
- 29:19Speaker 3: give that background because one of the remarkable things Victoria
- 29:22Speaker 3: did is is basically convened a university in the United
- 29:27Speaker 3: States Senate to train me up in foreign policy. And
- 29:31Speaker 3: I say so with complete humility. And what preceded for
- 29:36Speaker 3: four years is we would do deep dives. And when
- 29:40Speaker 3: I'm in DC, Heidi and the girls stay back in Houston.
- 29:44Speaker 3: So when I'm in DC, I'm solo. I don't have
- 29:46Speaker 3: I don't have anybody at home, and so my philosophy,
- 29:49Speaker 3: if I get to get to my apartment at seven
- 29:51Speaker 3: or eight or nine, o'clock at night, I'll be mad
- 29:53Speaker 3: at my team. I'll be like, wait, what am I
- 29:55Speaker 3: doing sitting in an apartment staring at a wall. There's
- 29:57Speaker 3: work to be done. Like now, if Heidi in the
- 30:00Speaker 3: girls were there, I'd want to be home with the kids.
- 30:01Speaker 3: But if they're not there, I want to work. And
- 30:04Speaker 3: so every night when I'm in DC, I do a
- 30:07Speaker 3: working dinner. And what Victoria began convening as we do
- 30:12Speaker 3: working dinners, and many of them were with subject matter experts,
- 30:15Speaker 3: where we'd bring in, say a Middle East policy expert
- 30:18Speaker 3: or a couple. We'd bring in an Israel expert, or
- 30:20Speaker 3: an Iran expert, we'd bring in a Russia expert, we'd
- 30:22Speaker 3: bring in a China expert, and we'd do a deep
- 30:26Speaker 3: dive onto a subject matter and sit there and have
- 30:30Speaker 3: a three four hour dinner really asking. You know, I'm
- 30:33Speaker 3: a big believer that there are no stupid questions other
- 30:37Speaker 3: than the question you don't ask because you're afraid to ask.
- 30:41Speaker 3: And so I was perfectly happy to ask question after
- 30:43Speaker 3: question after question. And I will just say, now, twelve
- 30:47Speaker 3: years later, where I have been in the middle of
- 30:51Speaker 3: virtually every foreign policy battle in the Senate, for a
- 30:54Speaker 3: long time. Now, it's worth looking back to twelve years ago.
- 31:01Speaker 3: The incredible job Victoria did systematically giving me a knowledge
- 31:08Speaker 3: set to go along with principles that I started with.
- 31:11Speaker 3: But I didn't have the subject matter expertise. And there's
- 31:15Speaker 3: literally no person on planet Earth more responsible for my
- 31:19Speaker 3: being able to develop that subject matter expertise than Victoria Victor.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question following up on what
- 31:26Speaker 2: he just stated there, and that is it's it's getting
- 31:29Speaker 2: close to Christmas, a lot of people buying gifts. It's
- 31:31Speaker 2: Black Friday right now as people are listening to this.
- 31:35Speaker 2: When you wrote this book, who did you envision reading it?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Is this one of those books that you should absolutely
- 31:41Speaker 2: get for maybe your kids are in high school or
- 31:44Speaker 2: in college.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Is this I mean when you when you write it?
- 31:48Speaker 2: When I wrote my book, I'm like, I was trying
- 31:50Speaker 2: to vision who do I want to read this book?
- 31:52Speaker 1: Who am I trying to give information to?
- 31:55Speaker 6: To give information ben to people who who are interested
- 31:59Speaker 6: in American national security? And not to correct Senator Cruise,
- 32:03Speaker 6: but not that I ever would, But the only thing
- 32:05Speaker 6: I would adjust to what he just said is it's
- 32:08Speaker 6: not foreign policy. This is national security. This is what
- 32:12Speaker 6: touches all Americans every day, and so I would hope
- 32:16Speaker 6: everyone from a high school senior to somebody who's just
- 32:19Speaker 6: interested in the Middle East would be interested in this
- 32:23Speaker 6: book because they want to know why this is in
- 32:27Speaker 6: the United States' best interests. And I would boil this
- 32:31Speaker 6: down to a single issue. And I remember so clearly
- 32:34Speaker 6: when we made the decision to do this, which was
- 32:36Speaker 6: when Senator Heller's bill to move the Israeli Embassy from
- 32:42Speaker 6: Tel Aviv to Jerusalem came up right away in January
- 32:47Speaker 6: of twenty thirteen, and it did not have a co sponsor,
- 32:51Speaker 6: and I said to Senator Cruz, would you like to
- 32:53Speaker 6: be co sponsor? And he said, yes, I would. This
- 32:56Speaker 6: seems like a really good idea because this gives that
- 33:00Speaker 6: kind of clarity that we were just talking about. And
- 33:03Speaker 6: that's when I knew we were off to the races.
- 33:05Speaker 6: Same thing with the vote on John Carey, same thing
- 33:08Speaker 6: with Chuck Hagel, that we are going to take a
- 33:14Speaker 6: new approach to these issues. And it's one of the
- 33:17Speaker 6: reasons it was not easy for me to leave Senator
- 33:21Speaker 6: Cruz's staff to go into the Trump administration. But I
- 33:25Speaker 6: had no conflict of interest because it was essentially the
- 33:28Speaker 6: same policies. These are the America First policies, and one
- 33:32Speaker 6: of those keystones of that is the relationship between the
- 33:37Speaker 6: United States and Israel. And so that's really the purpose
- 33:41Speaker 6: behind the book to explain to people why that is
- 33:45Speaker 6: and then to give them ammunition to spread that information
- 33:50Speaker 6: around because I think the disinformation about Israel, the very
- 33:56Speaker 6: negative information about the Jewish people as well as Israel,
- 34:01Speaker 6: is so pervasive. So that's why I wrote it.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I know it's going to be an important book and
- 34:06Speaker 2: a lot of people are going to want to try
- 34:08Speaker 2: to grab this.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Where can they get it? Where do you tell people
- 34:11Speaker 1: to go?
- 34:13Speaker 6: Unfortunately, they can get it anywhere they would like. They
- 34:15Speaker 6: can get it on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, they can
- 34:18Speaker 6: go to the encounterpress website, but Amazon's probably the easiest
- 34:23Speaker 6: what we all have on our phones. So really appreciate
- 34:27Speaker 6: any kind of pre orders and I hope it makes
- 34:29Speaker 6: a great gift.
- 34:31Speaker 2: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Center,
