- Mr Normthegreat1: Welcome to Dope Discussions, where faith isn't quiet and truth isn't comfortable. We're having the conversations most people avoid about purpose, pain, leadership, relationships, identity, and the real walk with God. No pretending, no performance, no watered down gospel, just raw growth, real convictions, and kingdom conversations. and Kingdom conversations that challenge you to become who God called you to be. And now, here's your host, Norm the Great One. Yo, what up, what up, what up, man? already know who it is. This is a great one. We back in the building. Yes, Lord, we back in the building. Another day, another opportunity. You know, that's how we start every show by giving thanks to the Most High God for all his many blessings that he's stored upon us. And one of the biggest blessings of them all, man, to be back in the building and behind the mic one more time, man, we back in the building, family. Hope y'all been taking care of y'allself out there. Hope y'all had a good weekend. Hope y'all had a good week so far. Mother's Day weekend coming up. Yeah, yeah, man, you know, that's always a bit of sweet time for me because, you know, after I lost my mom in 2004, yeah, 2004, excuse me, life ain't never really been the same, man, you know what saying? So all the people out there who still got their moms, love on them, cherish them, take care of them, man, you know, and. I know some unfortunate situations out there, people that got moms and they don't have the best rapport and all that, man. If you got a chance to patch that up, man, get that right, not only just because mother's there, man, you know, because you don't know how much time we got here, man. You try to handle things with grace, man, you know what saying? And a lot of times, man, you would never understand some decisions and choice that your parents had to make until you became a parent, you know what mean? Thank God every day for my mom, know, and the time that we had, you know. It was a great ride, My mom been like my best friend, man. We talked about a lot of different things, man. when I think about it now, she was preparing me for life. And I'm always grateful, forever grateful for the time we had, man. It's like, my mom left and passed away in 2004, man. That's a while ago, man. And it still seems like yesterday, you know what I'm saying? It's like... Man, you you got the memories, the thoughts, the conversation, the laugh, the tears, the joy, all that, man. It's just like, man. And like I tell people all the time, man, cherish them. Cherish your mother, man. Cherish your parents. Cherish your people all around, man. You know, you don't have to wait till a certain day to show love to your people because at the end of the day, man, I'm... It's Mother's Day every day, you know? And to the people like me who mom passed away and went on to be with the Lord, man, know, I thought some prayers with you this day, you know, some people this day can be a little rough. And I get it, you know, to see all the pictures and people spending time with their mom and yours went on. She did what she was supposed to do on this side, you know, God had better plans for another side, you know what mean? So, we're always grateful for that, man, you know? And I just wanted to start off by saying, you know, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, man, you know? I don't know what it feels like to be a mother, but I wouldn't take nothing from nobody. I don't think it's an easy job, easy task, carrying a baby for nine months and sometimes shorter, whatever the case may be, and all the things that we put mothers do, you know what saying? So, my hat off to all the mothers out there. Salute to you, man. We appreciate you and we love you, man. We thankful and we grateful for you. I just think that. We are in a time, man, where things that make me feel like, dang, when you hear people talk are like, I mean, and I think I kind of see both sides of it. When people say both sides, excuse me, I'm babbling over my words. I was doing something else, know, can't do two things at one time. β When you see these stories where people say they cut their mom off or my mama dead to me and cussing and carrying on, it's like, man. And I can empathize with some people because not saying on their choice and decision because a lot of people, parents, mother put them through a lot of different things and. all that other stuff, but we're not here to highlight no negativity or nothing like that, but that's the reality of the situation, you know what saying? And my heart grieves for them, man, you know, because oftentimes a lot of people don't wanna relationship with their mom, you know, that's a horrible situation that can't be amended. And my heart grieves for that, man, because I only can imagine, man, my mom been alive, not being able to have a relationship with her, man, you know? I can't imagine how tough that is, man. That's your mom's man, you know? And at the end of the day, man, you know, I don't... I don't wish that on nobody, man. You I love peace and happiness and joy. That's what I like, man. You know, I like when we come together, man, and fellowship and love on one another, support one another, and be there for one another. You know, that's what it's about, man. You know, me, this weekend, man, I got plans, thinking about going back home and hanging with my sisters and one of my oldest, man. We're gonna probably get up together and do a little something. to my mom's man, you know, it's always good to hang with my little sister and my son or whatever, you know, it's always a good time, man. So, you know, shout out to all the mothers and once again, man, we're gonna get back to you at the end of the show before we get out of here, but we got a good show, man. It was an interview, ain't gonna call nobody name or whatever the case may be, but you know, as a minister, the man of God, the word of God, that's my thing. I love reading the Bible, I like studying. I like encouraging folks, all that good stuff. So I was on YouTube watching this interview. A lot of, this guy had a lot of questions that the other guy on the interview didn't really answer. But you know what I did? I wrote all these questions down and guess what we're gonna do today? We're gonna go down the list. I think it's like eight or nine questions. I'm not sure. Let me see. I got my glasses on and I'm ready. I think it's like one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. Nine. nine questions that, you know, the guy didn't really ask that I think a lot of people won't answer to these questions, but don't worry about it, brother. I got you. I got you. And we gonna do this smooth and simple because I did the research, I did the reading, I did the studying. So I'm gonna bring it to you just like that. You know, I'm gonna bring it to you. So bear with me. We're going to make it do what it do. And the first question was, we can't say the Bible is facts, right? That's what he was saying. But here's the deal, the Bible, contains real history. It contains text that is reliable. So many events was proven from the Bible over 1,500 years by over 40 different authors. You know what saying? prophecies in the Bible has been spoken and been coming true. We had plenty of prophecies in the Bible that we see in right now. Because we go to Jeremiah. 33 and 10, you've seen a lot of these things right now playing out. So I don't know what else you can say, what else you can do, but a lot of these things are playing out in real time right now as we speak. And I don't understand. And I'm not here to diss nobody or go against somebody that don't believe in the Bible, whatever. That's your right. You know what saying? You got a right to believe what you believe. But when you come over here, I believe in it and I'm gonna defend it and I'm gonna tell you. that there's so many things in the Bible that's true. I believe the whole Word of God is in the Bible, you know what saying? It was recorded by authors and men that walked with them and spent time with them and was there. There's just too many things that have been proven over time. I've been to the Bible Museum in D.C., you know what saying? I want to take a trip to Jerusalem, man, and get over there and see some of the good stuff that's coming soon. But that's the first question on the list, you know what saying? That's what I got from that. You know, don't need to go too much further into that question because that's simple, you know what saying? And then I think I got my notes. I'm going be going through my notes and stuff, so I might be a little back and forth a little bit. Bear with me. Hopefully I don't lose you into all the transition and back and forth. You know, hopefully you stick with me. To my Bible scholars out there, my Bible readers, you know, we in here. And the second question he had, He said, let me get my notes. Wait, I'm still here. It says, why do we have to repent, right? That's a good question for somebody that's not a believer and some believers don't understand why we have to repent. But that's a good question. Why do we have to repent or should you have to repent? But at the end of the day, what repentance do, Repentance allows you to access to think the way Jesus think, right? When you repent, you deepen your intimacy with God, you see what I'm saying? And when you repent, it creates a tender heart within you. Repentance release β personal, it release personal freedom in your life. Repentance allow you to see people the way Jesus see you, that Jesus does. Repentance bear healthy fruit in your life. Repentance help you to keep short account. When you keep, when you repent, you keep a short account of stuff. Now, you know, oftentimes a lot of people hold on to things, but once you, It's great to have a place and a person that you can cast all your cares on and you can let things go. Oftentimes people walk around here with things built up in them and carrying that thing in it and it just screwing all out of them because they don't repent and let things go. You know, you have to. And it aligns with the truth act of humility and freedom from guilt. Let go of the weight that... spiritual transform 180 degree turn from disobedience to obedience. When you repent, you going from disobedience to obedience. Repenting, when you repent, it help you shift from a worldly view and start acting and thinking more from a godly view. I'm not saying you a god, I'm not saying that, but I'm saying when you turn from that, when you repent, It helped you shift, because before you're looking at that whirlwind of where the world handled things. But when you repent, you're giving that reference to the way God think and the way God see things, how God wants you to see things, because you humbled yourself. You have an accountability of what happened. You humbled yourself, and you come to make amends, and you come to make it right. So you repent from what you did, right? And when you repent, you're spiritual hinderness. See, when you repent, that thing can hinder you. And it do block you, because you get that heart in your heart and you get mean and nasty because you don't feel, you know how some people get, then you know they can be wrong, it's two left shoes. But you think they ever repent and apologize? No, sir, there's a lot of people walking around here right now. You have them dead, they're right, and everything they did and they know they've been wrong. They would never apologize or try to make that thing right. They would blame everything on everybody else. And at the end of the day, you think about it. When you think about repentance, you have to think about Romans 12 and two. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. You got it by renewing of your mind. You know what that mean? That's by testing you may discern what the will of God is and be good and acceptable and perfect. You see what saying? Because you're trying to look at it not from the world way and how you see it. You're trying to look at it God way. What is the will of God and what is good and acceptable and perfect? See, God's will, not your will, not your way, God's way. See, oftentimes we wanna do things our way. No, no, no, it's about God's way. not only that. Not only that Like I said before, when you... are in Christ and you have a relationship. That's one of the most beautiful things because you can go to God and cast all your burdens. You can lay it there. Where else can you go? Then somebody say, you got people, they don't even want to talk to you. They don't want to hear nothing about what you got going on. But you got God that said, come to me, all ye all who labored. They said, come to me all who labored and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. and I am gentle and lowly in the heart, and you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Come on people, come on people. Matthew 11 28 30. See, we giving you Bible, we ain't just making stuff up. We giving you Bible because the fellow in the interview, he was asking about Bible. He wasn't asking about conversation. He wants you to give him the word. That's what we're gonna do today. Let's get back to my notes. The next question. Is there a heaven and a hell? Cause you know, most people you hear people say they use that, they used as a scare tactic, right? That's what they say. They say, β they try to use that to get people to live how they want you to live. But let me give you some scriptures. John 14, two and three, Jesus promised to prepare home for believer. Revelation 21, one through four, there's just a little piece of it. And I'm gonna come back and I'm gonna give you the rest of it. Describes a new heaven and earth with no more death or pain. This is describing, this is responding to the question that the person had, is there heaven and hell? So when we go to John 14, two and three. Da da da da da da da da da. That's good right here, man. Like I said, hey man, ain't nothing too about to go to the word, man. They take the time to give it to them, We're gonna give you some of these answers today because at the end of the day, two and three. My father's house have many rooms. If there was not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you will also be where I am. You know the way to a place where I am going. Right then and there, I tell you on John 14, two and three, He going to prepare a place for you and He's coming back that where He may be, you may be also. Come on, Come on, people. Come on now. Let's go. Revelation 21, one through four. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and they were no longer any sea. I saw the holy city that the new Jerusalem coming down out of the heaven from God prepared a bride. beautiful dress for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, look God the well placed and now among the people and he will dwell with them. They will be his people and God himself will be with them and be their God. And he will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more mourning, no more crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away. That's the new heaven and the new earth right then and there, Revelation 21. Now let's go to Philippians 3.20. See, we giving you Bible. We giving you out the Bible, the answer to the question. We ain't playing, we giving you the Holy truth. 3 and 20. But our citizenship is in heaven and we are eagerly await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power enables him to bring everything under his control will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Right then and there, that's talking about heaven. Let's go to Luke 23 and 43. Stick with me, people. Stick with me. 23. 2043, right? We gonna get your Bible today. This gonna be your Bible study. Jesus answered him, truly I tell you today you will be with me in paradise. Right there, right there. That's what he talking about, heaven right there. So these evidence of a place that's called heaven. So people saying, a lot of people say, well, I don't believe there's a heaven in the hell. Or most people say, I don't believe in hell. Well, right there, I give you descriptions out of the Bible when he tells you about this place that he got for you. that he gonna prepare for you and he come back to receive you and to himself so where he at, you may be also. That's what the word. Now, let's switch over. Let's talk about hell. Well, the one that everybody say, do you know what? Ain't no hell. We ain't worrying about that. We ain't worrying about that. Well, you say you ain't worrying about it? Let's go to Matthew 25. Let's go to 25. So I was afraid and went out and hide your gold in the ground so that here is what it belongs to you. His master replied, you wicked lazy servant. So you knew that harvest where I have not sown and gathered where I have not gathered seed. Well, then you should be put, you should have put the money on deposit with the banker so that when I returned, I would have received it back in interest. That's one right there. And the other one, let's go to Luke 16, but the rich man, the rich man. Let's go to Luke 16. 2024. Time came when a beggar died and an angel carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried in Hades where he was in torment. He looked up and saw Abraham fall away with Lazarus by his side. So he called him, Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in the water and cool my tongue because of the agony in this fire. But Abraham replied, son, remember that in your lifetime, You receive your good things when Lazarus received bad things. But now he has conformed here and you are in agony. He is comfortable here and you are in agony. But besides all this between us, you have great chance has been set in a place so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor anyone can come cross from there to us. He answered, then I beg you, Father, send Lazarus to my family. for I have five brothers, let him warn them so that they will not also come to this place of torment." See right then, right there, Luke 16 is telling you that it is a place of torment, of fire, agony. It's telling you that, Right here, Luke 16, 22, 25. It's right there for you to see. Read it for yourself. People think this a joke or people think it's a game, but it ain't a game, man. It's not a game at all. This real life. People leaving every day, man. I hope they got this off together. Do not be afraid of those who killed the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the one who can destroy both the soul and body in hell. Matthew 10 28, do not be afraid of those who killed the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Right then and there. And if somebody right now listening, aw man, they won't hear that. But hey, that's your choice, man. That's your choice. Not through 721, not everyone that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that did the will of my father, which was in heaven, many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? Have we not cast out devils in your name? Have we not done wonderful works? And I will profess to them, I never knew you depart from me, you workers of... of iniquity. That's not what you want to hear. That's not what you want to hear when God tell you the part for me, you workers of iniquity. So everything that you thought you did, you did all that in vain. You know how I feel? You what? Did all that work down here and did everything you thought that you were doing right only to hear the part for me to go down there and torment. Now to the next question he had. Why can't you just live down here on earth how you want to and still be able to get to heaven? Right? That was the question, right? Got them answers. Got some answers for ya, stick with me. Alright, alright, let's see. I got my notes together. Stick with me. Okay, okay, okay, okay. John. 14-23, anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My father will love them and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own. They belong to the father who sent me. So right then and there, he's letting you know there's a certain way you have to carry yourself. You can't just be out here all willy nilly living how you want to live. and just look at it like, β well, you know, I can do what I wanna do, live how I wanna live. And you know what? I'm gonna be all right. I'm gonna be all right. You know, I'm gonna be all right. but has a deal the Bible teaches that. You can't live however you want, sinning freely and thinking that your eternal home gonna be in heaven with Jesus Christ. On this earth, believers always are called to live in obedience because you all, it's a certain way you should carry yourself. because God's purpose for your life is to prepare you for the eternity. If the sun sets you free, you'll be free indeed. That's John 8, 36. Paul said, freedom, Christ has set you free. The freedom is not about doing whatever you want, but it's about being set free from sin, bondage, so you can live a fulfilled life of God's purpose. To get the fulfilled life and have God's purpose, And to get God's purpose, you have to live a certain way according to God's word. They go to book, God's word. That's the instructions that God have right here. But see, what we want to do, we want to do what we want to do, go all out to will, do what we want to do, and just do whatever. Live however, turn up, whatever the case may be. That's what we want to do. Whatever ain't right, we don't care, you know. What do like to say? God know my heart. God should do this, God should look out for me. It is what it is. All these different stuff. We make excuses over and over for our silly behaviors. But right then and there, what I just said, it... It tells you right there, this freedom is not about doing whatever you want. It's about being set free from sin bondage so you can live in the fulfillment of God's purpose. That's all it's about, living your purpose, not your purpose, I'm sorry, God's purpose for your life. Everybody that's here, God has a purpose for your life and he's giving you instructions to fulfill that so you can have life more fulfilling. Now I'm not saying it's a perfect life, but it'd be better than doing it how you want to do it. So that's the answer to that question. Can you live how you want to live down here and still get to heaven? The answer is no. It's a quick answer, no. Then why is temptation here on earth? β I think that was a pretty decent question. Why was there temptation on earth? Right? You're gonna be tempted. You're gonna be tempted because God wants you to rely on Him. He don't want you to do no other thing, don't go no other way. He wants you to rely on Him and you're gonna be tested. You're gonna be tested to see when that time come. Will you trust Him? Will you trust Him? That's what it's about. That's all it's about. Temptation on this earth is rooted in human condition and spiritual reality of living between good and evil. In the biblical view, it's not something God created, but rather a consequence of human nature and a presence of sin. The first record temptation was in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3. This act introduced sin into the world from the point of humanity inherent in towards disobedience and self-centered desire. That's what got a lot of us in trouble, our own self-centered desires. But temptation can come in three ways, the world, the flesh, and the devil. But the purpose for temptation, God allowed temptation not to cause people to sin, but to test their strength and faith. James 1, 2, and 3 says that, produce patience and spiritual growth without temptations. Believers will not lean, will not learn to rely on God's strength and to develop perseverance. See, right then and there, that's what I said from the start. God wants you to rely on Him, not crystals, not all these other stuff. You're gonna be tested to see, will I trust Him? Will you trust me? That's all it's about. You're gonna be tempted. Without temptation, you wouldn't even know where you got going on the way you stand. That's not how that work. You're gonna be tested. Let's move on to the next one. β that's a good one. The Bible is the white man book. And the next one is how can God bless you if you don't believe in the Bible? Let's go to work. Let's go. I'm hoping I'm helping somebody along the way. I hope I am. This was real good for me, myself. I got my notes. They kept talking about, it's the white man Bible, why we believe it. Christianity originated in the Middle East, specifically in the first century in Judea and the region, parts of the modern day in Israel, Palestine, Jesus Christ. And the central figure of Christian was a Jewish man who lived and taught in an area and his earliest follower were also Jewish. to spread the Christianity occurring within. Semitic communities and the culture of geographic content and the early Christian was this discreetly non-European non-European Remember that the book of Acts in the new in the New Testament details the spread of Christianity through Jerusalem and other parts of the Middle East into Africa and Asian Warner and Acts 8 39 We count the baptism of an Ethiopian eunuch by Philip introducing the early reach of Christianity into Africa. Africa. long before Christianity reached Europe and had established a significant presence in Africa in the first century in Ethiopia. Need I say more? Need I say more? need I say more and there's no way for God to bless you if you don't believe in them. Now, I'ma walk that one back. Let me walk that one back. Because the random justice was unjust and just like you might not, but people get blessed that don't believe certain things because everybody, everybody wasn't a believer. but God can use who people reject. So at the end of the day, He will believe. You will believe, you best believe that, because every knee got the bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Now... Okay, let me get down to the next one. Because I'm on time, I'm sorry, I'm running on time. How many ways can you get to God? And why do I need a middleman and can you pay tithes besides at a church? I'm running out of time, so I gotta speed up a little bit. I gotta speed up a little bit. I hope this blessing somebody. How many ways can you get to God? Right then and there, we're gonna get this one straight to it. John 14 and six. Jesus declared, am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me. Right there. I am, Jesus identify himself as the exclusive path to God rather than merely a God to the way, a guide to the way, the truth. He exert that he is the abominant and the divining, divine truth, I'm sorry. Ultimate revolution of God reality in the life. No man come to the Father except in me. He letting you know, right, that. is an exclusivity of salvation through a relationship with Him. So if you don't have the relationship with God, you cannot and you will not. You will not. There's only one way. I hear pastors, other people who I ain't calling nobody out saying that in so many other different ways. No, no, no, no, Right then and there, it tells you it's one way. It's only one way. That's all I need to say on that one. Now we got, we are to, why do I need a middle man? So basically he was asking, why do you need a preacher? Right? That's what he was asking, right? to give the sense of the scriptures. Just as a leader of the Bible, the preacher study the word and give the sense of it and help the people understand how the ancient texts apply to their life. A spiritual shepherd. because life is often compared to battles and journeys, whereas easy to get lost, a preacher act as a shepherd who guides the flock from false teaching and help those who are struggling and wondering. Ephesians 4, 11 and 12, leaders are given to equip the saints for the work of ministry, meaning their job is to train so you can go out there and serve others effectively. Preaching is more than just teaching. It's hearing and proclaiming the gospel that it can bring conviction, comfort, and reward sense of God's presence to the private reading alone might not always be provided. Accountable in care, a preacher is personal commitment committed to your growth. They are there to pray for you, visit the sick, and provide counsel through life's hardest moment like grief and crisis. Roman 10, 14 and 15. How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? How can anyone preach unless they are sent? Right then and there, that answer another question in the south right there, for you talking about those who don't believe. Right then and there. How can they hear unless you have a preacher? You have to have a preacher. That's why. That's why you have to have somebody lead. I think everybody want to do things how they want to do it, but you have to have the preacher. Yeah, you can pray. Yeah, you can do all that, but you got to have that word from God. That's why you need a pastor, a good one, a good Bible-based pastor. You do need that. That's why you need one. And I think the last one, he said something like, Why can you pay tithes besides at the church? Okay. In Malachi 3 10, which says, the tithes into the storehouse so there's food in God's house. That means bringing the tithe, the purpose of the tithe where you are member at, and support the place where you are spiritually fed. You see what saying? Now, if you are a member of the church, that's where you're supposed to be giving your tithe. Now, If you are not a member, if you're not a member of a church or whatever the case may be, you can give tithes to like β a missionary organization or a pair church ministry or a direct beloveds, like give to a poor widow orphan, which Jesus declared described as doing unto me in Matthews 25 and 40. So I mean, there's different ways you can do that. But if you are a member at a church, you have an obligation to that church. Now, if you are not a member of church and you want to give to peer ministries and give back to different things, like I said, a missionary organization and stuff like that, have at it, you know what saying? But at the end of the day, it's best to have a membership. at a church and support that church as much as you can and however you can, like you're supposed to and what's required of you, you know? I think oftentimes people worry about the wrong things, you know? And that's what it is. You worry about the wrong thing so many times. And I get it, you know what saying? You look at the way the world going and you see all the corruption at the house and so many different pastors doing this and doing that. But you can't let that hurt in your heart, man, you know what saying? Because they gotta give a cunt for that stuff that they're doing, man. That's the stuff that's on their hand. You can't control that. You can't dictate that. And you shouldn't let that allow you to stop you from having your relationship with God. They shouldn't stop you from having your relationship at all because you are accountable and you're going to be accountable for what you do and the deeds that you do on this earth. That's your accountability. He got to give and he got to give and account for his store chips and the things that he done. So like I said, man, I hope this helps somebody. I hope this answers some questions. And like I said, man, I wish I had more time to do this. but we try to get it out here like that. Probably was a little bum fumbling today. Probably could have done a little better, but hope I ain't lost nobody along the way and I hope somebody learned something. And like I say, man, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, man. Enjoy yourself, enjoy your day, man. Tell them kids, make you some dinner, take you out to a restaurant or something, kick your feet up and enjoy yourself, love one your family, take care of your family, pray together. Love on each other. All that good stuff, man. Like I always say, man, I appreciate the love and the support. I don't take this for granted, man. I'm grateful, I'm grateful. And I wanna say, man, once again, happy Mother's Day to all the mothers. And like I always say, man, if God will it, man, same time, same place next week, peace, we're outta here.
