- 1:44Speaker 1: Mouth turn, moun turn the word of the Monjo Loo.
- 1:55Speaker 6: Come come out. You think I'm sure we off?
- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 2: You're listening to the voice, Come on dig now one
- 2:09Speaker 2: and only. Steve Harvey. I got a radio show, just
- 2:13Speaker 2: trying to give God some back, just some back of
- 2:19Speaker 2: what even gave me, just a portion, you know. Just
- 2:23Speaker 2: I'm just trying, man, to to show some type of
- 2:27Speaker 2: gratitude for all his blessings. I'm just trying to, man,
- 2:33Speaker 2: just just get it right sometimes, you know what I mean.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I mean, man, you just can't do what you want
- 2:39Speaker 2: to do and just live wrong all the time. Man,
- 2:41Speaker 2: you gotta at one point in time, Steve, come home. Man,
- 2:45Speaker 2: come on, man, you could do better. I know you can,
- 2:48Speaker 2: you know saying, and you know what I had to do.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I had to stop saying I'm gonna try to do better,
- 2:53Speaker 2: and I just had to say, hey, man, I'm going
- 2:55Speaker 2: to do better. You know, trying is just to put
- 2:59Speaker 2: forth in it and then if it don't work, well okay.
- 3:02Speaker 2: But if you make up in your mind that I'm
- 3:04Speaker 2: going to do something, then trying isn't enough. It's getting
- 3:08Speaker 2: it done is the only thing that matters. See, it's
- 3:10Speaker 2: the difference between doing and trying. We're gonna try to
- 3:14Speaker 2: win the game, or we're gonna go out here to
- 3:16Speaker 2: win the game. Now, trying to win the game means
- 3:18Speaker 2: that you could lose. But when you got in your
- 3:21Speaker 2: mind made up, most athletes will tell you that they
- 3:24Speaker 2: go out there with the full intent and purpose of
- 3:27Speaker 2: winning and winning only see they don't put the second
- 3:31Speaker 2: place finish on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
- 3:33Speaker 6: Second place don't get you there. You you got to win.
- 3:37Speaker 2: And now take it out of the scope of athletics,
- 3:40Speaker 2: but keep it in that type of analogy in life. Man,
- 3:43Speaker 2: you just want to you want to win in life,
- 3:45Speaker 2: don't you. I mean, at the end of the day,
- 3:48Speaker 2: don't you want to be on the cover of Sports
- 3:49Speaker 2: Illustrated of life? Don't you want to be recognized for
- 3:53Speaker 2: your hard work? Don't you want, you know, to be
- 3:56Speaker 2: recognized within the bonus structure down at your job. Don't
- 3:59Speaker 2: you want to have your plaque up on the wall
- 4:02Speaker 2: down at your job? I mean most people do. Some
- 4:04Speaker 2: people could care less. Some people don't care about looking
- 4:07Speaker 2: good or being their best.
- 4:08Speaker 6: And that's cool.
- 4:09Speaker 2: But I ain't talking to them though. I'm talking to you.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I'm talking to those of you who want to be
- 4:14Speaker 2: the best you can be. You know, people kill me
- 4:17Speaker 2: when they getting mad at people and he Brown knows
- 4:21Speaker 2: and he all up on the employee of the month man,
- 4:23Speaker 2: the dude doing his job to the best of his ability,
- 4:25Speaker 2: and he getting recognized for it?
- 4:27Speaker 6: What they got to do with all that you're talking about?
- 4:28Speaker 6: Because you ain't up there.
- 4:29Speaker 2: There's amazing, man, how people describe other people's success.
- 4:33Speaker 6: He's so lucky. Lucky?
- 4:35Speaker 2: Hey, man, don't they kind of get you a little
- 4:37Speaker 2: bit when people call you lucky? Well, let me tell
- 4:40Speaker 2: you what luck really is, y'all. Lucky is when hard
- 4:43Speaker 2: work bumps up into opportunity. Some people call that luck.
- 4:47Speaker 6: But hold on, let's think about this.
- 4:50Speaker 2: If you wasn't working hard, an opportunity presented itself, what
- 4:54Speaker 2: would you call that? But see, when you've been working
- 4:57Speaker 2: hard and opportunity presents itself and it bumps up in
- 5:00Speaker 2: each other. Now people want to call that luck, but
- 5:02Speaker 2: hold up, he got to park though to day, ain't
- 5:04Speaker 2: paying no attention to Yeah, that opportunity came by, But
- 5:07Speaker 2: if you had not been working hard and the hard
- 5:09Speaker 2: work had not ran up in the opportunity, what would
- 5:11Speaker 2: you have?
- 5:12Speaker 6: No, sir, it's not luck, it's work.
- 5:15Speaker 2: It is work, because as a scripture that says, faith
- 5:18Speaker 2: without works is dead. But my mama was a Sunday
- 5:22Speaker 2: school teacher. She taught me enough. Though Now I know
- 5:25Speaker 2: different between right and wrong, just like you do.
- 5:28Speaker 6: You ain't got to you know. It kills me when
- 5:30Speaker 6: people write a strawberry letter? Am I wrong for this?
- 5:32Speaker 7: You know?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Good?
- 5:33Speaker 6: Well, look at listen read your letter? Are you wrong
- 5:36Speaker 6: for this? You know you're wrong?
- 5:37Speaker 3: What?
- 5:37Speaker 6: You don't need else to be telling me?
- 5:39Speaker 3: You know?
- 5:39Speaker 2: But I'm gonna do this anyway. Well else, hee, Go ahead, though,
- 5:42Speaker 2: do what you want to do. But you know what, y'all,
- 5:45Speaker 2: here's the best advice I can give you. And this
- 5:47Speaker 2: is what I really came to talk about this morning,
- 5:50Speaker 2: but I got sidetracked because I listened. Get out of
- 5:54Speaker 2: your own way. So many of us are blocking our
- 5:57Speaker 2: home blessings. We just in our own way. We are
- 6:01Speaker 2: in our own way. And one of the most dangerous
- 6:05Speaker 2: ways you can get in your way is to do
- 6:08Speaker 2: it your way, to get it figured your way, and
- 6:12Speaker 2: to lock in on your way. And this the way
- 6:14Speaker 2: it's got to go. Do you know how many people
- 6:17Speaker 2: are blocking their blessing? Do you know how long I
- 6:19Speaker 2: block mind with that mindset right there? Look, because this
- 6:24Speaker 2: the way you do it, You think that makes it
- 6:26Speaker 2: the right way? You think jazz, cause you do the
- 6:29Speaker 2: thought on it long and hard, and that's what you
- 6:31Speaker 2: really want. Do you really think that your way is
- 6:33Speaker 2: the right way or could that be a better way? See?
- 6:37Speaker 2: Until I started listening to God and started paying attention
- 6:40Speaker 2: to his way, man, I.
- 6:42Speaker 6: Was spinning my wheels. Man, I was out here so
- 6:45Speaker 6: determined this how I was gonna do it.
- 6:47Speaker 2: But you know I had to learn how to get
- 6:49Speaker 2: out of my own way because just because I could
- 6:51Speaker 2: do it my way didn't mean it was the right way.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I had to get out of my own way. Just
- 6:59Speaker 2: get out you away, man, Now, what what does that mean?
- 7:04Speaker 2: That means, See, set your goals, That means have your dreams.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I'm saying set your goals. Man, I ain't saying.
- 7:15Speaker 6: Don't say goals. Listen to me. Set your goals. What
- 7:17Speaker 6: is it you want to happen? What is it you
- 7:20Speaker 6: like to have? What is it you like to be?
- 7:22Speaker 2: What do you aspire to? Set your goals and set
- 7:25Speaker 2: your dreams. Now, take your goals and your dreams to
- 7:30Speaker 2: God and ask God to show you how. Man, you
- 7:35Speaker 2: can save yourself a lot of pain. Listen to somebody
- 7:39Speaker 2: who did it his way for so long. And when
- 7:42Speaker 2: I finally got out of my way, out of my
- 7:45Speaker 2: own way. When you've heard old people say, let go
- 7:49Speaker 2: and let God, you've heard them say that I didn't.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I didn't get it, but I got it. Now let
- 7:55Speaker 2: go and let God. And it's amazing little saying. Though
- 7:59Speaker 2: now you know you may I get it now. It
- 8:00Speaker 2: took me a bunch of years to get it too.
- 8:02Speaker 2: But when I took my goals and my dreams and
- 8:06Speaker 2: my vision to God and I said, God, this is
- 8:09Speaker 2: what I hope for, this is what I aspired to,
- 8:11Speaker 2: this is what I want to be, this is why
- 8:13Speaker 2: I would love to get to. Then I said, help
- 8:16Speaker 2: me show me how. Point me in the right direction.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Let me follow your footsteps guide me and give me
- 8:24Speaker 2: a spirit of discernment. Show me who wrong? Because I
- 8:27Speaker 2: meet people every day. Ain't up to no good with
- 8:29Speaker 2: me every single day. Oh man, Man, I can't believe
- 8:34Speaker 2: I wanna been to you. Man, the Lord told me
- 8:36Speaker 2: something was gonna happen to me today. Well, see I
- 8:39Speaker 2: talk to him every day. He did not mention you
- 8:42Speaker 2: to me. He ain't said nothing to me. He didn't
- 8:45Speaker 2: tell me what was gonna happen in mine. Now I
- 8:46Speaker 2: don't mean it can't happen because I'm open to it.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So really, man, I'm pro and please know I'm listening
- 8:53Speaker 2: as well as I've ever listened before.
- 8:56Speaker 6: But get yourself together, though, see know your goals, and
- 9:00Speaker 6: then let God show you how to do it. He'll
- 9:02Speaker 6: do it.
- 9:03Speaker 2: You know. It's so important everybody, that you get focused,
- 9:07Speaker 2: that you aim for something, that you dream of something,
- 9:10Speaker 2: that you aspire to something.
- 9:12Speaker 6: But it's the most the best thing you can do.
- 9:14Speaker 6: After you do all that, Man, get God involved in it.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Man, talk to him. I mean, why would you not
- 9:20Speaker 2: what you got to lose? You ain't got to go
- 9:22Speaker 2: down there and make no big scene and run laps
- 9:25Speaker 2: around the church and run up there and throw yourself
- 9:27Speaker 2: on the altar and scream and flip over and throw
- 9:30Speaker 2: money in the ad.
- 9:31Speaker 6: You ain't got to do that.
- 9:32Speaker 2: This you and God, man, This you and God. You
- 9:35Speaker 2: know you got to serve and praise Him the way
- 9:37Speaker 2: you do it. You gotta let nobody else tell you
- 9:39Speaker 2: how it's done. It's a personal relationship. People kill me
- 9:42Speaker 2: if you don't do it this way. If you don't
- 9:44Speaker 2: come here to this church and you don't run around
- 9:46Speaker 2: in this circle and you don't get flipped in an
- 9:48Speaker 2: you don't, Hey man, you better go have a relationship
- 9:50Speaker 2: with God. See what that's about, you understand, or nobody
- 9:53Speaker 2: throw you off with all that? All right, all right,
- 9:55Speaker 2: y'all talk to him. He loved to hear from you.
- 9:56Speaker 6: Today.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening.
- 9:59Speaker 6: Morning, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Let me have
- 10:04Speaker 6: your attention. Please.
- 10:05Speaker 2: I don't know if you realize it, but today is
- 10:08Speaker 2: another new day, brand new opportunity.
- 10:11Speaker 1: That sun it's up again.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Again, without fail, it shows up every day at his will.
- 10:23Speaker 2: We have the nerve to be here and not recognize
- 10:27Speaker 2: the fact that there's a power, a source so great
- 10:32Speaker 2: that we have nothing to do with it.
- 10:34Speaker 6: But yet we should appreciate it. We really really should, man,
- 10:38Speaker 6: and I do it.
- 10:38Speaker 2: And I just want to acknowledge that today is a
- 10:40Speaker 2: new day, that today is the day that the Lord
- 10:43Speaker 2: has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
- 10:45Speaker 2: I'm just glad, man. I don't know what else to
- 10:48Speaker 2: say to y'all. And please, man, stop saying that you're
- 10:51Speaker 2: not a mourning person. Stop saying you get up on
- 10:54Speaker 2: the wrong side of bed. Why don't you open up
- 10:57Speaker 2: your mouth and be grateful that you are a morning person,
- 11:00Speaker 2: that you got up this morning, whatever side of the
- 11:04Speaker 2: bed you got on, at least you got up. Somebody
- 11:06Speaker 2: didn't wake up this morning. Somebody was here yesterday ain't
- 11:09Speaker 2: here today. I don't know why you don't get that
- 11:12Speaker 2: I'm not a morning person. Ain't that the gold to
- 11:14Speaker 2: get to the next morning? And then He give you
- 11:17Speaker 2: the grace and dignity to get here. He give you
- 11:20Speaker 2: this huge blessing and then you get here. Now you
- 11:22Speaker 2: can blind the morning person.
- 11:24Speaker 6: We'll lay that in.
- 11:26Speaker 3: He go on.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Let the whole morning go mat matter of fact, you
- 11:29Speaker 2: don't get up to now now when you do get dressed,
- 11:34Speaker 2: when you go down to that job that you ain't
- 11:36Speaker 2: got no more, and you got to turn in that
- 11:39Speaker 2: car that you can't pay for, and they come and
- 11:42Speaker 2: put that sheriff's notification on that door that you can't
- 11:45Speaker 2: afford because you don't want to be a morning person.
- 11:49Speaker 2: It's a trickle down in faith, and it starts with
- 11:53Speaker 2: just simply being grateful for waking up. Because if you
- 11:56Speaker 2: lose that, I can't tell you the stuff that's gonna follow.
- 12:00Speaker 2: You better get glad about waken I'm sorry, Junior, I'm
- 12:03Speaker 2: taking a little extra time my apotomies, but.
- 12:05Speaker 6: I'm old one, y'all see you because I just realized.
- 12:08Speaker 2: The trickle down effect of not being grateful in the morning.
- 12:11Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be a morning person.
- 12:13Speaker 1: What lay that is?
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you go to work around ten thirty, eleven o'clock
- 12:18Speaker 2: when you feel like it, and watch what happened.
- 12:20Speaker 6: They're gonna give you a little slip of paper.
- 12:22Speaker 2: It's gonna have a pink tone to it, and it's
- 12:26Speaker 2: gonna all go down the hill from now now you're
- 12:28Speaker 2: gonna be able to go and get yourself some unemploy man.
- 12:30Speaker 2: But that's gonna be a third of what you're already
- 12:32Speaker 2: struggling on.
- 12:34Speaker 6: Third what you're already struggling on and nah it starts
- 12:38Speaker 6: to happen. Lord he Mar Junior. I'm sorry, man, go.
- 12:41Speaker 1: You got anything?
- 12:42Speaker 6: Man, No, I think you're absolutely right. Man, be a
- 12:45Speaker 6: morning person. Be grateful. Man, you can back, you can
- 12:47Speaker 6: have my condition. Hell, I got to be grateful every morning.
- 12:50Speaker 8: I ain't in no hospital, man, I'm doing well. Are
- 12:53Speaker 8: my energies up?
- 12:54Speaker 6: I'm glad to be at work. Man. It ain't in
- 12:56Speaker 6: no hospital. Well I'm Tommy. Yeah, I'm on on in here.
- 13:01Speaker 6: You ain't in the hospital. What cancer free? See help?
- 13:04Speaker 8: Yeah, you're absolutely right, be grateful.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I ain't in How I've been to the hospital more
- 13:10Speaker 2: times this year that I've gone in my entire life
- 13:14Speaker 2: put together. Since last November to this month right here,
- 13:18Speaker 2: I've been to the hospital more times than I've been
- 13:20Speaker 2: in my total life. And guess what, I got a
- 13:23Speaker 2: clean bill of health. Man, Thank you heavenly fall because
- 13:26Speaker 2: that's good. Because the medical report said I was sick.
- 13:30Speaker 2: He said, No, you ain't.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Believe right. What coming up in thirty two minutes after
- 13:38Speaker 1: the hour and Pastor and deacon are here for church complaints.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening morning show. It is time
- 13:47Speaker 1: now for Reverend Motown and deacon death, jam and church complaint.
- 13:52Speaker 2: We well gatherful, Yeah, we gather in this more those
- 14:00Speaker 2: partificiously way, and we montificate in the bowels.
- 14:08Speaker 6: Of longevity.
- 14:12Speaker 2: We loosen the grip of damnation, holding on to salvation.
- 14:22Speaker 2: We indemnify, glorify, magnify, and spotify and spotify all things
- 14:35Speaker 2: that are musical to our ears.
- 14:39Speaker 6: We let us all be.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Gretoriously gratuitously. Oh Lord, he mess ain't a strong will Well,
- 14:54Speaker 2: come on, deacon with these church glory.
- 14:58Speaker 6: All right, we have an shit with one of our
- 15:01Speaker 6: celebrity deacons.
- 15:02Speaker 9: You may have to speak with him. They want you
- 15:06Speaker 9: to talk to deacons to kill on me. He's gotten
- 15:09Speaker 9: caught up with these kids fashion. He's been putting on
- 15:12Speaker 9: skinny jeans, and a couple of days ago he couldn't
- 15:16Speaker 9: get out and Deacon Charles Barkley had to cut the
- 15:18Speaker 9: jeans off of him.
- 15:21Speaker 6: You're gonna have to have a conversation with deacons to
- 15:24Speaker 6: kill on me.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Well, I'd go to bring something to your attention of
- 15:29Speaker 2: those were not skinny jeans. Those will leave our loose
- 15:34Speaker 2: fit boot cut. Just when they slid them on his
- 15:40Speaker 2: big ass. They came cross as skinny jeans. We are
- 15:47Speaker 2: trying to find now we're down at the h what
- 15:51Speaker 2: is this company all seen on TV?
- 15:54Speaker 6: Or got to close for lumberjacks or start with a D.
- 16:03Speaker 2: We're trying to find the loof to see if they
- 16:07Speaker 2: got something for Shaq to.
- 16:08Speaker 6: Well number jack clothes more big side down it big
- 16:14Speaker 6: and tall. Lets look at this all right? All right,
- 16:17Speaker 6: moving on?
- 16:18Speaker 9: We have them I situated here. The Eastern Stars have
- 16:22Speaker 9: started a new membership. Now, sinister, why Nita Dixon is
- 16:25Speaker 9: entering the process. She says they are pleasing her like
- 16:30Speaker 9: a sorority. They got her shelling peas at midnight, cleaning
- 16:34Speaker 9: shiplings and washing base boars. She wants you to step
- 16:37Speaker 9: in and say something because she's about to drop line.
- 16:39Speaker 6: That's what she says. He about to. We gonna leave
- 16:42Speaker 6: them Eastern Stars alone.
- 16:44Speaker 10: Deacon, you go be in a situation you're not fully
- 16:49Speaker 10: a well of most in the Star affiliated with the Masons,

- 16:57Speaker 10: problems on yourself because see you down deconsole, you fires
- 17:02Speaker 10: off without thinking it through.
- 17:06Speaker 2: What to do is have them coming from us because
- 17:11Speaker 2: you don't know who they are. Because they disguised and
- 17:16Speaker 2: they being walkers and canes and they look like they're harmless.
- 17:21Speaker 2: When all of a sudden, all he'll break loose.
- 17:24Speaker 6: Oh okay, I didn't know.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 17:27Speaker 6: No, you don't. Yeah, I'm sorry to all.
- 17:33Speaker 3: I can move on.
- 17:35Speaker 9: Okay, I'm letting your damn mouth. But here's another group
- 17:39Speaker 9: we need to deal with. We have a new ministry
- 17:41Speaker 9: that has established, the Karen Ministry.
- 17:44Speaker 6: It's eight white women who are members of the j
- 17:47Speaker 6: p j J.
- 17:48Speaker 9: Now they mission is to get out to get people
- 17:51Speaker 9: to understand their point of view. Now, one of them
- 17:54Speaker 9: told Sister Regina Haywood she wasn't supposed to be in
- 17:58Speaker 9: the church kitchen after church, and Sister Regina whooped up behind.
- 18:02Speaker 6: All through that kitchen. You're gonna have to talk to
- 18:05Speaker 6: the Karen Minister.
- 18:06Speaker 3: They are.
- 18:07Speaker 5: No.
- 18:08Speaker 2: We we are welcoming the Karen Committee to go through
- 18:15Speaker 2: neighborhoods everywhere and remind other Karens and like minded white
- 18:22Speaker 2: folk what the costs of voting for Donald Trump has done. No,
- 18:31Speaker 2: he done got real jiggy weeded because he in the
- 18:34Speaker 2: White House. But y'all ain't in the White House. Y'all
- 18:39Speaker 2: out here by our house, and all outside our house
- 18:44Speaker 2: ain't number.
- 18:46Speaker 6: That's right.
- 18:48Speaker 2: We're asking the Karens to continue to point out another fine,
- 18:54Speaker 2: satisfying racial moment.
- 18:57Speaker 6: Keep pointing them.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Out to us so we can keep on all right,

- 20:10Speaker 2: what made it extra ignor it was they pinned it
- 20:13Speaker 2: on his lapail. Read you know he can point to
- 20:20Speaker 2: it and they take it off and read it. Now
- 20:22Speaker 2: he still can't get on no plane or nothing, but
- 20:25Speaker 2: at least he's sitting there lounge and eating cotton candy,
- 20:30Speaker 2: singing old spiritual.
- 20:38Speaker 1: The ignorance never ever stops on this show because coming
- 20:41Speaker 1: up next to the das to Selo, our chief Love
- 20:45Speaker 1: Officers Steve Harvey in the building. Right after that, you're
- 20:49Speaker 1: listening Harvey Morning Show coming up at the top of
- 20:54Speaker 1: the hour and entertainment news for were NBA coach Phil
- 20:57Speaker 1: Jackson says he hasn't watched an NBA game since twenty
- 21:01Speaker 1: twenty because of Black Lives Matter signage. What we'll talk
- 21:07Speaker 1: about that, King Charles premieres this fall on CNN with
- 21:12Speaker 1: Gail King and Charles Barkley.
- 21:15Speaker 3: What they do?
- 21:16Speaker 1: Okay, we talked about that, Yeah, and I youer sadly
- 21:21Speaker 1: did farewell to Snowfall and Franklin sat with tons of
- 21:25Speaker 1: praise for Demson Idriss. That's all coming up at the
- 21:29Speaker 1: top of the hour, But right now it is time
- 21:32Speaker 1: to ask the clo. This runs from anonymous in Pennsylvania
- 21:38Speaker 1: who writes, my husband is a former pastor that has
- 21:41Speaker 1: put out the church. He was put out the church
- 21:43Speaker 1: for allegedly stealing money. I have a nice jewelry and
- 21:47Speaker 1: I have other luxuries. But my husband earned a great
- 21:50Speaker 1: salary for what he did, so I shouldn't have to
- 21:52Speaker 1: stop wearing my nice things to make people stop gossiping.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Why is my husband asking me to do this?
- 22:00Speaker 6: Well, because your husband know where the jewelry.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Come from from his nice salary church.
- 22:07Speaker 2: No, his nice salary appears so nice because he was stealing.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, this is fact. Yeah he was still that
- 22:16Speaker 2: that salary wasn't that nice? Now you want to stop
- 22:21Speaker 2: wearing He got to put out the church. Now what
- 22:23Speaker 2: where y'all at? Which is jewelry on?
- 22:24Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 22:26Speaker 2: See, what you're gonna have to do is you're gonna
- 22:27Speaker 2: stop wearing your jewelry to dinner when y'all go to
- 22:30Speaker 2: dinner stuff. But you all up at another church. Now
- 22:32Speaker 2: you got to put out this one church. Now you
- 22:34Speaker 2: over here at this church. They know how y'all got
- 22:36Speaker 2: over here. He said, you got to quit wearing this
- 22:40Speaker 2: stuff to remind people of just how much I stole.
- 22:47Speaker 2: That's all he's saying.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I can't keep I can't keep looking at you coming
- 22:55Speaker 2: here with all these weeks are stealing.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Out from the church. Yeah, wow, sad? All right, put
- 23:06Speaker 1: on your costume jewelry. All right? Uh Pasha and white
- 23:10Speaker 1: Plaine says, my boyfriend and I lived together and his
- 23:13Speaker 1: stepsister came to stay with us and brought a friend.
- 23:17Speaker 1: My man did not mind at all because a friend
- 23:19Speaker 1: was built like Meg the Stallion. Oh oh, the weekend
- 23:23Speaker 1: was fine. But he's mad at me because I was
- 23:26Speaker 1: kind of rude. Was I wrong for wanting to know beforehand?
- 23:29Speaker 1: Who's coming?
- 23:30Speaker 6: Well, it's your house.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you got every right to set rules and boundaries
- 23:35Speaker 2: and know you have got to let nobody live in
- 23:37Speaker 2: your house. You don't want to meg up in there
- 23:39Speaker 2: creating competition. Who meg up in there? Got all eyes?
- 23:44Speaker 6: Owed me?
- 23:45Speaker 2: Apple bottlemell, you wanna bite? I didn't want to go
- 23:52Speaker 2: get on another fly?
- 23:57Speaker 6: Hold up, that's the next part.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Megan Finn to come and stay with us tonight style
- 24:08Speaker 2: didn't make me want a bite.
- 24:10Speaker 6: Hold up all right.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Wendy in Talladega says, I'm sleeping with the man I
- 24:19Speaker 1: work with. I set myself roses to make him think
- 24:22Speaker 1: they were from another man. He stopped talking to me,
- 24:26Speaker 1: so it didn't work. Should I admit what I did?
- 24:29Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 24:29Speaker 2: I mean it backfired. He doesn't stop talking to you
- 24:33Speaker 2: because he figured you sleeping with somebody else. Now, Hello,
- 24:36Speaker 2: he didn't want that. He thought he had some solo.
- 24:40Speaker 2: See y'all, He'll say what y'all do now. Tricks is
- 24:45Speaker 2: for kids, silly rabbit, They say what y'all do?
- 24:51Speaker 6: See you?
- 24:51Speaker 2: If you ain't never been tricky before, you can't start
- 24:54Speaker 2: this as an adult.
- 24:59Speaker 6: You have to have been tricky as a child.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Who's tricky as a child.
- 25:05Speaker 6: I've been lying, uh huh every since? Yeah, I could talk.
- 25:14Speaker 1: That's not being.
- 25:21Speaker 5: Steve.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Do your name? Little Stevie lied about that.
- 25:29Speaker 6: Because DNC.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I don't know if litile Steve had done something that's
- 25:33Speaker 2: gonna get a little Stevie asked in trouble. So if
- 25:36Speaker 2: you don't know I'm Steve, why would I admit to be.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I've lied to all the parents on the street. Steve,
- 25:49Speaker 2: you've seen Ricky. Uh uh, I know Ricky over there
- 25:53Speaker 2: behind the tree.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I know your mom knew when you were lying. I
- 25:57Speaker 1: know she did, of course your mom.
- 25:59Speaker 6: No, yes, she did.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Well, you got one more time to lie to me,
- 26:05Speaker 2: and well I figured I wasn't gonna lie just one
- 26:08Speaker 2: more time so that what didn't apply to me. You
- 26:14Speaker 2: got one more time to lie to me, Well, I'm
- 26:16Speaker 2: fineling just I'm finna be so repetitive with them.
- 26:19Speaker 6: You must not be talking to me.
- 26:22Speaker 5: She's gonna be exhausted from the beating, from counting the
- 26:25Speaker 5: lies because.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Because I said one more, well, here go ten before noon,
- 26:37Speaker 2: we ain't got the afternoon?
- 26:39Speaker 6: Who lost this key? On top of this can of spam?
- 26:46Speaker 6: I didn't even I didn't even know. We hate spam?
- 26:52Speaker 3: You know?
- 26:52Speaker 2: Good? Hell, well we eat spam. I just made you
- 26:55Speaker 2: a spam sandwich yesterday. Is that what that was? God?
- 27:01Speaker 1: Damn liar?
- 27:04Speaker 6: Dare you show care cook? Because I show, I swear
- 27:06Speaker 6: to God, I doesn't.
- 27:08Speaker 1: What the truth will do.
- 27:11Speaker 4: For me?
- 27:13Speaker 6: All right?
- 27:14Speaker 1: Last one, Steve, Last one. This is from Maryland and Augusta,
- 27:18Speaker 1: who writes, I'm thirty two years old and I have
- 27:20Speaker 1: four guys that I'm seeing. I am dating with a purpose,
- 27:23Speaker 1: but none of them want to get married. Do I
- 27:26Speaker 1: keep enjoying myself with them in the meantime or cut
- 27:28Speaker 1: them off now to make room for a man with
- 27:31Speaker 1: my same goals?
- 27:33Speaker 6: What do you think?
- 27:35Speaker 2: You describe the scenario, and in your question seems like
- 27:41Speaker 2: there is an answer. Uh huh, you got four guys
- 27:46Speaker 2: you date Yeah, you can't be giving you all to
- 27:49Speaker 2: any one of them, and any one of them can't
- 27:52Speaker 2: be giving you they all because your time is split
- 27:54Speaker 2: four ways. So now this game you play and you
- 27:58Speaker 2: talking about you and joining it, well, I guess they
- 28:01Speaker 2: are too, So why would they want to marry somebody
- 28:05Speaker 2: when they can get the milk without buying the cow?
- 28:09Speaker 2: Because all this enjoyment you have, and you better believe
- 28:11Speaker 2: they better be enjoying themselves somewhere for them being stuck
- 28:14Speaker 2: around this long. So now should you get rid of
- 28:17Speaker 2: all of them or find somebody that's like minded?
- 28:20Speaker 6: Why don't you?
- 28:21Speaker 2: You need to fix your mind first, because you don't
- 28:23Speaker 2: know what you want. You dating folk guys at once
- 28:27Speaker 2: and you think this is cool. That's this new generation though, y'all, y'all,
- 28:31Speaker 2: y'all got it twisted.
- 28:33Speaker 1: And one time in the past, how many what how
- 28:38Speaker 1: many women have you dated in the past? How many
- 28:40Speaker 1: at one time? Probably here comes a lie that's reason
- 28:46Speaker 1: a liek.
- 28:48Speaker 6: You want to go to break through? Yeah, I know,
- 28:51Speaker 6: I know one time probably at least the time we
- 28:55Speaker 6: gotta go, two three, you gotta go.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Oh, we've got to go it too.
- 29:01Speaker 6: She got a fullsher girls.
- 29:05Speaker 1: All right, and I've said that's our answer right there.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Coming up in the top of the hour, we'll have
- 29:12Speaker 1: some entertainment news for you right after this. You're listening
- 29:17Speaker 1: Hardy Morning Show. Well, Phil Jackson, we haven't heard from
- 29:22Speaker 1: him in a while. He is back in the news.
- 29:23Speaker 1: He's commonly known. We all know Phil Jackson as one
- 29:26Speaker 1: of the greatest coaches of the NBA with eleven championships. Well,
- 29:31Speaker 1: Phil recently did an interview with a Record executive Rick
- 29:35Speaker 1: Rubin and admitted that he has not watched an NBA
- 29:38Speaker 1: game since back in twenty twenty, when the players were
- 29:42Speaker 1: in the quote bubble in Orlando during the pandemic. He insinuated,
- 29:47Speaker 1: without directly saying the words, that when the NBA publicly
- 29:50Speaker 1: supported the Black Lives Matter movement, that was too much
- 29:53Speaker 1: for him. There's no doubt that what he's taught that,
- 29:56Speaker 1: what he's talking about is that, and social media has
- 30:00Speaker 1: been buzzing about it. Take a listen.
- 30:02Speaker 7: I watched some of the game evolved and decided, and
- 30:08Speaker 7: they went into the lockout year and they did something
- 30:11Speaker 7: that was kind of winky. They did a bubble down
- 30:14Speaker 7: in Orlando, and all the teams that could qualify and
- 30:17Speaker 7: went down there and stayed down there, no audience, and
- 30:20Speaker 7: they had things on their back, like you know, Justice,
- 30:23Speaker 7: and I made a little funny thing like you know,
- 30:28Speaker 7: Justice just went to the basket and Equal Opportunity just
- 30:32Speaker 7: knocked him down. And somebody had another name for a
- 30:37Speaker 7: guy who was Jersey in the back of the jersey
- 30:39Speaker 7: had some other slogan. So my grandkids thought that was
- 30:43Speaker 7: pretty funny to play up those names. So I couldn't
- 30:48Speaker 7: watch that. And the Lakers won, actually they won one
- 30:51Speaker 7: that year. And do you feel like it just made
- 30:55Speaker 7: little of the game, like it made it like a
- 30:57Speaker 7: side show. What do you think it was that turned
- 30:59Speaker 7: you off? But it was it was even at Slogan's
- 31:03Speaker 7: on the floor on the baseline.
- 31:06Speaker 6: It was catering.
- 31:09Speaker 7: It was trying to cater to an audience or trying
- 31:11Speaker 7: to bring a certain audience into play, and they didn't
- 31:15Speaker 7: know it was turning other people off. You know, people
- 31:18Speaker 7: want to see sports is non politiful.
- 31:24Speaker 2: You know, he was doing okay till he got there
- 31:26Speaker 2: with that explanation, you know, the nonequality throws Injustice to
- 31:34Speaker 2: the floor. He was he was doing okay right in there.
- 31:37Speaker 2: He hadn't really said anything, but then the stuff on
- 31:41Speaker 2: the floor and basketball is not political. We would love
- 31:45Speaker 2: to be able to play a game without race being involved.
- 31:49Speaker 2: We would love Phil Jackson to be able to go
- 31:52Speaker 2: to work without race being involved. We'd love to get
- 31:55Speaker 2: pulled over by the police without race being involved.
- 31:59Speaker 6: We would love to play our.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Music without race, to reach for our cell phone without race.
- 32:05Speaker 2: We love to walk around the back and check on
- 32:07Speaker 2: that grandmama's house without race involved. We love to walk
- 32:11Speaker 2: down the streets and drink ice tea with skittles and
- 32:13Speaker 2: not have race involved. We've loved well Hoodie and not
- 32:17Speaker 2: have race involved. We would love so many things to
- 32:22Speaker 2: not have race involved, but we do. Now your ass
- 32:29Speaker 2: don got old, and now you're making dumb ass statements
- 32:34Speaker 2: as great of a coach as you were, as as
- 32:38Speaker 2: good of a philosopher as you were, And now your
- 32:41Speaker 2: ass and got old inignant you and your little rednecker
- 32:44Speaker 2: ass kids. Them grandkids are yours, all of them. You
- 32:47Speaker 2: should have took the time to explain to them what
- 32:50Speaker 2: they were trying to do.
- 32:52Speaker 6: Yeah, but seein you ain't got enough sense to do that.
- 32:58Speaker 2: You wonna let your little dumb ass grandi instet up
- 33:00Speaker 2: in here past judgmental stuff that don't affect their life
- 33:03Speaker 2: because they don't know what racism is. You didn't take
- 33:06Speaker 2: the time to explain to them that all them black
- 33:09Speaker 2: people that gave you all that money and made it
- 33:12Speaker 2: possible for you to have all them championship rings, all
- 33:16Speaker 2: them black people that you then roll the whole career on.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Because you take them black people out the scenario, your
- 33:22Speaker 2: ass got zero ring, just regular.
- 33:28Speaker 6: You, just so that you might as well just gone
- 33:29Speaker 6: to Coldgate and start coaching.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, son, I don't.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Even know why we beat these people, kill me man,
- 33:41Speaker 2: once they get off somewhere and get disconnected, how they
- 33:44Speaker 2: how soon you forget, how quickly you forget.
- 33:49Speaker 8: The privilege.
- 33:52Speaker 1: To say that, Yeah, I dare we have to take
- 33:55Speaker 1: this league.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Of African American men cannot have social awareness about things
- 34:01Speaker 5: that are affecting them.
- 34:02Speaker 1: And their dare you.
- 34:04Speaker 2: That's the good thing about this generation of players right here.
- 34:08Speaker 2: They gonna make you, see them, They.
- 34:12Speaker 6: Gonna make you.
- 34:13Speaker 1: But we've been doing it.
- 34:15Speaker 2: We've been doing it since Jim Brown, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdude, Jabbah,
- 34:20Speaker 2: Muhammad Ali. We've been doing it since. We've been doing
- 34:26Speaker 2: it way back before you had color film. We been
- 34:30Speaker 2: doing it. We did it with Jacket Robinson. We did
- 34:33Speaker 2: it with the Boxer of so Much, Johnson, Jack Johnson.
- 34:40Speaker 2: We did it with Joe Lewis. We've been having that
- 34:44Speaker 2: take these sports and ram it back down, y'all, damn
- 34:48Speaker 2: throat man.
- 34:49Speaker 6: Because y'all what.
- 34:52Speaker 1: The Williams sisters.
- 34:55Speaker 2: How about the black people that had to go to war,
- 34:58Speaker 2: fought in the war, and then come and found.
- 35:00Speaker 6: Out they still couldn't sit at the lunch count Yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Really up here surviving and protecting your funky country and
- 35:09Speaker 2: then come back and can't sit down at the lunch county. Man,
- 35:12Speaker 2: Miss me, Phil, take your old ass somewhere and retire.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Quit talking, yes, quit getting on the radio, Stop doing shows.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Stop stop interjected about how black people feel, because you
- 35:24Speaker 2: do not know.
- 35:25Speaker 11: Yeah, you know, you know, Uncle Lot'll say he had
- 35:27Speaker 11: like Michael Jordan Needy coaching. You're not seeing what you doing?
- 35:34Speaker 6: What you're gonna tell.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Mike Colin Kaepernick.
- 35:41Speaker 6: And we can go on and on and on.
- 35:45Speaker 1: All right, Thank you, Steve, Thank you appreciated that one.
- 35:49Speaker 1: All right, Coming up at twenty minutes after the hour,
- 35:52Speaker 1: they were back to back. They were back to back
- 35:54Speaker 1: shootings in d C over the weekend, wounding a total
- 35:57Speaker 1: of eight people. We're gonna talk about right after this.
- 36:01Speaker 1: You're listening hard Morning Show. What a sad story. Eight people,
- 36:07Speaker 1: including a twelve year old girl, were injured in two
- 36:10Speaker 1: different shootings in southeast Washington, DC on Friday night. In
- 36:15Speaker 1: the first mass shooting, seven adult male victims were shot
- 36:19Speaker 1: shortly after ten pm and taken to area hospitals. A
- 36:24Speaker 1: Metro Police information officer reported that all seven victims are
- 36:28Speaker 1: in stable condition with non life threatening wounds. Minutes after
- 36:33Speaker 1: the first shooting, Then a second shooting occurred just minutes
- 36:37Speaker 1: away from the first shooting. A young female was shot
- 36:40Speaker 1: in her leg. Her injuries are also non life threatening.
- 36:43Speaker 1: This marks the one hundred and sixty ninth one hundred
- 36:47Speaker 1: and sixty ninth mass shooting in the US this year. Now,
- 36:51Speaker 1: this is according to the Gun Violence Archives April. Yeah,
- 36:56Speaker 1: it's just April exactly. We're just into the fourth month
- 36:59Speaker 1: of this year. We have more to go. This is terrible,
- 37:02Speaker 1: it's terrible, and any shooting with more than four victims
- 37:06Speaker 1: is now classified as a mass shooting.
- 37:10Speaker 5: The government leaders, they don't care, they don't Yeah, they
- 37:14Speaker 5: don't want to change.
- 37:15Speaker 6: They're changing.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Guns exactly right. College, they're not gonna do nothing about it.
- 37:21Speaker 2: We can sit up here and crying all they taking
- 37:24Speaker 2: the money from the NI and that's all that matter.
- 37:27Speaker 2: And they're not gonna stop taking the money. And I'm
- 37:29Speaker 2: gonna stop asking them to stop taking the money because they're.
- 37:31Speaker 6: Not, because they're not.
- 37:32Speaker 5: They just had an NRA convention in Indianapolis, what a
- 37:35Speaker 5: week or two weeks last weekend, right, all of those
- 37:40Speaker 5: leaders are there, fresh off the shootings in Nashville, fresh
- 37:43Speaker 5: off of all of this. They still go to the
- 37:46Speaker 5: n RAD, still go to these conventions and hold on
- 37:49Speaker 5: to the Second Amendment.
- 37:50Speaker 1: They don't want to change it.
- 37:52Speaker 6: They don't want to change.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Gun laws, red flag laws, nothing to protect American citizens.
- 37:58Speaker 1: It's just baffling how many people got it for them
- 38:01Speaker 1: to wake up, many people as many that die as
- 38:06Speaker 1: do die parents.
- 38:09Speaker 6: Yeah, I have an idea, but it'll cost me my
- 38:15Speaker 6: entire career.
- 38:17Speaker 1: That Yeah, all right, we talked about this a couple
- 38:19Speaker 1: of weeks ago. We're moving on to a little more
- 38:21Speaker 1: pleasant things. About a couple of weeks ago, we talked
- 38:25Speaker 1: about this. It is official now, Charles Barkley and Gail
- 38:28Speaker 1: King will be the host of a CNN show that
- 38:32Speaker 1: will premiere this fall and air on Wednesday nights at
- 38:35Speaker 1: nine pm. Gail joined Barkley on Saturday during T and
- 38:39Speaker 1: t's pregame show to make the announcement and talk about
- 38:42Speaker 1: the new show, which will cover politics. It will cover
- 38:44Speaker 1: current new topics, and Gail said the show won't always
- 38:47Speaker 1: be so heavy. It might get into food, it might
- 38:50Speaker 1: get into pop culture and whatever else they want to
- 38:53Speaker 1: touch on that's in the news cycle that week. And
- 38:56Speaker 1: the best part I guess is the name of the show,
- 38:59Speaker 1: and that's Charles.
- 39:03Speaker 8: Okay, yeah, my question.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I'm Watchueen. Gail got to see this. Yeah, it looks
- 39:12Speaker 1: like it's gonna be fun. Look look out for it
- 39:15Speaker 1: this fall. Now, coming up next, Sister Odell is here.
- 39:18Speaker 1: We'll talk to her right after this. You're listening morning show.
- 39:24Speaker 1: So sister Odell is here. Good morning, Sister Hodel to today.
- 39:50Speaker 6: We all right, all right, good morning? Is everyone?
- 40:00Speaker 4: Good?
- 40:03Speaker 10: D dude?
- 40:04Speaker 1: What is it, Sharon?
- 40:05Speaker 7: What's going on?
- 40:06Speaker 4: Well?
- 40:06Speaker 1: You know what, I just wanted to quickly get your
- 40:08Speaker 1: opinion on this. You know NFL player Jalen Hurts, right,
- 40:12Speaker 1: he just signed that mega contract.
- 40:14Speaker 3: You know that.
- 40:16Speaker 1: He's featured on the May June cover of Essence magazine.
- 40:19Speaker 1: He praises black women, but most importantly, Sister Odell, he
- 40:24Speaker 1: praises his grandmother Cindy. He calls her Granny Cindy. In
- 40:28Speaker 1: his Essence article, Jalen says he loves him some Granny Cindy,
- 40:32Speaker 1: and she's a staple of his spirituality, all right. He
- 40:36Speaker 1: said she always told him to ask God for what
- 40:40Speaker 1: he wants and ask God for what he needs. She
- 40:42Speaker 1: said that God already knows, but it's okay to say
- 40:45Speaker 1: it in a prayer. He also said the Granny Cindy
- 40:47Speaker 1: is a great cook, and he won't eat chitterling, chitlins
- 40:51Speaker 1: and pig feet unless Granny Cindy cooks them, unless she
- 40:55Speaker 1: makes them. So do you have any grandchildren, Sister Odell?
- 40:58Speaker 2: I mean, you see how well I knowed his I
- 41:02Speaker 2: didn't know Cindy, but I knowed her mama.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Oh what was her mother's name? We call it b
- 41:08Speaker 1: ill bm That.
- 41:12Speaker 6: Was a big Mama Hurt.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Hurt. Yeah, we knew her that way. You know, Jayleen's
- 41:18Speaker 2: great great grand mama named big Mama Hurt and then
- 41:22Speaker 2: she had Cindy, and then Cindy had Jayleen Mama uh
- 41:27Speaker 2: and then that's when Jayleen wrote the letter man, you know,
- 41:32Speaker 2: and being big Mama taught her how to make u
- 41:35Speaker 2: chiindlers and pig feet, oh okay, which.
- 41:39Speaker 6: The special recipe been passed down.
- 41:42Speaker 2: And he wrote that letter for black women that was brutal,
- 41:45Speaker 2: funny little things that he should have did.
- 41:48Speaker 6: He wasn't gonna write it about white women.
- 41:52Speaker 1: That part because because.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Big Mama Hurt was dark at midnight. I'ma tell you
- 41:57Speaker 2: that right now, wasn't fitna be about white women stuff.
- 42:03Speaker 1: So do you have grandchildren, you have a favorite?
- 42:06Speaker 2: I don't want to talk about grand kids because you
- 42:08Speaker 2: know this is not just gonna take away from what
- 42:11Speaker 2: the real truth you need to aditions were coming up
- 42:14Speaker 2: with the real troop. The reason he wrote about black women,
- 42:16Speaker 2: this is doing what is he writing about white women?
- 42:18Speaker 6: Folks?
- 42:19Speaker 2: Let's just talk about their contribution. They ain't dead, nothing
- 42:22Speaker 2: to make a flag, Betsy Ross that line, Helper didn't
- 42:25Speaker 2: make no flag. That flag was not raised made by
- 42:30Speaker 2: Betsy Ross. I'm telling you right now, white folks is
- 42:35Speaker 2: taking credit for things they never did.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Well, who made it? Who made the flag of Betsy Ross.
- 42:41Speaker 6: Didn't Big Mama Hurt made that flag.
- 42:45Speaker 2: See that while y'all in here talking about it, they're
- 42:47Speaker 2: gonna give the credit to Betsy Ross.
- 42:51Speaker 1: That's what the history books say, uh.
- 42:53Speaker 6: Her name something else they give white women credit for
- 42:56Speaker 6: thank or something.
- 43:00Speaker 1: In her makeup empire. That's the first thing that came
- 43:02Speaker 1: to my mind.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Girls, see that, right, they stole that name. That was
- 43:08Speaker 2: an Esther Claudean and they changed it to stey Lauda
- 43:14Speaker 2: to make it sound French. That was Esther Claudean, And
- 43:18Speaker 2: she had to make up owl. She put that on
- 43:20Speaker 2: cause that's what she wanted. Church sweating in them fields
- 43:25Speaker 2: all day long, and she was coming there just looking
- 43:28Speaker 2: just as pretty. And then that white woman saw and
- 43:31Speaker 2: then stole the whole idea from her and then called
- 43:34Speaker 2: it a stey Lauder.
- 43:35Speaker 6: It's Esther Claudean, helfa.
- 43:41Speaker 1: The Suffragettes, who you know, fought for the right for
- 43:43Speaker 1: women to get voting rights and all of that. The Suffragettes,
- 43:48Speaker 1: you know, the white women, the suffragette.
- 43:50Speaker 6: Ain't they got a lot of nerve talking about suffer.
- 43:52Speaker 6: What the hell they know about self?
- 43:56Speaker 2: Suffragets should have called ass for less because that's what
- 44:01Speaker 2: they did, a bunch of white women talking about we
- 44:07Speaker 2: to suffer just where you suffer.
- 44:10Speaker 1: The Nephew with this prank phone call for today is
- 44:12Speaker 1: up next right after this shell you're listening morning show, well,
- 44:22Speaker 1: coming up at about four minutes after the hour. It's
- 44:24Speaker 1: my Strawberry letter for today and the subject is fighting
- 44:27Speaker 1: the power every day. And we'll get into that in
- 44:31Speaker 1: just a few find out what that's all about. But
- 44:34Speaker 1: right now it is time for the nephew and the
- 44:36Speaker 1: prank phone call for today. Neph what you got for
- 44:39Speaker 1: us today?
- 44:40Speaker 9: Listen Monday shirt and I got to be extra stupid
- 44:42Speaker 9: today this Monday morning.
- 44:44Speaker 6: You're gonna drop it on you.
- 44:46Speaker 3: You know.
- 44:46Speaker 9: I'm building my stupid up, starting on a high stupid
- 44:50Speaker 9: and just keep going because Saraday, I'm in feel it,
- 44:53Speaker 9: you know, So I got to beat I just have
- 44:55Speaker 9: to start my stupid hout at the beginning of the
- 44:57Speaker 9: week and get it going. So from right here is
- 45:01Speaker 9: when you're sat A question for you, sure, when when
- 45:05Speaker 9: did you stop?
- 45:08Speaker 6: Well stop? I just start when I when I when
- 45:12Speaker 6: it's when it's a week.
- 45:13Speaker 12: That I got to perform. I just started everything and
- 45:16Speaker 12: get it on a high level. Look like that has
- 45:18Speaker 12: nothing to do with the question I asked. My question was,
- 45:21Speaker 12: whenever you stop being stupid I have I mean, I
- 45:25Speaker 12: take I take it down or not.
- 45:26Speaker 9: Sometimes over the weekend, I might bring it down, but
- 45:29Speaker 9: then I'm you know, I got to take it back up.
- 45:32Speaker 6: Now, you see what I'm saying.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I know we take it a lot of time
- 45:36Speaker 2: with this, but I'm trying to get to the understanding.
- 45:38Speaker 2: So you really think, because you are unaware of your
- 45:41Speaker 2: stupidity that it is that's what you call taking it down?
- 45:46Speaker 1: Well, you know you can't.
- 45:47Speaker 6: It's hard to keep it up on a high level.
- 45:49Speaker 6: I mean, I'm bringing down middle It's got to be Listen.
- 45:55Speaker 11: If I'm fifty three thousand feet in the ass and
- 45:58Speaker 11: I take it down to fifty, you know fifty thousand,
- 46:01Speaker 11: ain't I still up?
- 46:02Speaker 6: There's hell yes, that.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Part of Junior, that part I like you.
- 46:10Speaker 6: It's still a level. I'm not gonna sit here and
- 46:13Speaker 6: go back and forth, y'all. Listen.
- 46:14Speaker 9: It's levels of stupidity, all right, And I'm on a
- 46:17Speaker 9: certain level today. I'm trying to start it on a
- 46:19Speaker 9: high level today. You this is you're the race against yourself.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Have you ever heard that you're at the book by
- 46:27Speaker 2: Ricky Minor, great book title, Ain't no traffic on the
- 46:32Speaker 2: extra mile? You so extra damn stupid that you out
- 46:39Speaker 2: there by yourself.
- 46:41Speaker 6: Ain't no traffic? God, you You're only wrong, you know,
- 46:47Speaker 6: and I accept that. I will accept that.

- 49:48Speaker 3: I'm not at liberty to give that information.
- 49:51Speaker 4: This is some book, some real books. Can you put

- 50:16Speaker 4: can be on my way over there.

- 51:19Speaker 4: Okay Tommy, what's going on? Your worker called me to

- 51:29Speaker 4: Too loud? And I asked this address and he won't
- 51:32Speaker 4: give it to me. And I'm on my way down there,
- 51:34Speaker 4: and I'm about to call my husband since he won't
- 51:37Speaker 4: answer your call. And I did hear him talking to
- 51:39Speaker 4: you in the background?
- 51:40Speaker 3: Okay, Well, did you hear who he was talking to.
- 51:44Speaker 4: No, I didn't.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Okay, he was talking to me. But do you know
- 51:47Speaker 3: who I am? No?
- 51:49Speaker 4: I don't and I don't really care.
- 51:51Speaker 3: But do you know Tommy at all?
- 51:55Speaker 4: Do I know Tommy?
- 51:56Speaker 1: No?

- 52:17Speaker 3: Oh, come on tell me me, come on.
- 52:19Speaker 4: Stay funny. It's not funny, Tommy, it's.

- 54:03Speaker 6: got it for you. Here it is Strawberry Letter.
- 54:06Speaker 1: All right, thank you. Nephew's subject fighting the Power every Day.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Dear Stephen Shirley. I've been married for almost five years,
- 54:15Speaker 1: but I really got to know my husband during the
- 54:17Speaker 1: pandemic when we had a lot of time to ourselves.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I love everything about him, from the top of his
- 54:24Speaker 1: head down to the big bunions on his feet. My
- 54:27Speaker 1: only issue that is driving me crazy is how white
- 54:31Speaker 1: he becomes when he is at work around our neighbors
- 54:34Speaker 1: and at restaurants. He got a promotion on his job
- 54:37Speaker 1: right before everyone started working from home back in twenty twenty,
- 54:41Speaker 1: and I was so happy for him, and I threw
- 54:43Speaker 1: him a small dinner and had napkins printed with h
- 54:47Speaker 1: NIC on them. Steve, I am sure you know exactly
- 54:52Speaker 1: what that means. And you've never been offended by being
- 54:55Speaker 1: called that. Well, my husband was offended and wouldn't let
- 54:59Speaker 1: me use the nat pupkins. While we were working from
- 55:01Speaker 1: home for almost a year, I noticed a change and
- 55:04Speaker 1: how he talked and how he acted on a lot
- 55:08Speaker 1: of the video conferences with his coworkers. He was trying
- 55:11Speaker 1: to use a lot of big words and sound proper,
- 55:14Speaker 1: but it sounded strange with all of the broken English
- 55:17Speaker 1: he normally uses. I know he was showing out when
- 55:19Speaker 1: he referred to one of the new hires as the
- 55:22Speaker 1: new gal. I've told him to be himself and everyone
- 55:25Speaker 1: will still like him, but he thinks he needs to
- 55:28Speaker 1: sound and act like them to be on their level.
- 55:31Speaker 1: His two black homeboys joked with him about how white
- 55:34Speaker 1: he acted at a bar and then went back to
- 55:37Speaker 1: being a black man on the baseball basketball court. My
- 55:40Speaker 1: husband said, he's fighting the power every day, But what
- 55:43Speaker 1: is he even talking about. I'm writing you because he's
- 55:47Speaker 1: getting whiter by the day, and now he wants to
- 55:49Speaker 1: go wig shopping with me. If he asked me to
- 55:52Speaker 1: go blonde, I'm knocking him out. How do I get
- 55:55Speaker 1: my country soulful bearded spades playing backbreaking husband and back well?
- 56:01Speaker 1: I mean, I think you still have your husband. I
- 56:03Speaker 1: don't think he's gone anywhere. You just have different versions
- 56:07Speaker 1: of the man. I mean, you know, we all change
- 56:10Speaker 1: up to some degree depending on the situation. I mean
- 56:14Speaker 1: we all do it. And why are you all up
- 56:17Speaker 1: in your husband's business like that anyway? I mean, his
- 56:20Speaker 1: it's his business, his work. If it's working for him
- 56:22Speaker 1: at work, then let him do him and you just
- 56:25Speaker 1: do you. I mean, who's this harming? It looks like
- 56:27Speaker 1: you're making a problem where there is none, And it
- 56:30Speaker 1: sounds like your husband has found what works for him
- 56:32Speaker 1: at work. And he's working it. As long as he's
- 56:35Speaker 1: treating you well and doing the things that make you happy,
- 56:39Speaker 1: what is the problem? Or I mean, I don't get it.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Hasn't he been at the job for a long time?
- 56:46Speaker 1: You said he just got a promotion. But he's been
- 56:48Speaker 1: doing this what he does for a long time. And
- 56:51Speaker 1: to answer your question, yes, every black man and black
- 56:54Speaker 1: person in the world knows what hnic means. And it's
- 56:59Speaker 1: not a good thing. Necessarily. It's a sarcastic joke at best.
- 57:03Speaker 1: And that's what your husband didn't think was funny, and
- 57:06Speaker 1: he didn't want the napkins at the party. It's not
- 57:08Speaker 1: flattering and it can be offensive. It is offensive. How
- 57:12Speaker 1: is it that no one else thinks it's funny but
- 57:15Speaker 1: you and maybe his two black homeboys. You said, I
- 57:20Speaker 1: don't know anyone who thinks it's funny unless someone's laughing
- 57:23Speaker 1: behind their back. I just say, leave him alone. You
- 57:25Speaker 1: don't have to agree with what he's doing, but you
- 57:28Speaker 1: don't have to ridicule him. You don't have to make
- 57:30Speaker 1: fun of him either. As long as he's being real
- 57:32Speaker 1: with you, that's all that should matter. You don't have
- 57:34Speaker 1: to be his mother or his Judge, Steve.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Well, Damn Shelley. Yes, we read two different letters Well
- 57:44Speaker 2: fighting the power every day. I have some mixed emotions
- 57:48Speaker 2: about this letter. I'm gonna give a very conflicting answer
- 57:53Speaker 2: because it's a very conflicting situation, because I can see
- 57:57Speaker 2: both sides of this, and I've all I also know
- 58:00Speaker 2: the consequences of both sides too. I will give you
- 58:05Speaker 2: a share of what I'm thinking. Been married for five years,
- 58:10Speaker 2: but you really got to know him during the pandemic.
- 58:12Speaker 2: You love everything about him, from the top of his
- 58:14Speaker 2: head to his toes. The issue that you have is
- 58:18Speaker 2: driving you crazy is how white he becomes when he's
- 58:21Speaker 2: at work, around our neighbors and at restaurants. He got
- 58:26Speaker 2: a promotion on his job right before everybody started working
- 58:28Speaker 2: from home back in twenty twenty.
- 58:30Speaker 6: I was so happy for him.
- 58:31Speaker 2: I threw a small dinner and had not been sprinted
- 58:34Speaker 2: with HNC on him. Now, Steve, I'm sure you know
- 58:38Speaker 2: exactly what that means, and you've never been offended by
- 58:40Speaker 2: calling that. Well, I do know exactly what that means,
- 58:45Speaker 2: and no, I'm not offended by that. I have referred
- 58:51Speaker 2: myself as that on many occasions. I have proudly stuck
- 58:56Speaker 2: out my chest and walked around as that I would
- 59:01Speaker 2: have wanted napkins, T shirts, bumba stickers.
- 59:05Speaker 6: I'd ordered everything.
- 59:08Speaker 2: I'd had a flag if I could put a flag
- 59:10Speaker 2: on front of my out instead of American flag. On
- 59:14Speaker 2: Fourth of July, I had ah and ir C flag.
- 59:16Speaker 2: For hell, everybody else got a flag. Why can't we
- 59:20Speaker 2: have a flag? I'm all about the flag man. Anyway,
- 59:26Speaker 2: my husband was offended and wouldn't let me use it. Napolis. Now,
- 59:30Speaker 2: let me explain something to you. The problem you're having
- 59:34Speaker 2: is how white he becomes when he's at work, neighbors
- 59:38Speaker 2: and restaurants. Now here's to back up your husband. Your
- 59:44Speaker 2: husband is aware of the fact that a lot of
- 59:47Speaker 2: us are aware. If it's that we have to have
- 59:50Speaker 2: two masks in order to survive in this world. We
- 59:55Speaker 2: have two masks. He has a mask for them, and
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: he has a mask for him, and that mask for
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: him has gotten him paid. Put your mask on, dog
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: and play the game. That's all he's doing. Now I'm
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: going to tell you the problem with that, because I
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: know what happens.
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: Yeah, we'll be.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Back, all right, We'll be back with part two of
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Steve's response at twenty three minutes after the hour, today's
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Strawberry letter subject fighting the Power every Day. We'll get
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: back into it right after this. You're listening hard morning show.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: All right, Come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: fighting the Power every Well.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: This lady loves her husband, but she has an issue
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: with him on how white he becomes when he's at
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: work around their neighbors and at restaurants. He got a
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: promotion on his job before the pandemic struck. You was
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: happy for him, so you threw a small dinner and
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: you had naphin's printed with hn I.
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: See on it. He says Steve.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: I'm sure you know exactly what that means, and you've
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: never been offended by being called that. No, not amongst
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: my friends. No, now, you can't be nobody else. It
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: can't be nobody else at the party. But if me
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: and my homies is at the party, we got them
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: napkins taped on our T shirts. I pull up in
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: an all white van with black letters on it. H
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: E N I C at my dinner party, my dinner party.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: I only got paper plates made with HN IIC on it.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I got all the cooks at the house wearing aprons
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: with it on that I ain't got no problem with it.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: You're absolutely right about Steve Harley, but your husband was offending.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: Wouldn't let me use it, Napkins. Now, while we're working
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: from home home, I've noticed a change and how he
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: talking acted on the video conference with the coworkers.
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: He was using a lot of big.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Words and sound proper, but it sounded strange with all
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: the broken English he normally uses.
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: Let me get to what's going on here. Your husband has.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Had to play the game to get the way he is,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: and all of us are aware of this, and we
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: know we need two masks. You got a mask for yourself,
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: and you got a mask for them, and you got
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: to put it on to play the game. And don't
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: act like you don't. I have a mask that I
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: put on when I'm talking to my wife. She can't
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: have the same masks when I'm talking with my boys,
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: So I gotta speak differently. Every man when they wife
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: come around, starts talking and behaving a little bit differently
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: because she in the room or she can hear.
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: And you know that's a fact, junior.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: I'm doing it now.
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: It's Tommy on the zoom. No, but I'm doing it now.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: I know, I know you.
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: I just want you to know it.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: You got to put these masks on. It's two different masks.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: I tell you who else wear masks, church people. Church
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: people have masks too. Oh wait, man, you know who.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Talked that to me.
- 1:03:13Speaker 6: Kirk Franklin.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Me and Kirk Franklin was on tour together and I
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: came up with the idea and I said, well, Kirk,
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: I'm gonna go. I'm gonna let you go last man,
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna just gonna get out the way. He said, no, man,
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: you a bigger star. I said, no, bro, he said,
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: he said number it's Steve put tripping man. He said,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: He's saying. Folks that come see me on Sunday they
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: put that, they put that mask on to come see me.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: They got their other mask on on Saturday night when
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: they come to the club see you. Me and Kirk
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Franklin had a whole tour like that, and then we
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: called it behind the scenes to put your mask on tour.
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: Yeah, people been doing it.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: And black people have to put that mask on to
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: go to work sometimes because if we don't put that
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: mask on. We're not gonna keep our No, we're not
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: gonna be able to keep y'all because if we come
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: in there as the real us.
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: Let me tell you something, they ain't gonna be able
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: to handle it.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: Now, you talking about how his friends were messing around
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: with him, or his two black homeboys joked him about
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: how white he acted at a bar and then went
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: back to being black when they was on basketball court. See,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: homie done got tired of it. He didne got played.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: He didn't figure out how they got paid. And he
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: playing the game. That's all it is, man, He just
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: playing the game. Now I'm writing you because he's getting
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: white bout the day and now he wants to go
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: wig shopping with me. Now, homeboy, now you're taking this
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: too far. Now you have to take your mask on
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: off when you go home. See that's his problem. Now
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: he'd done forgot that he has to take the mask off.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: He could have took the mask off when he was
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: down at the ball with his homeboys, but he forgot
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: he saw them and he kept it on. See that's
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: the problem. He on the video conference, put your mask on.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: When I go to family feud, I put the mask on.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: I go to Judge show.
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: I put the mask on.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Now I have it cocked a little bit like it's
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: all way.
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: Damn.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: I got that Grace Jones mask where I look like
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Phantom of the Opera. That's right, sheldy boy, I got
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: a mask on, but you can still see me. That's
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: the only thing about Steve. I'm old enough and been
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: in the game long enough where my mask is the
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Phantom of the Opera.
- 1:05:42Speaker 6: Man, I got But if I take that whole damn
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: mask off in trouble.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm just talking for every black person that's
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: listening to this show that understands what we're saying.
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: You gots to put that mask on because if.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: You don't, Man, game over homeboy justin forgot to take
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: it off when he comes home.
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: That's all it is.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Now, y'all going wig shopping. And you said if he
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: asked me to go blonde, I'm knocking him out. How
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: do I get my country soul for bearded Spade playing
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: back breaking her husband back? Oh so nah he and now,
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: oh he don't play spade no more. See, you'd have
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: took this mask thing too far. Yeah, he ain't breaking
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: backs no more. Oh he ain't not making look like
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: with his mask on. How's he going?
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: Tap?
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Tap?
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: How's that for you? What's my name?
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: As say? To comment on today's Strawberry Letter. Thank you, Steve.

- 1:07:22Speaker 2: at the last show.

- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Listen what happened to him? Because I couldn't tell what happened.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: It was so fast.
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: I told you, hey, man, let me tell you something.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: When Javonte hit him with that shot. I jumped up
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: and said, oh, he blanked him up. He blanked him up,
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: And everybody was sitting there like, dog, what you talking about?
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: But I saw the shot, yeah, and it was a
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: delayed reaction, and he took about four steps back.
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: He looked like he sit in the box and he
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: just dropped to his knees. What was in that liver? Dog, seu?
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Man, these catch.
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: Weigh one hundred and thirty five pounds at the weigh in.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: They ain't nothing but lean muscle mass when he hit him.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: Look at the slow motion his whole back shake. Wow,
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: there ain't nothing but muscle.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:44Speaker 6: He wasn't braced for that shot at all. As soon
- 1:08:48Speaker 6: as he hit him with it, I said.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: He blanked him up, And everybody in my trailer was
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: going what And then he took four steps back and
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: dropped to his knee.
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: I know I've seen that shot before.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Man, his whole cup is full of people, that's real.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: His whole cup is just when he got to the
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: dress room and took his cup off.
- 1:09:14Speaker 8: Yeah man, that's what happened.
- 1:09:18Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: That's a bad boy, man. Yeah, yeah, boy, let me
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: tell you something. Ain't nobody else gonna be able.
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: Whoop this boy, the man something because you gonna have
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: a second fight. They gotta have a second rematch.
- 1:09:32Speaker 13: They gotta have the latest fight. Hell yeah, they fighting
- 1:09:34Speaker 13: again and we're gonna watch it again. That's it, man,
- 1:09:41Speaker 13: That's that's that's that was a good fight.
- 1:09:43Speaker 7: Man.
- 1:09:43Speaker 8: Congratulations champ uh man. We're going to see what happens again.
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: Surety. That's all I got for sports right now. Was
- 1:09:49Speaker 6: a fight in the stands. You know, I didn't see
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: no fighting. He usually always is.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Stand I don't know, I see that all right, Well,
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: thank you, Junior. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: a husband and wife, Steve, need some advice on finances
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: in their marriage. We'll talk about it right after this.
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: You're listening, Harvey Morning Show. This is from Stressed Out
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: in Chicago, Steve. This is a couple that wrote in
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: they want advice on finances in a marriage. They say, hey,
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: Stephen Morning Show. Family. We have been married for two
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: years and we bought We both have our private checking
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: accounts and a joint savings account. We both earn around
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: the same salary, and we pay our own car notes
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: and personal expenses like cell phone bills and student loans.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: The husband doesn't want to get a family plan for
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: the cell phones, and he doesn't want to share a
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: household account to pay bills. It seems more like we're
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: roommates than a married couple. Will finances break us up
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: if we don't figure this out? How should finances go
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: in a marriage?
- 1:10:54Speaker 6: Well, I'm just going to tell you I don't know
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: how they should go.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: With the best advice I've gotten, and I've got giving
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: it to people all the time, and account and taught
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: this to me and it has helped me tremendously. Every
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: married couple should have four bank accounts. Minimum number one
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: it is the joint household account where both of your
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: checks you all make the same amount. You said, both
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: of those checks go in two the joint household account.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: From that, all necessities are paid, all bills, electrical, house note,
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: all that card notes, everything gets paid out of there.
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: Why would you get married if you are not going
- 1:11:42Speaker 6: to act as a unit.
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: If you continue to act separate, you will be separ rteched.
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: Marriage is about becoming one. This ain't no magic trick
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: to this. These is the rules.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: So now, once you start doing everything separate, you will
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: be set a rate. Tech So that's the first account.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: Everything goes into one. The second account you need is
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: a joint savings account. After everything is paid, you all decide,
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: no matter what this is, how much we are saving,
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: and that goes into that account. No money can be
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: taken out of that account unless both parties sign for it.
- 1:12:26Speaker 6: Then you need the third and the fourth account.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: He should have a personal account and you should have
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: a personal account. You are not allowed to ask him
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: what he does with his money, nor tell him. He's
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: not allowed to ask you or tell you what to
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: do with your money. You all decide which eat the others,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: which each other's allowance is out of the joint saving
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: Now I'm going to say something that you are going
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: to disagree with.
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: The woman's cut is.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: Normally by people who are in this business to win
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: slightly higher than the man's because it costs more money
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: for them to stay beautiful. They got more, They got hair,
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: they got makeup, they got nails, they got stuff we
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: don't have, so allowed for that. And you're figuring out
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: whose salary should be what, And then you go there
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: and you ain't even got no hair. So what is
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: your ass complaining about it? All?
- 1:13:27Speaker 9: Head?
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: Do you want to take her somewhere bad. No, we
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: ain't gonna go nowhere.
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: Okay, we'll see right there it is, see what and
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: then and then you'll have a happy marriage because then
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: you're acting as a unit. You're saving together, you're compiling
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: your resources together. Two is stronger than one. It's just
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: stronger when you go together. And that's what a count
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: and taught me. And Marjorie has her own account. I

- 1:20:16Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Okay, Steve, Here we are our
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: last break of the day. Before we get out of here,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: let's say congratulations to Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and her
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: new husband Jonathan Owens. On Saturday, Simone announced that she
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: and Houston Texans player Jonathan Owens tied the knot. They
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: posted pictures of themselves following the ceremony. So congrats to
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: Simone and Jonathan otherwise known as mister and missus Owens.
- 1:20:44Speaker 8: Yes something, Yeah, congrats. Yeah, take that, Dallas.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so take that, Dallas. That's all y'all got. Some
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: olds got married to a textas and you take.
- 1:21:09Speaker 6: That, Dallas.
- 1:21:10Speaker 8: That's all you got.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: So it's something.
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: But but Steve, here's a question for you before we
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: get out of here. This is from Jody in Montgomery.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: She wrote, Haysteve, I wrote you a while back to
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: see if you would be interested in helping up and
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: coming comics learn the tricks of the trade. I bet
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: it would be a good way for you to earn
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: some good money. Is this something you'd ever consider doing
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: in your spare time? Maybe online? This is from Jody.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: Well, how much you won't pay? All this good money conversation?
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: Let's let's get that started. What are you willing to
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: pay to learn the tricks in the trade? But see,
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: here's a problem. They no tricks, but it's you got
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: to It's only one way to learn this. You've got
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: to hear your name introduced. You've got to be introduced.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: If nothing else fixes this for you, Ladies and gentlemen
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: from Cleveland, Ohio, Steve Hardy, you need to hear that
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: at least five hundred times, Yeah, before you really understand
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: what the hell going on here, and until you well
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: you know, because this is a business where there's no
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: school for it.
- 1:22:29Speaker 6: You just the only school is the stage. You have
- 1:22:32Speaker 6: to go up there and do it.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: And it's very difficult to get five hundred introductions in
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: because one of them nights it ain't gonna go good
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: and you're gonna have to go back up there. If
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: this is truly what you're born to do, you will
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: go back up there. Was the roughest nights is the
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: next night. It ain't tonight, it's the next night, especially
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: if you've had a bad show. Oh okay, because that's
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: a very very difficult thing to do.
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: Man.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: It's like falling off a horse and getting back up.
- 1:23:04Speaker 6: No, it ain't. No, it ain't nothing like that.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: It ain't a damn thing like it ain't worth falling
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: off a horse like hell, you can just go get
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: another horse, try that one.
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: No, it's a rough man.
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: When you at a comedy club have a bad showing,
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: then you gotta go back up there. It's the same
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: stage same mic, same lights, same city, same building, and
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: you gotta go back man, Lord her Mercy, Oh, father god,
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be able to do that online. That
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: ain't no good money in that.
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: Look. You give Jody some credit for trying to think
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: of ways for you to get more money.
- 1:23:40Speaker 6: That's what she said, jo thinking how she's gonna get
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: some money.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: You can earn good money on the side.
- 1:23:47Speaker 6: No, what is she talking about good money?
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: Sn't trying to figure out kill me when people come
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: to me, dump up my life and don't know where
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: about me? Man, I tell your story all the time
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: like that. Dude came to me Steve Harvey, Man, can
- 1:24:01Speaker 2: I talk to you for a little? I said, I
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: don't have time. Bro, Oh you don't have fifteen minutes
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: to make ten million dollars? I said, brother, let me
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: ask you something. Do you have ten million dollars? Now?
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: I said, okay, why would you give it to me?
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: Thank about this, brother? You got a way to get
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: ten million? Why would you give a ten million to me?
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: And No, I don't have time for you to take
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: up fifteen minutes on my day because I have little
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: belief that you know how to get ten million and
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: you don't have it already, chaff. Robert Smith came up
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: to me and said, Steve, you got fifteen minutes. Man,
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: I got a way you can make fifty million dollars.
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: I'm finna go to I'm finn fly to see Robert
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: Smith cause he got fifty million dollars. H Yeah, I
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: will go see what he got to say.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: Yes, Jody just gave you, I mean a good way
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: to make some extra money.

- 1:25:18Speaker 6: I love Montgomery.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Because of one man, Craig Calhoun, Man, best friend I
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: ever had. I lost Lord have mercy man them friendships.
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: Man was real, and that's the greatest thing came out
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: of Montgomery to me.
- 1:25:36Speaker 6: Okay, but.
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: Jody, extra money, Jody, Jody, I appreciate it. But Jody,
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: I got an idea for you, Joe, Yeah, suggestions. He
