- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know, y'all a suit on looking back to back down,
- 0:13Speaker 1: giving them like theming bus bus things. And it's good.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Steve has to mother start join you. Gotta gotta turn
- 1:24Speaker 1: you gotta turn to turn them out. Got to turn
- 1:44Speaker 1: them out, to turn the water the water. Come be,
- 1:58Speaker 1: Come on your baby, huh, I sure will A good
- 2:04Speaker 1: morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, Come on, dig
- 2:08Speaker 1: me now one it only Steve Harley got a radio
- 2:11Speaker 1: show today. I want to just share something with you
- 2:20Speaker 1: along your way to wherever it is you're trying to
- 2:24Speaker 1: get to. You know, everybody has a different definition for success,
- 2:30Speaker 1: and I'm not. I'm not here to tell you what
- 2:32Speaker 1: joy should be. I mean, please pursue whatever you think success.
- 2:35Speaker 1: He is aim as high as you can though, that's
- 2:39Speaker 1: for sure. My father used to say all the time.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I'm sure you all have heard it in different variations,
- 2:46Speaker 1: but he used to always say, aim for the moon.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Just in case you miss, you'll still be amongst the stars.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Just say that to me all the time. So that
- 2:55Speaker 1: always was in me to aim high. Now he wasn't
- 3:00Speaker 1: saying aim with the intent to miss. He was just saying,
- 3:04Speaker 1: aim in case you miss, you're still amongst the stars
- 3:10Speaker 1: if you aim for the moon. But if you just
- 3:12Speaker 1: aim for that first flow winder and you miss it,
- 3:16Speaker 1: you know, usually run into some type of wall and
- 3:20Speaker 1: nothing happens. You slither down. You know. In my book,
- 3:23Speaker 1: act like a lady, think like a man. I told
- 3:25Speaker 1: her people that men love three ways. They profess, they provide,
- 3:29Speaker 1: they protect, and that's the core essence of a man's love. Well,
- 3:34Speaker 1: there's some other peas in life too. The number one
- 3:38Speaker 1: thing you have to understand about trying to be successful,
- 3:44Speaker 1: and I guess I call this the four peas. I
- 3:46Speaker 1: may come up with five along the way. I don't know.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I'm just talking as is given to me. So I'm
- 3:52Speaker 1: gonna summer start by saying, as these are the four
- 3:55Speaker 1: peas of success that you have to get ready for.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Number one, it's pressure. A lot of it is applied
- 4:05Speaker 1: by the circumstance of what you're trying to go for
- 4:07Speaker 1: and what you're trying to do, but a lot of
- 4:12Speaker 1: it also is self imposed pressure. It's what you put
- 4:17Speaker 1: on yourself to make it. It's a sense of urgency,
- 4:23Speaker 1: it's a sense of necessity. But pressure is the first
- 4:28Speaker 1: thing I want you to be ready for. And pressure
- 4:31Speaker 1: comes in a lot of different forms, but it's going
- 4:34Speaker 1: to be pressured as an old saying that pressure buster pipe. See,
- 4:37Speaker 1: that's why most people turn around because of the pressure
- 4:40Speaker 1: of trying to be successful. I want you to get
- 4:43Speaker 1: it in your mind that it is going to be
- 4:46Speaker 1: a pressure rized situation on your rise to the top. Pressure,
- 4:52Speaker 1: but understand that that it is what it is, is
- 4:55Speaker 1: not going to change. That's it. Prepare yourself, get ready
- 5:00Speaker 1: for there to be pressure. The second thing I want
- 5:05Speaker 1: you to understand is when you receive this pressure, you
- 5:09Speaker 1: have to persist. You got to stay at it. You
- 5:14Speaker 1: got to develop a dog getness has a There's a
- 5:21Speaker 1: song who says, why must I feel like that? Why
- 5:27Speaker 1: must I chase the cat? Nothing but the dog in me?
- 5:32Speaker 1: That's a funny line in that song, because really I
- 5:36Speaker 1: was thinking about it one day. I was humming it
- 5:39Speaker 1: and and and it, and it occurred to me, said,
- 5:42Speaker 1: why must I feel like that? Why must I chase
- 5:46Speaker 1: the cat? Nothing but the dog getting me? And you know,
- 5:51Speaker 1: now you could take it in the literal says that
- 5:53Speaker 1: the cat chases the dog because it's innately is in
- 5:57Speaker 1: his spirit. That cats and dogs are a lot of
- 6:00Speaker 1: times enemies. Now people have pets, and him proven that
- 6:03Speaker 1: if you show love on both sides, they can exist.
- 6:06Speaker 1: And that happens too. But naturally innately, when your cat
- 6:11Speaker 1: goes by a dog, your dog don't recognize him. That's
- 6:13Speaker 1: some barking going on. I'm talking I just walking through
- 6:16Speaker 1: the neighborhood or something. So but the reason that this
- 6:20Speaker 1: dog is so persistent towards this cat is just cause
- 6:26Speaker 1: it's in him. It's innately in him. And what I'm
- 6:31Speaker 1: saying to you, just using that as an analogy, is
- 6:36Speaker 1: that you got to be you got to be persistent
- 6:42Speaker 1: in that. You got to develop some dog in you
- 6:45Speaker 1: now because pressure takes some fighting back. See if you
- 6:49Speaker 1: don't fight back against pressure, pressure buster pipes, So what
- 6:53Speaker 1: you think it will do to you? Pressure crack walls,
- 6:56Speaker 1: pressure calls, explosions. So if you don't fight back to
- 7:00Speaker 1: hold it in, you understand pressure does most people in
- 7:05Speaker 1: the simple thing called pressure, the weight of what it
- 7:10Speaker 1: feels like to want to be successful every single day,
- 7:13Speaker 1: over and over and over and over and over. It's
- 7:16Speaker 1: just too much pressure. People crack you got to persist.
- 7:21Speaker 1: You have to persist. You can. The thought of giving
- 7:25Speaker 1: up can come, but you got to get it out.
- 7:28Speaker 1: You gotta persist. The next thing I want you to
- 7:33Speaker 1: think about is another something that I've been thinking about
- 7:37Speaker 1: for years and learn for years. It's called perseverance. To
- 7:42Speaker 1: persist means to insist. Keyword in insist and persistence insists
- 7:50Speaker 1: you must. You must insist that this is going to happen. Now,
- 7:54Speaker 1: the persist I'm assuming means it's a proaction. It's some
- 7:58Speaker 1: type of proaction. You go towards it to make it.
- 8:03Speaker 1: You know, persist, You gotta be persistent. You gotta be
- 8:05Speaker 1: constantly at insisting that it happens. You gotta be constantly
- 8:09Speaker 1: at it. But the next thing I want you to
- 8:11Speaker 1: remember is perseverance. Perseverance is important. Perseverance means that when
- 8:18Speaker 1: you've done your best, when you've persisted, when you're fighting
- 8:23Speaker 1: back against the pressure. Perseverance simply means I'm going to
- 8:28Speaker 1: hang in here when if a crack come into pipe,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna hang in there. If the pipe bust, I'm
- 8:36Speaker 1: gonna keep going. If I gotta put duct, take mud,
- 8:41Speaker 1: whatever I got to put on this thing. Man I'm
- 8:44Speaker 1: gonna use perseverance. I'm going to stay with it no
- 8:49Speaker 1: matter what. So we're looking at the three things again.
- 8:53Speaker 1: You got to understand that it's gonna be pressure that
- 8:56Speaker 1: you're gonna have to persist. Keyword and persistence in insist.
- 9:00Speaker 1: You have to insist that no matter what the pressure is,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna stay with it. But then perseverance if it
- 9:07Speaker 1: goes wrong. Man, you got to get in there and
- 9:10Speaker 1: keep fighting. But then Lord Him Mercy. Nothing helps you
- 9:15Speaker 1: handle the three peas better than the fourth pea. You
- 9:19Speaker 1: got to pray. You got to use prayer. You gotta
- 9:23Speaker 1: talk to God. You gotta use faith. You gotta have
- 9:26Speaker 1: some conferences with him late at night, early in the morning,
- 9:31Speaker 1: in the middle of the afternoon, when you own the train,
- 9:33Speaker 1: when you're driving. You got to talk to God. Man,
- 9:36Speaker 1: you gotta get yourself some help along the way. Nothing
- 9:39Speaker 1: is bigger than prayer. There is nothing bigger than prayer.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Prayer will help you overcome the pressure. Prayer will help
- 9:46Speaker 1: you stay persistent, and Lord Him Mercy, prayer will help
- 9:50Speaker 1: you persevere. Them is the faux pas that just came
- 9:53Speaker 1: to me today. God gave that to me. I'm passing
- 9:56Speaker 1: it on you're listening show, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
- 10:04Speaker 1: let me have it undivided attention. It's the beginning, a
- 10:07Speaker 1: new week, a new day, a new opportunity. Grateful to
- 10:10Speaker 1: be here. Man. All of us that are listening today
- 10:14Speaker 1: are surviving and actually doing rather well. I might add,
- 10:18Speaker 1: if you think about it, Ladies and gentlemen, this is
- 10:21Speaker 1: the quarantine version of the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Yo.
- 10:25Speaker 1: We all locked into, all of us. We are all
- 10:29Speaker 1: in separate locations. Now. Ain't nobody allowed to come into
- 10:33Speaker 1: those studio? The radio Conglomerate or iHeart has passed out
- 10:39Speaker 1: all the equipment, had engineers come to everybody's location and
- 10:43Speaker 1: set them up. We're all plugged in all the way
- 10:46Speaker 1: out to LA and Lord ha Mercy. This is the
- 10:49Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Quarantine Morning Show, live and vivid, living color,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and let the church say man, hey, man, man ay man,
- 11:00Speaker 1: and again man so tired of quaw ranting? Yeah, I
- 11:09Speaker 1: think that sermon should come a little bit later today.
- 11:13Speaker 1: The complaints may have to well, we will see how
- 11:18Speaker 1: I go. Shirley Strawberry, lady girl, please welcome back, Thank you, hey, Steve, Hey, everybody,
- 11:26Speaker 1: you just pull back the curtain all the time. Don Yeah,
- 11:29Speaker 1: I ain't don't need us acting like we all in
- 11:30Speaker 1: the uniting tollers. We can't gather no, especially in LA.
- 11:33Speaker 1: If two people standing anywhere together, the shots ring out, Colin.
- 11:40Speaker 1: But I'm just saying anything anything lifted, No man. Hey,
- 11:47Speaker 1: last night the mayor was on TV out here. The
- 11:51Speaker 1: police are now. It's a fourth degree misdemeanus if you're
- 11:54Speaker 1: disobeying the stay home rule. Huh. If you don't have
- 11:58Speaker 1: real business right, take your man. I ain't trying to
- 12:03Speaker 1: hear it, Ladies and gentlemen, The thirty third thousand Wonder
- 12:07Speaker 1: of the World, Junior killed boys, spakes morning everybody. I'm
- 12:13Speaker 1: so sick of being in here, yes, but at least
- 12:17Speaker 1: but the good thing is you in here. Though I'm
- 12:20Speaker 1: in here, Jay Anthony Brown, my quarantine attire is bathrobe,
- 12:27Speaker 1: draws socks. Sometimes bathrobe and socks. One more time, robe
- 12:36Speaker 1: draws and socks. That's my quarantine. Retired and winning for
- 12:41Speaker 1: about a week. And the food. Jay Nephew, Thommy, I'm
- 12:48Speaker 1: here one more week with her. I don't really know
- 12:54Speaker 1: how this is gonna go. Hey, dog, it's gonna be
- 12:56Speaker 1: more than where you get a week from though, one
- 12:58Speaker 1: more week where you get that time. I'm just saying,
- 13:01Speaker 1: one more week. You must have been listening to Trump
- 13:04Speaker 1: in this Quarantine's got a random I'm just I'm just saying, yeah, yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 1: you must be. I won't. I won't custody then my keys.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I won't custody my kids. That's what I want to limit.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Tell you something. I'm so crazy, but you know why. Yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 1: you ain't quarantine? Okay, of course I am. Okay, Well,
- 13:32Speaker 1: when we come back, I guess we'll be talking about something.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. This the quarantine Show, but we live.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Donte of them must not be there. He must not
- 13:42Speaker 1: be there. I'm sorry you're listening to show. Well, guys,
- 13:48Speaker 1: the Corona virus pandemic has changed everything New York. Yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 1: is that the epicenter of this disease. Governor Andrew Cuomo
- 13:58Speaker 1: uh blast arrogant and sensitive New Yorkers who are not
- 14:02Speaker 1: practicing social distancing. Some people just will not stay at home. Um. Also,
- 14:07Speaker 1: governors in Washington, California, Ohio, Louisiana, and Illinois have implemented
- 14:12Speaker 1: shelter in place orders. Republican Senator Ran Paul from Kentucky
- 14:17Speaker 1: has become the first senator to test positive for COVID
- 14:20Speaker 1: nineteen and now Utah Senator Meant Romney will self quarantine
- 14:23Speaker 1: after exposure to the virus. President and his response to
- 14:27Speaker 1: the news of Romney self quarantine said, too bad. Wow,
- 14:34Speaker 1: so quick, real quick. If you want to see some
- 14:41Speaker 1: sense in a press conference, watch any of these governors
- 14:45Speaker 1: and mayors from any city. Yeah, from Como is New York. Boy,
- 14:55Speaker 1: so much sense. I like presidential I like the boy Washington.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I like the mayor of Los Angeles that I've been
- 15:04Speaker 1: talking now. I watched Donald Trump on television yesterday doing
- 15:08Speaker 1: his State of the speech, and he was doing okay,
- 15:12Speaker 1: trying to give out of information. And somebody said to him,
- 15:16Speaker 1: and he said, you know what, you know, look, it's
- 15:19Speaker 1: hard to be a rich guy and be president. Oh Michael,
- 15:23Speaker 1: he said, because a rich man, I've lost billions of
- 15:28Speaker 1: dollars since I became president. Billions. But it's okay. I
- 15:34Speaker 1: haven't taken my salary. Now. I make four hundred fifty
- 15:36Speaker 1: thousand dollars a year. You know, that's a lot of
- 15:39Speaker 1: money for anybody, even even for a rich guy. That's
- 15:41Speaker 1: a lot of money. I haven't taken my salary. I
- 15:44Speaker 1: was just listening to this dude, going, man, it's this
- 15:47Speaker 1: dude for okay, But un did you hear him say
- 15:52Speaker 1: that they helped people that have died before that have
- 15:54Speaker 1: never died. There are people dying who have never died before.
- 15:58Speaker 1: He said, this is whose specialty is definitely not public
- 16:11Speaker 1: speaking now or leadership. Now, here's what's interesting. I was
- 16:20Speaker 1: listening to the retired army general who got down there
- 16:24Speaker 1: and took over in Contrite, and he was saying, this
- 16:27Speaker 1: is what the United States should do for logistical purposes.
- 16:31Speaker 1: All of the equipment should come through the Army because
- 16:34Speaker 1: they know how to do logistics and get it to
- 16:36Speaker 1: everywhere it needs to go. Because what's going to happen
- 16:38Speaker 1: is these medical supplies become available and then certain cities
- 16:43Speaker 1: go by all of them. Then they'll have all of
- 16:45Speaker 1: them in another city. I have none. He say. Logistics
- 16:49Speaker 1: comes into play where you know how to give out
- 16:51Speaker 1: certain for so much time. So it's the apply come in.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Everybody gets a two weeks supply, then at ten days
- 16:56Speaker 1: you resupply everybody. And that's what he was saying, and
- 16:59Speaker 1: he was making a lot of sense. Man, But he
- 17:01Speaker 1: told the truth of what I've always said. We live
- 17:05Speaker 1: in a capitalistic society. The problem we have is the
- 17:09Speaker 1: people who can make masks, who can make shields, who
- 17:12Speaker 1: can make robes, can make the test first have to
- 17:16Speaker 1: know where they're going to get money from before they
- 17:20Speaker 1: make these tests. And so now people are bidding these
- 17:24Speaker 1: jobs and they're charging like a mask that will normally
- 17:26Speaker 1: cost two dollars, he says, now costing six to eight
- 17:29Speaker 1: dollars because they know they need them. They're not even
- 17:33Speaker 1: two dollars. They eighty some sent normally. Well, I'm just
- 17:37Speaker 1: saying what the guy was saying on TV, and which
- 17:40Speaker 1: is crazy. And he says, and that's the capitalistic society,
- 17:43Speaker 1: he says, but it works in America. But the reason
- 17:46Speaker 1: a lot of this stuff is delayed, Number one, the
- 17:49Speaker 1: trillion dollars bill they're supposed to be coming from the
- 17:51Speaker 1: House and the Senate is not finished yet, and so
- 17:55Speaker 1: the money to buy this stuff from the people who
- 17:58Speaker 1: do have the supplies, it's slightly held up. And that's
- 18:03Speaker 1: that's ludicrous. And to yesterday he dumped that on the Democrats.
- 18:08Speaker 1: The Republicans are ready, We've signed, and he know good
- 18:11Speaker 1: and well that's the last thing Republicans want to do
- 18:15Speaker 1: is giveaway handout money. So it's a bipartisan bill, but
- 18:20Speaker 1: it's being held up by a bunch of difference. And
- 18:23Speaker 1: that's my takeover. But a h y'all, glad, y'all doing
- 18:28Speaker 1: well and your families just doing well? Yes, man, Hey,
- 18:34Speaker 1: you know what I'd like to know what everybody quickly,
- 18:38Speaker 1: what's a good thing that has happened to you since
- 18:41Speaker 1: you've been quarantined, Julia, Oh, Man, I've been reading and
- 18:46Speaker 1: educating myself. Man, I'm seven highly successful havings of successful people. Man,
- 18:50Speaker 1: it's a great great Tommy. I'm more tuned into what
- 18:55Speaker 1: my son is doing, my eight year old, I'm more
- 18:57Speaker 1: tuned in. I've never been tuned in into him. I'm
- 19:00Speaker 1: watching him now. I'm watching what he does. Jay, before
- 19:05Speaker 1: the lockdown, I'm stacked up on medicinal things that I need.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I really wentn't got me enough. I haven't many anybody
- 19:13Speaker 1: needs everything? Shut up, Jay, more family time. I was
- 19:22Speaker 1: talking and being together, dinner together, all of that. Yes, surely,
- 19:27Speaker 1: well you know I'll echo what Carla said for sure,
- 19:29Speaker 1: more family time. Um, But I realized that I really
- 19:34Speaker 1: needed rest. I really needed some rest for myself, just
- 19:38Speaker 1: some me time, and I took that. I really needed
- 19:42Speaker 1: that to clear my head, to get my body back,
- 19:45Speaker 1: you know, healthy and every instrong body was gone, sir,
- 19:49Speaker 1: and you know I was gone. I was gone, But
- 19:52Speaker 1: you're still stupid. It hasn't changed. The thing that I
- 19:59Speaker 1: focused and I've really started focusing on is my physical
- 20:04Speaker 1: health because I work so much that I don't have
- 20:09Speaker 1: the time for it sometimes. And now what I'm doing
- 20:13Speaker 1: is I'm taking real time to really think about what
- 20:16Speaker 1: my body needs. Nutrition rise at this age because how
- 20:21Speaker 1: I used to be able to lose weight out don't.
- 20:23Speaker 1: I can't do it anymore like that. And so I'm
- 20:25Speaker 1: starting to fine tune my workouts, watch my meals. Ain't
- 20:30Speaker 1: nobody in here with me and Marger. There no grandkids
- 20:32Speaker 1: and no kids, so it's just us, all right, some
- 20:38Speaker 1: of these edibles, all of y'all. Coming up next, It's
- 20:42Speaker 1: time to switch gears. Guys. We're gonna laugh a little bit,
- 20:45Speaker 1: Church Complain with Reverend Motown Deacon Death Jam coming up
- 20:48Speaker 1: right after that. You're listening. Coming up at the top
- 20:54Speaker 1: of the hour, Missiana standing by with today's national news
- 20:59Speaker 1: on the coronavirs virus pandemic. Of course, Plus I will
- 21:02Speaker 1: also have us some entertainment news at the top of
- 21:05Speaker 1: the hour. But first it is Monday. Time to laugh
- 21:07Speaker 1: a little bit and a boy. Of course we need that,
- 21:10Speaker 1: right Reverend Motown, Deacon death jam in the building with
- 21:14Speaker 1: church complaints? Oh today, or deacon, if you don't mind,
- 21:22Speaker 1: go hand path, I want to take this time to
- 21:26Speaker 1: preach a little. You don't want to hear the complaints?
- 21:30Speaker 1: Uh why I'm getting asking, I'm getting happen me. But
- 21:37Speaker 1: I might have them next week if you don't want
- 21:38Speaker 1: him this week. But we need to hear the word
- 21:41Speaker 1: in this time of direcity and the words in this
- 21:49Speaker 1: time of atrocitis. We need some words in this time
- 21:58Speaker 1: a depravalative, and we need some words in these moments
- 22:04Speaker 1: of quarantinedness. Yeah, yeah, I'm kind of stay with him,
- 22:12Speaker 1: go ahead. My sermon today is how long will this
- 22:18Speaker 1: quarantine go on? How long will this quarantine go on?
- 22:26Speaker 1: I've been watching seeing in trying to find out when
- 22:31Speaker 1: the quarantine will end. I've been hoping that it would
- 22:37Speaker 1: be two weeks. But all of us sudden, don't Nobody
- 22:42Speaker 1: seemed to be able to speak. They can't give us
- 22:46Speaker 1: a time of day. They can't tell us when the
- 22:49Speaker 1: virus is gonna go away. They can't tell us what
- 22:54Speaker 1: day of the week it is. What all. I'm trying
- 22:58Speaker 1: to find out how along I got to be in
- 23:01Speaker 1: here with the kids. I'm so tired of being quarantine.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I need some relief just for me. Sitting in this
- 23:12Speaker 1: house with just my wife. I've discovered a few things
- 23:18Speaker 1: about Huh that I don't like. Bossay as hell is
- 23:26Speaker 1: what she is me up this wall, driveing me crazy.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I'm about to lose my mind up out of him.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I want to lose my mo I want to get
- 23:46Speaker 1: that out of him. I want to get in my car,
- 23:52Speaker 1: drive to the beach, drive my car across the beach,

- 26:32Speaker 1: I was sitting there with rocking back and fall thinking
- 26:36Speaker 1: about my our youngest son, Our youngest son. Winton had
- 26:48Speaker 1: got an assignment in due Bye, that's in the UAE,
- 26:55Speaker 1: and he went over there, and then his mama said

- 31:58Speaker 1: know I'm in a gumbo. Wow? Who looked at Who

- 32:29Speaker 1: we're gonna switch gears here. Some good news. We're gonna
- 32:31Speaker 1: shout out former reality star in New Yorker Bethany Frankel
- 32:36Speaker 1: Bethany is about to deliver half a million masks to doctors, nurses,
- 32:40Speaker 1: and other other medical professionals. Her foundation be strong. It
- 32:44Speaker 1: is working with manufacturers for from all over the world.
- 32:48Speaker 1: And we gotta say happy birthday to Jay Anthony Brown
- 32:53Speaker 1: Watch birthday was this past Saturday. Yeah, I don't even
- 32:57Speaker 1: remember having it in another world. Yeah, and wonder what
- 33:04Speaker 1: I'm great. I am so blessed, so blessed. We love
- 33:07Speaker 1: you Jay, Happy all right, see, come on time to
- 33:10Speaker 1: get caught up on today's ladies and gentlemen. Miss Anne Trip,
- 33:13Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, and I'm going to miss Kenny
- 33:15Speaker 1: Roger's chicken. He had a franchise that chicken was amazing. Anyway,
- 33:19Speaker 1: This is Anne Trip with the news. Of course, the
- 33:20Speaker 1: biggest story, pretty much is the only story. The coronavirus,
- 33:23Speaker 1: the pandemic. The numbers keep changing, but at last looked
- 33:26Speaker 1: there at least three hundred and twenty one thousand cases worldwide,
- 33:30Speaker 1: with thirteen thousand, seven hundred and fourteen deaths. German Chancellor
- 33:34Speaker 1: Angela Merkel's under quarantine because her doctor tested positive for it.
- 33:38Speaker 1: In Spain, the number of deaths jumped by thirty percent
- 33:41Speaker 1: and only one day this weekend to more than seventeen
- 33:44Speaker 1: hundred and ten percent of those are healthcare workers. Spanish
- 33:48Speaker 1: operatic ten or Po Plastido Domingo says he's tested positive,
- 33:52Speaker 1: so he's in quarantine with its family. In the UK,
- 33:55Speaker 1: there are now five thousand cases, Syria has its first
- 33:58Speaker 1: confirmed case. In they're reporting some five hundred and sixty
- 34:02Speaker 1: two deaths, and in Italy they are over fifty nine
- 34:05Speaker 1: thousand cases. The death told in Italy a whopping five thousand,
- 34:10Speaker 1: four hundred and seventy six people have died in Italy.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Here in the US they're over twenty six thousand cases reported,
- 34:15Speaker 1: with three hundred and twenty six deaths. Either difference in
- 34:18Speaker 1: that it looks like President Trump finally doing with some
- 34:20Speaker 1: state and city officials have been pleading with him to do.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Though he's calling out the National Guard to help out
- 34:24Speaker 1: in the three states hardest hit by the virus, and
- 34:27Speaker 1: there's more. In addition to large quantities of supplies, I've
- 34:30Speaker 1: also directed FEMA to supply four large federal medical stations
- 34:36Speaker 1: with one thousand beds for New York, eight large federal
- 34:40Speaker 1: medical stations with two thousand beds for California, and three
- 34:45Speaker 1: large federal medical stations and four small federal medical stations
- 34:49Speaker 1: with one thousand beds for the state of Washington. However,
- 34:52Speaker 1: there are shortages in protective medical gear all over the country.
- 34:56Speaker 1: FEMA's administrator, Peter Gainer, was on CNN State of the Union.
- 34:59Speaker 1: I can say that the hundreds of requests from virtually
- 35:01Speaker 1: every state in the Union looking for the same exact things,
- 35:04Speaker 1: and it's just not the demand nationally, it's the demand
- 35:06Speaker 1: globally for all these items. In fact, some nurses in
- 35:09Speaker 1: England get this posted pictures of themselves online wearing trash bags,
- 35:13Speaker 1: who work to cover themselves because they say they had
- 35:15Speaker 1: nothing else to wear. They are now over twenty nine
- 35:18Speaker 1: th COVID nineteen cases in New York State, three three
- 35:22Speaker 1: hundred and seventy seven desks. And although Mayor to Blasio
- 35:25Speaker 1: is no doubt grateful that President Trump's finally sending into
- 35:28Speaker 1: national garden and medical supplies, his honors tell CNN he
- 35:31Speaker 1: hopes the President doesn't forget about the people, do what
- 35:34Speaker 1: Franklin Roosevelt did in the New Deal and actually put
- 35:36Speaker 1: money in the hands of people and local governments and hospitals,
- 35:40Speaker 1: not big corporations. Forget bailing out the airlines right now.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Bail out the people, bail out the hospitals, bail out
- 35:47Speaker 1: the cities and states and counties. And Blasio would also
- 35:50Speaker 1: like to see the President actually activate the Defense Production Act.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Is that way he could simply order companies to stop
- 35:56Speaker 1: what they're making and begin producing things like ventilator's mask
- 35:59Speaker 1: and other active year twenty four seven. That's what they do,
- 36:01Speaker 1: you know, during wartime. Now back to the Steve Harvey
- 36:04Speaker 1: Morning Show. You're listening to the Steven Show. All right,
- 36:09Speaker 1: Carla is here with some trending party in music news.
- 36:12Speaker 1: All right, Carla, what's you guy? What's going on? Girl? Well,

- 36:55Speaker 1: husband Richard Lawson. Erica Badude, j Low Common, Luda Look,
- 37:00Speaker 1: Will Smith, Mary J. Blige, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders. That
- 37:08Speaker 1: boy was that boy was doing that thing? Man, Yes,
- 37:12Speaker 1: yes he was. I mean this was trending on CNN.
- 37:15Speaker 1: They were talking about the Steve The New York Times,
- 37:17Speaker 1: USA Today Essence Forbes. Everybody was saying that DJ Knice
- 37:22Speaker 1: made being quarantine Saturday night bearable. I'm gonna tell you
- 37:27Speaker 1: who else did a cole one on Sunday? Anthony Hamilton. Yes,
- 37:34Speaker 1: from his house, ye, man. He said he sat on
- 37:39Speaker 1: an automent and he had two of his good top
- 37:43Speaker 1: players behind him and a dude off camerastick and boy,
- 37:47Speaker 1: let me take you so he lound y'all know that's
- 37:54Speaker 1: my dude. Yes, yes, Anthony Hamilton. Yeah. A lot of
- 37:58Speaker 1: DJs though, that's that's so cool, social distancing party. Let
- 38:06Speaker 1: me tell you what d Knice dial for me. He
- 38:10Speaker 1: made my wife so comfortable. We finally, we finally, that's
- 38:18Speaker 1: all I can say. We finally after DJ Knice, who
- 38:24Speaker 1: we finally Saturday? You know what? We finally? I shall
- 38:32Speaker 1: hope he playing next weekend. I swear to god. That's
- 38:37Speaker 1: the gram live. Wow. It was funny you should say that, Tommy,
- 38:42Speaker 1: why y'all finally to Shirley, y'all one, no, coming up
- 38:46Speaker 1: at thirty four. I'm not answering that question, but coming
- 38:50Speaker 1: up at thirty four minutes after the hour, Tommy excuses
- 38:55Speaker 1: people are gonna use to not have sex, cannot but
- 38:59Speaker 1: have sex right after. But did y'all finally question? Did y'all?
- 39:04Speaker 1: There's no such thing as finally. Okay, you're listening. Well.
- 39:13Speaker 1: The New York City Health Department says that having sex
- 39:16Speaker 1: isn't a good idea right now people. The New York
- 39:20Speaker 1: City Health Department released a statement saying, if you're going
- 39:24Speaker 1: to have sex right now, only have sex with someone
- 39:27Speaker 1: you live with, and try not to have sex with
- 39:30Speaker 1: someone outside your home. I guess that's for all the
- 39:33Speaker 1: cheaters out there. And obviously this corona has cut cheating
- 39:38Speaker 1: way way right. Yeah, And I mean, you know this
- 39:45Speaker 1: goes without saying, obviously, don't have sex with someone who
- 39:48Speaker 1: is sick. And by all means people, what what? What? Wait?
- 39:54Speaker 1: What depens on who's six? Yeah, let's let's talk about
- 39:58Speaker 1: this handy sick you have. I don't give it, Tommy,
- 40:07Speaker 1: tell me, listen to me. This is the this coronavirus? This,
- 40:11Speaker 1: This is not an item for a condom. Condoms. Condoms
- 40:17Speaker 1: don't fix this though, and I'm not and I'm not
- 40:21Speaker 1: trying to put one on it. But what is just saying? Wow, man,
- 40:27Speaker 1: somebody now, so you're willing to run the risk of
- 40:31Speaker 1: dying either way. So if the corona don't get you,
- 40:35Speaker 1: you cool with a STD you boy, you a little
- 40:40Speaker 1: preexisting in it. I'm boy. I thought, no, no, no, no, no, Shirley, Shirley,
- 40:46Speaker 1: for real. This is the thinking of some people. Yeah,
- 40:51Speaker 1: he said he can have sex with a coronavirus person
- 40:54Speaker 1: because he don't have a pre existing cause. If it's
- 40:58Speaker 1: but you gonna have a condition then though, but I
- 41:02Speaker 1: might have it with Harley. Wow. No orgy crazy, throw
- 41:10Speaker 1: that out here. No orgies, no orgies. Yeah, some stuff
- 41:14Speaker 1: is a given though with this, Yeah, you would think no, no, no, y'all, ladies, ladies,
- 41:21Speaker 1: lady ladies. Tommy head, Tommy head, if it's Harley, Tommy
- 41:28Speaker 1: See okay, Now if even I don't give a damn
- 41:33Speaker 1: who it is, you can't, boy, you can't want it.
- 41:40Speaker 1: You cannot be that's stupid. You just can't. You just
- 41:45Speaker 1: heard ye, I'm sorry, gott I'm not gonna do this
- 41:52Speaker 1: with you. I'm not gonna go against I'm not gonna
- 41:55Speaker 1: go against Harley with you. I'm not gonna do that.
- 41:58Speaker 1: You think I'm gonna see you and go against Haley
- 42:00Speaker 1: with you? You think and you was? Can you think us?
- 42:04Speaker 1: We can't that. I'm gonna go again Hally with you.
- 42:08Speaker 1: So let me ask you question. So let me ask
- 42:12Speaker 1: you a question though, So it don't matter that I'm
- 42:17Speaker 1: me as your uncle just might might for my sister's sake,
- 42:22Speaker 1: Just try to say your ragged ass like that's all
- 42:25Speaker 1: I said. You you just for my just for my
- 42:29Speaker 1: sister's sake, because I don't want to hear her mouth,
- 42:32Speaker 1: you know, I don't want her mourning and crying and everything.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Then I got the mourn too. I'm gonna be that crime.
- 42:38Speaker 1: And but see, I'm gonna tell you right now, I'm
- 42:40Speaker 1: talking at your funeral. I'm just gonna let you know
- 42:44Speaker 1: that I'm talking at your funeral. So you're talking about
- 42:47Speaker 1: what that's got to do with me and Haley? What
- 42:51Speaker 1: does that have to do with us? Because if she
- 42:55Speaker 1: is infected and you can be with her based on that, no,
- 43:00Speaker 1: she's not affected. But here's the bigger part. She but
- 43:03Speaker 1: if though that's the part nobody grabbing, she don't shoot.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I can promise you that now you don't know. You
- 43:12Speaker 1: don't you don't know that, you know, I know that
- 43:14Speaker 1: for a fact. You don't know that fact. You don't
- 43:17Speaker 1: know that, And you're not gonna do this to me.
- 43:19Speaker 1: You don't. No, no, no, no, that's a fact. You
- 43:22Speaker 1: don't know that. First of all, Halle caller than you
- 43:28Speaker 1: it What does that have to do with me? All
- 43:32Speaker 1: her men have been taller than her. She don't want
- 43:37Speaker 1: a short man. I know Halle loves me. Speak to
- 43:43Speaker 1: her on the plane. How are you gonna have scary
- 43:47Speaker 1: and speak you're on the plane, Shelly, because it was
- 43:52Speaker 1: thundering outside. Scary. But I've heard it all today, all right, Tommy,

- 45:03Speaker 1: make sure we don't have to actually shut the power
- 45:05Speaker 1: down out there. And uh, we're calling around quite a
- 45:09Speaker 1: few people in your neighborhood, running some tests on individual
- 45:12Speaker 1: homes and making sure the electricity is running correctly. Um,
- 45:16Speaker 1: can I get you to do a few things swarm
- 45:18Speaker 1: and see and the quicker we get through with this, sir,
- 45:21Speaker 1: and it's possibility we won't have to turn your power
- 45:23Speaker 1: off at all. I know you don't want us to
- 45:24Speaker 1: have to come out and turn power off. And you
- 45:27Speaker 1: got stuff in your refrigerator that can spoil and things
- 45:29Speaker 1: like that, so we want to try to get this
- 45:32Speaker 1: done and hopefully the power with the with the test
- 45:34Speaker 1: that we run, it'll it'll run correctly and we won't
- 45:36Speaker 1: have to do anything. Okay, I don't know about electricity though,
- 45:39Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, So no, no no, no, I
- 45:40Speaker 1: understand that. Don't worry about that. Here's what I need
- 45:43Speaker 1: you to do. Now. How big is your house? Well?

- 45:48Speaker 1: you have upstairs downstairs? It's too sure, okay, all right,
- 45:53Speaker 1: so here's what we need to do. Um, if you

- 52:56Speaker 1: What do you mean you haven't done that any well?
- 52:58Speaker 1: You know when Steve is here, you don't let me
- 53:00Speaker 1: introduce the letter? No more, shut up, I don't need
- 53:03Speaker 1: all that's got your ignorant as well. She back, and
- 53:07Speaker 1: you did it, so can we do the letter? Now?
- 53:09Speaker 1: You're happily? He hate id. It's a lot going on,
- 53:18Speaker 1: all right? Subject like me? My uncle do not like me.
- 53:22Speaker 1: He loves you though, he loves you. Yeah, all right,
- 53:25Speaker 1: subject her family is gathering, y'all. Both of y'all are correct?
- 53:31Speaker 1: What your uncle and he do not like you? See that,
- 53:35Speaker 1: But he loves you, loves you all right? Yeah, I
- 53:38Speaker 1: love you the deaf boy. Ain't gonna let nothing happen
- 53:41Speaker 1: to you. Do not particularly care for you. All right,
- 53:47Speaker 1: here we go, Stephen Shirley, Yes it is. I grew
- 53:53Speaker 1: up in a two parent home, and both of my
- 53:55Speaker 1: parents earned college degrees and worked hard to provide a
- 53:58Speaker 1: good life for me and my siblings. And I have
- 54:01Speaker 1: a college degree as well. And I've been married for
- 54:04Speaker 1: over twenty years to a great woman and we have
- 54:07Speaker 1: two teenagers. My teenagers are well mannered and really smart kids.
- 54:12Speaker 1: So here's my problem. I met my wife in college
- 54:16Speaker 1: and fell in love with her, but I cannot stand
- 54:20Speaker 1: her family. They are, for lack of a better term, ghetto.
- 54:24Speaker 1: I must admit that as my kids grew up, I
- 54:27Speaker 1: limited their access to my wife's side of the family,
- 54:30Speaker 1: but I had to be careful so I wouldn't offend
- 54:33Speaker 1: my wife. These people are Hood and they have a
- 54:36Speaker 1: cookout for every occasion. They all live on the same
- 54:40Speaker 1: street in five or six mobile homes, so they always
- 54:44Speaker 1: are down to party, play cards, drink, get all loud,
- 54:48Speaker 1: and act a fool. These kids are always part of
- 54:53Speaker 1: their kids are always part of the festivities, and when
- 54:55Speaker 1: my children were younger, my wife wanted our children to
- 54:59Speaker 1: get to know their cud. That didn't last long because
- 55:02Speaker 1: the Hood cousins started teasing my children about the way
- 55:05Speaker 1: they speak and how they carried themselves. One of my
- 55:08Speaker 1: sons will be graduating from high school soon and my
- 55:12Speaker 1: wife has a party plan for him. She wants to
- 55:15Speaker 1: invite her entire family to the party. That's in our
- 55:19Speaker 1: community center, in our neighborhood. I have politely reminded her
- 55:24Speaker 1: how much of a fiasco it might be, but she
- 55:27Speaker 1: is dead sit on having her family included. I can
- 55:31Speaker 1: already imagine a dice game jumping off by the pool
- 55:35Speaker 1: if her uncle comes. I don't want to be disrespectful,
- 55:38Speaker 1: but I need to put my foot down and set
- 55:40Speaker 1: some ground rules. Stephen Shirley, how can I make this
- 55:44Speaker 1: party work? Wow? Well? First, first, no alcohol. I have
- 55:51Speaker 1: to say that, no alcohol, because that's when the stuff
- 55:54Speaker 1: jumps off. No alcohol, okay, none, don't have any. They're
- 55:58Speaker 1: gonna be mad. But you can't have any alcohol because
- 56:02Speaker 1: they get that in them, and it's just no telling.
- 56:05Speaker 1: You might want to have some security around, some playing
- 56:09Speaker 1: close security, you know, let them mingle through the crowd
- 56:11Speaker 1: and everything, because you know that's in case something does
- 56:15Speaker 1: go down, you know. In the meantime, though, I gotta
- 56:19Speaker 1: tell you this. I gotta tell you this. She gave
- 56:21Speaker 1: us a lot of information in your letter. You know
- 56:23Speaker 1: about you graduating from college. You and your wife have
- 56:26Speaker 1: been together for twenty years. She's a great woman. You
- 56:28Speaker 1: fell in love with her. Your kids are great, their
- 56:31Speaker 1: hood cousins make fun of them and everything. I just say,
- 56:34Speaker 1: in the meantime, this is a teenage party, you know.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Remind people of that, so it should be okay because
- 56:41Speaker 1: it's for the teenagers as long as a grown folks
- 56:43Speaker 1: don't act a fool. The adults just have to behave
- 56:47Speaker 1: You love your wife. You said that you love your wife.
- 56:50Speaker 1: You fell in love with her, and you don't want
- 56:52Speaker 1: to offend her, So please please be mindful of that.
- 56:56Speaker 1: You know that these are her folks. She wants them
- 56:58Speaker 1: to be included. She loves them, and really she wants
- 57:02Speaker 1: them there. So I mean hood or not, ghetto or
- 57:06Speaker 1: not as you call it, They're gonna. They're gonna be
- 57:08Speaker 1: there because this is what the wife that you love wants.
- 57:10Speaker 1: So no alcohol and a little bit of security might
- 57:13Speaker 1: help you, steve. Well, how many minutes I got here
- 57:18Speaker 1: before I get started on this. I just wanted to
- 57:20Speaker 1: say that I completely and totally disagree with everything Shirley said.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Your damn children need these people, Yes, they do. Try
- 57:36Speaker 1: to give a damn both my parents and college degree.
- 57:39Speaker 1: My mom and daddy ain't ever ain't My dad ain't
- 57:42Speaker 1: even finished elementary school. My mama got a high school diploma,
- 57:47Speaker 1: that's it. Ain't. None of my brothers and sisters been
- 57:50Speaker 1: in no college. That's it. I went funk right out.
- 57:55Speaker 1: I got a college degree as well. I've been married
- 57:57Speaker 1: over twenty years. Everybody don't make it twenty years hip hip,
- 58:01Speaker 1: hooray for you, partner. I'm just gonna tell him what
- 58:07Speaker 1: because you know he think he's somebody. Yeah. You got
- 58:10Speaker 1: these two teenagers. They well mannered and really smart kids.
- 58:13Speaker 1: They book smart, they ass ain't street smart. Stupid ass
- 58:18Speaker 1: need to get with these cuss and show them how
- 58:20Speaker 1: to handle themselves out there in life. You got a
- 58:24Speaker 1: family that's got five mobile parks down the street from
- 58:27Speaker 1: each other, all him in trailer home. He needs to
- 58:29Speaker 1: know these people because something could pop off. You need
- 58:33Speaker 1: them people. Are you mad and stuff? You don't want
- 58:37Speaker 1: them around there? For lack of better term. They get
- 58:39Speaker 1: on everybody on the morning show from damn get over.
- 58:44Speaker 1: It's a lot of good in the hood. But you
- 58:47Speaker 1: think because you got this little degree, oh, you think
- 58:51Speaker 1: you'll ass is somebody and you special where you ain't.
- 58:55Speaker 1: You're mad at him? Yeah? Him, Yeah, And I'm gonna
- 58:58Speaker 1: tell your wife when you come back. Yeah, sitting up
- 59:02Speaker 1: here called he got a little punkhead degree. Alright, Steve,
- 59:06Speaker 1: hang onto that two of your seveiary response coming up
- 59:10Speaker 1: at twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letters
- 59:14Speaker 1: subject her family is ghetto. She doesn't know it. We'll
- 59:17Speaker 1: get back into it right after this. You're listening morning show,
- 59:22Speaker 1: all right, Steve, come on, let's recap today's strawberry letter,
- 59:25Speaker 1: which you are so mad about. It's the subject her
- 59:28Speaker 1: family is ghetto and she doesn't know it. Tell me
- 59:31Speaker 1: so most ghetto people don't know. They get on called
- 59:35Speaker 1: they from the ghetto. That's just where they from. That's
- 59:39Speaker 1: just where they live. Now, you sitt't have been here
- 59:41Speaker 1: because both your parents got college degree. Work hard, you
- 59:45Speaker 1: and your siblings, you mad twenty great woman two teenage.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Both of y'all got degrees. You met in college. But
- 59:54Speaker 1: you can't stay in her family where her family probably
- 59:57Speaker 1: can't stay you either. Your boosh ass coming over. See there,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: there are a lot of they lack for a better turn. Yeah,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: hit them. His snobby ass sitting up in here. You
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: don't like nothing they do down there, So I'm gonna
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: tell you about him. I must admit that as the
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: kids grew up. I limited their access to my wife's
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: side of family, but I had to be careful not
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: to film these peoplehood. They have a cookout for everything. See,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: you think your kids is well mannered and smart kids,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: but they don't got no streets smarts, you know what
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I mean? A stupid ass book smart people. I know
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Bill Gates ain't got a college degree. Mark Zuckerberg ain't
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: got a college degree. Hold on, let me show you. So,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: let's get it real of we're talking about college greed.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: Timmy got a college degree. Oh my don't have a
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: college degree. Now, which one us you want your kids
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: to be? That you want your kids? Timmy got a
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: college degree. I ain't who you want your kids being,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: probably neither one of us. But if you had to
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: pick one, would you pick his stupid ass? That's all
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: I'm asking You got a college degree, ain't got a
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: damn brain in his skull. So much for your little
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: damn college degree. They have a cookout for every occasion.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: They live on the Stame Street in five or six
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: mobile homes. They always down the party, play cars in Draden.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Damn it, what's wrong with that? You got to do something.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: We've been working all week. We got to have some fun.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: We ain't got a whole lot of money, so we're
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: gonna play cars. That's what doesn't matter what your punk

- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Your little kids gonna come back broke. The kids are
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: always a part of the festivities. Your kids probably need
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: to learn how to play tongue. How to hell you

- 1:02:13Speaker 1: can't shoot no damn pool. My wife want our children
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: to get they know their cousins. Because your wife is right,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: because she know you ain't taught them a damn thing.

- 1:02:25Speaker 1: and all that, and they stuff and they're getting their
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: ass whipped every time they go to the playground. What
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I'm telling you what it sounds, this is what I'm
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: reading in the letter. I'm reading all this in the letter.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Your wife want them to know their cousins because they
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: damn dadd is soft. They didn't last long casting hood cousins.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: They want them to come over and could start teasing
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: your children about the way they speaking, how they care themselves.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: They aren't the last time they're gonna hit this. The
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: hood cousins was getting them ready for life. Why are
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: you mad because they sitting up in here and not
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: not not honoring the value of these hood cousins. It's
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: good in the hood. You need to let these hood
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: tease your kids about the way they speak. They probably
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: speak real properly, just like your ants. One of my
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: sons we graduated from high school. My wife got a
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: party playing. She want to invite her and tie party
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: to the park. Five family to the party that's in
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: our community center in our neighborhood. Oh oh, I see
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: you live in a complex that's got a community center. Oh,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: now you're gonna old. You scared the hood people gonna
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: come over that start squimming with all the clothes on
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: and stuff like that. Gonna bring up grill out there,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: because you know, we travel with grills in our car.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I had a grill in my car till I was
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: thirty four years old. Sorry to mention, Yeah, kep a
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: grill in my car, charcoal, light of fluid too, and
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: a fishing rod. Hell yeah, hey, never know when I
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: run across the lake, I need some need. I was homeless.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: I ain't on time to do them this punk ass letter,
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: and you were sitting up in here. I politely remind
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: her how much your fiasco be if I invite them
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: people over the head. But she did say on having
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: her family included. I can imagine the dice game jumping
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: off by the pool if they uncle come, who don't
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: like to shoot dice? Who? Hell no, I know you
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: ain't say we can't shoot dice. He we can't shoot dice.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Were at the swimming pool. Black people don't swim, So
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: what does you think gonna do? Your uncle can't swim?
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: He got some dice? Were standing around we doing then
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: you hold on shut we're shooting dice. I don't want
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: to be disrespectful. I need to put my foot down.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: You can kick the dice. Put your foot down. If
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: they roll, kick it forward, hit point, you can kick
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: the dice. Get a rethroat, baby, I need to make ground.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Why can I make this party work? Your ass? Don't
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: go now what you want to ask? So you're rolling
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: around with a fishing pole because you get hungry, So
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: you'll go get some fish and then catch and bring
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: it back and cooking on the grills that's in your car. No,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I take it up to the rest area because they
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: got the cass iron grills already dug into the ground.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: We through parties my brother. My brother still got card
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: parties at his house. When my older brother died. We
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: stopped for six months because we was morning. But we're
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: back now. Thank you. Sip your comments, son, Today's strawberry letters, fine,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Instagram and Facebook coming up in forty six minutes after
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: the hour. That the majority of my friends ain't got
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: no damn college hoarding corma. We're gonna talk about that
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: All right, So a mom in the UK who was
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: well prepared with a stash of eighteen rolls of toilet paper.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Eighteen rolls of toilet paper. Watched it all go down
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: the drain, and I'm talking about literally Okay. It seems
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: her kids on her stockpile of toilet paper and tossed
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: it into the bathtub, and the bathtub was filled with
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: toys and plenty of water, so the roles were just ruined. Okay,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: you hear me. People people are not feeling this. They're
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: saying it's karma because she was hoarding. That's too much
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: toilet paper to have. Uh. Speaking of hoarding, Costco usually
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: has a very you know, lenient return policy. Uh. Posts
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: on several Instagram accounts not the story is official one though,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: show that many stories are refusing to take returns on
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: things such as toilet paper, paper, towels, rice, sanitizing wipes,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: and lysol. Yeah, if this is a policy. Many on
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: the internet support the idea because they say, maybe people
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: now will think twice about panicking and buying, you know,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: the next time panic buying and and hord. But y'all
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: don't think we ain't supposed to whoop them kids ass though,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: But hopefully that many rolls a tilet paper. I'm sorry,

- 1:07:27Speaker 1: standing there, come on just to look on my daddy face,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: gonna let me know. This is this my damn near

- 1:10:20Speaker 1: take this. I need to take this back to day. Okay,
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: these are excuses people are using to get out of

- 1:12:06Speaker 1: three hours sight, that's genius and one month. Just straight
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: being honest, just straight, being honest. What I'm doing is
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: excuses that people are using to get out of the house.

- 1:13:24Speaker 1: because I work so much. But I've discovered that I'm not.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: It took me. I've adjusted now, but I ain't know
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: what to do it first. Coming up more of today's
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: trending stories on the Steve Harvey Morning Show at twenty
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: minutes after the hour. Right after this, you're listening to
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. The Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: is dedicating this show to the medical workers and all
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: the healthcare perpemis guys on the front line, okay, because
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: they are risking their lives. Yes, yes, yes, yes they are.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: The saluts happen all over the world. In Paris, did
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: you guys see this? Uh, the Eiffel Tower lit up
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: a sparkling tribute to the medical workers last night. That
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: was last night. I did, yeah, that last night. It
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: was also in Spain. Every night citizens go out on
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: their balconies and clap for the medical workers on the
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: front line. And we also want to shout out to
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: the grocery store staff. Okay, the grocery store staff, because
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: they're working. They're still working. I did yesterday. Oh my god,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: would you say, Tommy, I did it yesterday. I want
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: you know, you gotta get in line. You gotta stand
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: like three feet away from each other. It takes you
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: a minute to get in. It took me about fifteen
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: twenty minutes to get in. But it's a it's a
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: whole process. But they they are actually making sure they
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: wipe down every basket. I mean they sanitize and everything
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: you capt. They trying to make sure that you are comfortable,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: and then of course you're gonna sanitize it down too.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: But yeah, it is what it is. But they doing
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: their job. If people at the grocery store doing I'm
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: surprised your germaphobic tailed is out. You know what. I
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: wouldn't have been at but I was trying to make
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: some red beans and rice and I was missing one
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: ingredient and I was not gonna cook it without having it,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: So I was right, yea one of them. All right.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: More of the Steve Harvey Morning Show. More of this
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: craziness coming up at thirty three minutes after the hour.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Well, guys,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: the Corona virus pandemic has changed everything. New York, Yeah,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: is at the epicenter of this disease. Governor Andrew Cuomo
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: blasts arrogant and sensitive New Yorkers who are not practicing
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: social distancing. Some people just will not stay at home. Also,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: governors in Washington, California, Ohio, Louisiana, and Illinois have implemented
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: shelter in place orders Republican Senator Ran Paul from Kentucky
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: has become the first Senator to test positive for COVID nineteen.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: And now you taught Senator met Romney will self quarantine
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: after exposure to the virus. President and his response to
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: the news of romney self quarantine said, too bad. Wow,
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: listen quick, that's say something real quick. If you want
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: to see some sense in a press conference, watched any
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: of these governors and mayors from any city. Romo is
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: the beat j Como is out of New York, A
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: big boy, so much sense. I like presidential. I liked
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: the boy out of Washington. I like the mayor of
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: Los Angeles that I've been talking now. I watched Donald
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Trump on television yesterday doing his State of Day speech,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: and he was doing okay, trying to give out information,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: and he said, you know, look, it's hard to be
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: a rich guy and be president. I've lost pell of
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: dollars since I became president, Billy, But it's okay. I
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: haven't taken my salary. Now make four hundred and fifty
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: thousand dollars a year. You know, that's a lot of
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: money for anybody, even even for a rich guy. I
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: was just listening to this dude, going, man, it's this
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: dude for okay, But un did you hear him say
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: that they help people that have died before that have
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: never died. There are people dying who have never died before.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: This is a dude whose specialty is definitely not public
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: speaking now or leaders. Now, here's what's interesting. I was
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: listening to the retired army general who got down there
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: and took over in Contrina, and he was saying, this
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: is what the United States should do for logistical purposes.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: All of the equipment should come through the Army because
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: they know how to do logistics and get it to
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: everywhere it needs to go. Because what's going to happen
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: is these medical supplies become available and then certain cities
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: go by all of them. Then they'll have all of them.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: Another city I have none. He say. Logistics comes into
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: play where you know how to give out certain for
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: so much time so as to apply come in. Everybody
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: gets a two weeks supply. Then in ten days you
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: resupply everybody. All right, coming up, our last break of
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: the day is the last break up the day. Wow,
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: he said it right that time. You know what he's
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: doing you know what he doing. Okay, come on Team Jay.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: All right, and some closing remarks from the one and
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey the forty nine minutes after right after this,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: you're listening to show. All right, here we are our
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: last break of the day, break up the day you're
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: on today. I loved it. Yeah. Before we get out
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: of your guys, before Steve does his closing remarks, we
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: have to shout out truck drivers as well. We shout
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: it out our medical workers and healthcare professionals on the
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: frontline are grocery store workers, but truck drivers driving those
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: double and triple shifts. Thank you guys, Thank you guys.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: All over the country they drive making sure that the
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: grocery stores and the stores are stopped, their shelves are stopped. Soro.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: Thank you guys so much. We appreciate the purposes. Shout
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: out on them on the front doing it getting it out.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I want to, I want to. My clothes remark today
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: is these are not my words. I'm going to read
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: to you, uh, something that somebody sent to me to
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: day from being or Gates and I thought it was
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: just really really on point. So once again, these are
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: not my words. I'm reading a message that Bill Gates
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: sent out, and the subject is what is the Corona
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: COVID nineteen virus really teaching us? These are Bill Gates's words,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: not mine. Everybody, he said, I'm a strong believer that
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: there is a spiritual purpose behind everything that happens, whether
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: that is what we perceive as being good or being bad.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: As I meditate upon this, I want to share with
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: you what I feel the Corona COVID nineteen virus is
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: really doing to us. Number one, it's reminding us that
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: we are all equal, regardless of our culture, religion, occupation,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: financial situation, and how famous or how famous we are.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: This disease treats us all equally. Perhaps we should too
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: if you don't believe me, Just as Tom Hanks. Number two,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: it is reminding us that we are all connected, and
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: something that affects one person has an effect on another.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: It is reminding us that the false borders that we
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: have put up have little value, as this virus does
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: not need a passport. It is reminding us, by oppressing
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: us for a short time, of those in this world
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: whose whole life is spent in oppression. Number three, it
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: is reminding us how precious our health is, and how
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: we have moved to neglect it through eating nutrient poor
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: manufactured food and drinking water that is contaminated with chemicals
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: upon chemicals. If we don't look after our health, we
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: will of course get sick. Number four. It is reminding
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: us of the shortness of life, of what is most
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: important to us to do, which is to help each other,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: especially those who are old or sick. Our purpose is
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: not to buy toilet roll. Number five. It is reminding
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: us how materialistic our society has become, and how when
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: in times of difficulty we remember that it's the essentials
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: that we need food, water, medicine, as opposed to the
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: luxuries that we sometimes unnecessarily give value to. Number six.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: It is reminding us how important our family and home
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: life is and how much we have neglected this. It
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: is forcing us back into our houses so we can
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: rebuild them into our home and to strengthen our family unit.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: Number seven. It's reminding us that our true work is
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: not our job that is what we do, not what
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: we're c not what we were created to do. Our
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: true work is to look after each other, to protect
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: each other, and to be of benefit to one another
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: Number eight, it is reminding us to keep our egos
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: and check. It is reminding us that no matter how
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: great we think we are, how great others think we are,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: a virus can bring our world to a stand still.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: Number nine it is reminding us that the power of
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: free will is in our hands. We can choose to
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: cooperate and to help each other, to share, to give,
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: to help, and to support each other. Or we could
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: choose to be selfish, to hoard, to look after only ourselves. Indeed,
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: it is difficulties that bring out our true colors. Number
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: ten is reminding us that we can be patient or
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: we can panic. We can either understand that this type
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: of situation has happened many times before in history and
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: will pass, or we can panic and see it as
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: the end of the world and consequently cause ourselves more
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: harm than good. Number eleven is reminding us that this
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: can either be an end or a new beginning. This
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: can be a time of reflection and understanding where we
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: learn from our mistake, or it can be the start
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: of a cycle which will continue until we finally learn
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: the lesson we are meant to. Number twelve is reminding
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: us that this earth is sick. It is reminding us
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: that we need to look at the rate of deforestation
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: just as urgently as we look at the speed of
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: which toilet rolls are disappearing off of our shells. We
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: are sick because our home is sick. It is reminding
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: us that after every difficulty, there's always ease. Life is cyclical,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: and this is just a phase in this great cycle.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: We do not need to panic. This two shall pass.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: And finally, whereas many see the Corona COVID nineteen virus
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: as a great disaster, I prefer to see it as
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: a great corrector. It is meant to remind us of
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: the important lessons that we seem to have forgotten, and
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: it's up to us if we will learn them or not.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: That was a letter that was written by Bill Gates,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: and friend of mine sent it to me, and I
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: just wanted to share with you all because Don seemed
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: to sum it up so greatly about his views of
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: the coronavirus, and I just felt the same way about it.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: You know, we should, We should all get hopeful about
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: this situation, because one thing for shore, this two will pass.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Nothing lasts forever. It's just you're gonna view your glass
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: as half empty or half full. I choose to look
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: at mine as half full. Those are my clothes. Remarks
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: that Dave and it's Monday man. Y'all have a great
