- 0:00I'm thinking today of Psalm 34 6. It says this,
- 0:03this poor man cried and the Lord heard him and
- 0:05saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 34 6.
- 0:09Crying out to God is simply the wise thing to
- 0:11do. It isn't usually done because it's the wise
- 0:13thing to do. It's done because the pain or difficulty
- 0:16becomes too great. Maybe it's a last resort.
- 0:19Sometimes people go there much more quickly.
- 0:21Sometimes God intervenes and brings the person
- 0:24out to safety and freedom from troubles. Sometimes
- 0:27it seems God doesn't. I think God knows best.
- 0:31Sometimes the trouble, like the thorn in the
- 0:32flesh, is needed to keep the person from something
- 0:35far worse, or it has a result that is desirable,
- 0:38actually. God can hear and can act, and indeed
- 0:42does for the one who believes. Knowing God can
- 0:45and will is part of what makes faith productive,
- 0:47knowing he rewards those who seek him. So turn
- 0:50your heart's desire over. Call on him for his
- 0:53intervention. Trust him to do what's best. And
- 0:56whenever your tendency would be to trust less,
- 0:57trust more instead. Trust that the pathway through
- 1:01being poor or sick or whatever may actually be
- 1:04the pathway to his perfect assistance. When we
- 1:07arrive in heaven to perfect eternity, we won't
- 1:10much care about the events of our lives that
- 1:12seemed to stink at the time. They will only be
- 1:14reasons for greater praise.
