Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Sting has done very well for himself thanks to a
- 0:04Speaker 2: fifty year career as a singer, writer, band member, producer,
- 0:09Speaker 2: and actor, along with some wise investments, and for many
- 0:14Speaker 2: years now, he's made it clear that he won't.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Be passing his life savings down to his six adult kids.
- 0:21Speaker 1: But that's because he says he's given them something far
- 0:24Speaker 1: more valuable and extraordinary work ethics. Sting was on CBS
- 0:28Speaker 1: Sunday morning promoting his musical The Last Ship, about blue
- 0:31Speaker 1: collar shipbuilders in his home city of Newcastle.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Yeah, he actually opened up about how connected he still
- 0:36Speaker 2: feels to their middle class values. He personally loves to
- 0:41Speaker 2: work and always has, and thinks people who set up
- 0:44Speaker 2: their kids to.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Never have to work are actually doing them to service.
- 0:48Speaker 1: He went so far as to call it a form
- 0:50Speaker 1: of abuse. So that's why Sting told his kids, if
- 0:52Speaker 1: their whole lives, he won't be passing his fortune down
- 0:55Speaker 1: to them. He'd paid for their education, that sort of stuff,
- 0:57Speaker 1: but it would be up to them to pave their
- 0:59Speaker 1: way finance.
- 1:00Speaker 2: And to Sting's credit, they have. He's proud of how
- 1:03Speaker 2: successful all six.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Have been and none need him to carry them.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Tickets for Sting's three point zero tour are on sale now.
- 1:12Speaker 2: That's direct from Hollywood.
