Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Liberal Logic on Iran, Hegseth takes it to the Media & Screwing up the Iranian End Game Week In Review
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Ted Cruz, Weekend Review, Ben
- 0:04Speaker 1: Ferguson with you, and here are the big stories that
- 0:06Speaker 1: we talked about this week that you may have missed.
- 0:08Speaker 1: First up, talk about liberal logic since the attack on Iran.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Liberals are afraid of Iran's response to what Donald Trump
- 0:17Speaker 1: is doing, say, you can be starting World War three,
- 0:19Speaker 1: yet they're not afraid of Iran actually getting a nuclear weapon.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We'll break that down for you. Also, the DoD Secretary
- 0:26Speaker 1: Pete Headseth briefing doing it directly to the media, calling
- 0:31Speaker 1: them out to their faces on their lies about the
- 0:34Speaker 1: damage assessment. And finally, the big question moving forward is
- 0:39Speaker 1: what's next and what can happen if we screw up
- 0:42Speaker 1: the endgame. It's the weekend Review and it starts right now.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Let's talk a little bit about the liberal logic that
- 0:49Speaker 1: has been coming out of so many Democrats since this
- 0:51Speaker 1: attack took place. And the people who seem to be
- 0:55Speaker 1: obsessing over Iran's response, implying that their response is Donald
- 1:00Speaker 1: Trump's fault that they're going to respond are the same
- 1:04Speaker 1: idiots that we're not afraid of Iran getting a nuclear weapon.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Can you explain that liberal logic.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Please. Sadly, Today's Democrat party sides with every enemy of America.
- 1:15Speaker 2: They side on the other side.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Look.
- 1:19Speaker 2: JK Rowling tweeted this weekend about this person, India Willoughby.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Now I'll confess I have no idea who India Willoughby is.
- 1:27Speaker 2: But JK Rowling tweeted, India a fan of women, hating
- 1:31Speaker 2: gay hating, authoritating authoritarian regime. Color me astonished. So I
- 1:36Speaker 2: went and googled who is this India Willoughby person? And
- 1:39Speaker 2: it turns out, according to Wikipedia quote, she is Britain's
- 1:43Speaker 2: first transgender national television newsreader. Now pause for a second.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Ben Iran murders transgender people. They throw them off buildings.
- 1:56Speaker 2: If you are gay, they murder you. And think about
- 2:01Speaker 2: the mindset of a leftist who this transgender news reader
- 2:07Speaker 2: in I guess the UK is like, even though the
- 2:12Speaker 2: Iyahtola wants to murder me, I stand with the Ayatola
- 2:16Speaker 2: rather than America. That is how messed up leftists are
- 2:20Speaker 2: right now, They're like, oh, homicidal theocratic women are pressing gay, murdering, torturing,
- 2:28Speaker 2: genocidal lunatics. Those are my people.
- 2:33Speaker 1: It doesn't make any sense to me and then you
- 2:35Speaker 1: go back to also the quotes that people have been posting,
- 2:39Speaker 1: and I think it's really important that history reflect. You
- 2:42Speaker 1: go back to Bill Clinton, Senator, and he said that
- 2:45Speaker 1: Iran couldn't get a nuclear weapon. Hillary Clinton when she
- 2:48Speaker 1: was a senator, Secretary of State and running for president,
- 2:51Speaker 1: said Iran cannot get a nuclear weapon. Barack Obama said
- 2:56Speaker 1: that he cannot get a nuclear weapon. You had Joe
- 2:58Speaker 1: Biden that said they couldn't get anclear weapon, and then
- 3:01Speaker 1: they're at sixty plus percent and Donald Trump stops him,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and then all of the lefts like, you can't do that.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You're gonna start World War three. This is somehow your fault.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You're the aggressor.
- 3:13Speaker 2: And understand the reason we are here is because of
- 3:16Speaker 2: Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Barack Obama negotiated the disastrous
- 3:20Speaker 2: Iran nuclear deal that flooded billions and billions of dollars
- 3:25Speaker 2: into Iran. Listen, remember Obama literally flew one point seven
- 3:29Speaker 2: billion dollars of cash unmarked bills on a palette to
- 3:32Speaker 2: deliver to the Iyahtola. That agreement set the stage for
- 3:36Speaker 2: Iran to get nuclear weapons. Donald Trump, when he came
- 3:40Speaker 2: in as.
- 3:40Speaker 1: President for a second, and just now, in hindsight, what
- 3:45Speaker 1: really was that deal? Was that dal a, Hey, I
- 3:48Speaker 1: don't want to have to deal with you guys, so
- 3:49Speaker 1: let's just you kind of play nice for me and
- 3:52Speaker 1: then I'll kick the can down the road to another administration. Like,
- 3:55Speaker 1: in hindsight, what was that? Why did we do that deal?
- 3:59Speaker 2: It was rat ideology. You know, when Barack Obama first
- 4:02Speaker 2: became president, he went and gave a speech at the
- 4:05Speaker 2: University of Cairo in Egypt, and in that speech he
- 4:08Speaker 2: said Iran has a right and he used the word right,
- 4:13Speaker 2: a right to nuclear technology. Now that is nutty. That is,
- 4:18Speaker 2: I'm familiar with the right to the pursuit of happiness.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I'm not familiar with a right to possess thermonuclear weapons.
- 4:25Speaker 2: And at the end of the day, I think Barack
- 4:28Speaker 2: Obama and his entire team came in with an ideological
- 4:32Speaker 2: view that America's role in the world is fundamentally illegitimate,
- 4:36Speaker 2: that we are colonial oppressors. Look, as you know, my
- 4:39Speaker 2: last book was Unwoke, How to Defeat Cultural Marxism in America.
- 4:42Speaker 2: These are the cultural Marxists. They view America as illegitimate
- 4:47Speaker 2: and therefore they viewed that we have no business, we
- 4:50Speaker 2: have no right stopping Iran from getting nuclear weapons. Listen,
- 4:55Speaker 2: the Obama Ran nuclear deal would inevitably lead to I
- 4:59Speaker 2: Ran with nuclear weapon. And these guys are not idiots.
- 5:01Speaker 2: They knew that. They're fine with that outcome because they
- 5:06Speaker 2: believe America has no right to prevent it. My view is,
- 5:08Speaker 2: yes we do. If you've got a lunatic who's sang
- 5:11Speaker 2: death to America and we have the power to stop
- 5:14Speaker 2: him from getting nuclear weapons, we will use that power
- 5:17Speaker 2: because the commander in chief is not going to fail
- 5:20Speaker 2: to protect America. And I got to say, by the way,
- 5:23Speaker 2: the useful idiots across the globe a you've got the
- 5:25Speaker 2: Democrats today who are all chirping about how dare you
- 5:28Speaker 2: act to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. We
- 5:31Speaker 2: also had the Secretary of the United Nations, Antonio Guterras,
- 5:36Speaker 2: who put out a statement I'm going to read it
- 5:37Speaker 2: to you quote. I am gravely alarmed by the use
- 5:40Speaker 2: of force by the United States against Iran today. This
- 5:44Speaker 2: is a dangerous escalation in a region already on the
- 5:47Speaker 2: edge and a direct threat to international peace and security.
- 5:52Speaker 2: There is a growing risk that this conflict could rapidly
- 5:55Speaker 2: get out of control, with catastrophic consequences for civilians, the region,
- 5:59Speaker 2: and the world. I call on member states to de
- 6:03Speaker 2: escalate and to uphold their obligations under the UN Charter
- 6:06Speaker 2: and other rules of international law. At this perilous hour,
- 6:11Speaker 2: it is critical to avoid a spiral of chaos. There
- 6:14Speaker 2: is no military solution. The only path forward is diplomacy.
- 6:19Speaker 2: The only hope is peace. What a blithering idiot. I'll
- 6:24Speaker 2: tell you what I tweeted today. I tweeted, of course,
- 6:27Speaker 2: the UN sides with Iran clown face emoji clown face,
- 6:31Speaker 2: emoji clown face emergent. The only thing they couldn't decide
- 6:37Speaker 2: is which chant they agree with more strongly, quote death
- 6:41Speaker 2: to Israel or quote death to America. And then I
- 6:45Speaker 2: asked a simple question, Remind me again why we're paying
- 6:49Speaker 2: their bills.
- 6:51Speaker 1: It's a fair question. And you've got to wonder what's
- 6:53Speaker 1: the even point of being involved that if this is
- 6:55Speaker 1: how insane they actually are, so what's move?
- 6:58Speaker 2: But by the way, Ben I also so observed, I
- 7:01Speaker 2: think Tehran would make a lovely UN headquarters, just located
- 7:06Speaker 2: right there. Maybe on the smoldering ashes of FDA, we
- 7:09Speaker 2: can put put the UN there, and they can all
- 7:12Speaker 2: get together with their anti Israel hate and their anti
- 7:14Speaker 2: American hate, and they can sit there and glow radioactive
- 7:18Speaker 2: while they talk about developing developing nuclear weapons to bomb America.
- 7:23Speaker 1: At least it would be intellectually honest, like where's the UN.
- 7:25Speaker 1: It's in Tehran. Okay, that makes sense.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Look, that's who they This should not be complicated Iran, Like,
- 7:38Speaker 2: let me ask you, Ben, seriously, put yourself in the
- 7:40Speaker 2: head of the UN Secretary General. How do you look
- 7:43Speaker 2: at this and say where do I stand? I know
- 7:46Speaker 2: with Iran, Like what thought pressis goes through your brain?
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, what's the upside of doing that? And why? And
- 7:53Speaker 1: especially if you know what Iran just did and how
- 7:56Speaker 1: many terrorist organizations they've supported that are just beyond I
- 8:00Speaker 1: mean factually accurate hamas HESBLA, and the UN's like we
- 8:04Speaker 1: got you, We're going to cover for you. Don't worry,
- 8:06Speaker 1: we got your back. It is and that's the reason
- 8:09Speaker 1: why I think it delegitimizes the United Nations to the
- 8:11Speaker 1: point where I just roll my eyes at them. Now
- 8:13Speaker 1: I don't pay attention to what they say. Final question,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and this is what is next. It's very clear. There's
- 8:20Speaker 1: a warning from this present don't screw with us moving forward.
- 8:24Speaker 1: If Iran is dumb enough to retaliate against Americans in
- 8:28Speaker 1: the Middle East, maybe even shutting down the Strait of
- 8:31Speaker 1: Horn Moves, what is the presence obligation moving forward on that.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Well, one of the consequences of the bombing run is
- 8:39Speaker 2: the parliament in Iran did vote to shut down the
- 8:41Speaker 2: Straits of her Moves. Now, the Parliament's not the decision
- 8:45Speaker 2: maker at the end of the day, the Iatola is
- 8:46Speaker 2: the decision maker. So it's not clear if Iran is
- 8:49Speaker 2: going to do so or not. If it did so,
- 8:51Speaker 2: it would impact America, but it would impact China even more.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Roughly half of the oil that China uses travels through
- 8:58Speaker 2: the Straits of hor Moos. A very small percentage of
- 9:01Speaker 2: American oil travels through there. But that being said, if
- 9:05Speaker 2: the Straits of our Moves were shut down, it would
- 9:07Speaker 2: impact Americas because it would drive up global oil prices,
- 9:11Speaker 2: it would drive up gasoline prices at home, and that
- 9:13Speaker 2: would impact Americans. I hope that doesn't happen. I think
- 9:17Speaker 2: if they try to shut down those major trade routes
- 9:20Speaker 2: and commerce fruits, I think we will see, we will
- 9:23Speaker 2: see force to open them up because Iran does not
- 9:25Speaker 2: have the right to shut down the ability of America
- 9:28Speaker 2: and the rest of the world to engage in trade
- 9:30Speaker 2: and commerce. That is a possible escalation. I think the
- 9:34Speaker 2: most likely escalation is going to be continued a tax
- 9:38Speaker 2: on civilians in Israel, because at the end of the day,
- 9:41Speaker 2: I think the Iotola and the Mullahs they hate the
- 9:44Speaker 2: Jewish people, and murdering innocent civilians is something that they
- 9:50Speaker 2: believe in. I worry, as I said, about the risk
- 9:54Speaker 2: of terrorist attacks as well. I think those are, sadly
- 9:58Speaker 2: the two most likely the people of Israel. I know
- 10:01Speaker 2: the government of Israel that the Iron Dome, they're working
- 10:04Speaker 2: hard to protect their civilians. America is assisting in that,
- 10:08Speaker 2: and here at home, law enforcement and Homeland Security in
- 10:11Speaker 2: the Department of Justice are all working hard to intercept
- 10:16Speaker 2: and stop any terrorist attack before it occurs. But understand,
- 10:21Speaker 2: these are dangerous times. But they're dangerous times because we
- 10:24Speaker 2: have enemies that wish to do harm to America. And
- 10:28Speaker 2: that's why the responsibility that the President has is so
- 10:31Speaker 2: grave and serious. And I will say, listening to President
- 10:34Speaker 2: Trump speaks Saturday night, I think there are times where
- 10:38Speaker 2: the weight of the job really falls on his shoulders
- 10:41Speaker 2: and he feels it, and I think Saturday night was
- 10:44Speaker 2: one of them, because it was an incredibly consequential moment
- 10:49Speaker 2: in our nation's history, and a very positive moment of
- 10:53Speaker 2: the President standing up and saying, my first responsibility is
- 10:57Speaker 2: to defend America, and I will not shirk for that responsibility.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 11:04Speaker 1: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 11:06Speaker 1: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two, Senator,
- 11:11Speaker 1: I want to play for everybody Pete Headseth at the
- 11:15Speaker 1: Pentagon briefing about how effective this attack actually was and
- 11:21Speaker 1: saying it directly to the media's phase. Take a listen be.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Some of the assessments that have been provided, because whether
- 11:28Speaker 4: it's fake news, CNN, MSNBC or The New York Times,
- 11:33Speaker 4: there's been fawning coverage of a preliminary assessment.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I've had a chance to read it.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Every outlet has breathlessly reported on a preliminary assessment from
- 11:43Speaker 4: DA I'm looking at it right now again. It was
- 11:48Speaker 4: preliminary a day and a half after the actual strike,
- 11:51Speaker 4: when it admits itself in writing that it requires weeks
- 11:54Speaker 4: to accumulate the necessary data to make such an assessment's preliminary.
- 11:58Speaker 4: It points out that it's not been coordinated with the
- 12:01Speaker 4: intelligence community at all. There's low confidence in this particular reports,
- 12:06Speaker 4: it says in the report.
- 12:07Speaker 3: There are gaps in the information. It says in the report.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Multiple lynchpin assumptions are what this assessment a lynchpin assumption?
- 12:15Speaker 3: You know what that is.
- 12:16Speaker 4: It means your entire premis is predicated on a lynch pin.
- 12:19Speaker 3: If you're wrong, everything else is wrong.
- 12:21Speaker 4: And yet still this report acknowledges it's likely severe damage.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Again, this is preliminary, but.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Leaked because someone had an agenda to try to muddy
- 12:31Speaker 4: the waters and make it look like this historic strike
- 12:34Speaker 4: I wasn't successful. I'm gonna get to the chairman in
- 12:36Speaker 4: a moment, because he's going to lay out the particulars
- 12:38Speaker 4: for you based on his professional military experience. But here's
- 12:42Speaker 4: what other folks are saying. THEDIA that put that report
- 12:45Speaker 4: out says that this is a preliminary, low confidence report
- 12:49Speaker 4: and will continue to be refined as additional intelligence becomes available.
- 12:55Speaker 4: How about the Israeli Atomic Energy Commission, The devastating US
- 12:59Speaker 4: strikes on four doh destroyed the site's critical infrastructure and
- 13:03Speaker 4: rendered the enrichment facility inoperable. Have any of these quotes
- 13:07Speaker 4: made their way into the New York Times or The
- 13:08Speaker 4: Washington Post, MSNBC, CNN, any of these quotes? How about
- 13:14Speaker 4: this one? This is a new one from the UN.
- 13:15Speaker 4: The United Nations no friend of the United States or
- 13:19Speaker 4: certainly Israel often. Here's the head of the UN Atomic
- 13:23Speaker 4: Energy Agency this morning, Raphael Grossi. US and Israeli strikes
- 13:28Speaker 4: caused enormous damage to Iran's nuclear sites.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Don't take my word for it.
- 13:34Speaker 4: How about the IDF's chief of staff. I can say
- 13:37Speaker 4: here that the assessment is that we significantly damaged the
- 13:40Speaker 4: nuclear program, setting it back by years.
- 13:43Speaker 3: I repeat years.
- 13:45Speaker 4: The Iranian foreign minister the spokesman, our nuclear instrations have
- 13:49Speaker 4: been badly damaged, that's for sure.
- 13:52Speaker 3: I'm sure that's an understatement.
- 13:54Speaker 4: John Radcliffe, the director of the CIA, putting out a
- 13:57Speaker 4: statement just last night, CIA confirmed that a body of
- 14:01Speaker 4: credible intelligence indicates Iran's nuclear program has been severely damaged
- 14:06Speaker 4: by recent targeted stripes.
- 14:08Speaker 3: This includes new intelligence from.
- 14:10Speaker 4: A historically reliable very different than preliminary assessment with low confidence.
- 14:16Speaker 3: He's saying historically.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Reliable and accurate source and method that several key Iranian
- 14:21Speaker 4: nuclear facilities were destroyed and would have to be rebuilt
- 14:27Speaker 4: over the course of years.
- 14:29Speaker 1: You listen to all of that data, and I love
- 14:32Speaker 1: how he laid it out. He's not just saying this
- 14:34Speaker 1: is from our administration, this is from people that hate us,
- 14:37Speaker 1: this from the UN, this is from ran Like, how
- 14:40Speaker 1: the hell did you guys go with this report when
- 14:42Speaker 1: it's so aw from reality.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Look, I think the evidence is indisputable and it's worth noting,
- 14:53Speaker 2: he said. The Secretary of Defense said in that press
- 14:56Speaker 2: conference that the Iranian nuclear weapons program has set been
- 15:00Speaker 2: set back years. I can tell you I spent an
- 15:03Speaker 2: hour and a half in a classified briefing. I can't
- 15:06Speaker 2: tell you what was in that briefing, but we heard
- 15:08Speaker 2: nothing that was inconsistent with what the Secretary of Defense
- 15:12Speaker 2: said in that press conference, which is that this military
- 15:16Speaker 2: attack set Iran's nuclear program back years. It was incredibly effective,
- 15:23Speaker 2: and so that is caused for celebration, which is why
- 15:26Speaker 2: the Democrats don't want people to know about it. The
- 15:28Speaker 2: media don't want people to know about it. But I
- 15:30Speaker 2: have to say I mentioned at the outside of this program,
- 15:33Speaker 2: we we're going to discuss what happened, but every bit
- 15:36Speaker 2: is importantly We're going to discuss what's going to happen next.
- 15:40Speaker 2: And listen, it's one thing to talk about where the
- 15:43Speaker 2: puck is today, but you've got to look at where
- 15:45Speaker 2: the puck is going to be tomorrow and where the
- 15:49Speaker 2: puck is going to be tomorrow. There was a CNN
- 15:51Speaker 2: report that came out this week that said, quote, the
- 15:56Speaker 2: Trump admin is considering offering I ran a series of
- 15:59Speaker 2: may your benefits to bring it back to the negotiating table.
- 16:04Speaker 2: According to the report, Washington is considering helping Iran establish
- 16:09Speaker 2: a nuclear program for the purpose of producing civilian energy
- 16:15Speaker 2: at a cost of about thirty billion dollars, easing sanctions
- 16:20Speaker 2: and unfreezing billions of frozen Iranian dollars. And I will
- 16:25Speaker 2: tell you within the Trump administration right now, there is
- 16:28Speaker 2: a battle. There were voices within the Trump administration. These
- 16:31Speaker 2: are the voices that opposed the strike on Iran, that
- 16:35Speaker 2: wanted to have weakness and appeasement towards Iran, who are
- 16:39Speaker 2: now saying, well, after the strike, after victory, we should
- 16:44Speaker 2: flow billions of dollars to Iran. We should let them
- 16:47Speaker 2: sell oil, let them sell oil to China. We should
- 16:51Speaker 2: let them make billions. And I got to tell you
- 16:53Speaker 2: this is the same failed approach of Barack Obama and
- 16:58Speaker 2: Joe Biden. We should, under no circumstances allow the Ayahtola,
- 17:03Speaker 2: who chanced death to America, who has been actively trying
- 17:07Speaker 2: to murder President Trump. We should not let him win
- 17:10Speaker 2: a windfall and get billions of dollars to use to
- 17:14Speaker 2: wage war against America.
- 17:16Speaker 1: How did we even get to this point where this
- 17:19Speaker 1: was a real possibility. Where is this coming from? Because
- 17:22Speaker 1: it is shocking. Like you said, you don't want to
- 17:24Speaker 1: do the same thing. There was a failure with the
- 17:27Speaker 1: last administrations where they're like, hey, here's billions of dollars,
- 17:30Speaker 1: we'll put it on a plane, and here's a bunch
- 17:32Speaker 1: of American money. You have a great day.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Listen their voices in the Republican Party who have decided
- 17:38Speaker 2: to embrace isolationism, who has decided to say we should
- 17:42Speaker 2: withdraw from the world. You and I talked previously on
- 17:45Speaker 2: this podcast about the interview I did with Tucker Carlson.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I knew what that was going to be I knew
- 17:51Speaker 2: when I accepted that interview that Tucker was coming after me,
- 17:53Speaker 2: that he was going to do everything he can to
- 17:56Speaker 2: blast me, And he and I spent two hours. It
- 17:59Speaker 2: was a it was a bloodbath. We were pounding the
- 18:02Speaker 2: hell out of each other. But every single thing Tucker
- 18:06Speaker 2: said about Iran and Israel proved wrong. Tucker said publicly,
- 18:10Speaker 2: if America strikes Iran, we would be dragged into World
- 18:15Speaker 2: War three. Thousands of Americans would be killed, and in
- 18:18Speaker 2: World War three we would lose. Now, Ben, that wasn't
- 18:22Speaker 2: slightly wrong, It wasn't a little bit wrong. It was
- 18:25Speaker 2: totally catastrophically utterly false. Tucker also argued with me at
- 18:29Speaker 2: great length, it's not true that Iran is trying to
- 18:33Speaker 2: murder Donald J. Trump. Well, you know, it's one thing
- 18:38Speaker 2: if you're a talk show host and you can just
- 18:41Speaker 2: kind of yell into the microphone and ignore facts. But
- 18:44Speaker 2: facts matter, The truth matters. It is an objective fact
- 18:50Speaker 2: that Iran has been trying to murder Donald J. Trump
- 18:52Speaker 2: has been trying to murder him for several years. And
- 18:56Speaker 2: I pointed this out in the interview. I put it
- 18:57Speaker 2: out afterwards. I put out the yield indictment from the
- 19:01Speaker 2: Department of Justice indicting Iranian hitmen who were here in
- 19:04Speaker 2: the United States trying to murder Donald J. Trump. I
- 19:08Speaker 2: put out video of President Trump talking about the Iranians
- 19:11Speaker 2: trying to murder him. I put out video of senior
- 19:14Speaker 2: Iranian leaders talking about their intention to murder Donald Trump.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I put out a video that the IRGC put out
- 19:22Speaker 2: an animated video of an Iranian drone murdering Donald Trump
- 19:27Speaker 2: on the golf course at mar A Lago. And it
- 19:29Speaker 2: is an objective fact. And this is where again the
- 19:33Speaker 2: sort of isolationist rhetoric is weird, because when I said
- 19:37Speaker 2: that Iran was trying to murder President Trump, and Tucker said,
- 19:42Speaker 2: I've never heard that, and then he did his kind
- 19:44Speaker 2: of weird, high pitched cackle. He then came back with
- 19:48Speaker 2: this bizarre statement, Well, if that were true, that Iran
- 19:53Speaker 2: were trying to murder Donald J. Trump, well then we
- 19:56Speaker 2: should attack them immediately, we should nuke them. And I
- 19:59Speaker 2: got say, I kind of wondered if if like Tucker
- 20:02Speaker 2: Carlson's old neo Kon. To be clear, Tucker carl said
- 20:05Speaker 2: was someone who during the Iraq War, was a cheerleader
- 20:10Speaker 2: for the Iraq War. He basically put on a short
- 20:12Speaker 2: skirt and pom poms. I think the Iraq War was
- 20:15Speaker 2: a mistake. I've been vocal about that for years. Tucker
- 20:18Speaker 2: cheered it on. It is loopy, It is fruit loops
- 20:23Speaker 2: to say you should nuk Iran because they're doing that. No,
- 20:26Speaker 2: the right thing to do is what President Trump did,
- 20:29Speaker 2: which is take out their nuclear weapons capability. And I
- 20:33Speaker 2: got to say Tucker's voice and their allies of Tucker
- 20:38Speaker 2: in the administration who were desperately trying to convince the president,
- 20:43Speaker 2: do not attack Iran, do not take out their nuclear
- 20:46Speaker 2: weapons capability, do not support it Israel, abandon Israel. They
- 20:50Speaker 2: were wrong, and they lost this battle. But the second iteration,
- 20:54Speaker 2: and this is coming is there. They're now saying, Okay,
- 21:00Speaker 2: that you've won, give the Iatola billions of dollars because
- 21:03Speaker 2: it works out really well. When you give billions of
- 21:05Speaker 2: dollars to a theocratic lunatic who says they want to
- 21:08Speaker 2: murder you and is still actively trying to murder you,
- 21:11Speaker 2: that is incredibly foolish. And so I'm merging the president,
- 21:16Speaker 2: don't listen to those voices. They were wrong before and
- 21:19Speaker 2: they're wrong now. Do not send billions of dollars to
- 21:23Speaker 2: the Iatola as before.
- 21:25Speaker 1: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
- 21:27Speaker 1: on this topic, you can go back and now the
- 21:29Speaker 1: podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I want to get back to the big story number
- 21:36Speaker 1: three of the week. You may have missed where things
- 21:38Speaker 1: are going now and how we could screw up the
- 21:42Speaker 1: in game here with a ran with some in this
- 21:45Speaker 1: country saying well, maybe we should appeased them a little bit,
- 21:48Speaker 1: doesn't make a lot of sense. Yet that's where we are.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Consider you had this to say on Haydi's show about
- 21:53Speaker 1: as well.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Say something else, Sean. There are voices in the administration
- 21:58Speaker 2: now that the president has scored an historic victory, who
- 22:02Speaker 2: are urging, let's cut a deal. Let's let Iran sell oils,
- 22:05Speaker 2: let's lift all the sanction, Let's make this a victory
- 22:08Speaker 2: for the Iyatola. Understand this Iatola still hates America, a
- 22:12Speaker 2: chance death to America, and he's been trying to murder
- 22:15Speaker 2: Donald Trump, and so it would be a catastrophic mistake
- 22:20Speaker 2: to flood billions of dollars into Iran.
- 22:23Speaker 5: I agree with you. What if they use a proxy
- 22:26Speaker 5: to attack Israel. Does that end the ceasefire? Because I
- 22:28Speaker 5: would imagine that's plant that's the next plan real quick.
- 22:33Speaker 4: You know.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I will tell you one of the best indications of
- 22:35Speaker 2: how successful this attack was. Within hours, Iran was rushing
- 22:39Speaker 2: to have a ceasefire. That's because they are utterly decimated
- 22:43Speaker 2: and weakened, and that's why they wanted to cease fire.
- 22:45Speaker 2: But don't think for a minute they suddenly love America
- 22:48Speaker 2: or love Israel. They still hate us. They are still
- 22:51Speaker 2: our enemy, but we use taking away their ability to
- 22:53Speaker 2: murder Americans.
- 22:55Speaker 5: If they use a proxy to attack Israel, are they
- 22:58Speaker 5: to blame?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Of course they are the proxies. Hesbel and Hamas work
- 23:04Speaker 2: for Iran. They pay for them, and they control them.
- 23:07Speaker 5: All right, Senator Ted Cruz, we always appreciate your time, Sentator.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Thanks strong clothes their centator. And that's it's the truth.
- 23:14Speaker 1: This is what people are trying to do now.
- 23:17Speaker 2: It absolutely is. And I'll tell you one point that
- 23:19Speaker 2: I made on Hannity that I think is powerful. We
- 23:22Speaker 2: started this show by talking about how the Democrats in
- 23:25Speaker 2: the media are trying to claim the attack was not effective.
- 23:29Speaker 2: If that were true, why did Iran immediately want a
- 23:34Speaker 2: cease fire. Look, Iran has been at war with Israel
- 23:38Speaker 2: for years. They had been lobbing missiles. They had been
- 23:41Speaker 2: funding Hamas and Hesbela. Understand Hamas more than ninety percent
- 23:46Speaker 2: of Hamas's budget comes from Iran. Hesbela more than ninety
- 23:50Speaker 2: percent of Hesbela's budget comes from Iran. Iran, when the
- 23:54Speaker 2: Iatola chance death to America and death to Israel, he
- 23:57Speaker 2: means it. They have spent millions of millionions of dollars.
- 24:00Speaker 2: They have killed thousands of American servicemen and women. They
- 24:04Speaker 2: have been the leading state sponsor of terrorism for decades.
- 24:08Speaker 2: And after this, look, Iran has had a really rough year.
- 24:12Speaker 2: October seventh. They funded October seventh and since October seventh,
- 24:17Speaker 2: Hamas has been utterly decimated. Hesbela has been utterly decimated.
- 24:20Speaker 2: But shar Asad, who was their puppet leader in Syria,
- 24:24Speaker 2: he has fallen. The Huthis who they were funding, who
- 24:26Speaker 2: were attacking American ships and shipping through the Suez Canal,
- 24:30Speaker 2: they are badly degraded. And now Iran, when they were
- 24:34Speaker 2: on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons. Look, if you're
- 24:37Speaker 2: the Ayatola and you're weak and you're collapsing. Getting a
- 24:40Speaker 2: nuclear weapon is you're hail Mary. It's the one chance
- 24:43Speaker 2: to say, Okay, we're relevant, we're strong. And then Israel
- 24:47Speaker 2: devastatingly takes out their military capability, their air defenses. The
- 24:54Speaker 2: entire course of this war, the Twelve Day War, Iran
- 24:57Speaker 2: had no control over their air defenses. Israel had totally superiority.
- 25:00Speaker 2: And then the United States when we went in and
- 25:02Speaker 2: did our bombing run, Iran could not defend themselves. And
- 25:06Speaker 2: then America comes in. I think Iran believed they could talk, talk,
- 25:10Speaker 2: talk and avoid any real consequences. I think they felt
- 25:13Speaker 2: that Forida was deep enough under a mountain there was
- 25:15Speaker 2: nothing they could do about it, and that America would
- 25:19Speaker 2: never use bunker buster bombs against him. And by the way,
- 25:22Speaker 2: Joe Biden never would have. The Democrats never would have.
- 25:25Speaker 2: But Donald J. Trump, he's not an isolationist, he's not weak,
- 25:29Speaker 2: he's not interested in a prolonged war. Note, we did
- 25:32Speaker 2: not invade Iran, we did not send boots on the ground.
- 25:35Speaker 2: We're not going there trying to turn them into a
- 25:37Speaker 2: democratic utopia. We're not trying to turn them into Switzerland.
- 25:41Speaker 2: The objective of the mission was very, very focused. It
- 25:45Speaker 2: was to stop Iran from having nuclear weapons capability. And
- 25:49Speaker 2: by the way, Ben, the reason I went on Tucker
- 25:51Speaker 2: Carlson just a week ago was to make clear that
- 25:55Speaker 2: President Trump is right and Tucker Carlson was wrong. And
- 25:59Speaker 2: I think I was unhappy with Tucker because he's been
- 26:03Speaker 2: attacking President Trump. He said that President Trump was complicit
- 26:08Speaker 2: in the attack on Iran. He claimed amazingly enough, that
- 26:13Speaker 2: Donald Trump was not America first, that if you attack Iran,
- 26:18Speaker 2: you're not America first. And President Trump quite rightly came
- 26:21Speaker 2: back and said, look, I invented the damn term, and
- 26:25Speaker 2: what I say is what America first is. And he
- 26:28Speaker 2: said to Tucker, he said, look, if you want i
- 26:31Speaker 2: Ran to have a nuclear weapon, that ain't America first,
- 26:33Speaker 2: because these lunatics want to kill us. President Trump is
- 26:37Speaker 2: exactly right, and this has been I'll tell you. I
- 26:42Speaker 2: texted him this week and I told him, mister President,
- 26:46Speaker 2: this past week has been the single finest leadership you
- 26:51Speaker 2: have had the entire time, and I'm incredibly proud of
- 26:55Speaker 2: the job you're doing, his commander in chief.
- 26:58Speaker 1: You know, one of the comparing contrasts that you talk
- 27:00Speaker 1: about with these this administration in the past was brought
- 27:03Speaker 1: up at the White House Press briefing room. Carolyn Levitt,
- 27:07Speaker 1: I think did a great job of explaining the difference,
- 27:10Speaker 1: very much like you just described it. And here's what
- 27:12Speaker 1: she said to the press about the real story here.
- 27:15Speaker 6: Gani and regime was weeks away from being able to
- 27:18Speaker 6: produce a nuclear weapon that would threaten the entire world
- 27:22Speaker 6: before President Trump took this decisive action on Saturday night
- 27:25Speaker 6: to obliterate their nuclear capabilities. The contrast and leadership could
- 27:30Speaker 6: not be more clear. Barack Obama and Joe Biden sent
- 27:33Speaker 6: palettes of cash American taxpayer dollars in a failed attempt
- 27:38Speaker 6: to buy the Iranian regime's compliance with a weak and
- 27:41Speaker 6: ineffective deal. President Trump sent a fleet of American warplanes
- 27:46Speaker 6: to destroy Ouran's ability to produce a nuclear weapon. The
- 27:50Speaker 6: United States and the entire world are safer because of
- 27:53Speaker 6: this President's decisiveness. Despite agenda driven leaks by the fake
- 27:57Speaker 6: news media aimed at undermining this incredible accomplishment achieved by
- 28:02Speaker 6: President Trump and our brave fighter pilots, there is broad
- 28:05Speaker 6: consensus emerging already that Iran's nuclear capabilities were indeed destroyed.
- 28:11Speaker 6: The United States, Israel, the United Nations, and even Iran
- 28:15Speaker 6: all agree they can no longer build a nuclear weapon.
- 28:19Speaker 6: So what did the president? Why did the president immediately
- 28:22Speaker 6: turn to obliterating after the Iranian nuclear threat? Securing peace?
- 28:27Speaker 6: Within forty eight hours of the devastating strike, President Trump
- 28:31Speaker 6: and his team broke her to historic ceasefire between Israel
- 28:34Speaker 6: and Iran and officially ended the twelve day war. The
- 28:38Speaker 6: Middle East is now shifting away from chaos and bloodshed
- 28:41Speaker 6: and moving toward the beginning stages of a new era
- 28:44Speaker 6: of peace and stability that President Trump has long called
- 28:48Speaker 6: on them to achieve. This was unthinkable at this time
- 28:52Speaker 6: last week. And this is what peace through strength looks like.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I mean, it's just laying it out right to their faces, right.
- 28:59Speaker 1: This is what the President said, this is what he believed,
- 29:03Speaker 1: this is what he was gonna do. We're not back down.
- 29:04Speaker 1: And she also said something else that also the dard
- 29:08Speaker 1: said several different ways, how dare you not just give
- 29:13Speaker 1: some accolades the men and women that risk their lives
- 29:15Speaker 1: to pull this off and did it flawlessly?
- 29:19Speaker 3: Look?
- 29:19Speaker 2: Peace through strength is exactly what this is. And the
- 29:22Speaker 2: Left that they have a bizarre view that weakness and
- 29:26Speaker 2: appeasement somehow avoids war. Listen, if you look through history,
- 29:30Speaker 2: the opposite is true. Weakness and appeasement encourages our enemies.
- 29:35Speaker 2: They engage in more hostilities, you get more war. I
- 29:39Speaker 2: have joked, but there is a reason nobody goes and
- 29:42Speaker 2: studies at the Neville Chamberlain School of Foreign Affairs. Appeasement
- 29:48Speaker 2: doesn't work. Donald J. Trump is a strong commander in
- 29:52Speaker 2: chief just like Ronald Reagan was. And I'll tell you
- 29:55Speaker 2: your family and my family, all of our families are
- 29:57Speaker 2: safer because President Trump act decisively to take out Iran's
- 30:02Speaker 2: nuclear weapons capability.
