- 1:31Speaker 1: Please welcome to Money Making Conversations Masterclass, the incredible much
- 1:35Speaker 1: needed Doctor Landa Raglan.
- 1:37Speaker 3: How you doing doctor, Hello, good evening, Rashawan, Thank you
- 1:42Speaker 3: so much for that glorious introduction.
- 1:45Speaker 4: How are you doing well?
- 1:46Speaker 1: You know, Albert, I'll be honest with you. I made
- 1:50Speaker 1: mistakes with my feet, doctor Raglan. And I know that's
- 1:52Speaker 1: not the first time you've heard this. You you went
- 1:54Speaker 1: into a business where you know, like you said, the
- 1:57Speaker 1: foundation of what you do in life is how you stand,
- 2:00Speaker 1: you walk, how you present yourself.
- 2:02Speaker 2: When you walk into a room.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And a lot of people are walking around were very
- 2:05Speaker 1: painful feet, Am I correct?
- 2:08Speaker 3: Absolutely not only they're they're walking around with painful, embarrassing
- 2:13Speaker 3: looking feet and uh and so what I found very
- 2:19Speaker 3: early on in my studies was that especially African American women,
- 2:26Speaker 3: they wanted to correct these problems. But they didn't just
- 2:30Speaker 3: want to get rid of the pain. They wanted the
- 2:33Speaker 3: feet to be beautiful too. So that was my AHA moment,
- 2:38Speaker 3: and I just decided that, you know, this is what
- 2:41Speaker 3: I was going to do. I'm going to focus on
- 2:43Speaker 3: this core group of UH of African American women or
- 2:49Speaker 3: women of color, and I'm going to hone my skills
- 2:54Speaker 3: in correcting bunions, hammer toes, getting rid of those those
- 2:58Speaker 3: unsightly corn But I'm not going to just get rid
- 3:02Speaker 3: of him, and I'm not going to just read you
- 3:04Speaker 3: of the pain. I'm also going to do it with
- 3:06Speaker 3: an aesthetic result.
- 3:08Speaker 2: This is a very serious subject that we're talking about.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I brought on to just talk about her career, but
- 3:12Speaker 1: more importantly, to give an outlet because a lot of people,
- 3:15Speaker 1: like I said, are walking in pain, and they're walking
- 3:18Speaker 1: in pain.
- 3:19Speaker 2: My father.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I always remember my father, you know, you know, you know,
- 3:24Speaker 1: just being honest. Was I just see him with these
- 3:26Speaker 1: huge coins on his toes, and I when I look
- 3:30Speaker 1: back now, I can only imagine how much pain he
- 3:33Speaker 1: was in because it was just it was just just
- 3:36Speaker 1: outrageously big. But he put his shows on, his shoes
- 3:40Speaker 1: on and walk out and I'm sure it was very uncomfortable.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Correct, Yeah, but guess what for Sean? For then you
- 3:48Speaker 3: guys have him. You do have a little bit of
- 3:50Speaker 3: an option, Okay.
- 3:51Speaker 5: So I sold shoes for many years before I even
- 3:56Speaker 5: thought about becoming a docter and so, and I sold
- 4:01Speaker 5: men and women's shoes, so men.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Can get wider with even in your higher end shoes. Women,
- 4:11Speaker 3: on the other hand, when you start getting into these
- 4:14Speaker 3: wide with the shoes.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Just become uglier and uglier, so it.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Almost becomes not an option for them. So even though,
- 4:27Speaker 3: like you said, I'm sure you know your father did
- 4:30Speaker 3: experience some discomfort with the corns that he had on
- 4:34Speaker 3: his feet, he did have options where he could go
- 4:39Speaker 3: and get these shoes in E with or double E
- 4:42Speaker 3: or triple E or even a quadruple E with where
- 4:46Speaker 3: women just don't have that option. And if they do
- 4:49Speaker 3: have the option, it's just something that they are not
- 4:52Speaker 3: willing to do. They don't want to go there.
- 4:56Speaker 2: You absolutely are telling the truth.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Our wesize twelve shoe and I got a and it
- 5:01Speaker 1: gave me an option to have a wide and I
- 5:03Speaker 1: got a wide shoe. And I know because I know
- 5:05Speaker 1: if I get it tight. That's what ruined my feet.
- 5:08Speaker 1: When I was a teenager and going into college, I
- 5:10Speaker 1: will really tight, narrow shoes, and they were pointy toe,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and I ignored the pain. I ignored my shoe rubbing
- 5:18Speaker 1: against rubbing up against the side of my foot. I
- 5:21Speaker 1: ignored the fact that my my baby toe was collapsing
- 5:24Speaker 1: and as it was collapsing underneath because it was pointy toe,
- 5:28Speaker 1: so it was rubbing up against them. But guess what,
- 5:30Speaker 1: everybody was complimenting me on my shoes. Everybody those shoes,
- 5:34Speaker 1: those shoes.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, but did you take it? Did you ever
- 5:38Speaker 4: take your foot out of the slipper?
- 5:42Speaker 1: I'm telling doctor, I took it out and put it
- 5:46Speaker 1: right back in there because my ego was being fed
- 5:50Speaker 1: by people telling me it look good, not the pain
- 5:53Speaker 1: and not not not the trouble. But I really want
- 5:57Speaker 1: to talk about it because your brand is fixed your
- 5:59Speaker 1: feet and if serge corrections of painful and embarrassing, you know, deformities,
- 6:05Speaker 1: even bunyance and habitoes. Can you tell us how did
- 6:07Speaker 1: you get in this business? Because you know, we hear
- 6:10Speaker 1: different professions. We hear nurses, we have you know, obg
- 6:14Speaker 1: y n we hear all different. But did get into
- 6:17Speaker 1: the businesses you're in? How did that happen?
- 6:20Speaker 2: And where did you go to school?
- 6:22Speaker 3: Well? Well, first of all, the school that I attended
- 6:25Speaker 3: undergrad I went to University of Maryland, and then I
- 6:27Speaker 3: did five years in between Maryland and I did a
- 6:31Speaker 3: little interim before I went to my pedietary medical school.
- 6:37Speaker 3: I did some research at the National Institute of Health
- 6:40Speaker 3: NIH in dermatology, so I'm burst in skin and then
- 6:46Speaker 3: and then that's when I decided that, yeah, you know,
- 6:49Speaker 3: I'm going I'm going to definitely move forward with medical school.
- 6:53Speaker 4: And I wound up at the New York.
- 6:54Speaker 3: College of Podiatric Medicine and then I did a Rickors
- 6:59Speaker 3: uh surgical uh UH program with a UH with a
- 7:06Speaker 3: hospital that is a wild Cornell Medical School affiliate.
- 7:14Speaker 1: And then but but what really tifted you in that direction?
- 7:17Speaker 1: Because you have options? You know, you're talented, you're educated,
- 7:21Speaker 1: But what you know, because everybody has a choice to make.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And like I said, I went to college and I
- 7:26Speaker 1: wanted to be an engineer, and then I drifted between
- 7:29Speaker 1: different majors and I wound up falling with my natural
- 7:32Speaker 1: love and skill was mathematics, and I minded it out
- 7:34Speaker 1: in sociology and I graduated, and that was really the
- 7:37Speaker 1: right direction for me to go, even though I thought
- 7:40Speaker 1: engineering was the direction that I wanted to go. Did
- 7:42Speaker 1: you go in college go into college thinking about this
- 7:45Speaker 1: direction or at what point if the light bulb went
- 7:48Speaker 1: out when I went out and went above your head
- 7:50Speaker 1: and said this is where you should be porning?
- 7:52Speaker 4: Well, I knew I was going to become a doctor.
- 7:55Speaker 2: This man.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a lot of things in health I
- 8:01Speaker 3: had experienced. I had experienced now what I look back on,
- 8:06Speaker 3: it was discrimination in the health care system. I didn't
- 8:09Speaker 3: know how to explain it back then, but now I
- 8:13Speaker 3: know how to articulate it. And that's exactly what was
- 8:16Speaker 3: happening to me. So I wanted to become a doctor
- 8:18Speaker 3: because I wanted to know what the doctors knew. And
- 8:23Speaker 3: as I said, in undergraduate, I started doing research at
- 8:28Speaker 3: the National Institute of Health in dermatology. So I thought
- 8:31Speaker 3: I was going to be a dermatologist and so but
- 8:36Speaker 3: I kept getting.
- 8:36Speaker 4: These applications from p Dietary.
- 8:38Speaker 3: School, not knowing what it was, and I was throw
- 8:43Speaker 3: away the applications and one of my friends stopped by
- 8:46Speaker 3: the lab as I was about to toss another application
- 8:50Speaker 3: in the garbage.
- 8:51Speaker 4: And she stopped me and says, what are you doing?
- 8:54Speaker 4: Why are you throwing that away?
- 8:55Speaker 3: And I'm like what and she's like, that's medical school
- 9:00Speaker 3: and I was like, oh, what is it? And she didn't.
- 9:03Speaker 3: She explained to me, you know, it's medicine of the foot,
- 9:06Speaker 3: and she kind of like broke it down for me.
- 9:08Speaker 3: She says, you know that there's hair, skin, and nails
- 9:11Speaker 3: on the foot, So if you want to stop specialize
- 9:15Speaker 3: in dermatology on the foot, you.
- 9:18Speaker 6: Can do that.
- 9:18Speaker 3: And I thought that that notion was kind of cool
- 9:21Speaker 3: because I like, I like the idea of having.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Like a niche practice.
- 9:26Speaker 3: I like, you know, being you know, real specific and
- 9:30Speaker 3: being like that that top notch specialist. So I thought
- 9:35Speaker 3: I was going to specialize in dermatology revolved around the foot.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Then I get into then I get into piet Pediatric
- 9:43Speaker 3: Medical School, and I realized there's this whole surgical aspect,
- 9:49Speaker 3: which basically we're doing surgery of the bones, so it's
- 9:52Speaker 3: basically orthopedic surgery. And I'm just like, holy guacamole, we
- 9:57Speaker 3: got chips. I'm like, my hands are very dextrous. I
- 10:01Speaker 3: am very good at reproducing results. And I and when
- 10:06Speaker 3: I found out that there was this whole, big, huge
- 10:09Speaker 3: surgical aspects, I was.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Just like, this is what I want to do. Because
- 10:14Speaker 4: when I was living in the dorms.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Some ladies would stop me all the time and say, hey, hey,
- 10:19Speaker 3: and this is me as a student. I'm like a
- 10:21Speaker 3: first year, second year student and like, hey, can you
- 10:24Speaker 3: get rid of this corn right here? But I wanted
- 10:27Speaker 3: to be done cosmetically because they had seen the results
- 10:31Speaker 3: of their friends or their mom, or their aunty or
- 10:33Speaker 3: their cousins, and they didn't want that result. And I
- 10:38Speaker 3: kept hearing this over and over again throughout throughout medical school.
- 10:43Speaker 3: And then you know, and then I started seeing what
- 10:46Speaker 3: results looked like when I was in my residency program,
- 10:50Speaker 3: and I would compare what I would see on Caucasian
- 10:54Speaker 3: skin versus black skin, and I would and I would
- 10:57Speaker 3: see that those results did not translate over to the
- 11:02Speaker 3: black skin that we scar differently. So I said, you know, you.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Got to think outside the box.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You know, there's got to be a better way to
- 11:12Speaker 3: do this so we can get better results on people
- 11:16Speaker 3: of color. And so with my dermatological background, I was like, Okay,
- 11:22Speaker 3: there are ways to suit you the skin, you know,
- 11:25Speaker 3: speak more like a plastic surgeon working on one's face.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I just said, there's got to be, you know, different
- 11:31Speaker 3: ways to clothes, and maybe there's different approaches so the
- 11:36Speaker 3: scars aren't visibly noticeable to the eyes.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Maybe we can hide the scars.
- 11:41Speaker 3: And because I was afforded the opportunity to be in
- 11:46Speaker 3: such a great residency program and scrub in with literally
- 11:51Speaker 3: hundreds and hundreds of different surgeons, I got to see
- 11:55Speaker 3: people do things so many different ways. So I journal
- 12:00Speaker 3: the techniques that I thought were the most optimal, and
- 12:06Speaker 3: then I put those things together and then I put
- 12:09Speaker 3: a little bit of my special sauce.
- 12:12Speaker 4: On it, and.
- 12:15Speaker 3: And then that's how I came up with my petty
- 12:18Speaker 3: plastic Tierra toe technique. And so yes, that's that's basically,
- 12:26Speaker 3: that's basically how I how I came.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Up with with the practice.
- 12:30Speaker 3: And like I said, I started the practice to target
- 12:35Speaker 3: the specific demographic in.
- 12:38Speaker 4: My keeping in mind that the.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Procedures are for everybody. But I felt like this specific
- 12:45Speaker 3: demographic was being dismissed. They weren't being heard, and they
- 12:50Speaker 3: weren't receiving the services that they deserve, right.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Right, now, when you when you talk about trying to
- 12:57Speaker 1: do something offices technique, was it a new technique? Was
- 13:01Speaker 1: it a technique that you figured out and then when
- 13:04Speaker 1: you when you started applying it that other fellow doctors
- 13:08Speaker 1: in your industry questioned their technique or feather it was
- 13:11Speaker 1: some type of fad or some type of you know,
- 13:13Speaker 1: hype theme that you had, you would you put in place?
- 13:16Speaker 2: What was the reaction?
- 13:19Speaker 3: So you know, honestly, Rashan, I don't really pay attention
- 13:25Speaker 3: to what's it, what the other people what they're thinking. Absolutely,
- 13:30Speaker 3: because I know that I am doing something with reproducible results,
- 13:37Speaker 3: with UH with high statist with a very high satisfaction
- 13:42Speaker 3: rate for over fifteen years.
- 13:46Speaker 4: So when if I have may sayers that don't understand
- 13:53Speaker 4: my demographic right and that have been giving my demographic, the.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Demographic that I'm targeting less than what they deserve, and
- 14:02Speaker 3: if they are snubbing their noses at my technique, I
- 14:07Speaker 3: don't have time to pay attention to that. What I
- 14:11Speaker 3: do know is that that I.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Have taked like I said, it's been.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Everything about the technique is not completely new, but there
- 14:22Speaker 3: are aspects of it that are completely new. So I've taken,
- 14:26Speaker 3: like I said, different things. I saw one person do
- 14:29Speaker 3: you think one thing this way? Another person do something
- 14:32Speaker 3: another way, and I combine some of those things together,
- 14:37Speaker 3: and like I said.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Then I put Then.
- 14:40Speaker 3: As I started perfecting the technique, I started changing things
- 14:44Speaker 3: and tweaking it and just getting it so that I
- 14:47Speaker 3: can get the best result possible for these patients.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Here's a question, doctor Raglan, because I grew up with
- 14:54Speaker 1: six sisters. And I'm not saying I'm a female expert,
- 14:57Speaker 1: but I had six of them in my life, and
- 14:59Speaker 1: I guess what. They were very opinionated, and five of
- 15:02Speaker 1: them were older than me, so they did dear my vision.
- 15:05Speaker 1: When it comes to high heels, are high heels safe
- 15:08Speaker 1: to where all the time? Or is there a certain
- 15:11Speaker 1: age less weight limits for high heels? Talk about the
- 15:15Speaker 1: high heels phenomenon because they're not going away as a
- 15:19Speaker 1: part of the fashion culture. Is there a I wouldn't
- 15:23Speaker 1: use the word danger, but are they safe to where
- 15:25Speaker 1: all the time?
- 15:27Speaker 6: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
- 15:30Speaker 6: Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making
- 15:34Speaker 6: Conversations Masterclass hosted by Rashaan McDonald. Money Making Conversations Masterclass
- 15:40Speaker 6: continues online at Moneymakingconversations dot com and follow Money Making
- 15:45Speaker 6: Conversations Masterclass on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna talk about high heels like like one would
- 15:55Speaker 3: talk about alcohol.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Okay, where your high heels responsibly?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Right right?
- 16:04Speaker 3: So, and I'm saying that you you should not be
- 16:10Speaker 3: in a pair of five inch to lettos eight hours strength.
- 16:15Speaker 3: That's you know, that's bad form, that's bat decorum for
- 16:20Speaker 3: the foot.
- 16:21Speaker 4: But if you know, if.
- 16:23Speaker 3: You're having a night out and you want to look
- 16:26Speaker 3: extra and you are able to tolerate walking around in
- 16:31Speaker 3: those shoes, by all means, I think that express yourselves.
- 16:36Speaker 4: You know, go ahead, you be you.
- 16:39Speaker 3: But like I said, it's not something for you to
- 16:41Speaker 3: stand around.
- 16:42Speaker 4: In all day long for eight hours. If you're going
- 16:46Speaker 4: to wear.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Heels like you should always bring a pair of safety
- 16:51Speaker 3: shoes with you so that you can give your foot
- 16:56Speaker 3: a break from being in that declanated angle.
- 16:59Speaker 4: For so long.
- 17:01Speaker 3: And if you start to feel pain, like you shouldn't
- 17:04Speaker 3: be feeling pain, So like you were saying, you you
- 17:07Speaker 3: would feel the pain on the pinky tost so that
- 17:09Speaker 3: pinky toast starts burning. Sounds like it's about to catch
- 17:12Speaker 3: on fire. You need to come out of them and
- 17:14Speaker 3: get into your safety ship because that is a point
- 17:18Speaker 3: where your feet are literally talking to you and telling
- 17:21Speaker 3: you I need belief, Please get me out of here.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And that's and that's true.
- 17:27Speaker 1: What you're saying is very true, very true. We ignore
- 17:31Speaker 1: what our body is telling us. We ignore our body
- 17:34Speaker 1: talking to us. I ignored it, and and that's why
- 17:37Speaker 1: when I invited you on the show. You know, my
- 17:40Speaker 1: show is money Made Conversation Mas Life, they said, why
- 17:43Speaker 1: do you.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Have a foot doc through it?
- 17:44Speaker 1: Because I know how my feet impact my life every day.
- 17:48Speaker 1: You know, because of my feet, I have to soak
- 17:51Speaker 1: them once a month just to just I'm not going
- 17:54Speaker 1: to any graphic details, but I have to take care
- 17:56Speaker 1: of my feet periodically to make sure that I can
- 17:59Speaker 1: walk in the shoes that I now for myself.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Because I'm smarter now. I know about with I know about.
- 18:05Speaker 1: A round curve toe area, something that I didn't do
- 18:08Speaker 1: when I was younger. Because I and my shoes still
- 18:11Speaker 1: look smartly, they still look spooredly. People just still compliment
- 18:14Speaker 1: them or compliment me on my shoes. But I didn't
- 18:16Speaker 1: know now what advice when you when when you when
- 18:20Speaker 1: people come into your office, do you become a counselor
- 18:24Speaker 1: a person who give out advice? I know because because
- 18:29Speaker 1: they have to still take care of their feet after
- 18:32Speaker 1: you fix them correct.
- 18:34Speaker 3: So you know, I've become a little bit of everything.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I'm I'm an auntie, a sister, a best friend. I'm
- 18:42Speaker 3: all and a counselor their doctor, their surgeon. I'm all
- 18:49Speaker 3: of these things. Because I wanted women to come to
- 18:53Speaker 3: a safe place. I wanted them to come someplace where
- 18:56Speaker 3: they would get really good information. They're gonna they're gonna
- 19:01Speaker 3: get They're going to be able to make a real
- 19:03Speaker 3: good informed decision on whether or not they should move
- 19:06Speaker 3: forward with surgery.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I'm going to tell you.
- 19:10Speaker 3: If you even really need to have surgery. So I've
- 19:14Speaker 3: actually and this is how you know, this is how
- 19:17Speaker 3: I make my bread and butter.
- 19:19Speaker 4: This is I do not have a general pedietary practice.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I make my bread and butter by doing those few
- 19:26Speaker 3: services that we announced earlier. And so if and and
- 19:32Speaker 3: I want to protect my patients from going to a
- 19:35Speaker 3: predatory doctor because some of these people come in with
- 19:38Speaker 3: their really great insurance. They don't even realize how great
- 19:42Speaker 3: their insurance is, but they might not have anything that
- 19:46Speaker 3: really needs to be done, and I don't want them.
- 19:48Speaker 4: To have surgery regret or I.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Don't want them to do a prescedure that is at
- 19:53Speaker 3: high risk and they have and they really don't have symptoms.
- 19:57Speaker 4: So I'm going to.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Give my patients the best if I if I feel
- 20:02Speaker 3: like you really need the surgery done, I'm going to
- 20:05Speaker 3: do I will do the procedure. If I feel like
- 20:08Speaker 3: you really do not need the procedure done, I'm going
- 20:11Speaker 3: to tell you that now. I've even had a case
- 20:14Speaker 3: where I tried to talk the lady out of the procedure,
- 20:17Speaker 3: try to She's like.
- 20:18Speaker 4: No, you're going to come in here and you're going
- 20:19Speaker 4: to do everything. She basically told me that.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And I said, what, I got frightened because I thought
- 20:25Speaker 3: she was going to go to somebody else, and I
- 20:28Speaker 3: thought that they were going she was going to wind
- 20:30Speaker 3: up with a result that.
- 20:31Speaker 4: She wasn't going to be happy with.
- 20:33Speaker 3: So I said, you know, I basically told her, think
- 20:36Speaker 3: about it.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Call me back up. Here's my cell phone number, call me,
- 20:40Speaker 4: text me. If I don't answer the phone, text me.
- 20:43Speaker 3: And she says, I still want to do it. And
- 20:45Speaker 3: that's when I said, okay, I'll do it, you know.
- 20:48Speaker 3: But then I read her the Riot Act.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Said, you know, I told her what all her risk was.
- 20:52Speaker 3: She understood that. But really, if I feel and I
- 20:57Speaker 3: think that when I tell patients, hey.
- 20:59Speaker 4: Look you really you really don't want to do that.
- 21:02Speaker 3: I'll do this thing over here, but you really don't
- 21:05Speaker 3: need to have this sunion done.
- 21:07Speaker 4: It doesn't hurt you.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Just have a little slight thump over there and you
- 21:13Speaker 3: can fit into your shoes. It's not an issue for you.
- 21:16Speaker 3: There's a lot of risk in pungyon surgery. Why would
- 21:19Speaker 3: you put yourself at that risk?
- 21:21Speaker 4: And you know afterwards they.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Say, thank you doctor, thank you for being so honest.
- 21:26Speaker 3: This is why I started this practice. I wanted to
- 21:29Speaker 3: protect this particular demographic so people would not take advantage
- 21:35Speaker 3: of them, and so that they would get, like I said,
- 21:38Speaker 3: the services and the results that they deserve.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I'm speaking to doctor Jinan the Raglin about feet and
- 21:45Speaker 1: then more importantly women, feet of females who are out
- 21:49Speaker 1: there trying to recover or trying to fix a problem
- 21:53Speaker 1: that they created. This all self inflicted at times, sometimes
- 21:56Speaker 1: it's not. But in this case, summer is coming, doctor Raglin.
- 22:00Speaker 1: What can women do to make sure they don't mess up?
- 22:05Speaker 1: Or what can they do to keep their feet beautiful?
- 22:09Speaker 4: Oh, you have to wear proper fitting shoes. So it
- 22:13Speaker 4: goes right back to you know, does it hurt.
- 22:18Speaker 3: If it hurts in the store, it's going to hurt
- 22:20Speaker 3: outside the store.
- 22:21Speaker 2: So can you say that one more time? Can you
- 22:24Speaker 2: say that?
- 22:26Speaker 4: You heard me?
- 22:27Speaker 3: If it hurts in the snow, it's going to hurt
- 22:30Speaker 3: outside the Still, that's what's going to happen.
- 22:33Speaker 4: So they'll play around with it.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Now. I would advise every woman, and this is gonna
- 22:41Speaker 3: you know, future, in the future, I'm going to create
- 22:45Speaker 3: a pair of shoe stretchers. But every woman should have
- 22:50Speaker 3: their own pair of shoe stretchers at home.
- 22:54Speaker 4: And that's because this way you don't have to go
- 22:58Speaker 4: to the shoe store.
- 22:59Speaker 3: You know, as soon as you get it, you shouldn't
- 23:02Speaker 3: be breaking in the shoe. Your foot should not be
- 23:04Speaker 3: breaking in the shoe. Allow the shoe stretcher to.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Do that job.
- 23:09Speaker 4: You can put you can get your you know.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Those nice beautiful Italian or French design shoes, you can
- 23:16Speaker 3: put them in the shoe stretcher. Let them sit in
- 23:18Speaker 3: there for a week or so and now they're broken in.
- 23:21Speaker 4: It's like somebody's been walking in.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Them straight for two, you know, two weeks straight, and
- 23:26Speaker 3: now they're broken in. So, like I said, the shoe
- 23:31Speaker 3: has to be comfortable. That's the that's the most important thing.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Keeping your feet clean and dry, keeping inspecting it daily,
- 23:43Speaker 3: making sure that you moisturize your foot daily, exfoliating all
- 23:50Speaker 3: the all the hard skin gently exfoliating.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Question here, doctor Raglan, because I you know, I've seen
- 23:59Speaker 1: women with band aids on the back of the heel
- 24:02Speaker 1: on their toes. Okay, these these are these are warning
- 24:07Speaker 1: signs that this is a bad shoe.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Correct.
- 24:11Speaker 3: I think that these are warning size and signs that
- 24:13Speaker 3: it's an ill fitting shoe. So a lot of times
- 24:17Speaker 3: if you have those band aids, or if you have
- 24:20Speaker 3: something that's in the back, it's probably because the shoe
- 24:24Speaker 3: does not fit you properly. It's if you have to
- 24:27Speaker 3: put a pad in the back, the shoe is too big.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Your put a slide fighting forward and the shoe is
- 24:33Speaker 3: too big, and that's why you're getting the friction on
- 24:36Speaker 3: the on on the back of your heel. Or some
- 24:40Speaker 3: ladies have something called the pump bump, and that could
- 24:44Speaker 3: be a reason why. Now, if you able to pump bump,
- 24:46Speaker 3: you might want to put something there that stops that
- 24:49Speaker 3: friction from happening.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Something called mole skin.
- 24:53Speaker 3: You can get that from any drug store and that
- 24:55Speaker 3: will stop the friction there. And and that that's something
- 24:59Speaker 3: you know, that's.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Just how your body has developed. But if you don't
- 25:04Speaker 4: have a pump bump on.
- 25:05Speaker 3: The back of your heel and that foot that shoe
- 25:08Speaker 3: is fighting off, you shouldn't have purchased the shoe in
- 25:11Speaker 3: the first place. Sometimes we just want the shoes so
- 25:13Speaker 3: bad and we just buy the size up or the
- 25:15Speaker 3: size down, and.
- 25:17Speaker 4: It's not worth it.
- 25:18Speaker 1: And that's you know, I can't you know, as a witness,
- 25:22Speaker 1: as I'm testifying right now, I'm testifying that she's telling
- 25:26Speaker 1: you the truth from a male perspective.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I did everything that she's saying incorrectly.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I wore the tight shoes. I wore the shoe you know,
- 25:36Speaker 1: my shoe, you know, the teenageer. I wear size twelve,
- 25:39Speaker 1: but I was wearing the size nine. I wore sized ten.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I worresized level and that was worth When I was
- 25:43Speaker 1: in eleven, I was wearing the size, you know, if
- 25:45Speaker 1: it was ten and a half, Okay, I slided my
- 25:47Speaker 1: foot in there, you know, and I did that.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I let my foot stretch out the shoe.
- 25:52Speaker 1: You expanded, you know, as I got older, then I
- 25:56Speaker 1: half shoe horns and I put them in there and
- 25:58Speaker 1: I stretch them out, and I was let them you know.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I tell you used the word marinate in that shoe.
- 26:03Speaker 1: To get it right for my foot so my foot
- 26:06Speaker 1: won't be screaming. And so now I live a comfortable
- 26:10Speaker 1: life with my feet. But my feet have paid the price.
- 26:14Speaker 1: And what you're trying to say to all the callers
- 26:16Speaker 1: who are all the people who have listening to this show,
- 26:20Speaker 1: is that do not get to Rushan's stage of life.
- 26:23Speaker 2: You know, well do not. You know, it's not worth
- 26:27Speaker 2: is not worth. I have a life of regrets age.
- 26:31Speaker 3: And the thing is, in this day and age, we
- 26:34Speaker 3: have the internet, so you can literally scour the internet
- 26:38Speaker 3: to find your size if need be. So we didn't
- 26:42Speaker 3: have that back in our day, Rashwan, we didn't have that.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I'm just to let you know, you know, a certain
- 26:49Speaker 1: brand of shoe and I saw this shoe the other day.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I'm going to just let you know this, I almost
- 26:55Speaker 1: drifted back into old Rashan. I went our size twelve,
- 26:59Speaker 1: and it went to do it went up to size eleven.
- 27:02Speaker 2: I went, oh, that shoe looks so good. But I
- 27:06Speaker 2: always remember that.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Okay, Rashan, You're too old and too smart to get
- 27:10Speaker 1: stupid again. And now, because I was almost about to
- 27:14Speaker 1: fall into the old weld again, I'm sizing down on
- 27:17Speaker 1: a big foot, sizing down on the big foot.
- 27:20Speaker 3: I want the listeners to all hear this, toow about
- 27:23Speaker 3: shoe sizes, ladies, all you ladies out there that like
- 27:26Speaker 3: your Italian, your European sizes, and those shoe salespeople tell
- 27:31Speaker 3: you a thirty.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Nine is a nine.
- 27:33Speaker 3: I'm telling you right now it's a lot. Thirty nine
- 27:37Speaker 3: is not a nine. A nine is a forty. Okay,
- 27:41Speaker 3: it's the next number up. Those people don't know what
- 27:44Speaker 3: they're talking about. I sold shoes.
- 27:46Speaker 4: I know what I'm talking about. Mm hmm okay, I
- 27:49Speaker 4: sold shoes. When we used to measure.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Your foot on the Brandic device, we sat down in
- 27:54Speaker 3: stools and we put the shoes on your foot. Not
- 27:57Speaker 3: these people that come and throw the boxes that you
- 27:59Speaker 3: run away. So I'm telling all of you when they
- 28:06Speaker 3: come and tell you what thirty eight is the eight
- 28:08Speaker 3: they are lions.
- 28:13Speaker 4: I just want all of them.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Yes, there are, so I'm in the same goes for
- 28:18Speaker 3: the men's shoes as well.
- 28:20Speaker 4: So all these people that.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Are telling you don't buy the shoe just because of
- 28:23Speaker 3: the size, by what fits, what feels right on your flip,
- 28:28Speaker 3: don't get caught up in the number. It's just the number.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Doctor Young Ragulin, I so appreciate you coming on
- 28:37Speaker 1: my show. Allow me to just, you know, tell the
- 28:41Speaker 1: truth about Rashwan and his feet, his magical feet, and
- 28:45Speaker 1: that's so magical. When I take the socks off, they're
- 28:47Speaker 1: rather terrifying. And I say that because of the fact
- 28:51Speaker 1: that I was stupid. I ignored the pain. I wore
- 28:55Speaker 1: shoes that were smaller than what they should have been.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Now I am happy with my life. Were quality issues
- 29:01Speaker 1: that allows me to gracefully walk the halls or gracefully
- 29:05Speaker 1: drive my car. But I didn't have to pay the
- 29:07Speaker 1: price about whatever. Just listened, that's all. And that's why
- 29:10Speaker 1: I invited you on the show, doctor Raglin, was to
- 29:12Speaker 1: just let people know you.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Are not You are not a month.
- 29:15Speaker 3: So yes, first of all, I just want to I
