- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know y'all back all, suit all looking back to
- 0:12Speaker 1: back down, giving them like theming buck things and its
- 0:19Speaker 1: not true. Good Steve har to mother for stunt joy.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You gotta use that turn. You gotta turn to turn
- 1:41Speaker 1: them out. Turn't got the turnout the turn the water
- 1:47Speaker 1: the water. Come come on your back, hu, I show
- 2:02Speaker 1: well a good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Come on dig me now one it only Steve Harvey
- 2:10Speaker 1: got a radio show. You know this week I've just
- 2:13Speaker 1: been on it, so today is no different. I'm telling you,
- 2:17Speaker 1: I've just reinvigorated myself. I'm more determined to share the
- 2:22Speaker 1: principles of success. I'm more determined to help and guide
- 2:28Speaker 1: and teach as many people as I can the things
- 2:31Speaker 1: that I've learned. And I mean, man, I've been through it.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I have really been through it. I kid you not.
- 2:36Speaker 1: You know. I used to say, Okay, God, you know,
- 2:39Speaker 1: why is all this happening to me? But as I've
- 2:41Speaker 1: gotten older, I understand that was the ingredients. I needed
- 2:46Speaker 1: the ingredients to beat this cake. I needed all those
- 2:50Speaker 1: ingredients stirred up. I need all of that different flavors,
- 2:54Speaker 1: the stuff that I didn't think tastes so good. All
- 2:56Speaker 1: that stuff had to come into the bowl in order
- 2:59Speaker 1: for me to get to where I am today. As
- 3:02Speaker 1: much as I did not like the taste of the ingredients,
- 3:07Speaker 1: little did I know God was making this cake, not me.
- 3:10Speaker 1: But what he did was and you've heard you the
- 3:13Speaker 1: old saying God could turn lemons into lemonade, Well that's
- 3:18Speaker 1: what he was doing now. At the time, it all
- 3:22Speaker 1: had a little funky lemonade lemony flavor to it, with
- 3:27Speaker 1: some other stuff in it too. I didn't care for it.
- 3:30Speaker 1: But little did I know that I needed everything that
- 3:33Speaker 1: happened to me to happen to me in the exact
- 3:35Speaker 1: order that had happened, in the exact array of things
- 3:39Speaker 1: that happened, for me to have a knowledge I have today,
- 3:42Speaker 1: the experience, the attitude, so I could turn around and
- 3:48Speaker 1: share that information. Okay, got that out the way. This
- 3:52Speaker 1: is what I want to give to you today. I
- 3:55Speaker 1: want you to understand something that discipline determines your destiny,
- 4:01Speaker 1: not your desire. Discipline determine your destiny, not your desire.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You've heard me say this how many times on the
- 4:10Speaker 1: show Okay, here we go against it. I got it.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Faith with our works is dead. But let me tell
- 4:18Speaker 1: you something. To be a hard worker, you got to
- 4:20Speaker 1: be disciplined. That's one of the hardest lessons I'm trying
- 4:23Speaker 1: to get through to my sons. You've gonna throw yourself
- 4:26Speaker 1: down a cliff if you're not a young man or
- 4:29Speaker 1: a man that possesses discipline. Because they got something for
- 4:33Speaker 1: undisciplined people. They got some street laws for undisciplined people,
- 4:38Speaker 1: and they got some federal laws and state laws for
- 4:42Speaker 1: undisciplined people. That's why them signs is outside on the freeway,
- 4:46Speaker 1: We're gonna let you go fast. But seventy is the limit.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Seventy fast enough. Really, if you're disciplined enough of a
- 4:54Speaker 1: person to leave your house at the time you're supposed
- 4:57Speaker 1: to leave your house, seventy miles per hour is absolutely enough.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But if you're an undisciplined person, if you don't have
- 5:04Speaker 1: the wherewithal to leave your house on time, to get
- 5:08Speaker 1: ready to go where you want to go, see the
- 5:11Speaker 1: desires where you want to go, the discipline is how
- 5:14Speaker 1: you get there. You understand you can wanna go to
- 5:18Speaker 1: see your family in California, all you want, But the
- 5:22Speaker 1: flight leaves at one eighteen. You leave your house at
- 5:26Speaker 1: twelve thirty. They told you you must check in one
- 5:31Speaker 1: hour before your flight. Now, if you ain't got the
- 5:34Speaker 1: discipline to get to the airport to check in one
- 5:37Speaker 1: hour before your flight, leaving your house forty five minutes
- 5:40Speaker 1: before the flight departs, what you think gonna happen? Your
- 5:44Speaker 1: desire to go see your family in la is going
- 5:48Speaker 1: to be thwarted because you lack the discipline to prepare
- 5:52Speaker 1: yourself and get yourself ready to do the things that
- 5:56Speaker 1: you have to do to make your desires come true.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I'm telling you discipline determines your destiny, not your desire.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You can write down a list of stuff you want
- 6:06Speaker 1: to do all day, but if you don't produce and
- 6:08Speaker 1: show the discipline necessary to get there, what you think
- 6:12Speaker 1: gonna happen? Huh? Okay? I want to be rich, Okay,
- 6:19Speaker 1: I want to make four hundred thousand in a year. Okay,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I want to be the best player that there is. Okay,
- 6:27Speaker 1: but you don't want to practice. See the cat that's
- 6:30Speaker 1: disciplined enough to show up at practice the shooting jumpers
- 6:33Speaker 1: when everybody going home, that's the guy that's gonna be
- 6:36Speaker 1: the best. The guy that's never late for practice, the
- 6:39Speaker 1: guy to study the playbook. That's the guy that's gonna
- 6:42Speaker 1: make it, not the guy that's talking crack I stalking
- 6:45Speaker 1: that smack. I'm gonna make the Pro Bowl, I'm gonna
- 6:48Speaker 1: make the All Star Team, I'm gonna be All American.
- 6:50Speaker 1: That's just what you're saying. But discipline determines your destiny,
- 6:56Speaker 1: not your desire. So now let's talk about this discipline.
- 7:00Speaker 1: What is that, really, Steve. That's your work ethic, that's
- 7:03Speaker 1: your hunger, that's your will. Discipline is how hard you're
- 7:08Speaker 1: willing to demonstrate the attributes and the traits to be
- 7:16Speaker 1: what you want to be. Did you hear me? It
- 7:19Speaker 1: is your willingness to conduct yourself in a manner that
- 7:24Speaker 1: is above and beyond what they say is necessary. Now,
- 7:28Speaker 1: this is a good example right here. Now. You can
- 7:31Speaker 1: want to be in the NFL all you want, but
- 7:34Speaker 1: they got this thing called the NFL Combines where they
- 7:37Speaker 1: bring in some of the top players at every position
- 7:41Speaker 1: to come in and they're gonna run a forty yard dash,
- 7:44Speaker 1: they're gonna do a standing broad jump, they're gonna do
- 7:47Speaker 1: a standing vertical leap. They're gonna do drills, running drills,
- 7:54Speaker 1: cutting drills. They can determine if a linebacker got stiff
- 7:58Speaker 1: hips by making them back pedal, point him in one
- 8:01Speaker 1: direction and throw the football in another direction. How does
- 8:04Speaker 1: he turn his body? Now you can say you can
- 8:06Speaker 1: tell everybody at your college you want to play pro football.
- 8:09Speaker 1: You tell everybody at your high school. You tell them
- 8:11Speaker 1: in Peewee you want to play pro football. But they
- 8:13Speaker 1: got tests for you though. It's called the combines. Now
- 8:17Speaker 1: you get out here and you have a bad combine day,
- 8:19Speaker 1: Ain't nobody trying to hear that. Let me tell you
- 8:22Speaker 1: how excuses don't work with people when they just trying
- 8:24Speaker 1: to get when they're trying to win in the NFL.
- 8:27Speaker 1: The fact that you had a bad day at the
- 8:29Speaker 1: combine and you don't run your best forties and you
- 8:33Speaker 1: keep telling them you could do better, they don't want
- 8:35Speaker 1: to hear that. Because see, what ain't nobody gonna pay
- 8:37Speaker 1: you for is to play on Sunday. And that's one
- 8:40Speaker 1: of your bad days. We're paying you to play on Sundays.
- 8:45Speaker 1: But because you keep having these bad days, because you
- 8:48Speaker 1: ain't discipline enough to put in the work to make
- 8:51Speaker 1: sure that your maximum can be called upon at any time.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Now you have to combine with some slow times that
- 8:58Speaker 1: go on your record. You have to combine. You don't
- 9:00Speaker 1: jump as high as you did when you was at
- 9:02Speaker 1: the gym class. Well, hold up, man, this is show
- 9:05Speaker 1: day now. In the NFL, Sunday is show day. What
- 9:09Speaker 1: they can't run the risk of is paying you your money.
- 9:12Speaker 1: And your bad day happened to be on Sundays after
- 9:15Speaker 1: we didn't cut your check. No, no, no, We're looking
- 9:18Speaker 1: for people who limit them bad days, who got the
- 9:21Speaker 1: discipline to work hard, to make an effort for it.
- 9:24Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying to your folks. Please understand this.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Discipline determines your destiny, not your desire. If you can
- 9:32Speaker 1: want it all you want, but if you ain't working,
- 9:36Speaker 1: if you ain't grinding, if you ain't hurting, if you
- 9:39Speaker 1: ain't sweating real bad, if you always somewhere, got to chill,
- 9:44Speaker 1: you got to have a cold one, you got to
- 9:47Speaker 1: smoke one, You gotta do all them. Things. Can't tell
- 9:49Speaker 1: you something you ain't gonna make it. Discipline determines your destiny,
- 9:55Speaker 1: not your desire. You're listening show, ladies and gentlemen, it
- 10:03Speaker 1: is here another day, another blessing, another guilt. That's why
- 10:08Speaker 1: they call it the present, because it's a guilt. We
- 10:12Speaker 1: are living in the present. This is a gift from
- 10:15Speaker 1: God and you made it. Congratulations to everybody. Good morning,
- 10:20Speaker 1: Shirley Strawberry calling for rel Mississippi Monica. That dog on
- 10:25Speaker 1: Junior kill Space and the legend nephew Tommy. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:32Speaker 1: all right, Junior, what's on your mind? Let me ask
- 10:35Speaker 1: you something up. You know, I saw you on just
- 10:38Speaker 1: Steve Man the other night and that Father's Son case.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Man had me hollerand boy, that Father's Son case wasn't
- 10:46Speaker 1: some days you don't want to be a parent? What
- 10:48Speaker 1: a lot of days. It's a lot of I don't
- 10:51Speaker 1: want to be one now. Yeah, I don't want to
- 10:55Speaker 1: be one now. And you know what I thought. I
- 10:58Speaker 1: thought after they got to a certain age that you
- 11:01Speaker 1: would have to pair it less. You do have to
- 11:04Speaker 1: pair it less. But the situations are far more critical disturbing.
- 11:13Speaker 1: That's a disturbing thing about it. It's when they do
- 11:16Speaker 1: ask you for something you'd been going whoah, you know,
- 11:23Speaker 1: oh they coming, ain't know? Can I use the car?
- 11:26Speaker 1: You know? You know, I mean, it'd be real life situations,
- 11:30Speaker 1: and it's always something that I told them what happened.
- 11:37Speaker 1: On a serious note, I made some mistakes as parenting,
- 11:40Speaker 1: but you know, parenting don't come with a manual. I
- 11:43Speaker 1: made mistakes as a parent, but for the most part
- 11:46Speaker 1: I had to stop and really give myself some credit.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And I want all parents to do this. Give yourself
- 11:53Speaker 1: a break, give yourself some flady, because you did fine.
- 11:58Speaker 1: You did just fine. What they did was went off
- 12:02Speaker 1: and got themselves in some adult situations and made some
- 12:06Speaker 1: adult decisions out on childlike behavior and childlike experience, and
- 12:11Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, it's reflection on you as
- 12:14Speaker 1: a parent. No it's not. No, really it's not. And
- 12:19Speaker 1: take yourself off the guiltless. You did the best you
- 12:24Speaker 1: could do it with what you could do. Bishi talking
- 12:29Speaker 1: the other day about being a father, he said, being
- 12:33Speaker 1: a father man is hard. You can never get it
- 12:37Speaker 1: one hundred. If you're the breadwinner of the family, if
- 12:42Speaker 1: you're always home, that's not a good sign. But then
- 12:46Speaker 1: if you're gone to make the money, then you can't
- 12:50Speaker 1: be there. And if you're there, you ain't making the
- 12:52Speaker 1: money to take care of everybody. So what do you do?
- 12:55Speaker 1: And a lot of times women get put in those
- 12:57Speaker 1: same positions because they're single women's, single mothers, and then
- 13:02Speaker 1: they got to go off and make money and do decision.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Now you a little lockkey kid. Now you mad because
- 13:07Speaker 1: your mama wasn't there for you when you was a child.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Well she was working, your ignorant ass and went off
- 13:12Speaker 1: of me some stupid ass decision. Now you should up
- 13:14Speaker 1: here talking about I ain't no good ass pad. How
- 13:16Speaker 1: about you was a ragged ass child. How about that
- 13:21Speaker 1: we don't start putting Blarry every long? You was a
- 13:24Speaker 1: ragged ass shot. Thank you, Julia, go ahead, wrong, that's
- 13:30Speaker 1: gonna feel better now, Steve, thank you because that was
- 13:34Speaker 1: years Coming up. In thirty two minutes after the hour,
- 13:39Speaker 1: we're gonna start the show off with nephew Tommy's run
- 13:42Speaker 1: that frank back. Right after this, you're listening Steve Harvey
- 13:46Speaker 1: Morning Show. Well, to start your morning off, here's the
- 13:49Speaker 1: nephew with run that frank back. What you got now?

- 15:05Speaker 1: background so you can kind of tell me what kind
- 15:06Speaker 1: of person her good points, a bad qualities the whole night.
- 15:10Speaker 1: It might save me sometime from being in a long
- 15:12Speaker 1: relationship if I know what to look for. What was good?
- 15:15Speaker 1: Man say? Say? Home boy, oh boy? I know, I
- 15:19Speaker 1: know I'm not listening to this. I was mad for
- 15:22Speaker 1: all ye ain't nobody to give me no refer So
- 15:25Speaker 1: don't call me asking for no like that. If you
- 15:29Speaker 1: got number for Monica, you and Monica need to forget
- 15:32Speaker 1: my okay for holda hola bro Like I say, Man,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I'm just trying to figure out hold up, I'm trying
- 15:38Speaker 1: to figure out the good qualities and bad quhit like
- 15:40Speaker 1: you know, do she want to cook? You know? Is
- 15:42Speaker 1: she good in the big room? You know what I'm saying.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I'm trying to know. I'm trying to just know what
- 15:47Speaker 1: to look for. Dogs a man, I ain't trying to
- 15:49Speaker 1: come any man looking. Oh but I just can't believe
- 15:52Speaker 1: calling another about some I don't have a no more.
- 15:56Speaker 1: The only thing I have to deal with it is
- 15:58Speaker 1: my child. You know what I'm saying. And you most
- 16:01Speaker 1: definitely don't need to be a robber out. Say, dude,
- 16:04Speaker 1: I got to go okay, okay, okay, but can you
- 16:06Speaker 1: give me a good reference owner? That's all I'm trying
- 16:08Speaker 1: to get out. The references don't die number ever again.
- 16:14Speaker 1: And when I talked to Monica being heard, But hey,
- 16:17Speaker 1: you ain't gonna have to worry bout the relationship with Monaca.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Okay, Okay, hold on, man,
- 16:22Speaker 1: let me gonna break this to you. First of all,
- 16:24Speaker 1: me and Monica then dated for the lands year, off
- 16:27Speaker 1: and on we just finn get hold on, Hold up, dude,

- 16:57Speaker 1: just right here, man, Hey, doc, can you just give
- 16:59Speaker 1: her brothers from references? Man? Somebody can look out for
- 17:02Speaker 1: some signs that sp reference I'm gonna give you is

- 17:19Speaker 1: Or you pull up your finger account, ain't no money
- 17:22Speaker 1: or that that's the reference SHO needs. Ain't So I
- 17:25Speaker 1: need to hear from jop especially if you who was

- 21:35Speaker 1: Steve Harvey in the building with your love questions. For
- 21:39Speaker 1: your love questions. Ronda in Denver Rights. My parents have
- 21:43Speaker 1: been married for twenty seven years and my father moved
- 21:46Speaker 1: out of the house before Christmas. He and my mom
- 21:49Speaker 1: had a big argument and he wants to call it quits.
- 21:52Speaker 1: They've argued all of my life, so I can't imagine
- 21:55Speaker 1: why he wants to leave now. My mother is expecting
- 21:58Speaker 1: a miracle, but he is dead. It's set against going back.
- 22:02Speaker 1: How do I break it to her nicely that her
- 22:04Speaker 1: marriage is over? M he didn't he'd moved out. Well
- 22:10Speaker 1: what do you? What do you? Why are you breaking
- 22:12Speaker 1: it to her nicely? Listen to what you said. Your
- 22:16Speaker 1: mother is praying for a miracle. Well, listen to me.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Once you start praying for a miracle, you already know
- 22:29Speaker 1: that the situation you're in is dismal. Wasn't you would
- 22:35Speaker 1: once you looking for a miracle. So your mama, No,
- 22:39Speaker 1: you ain't gonna break this to her. He'd have moved
- 22:42Speaker 1: out for Christmas. Here what skip mistle told jingle bells? Eggnog? Fruitcake?
- 22:49Speaker 1: Damn that fruitcake. I don't want your package. I don't
- 22:52Speaker 1: want nothing. Don't nobody like fruitcake? Don't I don't. I
- 22:56Speaker 1: don't know nobody like fruitcake. What is in green things?
- 22:58Speaker 1: Ain't put is that green stuff to be in it?
- 23:03Speaker 1: Who has this fruitcake in this can? Put this back
- 23:07Speaker 1: in this can? And Chris setting it out on the table.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I ain't never seen nobody cut the fruit cake anyway.
- 23:12Speaker 1: He didn't want none of that nothing so done. He
- 23:16Speaker 1: don't want your gift. He moved out folk Christmas. When
- 23:21Speaker 1: a man moved out for Christmas, he to move into
- 23:23Speaker 1: a place. He ain't got no tree, he ain't got
- 23:25Speaker 1: no lights up. All he wanted to do was have peace.
- 23:31Speaker 1: You ain't got to break nothing to your mama. She
- 23:33Speaker 1: no here here, your mama, Jesus will be back for
- 23:40Speaker 1: him Yeah, that's probably what happened. All right, that's probably
- 23:47Speaker 1: probably true statement. Moving on to Anonymous in Philly, Anonymous writes,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'm in a long distance relationship with my girl, uh
- 23:56Speaker 1: and my girl visits me often besides because she flies free.
- 24:00Speaker 1: She popped up on me this past weekend and I
- 24:03Speaker 1: wasn't home. She didn't call me or say a word,
- 24:06Speaker 1: but she was sitting in my bed when I got
- 24:08Speaker 1: home the next morning. M I told her I passed
- 24:13Speaker 1: out drunk at my friend's house, but I had on
- 24:17Speaker 1: shorts and flip flops and it was snowing here. She's
- 24:21Speaker 1: not trying to hear my excuses. How do I get
- 24:24Speaker 1: out of this? One? Interesting? Hey, dog, let me ask
- 24:28Speaker 1: you a question. When you came in the house at
- 24:32Speaker 1: seven am with them shots and them flip flops snow,
- 24:40Speaker 1: well was you coming from? All I could say is now,
- 24:46Speaker 1: when you said you passed out at a friend's house,
- 24:50Speaker 1: do you live in an apartments downstairs? Upstairs? Where was
- 24:57Speaker 1: you at with these shouts and me flip flops? O?
- 25:01Speaker 1: Because that sounded like walking us one. Well, hear what
- 25:09Speaker 1: you do? Come on, I want to hear it. When
- 25:12Speaker 1: you get in a situation like this dog. Listen to me.
- 25:15Speaker 1: The best defense is a good offense. Yeah, bigger question
- 25:22Speaker 1: has to be why is you in here in my
- 25:25Speaker 1: bed at seven eight? This thing? And you guys to
- 25:30Speaker 1: make that the issue, Like, give us some example. He
- 25:35Speaker 1: wrote to you like right now, this is a days later.
- 25:38Speaker 1: So what you gotta do is this right here? And
- 25:40Speaker 1: you know what, I've been thinking about this, and you
- 25:43Speaker 1: know what for a person to constantly disrespect my wishes
- 25:49Speaker 1: and just pop in on me without telling me, I
- 25:51Speaker 1: just that that ain't what I'm really looking for because
- 25:55Speaker 1: it just makes me think that there's some trust is
- 25:58Speaker 1: trust issues that you have it and the fact that
- 26:02Speaker 1: I can't come and go freely without having to feel
- 26:05Speaker 1: like I'm constantly being checked. That's really not the type
- 26:08Speaker 1: of relationship I would look at. So I want to
- 26:10Speaker 1: just step back from this for a little bit. Come
- 26:13Speaker 1: on board and let you decide do it? You know
- 26:16Speaker 1: how you want to move forward in our relationship in
- 26:19Speaker 1: terms of trust, because I trust you. You come into
- 26:23Speaker 1: my place and I trust you. But this type of
- 26:26Speaker 1: thing right here just breaks of distrust for me and
- 26:30Speaker 1: I've done nothing, nothing to deserve this type Come on trust? Well, yeah,
- 26:36Speaker 1: didn't write the right person, come on close, make me proud. No,
- 26:45Speaker 1: that's I'm sorry, Automatic, I'm so sorry. That's because I
- 26:59Speaker 1: trust you surprised me, and now all of a sudden,
- 27:05Speaker 1: it's a lack of trust on a person that I've
- 27:08Speaker 1: showed the ultimate display of trust then by giving you
- 27:11Speaker 1: a key. Now you popping up without saying, that's unbelievable
- 27:15Speaker 1: to me. I can't. I just can't see myself you
- 27:17Speaker 1: disgusted it. How do you walk out the rule you
- 27:20Speaker 1: broke up with? Or didn't you walk out my eyes? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, emotions.
- 27:33Speaker 1: You got to have a whole hand on your face.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Got to walk off all right? Okay, well, anonymous, you
- 27:41Speaker 1: wrote to the right person, Take that and run with it,
- 27:45Speaker 1: all right? Moving on to Knetra in Charlotte. Knetra right time.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Thirty years old and I've been in an open relationship
- 27:52Speaker 1: for most of my adult life. My boyfriend and I
- 27:55Speaker 1: do not live together, so it's fine if I have
- 27:57Speaker 1: company or if he has friends over. It gets awkward though,
- 28:00Speaker 1: if I have company and he wants to stick around
- 28:02Speaker 1: and watch us being intimate. I never do that to him,
- 28:06Speaker 1: So why is he being like this all of a sudden?
- 28:08Speaker 1: Is this jealousy or what? What do you care? Y'all
- 28:14Speaker 1: ain't gotten nothing. He don't want you. You in an
- 28:19Speaker 1: open relationship. You just didn't know it was wide open.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Ye don't, I don't. Yeah, you get you're in an
- 28:29Speaker 1: open relationship. He wants to stick around and watch. Y'all.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Ain't gotten nothing. Why is he liked this all of
- 28:35Speaker 1: a sudden? Why is he like? What? What do you have?
- 28:38Speaker 1: You have no barriers in your relationship. You have no rules, y'all,
- 28:42Speaker 1: just two people that see each other and can go
- 28:44Speaker 1: see who you want to see. What do you have? Why?
- 28:48Speaker 1: Why is he like this? That's what you like? You
- 28:54Speaker 1: like open relationships? Well, let's open it all the way.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Let's get this thing open. What open? Open? Open? Coming
- 29:13Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour, Thank you, clo.
- 29:16Speaker 1: We'll have some entertainment news right after this. You're listening
- 29:20Speaker 1: to show. Okay, So, no matter how much a father
- 29:27Speaker 1: likes his daughter's boyfriend, he doesn't want to see his
- 29:30Speaker 1: baby girl engaging in PDA with him. He just doesn't.
- 29:36Speaker 1: And of course, Steve, you are no exception to this rule.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Your daughter. This is about you, Yeah, your daughters five
- 29:45Speaker 1: PA public display of effect. I thought about bowling you thought.
- 29:52Speaker 1: I thought it was what your daughter Laurie is currently dating,
- 30:04Speaker 1: Michael B. Jordan, the actor. Uh so doing an During
- 30:09Speaker 1: an appearance on The Ellen de Generous Show, you were
- 30:12Speaker 1: showing a photo of her sitting on Michael B. Jordan's lap.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Think a listen, look at that that's happening in front
- 30:20Speaker 1: of you. I've never seen that picture before. Very uncomfortable
- 30:33Speaker 1: with that picture right now, really feeling that picture. Oh
- 30:41Speaker 1: the wedding, got the picture phone, but when she put
- 30:44Speaker 1: it up on that big screen, I was mortified. She
- 30:47Speaker 1: was sitting on his Lapful, What did you got your
- 30:50Speaker 1: hand on her? Faftful? Get your ass off my damn daughter. Steve,
- 30:57Speaker 1: you also said you do like Michael bach Jordan because
- 31:01Speaker 1: he's a good gift giver. Take a listen. So he
- 31:04Speaker 1: bought me this big one hundred cigar box of the
- 31:10Speaker 1: most most hard to get cigars, one hundred of them
- 31:14Speaker 1: in this big box, and gay that to me. He
- 31:17Speaker 1: gave my wife some skis? Who do that? Only way
- 31:21Speaker 1: you give your potential mother in law some skis? It's
- 31:24Speaker 1: because you want her to be your mother in law. Yeah, yeah, course, yeah, glory,
- 31:36Speaker 1: But you meant yourself. You met you and Marjorie. Oh,
- 31:39Speaker 1: you gotta get good gifts. Yeah, and I'm pulling for
- 31:46Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, Like he got good family, his father. Oh,
- 31:50Speaker 1: we know the same people in that you got. He
- 31:52Speaker 1: got good family. Man. He's good dude. He's really a
- 31:55Speaker 1: cool dude, really is you know, on the Ellen Show,
- 31:59Speaker 1: you know, I still hum. I don't know that yet.
- 32:04Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I got to wait and see.
- 32:06Speaker 1: That's up to her. You know, it's up to her
- 32:08Speaker 1: and him. I hope they make it. If they don't,
- 32:09Speaker 1: you know, I'm just sh Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 32:18Speaker 1: But like I said on the show, you know, I
- 32:20Speaker 1: didn't told him. I didn't threaten him. I really I
- 32:22Speaker 1: don't really see myself being able to Oh, everybody getting
- 32:28Speaker 1: back everybody, everybody I threatened everybody. Look, you can break
- 32:36Speaker 1: up with him. You can stop speaking to all my daughters.
- 32:39Speaker 1: You can quit speaking to them, you can stop texting,
- 32:41Speaker 1: you can leave them, you can walk out on them,
- 32:43Speaker 1: you can do you can do everything, but you can't
- 32:44Speaker 1: put your hand on them. If you put your hand
- 32:46Speaker 1: on them, I just got news for you. There's no
- 32:48Speaker 1: where you can go. But I had to talk with him.
- 32:51Speaker 1: But it wasn't really necessary. He from that cut. But
- 32:53Speaker 1: you know, like I still got my own him. But
- 32:55Speaker 1: you know, I can't whoop it. I know already know that.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I don't see all the Creed movies. Yeah I saw
- 33:04Speaker 1: the Creed movie. That's good enough for me. I can't. Yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 1: I know, but I can't even I can't even act
- 33:12Speaker 1: that way, no more so. But I'm clear about it though.
- 33:15Speaker 1: If you turn your back, though, I'm gonna knock your ass.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Ain't no doubt, Ain't no doubt. I'm gonna get you.
- 33:24Speaker 1: You in shape, but your eyeball, your eyeball is not
- 33:28Speaker 1: that in shape. Your eyeball anyway, We're moving on and
- 33:36Speaker 1: other entertainment news, Tyler Perry is bringing Medea back from retirement.
- 33:40Speaker 1: He dropped the news with the hilarious promo poster resembling
- 33:44Speaker 1: Beyonce's homecoming Netflix special Homegoing, Uh, I want to think
- 33:50Speaker 1: my Incredible moth I Mitchella Netflix coming soon. Tyler decided
- 34:00Speaker 1: to revive the character of media to give fans a
- 34:02Speaker 1: good laugh during these crazy times. He says, I was
- 34:05Speaker 1: looking at the state of the world and how polarized
- 34:07Speaker 1: it is. Nobody's laughing, he said, and I'm like, what
- 34:10Speaker 1: tool do I have in my arsenal that can bring
- 34:13Speaker 1: that kind of laughter? So there you go. So he's
- 34:16Speaker 1: bringing media back, and I think it will. I think
- 34:18Speaker 1: he's right. That would go give everyone a laugh, a
- 34:20Speaker 1: good laugh, good belly laugh. The mop Hive, the mom
- 34:25Speaker 1: I've love homegoing though. Yeah. Also, finally, some sad news
- 34:35Speaker 1: from the fashion world, seventy three year old Andre Leon
- 34:38Speaker 1: Tally has passed away. Mister Tallely was a towering figure,
- 34:42Speaker 1: both literally and figuratively in the world of fashion. He
- 34:45Speaker 1: was six foot six. He was an icon that wrote
- 34:48Speaker 1: about fashion. Served as Vogues news editor, creative director, and
- 34:52Speaker 1: editor at large. Andrea was instrumental in getting more models
- 34:56Speaker 1: and fashion designers of color on the runway and in
- 35:00Speaker 1: the magazines. At one point, he even served as a
- 35:03Speaker 1: stylist for President and First Lady Michelle Obama. UH, President
- 35:08Speaker 1: Barack Obama. Our deepest condolence is going out to the
- 35:11Speaker 1: Tally family. You knew him too. I met him. Once
- 35:17Speaker 1: I met him, was made him at Neiman Marcus. Had
- 35:20Speaker 1: a jewelry show. M h and heck of a nice guy,
- 35:29Speaker 1: very nice. He night. He complimented me on what I
- 35:31Speaker 1: had on which that's all I cared about, right, dude, Yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 1: that was that. I felt terrific man after that. Yeah,
- 35:44Speaker 1: so I allowed him met him was yeah. Yeah. Rest
- 35:48Speaker 1: in peace. Andre Leon tally Well. Coming up at twenty
- 35:51Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, a special treat for our audience.
- 35:55Speaker 1: We love this woman. CNN's Laura Coats will be our
- 35:58Speaker 1: very special guest. She's going to tell us about her
- 36:00Speaker 1: brand new book. It's called just Pursuit, A Black Prosecutors
- 36:04Speaker 1: Fight for Fairness. Right after this. You're listening, l right, everybody,
- 36:10Speaker 1: our special guests this morning is a CNN senior legal analysts.
- 36:15Speaker 1: She's also a serious XM host and she was She
- 36:20Speaker 1: is a professor at George Washington University School of Law.
- 36:25Speaker 1: She's a former federal prosecutor and a civil rights attorney.
- 36:28Speaker 1: And to add to her Stella resume, she's also an
- 36:32Speaker 1: author and she's got a new book out and it's
- 36:34Speaker 1: called Jess Pursuit, A Black Prosecutors Fight for Fairness. We've
- 36:39Speaker 1: invited her to the show to talk to us about
- 36:42Speaker 1: this book called Jess Pursuit. Please welcome to the show
- 36:45Speaker 1: for the first time. One of the most respected legal
- 36:48Speaker 1: analysts of our time on CNN. Please welcome for the
- 36:52Speaker 1: first time, Miss Laura Coates. Welcome, welcood morning, Welcome, good morning.
- 36:57Speaker 1: I'm so happy to be with you all. How are you, Laura,
- 37:02Speaker 1: Welcome to the show. First time for you. We've been waiting. Well,
- 37:07Speaker 1: I am so happy to be here, and I am
- 37:09Speaker 1: so glad you called and so excited. I put a
- 37:12Speaker 1: big fan of the show. I listen all the time.
- 37:14Speaker 1: So it's for you to hear myself now on this
- 37:17Speaker 1: program because I'm so giddy inside and I'm going to
- 37:19Speaker 1: try not to fan girl and be respectable. Lad. Hey,
- 37:27Speaker 1: well listen, Laura. We got a new book out, and
- 37:30Speaker 1: you wrote a book. It's called Just Pursuit, and they're
- 37:33Speaker 1: describing it as an urgent, deeply personal, and groundbreaking account
- 37:38Speaker 1: of bias in the courtroom. Now and all this is
- 37:41Speaker 1: from your perspective as a black female federal prosecutor at
- 37:44Speaker 1: the US Department of Justice. So give us an overview
- 37:47Speaker 1: of the book. So you know, this is not the
- 37:49Speaker 1: kind of book I think people expect for lawyers to write.
- 37:52Speaker 1: They expect it to be something very stuffy, let me
- 37:54Speaker 1: be signed in a law school classroom. But I intentionally
- 37:58Speaker 1: made sure that it was a narrative memory are that
- 38:00Speaker 1: every chapter stands alone as its own separate episode for
- 38:04Speaker 1: people to really understand not only what the law is,
- 38:08Speaker 1: but what justice feels like, what justice really looks like,
- 38:13Speaker 1: the ways in which justice creates injustice at times. And
- 38:17Speaker 1: I take you through a journey of my own personal
- 38:19Speaker 1: battles of allegiance where you all know we don't have
- 38:22Speaker 1: the luxury of shedding any facet of our identity at
- 38:26Speaker 1: the door. I come in as a woman, a black woman,
- 38:29Speaker 1: a mother, a wife. I come in as a civil
- 38:32Speaker 1: rights advocate, and I'm immediately struck by the idea that
- 38:36Speaker 1: I have the lived experience as a black woman, and
- 38:39Speaker 1: yet the orders that I'm being given or the role
- 38:42Speaker 1: I must play within the system are at complete odds
- 38:45Speaker 1: in tension with what I am experiencing. And I walk
- 38:48Speaker 1: you through from anything in terms of having to aid
- 38:51Speaker 1: in the deportication to what mistaken identity really looks like
- 38:55Speaker 1: on the front end, to the idea of victim blaming
- 38:58Speaker 1: of sexual assault survivors, to what it's like to actually
- 39:03Speaker 1: investigate voting excrimination. There are moments of triumphs, there are
- 39:06Speaker 1: moments of tragedy. There are moments of connected CHISSI that
- 39:10Speaker 1: tells you, look, it's not a justice system. It's a
- 39:13Speaker 1: legal system, but perhaps you can get to the pursuit
- 39:16Speaker 1: of justice and actually catch it one day and I
- 39:19Speaker 1: write about all of it. Yes, and Laura, hang on,
- 39:22Speaker 1: when we come back, we're going to talk about some
- 39:24Speaker 1: of these very very interesting chapters in the book. Oh
- 39:27Speaker 1: my god, when we come back. We got Laura Coats
- 39:29Speaker 1: on the show. Everybody, We'll be right back, Steve Alving
- 39:32Speaker 1: Morning Show. You're listening, all right, everybody, we're back in
- 39:38Speaker 1: our special guests at CNN senior legal analysts. Uh. And
- 39:42Speaker 1: she's on CNN all the time now she I'll notice
- 39:46Speaker 1: that she stepped in and feel a set of shoes
- 39:49Speaker 1: over there. You see her every night, almost coming on
- 39:52Speaker 1: right behind Don Lemon, or in front of Don Lemon
- 39:55Speaker 1: sometimes but most of them mostly behind Don Lemon, I think.
- 39:58Speaker 1: And so we've been watching that. We're a fan of hers,
- 40:01Speaker 1: and she's a fan of the show. She's on here
- 40:03Speaker 1: today talking about her new book. It's called Just Pursuit.
- 40:06Speaker 1: And when I was going out on the break, she
- 40:09Speaker 1: has some chapters that you really don't expect to see
- 40:12Speaker 1: in a book from an attorney, and I'm gonna ask
- 40:16Speaker 1: her about these. Chapter one, please don't come. Chapter two,
- 40:20Speaker 1: want to see something funny. Chapter three, I want no
- 40:22Speaker 1: part of this. Chapter four, she needed me to believe her.
- 40:25Speaker 1: In chapter five, that's not me. Wow. I mean, this
- 40:30Speaker 1: doesn't sound like words from a lawyer, Laura, Well, I
- 40:33Speaker 1: hope they sound like words from a human being, because
- 40:36Speaker 1: we have to be in our justice system, and we
- 40:38Speaker 1: have to have the wherewithal to bring our whole selves
- 40:41Speaker 1: into it, and we have to think about the role
- 40:44Speaker 1: of black and brown people in our criminal justice system
- 40:47Speaker 1: as more than simply a defendant. We know there's no
- 40:50Speaker 1: monopoly on the commission of crime, and yet we see
- 40:54Speaker 1: the parade of human misery. We see the idea of
- 40:57Speaker 1: how disproportionately impacted black and brown community is in the
- 41:02Speaker 1: targeting and the policing and the prosecution. And so I
- 41:05Speaker 1: really wanted to peel back the curtain and personify the
- 41:09Speaker 1: issues we've been talking about all across the table. And
- 41:12Speaker 1: I'll begin with that first chapter because that was one
- 41:14Speaker 1: of the most difficult ones for me to write. I
- 41:16Speaker 1: felt so vulnerable. You see me on CNN talking about
- 41:19Speaker 1: the law, but rarely do you see how I feel
- 41:22Speaker 1: about the law and what it really means when you
- 41:25Speaker 1: are having your marching orders for justice. Here's what it
- 41:28Speaker 1: can look like. And sometimes, Steve and everyone, the pursuit
- 41:32Speaker 1: of justice creates injustice. And case in point here, I
- 41:37Speaker 1: was running a regular background check like we have to
- 41:39Speaker 1: do for anyone who's going to go into the courtroom,
- 41:42Speaker 1: whether it's a victim of a crime, obvious superdefendant, and
- 41:45Speaker 1: any witnesses you are going to call. My victim had
- 41:48Speaker 1: a deportation laurrant. It was decades old, he had been
- 41:52Speaker 1: in the country illegally, had raised his family, was an
- 41:56Speaker 1: a law abiding person who wanted to be a citizen
- 41:59Speaker 1: with tributing member. Hadn't go to sneeze at a police
- 42:02Speaker 1: officer in the time that he remained in the country,
- 42:05Speaker 1: And because the fact that he had a warrant, I
- 42:08Speaker 1: was required to essentially aid in his deportation or got
- 42:13Speaker 1: contact Ice and try to turn him in to let
- 42:16Speaker 1: them know that there was an active warrant. And I
- 42:18Speaker 1: can't tell you how conflicted I was in those moments
- 42:21Speaker 1: when my moral compass of what I knew was right
- 42:25Speaker 1: and wrong was in direct contrast with what I was
- 42:28Speaker 1: ordered and I think in our lives we have moments
- 42:31Speaker 1: where the things that we think we would do, the
- 42:34Speaker 1: moments that we think define us. Who you think you
- 42:37Speaker 1: will be when your back is against a wall will
- 42:41Speaker 1: shock you. And trying to reconcile your strive for civil
- 42:45Speaker 1: disobedience and realizing what injustice looks like. I write about
- 42:50Speaker 1: it because I don't spare myself in the criticism of
- 42:53Speaker 1: the justice system in America. Do you believe that the
- 42:57Speaker 1: criminal justice system can be and if so, what do
- 43:01Speaker 1: we start? Absolutely, And here's where we start by First,
- 43:04Speaker 1: if you want to speak truth to power, you first
- 43:07Speaker 1: have to know the truth. That's why I write throughout
- 43:10Speaker 1: the chapters about what it really looks like. We're talking
- 43:12Speaker 1: about mistaken identity, and what it really looks like when
- 43:16Speaker 1: you have prosecutorial discretion, and all the way up to
- 43:19Speaker 1: the judges, what sort of bias they bring in even
- 43:21Speaker 1: though they are cloaked in this black robe, they still
- 43:24Speaker 1: bring themselves bias and all with them. And I think
- 43:27Speaker 1: if we start to if we know it just speaks
- 43:29Speaker 1: truth to power. They have to know what the truth
- 43:32Speaker 1: is and then you can do more to reform it.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Justice is not a destination it's not a verdict, it's
- 43:38Speaker 1: not one case. It's recognizing the humanity, the role of redemption,
- 43:43Speaker 1: and also the role of bias and race in our
- 43:45Speaker 1: legal system. And once we peel back those curtains, once
- 43:49Speaker 1: we acknowledge it, we can actually be on the road
- 43:51Speaker 1: to reform and not just pursue justice, but maybe one
- 43:55Speaker 1: day catch it. Well, yes, that would be yes, that
- 44:00Speaker 1: will be great. Hey, listen to everybody, Steve Harvey Nation.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Here's a deal. The book is called Jess Pursuit. It's
- 44:07Speaker 1: out now by Lord coachs. Let's go out and get
- 44:09Speaker 1: your copy today. Lord coach me, thank you so much
- 44:12Speaker 1: for joining us. Don't be a stranger. Okay, I won't
- 44:14Speaker 1: thank you. I appreciate you all so much from the
- 44:17Speaker 1: bottom of my heart. Thank you, Lady Jim and Lord coach.
- 44:24Speaker 1: All right, and coming up next, it is the nephew
- 44:26Speaker 1: with the prank phone call for today. Right after this,
- 44:29Speaker 1: you're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up at the
- 44:35Speaker 1: top of the hour, right about four minutes after, it's
- 44:37Speaker 1: my Strawberry letter for today. The subject we did it
- 44:41Speaker 1: and he's trying to do me. We'll get into that
- 44:45Speaker 1: in just a bit, but right now. The nephew is
- 44:48Speaker 1: in the building with today's prank phone call. What you
- 44:50Speaker 1: got for us, Nev, Well, I think we're gonna do
- 44:53Speaker 1: a little praise dance in this moment. Oh yeah, the
- 44:57Speaker 1: praise da little praise dancing. Let's go, come on, kat. Hello,
- 45:06Speaker 1: this is the day that the Lord has made. Let
- 45:08Speaker 1: us rejoice and be glad in And how you doing?
- 45:09Speaker 1: I'm looking for uh Stania? This is Sitania, Satia. This
- 45:14Speaker 1: is Brother Fuller from the church. How are you? Oh,
- 45:17Speaker 1: I'm with brother, How are you? I'm good, I'm good. Um.
- 45:21Speaker 1: We wanted to give you a call about the about
- 45:23Speaker 1: the praise dancing that's at the church. First of all,
- 45:25Speaker 1: I wanted to really show you how much, uh you're
- 45:28Speaker 1: doing a great job over there with the praise dances
- 45:30Speaker 1: and you you definitely do a great job on uh
- 45:32Speaker 1: I Hapy third Sunday that you guys actually perform. Everybody
- 45:35Speaker 1: seemed to really like it. Well, thank you, thank you.
- 45:37Speaker 1: What can I do for you today? It was a
- 45:39Speaker 1: bit of a situation with um. You know, it's been
- 45:41Speaker 1: brought to our attention. We actually had a small gathering,
- 45:44Speaker 1: a little meeting about it and wanted to I've been
- 45:46Speaker 1: elected to actually give you all and who is this?
- 45:49Speaker 1: I'm sorry, who are you again, brother Fuller? Uh huh?
- 45:53Speaker 1: And and who had a meeting uh some of the
- 45:57Speaker 1: brothers at the church and uh path to actually sat
- 45:59Speaker 1: and for moment on it. And I was actually elected
- 46:02Speaker 1: to actually just give you a call. It nothing that
- 46:05Speaker 1: I don't think we can't get rectified and you know,
- 46:07Speaker 1: move on slowly as we normally do. But I just
- 46:10Speaker 1: think it's we wanted to reach out to you and
- 46:12Speaker 1: kind of make you aware of it. If it's if
- 46:14Speaker 1: you don't mind, okay? Um? And what things are those? Well?
- 46:20Speaker 1: Since since a Tania has any of the praise dancers
- 46:24Speaker 1: before they became praise dancers? Was was any of them strippers?
- 46:31Speaker 1: I beg your partner, was any of the praise dancers
- 46:35Speaker 1: that at the church that you have on the praise
- 46:38Speaker 1: team right now with any of them strippers in the past.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I'm sorry, sir, I don't I don't really know who
- 46:43Speaker 1: you are, um, and I don't really understand this line
- 46:46Speaker 1: of question. But like I said, I'm brother full I
- 46:48Speaker 1: don't think we've met. But uh, like I said, I've
- 46:51Speaker 1: been elected to give you a call. Not now it
- 46:53Speaker 1: seemed like what happened is this past week when you
- 46:56Speaker 1: all actually uh danced, It seemed like a couple of
- 46:59Speaker 1: the girls was actually gyrating during the praise routine. Hey,
- 47:04Speaker 1: what jat raiding? Brother full I don't know who you are,
- 47:07Speaker 1: and I don't know what you saw. None of my
- 47:09Speaker 1: girls with gy rating. They would dancing for the Lord.
- 47:13Speaker 1: And I think if you look through your Lord's eye,
- 47:15Speaker 1: perhaps you would see them better. Exaid, maybe you were
- 47:17Speaker 1: looking through the jar rating. Aye, look a couple of
- 47:21Speaker 1: the girl we can point them out. A couple of
- 47:22Speaker 1: them have uh strip girl tendencies of it? Then, because
- 47:26Speaker 1: some of them has been up girls tendencies, you know what, sir?
- 47:31Speaker 1: I think we need to complete this call. Perhaps I
- 47:34Speaker 1: need to call bishop and speak to him myself, because
- 47:36Speaker 1: you know, I don't know what you do all day,
- 47:38Speaker 1: but I have a real job and I'm sitting here
- 47:40Speaker 1: holding a conversation in my office about gyrating strippers in
- 47:43Speaker 1: the church. Are you kidding me? Man? Listen? Now here's
- 47:46Speaker 1: a couple other things that they're talking about. Some of
- 47:49Speaker 1: the girls feet a real ass you when you are
- 47:51Speaker 1: a performing and they wanted to see it, maybe you can,
- 47:54Speaker 1: you can I don't know. Maybe I don't know if
- 47:56Speaker 1: y'all need to grip or whatever that y'all don't y'all
- 47:58Speaker 1: don't put lotion on. We're not sure what that is.
- 48:01Speaker 1: As well as the tote enail polo, everybody has three, four,
- 48:06Speaker 1: five different designs and everything is it? Any way, y'all
- 48:09Speaker 1: can be in unison with your totenail polis. But the
- 48:12Speaker 1: most important thing ill the ji raton doing the dance routine.
- 48:16Speaker 1: I don't know what your feet look like. I don't
- 48:18Speaker 1: need you calling me talking to me about my girls
- 48:20Speaker 1: their feet, their nail polis. Perhaps your man should be
- 48:23Speaker 1: on Jesus instead of on them. How about that man?
- 48:27Speaker 1: For I don't have time. I don't have time, and
- 48:31Speaker 1: to be on Jesus when somebody shaking them. But at
- 48:34Speaker 1: the church, now that's the problem. I know what. Look,
- 48:37Speaker 1: I'm at work now, I'm trying to keep a work tone.
- 48:40Speaker 1: You're gonna make me curse up here, and now let
- 48:41Speaker 1: me tell you something. Don't call me anymore. I will
- 48:44Speaker 1: deal with pastor. If he has something to say with me,
- 48:46Speaker 1: he can say it to me personally. But I'm done
- 48:48Speaker 1: with this conversation. Are you gonna deal with the Ji
- 48:51Speaker 1: Rayton is what we want to know. Maybe you know
- 48:53Speaker 1: what It just hit me. Maybe you're one of the
- 48:56Speaker 1: ones that's doing the gy rate. Look, let me tell
- 48:59Speaker 1: you something, my girl thing your rating and neither am
- 49:01Speaker 1: I Now I am done with this conversation. Do you understand?
- 49:04Speaker 1: But listen, I'm done all you're done with this rating.
- 49:07Speaker 1: We want to stop so we can We can't praise
- 49:10Speaker 1: the Lord if the boot isn't shake you know what, sirt? Look,
- 49:15Speaker 1: I gotta go to work. I gotta go now again.
- 49:17Speaker 1: I don't know what your issue is. It sounds to
- 49:19Speaker 1: me like you have an issue which I rerating booties
- 49:22Speaker 1: And I heard so much greating booties in one conversation
- 49:24Speaker 1: in my entire life. Now my mind is set on Jesus.
- 49:27Speaker 1: I don't know what your mand is set on. What's
- 49:28Speaker 1: to tell you? Before you was a praise then ministry
- 49:32Speaker 1: over the ministry? Did you el use to strip? Hu
- 49:35Speaker 1: didn't do no stripping? Now did your wife do any striping?
- 49:38Speaker 1: What did your mamma do any stripping? What you heard
- 49:42Speaker 1: what I said you were? How do you like to
- 49:44Speaker 1: somebody call you would ask you if your mamma get
- 49:45Speaker 1: some stript and how do you like that? I'm you
- 49:48Speaker 1: know what? I want to know? When is the next rehearsal,
- 49:50Speaker 1: Then the way I can come and pick out who
- 49:52Speaker 1: it is that's doing this till you don't have You
- 49:54Speaker 1: don't have any minutes at my rehearsal. I don't want
- 49:56Speaker 1: to see you at my rehearsal. I don't want to.
- 49:58Speaker 1: I don't want to see any part that you in
- 50:00Speaker 1: my worst if I see you near one of my girls.
- 50:01Speaker 1: That's why I'm coming after you myself. Do you understand me?
- 50:03Speaker 1: I need to find out who's doing that job thing.
- 50:07Speaker 1: You need to say your body y'all high, and I'm
- 50:09Speaker 1: glad y'all. Ain't then and when the plates being plays,
- 50:12Speaker 1: because I ain't no telling her you act with them?
- 50:13Speaker 1: One's coming through it, you know what? That's it. That's it.
- 50:16Speaker 1: You call me disrespecting me. I'm at work. They can't
- 50:19Speaker 1: even have this to more. You know what. Don't call
- 50:21Speaker 1: me no more. Don't look at my girls no more.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Man Come to the church and see what I got
- 50:25Speaker 1: for it. I don't want to know. Is you're gonna
- 50:26Speaker 1: stop the job rating? What is gonna do it? Moving?
- 50:30Speaker 1: That's gonna do it? Why you're talking to like that.
- 50:33Speaker 1: You're supposed to be a mine of side. Yeah, I
- 50:36Speaker 1: have done listening to tell you. Now I'm getting ready
- 50:39Speaker 1: to job. Well, I got one more thing to say
- 50:41Speaker 1: to you. Fold your lead. How you ain't got a
- 50:42Speaker 1: thing to say to me? I said I was dealing,
- 50:44Speaker 1: and I said, I got one more thing to say.
- 50:46Speaker 1: It is you Listen. You know what? Men, get off
- 50:47Speaker 1: of my phone. I'm gonna say it anyway. This is
- 50:50Speaker 1: Nephew Timment from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Your entire
- 50:55Speaker 1: praise and ministry congregation, all your girls got me to
- 50:59Speaker 1: frank phone call you. Oh I'm a shot for Oh
- 51:08Speaker 1: think I'm chursing on the radio. Oh, I think I'm
- 51:12Speaker 1: gonna have a show. I got one thing to ask you,
- 51:15Speaker 1: to tell you? What is the baddest radio show in
- 51:18Speaker 1: the land? Nobody else with the Steve Harvey More in
- 51:21Speaker 1: the show made the doors the church open? Yeah, man,
- 51:27Speaker 1: anybody might be one church. Your mama's dancing? What was
- 51:36Speaker 1: your mama? Monster? People, We're gonna go thro't tell him
- 51:42Speaker 1: how y'all gonna act when the ones come down? Now? Ye, Junior,
- 51:49Speaker 1: making it rain? Making it rain? What feeling the moment
- 51:55Speaker 1: I saw I saw the tossed up about this, you know, funny,
- 51:59Speaker 1: funny prank. But I like when they praise dance such
- 52:02Speaker 1: a church out. You don't like the praise dancing dog.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Oh no he ain't the one. I don't either. I
- 52:12Speaker 1: like the praiseless coming here for the singing, like singing
- 52:17Speaker 1: and the preaching, you know, you know, interpretation, a waving, spinning,
- 52:22Speaker 1: somebody got flagged white laying down. That's that's nice. That's nice.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Sometimes like their moms they be at the church. To them,
- 52:33Speaker 1: two moms that come to all the games. Oh they're
- 52:35Speaker 1: cold on Oh they're cold, but I you're moming. You
- 52:41Speaker 1: got on white gloves and white face. The words we

- 54:21Speaker 1: it for you. Here it is Strawberry Letter. Thank you, Nephew. Subject,
- 54:25Speaker 1: we did it and he's trying to do me. Dear
- 54:28Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley, I'm a thirty two year old married woman,
- 54:31Speaker 1: and I've got a problem with my district manager. For years,
- 54:35Speaker 1: we flirted with each other and it made work fun
- 54:38Speaker 1: and interesting. He's married, too, so I never imagined we'd
- 54:42Speaker 1: ever fool around, but we did. Here's how it happens.
- 54:46Speaker 1: I've been married three years and my husband was being
- 54:49Speaker 1: distant and staying out more than he usually does. I
- 54:52Speaker 1: asked if he was okay, and he said he was
- 54:54Speaker 1: stressed at work, but that he's fine. Right after that,
- 54:58Speaker 1: I ran into one of his female friends he went
- 55:00Speaker 1: to college with, who I never really clicked with. She
- 55:04Speaker 1: told me that she is praying things work out with
- 55:07Speaker 1: my husband at work because she's not used to seeing
- 55:10Speaker 1: him so depressed. She went on to say that my
- 55:13Speaker 1: husband confided in her about an issue with his boss
- 55:16Speaker 1: and how he resolved it. I could hardly breathe. I
- 55:21Speaker 1: went home and he confessed to confiding in her and
- 55:25Speaker 1: having dinner with her a few times to talk. He
- 55:28Speaker 1: swore to me that it was nothing major, just two
- 55:31Speaker 1: friends talking. I went to work the next day and
- 55:35Speaker 1: I lost it. I couldn't stop crying, and my manager
- 55:38Speaker 1: came in to check on me. He took me out
- 55:41Speaker 1: for coffee and we sat in his car talking. My
- 55:44Speaker 1: rap dress had all of my goodies on display, so
- 55:48Speaker 1: he reached in and rubbed a few things. He kept
- 55:51Speaker 1: on rubbing until I left his car with blurred vision.
- 55:54Speaker 1: Now he wants more, and I can't give him more.
- 55:58Speaker 1: What my husband did was very wrong, but I honestly
- 56:01Speaker 1: do not think my husband would cheat on me. My
- 56:04Speaker 1: district manager is using what he knows about my marriage
- 56:08Speaker 1: in his favor. He is trying to coerce me into
- 56:11Speaker 1: having an affair by saying my husband doesn't my husband
- 56:15Speaker 1: doesn't appreciate me, and revenge sex always makes a person
- 56:18Speaker 1: feel better. Is this man crazy or just being manipulative? Well,
- 56:24Speaker 1: you're the one that's crazy if you do let this
- 56:27Speaker 1: man manipulate you into having an affair with him, because
- 56:31Speaker 1: that is exactly what he's doing right now. You say
- 56:34Speaker 1: you haven't gone all the way with him, so you
- 56:36Speaker 1: can walk away with something of a clear conscience, So
- 56:40Speaker 1: please let that go and make sure it goes no
- 56:43Speaker 1: further with your boss. Okay, because he's unready set. He's
- 56:49Speaker 1: unready set right now, all you have to do is
- 56:51Speaker 1: give him the go and he's waiting for that. So
- 56:56Speaker 1: now your husband, your husband, on the other hand, what
- 57:00Speaker 1: is he doing? You say, you honestly don't believe he
- 57:04Speaker 1: would cheat on you. So so what were the dinners for?
- 57:08Speaker 1: If it was just with a friend? Why didn't he
- 57:10Speaker 1: tell you? Why did you have to make him confess
- 57:13Speaker 1: it to you? And he went out with her, this
- 57:17Speaker 1: other woman, not just once or twice, but a few times.
- 57:20Speaker 1: And she's a female friend from college that you don't
- 57:24Speaker 1: even these are your words click with. This is not
- 57:28Speaker 1: adding up. It's not looking good at all, because surely
- 57:32Speaker 1: she knows she's not one of your favorite people. Surely
- 57:34Speaker 1: she knows that. She still decided, though, to tell you
- 57:37Speaker 1: about what happened between her and your husband. That was
- 57:41Speaker 1: just messy. Don't you think that was messy? She knew
- 57:44Speaker 1: it would throw you into something, and it did. And
- 57:46Speaker 1: what does she have to gain from all this? I'm
- 57:49Speaker 1: thinking your husband? So you know, I just say, definitely
- 57:53Speaker 1: tell your your boss it's a no for you, and
- 57:57Speaker 1: then turn your attention to the more pressing issue of
- 57:59Speaker 1: your husband. Been his job in these dinner dates with
- 58:02Speaker 1: this college friend of his? I think there's definitely something
- 58:05Speaker 1: going on between them, and you need to get into
- 58:08Speaker 1: the bottom of it. Steve, that's not what this letter
- 58:13Speaker 1: is about to me. Ah read these letters. See Shirley
- 58:22Speaker 1: be really trying to help y'all. You know. And there's
- 58:26Speaker 1: a difference between me and Shelly because I might try
- 58:32Speaker 1: to help you sometimes I might not, but I'm always
- 58:37Speaker 1: here for entertainment. And that's the difference between me and
- 58:43Speaker 1: Shelly's response. So in the entertainment, I always peeled this
- 58:50Speaker 1: onion back to you. Tear up. We did it, and
- 58:56Speaker 1: he's trying to do it. This thirty two year old
- 59:00Speaker 1: married woman, she's got a problem with her district manager.
- 59:03Speaker 1: For years, we flirted with each other and it made
- 59:06Speaker 1: work fun and interested. Right there, that just tells you everything.
- 59:10Speaker 1: She went to work flirting with her district manager, and
- 59:15Speaker 1: she said because it made it fun and interested. Her
- 59:20Speaker 1: husband didn't know nothing about this. This was her doing.
- 59:24Speaker 1: She didn't come in out and tell her husband. You know,
- 59:26Speaker 1: I go to work and I have so much fun
- 59:28Speaker 1: with my district man. We flirt with each other, and
- 59:30Speaker 1: it's just made the years fun and interested. Keep that
- 59:33Speaker 1: in mind, ladies, he's married too, so I never imagine
- 59:38Speaker 1: we fool around, but we did. His hide happened. I've
- 59:42Speaker 1: been married three years now. For them three years, she
- 59:44Speaker 1: was still flirting, having fun with the district manager. To
- 59:47Speaker 1: keep this in mind now, and I've known my husband
- 59:51Speaker 1: being distant, staying out bored than he usually does. I
- 59:53Speaker 1: asked he was okay. He said he was stressed at work,
- 59:56Speaker 1: true statement, will find out later, but that he's fine
- 59:59Speaker 1: right after, and that I ran into one of his
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: female friends he went to college, which who I never
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: really click with. She told me she is praying things
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: work out with my husband at work because she's not
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: used to seeing him so depressed. Rick, let's pump your brakes.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Whenever a person comes to you saying they're ping for
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: you or your situation. God, don't dig at you and
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: pray for you at the same time, and need to
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: do real friends. All right, Steve, We'll have part two
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: of your response coming up at twenty three minutes after
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: the our subject for today's Strawberry Letter. We did it,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: and he's trying to do me. We'll get back into
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: it right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show, right,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Come on, Steve, let's recap Today's Strawberry Letter, the subject
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: we did it and he's trying to do me well.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: This thirty two year old woman been flirting with this
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: district manager for years and it's made work fun and interesting.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: She's married for three years now, but she'd been doing
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: this without her husband knowing. Okay, didn't notice her husband
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: standing out more than usual. Ass was everything fine? He said,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: he was stressed out at work. Then you ran up
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: in the one of his female college friends who you
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: don't really like, never click with. She told you she's
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: praying everything works out for your husband at work because
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: she's never used to seeing him so depressed. A woman
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: comes to you tells you that they praying for you.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: People always be aware. People come to you something. I'm
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: praying for you in your situation, But then it comes
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: in the form of a deed. No, you're not. No,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: you know you ain't praying for me. That ain't high
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: prayer works. We ain't friends. And then she went on
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: to say that your husband confided in her about an
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: issue with his boss and not and how he resolved it.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: I could hardly breathe. I went home and he confessed
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: to confiding in her and having dinner with her a
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: few times of talking. He swore to me that nothing major,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: just two friends talking. I went to work the next
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: day and I lost it. I couldn't stop crying. Now,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: wait a minute, ain't you the same woman? You can't
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: believe he confided in her. I bet your husband wouldn't
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: believe that you and with your district manager for years
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: at work, and it's been fun and interest. See now
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: all of a sudden he didn't confide it in this
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: college girl, and they didn't had dinner a couple of times.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Now you can't you crying at work? I bet your
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: husband would have been crying if he'd known you was
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: at work flirting with your district manager. See, you can't
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: have your cake and eat it too. You can't do
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: one thing. And then when it happened to you nice
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: all messed up. Now the whole letter is you think
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: your man cheating on you. I couldn't stop crying. And
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: then my manager came in to check on me. He
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: took me out the coffee. We said in his car talking.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: Now you would work now you thirty two wrap dress
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: had all my goodies on display. It was the size
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: of the wrap dress that had your goodies on display,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: and the way you were sitting in the car. You
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: know how wrap dresses fit. They wrapped and unwrapped. So
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: when you said in the car, it wasn't wrapped no
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: more because it wasn't enough fabric in the first damn place.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: He reached in and he rubbed a few things. He
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: kept on rubbing until I left his car with blood vision.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: That he hadn't rubbed you all tween your thighs and
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: all on your cleavage in this wrap dress until you
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: had blood vision. Well, what kind of rubbing was going
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: on in this car? Well, I bet your husband would
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: have been amazed to find this out. You've been flirting
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: for years. Now You're in the car rubbing until you
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: got blurred vision. Oh, I know what he was doing.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I know how to rub and win. I know how
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: to induce blurred vision. I crossed your eyes. Yeah, I
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: hear you sitting in that car cock eye. That's right.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I had y'all all up in the back of your
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: head if you let me rub like I know how
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: to rub. See that what district manage with you? When
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: he was rubbing until you got blurred vision. You don't
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: get blurred vision from somebody running across his hand across
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: your chest. That ain't how you blur your vision. You
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: got to get into one of them creases of him.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: For that wrap dress opened up back, and it opened
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: in two parts. It opened up at the thighs in
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: the wrap dress, and it opened up in the cleavage
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: at the wrap dress. He in both their marriage because
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: your vision blurred. Now he wants more and I can't
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: give him more. You ain't say you didn't want to.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: You said you can't. What my husband did was very wrong,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: But honestly, I don't think my husband would cheat on me.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I bet your husband don't thank you being a car
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: getting rubbed onto. Your bligion to your vision got blurred either,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: but you did. My district managers, using what he knows
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: about my marriage and his favor, you told him he's
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: trying to coerce me into having an affair by saying
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: my husband doesn't appreciate me, Well, you should ask him
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: does he appreciate his wife? Because it's a lot of
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: non appreciative people on this in this letter right now.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Then he says, and revenge sex always makes a person
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: feel better. Revenge sex, that's the stupid approach. Your district manager. Dumb.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: You don't use revenge sex as the approach to getting yours.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: You got to, you got to, you got to. You
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: got to make a person feel like you can be
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: there for him. Let's talk about this some more. Let's
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: get somewhere and getting the consolation party. That's the stupid
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: revenge six to always make a person feel better. That's
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: a dumb approach. He should be more consoling so he
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: could do more rubbing if that's what he wanted. Now
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: is this man crazier just being manipulative? Keep both. He's
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: crazy for using the stupid ass approach that he used.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: He was almost home with the goodies with Jess rubbing.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Now he talked about revenge six And is he being manipulative? Yes?
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: And are you willing yes? Have you been flirting for years? Yes?
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Have you been in the car with him getting rubbed
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: onto your vision got blurred? Yes? Did your husband go
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: to dinner with this woman? Yes? Did he talk about
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: his problems? Yes? Everybody in this letter wrong and you
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: want us to tell you how wrong your husband is.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: I think you're the wrong person in the letter, and
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: I think you get what you put out. Post your
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: comments on Today's Strawberry Letter, f Instagram and Faithbook, and
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: check out the Subbary Letter Podcast one demand coming up
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: with forty six minutes after the hour, we'll have Sports
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: Talk with Junior right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: Morning Show. It is time now for Sports Talk with Junior,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: which you got Junior. I don't know, Sirlott, what's going
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: on with the NFL players? But crazy is going through
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: here now. I don't know what. I don't know if
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: you saw this, but Cleveland Brown defensive tackle Malik McDowell
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: was arrested for public exposure and assaulting an officer down
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Did you see this? I saw
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: this butt naked, butt naked? What but not ply? Yeah?
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Fighting police running down the street, fighting the po poles,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: butt naked. Pull it up, man, man, you had to
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: see it? Yes? What send it to me? Many? Hold on?
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: I just I don't wait a minute. He was fighting
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: the police, button naked, yes, and dropping them hands on him,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: putting them hands on him too, said he was well,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: he looked like he did it before. He looked like
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: he hadn't done this. Yeah, when he been in a
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: lot of locker room fights and stuff. So he but
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: what drug was this? Though? I don't know what this is? Man,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: That ain't we so what isn't? No, that's not weird.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: They released a statement we say we understand the severity
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: of this matter and our thoughts are for all well
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: being for people that are involved. We have no further
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: comment at this time. But I'm just saying, well, what
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: he gonna have to do is go to the go
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: to one right now, mental health issues. He got the
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: gold Air No, so this was it was just crazy, man.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: But in other good news though, I'm really proud of
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: this though. The Boston Bruins retired the number twenty two
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: in honor of Willie Oree, the first black NHL player.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, it was a nice ceremony for him. Man.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: He's the twelfth player in Bruin's history to have his
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: number retired. He played from nineteen fifty eight to nineteen
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: seventy nine. He is now eighty six years old. His
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: number has been retired sixty four years later, so no
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: one will ever wear the number twenty two again. He
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: played more than one thousand, one hundred games. He is
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: referred to as the Jackie Robinson of ice hockey. He
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: is also in the NHL Hall of Fame. He was
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: inducted in November of two thousand and eighteen. Mister Willie O. Reid,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: Congratulations sir, you did that, sir Englations that is big man. Now,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Junior want to commend you on on actually reading this
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: story like you knew what you was talking about. Congratulations
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: on that. Thank you, sir. Thank you very much. I
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: just sent you to do he sixty. I just send

- 1:10:03Speaker 1: understand it. He has to do that, man, So congratulations,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: mister Willio. Remain proud of you. Thank you so much
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: for opening any doors all these black any child players
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: we got now he was the first. He was in there,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: all right, Junior, thank you. Coming up next at the
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: top of the hour, Stevie Wonder calls out lawmakers who
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: refused to take action on voting rights and we'll talk
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: about it right after this. You're listening to the Steve
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Stevie Wonder is calling for the Senate
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: to pass voting rights legislation immediately now. On the evening
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: of Martin Luther King Junior Day on Monday. That was
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: January seventeenth. Of course, Stevie shared a video message in
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: which he issued a call to action to lawmakers who
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: refused to act on voting rights. Take a listen. Any
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: senator who cannot support the protection of voting rights in
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: the United States of America cannot say and they support
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: the constitution, stop the hypocrisy. Cut if you can and
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: support our rights, do the hard work. You can't please everybody,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: but you can protect all of us. To keep it
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: all the way real. The filibuster is not working for democracy.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Why won't you step Yes, Steven, that's truth. That's truth. See,
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: the filibuster doesn't work for democracy, but it works for
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: people to hold their power in their position. Yes, that's all.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: The filibuster. The The filibuster isn't even a law. It's
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: it's not even a law. It's just something that they
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: created to do. They could disband it. It's not a law.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: It is not even as It's the craziest thing, man,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: how they've managed. The minority has managed to hold on
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: to these things to control the majority. The electoral college
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: vote is so the minority has a bigger say than
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: the majority. That's what is for. That's why they'll never
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: get rid of it. It was for slave owning states
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: to maintain a level of control right as same mess
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: man is in place today. The hypocrisy of this country,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: it's alarming, man, It is alarming. And that in the
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: year twenty twenty two, we still have to ask white
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: people for rights, and we got to ask them for it,
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: and we gotta keep asking white people for rights. This
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: is bull sugar hunt iced tea. That's all this is.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: If this was happening to white people, it would have
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: been resolved. I'm telling you right now. Do this to
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: white people and see what happened. Tell white people that
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: you don't have the same voting rights. Tell white people
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: they got they got to jump through hoops for freedom.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Tell white people that you're not really included in this constitution.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: Tell it too. Go tell white people you can't get
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: the same education. Go tell it to white people to
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: watch what Watch all right, So go tell mansion. Go
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: tell mansion in West Virginia that what we're doing to
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: black people we're going to do to you. Watch what happened.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Watch Also go tell any white person, we're going to
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: now start treating you like we treat all black people.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: And watch what happened. How the hell are we still
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: doing this in twenty twenty two. America is so full
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: of hypocrisy. Man, This most hypocritical country on Earth. It's
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: the greatest nation. Prove it. We're the greatest nation, but
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: we got the highest incarceration rate in the world. We're
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: the greatest nation. We got the highest COVID deaths in
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: the world. We're the greatest nation. We got the worst
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: healthcare system in the world, but we supposed to be
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: the richest. Canada got a better healthcare system. We got
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: way moment in Canada. We're the greatest at being the worst.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: You know that we're the greatest when it comes to
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: treating people unequal. We're the best at that. But making
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: them think that they are equal, but doing stuff to
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: constantly show that they're not. We leave the world in violence.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: All right, thank you, Steve. We'll have more of today's
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: trending stories on the Steve Every Morning show coming up

- 1:16:17Speaker 1: he just needs a quick clowning with me. I want
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: to apologize my haters, because here he go again. My bad.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I told you who I belonged to, and
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: I told you who I was, and he keeps showing

- 1:16:34Speaker 1: I want to apologize my haters, man, boy, If I win,

- 1:17:11Speaker 1: the beach, on the beach, on the beach, or a
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: cabin in the woods? Black people don't do cabin in
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: the mood. That ain't really what we do. Do they
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: do beaches? We do beaches and manship question? Do you
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: have a house only beach just s just out here
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: on play a survival? You can have a you can

- 1:20:56Speaker 1: I don't. I ain't. Let's see, my job is to
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: protect her now diving that water with a butcher knife
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: and in a shark of life, but using nice shall
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: ass water. But that's all I'm doing. I'm just watching

- 1:22:21Speaker 1: that ain't what my country asked come out here to do.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: So just you know, it's a lot of a lot
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: of things you can do. You're just going to participate.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Just keep it going. I don't really want to talk
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: about it because you know the other people be listening
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: to know that's what's the cigar account? You just smoke by? Now?
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: Oh who? Since Monday? Yes, it's been up there about seventeen.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: You know, I'm smoking a lot. You like, you know,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I'm like, hell yeah, that's the problem. He got gym

- 1:23:21Speaker 1: a French chelf. You know, he need to somebody need
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: to introduce his ass to peach cobbler, pound cakes, something
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: like that. Only little pofes and moose songs. Yeah, tart
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: when you make a tart, you mean tiny ass version
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: of anybody? Just thought? How about pie? Don't and to
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: be stuff, the stuff that you don't really need to
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: be making a pie. Who the hell wants to eat
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: a keywee tart? What is it? Keyweed tart? Man? You
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: don't get some peaches and get some cruss up in
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: the hill sugar, Jenny said, poy, no pie. Is he
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: familiar with sweet potato pipe? Did he know anything about it? Oh? No, no,
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: These these punkin pipe people out here, you, Oh, they
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: believe in punkin pie, punking soup. They love punk i'na
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: you don't know how to make potatoes soup. Yes, it's
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: just different, different cultures. You gotta get over put caveat
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: on everything. I'll be gonna there we go food. Put
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: can stop talking about Hey, listen, I want to give
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: you all little piece of encouragement the last couple of
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: minutes I got. Twenty twenty two can be the greatest
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: year of your life if you expect it to be.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: You have to project the thoughts that you want return
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: to you. Everything starts with the thought. You are no
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: dream come true without starting a thought. Once you start
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: the thought, that enables you to start the process, but
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: it starts what you're thinking. You have to change the
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: way you think make twenty twenty two the best year
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: of your life by changing it to the best thoughts
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: of your life. Positive thoughts bring about positive results period.
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: It works no other way. You can ask any person
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: that's successful. It starts with how you think. Remove negativity
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: from your thought process and positivity will invade your life space.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: That is a fact that scripture. A man is as
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: he thinking that. That's the law of attraction. That's how
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: remote control works. That's how it all works. Man. It
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: does not work any different, and it will not work
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: any different for you. The law of attraction is real.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Whether you understand it, believe it, or adhere to it,
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: it's still the same law of attraction. You are what
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: you put out in twenty twenty two. Focus on putting
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: out positive imagery of yourself. Stop allowing people who do
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: not create you, who do not love you, who do
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: not have your best interests at heart, and don't know
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: anything about you, determine how you feel about yourself. You
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: can control the narrative of yourself. You elevate your thoughts,
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: you elevate your life. That's your mission for twenty twenty two.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: Y'all have a great day. God bless you. Talk to God,
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: he loved to hear from you. I'm going to do
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: the same myself. God willing will see y'all. The mall
