  today of a verse from 2 Chronicles. We're going

  way back. 2 Chronicles, and it's in chapter 20,

  and it's verse 23. It's a unique situation. You

  should read probably the whole story if you really

  want to dig into it in 2 Chronicles chapter 20.

  But I'm just going to read verse 23 for today

  for the principle that the Lord has laid on my
• 0:22
  heart. And it says, The men of Ammon and Moab
• 0:25
  rose up against the men from Mount Phaer. to
• 0:28
  destroy and annihilate them. After they finished
• 0:31
  slaughtering the men from Zair, they helped to
• 0:34
  destroy one another. The bottom line is these
• 0:37
  were men who were willing to take others' lives
• 0:39
  with their swords. It was probably pretty easy
• 0:43
  to turn them against each other because they
• 0:45
  had had past rivalries. They could take with
• 0:50
  their sword what they couldn't take by any other
• 0:52
  means. It's like that in the world. People want
• 0:55
  what they want, and they're going to do what
• 0:56
  they have to do to get it. not like that in the
• 0:59
  kingdom. We submit to God the Father through
• 1:02
  his Son, Jesus Christ. Our fellowship is with
• 1:04
  God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. We

  can't just go around attacking anyone we want.

  We can't just go around beating people up with
• 1:12
  words or holding anger in our heart against people,
• 1:15
  feeling vengeful, gossip, slander, all these
• 1:18
  things the kingdom just does not allow. Let it
• 1:21
  be said, then, that if you live by the sword,
• 1:24
  you die by the sword. That's what Jesus said
• 1:26
  to Peter, and it's absolutely true. The way you
• 1:29
  live, live for Christ, is the way you will live.
• 1:32
  And the way you live your whole life is the way
• 1:35
  you will die, honoring God and transitioning
• 1:38
  to heaven for eternity through his son Jesus.
