- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know, y'all a suit looking back to back down,
- 0:13Speaker 1: giving them like theming bus things and it's not good.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Steve to mother sty don't join me. You gotta turn,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you gotta turn to turn them out. Got to turn
- 1:44Speaker 1: out to turn the water the water. Come come on
- 1:59Speaker 1: your back. Uh huh. I show well, Hey, good morning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 1: You're listening to the voice, Come on dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. I've
- 2:12Speaker 1: been saying it like that since I got it too.
- 2:16Speaker 1: All Right, I gotta go one for you today. Yesterday
- 2:18Speaker 1: the other day, I was talking to you about the
- 2:21Speaker 1: most effective weapon available to us as human beings, I
- 2:24Speaker 1: think is prayer. I think prayer helps us in so
- 2:28Speaker 1: many ways. But right now, what I want to do
- 2:31Speaker 1: is I want to show you how prayer pays off.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I want I want to show you what good it
- 2:37Speaker 1: can do for you, even me. I use it every day,
- 2:41Speaker 1: and and the days I don't use it, I feel
- 2:43Speaker 1: it that that, you know, the days that I go,
- 2:47Speaker 1: you know, without talking to him as much, I notice it.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I feel it. I feel a certain kind of way
- 2:53Speaker 1: you know, those those that doubt starts slipping in again,
- 2:56Speaker 1: that uneasy feeling of uncertainty slips in, and again that
- 3:00Speaker 1: that wondering what I'm gonna do start slipping in again
- 3:03Speaker 1: happens to me. It happens everybody. Man, I think, I
- 3:06Speaker 1: really really do you know, if people would just keep
- 3:08Speaker 1: it real with each other, stop being this Christian this superman,
- 3:13Speaker 1: because you ain't you ain't. There's a scripture that says
- 3:17Speaker 1: that's none perfect, no, not one. That's everybody that covered
- 3:25Speaker 1: all of us thought. So sometimes I think we're a
- 3:27Speaker 1: little too hard on each other with that too, Seeing
- 3:30Speaker 1: it's how we're not perfect, we immediately want to just
- 3:34Speaker 1: just oh man, you just want to kill when we
- 3:37Speaker 1: find somebody do something wrong. But if you go public,
- 3:40Speaker 1: everything go public now called social media. But anyway, I
- 3:43Speaker 1: just want to talk to you about how prayer pays off.
- 3:48Speaker 1: It's called all eye and money. People got money, call
- 3:51Speaker 1: it all eyes a return on investment. People are always
- 3:55Speaker 1: looking for a return on investment. You know, nobody, nobody
- 3:58Speaker 1: in business really gives you money without understanding the return
- 4:02Speaker 1: on investment. They don't even give money to charities unless
- 4:06Speaker 1: they think it can do something with the bottom line.
- 4:09Speaker 1: A lot of companies work like that. I found out
- 4:11Speaker 1: out myself sad, but it is true. So since everything
- 4:16Speaker 1: is expected to work on a return on investment as
- 4:19Speaker 1: soon because we're human beings. So since we're all human beings,
- 4:22Speaker 1: whether you're in business or not, you're still in the
- 4:26Speaker 1: business of living. I think when you pray, you should
- 4:31Speaker 1: expect a return on your investment. You talk to him,
- 4:36Speaker 1: you spend time opening it up to him, You bowed
- 4:40Speaker 1: your head to him, you humbled yourself, you got on
- 4:44Speaker 1: your knees. I mean, but really we're talking God here,
- 4:47Speaker 1: So really, what you're doing ain't really about nothing. Be
- 4:49Speaker 1: honest with You're a little bit that you do do
- 4:52Speaker 1: on his behalf. It just pales in comparison with what
- 4:56Speaker 1: he does. But let's just say you want to call
- 4:58Speaker 1: yourself invested, well, let me show you how it pays
- 5:02Speaker 1: off this because for me, this is for me now,
- 5:05Speaker 1: prayer pays off in different ways. That's what I had
- 5:08Speaker 1: to learn. See, I was praying, but I was asking
- 5:11Speaker 1: him specifically for what I wanted. I had the audacity, though,
- 5:16Speaker 1: to turn around and tell him how to do what
- 5:18Speaker 1: I wanted. That's amazing, man, I can't tell you how
- 5:21Speaker 1: many blessings I blocked coming my way by putting my
- 5:25Speaker 1: faith in what I said I wanted and how I
- 5:28Speaker 1: wanted him to do it. I want you to give
- 5:30Speaker 1: me this. I want that person to go away. I
- 5:34Speaker 1: want this person to accept everything you say. Then I
- 5:38Speaker 1: want to go over here and I want this deal
- 5:40Speaker 1: to happen like this, and I want that person to
- 5:43Speaker 1: just step aside and let me let me through. And
- 5:46Speaker 1: then I wanted I was. I hadn't mapped out. God
- 5:50Speaker 1: must have been chuckling really hard. He hadn't been gonna. Boy,
- 5:53Speaker 1: I made you to be funny. But boy, you're funny now.
- 5:55Speaker 1: So you're gonna tell me how to do it. And
- 5:58Speaker 1: you've all heard this right here. If you want to
- 5:59Speaker 1: make God laugh telling me your plan, well, that's what
- 6:02Speaker 1: I did. And that's how we pray. A lot of
- 6:04Speaker 1: times we pray, and we pray in the prayer with
- 6:08Speaker 1: telling him how to work it out. Well, here's the deal.
- 6:12Speaker 1: This is what I've learned. Prayer pays off in different ways.
- 6:16Speaker 1: There's a different return of my investment when I pray. See,
- 6:20Speaker 1: sometimes when I'm praying for something, a situation to dissolve
- 6:25Speaker 1: itself or go away. Sometimes I get courage out of
- 6:30Speaker 1: the prayer. Prayer provides me courage. That's just to go
- 6:36Speaker 1: on and look at it. I guess face it. Then.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Sometimes when I'm praying about a situation, sometimes prayer gives
- 6:46Speaker 1: me hanging power. Sometimes, man, it just I look up
- 6:50Speaker 1: and I'm just handling it better. Sometimes prayer gives you
- 6:54Speaker 1: laugh at off power. Sometimes, man, you just got to
- 6:58Speaker 1: laugh at off whatever. Man you trip it? Do you
- 7:05Speaker 1: know what that is? If you could do that, you know.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Sometimes it gives it gives you a show of strength power.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Sometimes prayer allows you to have the appearance that you
- 7:18Speaker 1: got it all together. Nobody got to know the world.
- 7:22Speaker 1: When the tornado, the hurricane that's swirling in your life,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you're standing over that like the eye the hurricane you
- 7:29Speaker 1: and it's all swirling around you. But you're standing that
- 7:32Speaker 1: like the eye, you just as calm. That's what prayer does.
- 7:35Speaker 1: So when you pray, man, it builds up a lot
- 7:39Speaker 1: of things in you. You know what it's done for me.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Prayer has built up character in me. It's made me
- 7:45Speaker 1: have more character because I'm able to stand stronger on
- 7:48Speaker 1: the things I say because I've been praying because I've
- 7:52Speaker 1: been asking God for all of those return of investments.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I've been asking God for courage. I've been asking God
- 7:59Speaker 1: for hanging power. I've been asking him to give me
- 8:01Speaker 1: the power to walk away. I've asked him to give
- 8:04Speaker 1: me ignored power. I've asking to help me laugh at off.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I've asked him to show me strength. But you know
- 8:10Speaker 1: what I was doing, I was really praying, not really
- 8:12Speaker 1: for them things be real with you. I was asking
- 8:15Speaker 1: them to help me, Lord, help me. You ever done that?
- 8:18Speaker 1: You ever asked God for help? And then all of
- 8:20Speaker 1: a sudden a list of these things show up. See,
- 8:23Speaker 1: sometimes how you want the problem to be solved ain't
- 8:25Speaker 1: the best way. There's a lesson to be learned when
- 8:28Speaker 1: we make mistakes. And sometimes you got to stay in
- 8:30Speaker 1: that fire and you got to learn that lesson. But
- 8:34Speaker 1: guess what, though, when you come out of it, you're
- 8:36Speaker 1: gonna be better for it. You're gonna know more about it.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Come on, y'all, pray. He's solid. His word is true,
- 8:43Speaker 1: It lasts forever. He do what he say gonna do now,
- 8:46Speaker 1: all day, all night, twenty four seven, he do it
- 8:51Speaker 1: all day, all night, and then some more. His word
- 8:54Speaker 1: don't ever change. It is true. It works for me.
- 8:57Speaker 1: It worked for you. It worked for Jake's It worked
- 9:00Speaker 1: for Old Steam, It worked for Kirk Franklin, It worked
- 9:04Speaker 1: for Paula White, It worked for Billy Graham, It worked
- 9:08Speaker 1: for Mother Teresa, It worked for Gandhi, It worked for
- 9:12Speaker 1: the Princess Arabs. It worked, man, it worked for you.
- 9:18Speaker 1: What you're waiting for? Why don't you put praying your game?
- 9:21Speaker 1: Watch what happened to you? You're sitting in that jail
- 9:24Speaker 1: seale and you're struggling with it, and they're telling you
- 9:26Speaker 1: bloody and blood out, you can't get in you. That's foolishness, man,
- 9:30Speaker 1: What you mean God can get you out of anything. Look, man,
- 9:34Speaker 1: if you didn't read your Bible, he didn't got some
- 9:35Speaker 1: people out of some sticky situations. I don't know what
- 9:37Speaker 1: you're talking about. If Daniel was in the lions den
- 9:40Speaker 1: and Jonah was in the belly of the whale, what
- 9:42Speaker 1: you're talking about? Where you are? You just sitting in
- 9:44Speaker 1: the sale with some dudes round you're talking about what
- 9:46Speaker 1: they're gonna do. Man, you gotta be real. God, it
- 9:48Speaker 1: can't nothing to do nothing. Nobody can't nobody do nothing.
- 9:52Speaker 1: To you. God won't give you to strift to handle.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Prayer changes things. Man, you're listening, Ladies and gentlemen, Let's
- 10:03Speaker 1: get it on to Steve Harvey. Morning shore is alive
- 10:05Speaker 1: and where we in vivid color this morning? Uh, the
- 10:10Speaker 1: clue is different today. Watch this, ladies and gentleman caller
- 10:13Speaker 1: for real. Good morning, Steve, Hey, Tommy Hey, juniors, jump
- 10:17Speaker 1: right over to that damn junior morning. Everybody morning, um,
- 10:21Speaker 1: and close it out with the food. The king of pranks.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm in here, baby, So that's it. Three fools and
- 10:31Speaker 1: the Queen. It's gonna try to keep it in order.
- 10:34Speaker 1: We can do that, we can do at the Queen's court. Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 1: how y'all doing today? How y'all doing today? How are
- 10:44Speaker 1: you doing? Good? Man? You know we here good. I'm blessed,
- 10:48Speaker 1: holly favored all of that. Come on, did our quarantine
- 10:52Speaker 1: man just saw who? Wha it was? What your face? Yeah?
- 11:02Speaker 1: I'm just ready. Yeah, I think you know for it
- 11:06Speaker 1: to be over, because it ain't over. No, I know
- 11:10Speaker 1: you know they're not talking me out my house. Come
- 11:12Speaker 1: on down to the mall. Come on, see this moving
- 11:16Speaker 1: you don't feel like bowling? No? Hell no, I don't
- 11:19Speaker 1: feel like dying, right, and you know you can't keep
- 11:25Speaker 1: the virus out of the White House. So now you
- 11:27Speaker 1: want running all through that. Yeah, now you're talking. That's
- 11:30Speaker 1: to come to work, come to the mall. I'm gonna
- 11:33Speaker 1: be there by thatself. How you trying to call machine off?
- 11:40Speaker 1: They would out to do nothing, the red phone and ringing.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Oh that's the phone right there after. You know, everybody,
- 11:52Speaker 1: it's just crazy, man, And yeah, it really is. See
- 11:57Speaker 1: they're trying to figure out if they should give most
- 11:59Speaker 1: in checks to people. You know it. People are struggling.
- 12:05Speaker 1: People are unemployed. This is the worst unemployment numbers since ever,
- 12:12Speaker 1: even past the depression, the great depression ever in the
- 12:15Speaker 1: history of the country. Well Trump, Trump ain't going to
- 12:17Speaker 1: say that. Hey, on the other side of it, some
- 12:21Speaker 1: things are getting better concerning the disease, I guess they're
- 12:26Speaker 1: getting closer to some medicines that can help. I'm assuming
- 12:30Speaker 1: they're getting closer to a vaccination. There is no talk
- 12:33Speaker 1: of a cure. But look, man, until there's a vascination,
- 12:38Speaker 1: we got to be careful here, yea. And even then,
- 12:42Speaker 1: a's talk about people don't really want to take the vascination.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I just look, man, we have to be careful, that's all.
- 12:48Speaker 1: We gotta be smart, right, don't rush out there, don't
- 12:51Speaker 1: take get you where your mask, get you some gloves,
- 12:53Speaker 1: get you a shield, wash your hands, and practice social
- 12:56Speaker 1: distancing period. That's all you. That's all we have. That's
- 13:01Speaker 1: all you can do. Because we've been practicing all that
- 13:04Speaker 1: right now, we've been staying away from the virus. It's
- 13:07Speaker 1: still out there, we just haven't been around us. So now. Yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 1: but when I when I was still done. Yeah, but
- 13:14Speaker 1: when I would see footage of the Great Depression, like
- 13:16Speaker 1: in high school and junior history classes, you know, people
- 13:20Speaker 1: begging for britt, I never thought it would ever go
- 13:24Speaker 1: back to that in a lifetime. Oh my god, never
- 13:28Speaker 1: in my lifetime. I think we would see that. Yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 1: the food banks are that's really sad, the lines out there.
- 13:33Speaker 1: All right, Well, we got more to talk about coming out.
- 13:36Speaker 1: We're gonna you're gonna help some people in relationships. Steve,
- 13:39Speaker 1: Ask the CLO coming up right after this and we'll
- 13:42Speaker 1: be back at thirty times. You're listening to Steven Show
- 13:47Speaker 1: time for Ask the CLO. That's the Chief Love Officer, Missus,
- 13:51Speaker 1: Steve Harvey And if you want to get advice from
- 13:54Speaker 1: the CLO, go right now to Steve Harvey FM dot
- 13:57Speaker 1: com and submit your questions. Here we go, Steve. This
- 14:00Speaker 1: one is from Shana and Tampa. I am twenty two
- 14:04Speaker 1: years old. I have been in a serious relationship for
- 14:07Speaker 1: three years, and my boyfriend has talked to my parents
- 14:10Speaker 1: about proposing. I feel like we're too young to get married,
- 14:15Speaker 1: but my parents are excited about it. They got married
- 14:19Speaker 1: young and want me to do the same and start
- 14:21Speaker 1: a family right away. I want to be carefree and
- 14:25Speaker 1: date other people like I should be doing in my twenties.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I've heard that the grass is not greener on the
- 14:31Speaker 1: other side, but I want to see for myself. I
- 14:34Speaker 1: don't want to be a wife and a mom before
- 14:37Speaker 1: I'm twenty five years old. Am I being naive? And
- 14:40Speaker 1: should I honor my parents' wishes? No? Absolutely? No, absolutely not.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Young lady, you made the statement that you're not ready.
- 14:54Speaker 1: You made the statement that you want to date other people.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Your parents are pushing this because they were married young.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Look you your parents, that's this is a different day
- 15:04Speaker 1: in age at different time. Yeah, And even though it's
- 15:07Speaker 1: a different time, the one thing that matters only is
- 15:11Speaker 1: you said you're not ready and you don't want to
- 15:14Speaker 1: be married. If you get married because your parents say so,
- 15:18Speaker 1: you will get a divorce. You will get a divorce.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And I don't care if your parents were sitting across
- 15:24Speaker 1: the table from me. You can't get married for your parents.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Marriage is hard. Man, man, man, you don't run over
- 15:34Speaker 1: here in this hill. Yeah, yeah, you're ready. Yeah, because
- 15:39Speaker 1: let me explain something to you. It's more than what
- 15:42Speaker 1: you think it is. Whatever you think marriage is, get
- 15:45Speaker 1: a magnifying glass, put it on it, get some by focals,
- 15:49Speaker 1: put it on it, and multiply that by ten. That's
- 15:52Speaker 1: what it is. Square then bye forever by that multiplied
- 16:01Speaker 1: by forever. Because let me tell you what will not
- 16:04Speaker 1: go away, this feeling of I want to date other
- 16:06Speaker 1: people until you get that out your system. Don't you
- 16:11Speaker 1: go down there and get married? Yeah? Thinking what your
- 16:14Speaker 1: boyfriend did you twenty two girls style? Listen, I got married,
- 16:20Speaker 1: got married? You got married at twenty four. I prepared
- 16:27Speaker 1: to be anybody's husband. M why'd you get married? On?
- 16:32Speaker 1: What happened? Well? You know, I got talked into it.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I even, man, my mother even apologized to me for
- 16:38Speaker 1: talking me into it. Three months before I was getting married.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I was calling it off. She said, baby, you just
- 16:44Speaker 1: got cold feet them people and put in them wedding plans.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Don't you don't do people like that. We're good people,
- 16:52Speaker 1: I see. But you know, look, I loved her, you
- 16:54Speaker 1: know what I mean. But I wasn't equipped and I
- 17:00Speaker 1: shouldn't have done it because I did an injustice to her.
- 17:05Speaker 1: At that age, I just did an injustice to her,
- 17:07Speaker 1: So I wouldn't do a young lady. Next question, Yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: I agree with you. Steve. All right, Rocks, No, this
- 17:14Speaker 1: is Rock and Queens, New York. All right. I've been
- 17:16Speaker 1: with my girlfriend for ten years. A year ago, we
- 17:18Speaker 1: hid a rough patch and my girlfriend broke up with
- 17:21Speaker 1: me and started dating some dude. I begged for forgiveness,
- 17:26Speaker 1: and after three months of being apart, she came back
- 17:29Speaker 1: to me. Shortly after we got back. Shortly after we
- 17:33Speaker 1: got back together, she told me she was pregnant. We
- 17:36Speaker 1: just had a beautiful baby girl, and I am so
- 17:38Speaker 1: in love with her, but I can't help but think
- 17:41Speaker 1: this might not be my child. Tell me, I keep
- 17:46Speaker 1: going over the timeline of when we broke up and
- 17:50Speaker 1: something isn't right. Should I tell her that I want
- 17:53Speaker 1: to take a paternity test or should I sneak and
- 17:56Speaker 1: take the test? See l Well, let me ask you
- 18:01Speaker 1: a question. Why how are you gonna take the test
- 18:06Speaker 1: without the baby? Are you gotta take the baby with
- 18:09Speaker 1: you have to have DNA take the baby down there
- 18:14Speaker 1: with you. I don't really know how to work. Yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 1: but I think you could have a conversation with your
- 18:24Speaker 1: girl and just say, look, this has really been puzzling me.
- 18:28Speaker 1: And I love this baby girl. I'm really crazy about her,
- 18:31Speaker 1: but I'm a little confused about the timeline and I
- 18:34Speaker 1: need your help right here. I know you dated somebody else.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Did you have unprotected sex? Is this my child? Who
- 18:43Speaker 1: the baby looked like? I mean, you got to solve
- 18:46Speaker 1: this in your head. Now. Suppose she tells you, young man,
- 18:51Speaker 1: that it's his baby, then what are you prepared to do.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Are you gonna leave her because of that? Or are
- 18:57Speaker 1: you gonna go I love you and the child anyway?
- 19:00Speaker 1: Hold on, god, man, you need to get that baby
- 19:05Speaker 1: which is somebody oversetting the five and let them look
- 19:08Speaker 1: at it. You need somebody with some glasses. All old
- 19:12Speaker 1: school paternity prelimited tests right now, yeah, because they do
- 19:18Speaker 1: little stuff. Look at the knuckles on her finger, nothing
- 19:24Speaker 1: like look at that baby. No, that ain't your baby? Yeah,
- 19:29Speaker 1: tell you right away. Well I like that, Steve, you said,
- 19:32Speaker 1: just keep it one hundred half a conversation with her, right,
- 19:35Speaker 1: tell her troubling you? Yeah? The baby. You just gotta
- 19:39Speaker 1: know for sure, because that's bugging you. M M. There
- 19:44Speaker 1: you go. All right, Rock and queens, there is your answer.
- 19:47Speaker 1: All right, quickly one minute. Linda Mattery, Louisiana. All right.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I am thirty nine years old and I am in
- 19:53Speaker 1: love with a fifty four year old married man. We
- 19:55Speaker 1: have four children together. After I had each child, he
- 19:59Speaker 1: promised to leave his wife. He's a truck driver. I
- 20:02Speaker 1: used to go on long hauls with him, but not anymore.
- 20:05Speaker 1: How can he say he loves me and have four
- 20:08Speaker 1: kids with me but still be married to hurt. We
- 20:11Speaker 1: didn't plan to have the kids, but he promised to
- 20:13Speaker 1: be with us. He doesn't have any kids with his wife,
- 20:15Speaker 1: but he says he needs more time. How much time
- 20:17Speaker 1: should I give him? Do you think he will ever
- 20:19Speaker 1: leave his wife to be with me? Babies by married man?
- 20:26Speaker 1: Now you have four babies by married man, and each
- 20:29Speaker 1: time he gonna leave his wife and each time he didn't.
- 20:32Speaker 1: How many times does a man have to tell you
- 20:35Speaker 1: he don't want you before you believe him? Whoa, my god,

- 25:28Speaker 1: hold hold on, brother, hold up, uh man, I didn't
- 25:32Speaker 1: sign on for nothing like this, man. I mean, I'm
- 25:34Speaker 1: I'm thinking you guys are supposed to be helping me
- 25:36Speaker 1: with the up to day job. I mean, slavery don't
- 25:39Speaker 1: even exist, no, moore, man, I mean, I mean we
- 25:43Speaker 1: are going to pay you, you understand, but we do

- 27:08Speaker 1: not looking for that kind of work, dude. I mean
- 27:10Speaker 1: you calling my phone telling me about some slave works

- 27:29Speaker 1: hang on, you're gonna get your butt out there and
- 27:31Speaker 1: you're gonna do with you just ain't getting my black. Well,
- 27:34Speaker 1: you know what. I will be there and putting my down.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Can I can I say one more thing? Please? What
- 27:39Speaker 1: what the else you gotta say? Man? You didn't say

- 27:45Speaker 1: nephew Tommy from Steve Harvey Morning Show. Your wife Katrine
- 27:48Speaker 1: or gotten me to brank phone call you? You? What
- 27:53Speaker 1: the who will you? This is nephew Tommy Man from
- 27:58Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. This man, I can't believe
- 28:01Speaker 1: she did did like that? Man? And she know I'm
- 28:04Speaker 1: looking for Yeah, Man, I bet you won't be saying

- 29:15Speaker 1: you're listening and today's tell me something good segments. Here
- 29:23Speaker 1: is some great news. It's not just good news as
- 29:26Speaker 1: great news. Steve, tell us about your Harvey Foundation virtual
- 29:31Speaker 1: mentoring session on mentoring Monday's Today is Tuesday. Yesterday, we
- 29:36Speaker 1: saw a young man who wanted to be an actor,
- 29:39Speaker 1: and he told you his favorite TV show was Chicago PD.
- 29:44Speaker 1: And you surprised him with one of the stars from
- 29:48Speaker 1: the show Chicago PD, actor Leroyce Hawkins. He joined in
- 29:53Speaker 1: on a mentoring session. It was so cool. Take a listen.
- 29:57Speaker 1: What's your favorite TV show? My favorite on TV show
- 30:01Speaker 1: is Chicago PDD. Are we doing's? What's up? Man? Are
- 30:06Speaker 1: we doing? Big bro? Everything? All right? Yeah? What's up?
- 30:09Speaker 1: SOLDI I can't complaining, Mark Quay, what's up, big brother?
- 30:15Speaker 1: I want to be actor myself. You wanna be active? Yes, sir,
- 30:19Speaker 1: you look like an actor to me. Hey, hawk Is man,
- 30:22Speaker 1: what would you say to him as a young man
- 30:25Speaker 1: that such, it's time to get into the field you
- 30:27Speaker 1: in man, Mark Quay. The first thing I want to
- 30:29Speaker 1: tell you is that your faith has to be stronger
- 30:32Speaker 1: than your feelings. And you know this, big brow. They
- 30:34Speaker 1: tell you that you don't got it, and you know
- 30:36Speaker 1: that you were born with it, but your faith is
- 30:38Speaker 1: was going to continue to allow you to keep trying
- 30:40Speaker 1: each and every day and make sure that you're going
- 30:42Speaker 1: to those roles and that you're studying the craft that
- 30:44Speaker 1: you're that you're gonna make sure those dreams come true
- 30:46Speaker 1: no matter what. I like that. I like that. Oh,
- 30:50Speaker 1: your whole interview is really really powerful because a little
- 30:53Speaker 1: boy had no idea. I just want to thank so
- 30:56Speaker 1: many of the people man, when I when they when
- 31:00Speaker 1: we get them on the phone and say can you
- 31:02Speaker 1: help us with this? That they don't hesitate. Man, I've
- 31:05Speaker 1: heard Ray Lewis do it for me. You know. It's
- 31:08Speaker 1: just really really amazing man. And so it's a good show.
- 31:13Speaker 1: What Chicago PD is a great show man, Yeah, never
- 31:18Speaker 1: seen it? Probably is. I know, I know, I got
- 31:21Speaker 1: time to watch it. Now you can watch you can
- 31:26Speaker 1: get caught up if you won't. I got time to
- 31:29Speaker 1: watch everything. But this, this mentoring Mondays is really really,
- 31:33Speaker 1: really really helpful in a lot of ways. And even
- 31:37Speaker 1: for me, Um, I love that God has placed me
- 31:41Speaker 1: in a position to understand, m how important it is
- 31:46Speaker 1: to give back, to to share information with people, especially
- 31:52Speaker 1: young boys. Man in the African American community. They need it. Man,
- 31:57Speaker 1: when you don't have a father. Man, it's rough, it's
- 32:00Speaker 1: and so it's just been a great thing, man, and
- 32:02Speaker 1: it's really taking off. It's gone viral a lot of
- 32:05Speaker 1: the clips, and so what it does even more so,
- 32:07Speaker 1: it helps young people who watch it. You know, it
- 32:10Speaker 1: may not be there for the live version of it,
- 32:13Speaker 1: but the people who get it when it goes viol
- 32:15Speaker 1: is helping a lot of people. So really proud of that,
- 32:18Speaker 1: you know what. I watch it, Steve, and you just
- 32:22Speaker 1: it makes you want to keep watching it and watch more.
- 32:25Speaker 1: It is just so cool to see you mentoring and
- 32:29Speaker 1: giving back. And they watch these young men, their reactions,
- 32:32Speaker 1: they're so grateful and so appreciative, but you know it's
- 32:36Speaker 1: not hard. Look, I don't know more about manhood than
- 32:40Speaker 1: any other grown man, but you do know more about
- 32:44Speaker 1: manhood than a fourteen year old boy or a seventeen
- 32:48Speaker 1: year old boy. And if you just take the time
- 32:51Speaker 1: out to share what you know with the young man,
- 32:54Speaker 1: he'll sit their eyes wide open because he trying to
- 32:56Speaker 1: figure it out. Man, and we need just men to
- 32:59Speaker 1: do it. Like I'm an expert on manhood, but so
- 33:03Speaker 1: is every other grown man. You know, I ain't got
- 33:05Speaker 1: no lock on manhood. Right today, you have at Steve,
- 33:08Speaker 1: and you're saying you don't have to be famous or
- 33:10Speaker 1: celebrity to mentor Yeah, let's get to work all right,
- 33:14Speaker 1: Time for today's ear. Come on, we gotta switch again.
- 33:19Speaker 1: It's come on Steve. Ladies and gentlemen, miss an trip.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Thank you very much everybody, and good morning. This is
- 33:25Speaker 1: and trip with the news. The Ascendate Committee is scheduled
- 33:29Speaker 1: to hear arguments on whether it's safe for America to reopen.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Yet it's apparently not safe enough for the witnesses to
- 33:35Speaker 1: actually be there in the flesh. That's the funny part.
- 33:37Speaker 1: In fact, all four members of the White House Corona
- 33:40Speaker 1: Task Force is going to be they're going to be
- 33:41Speaker 1: taking part in the hearings remotely. They can't go in
- 33:44Speaker 1: the flesh. There'll be three of them as self quarantined
- 33:47Speaker 1: after becoming in contact with contaminated people. And the fourth
- 33:50Speaker 1: person is actually the chairman of the committee GOP Senator
- 33:54Speaker 1: Lamar X Alexander. He's going to be hosting the hearing
- 33:57Speaker 1: from home because he says that a member of his
- 33:59Speaker 1: staff is tested positive, and Senator Alexander tells NBC's Meet
- 34:03Speaker 1: the Press that he'd rather know that the people around
- 34:05Speaker 1: him have been thoroughly tested. If you take a test
- 34:08Speaker 1: and you know that you don't have COVID nineteen, and
- 34:11Speaker 1: you know that everybody around you took a test that
- 34:13Speaker 1: same day, you're going to have enough confidence to go
- 34:16Speaker 1: back to work and back to school. President Trump insists
- 34:18Speaker 1: that all the testing just makes America look bad. Donald Trump,
- 34:21Speaker 1: by the way, resisting pressure from congressional Democrats to sign
- 34:25Speaker 1: onto another coronavirus relief package, saying that the country needs
- 34:28Speaker 1: to wait and see first what the results of the
- 34:31Speaker 1: trillions already in circulation by way of previous stimulus packages do.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Even though the latest unemployment figures are the highest they've
- 34:38Speaker 1: been since the Great Depression. Trump predicts that when it's
- 34:41Speaker 1: all over, the economy will spring back web very strongly.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Some thirty governors have asked the Trump administration to provide
- 34:48Speaker 1: funded legal services for those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. However,
- 34:52Speaker 1: so far to no avail. The Federal Emergency Management Agency,
- 34:56Speaker 1: or FEMA, usually provides a disaster legal service as apparently
- 35:00Speaker 1: hotlines anyway for people to call for hurricanes, wildfires, floods, earthquakes,
- 35:04Speaker 1: you know, people who need two advice as to how
- 35:07Speaker 1: to fill out paperwork how to apply for certain assistance.
- 35:10Speaker 1: But despite their request, the president has not approved those
- 35:13Speaker 1: services for pandemic victims, and legal groups around the country
- 35:16Speaker 1: say there's an enormous need for legal help right now.
- 35:20Speaker 1: The Georgia Attorney General's office has appointed yet another prosecutor
- 35:23Speaker 1: to take over the Amada arbery case. Cobb County District
- 35:26Speaker 1: Attorney joy Yet Holmes is to lead the probe into
- 35:29Speaker 1: the murder of twenty five year old of the twenty
- 35:32Speaker 1: five year old black man shot to death about three
- 35:34Speaker 1: blocks away from his home in Brunswick, Georgia while jogging.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Da Holmes is the first black woman to serve in
- 35:39Speaker 1: that position. Meanwhile, the state Attorney General is pledging to
- 35:43Speaker 1: investigate the handling of Arbery's murder, while the furious public
- 35:46Speaker 1: demands action against the two local law officials who ignored
- 35:50Speaker 1: the case and sat on it for two months without
- 35:52Speaker 1: bringing any charges, especially the local DA who accepted the
- 35:56Speaker 1: two white men's claims that it was in self defense
- 35:58Speaker 1: when the video shows the opposite. Today, Instant fatigued, you
- 36:02Speaker 1: know what that means, Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to
- 36:06Speaker 1: Steven Show. Well, guys, what is going on with Mike
- 36:12Speaker 1: Tyson his box video? I send it to y'all. Okay,
- 36:22Speaker 1: So what's going on? He's made my date? Okay. Mike
- 36:27Speaker 1: Tyson is fifty three years old. Their band, or Holy Field,
- 36:31Speaker 1: are both making their comeback. They're interested in getting back
- 36:34Speaker 1: in the ring to raise money for charities through exhibition fights.
- 36:38Speaker 1: But y'all go, Steve used to box this on y'all, fellas,
- 36:42Speaker 1: let me ask this, junior. Are they talking about fighting
- 36:45Speaker 1: each other? Now? I think they're just coming back. They're
- 36:49Speaker 1: just coming back, Okay, Okay. I don't want to see
- 36:51Speaker 1: him fight each other. I'd rather go see him fight
- 36:53Speaker 1: somebody else. I want him go get in there with
- 36:55Speaker 1: Deonte Wild. I won't see that right there. All that
- 36:59Speaker 1: No Deonte was talking about told you I'm back. But Julia,
- 37:03Speaker 1: we need about four five fight before we get I
- 37:05Speaker 1: think we need a few before we get to bed.
- 37:08Speaker 1: You don't think so. Mike is cold. Man, I'm on
- 37:12Speaker 1: Mike's side. I'm putting all my money on Mike. I'm
- 37:14Speaker 1: with Mike for show. But now listen to me. Listen,
- 37:17Speaker 1: I love us, Listen to me. Listenifty three, man, you
- 37:20Speaker 1: need a couple more fights now. It don't matter. Your
- 37:23Speaker 1: hands just ain't what they was at fifty three. See
- 37:26Speaker 1: that video. He out standing in that video. But twenty
- 37:31Speaker 1: years ago, Oh he was brotal. Oh Jesus he was brotal. Oh.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I think he still has the same strength. You need
- 37:40Speaker 1: two things. Your fast twitch muscle cannot be the same. Mike,
- 37:45Speaker 1: fifty three, you be fifty three next week? What about
- 37:48Speaker 1: you is the same as it was when it was
- 37:50Speaker 1: twenty three? What? Nothing? Just nothing gone? Yeah, yeah, you're
- 37:57Speaker 1: fast muscle, Junior, say you're gone. That was obvious from
- 38:02Speaker 1: the race. Yeah no, no, But let me tell you something.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Timmy was running in that race, Tommy looked good form
- 38:09Speaker 1: and everything warm and everything. But I tried to tell
- 38:12Speaker 1: Tommy Junior was in his thirties. I said, Tommy, I
- 38:16Speaker 1: kept saying, his fast twitch muscles in the thirties, yours
- 38:21Speaker 1: in the fifties. Yeah, it's different. Hey, man, let me
- 38:24Speaker 1: tell you something. I was on traid meal the other
- 38:26Speaker 1: day and I put the traid meal up to the
- 38:29Speaker 1: ten speed and I struck out for about fifteen seconds
- 38:33Speaker 1: at ten. I said, whoa, I'm rolling. I looked at
- 38:37Speaker 1: the video. I said, damn, what it was. I wasn't
- 38:42Speaker 1: fast at all. But but but in my in my oh,
- 38:52Speaker 1: when they see this tape Steve Harvey running at ten
- 38:55Speaker 1: miles an hour. Man, I played that tape back. I went, damn,
- 38:59Speaker 1: I didn't look Michael Fold All right, Well, we're gonna
- 39:04Speaker 1: be watching Mike time. Baby. I got my money on Mike. Though,
- 39:08Speaker 1: I got my money on Mike. I love his spirit. Man.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Uh huh, all right, we're gonna switch gears real quick.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Coming up at thirty four after the hour, Georgia's Attorney
- 39:18Speaker 1: General has named a new prosecutor in the Ahmad Aubrey case.
- 39:22Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about it right after this you're listening
- 39:26Speaker 1: to show. The fatal shooting of twenty five year old
- 39:31Speaker 1: Ahmad Aubrey has caused national outrage and the suspects, sixty
- 39:38Speaker 1: four year old Greg McMichael and his thirty four year
- 39:40Speaker 1: old son, Travis McMichael, were rested on May seventh and
- 39:43Speaker 1: faced charges of murder and aggravated assault. Now, this is
- 39:49Speaker 1: this is difficult to hear. And according to TMZ, the
- 39:52Speaker 1: autopsy revealed that mister Aubrey was killed by multiple gunshot wounds,
- 39:58Speaker 1: two close range to his chest and one graze his
- 40:03Speaker 1: right wrist and the corner note that the manner of
- 40:07Speaker 1: death was murder. The test also showed that mister Aubrey
- 40:11Speaker 1: had no drugs or alcohol in his system. Georgia's Attorney General,
- 40:16Speaker 1: Chris Chris Carr, has appointed Cobb County District Attorney Joette
- 40:21Speaker 1: Holmes to take over the case. Now. In a statement,
- 40:24Speaker 1: the Attorney General said that District Attorney Holmes office has
- 40:28Speaker 1: the resources and personnel and experience to lead this prosecution
- 40:34Speaker 1: and ensure justice is done. Also, their reports we were
- 40:38Speaker 1: talking about this earlier before we even got on the air,
- 40:40Speaker 1: that the federal officials are weighing in and the possibility
- 40:43Speaker 1: of including federal Hate Crime Charger Steve. This has to
- 40:48Speaker 1: be this way, yes, and I'm very happy with First
- 40:53Speaker 1: of all, Don Lemon jumped on this seeing it, but
- 40:56Speaker 1: his buddy Chris, Chris Cuomo, yeah, is in full mold man. Yes.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Now I haven't I haven't gone over to see what
- 41:06Speaker 1: Fox is saying about this, but they have a tendency
- 41:10Speaker 1: and I don't know because I haven't seen it yet,
- 41:12Speaker 1: So just let me say this, but they have a
- 41:14Speaker 1: tendency not to report stuff like this. They just have
- 41:18Speaker 1: a tendency. And I'm not talking about it at all,
- 41:22Speaker 1: and it's a huge story, but I don't know if
- 41:25Speaker 1: they're I don't know if they're not reporting it but
- 41:28Speaker 1: attacking the people as murderers. Have you heard any different, Carlor?
- 41:33Speaker 1: I did. I think I heard that Aurbrey's mother was
- 41:38Speaker 1: on Fox News yesterday. I do believe that. I'm going
- 41:41Speaker 1: to research that more because I didn't see it, but
- 41:43Speaker 1: I think I did hear that. So I need, I
- 41:46Speaker 1: need everybody in America. And I'm not I'm not demanding it.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I'm asking it to be as appalled about this as
- 41:55Speaker 1: you would if it was your child. Until we get
- 41:58Speaker 1: all the hate crime units involved. The Jewish Defense leave
- 42:02Speaker 1: the ACLU until we come to each other's aid, because
- 42:07Speaker 1: in order to stop hate crimes, they got to know
- 42:09Speaker 1: that we have a massive affront against hate crimes. This
- 42:14Speaker 1: is a hate crime. This is racism bigotry at its
- 42:18Speaker 1: highest level. So if the Jewish Defense League could go,
- 42:21Speaker 1: you know what, this is crazy, We're gonna go down
- 42:24Speaker 1: here and help them. Because what has never worked in
- 42:27Speaker 1: the past is when black people protest about this, it
- 42:32Speaker 1: doesn't work. Colin Kamperdick was on his knees for this
- 42:37Speaker 1: very thing right here, and look how they flipped it around. Yeah,
- 42:42Speaker 1: this is white just have to we have to have
- 42:45Speaker 1: whites get involved here to make this work. And so
- 42:48Speaker 1: I'm good when I see new to see. I want
- 42:50Speaker 1: to know what the Washington Post is doing about this,
- 42:54Speaker 1: What the New York Times is doing about this? What
- 42:56Speaker 1: is Fox doing about this? Because what is the Day Show?
- 43:00Speaker 1: What is Good Morning America doing about this? Because this
- 43:04Speaker 1: has to be an outcry for the nation to stop this.
- 43:09Speaker 1: This is supposed to be America. Yeah, Land of the Free,
- 43:13Speaker 1: Home of the brave. They fight for these constitutions, the
- 43:18Speaker 1: Fifth Amendment, the Second Amendment, but what about the one
- 43:22Speaker 1: that says we all have the inaliable right to the
- 43:26Speaker 1: pursuit of happiness. And if your happiness it's going for
- 43:29Speaker 1: a jog that day, you shouldn't have to be killed.
- 43:33Speaker 1: If your joy for that day is playing music a
- 43:36Speaker 1: little bit loud, you shouldn't have to die that day.
- 43:40Speaker 1: If your joy that day is talking on your cell phone,
- 43:44Speaker 1: you shouldn't have to die that day. If you just
- 43:47Speaker 1: on the streets selling some cigarettes, you shouldn't have to
- 43:51Speaker 1: die that day. And America has to be appalled at this.
- 43:56Speaker 1: There was a white gown TikTok that was really upset.
- 44:00Speaker 1: But we need more of that in order to fix
- 44:04Speaker 1: this problem that we have. And this is a prime
- 44:07Speaker 1: example to really get started down that road. All right,
- 44:10Speaker 1: we can't let up. That's exactly right, Steve, coming up next,
- 44:14Speaker 1: we're gonna switch gears a little bit. Nephew is here.
- 44:16Speaker 1: He has a prank phone call for us to give
- 44:18Speaker 1: us a laughter. Yeah, lighten us up. We'll do it
- 44:21Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to show coming up at
- 44:27Speaker 1: the top of the hour, right about four minutes after
- 44:29Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter. The subject is my wife is trying
- 44:34Speaker 1: to compete with my mother. Now, Shirley is out today
- 44:39Speaker 1: and Steve will read the letter and we'll take it
- 44:43Speaker 1: from there. But right now it's time for the nephew.
- 44:45Speaker 1: He is here with today's prank phone call. What you
- 44:48Speaker 1: got next? Let's get on in it baby, six to
- 44:51Speaker 1: ten and before I found real simple, let's run it? Okay?
- 44:55Speaker 1: So what right here? Hello? Alon? I'm trying speak your Latrenda? Please,
- 45:01Speaker 1: this is Latrenda. Who is this? Can you work at
- 45:05Speaker 1: the same with SAP? Yes? I do? Who is this? Okay?
- 45:08Speaker 1: Was you there? Did you work last Wednesday? Like from
- 45:11Speaker 1: six to I guess six to close? Yeah? I work
- 45:14Speaker 1: every Wednesday? Yeah? Who who is this? Hey? My name
- 45:17Speaker 1: is Ralph and I basically, uh, you know, looked around
- 45:22Speaker 1: to try and get your phone numb. I got a
- 45:23Speaker 1: bit of a complaint. Rout wait wait wait wait wait
- 45:26Speaker 1: you calling me with a complaint on my cell phone?
- 45:29Speaker 1: Who gave you my number? I've done the research to
- 45:31Speaker 1: get your number, man, And what I'm calling you about is,
- 45:33Speaker 1: while I was in there at getting a sandwich and eating,
- 45:36Speaker 1: I'm realizing that you came out of the bathroom without
- 45:39Speaker 1: washing your hands, and which first of all, you need
- 45:42Speaker 1: to be calling the corporate headquarters if you got a complaint,
- 45:45Speaker 1: or you call that eight hundred number on the back
- 45:46Speaker 1: of your receipt. Don't be calling my cell phone. Whoever
- 45:49Speaker 1: gave your gave you myself on I'm a whoop day. Hey, listen, listen.
- 45:53Speaker 1: The problem is is that you're coming out not washing
- 45:55Speaker 1: your hands. No, No, the problem I don't never come
- 45:57Speaker 1: out and not wash my hands. First of all, I'm working.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I've been working there for three years. Okay, I'll be
- 46:03Speaker 1: coming to me with no books that I hadn't came
- 46:05Speaker 1: out and I washed my hand. I guess you ain't
- 46:07Speaker 1: been washing your hands for no three years and you
- 46:10Speaker 1: you're coming out, you know, unsanitizing this way you're treating people.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Don't First of all, don't be calling my phone talking
- 46:17Speaker 1: behind it. I ain't washed my hands, like I said.
- 46:20Speaker 1: I've been there three years. I've been employer of the
- 46:22Speaker 1: month six times. Don't be coming to me with a
- 46:24Speaker 1: none of this book. I don't like how you employ
- 46:26Speaker 1: the money. You must be the nasty employer of the
- 46:28Speaker 1: month because you're coming out you're not washing your head.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I saw you scratch your head there and you ain't
- 46:34Speaker 1: putting on. I always for gloves on my hand. You

- 54:11Speaker 1: let's go. Buckle up, hold on tight. We got it
- 54:13Speaker 1: for you. Here it is letter. I just let you
- 54:17Speaker 1: do it today because oh it's okay. Probably ain't gonna
- 54:23Speaker 1: let it go down to Mortel. Subject. My wife is
- 54:27Speaker 1: trying to compete with my mother. Dear Stephen, Shirley, I'm
- 54:32Speaker 1: a forty eight year old married man, and I'm tired
- 54:34Speaker 1: of having the same fight with my wife every year
- 54:38Speaker 1: on Mother's Day weekend. I'm truly blessed to have my
- 54:42Speaker 1: mom and both of my grandmother's steal alive. So every
- 54:46Speaker 1: Mother's Day I drive for three hours each way so
- 54:50Speaker 1: I can spend the day with them. And each year
- 54:52Speaker 1: my wife gets upset with me because she says I
- 54:55Speaker 1: suspend the day with her. My wife and I don't
- 54:58Speaker 1: have any children together, but she has two grown children
- 55:02Speaker 1: from a previous marriage that since we've been married, my
- 55:06Speaker 1: wife has dinner with her own mother for Mother's Day,
- 55:09Speaker 1: and I never complained I think it's great this year,
- 55:13Speaker 1: just like every year, I got my wife some flowers,
- 55:16Speaker 1: a card, gave her some cash for Mother's Day. I
- 55:19Speaker 1: put some steaks on the grill. We had a nice
- 55:21Speaker 1: romantic dinner on Saturday night. The next morning, on Mother's Day,
- 55:25Speaker 1: I got up early, hit the highway. I got home
- 55:28Speaker 1: Sunday night round eight pm, and my wife had a
- 55:31Speaker 1: big attitude with me. She told me that I'm a
- 55:34Speaker 1: mama's boy. Oh, and maybe I should go live with
- 55:39Speaker 1: my mama. She asked why I prefer to spend Mother's
- 55:43Speaker 1: Day with my mom and grandmother's instead of spending the
- 55:45Speaker 1: day with her, And I told her, because you are
- 55:48Speaker 1: not my mama. Come on, tom and my mom and
- 55:53Speaker 1: I don't understand why this hurts her feelings so much.
- 55:57Speaker 1: My wife and my mom are really close and they
- 55:59Speaker 1: talks several times a week, so I don't see what
- 56:01Speaker 1: the problem is. I honestly do not think that my
- 56:04Speaker 1: wife she'd expect me to go all out for her
- 56:06Speaker 1: old Mother's Day. I go all out and spoil her
- 56:09Speaker 1: for her birthday, I anniversary and other special days, but
- 56:12Speaker 1: Mother's Day is not her day. Brother, Steve, am I
- 56:16Speaker 1: wrong about this? Please? Hit Carlin. All right, Steve, you
- 56:22Speaker 1: know you're a forty year year old married man. You're
- 56:24Speaker 1: and your wife, y'all are so fortunate and blessed to
- 56:27Speaker 1: still have both your moms, and you have both your
- 56:31Speaker 1: grandmothers still living. They got the good jeans. That's a blessing. Anyway.
- 56:35Speaker 1: Every year for Mother's Day, you and your wife, you
- 56:37Speaker 1: both celebrate Mother's Day with your mom's and you drive
- 56:41Speaker 1: three hours away to go see your mom and grandma
- 56:44Speaker 1: to celebrate. But on the day before, you celebrate Mother's
- 56:47Speaker 1: Day with your wife. Now, listen, we all want to
- 56:51Speaker 1: be celebrated when it's our day. So in her mind,
- 56:55Speaker 1: her husband doesn't celebrate the actual Mother's Day with her,
- 57:00Speaker 1: so she is just jealous. That's it. You guys, argue
- 57:05Speaker 1: about it. You tell her that's my mom. She tells
- 57:08Speaker 1: you you're a mama's boy. But marriage is about compromise.
- 57:13Speaker 1: So since your wife and your mom they talk on
- 57:15Speaker 1: the phone, they're cool. Why can't y'all have one big
- 57:19Speaker 1: Mother's Day celebration. I don't know. Why can't your wife
- 57:22Speaker 1: drive down and celebrate with your mom and grandmother's. But
- 57:25Speaker 1: then that she may be thinking, my mom doesn't want
- 57:28Speaker 1: to do all that. So how about this, y'all rotate,
- 57:31Speaker 1: rotate Saturdays and Sundays. So like you did this year,
- 57:35Speaker 1: you did Saturday with your wife and then she was
- 57:37Speaker 1: with her mom on Sunday and you were with your
- 57:40Speaker 1: mom and grandma and am on Sunday. Then next year
- 57:43Speaker 1: on Saturday, you drive down celebrate with your mom and
- 57:47Speaker 1: grandmother's and then they'll understand that you're going to actually
- 57:51Speaker 1: spend Mother's Day with your wife and mother in law.
- 57:54Speaker 1: On Mother's Day, y'all gotta compromise, because, take it from
- 57:58Speaker 1: somebody who's mom and grandmother us have passed away, Mother's
- 58:02Speaker 1: Day can be hard. It can be a very painful day.
- 58:05Speaker 1: Life is short. Y'all got to stop arguing about this
- 58:08Speaker 1: and compromise and come together. And that's my answer. Steve, Well,
- 58:14Speaker 1: I agree with what carl is saying, but a little
- 58:17Speaker 1: bit in a little bit different way. Carla has a
- 58:20Speaker 1: great answer for you. But I'm gonna speak from the
- 58:26Speaker 1: male perspective too. I think eventually, what's gonna have to
- 58:31Speaker 1: happen if your wife doesn't see this is you're gonna
- 58:33Speaker 1: have to go to route Carlinson. But here's the deal.
- 58:37Speaker 1: You got your mom and both your grandmother still laugh.
- 58:41Speaker 1: You don't have any idea how red that is, that's
- 58:44Speaker 1: very any idea, how rare this is. So every Mother's
- 58:50Speaker 1: Day you get in your car, you drive and you
- 58:51Speaker 1: spend time with him, and then your wife upset with
- 58:55Speaker 1: you because she say you ought to spend a day
- 58:57Speaker 1: with her. Now here's the part. Your wife and you
- 59:02Speaker 1: don't have any children together, so she's not the mother
- 59:08Speaker 1: of your children. Would see you gotta you gotta feel
- 59:13Speaker 1: to that end, y'all, you're not the mother. I've got
- 59:17Speaker 1: that you a mother, but you from two kids from
- 59:19Speaker 1: a previous marriage and they grown. And since you've been married.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Your wife has dinner with her own mother every Mother's Day.
- 59:31Speaker 1: And I never complained. Every Mother's Day she with her mother.
- 59:37Speaker 1: I think it's great. But this year, like every year,
- 59:40Speaker 1: I got my wife some flowers, car gave her some
- 59:42Speaker 1: cash from Mother's Day, put the stakes on the grillwa
- 59:44Speaker 1: had a night from man to dinner Saturday night. Next
- 59:47Speaker 1: morning on Mother's Day, I got up early, I hit
- 59:49Speaker 1: the highway. I get home a PM. My wife had
- 59:52Speaker 1: a big attitude with me, and then she told the man,
- 59:55Speaker 1: you're a mama's boy, and maybe you should go live
- 59:58Speaker 1: with your MoMA. That right there, that's that's called unfair fighting.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: That's called unfair fighting. Why is he a mama's boy
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: because he get up and drive three hours to go
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: see his mother and both his grandmothers when you get
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: up and have dinner, which show mother every Mother's day
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: and probably your two kids. But this man can't go
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: see the woman that bought him in this world. I'll
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: be back all right, well, Steve will be back at
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour, part two of his response
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Today's Strawberry Letter. You're listening, all right, Steve. Let's recap
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter. My wife is trying to compete with
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: my mother's for the year old man married to his wife,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: and every Mother's Day they get in an argument. Now,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: this man's mom is still living and both of his grandmother's,
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: so every Mother's Day he get in car and he
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: drive three hours each way so he can spend the
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: day with them. And every year his wife get upset
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: because she says he should spend the day with her.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: Now here's the piece in this letter that fixes it
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: for me. Him and his wife don't have any children together,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: but she got two grown children from a previous marriage,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: and CeCe won't been married. Every year his wife has
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: dinner with her own mother for Mother's Day, and I
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: never complained. I think it's great. Well this year, like
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: every year, I got my wife some flowers and cars,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: gave him some cash on Mother's Day, put some stakes
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: on a grill Saturday night, on romantic dinner. The next morning,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: I got up and hit the highway. He get home
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: on Sunday night. A PM wife got a big attitude
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: with him, told me that he is a mama's boy,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: and maybe I should go live with my mama. Why
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: the man is trying to honor his mother who bought
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: him in this world. See, if you're a man and
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: you have your mama no more. Come on, if you're
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: a woman and ain't got your mama no more? You you,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: you don't know what that is, because she, lady, you
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: still got your mother telling you. But Mother's Day get
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: real rough round here, yes, sir, when she gonne Father's Day,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: get real rough round here. See you, you you don't
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: know but to dog him out for going to pay
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: homage to his mother who brought him in the world
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: and the woman who bought her in the world. But
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: while you're sitting at the house having dinner with your mama,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: come on, you having dinner with your mama. And then
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: you're mad at him because so you won't at all.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: You want your mama, your husband, your kids. He can't
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: get his mama. Y'all. Ain't got no kids. He can't
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: say nothing to his grandmama. Oh, lady, you trip it. See,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: that's why I ain't with no compromise, to compromise. It's
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: one day a year. That's the compromise. He got both
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: his grandmama's and he got a mama, and he trying
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: to show some love to them one day a year.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: He said in the letter. You get spoiled on your birthday,
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: your anniversary, in any other special day, but Mother's Day
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: is not your day. You did you ain't gay this
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: man no children, It's okay. The compromise is you get
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: your mother every year. That's the compromise. He don't never
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: stop that, But he can't go see his You can
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: have yours, but he can't have his. That's unfair. That's unfair.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: And then your wife, you're really close to his mother.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: They talked several times a week so you don't see
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: what the problem is. You can talk to it, but
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: you don't want to give a no day? Yeah, why
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: his mother can't have a day. I don't understand what's
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: up with you? She's jealous herself. Yeah, and Carlin's right,
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: this jealousy. No, it's selfishness. Yeah, you won't it all.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: You don't want to compromise one day to let this
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: man go see his mom and grandmama while they still here.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: He gonna lose them one day. Oh my god, oh
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: my good dear, what you're gonna do? How hard you
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: gonna be crying at the funeral? Acting a fool stuff over? Yes? See,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: sonn So I don't see the problem. I honestly do
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: not think my wife should expect me to go all
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: out for her on Mother's Day. He giving you the
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: day before to honor you as a mother. You all
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: don't have any children today, but you want to stop
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: this man from loving the one woman that gave him life,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: which so good? Gave him life? Man? Are you kidding me?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: And you can't give her that day? You get Christmas,
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: you get all other special holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, and you
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: want Mother's Day too, you're selfish, lady. Come on now,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: how you can't let this man do this? Because let
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: me ask you something, God forbid the day come when
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: he lose his mother, or the day come grandmama. Let
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: me tell you something. And let's say you talk him
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: out of that Mother's Day and he don't get over
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: there and then she gone. That said Steve, he'll never forgive.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. You think he's gone. Now
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: you're looking at some man that might not forgive you
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: for that. Yeah, because that's a stronger. And how you
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: as a woman can't under who have two children, cannot
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: understand how his mother may feel. Yeah, the man all
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: he trying to do. He ain't dogging you on Mother's Day.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: He's just going to make three older women feel special.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: If he forty eight. I don't know how his mommy is,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: but his grandmoma and him they old. They left. Yeah,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: three hours that's anybody anybody coming down here to sit
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: around you and your mama just look for you last night.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Damn you just selfish? You downright selfish. And I don't
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: get it. Man, And brother Steve, am I wrong about this? Na? Man?
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: You ain't wrong on this one. Your wife has to
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: be a little bit more understanding. I fits a god
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: my mama. You do your mama. I just cook for
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: you last night, than bought you some stuff. We hadn't
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: made love. I didn't cooked out on the grid. I
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: didn't gave you some money. What is wrong with you?
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Do your mamma? Do my mom the problem? Are you
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: trying to out mama me? That's what mamma? Me? Do
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: your mamma. Do my mamma and my grandmama. I'm gonna
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: do them. Yeah, he ain't a mama's boy. He loved her,
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: That's right. Thank you. Punch your comments on Today's Strawberry

- 1:07:29Speaker 1: ain't something that makes your heart beat faster? I'm God? Huh,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I'm God. I'm God. I'm I'm I'm God. I'm gone.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: You got a angry I ain't got I'm angry. Oh,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: I'm God? Man, man, hey, man, my my African brothers. See,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: I have an accent over there. Everybody understands what each
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: other saying. I'd be I'd be just a fish out
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: of water sometimes. Man, he said, I'm God. Now I'm
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: trying to figure out I got so I'm repeating it
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: to see what it sounds like. Nothing I could come
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: on on, god, yeah, I got Who is she? So?
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: I thought that was like an African woman named like
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Aga Subili or some fine chick or something like that.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: You know, I didn't know who it was. I was
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: trying to work it out. I've never seen as a
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: model of Yeah, I got sable. I've never seen her.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: She make your heart beat fast, I'd boy. When he
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: straightened out and said, ain'ty oh, hold on dog, you
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: saying anger? Yeah, man, you ought to see this clip, bro, man,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: let me tell you something. No, it's actually funnier because
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: it's so many funny moments on Family Feud. The question
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: was name something that can ruin a wedding. The guy says,
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: no pasta, and I said, well, damn dog, no pasta.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: You know y'all in Africa, yet the wise pasta so important.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: And then the lady in the crowd said, Steve, he
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: means the priest. I said, pastor dog? He said, no pasta,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: not a dog. Y'all cain't got no chicken or nothing.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: Now you ain't got the cake. I understand y'all, lall
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: out of chicken, y'all out of beef. But if you're
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: out of pasta, that was a hell of one. So
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: go to YouTube you all in check out Family Feud
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Africa and just sit around and enjoy it while you
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: locked up. There's some funny moments on that show. Man.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Thank y'all for watching. All right, Steve, coming up at
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: the pop or we're gonna go if you're gonna have
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: some anger when I tell you about this? What's up
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: with the president and the Vice president? COVID nineteen rules
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: the leadership in Washington. Do as I say, not as
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: I do. We'll talk about it at the top. You're
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: listening to show the US coronavirus death told passes eighty thousand.
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: That is, it's horrific, unbelievable, the most reported deaths of
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: any country in the world and most states. We are
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: now moving towards, you know, reopening now. The coronavirus has
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: arrived at the White House and the White House is
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: taking extra safety precautions in the West wing after two
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: staffers tested positive for coronavirus. The West Wing will also
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: undergo a deep cleaning every day. But you know, it's
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: just like Whioby Goldberg said on the View the other day.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: She said, if the White House can't figure around how
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: to keep the coronavirus out of the workplace, how can
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: they tell everybody, the president to go back to work.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: So you know, guys, what's going on. The President went
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: off yesterday on an Asian American reporter at the press conference,
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: and I just don't understand do as I say, not
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: as I do. He won't work mass social distancing. Y'all
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: not understand this every day what we talked about this
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: day day. How can we understand him? We got him now,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: but four years he ain't changing. He is consistent. He
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: is the worst possible person that you can have in
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: that White House. I just think he's the worst. I
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: just think that we have a person who has never
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: been in the service business of anyone but himself. Yeah,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: and when you're a national leader, you have to be
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: in the service of people. You have to govern. In
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: order to govern, you have to lead. In order to lead,
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: they have to feel like you have their best interests
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: at heart. At no point can you think he has
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: your best interests at heart. Everything he does seems to
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: be self indulgent. I just don't see how people don't
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: see this. And his staunch supporters it's so crazy. Man.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what he says or what he does,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: they are okay with it. And that's scary. That's frightening. Yeah,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: it's it's very frightening. It's like he's not leading by example,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: not wearing the mask. I mean, here you are. You
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: have these scientists, doctor Falci, all these medical doctors telling
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: us what to do to quarantine the social distancing, and
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: he's not doing any of that, or the Vice president
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: for that matter. No, no, I'm not doing it. I
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: mean you're actually looking at somebody who does not care
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: about regular hard working people. He is not concerned about that,
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: because why would you make people go back? And it's
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: not saying who is gonna be at work if everybody
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: getting sick? He forced to meet packing plans? Yeah, reopen, Yeah,
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: you know you coronavirus. What it scared me is if
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: he started doing stuff we think he ought to be doing.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: If he started doing then I'm really scared now because
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: this is a setup. So you're saying you you are
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: never shocked, you are never shots. I'm always ready that
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: that's he could do something straight outland. This is gonna
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: be crazy if he start doing what we think he
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: should be doing. Oh my god, I'm really gonna get
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: scared then. You know, I want to agree with you, Tommy,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: because you're absolutely correct. Why we even surprised anymore? But
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: I gotta I gotta tell you, man, he constantly throws me,
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: I'll be going, Okay, that's new level of I don't
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: yeh yeah, this is a new level, new level, sugar honey,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: iced tea. This is another level of fu. I mean, man,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: it's like the Asian lady that was up talking about
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: it and talking about one and why don't you ask China,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: and he says China with a disdain. He's very disrespect
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: He's a he's a lack of little kid. Why aren't
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: you doing a China? Come on, man, the country's name
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: is China. You don't have to China. But she was
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: very offended by that because she was trying to ask him,
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: why are you just saying that the US is number
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: one and testing and we still have eighty thousand people
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: that have passed away from this disease. And then he
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: said asked China. She's like, are you directing that at me?
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Because she is Asian American? Horrible how he treated her.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: That was nasty. It was just not necessary. All right? Well,
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: coming up, we got more trending stories on the Steve
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show at twenty minutes after the hour you're
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: listening show. So, guys, how is quarantine life? So? I
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: got a quick question for you. Is there one item
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: in your house that you can run out of that
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: you can't run out of? And what is it? And
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: how often do you buy it? What's that one item
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: you gotta have? I can not go here, Julian. Yeah,
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: for me, it's just toilet paper necessary, can't run out,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: must must have. I even figured out the schedule for
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: shipping down in Walgreen. I know what the yeah, I
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: know what time to get in. Yeah, I'm there. I

- 1:15:48Speaker 1: I cannot run out of simply Radsberry lemonade. I cannot
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: run out of it. That's that's that's my one right there,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: simply Radsberry. I'm a Nate. I buy and by the
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: by the dozen. Oh wow, all right, Steve, you're one item.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: Oh butter lettuce. Oh that's good stuff. Yeah, that's good.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: That's butter lettuce. It's hard to date. They run out
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: of that a lot. That's what I use for bread,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: and I don't. I haven't eaten bread, so sok, March thirteenth,
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: So I use that to make my sandwiches. I use
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: romaine sometimes too, because it's hardier. But like butter lettuce,
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: sty bed, they run out of that a lot. Dan,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: you eat bread, you eat for breath when you're gonna
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: be I'm trying to get there, man. It ain't coming
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: fast enough though. All right, we gotta go. Thank you guys.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: We'll be back at thirty three minutes after the hour.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: You're listening and today's tell me something good segmented. Here
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: is some great news. It's not just good news as
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: great news. Steve tell us about your Harvey Foundation virtual
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: mentoring session on Mentoring Mondays. Today is Tuesday. Yesterday we
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: saw a young man who wanted to be an actor,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: and he told you his favorite TV show was Chicago PD.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: And you surprised him with one of the stars from
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: the show Chicago PD, actor Leroyce Hawkins. He joined in
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: on the mentoring session. It was so cool. Take a listen.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: What's your favorite TV show? My favorite on TV show
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: is Chicago PD. Are we doing? What's what's up? Man?
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: Are we doing? Big Bro? Everything? All right? Yeah? What's up?
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: SOLDI I can't complain, Mark Quay, what's up? Big Bro?
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: And you me a lot? I want to be acting
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: my show. You look like an actor to me. Hey, Hawkins, man,
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: what would you say to him as a young man
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: that's inspired to get into the field? You in man,
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Mark Quay, The first thing I want to tell you
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: is that your faith has to be stronger than your feelings.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: And you know this, big Brow. They tell you that
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: you don't got it, and you know that you were
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: born with it. But your faith was going to continue
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: to allow you to keep trying each and every day
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: and make sure that you're going to those roles and
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: that you're studying the craft that you're that you want
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: to make sure those dreams come to you no matter what.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I like that. I like that. Oh, your whole interview
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: is really really powerful because the little boy had no idea.
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: I just want to thank so many of the people man,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: when I when they when we get them on the
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: phone and say can you help us with this, that
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: they don't hesitate. Man, I've had Ray Lewis do it
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: for me. You know. It's just really really amazing man.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: And so it's a good show. What Chicago PD is
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: a great show? Man? Yeah, never seen it? Probably is.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: I know, I know. I got time to watch it
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: now on you now you can watch. You can get
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: caught up if you want to, right, I got time
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: to watch everything. But this, this mentoring Mondays is really really,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: really really helpful in a lot of ways, and even
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: for me. I love that God has placed me in
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: a position to understand how important it is to give back,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: to share information with people, especially young boys man in
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: the African American community. They need it. Man, when you
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: don't have a father, Man, it's rough. It's rough. And
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: so it's just been a great thing, man, and it's
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: really taking off. It's gone viral a lot of the clips,
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: and so what it does even more so, it helps
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: young people who watch it. You know, it may not
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: be there for the live version of it, but the
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: people who get it when it goes viol is helping
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: a lot of people. So really proud of that, you
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: know what. I watch it, Steve, and you just it
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: makes you want to keep watching it. All right, guys
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: coming up Steve's closing remarks. Oh, it's the last break
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: of the day, last break of the day. We'll be
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: back at forty nine after the hour you're listening show. Okay, guys,
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: it is the last break of the day, like we said.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: And that's it's been a busy Tuesday. Pretty good, Yeah,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: pretty good, same as Monday, Friday. Yeah, they all, they
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: all the sad part of the day. For me. Why
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: here we go? Why June, because it's back to go
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: and get back to being by yourself. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: come by to Dingly good. I'm gonna come by to
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: the day. I'm gonna make a pass box, Steve, I
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: don't just go okay, come on, stay outside, don't come in.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: He can't come in. No, he can't come in my house.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: He's been away looking at it here. He can't coming here.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: He can't come out by the court because we could
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: social distance out by the pool about thirteen feet away
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: from each other. Yeah, we can go around back right
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: down the side of the house. You're not doc. I
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: told you who I live with, the president of the
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: Center for Disease Control. She don't let nobody in here. Man. Man,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: we're in there spraying boxes and stuff right here. Box
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: me so damn when you can damn, they're punch it over.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: That's right, Hey, y'all. For my closing today, I want
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: to remind somebody to remind you of something that I
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: had to really think about. Okay. I was talking to
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: Junior and we were having some conversations. Junior calls me
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: a lot about theories and uh things I've developed over
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: the years, sayings and slogans to help get me the
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: where I am. And we were talking yesterday as Junior say, uncle,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: how do you think of everything that you think of?
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: And I was talking to him and a great deal
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: of what I think about comes from prayer. A huge
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: part of it is because I'm constantly talking to God
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: about direction, advice, counsel, because I've learned over the years,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: as becoming more and more spiritual, that I don't make
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: too many decisions without running them by Him. Let me
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: say this, Do I still make decisions without confiding and
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: confirming with God? Of course I do. Do they all
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: go bad? Nah? But when they do, I realize I
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: should have talked to him about that too. But one
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: of the things, man, that I've really had to come
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: to terms, whether I was explaining to Junior, was and
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: I think we had a conversation this morning before we
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: got on the air. I always look at the possibility
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: and I ignore the probability. See when people tell you
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: the probability of something happening, they're talking about the likelihood
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: in the event that several things go right and realizing
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: that something is going to go wrong, so there's going
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: to be a problem, So they call it the probability.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: And I never look at my life that way. I
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: look at my life in terms of possibility. And so
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Jenia was asking me, he said, but unc, how do
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: you how do you think it's going to work, I said,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: I don't always know that it's going to work. I
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: oftentimes strike out with ideas without any idea of how
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: it's going to even be possible. But what I've learned
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: over the years is that what I've started to become
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: an expert in, I became a believer in the I
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: don't see how. You understand what I'm saying. I look
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: at everything and I go, wow, I don't see how.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: When I have people telling me, man, I don't see
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: how you're gonna do that. Man, I don't see why
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: you would buy that. Man, I don't see how you're
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: gonna make that happen. I start believing in that. I
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: don't see how, And you know why I'm able to
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: believe in that. I don't see how because I don't
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: have to see how. I oftentimes don't know how, But
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: God does. He ain't never missed. He never aimed at
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: a target and missed. He never said nothing that wasn't truth. See,
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: when you ask God for something and you pray about
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: it and you believe in it, the how, too, is
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: actually none of your business. See, God's kingdom is not
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: built on earning and deserving. You earn it, you deserve it.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: That's not what his kingdom is built on. His kingdom
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: is built on asking and receiving. He says, Ask and
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: you shall receive. You got to get out of your
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: way with the how to because once you can't figure
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: out how to do something, you stop wondering about it. Well,
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: do you know the possibilities that you are ruling out
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: of your life? When you do that, You've got to
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: get out your own way. You got to ask God
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: for something, believe he'll do it, and prepare yourself to
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: receive it. That's how God operates. It's no more complicated
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: than that. So when you ask God for something you
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: believe he gonna do it, you got to prepare to
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: receive it. Now here's the part that I don't want
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: you to miss. Preparing to receive it could possibly mean
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: that if you after you ask for something and you
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: believe it, there's a series of steps that you have
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: to take and God will present that to you. You know,
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: faith with our works is dead. So when you ask
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: God for something, you believe in it. I've just learned
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: to become a believer in the I don't see how
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: I've learned to become a believer in the that ain't
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: even possible. I've learned to become a believer in the
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: ain't no way. I have learned to become a believer
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: in that. He go again, watch this, Yeah, I watch this,
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: But you ain't just watching me. You watching me with
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: a person that has a relationship with his heavenly Father
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: and with Christ. All things are possible. All things, that's
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: all you need to know. All things it's possible with Christ.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: And that's how I've gotten to where I am. Those
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: are my closing remarks. I hope you can use that. Today. Hey, y'all,
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: have a nice day, and then tomorrow be the same
