Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome.
- 0:00Speaker 2: It is verdict with Senator Ted Cruz. Wee can review
- 0:04Speaker 2: Ben Ferguson with you. And these are the stories that
- 0:07Speaker 2: you may have missed that we talked about this past week.
- 0:09Speaker 2: First up, Biden responds to anti semitism by basically not
- 0:14Speaker 2: condemning it at all.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Why is the White House playing it this way? We'll
- 0:18Speaker 1: explain it.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Also, the new NPR CEO has major issues with truth
- 0:25Speaker 2: and says that the First Amendment really gets in the way.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Why are your tax dollurs going to fund her radical agenda?
- 0:32Speaker 2: We'll break that down for you as well. And finally,
- 0:35Speaker 2: Democrats are scared. They're terrified the youth vote isn't coming
- 0:40Speaker 2: in to do what they did last time, and now
- 0:43Speaker 2: they're having to take a radical stance against Israel to
- 0:47Speaker 2: try to get young voters back on their team. It's
- 0:51Speaker 2: the weekend Review and it starts right now. We've been
- 0:55Speaker 2: covering anti semitism on college campuses and exposing what's been happening,
- 1:00Speaker 2: but now we're getting to see the White House, specifically,
- 1:03Speaker 2: the President of the United States of America is just
- 1:06Speaker 2: pathetic and that word doesn't seem strong enough, but a
- 1:10Speaker 2: pathetic response to anti Semitism on college campuses. I want
- 1:15Speaker 2: to play this for you from a reporter to the
- 1:18Speaker 2: President of the United States of America and get your
- 1:20Speaker 2: reaction to it. Listen to this and the anti submitted
- 1:24Speaker 2: protests on college campuses.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I condemned that another protests. That's why I've set up
- 1:29Speaker 3: I ford them to do with that. I also condemn
- 1:32Speaker 3: those who don't understand what's going on with the Palestinians
- 1:35Speaker 3: and they're how they're dreaming.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Columbia University president resigned.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I didn't know that.
- 1:41Speaker 2: I'll allot to find out more of I love that
- 1:45Speaker 2: they asked should she resign?
- 1:46Speaker 1: He because I didn't know that. I'll have to find
- 1:48Speaker 1: out more about that. But he condemns.
- 1:51Speaker 2: People that are anti Semitic and then says, I also
- 1:53Speaker 2: condemned those that don't know about the Palestinians, Like, what
- 1:57Speaker 2: in the hell is the president doing here?
- 1:58Speaker 1: Sir?
- 1:59Speaker 5: Well, look, he said he didn't know that, and I
- 2:02Speaker 5: actually believe that's some of the most honest words that
- 2:05Speaker 5: he said. I think he has no idea what's going on.
- 2:07Speaker 5: He's not aware of what's going on, and in particular,
- 2:10Speaker 5: he's professing ignorance as to what's happening at Columbia, what's
- 2:14Speaker 5: happening at Yale? And it is utterly disgraceful. But you
- 2:17Speaker 5: know who's not ignorant? I mean, I agree he's oblivious,
- 2:21Speaker 5: But who's not ignorant? Or the other Democrats who are
- 2:23Speaker 5: supporting this And and I want you to listen to
- 2:26Speaker 5: So there was an event, a Climate Core event where
- 2:31Speaker 5: AOC was speaking right next to Joe Biden, and he
- 2:35Speaker 5: was right there, and and AOC had something to say
- 2:39Speaker 5: on this that I want everyone, everyone to listen and hear.
- 2:41Speaker 5: Here here's AOC addressing Columbia and Yale.
- 2:45Speaker 6: It is especially important that we remember the power of
- 2:48Speaker 6: young people shaping this country today, of all days, as
- 2:52Speaker 6: we once again witness the leadership of those peaceful student
- 2:57Speaker 6: led protests on campus. It's like columb Via, Yale, Berkeley,
- 3:01Speaker 6: and many.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Others really, because a group of Yelle Student Center formed
- 3:06Speaker 2: a human chain to block a Jewish student from entering
- 3:09Speaker 2: the university yesterday, and if you no history, this was
- 3:15Speaker 2: a chilling act of anti Semitism that echoed nineteen thirty
- 3:19Speaker 2: nine when Nazis blocked Jewish students are entering Vienna University
- 3:23Speaker 2: simply because they were Jews.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Now that's absolutely right. And you also had a Jewish
- 3:29Speaker 5: student at Yale who was poked in the eye with
- 3:32Speaker 5: a flag and had to seek medical treatment because of that.
- 3:36Speaker 5: And to say, when you have threats of murder and
- 3:41Speaker 5: violence and death, when you have, as you had it
- 3:44Speaker 5: at Columbia, a student saying that Hamas should murder the
- 3:50Speaker 5: Jewish students on that campus, that is not peaceful. Threats
- 3:56Speaker 5: of violence and calling from the murder of your former
- 3:59Speaker 5: students is not remotely peaceful. But understand, AOC, this is
- 4:03Speaker 5: a sitting member of Congress. She's singling out Columbia Yale,
- 4:09Speaker 5: she's praising what's happening at Columbia Yale. Understand she supports
- 4:15Speaker 5: this vicious anti semitism. And there is Joe Biden happily
- 4:19Speaker 5: sitting there. In fact, he said at the same event
- 4:21Speaker 5: that he's learned that when AOC listened and it speaks,
- 4:24Speaker 5: you got to listen to her. Well, you know that
- 4:27Speaker 5: that is Unfortunately, today's Democrat party, which is the White House,
- 4:33Speaker 5: is utterly tepid, unwilling to condemn specifically what is happening
- 4:37Speaker 5: at Columbia and Yale, and the radicals in their party
- 4:42Speaker 5: explicitly endorse it and celebrate it.
- 4:45Speaker 2: You mentioned the radicals of the Democratic Party. You and
- 4:48Speaker 2: I have said this for a long time. When they
- 4:50Speaker 2: tell you what they believe in, believe them. I'll give
- 4:54Speaker 2: you example of this. A group of Columbia University professors
- 4:57Speaker 2: actually held a rally Monday. These are the professors who
- 5:01Speaker 2: are indoctrinating the kids to hate Jews and hate Israel.
- 5:05Speaker 2: They held a rally to express solidarity solidarity with the
- 5:10Speaker 2: anti Semitic students that had been suspended for holding unauthorized
- 5:14Speaker 2: protests on campus. And not only that, but when you
- 5:19Speaker 2: go back and look at what these leaders these universities believe,
- 5:22Speaker 2: whether it's cutting gay who we've exposed on the show
- 5:26Speaker 2: multiple times. But at an event just two months after
- 5:30Speaker 2: nine to eleven, Columbia University's current president remarked, and this
- 5:36Speaker 2: was two months after nine to eleven, that terrorism is
- 5:40Speaker 2: a quote form of protesting.
- 5:44Speaker 1: When they tell you who they are, believe them. Listen
- 5:46Speaker 1: to this.
- 5:47Speaker 7: So it's not you'll always have individuals who will have
- 5:50Speaker 7: extreme views. But what's really troubling in the region is
- 5:54Speaker 7: that there's actually quite a broad base of society which
- 5:57Speaker 7: has some sympathy for the terrorists, not so much because
- 5:59Speaker 7: they approve of their methods, but it's a form of
- 6:02Speaker 7: protesting against a system which is not delivering for them
- 6:05Speaker 7: on the economic or the political front.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I mean, that's no wonder that this university is totally
- 6:12Speaker 2: just lost to its mind and we're watching this anti semitism.
- 6:16Speaker 2: If that's what you're saying in public two months after
- 6:18Speaker 2: nine to eleven, then imagine how many children you've been
- 6:21Speaker 2: able to indoctrinate college students to believe that the Jews
- 6:24Speaker 2: are Israel and that you should feel sympathy for Hamas
- 6:27Speaker 2: has bought Isis al Kaeda.
- 6:28Speaker 1: The list goes on and on.
- 6:31Speaker 5: Well, and when she says there's a broad base of
- 6:33Speaker 5: society that has sympathy for these terrorists, she's revealing a
- 6:37Speaker 5: lot about the world in which she lives, about Ivy
- 6:41Speaker 5: League universities, about our elite universities, about our academic system,
- 6:45Speaker 5: about the left. Everyone she associates with falls into that
- 6:50Speaker 5: crowd when they look at the terrorists and understand, we're
- 6:53Speaker 5: not talking about terrorists in the abstract, We're talking about
- 6:56Speaker 5: Hamas and what they did on October seventh, murdering twelve
- 7:00Speaker 5: hundred israelis murdering some thirty Americans, raping women and little girls,
- 7:05Speaker 5: committing atrocities that the world has not seen since the Nazis.
- 7:11Speaker 5: And in today's leftist academy, using the President of Columbia's
- 7:17Speaker 5: own word, they have some sympathy for that. No, there
- 7:20Speaker 5: is no sympathy. Terrorism is not a form of protest.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Terrorism is a horrific form of violence that targets civilians,
- 7:28Speaker 5: that targets women and children, that commits murder and act
- 7:31Speaker 5: of cruelty. And that's exactly what Hamas did, and it's
- 7:36Speaker 5: what It's the reason these college campuses are allowing these
- 7:42Speaker 5: anti Semitic protests to go on, these threats to against
- 7:45Speaker 5: Jewish students to go on. It's the reason Jewish students
- 7:48Speaker 5: are being advised by the Orthodox rabbi at Columbia to
- 7:52Speaker 5: stay home because Colombia will not protect your physical safety.
- 7:57Speaker 5: And the reason is the President of Columbia, the administrators
- 8:00Speaker 5: of Columbia, they explicitly sighed with the radicals and with
- 8:07Speaker 5: the terrorists, and it is shameful and it's sick.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Finally, on this we're going to do a deep dive
- 8:14Speaker 2: about the dark money that is clearly backing and orchestrating
- 8:19Speaker 2: these not only events, but the shutting down of roads
- 8:22Speaker 2: and bridges and supporting what's happening on these college campuses
- 8:26Speaker 2: being anti Semitic. But there is one caveat, and this
- 8:31Speaker 2: should be talked about it. And like I said, we're
- 8:33Speaker 2: gonna give you a lot more on this in another episode.
- 8:36Speaker 2: But we've now found out that the NFL, the National
- 8:39Speaker 2: Football League, funded a left wing group bailing out anti
- 8:44Speaker 2: Israel bridge blockers. And this is again how the left
- 8:50Speaker 2: just holds these companies and these organization hostage, like you
- 8:53Speaker 2: better give us some money.
- 8:53Speaker 1: We need somebody to bail out some people, and they
- 8:55Speaker 1: just do it well.
- 8:57Speaker 5: And look, we talked about in the wake of October seventh,
- 9:00Speaker 5: how black lives matter, how the Chicago chapter put out
- 9:03Speaker 5: a tweet praising h Hama saying we stand with Palestine
- 9:07Speaker 5: and and and having a a picture of a paraglider.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Remember it was a paragliders that came in that the
- 9:13Speaker 5: Hamas terrorists used to murder young people in Israel, and
- 9:17Speaker 5: and and the cultural Marxist they support each other, and
- 9:21Speaker 5: and and and we're seeing that. Look on Columbia, it's
- 9:25Speaker 5: not just the students that are facing threats of violence,
- 9:28Speaker 5: it's the faculty too. So a Columbia professor, Shi David
- 9:33Speaker 5: I wanted to go and we talked about this on
- 9:37Speaker 5: on on Monday's pod that he he intended to go
- 9:40Speaker 5: and and be right among these protesters and stand up
- 9:42Speaker 5: for Israel. And what Colombia did. They revoked his past
- 9:46Speaker 5: to campus. They they zeroed out his access and blocked him.
- 9:50Speaker 5: This is the administration of Columbia. They decided between a
- 9:54Speaker 5: professor on their faculty who happened to be Jewish or
- 10:00Speaker 5: the anti Semitic protesters who are threatening violence, that the
- 10:04Speaker 5: problem was the professor who dared to be Jewish.
- 10:08Speaker 8: You know.
- 10:08Speaker 5: One of the things that this professor, Davidai, tweeted out
- 10:11Speaker 5: he said, quote to all the journalists, I promise I
- 10:14Speaker 5: will try to get back to each and every one
- 10:15Speaker 5: of you. In the meantime, I want you to consider this.
- 10:19Speaker 5: To the best of my knowledge, the last time that
- 10:22Speaker 5: a professor was denied access to their own university for
- 10:26Speaker 5: being Jewish was Nazi Germany. Well, actually that's not accurate,
- 10:31Speaker 5: because we covered on this podcast how USC did that
- 10:34Speaker 5: to a USC professor where they ordered him to stay
- 10:39Speaker 5: at home and teach from home for precisely the same reason,
- 10:42Speaker 5: because anti Israel protesters were threatening violence and they decided
- 10:46Speaker 5: not to protect him but instead to stand with the protesters.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 10:52Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 10:55Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two. Senator,
- 10:59Speaker 2: if you are at MPR, can you imagine, if you
- 11:02Speaker 2: are lefty lefty, how much freedom I think it would
- 11:05Speaker 2: make you feel like you had to then go out
- 11:08Speaker 2: there and continue to push propaganda on the American people.
- 11:11Speaker 2: If this is your CEO, I mean, it's a license
- 11:13Speaker 2: to basically go all in on liberal propaganda at the
- 11:19Speaker 2: taxpayer's expense.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Now, that is exactly right, And I've got to say listen.
- 11:26Speaker 5: As you know, I'm the ranking member on the Senate
- 11:28Speaker 5: Committee of Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and part of my
- 11:32Speaker 5: responsibility in that role, we've got jurisdiction over about forty
- 11:36Speaker 5: percent of the US economy, and part of my responsibility
- 11:40Speaker 5: is oversighted. I can tell you that I am actively
- 11:43Speaker 5: engaging in oversight right now, calling on NPR to explain,
- 11:47Speaker 5: to explain why they're willing to put in place a
- 11:51Speaker 5: hard left wing activist, not a neutral journalist, but someone
- 11:55Speaker 5: who is biased, who is who is an active supporter
- 12:02Speaker 5: of censorship, to violence, to silence the views she disagrees with.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Why NPR believes that that is an appropriate leader for
- 12:12Speaker 5: their institution.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a really great point.
- 12:16Speaker 5: And listen, don't necessarily take our words for it. I
- 12:19Speaker 5: want you to listen to Katherine Maher in her own
- 12:21Speaker 5: words because it's going to show just how radical she is.
- 12:24Speaker 8: And I want to play a couple of clips.
- 12:26Speaker 5: Let's start with her explaining that in her view, the
- 12:28Speaker 5: number one challenge that she faces is the First Amendment
- 12:31Speaker 5: of the Constitution.
- 12:33Speaker 8: Let's play that clip.
- 12:34Speaker 9: The number one challenge here that we see is, of course,
- 12:38Speaker 9: the First Amendment in the United States is a fairly
- 12:41Speaker 9: robust protection of rights. And that is a protection of
- 12:46Speaker 9: rights both for platforms, which I actually think is very
- 12:48Speaker 9: important that platforms have those rights to be able to
- 12:50Speaker 9: regulate what kind of content they want on their sites,
- 12:53Speaker 9: but it also means that it is a little bit
- 12:55Speaker 9: tricky to really address some of the real challenges of
- 13:00Speaker 9: where does bad information come from and sort of the
- 13:02Speaker 9: influence peddlers who have made a real market economy around it.
- 13:06Speaker 1: I mean, it's amazing. Center.
- 13:07Speaker 2: This is the woman running MPR, and I guess this
- 13:09Speaker 2: is almost like the best thing you can put on
- 13:11Speaker 2: your resume, right, You're like, hey, I think the First
- 13:13Speaker 2: Amendment's a real problem.
- 13:14Speaker 1: It's like perfect, We'd love to hire you at MPR.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Yeah, and she actually says, well, the First Amendment is
- 13:20Speaker 5: really important for platforms. But then what she describes as
- 13:23Speaker 5: their First Amendment right is for their ability to censor
- 13:26Speaker 5: and silence things they disagree with. So to her mind,
- 13:29Speaker 5: what she cares about is the ability if there's a
- 13:32Speaker 5: view that is right a center, as far as she's concerned,
- 13:35Speaker 5: the First Amendment is all about silencing those views, there
- 13:38Speaker 5: can be no dissent.
- 13:39Speaker 1: All right.
- 13:39Speaker 5: I want you to listen to another clip. This is
- 13:41Speaker 5: a Ted talk where she's discussing truth when she was
- 13:44Speaker 5: at Wikipedia, and somehow she has a different view of
- 13:48Speaker 5: truth than I think you and I might have.
- 13:50Speaker 8: Give a listen.
- 13:51Speaker 4: But the hard things, the places where we are prone
- 13:54Speaker 4: to disagreement, say politics and religion. Well, as it turns out,
- 13:59Speaker 4: not only does Wekipedia's model work there, it actually works
- 14:02Speaker 4: really well because in our normal lives, these contentious conversations
- 14:08Speaker 4: tend to erupt or disagreement about what the truth actually is.
- 14:13Speaker 4: But the people who write these articles, they're not focused
- 14:17Speaker 4: on the truth. They're focused on something else, which is
- 14:21Speaker 4: the best of what we can know right now. And
- 14:25Speaker 4: after seven years of working with these brilliant folks, I've
- 14:29Speaker 4: come to believe that they are onto something that perhaps,
- 14:33Speaker 4: for our most tricky disagreements, seeking the truth and seeking
- 14:38Speaker 4: to convince others of the truth might not be the
- 14:42Speaker 4: right place to start. In fact, our reverence for the
- 14:47Speaker 4: truth might be a distraction that's getting in the way
- 14:51Speaker 4: of finding common ground and getting things done. Now, that
- 14:57Speaker 4: is not to say that the truth does and exist,
- 15:01Speaker 4: nor is it to say that the truth isn't important. Clearly,
- 15:05Speaker 4: the search for the truth has led us to do
- 15:08Speaker 4: great things, to learn great things. But I think if
- 15:14Speaker 4: I were to really ask you to think about this,
- 15:18Speaker 4: one of the things that we could all acknowledge is
- 15:20Speaker 4: that part of the reason we have such glorious chronicles
- 15:24Speaker 4: to the human experience in all forms of culture is
- 15:27Speaker 4: because we acknowledge there are many different truths. And so
- 15:32Speaker 4: in the spirit of that, I'm certain that the truth
- 15:35Speaker 4: exists for you and probably for the person sitting next
- 15:38Speaker 4: to you. But this may not be the same truth.
- 15:42Speaker 4: This is because the truth of the matter is very
- 15:46Speaker 4: often for many people. What happens when we merge facts
- 15:50Speaker 4: about the world with our beliefs about the world, So
- 15:54Speaker 4: we all have different truths. They're based on things like
- 15:57Speaker 4: where we come from, how we were raised, and how
- 16:00Speaker 4: other people perceive us.
- 16:02Speaker 5: What utter garbage? Like every word of that. You want
- 16:07Speaker 5: an indictment of the modern left. You want an indictment
- 16:09Speaker 5: of the idiocy of media. You want an indictment of
- 16:12Speaker 5: the academic world. You want an indictment of big tech.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Good God, what utter garbage? Truth doesn't exist? George or
- 16:18Speaker 5: Well is spinning in his grave and laughing at the
- 16:21Speaker 5: same time. Two plus two doesn't equal four, It equals
- 16:24Speaker 5: five because we say it is there is no truth.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Listen to that quote. Our reverence for the truth might
- 16:29Speaker 5: be a distraction that's getting in the way of finding
- 16:32Speaker 5: common ground and getting things done.
- 16:33Speaker 8: But don't worry.
- 16:34Speaker 5: This is only for things that don't matter, the contentious issues.
- 16:37Speaker 5: What does she identify politics and religion? When it comes
- 16:40Speaker 5: to politics and religion, look, Jesus Christ said, I am
- 16:44Speaker 5: the way the truth in the life. But no, no, no, no, no,
- 16:46Speaker 5: no no, don't have reverence for truth. We're not interested
- 16:48Speaker 5: in that. We are interested in set aside of truth.
- 16:52Speaker 5: That can be your truth, my truth. Everyone has a truth.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Maybe for you, two plus two is five? What utter garbage?
- 17:00Speaker 5: Do you know what a journalists supposed to be interested
- 17:01Speaker 5: in the truth?
- 17:02Speaker 8: Now? Do you have perfect truth?
- 17:04Speaker 9: No?
- 17:04Speaker 8: Do you have perfect knowledge?
- 17:05Speaker 4: No?
- 17:05Speaker 5: But you should get damn close to it. You should
- 17:08Speaker 5: be trying to get to the truth. Remember what journalists
- 17:11Speaker 5: used to learn?
- 17:11Speaker 7: Who?
- 17:11Speaker 6: What?
- 17:12Speaker 8: When? Where?
- 17:12Speaker 9: How?
- 17:12Speaker 8: Why?
- 17:13Speaker 9: Like?
- 17:13Speaker 8: What happened? What are the facts? Well?
- 17:15Speaker 5: No, no, no, not according to her. According to to her,
- 17:18Speaker 5: there are no facts. There is no truth. It's your truth.
- 17:20Speaker 5: It's my truth, and my truth. From Catherine Marr's perspective
- 17:24Speaker 5: is as a left wing partisan, whatever the orthodoxy is,
- 17:27Speaker 5: and we will silence views that disagree. And the First
- 17:32Speaker 5: Amendment is a pesky pesky barrier. All right, I want
- 17:35Speaker 5: to play one more clip. Yeah, one more clip where
- 17:39Speaker 5: she's describing what she did at Wikipedia. Listen to this
- 17:42Speaker 5: third clip.
- 17:43Speaker 9: I started by talking about the idea of free and
- 17:46Speaker 9: open as some of our founding principles sort of free
- 17:49Speaker 9: and open source coming from me to the open source community. Well,
- 17:53Speaker 9: I have come to the opinion and the perspective that
- 17:56Speaker 9: free and open was a way of looking at the
- 17:59Speaker 9: world that was inherently limited relative to what we were
- 18:02Speaker 9: trying to achieve. Free and open has the best of intentionality,
- 18:05Speaker 9: but in the end, what free and open often ended
- 18:08Speaker 9: up doing, and particularly in the case of Wikipedia, was
- 18:10Speaker 9: really recapitulating many of the same power structures and dynamics
- 18:14Speaker 9: that exist offline prior to the advent of the Internet.
- 18:18Speaker 9: And so what we ended up seeing was Wikipedia really
- 18:21Speaker 9: rebuilt this idea of knowledge as a whole around what
- 18:25Speaker 9: the Western canon. You see the exclusion of communities of
- 18:29Speaker 9: languages because of the ways in which Wikipedia is based
- 18:32Speaker 9: on reliable sources. The idea of a written tradition is
- 18:36Speaker 9: something that is particular to many I mean not sorry,
- 18:40Speaker 9: the idea of a written tradition, which is particular to
- 18:42Speaker 9: some cultures and not to others. The ways in which
- 18:45Speaker 9: we I ascribe notability often really comes from sort of
- 18:49Speaker 9: this white male, westernized construct around who matters in societies
- 18:54Speaker 9: and who is elevated in whose voices, and so some
- 18:57Speaker 9: of these ideas of sort of this radical openness really
- 19:01Speaker 9: did not end up with the intention really did not
- 19:04Speaker 9: end up living into the intentionality of what openness can be.
- 19:08Speaker 5: I mean, that just is brilliant, right there, God bless So.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Look she's explaining at Wikipedia, they deliberately abandoned a quote
- 19:18Speaker 5: free and open approach. By the way she's telling you
- 19:20Speaker 5: what she's going to do at NPR. NPR is not
- 19:23Speaker 5: going to be free and open, according to her, because
- 19:25Speaker 5: she doesn't believe in free and open. Why because free
- 19:28Speaker 5: and open number one, she says, Well, that advantages cultures
- 19:33Speaker 5: that believe in the written word, because you know, what
- 19:37Speaker 5: good has book learning ever done anyone? Well, heck, you're
- 19:41Speaker 5: forgetting those cultures that don't believe in that fancy learning
- 19:44Speaker 5: stuff like what utter garbage. I'm sorry, I thought, actually
- 19:49Speaker 5: a journalistic outfit should actually reflect celebrate the best of education,
- 19:57Speaker 5: of learning, of what we know.
- 19:58Speaker 8: But she says, no, no, no, no.
- 20:01Speaker 5: If it's actually free and open, it will recapitulate a
- 20:06Speaker 5: white male, westernized, westernized construct. Let me ask you something, Ben,
- 20:10Speaker 5: what the hell does that mean? Seriously? Those are the
- 20:13Speaker 5: words Marxist use, and typically the more syllables they use
- 20:18Speaker 5: when they get polysyllabic, the less they're making any sense.
- 20:22Speaker 5: So explain to me the phrase recapitulate a white male,
- 20:27Speaker 5: westernized construct that does not end up living into the
- 20:31Speaker 5: intentionality of what openness can mean. Those words have no
- 20:36Speaker 5: content other than I want the power to silence things
- 20:40Speaker 5: I don't like.
- 20:40Speaker 8: Am I wrong?
- 20:41Speaker 1: No, you're right. And my question goes back to this.
- 20:44Speaker 1: For you.
- 20:45Speaker 2: It used to be at MPR and others they would
- 20:47Speaker 2: at least fake it like their bias. Now it's just
- 20:51Speaker 2: flat out open and they're doing it with our tax tours.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Is there ever going to be a day of reckoning
- 20:56Speaker 2: where MPR finds out, hey, good luck your own thing,
- 21:00Speaker 2: because we're not going to pay for this propagana anymore.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Look, if NPR cares at all about journalistic integrity, if
- 21:07Speaker 5: they care at all about continuing to receive taxpayer funds,
- 21:10Speaker 5: they should terminate Catherine Marr immediately. Her job should be done.
- 21:14Speaker 5: They should not have a rabid left wing partisan who
- 21:17Speaker 5: hates the First Amendment, who've used it as an inconvenience,
- 21:19Speaker 5: who wants to censor conservatives, who is actively explicitly and
- 21:23Speaker 5: unabashedly opposed to free and open communication, who doesn't believe
- 21:27Speaker 5: in truth, who believes truth is an impediment to what
- 21:30Speaker 5: she's doing. That is not a journalist in any way.
- 21:32Speaker 5: She ought to go and join Emily's list, she ought
- 21:34Speaker 5: to go and join the DNC. She got to go
- 21:36Speaker 5: run for Congress and become a henchman to Nancy Pelosi.
- 21:40Speaker 5: She should not actually be running a news organization, especially
- 21:43Speaker 5: not a news organization funded by the taxpayers. And if
- 21:47Speaker 5: we have to be honest, if you had a Democrat
- 21:51Speaker 5: who had a shred of integrity, they would say, of course,
- 21:54Speaker 5: this is not appropriate for her to run NPR. The
- 21:56Speaker 5: chances of that happening are zero. But I can tell
- 21:59Speaker 5: you I'm going to be pushing for accountability and I'm
- 22:01Speaker 5: going to be pushing for oversight of NPR because it
- 22:04Speaker 5: is brazenly shameless for them to put someone so wildly
- 22:09Speaker 5: unqualified in that position.
- 22:11Speaker 2: As before, if you want to hear the rest of
- 22:13Speaker 2: this conversation on this topic, you can go back and
- 22:16Speaker 2: dow the podcasts from earlier this week to hear the
- 22:19Speaker 2: entire thing. I want to get back to the big
- 22:22Speaker 2: story number three of the week. You may have missed
- 22:25Speaker 2: younger voters, which Joe Biden desperately needs. Those thirty five
- 22:29Speaker 2: and under are he's at risk of them not showing up.
- 22:34Speaker 2: The ones that voted for him last time, if they
- 22:37Speaker 2: don't show up this time, can cost them the election.
- 22:39Speaker 1: We've seen a lot of pandering.
- 22:41Speaker 2: We've seen yet another round of Hey, I'm going to
- 22:43Speaker 2: pay off your student loans and I don't care how
- 22:45Speaker 2: many millions or billions it costs.
- 22:47Speaker 1: We're going to buy votes that way.
- 22:49Speaker 2: We also see him coming out and not making the
- 22:52Speaker 2: big statements to fitting Israel because the young people have
- 22:55Speaker 2: been in doctrine and this goes back to what we're
- 22:57Speaker 2: witnessing on college campuses.
- 22:59Speaker 1: They've been in doctrinated to hate Israel.
- 23:02Speaker 2: And so that's why I think we've seen the President
- 23:05Speaker 2: not say anything in a.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Real way publicly.
- 23:07Speaker 2: In fact, he's talked about what they've leaked from the
- 23:10Speaker 2: White House. Let's talk about the leaks over the last
- 23:12Speaker 2: two weeks. They claim that the first Lady told Joe
- 23:16Speaker 2: Biden to stop it, stop it now, referring to Israel's
- 23:19Speaker 2: attacks on the terrace, and that was leaked by senior staff. Obviously,
- 23:23Speaker 2: there's there's real leaks that are shocking, and then there's
- 23:27Speaker 2: leaks that you do on purpose to get a news
- 23:29Speaker 2: cycle that was clearly a purposeful leak. And then we
- 23:32Speaker 2: also had it coming out of the White House that
- 23:34Speaker 2: apparently the President in essence told Israel, hey, your Ian
- 23:38Speaker 2: dome worked. Take the win, right, don't retaliate against against
- 23:43Speaker 2: the people attacking you. Just be excited that you got
- 23:46Speaker 2: the win. If that's the messaging from the White House
- 23:49Speaker 2: when it comes to actual war, then it's very clear
- 23:53Speaker 2: this is all orchestrated as well.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Yeah, understand, it's not just Israel that the angry left hates.
- 24:03Speaker 5: I want you to play a video of what happened
- 24:07Speaker 5: at Yale this weekend. And it's gonna be hard to
- 24:09Speaker 5: tell from the audio, but after you listen to the audio,
- 24:11Speaker 5: I'm gonna explain what you just listened to.
- 24:13Speaker 8: But but but play that audio.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Ben.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Senator, I wish people could see that video because if
- 24:31Speaker 2: you witness it, it's up on your on your Twitter
- 24:34Speaker 2: right now.
- 24:35Speaker 5: It will make you enraged at what they're cheering. Yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 5: you really need to see this video. So this occurred
- 24:41Speaker 5: on the Yale campus and they're chanting Viva Viva Palestina.
- 24:45Speaker 5: But what they're doing is they're pulling down the American
- 24:49Speaker 5: flag from a flagpole. And and by the way, the
- 24:53Speaker 5: image of the students strikingly the students, the Yale students
- 24:57Speaker 5: that are there, if any of them are Palestine, and
- 25:00Speaker 5: they don't appear to be. And there is in the
- 25:04Speaker 5: foreground of the image there is this young blonde kid
- 25:09Speaker 5: who appears to be just your typical woke leftist American,
- 25:14Speaker 5: although he's got short blonde hair and he's wearing a
- 25:16Speaker 5: Palestinian scarf. And as the American flag goes down, he
- 25:21Speaker 5: thrusts his fist in the air. And the cheering you
- 25:25Speaker 5: hear is when the flag goes all the way down
- 25:28Speaker 5: and hits the ground. These are Yale students cheering the
- 25:31Speaker 5: American flag being torn down. Play the audio again and
- 25:36Speaker 5: understand the cheering is when the American flag hits the ground.
- 25:39Speaker 8: Play the audio again. Ben.
- 25:51Speaker 2: You also see people that are smiling and in essence laughing, Senator,
- 25:55Speaker 2: like they can't believe this is happening on their campus
- 25:58Speaker 2: and enjoying the moment. They've been camping out there. But
- 26:02Speaker 2: this is at Yale. And if you see this at
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yale and you realize Yale is allowing this to happen,
- 26:08Speaker 2: the question is why on earth would you send your
- 26:10Speaker 2: kid to Yale and go half million dollars or more
- 26:13Speaker 2: into into debt, or have to pay that money for
- 26:16Speaker 2: your kids to be indoctrinated at a place that is
- 26:19Speaker 2: clearly not coming down hard on these actions.
- 26:23Speaker 5: Now, look that that is exactly right, and it's because
- 26:25Speaker 5: the Yale administrators are terrified to engage with against the
- 26:33Speaker 5: left because they support the views of the left. I'll
- 26:36Speaker 5: tell you something else that was tweeted. There's a story
- 26:40Speaker 5: in the Free Beacon. The Dean of students of Northwestern
- 26:45Speaker 5: attended a protest targeting the campus Jewish Community Center. So
- 26:51Speaker 5: the Dean of students went to a rally where protesters
- 26:54Speaker 5: said the school quote weaponizes anti Semitism to silence pro
- 26:59Speaker 5: Palestinian actor, and let me read you that article. The
- 27:02Speaker 5: Dean of students at Northwestern University attended an anti Israel
- 27:05Speaker 5: protest this week targeting Hillel, the school's Jewish student community center,
- 27:10Speaker 5: to defend the demonstrator's quote right.
- 27:12Speaker 8: To free speech.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Dean of Students Monadugo said she showed up at the
- 27:16Speaker 5: rally on Monday to support anti Israel's activists quote right
- 27:20Speaker 5: to protest and to protect the right to free speech.
- 27:23Speaker 5: According to The Daily Northwestern. Protest organizers demanded that the
- 27:27Speaker 5: university end its relationship with Hillel, a one hundred year
- 27:31Speaker 5: old nonprofit group that operates Jewish community centers on campuses
- 27:35Speaker 5: around the world, including Northwestern. The protest took place during
- 27:39Speaker 5: Northwestern's Admitted Students Day, which seeks to introduce incoming students
- 27:44Speaker 5: to campus life. So imagine you are Jewish students coming going.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Oh great, this is a welcoming place for me.
- 27:50Speaker 8: Quote.
- 27:51Speaker 5: Hillel is one of the many places in which this
- 27:53Speaker 5: university is complicit in infusing Jewishness with Zionism, said one
- 28:01Speaker 5: protest organizer in a speech at the rally. A leaflet
- 28:05Speaker 5: handed out by protesters accused Northwestern of quote funneling Jewish
- 28:09Speaker 5: students into Hillel, the Zionist Foundation for Jewish Life. It
- 28:14Speaker 5: also claimed the school quote weaponizes claims of anti Semitism
- 28:18Speaker 5: on campus to silence pro Palestinian activism. This is the
- 28:23Speaker 5: Dean of students, now, I will say. After this became public, Northwestern,
- 28:28Speaker 5: at least to their credit, they put out a statement
- 28:31Speaker 5: claiming the Dean of students goes to every protest to
- 28:35Speaker 5: make sure there's not violence. Maybe it sure doesn't sound
- 28:39Speaker 5: like that from the article that was printed in the
- 28:41Speaker 5: campus paper. But I'm at least glad they're feeling the
- 28:45Speaker 5: need to try to explain it. I suppose that is
- 28:47Speaker 5: marginally better then saying, yep, that's where we stand.
- 28:52Speaker 2: It's American college campuses, and it's all coming and being organized,
- 28:57Speaker 2: as you mentioned earlier, by the left. And if you
- 29:00Speaker 2: look at this, you go back to what you said
- 29:03Speaker 2: at the beginning about how important is to follow the money.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Why is it that when it comes to these issues,
- 29:09Speaker 2: And I'm going to answer my own question here, but
- 29:12Speaker 2: it's like the media doesn't exist when it comes to
- 29:15Speaker 2: investigative reporting. I would assume the media could figure it
- 29:19Speaker 2: out pretty darn quickly, Senator. Who's paying for this, who's
- 29:23Speaker 2: organizing it, who's behind it, where the money is originating from.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Not as single story is being written about it, though.
- 29:31Speaker 5: No, because they don't care. Because the media is ultimately
- 29:35Speaker 5: supportive of these goals. They're not they're not covering it.
- 29:39Speaker 5: By the way, I will give some credit, and this
- 29:41Speaker 5: is something painful for me to do, but I'm gonna
- 29:43Speaker 5: give a little bit of credit to see it in.
- 29:45Speaker 5: You know, who's been most vocal speaking out on this.
- 29:47Speaker 2: CNN has had a lot of coverage that you're You're correct,
- 29:50Speaker 2: especially this past weekend.
- 29:51Speaker 5: And Jake Tapper in particular, and listen, I've been very
- 29:54Speaker 5: critical of Jake. You and I both know Jake very well,
- 29:57Speaker 5: but on this issue, Jake, Jake Tapper has been the
- 30:00Speaker 5: single most outspoken major media figure and I'm gonna give
- 30:03Speaker 5: them credit for that because his colleagues and his colleagues
- 30:07Speaker 5: at other networks and newspapers should do the same.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Senator, last question for you on this one.
- 30:13Speaker 2: If we do find out that these organizations that are
- 30:18Speaker 2: backing and clearly growing, these these anti Semitic protests are
- 30:25Speaker 2: directly connected to Democratic donors, Democratic Party Party, what are
- 30:30Speaker 2: the chances that the media covers it or what do
- 30:32Speaker 2: you bet we're the only ones people hear about it
- 30:34Speaker 2: from zero?
- 30:36Speaker 5: The media won't cover that. They have no interest in
- 30:38Speaker 5: it whatsoever. They have no interest in who's promoting this,
- 30:41Speaker 5: who's funding it, who's paying people. Listen, Ben, as you know,
- 30:46Speaker 5: I have had anti Israel Prohamas protesters at my home
- 30:51Speaker 5: every Saturday morning for over three months now. It's the
- 30:54Speaker 5: same group of about fifteen people. They're clearly being paid
- 30:57Speaker 5: by somebody. Nobody cares who's paying them. Somebody is paying
- 31:01Speaker 5: them to and they're doing this at the homes of
- 31:04Speaker 5: other people as well, other elected officials as well. This
- 31:08Speaker 5: is a concerted effort. But do you know where this
- 31:10Speaker 5: ends up?
- 31:12Speaker 1: Where is that?
- 31:13Speaker 5: If you want to see where this ends up, take
- 31:15Speaker 5: a look at Europe. Sadly, Europe has for a long time,
- 31:19Speaker 5: for centuries, been on the cutting edge of anti Semitism,
- 31:23Speaker 5: and you can look to Europe to see perhaps the
- 31:26Speaker 5: next step of where these college campuses are. This weekend,
- 31:30Speaker 5: the London police threatened to arrest a man for being
- 31:35Speaker 5: quote openly Jewish, and I want to read from a
- 31:40Speaker 5: post that Jonathan Turley put up this weekend quote the
- 31:43Speaker 5: London police are under fire this week for threatening to
- 31:45Speaker 5: arrest aman wearing a kipa near the near a pro
- 31:49Speaker 5: Palestinian march. Officers inform Gideon Falter, head of the Campaign
- 31:54Speaker 5: Against Anti Semitism watchdog, that he was quote antagonizing the
- 31:59Speaker 5: protess by being quote openly Jewish near such a march.
- 32:06Speaker 5: He was told that if he tried to cross the
- 32:09Speaker 5: street while being quote openly Jewish, he would be arrested
- 32:15Speaker 5: for breach of the peace in the video police officer.
- 32:19Speaker 5: One police officer said, quote, you are quite openly Jewish.
- 32:24Speaker 5: This is a pro Palestinian march. I'm not accusing you
- 32:27Speaker 5: of anything, but I'm worried about the reaction to your presence.
- 32:31Speaker 5: Another officer then adds later, quote, you will be escorted
- 32:35Speaker 5: out of this area so you can go about your business,
- 32:37Speaker 5: go where you want freely, or if you choose to
- 32:40Speaker 5: remain here because you are causing a breach of peace
- 32:45Speaker 5: with all these other people, you will be arrested. Now.
- 32:50Speaker 5: I want you to pause and reflect on that in London,
- 32:54Speaker 5: it is now an arrestable offense according to police, to
- 32:59Speaker 5: be openly Jewish, to wear a yamica.
- 33:02Speaker 8: You're the one.
- 33:03Speaker 5: If you are simply Jewish and and acknowledge your Jewish
- 33:07Speaker 5: heritage and and don't hide it, that is grounds for
- 33:12Speaker 5: being arrested in London. That's where this heads. That is
- 33:16Speaker 5: the fruit of the cultural Marxist leftist ideology. That is
- 33:21Speaker 5: the fruit of the anti Semitism infusing our universities.
- 33:27Speaker 2: As always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Center,
- 33:30Speaker 2: Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you don't forget to deal
- 33:33Speaker 2: with my podcast and you can listen to my podcast

- 33:37Speaker 2: day when you listen to Verdict. Afterwards, I'd love to
- 33:39Speaker 2: have you as a listener to again the Ben Ferguson podcasts,
- 33:42Speaker 2: and we will see you back here on Monday morning.
