- 0:00Speaker 1: We have been completely silent as Israel is under attack.
- 0:04Speaker 1: The unrest in Jerusalem is prompted Senor Marsha Blackburn and
- 0:09Speaker 1: many other centers to strike at the heart of the
- 0:11Speaker 1: anti Israel terrorist funding. In fact, there is now an
- 0:15Speaker 1: introduction of a bill, the Hezbollah Money Laundering Prevention Act
- 0:20Speaker 1: of twenty twenty one, to try and choke off the
- 0:23Speaker 1: financial flow into the terrorist group that is vowing to
- 0:26Speaker 1: eradicate the Jewish state and that we should all be
- 0:30Speaker 1: afraid of. These are the people that back the attacks
- 0:34Speaker 1: on innocent men and women and children, including attacks on
- 0:37Speaker 1: schools that are happening right now in Israel. I want
- 0:41Speaker 1: you to listen to what Marshall Blackburn had to say.
- 0:43Speaker 1: You're Center Blackburn about this legislation and emboldened by some
- 0:48Speaker 1: of the actions and statements that have come out of
- 0:52Speaker 1: the Biden administration. So what this would do is clamped
- 0:57Speaker 1: down on their a bill to have access to the
- 1:01Speaker 1: US banking system and Eric as you know, Section three
- 1:06Speaker 1: eleven of the Patriot Act put basically some guardrails in place.
- 1:12Speaker 1: And what this would do is prohibit individuals that are
- 1:17Speaker 1: carrying out activity or entities that are carrying out activity
- 1:24Speaker 1: would make it more difficult for them, and that is
- 1:28Speaker 1: what we want to do. We know Iran is the
- 1:31Speaker 1: largest state sponsor of terrorism that there is. We know
- 1:36Speaker 1: that these terrorists groups depend on getting money from some
- 1:43Speaker 1: of these sources that are not friendly to the US,
- 1:47Speaker 1: So we're just trying to make it more difficult for
- 1:50Speaker 1: them to have access to those funds. We're making it
- 1:54Speaker 1: difficult for them to launder those dollars. The United States
- 1:58Speaker 1: of America, We're going to stand with Israel and we
- 2:03Speaker 1: are not going to take actions or allow actions to
- 2:07Speaker 1: continue that are going to embolden our enemies. You know, Eric,
- 2:13Speaker 1: it is vitally important for our allies to know that
- 2:17Speaker 1: they are our friends and we stand with them, and
- 2:20Speaker 1: equally important that our enemies understand that we know they
- 2:26Speaker 1: are our adversary and we are not going to take
- 2:30Speaker 1: actions that are going to make it easier for them
- 2:34Speaker 1: to attack us. The Senator's legislation, of course, made the
- 2:39Speaker 1: left go crazy right because it would invoke part of
- 2:42Speaker 1: the US Patriot Act to designate jurisdictions in Lebanon that
- 2:47Speaker 1: serve as money laundering havens to fund the terrorist groups.
- 2:50Speaker 1: The US State Department, which has long classified as Plaus,
- 2:53Speaker 1: a terrorist organization and global terrorist threat says the Iran
- 2:57Speaker 1: that Iran helped support it to the tune of over
- 3:01Speaker 1: seven hundred million a year. Now, this bill, which makes sense,
- 3:06Speaker 1: which should be bipartisan, but we're already seeing the left
- 3:09Speaker 1: starting to balk at this because apparently they love Hezbalah. Right,
- 3:12Speaker 1: the gang of whatever idiots in the Democratic Party, the
- 3:18Speaker 1: AOCS and the Alamo mars and others are basically the
- 3:22Speaker 1: mouthpieces for Hezblah in the United States government. It's so sick,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and I'll deal with that in a moment. But what
- 3:27Speaker 1: Marsha Blackburn says is the toughest This would represent the
- 3:31Speaker 1: toughest sanctions on Hezblah ever proposed by Congress, which could
- 3:35Speaker 1: result in the lack of resources need to continue their
- 3:38Speaker 1: terrorist agenda in the region and abroad. Now, I don't
- 3:41Speaker 1: think the Hezbla is ever going to go away, but
- 3:42Speaker 1: this would certainly do a hell of a lot to
- 3:44Speaker 1: stop them. It would sanction the banks and companies and
- 3:47Speaker 1: other entities that provide Hezbalah support. There are groups and
- 3:53Speaker 1: think about these banks and Lebanon other places. They want
- 3:57Speaker 1: seven hundred million dollars a year coming through their banks.
- 4:00Speaker 1: That's why this bill would block US bank accounts tied
- 4:03Speaker 1: to these that support Hezblah. It would require detailed report
- 4:07Speaker 1: on the Lebanese leaders who provide support to the group,
- 4:10Speaker 1: and it would allow President Biden to impose more sanctions
- 4:13Speaker 1: on these banks, on these companies and other entities, which
- 4:16Speaker 1: I'm not sure he wants to do because apparently he's
- 4:19Speaker 1: not much of a friend of Israel. Now. The Senate
- 4:22Speaker 1: legislation that was introduced in twenty nineteen did not go
- 4:25Speaker 1: as far as Center Blackburn's measures, and clearly now we
- 4:28Speaker 1: need to do it. That legislation nineteen merely just cited
- 4:32Speaker 1: the Lebanese government and called on the Lebanes armed forces
- 4:36Speaker 1: to limit or expel Hezblah influenced military personnel, which of
- 4:40Speaker 1: course they haven't done. It also seeks for Lebanons armed
- 4:47Speaker 1: forces to disarm Hezblah, which they have not done either.
- 4:51Speaker 1: You want to target these terrorist groups, the way you
- 4:54Speaker 1: do it is by denying them the funds that enable
- 4:56Speaker 1: them to carry out their terrorist actions. You look at
- 5:00Speaker 1: the massive amounts of rockets that have been coming to Israel,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and I want to play for you part of this
- 5:08Speaker 1: news report that came out on Fox. The Israeli government
- 5:13Speaker 1: has come out and said, look, not only did Hamas
- 5:15Speaker 1: fire forty five plus rockets at Israel at one time,
- 5:18Speaker 1: you can see it clearly in the air, broad daylight,
- 5:21Speaker 1: but they're targeting schools. Now, listen to part of this.
- 5:26Speaker 1: That's Israel firing missiles into northern Gaza as Hamas fires
- 5:31Speaker 1: over forty five rockets aimed towards Jerusalem. This is according
- 5:34Speaker 1: to new reporting now from the IDF, that's the Israeli
- 5:37Speaker 1: Defense Force. It comes as tensions continue to ratch up
- 5:40Speaker 1: in the region following what has been a week's long
- 5:43Speaker 1: new spate of military conflict. Trey Inks joins US now
- 5:47Speaker 1: from Israel with details on the ground. High Trey, Jillian
- 5:54Speaker 1: Good afternoon. This was a red line for Israel firing
- 5:56Speaker 1: on Jerusalem. Earlier this evening. Seven rock gets targeted the city,
- 6:01Speaker 1: and dozens of rockets have targeted communities along the Gaza border.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Here where we are standing. The past thirty minutes have
- 6:07Speaker 1: been quiet, but the IDF, the Israeli Defense Forces are preparing,
- 6:12Speaker 1: they say, for days of fighting along the Gaza border.
- 6:15Speaker 1: We spoke earlier with sources inside Gaza, who have confirmed
- 6:19Speaker 1: that the Israelis are now responding with air strikes inside
- 6:22Speaker 1: the Gaza strip. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, nine
- 6:25Speaker 1: Gazans have been killed, including three children, in this Israeli retaliation.
- 6:30Speaker 1: How did we get here, that's the big question. Well,
- 6:33Speaker 1: this week has been extremely tense. There were protests across
- 6:36Speaker 1: Jerusalem that turned to riots early this morning. More than
- 6:40Speaker 1: three hundred Palestinians were injured at the Alaxa Mosque as
- 6:43Speaker 1: Israeli security forces stormed in. All of this related to
- 6:47Speaker 1: two major issues having to do with access to Alaxa
- 6:51Speaker 1: and also the Sheik Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem. Those are
- 6:54Speaker 1: very local and focused issues for this conflict, but as
- 6:58Speaker 1: we have seen tonight, this is evolving into a much
- 7:00Speaker 1: larger situation. I want to get some information that we're
- 7:03Speaker 1: getting here from the Israeli military. They are calling this
- 7:05Speaker 1: a severe assault on Israel. They say they hold Hamas,
- 7:09Speaker 1: the group and control of Gaza responsible, saying Hamas will
- 7:12Speaker 1: bear the consequences. We also know, according to the Israeli
- 7:16Speaker 1: defense spokesperson, that a Hamas military commander was targeted in
- 7:21Speaker 1: some of this Israeli retaliation. This hour, and this takes
- 7:26Speaker 1: things to a different level inside Gaza because the factions
- 7:29Speaker 1: there then say they need to respond. There are two
- 7:32Speaker 1: big factions inside Gaza. One is Hamas and the other
- 7:35Speaker 1: is Islamic Jihad. Both of them have fired rockets tonight
- 7:38Speaker 1: into southern Israel and central Israel. In the past. The
- 7:42Speaker 1: last major round only focused on Islamic Jihad. So the
- 7:45Speaker 1: fact that Hamas is getting involved in the fight means
- 7:49Speaker 1: that this is turning into a serious conflict for the region.
- 7:52Speaker 1: And as you can see behind me, police have blocked
- 7:54Speaker 1: off roads leading to the Gaza border itself. We're just
- 7:57Speaker 1: about a mile away from the border and there are
- 8:00Speaker 1: bomb shelters opened all around us. It's very quiet in
- 8:04Speaker 1: this city of Studaup because people are preparing further conflict.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I don't know why the Biden administration has not come
- 8:12Speaker 1: out immediately and condemned this violence and the attacks by
- 8:17Speaker 1: these terrorist organizations, not one, but two terrorist organizations that
- 8:21Speaker 1: are clearly trying to target and kill innocent people. This
- 8:25Speaker 1: administration should always stand by our ally Israel. That's something
- 8:29Speaker 1: that we should do. Israel is not a terrorist nation.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Israel is a friend of the United States and has
- 8:37Speaker 1: helped protect us and innocent people in the Middle East
- 8:41Speaker 1: and help US attack terrorists in the Middle East. Four decades.
- 8:45Speaker 1: This administration and Joe Biden should easily be able to
- 8:48Speaker 1: put it themselves out in front of a podium to
- 8:51Speaker 1: denounce and demand the top of the terrorist attacks on Israel.
- 8:55Speaker 1: But they're not doing it. And the reason why they're
- 8:58Speaker 1: not doing is because I guess they come US. I
- 9:00Speaker 1: guess they like Hesla, I guess they like Isis and
- 9:03Speaker 1: is so right these Islamic state people over there, they're
- 9:06Speaker 1: attacking the Jews. What's even more discussing is the Democratic
- 9:10Speaker 1: Party isn't even calling out one of their own and representative, Talib,
- 9:14Speaker 1: who had this to say about Israel today. I first
- 9:18Speaker 1: want to get your reaction to what we just heard
- 9:19Speaker 1: there from Ralph Sanchez on the situation in East Jerusalem
- 9:22Speaker 1: in the developments generally that have been playing out. I
- 9:26Speaker 1: mean this is an apartheid system. I mean, I mean
- 9:28Speaker 1: Israel's own prominent human rights organization, Bittsalam, has declared it.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Human Rights Watch has declared it, and Palestinians on the
- 9:36Speaker 1: ground have been telling us for decades that they've been
- 9:39Speaker 1: their homes have been demolished, that they've been targeted. They
- 9:43Speaker 1: that violence has been met by Israeli led forces under
- 9:48Speaker 1: Netinya Who's racist policies. But we're really telling Palestinians fighting
- 9:52Speaker 1: apartheid is the same thing being told to my fellow
- 9:56Speaker 1: black Americans across our country here and that are fighting
- 9:59Speaker 1: and police brutality. There is no form of accept the
- 10:04Speaker 1: resistance to state violence except the denial of except for
- 10:08Speaker 1: the denial of people's human dignity. And we need to stop.
- 10:13Speaker 1: We need to stop and look at the fact that
- 10:16Speaker 1: our own country is enabling it, with billions of dollars
- 10:20Speaker 1: every year being issued to Israel, even though they are
- 10:23Speaker 1: promoting racism into humanization. So to that point, the White
- 10:26Speaker 1: House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke with his Israeli counterpart.
- 10:30Speaker 1: He expressed the United States's concerns over the violent confrontations
- 10:33Speaker 1: in Jerusalem. Do you think the Biden administration needs to
- 10:36Speaker 1: take a stronger stance right now towards Israel for the
- 10:40Speaker 1: developments that we're seeing there. I'm just going to stop
- 10:43Speaker 1: it there. That's MSNBC. They have now turned Israel into
- 10:46Speaker 1: the bad guys. They allow a congresswoman to come on
- 10:49Speaker 1: TV saying that we should not be sending billions to
- 10:52Speaker 1: our ally referring to Israel is the part that Israel
- 10:58Speaker 1: saying that they promote racism and dehumanization. This is Israel
- 11:02Speaker 1: we're talking about here, and she has apparently no problem
- 11:06Speaker 1: with this at all. MSNBC apparently has no problem with
- 11:10Speaker 1: this type of propaganda going out there. We have shocking
- 11:13Speaker 1: footage out of Israel children and their mothers scrambling for
- 11:16Speaker 1: shelter as the rocket sirens go off and the rockets
- 11:20Speaker 1: start hitting innocent people in Israel. And you want me
- 11:23Speaker 1: to believe that Israel's the bad guys? Listen to how
- 11:29Speaker 1: CNN even put this earlier than all right, we have
- 11:34Speaker 1: re established contact with our team in Israel. Let me
- 11:37Speaker 1: just give you a sense of what happened. Hadas Gold
- 11:40Speaker 1: and her team were in Oshlon, which is not far
- 11:41Speaker 1: from Gaza, which Ashlan is a place that frequently is
- 11:44Speaker 1: targeted by rocket attacks. They were preparing for a live shot.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I think we have video and audio of this and
- 11:50Speaker 1: the t let's play it. Um, you know, there we go.
- 11:54Speaker 1: That's in us getting ready for kay. All right, that
- 12:23Speaker 1: was moments ago in Israel. As you that it is
- 12:28Speaker 1: again with Hudas and her team running away there just
- 12:30Speaker 1: to see it again. Um, we have re established contact
- 12:33Speaker 1: with Hudas. Huddas Gold joins us now, Hudas give us
- 12:36Speaker 1: a sense of how you are, the situation around you,
- 12:40Speaker 1: and what is going on in general. So, John, we
- 12:43Speaker 1: are currently sitting in a swomb shelter in the building
- 12:46Speaker 1: that we were just outside of m McInville last I
- 12:48Speaker 1: would say ten fifty maybe twenty finance their huse and
- 12:51Speaker 1: at least three of the it was those air raised
- 12:53Speaker 1: rons and we are being at least forty eight rockets
- 12:57Speaker 1: uh well firing right above us. Were in the function
- 13:00Speaker 1: right now with residents of this building as well as
- 13:02Speaker 1: other media and as well as militaries. So people who
- 13:06Speaker 1: were here as well as you said you were getting
- 13:08Speaker 1: ready to do a live shot just because the building
- 13:11Speaker 1: that had been hit directly by a rocket earlier this
- 13:14Speaker 1: morning over there were several injuries, including one securely. But
- 13:17Speaker 1: if these last few minutes has been a clear escalation
- 13:21Speaker 1: because these rockets are flying out north of us. Ashkelon
- 13:24Speaker 1: is quite close to the Gaza border and these rockets
- 13:27Speaker 1: are not flying above us and north and just to
- 13:30Speaker 1: get you up to speed on what's been happening here.
- 13:31Speaker 1: In the last twenty four hours. There have been now more,
- 13:34Speaker 1: well more than three hundred rockets fired from Gaza into
- 13:38Speaker 1: Israel Israeli militaries that they have struck right by the way,
- 13:42Speaker 1: did you hear three hundred, three hundred rockets? Meanwhile, go
- 13:46Speaker 1: back to MSNBC, and they're saying, well, should the Biden
- 13:49Speaker 1: administration pull back from and cut ties or demand the
- 13:54Speaker 1: Israel stop what they're doing. Even CNN is not stupid
- 13:58Speaker 1: enough to do what MSNBC is doing. Again, go back
- 14:01Speaker 1: to this report three hundred random rockets being shot into
- 14:04Speaker 1: Israel to target and kill innocent people at the hands
- 14:08Speaker 1: of a moss Meanwhile, you have a Democratic congresswoman who
- 14:12Speaker 1: is referring to Israel as a part that Israel, saying
- 14:15Speaker 1: that they are the terrorists, and an MSNBC is actually
- 14:19Speaker 1: putting this propagain on American TV saying, well, maybe Joe
- 14:23Speaker 1: Biden should start speaking true to Israel and condemning them
- 14:26Speaker 1: for them defending themselves. What's been happening here in the
- 14:31Speaker 1: last twenty four hours, there have been now more, well
- 14:34Speaker 1: before than three hundred rockets fired from Gaza into Israel.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Israeli militarces that they have struck militants targets in Gaza.
- 14:43Speaker 1: They say they have killed at least fifteen militants. The
- 14:45Speaker 1: Palestinian health industry in Gaza say that twenty four people
- 14:49Speaker 1: have been killed, including nine children. Heretshire whether those fifteen
- 14:53Speaker 1: milities are part of the twenty four member In Israel,
- 14:57Speaker 1: there have been at least sixteen people in cured by
- 15:00Speaker 1: rocket fire. Another fifteen have been injured in other incidents
- 15:04Speaker 1: of violence because we are seeing a protesting US throughout
- 15:08Speaker 1: the country as well. There was also an arabistically suited
- 15:11Speaker 1: in who was killed in another incidents of unrest where
- 15:16Speaker 1: instinct of allegedly up throwing rocks at a Jewish is
- 15:20Speaker 1: really who's been allegedly shots really Arab students. But clearly
- 15:25Speaker 1: this is the highest moments of escalation that this region
- 15:30Speaker 1: has seen in years. And then again you can hear
- 15:33Speaker 1: the audio there is bad, but it's important that you
- 15:36Speaker 1: understand what's happening here. You have a correspondent talking about
- 15:39Speaker 1: hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of
- 15:41Speaker 1: rockets that are being fired in the last twenty four hours.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Rockets are not flying above us in the north, and
- 15:50Speaker 1: you just get up to speed on what's been happening here.
- 15:52Speaker 1: In the last twenty four hours, there have been more
- 15:54Speaker 1: than three hundred rockets fired from Gaza by the terraces
- 15:57Speaker 1: into Israel. What are you want Israel to do? Go
- 16:01Speaker 1: back to MSNBC. Well, Israel really is the bad guys,
- 16:05Speaker 1: aren't they. Israel's the one that should be held recountable, right,
- 16:08Speaker 1: Israel's the one that maybe Joe Biden should talk to.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Maybe you should put some pressure on them, right, Maybe
- 16:15Speaker 1: that's what we need to do, representative to le tell
- 16:20Speaker 1: us how bad Israel is. While Israel's just defending themselves.
- 16:24Speaker 1: There are ally and we're saying nothing about this. Let's
- 16:29Speaker 1: also remember at least forty four people were killed in
- 16:33Speaker 1: a stampeded a religious festival in northern Israel because of
- 16:37Speaker 1: some attacks by these terrorists. And as terrorists continue to
- 16:41Speaker 1: attack Israel, what are democrats doing while all of this
- 16:46Speaker 1: is happening? What are the democrats doing right now while
- 16:50Speaker 1: innocent people are being murdered in Israel, where hundreds and
- 16:54Speaker 1: hundreds of rockets in the last twenty four hours are
- 16:57Speaker 1: being fired by terrorists into Israel. Their going on TV
- 17:00Speaker 1: right like Representative Talib saying that we should not be
- 17:04Speaker 1: sending billions to the apartheid Israel as they promote racism
- 17:07Speaker 1: and dehumanise, dehumanization, literally they are backing the terrorists. And
- 17:13Speaker 1: then there's the White House MSNBC. Well, White House, shouldn't
- 17:17Speaker 1: they be speaking truth to power with the Israelis? Listen
- 17:21Speaker 1: to this crap, This is nothing but propaganda. To that point,
- 17:25Speaker 1: the White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke with
- 17:27Speaker 1: his Israeli counterpart. He expressed the United States's concerns over
- 17:31Speaker 1: the violent confrontations in Jerusalem. Do you think the Biden
- 17:34Speaker 1: administration needs to take a stronger stance right now towards
- 17:38Speaker 1: Israel for the developments that we're seeing there. Absolutely, we
- 17:42Speaker 1: need to hold the international human rights laws that are
- 17:46Speaker 1: saying to you, are folks across the country that they
- 17:48Speaker 1: have to buy why not the Israel? Why not saying Tontigna,
- 17:52Speaker 1: who currently who is running on anti Arab breaderate consistently
- 17:58Speaker 1: accepting violence by all Israeli police and military forces to
- 18:02Speaker 1: side with Israeli citizens who are literally throwing physically throwing
- 18:06Speaker 1: people out of their homes. US taxpayer dollars should not
- 18:10Speaker 1: be used to commit human rights violations. That needs to
- 18:14Speaker 1: be said. I have yet to hear anybody from the
- 18:17Speaker 1: Biden administration declare that that our money will not be
- 18:21Speaker 1: used to degrade, to dehumanize, and to kill or evict
- 18:26Speaker 1: people out of their homes. This is terrorist propaganda that
- 18:29Speaker 1: you're listening to right now from MSNBC going out unchecked
- 18:34Speaker 1: by a United States Member of Congress and representative to lead,
- 18:39Speaker 1: and they're not stopping it. This administration is not backing
- 18:43Speaker 1: our ally CNN even telling the truth. They're saying, we
- 18:48Speaker 1: got three under rockets coming in. We have innocent people,
- 18:51Speaker 1: they're dying. We have these rockets attacks between Israel and Hamas,
- 18:56Speaker 1: and people are preparing for the worst. You have at
- 18:59Speaker 1: forty four people that we're killing, the stampede at a
- 19:01Speaker 1: religious festival in northern Israel, with more attacks that take
- 19:04Speaker 1: place there. This is the Democratic Socialist Party. This also comes,
- 19:15Speaker 1: by the way, as we got those reports just a
- 19:17Speaker 1: week ago that John Kerry was leaking info to Iran
- 19:21Speaker 1: about Israel. The White House has now been asked about that,
- 19:26Speaker 1: right like, are you guys actually actively going and working
- 19:30Speaker 1: against Israel? Listen to what the White House said, when
- 19:34Speaker 1: they were asked a question about John Kerry leaking info
- 19:37Speaker 1: to Iran about Israel operations, thank you sure, but thank
- 19:42Speaker 1: you man. I have one question about foreign policy and
- 19:45Speaker 1: then another about COVID here, so the first one is
- 19:49Speaker 1: in tapes obtained to buy The New York Times. Iran's
- 19:52Speaker 1: foremaster says that former Secretary of State John Kerry and
- 19:56Speaker 1: former him the Israel attacked Iranian interests at least one
- 20:00Speaker 1: hundred times. You know, as the secretary of shifted rolls.
- 20:04Speaker 1: He still continues to represent the United States on a
- 20:06Speaker 1: world stage. Does the President have any comment or reaction
- 20:10Speaker 1: to carry telling the Iranians about covert military action on
- 20:15Speaker 1: the part of Israel. We're not going to comment on
- 20:17Speaker 1: leaked tapes. Okay, that's it. We're not going to comment
- 20:22Speaker 1: on leaked tapes. We're not going to do it. We
- 20:24Speaker 1: may be working for the terrorists, we may be working
- 20:27Speaker 1: for ram, we may be working with a moss or hesblah,
- 20:30Speaker 1: and if you catch us on tape our representatives, we're
- 20:34Speaker 1: not going to comment on quote leaked tapes. Well, how
- 20:37Speaker 1: the hell else do you think we would have gotten
- 20:39Speaker 1: this information? I'm dead serious. How else do you think
- 20:43Speaker 1: we would have gotten any of this information? Somebody answer
- 20:47Speaker 1: me that question, please, I'd love to know how that works.
- 20:53Speaker 1: All right, before I run out of time, I do
- 20:55Speaker 1: have to get to another subject that I mentioned earlier,
- 20:57Speaker 1: and that is about jobs in this country. Because it's
- 21:00Speaker 1: important and I'm not going to forget about this Israel topic.
- 21:02Speaker 1: We will continue to discuss it, I can promise you that.
- 21:05Speaker 1: But before I get any deeper into that, I want
- 21:09Speaker 1: to get back to this other issue with jobs in
- 21:10Speaker 1: this country, and it deals with governors who are now
- 21:14Speaker 1: doing the right thing, governors who have decided to cut
- 21:19Speaker 1: off the amount of money that is actually going to
- 21:23Speaker 1: people that are refusing to go back to work. Earlier
- 21:27Speaker 1: today we got word that multiple states are going to
- 21:31Speaker 1: be doing this. One of those states is Mississippi. Mississippi
- 21:37Speaker 1: has announced that they're going to end their three hundred
- 21:40Speaker 1: unemployment stipend weekly stipend after the head of the GOP
- 21:45Speaker 1: in the House wrote a letter to the governor saying
- 21:48Speaker 1: to Governor Tate Reeves saying, hey, this has gotten out
- 21:51Speaker 1: of control. Mississippi is now going to opt out of
- 21:55Speaker 1: the federal pandemic program that has provided an extra twelve
- 21:58Speaker 1: dollars a month to unemploy benefits to Mississippi, and since
- 22:01Speaker 1: last year now reeves announcement came after the House Speaker.
- 22:06Speaker 1: They are called on Reeves to either start enforcing job
- 22:09Speaker 1: searching requirements for unemployment benefits or in the federal stipend.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Gun said, small businesses are dying and they're reporting they
- 22:19Speaker 1: cannot hire people because the extra benefits that the state
- 22:22Speaker 1: is giving out and not enforcing the rule that people
- 22:25Speaker 1: search for work while receiving unemployment benefits. The purpose of
- 22:31Speaker 1: unemployment benefits is to temporarily assist Mississippians too are unemployed
- 22:37Speaker 1: through no fault their own. Reeves posted on social media, saying,
- 22:41Speaker 1: after many conversations in the last several weeks with Missisippi
- 22:44Speaker 1: SMA business owners their employees, has become clear the pandemic
- 22:47Speaker 1: unemployment assistance and other like programs passed by Congress may
- 22:51Speaker 1: have been necessary in May of last year, but no
- 22:54Speaker 1: longer in May of this year. Therefore, I have informed
- 22:57Speaker 1: the Department of Employment Security to direct the Biden administration
- 23:02Speaker 1: that the Mississippi that Misissippi will opt out the additional
- 23:05Speaker 1: federal unemployment benefits as early as the law allows, which
- 23:08Speaker 1: is June the twelfth. Now, this is not the only
- 23:12Speaker 1: state that's doing this. Arkansas, we're now being told, is
- 23:15Speaker 1: doing this as well. The Arkansas governor was on CNN
- 23:20Speaker 1: and he had this to say about their decision. Explain
- 23:24Speaker 1: to me how and why you reach this decision to
- 23:27Speaker 1: halt the enhanced unemployment benefits. Well, the extra compensation was
- 23:33Speaker 1: very helpful during the dark days of the pandemic, when
- 23:36Speaker 1: unemployment rates were so high. But now our economy has
- 23:40Speaker 1: come back. We have jobs of plenty. We have employers
- 23:43Speaker 1: that are begging workers to come to their place of business,
- 23:48Speaker 1: and we cannot pay extra compensation for workers to stay home.
- 23:53Speaker 1: We need them in the place of employment, and so
- 23:57Speaker 1: that's the simple rationale for it. If they need assistance
- 24:01Speaker 1: and finding a job, we'll provide that to them. If
- 24:05Speaker 1: they need childcare assistance, we have more than ample resources
- 24:10Speaker 1: to assist in that as well. So we want people
- 24:13Speaker 1: to work. People of Arkansas want to work. But we
- 24:16Speaker 1: found that that enhanced benefit was simply an impediment. We
- 24:20Speaker 1: still continue to have the ordinary unemployment benefits, but this
- 24:24Speaker 1: is a good step to help people get back to work.
- 24:27Speaker 1: CNN not happy, right, They're angry about this, so they
- 24:31Speaker 1: keep pressing the governor X in do I want to
- 24:34Speaker 1: get the same amount of money by going to work
- 24:37Speaker 1: every day and working hard, or I want to get
- 24:39Speaker 1: that amount of money by sitting at home? And so
- 24:42Speaker 1: we want to avoid that inclination of human nature incentivize them.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Work should always reward more than unemployment. In we're trying
- 24:53Speaker 1: to accomplish. Shouldn't the companies raise their pay by the
- 24:56Speaker 1: way I love? Couldn't the companies raise their pay? Well,
- 24:59Speaker 1: they have, But you're asking companies and not compete with
- 25:04Speaker 1: another opportunity which involves no work. You'll never win that battle,
- 25:08Speaker 1: you dumb as at CNN. This is how stupid CNN is.
- 25:12Speaker 1: This is what socialism will do to your brain. CNN
- 25:15Speaker 1: is actually arguing that it's the company's fault. No one
- 25:18Speaker 1: wants come to work because the company isn't offering them
- 25:20Speaker 1: enough money. How do you compete against not paying people
- 25:25Speaker 1: or excuse me, not requiring people to work and paying them,
- 25:28Speaker 1: which is what the state in the federal government is
- 25:30Speaker 1: doing right now. If I offer you fifteen dollars an
- 25:33Speaker 1: hour to not work or eighteen dollars an hour to work,
- 25:36Speaker 1: which one are you going to pick nine. So the
- 25:39Speaker 1: people are going to pick the fifteen dollars an hour,
- 25:42Speaker 1: which is exactly what the governor's point was. Oh, sure
- 25:47Speaker 1: they can raise their pay and that would raise consumer cost,
- 25:54Speaker 1: but we want to make sure and they have raised
- 25:57Speaker 1: their pay. Employers all across us, our state in the
- 26:01Speaker 1: country have consistently been more competitive in their salaries. They've
- 26:05Speaker 1: raised it, but still they're competing with free money. They're
- 26:09Speaker 1: competing with benefits that they can't provide, nor should they
- 26:14Speaker 1: have to be able to provide. The governor's right. I
- 26:18Speaker 1: hope every other state in this country that has a
- 26:21Speaker 1: conservative legislature does exactly what they're talking about right now.
- 26:25Speaker 1: They need to do this right now. We have more
- 26:28Speaker 1: than eight million jobs available in this country, eight million
- 26:33Speaker 1: right now, eight million. Why are people not taking those
- 26:36Speaker 1: jobs because they get to sit home and be lazy,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and we're incentivising them to sit at home and be lazy.
- 26:43Speaker 1: That is a fact. All right. Let me lastly say this,
- 26:47Speaker 1: if you have not shared this with your family and friends,
- 26:50Speaker 1: please share this podcast with your family and friends. We
- 26:55Speaker 1: are still fighting Facebook silencing us and we need your help.
- 26:58Speaker 1: So without you telling your family friend about this podcast,
- 27:00Speaker 1: we don't grow, so please please share this with your
