- 1:24Speaker 1: My next guest is on the phone. He's he would
- 1:27Speaker 1: be considered the man, the comedian, the legend. He has
- 1:30Speaker 1: been selling that comedy gloves and concert venues all over
- 1:33Speaker 1: the world, says I was born. That's how long he's
- 1:36Speaker 1: been telling jokes. He finds humor everywhere he turns, from
- 1:39Speaker 1: media to relationships to dialogue cliches, and he knows how
- 1:42Speaker 1: to read an audience better than anybody I've ever met
- 1:44Speaker 1: in the comedy business. He has returned to Las Vegas
- 1:47Speaker 1: with a new show at Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Please welcome back to money making Conversations. Dr George Wallace
- 1:56Speaker 1: um Good morning to you. Rashaan McDonnell that the Tera
- 2:00Speaker 1: firtrate on money that can come to face. Yeah, I
- 2:02Speaker 1: said twenty. He said twenty. Man, you know twenty. I
- 2:05Speaker 1: don't know if that's I don't know if it hears
- 2:07Speaker 1: money making other people. I don't know about it. But
- 2:09Speaker 1: you've been't making money make long. You've been knowing me
- 2:14Speaker 1: since Uh oh my god, I can't even figure that out.
- 2:20Speaker 1: That's It's good to talk to you this morning. How
- 2:23Speaker 1: do you doing well? Great? Thank you for calling on
- 2:25Speaker 1: my anniversary show. I appreciate you, but as usual, you're
- 2:28Speaker 1: very busy. Dr George Wallace. I am just like you said.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I have a residence there at the Westgate and lost
- 2:33Speaker 1: status and it's just life is just good. I'm the
- 2:36Speaker 1: most best personal you have have met. That's all I
- 2:40Speaker 1: want to say. Well, you always say that you blessed,
- 2:42Speaker 1: but obviously you're blessing us with these jokes. Now, how
- 2:44Speaker 1: do you keep how do you just stay fresh on
- 2:46Speaker 1: the comedy stage, George Wallace? Because one here, all I
- 2:49Speaker 1: do is just I just love going to work because
- 2:52Speaker 1: all I do is lie. I just love the line
- 2:54Speaker 1: and I wake up in the morning life I think God,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I want to be in the world, but right now
- 3:00Speaker 1: don't know comforts kicking. But but I'm doing what I
- 3:03Speaker 1: have to do. Well. I think you're kicking everybody's butt,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and I think you're from a comedic standpoint if you're
- 3:08Speaker 1: winning with him on stage listen. But it's good to
- 3:13Speaker 1: talk money and uh and have fun while you're making money.
- 3:15Speaker 1: That's what I like about my job and your job.
- 3:18Speaker 1: We love what we do. So many people don't know
- 3:20Speaker 1: you can make money having fun. Always enjoyed. Honor your esforence,
- 3:25Speaker 1: honor your esfence. Make sure you enjoy what you do.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I love running work every night, not just lie and
- 3:31Speaker 1: they ask me, am I coming in tomorrow. I'm telling me,
- 3:33Speaker 1: hell yeah, to be on time. I just love what
- 3:35Speaker 1: I do and I hope everybody enjoy their works. And
- 3:38Speaker 1: I teach people also to take off every day you
- 3:41Speaker 1: get a chance, well take off the course. You know
- 3:43Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Absolutely, I think that you know. One
- 3:45Speaker 1: of the things every time you come on my show
- 3:47Speaker 1: has been inspirational. We know, we know you're funny, but
- 3:50Speaker 1: I think what you always drop these nuggets of of
- 3:53Speaker 1: life life and misresponsibilities and also don't do what you
- 3:58Speaker 1: don't enjoy, you know exactly exactly, and then you're smart.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You know. Uh, people, if you're working in hospital, do
- 4:05Speaker 1: you work in the hospital, you don't have to go
- 4:07Speaker 1: to work? Said, you know, don't just score you're working
- 4:10Speaker 1: in the hospital. You think you're still don't get well
- 4:13Speaker 1: on calling? Said, if any place you call and sicking,
- 4:16Speaker 1: call and sick in the hospital. But again, they might
- 4:18Speaker 1: ask you to come to work so you can find
- 4:20Speaker 1: out what wrong. He'll be thinking, Now you're telling joke, Like,
- 4:26Speaker 1: so that's what I like. We just turn it around.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Doesn't matter what point we go. We can make it
- 4:30Speaker 1: a joke and it's funny and it makes sense. Well,
- 4:32Speaker 1: that's the key to being a comic. As the reason
- 4:35Speaker 1: I love Jog Wallace. First of all, he's a good person,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and he's the person who shares his blessings with his
- 4:42Speaker 1: own stage off stage, and he's consistent in his personality
- 4:45Speaker 1: all these I've ever known him, he's always been the
- 4:47Speaker 1: same person that he challenges you to be better. He
- 4:51Speaker 1: reminds the thing people say, he's always the same pleasure.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Who else is he gonna be? What options do you have?
- 4:59Speaker 1: You know, you if you show you're gonna be the
- 5:02Speaker 1: same short person. I feel comfortable in my own skin,
- 5:06Speaker 1: But what else skin are you gonna be comfortable in? Now?
- 5:10Speaker 1: Tell me? Aybody going back to Las Vegas. Now, you
- 5:12Speaker 1: missed Las Vegas there for a minute, and then you
- 5:14Speaker 1: then you told Roshan, you know it kind of got
- 5:16Speaker 1: I wanted to travel the world again. So you kind
- 5:19Speaker 1: of signed like you're doing a little bit of both,
- 5:21Speaker 1: you staying in Las Vegas and the Las Vegas where
- 5:23Speaker 1: you're at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort in Casino. So
- 5:26Speaker 1: why did you go back to Vegas like that? Well,
- 5:29Speaker 1: you know, I owned the show for ten years in
- 5:31Speaker 1: Las Vegas. The only black African American. I said black
- 5:34Speaker 1: African monthan back on the Black African America. That's the
- 5:39Speaker 1: same person there, George. Okay, well I went a way
- 5:44Speaker 1: movie the Gentleman. You know, I was working with Morgan,
- 5:47Speaker 1: like I told you, I never I don't know, Joe,
- 5:50Speaker 1: You're not gonna get away with saying black African American.
- 5:55Speaker 1: That's okay, same person. I'm older. Now you want to
- 5:59Speaker 1: see the thing you don't want to? You want to
- 6:01Speaker 1: you want to be right, you know, Okay, couple of
- 6:04Speaker 1: color school you know what, I'm go color flee a
- 6:10Speaker 1: brand new joke. I gotta try with you right now
- 6:12Speaker 1: in n the world. I don't like to using the
- 6:14Speaker 1: N word right, So rether shing here in New York City.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I'm in New York today, by the way. Here you
- 6:21Speaker 1: see him lately. Hey, I'll tell you, man, don't be
- 6:23Speaker 1: messing up my FCC raidings. Don't we need to practice
- 6:27Speaker 1: with Steve Harker show. You don't practice on my I'm
- 6:30Speaker 1: An Up Star jo I'm an up Star show. You
- 6:32Speaker 1: called Steve Harvey, you called Ricky Smiley, you called d L. Hugli.
- 6:36Speaker 1: All those people got syndicated markets. I've just got one Atlanta,
- 6:40Speaker 1: George and my little podcast and Serious x M. You
- 6:43Speaker 1: can't be practicing new jokes on my show. You better
- 6:45Speaker 1: come with the real stuff that's been approved by the FCC. Okay, Well,
- 6:48Speaker 1: this is the f c C and the m C
- 6:50Speaker 1: and in the whole ut all the jokes we need
- 6:56Speaker 1: to do like that biting you back on my next
- 7:01Speaker 1: year anniversary show. Well, I can't do this joke on
- 7:04Speaker 1: his show in this face. And I love him, but
- 7:07Speaker 1: it's it's just they got you up and they tried
- 7:09Speaker 1: to get a little the inn words. You know, you're
- 7:11Speaker 1: about that. And they had had a funeral for the
- 7:14Speaker 1: inn word for shad, and they pay it over the word.
- 7:17Speaker 1: They put the N word in the coffin, and they
- 7:19Speaker 1: took the inn word in the coffin down to the cemetery.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And they apparently didn't word come on somebody, they in words. Oh,
- 7:30Speaker 1: but on that third day, on that third day that
- 7:36Speaker 1: in words got up. That's enough, that's enough of that, okay.
- 7:41Speaker 1: And then word got up and start walking and talking
- 7:45Speaker 1: like I'm not in word had a little dip because
- 7:50Speaker 1: they had to end in it that you're gonna write y,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you're doing new jokes, you know. But the thing about
- 7:57Speaker 1: is that you know that that what I've what I've
- 7:59Speaker 1: learned the most about you is that you know you
- 8:02Speaker 1: believe in multiple levels of income. You know, you don't
- 8:06Speaker 1: believe in that check just coming from one direction. You'd
- 8:09Speaker 1: always like to have options when you're that way. You've
- 8:12Speaker 1: always told me Rigan, you don't want anybody to dictate
- 8:14Speaker 1: your direction. How do you maintain volntable levels of income
- 8:18Speaker 1: in the entertainment business? Well, I tell what, You've got
- 8:21Speaker 1: a plan. That's what you gotta do. You gotta plan
- 8:24Speaker 1: and be prepared for everything in life, you know. And
- 8:27Speaker 1: I've been working for uh many a year, uh and
- 8:30Speaker 1: I take it better everything I'm supposed to get. I'm
- 8:34Speaker 1: six to five now. I get my attention from I
- 8:36Speaker 1: still get attention from SAG against so security. I get
- 8:39Speaker 1: money from the West Gat. I get money from every
- 8:41Speaker 1: kid got do it and lemon. Every weekend I get
- 8:45Speaker 1: about eight checks. I could learn worth and I don't
- 8:47Speaker 1: do anything but well, I mann check you getting joe
- 8:53Speaker 1: E nine a little. If I hit the lottery, someone
- 8:57Speaker 1: asked me what I changed with you when I hit
- 9:02Speaker 1: the lottery. I would actually if I see the lottery,
- 9:08Speaker 1: I would actually you have called this show today and
- 9:11Speaker 1: it said is not available. I would actually buy a
- 9:17Speaker 1: commercial on a Super Bowl commercial, letting everybody leave me alone.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Agree you're smart, But I'm gonna change my name. I'm
- 9:26Speaker 1: gonna change the telephone number. I'm certainly changing my church affirmation.
- 9:30Speaker 1: They ain't get nothing from me. Don't kill for s
- 9:32Speaker 1: knocking at my job. First of all, if I'm wun't
- 9:34Speaker 1: belong for seven hundred fifty million, I'm buying me a church.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Get what I say I'm buying Joe Longesting. Now he's
- 9:41Speaker 1: trying to tell Joe, I'm gonna buying church from them,
- 9:43Speaker 1: keep telling Jolks on the kill Jolks something, but just
- 9:48Speaker 1: what I wouldn't like, George. I would like to win
- 9:50Speaker 1: seven hund fifty million dollars and be sharing it with
- 9:53Speaker 1: some other people. Yeah, no, no, no, no, you know
- 9:58Speaker 1: you know, no, no, no, I'm talking about. You know,
- 10:00Speaker 1: when you go out there and buy twenty tickets, you know,
- 10:02Speaker 1: you're a little pool the tickets, you know, like twenty
- 10:05Speaker 1: y'all get together and you go out there. I'll really
- 10:07Speaker 1: i'd really be struggling with the people who wont with me.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just selfish like that when it comes
- 10:12Speaker 1: to my money, I'm just a ticket with aunch people
- 10:16Speaker 1: down the bard ain't gonna I'm gonna take that right now.
- 10:21Speaker 1: See see see right there, right there's what I'm talking about.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'll be so nervous somebody won't reveal the truth to me.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Next time I knew, I see George Wallas on TV
- 10:33Speaker 1: accepting my money, excepting your I know, I think we
- 10:43Speaker 1: want Now let's let's let's talk a little bit about
- 10:45Speaker 1: this show, because because I'm kind of mad with you
- 10:47Speaker 1: about the Vegas show, because you know, I love Vegas.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I defied out through my staff that you're back in Vegas.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Then they pulled it up on the screen, you know,
- 10:55Speaker 1: showing how you can get tickets, got that nice little bio,
- 10:58Speaker 1: got your little hat on. Everything that you is kind
- 11:01Speaker 1: of like part of your brain thinking, you know, people
- 11:05Speaker 1: from around the curtain and everything. So what when we
- 11:08Speaker 1: remember previously when you had your Vega show, you was
- 11:11Speaker 1: kind of like a host and you was bringing up
- 11:13Speaker 1: performers and you would also be funny as well, are
- 11:16Speaker 1: you doing the same thing at this show? It was
- 11:18Speaker 1: kind of like Apollo Night, Amateur Night. Correct, Uh, this
- 11:21Speaker 1: is whatever half Thus, you never know who's gonna stop by.
- 11:24Speaker 1: It's still I only have to work for one arm
- 11:26Speaker 1: fifteen minutes one already actually have to work for it
- 11:29Speaker 1: or five minutes, believe it or not. And I just
- 11:31Speaker 1: love going to work and you never know who's gonna
- 11:33Speaker 1: stop by. You know. Of course, my friend sign Zone
- 11:35Speaker 1: was always stopping by, and uh, just everybody in there.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I like the young comings to bring them out to
- 11:41Speaker 1: Chris Paul and Hucky low down and just coming to
- 11:44Speaker 1: the young Committees on radio and television. We're just kind
- 11:48Speaker 1: of fun. Yes, you know you got a couple of
- 11:50Speaker 1: movie coming up. Here they're talking about the last laugh
- 11:52Speaker 1: of Netflix film What's your What's your Drive for us?
- 11:55Speaker 1: And Chevy Chase. Yeah, I also got one with uh
- 11:58Speaker 1: with a bunch of name Cat Williams talking two minutes
- 12:03Speaker 1: of Fame. And since I last talked to you, Like
- 12:05Speaker 1: I said, I did move with Morgan Freeman. Never liked
- 12:07Speaker 1: him and because I think every role he played, I
- 12:10Speaker 1: should have gotten that role. And I'm gonna good a Stacey.
- 12:12Speaker 1: I come stays hell in put Atlanta. I know what
- 12:15Speaker 1: boy the Atlanta Beat does, and I kind of move. Uh,
- 12:17Speaker 1: we just did that funny. You should have asked last week.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But Byron Allen, it's not amazing with Byron Ellen on
- 12:23Speaker 1: the weather station, that's wonderful. That's a moment conversation like that.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I'm trying to get on my show because that that
- 12:29Speaker 1: shows you how you can go from telling Joe to
- 12:31Speaker 1: becoming a man who being paid for the jokes or
- 12:35Speaker 1: the weather chat. And yeah, he owns about thirty fellows.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Did you know that? Absolutely? Well? You know that show
- 12:40Speaker 1: that your own. It's a popular syndicated show. And you've
- 12:43Speaker 1: been on that. Yeah, you're like a staple on that show.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I've seen you several several epiod seven different episodes on
- 12:48Speaker 1: that show. Well you know that. Then I'm also in
- 12:50Speaker 1: Law and Order. I'm also um wis coming to the
- 12:53Speaker 1: stage the whole stats. Uh, I'm just last I just
- 12:56Speaker 1: did that the old UGUALI last week. I love working
- 13:00Speaker 1: and that's why I continue for the past forty three years,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I've been telling jokes. That's wonderful. Well, my man, I
- 13:07Speaker 1: want to just thank you for calling on my anniversary show.
- 13:10Speaker 1: But you know you can call it anytime. I know
- 13:12Speaker 1: you told me Rashean whatever. I'm in the Atlanta let
- 13:15Speaker 1: you know you come by and sit it on my
- 13:17Speaker 1: studio because you've done that for me. You've been an anchor.
- 13:20Speaker 1: You know. When I was trying to put the word
- 13:21Speaker 1: out about to show you didn't hesitate, you came on
- 13:23Speaker 1: my show. You've been supporting me, uh ever since the
- 13:25Speaker 1: show launch by making a conversation in So I'm just
- 13:29Speaker 1: happening to all that for you. I've done all of
- 13:32Speaker 1: that for you. I'll live for you, I clean for you,
- 13:33Speaker 1: I'll feed you. And what do you do for me? Mr?
- 13:35Speaker 1: Man ever got one check Mr Man Sam hit you
- 13:39Speaker 1: on the foot for the sludge cover or George Wallace.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Dr John Waller, I appreciate you and I was. What
- 13:45Speaker 1: I would do is spread the words social media wide
- 13:48Speaker 1: and so helping put more people in that that show
- 13:50Speaker 1: in Vegas. You keep winning. Okay. Listening makes us smarter,
