- 2:06Speaker 1: the voice? Come on dieg me now one and only
- 2:10Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay, I got something
- 2:14Speaker 1: for you today. Uh. This is something that I've really
- 2:18Speaker 1: been focusing on for the past uh a couple of months,
- 2:22Speaker 1: to be honest with you, and uh, I want to
- 2:26Speaker 1: share it with you today because I want to encourage you,
- 2:28Speaker 1: because that's something that's available to you that I've rarely
- 2:33Speaker 1: spoke on before, and it's something that I've been really
- 2:35Speaker 1: really discovering for the past couple of months. And I
- 2:38Speaker 1: can't even tell you the difference is made in my life. Um,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna have a conversation this morning about my understanding
- 2:49Speaker 1: of grace. You know, when I was a little you see,
- 2:53Speaker 1: hear my mother singer song all the time. All I
- 2:56Speaker 1: need is a little more grace, a little more grace.
- 2:59Speaker 1: All I want is a little more grace, a little
- 3:02Speaker 1: more grace. And I you know, I sang it with her,
- 3:05Speaker 1: you know, of course, you know, walking around the house
- 3:07Speaker 1: and stuff, and that we had devotion service. I would
- 3:09Speaker 1: sing it with the church people. But I ain't repay
- 3:12Speaker 1: it no attention. I really really didn't. Now that I've
- 3:16Speaker 1: gotten older and I've come into a better understanding of
- 3:19Speaker 1: a lot of things I didn't know about when I
- 3:21Speaker 1: was younger. This is just my interpretation of grace. Now
- 3:28Speaker 1: once again, y'all listen to me. I ain't nobody's pastor,
- 3:32Speaker 1: I ain't nobody's minister. So you know, I'm pretty sure
- 3:35Speaker 1: you can go to church and get a far more
- 3:38Speaker 1: extensive definition of one I'm giving you. I'm just talking
- 3:41Speaker 1: to people. You know, Grace is this thing that that
- 3:45Speaker 1: God provides for us, and grace it's just things that
- 3:53Speaker 1: you get that's really undeserving, you know. I mean, I
- 3:57Speaker 1: look at my life as it is today, you know
- 3:59Speaker 1: a little. I work hard and I have faith in
- 4:02Speaker 1: God that I do so things are going to happen
- 4:05Speaker 1: in my life. But the way my life is now,
- 4:08Speaker 1: I don't. I don't. I don't deserve all of this.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I don't. I don't. I don't look at it that way.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I have been the beneficiary of God's grace. I have
- 4:18Speaker 1: aligned myself in a position to accept whatever grace God
- 4:24Speaker 1: has for me, and it will be far abundant and
- 4:28Speaker 1: exceedingly in anything you could think of. His grace supersedes
- 4:34Speaker 1: anything you could possibly imagine. You know, the goals that
- 4:38Speaker 1: I set, and the aspirations that I shoot for, and
- 4:40Speaker 1: the things that I have on my dream board. I
- 4:43Speaker 1: have the faith that God give it to me. But
- 4:45Speaker 1: what He does with grace, he gives you far more
- 4:48Speaker 1: than that. He gives you what He has for you,
- 4:51Speaker 1: not what you can see. You can't see all He
- 4:54Speaker 1: has for you. It's impossible. Who are you? How can
- 4:57Speaker 1: you possibly imagine what he can imagine? How can you
- 5:00Speaker 1: possibly think how he can think? How how can you
- 5:03Speaker 1: possibly do what he can do? How can it be
- 5:06Speaker 1: that isn't a single mind living or a collection of
- 5:09Speaker 1: minds that could have thought of Earth? What in your
- 5:13Speaker 1: wildest imagination could have made you think of Earth? The stars,
- 5:18Speaker 1: the heavens, the oceans, the galaxy, the constellations. What in
- 5:24Speaker 1: your mind? What in any man's mind. We can point
- 5:28Speaker 1: at it and analyze it, but we show it couldn't
- 5:30Speaker 1: have thought of it. So come on now, I'm talking
- 5:34Speaker 1: about lining yourself up with God's grace, which he will
- 5:39Speaker 1: give to you, if, if you, if you want some
- 5:41Speaker 1: of it now. But now here's the thing about grace.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It can't be bought. If it could, if it could
- 5:46Speaker 1: be bought, I'm telling you, I would pull all the
- 5:50Speaker 1: money I have and dump it into grace, because, after
- 5:55Speaker 1: discovering what it is, it's this goodness that God's shines
- 6:00Speaker 1: on you simply as a reward of some type for
- 6:05Speaker 1: His love for you and for you attempting for you
- 6:09Speaker 1: attempting to do right, not because you get it right.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Because if He judged us purely on how we are
- 6:16Speaker 1: the right and wrong of it, we would all be doomed,
- 6:19Speaker 1: all of us, every last one of us would be
- 6:23Speaker 1: doomed because we all fall short, we all make mistakes,
- 6:28Speaker 1: we all sin, we all get it wrong from time
- 6:32Speaker 1: to time, nobody's perfect. Man. Now I understand what my
- 6:36Speaker 1: mother was saying about cleaning the house. All I want
- 6:40Speaker 1: is a little more grace. All I need is a
- 6:43Speaker 1: little more grace when the last time you ask God
- 6:45Speaker 1: for some grace. I'm not talking to you like I
- 6:48Speaker 1: know everything, because I'm telling you I just got hip
- 6:51Speaker 1: to this a couple of months ago. I just really
- 6:53Speaker 1: started focusing on this a couple of months ago, and
- 6:56Speaker 1: I'm bringing it to you because I know to help
- 6:58Speaker 1: you if you just benefit from His grace what you
- 7:01Speaker 1: already have. But if you're not aware of it, you
- 7:05Speaker 1: don't know what's going on. Become aware of grace, Get
- 7:09Speaker 1: aware of the fact that God does things for you
- 7:12Speaker 1: simply because He loves you. He does things for you
- 7:15Speaker 1: that you don't even deserve. Somehow, you just wonder how
- 7:18Speaker 1: you just got over when you didn't even do the
- 7:21Speaker 1: things to get over. Sometimes you don't even know how
- 7:25Speaker 1: you got that job you got when you ain't even
- 7:28Speaker 1: really do the things to get the job. How you
- 7:30Speaker 1: end up where you are all the education you thought
- 7:33Speaker 1: you went and God and hey, how you end up
- 7:35Speaker 1: where you are today in a much better position than
- 7:37Speaker 1: your education could have ever gotten. You. That's that's grace.
- 7:42Speaker 1: How I get every place I am today. I didn't
- 7:45Speaker 1: plan this, Man, If I could have planned my life
- 7:48Speaker 1: the way it is, don't you know how to done
- 7:49Speaker 1: it when I was living in that car, if I
- 7:51Speaker 1: knew how to do it. No, I benefited from his grace.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I'm just a beneficiary of his grace, of his goodness
- 8:01Speaker 1: and his mercy. God's goodness is better than your goodness.
- 8:05Speaker 1: God's goodness is better than your mother's goodness. It's better
- 8:08Speaker 1: than your wife's or your husband or your booze goodness.
- 8:11Speaker 1: God's goodness is different. His goodness Man covers some stuff
- 8:17Speaker 1: you can't even imagine. So why are you trying to
- 8:21Speaker 1: put your life together when the last time you asked
- 8:23Speaker 1: him for just a little bit of grace? When have
- 8:27Speaker 1: you thought of your life in terms of the grace
- 8:30Speaker 1: that it has already benefited from? Have you ever done that? Man?
- 8:35Speaker 1: Just thought about you know? You hear songs like my soul,
- 8:38Speaker 1: looked back and wonder how I got over. That's grace,
- 8:41Speaker 1: That's all I can call it now. Like I said,
- 8:43Speaker 1: you can go with church or somewherever you want to,
- 8:46Speaker 1: and ministers that the wind, the school to teach this
- 8:48Speaker 1: thing way better than me. I'm just giving you from
- 8:51Speaker 1: a layman standpoint. Man, have you thought about his grace?
- 8:54Speaker 1: Would you not bewailed to be a beneficiary of his grace?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Would it not st Now? Check this out. The better
- 9:02Speaker 1: you try to do, the more grace he'll give to you.
- 9:06Speaker 1: And that grace can't be bought. Like I said, it's free.
- 9:09Speaker 1: You can't purchase grace. But the better you try to
- 9:13Speaker 1: become the more the more grace he gets to put
- 9:15Speaker 1: your way. So man, just try, why don't you just
- 9:20Speaker 1: try to do better? Look, man, quick, tr mind, I'm
- 9:23Speaker 1: gonna start next week. I'm gonna start at the new year.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Now you're not You do that every year, you know
- 9:28Speaker 1: the vers at the new year, we eat better at
- 9:30Speaker 1: the new year. I'm gonna I'm gonna gonna get in
- 9:32Speaker 1: here and the new year. If you're gonna do it,
- 9:34Speaker 1: you're gonna do it now. Man, you're gonna do not
- 9:38Speaker 1: stop trying to do something, do it, stop talking about it,
- 9:43Speaker 1: do it now. The best way to benefit from his
- 9:45Speaker 1: grace is starting action now in old w now right
- 9:52Speaker 1: now today. What you're weighting on, all you're doing is
- 9:55Speaker 1: delaying his opportunity to bless you know, man, you know,
- 10:00Speaker 1: do you know how many times we do that? We
- 10:02Speaker 1: delay his opportunity to bless us by not starting now?
- 10:07Speaker 1: If you're gonna get healthy, why don't you starting out now?
- 10:10Speaker 1: You're gonna trip a little bit called the holidays coming,
- 10:12Speaker 1: But you ain't got to eat bad all the time.
- 10:14Speaker 1: You could start eating correct today, you could, you could,
- 10:19Speaker 1: and then guess what that could be? Some grace on
- 10:21Speaker 1: the end of that. I'm just giving you a little
- 10:23Speaker 1: cheap analogy. But do you feel what I'm saying to you?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Start thinking in terms of grace, what He has done
- 10:30Speaker 1: for you and provided for you that you don't even
- 10:32Speaker 1: see coming that you know, you keep calling them blessings,
- 10:35Speaker 1: And I got that a lot of it now, it's
- 10:36Speaker 1: all it is. But man, have you thought about the
- 10:39Speaker 1: stuff that didn't happen to you? You can't account for I.
- 10:43Speaker 1: For me, that's been grace and I'm beneficiary of it.
- 10:47Speaker 1: And that's available to everybody that wants. So next time
- 10:51Speaker 1: you're talking to him, just check in with grace. See
- 10:53Speaker 1: what that is. That's that's better than money. You're listening,
- 11:01Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, people all around the world.
- 11:05Speaker 1: This is the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Colex, get this
- 11:09Speaker 1: thing started. Shouldn't straw? Hey, good morning Steve, call it
- 11:14Speaker 1: for real. Good morning, Steve, crew. What's up the Junior Morning?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Let me see how I'm gonna do these last two guys.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Let's try this old fool, old fool. Uh that would
- 11:34Speaker 1: be me. I guess, yeah, older fool. Okay, that would
- 11:40Speaker 1: be me. Because these two fools right here they actually
- 11:48Speaker 1: are actually like, you know, freaking fract They're just buddies.
- 11:51Speaker 1: You know. They paired that to help him. I'm team
- 11:53Speaker 1: Tommy Championships Team, Tommy Championship team. I'm on a championship team,
- 11:59Speaker 1: but I'm yeah inside grow Was it a championship team
- 12:04Speaker 1: before you came? Was always a championship, championship, championship. I
- 12:12Speaker 1: just want to say that I'm happy as a Cleveland
- 12:16Speaker 1: Brown fan. Light at the end of the tunnel. The
- 12:22Speaker 1: draft is over. We've made substantial strides. I'm looking forward
- 12:27Speaker 1: to this upcoming football season and their first win. You
- 12:32Speaker 1: like the quarterback, they too, Yeah I do. I like
- 12:34Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield. Well I thought you wanted that running back?
- 12:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, oh oh, I wanted what I wanted
- 12:41Speaker 1: to Browns to do was pick sa Kwan Barkley at
- 12:44Speaker 1: number one. The Giants and the Jets had the next
- 12:48Speaker 1: two picks. I don't care who they picked. They could
- 12:50Speaker 1: have picked Baker Mayfield and Donaldson. Yeah, we could have
- 12:53Speaker 1: picked big Josh Allen or Josh Rosen. Don't make me
- 12:57Speaker 1: no difference. We'd have had a quarterback that's better had
- 13:00Speaker 1: one we got, and we had baddest dude in draft.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Shekan Parkway. That's what Steve Harvey would have did it. Coach,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I don't know how he's still there. I just I
- 13:10Speaker 1: just don't. I've never seen this happening. No coach wins
- 13:14Speaker 1: one basketball game in two years and continues to coach.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I just I just one game in two years. I
- 13:21Speaker 1: don't know how many games has he lost. Steve thirty thirty,
- 13:25Speaker 1: He lost thirty games. You can't do any job and
- 13:29Speaker 1: still keep your job times. You can't be late thirty
- 13:32Speaker 1: one time. I know, Temmy, if I'm talking about since
- 13:37Speaker 1: we count, what are you talking about bothers me? But
- 13:50Speaker 1: come on, let's be real. I've been later you sometime.
- 14:01Speaker 1: I'm going all the way back to when you used
- 14:04Speaker 1: to be in bed and call in, Well you're going
- 14:07Speaker 1: back to the dog two thousand and one. What she's
- 14:11Speaker 1: absolutely criz no this wait a minute, Tummy. What Shirley
- 14:16Speaker 1: is saying is actually this of the total team, your
- 14:22Speaker 1: number of late and absentees is more than all of ours.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Coming find, come find. Wow, that's Tommy. All right, listen,
- 14:37Speaker 1: it's time for something funny. Funny. Yeah, we'll be back
- 14:42Speaker 1: at thirty two after you're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 14:46Speaker 1: Morning Show. It is time for something funny, guys. You know,
- 14:50Speaker 1: yesterday was the annual Daytime Emmy Awards. It was streamed
- 14:55Speaker 1: live on YouTube. It was hosted by our friend Mario
- 14:58Speaker 1: Lopez and her very own Cheryl Underwood. We love her.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Congratulations girl, Steve, you were nominated for Best Game Show
- 15:08Speaker 1: Host for Family Feud, Family Feud, for Best Game Show,
- 15:12Speaker 1: Best Informative Talk Show Steve Harvey, and Best Informative Talk Show. Okay, uh, Steve,
- 15:19Speaker 1: you couldn't make it, but Jay and Junior were there.
- 15:21Speaker 1: So how did it go? Guys? How did it go?
- 15:25Speaker 1: How did you mean? Oh my god? Why that's so close?
- 15:40Speaker 1: All right? So, so when Steve won, you guys want
- 15:44Speaker 1: to be h We brought home the girl baby, but
- 15:50Speaker 1: you had a speech. I'm gonna my life gonna change
- 15:54Speaker 1: right now and then y'all know I'm gonna be different,
- 15:56Speaker 1: so you made it about you. I'm gonna be different
- 15:59Speaker 1: for real. How different? Y'all gonna see the statue everywhere?
- 16:04Speaker 1: I'm taking the statue everywhere. Group that won the Oscar
- 16:09Speaker 1: for the sound track to Hustle Me three six, they
- 16:13Speaker 1: had their Oscar in a bag and go out to
- 16:16Speaker 1: the party was out hard. H Right, I'm gonna do
- 16:26Speaker 1: the same thing I'm doing, saying that I'm putting a
- 16:27Speaker 1: hole in the head and win around my neck that
- 16:29Speaker 1: when I'm we're gonna have to take this back to
- 16:32Speaker 1: the flavor or I might make a ring out of it. Yeah,
- 16:39Speaker 1: go ahead, Carl. I was gonna ask what did y'all
- 16:42Speaker 1: do yesterday? How did the day go? Because you know,
- 16:44Speaker 1: the stars get ready for the Wars show. We get
- 16:46Speaker 1: to see you know that all day long? That's it
- 16:52Speaker 1: and everyone. Yeah, I called it, but I told him
- 16:55Speaker 1: turn turn on all of us over and over a
- 17:03Speaker 1: Look where I come from, there's nobody I know has
- 17:05Speaker 1: ever been to anything like this. You know what I'm saying.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So you know my name now has changed. Award winning Junior,
- 17:13Speaker 1: don't I have to remember that you addressed me as
- 17:17Speaker 1: Mr Jake, but Mr ja it is a really big thing.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Though he's no longer here, he's kai ear and I
- 17:31Speaker 1: won't hear as much. And can I point out something?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Can I point out something? They are more hyped than
- 17:40Speaker 1: the man. And he didn't even go. I'm just sitting
- 17:47Speaker 1: here listening to these two things, going, oh man, they
- 17:53Speaker 1: that's to be action. You won't though, That's why they
- 17:55Speaker 1: don't have me go no, But yeah, you can't. You
- 17:57Speaker 1: can't make it. So you're sending your representative Junior and
- 18:01Speaker 1: Jay and my daughter, your daughter Laurie and accepted for me.
- 18:06Speaker 1: He was a little embarrassed of the way we acted.
- 18:08Speaker 1: But but Steven, are you sure it wasn't because when
- 18:14Speaker 1: you didn't win that time, the face that you had
- 18:17Speaker 1: on with my family asked me not to go to
- 18:20Speaker 1: no more because when you don't win dead, They was
- 18:29Speaker 1: texting me, let me pick your face. When you didn't win,
- 18:32Speaker 1: you did not need close to understand his lips. After
- 18:40Speaker 1: he told everyone what not to do, he went and
- 18:42Speaker 1: did it. She not winning, it's not what I do.
- 18:48Speaker 1: So when the award go to other way. Just I
- 18:51Speaker 1: don't need to be in the room. I'm not gonnaunderstand it.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I don't know nobody who should get it over me.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I'm not accepting of defeating it's it's it's all wrong,
- 19:05Speaker 1: just so many levels for me. So I stay away
- 19:09Speaker 1: from those things anymore because I just can't. Man, you
- 19:13Speaker 1: are the Westbrook of entertainment. When you leave, he was not.
- 19:24Speaker 1: He had a little he needed a time out. Man,
- 19:33Speaker 1: we understand. So here's my deal. I'm grateful either way.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Really at the end of the nomination, right yeah, because
- 19:40Speaker 1: I just had to come to the terms of all.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I've just come to the realization. I had to realize
- 19:45Speaker 1: two things quickly. You're in it for the awards or
- 19:50Speaker 1: you in it for the rewards. And my life has
- 19:54Speaker 1: become so rewarding that that's why I look at it
- 19:57Speaker 1: right now. I win, you know, whether they give me
- 20:00Speaker 1: the trophy are not a win. You know. I'm grateful
- 20:02Speaker 1: for the for the victories, but I'm also a lot
- 20:04Speaker 1: more accepting of the non victories because it ain't about
- 20:08Speaker 1: wins and losses. See I said this before. When life
- 20:13Speaker 1: ain't a game, this is a contest and you could
- 20:16Speaker 1: get your blue ribbon. All you gotta do is go
- 20:18Speaker 1: to the fair. I'm after fair and I got blue ribbons,
- 20:22Speaker 1: so I'm fine with go ahead. So ain't no more
- 20:26Speaker 1: wins and losses in my life. This is a contest,
- 20:29Speaker 1: and I'm a blue ribbon winner in one of these categories,
- 20:32Speaker 1: and so can you be. You just got to pick
- 20:34Speaker 1: the right category. Everybody's gonna have the biggest pig. Somebody
- 20:38Speaker 1: got going on there with the ripers tomato. Somebody got
- 20:41Speaker 1: to show up with the orange just pumking. Somebody got
- 20:44Speaker 1: to show up there with the strongest chicken. Just get
- 20:47Speaker 1: in your category and go get your heard. Shirley's Bush
- 20:59Speaker 1: got chicken, strongest, best chickless basket of apples? Who do that? People? Sure? Whatever?
- 21:24Speaker 1: The best apple sad and I'm just looking normal, Okay,
- 21:28Speaker 1: to get all these strong chickens out of here. Coming up,
- 21:34Speaker 1: we're gonna have changed church complaints. You know this is Monday.
- 21:37Speaker 1: You know something went down at the church. You're listening
- 21:41Speaker 1: to the Steve Morning Show. Coming up at the top
- 21:45Speaker 1: of the hour, we're going to announce our big winners
- 21:48Speaker 1: and our huge Essence Festival trip giveaway. But of course
- 21:52Speaker 1: it is Monday, and it's time for church complaints. Yes, beat,
- 22:01Speaker 1: oh lord, yeah, Monday moaning to be exactly that's right.
- 22:14Speaker 1: What other ways to start your day? Dann to have
- 22:23Speaker 1: people that you ship with? Yeah, give your time and grace,
- 22:31Speaker 1: dimity that's right, strong jevity strong gevit and hollow peciousness
- 22:42Speaker 1: and hollow peciousness. What is hallo peciousness? Look it up?
- 22:48Speaker 1: Get yourself a thisaurus these words at the don't try
- 22:56Speaker 1: to spell it, oh, deacon pas is holopecious. It's when

- 27:20Speaker 1: for the church to spend money on this six hundred
- 27:22Speaker 1: pounds of No, we can't do that, Deacon coach. Just
- 27:26Speaker 1: last week, we have a kool aid contest, right and
- 27:31Speaker 1: pretty much all the sugar in the city is gone.
- 27:35Speaker 1: It's on the back order. We trouble with sugar, the

- 27:44Speaker 1: and in order for thirty interests to do the iced
- 27:46Speaker 1: tea lemonade competition, we need at least six hundred pounds
- 27:50Speaker 1: of sugar. Yeah, and and and just what I said, Deacond,
- 27:54Speaker 1: we're gonna have to postpone the iced t lemonade competition.
- 27:59Speaker 1: You're going to well, I'm sorry, but we is gonna

- 28:21Speaker 1: like that. So we're gonna have to wait till after all. Right,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I'm moving along here. Our brother Raymond Perkins, who UH

- 29:20Speaker 1: time I saw it wild and I went to have
- 29:22Speaker 1: a prayer to hout for and he was six two,
- 29:26Speaker 1: so I didn't know that was him. He down to

- 29:32Speaker 1: seventy pounds and he he's yeah, his skin and we're not. Yeah,
- 29:38Speaker 1: it's just hanging on him. That's the one. That's what
- 29:41Speaker 1: I didn't want to say that. I didn't want to
- 29:43Speaker 1: see that. I thought it was a job and suit
- 29:46Speaker 1: on him. I'm so sorry. He's gonna be all right.
- 29:56Speaker 1: We won't get him some more we need. Is there

- 49:12Speaker 1: the hell is this about? Nobody who signed me up
- 49:14Speaker 1: for it? Then tell me that much? Uh? So, I
- 49:17Speaker 1: don't have the actual person listed here on who signs
- 49:20Speaker 1: you up, but I do have the number, and you

- 49:51Speaker 1: That that sounds like a much of and I who
- 49:55Speaker 1: the hell gave you my number? That's what I want

- 50:03Speaker 1: is we have to come out there and take a picture.
- 50:06Speaker 1: So I don't wanna, you know, create a problem, but
- 50:09Speaker 1: I have to get a picture of you by next week.

- 50:47Speaker 1: I worked. I worked for l PC, Sir, I worked
- 50:50Speaker 1: for f PC, FCC. Mike, you're not taking no picture
- 50:54Speaker 1: of me. Don't come over here Friday talking about no guy. Piston.
- 50:59Speaker 1: You get pistol and you and I hope they got
- 51:02Speaker 1: Jill got pitt your on file. That's a stupid company

- 51:11Speaker 1: in here for that program. And when I'm growing, I
- 51:14Speaker 1: care about what a picture looked like. Or who has
- 51:17Speaker 1: my guy funeral? That's a nickna. You tell whoever you
- 51:21Speaker 1: work for, they need to go find another my occupation.
- 51:24Speaker 1: That don't make no guy just you're not coming over here, Friday, buddy.

- 53:09Speaker 1: Haven't you go on the funerals and you're like, I
- 53:11Speaker 1: don't think they would have liked that hit. You know
- 53:14Speaker 1: what I'm saying, that's true you're talking about on the program.
- 53:16Speaker 1: On the program, just pick out that got your own.
- 53:23Speaker 1: I'm with you when you're writing, is this the business?
- 53:26Speaker 1: It's a business, you know. I haven't started it yet.
- 53:29Speaker 1: But there's just other Like if radio goals bad, I
- 53:32Speaker 1: could be making funeral pictons. I'm just saying it's the
- 53:35Speaker 1: one we're gonna go with. Back up career, you know
- 53:41Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I got other things I got to do.
- 53:42Speaker 1: I got to get the f PC all right. I
- 53:46Speaker 1: like it a lot, Steve. See, why why do y'all
- 53:54Speaker 1: do all this ignorant stuff? And then waiting this Steve
- 53:57Speaker 1: asked me to say that y'all let this on you
- 54:05Speaker 1: what dog your program for your funeral? I don't care

- 54:23Speaker 1: I want them to put your picture on. No. That
- 54:28Speaker 1: means we vote gone. No, no, no, you still here,
- 54:32Speaker 1: but that will be the most famous you ever being. Alright.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Coming up next is the Strawberry Letters. Subject this is
- 54:40Speaker 1: tearing my heart apart. All right, look like them Calves
- 54:44Speaker 1: are still in it. Them homeboys came through a little
- 54:48Speaker 1: a little scary, but we in it. You're listening to
- 54:51Speaker 1: Steve show Lebron one of the greatest games seven players
- 54:58Speaker 1: to live. Go cal baby. All right, we want to
- 55:01Speaker 1: say congratulations Steve. Daytime Emmy Awards were yesterday. We're so
- 55:05Speaker 1: so proud of you. You were doing your thing. Best
- 55:08Speaker 1: informative talk show host Steve Harvey is what winning all.
- 55:14Speaker 1: That's all it does, is win. Right now, it's time
- 55:17Speaker 1: for the Today's Strawberry Letter. If you do need advice
- 55:20Speaker 1: and relationships on dating, on work, on sex, on parenting,
- 55:24Speaker 1: and more. And they could have both had a crisis
- 55:32Speaker 1: at the same wow, because that was pop ting worthy.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Buggle up, hold on tight, we got it for you. Here.
- 55:51Speaker 1: It is the Strawberry letter, subject this is tearing my
- 55:55Speaker 1: heart apart. Here's Stephen Shirley. I am a thirty seven
- 55:58Speaker 1: year old wife and mother. I have been married for
- 56:00Speaker 1: fourteen years, and my husband and I have four children,
- 56:03Speaker 1: and we are raising a fifth child, which is my
- 56:07Speaker 1: sister's child. Here's my issue. Three years ago, my younger
- 56:10Speaker 1: sister called me and said she was pregnant and she
- 56:13Speaker 1: wanted to terminate her pregnancy because she already had two
- 56:17Speaker 1: children and this pregnancy was unplanned. I talked her into
- 56:21Speaker 1: having the baby, and I told her that my husband
- 56:23Speaker 1: and I would raise the baby for her. My husband
- 56:26Speaker 1: and I were not in the best place financially, but
- 56:29Speaker 1: we were committed to raising the baby. When the baby
- 56:32Speaker 1: was four days old, she came to live with us.
- 56:35Speaker 1: She will be three years old next month. Well, now
- 56:38Speaker 1: my sister has decided that she wants her daughter back.
- 56:42Speaker 1: My husband and I are devastated. We never really, we
- 56:46Speaker 1: never legally adopted her, but we are the only family
- 56:50Speaker 1: that she knows. My sister even put our last name
- 56:54Speaker 1: on the baby's birth certificate when she was born. My
- 56:57Speaker 1: sister is a great mom. I won't i that, but
- 57:00Speaker 1: I know that my husband and I are a little
- 57:02Speaker 1: more stable than she is. Me, my husband, and our
- 57:06Speaker 1: kids have all adapted our lives to care for and
- 57:09Speaker 1: nurture this baby. And this is tearing my heart apart.
- 57:13Speaker 1: What should I do? How can I get my sister
- 57:16Speaker 1: to leave well enough alone and let the child stay
- 57:19Speaker 1: with us? Please advise, this is major right here. I
- 57:23Speaker 1: think this is a really tough one because I'm gonna
- 57:26Speaker 1: tell you, I see both sides here. I empathize with
- 57:29Speaker 1: you the sister. Uh. You and your husband and your
- 57:32Speaker 1: family have made great sacrifices to help your sister UH
- 57:36Speaker 1: raise this child and be there for your sister. Uh.
- 57:40Speaker 1: The child You're the only parents she knows, I'm assuming
- 57:43Speaker 1: since you got her when she was four days old. UM,
- 57:47Speaker 1: But I also see your sister side. Who is her
- 57:49Speaker 1: birth mother, who gave birth to this baby, who is
- 57:52Speaker 1: feeling that maternal and that maternal pull uh to get
- 57:57Speaker 1: her baby? You yourself said in the letter that your
- 58:01Speaker 1: sister is a great mom. You're not going to deny that.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I understand that. UM. You know you have an attachment
- 58:08Speaker 1: to this kid as well, But you already have four children.
- 58:12Speaker 1: I don't know how many children your sister has, but
- 58:14Speaker 1: I will say this, Um, it's going to be tough,
- 58:17Speaker 1: but you have to think of the child. You have
- 58:20Speaker 1: to think of the child, what would be best for
- 58:22Speaker 1: the child, and if it's going to be best for
- 58:24Speaker 1: that child to be with his mom, be with her mother.
- 58:29Speaker 1: Children make adjustments very quickly, they adapt very quickly. Um.
- 58:34Speaker 1: You know, I say, stay in her life as her
- 58:37Speaker 1: aunt and let the the your children, and her dad
- 58:40Speaker 1: stay in the family. I mean, you're not going anywhere
- 58:43Speaker 1: because you are her aunt. So I would say, since
- 58:46Speaker 1: you didn't illegally adopt her and the sister wants her,
- 58:52Speaker 1: I guess, give the sister, give the baby back to
- 58:54Speaker 1: the mom. This this is really tough because no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 59:02Speaker 1: it's not tough. It's nothing here, there's no adoption. It's
- 59:06Speaker 1: her baby. Um, she wants the baby back, and the
- 59:09Speaker 1: baby gotta go back to the mom. It's it's it's
- 59:13Speaker 1: tough with because of her feelings for the child. But
- 59:17Speaker 1: the decision, it's it's a no brainer. This is not
- 59:20Speaker 1: gonna hold up in a court of law or anywhere.
- 59:23Speaker 1: You're not even talking about taking it to the court
- 59:25Speaker 1: of law. I got you all, Thank you all the
- 59:27Speaker 1: more stable it's her baby. Too bad. She gave it up,
- 59:32Speaker 1: but you talked her into keeping the baby. So now
- 59:37Speaker 1: she kept her baby. Now she wants the baby back. Man,
- 59:41Speaker 1: I said this Strawberry letters over really really quickly, because
- 59:45Speaker 1: there's nothing we can say, any damn thing we can say. Yeah,
- 59:50Speaker 1: give the back. But but to me, it's tough because
- 59:52Speaker 1: I can see both sides, and I know of situations
- 59:55Speaker 1: like this. It's tough for the people that raise the
- 59:58Speaker 1: baby as their own to the baby as well. You know,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I mean, how are you not gonna give it back?
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: What's she gonna come over there and you're gonna what
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: d you give? You give the baby back? They didn't
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: even legally adopt her, as she noted in the letter.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: But you know, and like I said, you have to
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: think of the child, and the baby will make those
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: adjustments I'm not talking about. Did y'all see me get
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: on this letter and just be directing blunt. This ain't
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: the time to play because this lady don't want to
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: give up this child. Now. You two foods have done
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: enough this morning. That's what happens when you happens if
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: your side piece died and you at the house crying
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: un controlling. That's a legitimate. That's that's why we give y'all.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Y'all's moments the straw pat let us stay your ass out.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: That is just born. I want my baby back. I'm
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: not all right. Damn foods every gets in your name.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: He didn't know everything is them too saying that. Steve,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: she's saying, give me bad. Not on the move, Ja
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: not now, Emmy nominated JA for that. You gotta play
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: for everything, Jay. These people are in a precarious positions.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: It's messed up for everybody on every angle. They've grown
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: adopted to the little girl the other kids love and
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: they want maybe back. Say time your damn real, so
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: say no murder. Say what you're saying again, give me
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: my bad. They had to get up? Are you saying
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: they had to get her from some all? She's saying,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: he didn't. You've made your point. He stopped, Steve, he
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: might fire all three. You don't want to give me
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: the baby back. Maybe you might understand this doing in
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: a song. You gotta be at least hungry, all right,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: Listen Steve saying this, it's just that simple giver of
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: the baby back. So we'll wrap Part two coming up.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: here we are with part two of this strawberry letter. Uh,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: this is tearing my heart apart, but we really don't
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: need a part two. Um, you know, we both agree.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I think it's tough. Steve doesn't think it's so tough.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: We've both agree though, that she should give the baby back. Um, God,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: why did I say that? I don't know it, but
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: thank you, but we gotta get out of here. Listen. Uh,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: email us your strawberry letters, your issues, your parenting issues,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: just like this young lady did to Steve Harvey. F
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: M and click submit strawberry letter. Okay, we're gonna switch
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: gears now, Jay, so you won't sing that song. You
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: can get on. Steve nerves some big headlines from the
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: NFL draft. Steve, we have to say congratulations to one
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: handed Oh oh, to the guy that's one hand, to
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: the one handed lines board that's to really get on
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: this championship team. He said, the man drafted. I said
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: a big hand for hell. No, I said, we have
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: to say congratulations to one handed linebacker Shakin Griffin. And
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: then you said a hand for him. He'll join his
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: twin brother Shaquille and play for the Seattle Seahawks. Yeah. Man, yeah,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: if you recall Shaquille Shakim ran the forty yard dash,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: uh in four point thirty eight seconds. That four point
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: three four point eight seconds, girl, Well that's that's what
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: he ran it in four seconds, the forty yard dash.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: That's the same thing that you and Tommy did, right,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: same point thirty eight seconds is what you see. Well,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I'm just looked like I was running at four point
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: three eight six, No idea. I don't know what Tommy
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: looked like. What should I say? Hanna say it? Yeah?
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: What should have four point three eight? Oh not fourt
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Do you know this boy would still be out there
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: four point thirty eight seconds. If you run a full
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: forty yard dash with thirty eight seconds attached to it,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: you you won't be in the NFL, you won't be
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: playing you can't play table tennis. Oh my mad and
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I really care? Okay, alright, so four point three that's
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: how you say it ran the forty yard dash and
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: four point three seconds at the combine, the fastest time
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: by a linebacker in more than a decade. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: so congratulations, Yeah, it's running backs that don't have that time. Yeah,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: he's fast. A lot of players don't have that. Now,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: do you think he'll do good Steve, Yeah, I think
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: he does. Yeah, he will. In Coge he did real good.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: He has a determination. I mean, I understand the shortcoming
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: to people are thinking he's missing his left hand. It's
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: a left hand is missing. So if a play goes
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: to the left and the ball goes just over his
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: outstretched hand to the left, we got a problem. So
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: a lot of people passed on that. Oh yeah, I
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: mean you just gotta look at it. You're don't fool
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: a lot of people. I mean, I mean, I mean
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: you know, I mean you could tip a ball, bat
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: a ball down. You know, shoe string tackles somebody with
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: your left hand. He doesn't have that, so he has
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: to make up for that. And I think his speed
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: compensates for that. That's fantastic. And his heart determination, He's
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: been unstoppable since then. I just think this kid has
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: it many and to the physically challenged everywhere. I mean,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: you know what a booth, this is great, this is great.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: I like what Pete Carroll said, though Pete Carroll said
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: he drafted him because he said well, what he hasn't
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: shown me what he couldn't do. Right, we take a
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: coach of he hadn't shown us nothing he couldn't do. Wow,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: m that means a lot, because because you have all
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: your limbs and everything. Yeah, but you only got half
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: a bread and I took a real chance, you know,
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: and he might have his whole hand. But I tell
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: you what, in the one, the two he got ain't
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: the size of one. So we got we got that
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: little racco hand boy on this radio trying to hold
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: this grad big old MI great, big old Mike. Yeah,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Tommy put his hand on that Mike man like he
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: holds the rain barrel for you. So, Tommy, you and
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: your kin got something in common. Got both challenged. Shut up, Julie,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: you bought it up and in the same area every
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: since they got nomine yesterday. Make you see things differently
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: when you're not really I see it differently. Player. What
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: makes him amazing is he doesn't have a hand. What
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: makes you amazing is it looked like you ain't. Guy. Really,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: you're just not gonna let it go. He just can't
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: go move and go on. He can't. Okay, I'll move on.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Let's go well we got times. Did you want to
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: talk about Cleveland in the draft? You talked about it
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: earlier in the ship. Yeah, we have a chance here.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: We got a really really good quarterback. We actually got
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: a great running back in uh Nick Chill. Yeah, we
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: got it. That boy is a running back. Everything sorts
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: many nomination. You know. Let me ask you this, so
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: you know you had a problem with man Zille because
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: he had he had plenty of drama. Does this Quarterback
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: hour drama had some drama. Yeah, he's had some drama.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: He's good. He just did a couple of mistakes, you know.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Talking about Baker Mayfield, the number one draft choice for
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: the Browns. They got mad at because he planned to
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: hold you flag in the middle House state thing. They
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: targeted that and then he ran from the police one
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: time and got tased. He lucky wasn't black. Yeah, I
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: was just thinking, yeah, all right. Coming up in ten minutes,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about the White House Correspondence Dinner the
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: House comedian Michelle Wolf. She drew some laughs, she drew
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: some gas, but did she go too far? We'll talk
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: about you're listening to the string show. Coming up at
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: the top of the hour, guys, we're gonna have sports
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: talk with Tommy uh, the NBA A playoffs, and Steve
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: is gonna talk about the NFL Draft some more because
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: he's pretty happy right now. But also, for the second
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: straight year, President Trump declined to attend the White House
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Correspondent Dinner. Uh. You know, they have their annual event,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: and he declined for the second time in a row.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: UM A charitable dinner, that's what it is to celebrate
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: journalists and the First Amendment. The President was in Michigan
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: campaigning for upcoming midterm elections. Anyway, Comedian Michelle Wolf from
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: UM Yeah, she's an alumni from the Daily Show. She
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: ripped into the Trump administration. We are graced with Sarah's
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: presents tonight. I have to say I'm a little starstruck.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: I love you as aunt Lydia and The Handmaid's Tale
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: my pen. If you haven't seen it, you would love it.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Every time Sarah steps up to the podium, I get
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: excited because I'm not really sure what we're gonna get,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: you know, a press bree thing, a bunch of lies
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: or divided into softball teams at shirts and skins, and
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: this time, don't be such a little Jim across stop.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: And I'm not really sure what to call Sarah Huckaby Sanders.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: You know, is it Sarah Sanders, Is it Sarah Huckabee Sanders?
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Is it cousin Huckabee? Is it anti Huckabee Sanders? Like
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: what's uncle Tom? But for white women who disappoint other
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: white women? Oh, I aunt culter. I actually really like Sarah.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: I think she's very resourceful, Like she burns facts and
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: then she uses that ash to create a perfect smokey
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: I like, maybe she's born with it. Maybe it's lies,
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: it's probably life. Maybe it's miss mccollun. She said, Miss
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: mccollun couldn't be hit a nice he swigging he win.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, do you think you good host that? Steve?
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Of course you can, but I mean we could want to. Yeah.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: Now I couldn't do that because I don't know enough
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: about the people. Well, it's what even nominated writers, Yeah,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: she had writers. I'm sure I can't do it though,
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: it's not I want you to do. I want that's
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: what I want you to do. You mean you don't, No,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: it's nothing in it. How do you win? How do
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: you you can't win? Well, I don't care. I don't
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: All all they do is talk about everybody ain't gonna
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: change nothing. He's steal a president and stuff. But I
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: want to say that ain't on me. It's like a roast. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: it is how you roasting? Yeah, and you know what,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: some people are saying that, you know, Sarah Sander, she
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: took it. She sat there and took all of that.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: She didn't walk out. I mean yeah, she took it.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: And she you know, live TV so to speak, on
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: c SPAN, and so people are saying, did she go
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: too far? You know? Or some are saying, because administration,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: you can't go there. But don't they say that every
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: time they have one of these every year they say that.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: Every year they say that, but they know what it is.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: They invited and then they sit there and go, she
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: went too far. It's no such things. This is a roast.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Every year people get roasted. Stop having the damn dinner
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: if you don't want to get talked about. But the
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: monk fish, she said, it's like a plawn star having
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: sex with Let's just get over you know that. Yea. Why,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I'm just get tell you what. You can't be scared though,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: you can't you gotta say it. Yeah, you gotta. And
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: that's why, Steve, that's why I thought about you, Steve,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: because you're never here. It's no way I could do it, though,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: because what I would say coming out of my mouth,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: I shut the room. Do worse than this, worse than
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: what she said, because she went in first song. I
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: would first open it with the song. And what would
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: that song read? Jay is stupid? What would that? What
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: would that song be? Stupid? I can't do you could
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: do it, You could do it. I'm not going to Oh,
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: I know what song he's talking about. Yes, yes, you
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: can do that. That would set the mood right there.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: We don't know what y'all talking about. You're gonna have
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: to get the album. I would open the song with
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Celo Grave, so forget you, fool for you, forget you
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: as you walking out waiting for gets you as the
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: clean version, the radio version, definitely you could lay that
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: out all right. Listen, Michelle Wolf shocked Washington and like,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: that's it, go ahead that you had to get out
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour. This is
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: for youth sports fans. It is sports talk with the nephew,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: uh Tommy, we'll talk about the NBA playoffs and the
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: NFL Draft. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Tommy,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: this is on you. Your uncle gave you this segment
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Sports Talk with Tommy. Cleveland Cavaliers go to the next phase. Baby, Yeah,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: here come to Toronto. Let's go. Lebroad and New Cals.
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: Were need a full strip, but we in day draw, Tommy,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: we did. Boy, I gotta give it up. Lebron James
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: did it again Game seven babies, Yes, he did in
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Cleveland yesterday did the dog? How do you feel like?
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: You ought to feel pretty good? Then you got to
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: your first round draft pick. Man, you got out of
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be hard for the Camps this year.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: He ain't got enough supporting cash right now. So I'm
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: just waiting on the end right now. Okay, y'all celebrate
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: that victory. But you know, for us in the calms
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: Round one playoffs is not what we're here for. We're
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: championship quality. Oh I like that, man, You know we
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: don't do that in Cleeve Championship. You think if your quarterback,
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: if your quarterback don't work out, maybe Lebron can go
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: overe No, No, Lebron's not a football player on school. No, no, no, no,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: that boy played football at school. Player. You didn't miss
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: all these highlights you need. You need to google that
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: you need if he was a football player, time and
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: he'd be playing football. He's the greatest basketball player on
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: the plas athlete. He's an athlete. Boy, can go he
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: could play football? No he couldn't. You didn't see that
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: he could play football in high school. That don't mean
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: you can play in college in the pro. Everybody in
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: the pros, all right, he just said thing' got man?
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Huh no, no, no, no, no, stop saying that. Man.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Have you ever heard anybody say lebron ja when football player?
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: Isn't this food right here? Lebron James played football? And
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: guess whoever Allen Ivason played? Was a quote the back
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: in high school. I'm telling you these boys with ballers,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: y'all boat sound man. But junior and junior, surely let
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: me ask you this because you know nothing about sports.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: No me, I'm with you, both of you. But question
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: if ellenor Oveson and Lebron James was such great football players?
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: Were they not really known for being the best basketball
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: players at their position, as that's why they met they
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: chose that Lebron James was the number one basketball player
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: in the country when he was in high schooling against
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: that the number one could he wasn't number one football player? No,
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: they could not have no. Okay, all right, okay, this
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: is sports talk. Yeah, this is anger. Okay, all right,
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: this is anger. Sports talk. This is and then you
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: know what, it's not gonna steal my joy because my
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Rockets beat the damn you taught jazz just today. So
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: let me tell you some baby, what the ship is
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: here in the lamb? The sheep you like? Your name
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: is shepherd to I love it his name, he looks
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: it's the shepherd boy, yep man? What is your man
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: about the shepherd? He's the shepherd and those are his
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: sheep up there? What are you talking about? Thank you?
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: And and just to make you a little bit more angry, junior,
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: I brobed boy, lost you about Golden State on the
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: side you did? Come on? Tell you I got around boy,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: sat there and lost by beyond. Boy sounds like a
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: marmal superhero man. His name is Anthony Davis in New Orleans.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: I prowed boy is listening and we need to get
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: it together. If you're gonna be going I Browed Boy,
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: I need you to win this one. You're the dude.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: You you want to go fishing because guys who went
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: fishing Greeky Greeky win fishing greeking from milwalking the boy
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: fishing other things. I gotta ask you, man, tonight is
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Philly against Boston. Tell me what you think, big dog.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: I'm really really surprised at Philadelphia. I thought their lack
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: of experiencing youth would slow them up. I just found
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: out that them young boys don't care. They do not care.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: I was thinking that without Kyrie irving, Philadelphia has a
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: chance to beat the great Boston Celtic franchise Philly. And
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: I am pulling for Philly in this series because I
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: understand that we're on in Philly on one oh five
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: point three w D A S And we own in
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: New Orleans and we ate all. So you need to
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: keep that in the consideration as your comedy career progresses
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: around the world. What are you saying, I brow Boy
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: won't come to one of my shows when I go
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: to and you know he's in the audience. You can't
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: wait for you to meet Ebrowed Boy because he gonna
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: make yours touched too, and it will be because his
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: belt bucer gonna scrape cross now. All right, So basically
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: you're saying, you're saying out of the out of the East,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: it's definitely gonna be Philadelphia. I can't see anybody beating
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: Philly right now. If the Cavaliers had their supporting cast,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: if everybody was healthy, I would pick the Cavaliers. But
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: they're not. George Hill keeps getting hurt, Kevin Love ain't.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: The other boys is out that they got on the trades.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: It's just it's it's it's it's just tough for them
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: right now. J R. Smith came by. I don't know
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: what's happening with him. Come on, and a lot of
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: time getting tattoos, hit the three ball every night and
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: wants every one out the three happened, I could hit it.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: I can't hit the three point every now and then,
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: I promise you I can't. Yeah, I can't hit one.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: And that's not what he's there for, paying me to
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: hit him or not. And then you're right once you're
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: doing something, and then you ain't winning. All right. Thank
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: you Temmy for sports Talk. Thank you everyone coming up
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: and twenty after, we're gonna talk about do it yourself
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: these millennials. A twenty two year old woman delivered her
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: baby by watching a video where on YouTube you can
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: do anything by watching YouTube. Right after this, yeah, yeah,
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: I see your faces. You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: Well listen, talk about d I y do it yourself.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: A twenty two year old first time mom. Her name
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: is Tia Friedman. She's from Tennessee. Uh got a got
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: on a flight to Istanbul, Turkey. Is Simbul, Turkey. She
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: had a seventeen hour layover before her connecting flight to Germany. Well,
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: while on the plane, she started to feel some cramping,
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: but assumed it was the airplane food not agreeing with her.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: But when she got to her hotel, she realized that
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: the worsening cramps were actually contractions. Guys, Um, yeah, this
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: is crazy right here, done, done, done. I was waiting
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: for you tell me since she was in a foreign
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: country and didn't know if she would make it to
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: a hospital on time. Uh So, in true millennial form,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: I mean, this is what the millennials do. They have
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: social media at their disposal and they will utilize it. Um.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: She looked up how to deliver a baby on YouTube?
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: Crazy was getting it done right there though, Well everything else,
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: anything you want to know, it's on YouTube. Anything, Carlor,
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: you go to how to make a baby on YouTube,
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: you know that that's everywhere alright. So miss Freeman, Miss
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: Freeman ran a bath. She had a water birth, uh,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: for her son. So there you go. She found out
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: how to do it on YouTube. She went and to
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: the hotel bathroom. She ran a bath. She had a
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: water bath for her son. She even delivered her placenta.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: Looked up how to cut the umbilical cord without tools,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: she sterilized shoelaces. Uh. Who knew you could learn to
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: deliver your own baby on YouTube? I mean this is crazy.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: This is crazy, right, I mean, yeah, you're right, Steve,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: You're absolutely right. I cannot tell human of the Yeah.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: An if this boy ever talks back, do you know
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: what he's gonna hit? Steve? What is he going to hear?
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: What wouldn't know? When I'm what are you? Who? You?
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: Who are you talking to like that? Do you know
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: that I ran water in another country and out some
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: shoe strings set up in prop my lags up one
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: on the TV and the other one on the head
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: board on the video to brand your stupid. If you
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: don't take that trash out, I will wear your man.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: This kid can knough down the toilet. You keep talking
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: to me on the handle. It's boy talk bad at all.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: For some reason, you don't like to take bath. YouTube

- 1:27:46Speaker 1: do yesterday? How did the day go? Because you know,
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: when the stars get ready for the war show, we
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: get to see you know, all day long and everyone
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: I called it, but I told him turn on all
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: of us over and over look where I come from,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: there's nobody I know has ever been anything like this,
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: you know, I'm saying. So it is a really big thing.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: Though it is he's no longer key or he's kai
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: ear and I won't hear as much and can point
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: out something? Can I point out something? They are more
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: hyped than the man. I'm listening and he didn't even go.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I'm just sitting here listening to these two things going,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: Oh man, they just that's to be action. You won't though,
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: that's why they don't have me going. But yeah, you can't.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: You can't make it. So you're sending your representatives Junior
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: and Jay daughter, your daughter, Laurie. He was a little
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: embarrassed of the way we acted. But but Steve, are
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: you sure it wasn't because when you didn't win that time,
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: the face that you had, my family asked me not
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: to go to no more because when you don't win, debt,
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: they was texting me, let me pick your face. When
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: you didn't win, you did not need to close to understand.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: He told everyone what not to do. He went and
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: did it. See not winning, it's not what I do.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: So when the award go to other way, just I
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: don't need to be in the room. I'm not gonna
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: understand it. I don't know nobody who should get it
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: over me. I'm not accepting of defeat. It's it's it's
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: all wrong or just so many levels for me. So
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: I stay away from those things and the boy because
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: I just can't. Man, you are the Westbrook of entertainment.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: When you leave, he was not. He had a little
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: fitty You needed a time out, man, all right? Coming
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: up our last break of the day and Steve's closing remarks.
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: Here are our last break of the day, Steve's closing remarks.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: What you got for Steve? Yeah, you know, uh always
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: hopefully what these closing remarks are doing a kind of um,
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: you know, just encouraging people. Really, that's the whole thing.
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: I've got a new thing that I'm going to release.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: Uh it's called brain drops. I'm releasing a new thing
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: that you can get online called brain drops. And what
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: brain drops are an abbreviated version uh of my closing remarks.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: But I'm gonna be releasing them every single day, uh
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: for people just out and about sometimes you know, you
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: just you just need a little bit of some type
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: of encouragement, some type of uplift throughout your day. And
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: that's all it's intended to be. So be looking out
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: for brain drops because I'm gonna be releasing those shortly.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: And so, um, today it's just about success. You know,
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: we talked about it a lot because those are the
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: two things that I know that everybody wants. Everybody wants
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: to be happy and everybody wants to be successful. Those
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: two things. Most people I know want those things right there.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: And so with that in mind, you know, I just, uh,
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: I want to just share this something really really brief
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: with you about success. Three things I want you to
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: keep in mind on your road to success. There are
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: a lot more, but I pulled out these three poignant
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: things that I want people to really expect when it
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: comes to success, because I think some people go about
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: success the wrong way. They go about success expecting the
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: journey to be successful. That's not the way to go
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: about it. The journey is gonna be challenging, The journey
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: is gonna have setbacks, the journey is gonna have disappointments.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: The goal is to become successful, but please don't expect
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: the journey to be successful. Understand what the journey is.
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: So let me give you three things. Number one, adversity.
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: The road to success is filled with adversity. The entire time.
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: You will be having to deal of adversity the entire time.
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: There will be some smooth days for you, but the
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: bulk of the days will have a challenge of adversity
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: in front of you, hands down, without a doubt, no
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: mistaking it. The second part of success that I want
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: you all to understand is rejection. Rejection is a part
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: of success. See when you go about success with the
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: wrong attitude, thinking that all your steps are gonna be successful,
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: it's gonna be very disappointing and disheartening for you. And
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: in those disappointments and hardships and setbacks. You'll think, wow,
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: I'm not successful when you actually are. It's just the
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: process of becoming successful. So rejection is a huge part
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: of it. You're going to be told no on your
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: way to yes. It's very rare that you just get yes, yes, yes, yes, no.
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: You're going to be told no along the road to
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: your yes, So expect to be rejected. I know that
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: it's not going to go your way, Know that everyone's
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: not gonna see your point, know that everyone's not going
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: to agree with you, and know that everybody is not
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: gonna give it to you when you want it or
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: even when you need it. Rejection is a huge part.
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: So we got adversity and we got rejection. The third
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: thing I want you to keep in mind to becoming
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: successful are the sacrifices that are necessary. This is a
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: hard one for a lot of people because sacrificing it's difficult.
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: But in order to get what you want, you're gonna
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: have to give up some things. That that is the exchange.
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: Anytime you want something, you're going to have to give
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: something to get it. There is nothing that you can
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: want in life and you just go get without giving something.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: If you want more people to shake your hand, let's
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: say that's what you want, Guess what you're gonna have
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: to do. You're gonna have to extend your hand to
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: more people in life. You're going to have to give
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: up something to get something. It's sacrifices. You've got to
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: be very very aware of the fact that something will
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: always be required of you. You've all heard the scripture,
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: to who much has given, much is required. Well, listen
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: to this. The requirements are ongoing. If you want the
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: giving to continue, if you don't want the giving part
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: that God has for you, you're gonna have to give
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: up the requirements because to who much has given, much
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: is required. So you're gonna have to get real comfortable
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: with the requirements because guess what, You've been given so
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: many things. So every time you want something, that's gonna
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: be a requirement on your partner. Those are the three
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: things I want you to focus on and think about.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: And I don't want you to take it negatively, but
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: just understand that's on your way to success. That's what
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: it is. That's exactly what it is. Adversity, rejection, sacrifice.
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: If you can get those three things mastered, you'll be successful.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Most people are who are successful, they've mastered that. Those
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: are my closing remarks. Drop it, baby, drop it, drop it,
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: drop it. I like it quiet when I know I
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: like it. You keep on, You're gonna be something one day.
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: I promise you. I'm gonna try. Okay, you just keep
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: at it. Pray my stres no I will. For all
