- 0:00Hi everyone, welcome to another episode and the title for today is on letting
- 0:05go of the old versions of you.
- 0:07So welcome back. Today we're going to talk about something that sounds simple,
- 0:11but in reality can be one of the most difficult parts of growth.
- 0:15And that is letting go of the old versions of yourself.
- 0:18Not just letting go of people, not just letting go of situations,
- 0:21but letting go of who you are used to be. The version of you that stayed in
- 0:26places longer than you should have.
- 0:28The version of you that accept less than you deserve.
- 0:32The version of you that did not know your worth yet.
- 0:35The version of you that was still learning, still trying, still figuring things
- 0:39out, right? So growth requires release.
- 0:43And sometimes the hardest things to release is your own identity.
- 0:47These are parts of you that were built during survival.
- 0:52Parts of you that learn how to cope, how to protect, how to adapt.
- 0:56Maybe you became quieter. Maybe you became more guarded.
- 1:00Maybe you became more people-pleasing. Maybe you became more independent to
- 1:05the point where you stopped asking for help.
- 1:08So those versions of you were not wrong.
- 1:11They were necessary at the time. They help you get through, but not everything
- 1:16that help you survive is meant to follow you into your next chapter.
- 1:21As you continue healing forward, you begin to notice that certain habits,
- 1:26certain mindsets, and certain reactions no longer align with who you are becoming.
- 1:32You begin to feel uncomfortable in spaces that once felt normal.
- 1:37You begin to outgrow conversations, environments, and even parts of yourself.
- 1:42And that can feel confusing because even though you know you are growing,
- 1:47there is still a sense of familiarity in who you used to be.
- 1:52There is comfort in what you know, even when it's not healthy.
- 1:56There is a part of you that may want to hold on, not because it's right,
- 2:00but because it's familiar.
- 2:02And that is where the real work begins.
- 2:05Letting go of old versions of yourself is not about rejecting who you were.
- 2:10It's about honoring your growth.
- 2:12It's about recognizing that you are no longer that person, that you have learned
- 2:17more, that you understand more, that you deserve more, and that staying the
- 2:22same would be a disservice to the growth you have worked so hard to achieve.
- 2:27So sometimes letting go looks like changing how you respond.
- 2:32It looks like choosing silent instead of reacting. It looks like setting boundaries
- 2:37instead of over explaining.
- 2:39It looks like walking away instead of holding on. It looks like choosing a piece instead of chaos.
- 2:46And those choices may feel unfamiliar at first because you are stepping into
- 2:51a new version of yourself.
- 2:53There will be moments when you question yourself. Moments when you wonder if
- 2:58you are changing too much.
- 2:59Moments when you are feel like you don't fully recognize who you are becoming
- 3:04yet and that is okay because growth is not always comfortable transformation is not always clear and,
- 3:12But just because something feels unfamiliar does not mean it's wrong.
- 3:18Sometimes unfamiliar simply means new.
- 3:21And another important part of letting go is releasing the expectation tied to your old identity.
- 3:28The roles you used to play, the way people used to see you, the version of you
- 3:33that others became comfortable with.
- 3:35Not everyone will understand your growth.
- 3:39Some people may expect you to stay the same. Some people may feel uncomfortable with your boundaries.
- 3:45Some people may not recognize you anymore, and that can be difficult.
- 3:49But you are not here to remain who you used to be for the comfort of others.
- 3:54You are here to evolve, and evolution requires change.
- 4:00And as you let go of the old version of yourself, you create space,
- 4:04a space for new habits, a space for healthier patterns.
- 4:09A space for deeper self-respect, a space for alignment, a space for peace.
- 4:14And that space allows you to grow into who you are meant to be.
- 4:19So instead of holding on to who you used to be, begin to appreciate who you are becoming.
- 4:26Begin to trust that this new version of you is more aligned,
- 4:31more aware, and more grounded.
- 4:33Begin to celebrate the small changes, the moments when you choose differently,
- 4:37the times when you respond with clarity instead of emotion, the decisions that
- 4:44reflect your growth instead of your past.
- 4:46So those moments matter.
- 4:48They are proof that you are evolving.
- 4:51You're not losing yourself. You are finding yourself. And that process takes time.
- 4:56So give yourself a grace as you release.
- 4:59Give yourself patient as you grow. Give yourself compassion as you step into the unknown.
- 5:05Because the version of you that you are becoming is worth it you are not who
- 5:11you were and that is something to be proud of thank you so much for tuning in
- 5:16you take care and god bless.
