- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know y'all back a suit, looking back to back down,
- 0:13Speaker 1: giving them like amazing bus things. And it's not me
- 0:20Speaker 1: through good Steve Haring to mother sty don't joy. You
- 0:59Speaker 1: gotta use that turn You gotta turn to turn them out,
- 1:43Speaker 1: got to turn out, turn the water the water. Come,
- 1:58Speaker 1: come on your bab I shall will Good morning everybody
- 2:05Speaker 1: you are listening to the voice, Come on dig me now.
- 2:08Speaker 1: One and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Why
- 2:12Speaker 1: Because God, God is in the blessing business. If you
- 2:18Speaker 1: go get in line, he has something for you. God
- 2:23Speaker 1: is amazing. The plan he actually has for you is
- 2:27Speaker 1: so far greater than you can possibly imagine. It's really
- 2:31Speaker 1: mind blowing. And as I look back on where He's
- 2:36Speaker 1: brought me from and what he's currently doing for me,
- 2:41Speaker 1: all I can do is tell you is God. That's
- 2:43Speaker 1: all I can tell you, Because I tell you right now,
- 2:46Speaker 1: I didn't foresee it. You know. It oftentimes amazes me
- 2:50Speaker 1: when I listened to celebrities when they interview how they say,
- 2:53Speaker 1: you know, I always always thought that this would happen
- 2:56Speaker 1: for me, and I just you know it could be true,
- 2:59Speaker 1: but for me, it's not that way at all. I
- 3:03Speaker 1: didn't imagine it this way. I had a dream of
- 3:11Speaker 1: becoming famous one day, but I had no idea it
- 3:15Speaker 1: would it would ever get to this. It was a
- 3:18Speaker 1: very very simple desire for fame. That is no way
- 3:23Speaker 1: I could have seen all this. There is no way
- 3:26Speaker 1: I am telling you this is. This has been nothing
- 3:30Speaker 1: for me but the grace of God, and all the
- 3:34Speaker 1: times I failed, every time I had fallen, he picked
- 3:39Speaker 1: me up, He dusted me off, and he kept me moving.
- 3:44Speaker 1: It has been an amazing thing to watch God do
- 3:48Speaker 1: what he do. As I look back on my history
- 3:51Speaker 1: and you sometimes look back on your history, you've got
- 3:54Speaker 1: to see, man, wow, what God has done for you
- 3:57Speaker 1: and what He's brought you through to enable you to
- 4:00Speaker 1: be where you are. It is amazing because really, I
- 4:04Speaker 1: mean really real talk. Now, had he allowed all of
- 4:08Speaker 1: the decisions I had made to play all the way out,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I can assure you I wouldn't be here today. But God,
- 4:15Speaker 1: through this grace and mercy, who had a plan for me,
- 4:18Speaker 1: who was just waiting on me to come get in line,
- 4:22Speaker 1: and then he was gonna start empty, and now he
- 4:25Speaker 1: was gonna start shipping out all the boxes in heaven
- 4:28Speaker 1: with my name on it. And man, and what a
- 4:31Speaker 1: great god he is, what a great god he is.
- 4:34Speaker 1: And you have boxes of blessings with your name on
- 4:38Speaker 1: it that he is waiting to ship. But he needs
- 4:42Speaker 1: you to go down there and get in line. That's
- 4:45Speaker 1: what it is. It is not that he has more
- 4:48Speaker 1: boxes for other people than he do you. He got
- 4:51Speaker 1: boxes with your name on it who have never been shipped.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Because you will not get in line to go get him.
- 4:57Speaker 1: You will not ask God for him, you will not
- 5:01Speaker 1: do the things necessary to attain them. We stop our
- 5:04Speaker 1: own blessings. Man, I have been the biggest stopper of
- 5:07Speaker 1: my blessings than anybody else. I can't really get mad
- 5:10Speaker 1: at nobody. I got nobody to blame for my existence
- 5:13Speaker 1: but me. But then at the same time, I can't
- 5:17Speaker 1: take credit for this. I really really can't. I kid
- 5:21Speaker 1: you not. I cannot take credit for it. And if
- 5:24Speaker 1: you ever see me taking credit for it, tap me
- 5:26Speaker 1: on the shoulder, say Steve, pull up. Remember you said
- 5:30Speaker 1: this ain't about you. If you catch me taking too
- 5:33Speaker 1: much credit, you have my permission to stop me now here.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It is the deal, though, and This is what I
- 5:41Speaker 1: want to get through to today, moving forward while under attack,
- 5:50Speaker 1: new level, new devil. You know, every time you go somewhere,
- 5:54Speaker 1: every time you try to progress, every time you make
- 5:57Speaker 1: a decision to be better, to do better, that's going
- 6:00Speaker 1: to be a confrontation you're going to have because it
- 6:03Speaker 1: is the enemy's job to not see you go forward,
- 6:06Speaker 1: do better. Won't more behave yourself? There is a force
- 6:11Speaker 1: that is operative out there that has people working on
- 6:15Speaker 1: his behalf twenty four seven. You got a computer, go
- 6:19Speaker 1: go read a blog. Just go read a blog. They're
- 6:21Speaker 1: busy man, not knowing, but just saying evil stuff constantly.
- 6:28Speaker 1: That's a job. Well, here's what happens. I you. We
- 6:35Speaker 1: have to always keep moving forward while we're under attack,
- 6:42Speaker 1: because the attack is going to always come. If you
- 6:47Speaker 1: allow the attackers to stop you, you will lose that
- 6:51Speaker 1: particular battle. And you cannot afford this. You know. My
- 6:56Speaker 1: father used to say, be careful when you're trying to
- 7:00Speaker 1: kick somebody off the ladder, because you got to take
- 7:02Speaker 1: your foot off too, and you might slip. And so
- 7:06Speaker 1: when people are taking their feet off the ladder, most
- 7:09Speaker 1: of them, more the majority there may't even own a ladder.
- 7:12Speaker 1: They just at the bottom throwing stuff up at you.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They are just shaking your ladder. They ain't even they
- 7:18Speaker 1: ain't even on your level. Really tell you the truth,
- 7:20Speaker 1: they really not. You have moved on far beyond them, spiritually, physically, everything,
- 7:26Speaker 1: but they are still shaking your ladder and attacking. You.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Keep moving forward while under attack, because the attacks are
- 7:34Speaker 1: going to come. If you take the time to stop
- 7:36Speaker 1: and address it, you are impeding your own progress. This
- 7:41Speaker 1: is very important to understand. Go on about your business
- 7:46Speaker 1: and remember Steve Harvey, and remember those of you out there.
- 7:50Speaker 1: There is a Bible verse that helps me out every time.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And I don't know why. I got it on six
- 7:55Speaker 1: different plaques sitting all around my offices. Everywhere I go,
- 7:58Speaker 1: I can read it Isaiah fifty four seventeen. No weapon
- 8:02Speaker 1: formed against me, She'll prosper that because this is that
- 8:06Speaker 1: he will put me under his wings or protection. And
- 8:09Speaker 1: this is my inheritance as a servant of the Lord period.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I'm his boy, he my man, so so dig so
- 8:20Speaker 1: when you come in for me, I have to just
- 8:23Speaker 1: rest on that Lord right there, that he got it
- 8:27Speaker 1: that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I'm just
- 8:30Speaker 1: like you. Sometimes you know we know better, but sometimes
- 8:33Speaker 1: we don't do better. Man, let them say what they're
- 8:36Speaker 1: gonna say. When they get through saying it, when they
- 8:38Speaker 1: get through writing it, when they get through talking about you,
- 8:41Speaker 1: when they get through lyne about you. Guess what they're
- 8:44Speaker 1: gonna have to do. They're gonna have to step back
- 8:46Speaker 1: and watch your rise. They're gonna have to kick back
- 8:49Speaker 1: and watch what God got for you, because nothing God
- 8:52Speaker 1: got for you. Can't nobody stop it. I don't care
- 8:54Speaker 1: what they do. Keep moving forward while under attack. You're
- 9:01Speaker 1: somebody tell you something, man. Minister Lewis fair Khan taught
- 9:05Speaker 1: me something very important one day, he says, Steve, remember this.
- 9:09Speaker 1: He said. It is a common thing for a dog
- 9:14Speaker 1: to bark up at the moon. But if the moon
- 9:18Speaker 1: balks back at the dog, the dog becomes famous. You
- 9:22Speaker 1: feel me, the moon was talking to you. What did you?
- 9:26Speaker 1: How did the moon stop and talk to you? Don't
- 9:29Speaker 1: give them that. Let the dog bark up at the moon.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Don't you be up there? You go where God got
- 9:35Speaker 1: you going. Don't bark back at this dog because the
- 9:37Speaker 1: dog come famous because they ain't gonna be able to
- 9:39Speaker 1: get to you. But the dog is famous. Now they
- 9:40Speaker 1: want to interview the dog. Not a dog. Guess what
- 9:43Speaker 1: he gonna do? More bark and guess what about you? Man?
- 9:46Speaker 1: Gone about your business, y'all. God is in the blessing
- 9:49Speaker 1: business all day long. Man, Go get in line, get
- 9:53Speaker 1: you some get them packages and boxes ship to you.
- 9:56Speaker 1: They got your name on it. Morning Show, Ladies and gentlemen.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I don't know what you've been looking for, but it
- 10:06Speaker 1: got hill. It has a ride. It's called moaning. It's hill.
- 10:12Speaker 1: It is a pot us. It's phrased as a new date,
- 10:15Speaker 1: a new chance, a new beginning, an opportunity, the land
- 10:19Speaker 1: of greatness and gratitude were in it, ain't you glad?
- 10:23Speaker 1: I know I am. Ladies and gentlemen. This to Steve
- 10:26Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Make no mistake about it. Badest radio

- 11:58Speaker 1: around with his ass gonna be You're gonna be, yeah, dog,
- 12:07Speaker 1: just shitting up in the front where everybody seem as
- 12:09Speaker 1: soon as they get on. Ain't nobody gonna believe it?
- 12:11Speaker 1: If you sit on the front seat. Ain't nobody gonna
- 12:13Speaker 1: because you know, don't nobody look at the front seat.
- 12:15Speaker 1: They get on, see where they're gonna sit there, ain't
- 12:17Speaker 1: gonna know with me? And I'm gonna have mask on.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I don't know why I'm lying. I'm not
- 12:22Speaker 1: fit to do that. It be funny. It will be
- 12:28Speaker 1: even bus eighty eight and film it. You'd have to
- 12:32Speaker 1: film it for sure. You hold on stee it's a
- 12:35Speaker 1: bump coming up at the right turn. Hold on dout.
- 12:38Speaker 1: That'd be interesting. Man. I was thinking about that time
- 12:41Speaker 1: coming going down there and see my boys. Hell, I
- 12:43Speaker 1: can play golf with time. Love that, love that. Then
- 12:48Speaker 1: you can bite them over to the chateau toime. I
- 12:50Speaker 1: ain't never seen I'm coming, y'all. I ain't never seen

- 12:57Speaker 1: gonna get here before you get there. Calling. Now, let
- 12:58Speaker 1: me tell you something and mask don't call him. Yes, Steve,
- 13:03Speaker 1: Steve Tommy lives far north. I live far south, so
- 13:07Speaker 1: he lives an hour away from me. Okay, okay, So
- 13:13Speaker 1: let me ask you a question. If I'm staying in
- 13:16Speaker 1: the in the gallerya air which it only read on

- 13:21Speaker 1: far is after your house? Tommy to five minutes? That's

- 13:29Speaker 1: gonna make sure you're gonna you're gonna play at the Chetel. Tommy,
- 13:35Speaker 1: all right, uh coming up in thirty two minutes after
- 13:39Speaker 1: the hour, asked the CLO Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey
- 13:42Speaker 1: in the building. Right after this, you're listening to Steve
- 13:46Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. All right, guys, time for ask the
- 13:49Speaker 1: CLO Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey. Steve, this one is
- 13:53Speaker 1: from Miracle in Duval County. I'm saying like that she
- 13:58Speaker 1: come on. I know I was waiting three two one
- 14:09Speaker 1: all right. Miracle writes, I'm a thirty year old newly
- 14:13Speaker 1: wed and this is my first marriage. My husband has
- 14:16Speaker 1: been married before, and he's still friends with his ex wife.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I didn't mind at all because he never saw her
- 14:23Speaker 1: until recently. We closed on our house last week and
- 14:26Speaker 1: he was there while the alarm was being installed. When
- 14:29Speaker 1: we got back to our apartment, he said his ex
- 14:31Speaker 1: wife stopped by to see the house because she saw
- 14:34Speaker 1: on Facebook that we got the house. He said, he
- 14:36Speaker 1: showed her around and she loved it. I was livid.
- 14:41Speaker 1: How can he be so stupid? Who should I be
- 14:44Speaker 1: more upset with her or him? Well, you're not married
- 14:48Speaker 1: to her, right, So y'all by a house clothes only
- 14:55Speaker 1: she in the house for you? Get there, right? But
- 15:00Speaker 1: you forget on Facebook. Don't forget they put it on Facebook.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I don't care what you can't come in here, just
- 15:07Speaker 1: my wife house, see see doc, I don't care if
- 15:10Speaker 1: y'all offer is when you buy the house, it's not
- 15:13Speaker 1: your wos no more right, doc, Really, I'm telling you
- 15:17Speaker 1: technically that's her house. Get a divorce, and I'm gonna
- 15:20Speaker 1: show you who the house going back? How well? You know?
- 15:27Speaker 1: I mean houses for some people social media? Yea, they
- 15:35Speaker 1: all gone. All the house I'll builds gone. You're balling now,
- 15:39Speaker 1: It's all good. It's all good. Everything I look back
- 15:44Speaker 1: on I lost, God gave me ten folds. I'm all good.
- 15:49Speaker 1: That's a good thing about it. Man. And some Grayson
- 15:51Speaker 1: mercy and you could be on your way. But when
- 15:54Speaker 1: you get the Grayson mercy, now get on. Don't lay
- 15:56Speaker 1: around wallet in it. Yeah. I is your ex for
- 16:01Speaker 1: a reason. Yeah, and you don't have to post everything.
- 16:06Speaker 1: He's stupid. Your ex wife ain't got no business in
- 16:10Speaker 1: your new house with your wife though. Yeah, but she
- 16:15Speaker 1: know it. Thought girl, he had me come over that house.
- 16:21Speaker 1: See what I thought. I've seen it. Huh All we're
- 16:24Speaker 1: moving on? Uh Tanya and Montgomery says. I'm twenty seven
- 16:28Speaker 1: years old and I've been with my boyfriend for three years.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I really want to get married and have at least
- 16:33Speaker 1: two children. My boyfriend doesn't want to get married until
- 16:36Speaker 1: he completes grad school. We were on the same page
- 16:39Speaker 1: with religion, and we're saving money to get a nice
- 16:42Speaker 1: home one day. There's just one thing that's really bothering me.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I've never met his parents in the three years we've
- 16:49Speaker 1: been dating. I don't want us to break up, but
- 16:52Speaker 1: this is so not cool. Is he just stringing me along?
- 16:57Speaker 1: I'm just saying I don't know now. If they live
- 17:01Speaker 1: out of town, I understand, But if everybody they're in
- 17:06Speaker 1: the gun, Yeah, we got a damn problem. Now, I've
- 17:11Speaker 1: been in Montgomery. It ain't that damn big now. I
- 17:14Speaker 1: like Montgoverny. They got some good people down there. The
- 17:17Speaker 1: late great my best friend Greg Calhoun was there. Ye, man,
- 17:21Speaker 1: I missed that boy my boy, Paul Davis down I
- 17:25Speaker 1: missed that boy, bad man, But talk anyway. It got
- 17:27Speaker 1: some great people down there. If you if he she
- 17:29Speaker 1: lived in town, they live in town, and you ain't
- 17:31Speaker 1: met the mama. I don't know what y'all do in
- 17:35Speaker 1: three unless he shame. He can't be scared to bring
- 17:42Speaker 1: you by there because you may see the side he
- 17:44Speaker 1: don't want you to see. That could be it, okay,
- 17:48Speaker 1: but I don't. I don't think you should break up
- 17:50Speaker 1: over not meeting the parents, especially if he's talking about
- 17:55Speaker 1: marring you. But he said, y'all ain't getting married till
- 17:56Speaker 1: at the grad school. I can understand that man getting
- 17:59Speaker 1: married school, you know. I understand that all right, and
- 18:04Speaker 1: you know you want kidsthing. But how she let three
- 18:09Speaker 1: years go by them? I mean, how old is she, Shirley,
- 18:14Speaker 1: she's twenty seven seventh day and twenty four. Ain't no
- 18:18Speaker 1: law say you got to get married right now, you know?
- 18:21Speaker 1: But now he talked about it after grad school. They
- 18:24Speaker 1: just said that he told her after grad school. Now
- 18:28Speaker 1: she'd have moved up to date in her mind, but
- 18:31Speaker 1: now she'd be mad because she ain't met the mom
- 18:33Speaker 1: and daddy just sit tight sister. You know when he
- 18:36Speaker 1: get out of grad school. He says he's go mad.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Probably ain't doing did you say, did you mumble? Probably business?
- 18:45Speaker 1: I said, ain't. Surely, I ain't ever said isn't isn't
- 18:50Speaker 1: isn't ain't your my vocably all right? Teddy in Chicago says,
- 18:55Speaker 1: we're just moving on it. I'm in my mid forties
- 18:58Speaker 1: and my wife and I have hit a rough patch
- 19:00Speaker 1: in our sex life. We both sleep nude, and she
- 19:03Speaker 1: is a nice booty and backs it up on me
- 19:06Speaker 1: every night, but has a fit if I touch it.
- 19:11Speaker 1: After two weeks of this, I asked her why, and
- 19:14Speaker 1: she said that if I cleaned up after myself and
- 19:16Speaker 1: put her first like I should, then my privileges wouldn't
- 19:20Speaker 1: be cut off. I want to fix this as quick
- 19:22Speaker 1: as I can. Uncle Steve, what can I do to
- 19:25Speaker 1: get back? I don't. I don't understand what you're saying. Okay,
- 19:29Speaker 1: he's saying, the live together. Are they married, Yeah, they're married,
- 19:33Speaker 1: they're married, mid forties. He in me and forties. How
- 19:36Speaker 1: is she? He didn't say. They sleep nude, and for
- 19:42Speaker 1: two weeks his wife has been in the bed nude.
- 19:45Speaker 1: You know, she cuddles with him, but if he touches it,
- 19:48Speaker 1: it's off limits. They spooned in, but they ain't spoke,
- 19:52Speaker 1: you know. I think it's yeah, I'm leaving behind this hill. No, no, no,
- 20:05Speaker 1: now we're breaking up over bye. Thank you? You know
- 20:09Speaker 1: nice knowing he had nice life, telling kids, I said,
- 20:12Speaker 1: see you, that was funny. Spoon But they're not forking
- 20:16Speaker 1: out anybody anybody doing it anybody? No, no, bye, they
- 20:24Speaker 1: can't talk. See talk for what? No. Look, all she
- 20:27Speaker 1: wants him to do is pick up after himself and
- 20:30Speaker 1: put her first, all right, coming up next to what
- 20:34Speaker 1: did that come from? In the letter? I said it.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You didn't hear me. All I heard was don't touch me.
- 20:43Speaker 1: That's what you had. The hells we neck it fall?
- 20:45Speaker 1: What coming up next to the nephew and run that
- 20:49Speaker 1: prank back? Right after this You're listening show coming up
- 20:55Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, Miss Anna standing by
- 20:58Speaker 1: with our national news plus some sad news to report
- 21:01Speaker 1: legendary comedian Paul Mooney has passed away. Our condolence is
- 21:06Speaker 1: going out to the entire Mooney family. We'll talk about
- 21:09Speaker 1: his legendary career at the top of the hour, but
- 21:12Speaker 1: right now we're gonna switch gears to the nephew who
- 21:15Speaker 1: is here to make us laugh, would run that prank back?
- 21:17Speaker 1: What you got for his naf Naked yoga, take your

- 24:40Speaker 1: what I want to say about that is this, it
- 24:42Speaker 1: might be something on there about like when I was
- 24:45Speaker 1: on the East Coast. You know, I was actually teaching uh,
- 24:47Speaker 1: naked yoga. You know what I mean, naked yoka. Uh.
- 24:51Speaker 1: You know you may see something on there about me

- 28:40Speaker 1: you know last year naked yoga was case. You don't
- 28:44Speaker 1: know what that cadence is that it is Richard Pryor
- 28:46Speaker 1: from the Incredible movie Which way is up? As you
- 28:50Speaker 1: know last year the trench bought me this glove. Tommy,
- 28:55Speaker 1: you got it down to what he is up? All right,
- 29:01Speaker 1: thank you, nephew. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 29:04Speaker 1: Entertainment and national news. Right after this, you're listening to
- 29:09Speaker 1: morning show. In today's entertainment news, the Beet Awards will
- 29:15Speaker 1: return in June. That is good news. The Beet Awards
- 29:19Speaker 1: will be back alive with a fully vaccinated audience on Sunday,
- 29:23Speaker 1: June twenty seventh, So get ready for that. The network
- 29:27Speaker 1: will invite fully vaccinated audience members. BT said they will
- 29:31Speaker 1: work closely with the Los Angeles County UH to support
- 29:35Speaker 1: community vaccination efforts to ensure adherence to COVID nineteen protocols.
- 29:40Speaker 1: So that's good news. We have missed you. Beet Awards.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Put us back, man, everything is bad. It's like, yeah,
- 29:48Speaker 1: that's how to watch bat turning. Yes, we got thirty audience.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Y'all pack standing all right, and we're going to switch
- 30:10Speaker 1: gears here because this is really some sad news for
- 30:12Speaker 1: the comedy world. Paul Mooney was a longtime comedian. You
- 30:17Speaker 1: guys all know him. Of course, he was a writer,
- 30:20Speaker 1: He was an actor and of course best known Steve
- 30:23Speaker 1: for his work with Richard Pryor. Well, yesterday Paul Mooney
- 30:27Speaker 1: passed away. He had a heart attack. He was seventy
- 30:31Speaker 1: nine years old and according to his family, mister Mooney
- 30:35Speaker 1: passed away at his home in Oakland and paramedics tried
- 30:38Speaker 1: unsuccessfully to revive him. Paul Mooney was a legend in
- 30:43Speaker 1: show business, both on stage and behind the scenes because
- 30:47Speaker 1: he was an actor and a huge contributing writer to
- 30:51Speaker 1: Richard Pryor's stand up and his performances. So rest in peace.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Paul Mooney, old, stop White, been doing it for you.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I love that dude. Man Um. We did the AHA
- 31:09Speaker 1: Comedy Awards, the very first one. This guy was throwing
- 31:12Speaker 1: and he threw it at the Hollywood Casino and the
- 31:17Speaker 1: room was full of preachers and First Ladies and uh,
- 31:23Speaker 1: Paul Mooney was one of the acts. But let me
- 31:31Speaker 1: tell you something. When I tell you a guy who
- 31:35Speaker 1: went on stage and did him no matter what, it
- 31:39Speaker 1: was Paul Mooney. When he started on a pastor stood
- 31:46Speaker 1: up with the First Lady and said, this is completely inappropriate.
- 31:52Speaker 1: He said, I ain't got to that part, hit man,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and I was on the second row and boiler should
- 32:03Speaker 1: he I ain't got to that part hit and brother,
- 32:08Speaker 1: he did the most inappropriate hysterical set when five minutes
- 32:14Speaker 1: in the preachers and First Ladies was screaming last it
- 32:19Speaker 1: was right. It was before OJ Simpson had got free.
- 32:23Speaker 1: He was on trial. OJ Simpson thing had just started.
- 32:27Speaker 1: He was on trial, and man Mooney had wrote the
- 32:31Speaker 1: most brilliant stuff about OJ driving up that freeway with
- 32:34Speaker 1: Al Collins and man, he was really really I'm gonna
- 32:40Speaker 1: tell you right now. Richard Pryde was a He was
- 32:47Speaker 1: huge in writing for Richard Prye. Y'all don't know it,
- 32:50Speaker 1: but he was huge for Fox. He was huge for
- 32:52Speaker 1: Flip Wilson thought this stude was no joke, man, this
- 32:59Speaker 1: stude was legend. Yeah, I'm gonna talk about him in closing.
- 33:03Speaker 1: He was a good brother man, all right, Steve. So
- 33:07Speaker 1: let's switch gears again here and time for today's headline,
- 33:10Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, miss a Tripp. Okay, thank you very much, everybody. Well,
- 33:14Speaker 1: the battle between Israel and Hamas is now and it's
- 33:17Speaker 1: eleventh day. President Biden has reportedly been employing a behind
- 33:20Speaker 1: the scenes type strategy to try and get Israel to
- 33:22Speaker 1: be the first to back down. Yesterday, Jewish State said no,
- 33:26Speaker 1: that Hamas started it, and that's defending its own right
- 33:28Speaker 1: to exist. But there's worried around this morning that both
- 33:31Speaker 1: sides say that they may stop but within maybe the
- 33:34Speaker 1: next two days, although nobody over there seems to say
- 33:36Speaker 1: it seems to see any of that declining. In Washington,
- 33:39Speaker 1: Republican lawmakers worse seeking to derail a movement to form
- 33:42Speaker 1: an independent commission to thoroughly investigate last January's Capitol Hill insurrection.
- 33:47Speaker 1: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sought bipartisan support for the panel
- 33:51Speaker 1: and even gave up some of the provisions that Democrats
- 33:53Speaker 1: wanted to try and make a deal in the interest
- 33:55Speaker 1: of bipartisanship. We were yielder on many points which we
- 33:59Speaker 1: thought be important and were not necessarily mirrowing nine eleven,
- 34:03Speaker 1: but mirrowing many commissions since nine eleven. Republicans, though, had
- 34:07Speaker 1: been saying that the country needed to just move on
- 34:10Speaker 1: or broaden the scope of the probe to include Black
- 34:12Speaker 1: Lives Matter and Antifa, even though neither of those groups
- 34:15Speaker 1: stormed the Capitol anyway. In the end, though, thirty five
- 34:17Speaker 1: Republicans bucked Donald Trump and party leaders and voted with
- 34:21Speaker 1: the Democrats. When they get in the center, they're going
- 34:23Speaker 1: to need sixty votes. By the way, a total of
- 34:25Speaker 1: ten investigations were conducted into the twenty twelve Benghazi attack.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Remember that six of them by Republican control committees. They
- 34:32Speaker 1: were allegations that the Obama administration was engaged in a
- 34:35Speaker 1: cover up, but no evidence of that was ever found.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Ten investigations into Benghazi. Far right Rocker and COVID denier
- 34:42Speaker 1: Ted Nugent has it. However, the sevent two year old Nugent,
- 34:45Speaker 1: a staunch Trump supporter, says he refuses to take the
- 34:48Speaker 1: Coving vaccine because he claims there are questions about its
- 34:52Speaker 1: safety in Texas. The bill that's expected to be signed
- 34:55Speaker 1: into law bands early abortions and allow civil lawsuits against
- 34:58Speaker 1: the healthcare provider is involved. And finally, it's sad news
- 35:02Speaker 1: for US. Comedian Paul Mooney has died, reportedly of stage
- 35:05Speaker 1: four colon cancer. He was seventy nine years old. He
- 35:08Speaker 1: would have been eighty in August. Producer Clay Berry and
- 35:10Speaker 1: I did a regular morning show with Paul Mooney back
- 35:13Speaker 1: in two thousand and four in New York City. Besides
- 35:16Speaker 1: his own act, Paul wrote for the Richard Pryor show,
- 35:18Speaker 1: As You Heard. Fans loved him for his on target
- 35:21Speaker 1: singers about racism. When he owned us, white focuses. I'm
- 35:23Speaker 1: happy white people look at them now. They's so depressed
- 35:27Speaker 1: and said, let slavery come back tomorrow. Well, they don't
- 35:30Speaker 1: want us in their neighborhood when they owners moves in
- 35:32Speaker 1: their house. When they owned us, we had twelve and
- 35:35Speaker 1: fourteen jobs now that were free. I'm so sorry there's
- 35:38Speaker 1: no job mad because we got away. Let slavey come
- 35:42Speaker 1: back in tomorrow, be on that porch. Welcome home. Your
- 35:46Speaker 1: room is just like it was. We haven't changed Paul Mooney,
- 35:50Speaker 1: who loved that man. Now back to the Steve Harvey
- 35:52Speaker 1: Morning Show. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right,
- 35:56Speaker 1: So we talked about this earlier, guys. As we all know,
- 35:59Speaker 1: legendary comedian and actor and writer, brilliant writer Paul Mooney
- 36:04Speaker 1: passed away on Wednesday from a heart attack. He was
- 36:07Speaker 1: seventy nine years old. Paul Mooney was a huge contributor
- 36:11Speaker 1: to the Richard Pryor Show and to mister Pryor's stand
- 36:15Speaker 1: up acts. Later on, Paul Mooney appeared on The Chapelle Show,
- 36:19Speaker 1: and yesterday TMZ spoke to Chapelle about Paul Mooney. Take
- 36:24Speaker 1: a listen. I want to shout out every comedian on earth.
- 36:27Speaker 1: When the best that ever did it passed away today,
- 36:30Speaker 1: his legacy will live forever. He did everything from Richard
- 36:34Speaker 1: Pryor Show to Chapelle Show. He's one of the first
- 36:36Speaker 1: black people ever in the writer's guilt. Paul Mooney will
- 36:39Speaker 1: be sorely missed and wildly remember what I see to that. Okay,
- 36:43Speaker 1: one of the greatest comedians ever Cray's cloth. I don't
- 36:48Speaker 1: know if people understood the way he worked. Man. He
- 36:54Speaker 1: was Unapologeck twenty four seven, did not care what you
- 37:01Speaker 1: thought of him. He was on stage with two goals
- 37:06Speaker 1: in mind. Number one to do him or three goals
- 37:11Speaker 1: to do him, to tell the truth, and to push
- 37:14Speaker 1: you over the edge. That was it. He would close
- 37:19Speaker 1: down the comedy store. He would be the last act
- 37:23Speaker 1: up because there was in his dude's gonna he's gonna
- 37:26Speaker 1: rip it and it was nothing. He would They put
- 37:30Speaker 1: him up last, and his job he went up to
- 37:34Speaker 1: clear the room. I've watched him at least six times
- 37:39Speaker 1: white on Round Out. But now I mean, you're screaming laughing. Yeah,
- 37:44Speaker 1: but he was that dude. Man, he was really really
- 37:47Speaker 1: harm Mooner was a genius man, and this dude was
- 37:50Speaker 1: write some brillio Stoy cross and that flag man Junior
- 37:57Speaker 1: didn't us to drive yeah around. I have to drive Paul.
- 38:01Speaker 1: My job when I first started the business was to
- 38:03Speaker 1: go pick the headlines and the features up and bring
- 38:05Speaker 1: him to the show. That's how I know, That's how
- 38:07Speaker 1: I became the open for the show. My job, I
- 38:09Speaker 1: ain't get paid. I go pick Paul up, Go pick
- 38:12Speaker 1: up the peajack, take it to the club, take them
- 38:14Speaker 1: back to the hotel. That what you had to do.
- 38:16Speaker 1: But I learned so many lessons in the car talking
- 38:18Speaker 1: to Paul more. You learned like what oh man, Like
- 38:22Speaker 1: Steve just said, he will tell you to be you
- 38:24Speaker 1: on stage. You don't have to apologize, you don't got
- 38:25Speaker 1: to kill somebody's behind the nothing. Be you. Yeah, that's
- 38:29Speaker 1: the first lesson I learned. The first time you see
- 38:32Speaker 1: him ever performed, your first time, it blows you away
- 38:35Speaker 1: for it. Shot. You're just not expecting that. You're like,
- 38:38Speaker 1: oh my god, you can do that. You can really
- 38:40Speaker 1: do that. You can say that, you can say you
- 38:43Speaker 1: can say that. I think the word Steve for him
- 38:47Speaker 1: is unapologetic. I think a day long, I've watched it,
- 38:51Speaker 1: do it over and over and over again. Yeah. And
- 38:53Speaker 1: some of the stuff was simply hysterical, yes, And some
- 38:57Speaker 1: of the stuff was just designed to be crushing. It
- 39:00Speaker 1: was all right. We're moving on now. Rest in peace,

- 50:54Speaker 1: I got one ain't to say to me because you
- 50:59Speaker 1: ain't took a little too far flying with me and

- 53:55Speaker 1: It is a Strawberry Letter, Thank you nephew. Subjects he
- 54:00Speaker 1: treats my mother like a dog. Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm
- 54:05Speaker 1: a twenty eight year old woman, and I recently got
- 54:07Speaker 1: engaged to a man who's almost perfect. We're on the
- 54:14Speaker 1: come up and have promising careers, and our life plans
- 54:18Speaker 1: are laid out. We want the same things. But there's
- 54:21Speaker 1: one issue. He hate my mother. I admit she was
- 54:24Speaker 1: a little tough on him when they first met, but
- 54:27Speaker 1: she only had my best interests at heart. She asked
- 54:30Speaker 1: him a lot about his background and ambitions, and he
- 54:33Speaker 1: took it as criticism. She wanted to make sure he
- 54:37Speaker 1: was responsible and mature, but instead he got offended and
- 54:41Speaker 1: thought she was questioning his abilities as a man. He
- 54:44Speaker 1: nicknamed her the judge and said he'll never be worthy
- 54:48Speaker 1: of her approval. Since we got engaged, it's gotten worse.
- 54:51Speaker 1: If I talk to her on the phone, he'll ask
- 54:55Speaker 1: how the fat witch is doing. If I say I'm
- 54:58Speaker 1: going out with her, he'll say, I'd better not bring
- 55:00Speaker 1: her bitter butt back to the house with me. He said,
- 55:04Speaker 1: ass One time she asked me how much my fiance
- 55:08Speaker 1: was making at his new job, and his stupid behind
- 55:11Speaker 1: said to tell that nosy to mind her own business. Yeah,
- 55:16Speaker 1: he called her the B word. Needless to say, I
- 55:19Speaker 1: hung up the phone before she could respond, he is
- 55:22Speaker 1: way too comfortable disrespecting my mother, and I don't think
- 55:25Speaker 1: she's done anything to make him that evil to her.
- 55:28Speaker 1: I've asked him to stop, but he said he's marrying me,
- 55:32Speaker 1: not my family, and she started it by looking down
- 55:35Speaker 1: on him. I don't think she treated him that badly,
- 55:38Speaker 1: and I think he's being overly sensitive. My mother has
- 55:41Speaker 1: told my aunt and my brother about how my fiance
- 55:44Speaker 1: treats her, and now they're all in my business and
- 55:48Speaker 1: questioning my relationship. Mostly everything else about him is perfect,
- 55:53Speaker 1: but I hate the way he treats my Mother's my
- 55:55Speaker 1: mother to blame at all? How do I fix their
- 55:59Speaker 1: relationship before our wedding? Wedding? Wedding wedding? You're still considering
- 56:04Speaker 1: marrying him? Why he's not worthy of anything like that?
- 56:08Speaker 1: You don't need to marry this guy. This guy disrespects
- 56:10Speaker 1: your mother. What are you talking about? Really? I mean,
- 56:15Speaker 1: you're twenty eight. You said your mother only had his
- 56:18Speaker 1: best interests at heart, your best interests at heart, but
- 56:22Speaker 1: he took it at as criticism. That's on him, not
- 56:25Speaker 1: your mother. That's what parents do before you get married.
- 56:29Speaker 1: They meet your you know, intended person. They talk to him,
- 56:33Speaker 1: They get to know him. They want to see where
- 56:35Speaker 1: his head is. You know, is he good enough? Is
- 56:37Speaker 1: he worthy enough to be marrying their their child? That's
- 56:40Speaker 1: what parents do. Okay, he calls her to judge, he's
- 56:44Speaker 1: calling her to B word? What what you let him
- 56:48Speaker 1: call your mother the B word? You're right, he is
- 56:51Speaker 1: way too comfortable disrespecting your mother and you shouldn't allow this.
- 56:56Speaker 1: You shouldn't be marrying this guy. Stop this wedding, stop
- 57:00Speaker 1: all of this, give him his ring back. You don't,
- 57:02Speaker 1: because guess what, it's not going to get any better.
- 57:05Speaker 1: It's not going to change. It's only going to get
- 57:08Speaker 1: worse if you think about or consider marrying this guy.
- 57:12Speaker 1: You need to stop this now. I'm sure your brother
- 57:16Speaker 1: has the right idea because he's gonna let him know.
- 57:19Speaker 1: That's his mother too. You know. Yeah, you hate the
- 57:22Speaker 1: way he treats your mother because you should, but you
- 57:25Speaker 1: still he treats your mother one way, and you still don't.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Please don't marry this man. No, you ask is your
- 57:31Speaker 1: mother to blame at all? For what? For being a mother,
- 57:34Speaker 1: for looking out for her daughter's best interests? No, your
- 57:37Speaker 1: mother is not to blame. You can't fix their relationship
- 57:41Speaker 1: before the wedding, because it's ruined because he doesn't respect
- 57:44Speaker 1: your mother. Because he called your mother a bee, there's
- 57:47Speaker 1: nothing to fix. He called her a fat, which there's
- 57:50Speaker 1: nothing to fix here. Come on, now, come on, come on,
- 57:55Speaker 1: come on. Don't let this go down like this. Don't
- 57:57Speaker 1: let this man disrespect and talk to your talk about
- 58:00Speaker 1: your mother like this. Steve, please, sister, at twenty eight
- 58:05Speaker 1: years old, I'm gonna have to tell you some things. Now,
- 58:09Speaker 1: you're twenty eight years old. You got engaged to a man.
- 58:12Speaker 1: You say it's almost perfect. Nobody is, and nobody ain't
- 58:17Speaker 1: almost perfect either. Ain't nobody even close. But you think
- 58:20Speaker 1: you got something perfect, But you got a letter full
- 58:22Speaker 1: of stuff than ain't perfect. See you're looking at the room.
- 58:25Speaker 1: You look at a lot of superficial stuff. Y'all want
- 58:28Speaker 1: the same things. Y'all got some promising careers. But there's
- 58:31Speaker 1: one issue. He hates your mother, one of the people
- 58:38Speaker 1: that you love dealing. He manages to hate her all because,
- 58:44Speaker 1: like you say, you'll admit, she was a little tough
- 58:46Speaker 1: on him when they first met him. She only had
- 58:48Speaker 1: your best interests at heart, Like Shelly said, that's what
- 58:52Speaker 1: parents do. She asked him a lot about his background
- 58:55Speaker 1: and ambitious, and he took it as criticism. She wanted
- 58:58Speaker 1: to make sure he was responded postable and mature. Okay,
- 59:02Speaker 1: well we'll get to that in a second, because that's
- 59:04Speaker 1: gonna come back to play. But instead he got offended
- 59:08Speaker 1: and thought she was questioning his abilities as a man.
- 59:11Speaker 1: He nickname at a judge and said he'll never be
- 59:14Speaker 1: worthy of her approval. And since we've gotten engaged, has
- 59:18Speaker 1: gotten worse. Now, excuse me, you mean to tell me
- 59:21Speaker 1: that all this hate came from a simple line of question.
- 59:27Speaker 1: She didn't go out there and bust windows in his car.
- 59:31Speaker 1: She ain't keyed up the car. She broke his glasses.
- 59:36Speaker 1: She ain't took his cell phone and went through it.
- 59:39Speaker 1: She had a line of questioning about his intent with
- 59:43Speaker 1: his daughter, just to see maybe if maybe, if the
- 59:46Speaker 1: daughter was overlooking something. So in this line of questioning,
- 59:50Speaker 1: he hates her. I was talking to on the phone
- 59:52Speaker 1: and he'd asked how that fat which is doing. I say,
- 59:56Speaker 1: I'm going out with He said, you better not bring
- 59:58Speaker 1: that big ass back to this ho out with me.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: One time he asked me, She asked me how much
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: of fiance was making at his new job. His stupid
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: behind said to hell with that, nosy b I and
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: to mind her own business. Are you serious? All right?
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: twenty three minutes after the hour. The subject of the
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Strawberry letter is he treats my mother like a dog.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Coming back right after this. You're listening show, all right,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry letters. Subject he
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: treats my mother like a dog. Twenty eight year old
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: woman is engaged to this guy. She said, it is
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: almost perfect excep. He has one problem. He hates his mother.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Her mother. Now, she says, She'll admitted she was tough
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: on the man when he came over, but she only
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: had my best interest at heart. She asked him a
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: lot about his background ambitions, and he took it his criticism.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: She wanted to be sure he was responsible and mature.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Let's keep that in mind because I'm gonna show you something.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: But instead he got offended and thought she was questioning
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: his abilities as a man. Nicknamed her to judge, said
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: it never be worth of her approval. Okay, now he's
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: mad over a line of questioning a line of questioning,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: and he's that mad. Now you just said your mother
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: was trying to make sure he was responsible and mature. Well,
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: a line of questioning has him acting this way. This
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: is a line of questioning. I'm gonna show you again
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: in the letter. Since you've gotten engaged, it's gotten worse.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: If I talked to her on the phone, he'll ask
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: how that fat witch is doing. That's mature, that's mature.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: The woman ain't even talking about him. She all types
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: of fat witches. Yeah, okay. If I'd say I'm going
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: out with her, he'll say, don't bring that bit of
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: ass back to the house with you. One time she
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: asked me how much my fiance was making at his job.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: His stupid behind said, tell that Osie b I to
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: mind her own business. God, needless to say, I hung
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: up the phone so she could respond, Wait a minute,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: that was your reaction? Yea wait a minute. Needless to say,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: you hung up the phone before she could respond. Wow,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: that was your reaction. I'm gonna tell you right now,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: you're not calling my mama. BC. You're not. I don't
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: care who you are. I'm sorry. Maybe it's because I'm
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: a man but I don't know no women gonna let
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: you do that. Gonna let you do that either. And
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: see it's disrespectful, it's immature, and it shows a nonsense
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: of responsibility. Now he's way too comfortable disrespect to my mother.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: But you letting me, Yeah, see it ain't no repercussions.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: You disrespect you. My mama hid his ring back when
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: you're so caught up in their career and y'all got
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: the same likes and a promise in future. You're letting
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: this man get away with murder. I got news for you.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Your mama ain't fenn to only be the only b
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: I tch, I got news for you. This is after
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: a line of questions, what you gonna be when y'all
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: hit a couple of hard rocks in the road, because
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: you're gonna hit him. What are you going to be
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: when he when you start stinging him, because you're gonna
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: staying just like she stung you with a simple line
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: of questions, What about when you started singing him? Staying
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: in with some accusations, Oh, your wife's gonna accuse you
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: or something. It ain't always cheat. She gonna accuse you
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: a lining accuse you looking at somebody. She gonna accuse
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: you of being some way you said you wasn't she
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: gonna accuse you or not loving her like you used to.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: She gonna accuse you of not paying her proper attention.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: She gonnacuse your wife's gonna accuse you or something. So
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: now what you fit to be when he gets the calling?
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: When when when you get to accuse you, you fit
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: to be a being a whole lot more? Little girl.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I'm telling you it don't stop at the mama. So
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: I don't think she treated him that badly, and I
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: think he's being over sensitive. My mother was told, has
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: told my aunt and my older brother about how my
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: fiance treats her, and now they all up in my
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: business question in my relationship yep, my older brother. Yes,
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: my sisters would have been married to somebody, and somebody
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: told them, two damn brothers of mind's heavy in turn
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: that one of them called I lost via or b
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: I t what litten? Listen to me, I'm telling you
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: what's happening. Brother, y'all taking too much in y'all house.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Y'all must be bullishe or something? Mostly everything about him
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: is perfect? What well, let me show you a couple
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: of things. But I hate the way he treats my
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Mother's my mother to blame it all? How do I
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: fix the relationship? You keep talking about getting married? Are
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: you stupid? Listen to me? Yeah, let me tell you something.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: He's irresponsible and immature. Let me show him to me you.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: He should care about what you care about. He should
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: love the things that you love. That's true. His job
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: is to protect your heart. It ain't this job to
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: make you happy, but it's his job to protect your heart.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: A man takes a wife to protect a heart. Provide,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: professor protect Now, I don't he don't let me tell
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: you something. He don't just not respect her. He don't
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: respect you at all. He's calling your mother a b T.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: What's what's are you? Are you not understanding this? That disrespect?
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: This disrespect is just not aimed at your Mother's aimed
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: directly at you when you go out with or don't
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: bring this old blankety blank back to this house when
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: she want to know how much he may tell that
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: nosy b I tc to mind her business? Are you nuts?
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Are you nuts? I'm surprised your brother ain't beat his ass. Yes,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: I promise you my brothers. There is no way they
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: let they live die. It ain't no way, little girl.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I don't know what you're doing. I don't know how
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: you keep calling this man perfect but he not. But
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I am forewarning you this disrespect that he has for
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: his mother, it's gonna flood over in other areas. A
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: disrespectful person is a disrespectful person. It don't stay in
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: the category. It spreads round and as soon as you
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: challenge him, you find to be that in a whole
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: lot more, little girl. All right, coming up at forty
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: six minutes after the hour, our girl, Cheryl Underwood. Right

- 1:07:08Speaker 1: Steve Harvin. I will answer to that. You know what,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: um You know, comedians, especially when a great comedian passes on,
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: a lot of people don't understand the feelings that we
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: have for each other. When I heard Paul Mooney had
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: passed first. I thank god for the time that we
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: was around Paul Mooney. You know that that's a beautiful thing.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Hung out with him at Caroline, the first comedian that
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: I would see that was classy, drinking nothing but champagne
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: on stadium. I right, Thomas Miles drinking nothing walk champagne.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you, thank you, And and and holding
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: the audience and and and doing them shows and he running.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Now if you ain't ready, if you got to face
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: your truth and your feelings, Paul Mooney is to do.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: But I've been in love with Paul Mooney back in
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: the movie Which Way Is Up? When he was part
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: of the crookedness And you knew it because remember the ring.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Remember the ring that he was wearing, the little diamond twinkle. Yeah.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I thought he was a good guy. He was a
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: bad guy. The boy could act. He was funny, but
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: he was woke before Wolke was a girl. Yes, yes,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: he was real, Cheryl. He was the man who taught
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: us to take it to the streets. He was the
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: person that kept people honest, one of the first brothers
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: to get in the writer's guild, and the iconic shows
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: that he writing on these young comics out today. You
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: want to mirror that career, the career of Paul Mooney,
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: keeping it all the way from Richard Pryor all the
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: way down the day Chappelle still respected, still in the game.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: And I just I just thank God for having this brother,
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: because for somebody like me to be on the Talk
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: and to say a tribute to Paul Mooney, it's it's
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: not because of who Sheryl Underwood is, it's who Paul
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Mooney is and will always be. When every newscast talked
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: about the great Paul Mooney, to God be the glove.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Thank you, Steve Hrtha. Let me do my tribute a right,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: that's a heat wave moment. Baby always in for helpful
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: Thank you, Cheryl. At the top of the hour, Um,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: we'll get Carla in here for Carla's reality update right

- 1:10:39Speaker 1: willness hosted by our very own nephew Tommy on the
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: own network. So things are getting a little heated, you know.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Between the singles, the chef chef Diedrick he got eliminated,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: and um, nobody was really feeling him. So I wasn't
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: really mad at that elimination at all. So Tommy, what
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: he go ahead? What you know? You got an older
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: guy that's in his fifties I like, who actually has
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: grandchildren but wants a child, wants a son. You you
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: you asking a lot? Paul? Paul? You know what I'm saying.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: You really ask that? You know that's the nickname on
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: the asking a lot? And uh, you know, he just
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: he just he's a good guy, cooks him off. I
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: like him, you know, I just think, Um, I don't.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: I don't think the compatibility was there with him and
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: and and uh and any of the ladies that want
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: the show. I just didn't think it was there. Yeah,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: they thought he was cool. But no connection. That age
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: difference makes a difference. It really, yeah, it does. It does,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: it did on the show, So not really mad at
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: that elimination. I think Tomorrow night episode, Tomorrow Night's episode
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: is about the bff's Is that correct? Is that what
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: I saw being I believe you're right. I believe you're right,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: and that's that's you know, that's a little different. When
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: people bring their friends in or bring their family in
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: and they get to see everything that's happening. It's a
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: big trip. So be ready for that, all right, Tomorrow night,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Ready to Love, Friday nights. What time, nephew? It is
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: none Eastern Age Central on the own network, Ready to
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Love hosted by Yours Truthany all right? Moving on quickly
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: married to medicine doctor Contessa and her husband. It seems
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: like her and her husband, doctor Scott, they're having problems.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: They're having issues and they need to go to therapy.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: They need to go to counseling because they're having problems
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: with communicating with each other and they you know, they
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: have a lot of kids. Go ahead, Shirley, where were
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: you saying he won't go? He will not go and
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: he said he wasn't going and she was just hell, no,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: we won't go back. But then he kind of changed
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: his mind and said I'm gonna go. So she's just
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: like whatever with you. But anyway, did you see when
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: he was drawing her blood doctor Contessa's blood, and then
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: he the point was to get the red blood cells
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: and the plasma injected in her hairline to make sure
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: her edges roll back. It was crazy. It was crazy
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: than the mug they bring aline back. It was to them. Yeah.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: They She was just sitting back and they were just
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: talking about not communicating the marriage, and he just ticking
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: the needle in her hairline. I said, we got no,
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I WoT some hairline. I ain't know. You can go
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: get hairlined. What Steve Junior, you sound interested? I just
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: try to I would do this. But it's interesting, though, Steve,
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: it is. It was really interesting. I couldn't focus. And
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: then she's gonna tell him he shooting her with a
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: needle in her hairline, and she was like, you're not listening, girl.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: We try to concentrate what's going off. Anyway. There's also
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: beef with Toya versus everybody. I don't know. The qua
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: quad had her quarantine party and the ladies of beef
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: and heavily is messy. She started as saying what Toya
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: said on an Instagram and says she had a blankety
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: blank apartment talking about Quad's department. Quad was about that
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: life and it is a blankety blank apartment and abbreviation
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: for ragged ass department. No noe uh bull blank apartment.

- 1:17:07Speaker 1: house last week and he was there while the alarm
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: was being installed. When we got back to our apartment,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: he said his ex wife stopped by to see the
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: house because she saw on Facebook that we got the house.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: He said, he showed her around and she loved it.

- 1:18:30Speaker 1: I'm all good. That's a good thing about it. Man.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: There's some Grayson Mercy and you could be on your way,

- 1:19:11Speaker 1: course we'll have some closing remarks at forty nine minutes
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: after the hour from the one and only Steve Harvey,
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: our fearless leader, right after this you're listening to show.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are, last break of the day.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: It's been a good day. Uh you know, wow, what
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: a day. Yep. A lot of um condolences and thoughts
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: going out for the Mooney family, Paul Mooney family. Um, yeah,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: you know I want to say this and closing about it,
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: you know. Um to Paul Mooney um, who I've known
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: really practically my entire career. I met Paul early in
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: New York at Carolines back in ninety ninety one when
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: I was doing The Apollo. He used to come through
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: the Apollo late night and we should go out and
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: eat sometimes. Paul and I knew each other because he
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: was in a couple of writing rooms out in LA
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: But I'm telling you to every comedian today who never
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: met Paul Mooney, I just want to share something with
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: you that you all owe him a death of gratitude,
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: because Paul Mooney shaped a lot of who we are today.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: Paul Mooney was deaf Jam before there was a deaf jam.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Paul Mooney was the dude that went out there and
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: said the unthinkable things in front of massive crowds, and
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: he didn't care who it was. Paul Mooney wrote for
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: the great Richard Pryde, who amongst us today, including Eddie
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: Murphy in this whole line, don't have something to pay
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: to Richard Pryde, because Richard Prye was the King of
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: Kingsman when he come to this thing called stand up.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I'm not asking this is a fact. I did this
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: for years. I did this for a lot of years.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: I studied this thing. This was my entire life at
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: one point, and I know who who in this business,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: and what I'm telling you today is the absolute truth.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: He was such a huge part of Richard Pryde. He
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: was a huge part of Flip Wilson. He was a
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: huge part of Red Fox y'all. This dude touched everybody.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: I saw him at the Sands one night in Vegas.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: I went to see Red Fox for the first time
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: and I went backstage to meet the G eight Red Fox.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: I saw his acts at the Sands or the Dunes,
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: one of them clubs he was performing at, and Paul
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: Mooney was in the backstage, and we knew each other
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: by the end. Because this was after the Apollo I
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: had had a couple of TV shows and it was
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: just one of them moments Man back there. But he
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: was a huge part of a lot of people, Man
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: and a lot of people that we looked up. He
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: had a lot to do with Fhlip Wilson. Man had
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: a lot to do with Phlip Wilson. This dude touched
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: a lot of the greats because he was a writer.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Everybody wanted. Now Paul, because of how he was. He
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: didn't really care about star of fame. I don't really think,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: because he did so many things to rub people the
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: other way. He would walk on stage to set that
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: thing on fire. He was the most prolific but unapologetic
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: comedian I've ever seen the stuff that came out of
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: his mouth. I could never ever say I just wasn't
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: that daring, but he was. And he had decided that
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: he wasn't gonna ever make it to mainstream, and he
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: was all right with that. But everybody that was great
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: knew him. I mean, I could tell you some stories. Man.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: When we did First Deaf Jam, Paul Mooney came up
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: to Jeff Jam not to perform, but just to hang
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: out because he knew everybody. He knew the Rodney Winfields
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: and the Ronaldo Rays, them old cats. That was great
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: to us. I'm telling you, man, this dude was about
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: the business. His boys, the twins that loved their father, man,
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: that talked about him everywhere he went. Them twins man
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: relish the relationship with their dad. I didn't know all
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: of his kids, but I knew them twins. But I'm
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: gonna tell you something, man, Paul Mooney, he was about
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: the business. He showed me a level of fearlessness that
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: I just had never seen, man, I mean never ever seen.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: He said stuff Richard Prye wouldn't say. That's hard to believe.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: But he said things Richard Pride would not say. Man,
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: that dude would go up at the comedy store at night,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: night after night after night, and go up last. And
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: his whole objective was to be pointed, to be prolific,
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: to be unapologic, and to clear the room. He said stuff. Man,
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: that was so. I mean, he had to know in
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: his harder hearts this is probably not the coolest thing
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: to say to advance my career. But I'm not really
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: sure Paul was interested in advancing his career because I
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: think his career was what he knew it was. He
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: was a great dude behind the scenes that relished in
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: that moment, and when he went out in the front, man,
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: he didn't need that. He just went out to and
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: gave it to the people. If you never saw Paul Mooney,
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: you missed one of the great acts. You missed one
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: of the great dudes. Man. Like I was telling the
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: story earlier, we did a AHA Awards at the Hollywood Casino.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: One time, I hosted a portion of the show and
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: I turned it over to Paul Mooney. A large section
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: of the crowd was nothing but pastors and first ladies.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Two minutes into the show, a pastors stood up with
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: the front lady and said, this is totally inappropriate. Paul
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: Mooney said, I haven't got to that part yet, and
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: he did not let him down. He hadn't even began
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: the inappropriateness. And when it started, man, them preachers and
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: then wives were screaming, laughing. I was watching this genius
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: at work. Man, Paul Mooney was really a genius. Man.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: I'm not just saying it because he's passed. He was
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: just that dude. Last time I saw Paul Mooney, I
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: was walking across the street at Times Square. Or you
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: ain't gonna say nothing, or you're that famous, you got
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: that much wonder all aint Paul was up and give
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: me a hook inward. That's the last time I saw him.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: But I'm glad to say I saw him and I
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: hugged him in the middle of time squad. Rest in peace,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Paul Money, You'll be missed. You wanted the legends, boy,
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: you wanted the greatness. Man you wanted the greatness. Thank you, Brother.
