- 0:15Speaker 1: A million bus busy.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Listening to show. I don't joy.
- 0:45Speaker 5: Yeah, joy you you.
- 1:05Speaker 3: You gotta turn I can't.
- 1:41Speaker 4: To turn the mouth turn I probably got to turn
- 1:44Speaker 4: the mouth, the turn out.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Turn the water the mono.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Come come out, you think, Uh huh, I sure will.
- 2:03Speaker 2: A good morning everybody.
- 2:05Speaker 6: You are listening to the voice, come on dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 6: one and all that Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay,
- 2:12Speaker 6: today is simple. I want to tell you. I want
- 2:18Speaker 6: to just talk to you about effort today. Just about effort.
- 2:25Speaker 6: You know, it's it's it's it's a word that people
- 2:28Speaker 6: use to describe sometimes trying. But what I found out
- 2:34Speaker 6: about trying is trying is just a noble way of
- 2:38Speaker 6: saying you didn't get it done. I tried when and
- 2:43Speaker 6: then everybody go, well, he tried, that was the best.
- 2:47Speaker 6: Well that's that's not exactly true though, that that's that's
- 2:51Speaker 6: not exactly true. You are and I want to talk
- 2:54Speaker 6: to you about that because I don't want you to
- 2:57Speaker 6: be one of the people who just tried.
- 3:01Speaker 2: See trying I mean, I gotta tell you to attempt something.
- 3:06Speaker 6: You're gonna have to first try, but I want you
- 3:09Speaker 6: to change your mindset from trying to getting it done. See,
- 3:16Speaker 6: that's a big difference. I'm really more apt to listen
- 3:19Speaker 6: to the person that says to me, I'm gonna get
- 3:21Speaker 6: it done. I'm gonna try. What try does is it
- 3:25Speaker 6: allows you to fail. It's the person that has the
- 3:28Speaker 6: mindset that I'm gonna get it done. It's the person
- 3:32Speaker 6: who changes the complexion of things. I'm gonna get it done.
- 3:36Speaker 6: It's very different than I'm gonna try.
- 3:39Speaker 7: You know.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Look, man, I know this sounds a little.
- 3:41Speaker 6: Harsh, but you gotta stop feeding yourself these little old
- 3:46Speaker 6: wise sayings that ain't it was a valiant tribe. Hey man,
- 3:51Speaker 6: you talk to anybody that took second place in the
- 3:55Speaker 6: super Bowl and see how they feel about their valiant try.
- 3:58Speaker 6: The only way to gain God's real blessings is you
- 4:05Speaker 6: have to try something. Steve Backpeddling, now, listen to me close.
- 4:13Speaker 6: You have to put forth an effort to allow God
- 4:20Speaker 6: to put his finger on something to bless on your behalf.
- 4:25Speaker 6: You must start to attempt now, insaying getting it done
- 4:30Speaker 6: and I'm gonna try.
- 4:32Speaker 2: That's a different of two different faiths.
- 4:34Speaker 7: To me.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I'm just talking about me.
- 4:38Speaker 6: Now. You may be different, So I can't say this
- 4:40Speaker 6: about you, but I can say this about me. If
- 4:45Speaker 6: I say I'm gonna get it done, I have a
- 4:49Speaker 6: lot of faith in it. I am going to get
- 4:53Speaker 6: it done because I just don't see failure as an option.
- 4:56Speaker 6: A lot of times now, if somebody says to me,
- 5:00Speaker 6: like the Olympic team invited me out to curl one day,
- 5:04Speaker 6: which is throw these stones on the ice, if you're
- 5:07Speaker 6: not familiar with this very simple thing.
- 5:09Speaker 2: And so I said, man, I'd like to give that
- 5:13Speaker 2: a try.
- 5:15Speaker 6: I went in full well knowing I may not come
- 5:19Speaker 6: away from this little curling lesson as a person.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Who could make the Olympic team.
- 5:26Speaker 6: I just wanted to try it because I thought it
- 5:29Speaker 6: looked cool, and I always wanted to get it done.
- 5:31Speaker 6: When I failed twice, I threw a stone completely into
- 5:35Speaker 6: the other lane, I lost that little ice shoe. It
- 5:39Speaker 6: shot out under me. But you know what, I kept
- 5:42Speaker 6: trying though. I kept trying until I got four of
- 5:47Speaker 6: them stones in that circle right where I aim. But
- 5:51Speaker 6: now had I given up after I failed? After I
- 5:55Speaker 6: threw that stone in the other lane after I shot
- 5:58Speaker 6: my shoe down all the way to the bottom side,
- 6:00Speaker 6: the little ice shoe they give you.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I never did it, but because I was trying.
- 6:07Speaker 6: Something got me together a little bit because of my effort,
- 6:10Speaker 6: and it caused me not to fall the next time,
- 6:13Speaker 6: not to throw it in the other lane, not to
- 6:15Speaker 6: shoot my shoe to the back of the wall. All
- 6:19Speaker 6: of a sudden, my trying became something. Now had I
- 6:23Speaker 6: stayed out there and it wasn't so cold, and I went.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Back week after week after week after week. I promise you.
- 6:31Speaker 6: I could get it done. I could at least know
- 6:35Speaker 6: how to compete in a game of curling.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Might not be the best.
- 6:39Speaker 6: I might not win the championship, but I could have
- 6:42Speaker 6: got it done to the point where I could have
- 6:44Speaker 6: competed in a game of curling. So sometimes if you're
- 6:47Speaker 6: scared to say I'm gonna get it done, just go
- 6:50Speaker 6: out there and get started. You know, learn from every
- 6:55Speaker 6: attempt that you make. See, don't quit writing yourself off
- 6:58Speaker 6: as a failure every time something don't go right. And
- 7:01Speaker 6: when I fail on that ice, I could have said, man,
- 7:04Speaker 6: I can't curl, but hold up, man, I'm watching four
- 7:06Speaker 6: other women out here curl, four of the dudes out here,
- 7:09Speaker 6: curl the little kids out here curling. Hold up, Pardner,
- 7:12Speaker 6: You know, man, So I learned when I threw that
- 7:15Speaker 6: stone on the other ice, when I failed, when when
- 7:18Speaker 6: my shoe shot off, I learned from every attempt a
- 7:21Speaker 6: little bit more about it.
- 7:24Speaker 2: And then I said to.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Myself one point in time, man, I'm gonna get this
- 7:29Speaker 6: stone in that circle. I'm gonna get this stone in
- 7:32Speaker 6: this circle. And guess what I got it done. Now
- 7:37Speaker 6: what you're saying to me, Steve, I'm saying to you
- 7:40Speaker 6: that you gotta get started. That you got to put
- 7:43Speaker 6: forth an effort. Give God something to bless. Oh God,
- 7:46Speaker 6: bless me, Oh God, bless me.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Bless you?
- 7:49Speaker 8: What?
- 7:50Speaker 3: Bless you?
- 7:50Speaker 2: Where? Bless you?
- 7:51Speaker 7: How?
- 7:53Speaker 6: Stop basing your results on what you're thinking. You gotta
- 7:56Speaker 6: think higher. You get God in your life, man, He
- 7:59Speaker 6: allows you to think higher, bigger, better more. I was
- 8:04Speaker 6: sitting up in my debt. I came up with a
- 8:06Speaker 6: plan to get out of debt in five years. I
- 8:08Speaker 6: came up with this plan, right, I was sitting up
- 8:11Speaker 6: and I was tripping on it.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Now. I said, wait a minute, man, hold up. This
- 8:15Speaker 2: is what I came up with. I said, God.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Created heaven and earth, all of it, the mountains, the sky,
- 8:24Speaker 6: the valleys, the oceans, trees, the birds, the Indian Ocean,
- 8:30Speaker 6: all of it, made all of it in six days,
- 8:35Speaker 6: and then he rested on the seven. So why am
- 8:39Speaker 6: I taking to God the five year plan? If he
- 8:43Speaker 6: can create heaven and earth in six days, why am
- 8:48Speaker 6: I walking in there talking about help me in five years?
- 8:51Speaker 6: How is it gonna take God five years to getting
- 8:56Speaker 6: me out of debt?
- 8:57Speaker 2: And he made heaven and Earth in six days? Do
- 9:00Speaker 2: the math? Hell, man, I ain't that big. You ain't
- 9:04Speaker 2: that big. You ain't in that much trouble. I ain't
- 9:07Speaker 2: in that much trouble.
- 9:08Speaker 6: See, God got a way of showing you some things, man,
- 9:11Speaker 6: but it's gonna take some faith, and faith gonna take
- 9:14Speaker 6: some effort on your part. Man, get out and do something. Man,
- 9:18Speaker 6: you God will bless you a little bit and he
- 9:20Speaker 6: give you a little bit more courage. And then all
- 9:22Speaker 6: them attempts you making is gonna and all this so
- 9:24Speaker 6: I'll try.
- 9:25Speaker 2: You know what that turned into. I'm gonna get it done.
- 9:28Speaker 6: And at the end of the day, that's what you
- 9:30Speaker 6: have to do, because trying to pay your rent and
- 9:33Speaker 6: not paying your rent is two different things. You can
- 9:36Speaker 6: you can try to play your pay your rent, or
- 9:39Speaker 6: you can get it done. Now, how long you think
- 9:40Speaker 6: you gonna stay in that house trying? You got to
- 9:43Speaker 6: go with the mindset of getting it done. And if
- 9:45Speaker 6: you can put some stuff out there and give God
- 9:48Speaker 6: a chance to put his finger on and bless it
- 9:50Speaker 6: for you the most stuff he can do for you,
- 9:52Speaker 6: Quit looking around what everybody else got and gonna get.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Some of it for yourself.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Okay, all right, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, everybody within listening range.

- 10:15Speaker 6: much you appreciate it for this new opportunity, this brand
- 10:18Speaker 6: new shot. Man, What a good thing it is to
- 10:22Speaker 6: be alive today. Man, what a blessing. You know what,
- 10:26Speaker 6: I just decided I understand that. You know, life just
- 10:31Speaker 6: has some cards for you.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Someday.
- 10:33Speaker 6: Someday you just gonna get dealt one of them cards
- 10:36Speaker 6: out to deck. You don't want three are hards. You're
- 10:40Speaker 6: not finna win with this three heart in your hand.
- 10:43Speaker 6: But you got it today, deal with it, play it.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Take the L.
- 10:48Speaker 6: But the L is not a loss, y'all. The L
- 10:52Speaker 6: is a learned lesson the main losses. They are learned lessons.
- 10:57Speaker 6: When you look at it that way, you can take
- 10:59Speaker 6: the hits a little bit better than life, because God
- 11:01Speaker 6: got a plan for you. His plan is to prosper you. Yeah, man,
- 11:04Speaker 6: come on, think about it like that, y'all. Steve Harvt,
- 11:07Speaker 6: Marni Show, Shelton Strawberry call it for real, Mississippi Monica
- 11:11Speaker 6: Junior to come back kid and the legend of Nephew
- 11:14Speaker 6: Tommas Junior.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Uncle, I really want to ask you this, Uncle.
- 11:17Speaker 9: I've really got to ask your opinion and your views
- 11:20Speaker 9: on this, because their cause a group of women who
- 11:23Speaker 9: say the days of taking a man's last name is over.
- 11:26Speaker 2: He's gonna have to take mine. Okay, Well, you just
- 11:30Speaker 2: be over there by yourself.
- 11:31Speaker 6: Then.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Explain to me how it's supposed to work, explaining.
- 11:36Speaker 6: What look look, look, look, look, junior. I'm an old
- 11:38Speaker 6: school so this I really ain't a good person to ask.
- 11:42Speaker 6: They have decided in this new society. What I've discovered
- 11:46Speaker 6: is is that they think that there's a new way
- 11:49Speaker 6: that they can do it and it'll be okay.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You can do whatever you want to do.
- 11:53Speaker 6: God gave us all the power of choice. You can
- 11:57Speaker 6: make any decision you want, to be anything you want.
- 12:00Speaker 6: Good luck. Let me see how that worked for you.
- 12:04Speaker 6: I don't know what's wrong with taking a man's name.
- 12:07Speaker 6: If you don't want it, though, you don't have to
- 12:08Speaker 6: take it. And if he cool with you not having it,
- 12:11Speaker 6: keep your name. You know now, just the way I am.
- 12:17Speaker 6: You don't want my name, you don't want to be
- 12:20Speaker 6: miss Harvey, then that's cool. Ain't no problem. But the
- 12:24Speaker 6: benefits you talk about them, benefits of being miss Harvey
- 12:32Speaker 6: will be reduced greatly. I ain't got no problem. Yeah,
- 12:39Speaker 6: ain't no ask me anything you want if within my power,
- 12:42Speaker 6: I'll do it. I'm that's off the table.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Ain't no more.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I'm gonna die for you. We're not doing that.
- 12:52Speaker 6: I fight.
- 12:53Speaker 2: I'll fight a little while.
- 12:54Speaker 6: But if it gets tricky, if you don't join in
- 12:58Speaker 6: this fight, they might they might take a us. Yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 6: all of that to death, do you part. That's off
- 13:09Speaker 6: the table. Because I run across somebody fine enough that
- 13:14Speaker 6: won't this last name they gonna get it. What else
- 13:17Speaker 6: should I'll just telling you what's off the table with me.
- 13:22Speaker 6: It's just Steve Hardy, y'all. You you ain't got the
- 13:24Speaker 6: feel this way.
- 13:27Speaker 2: You don't want my name, you don't hell man, you
- 13:30Speaker 2: don't just house.
- 13:32Speaker 1: All right, guys, yay, put them keys down, coming up,
- 13:39Speaker 1: Thank you, guys.
- 13:40Speaker 10: Thirty two minutes after, we'll hear from the nephew as
- 13:42Speaker 10: he runs that prank back right after this.
- 13:46Speaker 1: You're listening Steve Hardy Morning Show.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Hearst Uh yeah, Brendan, Hey, I'm trying to reach you.

- 14:14Speaker 12: Where you yeah, so yeah, so everything all right.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Everything's fine. Well, I got a little issue and I'm
- 14:22Speaker 2: trying to get to the bottom of it. Now.
- 14:24Speaker 11: You work in the before service start. You work in
- 14:29Speaker 11: the parking lot on and yeah, and you tell people
- 14:35Speaker 11: where the park and stuff right right right?
- 14:37Speaker 12: What you looking for some employment? You want to you
- 14:40Speaker 12: want to join us?
- 14:42Speaker 11: No? No, no, what to see the issue I got, Man,
- 14:45Speaker 11: I've been dealing with this probably about the last two months.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Now, Okay, hold on, I'm trying to tell you.
- 14:52Speaker 11: So the problem is when I come to the church
- 14:54Speaker 11: last couple of months, man, I've been I've been coming
- 14:58Speaker 11: like my my my, my regular card and broke down
- 15:01Speaker 11: on me. So I had I got an old van
- 15:04Speaker 11: that I've been there to hear about that. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:06Speaker 11: you know, I got an old van that I've been
- 15:07Speaker 11: using to get around in. So now for the last
- 15:11Speaker 11: two months, I've been riding in it when I coming
- 15:13Speaker 11: to the church. You know you and I find out
- 15:17Speaker 11: who you were, but you keep sending me to the
- 15:21Speaker 11: back of the parking lot and then but you know
- 15:24Speaker 11: I noticed, now, nah, bro not on the real So
- 15:28Speaker 11: you sending me to the back, and I'm noticing when
- 15:30Speaker 11: I see cars that's like two ten, twenty fifteen cars.
- 15:34Speaker 12: Well brother, well listen, we don't have no set place
- 15:39Speaker 12: where we put model car. You know, I just I
- 15:41Speaker 12: just direct the traffic. Brother.
- 15:43Speaker 11: Okay, So so you're trying to tell me for the
- 15:45Speaker 11: last two months, you just direct traffic, but you got
- 15:49Speaker 11: but you directed me to the back every time.
- 15:51Speaker 2: But a car behind me or a car in front
- 15:54Speaker 2: of me. It'll be going to the front.
- 15:57Speaker 12: Now where you getting this information from me?
- 16:01Speaker 2: I haven't seen you man send people to the front
- 16:04Speaker 2: to park. I have seen you do.
- 16:05Speaker 7: No.
- 16:06Speaker 12: No, I just I just put you know, the bigger
- 16:09Speaker 12: vehicles in the in the back and uh certain you know,
- 16:15Speaker 12: it's really no schedule if if you're coming in, I
- 16:17Speaker 12: just I just direct you to the right of the left.
- 16:19Speaker 12: It's really nothing to it.
- 16:20Speaker 11: Really, So you're not trying to say so my my
- 16:25Speaker 11: van being ragged. It ain't the reason why I'm be.
- 16:27Speaker 12: No, no, no, no, no, no, that's not what we're about. Now. Well,
- 16:34Speaker 12: I'm sorry you feel that way. I mean, so I
- 16:37Speaker 12: guess this Sunday.
- 16:39Speaker 11: Let me let me I'm gonna tell you about this
- 16:40Speaker 11: Sunday to make sure. No, no, let me tell you
- 16:43Speaker 11: right now when my van pull up there Sunday, I'm

- 16:52Speaker 11: it's gonna be a problem if.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I get said to the back.
- 16:55Speaker 12: You know now, you don't have to cut from just this.
- 16:57Speaker 12: Calm down, it's not it's not that SI.
- 17:00Speaker 11: No, it is because see what's already. No, I know
- 17:03Speaker 11: I got a ragged man, I know that. I know that,
- 17:06Speaker 11: but I see that's the reason why I'm getting sent
- 17:08Speaker 11: to the back. And I know it because the car
- 17:10Speaker 11: I have before y'all was sending me up front. So
- 17:12Speaker 11: already know I'm just saying. I'm telling you right now, Brendan,
- 17:16Speaker 11: I'm telling you right now, it's gonna be a problem
- 17:19Speaker 11: if I.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Get sent to the back.
- 17:21Speaker 12: Brother, you just singled me out.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And no, no, you know I didn't single you out.
- 17:27Speaker 2: You you are the person that has been sending me
- 17:30Speaker 2: to the back.
- 17:31Speaker 12: Dude, No, no, I haven't.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Hey, man, why you keep Why are you sitting?
- 17:36Speaker 12: Why you accusing me?

- 17:40Speaker 12: You're calling me, You calling me out of the blue,
- 17:42Speaker 12: and you accuse me of something that I'm not doing.
- 17:46Speaker 2: No, no, you just sent my ragged band to the back.
- 17:49Speaker 2: You didn't done it. You didn't done it two months straight, Brendan,
- 17:53Speaker 2: you have done it. Yes, yes you have. You sent
- 17:57Speaker 2: all the pretty cars up front. That's what you're doing.
- 17:59Speaker 2: But I tell you what come Sunday gonna be a problem.
- 18:02Speaker 7: Now.
- 18:02Speaker 2: You threatened me.
- 18:03Speaker 12: I mean now now listen, we we we can meet
- 18:06Speaker 12: up at it. We can meet up there to be

- 18:09Speaker 2: I don't care how you want to do it, Brendon.
- 18:11Speaker 12: You actually do know how you want to do it,
- 18:13Speaker 12: So bring it then.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Okay, I'm letting you know my car. Yeah, my van
- 18:16Speaker 2: gonna build.
- 18:18Speaker 12: Come get Ben your band. It's me and you. How
- 18:21Speaker 12: about that you want you and you want to talk
- 18:22Speaker 12: to Tony stuff?
- 18:24Speaker 2: Oh okay, so you are you sweating all up? Now?
- 18:27Speaker 2: All right?
- 18:28Speaker 12: So now like you already did so, I guess I'm matching.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Okay, Well, no, I'm gonna call.
- 18:33Speaker 12: Listen, brother, brother, listen, You're not gonna call my phone
- 18:36Speaker 12: and threaten me and tell me what you what you
- 18:38Speaker 12: think I did? When I didn't do it.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I told you man, you've been sending me to back man.

- 22:16Speaker 10: And singer Brandy said Juan Ye Morris from Boys to

- 22:25Speaker 10: the top of the hour.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Right now.
- 22:28Speaker 10: Yeah, it is time to ask the c l O,
- 22:33Speaker 10: our Chief Love Officer, Steve Harvey.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Okay, we'll get into it all right. This is from
- 22:38Speaker 1: Taylor and East Orange.
- 22:40Speaker 10: Taylor writes, my husband works from home and refuses to
- 22:44Speaker 10: clean up or have dinner ready when I get home.
- 22:47Speaker 10: The first thing he asked me is what's for dinner?
- 22:50Speaker 10: His schedule is more flexible, so I think it's only
- 22:53Speaker 10: right that he helps out.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Am I asking for too much?
- 22:57Speaker 2: Absolutely? Not rich is a participation sport. Show you that's
- 23:04Speaker 2: what it is. Come on now, and now I know.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Traditionally there are old school roles.
- 23:12Speaker 6: Man work, woman clean, take care of house, take maybe
- 23:17Speaker 6: make maybe well man, yeah that's nice. Wahoo talk you
- 23:26Speaker 6: know we use in the cave all that work. I'm
- 23:30Speaker 6: just telling you right now, man, you have to participate.
- 23:33Speaker 2: And she works.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yeah, he works from home, but he you know, he
- 23:39Speaker 1: could still do some stuff.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I don't.
- 23:42Speaker 6: I don't know what working from home means. But you
- 23:45Speaker 6: do have if ain't nobody watching me. Uh, I don't
- 23:51Speaker 6: really have a job I could do from home.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I got to I got yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I can't do fairly few from home.
- 24:00Speaker 10: No, that would be interesting if you did, though, I
- 24:03Speaker 10: have all those different people at your house.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Pop surveyed on the refrigerator.
- 24:07Speaker 7: Let's go come on.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Oh man, that's crazy. I wouldn't even think about it.
- 24:11Speaker 10: Like that. Oh hell no, all right, So yeah, she's
- 24:20Speaker 10: not asking for too much, all right. Moving on to
- 24:23Speaker 10: Linda and Chattanooga. Linda Wright, I'm dating my best friend's ex.
- 24:28Speaker 10: They dated twenty years ago, and she gave us her blessing.
- 24:32Speaker 10: But when he's around, she flirts and brings up the past.
- 24:36Speaker 10: If she says remember when to him one more time,
- 24:40Speaker 10: I'm going to lose it.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Is she purposely doing this?
- 24:43Speaker 11: Hell?
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, how.
- 24:47Speaker 2: You accidentally say remember when?
- 24:50Speaker 1: Remember when?
- 24:53Speaker 3: Remember when?
- 24:54Speaker 8: We?
- 24:54Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 24:55Speaker 1: But why are you dating him?
- 24:57Speaker 6: Though?
- 24:57Speaker 1: I mean I know all the men in the world.
- 24:59Speaker 6: Yeah, No, no, no, no, no, like it's okay to date.
- 25:02Speaker 6: If she dated him twenty years ago, y'all didn't have
- 25:05Speaker 6: a relationship, then why are y'all together? Why why are
- 25:12Speaker 6: the three of y'all someway to That's the stupid part right.
- 25:18Speaker 1: There, because the two women are best friends.
- 25:21Speaker 6: Well, we're gonna see how long deck that's not fit
- 25:25Speaker 6: to be the case anymore.
- 25:27Speaker 10: No, no, because if she just said it, if she
- 25:30Speaker 10: says remember when died him one more time, it's gonna.
- 25:34Speaker 1: She can't wait to say remember She's going to say
- 25:39Speaker 1: it again. But twenty years ago though, Come on, come on,
- 25:44Speaker 1: all right.
- 25:45Speaker 10: Moving on to Marlon in Oxford, Marlin writes, I gave
- 25:51Speaker 10: my mom's son five hundred. I gave my son's mom
- 25:54Speaker 10: five hundred dollars for his graduation expenses. She bought him
- 25:58Speaker 10: designer sneakers.
- 25:59Speaker 1: With the money. My son called me to get more money.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I ain't got it.
- 26:04Speaker 10: It took a lot for me to pull an extra
- 26:06Speaker 10: five hundred dollars together. Is this my problem or his mom's, Well,
- 26:11Speaker 10: it's your problem. Well he already gave five hundred, he's.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Saying, and the boy wants some more money.
- 26:18Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, well for his graduation expenses. Okay, So he said,
- 26:23Speaker 10: all right, so what should he do?
- 26:25Speaker 2: Then put this gown on and walk. That's what you
- 26:28Speaker 2: better do, yeap walk.
- 26:34Speaker 6: I would tell him, I said, look, man, I gave
- 26:36Speaker 6: you mom to get your graduation gift five hundred dollars,
- 26:42Speaker 6: and she chose to buy your shoes.
- 26:44Speaker 2: That was my gift for the graduation.
- 26:46Speaker 6: So you can explain it to him like that, maybe
- 26:50Speaker 6: he'll understand, and if he don't, then you have a
- 26:53Speaker 6: decision to make.
- 26:54Speaker 2: How you handle it next time, or do you just
- 26:58Speaker 2: deal directly with your boy?
- 27:02Speaker 6: You know that's kind of a tough one because if
- 27:06Speaker 6: he's eighteen, you're paying child support.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, you can give a shock to the gate and
- 27:10Speaker 1: when he comes eighteen, you know.
- 27:13Speaker 6: And after eighteen you could deal directly with him. Well
- 27:16Speaker 6: you can still have a relationship with him and say, hey,
- 27:18Speaker 6: I pay child support, but I want to do this
- 27:20Speaker 6: for you, which is what you did with the sneakers.
- 27:24Speaker 6: So yeah, but at one point in time, you have
- 27:26Speaker 6: to be truthful with your kids. I've had to have
- 27:28Speaker 6: these real conversations with my sons about what really happened.
- 27:32Speaker 1: So and five hundred dollars is a lot of money.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I mean, you know he said he had just grape
- 27:37Speaker 1: to put that together.
- 27:38Speaker 11: So yeah, you know rolls everywhere you're going, just keep
- 27:42Speaker 11: waying the rope. Ain't nobody gonna see underneath the rod
- 27:45Speaker 11: robe to graduate camp and gown every were the whole
- 27:49Speaker 11: weekend where the rope?
- 27:52Speaker 1: What's that? And that's gonna do what?
- 27:54Speaker 2: Right now? We ain't got to spend five hundred or nothing? Now,
- 27:57Speaker 2: just quare the robe you go, I'm with you, Steve
- 28:03Speaker 2: with you Rod? Why we are still going overall?
- 28:12Speaker 1: Don't you walk? Push one?
- 28:15Speaker 2: She won't.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Yeah, this is kind of a problem for U. See
- 28:21Speaker 1: this right here?
- 28:22Speaker 10: Yeah, the mom all right? Last one, Steve, last one.
- 28:27Speaker 10: This is from Vett in Stamford. Vet writes, My boyfriend
- 28:31Speaker 10: and I moved in together. He told me that he
- 28:34Speaker 10: would use the bathroom in the hallway and let me
- 28:37Speaker 10: use the one in our bedroom. But he wakes up
- 28:40Speaker 10: at night and he uses my bathroom.
- 28:42Speaker 1: His aim is always off? How do I keep him
- 28:46Speaker 1: out of there?
- 28:48Speaker 2: Wow? I don't standing on the problem. Y'all want y'all
- 28:54Speaker 2: move in together? Yeah?
- 28:57Speaker 1: She wants her own bathroom because it's crazy.
- 29:00Speaker 11: Heat them all on that wall everything In the morning,
- 29:05Speaker 11: he done wore the wall out everything.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Who did you marry?
- 29:09Speaker 1: They're gonna have to break up. This is unacceptable. It
- 29:15Speaker 1: don't take.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I've been peeling, Okay. I just want you to know it.
- 29:29Speaker 2: At some point in time, you're gonna have to master
- 29:32Speaker 2: this thing now, grown man. Rule number one. This is
- 29:37Speaker 2: how you have to make it works up. The seat
- 29:41Speaker 2: up is not an option. It has to be up.
- 29:43Speaker 2: There is nowhere around this.
- 29:46Speaker 6: When you're done and you get a little sprinkle sprinkle
- 29:49Speaker 6: on the realm of it, you gotta take some tissue
- 29:53Speaker 6: and wipe it off.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Flush And didn't wash your hands. Next thing you do.
- 29:58Speaker 6: You can't have just a floor around there, cause you
- 30:02Speaker 6: tink a tinkle on the float. That little drop it
- 30:04Speaker 6: hit the float. She come and sit down, put her
- 30:06Speaker 6: foot in it.
- 30:07Speaker 2: She said, to be mad.
- 30:12Speaker 10: Don't get me upset this morning, just thinking about it.
- 30:15Speaker 10: All right, we gotta go, Colo, Thank you, coming up
- 30:19Speaker 10: to the timey hour. Yeah, we'll have some entertainment news
- 30:24Speaker 10: right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. According
- 30:33Speaker 10: to TMZ, former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Christine Nome
- 30:38Speaker 10: is devastated over the allegations.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Her husband of thirty three years.
- 30:42Speaker 10: His name is Brian Nome, is a cross dresser who
- 30:45Speaker 10: takes selfies yeah, wearing oversized fake boobs. According to The
- 30:50Speaker 10: Daily Mail, Byron snap pictures of himself wearing oversized fake
- 30:55Speaker 10: breasts and chatted with adult performers from the bembo Fication
- 30:59Speaker 10: fetish about their massively augmented booths. Other pictures allegedly published
- 31:06Speaker 10: show Byron wearing women's clothing now Yeah. Christine nom responded
- 31:12Speaker 10: to these allegations, and her people released a statement.
- 31:17Speaker 1: They said, quote miss not here, it is Steve.
- 31:21Speaker 10: Miss Nomans devastated the family was blindsided by this, and
- 31:25Speaker 10: they asked for privacy and prayers at this time.

- 31:47Speaker 6: Oh no no no no, your your president of your party.
- 31:54Speaker 6: Don't give privacy and prayers to nobody.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Hm hmm.
- 31:59Speaker 2: He has set the tone for how to treat people.
- 32:04Speaker 6: And it is as rude and obnoxious behavior as you
- 32:07Speaker 6: can perform publicly in front of a camera. And it's
- 32:10Speaker 6: okay with the head of your administration. So no, no, no, no, no,
- 32:14Speaker 6: no no, don't come over here talking about no, no, we're.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Not fred for you.
- 32:18Speaker 11: Now.
- 32:19Speaker 1: This is different though, This is why different?
- 32:25Speaker 6: Yeah what And.
- 32:29Speaker 1: They haven't had this problem, this particular problem before you.
- 32:33Speaker 6: And well no, no, no, no no, this is embarrassing.
- 32:38Speaker 6: No no no no, let's go and and let me
- 32:42Speaker 6: tell you something. This is that this party and administration
- 32:47Speaker 6: stands on that. Oh they don't. They ain't nobody free
- 32:52Speaker 6: to do nothing in this country according to them. But man, yeah,
- 32:57Speaker 6: I've seen the picture.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I saw it.
- 32:59Speaker 6: Oh yeah, sir, this dude right here, Well let me
- 33:04Speaker 6: say this, Well, have we not seen this before, have
- 33:10Speaker 6: we Where have we not seen the family have to
- 33:13Speaker 6: be surprised when they.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Discover some crazy activity from the man in the family.
- 33:20Speaker 10: Well yeah, yeah, okay, you're generally speaking, you're saying, right,
- 33:25Speaker 10: you can't.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Get privacy on this right here. No you can't.
- 33:29Speaker 1: It's out there. Yeah, it's too late. The privacy part
- 33:33Speaker 1: is over.
- 33:34Speaker 2: It's too late.
- 33:35Speaker 8: You're the former secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.
- 33:39Speaker 2: We all know who she is.
- 33:41Speaker 1: You know she walks the cats, you know Christinoans. So nope,
- 33:45Speaker 1: you can't get privacy.
- 33:46Speaker 2: No, she said she is he asking for prap.
- 33:57Speaker 10: Shut up, Telly. Family is asking for privacy and prayer.
- 34:03Speaker 10: The pictures are out there.
- 34:05Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Listen to me.
- 34:08Speaker 6: It's not going to be no privacy. We can that's
- 34:11Speaker 6: off the tape. My question is is do he want
- 34:15Speaker 6: to prayer?
- 34:17Speaker 14: It was family, He's a part of the family. The
- 34:21Speaker 14: family don't like praying for people that don't want to
- 34:25Speaker 14: be praised. I have found that to be a waste
- 34:30Speaker 14: of time.
- 34:32Speaker 1: All right, we're moving on. Do what you like, but
- 34:35Speaker 1: that's what they want.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Okay, where is my bra we my clothes? I can't
- 34:42Speaker 2: find none of my stuff.
- 34:45Speaker 1: All right, we're moving on.
- 34:46Speaker 10: This is kind of a devastating story right here. Brandy
- 34:50Speaker 10: has opened up. The singer Brandy has opened up like
- 34:54Speaker 10: never before. She has a new memoir called Phases, and
- 34:57Speaker 10: she said she dated boys to mend singer One Morris
- 35:01Speaker 10: back when she was just sixteen years old and he
- 35:04Speaker 10: was twenty two, six years older than her. And now
- 35:07Speaker 10: it feels like he quote took advantage of her youth
- 35:10Speaker 10: and her I guess naive day. However, back in twenty
- 35:16Speaker 10: twenty one, juan Ye had a different account of their relationship.
- 35:21Speaker 10: Juanier posted on social media that he and Brandy were
- 35:24Speaker 10: friends and once she became of age, they had a
- 35:27Speaker 10: relationship and fell in love. Brandy also wrote quote, I
- 35:31Speaker 10: was not a fast girl with a crush. I was
- 35:33Speaker 10: not a dramatic teenager who couldn't handle rejection. I was
- 35:36Speaker 10: not an unstable, obsessive fan. I was a child and
- 35:42Speaker 10: he was an adult. And it's time the world understood
- 35:45Speaker 10: the difference.
- 35:47Speaker 6: Well said man, I have a question about that. Now, Yeah,
- 35:52Speaker 6: I have a question about that.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Oh, oh it's her true, Yeah it is well her book.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, y'all, I'm just saying though.
- 36:03Speaker 6: Now, first of all, now I know, I know, I
- 36:08Speaker 6: know Brandy's mama, who has been her manager.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Her entire career.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Yeah, very involved.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I don't see her.
- 36:17Speaker 6: Allowing sonya that sister put some time in with them kids.
- 36:22Speaker 6: I can't see her allowing a twenty two year old
- 36:26Speaker 6: man to date her sixteen year old daughter, Brandan Hano
- 36:31Speaker 6: con sixteen.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Well, she said she lied to her mom.
- 36:36Speaker 8: More passages from the book what I saw today Internet,
- 36:40Speaker 8: she lies she would sneak out and things like that.
- 36:42Speaker 6: So sneak out, sneak out the house. Yeah at sixteen. Yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 6: Brandy mama, y'all, man, y'all need to come home. Man,
- 36:53Speaker 6: y'all need to brand book.
- 36:58Speaker 10: Her book is called Faces all right, coming up at
- 37:02Speaker 10: twenty minutes after the hour tomorrow is good Friday, guys.
- 37:06Speaker 10: And so when we come back, we're going to discuss
- 37:08Speaker 10: the perfect fish fry right after this.
- 37:12Speaker 1: You're listening, Dame Harvey Morning Show.

- 40:08Speaker 11: That's that's but to me, red snapper bet on the grill,
- 40:13Speaker 11: if you know what I'm saying, that's a lot better
- 40:15Speaker 11: on the trip.
- 40:16Speaker 6: Yeah, well you know, man, see, I started frying fish
- 40:21Speaker 6: when I was homeless, so I ain't have a whole lot.

- 40:57Speaker 10: Yeah all right, all right, coming up a third, four
- 41:00Speaker 10: minutes after the hour. Why is everyone so angry these days?
- 41:04Speaker 10: We got to talk about that. Right after this, we
- 41:06Speaker 10: do everybody's ad.
- 41:08Speaker 1: You're listening hard Morning show.
- 41:16Speaker 10: Yesterday, you guys recall we were talking about why is
- 41:19Speaker 10: everyone so angry? What is the problem is that what
- 41:22Speaker 10: we see on the news. Is it the political divide?
- 41:26Speaker 10: Is it racism?
- 41:27Speaker 1: Is it the war? Is it the economic uncertainty?
- 41:31Speaker 8: What is it?
- 41:32Speaker 10: We've seen viral road rage, aggressive videos, not to mention
- 41:36Speaker 10: all the fights and all that stuff on social media.
- 41:38Speaker 1: So what do you think is the problem? Is it
- 41:41Speaker 1: d all of the above or what is going on?
- 41:45Speaker 10: Because everybody's angry, everybody's cussing each other out.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I mean it's just fighting.
- 41:50Speaker 10: Yeah, where's the where are your manners? Where's the kindness
- 41:54Speaker 10: these days?
- 41:55Speaker 11: The fights, the fights I see on social media, they
- 41:59Speaker 11: just it's NonStop.
- 42:01Speaker 2: It's ever swee. It's just like, man, they fighting everywhere
- 42:06Speaker 2: for real.
- 42:07Speaker 7: You know.
- 42:07Speaker 6: I think a lot of it because of social media.
- 42:10Speaker 6: He is for social media. It's amazing what these people
- 42:14Speaker 6: are doing for clicks and views now. And then also
- 42:18Speaker 6: I think it's the condition of the world that we
- 42:20Speaker 6: live in. We live in in some times, man, where
- 42:22Speaker 6: it ain't a lot of happy news on TV.
- 42:25Speaker 2: So listen to me. If you're listening to music that's.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Negative, yeah, I agree.
- 42:30Speaker 6: If you turn on the news and it's negative. You
- 42:35Speaker 6: turn on social media and here comes some more negativity. Now,
- 42:39Speaker 6: I guess what if you allow that to inundate your mind,
- 42:43Speaker 6: then you're going to become a.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Part of it.
- 42:45Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Period, That's why, man, I've changed, you know, I like
- 42:52Speaker 6: you know, I still love forty eight hours.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the first forty eight that's just for me.
- 42:59Speaker 6: You know. I love to see how they get caught
- 43:02Speaker 6: what y'all doing, and it helps me when I'm talking
- 43:04Speaker 6: to my kids and.
- 43:05Speaker 1: You like the interrogation room and everybody fall apart.
- 43:09Speaker 2: He nobody survived that room like that in there, you
- 43:17Speaker 2: and him.
- 43:17Speaker 6: Man.
- 43:18Speaker 2: But if they get you uncomfortable, you wanna get out
- 43:20Speaker 2: of That's what you tell it, h.
- 43:23Speaker 7: That you know what.
- 43:25Speaker 6: I started watching because I'm becoming more spiritual, not not
- 43:32Speaker 6: not in a sense that that's all I want to
- 43:35Speaker 6: talk about it. I lost my sense of humor because
- 43:37Speaker 6: I'm being holy. Now, that ain't it. That ain't it
- 43:39Speaker 6: ain't even close to that. But I've started watching a
- 43:43Speaker 6: different series and I and I started I downloaded this app.
- 43:47Speaker 2: I don't want to tell you what it is yet, Scott,
- 43:49Speaker 2: see how it worked for me.
- 43:50Speaker 6: But I started watching the different things, like I'm watching
- 43:53Speaker 6: this new series called House of David.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I said I was gonna watch that this weekend.
- 43:59Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna tell you, man, the story of David
- 44:03Speaker 6: and Goliath, because it gets into what the real reason
- 44:08Speaker 6: why David fought golife in the first place, and it's
- 44:11Speaker 6: actually in there because people don't understand. He didn't go
- 44:15Speaker 6: out there to be the hero. Because the king had
- 44:20Speaker 6: promised whoever defeated this giant would rule over the land.
- 44:29Speaker 6: He had another choice, or his daughter's hand in marriage.
- 44:33Speaker 6: David used to sit in his window and watch that
- 44:35Speaker 6: girl go by in that carriage, and people was cheering
- 44:39Speaker 6: and all that that they wanted the girl.
- 44:41Speaker 2: So when the option came about, so when King Saul said,
- 44:46Speaker 2: you know what you want?
- 44:47Speaker 6: You want this? Hey, I want that girl, man, I
- 44:52Speaker 6: want that chick would fly. So I've been I've been
- 44:56Speaker 6: watching stuff like that because it helps me. It's really
- 45:00Speaker 6: helped me learn myself because you know, a lot of
- 45:02Speaker 6: times when you read the Bible, you think these stories
- 45:05Speaker 6: are just in there, but they take they take this survey.
- 45:08Speaker 2: It's a really extensive survey.
- 45:09Speaker 6: You take on this app, and the app turns you
- 45:14Speaker 6: your personality, your gun into a biblical figure. Oh wow,
- 45:21Speaker 6: who are your closest to? And I'm a cross between
- 45:27Speaker 6: Paul and David whoa.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, that's something.
- 45:38Speaker 6: It really opened my eyes. So when I was looking
- 45:40Speaker 6: at this stuff about Paul out it became more relatable
- 45:43Speaker 6: while I understood him.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Okay, all right, all right, uh coming up next, thank
- 45:50Speaker 1: you for that.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Come welcome.
- 45:55Speaker 2: To fight.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
- 45:58Speaker 10: Took a heart, don't worry about that. Yeah, all good,
- 46:03Speaker 10: it's all good, all right. Coming up next to his
- 46:05Speaker 10: the nephew and the prank phone call for today. Right
- 46:08Speaker 10: after this, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 46:16Speaker 10: Coming up at the top of the hour, right about
- 46:18Speaker 10: four minutes after. It's my strawberry letter for today and
- 46:21Speaker 10: the subject is the Big Reveal. We'll get into that
- 46:26Speaker 10: find out what they're revealing. H Right after this, I mean,
- 46:30Speaker 10: right after this prank with the nephew, what you got

- 56:40Speaker 10: All right, if you thank you? The subject the big Reveal.
- 56:43Speaker 10: Dear Stephen Shirley, I've been in a secret relationship and
- 56:47Speaker 10: it has served me well. I overlooked physical attraction and
- 56:51Speaker 10: I decided to follow my heart. We have the best
- 56:54Speaker 10: conversations and we have real fun when we're together. He's
- 56:58Speaker 10: a provider and he puts it down in the bedroom.
- 57:02Speaker 10: We're moving in with each other at the beginning of May,
- 57:05Speaker 10: so he's itching to let my family know about us.
- 57:08Speaker 10: He decided that he's going to church with me on
- 57:11Speaker 10: Easter Sunday. I don't think I'm ready for the big reveal.
- 57:14Speaker 10: Here's why. He's my preacher's son, and he looks exactly.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Like his daddy.
- 57:19Speaker 10: But at a younger as a younger man. He's only
- 57:22Speaker 10: thirty two, but he has a receding hairline and his
- 57:25Speaker 10: skin is bumpy, just like his daddy. He's not overweight,
- 57:30Speaker 10: but he's not slim. These are all things we can
- 57:33Speaker 10: work on, so I overlook them in the beginning. I
- 57:37Speaker 10: run out of time to fix him up, and now
- 57:39Speaker 10: he wants to go to service on Easter Sunday. My preacher,
- 57:43Speaker 10: his daddy, has no idea that we are dating. I
- 57:47Speaker 10: don't think he will approve of me because I have
- 57:49Speaker 10: a child and I got arrested for stealing when I
- 57:52Speaker 10: was young. He was also my counselor after my mom
- 57:55Speaker 10: made me get baptized and go to church every Sunday.
- 57:59Speaker 10: I feel like he still judging me when I see him.
- 58:02Speaker 10: But the bigger problem is when my family realizes who
- 58:05Speaker 10: my man is. My brothers have teased my boyfriend since
- 58:09Speaker 10: we were kids, so when they see us together at church,
- 58:13Speaker 10: they are going to make a scene. I encouraged my
- 58:16Speaker 10: boyfriend to get a new suit, but he's got painful
- 58:19Speaker 10: razor bumps, so he can't shave now. Right now, I
- 58:24Speaker 10: admire his confidence and trust me, I have no room
- 58:27Speaker 10: to judge I don't want others to judge him either.
- 58:30Speaker 10: Should I tell my family about us before Sunday?
- 58:35Speaker 2: I mean, you don't have to.
- 58:36Speaker 10: This is your business. I didn't really get the part
- 58:39Speaker 10: about the new suit and the razor bumps, but okay,
- 58:44Speaker 10: I think you're way too worried about other people think
- 58:46Speaker 10: about you.
- 58:47Speaker 1: I just think that's an issue. Is this your man?
- 58:50Speaker 1: If this is your man, then why are you ashamed?
- 58:53Speaker 1: He's not ashamed of you.
- 58:55Speaker 10: In fact, he wants to tell everybody starting on Easter
- 58:58Speaker 10: Sunday where everybody is at church. So what if your brothers,
- 59:04Speaker 10: what if they have something to say, It shouldn't stop
- 59:07Speaker 10: you from being happy. If you like this guy, his dad,
- 59:09Speaker 10: the pastor, should mind his business too. What you did
- 59:13Speaker 10: happened a long time ago, and obviously you've made big
- 59:17Speaker 10: changes since then. I think for you, the best way
- 59:19Speaker 10: to handle all this is just to show up at
- 59:21Speaker 10: church with him.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Let him know this is what it is. Let everybody
- 59:26Speaker 1: know this.
- 59:26Speaker 10: Is what it is, whether they like it or not
- 59:28Speaker 10: respectively respectfully. Just be happy, I think, and just work
- 59:33Speaker 10: on the stuff you need to work on, like the
- 59:35Speaker 10: razor bumps and his weight if that's an issue, and
- 59:38Speaker 10: whatever you have going on. Since you said you have
- 59:41Speaker 10: no room to judge, I think you should just be
- 59:44Speaker 10: with the guy. If that's who you like, Steve.
- 59:47Speaker 6: Well, well, well, Thyland, this letter is the big reveal. Yeah,
- 59:54Speaker 6: and yes it's going to be a big one. Based
- 59:57Speaker 6: on this letter right here, now, you don't have as
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: big a problem as you think you have. I think
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: you've put more into this. You've produced anxiety over this
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: Easter Sunday. Anxiety comes from you concern yourself with the
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: two things that you can't control, your past and your future.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: Once you have major concerns about either one of those, tada,
- 1:00:24Speaker 6: let me introduce you. You are now suffering from anxiety.
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: You're worried about what's gonna happen this Sunday when y'all
- 1:00:32Speaker 6: get at church.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Now, but how did it come about? Well, I see
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: some things in this letter.
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: You said you're in a secret relationship and it has
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: served me well.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: Oh so he's feeling the serving you well.
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: Block And if you got to this secret, wonderful relationship,
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: that has served you well because you overlooked some physical
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: attraction and you followed your heart. So based on this letter,
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: you done fell in love with this half fat pole dunkle,
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: little chunky, chippy face. You just fell in love with
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: the ugly man. Let's just go and put it out there.
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: You have fallen in love with an ugly man. But
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: he's got some benefits as the most ugly man. Do
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: I can attest to this. We had the best conversation.
- 1:01:39Speaker 6: You have got to be a great conversationalist because if
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: somebody can sit there and stand looking at you, you
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: have got to keep their attention by having a fascinating conversation.
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: You can't be ugly and can't talk. I'm just tell
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: you that right now. You can't be both of those.
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: You have to be able to talk. Yeah, he's a provider.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: You got to be a buy some.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: You an ugly man.
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: You can't talking, You can't buy nothing. You ain't gonna
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: be able to stay in there. And he puts it
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: down in the bedroom. He has no choice. He'dne bought
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: performance videos, tapes, hookers, he'dn't been out there trying to
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: hone his skills set. Yeah, ugly people, you can't just
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: practice all the time. Oh, you gotta go get some
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: help unless you just want to practice on a bunch
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: of other women. You try to act wow, so that
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: when we get back, I'll tell you what's really going
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: on with you.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: But I'm full of inside information.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Okay, Oh, I know this.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Will oh too well?
- 1:02:49Speaker 10: All right, uh well, we will have part two of
- 1:02:53Speaker 10: Steve's response has promised as twenty three minutes at twenty
- 1:02:56Speaker 10: three minutes after the hour of today's Strawberry Letters, subject
- 1:03:00Speaker 10: the Big Reveal. We'll get back into that right after this.
- 1:03:05Speaker 10: You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:03:13Speaker 8: Do you ever notice your floor still look dirty even
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: after you mop? Power Mop gives you a deeper clean
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: you can see and feel. Unlike stream mops, Swift for
- 1:03:22Speaker 8: power Mop absorbs more dirt and locks it away even
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: and hard to reach places.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: Like behind the toilet.
- 1:03:28Speaker 8: The new micro scrubbers deliver thousands of tiny deep cleaning
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: actions for results that look, smell, and feel clean.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: No more dirty floors. Try the Swift for power Mop.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Love it or your money back? All right?
- 1:03:41Speaker 10: Come on, Steve, Let's recap today's Strawberry Letter subject the
- 1:03:45Speaker 10: Big Reveal?
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: What you got for us?
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: Well, ladies, Gentlemen's big reveal is this woman is dating
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: a half fat, ugly man and she don't want nobody
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: to know.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: But it's a perfect.
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: Relationship because this relationship press served her well and because
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: of that, she that overlook the physical attraction and decided
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: to follow her heart.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: We have the best conversations. I'm gonna tell you something.
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: Ugly men know how to hold your attention because you
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: got to be a great conversation because you hard to
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: look at. So you gotta be able to talk constantly
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: or steady flow of wonderful words and stuff to keep
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: people in front of you cause cause you toe up.
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: We have real fun with me together. He's a provider.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: He got to be.
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: All his money is spent on keeping you happy and
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: your attention. And he puts it down in the bedroom.
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: You ain't putting it down in the bedroom. He got
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: to He done bought in all types of people.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Help with that.
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: He had a couple of hookers come over because you know,
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: you ugly man, you just can't go do like you
- 1:04:48Speaker 6: want to do, so you gotta you gotta elicit some
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: services from somewhere.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: This is true, Hirley.
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: You don't tell me to stop any dating other ugly
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: women because he ugly. So that's the only way. He
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: didn't got but he didne got good at this bedroom.
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: He can handle them anything.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Now he doing it so good. You said we moving
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: in with each.
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: Other at the beginning of May, so he's itching to
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: let my family know about us. I will come back
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: to that line because I have an explanation for that.
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: He decided that we're gonna go to church with me
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: on Easter sunny. Everybody gonna be there. Who everybody feeling.
- 1:05:28Speaker 6: I don't think I'm ready for the big reveal because
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: I don't want people to know that I'm dating this
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: ugly man, just spending money and you're in the bedroom
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: getting getting your.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: Little socks twirled around.
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: And why because he is my preacher's son and he
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: looks exactly like his daddy. Or now you're preacher ugly too, well,
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: at least your preacher ugly. You know how to sit
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: there and watch an ugly person talk. I told you
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: ugly people is great conversationists. You said that he got
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: a church.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: You've been sitting there looking at him, but as a
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: younger man.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: He is only thirty two, but he has a receiving
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: hairline and his skin is bumpy, just like he daddy.
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: See right there, thirty two of the receiving hairline. We
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: had that going on on this show.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Focus Steve Focus.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: I am. I'm just trying to tell people. And Junior's
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: a good little hud.
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: Uh Well, back to the letter, h and his skin
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: is bumpy, just like his daddy. Uh huh, Well, let
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: me go back a little bit in this letter, because
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: you did say.
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: So.
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: He is itching to let my family know about us.
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: That's them bumps. That's them bumps on his face. That's
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: what that is. That's why he itching. He's stretched, just
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: digging in his face too.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Well.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: I can't wait to get up there on Sunday. Hold
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: your chein up in there and start scratching up under
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: your throat. That's what he do the whole time. He
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: be talking very good. He's handled that very well. And
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: he wants to go to service on Easter. My preacher,
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: who is his daddy, has no idea that we are dating. Well,
- 1:07:12Speaker 6: it's gonna be a big reveal. He gonna be shocked
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: and littly boy dating anybody. He might handle that pretty good,
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: but I don't think he will approve of me because
- 1:07:22Speaker 6: I had a child and I got arrested for stealing
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: when I was young. Oh, now we see why your
- 1:07:30Speaker 6: selection pool is so low. It ain't the baby, it's
- 1:07:35Speaker 6: to stealing. I can't have you keep coming over every
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: time you leave something else gone. That could be why
- 1:07:41Speaker 6: you're dating problems is while you got to reduce your
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: selection pool, you got to date the u repeople you got.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Have you quit stealing yet, that's the question.
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: Yeah, he was also my counselor after my mom made
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: me get baptized and go to church every Sunday. I
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: feel like he's still judging me when I see him.
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: But the bigger problem is that when my family realizes
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: who this man is, because my brothers have teased my
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: boyfriend since we was kids. So when they see us together,
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: Oh ah, y'all, so you dating cap'n Crunch.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: Oh, I see what's happening, Captain Crunch.
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: Yeah, oh hey it was up little Seal. Oh they
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: got all types of name for him. Yeah, I see
- 1:08:27Speaker 6: right now. And so then you said, I encourage my
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: boyfriend to get a new suit. But he's got painful
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: raise of bumps, so he can't shave right now. This
- 1:08:39Speaker 6: is extens its foliation problem. It's gonna take a minute,
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: but you could fix this. So instead of shaving, he
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: needs to exfoliate. Then he needs to get in the
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: mirror with a pair of needle nosed tweezers and pull
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: each hat out of each bump. But do not pull
- 1:08:56Speaker 6: the hair out your face. This is a big mistake
- 1:08:59Speaker 6: that me and make who have ingrown hands, ingrown hairs
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: calls when hair comes out of your face and curls
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: back into your skin. And it's easier to curl back
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: in your skin because you don't exfoliate. The more you
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: exfoliate and you remove the layers of dead skin, it
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: can't curl.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Back into your regular skin.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Got it.
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: Okay, that's how you keep them off. But you have
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: to pick each hair out of the bump and do
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: not shave it off. I mean, I mean, I mean,
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: do not pull it out. So once you do that,
- 1:09:32Speaker 6: then you got to exfoliate for three four days and
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: then shave and then the next day exfoliate again.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Oh he's gonna be fine. Post comments Yes you ain't
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: gonna be able to dating.

- 1:12:57Speaker 11: No?
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: No, I mean I mean how many weeks? It goes

- 1:13:03Speaker 6: Well, I can't believe you knew that about the monk. Yeah, Junior,
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: that's impressive.

- 1:13:25Speaker 2: You're going to. Where's the one? Oh, it's gonna be
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: in New York. I need three days in a row.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: I can't. I can't stay up there.
- 1:13:39Speaker 10: Coming up at the top of the hour. Man on
- 1:13:43Speaker 10: social media needs some advice. He says, I have siblings
- 1:13:46Speaker 10: I've never met. We'll talk about it right after this.
- 1:13:48Speaker 10: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. This is
- 1:13:55Speaker 10: from Terry on Steve Harvey FM. Terry says, my biological
- 1:14:00Speaker 10: father left my mom when I was an infant, but
- 1:14:03Speaker 10: she got together with my stepdad not long after, and
- 1:14:06Speaker 10: he's been my real dad my whole life. My biological
- 1:14:10Speaker 10: father has passed away now, but before he died, I
- 1:14:13Speaker 10: found his Facebook and saw that he had a family
- 1:14:16Speaker 10: and three kids. I thought about reaching out, but I
- 1:14:19Speaker 10: have no idea how that might impact my mother or
- 1:14:22Speaker 10: what it could open up. Do I leave things as
- 1:14:26Speaker 10: they are or take the risk of introducing myself and
- 1:14:29Speaker 10: potentially changing both of our lives.
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: Well, man, that's really up to you. How important is
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: that to you. I haven't been in that situation. I
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: have no experience at it, But it's totally up to you.
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: If you would like to meet your siblings, thenk going
- 1:14:47Speaker 6: over there and do it. I mean he died, yea,
- 1:14:51Speaker 6: So maybe people need to know what's happening.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: You know, they won't be.
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: As mad because you ain't trying to get over there
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: and take their daddy time and all like that. You
- 1:15:00Speaker 6: just say, I found y'all on Facebook. Man, he was
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: my father. I just wanted to say, hey, man, it's
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: nice to meet y'all. Glad to know I have still
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: have some connection to him. And and that's a cool
- 1:15:14Speaker 6: way to do it. And then and then if they
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: don't like that, then they buttholes and gone back to
- 1:15:19Speaker 6: your life.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:15:21Speaker 11: But his mama don't like it though, what this is
- 1:15:26Speaker 11: painful for her money?
- 1:15:29Speaker 6: Yeah, but you know you can't have these babies by
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: these men. And then the boy, the boy wanted never
- 1:15:34Speaker 6: met his real father and then he died. He was
- 1:15:37Speaker 6: raised by a man who was his dad.
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: He loves him.
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: He just doesn't take away anything. But you can't tell
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: a grown man how to feel once they grow up.
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: I'm not his biological father, so.
- 1:15:49Speaker 10: You know, because he left his mom when he was
- 1:15:51Speaker 10: a baby. Yeah, all right, moving on, we have time
- 1:15:55Speaker 10: for another one. This is Bailey on Steve BARBFM Bailey says,
- 1:15:59Speaker 10: I'm supposed to to get married in a few months,
- 1:16:01Speaker 10: but I'm having some serious doubts about my partner. He's
- 1:16:05Speaker 10: a great person in a lot of ways, but he
- 1:16:08Speaker 10: is highly dysfunctional. He struggles with follow through, managing responsibilities
- 1:16:13Speaker 10: and handling stress, and I feel like I'm carrying a
- 1:16:16Speaker 10: lot of the load for the both of us. I
- 1:16:18Speaker 10: love him but and don't want to walk away, but
- 1:16:22Speaker 10: I'm scared. At what point do I decide to move
- 1:16:24Speaker 10: forward anyway or call things off before it's too late?
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: What the best advice I got about marriage? The only
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: thing to change was with marriage is the appearance of
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: your left hand third finger. If you're dealing with these
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: problems now, they only going to magnify, y'all. Ain't even
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: marry chi, right right? He don't have the stress? Well, yeah,
- 1:16:47Speaker 6: you don't like responsibility. Please don't marry this man to
- 1:16:51Speaker 6: not you'll be miserable.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: Yeah, girl, because it ain't even started.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Chit exactly right, right, Yeah, it's just.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: All the time you got to deal with what's happening
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: with your spouse.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so should she?
- 1:17:07Speaker 10: She says, At what point does she decide to move Uh?
- 1:17:11Speaker 10: Huh before it's too late. Yeah, yeah, today, break it off.
- 1:17:16Speaker 10: You're marry this little boy. He don't like responsibility, he
- 1:17:21Speaker 10: can't handle stress.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you're gonna.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Need a shoulder the crown. He's gonna be there crying
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: on yours.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: She says, he's highly dysfunctional. Higher, that's not good.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Why would you marry a highly dysfunctional man?
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: What is it with these red flags? We just collect? Nor?
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Yeah we ignore them. What is that about?
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: Stop collecting red flags? Stop putting them in the back
- 1:17:48Speaker 6: of your truck.
- 1:17:49Speaker 10: Yeah, well she sees it and like she sees the
- 1:17:53Speaker 10: red flags and like a lot of women, yeah, we choose.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: To ignore them.
- 1:17:57Speaker 10: Oh, he'll be better once we're married, and you know
- 1:18:00Speaker 10: he'll change I can change him.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: All of that.
- 1:18:04Speaker 10: Yeah, you know goes into goes into this. So I'm
- 1:18:07Speaker 10: with you, Steve. She needs to stop this right now,
- 1:18:10Speaker 10: call it off. Don't marry this guy.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: Oh man, you had it for life of doom. Yeah.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not gonna get better. No, No, pe will

- 1:18:26Speaker 1: All right, Well, thank you for writing in. Hopefully that helped.
- 1:18:30Speaker 10: Yeah, we'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show
- 1:18:34Speaker 10: coming up at twenty minutes after.
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:18:43Speaker 10: A Kentucky man who made headlines last year when he
- 1:18:46Speaker 10: won a massive powerball jackpot and then got arrested in
- 1:18:50Speaker 10: Florida for kicking a cop is back in the headlines,
- 1:18:54Speaker 10: this time not for winning money, but this time for
- 1:18:57Speaker 10: burglarizing a house.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Uh police in Lexington? Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, police.
- 1:19:07Speaker 10: Well, police in Lexington say, fifty one year old James Farthing,
- 1:19:11Speaker 10: a career criminal who won over one hundred and sixty
- 1:19:14Speaker 10: seven million dollars last year in the Power Bowl, hasn't
- 1:19:17Speaker 10: given up the criminal life.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Okay, he stayed the same and he won his money.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: Yeah, same money. Just magnify who you are. He just
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: made it criminal.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yep.
- 1:19:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:19:29Speaker 10: He broke into a home over the weekend. He stole
- 1:19:31Speaker 10: twelve thousand dollars in cash, Cops say. Surveillance video shows
- 1:19:36Speaker 10: James Farthing entering the house and then driving away in
- 1:19:39Speaker 10: a black Porsche. Officers later stopped him and reported finding
- 1:19:43Speaker 10: marijuana in his car.
- 1:19:45Speaker 12: What is going on?
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: You won one hundred and sixty seven million dollars in.
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: The power ball. How are you.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: You just cased that you need some you need twelve
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: thousand months? Yeah, one hundred and sixty seven the plus twist.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: He's just doing it for the thrill of it and
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: the toil.
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: Yeah, sounds like a klepto.
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Wow, break in the wrong house in a minute though.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're though you're driving a Porsche craziness right here?
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: All right, guys, coming up next. Yeah, we'll have another
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: round of would you rather? Right after this? You're listening

- 1:21:36Speaker 1: would you rather just stick to what you know?
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: No, I'm gonna stick to what you know. Because you

- 1:22:22Speaker 10: would you rather do this? Be an usher on the
- 1:22:26Speaker 10: Mother's Day service? So?
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: Would you rather be an usher on Easter Sunday or
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: Mother's Day.

- 1:22:50Speaker 7: I like that.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Steve, you.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: All right?

- 1:23:06Speaker 6: Now, I see, we only had a parking lot ministry
- 1:23:09Speaker 6: because so we could stop theft.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: Our problem was people were still in the cars.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: On the church parking lot on Holy Ground, the cars because.
- 1:23:20Speaker 6: They know they was in there, and they knew what
- 1:23:23Speaker 6: time service get out, and they had plenty of time.
- 1:23:25Speaker 6: I volunteered to be in the park parking lot ministry.

- 1:24:32Speaker 1: Power Mop gives you a deeper clean you can see
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: and feel.
- 1:24:36Speaker 8: Unlike stream mops sowret for power mop absorbs more dirt
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: and locks it away even in hard to reach places
- 1:24:43Speaker 8: like behind the toilet. The new micro scrubbers deliver thousands

- 1:24:57Speaker 1: All right here we are, guys, our last break of
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: the day, our last break of the week. This is
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: Holy Week, This is Easter Week. Thank you for listening.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: We appreciate you.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Holy Week.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, you didn't know that.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: No, I ain't been participating.
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: I tell you.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Yeah, Holy Week, Holy Week, keep
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: it Holy Yeah.
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: Were supposed to do something Monday.
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: This is leading It's the week leading up to.
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: Eastern and I ain't did nothing. I didn't know the
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: whole week.
- 1:25:34Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm behind, man, Holy week, I'm starting today.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: All right, you have a closing.
- 1:25:45Speaker 6: Here's my closing today. I was thinking about this. We
- 1:25:48Speaker 6: kind of talk about it off the air. Parenting is tough, man,
- 1:25:53Speaker 6: It really really is. If you're doing a good.
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: Job of it.
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: It's hard. It's hard to care for somebody. It's hard
- 1:26:03Speaker 6: to watch a person you love and care deeply for
- 1:26:07Speaker 6: make mistakes. It's hard to stay on top of everything
- 1:26:12Speaker 6: to help them through the mistakes, to try to help
- 1:26:15Speaker 6: them avoiding mistakes. It's really tough being a parent, man.
- 1:26:21Speaker 6: And then you got to give them enough range where
- 1:26:23Speaker 6: they have the freedom to learn. But then you got
- 1:26:26Speaker 6: to have enough restraints so they don't overdo it. And sometimes, man,
- 1:26:32Speaker 6: you wind up overdoing both. You wind up giving them
- 1:26:37Speaker 6: too much leeway, you wind up sometimes giving them too
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: much restraint. It's a hard job because parenting don't come
- 1:26:43Speaker 6: with a manual and the book you can read and
- 1:26:46Speaker 6: says that when they do this, you do that. It
- 1:26:49Speaker 6: don't work that way. Every child is different. All of
- 1:26:52Speaker 6: my kids are different. The way I had to handle
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: them was different. One of the rewards I found about
- 1:27:00Speaker 6: parenting now that my children are older, is I find
- 1:27:04Speaker 6: it really cool man that they still want to be
- 1:27:08Speaker 6: around you if your kids no, no, this is not
- 1:27:12Speaker 6: all the time. Don't get me wrong, man. Now they
- 1:27:15Speaker 6: don't want to do everything with you. They got their
- 1:27:17Speaker 6: circle of friends, they got the spots they want to
- 1:27:20Speaker 6: go down.
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: Younger.
- 1:27:21Speaker 6: You're not gonna get invited to everything. That's not what
- 1:27:23Speaker 6: I'm talking about. I'm talking about just occasionally they call
- 1:27:29Speaker 6: and they check on you without wanting nothing. Sometimes man,
- 1:27:33Speaker 6: they just want to come hang out with you. It's
- 1:27:37Speaker 6: a rewarding thing, man. But you in order to get
- 1:27:39Speaker 6: to that side of it, you got to put time
- 1:27:42Speaker 6: in with your kids.
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: Man. You got to invest in them.
- 1:27:48Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:27:48Speaker 6: I watched Tommy on this show as a father and
- 1:27:51Speaker 6: deal with his kids. How he invested in his kids,
- 1:27:54Speaker 6: and the payout is good to see his daughters love him,
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: his son love him. You know, they ask him questions,
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: they come to him for godless. I watched Shirley do
- 1:28:05Speaker 6: it with her daughter. I'm watching car and do it
- 1:28:07Speaker 6: with her daughter. It's amazing. They come in there and
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: say goodbye every day on this zoom while we do
- 1:28:13Speaker 6: our radio show. It's amazing, man. You want to have
- 1:28:17Speaker 6: kids that when they do grow up and they appreciative
- 1:28:23Speaker 6: of what you did for them. Now, they ain't always
- 1:28:29Speaker 6: and they don't always get it right, and oftentimes they
- 1:28:33Speaker 6: lack in the appreciation department, But that don't mean you
- 1:28:36Speaker 6: didn't do a good job. Sometimes being a parent is
- 1:28:39Speaker 6: a thankless job. It really is, especially to single mothers, man,
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: single mothers out there, it is such a thankless job
- 1:28:49Speaker 6: because they have no idea what you're doing.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: They have no idea.
- 1:28:54Speaker 6: Your children are clueless to the real sacrifices you done made,
- 1:28:58Speaker 6: and I know they are. That's why my foundation comes
- 1:29:02Speaker 6: to the aid of single mothers who are raising boys
- 1:29:05Speaker 6: by theyself, because I know it's a daunting task. So
- 1:29:08Speaker 6: we try to take them for five days and kind
- 1:29:10Speaker 6: of give them something else mental to think about and
- 1:29:12Speaker 6: reshape their mind and they thinking, and try to give
- 1:29:15Speaker 6: them back a better boy. But it's tough. So many
- 1:29:19Speaker 6: things about parenting is tough. But man, how rewarding is it?
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: Though?
- 1:29:25Speaker 11: Man?
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: When my sons go, hey, Dad, you fishing this weekend?
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: Can I come fish with you? Yeah? Man, how rewarding
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: is it?
- 1:29:33Speaker 11: Man?
- 1:29:33Speaker 6: When your son is getting dressed for an eventing he
- 1:29:35Speaker 6: calls you with a friend on the other phone. Wentton
- 1:29:38Speaker 6: did this to me last year getting ready for a galo.
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: He was coming to my gala with a friend of
- 1:29:45Speaker 6: his and he was trying to tie his tie. The
- 1:29:48Speaker 6: boy had on the wingtip tuxedo shirt, but he wanted
- 1:29:52Speaker 6: to wear a regular tie, and he asked wanting to
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: tie his tie for him, and Win couldn't get it
- 1:29:57Speaker 6: straighted to not kept being slanted.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: He called me.
- 1:30:01Speaker 6: He said, Dad, my buddy Sean got this tuxedo shirt
- 1:30:05Speaker 6: on its got a wing tip on it. I knew
- 1:30:08Speaker 6: what he was talking about, the little collar to stick
- 1:30:10Speaker 6: up like a penguin. I said, yeah, man, what's wrong?
- 1:30:13Speaker 6: He said, I keep tying the knot, man, but it's
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: coming out slanting and it don't look even. I said, son,
- 1:30:18Speaker 6: you gotta tie a double windsor.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: He said.
- 1:30:21Speaker 6: I said, instead of going around once bringing it through
- 1:30:23Speaker 6: like you do on a regular shirt to make a
- 1:30:25Speaker 6: thin knot, you got to make that vnight. So you
- 1:30:28Speaker 6: need a double windsor. He said, hold on, Dad, let
- 1:30:31Speaker 6: me try that. He said, Wow, that worked. He said,
- 1:30:35Speaker 6: thanks Dad, I appreciate that.
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:30:37Speaker 6: But he didn't hang up the phone, and I didn't
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: hang up, and I overheard him saying to his boy, man,
- 1:30:46Speaker 6: my dad know everything. He said, I ain't ever called
- 1:30:50Speaker 6: my father and he ain't have an answer for me.
- 1:30:53Speaker 6: He has never told me he didn't know. And that
- 1:30:57Speaker 6: dude said, yeah, man, that's cool.
- 1:30:59Speaker 2: I ain't had that.
- 1:31:01Speaker 6: And that teared me up, man, because my son man
- 1:31:05Speaker 6: realizes that I've been there for him like Tommy been
- 1:31:08Speaker 6: there for his son. And that's effective, man. So it's
- 1:31:12Speaker 6: a really cool thing. That's one of the rewards and parents,
- 1:31:15Speaker 6: or one of the rewards of parenting when you find
- 1:31:18Speaker 6: out that they get it. And sometimes they don't get
- 1:31:20Speaker 6: it till they've grown, just hanging there, but they will
- 1:31:23Speaker 6: get it. Those are my closesing remarks today. Y'all keep parenting,
- 1:31:29Speaker 6: Stop trying to be their friend, be their parent. It's
- 1:31:31Speaker 6: the most important thing you can do for them. Y'all
- 1:31:35Speaker 6: have a great day today.
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: Talk to God. He would absolutely love to hear from you.
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna go fish.
