- 0:00John chapter 21 After these things, Jesus manifested himself
- 0:04again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberius, and he
- 0:06manifested himself in this way. Simon Peter and Thomas called
- 0:10Didymus and Nathaniel of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee
- 0:13and two others of his disciples were together.
- 0:16Simon Peter said to them, I'm going fishing.
- 0:19They said to him, We will also come with you.
- 0:21They went out and got into the boat, and that night they caught
- 0:23nothing. But when the day was now
- 0:25breaking, Jesus stood on the beach.
- 0:27Yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
- 0:29So Jesus said to them, children, you do not have any fish, do
- 0:32you? They answered him, no.
- 0:35And he said to them, cast the net on the right hand side of
- 0:37the boat, and you'll find a catch.
- 0:39So they cast, and they were not able to haul it in because of
- 0:42the great number of fish. Therefore that disciple whom
- 0:45Jesus loves said to Peter, it's the Lord.
- 0:48So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his
- 0:50outer garment on, for he was stripped for work and threw
- 0:53himself into the sea. But the other disciples came in
- 0:56the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but about
- 0:59100 yards away, dragging the net full of fish.
- 1:02So when they got out on the land, they saw a charcoal fire
- 1:04already laid, and fish placed on it, and bread.
- 1:07Jesus said to them, Bring some of the fish which you've now
- 1:10caught. Simon Peter went up and drew the
- 1:12net to land full of large fish, 153 And although there were so
- 1:17many, the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, Come and
- 1:20have breakfast. None of the disciples ventured
- 1:22to question him. Who are you?
- 1:24Knowing that it was the Lord, Jesus came and took the bread
- 1:27and gave it to them, and the fish.
- 1:28Likewise. This is now the third time that
- 1:31Jesus was manifested to the disciples after he was raised
- 1:34from the dead. So when they had finished
- 1:36breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do
- 1:39you love me more than these? He said to him, Yes, Lord, you
- 1:42know that I love you. He said to him, Tend my lambs.
- 1:46He said to him again a second time, Simon, son of John, do you
- 1:49love me? He said to him, yes, Lord, you
- 1:52know that I love you. He said to him, shepherd my
- 1:55sheep. He said to him, the third time,
- 1:57Simon son of John, do you love me?
- 2:00Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, do
- 2:02you love me? And he said to him, Lord, you
- 2:04know all things. You know that I love you.
- 2:07Jesus said to him, tend to my sheep.
- 2:10Truly, truly. I say to you, when you were
- 2:11younger you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you
- 2:14wished, but when you grow old you will stretch out your hands
- 2:17and someone else will gird you and bring you where you do not
- 2:20wish to go. Now this he said, signifying by
- 2:23what kind of death he would glorify God.
- 2:24And when he had spoken this, he said to him, Follow me.
- 2:28Peter turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved
- 2:30following them, the one who also had leaned back on his bosom at
- 2:33the supper and said, Lord, who is the one who betrays you?
- 2:37So Peter seeing him, said to Jesus, Lord, and what about this
- 2:40man? Jesus said to him, if I want him
- 2:42to remain until I come, what is that to you?
- 2:45You follow me. Therefore this saying went out
- 2:47among the brethren that that disciple would not die.
- 2:50Yet Jesus did not say to him that He would not die.
- 2:53But only if I want him to remain until I come.
- 2:55What is that to you? This is the disciple who is
- 2:57testifying to these things and wrote these things.
- 3:00And we know that this testimony is true.
- 3:03And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which,
- 3:06if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world
- 3:08itself would not contain the books that would be written.
