Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Obamacare Equals Expensive NO CARE, Why Democrats Hate Fetterman & Antifa at TPUSA Week In Review
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome in his verdict with Ted Cruz.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Weekend Review, Ben Ferguson with you, and here are some
- 0:05Speaker 2: of the big stories that you may have missed that
- 0:07Speaker 2: we talked about this week. First up, Democrats, they're pretty
- 0:11Speaker 2: upset over the government shutdown, but what they're really upset
- 0:14Speaker 2: about is your subsidies. Billions and billions of dollars in
- 0:19Speaker 2: payouts going to insurance companies that are getting rich. Obamacare
- 0:24Speaker 2: is broken, known as the Affordable Care Act, it's anything but,
- 0:28Speaker 2: and we'll explain it to you. Also, why are democrats
- 0:32Speaker 2: so angry with John Fetterman for just doing the right
- 0:35Speaker 2: thing and saying it's time to open the government. We'll
- 0:38Speaker 2: explain that as well. And finally, more violence as Antifa
- 0:44Speaker 2: attacks at a turning point USA gathering. It's the weekend
- 0:48Speaker 2: Review and it starts right now.
- 0:51Speaker 3: And the President he was in a good mood, but
- 0:53Speaker 3: he was He was expressing his views emphatically as he
- 0:57Speaker 3: always does.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and he met by the way, I've ever done
- 1:00Speaker 2: a phone call, Like if you've never gotten to do this,
- 1:02Speaker 2: he does not ever hold back when you're talking about
- 1:05Speaker 2: the phone.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I not a single phone call.
- 1:07Speaker 2: You've had a lot more than I have, But when
- 1:09Speaker 2: I've had phone calls with him, whether it was in
- 1:11Speaker 2: sixteen to twenty or now forward, like, he does not
- 1:15Speaker 2: hold back at all. When you're on the cell phone,
- 1:17Speaker 2: on speakerphone as.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Well, he does not. So one of the things we
- 1:21Speaker 3: asked of him Friday night, we said, listen, in this
- 1:23Speaker 3: battle with the Democrats over Obamacare, Obamacare's failing. It's a
- 1:27Speaker 3: bad program. And if you go back, go back to
- 1:29Speaker 3: twenty thirteen. Twenty thirteen, when I did a filibuster against Obamacare,
- 1:34Speaker 3: I said, at the time, if you remember, Barack Obama
- 1:37Speaker 3: promised the American people, Obamacare would would cut the average
- 1:41Speaker 3: families premiums by twenty five hundred a year.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yep, that was a lie.
- 1:45Speaker 3: And in fact, they skyrocketed at the time five thousand
- 1:49Speaker 3: a year. They've skyrocketed a lot more than that. Even
- 1:52Speaker 3: the Washington Post has now admitted the editorial page the
- 1:55Speaker 3: Affordable Care Act, which is the misleading name of Obamacare,
- 1:59Speaker 3: did not make health care more affordable. It caused premiums
- 2:01Speaker 3: to skyrocket. So when we had Trump on the phone,
- 2:05Speaker 3: we said, look, it would really help if you made
- 2:08Speaker 3: the case that what Democrats are fighting for is these
- 2:11Speaker 3: massive multi billion dollar corporate welfare payoffs to the health
- 2:15Speaker 3: insurance companies instead of empowering consumers. And look, we want
- 2:21Speaker 3: a lower prices. And so we said, in particular, it
- 2:24Speaker 3: would really help if you would send a truth and
- 2:28Speaker 3: Trump said, great, come up with something. And so I
- 2:31Speaker 3: will tell you what the President sent. I had a
- 2:34Speaker 3: lot of input in this, and here's what he put out.
- 2:38Speaker 3: President Trump said, Democrats claim to be working for quote
- 2:41Speaker 3: the little guy and driving down your health insurance. But
- 2:46Speaker 3: the and the rest of this is in all caps,
- 2:48Speaker 3: Obamacare scam goes straight to their best friends in the
- 2:52Speaker 3: insurance industry. They are making a killing while health coverage
- 2:57Speaker 3: only gets worse. If Democrats get their way again, they're
- 3:03Speaker 3: in for another huge payday at the expense of the
- 3:07Speaker 3: American people. No deal in all caps. Republicans should give
- 3:12Speaker 3: money directly to your personal health savings accounts all in
- 3:18Speaker 3: caps that I expanded in our great, big, beautiful bill.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Thank you for your attention to this matter. Now, this
- 3:24Speaker 3: is really important because if you want a really strong,
- 3:28Speaker 3: principled conservative reform to health insurance, expanding health savings accounts
- 3:35Speaker 3: so that you give you the consumer, you the patient,
- 3:38Speaker 3: more control and instead of sending money to the insurance companies,
- 3:42Speaker 3: send it straight to people's health savings accounts, so you
- 3:45Speaker 3: can spend it on premiums, you can spend it on deductibles,
- 3:48Speaker 3: you can spend it on healthcare that expands competition and
- 3:51Speaker 3: empowers patients at at lowers prices. The President leaning in
- 3:55Speaker 3: with this tweet really helps in this political will have
- 4:00Speaker 3: over the next six weeks because the outcome he's advocating
- 4:05Speaker 3: for is something I've advocated for a long time, and
- 4:07Speaker 3: and that was a direct result of that dinner on
- 4:11Speaker 3: Friday night where we got him on the phone.
- 4:13Speaker 2: You know, there's one interesting thing that's coming out of
- 4:15Speaker 2: this first year of Trump being back in office. It
- 4:19Speaker 2: is really empowering the American people, whether it is the
- 4:23Speaker 2: accounts you's talked about, whether it's the Trump accounts that
- 4:26Speaker 2: are going to be coming in this next year that
- 4:28Speaker 2: you guys pass to give kids the opportunity to save
- 4:31Speaker 2: money and to be able to grow accounts and to
- 4:34Speaker 2: build wealth over their lifetime. Like, there is a lot
- 4:38Speaker 2: of personal growth and personal excitement that it's Trump is
- 4:43Speaker 2: get the government out of your life. You can do
- 4:45Speaker 2: better without it. We want to help you do that,
- 4:48Speaker 2: and then the Democrats like no, No, No, No, No, Mandani's
- 4:51Speaker 2: and others usually have.
- 4:52Speaker 1: No control of your life.
- 4:53Speaker 2: We want to run the whole damn show from from
- 4:56Speaker 2: from birth to death. Just trust the US government to
- 5:00Speaker 2: be your daddy or your mommy or both. And that's
- 5:03Speaker 2: exactly the difference between the Republicans and Democrats right now.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Look at it's a fundamental divide. As you noted, we
- 5:10Speaker 3: passed the Trump accounts. As you know well, I wrote
- 5:12Speaker 3: that legislation. This has been a major theme that I've
- 5:17Speaker 3: been fighting for since the first day I got elected
- 5:19Speaker 3: to the Senate. And whether you're talking about hell savings accounts,
- 5:23Speaker 3: whether you're talking about Trump accounts that are that are
- 5:26Speaker 3: essentially four A one K savings accounts for kids, or
- 5:29Speaker 3: whether you're talking about school choice and getting tax credits,
- 5:33Speaker 3: the unifying theme of all of those is individual choice,
- 5:37Speaker 3: empowering you the individual rather than government competition and giving
- 5:44Speaker 3: you control. That is the fundamental difference between left and right.
- 5:49Speaker 3: And President Trump has been a great partner in this,
- 5:51Speaker 3: and I'll tell you as a part of his tweet,
- 5:53Speaker 3: he sent out a chart, a chart which which which
- 5:56Speaker 3: I had sent him, but I want you to see
- 5:59Speaker 3: the chart. We're going to put it up on YouTube
- 6:02Speaker 3: for anyone that's watching on YouTube, but it goes through
- 6:06Speaker 3: the major healthcare companies their stock performance since Obamacare passed.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I'm going to walk through them. Etna Obamacare March twenty
- 6:18Speaker 3: ten is when it passed. Etna's stock stock price was
- 6:21Speaker 3: thirty dollars and fifty cents. Today it's two hundred and
- 6:24Speaker 3: twelve dollars, so it's increased five hundred and ninety five
- 6:27Speaker 3: percent since Obamacare passed. Senteen Its stock has increased six
- 6:33Speaker 3: hundred and four percent, Molina its stock has increased eight
- 6:37Speaker 3: hundred and fifty nine percent, Humana its stock has increased
- 6:41Speaker 3: four hundred and ninety percent, Anthem Elevance Health Its stock
- 6:46Speaker 3: has increased four hundred and fourteen percent, Signa Its stock
- 6:51Speaker 3: has increased eight eight hundred and twenty two percent, and
- 6:56Speaker 3: United Health Group. When Obamacare passed, United Health stock was
- 7:01Speaker 3: twenty five dollars and sixty six cents. Today November twenty
- 7:05Speaker 3: twenty five, it is three hundred and twenty seven dollars
- 7:08Speaker 3: and seventy four cents. That is at one thousand, one
- 7:11Speaker 3: hundred and seventy seven percent increase. That's what Obamacare, did
- 7:15Speaker 3: it massively increased the profits of the health insurance companies.
- 7:18Speaker 3: By the way, those health insurance companies overwhelmingly give to Democrats.
- 7:22Speaker 3: They give to Chuck Schumer, they give to Keem Jeffries
- 7:25Speaker 3: and the Democrats because they recognize when Democrats are in power,
- 7:29Speaker 3: their profits go through the roof and the American people's
- 7:32Speaker 3: premium skyrocket. What are the Democrats say they wanted to
- 7:36Speaker 3: do in this shutdown give fifty billion dollars to those
- 7:39Speaker 3: same health insurance companies who profits have skyrocket. And it's
- 7:42Speaker 3: why what the presidents said is so important. No, we're
- 7:45Speaker 3: not going to give money to health insurance companies. Instead,
- 7:48Speaker 3: we're going to expand health savings accounts so you, the
- 7:51Speaker 3: individual has control over your own healthcare.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Senator, I also want to get a little preview of
- 7:56Speaker 2: something that you're working on.
- 7:58Speaker 1: We're going to do a more.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Expansive show on this, but it's important that people know
- 8:02Speaker 2: that even while the government has been shut down, you
- 8:05Speaker 2: have been working very hard on other things. One of
- 8:08Speaker 2: those things is you have now introduced the quote Deporting
- 8:11Speaker 2: Fraudster's Act of twenty twenty five, and it deals with
- 8:15Speaker 2: snap and public benefits abuses that is costing the American
- 8:20Speaker 2: people millions and millions of dollars. Give us a little
- 8:24Speaker 2: preview of this so people know what's been going on.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Look, this is a very simple bill. It is an
- 8:29Speaker 3: astonishing fact that right now welfare fraud, fraudulently taking government
- 8:33Speaker 3: assistance benefits is not a deportable offense under the immigration laws.
- 8:39Speaker 3: This law will change that and make it a deportable offense.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Let me give you some basic statistics. Forty eight percent
- 8:46Speaker 3: of households headed by illegal immigrants received food related welfare
- 8:51Speaker 3: benefits forty eight percent nearly half specifically SNAP. A CIS
- 8:55Speaker 3: analysis found that thirty one percent of illegal alien household
- 9:00Speaker 3: with children draw SNAP benefits. One in five households getting
- 9:06Speaker 3: WICIC Women's Infants and Children or SNAP is headed by
- 9:10Speaker 3: a non citizen, and ninety six percent of the children
- 9:14Speaker 3: in those households are US but born, showing how illegal
- 9:17Speaker 3: aliens exploit child based eligibility to access benefits indirectly. The
- 9:22Speaker 3: US Department of Agriculture reports one point seven six million
- 9:28Speaker 3: non citizens on SNAP in twenty twenty three. That is
- 9:34Speaker 3: roughly three hundred and twelve million dollars in taxpayer funds.
- 9:38Speaker 3: In twenty twelve, or not twenty twelve, rather twenty twenty two,
- 9:41Speaker 3: it was one point five million recipients that cost two
- 9:45Speaker 3: hundred and twenty two million. Fraud is rampant. For example,
- 9:49Speaker 3: in twenty twenty four, one hundred and twenty six point
- 9:53Speaker 3: eight million dollars was stolen from EBT cards. In Texas,
- 9:58Speaker 3: three point seven million people, about a eleven percent of
- 10:00Speaker 3: the state relies on SNAP. Every stolen or unlawfully claimed
- 10:05Speaker 3: dollar robs a citizen family in genuine need. And according
- 10:10Speaker 3: to the CBO, about two hundred thousand illegal aliens from
- 10:14Speaker 3: the surge of alien asylum seekers from twenty twenty three
- 10:17Speaker 3: to twenty twenty four already received SNAP, growing to eight
- 10:22Speaker 3: hundred thousand by twenty thirty four, assuming no deportations. A
- 10:27Speaker 3: ten year cost. You said this cost millions. Yeah, the
- 10:31Speaker 3: ten year cost is fifteen billion dollars. And so this
- 10:35Speaker 3: bill is to target that and say, if you're here illegally,
- 10:38Speaker 3: you do not have any entitlement to public welfare, and
- 10:41Speaker 3: if you access fraudulently access public welfare, that is yet
- 10:45Speaker 3: another ground to deport you.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Now, Chuck Schummer's a co sponsor this bill, right.
- 10:50Speaker 3: No, and I feel confident that Schumer is not just
- 10:55Speaker 3: to no, he's a hello, because today's Democrat Party, it
- 10:59Speaker 3: is all for health insurance corporations, it is all for
- 11:02Speaker 3: illegal immigrants, it is all for violent criminals, it is
- 11:06Speaker 3: all for men and women's sports. It's all for everyone
- 11:10Speaker 3: except the average American citizen trying to work hard and
- 11:13Speaker 3: provide for his or her family. And that's exactly backwards.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
- 11:19Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
- 11:22Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two. To say, again,
- 11:27Speaker 2: with a civil war, let's be clear. And that's part
- 11:29Speaker 2: of what I got to ask you about is there
- 11:32Speaker 2: are Democrats now that are basically like off with his
- 11:35Speaker 2: head and leadership. They want him gone. They're publicly saying
- 11:38Speaker 2: now you're saying, this is the end of him.
- 11:39Speaker 1: He has done.
- 11:40Speaker 2: MSNBC said a multiple times. CNN commentators are the same thing,
- 11:44Speaker 2: like he's done.
- 11:44Speaker 1: They got to get rid of him. His career is over.
- 11:47Speaker 2: This goes back to the being held hostage by the Marxists,
- 11:50Speaker 2: the socialist and the communists of the Democratic Party. Now
- 11:53Speaker 2: they didn't police him. Now they're running the party and
- 11:55Speaker 2: they're anarchists. And Chuck Schumer shut down the government for
- 11:59Speaker 2: the longest period in history of this country, and that
- 12:03Speaker 2: wasn't good enough for them.
- 12:05Speaker 3: And he still voted no on reopening it. So he
- 12:07Speaker 3: shut it down for the longust in history. He voted
- 12:09Speaker 3: no consistently, and yet they're still off with his head.
- 12:13Speaker 3: It really is the crazies are driving the Democrat Party.
- 12:17Speaker 3: And look, if you don't believe me, maybe you will
- 12:21Speaker 3: believe John Fetterman. I want you to listen to this exchange.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Senator John Fetterman, Democrat from Pennsylvania, was on the View
- 12:29Speaker 3: and Sonny, you know, one of the left wing hosts
- 12:33Speaker 3: there comes after him and comes after him hard. Listen
- 12:36Speaker 3: to her unhinged question and then listen to Fetterman's response.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Well.
- 12:41Speaker 5: Senator Bernie Sanders said the vote was a horrific mistake.
- 12:45Speaker 5: Governor Gavin Newsom called it pathetic and a surrender. Pole
- 12:49Speaker 5: after poll found more Americans on both sides of the
- 12:52Speaker 5: aisle blaming Republicans. Even Marjorie Taylor Green blamed the GOP.
- 12:57Speaker 5: As you mentioned, Democrats had big wins last week, so
- 13:00Speaker 5: had momentum. Why give in now? Why bring a butter
- 13:04Speaker 5: knife to a gunfight. Are you willing to gamble that
- 13:07Speaker 5: the GOLC will negotiate on healthcare is good faith once
- 13:11Speaker 5: the government reopens, because if that gamble is wrong, half
- 13:15Speaker 5: a million Pennsylvanians that you represent, their healthcare cost will
- 13:19Speaker 5: skyrocket if you are wrong.
- 13:22Speaker 1: And I believe you are wrong.
- 13:25Speaker 6: Well, first of all, MTG is quite literally the last
- 13:29Speaker 6: person in America that I'm going to take advice or
- 13:32Speaker 6: to get their kinds of.
- 13:33Speaker 7: My leadership and values from.
- 13:35Speaker 6: And now if Democrats are celebrating crazy pants like that,
- 13:38Speaker 6: then that's on them.
- 13:40Speaker 7: And now I don't need and I don't need a lecture.
- 13:42Speaker 6: I don't need a lecture from from whether it's Bernie
- 13:45Speaker 6: or the governor in California, because they are representing very
- 13:49Speaker 6: deep blue blue kinds of populations and a lot of
- 13:53Speaker 6: those things, a lot of those things were part of
- 13:56Speaker 6: the extreme. And I'll remember what really needs to win,
- 14:00Speaker 6: to win the big win is involving my state and
- 14:04Speaker 6: other states and those things. And why have we arrived
- 14:08Speaker 6: here after the election a year ago. We want to forget,
- 14:11Speaker 6: we got to forget some of the things that cost
- 14:13Speaker 6: us that election are now for me it's like, That's
- 14:17Speaker 6: why I'm trying to remind people that kinds of the
- 14:21Speaker 6: extreme newism, we can't return to those kind of things
- 14:23Speaker 6: and realize we need to find a way forward. And
- 14:26Speaker 6: I would like to rather than cite MTG, I'm going
- 14:28Speaker 6: to cite one of the new governor elects saying that
- 14:31Speaker 6: my election is not a green light to continue this shutdown,
- 14:36Speaker 6: because I promise you this isn't a political game. It
- 14:40Speaker 6: is viewed by that by many of us, but the
- 14:42Speaker 6: reality is forty two million Americans now not sure where
- 14:45Speaker 6: their next meal is going to come from, and because
- 14:48Speaker 6: we vote like that, vote like that or people that
- 14:51Speaker 6: haven't been paid for five.
- 14:52Speaker 7: Weeks now, and that kinds of chaos.
- 14:54Speaker 6: Those workers borrow more than half a billion dollars, you know,
- 14:58Speaker 6: from their credit union just.
- 14:59Speaker 2: To be there, you with him talking about paying their bills,
- 15:03Speaker 2: and I love that from Fetterman.
- 15:05Speaker 1: There.
- 15:06Speaker 2: They also were very quiet because I didn't think I
- 15:09Speaker 2: don't think they realized he was going to come back
- 15:11Speaker 2: with facts that way and describe it. I jokingly said
- 15:15Speaker 2: to you before the show started, when's John Fetterman going
- 15:17Speaker 2: to join the Republican Party? Because he's been speaking an
- 15:20Speaker 2: awful lot of truth about the reality this shutdown.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Well, look, I like John Fetterman, and I will tell
- 15:27Speaker 3: you Republicans actually treated much more nicely than the Democrats do.
- 15:30Speaker 3: The Democrats are mean to him, they're vicious to him.
- 15:33Speaker 3: They that they really have a deep antipathy to him.
- 15:38Speaker 3: And the amazing thing he votes the overwhelming majority of
- 15:43Speaker 3: the time with the Democrats. You know, he's on the
- 15:45Speaker 3: Commerce Committee with me. On virtually every vote he votes
- 15:49Speaker 3: party line with the Democrats. On most votes on the floor,
- 15:52Speaker 3: he votes party line with the Democrats. He has a
- 15:54Speaker 3: few defections. So he did vote to open the government,
- 15:58Speaker 3: and that's viewed is this great heresy because he didn't
- 16:02Speaker 3: want to have a force a government shut down and
- 16:04Speaker 3: hurt millions of Americans and continue the longest government shut
- 16:08Speaker 3: down in history. And the main area that he's been
- 16:11Speaker 3: willing to dissent from virtually every other congressional Democrat is
- 16:16Speaker 3: in support of Israel. And we've talked about before that
- 16:19Speaker 3: there is a real and cognizable pro Hamas caucus in
- 16:24Speaker 3: the Democrat Party. It rose up about ten years ago.
- 16:28Speaker 3: The Democrats did nothing. They look the other way, and
- 16:30Speaker 3: it's now taken over their party, and Fetterman is a
- 16:34Speaker 3: massive outlier because he is genuinely pro Israel. He is
- 16:38Speaker 3: vocally pro Israel, and the radicals in the Democrat Party
- 16:42Speaker 3: hate him for that. And again, if you don't believe me,
- 16:47Speaker 3: listen to what John Fetterman said on exactly this topic.
- 16:50Speaker 4: You are not Jewish at least as far as I know.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Feel free to come feel fear to come out here
- 16:56Speaker 4: to me right now. But you have been one of
- 16:58Speaker 4: the most outspoken in it's beyond Washington, it's beyond politicians.
- 17:03Speaker 4: You have been one of the most outspoken people in
- 17:05Speaker 4: American life on the issue of anti Semitism. Why is
- 17:10Speaker 4: this issue so important to you?
- 17:14Speaker 8: Ironically I did that twenty three and me I'm ninety
- 17:17Speaker 8: seven percent German and three percent Neanderthal, and it's like,
- 17:22Speaker 8: maybe it's ironic that that a big German guy from
- 17:26Speaker 8: Pennsylvania has been very absolutely devoted to Israel and to
- 17:31Speaker 8: experience the kind of anti Semitism and in my life,
- 17:34Speaker 8: I mean, you know what, you know, the Tree of Life,
- 17:36Speaker 8: I mean, that's that's where you're from.
- 17:37Speaker 7: Too.
- 17:38Speaker 8: Absolutely appalling, and my heart breaks for what the Jewish
- 17:42Speaker 8: community's suffered, especially after ten to seven I've had the
- 17:47Speaker 8: honor of meeting, you know, members of the hostages, former
- 17:51Speaker 8: people that were kept underground for five hundred days. Five
- 17:54Speaker 8: hundred days. I mean, those are heroes. I've met with
- 17:57Speaker 8: widows their husbands were lost in the Gaza War, and
- 18:01Speaker 8: they have eight children, raising eight children by their own.
- 18:05Speaker 8: That's a hero for all of it. So for me,
- 18:09Speaker 8: it's heartbreaking, and that's been what's so difficult for me
- 18:13Speaker 8: is like being devotion to Israel becoming increasingly incompatible with
- 18:17Speaker 8: being a proud Democrat now too, and that's put me
- 18:20Speaker 8: at odds. And the things that put me at odds
- 18:24Speaker 8: have all converged at the same time, you know, the
- 18:26Speaker 8: Gaza War, the peace deal, and then we moved right
- 18:29Speaker 8: into a shutdown, you know, like now Democrats might not
- 18:32Speaker 8: be allowed to hold these views.
- 18:35Speaker 7: And I'm not changing my party, and.
- 18:37Speaker 8: You know, run the numbers, run the numbers, you know,
- 18:40Speaker 8: you would find that I'm a Democrat.
- 18:44Speaker 1: You know, he is a Democrat.
- 18:45Speaker 2: But you've walked past his Senate office countless times. I've
- 18:50Speaker 2: walked past it, probably dozens of times when I'm up
- 18:53Speaker 2: in DC, and he had all the hostage pictures up
- 18:56Speaker 2: in his front office.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Which I thought was incredible.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Look, he has been genuinely courageous and sincerely courageous on Israel,
- 19:06Speaker 3: and it's earned the absolute ire, hatred, animosity venom of
- 19:14Speaker 3: the radical left in the Democrat Party. I mean, you
- 19:16Speaker 3: heard what he just said there, that that being pro
- 19:19Speaker 3: Israel is becoming incompatible with being a proud Democrat. I mean,
- 19:25Speaker 3: that's a that's a tragic statement. I wish that statement
- 19:29Speaker 3: were not true, but it is the biggest reason why
- 19:33Speaker 3: their radicals hate him and much of you know, when
- 19:38Speaker 3: he was first elected and he came into office, he
- 19:41Speaker 3: had had a stroke during the campaign and the stroke
- 19:44Speaker 3: was very debilitating. When when John showed up, the stroke
- 19:48Speaker 3: really limited Like when I first met him, what the
- 19:52Speaker 3: stroke did is it limited his ability to process auditory input.
- 19:57Speaker 3: So you would talk to him and his brain was
- 20:01Speaker 3: not able to process the words he was hearing, and
- 20:05Speaker 3: so he would carry with him an iPad that had
- 20:08Speaker 3: a translator because it just this is one of the
- 20:10Speaker 3: consequences that can be from a stroke, is your ability
- 20:13Speaker 3: to process words that you hear. Your brain just can't
- 20:17Speaker 3: put them together. So you would talk and he would
- 20:19Speaker 3: read it. But when he first got there, you would
- 20:22Speaker 3: talk to him, and he would literally he was not
- 20:24Speaker 3: able to understand what you were saying. And I mean
- 20:26Speaker 3: it hurt your heart. I mean, this is a is
- 20:28Speaker 3: a very bright man. The man's a Harvard graduate, but
- 20:31Speaker 3: he had a medical issue that he had real consequences.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Early on, the Democrats all circled around him and said,
- 20:40Speaker 3: you know, he's perfectly capable. There are no issues whatsoever.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Because they assumed he would be a left wing Democrat,
- 20:46Speaker 3: that's what they expected of him. That was not a
- 20:48Speaker 3: crazy expectation going in. And then when he started standing up,
- 20:54Speaker 3: particularly on Israel, standing up and defying the Prohamas caucus,
- 20:59Speaker 3: you started seeing the Democrats leaking and planning stories and
- 21:03Speaker 3: really attacking his mental capability. And the irony is, look
- 21:07Speaker 3: you heard in those exchanges. He's now able to have
- 21:10Speaker 3: a conversation. He still is a little halting in his communication.
- 21:15Speaker 3: I think that's some of the aftermath of the stroke.
- 21:17Speaker 3: But the difference is night and day. You can now
- 21:19Speaker 3: have a conversation and he can hear you in a
- 21:22Speaker 3: way that when he showed up in the Senate he
- 21:24Speaker 3: was not able to. And yet Democrats are running to
- 21:28Speaker 3: reporters to plant negative stories attacking him. Many of his
- 21:34Speaker 3: colleagues want to drive him out of the party, and
- 21:37Speaker 3: at least on the Republican side, I like John and
- 21:41Speaker 3: I think consistently all the Republicans are just trying to
- 21:43Speaker 3: be nice to him. By the way, they did the
- 21:45Speaker 3: same thing to Joe Manchin. They did the same thing
- 21:47Speaker 3: to Kirsten Cinemon. They succeeded in driving both of them
- 21:50Speaker 3: out of the party because they want no dissent. You
- 21:53Speaker 3: must obey and follow orders or they'll do everything they
- 21:58Speaker 3: can to drive you out. To be honest, both Cinema
- 22:01Speaker 3: and mentioned I think Republicans were much nicer to than
- 22:04Speaker 3: Democrats were, and the consequence was they were both driven
- 22:08Speaker 3: out of the party.
- 22:09Speaker 1: As before.
- 22:10Speaker 2: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
- 22:12Speaker 2: on this topic, you can go back and down the
- 22:14Speaker 2: podcasts from early this week to hear the entire thing.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I want to get back to the big story number
- 22:20Speaker 2: three of the week you may have missed, all right,
- 22:23Speaker 2: I want to end the show with talking about something
- 22:25Speaker 2: else that is really made me sad this week. It's
- 22:28Speaker 2: also i think, really telling you where we are as
- 22:32Speaker 2: a country with the radical left. We have seen violent
- 22:35Speaker 2: protesters at a Turning Point US USA event at UC Berkeley.
- 22:42Speaker 2: I wish it wasn't what we witnessed, but it was
- 22:45Speaker 2: radical leftists. I want to know who's funding them, Senator,
- 22:49Speaker 2: I want to know who's behind this. But it is
- 22:52Speaker 2: shocking to see this level of rhetoric and attacks on
- 22:58Speaker 2: conservatives who are just going to have a conversation. And
- 23:01Speaker 2: it's very eeriely close to what we witnessed with the
- 23:04Speaker 2: assassination of Charlie Kirk.
- 23:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Look, the pattern of left wing violence continues, and it
- 23:09Speaker 3: continues across the country, and it continues with with the
- 23:13Speaker 3: acquiescence and support of of many on the far left.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Far too many on the far left.
- 23:19Speaker 7: Uh.
- 23:19Speaker 3: This week, Turning Point USA had a rally at UC Berkeley. Now,
- 23:25Speaker 3: the speakers at the rally were doctor Frank Turik, who's
- 23:29Speaker 3: a Christian pastor, and Rob Schneider, who's a comedian and actor.
- 23:34Speaker 3: So it's it's not like either of these speakers were
- 23:36Speaker 3: particularly controversial in any normal or sane place. But but
- 23:44Speaker 3: UC Berkeley is not necessarily a normal or sane place,
- 23:48Speaker 3: and and Antifa targeted them, targeted the people coming into
- 23:52Speaker 3: the rally coming in to see to to see listen
- 23:56Speaker 3: to the speakers and they were violent. Let me read
- 24:01Speaker 3: how Fox covered it. A bloody fight broke out near
- 24:04Speaker 3: the University of California, Berkeley on Monday afternoon ahead of
- 24:07Speaker 3: a Turning Point USA event on campus. The event, which
- 24:10Speaker 3: featured doctor Frank Turk and Rob Schneider, marked the end
- 24:13Speaker 3: of the This Is Turning Point tour. It took place
- 24:16Speaker 3: just two months after Turning Point USA's founder Charlie Kirk
- 24:20Speaker 3: was assassinated at a campus event in Utah on September tenth.
- 24:24Speaker 3: The confrontation erupted around four thirty pm Pacific Standard time.
- 24:28Speaker 3: During the brawl, two men were seen fighting each other,
- 24:32Speaker 3: one of whom had blood gushing from his face and
- 24:36Speaker 3: you can watch the video. Video taken by Fox News
- 24:39Speaker 3: Digital also shows a crowd of agitators gathered around the fight.
- 24:46Speaker 3: These were left wing antifa activists. They were chanting obscene
- 24:56Speaker 3: chants that they were celebrating that Charlie Kirk had been
- 25:00Speaker 3: They were chanting how happy they are about that. Most
- 25:04Speaker 3: of them had masks and it. You can watch the
- 25:11Speaker 3: video online of one of the people coming to the
- 25:14Speaker 3: Turning Point event who they beat the hell out of
- 25:18Speaker 3: him and his face is bleeding profusely, and they engaged
- 25:22Speaker 3: in violence. And I'll tell you what is frustrating is
- 25:27Speaker 3: where was the administration of Berkeley? Where was the police?
- 25:31Speaker 3: Why are they allowing violent protesters? And look, these are
- 25:35Speaker 3: the same administrators. This is the same faculty that allowed
- 25:38Speaker 3: their campuses to be taken over for weeks and months
- 25:41Speaker 3: on end by radical anti Semitic protesters, by antifa communists
- 25:47Speaker 3: who again engage in threats of violence. And in both instances,
- 25:51Speaker 3: these are not organic. They're being paid for. There is
- 25:55Speaker 3: I've been saying for a long time, follow the money.
- 25:58Speaker 3: I've been urging the Department of Justice in the FBI
- 26:01Speaker 3: to follow the money. I've introduced legislation, the Stop Funders
- 26:04Speaker 3: Act to add rioting as a predicate act to RICO
- 26:07Speaker 3: to let us go after the money that is behind
- 26:11Speaker 3: these violent anarchists. And I'll tell you what's being reported now.
- 26:14Speaker 3: This is another story. Fox News covered UC Berkeley's bloody
- 26:18Speaker 3: protest of Turning Point USA, allegedly funded by far left nonprofit.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Attorney General Pambondi opens anti terrorism investigation into campus clash
- 26:29Speaker 3: outside Turning Point USA event. And here's what Fox reports.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Last month, a band of demonstrators marched across West Temple
- 26:37Speaker 3: Street in downtown Los Angeles in the national anti Trump
- 26:42Speaker 3: No King's protest, carrying a banner that read, defeat Trump's
- 26:46Speaker 3: fascist takeover, stop ice raids and deportations by any means necessary,
- 26:53Speaker 3: and in one corner, four bold letters stood out B
- 26:59Speaker 3: A N, an acronym for by any means necessary. The
- 27:05Speaker 3: rest of the banner spelled out clues to the group's
- 27:07Speaker 3: full name and smaller print quote Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action,
- 27:12Speaker 3: integration and immigration rights and fight for equality by any
- 27:16Speaker 3: means necessary. That organization one of two hundred and sixty
- 27:22Speaker 3: six groups with combined annual revenues of two point nine
- 27:28Speaker 3: billion dollars two point nine billion dollars identified by Fox
- 27:32Speaker 3: News Digital leading the No King's protests, would soon reappear
- 27:38Speaker 3: at this week's flashpoint on the campus of University of California, Berkeley.
- 27:43Speaker 3: And so this group. A flyer circulated before the demonstration
- 27:47Speaker 3: urged participants to quote end fascist turning points, youth oriented
- 27:52Speaker 3: campaign of incitement to violence. Now ironically they're accusing turning
- 27:56Speaker 3: point of incitement to violence, and they show up and
- 27:59Speaker 3: violently assault the people who are going to turning point.
- 28:02Speaker 3: This is it's it's classic Marxist technique of projecting and
- 28:06Speaker 3: accusing your opponents of doing what you're doing. And and
- 28:10Speaker 3: and this flier announced a rally outside of Zellerbach Hall
- 28:14Speaker 3: an hour before the door's open for the event. Well,
- 28:18Speaker 3: the good news, UH is and and and a QR
- 28:22Speaker 3: page printed on the flyer leads to a page on
- 28:26Speaker 3: b A m N dot com, which is a domain
- 28:29Speaker 3: of this group that was helping fund the No Kings rallies.
- 28:32Speaker 3: And so there is an entire ecosystem with money flowing
- 28:37Speaker 3: to promote violence. And thankfully, the Department of Justice under
- 28:41Speaker 3: Pambondi has announced that they're doing an anti terrorism investigation
- 28:47Speaker 3: to go after to follow the money. And I'll tell
- 28:50Speaker 3: you also, UH, the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights
- 28:54Speaker 3: UH is questioning is question why Berkeley allowed this to happen.
- 29:04Speaker 3: In fact, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Arment Dylan
- 29:08Speaker 3: formally demanded that you see Berkeley preserve all records regarding
- 29:13Speaker 3: their response to the mob violence UH at at Berkeley's
- 29:18Speaker 3: Turning Point USA event, all records good. And that's because
- 29:23Speaker 3: I suspect they're going to find they're going to find emails,
- 29:27Speaker 3: They're going to find administrators saying communicating back and forth,
- 29:31Speaker 3: just like we did with the anti Semitic protesters, where
- 29:35Speaker 3: it is clear that that that that the administrators do
- 29:38Speaker 3: not want to protect the people at Turning Point USA,
- 29:41Speaker 3: do not want the police to stop violence if it's
- 29:43Speaker 3: directed against conservatives, and and there's a real moral decay
- 29:47Speaker 3: at our universities. And I'm glad we have an Apartment
- 29:50Speaker 3: of Justice that's willing to enforce the law and go
- 29:54Speaker 3: after number one, the money behind the left wing violence,
- 29:58Speaker 3: but number two, the admitt ministrators who are facilitating And
- 30:01Speaker 3: I got to say, it is not dissimilar to what's
- 30:05Speaker 3: happening in Nigeria we talked about a minute ago, where
- 30:07Speaker 3: you have government officials who look the other way and
- 30:11Speaker 3: refuse to enforce the law to protect Christians. In Berkeley's case,
- 30:15Speaker 3: I suspect the evidence will indicate the school administrators look
- 30:18Speaker 3: the other way and refuse to protect the students at
- 30:22Speaker 3: Turning Point USA because they're rooting for the Antifa rioters
- 30:28Speaker 3: who are physically assaulting those students.
