- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time. I
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things in it? Not me true good Steve
- 0:24Speaker 1: listening to the other for st I don't join join me.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You gotta use that turn you you gotta turn to
- 1:41Speaker 1: turn out turn you haven't got to turn them out?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Then turn the water the water go. Come come on
- 1:58Speaker 1: your thad uh huh. I shall well a good marning everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 1: You'all listening to the voice, come on dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey, I got a radio show.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Real grateful for that. You know it's funny, man. I
- 2:14Speaker 1: remember when I first started out in radio, A lot
- 2:17Speaker 1: of my peers laughed at me. Some of it was
- 2:20Speaker 1: being mean spirited, some of it was just you know,
- 2:23Speaker 1: marking me. I'm used to stuff like that. But I
- 2:26Speaker 1: had as a special guest on my show, Joel Oldstein,
- 2:30Speaker 1: and you know something, man, he says something that was
- 2:33Speaker 1: I can't remember the scripture. I don't know exactly how
- 2:36Speaker 1: I where. Like we were having a long conversation, but
- 2:38Speaker 1: the gist of it was, don't be upset with where
- 2:42Speaker 1: you are now, and don't be upset with the small
- 2:44Speaker 1: things in your life. Be grateful for the small things
- 2:47Speaker 1: and the small position that you have right now, because
- 2:50Speaker 1: you don't know where that's going. You don't know what
- 2:52Speaker 1: that's gonna be one day. You don't know what that's
- 2:54Speaker 1: gonna lead to. And that was very warming to hear
- 2:58Speaker 1: him say that. But it also reminded me of when
- 3:01Speaker 1: I started in radio, how small it was. It reminded
- 3:04Speaker 1: me of when I started in stand up making twenty
- 3:07Speaker 1: five dollars a show. It reminds me of not having
- 3:11Speaker 1: a home at a period in my life and what
- 3:15Speaker 1: God has allowed me to live in now. So don't
- 3:18Speaker 1: be distraught over your position now, and don't be ungrateful
- 3:24Speaker 1: or unappreciative for the things you have now because you
- 3:26Speaker 1: don't know what that's going to grow into. And that's
- 3:29Speaker 1: really the gist of that I got from what he
- 3:31Speaker 1: was saying. I just wanted to share that with you,
- 3:33Speaker 1: that where you are now it's so temporary because now,
- 3:37Speaker 1: like I've said before, now is a fleeting moment. Right
- 3:40Speaker 1: after you finished saying now, that moment that you claimed
- 3:44Speaker 1: as now, that's gone. So the where you are now
- 3:48Speaker 1: is a very fleeting process. Now you can change where
- 3:51Speaker 1: you are now, and you can change how you feel
- 3:54Speaker 1: about where you're at now, and you can change about
- 3:57Speaker 1: where you're going by simply changing your mind. It is
- 4:02Speaker 1: no difference. I'm telling you, folks, the thing that I've
- 4:06Speaker 1: learned about successful people is not so much what they do.
- 4:10Speaker 1: It's not what they have. The biggest thing I've learned
- 4:14Speaker 1: about successful people is how they think. That's the thing
- 4:19Speaker 1: that's different. It's how they think. And I'm telling you
- 4:23Speaker 1: that you can change the way you think on any
- 4:26Speaker 1: subject and start becoming successful towards that. Starting now, you
- 4:32Speaker 1: have to understand that. Man, the biggest difference I've noticed
- 4:36Speaker 1: between successful people and non successful people is how they think.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I was reading what is God said that he was
- 4:46Speaker 1: taught all wrong about money. He said that his father
- 4:49Speaker 1: was very negative about money. He all throughout his life
- 4:53Speaker 1: he heard his father to say, you know, people who
- 4:55Speaker 1: got money have walked on somebody to get it, or
- 4:58Speaker 1: cheated somebody to get it. People who have money, money
- 5:02Speaker 1: is the root of all evil. Money is money is
- 5:05Speaker 1: this And people who got money, you know, don't deserve it.
- 5:08Speaker 1: They've done something wrong to get it. YadA, y'all. So,
- 5:11Speaker 1: he said, he grew up the whole time thinking that
- 5:14Speaker 1: having money when something was wrong with that, he discovered
- 5:17Speaker 1: that it wasn't. Look. You can choose to be successful
- 5:20Speaker 1: in anywhere you want to. I've chosen several ways to
- 5:23Speaker 1: be successful. I want to be a very, very successful father.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I think that's one of the things that's paramount in
- 5:29Speaker 1: my life that I really am working hard right now
- 5:33Speaker 1: to become a successful father. Not a successful father in
- 5:38Speaker 1: terms of money, but a successful father in terms of
- 5:42Speaker 1: offering the amount of love and guidance and leadership and
- 5:46Speaker 1: the example that my children need to look at. That's
- 5:50Speaker 1: what I'm really really working hard at now. I want
- 5:52Speaker 1: to be successful as a father, but also I want
- 5:55Speaker 1: to be successful as a husband. You know. I want
- 5:58Speaker 1: Marjorie to always notice she can count on me, to
- 6:01Speaker 1: not have to wonder about me a look for me.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You know. I want her to feel secure in the
- 6:07Speaker 1: fact that I really have gotten it right, that I
- 6:11Speaker 1: really am focused on being a good husband to her
- 6:14Speaker 1: because it means so much to me, you know. So
- 6:17Speaker 1: I'm working hard on a lot of levels. I'm working hard.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm trying very strong to be a successful motivator of people.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I want to be a sharer of information to people
- 6:28Speaker 1: that will uplift others and give others the same things
- 6:31Speaker 1: that I've learned through the trials and tribulations of my life.
- 6:35Speaker 1: But at the same time share that information and use
- 6:39Speaker 1: the power this microphone to uplift people, you know, not
- 6:42Speaker 1: to destroy. My show is not about guess what's so
- 6:45Speaker 1: and so said? Guess what's so and so did. I
- 6:47Speaker 1: don't like mean spirited things about people, you know. I
- 6:50Speaker 1: joke with people who calling this that's another thing. But
- 6:53Speaker 1: I don't like destroying people with the power to microphone.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So I'm working very hard on being successful in a
- 6:58Speaker 1: lot of areas of my life now. Also I do
- 7:00Speaker 1: care about being financially successful too, because my father. One
- 7:05Speaker 1: of the gifts he gave me was very simple gift.
- 7:07Speaker 1: He told me a long time ago. He says, son,
- 7:10Speaker 1: the best thing you can do for poor people is
- 7:13Speaker 1: not be one of them. And that stuck with me.
- 7:16Speaker 1: And this was a hard working man who was a
- 7:18Speaker 1: coal miner who worked construction his entire life. My father
- 7:23Speaker 1: didn't have an easy life man. My father didn't sit
- 7:26Speaker 1: behind a microphone. My father didn't come to work and
- 7:29Speaker 1: people cheered for him. My father wasn't famous. My father
- 7:33Speaker 1: was just a go get it dude that he instilled
- 7:37Speaker 1: that in me and I've taken that and applied it
- 7:39Speaker 1: to my craft and I thank God for him for that.
- 7:41Speaker 1: But I do try to be financially successful so that
- 7:45Speaker 1: I can do some things with it to help some
- 7:47Speaker 1: other people. Now, am I opposed to having nice things? No?
- 7:51Speaker 1: Do I apologize for having nice things? No? And why
- 7:54Speaker 1: should I? I work? I work, you know, I'm done.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I'm not on the radio asking to give me money,
- 8:01Speaker 1: you know, so I can go buy a car. I'm working.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So I don't feel how you want to feel. And
- 8:06Speaker 1: other people do feel that way about it. But if
- 8:09Speaker 1: success in terms of finance it's what you're lacking, you
- 8:13Speaker 1: can go about the business of doing that. I'm writing
- 8:16Speaker 1: a book and that whole book is about teaching people
- 8:19Speaker 1: how to become successful. And man, I'm breaking it down
- 8:22Speaker 1: in a way where everybody can get it, man, because
- 8:25Speaker 1: I want the college student to get it, you know.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I want the working mom to get it, the single
- 8:30Speaker 1: mom to get it. The hard working father that has
- 8:33Speaker 1: been trying to hold his family together can get it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: The father that ain't ever got it together and feel
- 8:39Speaker 1: that because of that reason, he can't be the father
- 8:41Speaker 1: he needs to be. I'm writing something, man, to put
- 8:44Speaker 1: it into words, to let you know that God is
- 8:47Speaker 1: a forgiving God, and that God is a merciful God,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and that God can get you out of any situation
- 8:54Speaker 1: you find yourself in. You just can't beat yourself up
- 8:58Speaker 1: every time you make a mistake. I make mistakes all
- 9:00Speaker 1: the time, man, I just got to remind myself to
- 9:03Speaker 1: get up. I ask God for forgiveness, I call on
- 9:06Speaker 1: his mercy and it's grace and I get up and
- 9:09Speaker 1: I go again. But it's coming, man. And if finance
- 9:12Speaker 1: success is what you want, you got to change your mind.
- 9:15Speaker 1: You got to start thinking about how to produce it.
- 9:18Speaker 1: The first thing you do is you gotta ask. You
- 9:21Speaker 1: gotta ask to have a life and have a life
- 9:24Speaker 1: more abundantly. That's a scripture that He comes to you
- 9:28Speaker 1: to give you life and to give you life more abundantly.
- 9:32Speaker 1: That's a scripture that ain't a joke, that ain't a theory.
- 9:35Speaker 1: That's a fact, and the fact that if you don't
- 9:38Speaker 1: have a life of abundance, you can get that by asking.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Then it starts by believing, and how to don't even
- 9:44Speaker 1: worry about that. He takes care of at himself. He'll
- 9:46Speaker 1: send the stuff your way. But you got to be
- 9:49Speaker 1: willing to put some effort in this thing now, and
- 9:51Speaker 1: you can do it. Okay. I know I was a
- 9:53Speaker 1: little around the place today, but that's what it was.
- 9:55Speaker 1: So you know, let's go get it. You're listening show.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, may have your attention. Please. Today is
- 10:06Speaker 1: another morning. Today is a new day. Take it as
- 10:11Speaker 1: an opportunity to progress, to move forward, to have the
- 10:16Speaker 1: opportunity to do something great, to be something great. Grow up,
- 10:23Speaker 1: get it right, let's get it on. Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Hey Shirley Strong Day. Hey Steve Harvey, good morning, said
- 10:32Speaker 1: I love my life. Calin for Rell, good morning. It
- 10:38Speaker 1: is Tuesday. I don't want to be nobody else. Junior

- 11:01Speaker 1: need offer his damn birthday? Coming to work? Coming to work,
- 11:06Speaker 1: you need to come back. Always something I always got
- 11:09Speaker 1: a little shot. Excuse let me point this out. You
- 11:13Speaker 1: hired Jay and Tommy. Okay, go back and go back
- 11:17Speaker 1: as you work. Yeah, I hired Jay. It was accident.
- 11:22Speaker 1: What do you mean? Okay, Tommy, I was forced. I
- 11:25Speaker 1: feel sorry for him. You feel you're feel sorry for Jay?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Oh you know, boy? You know tom left, you know
- 11:36Speaker 1: you all and you know him, you know you know yah, yeah,
- 11:43Speaker 1: you know you know long time friend. Yeah, you know,
- 11:49Speaker 1: he gave me a break in the beginning, so you know,
- 11:51Speaker 1: paid him back. But I'm paid him back now though,
- 11:53Speaker 1: So yeah, I can talk about it now because yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 1: so it's a new day. What's going on? Everybody good?
- 12:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, really good. Yeah, you're starting a new
- 12:09Speaker 1: week family mute again. I'm exhausted already. No product? Okay,
- 12:14Speaker 1: you just got what just one weekend? Look, one weekend,
- 12:21Speaker 1: one weekend, one time. I gotta ask you this, though,
- 12:25Speaker 1: some of the mental pressure and strain kind of is
- 12:28Speaker 1: off of us since the the pandemic kind of has um.
- 12:32Speaker 1: You know, the COVID restrictions have relaxed a bit. It
- 12:37Speaker 1: ain't relax your family feud. I'm taking three COVID tests
- 12:40Speaker 1: a week. So yeah, but it's I don't know, wearing
- 12:45Speaker 1: the mask, how you feel you guys Like it's released,
- 12:49Speaker 1: but then I'm kind of confused with it, Like wait
- 12:51Speaker 1: a minute, Yeah, I'm still I think, yeah, you should
- 12:55Speaker 1: still wear masks. I mean, I know the CDC said
- 12:57Speaker 1: that you don't have to inside, um, you know, and
- 13:03Speaker 1: you ain't in my family, have you damn mask? It's like, yeah,
- 13:08Speaker 1: because how do you know if you don't have your
- 13:11Speaker 1: mask on? Stand your ass over there? Social, well, I
- 13:15Speaker 1: can see all of you if you up and I
- 13:18Speaker 1: got to look you up and down. You too close?
- 13:21Speaker 1: Stay back where you just you just one shot, that's true.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I agree, I've moved out of fact. My social dishon
- 13:30Speaker 1: is sixteen feet all right? Coming up next, it is
- 13:37Speaker 1: asked the CLO Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey in the
- 13:41Speaker 1: building at thirty two minutes after right after this, you're
- 13:44Speaker 1: listening Steve Morning Show. All right, guys, time now for
- 13:48Speaker 1: asked the CLO CLO Chief Love Officer Steve Harvey. This
- 13:53Speaker 1: one is from Ken and Dothan, Alabama. Ken says, my
- 13:57Speaker 1: sister and I were awarded a good amount of money
- 14:00Speaker 1: from a car accident. I'm fully recovered, but she still
- 14:03Speaker 1: has to have one more surgery on her leg because
- 14:07Speaker 1: of that, and since it was her car that was totaled,
- 14:10Speaker 1: she wants to split the money sixty forty. The insurance
- 14:14Speaker 1: company gave her the money for a car and paid
- 14:16Speaker 1: a settlement for pain and suffering. She claims she's had
- 14:20Speaker 1: more pain and has suffered more. She says she will
- 14:23Speaker 1: take me to court if I don't agree to it.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I still can't believe she's tripping. What should I do?
- 14:29Speaker 1: I mean, money make people trip, so you know, I mean,
- 14:34Speaker 1: I don't understand how y'all settlement is together that I've
- 14:38Speaker 1: never heard of. Well, maybe they were in both in
- 14:41Speaker 1: the car. Well, I've been in a car accidents before.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Everybody's settlement is suffering. I don't know how they got.
- 14:48Speaker 1: They just paid one lump. Song. Now as she wanted
- 14:52Speaker 1: to be sixty forty dog, you through you? Yeah, just
- 14:57Speaker 1: give us sixty forty dog you already? Don't come on, man, man,
- 15:01Speaker 1: she has to go through one more surgery. Come on, dog,
- 15:04Speaker 1: Just let her have it. But y'all gonna break up
- 15:06Speaker 1: over this twenty percent? That's your sister? Yeah? Yeah, I mean,
- 15:11Speaker 1: now she wrong for that because that ain't high goal.
- 15:14Speaker 1: You're supposed to split the money. But I don't know
- 15:18Speaker 1: since really i've never heard of that before. I'm gonna
- 15:20Speaker 1: be honest with you. In all my years, I've never
- 15:22Speaker 1: heard of a group settlement. And here's the settlement. Y'all
- 15:25Speaker 1: work it out, because it's usually you get this and
- 15:29Speaker 1: you get that based on your injuries and all like that.
- 15:32Speaker 1: She's still she doing. Just give us sixty forty. What
- 15:34Speaker 1: you're tripping from? Man, he says, he's fully recovered. She
- 15:37Speaker 1: still has to have one more surgery on her leg. No,
- 15:41Speaker 1: just let her have it. It ain't worth that this,
- 15:44Speaker 1: it's not. He didn't say it was a sizeable settlement.
- 15:48Speaker 1: He just said. Then. He just said, the insurance company
- 15:50Speaker 1: gave her money for a car paid to settlement for
- 15:53Speaker 1: pain and suffering, and she still wants to split the
- 15:57Speaker 1: money sixty forty because she has more pain and has
- 16:01Speaker 1: suffered more, which is true. Yeah, well the car was hers, obviously, yea,
- 16:07Speaker 1: so they paid for the car. Now the pain is suffering.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I don't know how they lumped it together. I've never
- 16:14Speaker 1: heard of at again. But okay, let's just say, let's
- 16:18Speaker 1: for practical purposes, it's one hundred thousand. Let's say it's
- 16:21Speaker 1: a hundred thousand. You give her sixty, you get forty thousand.
- 16:25Speaker 1: No going ahead, where everybody mad? Yeah, why would you
- 16:29Speaker 1: want to tie this up in cord get attorneys have
- 16:31Speaker 1: to pay them. That's crazy. Just take the forty. She's
- 16:35Speaker 1: still got to have another surgery. Come on, brother to dude,
- 16:38Speaker 1: wasn't that hurt? No day? Right? Right? That's why he
- 16:42Speaker 1: ain't going right. The car slammed into her side of
- 16:47Speaker 1: the car. Yeah, and she's all right. Jonas and Harlem says,
- 16:53Speaker 1: I'm dating my cousin's ex and she recently told him
- 16:56Speaker 1: about us. He said he doesn't mind and gave me
- 16:59Speaker 1: his blood. But every time my cousin and I are
- 17:02Speaker 1: with our boys, he makes jokes about me getting his
- 17:05Speaker 1: sloppy sex and seconds. I can take the joking, but
- 17:09Speaker 1: he also talks about how he used to make her
- 17:11Speaker 1: squeal and call out his name. That's when I get
- 17:13Speaker 1: to the point of wanting to fight him. Mind you,
- 17:16Speaker 1: he dated her when they were twenty and he's thirty one,
- 17:19Speaker 1: and uh, he's thirty one, and it must mean she's
- 17:25Speaker 1: thirty one and he's thirty two. Now, how do I
- 17:29Speaker 1: get him to stop disrespecting me and my girlfriend? Put
- 17:32Speaker 1: him over to the side and say, hey, dog, listen
- 17:35Speaker 1: to me. Now. You gave me your blessing. You told
- 17:39Speaker 1: me it was cool. But what I don't appreciate is
- 17:41Speaker 1: your dog and her in front of everybody, and real men.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Don't do that. Dog, Just leave my girl's name out
- 17:49Speaker 1: your mouth. I'm gonna ask you, conny, But if you
- 17:51Speaker 1: keep doing it, bro, then I'm gonna have a problem
- 17:54Speaker 1: with that. And you're disrespecting her and me when you
- 17:57Speaker 1: do that. That's a simple conversation. Then if he do
- 18:00Speaker 1: it after that, then you got to go and do
- 18:03Speaker 1: something too. What Yeah, you got gonna do something to
- 18:07Speaker 1: him that. It's just man law. After that, if I
- 18:13Speaker 1: ask you not to disrespect my girl no more, and
- 18:16Speaker 1: I talk, I come to you man, a man away
- 18:18Speaker 1: from the other fellas, and you get right back in
- 18:21Speaker 1: front of them and you do it again. What you're
- 18:22Speaker 1: saying is I do what I want to do. I
- 18:24Speaker 1: don't give a damn about you. Now, I've talked to you,
- 18:27Speaker 1: so obviously that wasn't a point. So when I bust
- 18:30Speaker 1: you upside your damn forehead, I bet you understand me. Then,
- 18:34Speaker 1: were not shooting? We fight? Yeah, your cousin's ax and
- 18:41Speaker 1: didn't a lot of that depending on how fine he
- 18:47Speaker 1: twelve years ago, Yeah, I mean twelve years ago, A
- 18:52Speaker 1: lot of things changed. I don't know how it happened,
- 18:54Speaker 1: but you know, you know, they probably wasn't that close
- 18:58Speaker 1: that could happen, like they're pretty close, but okay, Shikida
- 19:03Speaker 1: and Birmingham says, I'm dating a guy that thinks he's
- 19:06Speaker 1: a great comedian but he's not. He's almost forty and
- 19:10Speaker 1: he's still doing private events and can't get into any
- 19:13Speaker 1: of the bigger events. I know he's not funny, but
- 19:16Speaker 1: I can't tell him. I think his appearance is a
- 19:18Speaker 1: problem too. He's only five eight and he's stocky, not fat,
- 19:23Speaker 1: but stocky's a lot of comedians five ain't fat. That
- 19:27Speaker 1: that ain't got nothing to do with it. It's tim
- 19:29Speaker 1: damn jokes he telling the audience at his last show
- 19:33Speaker 1: talked about him, and their jokes were funnier than his.
- 19:36Speaker 1: How can I give him a little feedback without hurting
- 19:39Speaker 1: his pride? How he ain't getting the feedback The audience
- 19:44Speaker 1: is telling jokes to him that's funny in him? What
- 19:47Speaker 1: is he listening? There's no listen to me. Comedians don't
- 19:54Speaker 1: need feedback. It's instant. The thing about our professions, it's instant.
- 20:00Speaker 1: They're saying, you know, you write a song. You release it,
- 20:03Speaker 1: you hope they like it. No, you tell that joke,
- 20:05Speaker 1: you know that night immediately, instant, instant, Well, so he
- 20:16Speaker 1: wants to tell, but she doesn't want to hurt a
- 20:19Speaker 1: Zeko and his pride. What a king of comedy just
- 20:22Speaker 1: tells ye. Listen to me. If you standing up that dying,

- 31:19Speaker 1: birthday nephew. Thank you. You had a big, big birthday weekend.
- 31:24Speaker 1: You gotta tell us about it. I had an icebreaker
- 31:26Speaker 1: up my house on Friday where all the sponsors that
- 31:29Speaker 1: who was sponsoring on my weekend, they came over mixing
- 31:33Speaker 1: in Mingland. Saturday, big service project went to the to
- 31:37Speaker 1: this facility where nothing but veterans live and we painted
- 31:41Speaker 1: there on social media. Yeah yeah, we painted their entire
- 31:45Speaker 1: lobby on the bottom floor. So we did, you know,
- 31:48Speaker 1: did some service where it went around and met a
- 31:50Speaker 1: lot of veterans people that lived there, you know, and
- 31:52Speaker 1: they man, I just loved their spirit. They're all trying
- 31:55Speaker 1: to you know, some of them are just transitioning from
- 31:58Speaker 1: from a housing for facility and you know their next
- 32:01Speaker 1: step would be they get out and get their own
- 32:03Speaker 1: apartment and start living on their own. So it's just
- 32:06Speaker 1: it's just good to see them in the in the transition.
- 32:08Speaker 1: And then that the Sunday was the birthday bash place

- 33:15Speaker 1: Happy birthday and few Tommy, and also to my father
- 33:18Speaker 1: in heaven, this is his birthday also and this is
- 33:21Speaker 1: a trip with the news. While the conflict continues to
- 33:24Speaker 1: rage between Hamas and the Israelis. On this day nine,
- 33:27Speaker 1: the death toll about two hundred and twelve, most of
- 33:29Speaker 1: them Palestinians, including sixty one children, a fourteen hundred others wounded.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Ten Israelis have been killed as well. President Biden says
- 33:37Speaker 1: he supports the ceasefire and he's trying to accomplish it. Meanwhile,
- 33:40Speaker 1: the President says the US is going to share its
- 33:42Speaker 1: excess COVID vaccines supplied with the rest of the world.
- 33:45Speaker 1: The President says, over the next six weeks he's going
- 33:47Speaker 1: to be sending out some twenty million doses of fire
- 33:50Speaker 1: zero Maderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines on top of
- 33:54Speaker 1: astra Zenicas serium as soon as that gets the FDA approval. UNICEF,
- 33:58Speaker 1: from the World Health Organization, you know, have been urging
- 34:00Speaker 1: the wealthier nations to share their excess stores of the
- 34:03Speaker 1: vaccine with poorer ones. But mister Biden says he's happy
- 34:06Speaker 1: to do it, but he's not being totally unselfish. Rampant
- 34:09Speaker 1: disease and death in other countries can destabilize them those
- 34:13Speaker 1: countries and pose a risk to us as well. New
- 34:16Speaker 1: variants could arise overseas that could put us at a
- 34:19Speaker 1: greater risk. And we need to help fight the disease
- 34:22Speaker 1: around the world to keep us safe here at home,
- 34:25Speaker 1: and to do the right thing of helping other people.
- 34:27Speaker 1: It's the right thing to do. Okay, get this. South
- 34:30Speaker 1: Carolina has now become the fourth US state to allow
- 34:34Speaker 1: executions by firing squad. South Carolina's governor Handing Masses signed
- 34:39Speaker 1: a bill into law that allows death row inmates to
- 34:42Speaker 1: choose between the electric chair and a firing squad. The
- 34:46Speaker 1: new law estates that lethal injection remains the primary method
- 34:49Speaker 1: of execution if the state has the drugs. However, apparently
- 34:52Speaker 1: South Carolina's supply of lethal drugs ran out in twenty thirteen.
- 34:56Speaker 1: The other three states that allow firing squads are Mississippi, Oklahoma,
- 35:01Speaker 1: and Utah, which has already put three people to death
- 35:04Speaker 1: that way. According to the American Civil Liberties Union in
- 35:06Speaker 1: South Carolina has a racist history, especially when it comes
- 35:10Speaker 1: to capital punishment, and the nineteen of the thirty seven
- 35:13Speaker 1: inmates currently on death row in that state are black.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Happens in Canada. An eighty one year old black man,
- 35:19Speaker 1: retired judge, taking his morning walk in Vancouver, British Columbia.
- 35:22Speaker 1: The other day, five white cops surround him, cuff and
- 35:25Speaker 1: claiming he fit the description of a man in his
- 35:27Speaker 1: forties Selwyn Romilly, the first black judge appointing to the
- 35:31Speaker 1: top court in that province. He says he was just
- 35:33Speaker 1: walking and the cops grabbed. They let him go once
- 35:35Speaker 1: they found who he was, and finally police in Kentucky,
- 35:38Speaker 1: you say, a man thought he could outrun authorities on
- 35:40Speaker 1: the State Highway, clocking one und to forty three miles
- 35:43Speaker 1: per hour. But he made two mistakes. Mostly he ran
- 35:45Speaker 1: out of gas and he was driving a bright yellow
- 35:48Speaker 1: twenty fifteen Fard and Ward Mustang. Back to the Steve
- 35:50Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to the Harvey Morning Show. Well,

- 37:05Speaker 1: That's what it's all about. Small phrases put together for

- 38:11Speaker 1: A monster. Two dogs ain't gonna lie to you. Man.
- 38:13Speaker 1: A lot of stuff go away in ten. No. I
- 38:16Speaker 1: ain't depressing, but you know, if you know, you can
- 38:19Speaker 1: stay fit like your boy. I try to stay agile
- 38:22Speaker 1: and everything. I was in the gym this morning. But
- 38:24Speaker 1: you know, it's just some stuff gold man. But I
- 38:28Speaker 1: try to be a young sixty four because man, I
- 38:32Speaker 1: got some friends. Man, y'all come home, bros. We gotta
- 38:35Speaker 1: do better than this. But we got a large group, man,
- 38:38Speaker 1: and we all kind of, you know, do things together. Now.
- 38:41Speaker 1: You know, we support each other health wise and stuff.
- 38:43Speaker 1: You know, Yeah, because they're important to me. Man. These dudes,
- 38:46Speaker 1: man go back to college days, and two of them
- 38:49Speaker 1: go all the way back to those first people I
- 38:51Speaker 1: met in Cleveland when I was four. All right. We
- 38:54Speaker 1: were celebrating Tommy all morning and coming up at thirty
- 38:58Speaker 1: four minutes after the hour. Comedian and joke stealing. Pretty
- 39:01Speaker 1: touchy subject. We'll get into this. Get into it. You're
- 39:06Speaker 1: listening to Dave Harvey Morning Show. So on social media,
- 39:12Speaker 1: comedian Precious Hall Comedy said that at Leslie Dog stole
- 39:18Speaker 1: her joke while hosting the MTV Video and TV Awards
- 39:21Speaker 1: on Sunday Night. Now, Precious Hall Comedy claims that Leslie
- 39:25Speaker 1: stole her joke that she's been doing for years. She
- 39:29Speaker 1: went on she went in on her ig page saying
- 39:33Speaker 1: it's not okay. Precious posted that the particular joke she's
- 39:36Speaker 1: been doing for years. She has also made t shirts
- 39:39Speaker 1: from it and has had a trademarked now Leslie, we
- 39:43Speaker 1: know Leslie Jones from Saturday Saturday Night Live. Well. Leslie
- 39:47Speaker 1: Jones responded to Precious Hall, saying that she didn't steal
- 39:51Speaker 1: Precious's joke. She hasn't been in a comedy club in years,
- 39:55Speaker 1: and she doesn't steal comics jokes, but that comedians write
- 39:59Speaker 1: similar stuff all of the time. Leslie went on to
- 40:03Speaker 1: say she has worked very hard to get where she
- 40:05Speaker 1: is and this could have been handled differently. Leslie said,
- 40:10Speaker 1: I apologize once again if you think I stole your joke,
- 40:14Speaker 1: and nice to meet you too, Precious. So what do
- 40:16Speaker 1: you guys, what do you guys as comedians, as professional
- 40:20Speaker 1: comedians on this show, what do you guys have to
- 40:22Speaker 1: say about this? I think, um, I think a lot
- 40:26Speaker 1: of people are right from the same premise, But I
- 40:28Speaker 1: don't know the joke, so I have to hear it.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I'd have to hear both of them. But but everybody
- 40:33Speaker 1: has touched on the same premise at one point or another.
- 40:36Speaker 1: So unless you're saying something verbatim, I don't know. I'd
- 40:39Speaker 1: have to hear hear it too to actually judge it. Yeah,
- 40:44Speaker 1: there are no new premises on planets. None. The subject.
- 40:49Speaker 1: When you guys say premise, you premise subjects, subject matter,
- 40:53Speaker 1: contexts such a subject matter and contact is open to interpretation. Okay,
- 40:59Speaker 1: here's the other thing. Once a joke is so old, look, man,
- 41:05Speaker 1: anybody can come along with any idea similar and you
- 41:09Speaker 1: can be mad about it. But if a joke is old,
- 41:14Speaker 1: and you know, it's like hard, man, it's like hard
- 41:17Speaker 1: when you hear somebody say I've been doing a joke
- 41:20Speaker 1: for years well, how is that because in comedy, man
- 41:26Speaker 1: is not like music, and I know what I'm talking about.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I'm talking pure fact here. This is not an opinion.
- 41:33Speaker 1: So I know everything, I get everything I say. Get
- 41:36Speaker 1: to social media. Here goes Steve's head. This I'm telling
- 41:38Speaker 1: you fact. You can have a joke that you wrote
- 41:42Speaker 1: and it be yours. Now. You can have a joke
- 41:44Speaker 1: that you're doing out on a comedy club circuit currently
- 41:47Speaker 1: and that's your set, and you do it, but when
- 41:49Speaker 1: you go back to that city, you can't do that joke, man,
- 41:53Speaker 1: because jokes don't transfer like songs. People come to the
- 41:57Speaker 1: concept to hear their hits. People don't come to the
- 42:00Speaker 1: concert to hear their jokes because they're not gonna laugh
- 42:03Speaker 1: the same way. So if you now, there are guys
- 42:08Speaker 1: who've been doing jokes for years, but their career is
- 42:12Speaker 1: not progressing. Because if you got the same set you've
- 42:16Speaker 1: had for five years, ain't nobody your Your career is
- 42:19Speaker 1: not progress So now, Junior, you heard how Precious did
- 42:24Speaker 1: the joke, because it's something we can't play a morning radio.
- 42:28Speaker 1: So you heard how Precious did the joke, and you
- 42:30Speaker 1: saw how Less did the joke. What do you get.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I mean, you know it could be taken ass I
- 42:36Speaker 1: can see why Precious could feel that way, because you know,
- 42:40Speaker 1: if you like, if you stoke, people are gonna steal
- 42:42Speaker 1: the joke. They're not gonna tell the joke the exact
- 42:44Speaker 1: same way you told it. So but the cadence is
- 42:47Speaker 1: still the same, the delivery. And yeah, so I can
- 42:53Speaker 1: see how she could feel like, hey, you stole that.
- 42:56Speaker 1: You know, you stole that from me. That's why she's
- 42:59Speaker 1: having that feeling like that. I can understand from both
- 43:03Speaker 1: sides of it. And Leslie doesn't do comedy clubs anymore.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Ain't been in the club, did you know? And then
- 43:13Speaker 1: a lot of times, man like you're doing an MTV
- 43:15Speaker 1: set in anybody, They got writers on these shows. Okay,
- 43:21Speaker 1: here's the question. Do you think um that Precious because
- 43:26Speaker 1: she is upset about the jokes, should she should she
- 43:29Speaker 1: have contacted Leslie personally or should she put it out right?
- 43:34Speaker 1: But seem to go public with it. Yeah, that's the thing.
- 43:37Speaker 1: It's handled kind of crazy because now you put the
- 43:40Speaker 1: girl on the defensive. But I like what Leslie said
- 43:43Speaker 1: in that I apologize, but we could have handled it differently.
- 43:48Speaker 1: That's a true statement. Yeah, coming up now, but Leslie's
- 43:51Speaker 1: a bad girls, bad chick man. Oh yeah, so all right,
- 43:58Speaker 1: coming up next the nephew birthday boy with a prank
- 44:01Speaker 1: phone call. Right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, right about
- 44:09Speaker 1: four minutes after. It's my strawberry letter forward today. The
- 44:12Speaker 1: subject she acts like a bitter old bitty girl. You
- 44:22Speaker 1: and your subjects of your old Let me be clear,
- 44:28Speaker 1: I know, I know. Wait till you hear that, he
- 44:31Speaker 1: ty all of that, all of that Right now, the
- 44:36Speaker 1: birthday boy is in the building with today's prank phone call.
- 44:40Speaker 1: What you got for us today? Right now? Birthday, Well,
- 44:43Speaker 1: on the fifty fourth day of me being born, I'd
- 44:46Speaker 1: like a first day thank you so kindly too, everyone
- 44:50Speaker 1: who came out in Houston, Texas and celebrated my birthday
- 44:53Speaker 1: as we raise money for veterans, which is miles of giving.
- 44:56Speaker 1: So I don't want to thank everyone who came out
- 44:58Speaker 1: that my golf tournament it was on Monday, Oh dear
- 45:02Speaker 1: sold out of course, And of course are you today
- 45:06Speaker 1: on your birthday? One of those people in his head,
- 45:10Speaker 1: one of them people anyway, raise some good money this
- 45:12Speaker 1: weekend from my foundation Miles and Given. So it was
- 45:15Speaker 1: a big, big, big, big blow up and I'm just
- 45:18Speaker 1: glad of the success that came this weekend. So big
- 45:21Speaker 1: ups to the Miles of Giving Foundation. Thank y'all for
- 45:24Speaker 1: the support. Yeah, people flew in from all over and
- 45:30Speaker 1: pretty good. And it is on the road, the Miles
- 45:33Speaker 1: of Giving in the Birthday Bashes on the road next year,
- 45:37Speaker 1: next year, this this time. Next year, it will be
- 45:40Speaker 1: in the n O, New Orleans. Okay, So the party
- 45:46Speaker 1: is gonna be a party in New Orleans. It's gonna
- 45:47Speaker 1: be a comedy show in New Orleans. It's gonna be
- 45:49Speaker 1: a golf tournament New Orleans. The Nephew is taking the
- 45:53Speaker 1: Birthday Bash slash Miles of Giving to New Orleans year

- 53:45Speaker 1: it for you here. It is the Strawberry Letter. Subject.
- 53:49Speaker 1: She acts like a bigger subject hicks like a bitter
- 53:53Speaker 1: old bitty trouble great day in radio show, you see
- 54:01Speaker 1: it would no, it wouldn't have, Junior. You know, my
- 54:08Speaker 1: people'll be talking, we'll be trending. All right. Here we
- 54:14Speaker 1: go Dear Stephen Shirley. I'm a fifty year old married
- 54:17Speaker 1: man and my wife and I have been married for
- 54:19Speaker 1: eleven years. When we got married, I was working on
- 54:22Speaker 1: my doctorate degree and I worked full time and was
- 54:26Speaker 1: struggled to take care of her and our newborn child.
- 54:30Speaker 1: She decided to start school herself after having our second child.
- 54:34Speaker 1: She got her master's degree in nine, twenty nineteen, and
- 54:38Speaker 1: I expected her to apply for a job, but instead
- 54:41Speaker 1: she decided to get her doctorate degree. This led to
- 54:46Speaker 1: more financial stress in our family. The little I made
- 54:49Speaker 1: barely covered rent and the financial strain was great. I
- 54:53Speaker 1: had to take side hustles just to make ends meet,
- 54:57Speaker 1: and I think this led to a change and attitude
- 54:59Speaker 1: for both of us, and we began snapping at each
- 55:02Speaker 1: other over the tiniest things. I began to think of
- 55:05Speaker 1: what to do to improve our situation, and finally, by
- 55:08Speaker 1: the grace of God, I got a great job. I
- 55:11Speaker 1: figured it would improve our marriage, but things got worse.
- 55:15Speaker 1: She is still snappy, complains all the time, nags me
- 55:19Speaker 1: about everything, and she's always tired from school. She hardly
- 55:23Speaker 1: takes care of herself, and when I complain, all she
- 55:26Speaker 1: says is who am I trying to impress? Sex between
- 55:29Speaker 1: us has dwindled to once or twice a month, and
- 55:32Speaker 1: even then it's a chore. She only allows me to
- 55:36Speaker 1: do a quickie and she starts complaining if I take
- 55:39Speaker 1: too long to finish. We hardly talk as husband and wife,
- 55:42Speaker 1: and I started sleeping in another room anytime she's not
- 55:46Speaker 1: home and I'm with our kids, We're all in a
- 55:49Speaker 1: good mood. Soon as she walks in, the atmosphere is tense.
- 55:53Speaker 1: She acts like an old, bitter, elderly woman, but she
- 55:57Speaker 1: is only forty one. Is this how lady act after
- 56:01Speaker 1: a while in marriage or is this a special case?
- 56:04Speaker 1: How can I get her back to how she was? Well?
- 56:08Speaker 1: I mean, you know, first of all, you guys can
- 56:10Speaker 1: talk more as husband and wife, you know, And you've
- 56:13Speaker 1: got to consider this huge load that she's taken on.
- 56:17Speaker 1: She's studying for her doctorate degree, she just had a baby.
- 56:22Speaker 1: You know, there's a lot of things going on here.
- 56:24Speaker 1: And I'm going to tell you, I honestly think she
- 56:27Speaker 1: needs to see a doctor immediately. I mean, she might
- 56:30Speaker 1: be suffering from postpartum depression. It's been a while, but
- 56:34Speaker 1: if maybe if it's untreated, you know, there's still some
- 56:37Speaker 1: residual effects here from having this baby. It happens a
- 56:40Speaker 1: lot in women, many women after having a baby. And again,
- 56:45Speaker 1: she's got a lot on her plate with school, the
- 56:47Speaker 1: financial stress. You know, that doesn't just affect you, it
- 56:51Speaker 1: affects her in the whole family. Even though you say
- 56:54Speaker 1: you have a great job now, it doesn't seem that
- 56:56Speaker 1: easy for her to snap back. I'm asking you to
- 56:59Speaker 1: be a little more patient with her, and if you
- 57:02Speaker 1: guys can afford it, maybe you can get someone to
- 57:04Speaker 1: help her with the kids and around the house for
- 57:07Speaker 1: a couple of days a week. You know, maybe send
- 57:10Speaker 1: her to the spot to see if she can invite
- 57:12Speaker 1: her girlfriends over or ask them to take her out
- 57:14Speaker 1: for a girl's night out. It sounds like she needs
- 57:17Speaker 1: to get out of the house, do something different than
- 57:20Speaker 1: what she's been doing. And it seems like, you know,
- 57:23Speaker 1: working on her on her degree is really really hard
- 57:26Speaker 1: on her. Please be more supportive as a husband, but
- 57:30Speaker 1: by all means, make sure she sees a doctor. Steve supporting. Yeah,
- 57:37Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know how he can be any
- 57:39Speaker 1: more supportive. I really don't great answer, though, Cheryl. I
- 57:43Speaker 1: liked your answer to protect this woman. But in this
- 57:49Speaker 1: case right here, I don't see how she needs protecting.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I think this woman has to step up and get
- 57:56Speaker 1: herself together and make some changes. Now, if it's me enticle,
- 58:01Speaker 1: then like Shirley said, it could be this postmonem. But
- 58:05Speaker 1: the baby eleven years ago. Now, no, she had another one,
- 58:16Speaker 1: but she fifty ye old man. Man, My wife and
- 58:19Speaker 1: I been married eleven years. We got married, I was
- 58:21Speaker 1: working on my doctor degree. I worked full time, struggling
- 58:24Speaker 1: to take care of her and our newborn child. Okay,
- 58:29Speaker 1: she decided to start school herself after having our second child.
- 58:35Speaker 1: She got a master's degree in twenty nineteen, that's two
- 58:38Speaker 1: years ago. I expected her to apply for a job,
- 58:41Speaker 1: but instead she decided to get a doctorate degree. Now,
- 58:45Speaker 1: obviously this is too much the children and the doctor
- 58:48Speaker 1: to be. This led to more financial stress in the family.
- 58:51Speaker 1: The little I made barely covered rent. The financial strain
- 58:55Speaker 1: was great, which is always a big cause in marriage
- 58:57Speaker 1: is struggling. I took side line hustles to make ends meet,
- 59:02Speaker 1: and I think this led to a change in attitude
- 59:04Speaker 1: for both of us. We both again snapping over the
- 59:09Speaker 1: tiniest things. I began to think of what to do
- 59:13Speaker 1: to improve our situation. And finally, grace to God, I
- 59:15Speaker 1: got a great job. I figured it would improve our marriage,
- 59:19Speaker 1: but things got worse. She's still snapping, complaints all the time,
- 59:23Speaker 1: nags me about everything as she's tired from school. She
- 59:27Speaker 1: wanted to go to school. She's snapping. She forty one
- 59:32Speaker 1: to do, doing all he can do. Now, let me
- 59:35Speaker 1: tell you something, sir, you can't make another person happy.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Bishop Jakes told me this one time. He says, Steve,
- 59:42Speaker 1: you can't make another person happy, nor is it your job.
- 59:46Speaker 1: And if you take on that job to make another
- 59:49Speaker 1: person happy, you have taken on a daunting, daunting responsibility
- 59:54Speaker 1: because you can't do it. She's not a happy person
- 59:57Speaker 1: right now? Yeah, hang stif all right, we'll have part
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: two of Steve's response coming up at twenty three minutes
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letters subject. She acts like
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: a bitter old bitty. We'll get back into it right
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: after this. You're listening show, all right, Come on, Steve,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: let's recap today's Strawberry Letters subject. Watch calor curringe when
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: I say this, she acts like a bitter old bitty
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: fifty year old man married and got a wife. Eleven
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: years he was working on your doctor degree, and you
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: work full time, and y'all were struggling taking care of
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: her and newborn. She decided to start school herself. After
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: having that second child. She got a master's degree in
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: two thousand nine to expect her apply for a job,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: but instead she decided to get a doctor degree. So,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: y'all like degrees. If y'all like making money as much
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: as y'all like having degrees, y'all might be on to something.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: But we'll just leave that loan. That ain't my business.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: You know, some people like degrees, so go ahead and
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: get you another one. Somebody once told me, though, a
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: very very rich man was talking to a group of
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: college students at a big event, like was some type
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: of confidence going on, and this guy was standing up
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: to He was talking about his degrees and how much
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: he made a year, and that he was going to
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: go back to get another degree because he wanted to
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: make a little bit more year and thought necessary he'd
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: get a third. He says, soundly, may ask you something.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: If you have a degree that ain't working for you,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: why would you go get another one of them? And
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I kind of I just thought about that, So I'm
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: just I'm just saying that because this might be that
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: problem with this letter. So now you all barely got
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: you So finally, by the grace of God, you got
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: a good job and you thought it was smooth everything
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: out when it didn't. She's still snapping, complains all the time,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: nags me about everything, and she's tied from school. She
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: says she wanted to go to school. Sometimes, Man, you
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: make decisions. And now I hate to get spiritual on you,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: but I gotta tell you this because I've done this
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: myself several hundred times. You make a decision without asking
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: God anything about it. You just you could go through
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: your plan. And now you're miserable because that might not
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: have been the best way to do it. Just because
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: you make a decision, don't and you want to do it,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: don't make it the right decision for you. So now
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: you're miserable, and now you're making the man miserable, nags
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: you about everything. She's already tired for school. Now hit
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: the part she hardly takes care of herself. Here we go.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Now we're in a dangerous party. Left, she don't take
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: care of herself, and then When I complain about that,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: all she says is, who am I trying to impress? Hell?
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: How about me? But see this woman is tripping a
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: little bit because it's just about her. Now, I went
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: back school to get me a doctorate degree. I'm tired.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I ain't finning do nothing else. Who am I trying
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: to impress me? Your husband? She did? She didn't. She didn't.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Forgot the same thing it took to get your babyhook,
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: It's gonna take the same thing. Keep sex between us
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: has dwindled down to once or twice a month. See
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: we're in trouble now. Now you ain't taking care of yourself,
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: and now we're having sex once or twice a month.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: He fitted without problem. Probably at anybody if any do
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: this one twice a Okay, I'm just saying it. I'm
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: just I'm because it hurt. Everything hurt everybody. Know that
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: this is time to change your tone, because things just
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: fitning change. Anybody feeling sit up here and do this
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: what you want it? Twice a month that he didn't
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: got two good job. Somebody down there walking past him
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: looking just like he liked. She taking care of herself
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: and everything. Now I'm all for the institution of marriage.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: I try to make it work, but now even when
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: you make love it's a chore. She only allows me
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: to do it quickie, and she starts complaining if I
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: take long to finish. We hardy talk his husband and
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: wife and I started sleeping in another room anytime she
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: got home, and I'm with our kids. We all in
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: a good mood. Soon as she walk in atmospheres ten
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: that reminds me of a person we used to know.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: It's called black cloud. See black. You ain't got some
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: people walking in the room or just a black cloud.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: It's just people walking room. Just darg black cloud. Just
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: hear their ass come damn thunderstorm walking in the room.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Weather change. She acts like an old, bitty elderly woman,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: but she's only forty one. Is this how ladies act
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: after a wild in marriage? No, by any means, nowhere
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: near all of them. But you got the one that
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: do though. Is this a special case? Yeah, it's kind
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: of special. Now, changes happen in all marriages, and you
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: gotta make adjustments. But she ain't making them. So now
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: how can I get her back to how she was?
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know that, surely said get
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: us some medical help. But I think it's a mental thing.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: If you tied all the time, that ain't medical. You'redn't
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: been off more than you choose. You try to get
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: a degree in something. Now you're on a doctorate. You know,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: y'all gonna just keep going to school. I mean you
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: can do that. Education is greater. I think smart is
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: a guilt beside. Sometimes you're doing more more than you
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: can handle. And she didn't been off a lot. We
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: having sex once twice a month. You're nagging and complaining
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: about everything. You didn't let yourself go, and you ain't
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: taking care of yourself. Me and the kids at home
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: having a good time. You walk in and a change
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: because you're evil. I'm not staying with you. I'm not
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: I'm not doing that. I'm not staying No, if you evil,
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: I'm not staying with you. There's a scripture that says
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: it is better to live on the corner of a
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: rooftop than inside with a quarrels a woman. That's in proverbs.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: I'm not fit to do that, and you can't ask
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: a man to do that. Ladies, all right, I feel
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: like I'm dead once. I feel like I'm dead I
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: gets optimation poster comments on today's Strawberry that's what that
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: part mean to a death? Do us part and I
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: feel dead? Time for us to part at Steve Harvey
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: FM on Instagram and Facebook. Check out the Strawberry Letter
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: podcast on demand coming up at forty six minutes after
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: the hour Sports Talk with Junior. Right after this you're
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, here we go,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Junior is here with Sports Talk. What you got Junior?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: All right, Shirley, Well, before I do that, let me
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: just remind everybody June fifth to kire his whole third
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: annual Sickle Sell five K Run and Fun Walk is
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: going down in Dallas. Old Joe fifth, go to kiers
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Hope dot org as k I R s Hope dot
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: org to register. Now, with that being said, Shirley, this,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: I don't know why they changed this up. The plans
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: for the NBA playoffs. The play in is for the
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: playoffs starts tonight or the play game. The play ins
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: for the playoffs. So that means if you're in the
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: one through six, you're automatically in the playoffs, but to
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: get the seventh and eighth seed, you have to have
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: the play in. So that means if you're anywhere from
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: seven to ten, they have to play. So seven plays
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: eight and nine plays ten for the last two seats.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: And this is how this works. If you seventh and eight, okay,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: and you win, you automatically get the seventh seed. Okay,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: if you lose, you have to play the winner out
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: the ninth and tenth and if you lose that game,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: then you out. Yeah. Now after that, the winner from
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: the first game and the winner from the nast game,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: I mean the lose it from the first game and
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: the winner from the last game played each other for
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: the final eight seed. Now I know that sounds crazy,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: but let me just tell you it's so crazy timing.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: But this why would y'all change it? If you just
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: ain't had, if you ain't in the top eight, you
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: just don't go. That's got somebody got somebody got everybody.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: This is so this is what we got in the
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Eastern Conference tonight. That's who's this playing the Hornets and
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: the Pacers. They are ninth and ten. They play, okay,
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: name whoever loses that game is out. Then you got
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: the Wizards versus the Celtics. Okay, Now, whoever wins that
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: game is in, and whoever loses that game has one
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: more game to play. The guin in for the eighth seed.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: That's yeah. Yeah. Then tomorrow night, Wednesday night, you have
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: the Spurs versus the Grizzlies. That's ninth and tenth. Whoever
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: loses that game is out. Now you have the one
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: everybody waiting on, the Warriors versus the Lakers, Steph Curry
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: and Lebron James. Now the world champion used to be
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: number one in the in the West, have failed so
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: far down when Lebron and A d was out, they
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: are now in the play in for the playoffs. Play
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I also sick all these peas though. That's what I am.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: The play in for the playoffs. Man, Look, come on,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: make some of the money that they lost back. Yeah,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: they so you know, I'm sorry you say what I said.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: Are they trying to make some of the money that
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: they lost during the seems like you don't, ye, because
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: you don't require all these extra games. If it was
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: tenth in the West, I don't want to watch. I don't. Yeah,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: if you was tenth in the east of the West,
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: you weren't gonna make the playoffs, No way, all right,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: well there you see what happens. Thank you, Junior. Coming
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour, we'll have more
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: listening to the Steven Show. Well, animals, including tigers, have
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: been in the news lately, and the question is here's
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: a question. Listen, guys, if you had to fight a
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: wild animal, which animal would you choose? And why? A
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: new online survey by you gov of twelve hundred and
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: twenty four US adults aged eighteen and over UM ask
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: participants to answer the question which animal do you think
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: you would win in a fight? Humans included the mighty
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: elephant and fierce rhinoceros one out against more than thirty
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: other predators and pray seventy four percent of the time.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: So I gotta ask you, guys, which animal? Which wild
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: animal would you fight? Junior? Right now, I'm gonna whoop
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: a wild rabbit's ass. I got I promise I'm gonna
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: win that one. I'm not gonna lose to this rabbits.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: I'm not a rhinoceros. That's a weird question, but yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: oh I kick a squirrel. Come on, little squirrel, ain't
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: any squirreling country with mine running out in traffic, faking
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: back and forth. What was that you thought you saw
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: in your car? That was oh no, that was Tommy
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: yeah something to no, no, no, a squirrel. I had
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: left my windows opened in the garage and a squirrel
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: climbed up in the back seat and was in the window.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: And when I get in the car started the car
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: and I looked in the rear view mirror. I thought
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: a bow, which in mind, because you know that little
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: sign say objects are closer than the liver take you something.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: I thought it was a bow in that damn call
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: if you have seen me climb out that damn car
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: without opening the door, and it was a squirrel. That
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: squirrel just jumped out the car, just hopped on down
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: this driver because I left the rage or him something.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: But that damn taught me with that possum story the greatest.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: All right, So we are at LA and me and
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: I still at YouTube SIRL. We got to be on
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: the air at three o'clock in the morning because we
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: were syndicated to the Dallas which is five o'clock in
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: the morning in Dallas, so you got to be there.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: So I'm leaving thirty thirty minutes ahead of time. I'm
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: leaving so I can't get there on times, so he
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: ain't mad at me. But when I get to the
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: when I get on top of the yard park instruction,
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: my car's backed up against the fence. And then it's
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: got one of them listen, two forty nice sun two
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: forty eight, and it's got that little pop up sun roof.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: You know, it don't go back and forth, it just
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: pop up behind the car. Is a possum on the fence.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Oh god, I didn't stomped. I stomped. I shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: I did all that nine by nine by two fifty.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna be late for work for show. So I said, okay,
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: that's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna get in on
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: the passage side. And something bad innything. I just climb over.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: So I get in on the passenger side, and and
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: and I closed the door. Now, if you knew any thing,
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: if you know anything about the Nissan too, for that,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: when you close the door, there's a seatbelt track that
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: comes right down the side of your face automatically. And
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: I thought his ass was in that car. I was
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: throwing them hands like it was the end of the world.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: My knuckles were swollen, I was bleeding on. My face
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: was scratched. The greatest thought that SEAT thought that was
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: that possum dog. I thought that was that. I thought
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: that possum had come through the top of that roof
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: down on me. The greatest ass whooping I have ever taken.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: I gave it to myself. Right man, man, I got
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: the words. Steve looked at me, Man, what halm? What ham? Whoo?
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Who jumped on you? Yeah? Man, you ain't gonna believe
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: this right here. That's how we had to go through.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: All right, all right, we'll have more. Let see Barby
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Morning Show coming up for twenty minutes after the hour
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: right after this, you're listening to show. How are you
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: guys feeling about this whole mask confusion mandate situation? Going on?
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Break it down to me, lay it all the way
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: up is well, you know see the Yeah, the CDC
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: came out with the rule that if you've been fully vaccinated,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: you don't have to wear your mask. Okay, indoors, yeah, indoors.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: But then some stories say you you do have they
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: want you to still wear your mask inside, you know,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: so it's kind of confusing. And the other thing is,
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: how do you know who's been vaccinated or not? You know,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: it's we're on the honor system where we have to
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: believe people. I'm wearing my mask. Yeah yeah, yeah, because
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: I don't trust people, and there's too many people that's
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: just dumb about this whole thing. So I still I
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: still wear my mask. Yeah yeah. Now I'm fascinated. And
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: I told you I ate chittens for thirty eight years,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: so I'm like completely protected and you believe them. Thirty
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: eight years of chittnings has prevented anything from taking hold

- 1:16:32Speaker 1: money from a car accident. I'm fully recovered, but she
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: still has to have one more surgery on her leg
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: because of that, and since it was her car that
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: was totaled, she wants to split the money. Sixty forty
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: the insurance company gave her the money for a car
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: and paid a settlement for pain and suffering. She claims
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: she's had more pain and has suffered more. She says
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: she will take me to court if I don't agree
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: to it. I still can't believe she's tripping. What should
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: I do? I mean, money make people trimp, so, you know,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: I mean, I don't understand how y'all settlement is together
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: that I've never heard of? Were in the car? Well,
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: I've been in a car accidents before. Everybody settlement is separate.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: I don't know how they got They just paying one
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: lump song now and she wanted to be sixty forty. Dog,
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: you through you our Yeah, just give us sixty forty
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: dog you already known. Come on, she has to go

- 1:17:39Speaker 1: I mean, now she wrong for that, because that ain't
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: high goal. You're supposed to split the money, but I
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: don't know since really, i've never heard of that before.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest with you. In all my years,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: i've never heard of a group settlement. And here's the settlement.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Y'all work it out, because it's usually you get this
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: and you get that based on your injuries and all
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: like that. She's still she doing. Just give us sixty
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: forty what you're tripping from? Man, he says, he's fully recovered.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: She still has to have one more surgery on her leg. No,
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: just let her have it. It ain't worth that, it's not.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: He didn't say it was a sizeable settlement. He just said.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: He just said the insurance company gave her money for
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: a car, paid a settlement for pain and suffering, and
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: she still wants to split the money sixty forty because
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: she has more pain and has suffered more, which is true. Yeah,
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: well the car was hers obviously. Yeah, so they paid
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: for the car. Now the pain is suffering. I don't
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: know how they lumped it together. I've never heard of
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: at again. But okay, let's just say, let's for practical purposes,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: it's one hundred thousand let's say it's a hundred thousand,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: you give her sixty, you get forty thousand. No, why
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: would you want to tie this up in cord get
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: a turn? Hees have to pay them, that's crazy. Just

- 1:24:17Speaker 1: add these numbers up and tell a story that fits
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: it all? Five and four is nine. Yeah, here's a
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: story of when love Tommy was nine years old. It
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: was his ninth birthday and we had decided that it
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: was time to move him up. Because his hands were
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: so small, we were never able to buy him a
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: real cake because he would have fell in it and
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: we never would have been able to find him. Oh,
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: don't wear the kids, but we may do. Yeah, his
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: first birthday cake was a donut hole. I know he
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: did too. His second, Yes, his second birthday. Then we
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: moved up when we was finally able to buy him
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: something bigger than that, and we finally let him get
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: a cupcake. And then finally we moved up and we stuck.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: We started sticking candles in honey bunds, and then finally,
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: on five eighteen, his birthday, his eighteenth birthday, we got
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: him his first cake, a real a real one, a
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: strawberry shout cap. He was overjoyed. Or if you'd have
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: seen the telephone books that we was putting in chairs
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: so he could get up there to see that cake.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: And that was the happiest day of his life. Every
