- 6:51Speaker 1: Guess who has to support you? Everybody? I just reached mcdown. Everybody. Yes,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I um, diabetes type two is nothing to play with
- 7:03Speaker 1: and um, we African Americans, Uh, it tends to like
- 7:08Speaker 1: us a little bit more and we want to change that.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Can change it by just getting healthy And said, first
- 7:15Speaker 1: of all, I know you gotta do eighteen hours you

- 7:44Speaker 1: hour look. Have to look out. I want to see
- 7:50Speaker 1: what you look like at the eighteen hour mark when
- 7:53Speaker 1: you go, what the heck am I doing out here?
- 7:55Speaker 1: That's the look I want because you're doing a great cause.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So let give out your website one more time so
- 8:00Speaker 1: we can let everybody know what I'm gonna Let you
- 8:01Speaker 1: go back to running. Walk excuse me? Okay, dot com?
- 8:07Speaker 1: All right, we talk again. Alright? Oh my man, about
- 8:12Speaker 1: to introduce you, so you can't say anything yet. That
- 8:14Speaker 1: was Ailonda Holder. She's an ulta marathon okay. And I
- 8:17Speaker 1: had on my show before and and and she's just
- 8:20Speaker 1: a nice person. And diabetes. Like she said, she lost
- 8:23Speaker 1: both her parents two diabetes. And so let me introduce you.
- 8:26Speaker 1: My next guest is a nationally recognized He is recognized
- 8:29Speaker 1: because I've seen him on there. You know, you're going
- 8:31Speaker 1: the store and you go, you know, you dream to
- 8:34Speaker 1: have apps like this guy. You dream, you know, because
- 8:38Speaker 1: I can't get him. I tried, but again, when you
- 8:41Speaker 1: eat a banana split, it's hard. And we're gonna talk
- 8:46Speaker 1: because he's been talking this weekend and he went and
- 8:48Speaker 1: ate a lunch with me, so that was that was
- 8:50Speaker 1: a fun experience. He got to see me in blink
- 8:52Speaker 1: his eyes like four or five time, going Okay, this
- 8:55Speaker 1: dude's crazy. He's a celebrity and fitness and nutrition expert.
- 8:58Speaker 1: That's why I ate lunch with has trained something most
- 9:00Speaker 1: influential celebrities in the world, the certified Personal Trainers also
- 9:04Speaker 1: a TV host, author, writer, motivational speaker, and spokesmodel. He
- 9:09Speaker 1: is the best selling author of the diet and exercise
- 9:11Speaker 1: book The Cut, co author with Hollywood actor Maurice Chestnutt
- 9:15Speaker 1: that came out last April and was a huge seller.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Please Walk with the Money Making Conversations, Obie, what's going
- 9:24Speaker 1: on with man, such a phenomenal intro. I don't even
- 9:28Speaker 1: sound like me? Where is you? So? I went on,
- 9:32Speaker 1: I went the thing about it is that the beauty
- 9:34Speaker 1: of you? Because you really are one of these guys
- 9:37Speaker 1: that kind of annoy me because I say that, because
- 9:40Speaker 1: you don't want to accept your What did I do?
- 9:43Speaker 1: You just went like that? You know that don't seem
- 9:46Speaker 1: like to me? I don't. I don't know who but
- 9:48Speaker 1: that me. I don't really know who that that can't
- 9:52Speaker 1: beat me? That's what. Imagine how horrible it would be
- 9:55Speaker 1: if I looked in the mirror and said, you know
- 9:57Speaker 1: what I sets it? Imagine how horrible it's a lot
- 10:00Speaker 1: of people, A lot of people say that. I like
- 10:03Speaker 1: to be the opposite, you know what I mean, where
- 10:05Speaker 1: people actually say, you know what, it's a nice guy.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something. You can get there. You
- 10:09Speaker 1: can just let that pot barely shine. Brother, You don't
- 10:12Speaker 1: you're so it's some things you can do that you
- 10:14Speaker 1: ain't gotta have that pressure. But if I let that
- 10:17Speaker 1: pot barely shine, my fitness card is gonna be removing,
- 10:20Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I'm not gonna be the
- 10:22Speaker 1: same expert no more. I'm gonna be the same. You know,
- 10:24Speaker 1: he's trying to get there because that's part of you.
- 10:27Speaker 1: That's so you are. You're walking bill Ball absolutely without
- 10:30Speaker 1: a doubt. You know, when you've shot as many magazine
- 10:33Speaker 1: covers and photo shoots that I've done, I put I
- 10:37Speaker 1: did so much of that for so many years that
- 10:40Speaker 1: I don't want to put that stuff out on social
- 10:42Speaker 1: media any more. It's like if you google my name,
- 10:44Speaker 1: it's just like you just see this rip black guy.
- 10:46Speaker 1: So it's um, it's one of those situations where it's
- 10:49Speaker 1: a positive thing, but it could be a negative because
- 10:52Speaker 1: sometimes people won't won't be able to connect to relate
- 10:54Speaker 1: to you as well too. So basically you run into
- 10:57Speaker 1: with a lot of models, run into who were allowing there,
- 11:01Speaker 1: who gained fame through their beauty. You gain fame through
- 11:04Speaker 1: your body and so so so you're trying to define
- 11:08Speaker 1: yourself beyond physicality, absolutely with that of doubt. Now when
- 11:12Speaker 1: I post on social media, I actually am trying to
- 11:15Speaker 1: post less image less images of my body and more
- 11:19Speaker 1: of motivational words and educational content. Once in a while.
- 11:23Speaker 1: It's okay, but I don't want to be that you
- 11:25Speaker 1: know that fitness cat that is eight times, nine times
- 11:29Speaker 1: a day, you know of their abs or their well
- 11:32Speaker 1: I don't do the butt by the way, but but
- 11:35Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It's like, look, your butt
- 11:36Speaker 1: hasn't changed from two seconds ago, and your abs haven't
- 11:39Speaker 1: changed from two minutes ago. So it's a healthy balance
- 11:43Speaker 1: because you don't want to you don't want to get
- 11:46Speaker 1: attain the perception of someone who is absolutely narcissistic and
- 11:50Speaker 1: all you care about is yourself, but you're not trying
- 11:52Speaker 1: to help nobody. Well, I feel fortunate that I was
- 11:55Speaker 1: able to read that book and change my life because
- 11:58Speaker 1: you know, a lot of people look at me going
- 12:00Speaker 1: you didn't need to lose weight. Yes I did, Yes,
- 12:02Speaker 1: I did, because it has caused me to you know,
- 12:06Speaker 1: the change the wardrobe too, because you lose sixteen pod
- 12:09Speaker 1: it does change a lot of things in your especially
- 12:12Speaker 1: your waistline. And then that you know, I lost all
- 12:14Speaker 1: my little behind, whatever little behind I had is gone,
- 12:18Speaker 1: and so she gras back then to leave it alone.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I'm happy I'm not getting it back, okay. And so
- 12:33Speaker 1: those are the things that the conversations that we have.
- 12:35Speaker 1: And so so when you look at the life that
- 12:38Speaker 1: you develop a career that you developed in the celebrity
- 12:41Speaker 1: fitness because you've been on a number of shows. Uh
- 12:44Speaker 1: social media, you're the number one social media influencer in
- 12:48Speaker 1: the world. But there wasn't always social media with you.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Well before social media, you you had to get in
- 12:54Speaker 1: fitness magazines. You had to be able to you had
- 12:56Speaker 1: to be at a right for different fitness sites. If
- 12:59Speaker 1: you weren't on t V and you weren't in magazines,
- 13:01Speaker 1: you didn't exist. I mean, I remember back in the
- 13:04Speaker 1: day flying to a different country all my own dime
- 13:08Speaker 1: just to see if I can get in that magazine,
- 13:11Speaker 1: to create a platform for myself. You know, it was
- 13:13Speaker 1: all about face to face, shaking the person's hand, actually
- 13:17Speaker 1: having some type of personality, that whole feel and touch thing.
- 13:21Speaker 1: So now with social media, you don't have to do
- 13:23Speaker 1: that no more. And also back then it was so
- 13:25Speaker 1: competitive because you had some of the fittest and best
- 13:27Speaker 1: looking people that were competing against you to try to
- 13:30Speaker 1: get in that magazine. And then, by the way, at
- 13:32Speaker 1: that time, they weren't putting black people on covers unless
- 13:35Speaker 1: you were a crossover entertainer. So I had to deal
- 13:38Speaker 1: with that. And when I came in the game, over
- 13:40Speaker 1: ten years ago, they were talking about black covers don't sell,
- 13:43Speaker 1: so I basically most of my my I would said,
- 13:47Speaker 1: the first teen percent of my magazine covers were in Australia,
- 13:50Speaker 1: we're in the UK because they didn't care about that.
- 13:52Speaker 1: And then once I proved that I could sell, and
- 13:54Speaker 1: they gave me an opportunities a writer than the United
- 13:56Speaker 1: than the magazines, and the United States started giving me
- 13:58Speaker 1: the opportunity. So I had success before social media. Social media,
- 14:03Speaker 1: in my opinion, is so much easier because now you
- 14:05Speaker 1: can control your own platform and you can create your
- 14:07Speaker 1: own opportunities. Now magazines are are are hitting up social
- 14:11Speaker 1: media influences. You know what, I want to use your
- 14:13Speaker 1: platform now as opposed to you're going up there and
- 14:15Speaker 1: begging for an opportunity. So it's easier now and it
- 14:18Speaker 1: allows more people to be in the game as opposed
- 14:21Speaker 1: to waiting. And that's why I wanted to bring that up,
- 14:23Speaker 1: because the power or the brand of social media. A
- 14:26Speaker 1: lot of people complain why the Kardashians on so many
- 14:29Speaker 1: magazine because because they say all magazines, there's a saying
- 14:33Speaker 1: and you know this, you can't hate the player, hate
- 14:35Speaker 1: the game. You know you got you know, people can
- 14:38Speaker 1: talk smack about them, but they're destroying it. They're killing it.
- 14:41Speaker 1: When you see an old girl on the cover of
- 14:44Speaker 1: Fortune magazine, Yo, she's she's a she's a player, she's
- 14:48Speaker 1: a major player in the game. You know they're they're
- 14:51Speaker 1: what they've done brandon wise, business wise, their mother being
- 14:54Speaker 1: the manager who's been influential. It's it's genius, absolutely, And
- 14:57Speaker 1: that's why when I talk on this show being an
- 15:00Speaker 1: entrepreneur about a brand, about being able to cross over,
- 15:04Speaker 1: and the thing about it is that but you went
- 15:06Speaker 1: with it, you know, like you wouldn't have get over
- 15:08Speaker 1: there complaining. You say, how can I benefit from this
- 15:11Speaker 1: new format and amount of world how much? How often
- 15:14Speaker 1: do you post and how much time? Because I know
- 15:16Speaker 1: your big format is Twitter. Absolutely surprised doing when when
- 15:21Speaker 1: you're doing the book to Remorse, your Instagram accounts started
- 15:23Speaker 1: taking off absolutely without a doubt. Well, the thing about
- 15:26Speaker 1: it with me was that with with social media, what
- 15:28Speaker 1: I did was I just invested in a a top
- 15:33Speaker 1: social media company that really helped to bring up my
- 15:35Speaker 1: influence on Twitter and social media. I always believe that
- 15:38Speaker 1: what you don't know, just outsource it, you know, as
- 15:41Speaker 1: opposed to going in there and trying to you know,
- 15:43Speaker 1: trying to figure it out and stuff. So, UM, I
- 15:46Speaker 1: understood that. Um. I think the one of the the reasons
- 15:48Speaker 1: why that my influence on Twitter has been so high.
- 15:51Speaker 1: As far as hashtag, I was one of the first
- 15:53Speaker 1: people to use hashtags. Okay, and the social media company
- 15:56Speaker 1: told me these are the most popular hashtags. To do
- 15:59Speaker 1: this every day, and I started to do it and
- 16:01Speaker 1: do it and do it. And after you know, several
- 16:04Speaker 1: years of doing it, the hashtag IFI saying that, you know,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I've attained billions of impressions because I'm consistently using hashtags
- 16:13Speaker 1: and when people go into these hashtags, I'm the first
- 16:15Speaker 1: I'm the first thing that they see, and they're gonna
- 16:18Speaker 1: read my content, you know, And so, um, my engagement
- 16:21Speaker 1: may not be as high, but the analytics show that
- 16:24Speaker 1: people are reading my stuff. So is there a book
- 16:27Speaker 1: in your future? Uh? Well, you know what, That's probably
- 16:31Speaker 1: why I came out here. You put you know, because
- 16:39Speaker 1: I'd say that because you get a book with Mars okay,
- 16:42Speaker 1: And I know that was a that was a unique
- 16:44Speaker 1: experience because he was a celebrity who lost a lot

- 21:29Speaker 1: Please my friends, Welcome to Money Making Code Conversations. Logan Cohen,
- 21:36Speaker 1: thank you for having me. Well, Logan's been a long time.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Been a long time, it has, yes, but but you've
- 21:42Speaker 1: been doing great things. And I saw you was at
- 21:45Speaker 1: South Southwest. I was yes, and I just wanted to
- 21:50Speaker 1: thank you. I mean, we met so long ago and
- 21:53Speaker 1: you were just a huge believer in our mission. So
- 21:55Speaker 1: thank you for listening to us and watching us grow. Well,
- 21:59Speaker 1: here's a good thing about think we may become. I
- 22:01Speaker 1: may be able to help you out with some of
- 22:03Speaker 1: that sponsorship we're gonna talk about there on air. But
- 22:05Speaker 1: also we got to talk about tell everybody about what
- 22:08Speaker 1: could Zoo is as k U d z o O
- 22:11Speaker 1: that app is and why it's so important? Yes? So
- 22:15Speaker 1: could there is a free mobile application for students. We
- 22:19Speaker 1: were really struck by the high mobile usage we all
- 22:22Speaker 1: see use teenagers and really everyone who are just glued
- 22:24Speaker 1: to their phones. And instead of making smartphones this forbidden
- 22:27Speaker 1: fruit that makes kids even want to use it more,
- 22:30Speaker 1: we said, why not focus on some mindful consumption rather
- 22:33Speaker 1: than mind lift. The students get rewarded for kindness but habits,
- 22:37Speaker 1: their grades and attendance with the currency that they could
- 22:40Speaker 1: use to go shopping. Now, now that sounds really clean
- 22:45Speaker 1: for you. Can you break it down a little bit
- 22:46Speaker 1: more when you say being rewarded? Okay, they were a
- 22:50Speaker 1: great attendance. And how do they participate with this app? Yes?
- 22:56Speaker 1: So students can all have the app. You just have
- 22:58Speaker 1: to be thirteen years or older to use it. We
- 23:00Speaker 1: have all the way up to college users and adult
- 23:03Speaker 1: learners too. They downloaded at an Apple App Store, Google
- 23:06Speaker 1: Play Store. They start earning right away. You get one
- 23:08Speaker 1: hundred could do cash just for signing up, and you
- 23:11Speaker 1: use these points that we call could do cash for
- 23:14Speaker 1: rewards like gift cards. We have scholarship information as well.
- 23:17Speaker 1: As once in a lifetime experiences like uh, celebrity meet
- 23:21Speaker 1: and Greece and corporate tours. Okay, how did this idea?
- 23:25Speaker 1: Because everybody has a good idea for that, because when
- 23:28Speaker 1: I met you, um, Dennis brownly introduced me to you,
- 23:32Speaker 1: UM a good friend of mine in New York City,
- 23:36Speaker 1: you guys would probably I think about it, two hundred
- 23:38Speaker 1: and twenty five thousand people that participants. Where are you
- 23:44Speaker 1: at on that number now? Yeah, so we are a
- 23:48Speaker 1: little over half a million students and we are in
- 23:51Speaker 1: all fifty states. So we're really excited about that growth.
- 23:55Speaker 1: And I saw you. I saw you early in the
- 23:58Speaker 1: game for sure. Early in the game, I'm going like,
- 24:08Speaker 1: it's the problem out with your logan. You're just gonna
- 24:10Speaker 1: throw out that half million. I heard you pause too,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I'm about to tell him something you actually like, stop
- 24:17Speaker 1: back and got over half You said five hundred thousand,
- 24:22Speaker 1: you know, because everybody don't know. But when you used
- 24:24Speaker 1: were a half million, that's a whole bigger word. But
- 24:29Speaker 1: so how do you grow from the number I met
- 24:31Speaker 1: you at and you were growing fast then to the
- 24:34Speaker 1: number now? And how do you continue to funding? And
- 24:38Speaker 1: let's talk about that. Why were you are at software
- 24:40Speaker 1: soft by Software. I know what i'mnna tell you why
- 24:42Speaker 1: I got you on the car. First of all, to
- 24:44Speaker 1: promote your brand. Okay, First of all, you're a young entrepreneur.
- 24:47Speaker 1: You're at millennial age group that is so popular, you know,
- 24:51Speaker 1: sol entrepreneurs or entrepreneurs, it's the dominant group to say, look,
- 24:55Speaker 1: I have a vision, I want to explore it. I
- 24:58Speaker 1: want to work for myself. That's who you are. That's
- 25:00Speaker 1: the person I met, that's the person I admire. So
- 25:04Speaker 1: just with this app, how did he get started? How
- 25:07Speaker 1: did it? How did this idea go from I got
- 25:10Speaker 1: this idea to actual application? Well, thank you. Definitely started
- 25:16Speaker 1: with the idea originally from my co founder, Trevor. He
- 25:20Speaker 1: got paid for grades growing up. His parents paid him
- 25:23Speaker 1: for aids, paid him for these, made him pay them
- 25:25Speaker 1: for Caesar below, which is kind of funny. We don't
- 25:29Speaker 1: follow that model, although I think our revenue would look
- 25:32Speaker 1: a lot better if kids were paying us for Teaser below. However,
- 25:36Speaker 1: Trevor's backgrounds and sociology, so he had this great idea
- 25:40Speaker 1: to say, why not reward kids for grades? Uh? And
- 25:43Speaker 1: it struck me and he wound up going to Princeton,
- 25:46Speaker 1: and he said, the kids that he grew up with
- 25:47Speaker 1: in the Chicago South Side where just a smart, if
- 25:50Speaker 1: not smarter than him and his peers. And he wondered
- 25:52Speaker 1: why he got the opportunity when they didn't. So we
- 25:56Speaker 1: met in my backgrounds in finance as well as international business,
- 25:59Speaker 1: and I wrote a the business model for it. So
- 26:01Speaker 1: it was a great Where did you go to school there?
- 26:04Speaker 1: Florida International down in Miami? Okay? Cool? Okay? So how
- 26:07Speaker 1: did you got to get this journey together? So he's
- 26:10Speaker 1: at Princeton, That's where you went to school. You far
- 26:13Speaker 1: to International, He's from Chicago, You're from where Philadelphia? You
- 26:18Speaker 1: guys all over the East Coast, Midwest, you know, down
- 26:22Speaker 1: in Florida going to school. He up there at Princeton.
- 26:26Speaker 1: So how did you guys connect to be able to
- 26:29Speaker 1: start this very innovative app called kold Zoo. I love
- 26:34Speaker 1: this how this story because we here constantly, especially in entrepreneurship,
- 26:37Speaker 1: how important it is defined equality co founder and a
- 26:40Speaker 1: lot of the times perfectionism leads to procrastination. Here people
- 26:43Speaker 1: are constantly looking for that co founder. Trevor and I
- 26:46Speaker 1: met at a Phillies game that neither of us wanted
- 26:48Speaker 1: to be at We're not big baseball fans, but um
- 26:51Speaker 1: mutual friends introduced us. Trevor told me about this idea.
- 26:54Speaker 1: We stayed in touch via just social media Facebook, and
- 26:57Speaker 1: then he told me about this idea of studying for
- 26:59Speaker 1: my masters and the counting, which feels like another life ago.
- 27:02Speaker 1: And then I wrote up the business model and we
- 27:04Speaker 1: started to say, okay, well this gets traction. Let's see
- 27:07Speaker 1: if there's some stickiness. And we piloted with local schools
- 27:10Speaker 1: who are using alpha numeric codes for the rewards. We
- 27:12Speaker 1: kept it simple, um, not because we were that smart,
- 27:15Speaker 1: but we were just that broke, being college students or
- 27:17Speaker 1: recent grads. And then once it started to pick up traction,
- 27:21Speaker 1: we wound up bringing in investment and doing pitch competitions
- 27:24Speaker 1: and grew from there. Wow, that sounds like something that
- 27:28Speaker 1: you really like. You said. They used their words granular.
- 27:30Speaker 1: You really get really authentic with who you because you
- 27:33Speaker 1: said some key things like stem also being able to
- 27:36Speaker 1: identify specifically who that who that potential person who wants
- 27:40Speaker 1: to get engaged with that particular product is involved. So
- 27:44Speaker 1: there's there's a there's a business side, there is a
- 27:47Speaker 1: motivational side, and there is an engagement side that you're
- 27:51Speaker 1: offering with Kodzoo. Correct, correct, definitely cool. I'm on the
- 27:56Speaker 1: phone with the CEO of kod Zoo as an apter ocasion.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Just an app, A very popular app. Over five hundred
- 28:03Speaker 1: thousand or a half million students on the platform and
- 28:07Speaker 1: it's over in over fourty six thousand schools. Logan, I
- 28:10Speaker 1: want to thank you for calling my show, and I
- 28:12Speaker 1: really I admire what you're doing you. I'm a fan,
- 28:15Speaker 1: so when they find I will be. I had my
- 28:18Speaker 1: staff contacting you because I want to get a media
- 28:20Speaker 1: kid from you, a sponsor media kid, so we can
- 28:22Speaker 1: move forward. Okay, already fantastic, Thank you so much for
- 28:26Speaker 1: the opportunity, and we will talk soon. Already just money
- 28:29Speaker 1: making conversations. We'll be back with more. Um, We're always
- 28:33Speaker 1: back with more. That's what we gotta do. I also
- 28:35Speaker 1: to talking about my neck. I got a sponsor. I
- 28:37Speaker 1: got a show sponsor. I'll be talking about that sponsor
- 28:39Speaker 1: in our next break. Thank you Logan for calling my show.

- 31:35Speaker 1: get around young lady, I can tell she leads a
- 31:38Speaker 1: balanced life because of personal interests include ballroom dancing and traveling.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Please welcome to money making Conversation, Terry Dennison, Well, ballroom dance,
- 31:51Speaker 1: we can sell. I wanted to start out with that
- 31:53Speaker 1: because I always talk about a balanced life, because I
- 31:56Speaker 1: always tell people I didn't do that in the past.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Have a clear understanding that I'm a lot happy because
- 32:02Speaker 1: I've realized that vacations matter. I realized that spending time
- 32:06Speaker 1: with my friends matter. I was only driven to be
- 32:08Speaker 1: successful because I was afraid I was intimidating that if
- 32:11Speaker 1: I stopped, if I got off that little wheel, then
- 32:14Speaker 1: I might miss something to say that. You know ballroom
- 32:18Speaker 1: dancing in your resume, I said, I got to talk
- 32:20Speaker 1: about that because I believe you have a clue understanding
- 32:22Speaker 1: about what a balance life needs. Yeah, that's exactly why
- 32:26Speaker 1: I got into the ballroom dancing because I was hitting
- 32:29Speaker 1: the grindstone and didn't really have that balance, and it
- 32:34Speaker 1: was something I always wanted to do and it allows
- 32:36Speaker 1: me to kind of take on a different persona right, right, right,
- 32:40Speaker 1: I didn't getting twirled around and all that. Well, first
- 32:43Speaker 1: of all, you know, I'm the bass here in Georgia's
- 32:46Speaker 1: and on the ballroom floor. As my instructor reminds me,
- 32:50Speaker 1: he's the ball absolutely, So how did you get started
- 32:54Speaker 1: in that? I really, I really want people to know
- 32:56Speaker 1: that balance is important, because my balance now is baking.
- 33:00Speaker 1: You know, I love the bake. I'm a baking app
- 33:03Speaker 1: that I'm associated with called Perfect Bake. I'm featured of
- 33:06Speaker 1: my my baking people. Now we'll see me an airport. Go,
- 33:09Speaker 1: you're the baking guy. That's how popular I've gotten with
- 33:12Speaker 1: my baking. So it's really cool for people to see me,
- 33:16Speaker 1: not the guy with the mad degree, not the guy
- 33:19Speaker 1: with the TV producer, and not the guy who managed
- 33:21Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. For them to say, hey, man, you're really talented.
- 33:25Speaker 1: You're really talented baker. I think that's really fun for
- 33:28Speaker 1: you to get that other associated title as being a
- 33:32Speaker 1: good ballroom answer. Yeah, I, As I mentioned, I did
- 33:36Speaker 1: it because I felt like I needed a balance. I
- 33:39Speaker 1: was talking to a life coach at the time who said, well,
- 33:42Speaker 1: was there something that you always wanted to do that
- 33:45Speaker 1: you haven't gotten around to doing yet. I said, well,
- 33:47Speaker 1: I'd like to take some sauce of lessons, maybe the
- 33:50Speaker 1: little ballroom. She happened to know somebody at the time
- 33:53Speaker 1: who that did that, so they she connected us and
- 33:57Speaker 1: that's how I got started. Awesome. Congratulations, believe me. I'll
- 34:01Speaker 1: say now, travel, what just tell me about the travel
- 34:05Speaker 1: part of your balanced life. Well, I have gone several
- 34:09Speaker 1: places in Europe and in the Caribbean. UM I hope
- 34:12Speaker 1: too in the next year or so to start traveling,
- 34:15Speaker 1: maybe to some of the other continents in South America Africa.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I went to South Africa. Gotta go Johannesburg, Durban. It's
- 34:23Speaker 1: on my list. Uh, it's it's you know. The interesting
- 34:26Speaker 1: thing about travel is that it's because we are only
- 34:29Speaker 1: told what we you know, TIV you can only give
- 34:32Speaker 1: you a certain amount of information and depend on what
- 34:35Speaker 1: Charnel you watch or what or what you can on
- 34:38Speaker 1: to be you could be slanted. I was. My eyes
- 34:40Speaker 1: were so open when I went to h Johannesburg and
- 34:43Speaker 1: Durban because I really didn't think the technology was there.
- 34:46Speaker 1: And I'm not just saying that, I'm I'm not saying
- 34:48Speaker 1: that because I'm being insulting. I just didn't know that.
- 34:52Speaker 1: It was like I was landing in Atlanta, Georgia. It
- 34:54Speaker 1: was like I was landing in Chicago. I did not
- 34:56Speaker 1: expect that because we was doing a live broadcast there
- 34:59Speaker 1: of the Morning Show, and I was worried the technology
- 35:02Speaker 1: would not be available to be able to do a
- 35:04Speaker 1: broadcast back to the United States. And I was totally wrong.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I was totally wrong. And so that's why travel ballroom
- 35:11Speaker 1: dancing ladies and gentlemen. Rushan mcgonald is recommending to you
- 35:15Speaker 1: find something else besides going to work eight or going
- 35:19Speaker 1: to work seven days a week or entrepreneur, you know
- 35:22Speaker 1: you want to be successful, but you also want to
- 35:24Speaker 1: have a balanced life. Now, let's get to the s
- 35:26Speaker 1: b A. What exactly is the SBA, Terry sb A
- 35:30Speaker 1: of course as the US Small Business Administration, and we're
- 35:33Speaker 1: a federal government agency and our mission is to support
- 35:37Speaker 1: the U. S economy through fostering the growth and creation
- 35:41Speaker 1: of small businesses. How that sounds really good? You've been
- 35:46Speaker 1: doing this since two thousand two, okay, in the state
- 35:48Speaker 1: of Georgia. Okay, I'm a young guy. I got an
- 35:51Speaker 1: idea for a business. Should I just come to you first?
- 35:54Speaker 1: Or that's too early in the game that you don't
- 35:56Speaker 1: want to hear me coming in the pitching ide business ideas? Right?
- 35:59Speaker 1: How how did I come to you, meaning the s
- 36:02Speaker 1: b A with my entrepreneur my small business idea. There's
- 36:07Speaker 1: a couple of ways. First, you can, of course, go
- 36:10Speaker 1: to our website, which is uh SBA dot gov here
- 36:14Speaker 1: in Georgia. It's for its last g A to see
- 36:17Speaker 1: specifically what we have going on in terms of training
- 36:20Speaker 1: and counseling resources. What we will normally advise people to
- 36:25Speaker 1: do is to go to one of our resource partners
- 36:27Speaker 1: such as SCORE, which is our volunteer partner organization. Okay,
- 36:31Speaker 1: let's talk about SCORE, because SCORE is experience. There's just
- 36:35Speaker 1: like a many people have been in business or former
- 36:38Speaker 1: small business owners, retired people who want to mentor you correct, correct, Okay,
- 36:44Speaker 1: let's just let's expand on that, because what I want
- 36:46Speaker 1: to do. First of all, I want to thank you
- 36:47Speaker 1: for coming on my show. I feel that I established
- 36:50Speaker 1: this relationship in Houston, Texas, with with Tim and the
- 36:53Speaker 1: SBA in the state of Texas, and I feel it's
- 36:56Speaker 1: important because a lot of people miss out because they
- 36:59Speaker 1: don't know, and I didn't know, and I actually I
- 37:03Speaker 1: thought I knew about the s b A when I
- 37:05Speaker 1: opened my comedy club back inwo I went to the
- 37:09Speaker 1: SBA in Houston, Texas, but I didn't even take advantage
- 37:12Speaker 1: of the loan opportunity, of the mentoring opportunity. I just
- 37:15Speaker 1: went in got what I needed. And I should have
- 37:18Speaker 1: stayed and allowed these people to probably help me get
- 37:22Speaker 1: over some pumps I shouldn't have been getting over and
- 37:24Speaker 1: probably have smoothed my transition to a much more successful plan.
- 37:28Speaker 1: And I'm not saying I wasn't successful, but I was
- 37:30Speaker 1: learning the jaw a lot more than I should have been.
- 37:33Speaker 1: So with that being said, Score, how does that help
- 37:36Speaker 1: me as a young as A as A as A
- 37:38Speaker 1: as a an established business or our startup? What SCORE
- 37:42Speaker 1: works with both startup and established? Uh? They are existing
- 37:47Speaker 1: business owners as well as business owners, and they have
- 37:51Speaker 1: that wealth of real world, firsthand experience on what it
- 37:57Speaker 1: takes to grow, to start and grow the business. They
- 38:00Speaker 1: can be that objective extra pair of eyes and ears
- 38:05Speaker 1: uh too as you share your ideal what it is
- 38:07Speaker 1: you want to do, to see if that's feasible. Okay, cool.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Now with that being said, I you know my whole thing.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I'm African American and I always try to because we
- 38:19Speaker 1: are always the underserved community, the last to get information
- 38:21Speaker 1: or just ignore the information. And so is that true
- 38:24Speaker 1: in the case of the SPA, that that that more
- 38:27Speaker 1: African American and more minority and more people of colors
- 38:30Speaker 1: should be taking advantage of the services. Well, I definitely,
- 38:34Speaker 1: and I think we've done. We've made a lot of
- 38:37Speaker 1: roads in roads over the last couple of decades and
- 38:40Speaker 1: trying to hit all the segments of the small business community. Okay,
- 38:44Speaker 1: because women are definitely the growing small business the entrepreneur.
- 38:49Speaker 1: The female populations is like exploding right now. Cou in
- 38:52Speaker 1: fact here at Georgia. I think Georgia is like the
- 38:55Speaker 1: fourth of fifth fastest growing women business population. That's important,
- 39:01Speaker 1: and that's important. Why is that? Why Why would you
- 39:03Speaker 1: say that it's just it's just a level of independence
- 39:06Speaker 1: now or just a just a just a curiosity saying
- 39:09Speaker 1: we can do it, and we can we can make
- 39:10Speaker 1: it happen. Well, I think it's a matter of because
- 39:12Speaker 1: like you you, like you mentioned, it's because women accepted
- 39:16Speaker 1: and embracing the fact that this is an option for
- 39:18Speaker 1: them and they're you know, taking advantage of that. He's interesting.
- 39:23Speaker 1: An interesting fact that I got to say about the
- 39:25Speaker 1: from the s b A puts our Office of Advocacy,
- 39:29Speaker 1: the about businesses fail or closed before their fifth year.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Only about a third make it to ten years. What
- 39:39Speaker 1: do you see as some of the common factors behind
- 39:42Speaker 1: these stats? That's that's that's that's pretty scary. I think
- 39:47Speaker 1: some of it is, Like I mentioned earlier, the concept
- 39:50Speaker 1: itself in the beginning was not feasible. A lot of
- 39:54Speaker 1: times people kind of set their business in motion like
- 39:59Speaker 1: an old fashioned top. For those of us who remember
- 40:01Speaker 1: to pull, pull the string and just let it go,
- 40:05Speaker 1: and we don't go back to tend to the idea
- 40:08Speaker 1: and see how the market has evolved and changed, how
- 40:11Speaker 1: the competitors, what they're doing, What are some of the
- 40:14Speaker 1: industry changes that impact that business. And so what happened
- 40:18Speaker 1: is you slowly by slowly, slow and slowly, bit by
- 40:22Speaker 1: bit become uh obsolete without even necessarily knowing until it's
- 40:28Speaker 1: too late. Also keeping too narrow. And I say that
- 40:32Speaker 1: because here's the deal. If you're gonna open the business,
- 40:35Speaker 1: I understand you need parking. Okay, a lot of people
- 40:38Speaker 1: forget that. They did. They think it didn't open that
- 40:40Speaker 1: people can park anywhere. Guess what other people are competing
- 40:42Speaker 1: for those same spaces. And so when I that was
- 40:45Speaker 1: one of the main things I want to make sure
- 40:46Speaker 1: people understand. But it's secondly that the SBA has a
- 40:50Speaker 1: friendly face, and then they want to help. They want
- 40:53Speaker 1: you to win. There are no gimmicks down there, your
- 40:56Speaker 1: officers about supplying people of information, and it's really important
- 40:59Speaker 1: that they they understand that, they believe that. And I
- 41:02Speaker 1: just want to be one of the vorces that continue
- 41:04Speaker 1: to push the word out and let's say every three March.
- 41:06Speaker 1: If you have time, come on my show. So we
- 41:09Speaker 1: keep putting it that maybe you can show me how
- 41:10Speaker 1: to start a couple of little ballroom dancing steps. But
- 41:13Speaker 1: other than that, we're gonna dance our way to the
- 41:15Speaker 1: S B A and we're gonna party, and we're gonna
- 41:18Speaker 1: get some loans, we're gonna get some information, gonna meet
- 41:20Speaker 1: for the score, and we're gonna win. Terry, thank you
- 41:22Speaker 1: for coming on my Showasure be right back with more

- 43:31Speaker 1: about career planning, motivation, financial literacy, and how they lead
- 43:36Speaker 1: a balanced life. And the person I'm about the introducing
- 43:38Speaker 1: now next is the person who leads a balanced life
- 43:41Speaker 1: and I consider a very good friend that we've known
- 43:44Speaker 1: many many years. My next guest is Billboard Magazine Gospel
- 43:47Speaker 1: Artists of the last decade. She's a five time Grammy
- 43:51Speaker 1: Award winning artists who believes that her music heals, encourages,
- 43:55Speaker 1: and inspires others to trust more than themselves. That's important
- 43:58Speaker 1: because we're gonna talk about Rosie McDonald when it comes
- 44:00Speaker 1: to that. She was recently seeing performing on The American
- 44:04Speaker 1: Isold finally with former contestant Michael Wadard. She's a single mom.
- 44:08Speaker 1: We're gonna talk about that entrepreneur with the Simply Your
- 44:12Speaker 1: Landa skin care line and wake Up Your Wake Up
- 44:15Speaker 1: with Your Lunda coffee line, and she also has a
- 44:17Speaker 1: handbag line. We're gonna talk about that, as always used
- 44:19Speaker 1: an entrepreneur, Please walk with the money, make conversations your
- 44:22Speaker 1: landa Adams, Hey, there a lot to talk to me
- 44:27Speaker 1: before I introduced you. Huh, yeah, I know. You know,
- 44:30Speaker 1: when you never realize how much you're actually doing until
- 44:34Speaker 1: somebody reads what you're actually doing and it's like, Wow,
- 44:38Speaker 1: you're doing a lot, ma'am. And you are. And I
- 44:40Speaker 1: think that's important that people recognize that because of the
- 44:43Speaker 1: fact that, you know, we're in an interesting time when
- 44:45Speaker 1: it comes to females of the me to step up
- 44:48Speaker 1: acknowledge your success. And it's and it's wonderful because you
- 44:52Speaker 1: have a young daughter who's going off to Howard University
- 44:54Speaker 1: campus with these value systems and social media. She follows
- 44:58Speaker 1: in that age group of a little bit below millennial,
- 45:01Speaker 1: but she's a millennial and she's about to target herself
- 45:03Speaker 1: for success. She wants to be an entrepreneur. How do
- 45:06Speaker 1: you balance doing the right things for yourself as well
- 45:10Speaker 1: as for your daughter with all these aspirations that maybe
- 45:14Speaker 1: too much too fast, but you can't stop her from dreaming. Well,
- 45:18Speaker 1: here's the thing. You never want to stop anyone from dreaming.
- 45:22Speaker 1: You know, you and I both know the value of
- 45:24Speaker 1: a dream because what happens with a dream, it becomes,
- 45:28Speaker 1: you know, a full on idea, It becomes a full purpose,
- 45:32Speaker 1: It becomes your motivation most of the time when you
- 45:36Speaker 1: don't have motivation surrounding you, So you gotta you gotta
- 45:40Speaker 1: keep dreaming no matter what. But the other thing, too,
- 45:44Speaker 1: is you gotta plan. And that's one of the things
- 45:46Speaker 1: that you know, you taught me years for years. You know,
- 45:50Speaker 1: you've got to plan for your success. It's not enough
- 45:55Speaker 1: to say I want, I want, I want. There are
- 45:57Speaker 1: a lot of people who want it to be. Let's
- 46:00Speaker 1: to say, as good as Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant
- 46:02Speaker 1: or Lebron James, but they wanted but didn't have the
- 46:07Speaker 1: desire and the inner strength to do something about it.
- 46:11Speaker 1: You don't become a Michael Jordan's without spending five hours
- 46:15Speaker 1: a day on a basketball court, just don't. You don't
- 46:19Speaker 1: become a Serena or a Venus without spending five days
- 46:22Speaker 1: on a tennis court. So if you're talking about business,
- 46:25Speaker 1: you don't become a Rashawn McDonald's, Steve Harvey and Oprah Winfrey,
- 46:30Speaker 1: Tyler Perry without investigating and investing in yourself that's important.
- 46:36Speaker 1: So so when she comes to you because you a
- 46:38Speaker 1: little bit, like I was sing, a single daughter. She's
- 46:41Speaker 1: in college, I think two years older than your daughter,
- 46:44Speaker 1: and so I'm I'm famous behind the camera, you're visually famous.
- 46:50Speaker 1: How does that affect your decision making when you comes
- 46:53Speaker 1: to raising your child and also your decision making in general,
- 46:57Speaker 1: because you know, people can see you going a restaurant,
- 47:00Speaker 1: they can see you go in this particular story, they
- 47:01Speaker 1: can see the type of clothes that you wear. Does
- 47:03Speaker 1: that does that impact what you do in everyday life? Well,
- 47:07Speaker 1: it always has, even before the Grammys, even before all
- 47:11Speaker 1: of the accolades, because I was raised by parents who
- 47:14Speaker 1: said that your behavior will tell the world exactly who
- 47:19Speaker 1: you are, right, and so we should say that. Give
- 47:23Speaker 1: people a little bit background when you say your your
- 47:25Speaker 1: the church, let's go and go back to the church,
- 47:28Speaker 1: when you were saying, well, before I go to the church. Parents,
- 47:32Speaker 1: because my mother, my father, my grandmother, grandfather's uh, they
- 47:37Speaker 1: all instilled certain values in us. Number one, we we
- 47:41Speaker 1: are the best there is, but we're not better than
- 47:45Speaker 1: anybody else. And when I say that, it's you know,
- 47:49Speaker 1: you don't put your nose down on anyone, whether it's
- 47:52Speaker 1: the janitor or the CEO, because one day the janitor
- 47:56Speaker 1: may turn into the CEO. So you you respect and
- 48:02Speaker 1: love people. So that's why it's not hard for me
- 48:05Speaker 1: to hug folks when they come up to me. And
- 48:07Speaker 1: so what my mother and my father taught us is
- 48:10Speaker 1: that when you when you desire to do something, do
- 48:17Speaker 1: it the best of your ability. If you can't do
- 48:19Speaker 1: any better than you've done, then hey, that's okay. But
- 48:23Speaker 1: if you have better in you, you better do it,
- 48:26Speaker 1: and you better represent this house. And when you walk
- 48:29Speaker 1: outside this house, you better look like you're an atom.
- 48:32Speaker 1: You better sound like you're an atom, and you better
- 48:34Speaker 1: act like you're in if you don't. If you don't,
- 48:39Speaker 1: you're gonna hear from us when you come when you
- 48:42Speaker 1: come home. So it started when I was a kid.
- 48:45Speaker 1: You know the way I present myself. Never go into
- 48:48Speaker 1: an environment without knowing what environment I'm walking into. I
- 48:52Speaker 1: never go into a room of amazing people without knowing
- 48:55Speaker 1: what those accomplishments of those amazing people. And it just
- 48:59Speaker 1: comes from that. My dad was an entrepreneur himself, while
- 49:03Speaker 1: he was coaching, while he was teaching history, while he
- 49:07Speaker 1: was doing all of that while he was getting his
- 49:08Speaker 1: master's with having five kids. You know, you it's there's
- 49:13Speaker 1: just this level of achievement that's in us. It's in eight.
- 49:17Speaker 1: So if I if I you know, if I walk
- 49:19Speaker 1: into a room and I'm like and I looked all down,
- 49:23Speaker 1: like I'm not expected to be there. You know, when
- 49:26Speaker 1: I walk into a room, I expect people to gravitate
- 49:30Speaker 1: towards me. Not because I'm Alonda Adams, a gospel artist,
- 49:33Speaker 1: but because I'm Alonda Adams a humanitarian. Wow. Now here's
- 49:37Speaker 1: there's the interesting thing about your land the Aldam I'm
- 49:40Speaker 1: going back to Elonda album the Gospel Artist before we
- 49:42Speaker 1: get to humanitarian. Okay, because you know Michael Jordan when
- 49:45Speaker 1: he goes on the basketball court, you know he just
- 49:47Speaker 1: looked at everybody, go you know, I'm Michael Jordan's Now
- 49:51Speaker 1: you're on American Island. You know, just just you lock down.
- 49:54Speaker 1: This is just your arena, this is your room. How
- 49:57Speaker 1: do you feel because you know you can blow, you know,
- 49:59Speaker 1: you get carried up to the next level of them
- 50:02Speaker 1: notes As far as confidence, how did you balance that
- 50:06Speaker 1: You're knowing that you've God has given you and blessed
- 50:09Speaker 1: you with an incredible singing ability. But it has to
- 50:12Speaker 1: be a certain a motel. I don't want to say arrogance,
- 50:14Speaker 1: but confidence when you walk out there, you have to
- 50:17Speaker 1: have confidence and arrogance are two different things. Confidence is
- 50:21Speaker 1: knowing that you have prepared yourself for the journey, You've
- 50:24Speaker 1: prepared yourself for the assignment, you are prepared for television, radio,
- 50:29Speaker 1: whatever it is. Arrogance is I got this by myself.
- 50:36Speaker 1: So you've got to differentiate between the two. And you know,
- 50:40Speaker 1: sometimes people may see your confidence as arrogance because they
- 50:45Speaker 1: don't know the difference between the two. Well, I definitely
- 50:49Speaker 1: know the difference. I definitely understand that at times, you know,
- 50:52Speaker 1: you don't want to brag, no, not at all. You
- 50:55Speaker 1: just let your you let your talent and uh, you know,
- 50:59Speaker 1: and what is on the inside of you just shine
- 51:02Speaker 1: through and nobody can ever doubt talent. That's true. That's
- 51:06Speaker 1: true to say that, because every time I see you,
- 51:09Speaker 1: whether it was a celebration or gospel, like on the
- 51:12Speaker 1: American Ice started doing the singing the national anthem, I
- 51:16Speaker 1: just go, she knows she could, she know she can blow.
- 51:22Speaker 1: You know. It's just like when I see Lebron Jay,
- 51:23Speaker 1: I know lebron Ja. He's the best basketball player on
- 51:25Speaker 1: the court, and so he doesn't he doesn't have to
- 51:29Speaker 1: say it, but I know, Wow, that's the guy I
- 51:31Speaker 1: want on my team. And so if I'm putting together
- 51:33Speaker 1: a singing squaw, a singing squaw, you know, and you
- 51:38Speaker 1: know you want to pick a basketball team, you go,
- 51:39Speaker 1: I want I want that, dude, I want her. I
- 51:41Speaker 1: want here. You know, you know she first come over
- 51:47Speaker 1: trying to do that because the acknowledgement of what you
- 51:50Speaker 1: do is so incredible, and you don't get these accolades,
- 51:53Speaker 1: these accords because of the fact that you are people
- 51:56Speaker 1: just like you. It's because it's a competitive world. And
- 51:59Speaker 1: sometimes I have to that back when you're mentioned five Grammys,
- 52:02Speaker 1: you know, you gotta we kind of forget, and I
- 52:05Speaker 1: I felt I became a victim of that too, because
- 52:08Speaker 1: your past, if what makes your presence and will will
- 52:10Speaker 1: dictate your future definitely, if you forget that success, are
- 52:14Speaker 1: you just kind of like humble enough to say, you
- 52:16Speaker 1: know it was are the blessings And I'm respectful for
- 52:18Speaker 1: those moments. I was just letting you know, in this
- 52:20Speaker 1: first break, I want to just talk about a lot
- 52:22Speaker 1: of Adams and then pack you did you did you
- 52:25Speaker 1: have on the community and let people here that that
- 52:28Speaker 1: school teacher that's in that natural school teacher in your
- 52:32Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know the educational side of
- 52:35Speaker 1: you that has benefited so many people, not only on stage,
- 52:39Speaker 1: but also, like you said, the humanitarian side of you.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Now let me this. How does want to purchase your products?
- 52:47Speaker 1: We're talking about the coffee and we're talking about that's
- 52:49Speaker 1: wake up with you land the right. Yes, well you
- 52:52Speaker 1: can go to the Landa Adams Live dot com and
- 52:54Speaker 1: that will send you everywhere. We are about to do
- 52:58Speaker 1: a big, big push on Amazon within the next within
- 53:01Speaker 1: the next three weeks. Yeah, we're gonna have commercials. We're
- 53:05Speaker 1: gonna have all kinds of stuff, and also you're gonna
- 53:08Speaker 1: be able to purchase everything from the skincare to the
- 53:13Speaker 1: coffee to the handbag line. I mean, we have, we are.
- 53:18Speaker 1: We're just so excited. You know, God never puts people
- 53:22Speaker 1: in your path for you not to learn something from them.
- 53:25Speaker 1: I've learned so much from you about not giving up
- 53:28Speaker 1: just because one door closed. There you go, there you go. Now,
- 53:31Speaker 1: let's tell you something. I want to thank you for that.
- 53:33Speaker 1: And I wonder I appreciate it because of the fact
- 53:35Speaker 1: that I always believe that if you have a plan
- 53:40Speaker 1: and you do it consistently, then then everybody will understand
- 53:43Speaker 1: that you live, you walk a different path. I see.
- 53:46Speaker 1: The inconsistency is when people will say you're done, I'll
- 53:50Speaker 1: say that you, oh, you're not ahead of the curve anymore.
- 53:53Speaker 1: When I see you on the American Island, I go,
- 53:55Speaker 1: that's my girl. Yeah, because that's a brand bill, that's WHOA,
- 53:59Speaker 1: that's your lot. Because you got to stay out there
- 54:01Speaker 1: in the front, in front of the ignorance. I always
- 54:03Speaker 1: say my staff away, you want to stay ahead of
- 54:06Speaker 1: the ignorance. You stay ahead of the ignorance. Guess what
- 54:08Speaker 1: ignorance will recognize you and tell you that you're you're
- 54:12Speaker 1: you're a champion, that you really are. And when I
- 54:14Speaker 1: think about what you're doing with this, you gotta make
- 54:17Speaker 1: sure I'm a part of the Amazon launch. That's what
- 54:20Speaker 1: relationships are about. Don't don't don't let me slip past
- 54:23Speaker 1: this and like, have me a commercial or put it
- 54:26Speaker 1: in because I got I got a little fan club
- 54:28Speaker 1: now two and forty thou members. I will send it out.
- 54:32Speaker 1: I will send out your notice to say click here
- 54:35Speaker 1: and buy, you know, put on social media money making
- 54:38Speaker 1: conversation platform. That that's what this show is all about.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Conversation is about giving friends, family, mentor Ritise the opportunity
- 54:47Speaker 1: to come on my show and a lot of their
- 54:49Speaker 1: brand to be shopped, talked about, discussed, and also give
- 54:52Speaker 1: the information to other people that they can win too.
- 54:55Speaker 1: That's the big is the key right there. My succes
- 55:00Speaker 1: sess is not just for me and Taylor or my family.
- 55:04Speaker 1: My success is for that young man or that young
- 55:06Speaker 1: lady who says I don't know if I can do this.
- 55:10Speaker 1: My success is for someone who has been trying for
- 55:14Speaker 1: years and they're saying, well, you know, I know this
- 55:18Speaker 1: idea is great, but nobody's listening to me. I gave
- 55:23Speaker 1: an interview to Black Enterprise last year and I said,
- 55:28Speaker 1: I have the privilege because some people would see it
- 55:31Speaker 1: as a downfall or as you know, a you know
- 55:36Speaker 1: something that that's like an obstacle. But I had the
- 55:39Speaker 1: privilege of being told no at least four times. And
- 55:45Speaker 1: the thing about no is that it's not permanent. No
- 55:50Speaker 1: just indicates that that person or that company or that
- 55:54Speaker 1: bank or that uh financial person is not the person
- 55:58Speaker 1: that's supposed to be in relationship with you, because you
- 56:01Speaker 1: already know money is a relationship and money can change.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Money can change people's attitudes towards you. Well, all is
- 56:11Speaker 1: that your London Live dot com go there? Three weeks.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Three weeks, You're gonna be sending me commercials and I'm
- 56:19Speaker 1: gonna put them in my newsletter and I'm gonna send
- 56:21Speaker 1: it opecifically for your brand. You know, his family, that's
- 56:24Speaker 1: how you treat family. And you tell your daughter a
- 56:27Speaker 1: shout out or how University campus, all of how University people,
- 56:31Speaker 1: you know, she's uh you graduate of Texas University, correct,
- 56:36Speaker 1: HBCU school. She's a legend graduate and I did my
- 56:41Speaker 1: did my master's study at Howard University. That word team.
- 56:45Speaker 1: I want to thank you Linda Adams for being on
