- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Verdict with Ted Cruz Ben Ferguson with
- 0:04Speaker 1: you as well today. So nice to have you with
- 0:06Speaker 1: a senator. I know you're really excited about this idea
- 0:11Speaker 1: that was put out there a couple of days ago
- 0:14Speaker 1: entitled in the Atlantic, let's declare a pandemic amnesty and
- 0:19Speaker 1: let's focus on the future and fix the problems that
- 0:22Speaker 1: we still need to solve. I'm not buying it. I'm
- 0:26Speaker 1: not going forward. Maybe you want to do this, but
- 0:29Speaker 1: I say I have two words in response, Hell no.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Look that this is, you know, a leftist writing this
- 0:39Speaker 1: article saying, let's just forgive and forget everything that happened
- 0:42Speaker 1: on COVID. It's all okay now. And it actually that article,
- 0:47Speaker 1: in turn, was then tweeted out by Randy Weingarten, who
- 0:51Speaker 1: is the you know, the head of one of the
- 0:52Speaker 1: big teachers unions, and she said, I agree, we ought
- 0:56Speaker 1: to have a COVID amnesty. And they basically what she's
- 1:00Speaker 1: saying is okay, Look, my policies were an absolute disaster.
- 1:05Speaker 1: They hurt tens of millions of kids. Because I was
- 1:08Speaker 1: a shameless partisan hack, I got Democrats and the Biden
- 1:12Speaker 1: White House to support school closures for over a year.
- 1:17Speaker 1: We now have national reading scores. We now have national
- 1:21Speaker 1: writing or math scores that our kids scores have plummeted
- 1:27Speaker 1: because Democrats shut down schools, because the teachers Union and
- 1:33Speaker 1: Randy Weingarten in particular pushed it. We also know that
- 1:37Speaker 1: the racial gap, the gap and test scores between black
- 1:41Speaker 1: kids and white kids grew by the largest amount in
- 1:45Speaker 1: the last year of any time in history. All of
- 1:49Speaker 1: that was predictable, And it wasn't just predictable, it was predicted.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Many of us, myself included, were screaming from the mountaintops
- 2:00Speaker 1: when this was happening last year. In the middle of
- 2:02Speaker 1: the school shutdowns, I forced vote after vote after vote
- 2:07Speaker 1: to try to stop it. I forced to vote on
- 2:09Speaker 1: the Senate floor to cut off new funds to schools
- 2:13Speaker 1: if they were still shut down. Every single Democrat voted no.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Just a couple of months ago, I forced to vote
- 2:21Speaker 1: on the Senate floor to stop the District of Columbia
- 2:24Speaker 1: schools from enforcing a COVID vaccine mandate, which would result
- 2:30Speaker 1: in throwing out of school twenty percent of the kids
- 2:33Speaker 1: and forty percent of the African American kids. Once again,
- 2:37Speaker 1: every Democrat voted no after two years of unbelievably abusive
- 2:44Speaker 1: policies and abusive policies running the gamut from shutdowns that
- 2:48Speaker 1: destroyed stores and small businesses and jobs to people being
- 2:55Speaker 1: fired for making their own choices about whether or not
- 2:58Speaker 1: to take the COVID vaccine, to shutting down schools and
- 3:01Speaker 1: damaging kids in all likelihood for the rest of their
- 3:06Speaker 1: lives with the educational loss that was inflicted. These democrats
- 3:10Speaker 1: now want everyone just forgive and forget. Never mind they
- 3:13Speaker 1: ignored welfare. I don't think anyone's willing to do so.
- 3:17Speaker 1: And we've talked about why this election is going to
- 3:21Speaker 1: be such a big red wave. This is a big
- 3:23Speaker 1: part of it. People are furious. People who are not
- 3:26Speaker 1: engaged in politics are furious about the policies these petty
- 3:30Speaker 1: tyrants put in place that hurt them, and the idea
- 3:33Speaker 1: that there should be no accountability that is absolutely wrong.
- 3:37Speaker 1: When we take the majority, there needs to be real accountability.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I don't want a COVID amnesty. I want everyone who
- 3:43Speaker 1: hurt people and did so because of politics, I want
- 3:47Speaker 1: them to be held accountable for those decisions. You know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: there's some decision, Senator that obviously we should learn from, right,
- 3:54Speaker 1: mistakes that were genuine mistakes early on in the pandemic
- 3:57Speaker 1: that we would learn from. But as you mentioned, many
- 4:01Speaker 1: of the mistakes that were made were one hundred percent
- 4:03Speaker 1: a political decision where people got drunk on power. People
- 4:08Speaker 1: decided that their lives and their livelihoods they should get
- 4:12Speaker 1: paid from working from home. They didn't want to educate kids.
- 4:15Speaker 1: They didn't look at the harm they were doing to children.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And that's the part we should never say, you know,
- 4:22Speaker 1: let's just hit pause and move on from We need
- 4:24Speaker 1: to make sure there's accountability so that never happens again.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Because even right now, we have seen Democratic candidates running
- 4:31Speaker 1: in different parts of country over the last week who
- 4:34Speaker 1: have said they would even remask children. This happened in
- 4:37Speaker 1: Florida recently. One of the Democrats said, Hey, I will
- 4:41Speaker 1: listen to the scientists. They tell me to remask the
- 4:43Speaker 1: kids in the schools, I'll do it. Well. One of
- 4:47Speaker 1: the things we learned is that many of our institutions
- 4:51Speaker 1: have become hopelessly politicized and rendered corrupt. You know, you
- 4:55Speaker 1: look at someone like Anthony Fauci, who has described self says,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I am science, I am body science. When people are
- 5:05Speaker 1: criticizing me, they are criticizing science. That number one, delusional
- 5:14Speaker 1: grandeur is really bizarre. But number two, I don't know
- 5:18Speaker 1: of an individual in modern times who has done more
- 5:24Speaker 1: to lessen the credibility of scientists and doctors and the
- 5:29Speaker 1: medical institutions that out anthy Fauci because he deliberately said
- 5:33Speaker 1: things he knew were lies, and he's admitted he knew
- 5:35Speaker 1: they were lies. He said, at first, mass don't work.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Then he said, you gotta use him, and he went
- 5:40Speaker 1: back and forth and back and forth. He insisted, No,
- 5:43Speaker 1: the COVID virus was not did not escape from the
- 5:47Speaker 1: Wuhan Institute of Virology. It did not escape from the lab.
- 5:50Speaker 1: It was not man made. Then oh well maybe it did. No,
- 5:54Speaker 1: the US government did not fund gain a function research
- 5:58Speaker 1: that may well have created did the COVID virus in
- 6:02Speaker 1: that Chinese lab? Then the NIH puts out, well, yes,
- 6:05Speaker 1: we actually did fund that research. The repeated lies and
- 6:10Speaker 1: also the correspondence that has come out between the Biden
- 6:14Speaker 1: administration and the teachers unions where the teachers unions were
- 6:18Speaker 1: the ones who drove the school shutdown. It wasn't based
- 6:21Speaker 1: on studies about infection and kids. It wasn't based on
- 6:26Speaker 1: on fatality rates, which we know that that the COVID
- 6:30Speaker 1: virus was much much, much less serious among kids that
- 6:35Speaker 1: it was with the very elderlier people with severe additional
- 6:39Speaker 1: health issues. It wasn't science at all. It was a
- 6:43Speaker 1: political decision, and I got to say, going forward, we're
- 6:47Speaker 1: going to need to talk about you know, we will
- 6:50Speaker 1: have some other health crisis at some point in our lifetimes,
- 6:53Speaker 1: and it could be, you know, last time it was COVID,
- 6:57Speaker 1: maybe next time it's you know, God forbid, something like
- 6:59Speaker 1: a bowl or something something that you know, really horrific
- 7:04Speaker 1: our institutions now, I don't know what the answer is
- 7:09Speaker 1: how you actually get an institution to focus on science
- 7:15Speaker 1: once it's been politicized, and I think the damage that
- 7:18Speaker 1: was done it may be permanent. I worry that it's permanent. Senator,
- 7:23Speaker 1: because there's so many people now that if there is
- 7:25Speaker 1: something that happens in the future that maybe is less complicated,
- 7:28Speaker 1: maybe much more straightforward, are just not going to trust
- 7:32Speaker 1: the health officials of the United States government. And the
- 7:35Speaker 1: reason why is because the way that they try to
- 7:38Speaker 1: divide this nation to two groups of people. And I
- 7:40Speaker 1: want to play a clip of fauci for you in
- 7:42Speaker 1: a moment. Before I do that, I want to remind

- 8:57Speaker 1: It's nine seven two Patriot promo code Verdict Centator. I
- 9:01Speaker 1: want you to listen to and this is just a
- 9:03Speaker 1: reminder of how Faucci wanted to divide this country into
- 9:07Speaker 1: two groups of people. This was last Christmas. He said this.
- 9:11Speaker 1: If someone in your family isn't vaccinated, she asked them
- 9:14Speaker 1: not to show up. Oh yes, I would do that.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I mean, I think we're dealing with a serious enough
- 9:20Speaker 1: situation right now that if there's an unvaccinated person, I
- 9:24Speaker 1: would say I'm very sorry. But not this time. Maybe
- 9:27Speaker 1: another time when this is all over. Centator. That wasn't
- 9:30Speaker 1: based in science. That was based in dividing this country
- 9:33Speaker 1: into two groups of people. You're either with us and
- 9:35Speaker 1: a vaccinated individual that is indoctrinated by the government, or
- 9:38Speaker 1: you're an outcast in an outlier in society where you're
- 9:41Speaker 1: not welcome. Yeah. Look, these people got drunk on power,
- 9:46Speaker 1: and Fauci was the drunkest of all, and it was
- 9:50Speaker 1: whatever he decreed. Now, mind you, we also saw the
- 9:53Speaker 1: videos of him going to the Nationals game and happily
- 9:56Speaker 1: taking his mask off right when he was ordering everyone else,
- 9:59Speaker 1: you must where you're ask at all times. Listen that
- 10:02Speaker 1: the hypocrisy Senate Democrats, routinely behind closed doors when they
- 10:07Speaker 1: were insisting everyone must be masks to show their virtue,
- 10:11Speaker 1: would take their masks off and they would yuck it up,
- 10:13Speaker 1: and it was no big deal, you know. I remember,
- 10:17Speaker 1: I remember going to Bob Dole's funeral, and Bob Doo's
- 10:20Speaker 1: funeral was in the National Cathedral in DC, and I
- 10:24Speaker 1: went and I was sitting with other senators and I
- 10:26Speaker 1: didn't wear my mask because I was idiotic, It was stupid,
- 10:30Speaker 1: and I was one of very very few people who
- 10:34Speaker 1: didn't wear their masks. All the other senators, all the
- 10:37Speaker 1: d's were ostentatiously wearing their masks, and sadly, most of
- 10:40Speaker 1: the Republicans were wearing masks as well. And the corporate
- 10:44Speaker 1: media had a field day saying, you know, Cruiz is
- 10:48Speaker 1: endangering the lives of his fellow senators, how dare he
- 10:53Speaker 1: do this? Now here's the ridiculous part. Ben the senators
- 10:58Speaker 1: all rode to that funeral in a bus together. We
- 11:01Speaker 1: rowed back in a bus together, in the bus. Everyone
- 11:06Speaker 1: took their mask off, one hundred percent, Every Democrat, every Republican, nobody,
- 11:11Speaker 1: not a person had their mask on in the bus.
- 11:15Speaker 1: When the bus arrives and their TV cameras suddenly, the
- 11:18Speaker 1: senators all dutifully put on their mask, and I'm like,
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry. There is no science that justifies that it
- 11:26Speaker 1: is more dangerous in a cathedral where the roof is
- 11:29Speaker 1: seventy feet high than it is in a closed in
- 11:32Speaker 1: bus where I'm sitting next to senators Democrats with no mask.
- 11:36Speaker 1: But once a TV cameras there, then the virtue is strong.
- 11:39Speaker 1: This was always about power. There's a question that I
- 11:44Speaker 1: get asked a lot on the road, and I'm sure
- 11:47Speaker 1: you've gotten asked this question a lot. How is it
- 11:50Speaker 1: the doctor Fauci and I believe based in facts that
- 11:54Speaker 1: he has clearly lied under oath before Congress on going
- 11:57Speaker 1: to a function research on Wuhan Lab on different issues
- 12:01Speaker 1: like you just mentioned with masking. Some of your colleagues
- 12:04Speaker 1: have gone after him at Centator Paul really hard and
- 12:08Speaker 1: believe that he flat out lied to them. Number one,
- 12:12Speaker 1: do you believe that he lied? And number two, why
- 12:14Speaker 1: is it if he did lie? There's no accountability for lying,
- 12:17Speaker 1: especially when your highest paid member of the United States government,
- 12:21Speaker 1: he makes more than the president of nine States of
- 12:23Speaker 1: America does. There is no accountability because this Biden administration
- 12:28Speaker 1: is fundamentally corrupt and partisan and political. I have repeatedly
- 12:33Speaker 1: called on the Department of Justice to appoint a special
- 12:37Speaker 1: prosecutor to investigate Anthony Fauci for lying under oath to Congress.
- 12:41Speaker 1: He came in and he testified flat out that the
- 12:44Speaker 1: federal government did not fund gain a function research in
- 12:47Speaker 1: the Wuhunt Institute for Virology, and subsequently the NIH admitted
- 12:51Speaker 1: in writing, yes, it did fund gain a function research
- 12:55Speaker 1: at the Wuhunt Institute of Virology. The two statements are
- 12:58Speaker 1: one hundred and eighty degrees contradictory, and it is a felony,
- 13:04Speaker 1: a federal offense to lie under oath. I will say,
- 13:08Speaker 1: much to my great frustration, I've never had the opportunity
- 13:11Speaker 1: to question doctor Fauci because none of the committees I
- 13:13Speaker 1: sit on, chaired by Democrats, have ever called him in.
- 13:16Speaker 1: They don't want him in. So you're right. Rand has
- 13:19Speaker 1: had some great back and forth because he's on the
- 13:21Speaker 1: Health Committee, and that's the only committee it testifies before
- 13:24Speaker 1: I very much hope when we have majorities, I hope
- 13:27Speaker 1: that he comes before the Judiciary Committee. I hope he
- 13:29Speaker 1: comes before the Commerce Committee. And he needs to testify
- 13:33Speaker 1: under oath, and I believe he should be investigated, and
- 13:36Speaker 1: unless there is an explanation that is not evident on
- 13:39Speaker 1: the face of the words, he should be prosecuted for
- 13:42Speaker 1: lying under oath to Congress and to the American people vicariously.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And I want to be clear. This is one of
- 13:51Speaker 1: the things that I think we need to be very
- 13:53Speaker 1: very clear about. We're not asking for political revenge. We're
- 13:56Speaker 1: asking for accountability for actually breaking the law. And that's
- 14:00Speaker 1: the difference between Republicans and Democrats, especially when they're in power.
- 14:04Speaker 1: As Democrats abuse their power and want to lock up
- 14:07Speaker 1: anybody that was connected to Donald Trump on lies of
- 14:09Speaker 1: Russian collusion. All we're saying is there are laws. When
- 14:13Speaker 1: you raise your right hand, you know that you're under oath,
- 14:15Speaker 1: you say you're going to tell the truth, and when
- 14:17Speaker 1: you deliberately lie to the United States government and to Congress,
- 14:22Speaker 1: there should be accountability for that well. And there's a
- 14:26Speaker 1: reason that it is a felony, a federal criminal offense
- 14:29Speaker 1: to lie under oath to Congress, because when Congress is
- 14:32Speaker 1: having a hearing, it's not just senators asking questions because
- 14:36Speaker 1: we're kind of curious about some stuff. We are doing
- 14:39Speaker 1: so in our constitutional capacity of representing our constituents and
- 14:44Speaker 1: asking on behalf of our constituents. And particularly, Look, it's
- 14:48Speaker 1: one thing if someone says something by mistake. If you
- 14:52Speaker 1: say something by mistake, that's not a crime. Making an
- 14:55Speaker 1: error is not a felony. And it's it's even another
- 14:59Speaker 1: thing if someone says something that is wrong, but it's
- 15:03Speaker 1: a matter that is not of terribly high consequence. In
- 15:08Speaker 1: this instance, the matter on which it appears that Fauci
- 15:13Speaker 1: lied is incredibly consequential. I hope and believe when we
- 15:17Speaker 1: have Republican majorities, I want multiple hearings on the origins
- 15:21Speaker 1: of the COVID virus, where this came from, what the
- 15:24Speaker 1: culpability of the Chinese Communist government was. I'll tell you
- 15:28Speaker 1: this podcast, the Verdict podcast early on, right at the
- 15:33Speaker 1: beginning of this pandemic, back in like March and April,
- 15:36Speaker 1: when things got started, we did multiple podcasts laying out
- 15:40Speaker 1: the evidence that this had escaped, this virus had escaped
- 15:44Speaker 1: from the COVID Institute of Virology. It was at a
- 15:47Speaker 1: time when social media was banning anyone who dared say
- 15:52Speaker 1: such a thing. I don't know how this podcast ended
- 15:55Speaker 1: up escaping that censorship, but this was one of the
- 15:59Speaker 1: very few places where you could get that information. Now,
- 16:02Speaker 1: subsequently we learned that not only was that research going on,
- 16:08Speaker 1: but that the US government was actively funding it. And
- 16:13Speaker 1: gain a function research where you take a dangerous virus
- 16:16Speaker 1: and you go in and you genetically manipulate it to
- 16:19Speaker 1: make it more infectious, to make it more deadly, to
- 16:22Speaker 1: alter it, to make it a hell of a lot
- 16:24Speaker 1: more dangerous. Well, that research is by its nature incredibly dangerous,
- 16:32Speaker 1: and if Fauci chose to deliberately lie, he was concealing
- 16:39Speaker 1: it from the American people, the culpability that he personally
- 16:43Speaker 1: might have had in the creation of COVID nineteen. Now,
- 16:48Speaker 1: in discussing this, I've several times said potentially, and maybe,
- 16:52Speaker 1: because for it to be a criminal offense, he has
- 16:55Speaker 1: a chance to explain it himself. I'm not a scientist,
- 16:57Speaker 1: so maybe there is some ex planation he can marshal.
- 17:01Speaker 1: But on the face of it, the statements are blatantly contradictory.
- 17:05Speaker 1: And the ridiculous thing is Merrick Garland in this Department
- 17:10Speaker 1: of Justice simply won't enforce the law. They don't care
- 17:13Speaker 1: at all. And by the way, I will say Fauci
- 17:18Speaker 1: did enormous damage under Biden. But let me let's be clear,
- 17:22Speaker 1: Fauci should have been fired in the Trump administration. And
- 17:25Speaker 1: it was a mistake of the Trump administration not to
- 17:28Speaker 1: fire Fauci early on because he very quickly began abusing
- 17:33Speaker 1: his power and the media elevated him. I understand why
- 17:35Speaker 1: they didn't because the pandemic media crucified him, right, I mean,
- 17:41Speaker 1: the real reason why Trump didn't fire him is because
- 17:45Speaker 1: his advisors saw that the media would absolutely destroy Donald
- 17:48Speaker 1: Trump and it would ruin his chances of a reelect
- 17:52Speaker 1: to be honest, because they would say, this is how
- 17:54Speaker 1: psycho he is. He fires the guy that's been there
- 17:57Speaker 1: for as long, you know, as long as anybody's been watching,
- 18:00Speaker 1: and he's so trusted by the world, How on earth
- 18:02Speaker 1: could you possibly get rid of him? Well, and I'm
- 18:06Speaker 1: sure that was the reasoning, and there's some force to that.
- 18:08Speaker 1: The media would have done that now I would say
- 18:11Speaker 1: they're doing that anyway, and removing him from having the
- 18:15Speaker 1: power to inflict harm on millions of Americans would have
- 18:18Speaker 1: been the right thing to do. But I think there
- 18:22Speaker 1: needs to be accountability, whether accountability for Fauci, whether accountability
- 18:25Speaker 1: for the teachers unions, whether accountability for the military that
- 18:31Speaker 1: fired soldiers and sailors and airmen and marines who declined
- 18:36Speaker 1: to get the COVID vaccine. Accountability for the Biden administration.
- 18:41Speaker 1: These Democrats want to escape accountability for the decisions they
- 18:46Speaker 1: made that were knowingly inflicting harm and that they did
- 18:50Speaker 1: so for purely political and partisan reasons. You mentioned a
- 18:55Speaker 1: moment ago about you talking about the Wuhan lab and
- 18:58Speaker 1: how did it not get silence or since by big tech.
- 19:01Speaker 1: There's been a bombshell story and I want everybody that's
- 19:03Speaker 1: listening right now to verdict. Please share this podcast with
- 19:07Speaker 1: your family and friends. Hit that subscribe or auto download
- 19:10Speaker 1: button so you get our show three days a week.
- 19:14Speaker 1: This is going to be huge. This bombshell report that
- 19:18Speaker 1: came out Center is showing that Twitter and Facebook not
- 19:22Speaker 1: only did they have regular meetings with the Department of
- 19:25Speaker 1: Homeland Security to discuss censorship, but the Intercept is now
- 19:29Speaker 1: reporting that according to a draft copy of the Department
- 19:33Speaker 1: of Homeland Securities review the DHS's Capstone Report, outlining the
- 19:39Speaker 1: department's strategy and priorities in the coming years. Had this
- 19:45Speaker 1: listed the department plans to target quote inaccurate information on
- 19:51Speaker 1: a wide range of topics, including the origins of the
- 19:55Speaker 1: COVID nineteen pandemic and the efficiency of the COVID nineteen vaccines,
- 20:03Speaker 1: also racial justice, the US withdraw from Afghanistan, and the
- 20:09Speaker 1: nature of the US support to Ukraine. Translation, the Department
- 20:15Speaker 1: of Homeland Security basically said, what are the bigness weaknesses
- 20:19Speaker 1: of the Democratic Party going into the midterm elections? During
- 20:22Speaker 1: the next presidential election, we will go out there to Facebook,
- 20:26Speaker 1: into any other big tech company and will tell them
- 20:30Speaker 1: to silence these stories that make the Democrats look bad
- 20:34Speaker 1: in our tax dollars. Apparently have been used to do
- 20:37Speaker 1: this now for years, dating all the way back to
- 20:39Speaker 1: two thousand and sixteen. This office needs to be shuttered.
- 20:46Speaker 1: The people in charge of it need to be fired.
- 20:49Speaker 1: The Department of Homeland Security is badly, badly off the
- 20:54Speaker 1: rails if they believe their job is censoring Americans to
- 20:58Speaker 1: prevent them from criticizing the government. The last I checked,
- 21:02Speaker 1: we haven't stepped into George Orwell's nineteen eighty four yet.
- 21:06Speaker 1: But if these guys have any say in it, that's
- 21:08Speaker 1: where they want us to go. It is not a
- 21:11Speaker 1: thought crime to disagree with the Biden White House. You know,
- 21:16Speaker 1: Biden was going to nominate this looney woman I don't
- 21:20Speaker 1: remember her name anymore, the one who was like sang
- 21:23Speaker 1: all the time and was this hardcore partisan, was going
- 21:26Speaker 1: to be in charge of this Office of Disinformation and
- 21:29Speaker 1: empowered to silence you and me and anyone else that
- 21:32Speaker 1: she disagreed with. She was such a loon that they
- 21:36Speaker 1: actually backed off and decided not to appoint her. But
- 21:39Speaker 1: the fact that this was institutionalized, that this was set
- 21:43Speaker 1: up as a regular portal for government officials to go
- 21:48Speaker 1: to big Tech and say, silence this, silence this, silence
- 21:52Speaker 1: this silence, This is incredibly dangerous. This is nowhere in
- 21:57Speaker 1: DHS's actual job funk of protecting our safety and security
- 22:02Speaker 1: from terror attacks. And interestingly enough, Ben, this also intersects
- 22:10Speaker 1: with a topic we discussed over a year ago on
- 22:14Speaker 1: this podcast as well, which is, as you know, Donald
- 22:18Speaker 1: Trump filed a lawsuit against Big Tech alleging that its
- 22:24Speaker 1: censorship violates the First Amendment. Now, the challenge with that
- 22:29Speaker 1: lawsuit is the First Amendment does not apply to non
- 22:33Speaker 1: governmental entity. So the First Amendment begins with Congress will
- 22:36Speaker 1: make no law in the First Amendment applies to censorship
- 22:42Speaker 1: by the federal government or through a doctrine called incorporation
- 22:45Speaker 1: by the state or local government. But a private company
- 22:49Speaker 1: is not the government. There is, however, a Supreme Court
- 22:53Speaker 1: doctrine that has extended that that says a private entity
- 22:57Speaker 1: can be liable for a violation of the First Amendment
- 23:00Speaker 1: if it is acting as an instrumentality of the government,
- 23:03Speaker 1: in other words, if it is acting at the behest
- 23:05Speaker 1: of the government, if it is acting if it is
- 23:08Speaker 1: the means by which the government is exercising its censorship powers.
- 23:13Speaker 1: And what we talked about on the podcast well over
- 23:16Speaker 1: a year ago was the email exchanges that came out
- 23:19Speaker 1: between doctor Fauci and Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO and owner
- 23:24Speaker 1: of Facebook at the time, where Fauci was asking Zuckerberg
- 23:30Speaker 1: to take things down from Facebook and to block them,
- 23:33Speaker 1: and it actually it's the same topics we're talking about.
- 23:36Speaker 1: One of the things that he was asking Facebook to
- 23:38Speaker 1: take down was discussions about the origins of COVID nineteen.
- 23:42Speaker 1: So not only was he not furthering the interest of
- 23:45Speaker 1: science of knowing where in fact this disease came from,
- 23:49Speaker 1: he was actively stifling science, fighting science, saying no, we
- 23:54Speaker 1: don't want any discussions of that. And Zuckerberg saluted and said, sir, yes, sir,
- 23:59Speaker 1: happy to help. And I noted on this podcast over
- 24:02Speaker 1: a year ago that that email exchange made Trump's lawsuit
- 24:09Speaker 1: much much stronger and would feed centrally into the argument
- 24:13Speaker 1: that Facebook was acting as an instrumentality of the government.
- 24:17Speaker 1: We subsequently learned that the FBI requested a Facebook and
- 24:22Speaker 1: Twitter that they block stories about Hunter Biden's laptop right
- 24:27Speaker 1: before the election. Again that that was done at the
- 24:30Speaker 1: behest of the government government censorship. We now know those
- 24:34Speaker 1: stories were true. So you literally had big tech censoring
- 24:37Speaker 1: and silencing true stories that were politically harmful and inconvenient
- 24:42Speaker 1: to the Democrats at the behest of the deep state.
- 24:46Speaker 1: And now this latest piece band that you just referred to,
- 24:49Speaker 1: which is this process was institutionalized with a formal portal
- 24:55Speaker 1: and a much broader ambit where some of the stuff
- 24:58Speaker 1: like now you know, disagreeing with Joe Biden and the
- 25:02Speaker 1: Democrats on Ukraine. Now that is subject to censorship at
- 25:06Speaker 1: the requests of the government. Disagreeing with the catastrophe of
- 25:10Speaker 1: Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan and surrender to the Taliban, Now
- 25:14Speaker 1: apparently that is subject to censorship. This is it. You're right,
- 25:20Speaker 1: This is a big, big story. It is a topic
- 25:23Speaker 1: I can promise you when we have majorities next year,
- 25:27Speaker 1: will be front and center for congressional hearings. And if
- 25:31Speaker 1: there was one Democrat in Congress who gives a flip
- 25:37Speaker 1: about free speech, he or she ought to be outraged
- 25:42Speaker 1: at this. And sadly, my prediction is that democrat doesn't exist,
- 25:45Speaker 1: at least doesn't exist in the United States Senate. No
- 25:49Speaker 1: Democrat anymore in the Senate cares one wit about the
- 25:53Speaker 1: threat to free speech from government censorship. You know, even
- 25:56Speaker 1: getting rid of the Senator, the lady you're supposed to
- 25:58Speaker 1: be that, you know, the distant from nation chief, right,
- 26:01Speaker 1: the the decider of what is real and what is
- 26:05Speaker 1: not in the US government. Obviously we finally got rid
- 26:08Speaker 1: of her, but behind the scenes, this is clearly still
- 26:12Speaker 1: going on. And from this new report it says, quote,
- 26:14Speaker 1: there is a formalized process now and it's been there
- 26:18Speaker 1: apparently for years for government officials to directly flag content
- 26:23Speaker 1: on Facebook or Instagram and request that it be throttled
- 26:27Speaker 1: or suppressed through a special Facebook portal portal that requires
- 26:31Speaker 1: a government or law enforcement email to use. At the
- 26:35Speaker 1: time of writing, the content request system at Facebook was
- 26:38Speaker 1: still live. DHS and Meta, who the new name of Facebook,
- 26:44Speaker 1: did not respond to request for comment, and the FBI
- 26:47Speaker 1: has also declined to comment on this because they're the
- 26:50Speaker 1: ones that basically asked to be setting it up. But well,
- 26:52Speaker 1: we do know is in a March meeting an FBI
- 26:55Speaker 1: official warrant that the threat of subversive information on social
- 26:59Speaker 1: media could mind support for the US government. Therefore they
- 27:03Speaker 1: need to have this there Something else that's very weird
- 27:06Speaker 1: and I want to get your take on this is
- 27:08Speaker 1: at this meeting that happen in March, with this FBI
- 27:11Speaker 1: officials warning of this threat of this information right the
- 27:14Speaker 1: submersive information that could quote undermine support for the US government.
- 27:19Speaker 1: In attendance, we're senior executives Center from not only Twitter,
- 27:24Speaker 1: but also JP Morgan Chase. Why would a financial institution
- 27:30Speaker 1: like JP Morgan Chase be in on this type of
- 27:33Speaker 1: meeting that scares the hell out of I think of
- 27:35Speaker 1: a lot of the people that have bank accounts with
- 27:37Speaker 1: JP Morgan Chase or financial accounts with them. Well, we
- 27:41Speaker 1: are unfortunately seeing corporate America more and more becoming the
- 27:45Speaker 1: enforcers for the woke left. And we're seeing that with
- 27:48Speaker 1: the Fortune one hundred. We're seeing that with big banks
- 27:52Speaker 1: where they're trying to cut off customers that they disagree
- 27:55Speaker 1: with their politics, whether they happen to be a gun
- 27:57Speaker 1: store and supporting our Second Amendment rights, or whether they
- 28:03Speaker 1: happen to have political views that are out of favor
- 28:07Speaker 1: with the current White House. And I think the left
- 28:10Speaker 1: is all about power and using power to extort to
- 28:15Speaker 1: force you to comply, and I will say it is
- 28:21Speaker 1: deeply concerning. Look, when we talk about energy, Wall Street
- 28:24Speaker 1: plays a big part in cutting off the cash for
- 28:29Speaker 1: US energy production, and they do so at the active
- 28:34Speaker 1: urging and at the behest of the Biden administration, whether
- 28:37Speaker 1: it's the banking regulators or the SEC. We're seeing these
- 28:42Speaker 1: green New Deal radicals trying to cut off all the
- 28:45Speaker 1: debt they can and all the equity they can for
- 28:47Speaker 1: new oil and gas production. They're doing this on multiple fronts,
- 28:51Speaker 1: because if they can't get it through legislation, they're willing
- 28:55Speaker 1: to use power and power over your livelihood, power over
- 29:00Speaker 1: your ability to earn revenue if it's demonetizing a tech platform,
- 29:07Speaker 1: or power over your ability to to have banking services,
- 29:12Speaker 1: and all of that I think is a complete abuse
- 29:14Speaker 1: of power. Ever since you went on the View, they
- 29:18Speaker 1: seem to have really been unhinged by your appearance, Senator,
- 29:21Speaker 1: and now Sunny hosting on the View has said something
- 29:27Speaker 1: today that I think is racist. I think it's disgusting.
- 29:32Speaker 1: She equated white suburban women Republican voters as roaches. I
- 29:38Speaker 1: want to play this for everybody. This was a real
- 29:40Speaker 1: conversation on the View Republicans. But what's also surprising to
- 29:44Speaker 1: me is the abortion issue. I read a poll just
- 29:49Speaker 1: yesterday that white Republican suburban women are now going to
- 29:54Speaker 1: vote Republican. Why it's almost like roaches voting for raid, right,
- 29:59Speaker 1: it's their own okay, so we democracy or not? Because
- 30:10Speaker 1: just saying that it's it's insulting to the voter. People
- 30:13Speaker 1: make up decisions on what's white for their family, and
- 30:15Speaker 1: the idea that well you should have a save I
- 30:18Speaker 1: mean Senator. When you equate white Republican suburban women voters
- 30:24Speaker 1: as roaches voting for raid, not only I think is
- 30:29Speaker 1: at a bigger and racist statement, but the fact that
- 30:31Speaker 1: it's still not been condemned by anybody on ABC or
- 30:34Speaker 1: the View. Uh, this was even a new low for them. Well,
- 30:38Speaker 1: I guess it's the new war on women. Um, look
- 30:42Speaker 1: the View. They are all rich, they are all hard leftists,
- 30:50Speaker 1: and they are utterly out of touch with people in
- 30:54Speaker 1: this country. Sonny unfortunately says nasty, offensive, insulting things on
- 30:59Speaker 1: a day basis. But if you look at this comment,
- 31:03Speaker 1: so she's saying, all right, if you're a woman, you're
- 31:07Speaker 1: not allowed to be concerned about inflation, that you can't
- 31:10Speaker 1: afford to put food on the table anymore, you can't
- 31:13Speaker 1: afford to fill your car or your truck or your minivan,
- 31:16Speaker 1: you can't afford to pay your bills. You're not allowed
- 31:19Speaker 1: to be concerned about crime, even though you and your
- 31:22Speaker 1: family are at greater risk and you're seeing outside your
- 31:25Speaker 1: door perhaps crime rates going up and up and up.
- 31:28Speaker 1: You're not allowed to be worried about that. You're not
- 31:30Speaker 1: allowed to be worried about nearly five million illegal immigrants
- 31:33Speaker 1: in under Joe Biden coming in and over one hundred
- 31:37Speaker 1: thousand ft and all overdoses. Nope, Nope, you're not a woman.
- 31:40Speaker 1: If you're worried about the people your kid's dying of
- 31:42Speaker 1: a drug overdose, that's your woman card is revoked. According
- 31:47Speaker 1: to Sonny and the elite leftist, the only thing you
- 31:50Speaker 1: were allowed to care about if you're a woman, according
- 31:53Speaker 1: to the view, is you must be an abortion maximalist.
- 31:57Speaker 1: You must believe that abortion should be legal in every instance,
- 32:01Speaker 1: no matter what, up until the ninth month of pregnancy.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Anything else be damned, and that has to be the
- 32:08Speaker 1: only thing you care about them that Look, there's a
- 32:13Speaker 1: reason why across the country we talked about on the
- 32:17Speaker 1: last podcast that suburban women had moved twenty six points
- 32:23Speaker 1: away from Democrats and towards Republicans because the policies coming
- 32:30Speaker 1: from Democrats are hurting suburban women, they're hurting suburban men,
- 32:33Speaker 1: they're hurting they're hurting just about everybody. And the approach
- 32:37Speaker 1: of the Democrats is not, oh yeah, I can see
- 32:41Speaker 1: how not being able to pay your bills and provide
- 32:43Speaker 1: for your family and keep your kids safe would be
- 32:46Speaker 1: a problem. Maybe we should do something about it. No,
- 32:49Speaker 1: what do they do. They insult you. You're a cockroach.
- 32:52Speaker 1: That's their answer. You're a cockroach unless you obey us. Now,
- 32:57Speaker 1: look personally, I think the Democratic National Committee how to
- 33:02Speaker 1: take Sonny's comments and pay to run them on every
- 33:05Speaker 1: TV station in America, because I think that's really a
- 33:08Speaker 1: great political strategy. Just call the voters you want to get,
- 33:11Speaker 1: called them all cockroaches, and that they'll clearly understand that
- 33:16Speaker 1: you have their best interest in mind and vote to
- 33:18Speaker 1: keep you in power. For that, you know, It's it's amazing.
- 33:21Speaker 1: I think how bad the closing argument has been for Democrats.
- 33:26Speaker 1: You saw the President give his speech in prime time.
- 33:30Speaker 1: This was something that obviously was very important to the president,
- 33:34Speaker 1: and they said to come out and kind of give
- 33:36Speaker 1: this closing argument. There were a lot of lies in
- 33:40Speaker 1: that closing argument, and make no mistake about it, him
- 33:43Speaker 1: claiming that the deficits drastically down him claiming that people
- 33:47Speaker 1: were better off now than they ever were before. But
- 33:50Speaker 1: even Biden's chiefest staff Ron Klain, said that that Biden
- 33:54Speaker 1: his speech last night was quote a final warning. Take
- 33:59Speaker 1: a listen. The President decided a few days ago that
- 34:01Speaker 1: it was important to issue one final warning on this issue,
- 34:06Speaker 1: to make very clear, to leave no doubt that we
- 34:08Speaker 1: have people out there still peddling the big lie people
- 34:13Speaker 1: now raising the issue of election denial in this election.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I mean, he's still going back to January sixth, Obviously,
- 34:19Speaker 1: he's still going back to election deniers, denial and trying
- 34:23Speaker 1: to make the entire election about something from several years ago.
- 34:28Speaker 1: This was a terrible closing argument for him, which is
- 34:31Speaker 1: the reason why I think a massive red wave is coming.
- 34:34Speaker 1: New Herschel Walker numbers have just come out. Walkers leading
- 34:38Speaker 1: the Democrat Raphael Warnock now over the fifty percent threshold,
- 34:41Speaker 1: which is needed. You and I talked about not wanting
- 34:44Speaker 1: to have a runoff there, which is very important, and
- 34:47Speaker 1: now look at where we are. Well listen, I will
- 34:50Speaker 1: say in defense of the Biden White House, they demonstrated
- 34:53Speaker 1: that they are capable of learning. That they did one
- 34:56Speaker 1: thing right, which is from their previous speech. This time
- 35:00Speaker 1: they didn't bathe Biden and red light and have him
- 35:04Speaker 1: do his oppression of the Emperor Palpatine from from Star Wars.
- 35:08Speaker 1: So I guess that's an improvement that that that that
- 35:11Speaker 1: that they you know, avoided, you know, Actually, the Palpatine
- 35:15Speaker 1: lighting would have been better if they had Kamala Harris
- 35:17Speaker 1: just laughing in the background. I'm per cackle would have
- 35:20Speaker 1: made it really frightening. But look for a closing argument. Nationally,
- 35:32Speaker 1: if you look at the polling, the number one issue
- 35:33Speaker 1: in the country is inflation. What did Biden say about inflation?
- 35:36Speaker 1: Not a damn word. The number two issue in the
- 35:40Speaker 1: country is crime. What did Biden say about crime? Not
- 35:42Speaker 1: a damn word. The number three issue in the country
- 35:45Speaker 1: is illegal immigration. What did Biden say about it? Illegal immigration?
- 35:48Speaker 1: Not a damn word? Instead, what did he do to
- 35:52Speaker 1: use ron Klain's language, He gave one final warning. Look,
- 35:56Speaker 1: this is Biden doing the same thing Sonny did, calling
- 35:59Speaker 1: the voter's cockroaches. And it's a really troubling shift in
- 36:05Speaker 1: political rhetoric. It is not uncommon for politicians to attack
- 36:09Speaker 1: each other. Biden attacks me frequently. It's not uncommon. We
- 36:14Speaker 1: shouldn't be surprised that Biden calls Trump an s ob
- 36:18Speaker 1: and that Trump calls Biden a sob. That as long
- 36:22Speaker 1: as we've had elections, one candidate has said nasty things
- 36:25Speaker 1: about the other candidate, that that's to be expected. What
- 36:29Speaker 1: is new is demonizing the voters. You know the Palpatine
- 36:35Speaker 1: speech where Biden stood up and said, half of America,
- 36:39Speaker 1: anyone who voted for Donald Trump, anyone who voted Republican,
- 36:43Speaker 1: is a semi fascist. Normally, you don't go after the voters.
- 36:48Speaker 1: You don't attack the voters. You may attack your opponent.
- 36:51Speaker 1: My opponent's a big jerk. But but it is a
- 36:55Speaker 1: strange new threshold where the voters are the bad guys.
- 36:59Speaker 1: And that's what was saying. If you vote, you're a cockroach.
- 37:04Speaker 1: You're a semi fascist cockroach. You know. Kathy Hawckell, the
- 37:09Speaker 1: Democrat governor of New York, her comment a couple of
- 37:13Speaker 1: months ago where she said, if you vote Republican, if
- 37:15Speaker 1: you vote for Trump, get out of the state. You're
- 37:20Speaker 1: not a New Yorker. I mean, that's a bizarre statement.
- 37:25Speaker 1: I don't know of Look, I've been actively following politics
- 37:31Speaker 1: pretty much my entire life. I literally do not know
- 37:34Speaker 1: of another analog of any elected official telling a big
- 37:40Speaker 1: chunk of his or her voters get the hell out,
- 37:44Speaker 1: you do not belong in my state. Listen. I say
- 37:47Speaker 1: this as a person who is elected to represent thirty
- 37:50Speaker 1: million Texans. There are a lot of liberal Texans. There
- 37:55Speaker 1: are a lot of Democrats. There are millions of Democrats
- 37:58Speaker 1: in the state of Texas. Thankfully they're more Republicans. But
- 38:02Speaker 1: I represent both the liberal Democrats in Texas. It's my
- 38:07Speaker 1: job to represent them. No, that doesn't mean that I
- 38:09Speaker 1: agree with them on every issue. That's why we have elections.
- 38:11Speaker 1: I lay out what I believe and the voters can
- 38:13Speaker 1: decide if they want a representative that follows through on
- 38:17Speaker 1: those beliefs. But it is my job every day been
- 38:20Speaker 1: to fight for the rights of the Democrats in Texas.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Fight for their liberties, fight for their free speech, fight
- 38:28Speaker 1: for their religious liberty, fight for their safety, fight for
- 38:31Speaker 1: their security, fight for their ability to educate their kids,
- 38:34Speaker 1: fight for their ability to be able to get a
- 38:36Speaker 1: good job. All of that that is my job. I
- 38:39Speaker 1: cannot imagine saying what the Democrats are saying, which is,
- 38:44Speaker 1: you people are cockroaches. Get out of the state if
- 38:47Speaker 1: you don't agree with me, if you don't comply, you
- 38:51Speaker 1: are otherised. And you know this goes back to doctor Fauci,
- 38:56Speaker 1: and you're not welcome to come to Thanksgiving your Christmas
- 38:58Speaker 1: dinner either. Yeah, it is truly shocking that this was
- 39:02Speaker 1: their closing argument, but it is their closing argument center
- 39:06Speaker 1: that we'll have one more show before election day. Want
- 39:10Speaker 1: to let you know we're going to be doing a
- 39:11Speaker 1: live show on election night, so make sure you plan
- 39:15Speaker 1: for that. You'll be able to listen to that. It's
- 39:18Speaker 1: going to be really, really fun. Don't forget to tell
- 39:21Speaker 1: your family and friends about Verdict. Hit that subscriber auto
- 39:25Speaker 1: download button and we'll have one more episode that will
- 39:28Speaker 1: drop on Monday before election day, so make sure you
- 39:31Speaker 1: listen to that, and we will see you back there
- 39:33Speaker 1: back here on Monday,
