- 0:01Speaker 1: Well, we got a new spend for bad poll numbers
- 0:03Speaker 1: for the president of the United States of America. They're
- 0:06Speaker 1: spinning it over at MSNBC by saying it's not that
- 0:09Speaker 1: big of a deal that he's got the worst poll
- 0:11Speaker 1: numbers of any president at this point going into a
- 0:13Speaker 1: election year. Take a listen on MSNBC is They're like, yeah,
- 0:17Speaker 1: you know, it's bad, but it's not that bad. It's
- 0:19Speaker 1: just a snapshot.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Maura is talking about the skepticism Mara really quickly. I'm
- 0:24Speaker 2: so sorry, Mika talking about the skepticism really quickly of polling.
- 0:30Speaker 3: I said that.
- 0:32Speaker 2: A reporter a couple of days ago. I just, you
- 0:36Speaker 2: know what, I don't want to hear the polls. I
- 0:40Speaker 2: don't want to hear them. Because we heard that Joe
- 0:41Speaker 2: Biden was going to win in a landslide in twenty
- 0:43Speaker 2: twenty he didn't. We heard that Republicans were going to
- 0:47Speaker 2: win in a massive red wave in twenty twenty two,
- 0:50Speaker 2: even when we didn't feel it, but we heard it,
- 0:52Speaker 2: and everybody told us and everybody talked about it, and
- 0:56Speaker 2: then it didn't happen.
- 0:58Speaker 4: I just again, I I.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Just again, I really do wonder, Mara, what voter in
- 1:07Speaker 2: suburban Atlanta that didn't vote for Donald Trump in twenty
- 1:11Speaker 2: twenty is going to say, well, you know what, I
- 1:14Speaker 2: didn't vote.
- 1:15Speaker 3: For him in twenty twenty.
- 1:16Speaker 4: But now after January the sixth, and after he stole
- 1:19Speaker 4: nuclear secrets, and after he tried to get his own
- 1:22Speaker 4: people to destroy his tapes, and after everybody that's testified
- 1:28Speaker 4: against him, and.
- 1:29Speaker 5: All these cases are people that he hired himself, and
- 1:33Speaker 5: after he said he was going to terminate the constitution. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 5: I think my friends in Alfaretta and I we're gonna
- 1:39Speaker 5: go knock on.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Doors for I love how they're like nuclear secrets, you're
- 1:43Speaker 1: gonna after you've stole nuclear secrets, Like they're just making
- 1:46Speaker 1: up crap as they go here. So the Democrats don't
- 1:50Speaker 1: like the polls. Now they're critical of the polls that
- 1:53Speaker 1: they create because they're the ones that create these polls.
- 1:56Speaker 1: To be clear, they're the ones that do the polling
- 1:59Speaker 1: at NBC mis NBC like they're they're there polls, y'all.
- 2:01Speaker 1: They're like, they're actually their polls. They are the ones
- 2:03Speaker 1: that actually do these poles. And now they don't like
- 2:07Speaker 1: those polls because they think those polls are terrible.
- 2:11Speaker 6: Right.
- 2:11Speaker 1: They think those polls are just mean, they think those
- 2:13Speaker 1: these polls are bad and and these these polls are
- 2:17Speaker 1: are polls that well, I'm skeptical of because I can't
- 2:21Speaker 1: believe that anybody would vote for Donald Trump. This goes
- 2:23Speaker 1: back to the disdain issue here and the amount of disdain, right,
- 2:30Speaker 1: I mean, I mean this, this is this is a
- 2:32Speaker 1: amount of the the amount of disdain that they have
- 2:37Speaker 1: for people when it comes to those that will not
- 2:40Speaker 1: vote for for for their candidate. Right, they they they
- 2:44Speaker 1: hate you, They are beneath you. They they they they
- 2:51Speaker 1: can't stand you. And and if you do vote, they're
- 2:54Speaker 1: gonna do what they can to try to flip your vote.
- 2:56Speaker 1: That that's part of what this really is. It's a
- 2:59Speaker 1: it's we do what we want to do, and if
- 3:02Speaker 1: you don't follow our lead, then we'll just get rid
- 3:04Speaker 1: of the guy that you elect. That's what they did
- 3:06Speaker 1: with Donald Trump, right. He won an election in twenty sixteen,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and for four years they were undermining him, making sure
- 3:12Speaker 1: that every step of the way, every step of the
- 3:16Speaker 1: way that you were that he was being undermined. They
- 3:19Speaker 1: were impeaching him, even though they knew that. Still Docier
- 3:22Speaker 1: was created by the Democrats and created by the DNC
- 3:25Speaker 1: and created by Hillary Clinton's campaign, Like they knew that,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and they knew when they were impeaching him that while
- 3:30Speaker 1: they were doing it, they were impeaching him over something
- 3:34Speaker 1: that was a lie, because they're the ones that paid
- 3:38Speaker 1: for the lie, Like they're the ones that created the lie.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And they know that as well. They knew all of
- 3:44Speaker 1: this everything I just said to you. They know this right,
- 3:47Speaker 1: like they know it. It's incredibly frustrating to then hear
- 3:51Speaker 1: them come out and tell you that the polling sucks
- 3:56Speaker 1: and because but again they're going back to their narrative, right,
- 3:59Speaker 1: the polling sucks. However, I just can't get my head
- 4:03Speaker 1: around somebody that could possibly want to vote for Donald Trump.
- 4:06Speaker 1: This is how much they hate you. And this is
- 4:08Speaker 1: also how much they're going to try to overthrow the
- 4:10Speaker 1: will of the people this next time, because you don't
- 4:13Speaker 1: deserve to vote if you don't vote for who they
- 4:15Speaker 1: say is a good candidate. That's part of this, right, Like,
- 4:19Speaker 1: you don't deserve a say so if you vote for
- 4:23Speaker 1: somebody that we tell you shouldn't be voting for, and
- 4:26Speaker 1: then if the polling sucks for our guy, then we
- 4:29Speaker 1: don't trust the polling or the posters that we employ
- 4:33Speaker 1: that give us polls because our candidate must be so
- 4:36Speaker 1: amazing and Joe Biden, keep listening.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Donald Trump, I don't see it happening.
- 4:41Speaker 7: I actually I totally agree. I think we like to
- 4:44Speaker 7: think of polls as as though they're biblical in some way,
- 4:49Speaker 7: or they're perfectly scientific. It's really more of an art
- 4:52Speaker 7: in many ways. It's just a snapshot in time of
- 4:56Speaker 7: people you happen to catch on a certain day who
- 4:59Speaker 7: may may not honestly tell you what they're feeling. Is
- 5:02Speaker 7: then you have to put into the context of you know,
- 5:04Speaker 7: there is a choice, and there will be a choice
- 5:07Speaker 7: between two individuals, and on that day, the question is
- 5:10Speaker 7: always which voters are the most motivated to show up,
- 5:14Speaker 7: how many of them are there, And of course campaigning matters,
- 5:17Speaker 7: getting out the vote matters, And all of this is
- 5:20Speaker 7: to say that there are probably many Americans who may
- 5:23Speaker 7: not be feeling that excited or enthusiastic about voting for
- 5:29Speaker 7: President Biden, but on the day of I think many
- 5:33Speaker 7: of them will show up anyway because they certainly don't
- 5:37Speaker 7: want the alternative. And Donald Trump, I think we've seen
- 5:40Speaker 7: that consistently in those polls, and so this is about
- 5:43Speaker 7: turnout as much as it is about polls that are
- 5:46Speaker 7: up and down on a specific candidate. So I think
- 5:49Speaker 7: it's early and it's you don't want to take polls
- 5:54Speaker 7: just by their.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Word and move on.
- 5:56Speaker 7: This is about something bigger than that. There's a context here.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I love this just like you know, well historically here
- 6:01Speaker 1: it's much bigger. So I think it's early and you
- 6:05Speaker 1: don't want to take polls just by their word and
- 6:07Speaker 1: move on. Okay, So Joe Biden in the polls they
- 6:10Speaker 1: say sucks. No, no, no, we don't want to know he
- 6:13Speaker 1: doesn't suck. Right, the economy is terrible, No, it's not.
- 6:16Speaker 1: We think that at the end of the day, people
- 6:19Speaker 1: will look at that Joe Biden and the babbling idiot
- 6:22Speaker 1: that he's become and they'll say, well, he's still got
- 6:24Speaker 1: to be better than Donald Trump. Now, I'll even say this,
- 6:27Speaker 1: there could be some truth to that. If Donald Trump
- 6:31Speaker 1: keeps arguing over spilled milk and keeps arguing over the
- 6:36Speaker 1: election twenty sixteen are twenty twenty in the election results,
- 6:40Speaker 1: saying it was stolen, and he campaigns on that, which
- 6:42Speaker 1: he shouldn't if he campaigns on the issues, he'll win.
- 6:45Speaker 1: If he does go back and keep saying it was stolen,
- 6:47Speaker 1: it was stolen, it was stolen, and keeps trying to
- 6:49Speaker 1: argue over that, which at this point no one cares about.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Talk about the economy now, talk about how bad Biden
- 6:54Speaker 1: is now, talk about how bad Biden is for the country.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Right now, that's all that really matters right now. That
- 7:00Speaker 1: it like, you don't need anything else. That's the whole
- 7:02Speaker 1: ball game. If you argue over that, Donald Trump wins,
- 7:06Speaker 1: But he's going to have to be disciplined as a
- 7:08Speaker 1: leader and a politician. If he goes back and keeps
- 7:12Speaker 1: rehashing twenty twenty and runs off of twenty twenty, that's
- 7:16Speaker 1: how he loses the general election. And unfortunately, Democrats know
- 7:22Speaker 1: that he'll take the bait ninety nine percent of the time.
- 7:24Speaker 1: So he's going to have to learn to not take
- 7:25Speaker 1: a bait. Is he going to be disciplined enough not to?
- 7:27Speaker 1: When they ask him a question about the stolen election? Right,
- 7:30Speaker 1: the rigged election, he'll give you twenty minutes to sound bites.
- 7:34Speaker 1: And that's how they keep the other subjects like the
- 7:37Speaker 1: economy and the war in Ukraine and the money that's
- 7:40Speaker 1: being and the Biden corruption off of the front pages.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Every time you talk about the election being rigged, you're
- 7:47Speaker 1: taking these other issues off the front pages. That's the problem.
- 7:52Speaker 1: And he's gonna have to really understand that as a
- 7:56Speaker 1: candidate that, as much as he may want to talk
- 7:59Speaker 1: about happened in twenty twenty, it's not the issue that's
- 8:03Speaker 1: going to get you reelected. It's not the issue it's
- 8:05Speaker 1: going to get you to win. Okay, that's the problem here,
- 8:09Speaker 1: So that aspect of this, they could be telling the truth.
- 8:12Speaker 1: But I still think this idea that they're like, oh,
- 8:14Speaker 1: I don't trust posters anymore, Like give me a break,
- 8:17Speaker 1: Like that's your line you're gonna go with, I don't
- 8:19Speaker 1: trust polsters. Really. Dana Bash on CNN had this to
- 8:25Speaker 1: say about the new poll numbers for Joe Biden that
- 8:28Speaker 1: do not look good today on.
- 8:31Speaker 8: Inside Politics, there is no way to spend this. CNN
- 8:34Speaker 8: reads the country's mood right now and finds that America
- 8:38Speaker 8: is deeply unhappy with Joe Biden. Most Democratic voters hope
- 8:42Speaker 8: for a change at the top of the ticket, and
- 8:44Speaker 8: Americans don't take the president and his word when he
- 8:47Speaker 8: talks about his son Hunter, plus a deal he couldn't refuse.
- 8:52Speaker 8: Trump employee number four flips after the government promises to
- 8:55Speaker 8: shield the mar A lago It manager from prosecution and
- 9:00Speaker 8: a road to ruin paved by the former president. Mike
- 9:03Speaker 8: Pence warns that Republicans are headed for extinction, but in
- 9:07Speaker 8: anyone in what is very much still Trump's GOP listening,
- 9:11Speaker 8: Chris Christy will be here to talk about that in more.
- 9:13Speaker 8: In moments, I'm Dana Bash. Let's go behind the headlines
- 9:16Speaker 8: and inside politics a first. Our new poll has important
- 9:21Speaker 8: new takeaways about twenty twenty four. There is deep rooted
- 9:24Speaker 8: dissatisfaction with the incumbent and the direction he is taking
- 9:28Speaker 8: the country. There are even deeper doubts about if mister
- 9:31Speaker 8: Biden is up to the job again. CNN's David Challion
- 9:34Speaker 8: is standing by for us at the Magic Wall. David,
- 9:37Speaker 8: these numbers are just not good if you are a
- 9:41Speaker 8: sitting president of the United States. Show us what they
- 9:44Speaker 8: tell us.
- 9:44Speaker 6: Yeah, there's no doubt about that data. This is setting
- 9:47Speaker 6: off alarm bells inside the Biden campaign in the White House. Overall,
- 9:50Speaker 6: his approval rating is down now at thirty nine percent
- 9:54Speaker 6: approved some more than six and ten Americans disapprove of
- 9:57Speaker 6: the job he's doing. And you see he's been hovering
- 9:59Speaker 6: here for a little bit, Dana, since the spring you
- 10:02Speaker 6: mentioned that Democrats would like somebody other than Biden as
- 10:06Speaker 6: the nominee of their party.
- 10:08Speaker 1: That is dramatically so. Two thirds of.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Democratic and Democratic leaning voters say that they would like
- 10:15Speaker 6: a different candidate to be the Democratic nominee. Only a
- 10:18Speaker 6: third of Democrats and Democratic leaners say they want Joe
- 10:21Speaker 6: Biden to be the nominee. And we asked this open
- 10:25Speaker 6: ended question of Democrats and Democratic leaners, what is your
- 10:29Speaker 6: biggest concern about a Biden candidacy.
- 10:32Speaker 1: It's not even close, Dana.
- 10:33Speaker 6: Forty nine percent say it's his age, seven percent, mental sharpness,
- 10:37Speaker 6: seven percent health ability to do the job. This is
- 10:40Speaker 6: all related to Joe Biden being the oldest president currently
- 10:44Speaker 6: serving and obviously asking the country to renew his contract
- 10:47Speaker 6: for four mere years beyond next year.
- 10:49Speaker 8: And what about a potential Biden Trump rematch. What do
- 10:52Speaker 8: wer nabers say about that?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Dana, It is a dead heat race, basically a.
- 10:57Speaker 6: Forty seven percent Trump forty six percent and Biden. This
- 11:01Speaker 6: is the first time we at CNN this cycle have
- 11:03Speaker 6: tested a general election matchup like this, and this is
- 11:07Speaker 6: no clear leader, well within the margin of error, a
- 11:10Speaker 6: real dead heat contest, and you know what, it's not
- 11:13Speaker 6: a contest. Many Americans are all that psyched about. I mean,
- 11:16Speaker 6: look at their favorability numbers.
- 11:18Speaker 1: They're the same.
- 11:19Speaker 6: Thirty five percent of Americans have a favorable view of
- 11:21Speaker 6: Joe Biden. Thirty five percent of Americans in this poll
- 11:24Speaker 6: have a favorable view of Donald Trump. And Dana, look
- 11:27Speaker 6: at some of these attributes for the president, he doesn't
- 11:30Speaker 6: have majority support for any of them. Forty five percent
- 11:32Speaker 6: of Americans says he cares about people like you, thirty
- 11:36Speaker 6: three percent say they're proud to have Biden as a president.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Only twenty eight percent of Americans says that the president
- 11:42Speaker 6: inspires confidence.
- 11:43Speaker 8: Dana, Wow, pretty incredible numbers there, David.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I love this. Wow, pretty incredible numbers. All right, So
- 11:51Speaker 1: these numbers suck, They're awful. So how do we spend them? Right?
- 11:59Speaker 1: We go back to Trump sucks even more. That's that's
- 12:03Speaker 1: how we do this. We go into Trump sucks even
- 12:05Speaker 1: more and we tell people that Donald Trump is the
- 12:09Speaker 1: worst president ever, and then we'll stick with it. That way,
- 12:12Speaker 1: or we go back to the other thing. We go
- 12:16Speaker 1: back to COVID, right and the COVID election, and maybe
- 12:21Speaker 1: we get it that way. It's possibility we will just
- 12:24Speaker 1: bring back COVID three point oh, four point oh whatever point.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Oh we're at at this point. There is a problem
- 12:31Speaker 1: that's happening for Democrats right now. Specifically, that problem is
- 12:36Speaker 1: they're now having to deal with the crisis at our
- 12:39Speaker 1: southern border is being brought to cities. Yeah, where they
- 12:45Speaker 1: claim they were a welcoming city. That's no longer the case.
- 12:48Speaker 1: New York said, bring us everybody, and we will host
- 12:51Speaker 1: you and take care of you and give you hotels.
- 12:53Speaker 1: And now that mayor is losing his mind is they
- 12:57Speaker 1: are overrun with illegal immigrants who took them at their work.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Heard Mike Pince saying this about the idea that the
- 13:04Speaker 1: New York mayor Adams is actually trying to blame Donald
- 13:07Speaker 1: Trump for the migrant crisis. This is hysterical.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Listen, great seem as the Vice president. Good to see it.
- 13:12Speaker 3: You're a fault, you and Donald Trump's fault. What's your
- 13:15Speaker 3: reaction to the blame game? Well, look, you in office
- 13:18Speaker 3: in two and a half years.
- 13:18Speaker 9: Yeah, Look, it was Labor Day. I was up in
- 13:21Speaker 9: New Hampshire, and you know, I said on New York
- 13:24Speaker 9: radio that I appreciate I appreciate Mayor Adams calling out
- 13:27Speaker 9: Joe Biden, but it's pretty rich to hear him say
- 13:31Speaker 9: that after our administration reduced illegal immigration and asylum abuse
- 13:36Speaker 9: by ninety percent by building hundreds of miles a wall
- 13:40Speaker 9: remain in Mexico, policy that I negotiated on behalf of
- 13:43Speaker 9: the administration in Title forty two, and then Joe Biden
- 13:47Speaker 9: came in and on day one he dismantled all of
- 13:50Speaker 9: the policies of our administration that had worked to secure
- 13:53Speaker 9: the southern border of the United States. So, you know,
- 13:56Speaker 9: I appreciate Mayor Adams conceding the fact that this is
- 14:00Speaker 9: a Biden administration problem, but it originated with the Biden administration.
- 14:05Speaker 1: As well in the America.
- 14:06Speaker 3: I think he believes what he said. Do you think
- 14:08Speaker 3: he believes what he said? It's really hard to believe.
- 14:12Speaker 9: Literally, I mean, we had secured the southern border of
- 14:15Speaker 9: the United States. And you know, as I'm out traveling
- 14:18Speaker 9: all across the country campaigning for the Republican nomination, sometimes
- 14:22Speaker 9: people say to me, do you think we can secure
- 14:24Speaker 9: the southern border.
- 14:25Speaker 3: We did it before.
- 14:27Speaker 9: Okay, we literally secured the southern border.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Of the United States.
- 14:30Speaker 1: We can do it again.
- 14:32Speaker 9: But Joe Biden's open borders policies have created the worst
- 14:35Speaker 9: border crisis in American history. If I'm president in the
- 14:38Speaker 9: United States, day one, we put back into effect the
- 14:41Speaker 9: policies that worked in our administration and build out from
- 14:44Speaker 9: there to secure our border and fix this broken immigration system.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Now here's the part that I laughed Mike Pence, and
- 14:51Speaker 1: I want to I just wanted to hear what he
- 14:53Speaker 1: said because it is hilarious. Right, somehow, this is the
- 14:56Speaker 1: Trump Pens policy problem. That's what the mayor of New
- 14:58Speaker 1: York saying, which is a they didn't have this problem
- 15:01Speaker 1: there when Donald Trump was the President of the United
- 15:04Speaker 1: States of America. They got this problem when Joe Biden
- 15:07Speaker 1: opened up the southern border and then they started shipping
- 15:10Speaker 1: illegal immigrants to New York. After New York was like,
- 15:12Speaker 1: we'll take them all. We would love to have these
- 15:14Speaker 1: people come in, we would love to take care of them.
- 15:16Speaker 1: We're a welcoming, opening, loving city. Now. Senator Ted Cruz
- 15:21Speaker 1: was on as well on Fox talking about this. Right
- 15:25Speaker 1: this is a problem in Texas. Senator Cruz blasting Democratic
- 15:30Speaker 1: cities for changing their tune on the migrant crisis, saying,
- 15:34Speaker 1: it's an astonishing hypocrisy from the left.
- 15:37Speaker 10: Listen, lisis we've been able to pull in Senator Ted Cruz.
- 15:40Speaker 10: I know he's busy on the hill. Republican from Texas,
- 15:43Speaker 10: ranking member of the Senate Commerce Committee, also a member
- 15:46Speaker 10: of the Senate Judiciary and Foreign Relations Committees. So I
- 15:49Speaker 10: know I don't have you for long.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Senator.
- 15:52Speaker 10: First of all, when you hear Eric Adams here in
- 15:55Speaker 10: New York, the mayor and other Democrat led cities leaders saying, oh,
- 15:58Speaker 10: they're feeling the pain and we're a sanctuary city. But
- 16:02Speaker 10: but but but but what do you say?
- 16:04Speaker 11: You know, it really is astonishing hypocrisy. You've got Eric Adams,
- 16:09Speaker 11: You've got the governor of New York, You've got the
- 16:10Speaker 11: governor of Massachusetts. You've got the mayor of Washington, d c.
- 16:13Speaker 11: The mayor of Chicago, the mayor of San Francisco. All
- 16:17Speaker 11: of them are discovering suddenly the burdens of Joe Biden's
- 16:20Speaker 11: open borders and illegal immigration, and they're seeing thousands or
- 16:24Speaker 11: tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants,
- 16:28Speaker 11: and they're discovering that it drives up crime rates, that
- 16:31Speaker 11: it drives up, it drives up the burdens on the city.
- 16:35Speaker 11: It overcrowds the schools, it overcrowds the hospitals. And I
- 16:39Speaker 11: got to say, coming from Texas, it's amusing. We've had
- 16:42Speaker 11: seven million illegal immigrants under Joe Biden, and so seeing
- 16:47Speaker 11: Eric Adams complain about one hundred thousand, it is cute.
- 16:51Speaker 11: But he still doesn't bother to put the blame where
- 16:53Speaker 11: it belongs. This is a political decision by Joe Biden,
- 16:58Speaker 11: by Kamala Harris. And by the way, Chuck Schumer. If
- 17:01Speaker 11: Eric Adams wants to talk to someone, Chuck Schumer lives
- 17:04Speaker 11: in New York City. He says rightly that illegal immigration
- 17:07Speaker 11: is destroying New York City. Well, he can pick up
- 17:10Speaker 11: the phone and tell Chuck Schumer to stop fighting for
- 17:14Speaker 11: open borders, to stop protecting the Biden administration as they
- 17:18Speaker 11: lawlessly open the borders.
- 17:20Speaker 10: Can you talk to me about the focus on the
- 17:23Speaker 10: dissolution if you will, that the degradation here in New York,
- 17:27Speaker 10: but that focus was never on Texas. You didn't hear
- 17:30Speaker 10: Governor Greg Abban. I know I've interviewed you and him
- 17:33Speaker 10: and others from that beautiful state where I have family
- 17:36Speaker 10: many many times have heard how they are crushed under
- 17:39Speaker 10: the weight of illegals coming across the border. But no
- 17:41Speaker 10: one ever says it's going to change us to the
- 17:44Speaker 10: point where we cease to exist. I mean, is that
- 17:46Speaker 10: desperation or is that true coming out of the city's mayor.
- 17:49Speaker 10: How bad do you think it will get for them
- 17:51Speaker 10: because they aren't handling it.
- 17:52Speaker 11: Well, Look, I think it's both and I think it
- 17:55Speaker 11: is utter hypocrisy. At the same time, the order of
- 17:58Speaker 11: magnitude is really Listen, this was stark last year. You
- 18:03Speaker 11: look at a community like Martha's Vineyard. Martha's Vineyard has
- 18:06Speaker 11: a population between twenty and thirty thousand people, and when
- 18:10Speaker 11: Governorn DeSantis sent fifty five zero illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard,
- 18:16Speaker 11: they freaked out, They declared an emergency, they called in
- 18:19Speaker 11: the National Guard, and they deported them within twenty four hours.
- 18:22Speaker 11: To put that in comparison, I want you to compare
- 18:25Speaker 11: it to another town that is about the same size
- 18:27Speaker 11: as Martha's Vineyard, that is Del Rio, Texas. Del Rio
- 18:30Speaker 11: Texas is a town right on the border on the
- 18:32Speaker 11: Rio Grande River as a population of about thirty thousand people.
- 18:36Speaker 11: I was there in Del Rio when on one single
- 18:41Speaker 11: day there were between ten and fifteen thousand illegal immigrants
- 18:46Speaker 11: in a single day, fifty percent of the population of
- 18:50Speaker 11: Del Rio all gathered under a bridge right there, invading
- 18:55Speaker 11: the city. Martha's Vineyards says, fifty is an emergency. Eric
- 18:59Speaker 11: Adams says in New York City, one hundred thousand is
- 19:02Speaker 11: an emergency. We got Texas towns where half the population
- 19:07Speaker 11: is coming in illegally, and yet the Democrats still refuse
- 19:11Speaker 11: to do anything about it. Today, Joe Biden is releasing
- 19:15Speaker 11: more illegal immigrants, is enriching more human traffickers, is allowing
- 19:19Speaker 11: more and more illegal drugs and fentanyl to flood across
- 19:23Speaker 11: the border. That is killing Americans across our country.
- 19:26Speaker 10: Wow, Senator, I'm glad you're with us. I'm going to
- 19:29Speaker 10: get to this now because we just found out about
- 19:31Speaker 10: these court documents.
- 19:33Speaker 1: By the way, you listen to him explaining how bad
- 19:36Speaker 1: it is, and Democrats are like, all right, it's bad.
- 19:39Speaker 1: We're admitting it's bad at the border, right, it's bad.
- 19:42Speaker 1: But the real problem is now it's becoming our problem
- 19:45Speaker 1: in these cities, and so Adams is like, well, you
- 19:49Speaker 1: don't understand how bad it is. Guy Benson, New York City.
- 19:52Speaker 1: They're talking about this last night on TV. Listen to
- 19:54Speaker 1: what he had to say about this at Fox as well,
- 19:57Speaker 1: about this quote, massive crisis in New York. How you
- 20:00Speaker 1: doing doing great?
- 20:01Speaker 3: Great?
- 20:01Speaker 1: Awesome?
- 20:02Speaker 3: You look fantastic.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 20:03Speaker 12: Is the only solution to put a Republican in charge,
- 20:06Speaker 12: And because that's not possible, we're doomed.
- 20:09Speaker 13: There's probably no great immediate solution in some of these places.
- 20:12Speaker 13: And I am just blown away by the ratcheting up
- 20:16Speaker 13: of the rhetoric from Mayor Adams, because we're not that
- 20:19Speaker 13: far removed from the Trump years, and all these people
- 20:22Speaker 13: were saying back when Trump was president, oh, let's read
- 20:25Speaker 13: the Statue of Liberty, poems right the poor and the
- 20:28Speaker 13: huddled masses. And now I was like, it's destroying our city.
- 20:32Speaker 13: It's just a few years later, and that's quite a
- 20:36Speaker 13: reality check, right, And I'm now seeing Adams getting attacked
- 20:40Speaker 13: by the left for being a mini Trump, for just
- 20:43Speaker 13: recognizing the problem playing out in front of his eyes,
- 20:46Speaker 13: and he's trying to sort of blame Republicans. They're not
- 20:49Speaker 13: really saying the final thing out loud, which is they
- 20:52Speaker 13: need to secure the border and then this will stop
- 20:55Speaker 13: because they don't want to piss off their base because
- 20:58Speaker 13: their base actually doesn't believe it. I don't want to
- 21:00Speaker 13: know what's their definition of sanctuary? Yeah right, they're also
- 21:03Speaker 13: happy with their sanctuary policies. What exactly do you think
- 21:07Speaker 13: that means? Aside from we're not Republicans and we like
- 21:10Speaker 13: immigrants that it was virtue signaling. Now they are confronted
- 21:14Speaker 13: with the actual consequences and they're like, whoa, we did
- 21:17Speaker 13: not sign up for this, Yes, wonderful lesson.
- 21:19Speaker 12: I remember Adams was saying people were gonna have to
- 21:21Speaker 12: take people in, which actually would be the literal definition
- 21:25Speaker 12: of a sanctuary. That if you believe in the sanctuary, Emily,
- 21:28Speaker 12: you should have some you should have one of these
- 21:30Speaker 12: illegal immigrants off the street and in your house.
- 21:32Speaker 3: What's I hear you've been doing?
- 21:34Speaker 1: Congratulations. And one of the things that he said that
- 21:37Speaker 1: was mentioned there in this conversation is that, well, we're
- 21:40Speaker 1: going to need people to open up their homes and
- 21:42Speaker 1: take people in. Really, that's what you want, You want
- 21:45Speaker 1: people to open up their homes and take people in Liker.
- 21:48Speaker 1: That's that's how you're going to deal with this. Come on,
- 21:52Speaker 1: that's the solution here, really, Like, that's it. That's what
- 21:55Speaker 1: you're gonna do. Yeah, that's what we're gonna do. Come on,
- 21:57Speaker 1: this guy is such an idiot. He pandered, and now
- 22:02Speaker 1: he's having to deal with the pandering, right, Like, what
- 22:04Speaker 1: do you do now? Mayor Adams has come out saying
- 22:08Speaker 1: that we can't sustain this, we can't keep this happening.
- 22:12Speaker 1: He warns that this migrant crist is going to destroy
- 22:16Speaker 1: the city.
- 22:17Speaker 14: Listen, we turned this city around in twenty months, and
- 22:21Speaker 14: then what happened started with a madman down in Texas
- 22:26Speaker 14: decided he wanted to bust people up to New York City.
- 22:29Speaker 14: One hundred and ten thousand migrants. We left to feed, clothes, house,
- 22:38Speaker 14: educate the children, watch their laundry sheets, give them everything
- 22:44Speaker 14: they need, healthcare, and this team here wed let's do
- 22:49Speaker 14: everything possible before we have to push it out into
- 22:52Speaker 14: neighborhoods and communities. Month after month, I stood up and
- 22:56Speaker 14: I said, this is going to come to a neighborhood
- 22:57Speaker 14: near you. Well, we're here, We're here, We're getting no
- 23:03Speaker 14: support on this national crisis.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Oh it's a national crisis. Wow, what a change of tune. Right,
- 23:14Speaker 1: national crisis.
- 23:15Speaker 3: It gets better, and we're receiving no support.
- 23:17Speaker 14: And let me tell you something, New York is never
- 23:20Speaker 14: in my life have I had a problem that I
- 23:23Speaker 14: did not see an end in two.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I don't see an ending to this. I don't see
- 23:28Speaker 3: an ending to this.
- 23:29Speaker 14: This issue will destroy New York City, destroy New York City.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Okay, So if we use that logic, then I think
- 23:38Speaker 1: it's fair to say that every other city that's dealing
- 23:40Speaker 1: with this time to one thousand, it's destroying their cities too,
- 23:44Speaker 1: isn't it right? I mean, it's destroying them, you know.
- 23:47Speaker 1: He also went on TV to complain about illegal immigrants
- 23:50Speaker 1: yesterday the day before. Here's what he said.
- 23:53Speaker 14: This is a national and statewide issue that has been
- 23:57Speaker 14: unjustly dropped into the Latin of New York City resident.
- 24:02Speaker 14: We only make up point zero five of the land
- 24:07Speaker 14: mass in New York State. Point zero five that's what
- 24:10Speaker 14: we make up. Yet we are housing over ninety nine
- 24:15Speaker 14: percent of the migrants.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I sit back and I enjoy these moments watching them
- 24:21Speaker 1: freak out, calling it things like this.
- 24:25Speaker 15: This is not a sign of a progress of This
- 24:28Speaker 15: is a sign of a crisis, the greatest, I believe,
- 24:31Speaker 15: humanitarian crisis the city has ever witness.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Okay, So if that's true, then why are you not
- 24:38Speaker 1: calling for secure in the border right This influx the
- 24:41Speaker 1: greatest humanitarian crisis the city has ever witnessed. Okay, then
- 24:44Speaker 1: you should call right now to secure the border. And
- 24:49Speaker 1: you're not. He did a seven minute sit down interview
- 24:53Speaker 1: with CBS this morning, and yet he does an entire
- 24:57Speaker 1: seven minute interview, he doesn't once call for secure in
- 24:59Speaker 1: the He calls emunitank crisis. He calls it a crisis
- 25:03Speaker 1: that is rocking the city, that this is going to
- 25:05Speaker 1: destroy his city. But he will not say we must
- 25:09Speaker 1: secure the border because he's a WUS. He's putting his
- 25:12Speaker 1: politics ahead of the safety and security and the prosperity
- 25:16Speaker 1: of the citizens he represents. He's trying to blame the
- 25:18Speaker 1: insane man down in Texas that busts some people up
- 25:21Speaker 1: to New York City, which is again hysterical. Listen ow
- 25:24Speaker 1: CBS this morning put it to him.
- 25:26Speaker 16: If the US is facing a humanitarian crisis, over where
- 25:29Speaker 16: the place migrants who are seeking asylum in this country.
- 25:32Speaker 16: In New York City, a new center has just opened
- 25:35Speaker 16: up on Randalls Island.
- 25:36Speaker 3: It's expected to house.
- 25:37Speaker 16: Listen to this number up to three thousand migrants. Other
- 25:41Speaker 16: cities like Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago are also trying
- 25:45Speaker 16: to manage an overwhelming number of new arrivals. Our national
- 25:48Speaker 16: correspondent Eureka Nunkin spoke with the mayor of New York
- 25:51Speaker 16: City about how to handle.
- 25:52Speaker 3: The situation here.
- 25:53Speaker 16: A lot of people feel this out of control here already.
- 25:55Speaker 17: It truly is, and we see more of that over
- 25:58Speaker 17: the last year. You know. The mayor that was sent
- 26:00Speaker 17: down with Eric Adams predicts that the city could spend
- 26:02Speaker 17: upwards of twelve billion dollars over three years without more
- 26:06Speaker 17: help from the state. More than five hundred migrants arrived
- 26:09Speaker 17: in New York City on Sunday alone, and last week
- 26:12Speaker 17: we spoke with some of them, who say they are
- 26:14Speaker 17: simply looking for a better life. Around six am, two
- 26:20Speaker 17: buses with dozens of migrants pull into the heart of
- 26:23Speaker 17: New York City. Marjorie Tovar came from Venezuela and says
- 26:30Speaker 17: she's happy to be here, happy because God gave me
- 26:35Speaker 17: the opportunity to arrive here with my daughters. The National
- 26:38Speaker 17: Guard directs them to an intake center roughly twenty minutes
- 26:42Speaker 17: away on foot, but community organizer Power Mulu and others
- 26:46Speaker 17: step in to get the migrants' ubers while handing out snacks.
- 26:50Speaker 18: We first triage, We listened to their stories, We listen
- 26:54Speaker 18: to their needs.
- 26:55Speaker 17: Are you overwhelmed?
- 26:56Speaker 3: No, I am not overwhelmed.
- 26:58Speaker 18: I am a little bit upset that we are going
- 27:02Speaker 18: from one whole year and we still have people sitting
- 27:06Speaker 18: in hotels and in shelters, and we have not done
- 27:11Speaker 18: the proper outreach.
- 27:12Speaker 17: Since spring of last year, New York City officials say
- 27:15Speaker 17: they've provided shelter and care for over one hundred thousand
- 27:19Speaker 17: asylum seekers. On Randall's Island is where you'll find the
- 27:23Speaker 17: latest center to open, with rows of cots, a place
- 27:26Speaker 17: to shower, and a dining area. Mayor Eric Adams says
- 27:30Speaker 17: it's expected to house up to three thousand people.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Is this a sign of right, by the way? Three
- 27:35Speaker 1: thousand people? So, what Adams is now realizing is exactly
- 27:38Speaker 1: what border states have been dealing with now for years
- 27:41Speaker 1: and years and years. And he's saying it's going to
- 27:44Speaker 1: destroy a city. But he won't say.
- 27:47Speaker 8: So.
- 27:47Speaker 1: He'll admit it's going to destroy a city. It's going
- 27:49Speaker 1: to destroy the city, it's gonna hurt the city. But
- 27:52Speaker 1: what he won't say, Okay, what they won't say, to
- 27:58Speaker 1: be very clear, is that we need to secure the border.
- 28:01Speaker 1: They'll say everything else, but that. Listen to the second
- 28:06Speaker 1: part of Mayor Adams freaking out about the influx, calling
- 28:09Speaker 1: it a great humanitarian crisis that's going to ruin the city.
- 28:12Speaker 1: But he still won't say the magic words, we must
- 28:15Speaker 1: secure the border to stop this from happening in New York.
- 28:17Speaker 17: Listen, now, progress or does this speak to the humanitarian
- 28:21Speaker 17: crisis your city is facing.
- 28:23Speaker 15: This is not a sign of a progress of This
- 28:26Speaker 15: is a sign of a crisis, the greatest, I believe,
- 28:30Speaker 15: humanitarian crisis the city has ever witness.
- 28:33Speaker 17: But some like mlu have been critical of the mayor,
- 28:36Speaker 17: questioning how money is being spent and how migrants are
- 28:40Speaker 17: being treated.
- 28:41Speaker 3: The rest of it.
- 28:41Speaker 18: Sites with no showers, the no ac the.
- 28:45Speaker 19: People practically sleeping on top of each other, the people
- 28:48Speaker 19: getting threatened that they're going to get deported if they
- 28:50Speaker 19: complain about a living condition, people calling us and telling
- 28:54Speaker 19: us they're moving us from one hotel to another hotel.
- 28:57Speaker 17: Mulu says migrants that city runs for scale have sent
- 29:01Speaker 17: him pictures of frozen food.
- 29:03Speaker 1: By the way, can we just do you understand what's
- 29:05Speaker 1: happening here? These people are mad that they're having to
- 29:09Speaker 1: move from one hotel to another hotel. They're mad that
- 29:11Speaker 1: their food isn't perfect. These are the illegal immigrants that
- 29:15Speaker 1: are coming in to this country, and then they're angry
- 29:17Speaker 1: after they break in our country that they're having to
- 29:19Speaker 1: move hotel rooms. You poor little babies. If you don't
- 29:22Speaker 1: like it, then go back to the country you came from.
- 29:24Speaker 1: If you don't like it, don't break into our country.
- 29:25Speaker 1: They shouldn't be getting free food, by the way, they
- 29:27Speaker 1: shouldn't be getting a free hotel room. That's part of
- 29:29Speaker 1: the reason why some people are going to New York
- 29:31Speaker 1: City now is because all the liberal handouts are like, Oh,
- 29:33Speaker 1: this is awesome. I get to live in a hotel,
- 29:34Speaker 1: I get free food. And now they're like, oh, but
- 29:36Speaker 1: they're traumatizing me. They're telling me that if I talk
- 29:38Speaker 1: about how bad the conditions are that I'm staying in
- 29:41Speaker 1: for months on end, that they're going to deport me. Well,
- 29:44Speaker 1: then you you should be deported just because you're here.
- 29:48Speaker 1: If you don't like it, get the hell out of
- 29:49Speaker 1: my country.
- 29:50Speaker 17: And meals consisting of just crackers and fruit cups. We
- 29:54Speaker 17: showed those images to the mayor.
- 29:56Speaker 7: Have you heard this before?
- 29:57Speaker 3: No, especially with the frozen food we have.
- 30:00Speaker 15: When we hear about one of our service providers not
- 30:03Speaker 15: meeting our standards, we immediately get in and we need
- 30:06Speaker 15: to be clear that I'm on the ground.
- 30:08Speaker 3: I'm not detached from this.
- 30:10Speaker 15: I walked through surprise visits to see the quality of service.
- 30:13Speaker 15: How often, very often, very often, I can give you
- 30:17Speaker 15: once a week. I am looking at one of the
- 30:19Speaker 15: locations to make sure we're reaching the standard.
- 30:21Speaker 17: The city has demanded help from the state in response.
- 30:25Speaker 17: Last week, an attorney for New York Governor Kathy Hochel
- 30:28Speaker 17: sent a skating letter to a judge as part of
- 30:31Speaker 17: a legal proceeding. In part, she raised concerns about the
- 30:35Speaker 17: mayor's handling of the migrant crisis. The state alleges that
- 30:39Speaker 17: you didn't share information promptly, that you all did not
- 30:42Speaker 17: implement programs in a timely manner. She says, you've turned
- 30:45Speaker 17: away opportunities to house thousands of migrants when.
- 30:48Speaker 14: We looked at the analysis of about the twelve spaces
- 30:50Speaker 14: they gave us. Some of them were in floodplain areas
- 30:54Speaker 14: of them were not suitable to build in.
- 30:56Speaker 17: On top of that, Mayor Adams says, there's another complicated
- 30:59Speaker 17: issue at play, the right to work. Legally, migrants must
- 31:03Speaker 17: wait six months after they've applied for asylum before they
- 31:07Speaker 17: are eligible for work permits, and due to backlogs, the
- 31:11Speaker 17: weight could take years. What specifically can you do to
- 31:14Speaker 17: address that issue?
- 31:15Speaker 1: But by the way, all this complaining from illegal immigrants, well,
- 31:18Speaker 1: I'm having to wait too long to work. I'm having
- 31:20Speaker 1: to wait too long for this, and I don't like
- 31:21Speaker 1: the food, I don't like the hotel room you're putting
- 31:23Speaker 1: me in. Get the hell out of my country. Get
- 31:26Speaker 1: the hell out of my country. Please get out of
- 31:30Speaker 1: my country. If you don't like it, get out. You
- 31:34Speaker 1: broke in, get out. And if we'd stop feeding them,
- 31:38Speaker 1: they'll leave. If you stop housing them, they won't come.
- 31:42Speaker 1: If you stop giving them the American dream for while
- 31:46Speaker 1: breaking the law, they'll stop showing up. Listen to this
- 31:50Speaker 1: last part. By the way, Adam's talking about the future
- 31:53Speaker 1: in New.
- 31:53Speaker 17: York of migrants not being able to work.
- 31:57Speaker 15: We're going to do the duality of calling for rightfully
- 32:00Speaker 15: the resources for the city, even something simple as calling
- 32:03Speaker 15: the state of emergency. If the President does that, it
- 32:06Speaker 15: allows us to get resources.
- 32:09Speaker 17: According to current and former senior US officials and internal documents,
- 32:14Speaker 17: the White House has been reluctant to push ahead policy
- 32:17Speaker 17: changes because of legal risks, political optics, and a spike
- 32:21Speaker 17: in border crossings. The White House emphasized in a statement
- 32:24Speaker 17: to CBS News it's commitment to working with cities, but
- 32:28Speaker 17: said ultimately Congress needs to approve additional funding. What would
- 32:32Speaker 17: you say to President Biden if he's listening right now.
- 32:35Speaker 15: The precursor to sleep, to enjoy the American dream is
- 32:39Speaker 15: the right to work.
- 32:40Speaker 3: The right to work. Let them work.
- 32:43Speaker 17: That's what Jason Silva, who fled Columbia, is hoping for.
- 32:50Speaker 17: I really want to work. I pray to God a
- 32:52Speaker 17: lot for this. I beg every person I speak with
- 32:55Speaker 17: to help me. The mayor's office told us any threats
- 32:59Speaker 17: against me migrants aren't acceptable, and all housing sites do
- 33:02Speaker 17: have AC and viable shower options. And while the situation
- 33:05Speaker 17: is not ideal, the city is quote out of good
- 33:08Speaker 17: options and even okay options in response to the mayor's
- 33:11Speaker 17: claim that housing sites the state offered were not suitable
- 33:15Speaker 17: to build in, the governor's office said it's confident those
- 33:18Speaker 17: locations could be made operational. So many issues at stake, obviously,
- 33:22Speaker 17: as we were speaking during the package, the right to
- 33:24Speaker 17: work and what the mil was.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Saying, it's amazing how they're like, hey, these people, they
- 33:28Speaker 1: deserve the right to work. Like you noticed, this is
- 33:30Speaker 1: just all right. Look, hurry up, make them citizens. You
- 33:33Speaker 1: notice that's the end that's the endgame here. Just hurry up,
- 33:36Speaker 1: make them citizens. Okay, if this will fix the problem,
- 33:39Speaker 1: If you'll just hurry up and make them citizens, that's
- 33:43Speaker 1: what we're missing here, right, Just just make them citizens.
- 33:48Speaker 1: And if you do that, then this will fix all
- 33:51Speaker 1: of our problems. It's just that simple. Just make them citizens.
- 33:54Speaker 1: For goodness sakes, right, just just make them citizens. Give
