- 2:29Speaker 4: It's the forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 2:34Speaker 4: President Donald Trump talking about affordability and saying that his
- 2:38Speaker 4: administration is taking major action to lower costs for American
- 2:43Speaker 4: consumers and make buying a car much more affordable. How
- 2:48Speaker 4: is he doing that by lowering gas admission standards. This
- 2:51Speaker 4: on top of the fact he's lowering the price of gasoline,
- 2:54Speaker 4: and the price of goods and services, and the price
- 2:57Speaker 4: of eggs and bread and butter and milk. The list
- 3:01Speaker 4: is actually getting pretty long. This is making the Democrats
- 3:05Speaker 4: go crazy. And the President made it clear from the
- 3:09Speaker 4: Oval Office today that he's just getting started when it
- 3:12Speaker 4: comes to the issue of affordability. Here's part of what
- 3:16Speaker 4: the President had to say today.
- 3:18Speaker 1: My administration has taken his storic action to lower costs
- 3:21Speaker 1: for American consumers, protect American auto jobs, and make buying
- 3:26Speaker 1: a car much more affordable for accountless American families.
- 3:29Speaker 2: And also safely, we're.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Officially terminating Joe Biden's ridiculously burdens some horrible actually cafe
- 3:36Speaker 1: standards that imposed expensive restrictions and.
- 3:40Speaker 2: All sorts of problems gave all sorts.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Of problems to automakers, and we're not only talking about here,
- 3:47Speaker 1: we're talking about outside of our country. Because nobody could
- 3:50Speaker 1: do it, nobody wanted to do it, and it was ridiculous,
- 3:53Speaker 1: very expensive. It put tremendous upward pressure on car prices.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Combined with the insane electric vehicle mandate, Biden's burdens some
- 4:03Speaker 1: regulations helped cause the price.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Of cars to soar more than twenty five percent.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And in one case they went up eighteen percent in
- 4:11Speaker 1: one year. Today, we're taking one more step to kill
- 4:14Speaker 1: the Green new scam as part of the greatest scam,
- 4:17Speaker 1: probably well other than Russia, Russia, Russia, and a few
- 4:20Speaker 1: others in good name, the greatest scam in American history,
- 4:24Speaker 1: the Green new scam. And it's a question to end
- 4:27Speaker 1: the gasoline powered car. This is what they wanted to do,
- 4:30Speaker 1: even though we have more gasoline than any other country
- 4:32Speaker 1: by far, and people.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Want the gasoline car. They want everything, they want, electric,
- 4:37Speaker 2: they want they wont.
- 4:38Speaker 1: A half lots of alternatives, but they do want the
- 4:41Speaker 1: gasoline car.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Right now. It's leading away by a lot.
- 4:46Speaker 1: The car business is a very interesting business, but we
- 4:49Speaker 1: want to keep it that way.
- 4:52Speaker 4: One of the most interesting things about what the President
- 4:54Speaker 4: said the White House is he is looking at all
- 4:56Speaker 4: areas and trying to find ways to help Americans. Affordability
- 5:02Speaker 4: is the number one priority of this administration, which brings
- 5:05Speaker 4: us to Mark Meadows, former White House Chief of Staff,
- 5:09Speaker 4: was asked today about what he believes is the timing
- 5:14Speaker 4: of the two thousand dollars Trump tariff checks and when
- 5:17Speaker 4: they could go out take a listen to what he
- 5:20Speaker 4: had to say about that big victory as well.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Says affordability, that's the top thing. But listen to what
- 5:26Speaker 5: President Trump said about affordability yesterday.
- 5:28Speaker 6: And you know, there's this fake narrative that the Democrats
- 5:32Speaker 6: talk about affordability.
- 5:34Speaker 2: They just say the word. It doesn't mean anything to anybody,
- 5:37Speaker 2: You just say it. So, which is it?
- 5:40Speaker 5: Yeah, So I would probably tend to be more with
- 5:43Speaker 5: President here than Congressman Left Wise choice here's the reason.
- 5:49Speaker 5: But here's the reason why is this is not about
- 5:52Speaker 5: affordability as much as it is about getting the prices
- 5:56Speaker 5: of groceries down, the price of energy down. When we
- 6:00Speaker 5: start looking at that, affordability is an abstract term that's
- 6:04Speaker 5: very difficult. What do we need to do we need
- 6:06Speaker 5: to make sure the price of ground beef goes down.
- 6:09Speaker 5: We need to make sure that the average man or
- 6:13Speaker 5: woman going into the grocery store and purchasing is actually
- 6:17Speaker 5: seeing the price of those things go down. I can
- 6:19Speaker 5: tell you the President and Kevin Hassett and others are
- 6:22Speaker 5: laser focused on that. But I think the other thing
- 6:25Speaker 5: that should be coming out that actually will make things,
- 6:28Speaker 5: If you want to use the word affordable, I think
- 6:31Speaker 5: the Trump checks. I'm in favor of that as a
- 6:34Speaker 5: conservative member. Some of my colleagues and friends are not
- 6:37Speaker 5: for that, But I think these two thousand dollars Trump
- 6:40Speaker 5: tariff checks need to go out next year. That will
- 6:45Speaker 5: be that will be something that actually others can spend
- 6:49Speaker 5: the money and maybe reduce some of the pain of
- 6:52Speaker 5: the higher inflationary prices they're seeing at the grocery store.
- 6:56Speaker 4: So even Mark Meadows saying, I think the two thousand
- 6:59Speaker 4: dollars Trump tariff checks will go out next year, which
- 7:04Speaker 4: brings us to the President's total goal. Whether it's gas,
- 7:08Speaker 4: whether it's grocery prices, whether it's car prices, whether it's
- 7:12Speaker 4: the cost of basic goods and services. The President wants
- 7:16Speaker 4: you to feel like you're in control and winning in
- 7:19Speaker 4: America's economy. He also mentioned as well that he wants
- 7:24Speaker 4: to get rid of the income tax, and the tariffs
- 7:27Speaker 4: are helping us move towards that. And then there's the
- 7:30Speaker 4: issue of the national debt, which the White House also
- 7:33Speaker 4: says they're looking to help tackle that issue as well,
- 7:37Speaker 4: which goes back to what President Trump ran on putting
- 7:40Speaker 4: Americans first and cutting out waste, fraud, and abuse. And
- 7:46Speaker 4: now we're witnessing just how successful the President is starting
- 7:50Speaker 4: to become on a major issue now.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Story number two.
- 7:53Speaker 4: President Donald Trump also promised Americans when he was running
- 7:57Speaker 4: for election that he was going to keep you safe,
- 7:59Speaker 4: that he was secure or the border and he was
- 8:01Speaker 4: going to make sure that we didn't have terrorists coming
- 8:04Speaker 4: into this country across that open border. Many that came
- 8:07Speaker 4: across many that we're concerned about now, including sleeper cells,
- 8:12Speaker 4: and we have seen some of these recent attacks on
- 8:14Speaker 4: National guardsmen, on ICE members, and the President is now
- 8:18Speaker 4: saying it is time for us to take a look
- 8:21Speaker 4: and why we're letting in so many people from so
- 8:23Speaker 4: many parts around the world where we know they are
- 8:26Speaker 4: hotbed for terrorism, which brings us to this President Donald
- 8:31Speaker 4: Trump's deputies have now shut down the legal migration pathways
- 8:36Speaker 4: for people from nineteen countries pending the completion of security
- 8:41Speaker 4: checks and interviews. The Trump administration is making every effort
- 8:47Speaker 4: to ensure individuals becoming citizens are the best of the best.
- 8:52Speaker 4: That coming from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services Agency,
- 8:57Speaker 4: which went on to add this, we will take no
- 9:00Speaker 4: chances when the future of our nation is at stake.
- 9:03Speaker 4: The Trump administration is reviewing all immigration benefits granted by
- 9:08Speaker 4: the Biden administration to aliens from countries of concern.
- 9:13Speaker 5: Now.
- 9:14Speaker 4: The freeze is unprecedented, is what a former agency official
- 9:18Speaker 4: said to CBS News. The new guidance indicates that the
- 9:22Speaker 4: immigration crackdown directed by Donald Trump following last week's shooting
- 9:27Speaker 4: of the National Guard members is much broader in scope
- 9:31Speaker 4: than previously reported. The policy is a huge shift from
- 9:35Speaker 4: Joe Biden's presidency as well, which sought to legalize several
- 9:39Speaker 4: million wage cutting, rent spiking illegal immigrants. Biden's deputies and
- 9:47Speaker 4: judges pushed their migrants through many quasi legal pathways, including
- 9:52Speaker 4: friendly asylum reviews, deportation freezes, and the award of temporary
- 9:59Speaker 4: protected status and humanitarian parole. Like it was candy on Halloween.
- 10:06Speaker 4: The Trump shut down is now freezing asylum claims for
- 10:10Speaker 4: all who want to avoid deportation as well. It also
- 10:15Speaker 4: shuts down paperwork proceedings, green card approvals, and naturalization ceremonies
- 10:21Speaker 4: from people from nineteen high risk national populations who enter
- 10:27Speaker 4: the United States under President Joe Biden's watch, Clearly many
- 10:31Speaker 4: of them unvetted. The freeze also applies to migrants from Afghanistan, Burma, Chad,
- 10:39Speaker 4: the Republic of the Congo, Ecuadorial, Guinea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Soudan, Yemen, Cuba, Togo, Turkmenistan,
- 10:53Speaker 4: and Venezuela, to name a few. Nine of the countries
- 10:57Speaker 4: are predominantly Muslim. Most of the countries are small and backward,
- 11:02Speaker 4: but four of them, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Iran in Somalia have
- 11:06Speaker 4: large populations in the United States. Christy Nome, the Secretary
- 11:12Speaker 4: of the Department of Home in Security, has hinted the
- 11:14Speaker 4: list may be expanded, and at least one report says
- 11:19Speaker 4: ten additional countries may be added very soon. Now, the
- 11:24Speaker 4: policy is not a complete shutdown. Despite much demand for
- 11:28Speaker 4: a total freeze, the shutdown policy does not include migrants
- 11:33Speaker 4: from Mexican and Central American countries, which together account for
- 11:37Speaker 4: a large share of recent migrants. It also exempts migrants
- 11:41Speaker 4: from India, which is a huge population a five million legal,
- 11:47Speaker 4: illegal and quasillegal migrants via complex networks of companies into
- 11:53Speaker 4: white collar jobs, trucking jobs, and hotel related jobs sought
- 11:57Speaker 4: by Americans throughout the United States. The us CIS announced
- 12:02Speaker 4: the policy on Tuesday afternoon via a memo to staff,
- 12:06Speaker 4: saying this memorandum mandates that all aliens meeting these criteria
- 12:12Speaker 4: undergo a thorough review process, including a potential interview and
- 12:17Speaker 4: if necessary, a reinterview, to fully assess all national security
- 12:22Speaker 4: and public safety threats along with any other related grounds
- 12:27Speaker 4: of inadmissibility or ineligibility. The letter also said that the
- 12:32Speaker 4: individuals should go by a case by case review. An
- 12:36Speaker 4: assessment will be done of all relevant information and facts.
- 12:40Speaker 4: The USCIS will also conduct a comprehensive review of all
- 12:44Speaker 4: relevant policies, procedures, and operational guidance for compliance, accuracy, and
- 12:50Speaker 4: needed improvements during this time. The guidance outlines the adjudicated
- 12:55Speaker 4: hold procedure, requirements and processes for the review. The interview
- 13:01Speaker 4: or reinterview of affected aliens. The USCIS personnel are instructed
- 13:06Speaker 4: to prioritize national security and public safety concerns and ensure
- 13:11Speaker 4: compliance with all applical laws and regulations during the adjudication process.
- 13:16Speaker 4: All findings must be documented in accordance with established protocols
- 13:21Speaker 4: to support any subsequent determinations or actions present, making it
- 13:26Speaker 4: clear as He was also asked about this at the
- 13:29Speaker 4: White House today and here's what he had to say.
- 13:31Speaker 3: You've made changes for Afghani's ability to apply for asylum.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Do you blame all Afghans for this?
- 13:38Speaker 6: One man's no, But we've had a lot of problems
- 13:40Speaker 6: with Afghans because they had a lot of them coming
- 13:42Speaker 6: in on these planes.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Again, I show you this picture.
- 13:46Speaker 6: We had a lot of them coming in on these
- 13:48Speaker 6: planes that are there was no checking. They just poured
- 13:52Speaker 6: into the plane. And many of these people are criminals.
- 13:56Speaker 6: Many of these people are people that shouldn't be here,
- 13:58Speaker 6: and many of them have been gotten out. I mean,
- 14:00Speaker 6: we've gotten out a lot of the people that you know,
- 14:03Speaker 6: We've taken.
- 14:03Speaker 2: A lot of matter here, but they came in. Yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 2: I know, the steel story. Many are wonderful. Yeah, I'm
- 14:09Speaker 2: sure what should they think.
- 14:13Speaker 6: Well, they can't be happy. Okay, they can't be happy
- 14:16Speaker 6: because what's taking place between that. If you look at Somalia,
- 14:20Speaker 6: they're taking over Minnesota and they are we got a
- 14:24Speaker 6: lot of problems with the gangs, with all of the
- 14:27Speaker 6: things taking place in Minnesota. We have an incompetent governor. Dope,
- 14:31Speaker 6: we have a dope governor. They can't be happy about
- 14:34Speaker 6: what's going on. And if you talk about the Afghans,
- 14:38Speaker 6: you know there's a problem because so many bed ones
- 14:40Speaker 6: came in on the planes. They just walked on whoever
- 14:43Speaker 6: the strongest people were physically in a way, but whoever
- 14:47Speaker 6: the strongest they got on the planes.
- 14:48Speaker 2: There was no checking.
- 14:49Speaker 6: They just swamped the planes. They took off. We had
- 14:53Speaker 6: no idea who they were.
- 14:55Speaker 4: So thin about what the President just said there, We
- 14:57Speaker 4: had no idea who they were. But what the present
- 15:00Speaker 4: and it is guaranteeing you now is they're going to
- 15:01Speaker 4: do everything they can to make sure they find out
- 15:03Speaker 4: who they are and keep you and your family safe.
