- 0:01Speaker 1: Well, I just think you should be more appreciative because
- 0:04Speaker 1: this country has stuck with them through thick and thin.
- 0:06Speaker 1: They were less smarter than Joe Biden because Joe Biden
- 0:09Speaker 1: didn't have a clue. He just gave money hand over
- 0:11Speaker 1: a fish.
- 0:11Speaker 2: And they're losing thousands of soldiers a week and I
- 0:14Speaker 2: want to see it stop.
- 0:16Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Good Tuesday morning, Ben Ferguson with you, and these are
- 0:22Speaker 2: the big stories we're talking about on the forty seven
- 0:25Speaker 2: Morning Update. First up, Donald Trump has set to address
- 0:28Speaker 2: a joint session of Congress tonight.
- 0:30Speaker 1: So what is the President going to say to you?
- 0:33Speaker 2: I have those details exclusively for you in just a moment. Also,
- 0:37Speaker 2: cartel members are being arrested by the FBI. Why was
- 0:42Speaker 2: this happening for the last four years under Biden? Harris?
- 0:45Speaker 1: I have that as well.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And finally, Donald Trump decides to stop military funding for
- 0:51Speaker 2: Ukraine and Democrats react with rage and anger. It's the
- 0:55Speaker 2: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now. Story
- 0:59Speaker 2: number one, Donald Trump will be addressing a joint session
- 1:02Speaker 2: of Congress tonight, and more important than that, he'll be
- 1:05Speaker 2: addressing the American people. Now, in politics, momentum is everything,
- 1:09Speaker 2: and right now the American people are behind Donald Trump.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So what can you expect this evening from the President. Well,
- 1:16Speaker 2: Donald Trump said he vows to tell it like it
- 1:19Speaker 2: is when talking to you, the American people. This will
- 1:22Speaker 2: be Donald Trump's first Congressional address of his second presidency,
- 1:26Speaker 2: and he understands it is an important one.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:29Speaker 2: This also is a speech that he will give just
- 1:31Speaker 2: four days after he said Zelensky, well, get the hell
- 1:35Speaker 2: out of the White House. After that exchange with the
- 1:38Speaker 2: President and the Vice President J. D. Vance and Marco Rubio,
- 1:42Speaker 2: the Secretary of State, Donald Trump and Vance, as you know,
- 1:45Speaker 2: called Zelensky disrespectful during their White House meeting Friday over
- 1:49Speaker 2: bringing an end to the Russian Ukraine War. Now, before
- 1:53Speaker 2: the fallout, the Ukrainian president had been expected to sign
- 1:56Speaker 2: a major mineral deal with the United States of America.
- 1:59Speaker 2: They would also clearly give protection to Ukraine. Minutes before
- 2:03Speaker 2: his big post on True Social Trump wrote, the only
- 2:07Speaker 2: president who gave none of Ukraine's land of Putin's Russia
- 2:11Speaker 2: is President Donald J.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Trump.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Remember that when the weak and ineffective Democrats criticize in
- 2:16Speaker 2: the fake news gladly puts out.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Anything they say.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Reports on Monday said Trump was expected to meet with
- 2:24Speaker 2: top aids to also bring suspension of US military aid
- 2:29Speaker 2: to Ukraine.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I'll have more on that for you in a moment.
- 2:33Speaker 2: But what we do know is this, the Republican led
- 2:35Speaker 2: House and Senate, they are listening to the President for
- 2:38Speaker 2: leadership as they're trying to hammer out a major budget
- 2:42Speaker 2: legislation package that supports Donald Trump's agenda, including the extension
- 2:48Speaker 2: of his twenty sixteen Trump tax cuts, as well as
- 2:52Speaker 2: securing the US Mexico border and stopping the flow of fetnyl.
- 2:56Speaker 2: During his speech to Congress will be themes I've been
- 2:59Speaker 2: told by several at the White House. Now, during Trump's
- 3:02Speaker 2: first month in office, illegal border crossings drop to their
- 3:06Speaker 2: lowest levels in more than two decades, that according to
- 3:09Speaker 2: government statistics. Now, with his Department of Government Efficiency, headed
- 3:14Speaker 2: by Elon Muss, creating much fanfare due to the staff
- 3:17Speaker 2: cuts and the findings of massive waste, fraud and abuse,
- 3:22Speaker 2: there is assurances that Donald Trump will also address exactly
- 3:26Speaker 2: what DOGE has done for the American people. Now, finally,
- 3:29Speaker 2: you can also expect the President to talk about his
- 3:31Speaker 2: tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada and an additional
- 3:35Speaker 2: tariff on China. Trump has said the tariffs will go
- 3:39Speaker 2: into effect Tuesday if there is no movement from other
- 3:43Speaker 2: countries to get better deals with the United States, and
- 3:47Speaker 2: it is something that he will proudly talk about as
- 3:49Speaker 2: he addresses Congress. Now, one final point that you should
- 3:53Speaker 2: also make note of watching when the President speaks tonight,
- 3:56Speaker 2: is honestly just how excited he is and how much
- 4:00Speaker 2: funn he's having doing what the American people have told
- 4:04Speaker 2: him to do. There does seem to be a very
- 4:06Speaker 2: different Donald Trump this time than what we saw in
- 4:08Speaker 2: twenty sixteen, and that is something that many Americans are
- 4:12Speaker 2: saying they're enjoying watching.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Next story number two.
- 4:16Speaker 2: One of the most important campaign promises from Donald Trump
- 4:19Speaker 2: was that if he was elected, he was going to
- 4:21Speaker 2: go after the cartel members and declare that they are
- 4:24Speaker 2: terrorist organizations. He promised to do more to keep Americans
- 4:28Speaker 2: safe from these terrorist organizations, and well, they're paying off
- 4:32Speaker 2: right away. The new FBI director Caspttel announced the apprehension
- 4:37Speaker 2: of eight Mexicans wanted for murder and major drug trafficking.
- 4:43Speaker 2: The federal Bureau of Investigations announcing that the agency took
- 4:47Speaker 2: into United States, cussing the eight men from Mexico wanted
- 4:51Speaker 2: by the FBI for murder and drug trafficking charges this week.
- 4:55Speaker 2: In fact, two were FBI top ten most wanted fear
- 5:00Speaker 2: fugitives quote, the FBI and our partners will scour the
- 5:05Speaker 2: ends of the earth to bring terris and cartel members
- 5:09Speaker 2: to justice. Cashpitel said in a statement, the error of
- 5:13Speaker 2: harming Americans and walking free is over. The eight men
- 5:18Speaker 2: included Rafael Caro Quintero, a former FBI top ten most
- 5:23Speaker 2: Wanted fugitive, wanted for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping
- 5:27Speaker 2: and the murder of Drug Enforcement Administration special Agent Salazar
- 5:33Speaker 2: back in nineteen eighty five. The FBI said that Quintero
- 5:37Speaker 2: is widely regarded as one of the Mexican godfathers of
- 5:41Speaker 2: drug trafficking and helped to form the Guadalajara Cartel in
- 5:45Speaker 2: the late nineteen seventies. Allegedly, he had become one of
- 5:49Speaker 2: the primary suppliers of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.
- 5:53Speaker 1: The US and.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Oversaw the cartel in Costa Rica and at the US
- 5:58Speaker 2: Mexico border. Another major rests was a man by the
- 6:01Speaker 2: name of Jose Hernandez, also known as Elgato. He is
- 6:05Speaker 2: another former FBI Top ten most Wanted fugitive who has
- 6:09Speaker 2: also been apprehended. He is allegedly responsible for stalking and
- 6:14Speaker 2: orchestrating the murder for hire of a forty three year
- 6:17Speaker 2: old male victim in May of twenty thirteen in South Lake, Texas.
- 6:22Speaker 2: According to the FBI, Hernandez previously held a high level
- 6:26Speaker 2: position in the BLO drug cartel and is believed to
- 6:30Speaker 2: have overseen the importation of large quantities of cocaine into
- 6:35Speaker 2: the US, as well as committing violent acts within the
- 6:39Speaker 2: Republic of Mexico and within the US to maintain his
- 6:43Speaker 2: organization's power and status. He was arrested January the seventh
- 6:48Speaker 2: of twenty twenty three in Mexico. Now the case was
- 6:52Speaker 2: investigated by the FBI and now they have him in custody,
- 6:57Speaker 2: also charging him for Inner States stalking and conspiracy to
- 7:02Speaker 2: commit murder for higher Now, these are just two of
- 7:06Speaker 2: the ten major arrests, and the question that every American
- 7:09Speaker 2: should be asking right now is this, Why is it
- 7:12Speaker 2: that so many of these people were allowed to walk
- 7:15Speaker 2: free Among US and around the world and to terrorize
- 7:19Speaker 2: Americans under the previous administration. Yes, it really does come
- 7:23Speaker 2: down to leadership because when the president changed and he
- 7:27Speaker 2: started making changes at the FBI. Now it is clear
- 7:30Speaker 2: that these cartel terrorists are on notice that we're coming
- 7:35Speaker 2: for you.
- 7:35Speaker 3: And finally, story number three.
- 7:37Speaker 2: In a major move, President Trump has halted We've now
- 7:41Speaker 2: being told all weapon sales to Ukraine. We also are
- 7:44Speaker 2: being told that Donald Trump is considering freezing weapons shipments
- 7:48Speaker 2: from the US stockpiles. This coming from a Wall Street
- 7:51Speaker 2: Journal exclusive. Let me give you some more of the background.
- 7:54Speaker 2: The Trump administration, they have confirmed, has halted new weapon
- 7:58Speaker 2: sales to Ukraine and they are contemplating freezing all shipments
- 8:03Speaker 2: from US stockpiles, actions that could significantly impair Ukraine's defense
- 8:09Speaker 2: against Russian forces. This decision follows a contentious Oval Office
- 8:13Speaker 2: meeting between Trump and Zlensky, during which Trump criticizes Zlenski's
- 8:17Speaker 2: assertion that the wars end might be distant and suggested
- 8:21Speaker 2: the US military aid could be suspended if Ukraine does
- 8:24Speaker 2: not actively pursue peace negotiations with the US. Now, the
- 8:29Speaker 2: suspension includes halting new deals through the US Foreign Military
- 8:33Speaker 2: financing system, which is vital for maintaining Ukraine's military capabilities.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Analysts are warning that without US support, Ukraine's ability to
- 8:43Speaker 2: resist Russian aggression could be severely compromised. European allies and
- 8:48Speaker 2: Ukraine's defense industry may partially be able to compensate. We're
- 8:52Speaker 2: also hearing at this hour, but the loss of advanced
- 8:55Speaker 2: US weaponry presents a significant challenge. European leaders have expresed
- 9:00Speaker 2: concern over the shift in US foreign policy. The French
- 9:03Speaker 2: President Macron has proposed a temporary truce to facilitate the
- 9:08Speaker 2: negotiations with Europe, showing willingness to support peacekeeping efforts, although
- 9:12Speaker 2: Trump remains resistance to any US government involvement. European officials
- 9:18Speaker 2: are advocating for a truce and calling for US European unity,
- 9:22Speaker 2: while Trump has signaled that Zelensky must agree to a
- 9:25Speaker 2: ceasefire on US terms or face potential consequences. Now, the
- 9:29Speaker 2: Trump administration and these recent actions indicate a significant shift
- 9:34Speaker 2: in the US foreign policy regarding the Russia Ukraine conflict,
- 9:38Speaker 2: especially after the way that Zelensky acted in the Oval office,
- 9:42Speaker 2: making it very clear he is profiting off war and
- 9:45Speaker 2: has no intention of stopping this war or negotiating for
- 9:49Speaker 2: peace now. This move also puts Zelensky in an awkward
- 9:53Speaker 2: situation with the Ukrainian citizens.
- 9:56Speaker 1: There has not been an election there since the war
- 9:58Speaker 1: broke out.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Many believe the he is a dictator, a de facto
- 10:02Speaker 2: leader of the country, because no one really knows who
- 10:05Speaker 2: supports him. And if you're a citizen in Ukraine and
- 10:08Speaker 2: you see that the number one thing that is keeping
- 10:11Speaker 2: you somewhat safe, which is US military armory, and you're
- 10:15Speaker 2: going to lose that, then the people in Ukraine may
- 10:20Speaker 2: turn against Zolensky. This is the first time we've seen
- 10:23Speaker 2: major leaders in Ukraine standing up to Zolensky. The question
- 10:26Speaker 2: now will be what will happen in the days and
- 10:29Speaker 2: weeks ahead as the man who says he's in charge
- 10:32Speaker 2: of Ukraine returns now. Zelensky has been blasted by Ukrainian
- 10:36Speaker 2: lawmakers for the first time publicly for arguing with President Trump,
- 10:40Speaker 2: because even they understand just how important the relationship is.
- 10:45Speaker 2: A prominent Ukrainian lawmaker declared it was absolute idiocy for
- 10:49Speaker 2: President Zelensky to openly argue with the US President Trump
- 10:52Speaker 2: in front of the world during their oval office meeting
- 10:54Speaker 2: on Friday. The member of the Parliament in Kiev lamented
- 10:58Speaker 2: that Ukrainian's relationship with Trump came to an end on
- 11:01Speaker 2: Friday after a heated White House meeting, and he accused
- 11:05Speaker 2: Zolensky of not understanding what leadership actually looks like. He
- 11:09Speaker 2: went on to write on Facebook, absolute idiocy to start
- 11:13Speaker 2: arguing all caps where the President of the United States
- 11:16Speaker 2: in front of the cameras, adding that it can be
- 11:19Speaker 2: done and probably should be done, but not in front
- 11:22Speaker 2: of the cameras. It's the first time we've seen major
- 11:25Speaker 2: leaders in Ukraine standing up to Zolensky. The question now
- 11:29Speaker 2: will be what will happen in the days and weeks
- 11:32Speaker 2: ahead as the man who says he's in charge of
- 11:34Speaker 2: Ukraine returns.
