- 0:25Speaker 1: Good Tuesday morning. It's so nice to have you with
- 0:27Speaker 1: us on the forty seven Morning Update, and we've got
- 0:29Speaker 1: two major stories for you. First up, we're hearing now
- 0:33Speaker 1: from Donald Trump's White House. An executive order is on
- 0:37Speaker 1: its way over deep banking of conservatives by small, mid size,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and especially large banks that are attacking Conservatives and Christians
- 0:49Speaker 1: solely based because of their belief system. I'll break that
- 0:53Speaker 1: down for you in a second. Plus, a major fight
- 0:56Speaker 1: happening right now in Texas. Yes, Democrats are leaving the
- 1:02Speaker 1: state over redistricting battle, and it's a big problem that
- 1:06Speaker 1: could expand all over the country as Democrats are holding
- 1:10Speaker 1: state legislators hostage as they're trying to redistrict based on
- 1:15Speaker 1: what the voters wanted. What does this mean moving forward?
- 1:19Speaker 1: I'll explain it all to you. All right, I want
- 1:21Speaker 1: to take a moment talk about the economy. You've been
- 1:23Speaker 1: seeing what's happening on Wall Street, You've seen what's been

- 3:40Speaker 1: forty seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 3:44Speaker 1: In a major move to protect all Americans, the White
- 3:49Speaker 1: House we're now being told is preparing a new executive
- 3:52Speaker 1: order that would find banks, small, medium, and the largest
- 3:58Speaker 1: for dropping customers for political reasons. The Wall Street Journal
- 4:02Speaker 1: is reporting on it now. The order directs bank regulators
- 4:07Speaker 1: to investigate whether any financial institutions might have violated the
- 4:12Speaker 1: Equal Credit Opportunity Act, antitrust laws, or consumer financial protection laws,
- 4:19Speaker 1: the Journal reported, citing a draft text of the order.
- 4:22Speaker 1: The order, which could be signed as early as this week,
- 4:26Speaker 1: provides for monetary penalties, consent decrees, or other disciplinary measures
- 4:31Speaker 1: against violators. The order also directs regulators to strike policies
- 4:37Speaker 1: they have that might have contributed to banks dropping certain customers,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and requires the Small Business Association to review the practices
- 4:46Speaker 1: of banks that guarantee the agency's loans. Now, this is
- 4:51Speaker 1: a major move for protecting specifically conservatives that have been
- 4:56Speaker 1: debanked by large banks and small bank alike. There are
- 5:01Speaker 1: many in the Second Amendment community that have also been
- 5:04Speaker 1: debanked as well. There are Christian organizations that have been debanked,
- 5:08Speaker 1: missionary organizations that have been debanked, and conservative organizations that
- 5:15Speaker 1: have been debanked, especially during the Biden years. Now, the
- 5:19Speaker 1: President saying you can't do that, it's un American and
- 5:23Speaker 1: we're not going to allow it to stand. Now. Reuters
- 5:26Speaker 1: is also reporting at this hour that the White House
- 5:29Speaker 1: is apparently working on this at a rapid pace because
- 5:34Speaker 1: they believe it is time to hold banks accountable that
- 5:36Speaker 1: targeted people specifically for their political beliefs. Now, after speaking
- 5:41Speaker 1: with people at the White House late this afternoon, here's
- 5:44Speaker 1: what I can also tell you. The White House, I've
- 5:47Speaker 1: been told, is in fact preparing an executive order that
- 5:50Speaker 1: would empower the regulators to penalize banks for quote, terminating
- 5:55Speaker 1: customer relationships based on political beliefs. These penalty could include
- 6:00Speaker 1: hefty fines, I'm being told, and also disciplinary actions. Now,
- 6:05Speaker 1: financial regulators would be instructed to investigate potential breaches not
- 6:10Speaker 1: only the Equal Credit Opportunity Act I mentioned earlier and
- 6:14Speaker 1: antitrust laws, but also consumer protection regulations by banks accused
- 6:19Speaker 1: of politically motivated actions against those who had bank accounts
- 6:24Speaker 1: at their bank. The draft order also calls on policymakers
- 6:29Speaker 1: to revoke existing internal bank policies that actually may have
- 6:33Speaker 1: led to politically motivated account closures, and directs the Small
- 6:37Speaker 1: Business Administration to review loan back practices that could involve
- 6:42Speaker 1: similar issues as well. Now, although no banks are mentioned
- 6:46Speaker 1: by name, the order appears tied to public criticism of
- 6:50Speaker 1: major institutions such as JP, Morgan Chase and Bank of
- 6:55Speaker 1: America accused of severing ties with conservative club giance, a
- 7:01Speaker 1: charge that of course they strongly deny, and the Wall
- 7:04Speaker 1: Street Journal has reported on this extensively recently. Now, according
- 7:08Speaker 1: to others, the order could be signed like I said
- 7:11Speaker 1: this week, potentially spelling major trouble for big banks. Now.
- 7:16Speaker 1: This move reflects Donald Trump's ongoing concern, especially from conservative circles,
- 7:22Speaker 1: about political bias or debanking and financial services. It forms
- 7:27Speaker 1: part of a broader regulatory agenda to ensure economic institutions
- 7:32Speaker 1: remain neutral and customers aren't penalized for political beliefs. At
- 7:36Speaker 1: the end of the day, the president of the United
- 7:38Speaker 1: States of America wants to make sure you're not targeted
- 7:41Speaker 1: because you voted for him, and in the future, to
- 7:44Speaker 1: make sure that no matter who you vote for, you're
- 7:46Speaker 1: not targeted by a bank. Now, the order has not
- 7:49Speaker 1: been officially issued yet, and there's a very good chance
- 7:52Speaker 1: there will be changes that are made in the coming
- 7:56Speaker 1: days and hours. Banks and regulators also are remaining relatively
- 8:01Speaker 1: quiet and the White House is saying they're willing to talk,
- 8:04Speaker 1: but there's many that are scared what may be coming
- 8:07Speaker 1: down the pipeline. And the big question is this, which
- 8:11Speaker 1: agencies are actually going to lead enforcement oversight I'm being
- 8:15Speaker 1: told is likely going to be by federal banking regulators,
- 8:19Speaker 1: the Department of Justice, and the SPA. Implementation details are
- 8:24Speaker 1: going to work through the White House and the hours
- 8:27Speaker 1: and days ahead at the end of the day. What
- 8:30Speaker 1: does this mean, Well, it means that Donald Trump's looking
- 8:33Speaker 1: out for conservatives that have been targeted solely because of
- 8:36Speaker 1: our political beliefs, and that's exactly why so many Americans.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Voted for now story number two.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Over fifty Texas House Democrats, including sixty two members total
- 8:49Speaker 1: in the lower chamber, have left Texas, traveling to Illinois,
- 8:53Speaker 1: New York, and Massachusetts. Well, at least they're consistent up
- 8:56Speaker 1: there being sanctuary states and cities to deny quorum and
- 9:02Speaker 1: block a GOP back congressional redistricting plan that would likely
- 9:06Speaker 1: add up to five new Republican leaning US House seats.
- 9:10Speaker 1: That is the claim by Democrats and why they're now
- 9:13Speaker 1: fleeing the state. Now, this strategy mirrors previous walkouts in
- 9:17Speaker 1: twenty twenty one and in two thousand and three in Texas,
- 9:21Speaker 1: where the quorum rules were used to slow down legislation.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Governor Greg Abbott has now responded, issuing a three pm
- 9:29Speaker 1: Monday ultimatum for Democrats to return or face serious consequences.
- 9:36Speaker 1: He threatened to quote invoke a twenty twenty one AG
- 9:39Speaker 1: opinion allowing courts to clear seats vacant due to intentional
- 9:44Speaker 1: quote abandonment of office. He also could seek civil arrest
- 9:49Speaker 1: warrants for absent members, valid only however, inside of Texas,
- 9:54Speaker 1: which is why so many Democrats have fled to liberal states. Also,
- 9:59Speaker 1: he can invest gave potential felony charges for fundraising to
- 10:03Speaker 1: pay the five hundred dollars a day fines that are
- 10:06Speaker 1: being imposed by the House rules. Now, the Texas House
- 10:10Speaker 1: passed an eighty five to six vote authorizing the Sergeant
- 10:15Speaker 1: in Arms to issue civil arrest warrants for those that
- 10:18Speaker 1: were purposely absent. Now, breaking quorum, by the way, is
- 10:23Speaker 1: not a crime, making extradition impossible. Abbot cannot legally compel
- 10:29Speaker 1: lawmakers to return from other states directly, is what is
- 10:34Speaker 1: being said now by Politico. Declarations of vacancy would require
- 10:38Speaker 1: individual court action in each lawmaker's district, potentially years of
- 10:43Speaker 1: litigation and would delay redistrict came beyond the December twenty
- 10:47Speaker 1: twenty five deadline for the twenty twenty six primaries. And
- 10:51Speaker 1: that's exactly why Democrats are playing this game. Texas Democrats
- 10:56Speaker 1: maintain they are quote standing up for democratic norms, not
- 11:01Speaker 1: running away. You can decide how ridiculous they actually are
- 11:04Speaker 1: in your own minds. But many of the representatives are
- 11:07Speaker 1: now taking more heat. Why because they are prioritizing the
- 11:13Speaker 1: democrats agenda over prioritizing flood relief. Yes, that was one
- 11:19Speaker 1: of the issues on the table that they're now fleeing from.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I'll give you just another example of also how many
- 11:25Speaker 1: liberal cities are helping them and states. The Illinois governor
- 11:29Speaker 1: Pritzker publicly back the lawmaker's actions, calling them a courageous
- 11:34Speaker 1: defense of democracy and saying welcome to Illinois. Democrats are
- 11:39Speaker 1: characterizing the Governor of Texas Abbot's threats as quote smoking mirrors,
- 11:44Speaker 1: pointing out that constitutional tools like quorum breaks are legitimate
- 11:49Speaker 1: devices they say to use under Texas law. Here's more
- 11:53Speaker 1: of what Governor Abbott had to say about what the
- 11:56Speaker 1: Democrats are doing and now what they're going to face.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Very simply, it would be bribery if any lawmaker took
- 12:04Speaker 2: money to perform or to refuse to perform and act
- 12:08Speaker 2: in the legislature. And the reports are these legislators have
- 12:13Speaker 2: been both. They sought money and they offered money to
- 12:18Speaker 2: skip the vote to leave the legislature to take a
- 12:23Speaker 2: legislative act. That would be bribery. And so the facts
- 12:27Speaker 2: will have to come out. But I think based upon
- 12:29Speaker 2: comments made by legislators themselves, they face a possibility facing
- 12:34Speaker 2: bribery charges, which is a second degree felony in the
- 12:37Speaker 2: state of Texas. There's one way to cure that, and
- 12:39Speaker 2: that is if they get back to the state of
- 12:42Speaker 2: Texas and make quorum today are hearing that we have
- 12:45Speaker 2: at the three o'clock they can cure themselves of any
- 12:48Speaker 2: quid pro quo that would subject them to potential bribery charges.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Well, guess what Democrats decided not to come back by
- 12:56Speaker 1: three o'clock and why because apparently they love the idea
- 13:00Speaker 1: of being arrested and saying they're being politically persecuted. Now,
- 13:04Speaker 1: the one takeaway from this is pretty simple and clear.
- 13:08Speaker 1: You can expect Democrats to probably pull the same exaction
- 13:11Speaker 1: in against you're witnessing right now in other states around
- 13:15Speaker 1: the country, and they're using Texas as the blueprint for it.
