- 0:14Speaker 1: just like the American buck bus things. And it's cub
- 0:18Speaker 1: y'all me true good to the hardy one to move
- 0:26Speaker 1: to other for sto bar Hobby, don't you join? Yeah?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Well hobby joining me? Honey? Do you turn to go? Yeah?
- 1:10Speaker 1: You want you gotta turn you to turn about to
- 1:42Speaker 1: turn lovey, got to turn out to turn wan y.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Come come on your thada uh huh, I shore will
- 2:03Speaker 1: a good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, Come
- 2:07Speaker 1: on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey, I
- 2:10Speaker 1: got a radio show. Yeah, man, real grateful for that.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You know, it's funny man. I remember when I um
- 2:18Speaker 1: first started out in radio. A lot of my peers
- 2:21Speaker 1: laughed at me. It was, you know, some of it
- 2:26Speaker 1: was being mean spirited. Some of it was just you know,
- 2:29Speaker 1: marking me. I'm used to stuff like that. But I
- 2:33Speaker 1: had as a special guest on my show or Joel
- 2:36Speaker 1: Oldstein on my talk show. And you know something, man,
- 2:39Speaker 1: he he said something that was I can't remember the scripture.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I don't know exactly how I where like we were
- 2:44Speaker 1: having a long conversation, but the gist of it was,
- 2:48Speaker 1: don't be upset with where you are now, and don't
- 2:51Speaker 1: be upset with the small things in your life. Be
- 2:54Speaker 1: grateful for the small things and the small position that
- 2:58Speaker 1: you have right now, because you don't know what that
- 2:59Speaker 1: is going You don't know what that's gonna be one day.
- 3:02Speaker 1: You don't know what that's gonna lead to. And that
- 3:04Speaker 1: was very uh warming to hear him say that, But
- 3:09Speaker 1: it also reminded me of when I started in radio,
- 3:11Speaker 1: how small it was. It reminded me of when I
- 3:14Speaker 1: started in stand up making twenty five dollars a show.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It reminded me of the cause I used to drive
- 3:24Speaker 1: and the cause I didn't have. It reminds me of
- 3:28Speaker 1: not having a home at a period in my life
- 3:33Speaker 1: and what God has allowed me to live in now.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So don't be distraught over your position now and don't
- 3:42Speaker 1: be ungrateful or unappreciative for the things you have now
- 3:46Speaker 1: because you don't know what that's gonna grow into. And
- 3:49Speaker 1: that's really the gist of what he got that I
- 3:51Speaker 1: that I got from what he was saying. I just
- 3:54Speaker 1: wanted to share that with you, that where you are now.
- 3:57Speaker 1: It's so temporary because now, like I've said, for now
- 4:01Speaker 1: is a fleeting moment. As soon as you say now,
- 4:04Speaker 1: right after you finished saying now, that moment that you
- 4:08Speaker 1: claimed as now, that's gone. So the where you are
- 4:12Speaker 1: now it's a very fleeting process. Now you can change
- 4:16Speaker 1: where you are now, and you can change how you
- 4:20Speaker 1: feel about where you're at now, and you can change
- 4:23Speaker 1: about where you're going by simply changing your mind. It
- 4:27Speaker 1: is no difference. I'm telling you, folks. The thing that
- 4:31Speaker 1: I've learned about successful people is not so much what
- 4:35Speaker 1: they do. It's not what they have, is not how
- 4:40Speaker 1: I see them functioning. The biggest thing I've learned about
- 4:43Speaker 1: successful people is how they think. That's the thing that's different.
- 4:49Speaker 1: It's how they think. And I'm telling you that you
- 4:53Speaker 1: can change the way you think on any subject and
- 4:56Speaker 1: start becoming successful towards that starting now, and that you
- 5:02Speaker 1: have to understand that. Man, the biggest difference I've noticed
- 5:06Speaker 1: between successful people and non successful people is how they think.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I was reading what is God said that he was
- 5:16Speaker 1: taught all wrong about money. He said that his father
- 5:19Speaker 1: was very negative about money. He all throughout his life
- 5:23Speaker 1: he heard his father say, you know, people who got
- 5:26Speaker 1: money have walked on somebody to get it, or cheated
- 5:29Speaker 1: somebody to get it. People who have money, money is
- 5:32Speaker 1: the root of all evil. Money is money is this
- 5:35Speaker 1: And people who got money, you know, don't deserve it.
- 5:39Speaker 1: They've done something wrong to get it, y'ad y'all. So
- 5:41Speaker 1: he said, he grew up the whole time thinking that
- 5:44Speaker 1: having money was something was wrong with that. He discovered
- 5:47Speaker 1: that it wasn't. You know. Now, Look, you can choose
- 5:52Speaker 1: to be successful in any way you want to. I've
- 5:54Speaker 1: chosen several ways to be successful. I want to be
- 5:57Speaker 1: a very, very successful father. I think that's one of
- 6:00Speaker 1: the things that's paramount in my life that I really
- 6:04Speaker 1: am working hard right now to become a successful father.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Not a successful father in terms of money, but a
- 6:12Speaker 1: successful father in terms of offering the amount of love
- 6:17Speaker 1: and guidance and leadership and the example that my children
- 6:21Speaker 1: need to look at. And that's what I'm really really
- 6:23Speaker 1: working hard at now. I want to be successful as
- 6:26Speaker 1: a father, but also I want to be successful as
- 6:29Speaker 1: a husband. You know, I want Marjorie to always know
- 6:32Speaker 1: that she can count on me, that to not have
- 6:34Speaker 1: to wonder about me a look for me. You know.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I want her to feel secure in the fact that
- 6:40Speaker 1: I really have gotten it right, that I really am
- 6:44Speaker 1: focused on being a good husband to her, because it
- 6:47Speaker 1: means so much to me, having gone through everything I've
- 6:50Speaker 1: gone through and having God to have at this stage
- 6:54Speaker 1: of my life giving me such a wonderful gift. I
- 6:57Speaker 1: want to want to show her how much I appreciate it. Uh,
- 7:00Speaker 1: you know. So, I'm working hard on a lot of levels.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'm working hard and trying very strong to be a
- 7:06Speaker 1: successful motivator of people. I want to be a sharer
- 7:10Speaker 1: of information to people that will uplift others and give
- 7:13Speaker 1: others the same things that I've learned through the trials
- 7:17Speaker 1: and tribulations of my life. But at the same time
- 7:20Speaker 1: share that information and use the power this microphone to
- 7:25Speaker 1: uplift people, you know, not to destroy. My show is
- 7:27Speaker 1: not about guess what's go on? So said? Guess what's
- 7:30Speaker 1: going so did. I don't like mean spirited things about people,
- 7:34Speaker 1: you know, I joke with people calling this that's another thing.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But I don't like destroying people with the power to microphone.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So working very hard on being successful in a lot
- 7:42Speaker 1: of areas of my life now. Also, I do care
- 7:45Speaker 1: about being financially successful too, because my father the one
- 7:50Speaker 1: one of the gifts he gave me was very simple gift.
- 7:53Speaker 1: He told me a long time ago. He said, son,
- 7:55Speaker 1: the best thing you can do for poor people is
- 7:58Speaker 1: not be one of them. And that stuck with me.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And this was a hard working man who was a
- 8:04Speaker 1: coal miner who worked construction his entire life. My father
- 8:09Speaker 1: didn't have an easy life man. My father didn't sit
- 8:12Speaker 1: behind a microphone. My father didn't come to work and
- 8:15Speaker 1: people cheered for him. My father wasn't famous. My father
- 8:19Speaker 1: was just a go get it dude. That he instilled
- 8:22Speaker 1: that in me. And I've taken that and applied it
- 8:24Speaker 1: to my craft and I thank God for him for that.
- 8:27Speaker 1: But I do try to be financially successful so that
- 8:30Speaker 1: I can do some things with it to help some
- 8:32Speaker 1: other people. Now, am I opposed to having nice things? No?
- 8:37Speaker 1: Do I apologize for having nice things? No? And why
- 8:40Speaker 1: should I I work? I work? You know, I'm done.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm not on the radio asking to give
- 8:46Speaker 1: me money, you know, so I can go buy a car.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I'm working. So I don't feel how you want to feel.
- 8:52Speaker 1: And other people do feel that way about it. But
- 8:55Speaker 1: if success in terms of finance, it's what you're lacking,
- 8:58Speaker 1: you can go about the big isn't of doing that.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I'm writing a book, and that whole book is about
- 9:04Speaker 1: teaching people how to become successful. And Man, I'm breaking
- 9:08Speaker 1: it down in a way where everybody can get it, man,
- 9:11Speaker 1: because I want the college student to get it, you know,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I want I want the working mom to get it,
- 9:16Speaker 1: the single mom to get it, the the the hard
- 9:20Speaker 1: working father that has been trying to hold his family
- 9:23Speaker 1: together can get it. The father that ain't ever got
- 9:26Speaker 1: it together and feel that because of that reason, he
- 9:28Speaker 1: can't be the father he needs to be. I'm writing something, man,
- 9:32Speaker 1: to put it into words, to let you know that
- 9:35Speaker 1: God is a forgiving God, and that God is a
- 9:38Speaker 1: merciful God, and that God can get you out of
- 9:41Speaker 1: any situation you find yourself in. You just can't beat
- 9:45Speaker 1: yourself up every time you make a mistake. I make
- 9:48Speaker 1: mistakes all the time, man, I just got to remind
- 9:50Speaker 1: myself to get up. I ask God for forgiveness, I
- 9:54Speaker 1: call on his mercy and it's grace and I get
- 9:56Speaker 1: up and I go again. But it's coming, man, And
- 9:59Speaker 1: to find success is what you want. You got to
- 10:02Speaker 1: change your mind. You got to start thinking about how
- 10:05Speaker 1: to produce it. You got what you gotta just this
- 10:08Speaker 1: is not what you do first. The first thing you
- 10:10Speaker 1: do is you gotta ask. You gotta ask ask to
- 10:15Speaker 1: have a life and have a life more abundantly. That's
- 10:18Speaker 1: a scripture that he comes to you to give you
- 10:22Speaker 1: life and to give you life more abundantly. That's the scripture.
- 10:26Speaker 1: That ain't a joke, that ain't a theory. That's a fact,
- 10:30Speaker 1: and the fact that if you don't have a life
- 10:32Speaker 1: of abundance, you can get that by asking. Now follow
- 10:36Speaker 1: the rest of it, But it starts by asking. Then
- 10:39Speaker 1: it starts by believing, and how to don't even worry
- 10:42Speaker 1: about that. He takes care of that himself. He'll send
- 10:45Speaker 1: the stuff your way. But you gotta be willing to
- 10:47Speaker 1: put some effort in this thing now, and you can
- 10:50Speaker 1: do it. Okay. I know I was a little around
- 10:52Speaker 1: the place today, but that's what it was. So you know,
- 10:55Speaker 1: let's go get it all right. You're ladies and gentlemen,
- 11:03Speaker 1: boys and girls, people from all around the world. You
- 11:06Speaker 1: are listening to the baddest more without a doubt, this
- 11:10Speaker 1: is Steve Harvan Martin Show, Today's show. Come on, make
- 11:14Speaker 1: it good now it's dedicated, Come on to eat it.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Body who loves the art or shooting dice? Man, Man,
- 11:26Speaker 1: it's an art. You gotta know what you're doing. Man,
- 11:28Speaker 1: you really do. What's art about? You think it's no
- 11:32Speaker 1: art to but there's definitely art. You got what you're doing.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It's not just well, no, it's not all luck. But
- 11:40Speaker 1: you know, dice shooting is luck because you know you
- 11:43Speaker 1: can't control them dice. You know when they when you
- 11:47Speaker 1: get when the dice are laying on the table, how
- 11:50Speaker 1: you set them well, I mean you know it's no
- 11:53Speaker 1: particular way. You just gotta throw them down there. So
- 11:55Speaker 1: it's no art to it. Then it's just luck. Well,
- 11:59Speaker 1: it's it's a lot of luck in dice shooting, but
- 12:02Speaker 1: it's a favorable odds based on certain things. When you
- 12:05Speaker 1: shoot dice, it's strategically done. They throw dice a hundred
- 12:11Speaker 1: and forty four times. Out of that hundred and forty
- 12:14Speaker 1: four times, they know the number that's gonna pop up
- 12:17Speaker 1: the most is seven because you can get it with
- 12:22Speaker 1: a five and a two or six and a one
- 12:24Speaker 1: or four and three. So that's the most highly likely number.
- 12:27Speaker 1: That's out of a hundred and forty four tosses. If
- 12:30Speaker 1: you read gambling books, it will show you out a
- 12:32Speaker 1: hundred forty four tosses, how many times on the average
- 12:35Speaker 1: that seven will come up? A minute? Excuse me, if
- 12:37Speaker 1: you read gambling books. I thought gambling books, I didn't know.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I didn't know that there's people that do it for
- 12:50Speaker 1: a living. Now, if you're on the table, you know,
- 12:52Speaker 1: and you got a good little run, somebody could actually throw.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I've thrown the dice eighteen rolls without crapping. What you
- 13:00Speaker 1: mean hitting a seven? Oh? I thought you had a problem.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I didn't know. Have you ever had somebody playing with
- 13:09Speaker 1: trick dice on? Well? No, not not not in Vegas.
- 13:14Speaker 1: We're not in Vegas. I'm just saying, like black back
- 13:16Speaker 1: home in Cleveland, just shooting dice. Anybody ever had the
- 13:19Speaker 1: trick dice? I hear about trick. Yeah, when we're on
- 13:22Speaker 1: the corners, Castle switched dice on you in a minute.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Dude can't bring in the dice and the dice is red.
- 13:30Speaker 1: But he bought the dice, and he got a loaded
- 13:32Speaker 1: pair of dice with him, you know, and loaded dice
- 13:36Speaker 1: gonna always land on seven. So when you throw out first,
- 13:42Speaker 1: you can throw a seven seven of win your money
- 13:45Speaker 1: on your first roll until you get a point. Very interesting.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I don't gamble that all well. I remember when we
- 13:58Speaker 1: were little, Mother would not let us play games with
- 14:03Speaker 1: dice in them and stuff like that. We couldn't. She
- 14:06Speaker 1: thought it was a sin. We couldn't do it, like
- 14:10Speaker 1: Monopoly and stuff. She thought it was a sin. Y'all.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Couldn't play Monopoly, any game that had dice with sin,
- 14:18Speaker 1: We couldn't. We couldn't do it dice. Yeah, we gotta go.
- 14:26Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, So Jay,
- 14:31Speaker 1: you've come up with a bit. Oh this is so nice.
- 14:33Speaker 1: You don't really like this at all? Whatever j O left?
- 14:41Speaker 1: Oh my god, Katy, well we about to find out.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Let thought was number one. Stop walking around with stuff
- 14:51Speaker 1: in your broad like your phone, like change, like your purse.
- 14:56Speaker 1: You know where you gotta dig down in so we
- 14:58Speaker 1: can see. Everybody want to see you digging in your
- 15:01Speaker 1: cleavage without quoting something. You don't tease off like that.
- 15:07Speaker 1: And then you got people like Monica sitting over here.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Can't put nothing in him. She put her phone in
- 15:13Speaker 1: that one time. Man, she'll gonna broke her teeth. She
- 15:16Speaker 1: got so much stuff in the water bottle even time.
- 15:23Speaker 1: A crown raw bag is not a purse. Okay, young boys,
- 15:30Speaker 1: do you like to see them crying? Roll back? It
- 15:34Speaker 1: sexy for some reason? Yeah, please stop doing it. That's
- 15:38Speaker 1: the only thing about I don't know how you can
- 15:40Speaker 1: object to that, but y'all they're not cue, so whatever, right, Okay,
- 15:47Speaker 1: if you're gonna wear Capri's no problem. You know those
- 15:49Speaker 1: the pants that stopped right at the calf, right this dame.
- 15:52Speaker 1: You ain't got to win every day, and please take
- 15:58Speaker 1: them damn strings off bottom up. I can't stand that
- 16:02Speaker 1: Junior had on the pad of the day for anybody.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Stop wearing them caprete with them damn strings hanging there, sing,
- 16:12Speaker 1: don't bother you. You don't think something on you? You
- 16:16Speaker 1: like with Lebron war shorts then wasn't then they didn't
- 16:20Speaker 1: have strainings on. I just supported Lebron and I'm trying
- 16:23Speaker 1: to get a championship in Cleveland. I wouldn't be called
- 16:26Speaker 1: dead with a damn short set on. I'll tell you
- 16:29Speaker 1: that right now. Ya. Stranger nut gives a turban is
- 16:37Speaker 1: not coming back. It ain't coming back, you know, with
- 16:40Speaker 1: a little diamond and dad ain't coming back. And I'll
- 16:46Speaker 1: tell you what else ain't ever really in for black women.
- 16:49Speaker 1: The big giant roans in the side of your head. Boy,
- 16:55Speaker 1: you ain't Meetsy Nash, but she's black though. Take that
- 17:00Speaker 1: big rose out the side of your head. We see you,
- 17:04Speaker 1: you already pretty whatever. We need some flower floor on
- 17:11Speaker 1: the side of you. And they get bigger every time
- 17:14Speaker 1: I see it, like a hat segments. You ain't got
- 17:22Speaker 1: to wear a knee brace every damn day. Really, some
- 17:30Speaker 1: people's head. Yeah, a lot of topic copper fit down.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I ain't go once any time. And here you go.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Stop referring to younger men as sugar, honey, dolling baby
- 17:52Speaker 1: was supposed to call me sugar? Do I mean book
- 18:00Speaker 1: sugar and preshious, book and precious and precious? Yeah, here
- 18:06Speaker 1: we go, Here we go. These are things that older
- 18:08Speaker 1: women need to stop doing to attract younger men. You
- 18:13Speaker 1: got one, how you do? Stop wearing these hal to
- 18:19Speaker 1: tops so tight that your back looked like a can
- 18:25Speaker 1: of biscuits. Were somebody to put that spoon on that scene? Whatever?
- 18:34Speaker 1: Your little as you bet your back look like a
- 18:36Speaker 1: can of biscuits. Stop wearing them damn halters. They are
- 18:40Speaker 1: not for you. We don't know whatever. We can't even
- 18:46Speaker 1: see that. We can't even see the straps on the
- 18:48Speaker 1: halter swallowed up your breast all back that round by
- 18:55Speaker 1: your back. If we can see your breast from behind,
- 19:00Speaker 1: you don't need a damn hal to. Okay, what else?
- 19:05Speaker 1: What else? You get a lot of these young men,
- 19:07Speaker 1: a lot of them don't like these older type. You know,
- 19:12Speaker 1: foods like hog malls, shitlands, green sweep, potato pie, pay
- 19:19Speaker 1: the salad had candied yam. Why we got to come
- 19:24Speaker 1: over your house, eat and go to sleep? Why we
- 19:28Speaker 1: got an overload? Damn? You got nothing in here, Martin.
- 19:34Speaker 1: You ain't found another recipe? Six slavery? Who the hell
- 19:41Speaker 1: still puts the hamhock in the damn green sta smoked turkey?
- 19:45Speaker 1: Now you just eating the same giblic even time. Why
- 19:54Speaker 1: am I so sleepy? Because you're eating hog hell hot juice.
- 20:01Speaker 1: It's in them greens. It's putting you to sleep. I
- 20:03Speaker 1: just saw, what the hell? Now? What the hell? All
- 20:07Speaker 1: my one? It was the hamhocks? You got one? Go ahead?
- 20:14Speaker 1: What is it you're walking around the house and your
- 20:17Speaker 1: slip anymore. Last time I've seen the slip with my
- 20:25Speaker 1: mom anymore. Things things the older when they can get
- 20:32Speaker 1: attract younger men. Okay, there's other cologns and confumes out
- 20:37Speaker 1: there besides white Diamond, Stop sitting and avon. Okay, l
- 20:49Speaker 1: number five and pass. They make other things. I don't
- 20:55Speaker 1: know anyone you all forgot. That's that legendary boy. My mama, man,
- 21:06Speaker 1: and let me tell you something. And my mama loved
- 21:08Speaker 1: Lizabeth Taker. My mama thought Lizabeth Taylor was the flies
- 21:12Speaker 1: chick on earth. She just never mentioned all in magic.
- 21:15Speaker 1: My mama was against that. You just never bought some, mama,
- 21:18Speaker 1: how many times you've been. Don't worry about that, don't judge.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I just remember her and Richard. Next, it's the nephew
- 21:26Speaker 1: would run that brankback right after this. You're listening, She's
- 21:30Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Right now, as promised, it's time
- 21:36Speaker 1: for the nephew to run that prank drug test. About
- 21:40Speaker 1: to get the drug test? What are you thinking about drunk? Yeah,
- 21:48Speaker 1: it is running prank. Come on drug test. Hello. Hello,
- 21:54Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach a fake place. This is Hello.
- 21:59Speaker 1: This is Officer Rodgers from the Probation Department. Yes, sir, listen,
- 22:04Speaker 1: now you have been uh on probation for a little
- 22:08Speaker 1: over a year. Now, all right, faith, now you're supposed
- 22:12Speaker 1: to be serving two years probation. All right now, I'm
- 22:17Speaker 1: giving you a call actually bringing you a bit of
- 22:20Speaker 1: bad news. And I hate to do this, but you

- 45:39Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach you, y'all. Mr mrs how you're
- 45:44Speaker 1: doing you? You're the person that does the plumbing work?
- 45:47Speaker 1: Am I? Right? Na? My wife got some work done
- 45:51Speaker 1: for you. You come by the house now, do you know?
- 45:54Speaker 1: I know you probably got quite a bit of work.
- 45:58Speaker 1: I do so many throughout the day. So I have
- 46:01Speaker 1: it on my receiver. I can look at over Hill
- 46:04Speaker 1: about three days ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can recall
- 46:10Speaker 1: was a lady there, Yeah, it was tarlet was backed
- 46:15Speaker 1: up and was overflowing, and yeah yeah, yeah, I can
- 46:18Speaker 1: recall that something's wrong with the sinking there too, and
- 46:21Speaker 1: that that had a leak in the back of it. Yeah,
- 46:24Speaker 1: I had a leak in the back and U, and
- 46:25Speaker 1: I've done that. I fixed that therefore you and uh.
- 46:28Speaker 1: I took that toilet that I had around the bottom
- 46:31Speaker 1: of your basically toilet base there. I had to take
- 46:34Speaker 1: that up and retape it to that tape head came
- 46:37Speaker 1: came loose. It was kind of older. And you know,
- 46:39Speaker 1: I went through that and done all that and and
- 46:41Speaker 1: saved it up and sealed it up and and I
- 46:44Speaker 1: re based that seal back there on your in the
- 46:46Speaker 1: tilet and and your sink had a little leak back
- 46:48Speaker 1: there in the back. I fixed that because you know,
- 46:51Speaker 1: that was really easy. Now, so well, now I see
- 46:54Speaker 1: that it's something that went wrong with the tilet. Not
- 46:57Speaker 1: did you did you put up another pipe or something
- 47:01Speaker 1: that you rewrote a pipe? Anything? No? No, Like I said,
- 47:05Speaker 1: all I did. I took the vase of it off there,
- 47:07Speaker 1: and I taked it up where that old tape there,
- 47:10Speaker 1: and then I'll put me some cement which was was
- 47:13Speaker 1: with with my pipe there, and and I sealed it
- 47:17Speaker 1: all up, and I checked it out and let it
- 47:19Speaker 1: drive and see if it leaked, and it didn't leak,
- 47:21Speaker 1: and I put your base back on and you know,
- 47:23Speaker 1: and then then then you had a little leak there
- 47:26Speaker 1: in your seat, and that was on the top of
- 47:29Speaker 1: the your nozzle there, and I fixed that. I'm gonna
- 47:33Speaker 1: tell you, because I'm gonna be honest with you, can
- 47:35Speaker 1: tell you. I'm not happy with what I got. You're
- 47:38Speaker 1: not happy with it. No, Now, let me tell you
- 47:40Speaker 1: what's happening. Now. Say somebody in the bathroom and they
- 47:45Speaker 1: flushed that tarilet right right when they flushed that tilet
- 47:49Speaker 1: come out the seat in the kitchen. Oh till that
- 47:55Speaker 1: say that what you did again? I said, when they
- 47:58Speaker 1: flushed the tilet in the bath room, right, come out
- 48:01Speaker 1: to shank in the kitchen. It come out in the
- 48:04Speaker 1: kitchen like that. I don't know what how you wropped
- 48:06Speaker 1: something like you didn't you didn't miss routed or something. No,
- 48:09Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't route anything. All I did was
- 48:11Speaker 1: fixed up and put the tape on there. So I
- 48:14Speaker 1: fixed the leak that was. You know, it's a base
- 48:18Speaker 1: of your toilet. I didn't rewrote anything. I don't. I don't.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I don't understand. How can you rewrote a pipe? I don't.
- 48:25Speaker 1: That's not to go into your kitchen. And shoot, we'll
- 48:30Speaker 1: shoot crap out of your kitchen like that. I don't
- 48:32Speaker 1: know what what what you did when you was up
- 48:34Speaker 1: under that and how you rerouted something, but that's what happened,
- 48:37Speaker 1: and it's got, it's got. It's going from the from
- 48:40Speaker 1: that bathroom when you flushed that toilet, it come out
- 48:43Speaker 1: in my sink in my kitchen. Now, what's bad about
- 48:46Speaker 1: it is this morning I'm in there cooking and what's
- 48:50Speaker 1: your name again? My name is? They called me? Okay?
- 48:54Speaker 1: And crop is coming out of your in my in
- 48:58Speaker 1: my kitchen now this morning I set out some red
- 49:01Speaker 1: beans and right to cook, and I put my beans on.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Not not I've been cooking. I've been cooking. Listen at me.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I've been cooking on. I'm trying to be professional about
- 49:10Speaker 1: this because you know, I guarantee my work. I've been
- 49:11Speaker 1: doing this over twenty years. And then one thing I do,
- 49:14Speaker 1: I guarantee of work. And I'm real proud about the
- 49:17Speaker 1: things that you know I do. But what what did
- 49:20Speaker 1: you have anybody else over there working on your pipe?
- 49:23Speaker 1: Ain't nobody in your kitchen? You know what I did
- 49:25Speaker 1: with your bathroom is bathroom. Don't have anything to do
- 49:30Speaker 1: with your kitchen. That's throw a pipe, have anything to
- 49:33Speaker 1: do with one of the others. Then explain that coming
- 49:36Speaker 1: through my sink and my kitchen. I can't explain it
- 49:39Speaker 1: coming from your your seek. I can only explain that's
- 49:43Speaker 1: getting the toilet in your See, I have no idea.
- 49:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna listen because that thing got me ropped up. Listen,
- 49:49Speaker 1: not not what it is. It Well, you got me
- 49:51Speaker 1: kind of wrapped up here because you know what, Like
- 49:53Speaker 1: I said, I do this here and I've been notable
- 49:55Speaker 1: for twenty years and that's first time I ever heard
- 49:57Speaker 1: anything like that. Bedn't happen it. I ain't never say. Well,
- 50:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you it's just disgusting to be cooked
- 50:03Speaker 1: the cook red beans all day and not now find
- 50:06Speaker 1: out that it's sitting in some dirty water like that.
- 50:08Speaker 1: You can't smell the water when you was in the
- 50:10Speaker 1: in your seat, didn't had a lout u s. I
- 50:15Speaker 1: didn't smell nothing. That it's more earlier this morning. I
- 50:17Speaker 1: washed my hand now and I didn't I washed my
- 50:21Speaker 1: hair in there. That's your what it smells like a baggage.
- 50:26Speaker 1: I'm just I just I just refused to believe that
- 50:29Speaker 1: the work I needed on your toilet and there taking
- 50:31Speaker 1: some stuff up and seeming some stuff up and on
- 50:34Speaker 1: your seat had anything to do with scrap me and
- 50:37Speaker 1: shout out to them kitchen seat. Well, I tell you
- 50:40Speaker 1: what what I need to do is for you to
- 50:42Speaker 1: get your back over here and fix it, because this
- 50:45Speaker 1: here ain't a good job and I don't recommend nobody
- 50:48Speaker 1: using you. Well, first of all, why I'm trying to
- 50:51Speaker 1: be professional about it and you custing me, and that
- 50:54Speaker 1: ain't gonna getting nothing done once come out my plate,
- 50:57Speaker 1: it was no longer professional. Not you had somebody else
- 51:01Speaker 1: over there doing something in your scene. I ain't had nobody.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Do you have a guys just fasing over looking at
- 51:08Speaker 1: it ain't on the whalings and crowd coming out of
- 51:12Speaker 1: my God, you get your back over and you fix
- 51:14Speaker 1: with youth bold to fix and fix it right now.
- 51:17Speaker 1: I'm not paying another damn dying for it. Ain't I
- 51:22Speaker 1: tied to me profession about it. I'm listening to what
- 51:24Speaker 1: you gotta say. I shout hunt up a long time
- 51:27Speaker 1: ago when I get her team of work, and I'm
- 51:29Speaker 1: trying to, you know, deal with the customers. When I left,
- 51:33Speaker 1: I told let the pressure to it. She flushed to it.
- 51:35Speaker 1: She ran the faster in the bathroom. We ain't no
- 51:38Speaker 1: problems like you don't have somebody else over now they're
- 51:40Speaker 1: doing whatever. Lord knows what I don't. I damn sure,
- 51:43Speaker 1: I don't know. Do you know? I ain't none of
- 51:45Speaker 1: my fitting. I ain't some of them red beans and
- 51:48Speaker 1: not what bothering me? Now? I feel sick to my stomach.
- 51:51Speaker 1: I'm feeling read meaning what here? You know? It's like

- 52:00Speaker 1: dick something the red beans. If you don't come fick
- 52:02Speaker 1: deep pipe, you can go ahead. I'm trying to be professional.
- 52:06Speaker 1: In fact, I told you I'm doing my job. I
- 52:08Speaker 1: did it the best I know I could. And when
- 52:10Speaker 1: I got when I left there one nothing leaking, one pipe.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Don't you'll get over sixty pipe? That was you? You
- 52:19Speaker 1: your life kiss, because I know well I did. I'll
- 52:24Speaker 1: stand the job over there. You ain't done nothing. If
- 52:26Speaker 1: I got him, pay me in the right, stick them up,
- 52:29Speaker 1: you and your pipes, and I don't. I don't give
- 52:32Speaker 1: a damn I know what's coming on the right. I
- 52:36Speaker 1: ain't done nothing over there in your damn kitchen to
- 52:39Speaker 1: have you that I'm sit with me. I got one
- 52:41Speaker 1: more thing I want to say to you. If you're listening,

- 54:19Speaker 1: grand prize of one million dollars. That is big we're
- 54:26Speaker 1: gonna play. Are you smarter than nephew, tom You're not.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Go to Steve Harvey f M to register right now.
- 54:36Speaker 1: And now it is time for today's Strawberry letter. Nephew.
- 54:39Speaker 1: If you need some advice on relationships, on dating, on work,
- 54:42Speaker 1: on sex, on parenting, and more, please submit your strawberry
- 54:46Speaker 1: letter to Steve Harvey f M dot com and click
- 54:49Speaker 1: submit Strawberry Letters. Please let's go, let's go, let's go
- 54:54Speaker 1: Strawberry letters. Alright, subject, I want a little extra two.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I want a little something extra too. Here's Stephen Shirley.
- 55:02Speaker 1: This is uh, this one is short and sweet. I
- 55:04Speaker 1: actually want Tommy's opinion too. If that's so. You know
- 55:10Speaker 1: it's a crazy letter. No, no, no, but that's you
- 55:13Speaker 1: see how they did this one is shot as sweet.
- 55:19Speaker 1: I actually want time his opinion too. That's right, Oh,
- 55:23Speaker 1: same sentence I get. I've been married to a wonderful
- 55:30Speaker 1: man for the past twelve years, and we have a
- 55:33Speaker 1: great marriage. I have done any and everything to make
- 55:37Speaker 1: him happy. Most importantly, we have a very exciting sex life.
- 55:42Speaker 1: I often let him have threesomes, and I've started to
- 55:45Speaker 1: really enjoy them myself. But there's a big problem. Our
- 55:48Speaker 1: threesomes are always with females. I want to switch it
- 55:52Speaker 1: up and have another man to join us sometimes instead
- 55:55Speaker 1: of a woman. When I bring this up to my husband,
- 55:58Speaker 1: he always gets mad and ends the conversation. Why can't
- 56:02Speaker 1: I have a little something extra too? So it's okay
- 56:05Speaker 1: for him to have all the fun, I don't think.
- 56:07Speaker 1: So what do you guys think? I think you're barking
- 56:10Speaker 1: up the wrong tree. Uh, this is never gonna happen.
- 56:13Speaker 1: This is what happens really when bedroom games go just
- 56:17Speaker 1: a little too far. You say you do any and
- 56:19Speaker 1: everything to make him happy. You have not said one
- 56:22Speaker 1: time in the letter what he does to make you happy?
- 56:24Speaker 1: You asked him, and you see it didn't happen. It's
- 56:27Speaker 1: called a double double standard. Wifey. Um, as crazy as
- 56:31Speaker 1: it seems, just no man really wants to lie back
- 56:34Speaker 1: and watch his wife get done by another man. I mean,
- 56:38Speaker 1: you know, in very rare occasions, it just you know,
- 56:41Speaker 1: very rare occasions maybe, yeah, but generally no, Um, it's
- 56:46Speaker 1: just not gonna happen. He wants to have all the fun,
- 56:48Speaker 1: like you said, and satisfy his fantasies by watching you
- 56:51Speaker 1: and another woman and be able to do another woman
- 56:54Speaker 1: while you don't get mad but actually cheer him on
- 56:58Speaker 1: and don't mind it a bit. A lot of men
- 57:00Speaker 1: will sign up for that if that's what they're into.
- 57:03Speaker 1: But you're tired of his selfishness and the one sidedness
- 57:07Speaker 1: and all of this, right, Well, please realize it's not
- 57:10Speaker 1: going to change, and he will probably never allow another
- 57:13Speaker 1: man in the bedroom, uh, in a threesome. So I say,
- 57:17Speaker 1: shut all of this manag stuff down, shut it down
- 57:20Speaker 1: all together. Try to get back to the intimacy of
- 57:23Speaker 1: the two of you. Uh, and if if you can,
- 57:26Speaker 1: because this kind of relationship, this kind of intrusion in
- 57:29Speaker 1: your marriage and in your bed, uh, it's bound to
- 57:32Speaker 1: cause some major problems and it already is doing that. Steve, Well,
- 57:38Speaker 1: she wants Tommy's opinion. This is right up Tommy's that.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna let Tommy join in, but let me explain
- 57:44Speaker 1: something to you first. Yeah, there can only be one
- 57:48Speaker 1: dangling participle. There can only be one dangling partisanple glad
- 57:56Speaker 1: he said partisan. So had men ain't gonna be in
- 58:01Speaker 1: no room. And it's more than one of these dangling
- 58:05Speaker 1: part of simals in this room because he now is
- 58:08Speaker 1: not a threesome anymore. It's an orgy. Now, we like threesoms.
- 58:13Speaker 1: We don't care for orgies. Come see a pile of
- 58:17Speaker 1: butter is in the flow, and it's some men somewhere
- 58:19Speaker 1: and my my leg touched his leg. See, we gotta
- 58:23Speaker 1: be a problem in hire. Now. I can't look over there,
- 58:27Speaker 1: and all of a sudden he rubbing on my hand.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Wash your hand over you having an orgy? And it's
- 58:41Speaker 1: not This is not a threesome any more. Threesomes is
- 58:45Speaker 1: clearly defined as to what they are. I ain't with
- 58:50Speaker 1: none of this, but Tommy, go ahead. I am with
- 58:54Speaker 1: all of this. Heap giving the threesoms. Don't stop this.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Don't be selfish. It's not about you. If I want
- 59:04Speaker 1: to stop, that's not the issue. She doesn't want to stop.
- 59:07Speaker 1: This is not about her. We're not bringing in no
- 59:10Speaker 1: extra men. You can't that that other man can't graze
- 59:13Speaker 1: up against me. That can't happen. But the threesomes have
- 59:17Speaker 1: to continue. Whoever y'all bringing in there, I tell you
- 59:20Speaker 1: whoever it is sure not ever couldn't say sure. But
- 59:23Speaker 1: but whoever you bringing in there, bring I have. I'm
- 59:30Speaker 1: not saying I have participated, but I have heard about
- 59:34Speaker 1: these engagements and they're wonderful. You want this and if
- 59:39Speaker 1: you start no, I'm just saying, surely, if you started
- 59:41Speaker 1: out doing this for your man, this has to continue. Now,
- 59:46Speaker 1: she said, she enjoys it too, but now she wants
- 59:50Speaker 1: to add a man. See what he's scared over is
- 59:57Speaker 1: you're gonna bring in King Swain. I can't hang. Don't
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: get calm on the boat, rampage everywhere. Well, little man
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: gonna be standing in the corner sucking that boy over
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: that damage in the prophet he over there and told
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: the yard of so bad that y'all don't look like
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: it can be no more good freeze. You ain't here, Holland,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: But Holland, harder and love than when he and that
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: she likes things in threes. Yeah, she wanted a three
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: part answer from all of us. Well, there you have it.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Surely said it right. No man wants to watch another
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: man do his wife. No man wants to watch that.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: And now you seem to enjoy him doing another one,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: and and you another woman in there. You know that's y'all.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: But you know, I'm I see once, Shirley is right,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Once you bring this in, let the games begin. So
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: what you ought to do is just surprise him and
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: had a dude over there. All right, look, coming up,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: we're going to interview Evy Eavyest, season one's winner from
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the singing competition show The four Battle for Stardom. Evy
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: will bring us the world premiere That's right, I said,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: the world premiere of her brand new song, how does
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: It Feel Well? That? Part two Steve's response at Tree
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: after the hour you're listening to Steve Harvey Show. Let's
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: go Steve with part two of your response to today's
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Strawberry letter. So subject Sirley going to do a reactment
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: of what can happen with this woman who's been doing
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: this threesome with a man because she's enjoyed it. Now
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: she thinks he's having all the fun. She wants you

- 1:04:17Speaker 1: we always have a woman, and now I thought, you know,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: we'd bring a guy in and switch it up a
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: little bit. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Do what you work? What? Yes? Yes? What? What? What? What? What? What? What?

- 1:08:08Speaker 1: with your thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter. Alright, coming up
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: in ten minutes, Evy from The four Battle for Stardom
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: will be our special guest. Memphis is in the building. Hey, Memphis,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: you're listening to the Steve Harvey Show. Alright, our special
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: guests were so excited to have this young lady with
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: us today. Her name is Evy. She is a fantastic singer.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: In case you've been watching The Four, as you know,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Evy won the very first season of Fox's hit show,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: The four Battle for Stardom. She was awarded a recording
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: contract with Republic Records, and she's joining us this morning
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: to tell us about her very first single that she's
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: going to debut on or that she debut I should
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: say on The four last night. Let's find out about
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Evy's new music. Please welcome her. She's joining us for
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: the very first time. The one and only. You're going
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: to be a superstar, if not for your voice, for
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: your charming personality. Heavy, Welcome to the show, Heavy, ladies,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: No way, you gotta hear this guy say it. Heavy,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: just say something. It is so good to be. Yeah,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: you're all the way from Memphis, Yes, all the way
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: from weekend you yeah, oh yeah, I missed me for
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: so much. I know that they are just gonna be
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: so happy. Then my single is finally coming out. But
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: I recently moved down here, and it is just a
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: completely different lifestyle. So food difference, different different, yes, very
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: so from Memphis. None of the Southern charm or Southern
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: hospitality that you're used to. Yeah, down I mean down here. Obviously,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: I just talked slower than every man. And so when
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: people are talking to me the like, I guess they
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: kind of already think that I've already said what I'm
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: about to say, but I really haven't. But people just
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: talk a little faster. But it's okay, I'm sure over country.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Tell us about yourself. Though, you grew up in Memphis,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: we mentioned that, So when did you start singing and
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: taking interest and uh, singing as a career and all
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: of that. As long as I can remember, I've always sung.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: I mean, I grew up in the church. I'm the
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: youngest of seven. I have two older sisters and four
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: older brothers, and we all just grew up in the church.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: And you know, we all were in a choir and
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: stuff like that. But being the youngest, like I guess,
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: people didn't really know if I was gonna take it
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: as serious as my other brothers and sisters. But I
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: just I've always loved attention. I've always loved to dance.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: I've always loved to perform. I've always loved to perform.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Like I've never just been a little girl that'll just sing,
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: even in the grocery stores, even at church banquets and
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: stuff like that, I would just perform. I would just
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: want to perform. I would want to hold production the
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: likes to dance, of the music and everything. So now
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: it's like my dreams are just really connecting at a
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: very young age. Yeah, and it's good to have a
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: supportive family, yes man, Yes man, it is very important.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: I mean family to me. And I'm a cancer. My
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: birthday is June's on a seven. I just turned to
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: it one. I can run my own car, you know.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: But I mean having a family support you with dreams
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: as big as saying I want to be a superstar.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: It really takes a strong family to even believe in you,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: to say okay. Then there are certain steps, different types
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: of steps that you have to take as opposed to
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: everybody else, because you're not the average person. You're not
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: somebody who you know. You don't have, you don't you
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: can't work a regular job, so you have to find
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: some way to make money. And I will never forget
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: I was explaining to my mama in in high school,
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: but she already knew. I was telling her, Mom, I
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: don't think I'm I don't think I'm gonna make it
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: the college. I really don't. And it wasn't you know.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: It wasn't like the grades to anything, because I maintained
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: over a four point oh high school career. Make sure, right,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: that's nothing that a parent wants to hear. Yeah, that is.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: That is so I really just appreciate my mama for
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: who she is. Maria McKenna, shout out to you, because
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: we got your baby here. Mhm. Shirley. Remind everybody who
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: we're talking to. Okay, hold on, she's talking to her
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: brother right now. Okay, yeah, she brought her brother here,
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: uh and he supports her. Yeah, but we are talking
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: to the fabulous Eavy. She's the season one winner of
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: the four Battle for Stardom And congratulations, you have a
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: new single out. We have to talk about your new single.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: You debuted it last night at the season finale of
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: The four. We got to see you perform it live. Fantastic, Yeah, fantastic.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: You're You're a great performer already already. So the name
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: of the single is how do You Feel? Tell us
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: a little bit about it. Did you write it? Yes?
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: And no, Yes and though but Collabo writers inspiration. The
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: inspiration came from, you know, being a young girl. I
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: was once in love. You know, y'all have that little
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: puppy love, somebody we share all our biggest and deepest
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: secrets with. But I chose how do You Feel to
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: be my single because I wanted something that people could feel.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: I wanted something that people could listen to and feel
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: and relate to and believe it or not. When I
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: was recording this song, I recorded this song like I
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: was hearing my ex in his face and I was
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: saying exactly what everything that I wanted to say to
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: him in the time of our relationship. I performed it,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: I was crying in the booth. I will never forget.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: I was crying in the booth and I really just
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: needed all of that passion and pain and effort and
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: time everything, all of that. Like, I wanted it to
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: be portrayed in my song and I wanted people to
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: feel it. Y, where's that fool today? I'm sorry? Loser
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: so funny? All right, Evy Uh wow. I can't wait
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: to hear the song. I heard it last night. I
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: want to hear it again, and we're gonna do that.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: We're gonna take a break right here. You stay with us.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: We'll be right back more with Evy the Fabulous Evvy
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: when we come back. This is the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Show. Alright, Vy Uh,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: we are back. We can't wait to hear this song again.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: You got to introduce this to our audience now. It's
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: called how do you Feel? You're Fammphous? We talked about that.

- 1:15:44Speaker 1: for Stardom. It I love it. I love it. Yeah,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: So we want to set up this. I mean, you
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: told us about how you came about writing this song
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: or co writing this song, so we want you to
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: um introduce to the world right now. We're gonna play it. Hey, y'all,

- 1:21:26Speaker 1: one winner of the four Battle for Stardom, evy evy,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: evy evy, thank you. You're listening to the Steven Show now.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: According to a report published an American psychologist, people who
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: listen to others without actually seeing them are better able
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: to determine that person's emotional state. The tone of a
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: person's voice expresses emotion more than the face, where it's
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: easier to hide such emotions less. It's more when trying
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: to figure out how people feel, because when you are
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: just listening to a person, you are focused on just that.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: But if you're both listening and looking, your attention is divided. So, Steve,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: do you think you're a good listener? Oh? Yeah, absolutely,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: you have to, you know, for a man, For a man,
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I'm a good listen. Qualify that, yeah, I mean, you know,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: because we do listen differently. I'll admit that I think
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: women are far superior at it. But for a man,
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: I'm I'm a good listener. Yeah, And you have to.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: You have to be in your line of work. But
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: you know the reason women listen because there's a more
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: of a richer and deeper exchange. We listen just to
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: the point where we can provide a solution, and then
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: we wants to move on to something else. Women women
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: dig into it a lot deeper, and Richard, we just
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: try to provide a solution. Yeah, we want all the facts.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: What happened? Then what he said? Then what did she say? Girl?
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: And then and then what happened? We don't need all that.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: Huh what do you need? What do you just? What?
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: You're trying to get out of it? Listening? Call him
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: and tell him no? And do you what what? I
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: got it down to a sign. I can actually be
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: on the phone with my wife. I know when to say, uh, huh,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: what what? What? Really? And nothing? But not listening to
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: none of but know how to jump me and let
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: me stop you Tommy, because she's listening right now. So
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: be sure you want them huh what he's not listening?
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: You better fix it? Who oh my god, Okay, we
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: need to go down now. Huh. So so your uncle

- 1:29:14Speaker 1: in louis coming up Steve's closing remarks at fort nine
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: after the hour. Gather round everyone you're listening to all right, Steve,
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: here we go, last break of the day. Um, some
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: parting words for us with your closing remarks, please? All right? UM,
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: I guess so, without thinking about this much, I want
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: to talk to you about life, how fragile it is,
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: and I want to have something to say about m M.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: You know what, I'm really not gonna get into the
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: whole Roseanne Bar situation, because, like I just be honest
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: with you, there are times, there are actually times when
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: I'm actually sick and tired of talking about it. I
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: am exhausted with the fact that the color of my
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: skin has to come into play in my everyday life,
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: my just day to day. I don't know. I really
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: can't think of any days realistically who I do not
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: have to consider the color of my skin, the shape
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: of my nose and my lips wherever I go. The
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: situation I'm in, I very rarely I can think of
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: a day that I'm not made aware of it or
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: I have to factor it in. If you're not a
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: person of color or minority, you may not even be
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: able to understand what I'm saying. But I'll just give
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: you an example. When riding in the car and being
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: stopped by the police, as me and my buddy Greg
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: Calhoun was doing last year after golf out in coming
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: from Montgomery to Alabama and his car and we were
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: speeding and we were supposed to get pulled over. We
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: were speeding. But what I had to do was immediately
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: become aware that I am a black man. Skip your
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: money and your fame. I don't have time to throw
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: that out at you. I got to get and start
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: preparing myself. As the officer approaches the car, I must
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: understand without him getting my I D I'm a black man,
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: just a black man. So I put my hands up
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: on the dashboard and the officer came to the passenger
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: side and said, why is your hands on the dashboard?
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: I said, because I don't want nothing to happen to me.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: The officer said, while that's acting mighty suspicious. I said, no,
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: it's not. I'm just being safe, officer. If you don't mind,
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: she said, well, I'll need to see I D. I said,
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: my I D happens to be in a pouch in
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: the back seat I would have to reach. She said,
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: we'll go ahead, and I was tense because I didn't.
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: I didn't want to be mistaken. When I'm on an
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: elevator and I get on, I am conscious of the
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: fact that me and my guy are the only ones
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: on the elevator. When I go to golf courses and
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: I oftentimes see that they are hardly any African Americans
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: out here. It's just me and wanted maybe the forces
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: something that I'm playing with, and and and I'm just
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: always aware of it. If you're not that you don't
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: have to be aware of it. But it's the awareness
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: that becomes draining at times. It's the fact that you
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: got to be the only one on your floor, the
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: only one on the elevator, the only one in the cubicle,
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: the only one in your department, the only one at
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: the meeting, the only one in the cafeteria, the only
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: one on the on the trip, the only one, the
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: only one at the hotel, at the front desk, the
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: only one, the only one, the only one's kids that's
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: in the recital, the only one's kids that's at the
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: that's on the soccer team, the only one, the only
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: one the only one. The only one gets to be
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: exhausting at times. This will not change. And two more,
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: people who are not of color can try to empathize
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: or sympathize or generalize or something with us to say,
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: you know what, I don't know how that feels. But
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: I bet that ain't right, because, as I've often said
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: many times, slavery didn't end just because black people got
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: sick of being slaves. We were sick of it the
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: thought of it. When they put us on the boats.
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: Nobody wanted to ride the boat over here and come
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: be no slave. Nobody was under the belly of them
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: slave ships, going, man, this is nice. It's gonna be
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: a new opportunity. Nobody. So I want to wake up
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: and just see what it feels like to just go
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: about my day without having to calculate my race, without
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: to have to calculate the color of my skin, to
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: watch other people get paid a certain amount of money,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: and then you don't get paid a certain amount of
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: money with the same type of ratings, and then you
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: got you got to incorporate something else again. Now, I've
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: been very blessed with the life that I have, and
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: I would not trade mind for anything with all this
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: sick and tired of being sick and tired. Also what
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: makes this also tolerable for me, it's my love of
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: who I am, my love of our power to overcome,
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: our power to maintain in the struggle, our power to
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: still be something when we were brought here to simply
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: be nothing. So for us to have accomplished what we've accomplished,
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: I'm grateful and awful proud of that. So I guess
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: my pride just keeps me going on. I hope that
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: God will continue to let whatever light that I can
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: let shine through my existence to inspire someone else to
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: overcome when it looked like you ain't gonna make it.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Because that's exactly what I've done, by the grace of God.
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: I have overcome against all the odds, even when they
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: said I wasn't gonna make it. And even though I'm
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: tired of being tired, I wouldn't trade places and be
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: nothing else, know how, because but then, in this struggle
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: has taught me so many items of strength. I've learned
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: so much about myself. My soul is strong, my spirit strong,
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: Thank God for all. Steve Harvey contests no purchase necessary
