- 0:00Speaker 1: How many of you are worried about biological men and
- 0:03Speaker 1: boys competing against women and girls in sports. That's almost
- 0:06Speaker 1: the entire that is the entire route.
- 0:08Speaker 2: It's so crazy.
- 0:10Speaker 1: How do you stop it?
- 0:11Speaker 2: If you just ban it, President bans it, you just
- 0:13Speaker 2: don't let it happen.
- 0:16Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Good Wednesday morning, Ben Ferguson with you, and here are
- 0:23Speaker 4: the big stories that we're covering this morning on the
- 0:25Speaker 4: forty seven Morning Update. First up, Donald Trump shocks the
- 0:29Speaker 4: world by announcing at the White House that the US
- 0:33Speaker 4: will take over Gaza quote, we will own it and
- 0:37Speaker 4: make it the riviera of the Mid East. I have
- 0:40Speaker 4: the details on this for you in just a moment.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Also one of the reasons why I love doing this show,
- 0:45Speaker 4: we get to give you news that's going to happen.
- 0:48Speaker 4: And I've been told that Donald Trump is going to
- 0:50Speaker 4: sign an executive order banning trans athletes from women's sports.
- 0:56Speaker 4: One of his promises to protect women in sports on
- 0:59Speaker 4: the campaign trail is going to becoming a reality quite
- 1:03Speaker 4: possibly today. And finally, Zelenski, now, is I guess becoming
- 1:09Speaker 4: a whistleblower now? Claiming that less than half the money
- 1:13Speaker 4: that the US has sent has ever actually showed up.
- 1:16Speaker 4: It's a forty seven morning update and it starts right now.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 1:21Speaker 4: It may go down in history is the biggest announcement
- 1:24Speaker 4: that Donald Trump has ever made, that the US will
- 1:27Speaker 4: take over Gaza and we will own it, becoming the
- 1:30Speaker 4: riviera of the Mid East. The world's people, the President declaring,
- 1:34Speaker 4: will live there. Now. To be clear, this wasn't an
- 1:36Speaker 4: off the cuff remark. These remarks made by President Trump
- 1:40Speaker 4: were made in prepared remarks that he was reading from
- 1:44Speaker 4: this meaning it was very obvious this was a well
- 1:47Speaker 4: thought out plan kept secret by the Trump administration without
- 1:51Speaker 4: a single person leaking it to the press. The President
- 1:55Speaker 4: making it clear to the world that America still has
- 1:57Speaker 4: a role to play in the Middle East. Take a listen.
- 2:01Speaker 2: The only reason the Palestinians want to go back to
- 2:04Speaker 2: Gaza is they have no alternative. It's right now a
- 2:07Speaker 2: demolition site. This is just a demolition site. Virtually every
- 2:10Speaker 2: building is down. They're living under fallen concrete. That's very
- 2:15Speaker 2: dangerous and very precarious. They instead can occupy all of
- 2:20Speaker 2: a beautiful area with homes and safety and they can
- 2:22Speaker 2: live out their lives in peace and harmony instead of
- 2:25Speaker 2: having to go back and do it again. The US
- 2:27Speaker 2: will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do
- 2:30Speaker 2: a job with it too. We'll own it and be
- 2:33Speaker 2: responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and
- 2:36Speaker 2: other weapons on the site. Level the site and get
- 2:40Speaker 2: rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out, create an
- 2:43Speaker 2: economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and
- 2:47Speaker 2: housing for the people of the area. Do a real
- 2:51Speaker 2: job to something different. Just can't go back. If you
- 2:53Speaker 2: go back, it's going to end up the same way
- 2:55Speaker 2: it has for a hundred years.
- 2:57Speaker 4: That is what the present said, as net who was
- 3:00Speaker 4: staring on Now the big question is Netnah Who's response
- 3:04Speaker 4: to this? Was this something he was prepared for. Well,
- 3:08Speaker 4: BB made it clear that he said this could quote
- 3:10Speaker 4: change history. Now, let me give you more details on
- 3:14Speaker 4: exactly what this means. Donald Trump saying the US will
- 3:17Speaker 4: take over the Gaza Strip and we will do this job.
- 3:21Speaker 4: You're going to love it. He says, We're going to
- 3:22Speaker 4: be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous bombs and
- 3:25Speaker 4: other weapons on the site. We're going to get rid
- 3:27Speaker 4: of the destroyed buildings and create an economic development that
- 3:30Speaker 4: will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing. Now this
- 3:35Speaker 4: surprise announcement came as the President spoke with Netan Yahoo,
- 3:39Speaker 4: the first foreign leader to visit Trump since his inauguration
- 3:42Speaker 4: last month. Now, Trump had previously said that he would
- 3:45Speaker 4: also like to see most or all of the Palestinian
- 3:48Speaker 4: population of Gaza moved to another Arab or Muslim country.
- 3:52Speaker 4: The idea of actually taking over Gaza and establishing a
- 3:55Speaker 4: US presence well was both unexpected and completely new. Trump
- 4:00Speaker 4: added that the US would develop Gaza economically, sending troops
- 4:05Speaker 4: also if necessary, and making major investments. He called the
- 4:09Speaker 4: potential of Gaza quote unquote unbelievable, but said that Palestinian
- 4:13Speaker 4: control of Gaza will never work. He added, you have
- 4:16Speaker 4: to learn from history. We have an opportunity to do
- 4:18Speaker 4: something phenomenal the riviera of the Middle East. He said
- 4:22Speaker 4: that he envisioned the world's people living there, adding I
- 4:25Speaker 4: think you'll make Gaza into an international, unbelievable place. I
- 4:29Speaker 4: think the potential in the Gaza strip is unbelievable, and
- 4:32Speaker 4: I think the entire world, representatives from all over the
- 4:34Speaker 4: world will be there. A reporter also attacked Donald Trump, saying, well,
- 4:38Speaker 4: what right does the US have to take over Gaza,
- 4:41Speaker 4: calling it, by the way, inaccurately sovereign territory. Just to
- 4:45Speaker 4: put in perspective, there is no Palestinian state right now
- 4:49Speaker 4: and no sovereign power in the territory. But hey, let's
- 4:52Speaker 4: not get facts get in the way of a good
- 4:54Speaker 4: angry press briefing reporter right Well, Trump did not reply directly,
- 4:59Speaker 4: but said that a mayor control of Gaza would increase
- 5:02Speaker 4: stability in the region as the various nations pursue piece together.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Netan Yahoo, who had never publicly advocated for anything like
- 5:11Speaker 4: what Trump proposed at the White House, said the idea
- 5:13Speaker 4: was quote unquote something that could change history and that
- 5:18Speaker 4: it was worth considering now.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Story number two.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Back during the presidential campaign trail, Donald Trump sat down
- 5:24Speaker 4: with Harris Faulkner for a town hall. A very important
- 5:28Speaker 4: issue was the issue of well, how to deal with
- 5:32Speaker 4: men acting like women taking over women's sports, And the
- 5:36Speaker 4: President pledged that he was going to make it a
- 5:38Speaker 4: real issue if you gave him his vote. Now, let
- 5:41Speaker 4: me remind you what Harris Faulkner said and what the
- 5:43Speaker 4: president said at the time. This was back in October
- 5:46Speaker 4: October the sixteenth, to be exact, right in the heat
- 5:49Speaker 4: of the presidential election cycle.
- 5:51Speaker 1: How many of you are worried about biological men and
- 5:53Speaker 1: boys competing against women and girls in sports. To show me,
- 5:56Speaker 1: that's almost the entire That is the entire room. And
- 5:59Speaker 1: I know you have a question that you do.
- 6:01Speaker 2: By the way, excuse me, it's so crazy.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Your question, your name and your hometown.
- 6:07Speaker 2: My name is Linda and I'm from Milton, Georgia. My
- 6:10Speaker 2: question is, how do you plan on addressing the transgender
- 6:12Speaker 2: issue in women's sports. It's such an easy question, and
- 6:16Speaker 2: everybody in the room and you know that answer. We're
- 6:18Speaker 2: not going to let it happen. You look, just yesterday
- 6:21Speaker 2: they had a volleyball metch Did you see that where
- 6:24Speaker 2: a person that transitioned. Okay, we have to be very
- 6:27Speaker 2: careful because this can terminate your political career if you
- 6:30Speaker 2: say it's slightly offer right, but transitioned from man to female.
- 6:35Speaker 2: It was on a volleyball, and I saw the slam.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It was a slam. I never saw a ball hit
- 6:40Speaker 2: so hard hit the girl on the head. But other people,
- 6:42Speaker 2: even a volleyball they've been permanently. I mean they've been
- 6:45Speaker 2: really hurt badly. Women playing men. But you don't have
- 6:48Speaker 2: to do the volleyball. We stop it. We stop it,
- 6:51Speaker 2: We absolutely stop it. You can't have it. It's a
- 6:54Speaker 2: man playing in the game, I mean physically from a
- 6:57Speaker 2: muscular say, even if it was a little bit less,
- 6:59Speaker 2: maybe they do well sor it's a pest and drugs
- 7:01Speaker 2: and everything else. Look at what's happened in swimming. Look
- 7:04Speaker 2: at the records.
- 7:06Speaker 1: How do you stop it? Do you go to the
- 7:08Speaker 1: sports leagues? Do you go to the Olympics? You just
- 7:09Speaker 1: ban it?
- 7:10Speaker 2: The president bans it. You just don't let it happen.
- 7:16Speaker 4: The audience goes wild. Now the question is could the
- 7:19Speaker 4: present pay off on this. I'm now being told from
- 7:22Speaker 4: those around the president that Donald Trump plans as early
- 7:26Speaker 4: as today to sign an executive order banning trans athletes
- 7:31Speaker 4: from women's sports. Just like he said in that interview,
- 7:34Speaker 4: President Trump is set to sign this executive order that
- 7:37Speaker 4: would ban transgender athletes from playing in girls and women's
- 7:40Speaker 4: sports and schools that accept federal funding. Now, the presidents
- 7:44Speaker 4: expect to sign the order as early as I mentioned today,
- 7:48Speaker 4: to coincide with National Girl and Women in Sports Day. Now,
- 7:53Speaker 4: let me break down for you what this could actually accomplish.
- 7:56Speaker 4: To be clear, President does not have the authority to
- 7:59Speaker 4: place an outright nationwide ban on transgendered athletes playing as females. However,
- 8:05Speaker 4: the executive Order and the Executive Branch does control federal
- 8:10Speaker 4: funding as it pertains a Title nine So it's likely
- 8:14Speaker 4: that this order will direct Title nine rules to be rewritten,
- 8:17Speaker 4: and they would be rewritten to exclude trans athletes from
- 8:21Speaker 4: playing as females or risk a cutoff of the federal
- 8:24Speaker 4: funds that clearly are controlled by the US government. Now,
- 8:29Speaker 4: in a signal, the NCAA president Charlie Baker already signaled
- 8:33Speaker 4: that if Title nine rules are changed, his college sports
- 8:37Speaker 4: organization would quote quickly move to adhere to the letter
- 8:41Speaker 4: of such changes, saying, quote we're a national governing body
- 8:46Speaker 4: and we follow federal law, Baker said before Congress in December.
- 8:49Speaker 4: He also urged lawmakers at the time to provide quote
- 8:53Speaker 4: clarity on the issue. This is exactly why Donald Trump
- 8:57Speaker 4: is probably going to write it this way, making it
- 9:00Speaker 4: that he was going to address the issue of transgendent
- 9:02Speaker 4: athletes if he were to win the White House and
- 9:04Speaker 4: now paying off on it. But most importantly what this
- 9:07Speaker 4: will do is this will protect young women and there
- 9:12Speaker 4: is a mandate. Polls show that Trump has strong support
- 9:15Speaker 4: among voters. In fact, a recent poll found that sixty
- 9:19Speaker 4: percent oppose the extreme left wing Democratic transgender agenda, and
- 9:24Speaker 4: another poll found that seventy five percent of parents oppose
- 9:28Speaker 4: the harmful transagenda in schools. This is exactly why so
- 9:33Speaker 4: many mothers voted for Donald Trump.
- 9:35Speaker 3: And lastly's story number three.
- 9:37Speaker 4: If you've ever studied Ukraine, you know that the country
- 9:40Speaker 4: is insanely corrupt. The leadership's corrupt, the oligarchs are corrupt,
- 9:44Speaker 4: and when you send money to Ukraine it disappears very quickly.
- 9:48Speaker 4: It's also saying something that even people in Russia say, Yeah,
- 9:53Speaker 4: we know our country is corrupt, but you've seen nothing
- 9:56Speaker 4: until you've seen Ukraine. Well, just how bad is it?
- 10:00Speaker 2: Well?
- 10:00Speaker 4: Zelensky is now claiming the Ukraine received quote less than
- 10:04Speaker 4: half of usaid and they don't know where all the
- 10:07Speaker 4: money went. Yes, Ukrainian President Zelensky has said that his
- 10:12Speaker 4: country has only received around seventy eight billion in aid
- 10:15Speaker 4: from the United States, despite America authorizing around a one
- 10:19Speaker 4: hundred and seventy five billion to quote support the war
- 10:23Speaker 4: torn country, meaning one hundred billion dollars is missing now.
- 10:28Speaker 4: In an interview with the Associated Press published Zolensky said
- 10:32Speaker 4: he doesn't know where most of the money the United
- 10:34Speaker 4: States allocated under the Biden administration the Ukraine has gone.
- 10:38Speaker 4: When I hear both in the past and even now
- 10:41Speaker 4: from the US that America has provided Ukraine with hundreds
- 10:44Speaker 4: of billions, as the president of a nation at war,
- 10:47Speaker 4: I can tell you we've received no more than seventy
- 10:51Speaker 4: five billion, he said. We're talking about tangible things because
- 10:55Speaker 4: this aid didn't come as cash, but rather as weapons,
- 10:59Speaker 4: which amount to a seventy billion dollars. But when it's
- 11:02Speaker 4: said that Ukraine received two hundred billion to support the
- 11:05Speaker 4: army during the war, that's not true. I don't know
- 11:09Speaker 4: where all that money went, Zelenski admitted. So they got
- 11:13Speaker 4: the money, but now it's missing. Perhaps it's true on paper,
- 11:17Speaker 4: He went on to say, with hundreds of different programs,
- 11:21Speaker 4: I won't argue, and we're immensely grateful for everything, but
- 11:25Speaker 4: in reality, we received about seventy six billion. It's significant aid,
- 11:30Speaker 4: but it's not two one hundred billion. The Ukrainian leader
- 11:34Speaker 4: suggested that perhaps the additional funds went to humanitarian programs,
- 11:38Speaker 4: which he said he was uninformed about except for knowing
- 11:42Speaker 4: of their existence. Now, the question that you're obviously asking
- 11:46Speaker 4: yourself right now is, Okay, did the money even leave America?
- 11:49Speaker 4: And if it did leave America, who has it now? Well,
- 11:52Speaker 4: there have been long noted concerns in Washington over sending
- 11:56Speaker 4: billions of dollars to Ukraine given its corruption issues. In
- 12:00Speaker 4: twenty twenty three, Transparency International ranked Ukraine as the second
- 12:05Speaker 4: most corrupt European nation, only behind Russia, with a score
- 12:11Speaker 4: of thirty three out of one hundred. In fact, the
- 12:14Speaker 4: Oversight Committee in the US House of Representatives found that
- 12:17Speaker 4: Ukrainian government officials allegedly engaged in bribery, used government vehicles
- 12:23Speaker 4: for personal use, and purchase inflated food supplies for Ukrainian forces,
- 12:29Speaker 4: padding their own pockets. Now, despite previously downplaying the widespread
- 12:34Speaker 4: corruption in the former Soviet state, The New York Times
- 12:38Speaker 4: even reported in twenty twenty three that unnamed Ukrainian officials
- 12:42Speaker 4: admitted US taxpayer money intended for military contracts had quote
- 12:47Speaker 4: failed to produce weaponry or ammunition, and that some money
- 12:52Speaker 4: has well just vanished. Moral of the story, it's probably
- 12:55Speaker 4: time for Elon Musk and his team to take a
- 12:59Speaker 4: look at Ukraine.
