- 0:25Speaker 1: the mother, Please, I don't join join me. You gotta
- 1:01Speaker 1: turn you're going. You gotta turn to turn them out. Turn,
- 1:43Speaker 1: you got to turn them out. Turn the water the
- 1:47Speaker 1: water go. Come come on your baby. H huh, I
- 2:02Speaker 1: shore will good morning everybody. Y'all listening to the voice,
- 2:06Speaker 1: Come on dig me now one and on it. Steve
- 2:09Speaker 1: Harvey got a radio show. Heh man, back in business too, man, Man,
- 2:16Speaker 1: How good is God? I mean, really, if you think
- 2:19Speaker 1: about it in spite of all that's going down in
- 2:21Speaker 1: your life. First of all, it could be worse. But secondly,
- 2:25Speaker 1: sometimes you have to remember. And I've just had to
- 2:28Speaker 1: have this conversation with myself this morning. That's how I'm
- 2:32Speaker 1: fresh on this one right here. When a challenge faces you,
- 2:36Speaker 1: are you going through a difficult moment, or you didn't
- 2:39Speaker 1: hit a bump in the road in the middle of that,
- 2:43Speaker 1: if you could manage to be grateful, it would take
- 2:46Speaker 1: you a long way. Gratitude is a powerful resource. If
- 2:51Speaker 1: you can be grateful in the middle of it. Gratitude
- 2:55Speaker 1: is a powerful resource when it's dim for you, it't
- 3:00Speaker 1: got a little bumpy on the road and you ran
- 3:03Speaker 1: into some obstacles, and you didn't ran up into some
- 3:05Speaker 1: detooled signs, and your journey ain't smooth as it was
- 3:10Speaker 1: last week or last year. You gotta be grateful for
- 3:15Speaker 1: the things that are going right and that have gone right,
- 3:20Speaker 1: and for the thing that's wrong right now to get right? Man?
- 3:23Speaker 1: Can I share that with you? Man? Is that a
- 3:26Speaker 1: tough one to learn? It is? For me. It has
- 3:29Speaker 1: been one of my toughest challenges is to learn how
- 3:33Speaker 1: to be grateful because it's a powerful resource, but how
- 3:37Speaker 1: to be grateful in moments of despair when it ain't
- 3:40Speaker 1: going right. See here's a mistake I would make. See
- 3:43Speaker 1: when something go wrong, I want to focus on the
- 3:46Speaker 1: wrong so much in an attempt to fix it. But
- 3:50Speaker 1: even then the focus ain't always in to fix it.
- 3:54Speaker 1: The focus becomes, Man, this is bad, man, I can't
- 3:58Speaker 1: believe this is happening. Why just keep going down? That
- 4:02Speaker 1: doesn't fix anything? You know, meling over it, going over
- 4:07Speaker 1: what's wrong, explaining it, sharing it with your friends, you know,
- 4:14Speaker 1: making it sound worse than it is. Tell the story
- 4:18Speaker 1: for pity from other people. All of that right there,
- 4:20Speaker 1: has nothing to do with the fix. Sometimes you're just
- 4:23Speaker 1: mulling over it. You're just making it worse. You're just
- 4:26Speaker 1: making it a bigger problem. You're manifesting it into your atmosphere,
- 4:31Speaker 1: You're putting it out there in your spirit. Now, all
- 4:33Speaker 1: of a sudden, it consumes your day. Next thing, you know,
- 4:36Speaker 1: you're having a bad day. If you're having a bad day,
- 4:39Speaker 1: it's because you've been having some bad thoughts. So what
- 4:43Speaker 1: I've had to learn how to do, and what I'm
- 4:44Speaker 1: working on this morning, is I'm working on this situation
- 4:48Speaker 1: that's been cropped up. I was going kind of smooth
- 4:51Speaker 1: here for a minute, and now I didn't got real
- 4:53Speaker 1: bumpy in the road, you know, and all this here.
- 4:56Speaker 1: So what I'm thinking about now, though, is even though
- 4:59Speaker 1: I've hit a bump in the road, and even though
- 5:01Speaker 1: out and ran into a detour, and even though I've
- 5:05Speaker 1: hit this love, I'm going down into a valley, I
- 5:09Speaker 1: ain't up on the peak. Can I not still be
- 5:12Speaker 1: grateful for all the things that God has given me,
- 5:16Speaker 1: for all the things He's done for me, for all
- 5:19Speaker 1: the things He's brought me through and realizing that even
- 5:23Speaker 1: this that's happening to me again is going to pass too.
- 5:27Speaker 1: He gonna get me through that attitude. Come home, man,
- 5:30Speaker 1: God is a good god Man. It's a lot to
- 5:32Speaker 1: be grateful for. So while I'm tripping on this bumping
- 5:35Speaker 1: the road out and hit, what I gotta remember is
- 5:37Speaker 1: all the things He's done for me. And like I say,
- 5:40Speaker 1: my saying is joy depression cannot reside in the same place.
- 5:44Speaker 1: So instead of being down about this new bumping the road,
- 5:47Speaker 1: if I'm constantly filling my mind with the thoughts of
- 5:50Speaker 1: how good he's been to me, of what all he's
- 5:53Speaker 1: done for me, of all the things he's brought me through,
- 5:56Speaker 1: of all the blessings he's presented me with, when I
- 5:59Speaker 1: go down the list, I really don't have a lot
- 6:02Speaker 1: of time to mull over the situation. Now. Do I
- 6:08Speaker 1: have to fix this bump in the road. Of course
- 6:10Speaker 1: I do. Oh, there's some things I'm going to have
- 6:13Speaker 1: to do to straighten it out. Of course it is.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But Steve just going to get the business of doing
- 6:18Speaker 1: it and straighten it out. What you're mulling over and
- 6:20Speaker 1: wearing about it for you know, old people, I heard
- 6:23Speaker 1: old people say something when I was growing up in
- 6:25Speaker 1: the church, they say, if you're gonna pray about it,
- 6:27Speaker 1: don't worry about it. But if you're gonna worry about it,
- 6:30Speaker 1: don't pray about it. That's an amazing thing. And prayer
- 6:34Speaker 1: just happens to be my weapon of choice. Man, it
- 6:37Speaker 1: ain't always been that way. I want you to understand
- 6:40Speaker 1: that My first weapon of choice was you do it
- 6:42Speaker 1: to me, I do it to you. You call me out,
- 6:45Speaker 1: I call you out, you say something bad about me.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I've tried to find you and say something bad about you.
- 6:50Speaker 1: That was my weapon in the past. How did that
- 6:53Speaker 1: work out for you, Steve? Not so good? Because you
- 6:57Speaker 1: know what, I spent a lot of time fighting back,
- 7:01Speaker 1: kicking back, swinging back, when I could have spent all
- 7:04Speaker 1: that time climbing. See, all you trying to do at
- 7:08Speaker 1: the end of the day, folks, is have a better
- 7:10Speaker 1: life than the one you got. All you're trying to
- 7:12Speaker 1: do is to improve your position in life. You know,
- 7:15Speaker 1: it's not my business to make sure you don't get
- 7:18Speaker 1: where you're going. Ain't got no time for that. It's
- 7:21Speaker 1: not my job to assure that you ain't as high
- 7:24Speaker 1: as me. I ain't got no time for that. Your
- 7:28Speaker 1: real mission and purpose is to have the best life
- 7:31Speaker 1: that you can have, to ascend to the highest plateau
- 7:35Speaker 1: that you can get to, to make your family as
- 7:37Speaker 1: comfortable as you can, to provide as much as you
- 7:41Speaker 1: can for your family. But legally, see, those of us
- 7:44Speaker 1: are sitting up here trying to come up with sideways.
- 7:46Speaker 1: You can ask a couple million men sitting in prison
- 7:49Speaker 1: today how they wish they hadn't have done that, and
- 7:52Speaker 1: they'll tell you, Oh, man, I wish I never had
- 7:55Speaker 1: did it. I knew not to go down there. Something
- 7:58Speaker 1: told me not to go down now. Man, if I
- 8:01Speaker 1: could change things, I would. But they're sitting somewhere doing
- 8:05Speaker 1: some time that had they made another decision they wouldn't
- 8:08Speaker 1: have to do. Now. That don't make them throw away people, na, man,
- 8:12Speaker 1: because everybody make mistakes, and God is in the forgiving business,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and some of us have done some things that really
- 8:19Speaker 1: broke the law, and a whole lot of other things
- 8:21Speaker 1: and deserve to do some time. But through the grace
- 8:24Speaker 1: of God, we didn't. But now we set up here
- 8:25Speaker 1: and we passed judgment on people who got to do something.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Now I don't care, I don't care what you've done.
- 8:31Speaker 1: God can't forgive anything, but our position, our motivation in
- 8:35Speaker 1: life is to try to have the best life we
- 8:38Speaker 1: can have and provide for those around us and make
- 8:40Speaker 1: it comfortable. If that's your ambition, you don't have time
- 8:44Speaker 1: to worry about or concern yourself with another person. And
- 8:49Speaker 1: I wasted time doing that, and that's not the way
- 8:52Speaker 1: to get it done. It's simply mind to your business,
- 8:56Speaker 1: taking care of you and getting yourself right and tight.
- 8:59Speaker 1: It's twenty four seven, so that's a full time job.
- 9:02Speaker 1: So what I had to learn was and what I've
- 9:05Speaker 1: the reason I've chosen prayer as as my weapon of
- 9:08Speaker 1: choice now is that now prayer helps me that I
- 9:12Speaker 1: don't have to fight back. Now, if I get cornered,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna fight you. I ain't even gonna lie to you.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And now I'm still working on some things that trigger me.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You know, you know, you know, and and and and
- 9:27Speaker 1: so I'm I'm slowly getting better at that. But I've
- 9:30Speaker 1: learned that my weapon of choice is prayer now. So
- 9:35Speaker 1: when it happens ugly for me, I pray about it.
- 9:39Speaker 1: When he gets tight and dismal for me, I pray
- 9:42Speaker 1: about it, and The thing about prayer, man, is prayer
- 9:46Speaker 1: changes things? Yes, it does. Now read about it and
- 9:52Speaker 1: try it. That's the deal. Okay, come on, prayer as
- 9:55Speaker 1: of wonderful weapons. You're listening, ladies and gylemen, let me
- 10:03Speaker 1: have it. You're undivided detention. This is Steve Harvey Morning
- 10:06Speaker 1: Show about to be with it. That's all it is.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Shirley Strawberry, Hey, Steve, good morning, caller for real, Good morning.

- 11:12Speaker 1: Uh So kire what happened yesterday? I ain't. I've been
- 11:16Speaker 1: calling my mama all day. I have yet to hear
- 11:19Speaker 1: from her. I cannot give her gift until she called
- 11:22Speaker 1: me back. I have not heard for I've called. I
- 11:26Speaker 1: wished everybody, all my anies aunts, all of them, you know,
- 11:30Speaker 1: I mean all of them, Happy Mother's Day. But the
- 11:32Speaker 1: one lady I'm looking for, I have yet to hear
- 11:35Speaker 1: from it. So I said, Junior, it's not your mother's
- 11:38Speaker 1: job to call you on Mother's Day. You post to
- 11:41Speaker 1: call her. I can't find her. Uncle. I did. Yes, yes,
- 11:52Speaker 1: yes she is. Yes. But if anybody listened this morning,
- 11:56Speaker 1: if you know Alicia Carol Henderson, please tell her government name,
- 12:03Speaker 1: just anybody who just may see her. I don't know.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I even put in the group chat that she's in. Well,
- 12:08Speaker 1: my mama, my mamma, No, Mama, she's perfectly fine. She's
- 12:16Speaker 1: perfectly fine. What you say. My mama had been going
- 12:20Speaker 1: for fifteen years, and I swear to God, I don't
- 12:21Speaker 1: want to see her at all. The dude, you hear
- 12:31Speaker 1: my nervous laughing, Sama he's doing I'm not laughing back
- 12:37Speaker 1: to visit me, That's what I'm saying. Okay, I couldn't
- 12:42Speaker 1: take it back to you, Tommy. We all are called interesting. Yeah,
- 12:51Speaker 1: Mama was good. Mama was good yesterday, had a good time.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Step mama some cater into the house for her and
- 12:57Speaker 1: my sister, and uh, you know, we got on the
- 13:00Speaker 1: zoom and then that's when all everything meant to hell.
- 13:04Speaker 1: You know, the whole family own zoom. Of course there's
- 13:07Speaker 1: one member of the family that would not get on
- 13:09Speaker 1: zoom and hang out with us. Yes, oh wow, Oh
- 13:14Speaker 1: that sounds like he couldn't zoom with us. You know,
- 13:17Speaker 1: he couldn't zoom with us. That's all right there. Well,
- 13:20Speaker 1: I tried to get my oldest sister to zoom and
- 13:22Speaker 1: they told her that we was gonna zoom and she said,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I'm not getting on no plane until all this message
- 13:28Speaker 1: cleared up. All right, Coming up at thirty two minutes
- 13:33Speaker 1: after the hour, we'll have some trending political news for
- 13:36Speaker 1: you and we'll find out what what else everybody did
- 13:40Speaker 1: on this Mother's Day weekend. We'll discuss it right after this.
- 13:43Speaker 1: You're listening morning show, all right, So before we get
- 13:48Speaker 1: to the trending political news, and there's a lot of it.
- 13:50Speaker 1: It's always a lot of it coming out of this administration.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Let's find Okay, So Temmy, you were saying Steve, your uncle,
- 13:57Speaker 1: Steve didn't zoom with you for mother. He wasn't doing
- 14:00Speaker 1: with the rest of the family. Family. I wasn't expect it.
- 14:04Speaker 1: They might have been I knew, I knew off the
- 14:06Speaker 1: coff he wasn't tuned so well. I just want to
- 14:11Speaker 1: know what you do for your wife on Mother's Day,
- 14:13Speaker 1: because you're talking to me. No, I'm trying. Well, we
- 14:17Speaker 1: know you did something specialty I'm getting I bowed some gifts. Okay,
- 14:26Speaker 1: that's different. What awesome gifts even though she is not
- 14:32Speaker 1: my mom. That's what we hear every Mother's Day. And
- 14:38Speaker 1: you know what, it was pleasant around my house and
- 14:40Speaker 1: that makes a big difference. You happy, we happy? We
- 14:44Speaker 1: all a gift? All right, little How did you spend
- 14:51Speaker 1: your Mother's Day weekend? I wasn't nothing big. I just
- 14:53Speaker 1: had catering, bought in or did a Sunday brunch for
- 14:57Speaker 1: had the caters delivered the stuff with mask on and gloves,
- 15:00Speaker 1: drop it off, set the burners up and everything and
- 15:03Speaker 1: then leave. Grandkids was gone, so it just me. The
- 15:07Speaker 1: only one was over here was Winton, Me and Winton,
- 15:12Speaker 1: a couple of just just just me and went one
- 15:17Speaker 1: one guy that works here and because all of us
- 15:22Speaker 1: other kids are somewhere else and their mothers too, so
- 15:25Speaker 1: and we just had that and that was it, you know,
- 15:28Speaker 1: just had a nice brunch for She loved it. Jason
- 15:31Speaker 1: came over a little bit later and sang a song
- 15:34Speaker 1: for did a video for She probably post that that
- 15:38Speaker 1: was pretty funny. And then had I ate some food
- 15:43Speaker 1: that I hadn't eaten in a while because of my
- 15:45Speaker 1: program that I'm on. You know. We had shrimping grits
- 15:49Speaker 1: bought in. We had fried fish, we had crab cakes,
- 15:55Speaker 1: we had scrambled eggs, we had um sam and uh
- 16:03Speaker 1: and we had French toast and peach cobbler muffins and
- 16:10Speaker 1: that's so different. Yeah, man, they was muffins, but they
- 16:16Speaker 1: was made like peach cobbler. Lord Jesus. So we had
- 16:21Speaker 1: a new chef that we used. I don't have her
- 16:24Speaker 1: card around here, no where, but I think her web
- 16:29Speaker 1: her Instagram was chef q t Rob. I think that's
- 16:35Speaker 1: her instagram had like cute, like like like cutie. Yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 1: she was attracted. My security guard fell in love with
- 16:42Speaker 1: her and wanted to marry her and and and she
- 16:49Speaker 1: was from Cleveland. First time. My daughter turned me on
- 16:52Speaker 1: to it and had arranged everything for it. So we
- 16:55Speaker 1: had a real nice brunch for and everything. I just
- 16:58Speaker 1: bought up some Louis Tom pajamas. That was it. Well,
- 17:03Speaker 1: that was very that. That was very nice. Ye. N
- 17:07Speaker 1: you guys did good. And thank you guys for wishing
- 17:09Speaker 1: us happy Mother's Day. That nice guys. Oh excuse excuse me.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I was just I was thanking you for the fellas.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Thank you. Hope they wouldn't own it right away, but
- 17:25Speaker 1: I will. There's no way. What a person not gonna
- 17:28Speaker 1: do is thank you and then don't say you know
- 17:31Speaker 1: you will you know very well, just say proper top girl,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Thank you guys so very much for all you do. Uh.
- 17:44Speaker 1: In trending political news, former President Barack Obama delivered a
- 17:48Speaker 1: critique of the Trump administration's response to the coronavirus pandemic
- 17:53Speaker 1: and a thirty minute conversation with his former supporters. Obama
- 17:58Speaker 1: said the response to the Corona virus outbreak served as
- 18:01Speaker 1: a critical reminder for why strong leadership is needed during
- 18:05Speaker 1: a global crisis. President Trump responded, he ripped the Obama
- 18:10Speaker 1: administration's handling of the swine flu pandemic, and he said
- 18:14Speaker 1: that Obama and sleepy Joe Biden got poor marks and
- 18:18Speaker 1: didn't have a clue, which was absolutely false because they
- 18:23Speaker 1: put up all the stats and he had a greater
- 18:26Speaker 1: approval rating than Trump had. Trump's disapproval rating was so
- 18:33Speaker 1: high for the way he's handled the Corona versus Obama
- 18:39Speaker 1: had approval rating for the way he handled the swine flew.
- 18:41Speaker 1: But this guy's just suppressed. The King of deflection. Yeah,
- 18:46Speaker 1: you know, just the King of deflection. This dude. He's unbelievable. Yeah,
- 18:52Speaker 1: it's amazing the things that he will respond to and
- 18:55Speaker 1: the things that he's closed. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's very bloons.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Obama gonna say something. You should have known that's going on. Yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I mean as soon as he said, he picked up
- 19:04Speaker 1: his phone start tweeting so hundred times this weekend. Right,
- 19:13Speaker 1: what does the swine flu have to do with the coronavirus.
- 19:18Speaker 1: This is a pandemic, sir, world, and your handling of
- 19:22Speaker 1: it is what's ridiculous about this, your handling of it.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Of all the cases America has more just America, which
- 19:32Speaker 1: is not anywhere near the size of China, Europe, all
- 19:37Speaker 1: of them. America has one fourth of the cases of
- 19:44Speaker 1: the of the of the two hundred and sixty some
- 19:49Speaker 1: thousand deaths, America has approaching seventy thousand over seven, so
- 19:58Speaker 1: they're almost eighty So they have over a fourth of
- 20:02Speaker 1: the depths, over a third of the depths. Actually in America,
- 20:08Speaker 1: we've got a fourth of the cases and we're nowhere
- 20:12Speaker 1: near the population masses. Something is wrong here and it
- 20:18Speaker 1: was handled incredibly wrong for this to be the almighty
- 20:22Speaker 1: United States of America, and it can only be attributed
- 20:25Speaker 1: to leadership. This is true. And I don't care how
- 20:29Speaker 1: he spends this. Yes, we cannot allow this guy to
- 20:34Speaker 1: lie his way out of this because this business of
- 20:37Speaker 1: it's a hoax and all of that. Those were weeks
- 20:40Speaker 1: gone by what we could have been doing something that front. Yeah,
- 20:46Speaker 1: all right, you're absolutely right, Stephen. Coming up next, we're
- 20:49Speaker 1: gonna switch gears here. It is Monday, so get ready
- 20:52Speaker 1: for church complaints with Reverend Motown and Deacon death Jam.
- 20:56Speaker 1: That's right after this. You're listening Morning show coming up
- 21:01Speaker 1: at the top of the hour. Miss Anne will be
- 21:04Speaker 1: here she's standing by with today's COVID nineteen national news
- 21:07Speaker 1: plus an entertainment news. Boy, oh boy, this is a
- 21:11Speaker 1: rough one this weekend. We lost some true music and
- 21:15Speaker 1: pioneers this past weekend. We'll talk about their legacies at
- 21:19Speaker 1: the top of the hour, but first it is Monday,
- 21:21Speaker 1: and it's time to lighten things up a bit with
- 21:23Speaker 1: Reverend Motown and Deacon Death jam with church complaints. God,
- 21:30Speaker 1: we gaveol this morning. It rouses air to fibly. We
- 21:41Speaker 1: are here to deal with the divatiousness, oh the coronaved
- 21:51Speaker 1: virus and the complaints that it is causing at our church.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Thank you, pass. I'm trying to get out. I'm coughing
- 22:06Speaker 1: to try to get rid of our virtual service doing clone.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I don't even want to do that. You don't want
- 22:15Speaker 1: to work at all. You can't you can't collect no
- 22:18Speaker 1: offers or ties virtual right right, Ladies and gentlemen complaints
- 22:24Speaker 1: their years with the dcon All right, pass that we
- 22:28Speaker 1: gotta issue here. You brought up the virtue of my eye.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Could you please talk to the usher board and tell
- 22:33Speaker 1: them to quit standing during the entire service on Zoom.
- 22:37Speaker 1: They are not working as us shots all right, all
- 22:40Speaker 1: we're seeing is their mid section the whole time, service
- 22:42Speaker 1: going on for a whole hour. Well, I'm not gonna
- 22:46Speaker 1: stop them for being dutiful, and so we're going to
- 22:51Speaker 1: allow them to continue to stand one hand behind their back.
- 22:56Speaker 1: And now what I have required is that they only
- 22:59Speaker 1: wear one glove, the hand that's behind the back. They
- 23:03Speaker 1: don't have to glove that one. But they're not working,
- 23:07Speaker 1: no doors are nothing past it. They just know they not.
- 23:10Speaker 1: But we're trying to conduct the service as virtual as possible,
- 23:17Speaker 1: legitimate and just in case I don't, have you noticed
- 23:21Speaker 1: they're wearing mask. Also, I didn't I see their mid section.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I don't see that. Then, well they got mask on too.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And I'm telling you, if you say, all right, let's
- 23:35Speaker 1: keep it moving, I has to do to the secumstance.
- 23:38Speaker 1: We have eighty two couples who are asking for marriage counseling.
- 23:42Speaker 1: All right, they want you to conduct the session, but
- 23:45Speaker 1: none of them really like each other anymore. Some are
- 23:47Speaker 1: actually wanting to get divorced. Be a zoom, it's your call, passing.
- 23:52Speaker 1: We are all I have a special disconnection service. As
- 23:57Speaker 1: I've reverted back to my child hood. Oh, I'm doing
- 24:04Speaker 1: viral devoces for one hundred and twenty five dollars. Yo, Voss,
- 24:15Speaker 1: how does that work? Bad? Well? You call in just
- 24:19Speaker 1: like our dear Joe vals I disavive you instant. I
- 24:27Speaker 1: no longer promise to be with you to death? Do
- 24:29Speaker 1: us parts say? I do? I do see like that? Oh?
- 24:34Speaker 1: I don't this a vial? I never heard that? And
- 24:38Speaker 1: then that dreaduay is over with. I've cleared it with
- 24:40Speaker 1: the White House. Yeah, they've allowed that to go down.
- 24:46Speaker 1: All right, all right, well look at the path that
- 24:50Speaker 1: we have. We need to send some hair color to
- 24:53Speaker 1: nine members right now, everyone has gray hair and unrecognized
- 25:00Speaker 1: possible on the zoom. It's it's up to you though
- 25:02Speaker 1: that the hat die is gonna cost us eight hundred.
- 25:05Speaker 1: You can die your head at your house. That's not
- 25:09Speaker 1: a Cylon visit right right right now, we need to
- 25:13Speaker 1: send them to die to the house. We don't We
- 25:16Speaker 1: don't have why what wise we got to send it?
- 25:18Speaker 1: Or deacon. They don't have the money for the die,
- 25:21Speaker 1: but the probably mens passes. We can't recognize nobody on
- 25:24Speaker 1: the zoom. They all everybody is great. I'm just gonna
- 25:27Speaker 1: say this again to you. They're not paying times and
- 25:31Speaker 1: dropping Offensen on viral. I don't really care who they
- 25:33Speaker 1: look like, you know I care, So just keep it
- 25:42Speaker 1: like it like it, all right? Why do you accept
- 25:45Speaker 1: all complaints, Deaconess Marster. You don't have to deal with
- 25:49Speaker 1: all the people here. You know, you got to be
- 25:56Speaker 1: a little bit more selective than what you're gonna bring
- 25:59Speaker 1: forward on Rigil. Alright, Well, hid brother Darren Lot, he
- 26:07Speaker 1: had all eight of his baby mama's was at his
- 26:09Speaker 1: mama's house yesterday for Mother's Day down all right, Now,
- 26:13Speaker 1: Sister a Lot, his mama wants you to talk to
- 26:15Speaker 1: him because now the boys engaged to Alexis Dixon and
- 26:20Speaker 1: she's pregnant with twins, so she wants you to talk
- 26:22Speaker 1: to this boy. I'm not gonna do it. He's just
- 26:26Speaker 1: living up to his name. His last name is a Lot.
- 26:33Speaker 1: He got a lot of kids and he about to
- 26:35Speaker 1: have a lot more. All right, all right, so I
- 26:41Speaker 1: guess I'll tell Sister a Lot you're not gonna talk
- 26:43Speaker 1: to the boy, not at all, not only anyway, full shape,
- 26:47Speaker 1: full fashion, all right. Now here's a problem we got.
- 26:51Speaker 1: You gonna have to discuss this hit that was a
- 26:54Speaker 1: big argument on Zoom yesterday doing church series. Now, Mama
- 26:57Speaker 1: Raols wanted to give a testimony it, but Sister Dars
- 27:01Speaker 1: Faith told that we didn't have time. Mama Road in
- 27:04Speaker 1: turn said, we ain't time when your mama joined the
- 27:07Speaker 1: trade for the fourth damn time. Why here, we ain't
- 27:09Speaker 1: got time now, and that's when the argument started. You're
- 27:12Speaker 1: gonna have to talk to Mama Road and Sister dars Faith.
- 27:17Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not participating in the zoom or activities
- 27:22Speaker 1: at the church. I just do the viral or son
- 27:27Speaker 1: and I'm just no revoting it down to divorces. Quite
- 27:31Speaker 1: a lucative business. I've divorced or thirty two couples so
- 27:35Speaker 1: far at the church and this is all income to
- 27:39Speaker 1: come directly to me, and which I found a new business.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna find a way to extend that out into
- 27:47Speaker 1: the open. It up to the molding church members a fact,
- 27:52Speaker 1: letting me or let me leave you. I have a
- 27:55Speaker 1: new website. It's up. You can go to www dot
- 28:00Speaker 1: get your ass out now dot com. This is complaints
- 28:07Speaker 1: you are pastor Oh well, I'm just fixing some complaints
- 28:11Speaker 1: you can't fix. And this is brought about a lot
- 28:14Speaker 1: of divorces hard taking where you can find happiness, because
- 28:19Speaker 1: we really ain't got no idea how long on this
- 28:21Speaker 1: or Corona thing gonna last. What they're saying is, Deacon
- 28:25Speaker 1: that even when the food the governor opened up all
- 28:28Speaker 1: these states and everything, they're gonna be a second wave. Yeah,
- 28:32Speaker 1: he's gonna be like its gonna be like a second
- 28:34Speaker 1: way and they've had to re shut down that. You
- 28:37Speaker 1: think about that now you shut down, you sick of it.
- 28:40Speaker 1: They fit to open up the states and you fit
- 28:42Speaker 1: to get shut down with their food again. Www dot
- 28:47Speaker 1: get your ass on now dot com for they shut
- 28:51Speaker 1: it to him, sit it back down twice. Get out
- 28:57Speaker 1: on right after that first wave, get out out that
- 29:00Speaker 1: second wave. If we did not have to open up,
- 29:06Speaker 1: you drive through all right, Thank you, pastor thank you Deacon.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, entertain in
- 29:14Speaker 1: National News right after you're listening to show. Little Richard,
- 29:23Speaker 1: the founder and the architect of rock and roll, passed
- 29:26Speaker 1: away on Saturday at his home in Nashville, Texas. Little
- 29:30Speaker 1: Richard was eighty seven years old. The cause of death
- 29:34Speaker 1: is related to cancer. Little Richard was a performer with
- 29:38Speaker 1: that falsetto voice. He was playing pounding on the piano.
- 29:42Speaker 1: He influenced all kinds of artists, especially Elvis, Yeah, Rolling Stones,
- 29:49Speaker 1: of course, Mick Jagger the lead singer there, David Bowie
- 29:53Speaker 1: and of course Prince Prince with the hair and the
- 29:56Speaker 1: you know and everything. Yeah, he will be missed. He
- 29:59Speaker 1: will definitely be that movie. Have you seen that movie
- 30:03Speaker 1: about the cars that the guy had this car that
- 30:06Speaker 1: comes back to life and they play a little Christine, Christine,
- 30:09Speaker 1: It's Christine. Every time you touch a little Richard music
- 30:12Speaker 1: plays on the radio. Wow, but you can't come in.
- 30:18Speaker 1: The first time I met him, he was a guest
- 30:21Speaker 1: on the Steve Harvey Show with me and said, that
- 30:24Speaker 1: was the first time I high school. He was killed.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Yea Macon George, Yes, sir, should I always say yeah?
- 30:34Speaker 1: Washington started out washing dishes in the bus station and
- 30:39Speaker 1: see it. I'm so he said, I'm so excited. I
- 30:41Speaker 1: I'm on the scream like a white lady. I know
- 30:43Speaker 1: that dream so well. In other music news, this is
- 30:52Speaker 1: really sad too. Uptown Records founder ninety hip hop nineties
- 30:57Speaker 1: hip hop R and B music pioneer Andre Herrell passed
- 31:00Speaker 1: away on Friday. His was due to heart failure. He
- 31:05Speaker 1: was fifty nine. He was only fifty nine. Andre was
- 31:08Speaker 1: a true visionary. He built the careers of Jodice Junior
- 31:12Speaker 1: all Right, Mary J. Bige, Mary jre Blige, and Puffy.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Also in other music news, legendary iconic singer Betty Wright.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Remember Betty Wright. She was known for the clean up
- 31:24Speaker 1: woman back in the day. Yeah, tonight is a night,
- 31:27Speaker 1: no pain, no gain. She passed away from cancer at
- 31:31Speaker 1: her home in Miami. She was sixty six years old.
- 31:34Speaker 1: She was in a big lawsuit, stole her music. Yeah yeah,
- 31:39Speaker 1: sets you up? Yeah, yeah, yeah, she was. And I
- 31:45Speaker 1: think it was just last week Shaka Khan and a
- 31:47Speaker 1: bunch of other singers had called for prayers for Betty
- 31:51Speaker 1: Wright because they said she wasn't doing well. Yeah, So
- 31:54Speaker 1: our condolence is going out to the families of Betty Wright,
- 31:57Speaker 1: Andre Horrell, and of course little Um. Wow. This has
- 32:02Speaker 1: been some kind of year. Yeah, yeah, passed the way
- 32:07Speaker 1: um Roy from Sigfried and Roy Ya coronavirus come, Yeah
- 32:13Speaker 1: from the coronavirus. Yeah much, you know, Yeah, it just
- 32:18Speaker 1: makes you think, you know, how much you have to
- 32:20Speaker 1: be thankful for, you know, and these people gave us,
- 32:23Speaker 1: you know, so much good music. And Andre Horrell, you know,
- 32:28Speaker 1: especially Yeah in the nineties because he was the one
- 32:32Speaker 1: that kind of started that hip hop and R. He
- 32:35Speaker 1: had that vision to kind of get that sound, especially
- 32:38Speaker 1: with Mary Jay what's the full one one? So it
- 32:41Speaker 1: was R and B, but it was hip hop with it.
- 32:44Speaker 1: So he was a true visionary with that sound in
- 32:46Speaker 1: the nineties. And then Joe to see Junior your favorite
- 32:49Speaker 1: fruit whenever you makes no difference. He gave us holiday. Yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 1: all right, a r ip to all of them. Please
- 33:07Speaker 1: we're gonna switch gears again from Yeah member saved my
- 33:16Speaker 1: light man. All Right, seem time to get caught up
- 33:19Speaker 1: on today's headlines, ladies and gentlemen, miss Anne Tripp, Okay,
- 33:23Speaker 1: I'm going to talk about those of luminaries that we
- 33:25Speaker 1: lost also, but also now comedian Jerry Stiller this word
- 33:28Speaker 1: that he has also passed after Ben Stiller's dad, and
- 33:31Speaker 1: of course Jerry Stiller a very very famous comedian. All Right,
- 33:34Speaker 1: this is and trip. First, it was President Trump's military
- 33:36Speaker 1: valet and Friday which reported the Vice President Pence's press secretary,
- 33:40Speaker 1: Katie Miller, also tested positive for the coronavirus, and Katie Miller,
- 33:43Speaker 1: by the Way is married to senior presidential advisors Stephen Miller.
- 33:46Speaker 1: That's the architect of Trump's hardline immigration agenda. So now
- 33:50Speaker 1: three members of the white Houses Corona Task Force are
- 33:53Speaker 1: in self quarantine doctors Anthony Fauci, the CDC's Robert Redfield,
- 33:57Speaker 1: and FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn because came in contact with
- 34:01Speaker 1: the infected individuals. Nevertheless, President Trump does not seem to
- 34:05Speaker 1: follow the white Houses own guidelines for social distancing. He
- 34:08Speaker 1: doesn't wear a mask, and on top of that, Trump
- 34:10Speaker 1: says that the uptick of nationwide coronavirus testing is making
- 34:13Speaker 1: Americans unnecessarily fearful. The media electus say, we have the
- 34:18Speaker 1: most cases, but we do by far the most testing.
- 34:21Speaker 1: If we did very little testing, we wouldn't have the
- 34:23Speaker 1: most cases. So in a way, by doing all of
- 34:25Speaker 1: this testing, we make ourselves look bad. Trump has seems
- 34:28Speaker 1: to be more focused right now and reopening the economy.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Right now, there are one million, three hundred and twenty
- 34:33Speaker 1: seven thousand, seven hundred and twenty cases of the virus nationwide,
- 34:37Speaker 1: with seventy nine thousand, four hundred and ninety five deaths.
- 34:41Speaker 1: The Georgia State Attorney General pledging to investigate the handling
- 34:44Speaker 1: of the case of two white men for the alleged
- 34:46Speaker 1: murder of a young black man in Brunswick, on which
- 34:49Speaker 1: cell phone video shows being chased by those men in
- 34:51Speaker 1: a pickup truck while jogging only three blocks from his
- 34:54Speaker 1: home and shot at least twice. Local groups in about
- 34:57Speaker 1: twenty five cities raise money to take part in this
- 35:00Speaker 1: weekend's Black Mama Bailout Project that the project aimed at
- 35:03Speaker 1: getting black female detainees bailed out for Mother's Day. Community
- 35:07Speaker 1: activists say that the number of incarcerated black women has
- 35:10Speaker 1: been on the rise since the institution of new bail requirements.
- 35:13Speaker 1: The Black Mama's Bailout Project has paid for the release
- 35:16Speaker 1: of more than four hundred women, by the way, since
- 35:19Speaker 1: twenty seventeen. And finally, there was a heap of bad
- 35:22Speaker 1: music industry related news this weekend. First hit Mega King
- 35:25Speaker 1: mogul Andre Horrell, who died of heart failures. You just
- 35:29Speaker 1: heard age fifty nine Horrell and his Uptown Records, key
- 35:32Speaker 1: to the careers of Sean Combs, Mary J. Blige, Heavy
- 35:35Speaker 1: d and the Boys, and Jodacy, among many many others.
- 35:38Speaker 1: And that's right. The clean Up Woman, Grammy Award winning
- 35:42Speaker 1: singer and composer Betty Wright also died at age sixty six.
- 35:47Speaker 1: And finally, we lost Richard Wayne Pennyman, better known as
- 35:50Speaker 1: the Architect of rock and roll. Little Richie, the Grammy
- 35:58Speaker 1: Award winner, was eighty seven years old. His family stuff
- 36:01Speaker 1: he's suffered from bone cancer for a while. Little Richard
- 36:04Speaker 1: one of the first ten inductees in the Rock and
- 36:06Speaker 1: Roll Hall of Fame. Go back to Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 36:09Speaker 1: You're listening stry Mourning show. The president's personal valet the
- 36:14Speaker 1: Vice president's press secretary have both tested positive for COVID
- 36:18Speaker 1: nineteen and now doctor Fauci and the head of the
- 36:21Speaker 1: CDC and the head of the FDA are all in
- 36:25Speaker 1: self quarantine due to possible exposure. You'd think nobody winning
- 36:31Speaker 1: a man and they're not social distance. Yeah, the old
- 36:36Speaker 1: White House got it. Trust. Yeah. Their excuse is always
- 36:39Speaker 1: that they get tested every day. They get tested every day. Yeah.
- 36:42Speaker 1: And if they got it, are they going to really
- 36:44Speaker 1: tell us? Come on, man? No, In light of all
- 36:47Speaker 1: of that, Joy Anthony Brown is here with his segment
- 36:50Speaker 1: you make Me Sick. You make me sick? Now Junior
- 36:54Speaker 1: writes poems that are uplifted beautiful, don't you never. I
- 36:58Speaker 1: don't want to do that. I'm not I'm not. I'm
- 37:01Speaker 1: not going for that audience. I'm not trying to upload
- 37:04Speaker 1: on this point is title. You make me sick when
- 37:09Speaker 1: I look upon your ugly face. Oh man, you make
- 37:13Speaker 1: me sick when I hear you speaking on the TV.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I'm saying, this has got to be a treaty. Words
- 37:22Speaker 1: like throp and vomit, just to name a few, just
- 37:26Speaker 1: dimension of your name makes me feel like I have
- 37:30Speaker 1: the flu. The coronavirus is making people sick, but you
- 37:35Speaker 1: make people sick too, telling people to drink lights all
- 37:38Speaker 1: in breach. What the hell is wrong with you? When
- 37:41Speaker 1: I see you the gesture with your tined, tinned hands,
- 37:47Speaker 1: I want to gesture back with my middle finger because
- 37:50Speaker 1: you I cannot stand. Damn you make me sick. That's it.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I'm done, man, I'm done. Drop the mighty Got two
- 37:59Speaker 1: folds is lifting poet? I'm an angry poet. Okay, there's
- 38:07Speaker 1: a difference between the two. When I see you jest
- 38:12Speaker 1: you with your talent, I want to jest you back
- 38:16Speaker 1: with my middle finger because you I cannot stand. Damn,
- 38:20Speaker 1: you make me sick. Boontop. And you know we have
- 38:23Speaker 1: another poet on this show, you know we do. He's
- 38:25Speaker 1: just impromptu. Oh he go hard now, yeah, yeah, yes,
- 38:31Speaker 1: I go hard in the paint. Stop back to the mic,
- 38:34Speaker 1: mister Harvey. Yeah, you know there are times when I
- 38:39Speaker 1: try to leave situations alone. Yea, but something draws me in,
- 38:45Speaker 1: something says go ahead on. I try to ignore these
- 38:50Speaker 1: things and act like they ain't right, but nothing keeps
- 38:56Speaker 1: me up. They're not opening up my mouth. Ladnight, black
- 39:02Speaker 1: asste that's who I am. I don't care. I was
- 39:11Speaker 1: who I was, and I am who I am. I'm black,
- 39:16Speaker 1: asked ada. We'll have more of the Steve Arby Morning
- 39:25Speaker 1: Show coming up at thirty four minutes after the hour.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Well, guys,
- 39:33Speaker 1: there is an additional surveillance video that shows an individual
- 39:37Speaker 1: believed to be a mad Arbory. No, it's almad Aubrey.
- 39:41Speaker 1: His parents confirmed. Yeah, his family did confirm it. Yeah. Uh,
- 39:47Speaker 1: his family confirmed it by looking at the tape. This,
- 39:50Speaker 1: this guy, Armad Arbory is looking at an empty house
- 39:54Speaker 1: under construction before being killed on February twenty third in Georgia,
- 39:59Speaker 1: also Team Rock Nation. That's Jay z Alicia Keys, meek Mill,
- 40:04Speaker 1: civil rights attorney Benjamin Promp, and Lee Merritt, the family's attorney,
- 40:09Speaker 1: penned an open letter to Georgia elected officials on yesterday.
- 40:12Speaker 1: They called for justice for Ahmad Aarbury. Of course, he's
- 40:18Speaker 1: an African American twenty five. He would have been twenty six.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Over the weekend he was shot and killed while jogging
- 40:23Speaker 1: in Glenn County, Georgia. The letter was published in the
- 40:26Speaker 1: Atlanta Journal. The artists and lawyers want the officials to
- 40:31Speaker 1: charge the man who filmed the shooting. His name is
- 40:35Speaker 1: William Bryant. They want him charged as an armed accomplice,
- 40:39Speaker 1: and they also want the district Attorney Dirdan to recuse
- 40:43Speaker 1: himself due to a conflict of interest, for the Attorney
- 40:46Speaker 1: General to appoint special counsel. The shooter and his father,
- 40:50Speaker 1: their names are George and Travis McMichael, said they believed
- 40:53Speaker 1: Aarbury was a burglary suspect. And are they saying and
- 40:59Speaker 1: that's why they shot and killed him? You know, m
- 41:04Speaker 1: come on, I'm just looking for the outrage. See here's
- 41:10Speaker 1: what I've noticed a pattern and all of these depths
- 41:13Speaker 1: by these vigilantes or by policemen. It just spurs on
- 41:20Speaker 1: the ire of black people. What we need to really
- 41:24Speaker 1: stop this problem, it's for some whites to be outraged
- 41:29Speaker 1: at this. I mean, this is the only way this
- 41:33Speaker 1: is going to turn around, Because if it's a hate crime,
- 41:38Speaker 1: would it not be a hate crime if it happened
- 41:40Speaker 1: to a Jewish person? Would it not be a hate crime?
- 41:44Speaker 1: If it happened to an Asian person. Would it not
- 41:47Speaker 1: be a hate crime if it happened to a gay person?
- 41:50Speaker 1: So what I need for is the ACLU, the Jewish
- 41:53Speaker 1: Defense League, the gay rights people, everybody who is in
- 41:58Speaker 1: an uproar when something happens to you see what's what
- 42:02Speaker 1: is happening, y'all. It's what we don't understand. If we
- 42:05Speaker 1: don't stop all hate crimes on all people, on all levels,
- 42:09Speaker 1: it will continue to happen against Jewish people, against gay people,
- 42:14Speaker 1: against Asian people, against Latino people, against anybody that white
- 42:20Speaker 1: supremists feel like they're better. Then, and I'm telling you, man,
- 42:24Speaker 1: until we all band together and fight this thing for
- 42:28Speaker 1: the sake of the human race. If long as black
- 42:33Speaker 1: people are the only one complaining the same thing, finds
- 42:37Speaker 1: a way to keep happening. We've got to get together
- 42:41Speaker 1: and look at these hate crimes, and everybody that's ever
- 42:45Speaker 1: been hated on has to pull together because if you
- 42:48Speaker 1: stop this type of hate crime, it can affect the
- 42:50Speaker 1: other type of hate crime. But if they know they
- 42:53Speaker 1: can get away with it, it just keeps happening. And
- 42:57Speaker 1: I'm telling you, and I appreciate Rock Nation, do not
- 43:00Speaker 1: saying nobody should stop doing what they're doing, because I
- 43:03Speaker 1: think Rock Nation and the and the Lee Merrit and
- 43:05Speaker 1: all these brothers are outstanding. What I'm saying is what
- 43:10Speaker 1: I would like to see happen is these white organizations. Look, man,
- 43:16Speaker 1: if you just treated the black man like you do
- 43:19Speaker 1: endangered species, that would help us a great deal. Put
- 43:25Speaker 1: us on the endangered species list like you do everything else,
- 43:30Speaker 1: because that's what we're turning into, an endangered species. Put
- 43:34Speaker 1: us on that list, and watch what happened. Because if
- 43:37Speaker 1: you get on that list, Oh, they got funding, they
- 43:40Speaker 1: got groups, do broy they get a saving Yeah. Yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 1: so unfortunate. You know that that is unfortunate To care
- 43:51Speaker 1: more about and read some real quill while driving, while
- 43:57Speaker 1: walking home, while buying cigarettes, while jogging, sleeping while crossing
- 44:01Speaker 1: the street, while playing music, while selling CDs, while in church,
- 44:06Speaker 1: and while in your own damn home. These are just
- 44:08Speaker 1: some of the ways that black men have died. That's
- 44:12Speaker 1: just something. Yeah, that's just something, right all right? Coming
- 44:17Speaker 1: up next, nephew, Tommy is going to be in the
- 44:20Speaker 1: building as we switch gears to take the prank phone
- 44:22Speaker 1: call today that's coming up right after this. You're listening

- 46:23Speaker 1: I h okay, not bad? Not bad at all, are

- 46:35Speaker 1: of work? A man? For about a good about a
- 46:39Speaker 1: year and a half now, okay, well, then we're gonna

- 48:16Speaker 1: and you know, I've got something that I think you'll
- 48:18Speaker 1: be perfect for. Okay, but what I mean, what is
- 48:22Speaker 1: this job really about? I mean you talk, you're talking
- 48:25Speaker 1: about picking cotton. Well, you know, basically it's kind of
- 48:28Speaker 1: like you're getting paid. You know, the ten bucks an hour,
- 48:32Speaker 1: you're probably gonna get about ten hours in a day,
- 48:34Speaker 1: so so you know you're gonna make a hundred bucks
- 48:36Speaker 1: a day. It's it's it's a it's it's kind of
- 48:38Speaker 1: like slavery, but it's not. It's hold on, hold on

- 49:37Speaker 1: no damn field. Brother, I mean, I don't know why

- 54:11Speaker 1: you here. It is the Strawberry Letter Thank you, nephew's subject.
- 54:15Speaker 1: We both got busted and can't be trusted. Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 54:19Speaker 1: I'm torn to pieces over my breakup. I was dating
- 54:24Speaker 1: an old friend for two years. I am fifty two
- 54:27Speaker 1: and he's forty five. We talked about marriage and we
- 54:30Speaker 1: were in the process of buying a home. We were
- 54:33Speaker 1: a picture perfect couple, and then things started changing. I
- 54:38Speaker 1: would see him throughout the week and on weekends, but
- 54:41Speaker 1: lately he's been busy on weekends. Our love making turned
- 54:45Speaker 1: into quick sex, and it only happened when I initiated it.
- 54:49Speaker 1: He started guarding his phone and it was on vibrate
- 54:53Speaker 1: all of the time. Now. I checked it to see
- 54:56Speaker 1: if he had changed the passcode on his phone, and
- 54:59Speaker 1: he did so. I asked his son for the new
- 55:02Speaker 1: Pascoe and he gave it to me. I went to
- 55:06Speaker 1: my boyfriend's text messages and saw a string of texts,
- 55:10Speaker 1: naked pictures, and sexy videos between him and another woman.
- 55:14Speaker 1: The woman asked him if he could love two women
- 55:17Speaker 1: and he responded that he could only love one woman
- 55:20Speaker 1: at a time, but she shouldn't ask him to choose.
- 55:23Speaker 1: According to the text, they hadn't had sex shit, but
- 55:26Speaker 1: they were planning to soon. I was fuming mad and
- 55:31Speaker 1: he came into the room and caught me with his phone.
- 55:33Speaker 1: He started yelling at me for going through his phone.
- 55:36Speaker 1: We argued and argued for hours, and he said that
- 55:40Speaker 1: I had no right to go through his phone. I
- 55:42Speaker 1: told him I had no right, He had no right
- 55:46Speaker 1: to try and cheat on me. When it was all over,
- 55:48Speaker 1: he broke up with me because he said he couldn't
- 55:51Speaker 1: trust me. I can overlook the fact that he tried
- 55:54Speaker 1: to cheat on me, but he can't overlook something as
- 55:57Speaker 1: petty as me going through his phone. Who really broke
- 56:00Speaker 1: all the trust in our relationship? Me or him? Who
- 56:03Speaker 1: should apologize? You could overlook the fact that he cheated
- 56:07Speaker 1: on you? Really? Okay, let me ask you this. Why
- 56:13Speaker 1: would you apologize to him? I'm trying to figure that
- 56:15Speaker 1: one out. Why what did you do for? What? What
- 56:20Speaker 1: are you apologizing for? His son gave you the code?
- 56:26Speaker 1: That was this pretty slick move right there. His son
- 56:28Speaker 1: gave you the code. That's how you got in the phone.
- 56:31Speaker 1: So far, I don't see anything you have to apologize
- 56:33Speaker 1: for anyway. You know, you just with this whole argument
- 56:37Speaker 1: and all of this, you just gave him an out,
- 56:41Speaker 1: you know, by getting caught with the phone. That's just
- 56:43Speaker 1: what he needed and his luck would have it to
- 56:46Speaker 1: break up with you. I mean, that's what he wanted.
- 56:49Speaker 1: This has nothing to do with trust. I don't see this.
- 56:51Speaker 1: I see this as having to do with the fact
- 56:53Speaker 1: that he's cheating or, like you say, trying to cheat
- 56:57Speaker 1: on you. I think he was cheating and he wants
- 57:00Speaker 1: to leave, but he didn't want to hurt you because
- 57:02Speaker 1: you guys have been together. You said, tease your old friend.
- 57:05Speaker 1: You guys have been together for two years. He just
- 57:07Speaker 1: couldn't find a way, you know, to do it. So
- 57:10Speaker 1: you gave him an out with being caught by the phone.
- 57:13Speaker 1: So don't think with the phone. So don't think that
- 57:16Speaker 1: you have to apologize for something, because again I don't
- 57:19Speaker 1: see anything that you did. Again, his son gave you
- 57:23Speaker 1: the code. It's not like you broke into it on
- 57:25Speaker 1: your own, not that that even means anything as far
- 57:29Speaker 1: as I'm concerned. The fact is that he's cheating. He
- 57:32Speaker 1: wants out and this relationship is over. I don't think
- 57:37Speaker 1: he's going to apologize either for what he did. I
- 57:41Speaker 1: think him trying to flip it on you, you know,
- 57:44Speaker 1: just makes this relationship what it is, one big nothing.
- 57:48Speaker 1: It's not a relationship. Now he's time, he's ready to
- 57:52Speaker 1: move on, and I think it's time you did the
- 57:54Speaker 1: same thing. Steve Well, Oh, good lord and mercy lady,
- 58:03Speaker 1: y'all the friends you fitted two he forty five talking
- 58:06Speaker 1: about Madge the subject though we both got busted and
- 58:11Speaker 1: can't be trusted. But what I want to tell you
- 58:14Speaker 1: about this busting that happened ay, two different bust, two
- 58:21Speaker 1: different totally complete bust. He didn't made Joe craizy ass
- 58:26Speaker 1: think they're the same. Well, you had a perfect you're
- 58:34Speaker 1: a perfect you're a picture perfect couple, and some stuff
- 58:37Speaker 1: to try to change, and you see him every day
- 58:39Speaker 1: on the weekend. But then lately he'd been busy on weekends.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Love making turned into quick sex and it only happened
- 58:46Speaker 1: when I initiated. Then he started his when you know,
- 58:50Speaker 1: he started guarding that phone. Yeah, it was on vibrate
- 58:55Speaker 1: all the time. Now that's all you got. I checked
- 59:02Speaker 1: and see if he had changed his pass code, I'll
- 59:05Speaker 1: be dog gone. He did so. I asked his son
- 59:11Speaker 1: for the new pass code, and he gave it to me.
- 59:17Speaker 1: What you asked my son, and he gave it to you.
- 59:27Speaker 1: My boy from my loins, got my last name, the
- 59:39Speaker 1: one that I think gonna carry on the legacy. You
- 59:43Speaker 1: went to him and he gave you my password. Somewhere
- 59:52Speaker 1: I have failed as a fag somewhere. I we never
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: discussed man cold, none of that. But he gave it
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: to you. So you started going through the text message
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: and you saw a string of text, naked pictures, sexy
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: videos between him and another woman. Lord him, mercy, this
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: letter is going to hell and I come back. I'll
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: tell you how deep in hell you actually need it.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: All right, thank you, Steve. We'll have part two of
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: your response coming up at twenty three minutes after the hour,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: subject today we both got busted and can't be trusted,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: And we'll be back right after this. You're listening Steve
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. Come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: We both got busted and can't be trusted. Fifty two
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: year old woman dating a forty five year old man.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: They've been perfect couple for years. Then suddenly he stopped
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: coming by on the weekends and only hand set when
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: she initiated it was quick. She noticed that his phone
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: was on vibrate all the time. She decided to check
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: and see if he changed the colde. He did. She
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: couldn't figure the colde out. She probably set that put
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: his birthday in so security number. Try to number things
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: it fail so she wouldn't got his dumb ass boy
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: and us his son gave her the cold She go
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: through the phone find these neked pictures, sexy ass videos,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: and a string of texts. The woman asked him if
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: he could love two women, and his response was that
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: he could only love one woman at a time, but
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: she shouldn't ask him to choose. Then, she said, according
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: to the text, they hadn't had sex yet, but they
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: were planning too soon. I was fuming. He came into
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: the room caught me with his phone. He started yelling
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: at me for going through his phone. Rule number one.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: When busted as a man, the best defense is a
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: good offense. You have got to go on the attack.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: You cannot sit there and hold your guards up. Women
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: swing through God, they're knock your ass out. You won't
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: have a tooth in your head putting up your guard.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: You have got to get on the offensive. I commend
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: him for trying to go on the offensive. Wrong as hell. Yes,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: but he went on the offense. But he went on office. Hell.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: You in my phone fault? Yeah, yeah, you go up
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: in my phone. You got my phone, my phone. You're
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: going through my phone, keep saying it, just keep saying
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: it my phone. Low. Oh my god, I'm so crutch
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: that you would even go through this is my personal stuff.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I ain't got no what is you in here talking
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: to this half of phone and she necking in all
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: these videos and you're making these sex as videos with
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: her in my phone to the phone, different different volumes.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: But you're sitting up in here and you haven't you
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: told her that y'all was gonna have sex soon, and
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: then you taking viture. She said naked pictures to you.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: All of this is in the phone, in my phone,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Jesus in my phone, right the phone. So I hold him,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: he said, this is gone for hours. He said I
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: had no right to go through his phone. She tried
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: to flip it back and said, you had no right
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: to cheat on me. When it was all over, he
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: broke up with me because he said he couldn't trust me.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: I know that's right him, you can't trust him. But
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: he broke up with you and told you you can't
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: trust him. It's the master flip game and you falling
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: for it. Guess what you said. I can overlook the
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: fact that he tried to cheat on me, but why
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: he can't overlook something as petty as me going through
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: his phone? No, it's it's it's not. Don't worry about
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: the fact that it was petty you going through the phone.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: What the what you found in the phone wasn't petty?
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Thank you? Ass? Neked pictures, videos, sex, ass texts playing
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: in escapade later on on a weekend that you normally
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: had with him. When is that gonna be the real
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: topic of conversation now? Then she asked me, who really
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: broke all the trust in our relationship? Me on him? Lady?
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: What's wrong with you? How are you letting this man
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: do this? Now? Were you right for going through his phone? No,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: you were wrong for going through his phone, But he
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: was wrong for putting this stuff in the phone. His
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: stupid as he don't know how to raise this stuff. Choe,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: dumbass holding on to it phone, looking getting it out, looking,
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: get it out? What's him wrong with you? What's wrong
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: with him? And now a heat of flipped it back on.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: You went on office. That's stupid. That don't make no
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: damn Soon we've got to whoop that boy asked. That's
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: a whole nother thing, Junior. Do you wake up? Danny?
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: What you hitting me? Folks? Check your procasso all right,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: post your comments out Today's Strawberry Letter at Steve Harvey
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: FM on Instagram and Facebook. Check out the Strawberry Letter
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: podcast on demand now coming up at forty six minutes
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: after the hour. UFC Fighting is back, Steve, and you
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: watched it, you ordered it right, yes? Uh, we'll talk
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: about it and what the President had to say about
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: it right after this. You're listening to the Stave Harvey
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Morning Show. The return of UFC on Saturday night marked
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: the first major US sporting event since the coronavirus pandemic
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: forced a sports shutdown back in March. Wow. A taped
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: message from Trump was played during ESPN's broadcast of the
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: UFC This is two forty nine fight in Jacksonville had
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: no fans of course, had no fans yet. The President
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: congratulated Dana White and the UFC for restarting sports after
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: a near two month hiatus. The President went on to say,
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: due to social distancing and whatever else you need to do,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: do social distancing and whatever else you need to do,
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: we need sports back. That's what he said. Judges, broadcasters, fighters, doctors, trainers,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: referees all had to undergo COVID nineteen testing before entering
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: the arena, and some were even wearing masks. The cage
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: floor was infected between fights. That's good, the people said.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: You could really hear every kick and every punch because
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: the venue was empty and there was an echo. You
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: can hear a bunch of heavy ass breathing. I watched it.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: I ordered to fight, fell asleep, but I watched all
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: the prelimbs and everything. It was weird watching. I saw
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: the President's video. He has a relationship with Dana White,
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: that's why he shot the video and it was on ESPN. Plus,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: a couple of things has to happen. First of all,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: I think they need to have four buttons, you know how, Okay,
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Like when football teams is getting ready to go play
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: in a stadium, that's traditionally known as loud, like getting
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: ready to go play in Seattle or getting ready to
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: go play in Kansas City where it's really loud, or
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: in the dome. They will put the players in dome
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: facility and cut on crowd noises and play it re allowed,
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: so the players get used to not being able to
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: hear in the huddle. I think what the UFC should
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: do is put crowd noises in the arena fight and
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: have four levels, just a low den, a cheer, all
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: he whipping his ass and and and and all hell
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: gnaw and and that Joe Rogan controlled the buttons. I
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: think they need to do that. But the second thing
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: they need to do. I got to talk to somebody.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Me and Junior was on the phone for forty minutes
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: trying to order the damn fight together because this this
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: ESPN plus to get a fight on your TV. It's
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: too damn hard man. It's yeah, it's I was exhausted, sister,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: me and Julie. I put my code in and I
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: kid you not, I'm not exodant at least ten times. Wow.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Coming up at the top of the hour, we're gonna
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: talk about your mentoring. Monday, session Steve coming up right
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. Okay,
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: so the Harvey Foundation your virtual Mentoring Monday Session, Steve.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: They are trending now. The program, of course, helps young
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: men realize their potential. It helps them to envision and
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: to prepare for a strong and productive future. What more
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: do you have to add to that? Because you're starting
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: to do them every Monday, and they're getting popular, they're
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: starting to try I mean, you know, it's it's what
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: the whole mentoring program is about anyway. But it's just
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: really young boys who don't have fathers in their lives
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: have thousands of questions. I mean, it's an endless pool
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: of questions. And they had and one kid just was
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: so up about the fact that he wanted to be
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: a successful filmmaker and he wanted to know he don't
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: want just some girl walking the red carpet with him
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: because he a filmmaker. He wanted to know what he
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: had to do to understand girls so he can pick
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: the right one. Now he fourteen, all right, I tried
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: to explain to him, you know, hey, man, first of all,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: that's a million dollar question. Secondly, understand women, you're not
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: fitting to do that. Don't worry about that partner. That's
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: on going. I'm still I'm sixty three trying to figure
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: that one out. So and then you know, we're just
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: going to a lot of different things. Some of them
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: want to know how to they make it in the
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: manhood without their father. I mean, it's some really great questions.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: And lamenting program is one of the things I decided
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: to do during this quarantine. I wanted to do something effective,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: you know, So I did. I did I do that.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I did my high school graduation last Friday. Yeah, you
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: see the shirt I got on. Yeah, that ain't Georgia.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: That's Glennville High Baby, that's Blentville. It was beautiful, man,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: but it was bitter sweet. My old high school, man,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: when I graduated, was three thousand students. Six hundred and
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: ninety five seniors graduated that year, grades ten through twelve.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: The school here is very different. The entire school three
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: hundred and thirty seven students. The graduating class was sixty Wow,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: they have a sixty nine percent dropout, right. It was
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: really kind of sad. But the kids that were on
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: the skype that was graduating, man, really were moved by
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: some of the things I said, and it really helped
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: them because they couldn't believe it, you know, they just didn't.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: The teachers had the whole viral thing set up on
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: zoom and you could see each student in the block,
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: you know, all of them there and um. And then
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: they said, we have a new student coming in today
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: that's going to be joining us class that you all
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: have to meet. And I came in. I had on
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: another because I ain't got nothing but Glenville High School shirts.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I ain't graduated from nothing now. So I came in
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: and set into the camera. But I just showed the shirt.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: And then when I sat down into it and they
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: looked at it and they discovered it with me, their
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: ass with hard left good. So I did that one.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: I'm also part of the commissment speech for thirty thousand
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: HBCU students. Kevin Hart is talking and the two speakers
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: are myself and President Obama for the HBCUs company doing that.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: And so those are the things that I wanted to
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: do virally while I was off, because I think mintoring
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: is so important, man, just so it's just so big,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: big component is really catching on. It's really going viral.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: So if you want to join us on Mondays today,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: later on today as Mintoring Mondays, and we'll surprise a
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: couple of more kids today. How do they join? I
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: don't know? Now you know how you are on us
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: when we ain't got our information? How do you join?
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Is it as hard as it was to get on?
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: You were telling us earlier? ESPN, ESPN plus they really
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: have to change that. I'm telling Junior's a little tech guy.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Julior couldn't get into fight. I gave up with Junior
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: and I was on with my assistant. Yeah, out in
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: LA for another forty minutes. I didn't even get the
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: beginning of it. All right, coming up, we have more
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: of today's trending stories on the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: We'll be back in twenty minutes after the hour. Right
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: after this, you're listening to show. All right, here we go,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Carla is here trending music news. What do you have
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: for us today? My dear well, my dear Okay, Erica
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: BA dude, Jill Scott. The battle yeah, well, you know
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: it went down Saturday night. Tommy the Queens, they battled.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: It was a little different. I was happy to see
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: them coming together because they were truly fans of each
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: of each other. Yes, and they respected each other's music
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: and they you know, talked about their songwriting skills and everything.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: So it was cool, yeah, and their friendship. It was
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: about they battled songs. Eighteen I guess it was about
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: eighteen rounds of music and I heard it was real
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: talkative though. Did they do a lot of talking back
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: and forth? Yeah, they were talking when you hear that,
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because it was a lot of ladies. You
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: have two people who talk a lot in their concerts,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: so it's gonna be some talk that you the head
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: gonna bring cut down the full rounds of music. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: they did their jams. They did all of their heads
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: that they did. They did in Austin, didn't you know?
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: Slowly surely? Oh yeah, next lifetime Joe came with all
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: the fighters, so, you know, getting in the way. She
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: did say that she got some backlash for that song
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: getting in the Way. I didn't know that because she
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: wrote it, recorded a song about fighting, you know, and
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: she said I didn't write it. Yeah, So we learned
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: some things to music knowledge. So we'll see who the
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: next battle is going to. Did Erica talk about being
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: naked on that video walking down the window. See all right,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: we have more than the Sea Arby Morning Show and
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: some trending news coming up at thirty three minutes after
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: the hour. Right after this, you're listening to show. Little Richard,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: the founder and the architect of rock and roll, pass
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: away on Saturday at his home in Nashville, Texas. Little
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Richard was eighty seven years old. Because of death is
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: related to cancer. Little Richard was a performer with that
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: falsetto voice. He was playing pounding on the piano. He
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: influenced all kinds of artists, especially, but he can't come in. Yeah,
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Rolling Stones, of course, Mick Jagger the lead singer there,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: David Bowie, and of course Prince with the Prince with
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: the hair and the you know and everything. Yeah, he
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: will be missed. He will definitely be missed. Yeah. That movie,
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: have you seen that movie about the cars? That the
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: guy had this car that comes back to life and
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: they played a little Christine, Christine, It's Christine. Every time
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: you touch a Little Richard, music plays on the radio.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: Oh wow, you can't come in. The first time I
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: met him, he was a guest on the Steve Harvey
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: show with me, and that was the first time I
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: high school. Yeah, Macon George, Yes, sir, you should always
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: say yeah. Shut. Washington started out washing dishes in the
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: bus station and see it. I'm so he said, I'm
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: so excited. I I'm on scream like a white lady.
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: And I know that dream, so familiar with that. Well.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: In other music news, this is really sad too. Uptown
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: Records founder ninety hip hop nineties hip hop R and
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: B music pioneer Andre Herrell passed away on Friday. His
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: was due to heart failure. He was fifty nine. He
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: was only fifty nine. Um. Andre was a true visionary.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: He built the careers of Jodice Junior, Alright, Mary J. Blige,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Mary jre Blige, and Puffy Also and other music news
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: legendary I conic singer Betty Wright. I remember Betty Wright.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: She was known for the clean up woman back in
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: the day. Yeah, tonight is a night, no pain, no gain.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: She passed away from cancer at her home in Miami.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: She was sixty six years old. She was in a
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: big law suit her music. Yeah sex you up, I'm yeah, yeah,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: yeah she was And I think it was just last week,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Shaka Khan and a bunch of other singers had called
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: for prayers for Betty Wright because they said she wasn't
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: doing well. Yeah, so our condolence is going out to
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: the families of Betty Wright, Andre Horrell and of course
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: little Um. Wow. This has been some kind of year.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, passed away um Roy from Siegfried and
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Roy yea coronavirus, Yeah, from the coronavirus. Yeah wow. All right,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: coming up next our last break of the day. Go again.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: It is a last break, and of course we'll have
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: some closing remarks from the one and only Steve Harvey.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: All that coming up at forty nine minutes after the hour.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: Right after this you're listening to show. All right, Here
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: we are, guys, our last break of the day on
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: this Monday. It's been a good day day. You know
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: what I've been doing closing remarks. I've been dealing with this,
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: these depths of black men lately, and I just want
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: to do this one today to be a lot more
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: encouraging to people, to give you something I was thinking about.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: I wanted to do this one a few days ago,
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: but I didn't, so I'm gonna do it today. I
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: wanted to remind people that during these challenging times, what's
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: really been helpful for me, and not only these challenging moments,
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: but all of my different called times in my life.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: It's my faith. Now, this faith that I have is
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: grown over the years. You know, as I've gotten older,
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: I've discovered I'm not the person that I was in
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: my twenties, my thirties, my forties. I've grown over the years,
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: and so have many of you. But the greatest benefit
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: to my growth has been my spiritual growth. And one
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: of the things that I learned about it was I
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: was on vacation in Europe last year and I was
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: in Italy. How bad has it gotten over there? Right?
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: But I was on a boat and this analogy that
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: I'm about to share with you, it occurred to me
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: while I was anchored off shore. And this happened to me,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: and I was sitting up thinking about it the other day. Man,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: how can I share this with my audience, man, so
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: they get the same thing out of it I got.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: So here it is. We were anchored off shore and
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: the captain of the boat was explaining to me why
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: he had anchored in a certain location, and he was
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: saying it was based on the direction of the wind
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: and the swing or the pivot of the boat when
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: it was anchored, because I noticed whenever we anchor a boat,
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: it always swings and pivots, and wow, it's interesting. Well
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: he was explaining this to me, and then this analogy
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: came to me because what he was describing to me
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: was actually my faith and my connection to God. And
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: this is what happened. See, when a boat uses or
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: lowers its anchor, what's wanting to happen is he wants
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: the rope or the chain that's attached to the anchor
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: to be long enough to reach the bottom of the
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: ocean or the lake floor. And if it does, the
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: anchor is gonna hold the boat in place so the
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: wind don't blow or push the boat around or the
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: current pushes it into the rocks. You feel me, Well,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: while he was talking, I was tripping because I suddenly
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: realized that God was my anchor and my faith was
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: my chain. See earlier I said in the intro that
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: I wasn't who I was in my twenties, my thirties
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: and my forties, because see back then my faith was
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: on a short rope. See, so my connection to God
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: was let's just say limited. But back then though, I
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: was in a much shallower water. So sometimes my anchor
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: could hold me in place when I used it. But
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: whenever I didn't use my anchor, which was my connection
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: to God, my chain, and my connected to the anchor,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: which is God. Even in the love boat and the
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: shallow water, sometimes I get tossed. I didn't even fell
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: out the boat boat before, and felt like I couldn't
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: even get back up in it. But that on those
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: times when I had fallen out the boat, just like
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: when you fall out your boat, you get deceived by
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: the evil one who tries to make you think that
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: you ain't gonna do not to fall out the boat again.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: And where was your anchor anyway? Well, to be truthful
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: about it, I wouldn't even use it. But the devil
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: was making me think that the anchor didn't work no way.
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: But it does. The only problem is you gotta stay
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: connected to it. So what did happened, y'all? Is is
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: I've gotten older now I've started to realize that the
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: anchor my God always works. I just gotta stay connected
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: to it. I gotta make sure that my rope and
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: my chain is always attached. See as we get older,
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: we get wiser, we get stronger. We're gonna find ourselves
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: out in deeper water. See the older, the more experienced
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: you're gonna encounter that that water that you in, it
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: gets deeper. You ain't in the lake or river. No more.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: You in deep water. You in the ocean. And the
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: older you get, the more challenging life becomes. The deeper
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: the water you find yourself in. See the ocean different
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: than the lake or river. See when the ocean blow
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: out there on that ocean, when that wind blow out
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: down that ocean, it ain't no lake or no pond
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: or no river. The wind pick up in the ocean.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: In the deep water that you find yourself in, it
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: creates some waves. Its huge waves come up. It generates
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: major storms. Herrod cane developed out over the ocean. That's
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: why they develop, because they're out there in that deep water. Man,
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: he can get treacherous out here. See the ocean is
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: so powerful. It can turn over the biggest boat if
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: it's not anchor. Not to anchor out in deep water.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: Your anchor has to get to the ocean floor to
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: hold you steady in this deep water. Well guess what.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: Then you need more chain, which is actually your faith.
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: You need more faith, which is your chain that connects
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: you to your anchor, which is God, so he can
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: get to the bottom of things, so he can hold
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: your safe, so he can hold you steady. That's what
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: I learned while that man was telling me about an
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: anchor on a boat out in Italy. He was really
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: talking about my faith. So see, it don't matter what
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: the situation is. It don't matter what the circumstance I'm in,
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: It don't matter how deep the water get. My God,
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: who is my anchor, always works. You have survived every
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: storm this far. I see no reason why we won't
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: survive this one, even though yes got stave. For all
